In short
Paul Kelly, a Liverpool-born fighter, recounts his path from street fighting to the UFC, the injuries and prison time that shaped him, and his views on loyalty, discipline, and the business side of MMA.
Guest background
Paul Kelly is a “Liverpool lad” who says he was expelled repeatedly and left school early. He boxed and sparred with family, later trained in MMA. He suffered a catastrophic leg injury at about age 13, including a traumatic amputation and reconstruction with an external-fixator system by German surgeon Dr. Nigam, leaving him with a “bionic leg.” He later fought in the UFC (claims around 7–9 fights) and also served long prison sentences (he says 13 years, plus recalls).
Key claims
He says fighting started as a hobby, then became a career after UFC opportunities. He believes CTE risk from repeated head trauma drives his focus on his kids and staying strong. He claims he was targeted/“stitch-ups” in prison, including a recall tied to a leaked consensual sex video and later alleged burglary. He argues UFC matchmaking and management/promoters affect fighter success.
Notable examples
signing autographs and dinners with Dana White; machete attack causing major facial injury; training and fighting through broken ribs; UFC debut/contract story; relationship with Darren Till; prison art/drawing during lockdown.

2:20I'm good mate, yeah Liverpool lads aren't I Fighting city Ended up fighting Fighting But then You're a city lad aren't you You're just one of the chaps You're getting about You're doing what everyone else Your age is doing And whatever else And then fighting was just like A bit of an hobby for me So I wasn't like I wasn't like Thinking I was yelling more When I wasn't fighting Do you know what I mean And then I end up I end up in the UFC And I'm fucking signing autographs For one minute And then Still like living in both worlds for a little minute and then I jibbed it then I stopped every single thing because I had an opportunity to go here's where I'm at here's my life now I'm signing autographs I'm fucking in big long ass queues and I'm living the boss life having my dinner with Dana White and Christmas dinner with Dana White and like for a fighter lad that was sick wasn't it so I I took a machete to the face which is fucking I lost a couple of teeth and then And it lost me fucking head, to be honest.
3:21And that was just after a four-markers TV, so a bit of a mad story. Everyone knows it. The kid knows it. So it went up. As if, whatever, I've had a balaclava on me face. Whatever the reasons I was there, I was there. And then the machete, I couldn't see the guy. And then as I've gone in, I'm trying to beat an honest story, you know what I'm saying? Because I've got to be careful on it. And it fucking took me head off. I had a couple of inches lower. I was dead. And I got the blade. The blade was about that big. one of them things where you just stand on for someone like you always do. And after that, I just thought, what am I doing?
3:57I'm fucking running like a madman. I'm fucking... And then I've got this opportunity, so I put everything aside and I've fucked everyone off and just focused fully on me fighting. I've done all right, lad. I had a good go. I fought some tough people. What were you like at school? Cunt. But I've always been a cunt, lad. I'm not wired right. I'm not wired right to anyway. I think fighting over the years and fighting whatever, I think I've probably got a little bit of CTE left, which is my mission now is just to do the best I can, be as successful as I can for all my kids. Because how long do you live with CTE?
4:35Everyone goes fucking, it goes, don't you? Yeah. What about family life? How about his parents? Love my kids, lad. Yeah, my parents are boss. My parents are boss, lad. I'm dead close. My dad's my best mate. Still now. I'm with him every day, do you know what I mean? Eddie's an old Michy lad Eddie's an old Scousers so all our mates are mutual friends It's the Scousers bro everyone I've had on like he's our tat But everybody knows We're a culture we're our own culture lad and look you've only got to go to prison to see that you go to any prison in certainly in the UK and there's a gang of Michys and no matter what goes on outside we stick together and we're strong together and that's that and that's why like for us it's a safer place to be if you move correct and you're not a dog's arsehole then it can be a bad place if you're a fucking shithouse weasel who's going to move sideways on the outside and then get locked in there you're fucked aren't you but the majority of Michys lad we hold our own we're our own culture yeah listen everybody knows my love of those I love those but there's something it's like a world within a world like there is something in the air down there like there's if the Scousers love you if you've got loyalty from Scousers you're doing something right but if you fuck any Scousers over too bad you're fucked and that don't just remember isn't that a good thing that's why there's the rest of the cunt theatres in it because we are all stronger together it's gone a little bit sideways now like because the cities don't look the same the streets don't look the same mad fucking mad what did you do after school?
