In short

Q4 monetization opportunities for podcasts, especially using AI to mass-produce evergreen shows and capture higher ad revenue in Q4.

Guests

Jaden and Jamie (co-hosts). Jaden runs a network of 100+ podcasts and an “AI Hustle School” community (1,300+ members). Jamie asks practical questions about scripting and voice generation.

Key claims

Automatic ad placements brought about $1,000 in the last 30 days; Q4 can be ~3x. AI-generated podcasts can be scaled with 100–365 episodes per show, then reused by reposting older episodes a year later. Quality is “non-negotiable”; use high-quality voice tools (Jaden recommends ElevenLabs V3).

Notable examples

A fitness AI podcast generated ~2,000 views in a month and $46; one show makes ~$40/month; some AI shows make up to ~$800/month.

0:00The people who seem to get more done than everyone else, they're not working longer hours or running on more caffeine. They've just stopped wasting time on the stuff that doesn't move work forward. Switching apps, re-explaining context, hunting for files? Those aren't small inefficiencies. They're hours wasted every week. Superhuman Go gives you those hours back. From the makers of Grammarly, Go is an AI chat that sits inside every tab and tool you already use. Always available and ready to help you with what you're working on. Ask it to draft something, summarize a long thread, pull up a file, or prep you for a meeting.

0:35Go handles it without you ever leaving the page you're on. This is what it looks like when AI actually fits into your work instead of adding to it. It's like having a teammate whose only job is to help you be better at yours. Go keeps up so you can move forward. With Go working with you, you can show off what you do best. See what Superhuman Go can do at superhuman.com. That's superhuman.com. Hey guys, welcome back to the podcast. Today we are talking about podcasting as a side hustle. Yes, we're podcasting about podcasting, but this is going to be, there's really a lot of opportunity right now, especially with AI podcasts.

1:15We're going to break that down for you today, especially going into Q4. Brands are spending a lot of money on ads and there's a lot of opportunity. And it's one of those markets that we believe is relatively untapped. So, Jaden, why don't you break it down for us and how you're using AI to make podcasts. Okay. So the first thing that I wanted to say that's interesting is we'll just go full disclosure. This podcast in the last 30 days from automatic ad placement. So there's a lot of ways to monetize a podcast. We monetize it with our school community. You could get sponsors on your podcast. But then automatic ad placements are, you know, kind of like a low hanging fruit.

1:52If there's not an ad spot filled, it pulls in. this podcast in the last 30 days has made about a thousand dollars from automatic ad placements and we're about to go into q4 which q4 is typically about 3x what you would normally make so you know presumably they don't make three thousand dollars a month for q q4 this is just from us you know doing our own podcast talking about it but one of the biggest opportunities that i believe that exists right now is in actually creating AI generated podcasts. Or if you really could like wanted to mass produce podcasts yourself, you probably could do this with a human voice, but I'll break down how I would recommend doing it with AI.

2:30And also the one other thing I wanted to mention is that this podcast, Jamie and I record for a one hour a week. So one hour a week, and then it does, you know, a thousand dollars in ad revenue. So it's, you know, 500 bucks for that. But then there's a lot of different other ways that I'm on. Yeah. 500 each per month, plus our school community, which you should definitely check out if you haven't yet. It's a great way to learn how to actually find the right hustle for you, what suits your personality traits best, and then actually go for it and how to actually make money with different AI hustles.

3:03We have all kinds of different categories, so go check that out, and we'd love to have you be a member. It's only$19 a month. We have over 1 ,300 members of just a great community of like-minded people. So let's get back to podcasting. Tell us about some of your different AI podcasts and how much they make. Okay. So scrolling through, I have a network of over 100 different podcasts and they're all different. I'll tell you one of them is like a fitness podcast that I just pulled up. And the way that a lot of these work, like the basic overview, and there's a lot of strategies we have in the school community on how to do this.

3:39But the basic overview is I will go and create a podcast in an industry. So for example, this one's fitness. I will use AI to generate my goal. And I don't always do this perfectly. Sometimes I create like 100 episodes, but my goal would be to create 365 episodes, high quality, right? So you go work with Claude to come up with a script and chat GPT. You don't just shotgun it and hope it works well. I usually do some research to find really good topics. That's all in school community. And then I have prompts to help write high quality scripts. Go look at other popular podcasts. I'm sure you can figure out how to make this high quality.

4:12Once you get the quality nailed down, then you try to scale it. So I do either 100 or 365. Sometimes I phase it. So I'll do 100 first. I'll take those episodes and I will schedule one a day for the next year. And then after a year, you have two options. One is you literally just get us a tool, which I built, which takes my oldest episode from a year ago and reposts it one year later. and honestly for most people if they really enjoy your content they're not going to remember what if it's evergreen content so it's like how to and informational not news related this wouldn't work with our podcast or news related but if it's evergreen content like fitness right it's fitness strategies fitness mindset any anything like that you post it one year later and most people still like the content one year later and if you want to spice it up you can add it you can sprinkle in a handful of new ones so it kind of is at a different balance even if you created like 50 new ones then there's like a sprinkle of new ones and kind of old ones and it all is basically the same so but basically i say this to say you can maintain this or make it completely passive so that's how you that's how i'd recommend doing one podcast called up a fitness podcast here that i have and it's generated 46 in the last month it had about 2 000 views in the last month so for 2000 views, it generated$46.

5:31And I have the way I'll typically do it is I'll pick like one specific industry. So like fitness, for example, I will create 10 different podcasts with 10 different names. And I'll just take the 365 episodes with 100 episodes, and I'll just post them in a random order on them all. So it's like, no show is posting the same episode on the same day. And it's not usually it's never usually the same listener listening to multiple podcasts. It's just people might search for a different keyword and find that podcast. And that's the podcast that they like to listen to. For me, it does a couple of things.

