She disembarked from her vessel early in the morning to join an organized island tour. The tour bus made a stop in Marigot on the French side of the island, and that's where she left the group, but she never came back to the bus or the cruise ship. Once the alarm was raised, local authorities from both the Dutch and French sides of the island launched a joint search. The police issued a missing person alert and asked the public for help locating her.

1:19They urged anyone who might have seen her to come forward and encouraged Evans herself to contact her family or officials if she was safe. As of the latest update, her whereabouts remain unknown, and the investigation is ongoing. The disappearance has reignited concerns over cruise ship shore excursion procedures, especially the safety protocols for checking passengers out and back in. Family members and travel safety advocates are now asking whether cruise lines and tour operators did everything they could to ensure each passenger returned before the ship left port. For many, this case underscores the risks travelers face, even on supposedly safe, guided tours.

2:02Psychologically, the fear, uncertainty, and anxiety surrounding a missing person on holiday can be devastating, especially when loved ones are far away. The fact that Evans vanished during what should have been a relaxing vacation stop amplifies the emotional strain. Authorities are handling the case as a high priority, and the island community has rallied to assist. Authorities have not publicly ruled out any possibilities. Bottom line, a seemingly routine island stop turned into a nightmare for one cruise passenger and her loved ones.