6:04re-training? I left school early I didn't I didn't go to school after like well I was always getting expelled then my ma tried forever to get me into a school I got into that school I had about three or four fights the first couple of weeks goes fucking made i only had to do three classes yeah i had to do much english and art and i didn't have a teacher and i'd work in a dinner all and everyone used to go past going ah you fucking mong and like no taking the piss my best mates i chased them down but i didn't have a teacher i didn't have no one to tell me to do nothing we're just gonna do that yeah i was like a bit of a naughty kid and my mom tried the best do you know what i mean to get me in schools but that is just waiting for me yeah schools are paying for because we were in a class called Foundation which was for all the dafties it was for all it's not that we were daft we just wanted to cause havoc so we used to sit outside classes and sit and we felt like fucking losers because we were but because you get you get caught up in it and you just carry on doing it I used to sit in boot the window boot the footy at the window just to be able to do you know what I mean like stupid stuff when you're getting you're getting excluded from it anyway well you're arsed what happened to your leg I blew it off flat when I was fucking 13 my dad had gone to jail over something over something my god I'm not guilty for do you know what I mean but while he was there my ma's head had fell off and me and my brother just took the piss lad we were just about everywhere every night my ma was worried over for my half for not getting fucking do you know what I mean and we just took the piss we were out all the time and then we've gone up the seat we've gone right along the railway so I must have been 12, 13 team two of us on the bikes and um i'll show you that in the middle if i can get it on the camera i'll show me ass so i was flying along the lala that was the concrete lala i've come off hit me i tell everyone it's a shark bite you know me because it does look like a shark bite but i hit a concrete slab and i blew my leg off so the back part of my leg was like lying alongside me there but i'm on the edge of a ditch with a big drop so where the trats used to be so where i am is imagine the walkway to the train station and then you've got the big trap the big dip where the track where the track used to be yeah so i put my head up like that and in the back of my legs day in a pair of jeans so i've gone off and then your body goes into fight or flight don't it so with my leg back over and i've got a picture i'll get you the picture i don't know you can show it like yeah no and we'll just add it on anyway i've got a picture because it's a picture of it.
8:38So it was that. So when I went back, I'm lying there for time because I'm trapped down there. There's no mobile phones. No one's got no mobile phones, yeah. I reckon this was the main character building for me, lads, because this fucked my life, you know what I mean? Because it gave me an option, be it a cripple or not. So my leg's off there. I'm waiting for them to come down for ages to say, look, am I going to die? Am I going to die? He said, no, you're not going to die, no. Am I going to lose my leg and we're going to do whatever we can? But I was in operation for eight hours. And then when they put my leg back together, it was about that much shorter.
9:07and they both about that much off and it was infected anyway so they ended up because they put a pin and plate in it originally just to clear it and skin graft it because they had all the skin grafts on that leg and then they ended up putting a ball through it and making it longer and there was a guy from germany called dr niger we've seen them external fixators that go on your leg he was here teaching in the uk at the time if it weren't for that lad it would have been one of them fucking oh pull on oh yeah it's one of them kids that work like a fucking mp leg so what he done is they left my leg in traction till the bone grew.
9:38Took me about 18 months but it's the bionic leg and it's strong as fuck. It was disgusting when I done it like but for it to come back it's there mostly now keep it strong. It's the bionic leg. How did it go then? Because you're on it like so like a fucking dummy leg? No it's not a dummy leg. They pulled the bone out. they pulled the bone out so they re-sliced me open from there to there because it was infected, it used to come in every day and pull the skin out and then all the skin on that leg is off that leg they had skin grafts yeah, because it just went boom and that was gone, and when you see the picture you're going to go, oh no way, that stayed on only for this Dr.
10:17Mike, am I? So yeah, so they pulled it so they keep the bone like that and then after the bit the bone grows they put this big thing into my hip so I couldn't bend my hip for about 18 months my mum used to push me around on this fucking crippled wheelchair that you had to lie back, lad. But, like, I was still a little bastard then. I remember being on fucking out of 40 months watching me meet. And there was a kid who was having a bit of trouble with it. And I'm lying in my wheelchair and thinking to myself, what the fuck am I having this with you? It was just still a little bastard kid. Yeah, lad, it's character building.
10:48It's made me. It's given me a lot. I've had enough character building experiences in my life, do you know what I mean? Do you think they would have whipped it off if that guy wasn't there? Nah, they wouldn't have whipped it, but it would have been like one of them little fucking, one of them, like of course buying a bit for them one leg, it'd be that much shorter than the other lads, I couldn't have done none, it would have been fucked. So who is that guy? Dr. Nigam, his name is, he invented them big fucking cages, yeah, he's a German dude, he invented them big cages and he was in the UK teaching.