6:02One is that, but two is I don't have to generate. I don't have to regenerate. Like I can take one episode and get like 10 uses out of it. So that is a strategy for AI generated podcasting. This one is making$40 a month. I have 10 different fitness ones. And then I have a whole bunch of different industries. So there's fitness, there's health, there's history. there's literally an unlimited amount of listeners in the history niche guys I'm serious I'm not even I'm not even worried anyone will compete with me there because there is just like a billion people on the planet that want to listen to history podcasts apparently so it's just an unlimited amount of gold mine there so yeah there's a lot of different things I have a network and they all generate a lot of revenue and this is one of the best times get started on this I was recently telling everyone our school community they got the early scoop on it but revenue is about to go up in the fourth quarter this year.

6:54So yeah, but Jamie, if you were going to do the side hustle, what would the questions, as I've probably talked about this before, what would the questions be that you would have on this? Yeah, I mean, I guess like as far as the voice generation, well, scripting and voice generation are my two biggest. What would you suggest for having like a natural sounding script? And then what types of tools are you using for the voice generation? Do you care how robotic it sounds? Or is it just like if volume or like how do you balance volume and quality? I guess that's a question. I say go max on quality because it's already AI generated.

7:28So like if I was, if I was any more, if I had any more time in the day, I would either hire someone to voice them myself or voice them myself. And I probably actually will do that for some of these shows. Once I grew them enough, which is where they're making enough money, I'll probably actually hire people to start taking over some of these shows, especially because I don't really feel, I don't really want to sell ad spots to actual companies on these as much, unless it's a real person, because I'd have to go like AI generate it with this voice. And anyways, it just feels less authentic. So my first step actually, and this isn't gonna be for everybody, but I guess I'll just say this to illustrate the point that quality is really important.

8:07My first step would be to like get reach. So now I'm getting thousands of downloads and get revenue, okay, it's making money. And then I would probably switch to getting a real person to run this network. because remember, it's not just one show. I have like 10 shows and some of my shows make eight, like some of my completely AI generated shows make$800 a month. And that's also why I wanted to share like our podcast revenue with everyone at the beginning because this show, yeah, might make like whatever, like$1 ,000 in the last month, but I have like literal AI generated podcasts that need no effort from me.

8:38I had my studio manager build them and schedule them and set them up. I literally didn't do anything. And some of those individual shows are making$800 a month, completely AI generated. So, and I wouldn't say that that's a dig on having a real person voice it. I think it's all just about finding the right algorithm and the right content fit. And so for me, what I'll do is some of these will be AI. And once they get big enough and they make enough money, I'm going to hire like a real person to like have a face to the podcast and a real voice. And like, it seems really, really authentic. I think that's how you can, you'll really scale them in the future.

9:11But I only have to say that quality is really important to people. and if you're on 11 labs, you need to use V3. It's the highest quality and it's the most expensive tier. But I mean, I basically think it's non-negotiable because nobody wants to listen to a podcast that is completely scripted by AI. I mean, that's a completely different thing. You need to make your script high quality. They don't want to listen to something that's like scripted by AI and it's like a bad AI voice. Like just make this, this is not like an arbitrage opportunity where you're like hacking an algorithm or you're like figuring out a way to extract scam money.

9:41Like make a quality product that people enjoy listening to and they get value out of. So make it as high quality as possible. And like I mentioned, one episode could go to 10 different shows. And in a year, you can repeat that same episode. So like make it the highest quality piece of content. And that's why eventually I'll lean towards human voices because with that same strategy, a human voice makes it even better. Even if it sounds exactly identical, so no knock on AI, even if it sounded identical, but just to know it was a real human talking, I think there is going to be an intrinsic value to that.

10:10So anyways, there's a lot of ways to, there's a lot of ways to cook it but at the end of the day it's a huge opportunity for evergreen content I would say like the news stuff which is what I do day to day is annoying and I get sick of it because it's refreshed it's like oh you're only as good as your latest episode when you do this evergreen content like history it's just good forever that same history episode could be listened to for 20 years I love that yeah thanks for man there's a lot of gold nuggets in this episode if you're listening that should give you a little bit of taste of what our school community But I, yeah, I totally agree.

10:42I do think there is a window of opportunity here. I think as time goes on, there'll be, you know, even Spotify just recently, or sorry, Apple Music recently just allowed video podcasts because I think there's a little bit more authenticity there with the video. It's like harder to fake. So I do think eventually this hustle may slow down. Who knows, really? But there's definitely a window of opportunity right now. And you should. And I would say, I would 100 % agree. Also, I would say beyond just slow down, like think of it as a transition. Like if you really had a podcast that is, because my goal with all of these shows is they should all be making$1 ,000 a month in ad revenue.

11:22So my goal would be grow them. And if for some reason you feel like that window of opportunity is closing or whatever, just get a real human to now come in and take over the podcast. and then and like record the video, whatever. Now, and then I think that the podcast should be able to scale way beyond that. And you can get bring on brand sponsors who will pay way more, but it's like a real person really recommending the product, really talking about it. So that's like the way I would say to transition, even if that means yourself, like if you love a topic, and you make a podcast about a topic, it gets really big with AI, you know, you could just go over and take it over.

11:54If it's something you love talking about, and you could, you know, make 20 or 30 grand a month doing that, you might as well. You know, it's a good thing to move into. That sounds pretty good to me. 20 to 30 grand a month. Let's go. Well, hey, thanks for listening to this episode. If you guys got any value out of it, we'd really appreciate a rating or review. We're trying to get to 200 and we're getting close. So if you could do that, that'd be amazing. And don't forget to check out the AI Hustle School community. We'd love to have you be a member. Thanks for listening and we'll see you next time.