11:17Sierra has all the best active and outdoor brands you need, from athletic stuff, like a full court pick up game, swish, to athletic stuff, like a half mile stroll. Get those steps in. And for morning hikes up the mountain trail, good pace. It's a nighttime ghost choice from the camping chair. What a twist. Whatever level of active, Sierra loves it all. Head to Sierra or Sierra.com for the brands you want at the prices that let you do it all. From athletic to athletic-ish, Sierra's got it. Low energy, unfocused, foggy, you might be dehydrated. Gatorade Zero Powders have been scientifically designed to help improve hydration balance in the body with a clinically proven electrolyte blend and no artificial colours or flavours great tasting hydration no matter where you're going shop now online or at retailers nationwide Gatorade hydrates better than water is it in you?
12:11symptoms noted are signs of mild to moderate dehydration consult a healthcare professional if symptoms persist all the fucking doctors how to do that so I'd come in every day they come in every day there'd be like six of them so I'm teaching them all shit so it's just lucky that like a guinea pig when we got the gaffer doing it that's always sad my legs fucking belted off it that's mad innit so do you think that's what made you who you are to get fit and stay strong because your fitness I see your fitness videos in the gym when you're in the gym like your proper train hard I think it gave me drive lad because they said I'd never walk they said I'd never sit up straight in a chair you know because they have set limitations for you don't they and I think it gave me a better mindset a stronger will death all when did you start training in MMA?
12:56I started training because of my leg but then my dad and all his brothers boxed so we used to go me and my brother and we used to go and spar with my uncle and he'd fucking leatherers do you know what I mean but then when we were and sparred with kids our own size it was like it was a minor it didn't feel as bad which is why I was so brave fighting not because I'd always started with that brave mentality because I'm getting it by a man what are you going to do you're a kid do you know what I mean and I kept that style. I can keep that style now, let it come back and fight. I'm old as shit, isn't it?
13:25How was the leg when you were training? I couldn't, let it, I can set it on fire and I wouldn't know. But then when I get kicked in it, a hematoma. So I could take the kicks, I can sit on a kick and ride it and land with a right. And that's, for me, the better shot. If you're going to come for that, you're going to eat this. Yeah. So I would never check them. But then the next day when I fly back, because I'd usually fly back unless I was going back to wherever I was over there. And I'd have to get on a plane, lad. And because my leg doesn't bruise like yours, a hematoma, so it'll come out like that.
13:56And I wouldn't be able to bend it. Man up, lad. It is what it is. Do you know what I mean? Just to get into a fucking big check. I'm going to be crying about a leg. What's the rules on that? What? Did they know it was dummy? They're an arse, lad. Look, lad. I've turned up. I've turned up. I've been fucking... With 13 stitches. When I fought through mandolones, yeah. I had a broken hand. This hand was broken. Yeah. And I had 13 stitches. you see them these fucking tiny little hands have you seen them stitches across there kid ripped a thing so i was walking out of the fight but a hand that was stitched up and i couldn't grab and i broke her hands and i got i got to the fucking to the to the gateway it was in the o2 and i walked out to the kings of leon to use somebody and i got there like a cripple and just looked around and just thought fuck it let's have it and i had the proper war lad we had a proper bow just punched each other's heads in for fucking 15 minutes and then went for a joint after it lad he's a cool guy good mates with him now what was it like having your first MMA fight?
14:58erm did you enjoy it or were you nervous? I don't lad it's weird yeah even that last fight I was sitting in the back and I was dead inside I don't really get nervous I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing I'm not asked do you know what I mean? weird lad do you know what I mean? so I don't know whether like that last time I've always used to be not being a give of a fuck I'll fall asleep in the back I don't care like I'm just not really I see people get nervous before they walk out but nervous and excitement it's the same thing it's exactly the same feeling it's how you're going to feel but if you're going to put a negative spin on it it's nerves innit if you're excited come on let's have it fucking move out the way referee you know what I mean like come on so yeah lad I don't see I don't see them as nerves me and I'll just chill in the back not giving a fuck until it's go time but that last fight that last fight again because I fought with broken ribs twice no fighter goes into it and they fight uninjured I fought with broken ribs against Dennis River and I regretted it when I got out of jug last time and I was fighting till snapped my ribs with a knee because the gaffer weren't in you've seen us it's not a acta we just fucking fuck about all the time I've seen that video when he says don't bear grass yeah that's what he said don't bear grass but he's leaning against the side and he's uppercutting me so I'm fucking uppercutting back we've got a pair of fours on we're just barring it and there's no gaffer there Colin keeps control of it because he knows what we're like so then he hit me with a left hook or he hit me with whatever lad turns out we just end up having a straightener in the middle of the gym while everyone else is training now stop training and me and him were just having a stay in the gym.
16:45He lifts his knee up and I felt it go straight away. I just sat on the floor. I went, you know, it's having a gaffer. Don't be a grass. Don't be a grass. And then I went in the next day, stumbled in the next day in him. The gaffer said, how are you, sir? Said him, all right, Carl. Libs okay? Because he told you. He said, so we went through it, lad. And do you know what? We weren't going to fight. I'd sold the venue out. My first fight back after fucking that long time. I literally fucking... if you leaned on me it was done it was done I done one back side three and then like the little the intercostal that's called in between so fucking and I said to the gaffer call him fucking the baby leaning on me like I can't fucking he said you'll be okay son and I went go on and there's been loads of bullshit about him and it's a load of bullshit yeah because I've known him for a long time and I know that whole story as well and that whole story's a load of bullshit.
17:43Fucking hell, we lived around him, lad. We was there with him every day. Nah, he's a good guy. He's a weirdo, yeah? Because that's the way he is. That's how he keeps us fucking... as fighters on point because we're all scared of him, lad. We're all worried about what he's thinking. Never sitting there watching you. You watch it from the corner. If he's standing next to you, you're pretty safe. He's not looking at you, you know what I mean? What was your first ever fight like? Do you remember? My first ever fight, I stood there. I stood there in the back and I wanted the world to swallow me up and then I went to my coach who was my mucker at the time he said have you seen him he said yeah lad he's about 6 '2 big black kid I went because then he was just same day weighing go and have a straightener go on sweet and he called me out first and I was standing behind this metal door the atmosphere was mad because it was where it was we Swansea or somewhere somewhere in Wales and first thing to me is oh how can you get out of this now what can you do do you know what I mean and fuck it went out and after that I just thought what a fucking there's nothing there's nothing that compares to that it's man on man shutting the door what like it's not like we're outside like a knob there's no like there's no team helping you there's no one it's you versus that guy the biggest will the biggest wants to win because it's not always about skill that it's not always about skill to me what you're thinking then did you think you had a career at that moment no i was just still splitting bobby's i was flat out on the graph me i didn't i didn't stop crafting until i got slipped got my second fight in the ufc so for me it was just a hobby that and then i fought everyone and i was and then i was lined up to fight paul daly this is how i got the ufc contract i was lined up to fight Paul Daly and I got battered by Plod on Noxy Shops yeah so I had to cancel the flight Plod battered me gave me hematoma and then he come to the cell and he said to me you're going to grass and I went to open the door and not arsed let me out and I'll fucking go home I was just not arsed I said well then fuck off So what happened the corpus do you?
19:59Just nailed me lad on the side road I was pulled over on the side road and I had a BM I've always done okay do you know what I mean I haven't fucking broke the world's bank but lad I've always been like I've always had nice car whatever so we um so i'm in a pm and i'm pulled up on noxy shops and prod just whip us out stand us by the road and the search isn't it some bird went past the mentality i put fucking sickies but it was matrix and then um she said because a lot of people are in them areas like at that time i haven't been there for a long time do you know i mean but at that time they were giving everyone a hard time all the time car plants do what they want um so when i And one walked past and says, yeah, I'm sick, blah, blah, blah.
20:40And he went, excuse me, love, we'll ask you for that, you fucking tramp. And I went, I was going to say something to you about that. Might have said something worse, don't you know what I mean? But something along them lines, lad, they just all check me in. But as they've checked me in, I've grabbed the back of one of them. Because I'm in fight mode, I'm training for fights. I'm like, I'm training to fight. I was active then. I was training to fight Paul Daly for the K-Draid title. That was what it was about then, K-Draid. and me and Paul, lad, we should have fought so many times and every single, so that happened that time and we got lined up again and then I got my UFC contract so I went with the UFC and I got Paul Taylor and that was my Paul Taylor fight but I was going to fight Paul Daly and then at the end he's kicked in and said, look lad, me the timing fight will be having it.
21:27I said, let's go lad, fuck it because me fucking, and then I went to jail, I think. I think that's what's happened there. Every time you've called a fight with him Something bad's happened I would just put it fucking under the radar So you were 7-0 I was 7-0 7-0 flying What are you thinking? Did you have the confidence That you could have went somewhere? Or was it still just madness? I remember walking through time And I say this all the time Because it's a memory And I was 12-stone And I batted everyone Do you know what I mean? So I remember I had a beard on either arm And I remember thinking to myself I'm the hardest 12-stone kid On the planet and that was what my mentality was and then I got beat by Marcus Davies and got me fucking eye wiped do you know what I mean because Marcus Davies choked me and I was like what's happened there I'd never get caught with that even muppy I think the moment got to me that this episode is brought to you by Palmolive family time isn't just the big moments it's weeknight dinners sitting around the table everyone talking all at once so when the plates are empty and the sink is full use Palmolive Ultra Palmolive's most powerful formula removes up to 99.9 % of grease, leaving your dishes sparkling clean.

Everybody knows my love for Dan, but he's just as much as a mad bastard as you. Lad, he's the same as me, and that's why I stay on his bumper and whatever else, because I want him to smash life, lad.
23:16He's a fucking pelter. Yeah, well, I don't want him to fuck himself up, you know what I mean? I've fucked myself up a few times, lad, which is why he's in dubs now. I'm gone. I'm going to live there. There's not an ear for me in this country, but I'm in jail, do you know what I mean? So, but me and Darren, Darren come in the gym as a kid yeah at maybe 16 him and Elliot two young kids that were just gangsta they'd just fight with men do you know what I mean and then he went over to Brazil nailed everyone there got his UFC contact lad and to be fair he was a fucking hard little cunt didn't he I hate him lad I hate him lad because we have fucking smoke all the time yeah and I can't back to answer him so he smashed that when he came to the UFC that when they came out there it was in liverpool when they came out of sweet caroline yeah yeah like he smashed that and he was so close to getting the world title he was close i think he was put forward too early maybe two fights too early do you not think so no maybe no i think it was just that one of them things he got clipped with he got clipped that's not what he's doing now what he's doing now i questioned whether that's going to be the right choice just stay where you but it's worked out for him and no one likes that fucking big right hand he's got a hit so hard not blowing smoke up his ass because I can't stand the gun but he really hits he's got a big left lad and until you feel it you'll have no grasp of the power of it I've seen it by everyone I was at his last fight man and he looked sharp he looked fucking good that's the best I've seen him he's actually moving better now than I've seen him at the UFC different style of fight now isn't it his feet are closer together it's a different style boxers aren't MMA fighters in an MMA fight everything becomes an issue.
25:00The size of the 36 foot cage is one. The mat that you're standing on, you know, your feet are closer together because you're not worried about clothes to take down. Everything is a different style of fight. So he's had to relearn the whole fucking style, ain't he? Which is what I'm going to do if I do fucking box, lad. So when did the UFC come calling? When did Dana White come calling? They come after they went assigned for that fight because I'd had three fights in three weeks. and a tough Welsh kid called Jordan James fourth on with a broken hand because you're always injured in a fight like I said I fought twice with a broken ribs I've always got broken hands I've decided I'm tiny but you just get on with it strap your hands up and then cut the fucking things off later you have to cut your gloves off later because your hands are all fucked up and swollen go and ice them you're good for a couple of weeks you're good most of the shame Dana wait when did the UFC come calling so Dana Dana because I was armed he's been going all the time when I first met Dana I showed Dana the porno that I made the night before in the hotel and it starts and as I go like that I go yous can't see this is an interview in in America because me and Mike had got me and Mike had got a gotru me, him and then there was like five or six other people they end up taking Ross Pointing but I was too small but I nailed everyone on the the trials but they chose Ross because that's that version he was big and he's a character any lad it's a tv show for characters and then the second one so that's odd so that's what i was thinking to myself how do you stay in his mind there and he said how is you travel down here when to be fair end up having a little party in the hotel nearly missed the flighty all over that and he just heard me go on you sicky bit you low room started laughing lad so it was it was just he remembered me from that forever every time he'd see me go here's him with the porno all right sound daft but so so were you training to get into the contender I was nah I was going to get on the ultimate fighter ultimate fighter I was going to get on the ultimate fighter but then so then they they went to put me on the ultimate fighter but didn't didn't invite anybody else I was the I was the pick and it was lightweight all you had to do was make lightweight which is why I stuck it as middleweight so I started making my way down to lightweight and hey when my test results come back I'd come back that I'd had gear in my system.
27:25Yeah, from Deca, lad. Trust me, lad, I don't have juice. So, my hand coach, I don't, because it doesn't do nothing for me. I don't feel no benefit from it. And he gave me Deca like six months before for injury to try and fix me knee. Or a year, it might have even been a year before. And Deca was still in my system for none. I was like, wow. If I'd have known like that, I would have cleared it out, you know what I mean? So then, they never said nothing over it. I explained, look, I had an injury time ago. I don't know if it was still going to be there. And he just gave me a contract then. Matt, the UFC president at the time, not Dinah, the marshal's name was European president.
28:04We ended up going to Piccolino's name and Mike. And then I was there and I said, well, you've got Paul Taylor. He's flying. You know, let's do the first Brits on the card. And that's what we've done. First Brits, lad. We had a row. What was that feeling? Because UFC wasn't as big then. What are you talking about 20 years ago? Nah, fuck off. There's gotta be 15, it's gotta be, lad, because I've been in jail 13 years. Do you know what I mean? I'd have just finished at 13 now, to the day, so... And that is the full 13 you got out of me. So, it must have been 20 fucking years ago. Wow, Debbie, that.
28:4123. 23 and 41. 18 years ago. So 18 years ago, because UFC was just... Once they started bringing in the Ultimate Fighter, it changed everything. Yeah. It changed the UFC. Yeah. Because I think they were going bust At one point They were 30-40 miles Yeah they were Yeah but they killed it Smashed it now Smashed around One of the biggest up there With boxing but What was the feeling then When the UFC Because obviously you wouldn't have Known how big it was going to be Yeah well I was still around it Because I was with Rampage And I was with Mike I was with Congo I was in and around it I was experiencing it all the time So I'd do the camps with them Look I used to be When Rampage fought Vandalay Silva I'd done this across the cage for him I said to three ounce gloves I'd start the first two minutes and finish the last two minutes we'd have a referee so I'd be out after two next one intercamps were done aiming just for Vandalee do you know what I mean me and Rampage just used to rip her up and set her three years lad and then he chose in and ran her all the time but after that fight he gave me his chain and said I wouldn't have won that without you I said I'm dead closer page lad dead closer page love Congo speak to Mike all the time still do you know what I mean but so what was it like then how many things did you have in the UFC 7 9 I think 9 9 lads yeah I think for me lad I got asked to come to Lightweight when BJ Pen 4 Frankie Edgar to beef up the division so they asked me to come down to Lightweight and I put that as the worst career move probably that I've ever made and me coach at the time said it to me he said you're going to boil yourself down you're going to feel like shit and then I fought a guy I went down to Lightweight I fought a guy this guy i thought was six foot four or something and i fought him and then i come in the back i come in the back after it i said to me coach not for me that i felt weak i wasn't used to feeling like that i'm used to having a girl and having a brekkie weighing in the scales i'm not asked if you're a bit bigger than me if you come onto me and fight in the street that fight in the street i'd rather feel the best i can but i got tapped at lightly for like five fights six fights and And that's where my losses come now.
30:50Do you know what I mean? As soon as I went back to the world, it felt great. What was it like getting your first loss? Heartbreaking, like, as you will. Shatters, like I said, I was walking through the town thinking I was king of the world, wasn't I? And the reality, that, which a lot of fighters do. I think the UFC, I think the UFC is fucking, it's the sharks, isn't it? So for a fighter coming through with as little experience as I had. I didn't have no wrestling backhand, no boxing backhand. I'd had six fights. I'd nailed them all in the first minute. I'd only ever been into the second round once and then I'm fighting on there.
31:28I think if I could have gone a different path, the decisions could have been made that I'd made along the way, in hindsight, looking back. But like I said, I don't regret nothing. I got lost in what I was talking because I'm fucking punch drunk. But I think the point I was making was if you're marketable and you do your job for the UFC don't turn up and be a scouser like me and Terry Adam was and go yeah yeah just gonna do that because it wasn't like where do you know what I mean if you're a bit outspoken and you're a little bit more because like did you ever see Terry Adam how talented he was but he's the most talented fighter I've ever been on the mat with it's so ridiculous at the time as well and he could have he should have won a title he should have won a he should have been the first but it took I think to win the title but at that moment in time lad Do you regret it?
32:19Do I regret what? Like not giving it 100 % cleaning up the act Nah I did lad I did give it 100 % when I took a machete to the face I went full pilled I done nothing else which is why now when people offer me fights now I've learned that I think now when people offer me fights now I think to myself I've got to put everything else aside because I'm fucking 41 So you got a machete on the face when you were two fights into your UFC? Yeah, I would have been about 20, 23, I think, 24. Did they know what happened? They know. No. No, I think I slipped it because I had to get a face surgeon to do my face.
32:59I went straight to our mate who was a face surgeon. Sierra has all the best active and outdoor brands for the super athletic stuff, like running gear for cruising up the trail. Woo! I was rang in my bells and said, lad, I need to come to yours. Just jumped on his couch while he saw it. They're also lost my suit. And then they've been fake ever since then, but don't they see it? Yeah. I want to get my teeth done tomorrow. Was that a wake-up call for you to then focus on it because you know how short it can be? I don't know, lad. I don't really know because I don't really I don't really look into it that much yeah I just like it's part of life we move we have to do what we need to do and I could have avoided some of the things in my life probably but do you know what I mean my life it's hard that that's why I'm gone so I'm not in or around any bullshit I'm gone going to live my life in the sunshine for my children that's the best way but I think like I say you're one of the first to be in the UFC from the UK you're one of the first and a lot of people from the UK a lot of people might learn from the stuff that you've done not to do that if you know what I mean nah I don't know that's it when you look with Paddy the Baddy and stuff they've got quite outspoken but they're more that shit he can pull you in that shit he can pull you in and if you're used to what you're in and then you you know what are you going to do but but like if they do learn like me now I wouldn't go near a drug if you fucking paid me all the money in Timbuktu wouldn't go near it I don't need to earn enough money without it my profile on my my networking my profile don't know if that's like weird but I can shift the move I've sat behind the door in jail every single day they took like six phones off me the one because they'd fucking take my door off in the morning I was just bouncing the thing on the arse and go and grab that.
35:39And he was coming back after dinner. And in the end, he just ended up copying me. But, lad, the first eco cost me 75, because there or thereabouts, yeah, and shut me businesses. Because I got out of there with not a pot of pissing. I didn't have a pound. Look, lad, when I say I didn't have a pound, yeah, I'm going to say this, because, you know, I'm not asking someone for that. I don't know. I remember one time not having enough money to get through the tunnel because I was that skinned. So then, I ended up having a fight. Ended up having a fight and selling the gaff out. Yeah, that's what I'm saying.
36:17That's why I had to fight the broken ribs. I had to get it done. And then from then, I lumped a lot into Diana and I started bringing bikes back, the surround bikes. And then I just used my thing and kept myself moving forward. Why am I telling you this? why we should be talking whatever we got to leave so say the last fight you had in the UFC was it Cowboy? Cowboy in the last fight yeah yeah Cowboy lads yeah how was he? to be fair he was alright he was a nervous fighter so I knew that he was a nervous fighter so I knew that I'd get at him fast early I'm not a nervous fighter I'm coming at you I knew he had everything every arse now but if I run him back and I put him if I can smell his breath he's in my world do you know what i mean so that's what i've done and i uh he scored a takedown in the first so i reckon i don't know but open to that i was speaking to him saying come on because the day before i don't after after maybe marcus davies that was he you're not my friend before we fighting because with paul taylor we were giving each other hugs and i had the time to take half years old ass get a fuck and that was the way my mentality was then you're not coming to get me shit lads man you lose half your purse if you lose so I had that mentality then moving forward so I'm standing there with the IRS they're saying to me that I can't put me they're saying to me I can't put me check through as Paul Kelly MMA limited because I saved myself 35 % on every underground that I earned which is a lump lad and then he turned up at this show and said you can't do it you're going to have to put your books in And so I'm like having this little bit of back and forth with him saying, no, he's aren't doing that.
38:05Pay that, pay me cheque to that company. And then he bumps into me at the side. So I'm already pissed off. I've turned around to go, lad, what, lad? We going now? And he's gone, put his hand out. So he shook his hand and said, tweet, let's go tomorrow. There's more to this than money. Lad, I wanted to be known. I wanted to, I wanted to, so I'm punch drunk now. I wanted to be in boss fights. I wanted to be in fights where everyone, you know, they're going down as like the last one. 99 in history we got me and paul taylor but if you watch me and troy mandalona's belta we killed each other not as recognized by it so it didn't make the good um so i wanted to be i wanted to be one of them fighters so then oh yes it was bumped into me so then i've shook his hand because i don't do it and then i said but tomorrow it's on he's walked out and i could see he's a bit nervous and he's gone like that to shake his hand to touch I've just must have done it but then Joe Rogan made a massive deal out of it he didn't say I've won through them on the bell why did you want to fucking touch me anyway lads did you want to shut me dick while we're fucking having a fight lads chill out do you know what I mean maybe looking back I always say that I never stole it on because I never if you watch me Paul Taylor we touched and I went to work and that's what we do all the time you watch it back without silence it sounds fucking I've seen him kind of make it kick someone in the face when they go to touch and that half got me sacked that lad I reckon Joe made a bit of a deal out of it didn't he and then the half sacked me after that the half said look go and get a fight and I'm like are you mad I've just fought to Roni I got fight to the night he's given me 70 grand I've fought to every fight that I've never I've never pulled a fight I've fought with broken ribs when I fought to the civet it fucking stitches in my eye I've I always come after the check I always come after the fight purse do you know what I mean pissed me off lad is that what you were getting 70 grand I think nah I was lad I was getting paid good though then I think more than what some of them are now lad to be honest that was a long time ago that last month was only with the bonus yeah I got a 70 grand bonus for that which was alright and he paid a tax on that as well yeah but they still get paid buttons for what they do in that organisation now they do but not if they're not doing the job going back now I wish it would have been more vocal you've got to sell you've got to be a promoter look what you've done with Paddy the Baddy and what you've done with Conor McGregor they with the ticket sellers they're the people that come there they wear the card they do it fucking brilliant they earn the money that's why they get so much dough but that means that you can be matched towards your fever you can grow as a fighter like a boxer grows they don't throw boxing in with a fucking someone that's going to nail them there's levels and you have to learn your weight through your levels that's how boxers do it they won't go right you're fighting him you've had seven fights you're going to go and fight this 25 and old dagestani it doesn't make no sense so if the if the promoter works with you because you're working for them you're doing their job for them that i think you can be matched to your skill set to the point that you feel invincible yeah it's man management my money just forget the right management so i never had none of that i I just used to go ahead, send me the contract.
41:25I'm a last. How did the UFC come to an end then? You just said, go and get a fight, go and get a fight and go back. And then I just thought to myself, fuck off. Be arsed. And then was lost for a little bit. And then, yeah. Ended up in the shovel, didn't I? What did you get, 13? 13 years, yeah. Which was a stitch-up, lad. 13 years for a key and a half, lad. And I saved 13 years for it. I've been out. Like I said, I got outskinned By the time I got recalled I was doing alright The first time They recalled me for that porno Everyone It just went everywhere People were sending me from Thailand I don't even know how it got leaked Because it wasn't on my phone So fuck knows But it done its own And then The plot come to recall me.
42:23Seen how many plot there was. Like 15 plots or something. I'm standing there serving someone in the shop. Because I've got a restaurant. At the time I got recalled, I had a restaurant. With the garage and everything else. I was half busy. Employed eight people. And they walked in and said, yeah, poor Kelly. I said, what's up? He said, recall back to prison for 28 days. I said, what for? He said, bad behaviour. So, he goes upstairs at me. And as I'm packing my bag, I had this, like, little Al Lonsdale bag that I keep all, like, you know them little, like, little those that you can play on your phone and fucking paddles and shit, yeah?

43:03So I've tipped them out on the bed all my little sex toys, and he's gone, eh, it's half on the weekend. And I've looked at him to go, what? He's gone, eh, oh, yeah, the whole police force has seen it. So all the problems have been sending that porno around. I get recalled. No explanation, no interview, nothing like that. end up going to Birmingham I'm saying to them for ages what the fuck have I done what have I done you should recall me what for consensual sex I didn't even film the fucking thing erm but they wouldn't say they wouldn't say it to me and then she said that on the phone to me I was talking to me and she said on the video and I said see there you go that's what it is the Sun newspaper done a big article on it Sierra has all the best active and outdoor brands you need from athletic stuff like a full court pick up game Swish!

44:39symptoms noted are signs of mild to moderate dehydration consult a healthcare professional if symptoms persist and to be fair the sun news The sun newspaper made me sound like a pimplot. So where did you get the info from? I don't know. Like I'm living like fucking kingpin, you know what I mean? You have to. You have to, lads. But then to that didn't help. They'd done a two-page spread in a sun. And then they just gave me full recall. Sat in front of a judge ten months later after it's cost me lumps. And he goes in. He said, what's the charges? I said, mate, I've been saying this for nine months.
45:12I've done fuck all. Consensual sex with females. they filmed the fucking thing and he went at the end of the interview at the end of the parole it's like four hours long you're parole he said go behind your door and pack your stuff you're going home you're not waiting for three weeks you go home on Monday that was the Friday went home on the Monday went home on the Monday and then he recalled me six months later for a burglary on a watch and this time ever told you about this or did I tell you about this in a car before so he asked you this time I'm walking I'm at the national and he grabbed me arm I'm half sober I'm a little bit pissed I've had a bit of magic I'm not heavy You know what I mean I'm walking down A stupid sunbed And he goes Copper grabs my arm And goes I looked at him I went What are you doing mate?
46:00He went You've just smacked that guy I went Lad What are you talking about Looking at my knuckles lad Have you just smacked anyone Get off my arm? I'm looking at him With these big stupid Fucking thick glasses Ginger there I'm not talking to myself I'm not even talking to you Lad so i've gone to bail yeah because like he's not catching me this ginger so as i go to run i'm in a pair of shift lickers and go flat on me face and they just don't go and dive on top me there was a video knocking now where i'm lying on my back going go on shine let me up so they interviewed me interviewed me and i'll turn a top piece of the paper over phil i've told you this before turn a top piece of the paper over and it's an arse of conduits because you wouldn't interview me that night.
46:42I'm saying interview me now. I'm not even pissed. I'm sober. They drug tested me. Not a single drug in my system. Yeah.
46:50So, I turned the top piece of the paper over and it's an Al Seconda watch. Yeah. A green Tiffany face Seconda watch that you got out of the Argos. I said, what's that meat? He said, that's the watch that's being stolen. I said, who buy that? What are you talking about? Go and look at the watch you've just took off my wrist. Why am I going to steal this?
47:14so at the end but as he's talking to me the other two guys they've said that you're not with them well what are the two guys because you haven't showed me a picture of any two guys to say who's no this is me and myself thinking about it afterwards they're saying they've showed the pictures of this guy and they're saying they're not with me okay sweet so show us the picture of them two it's only me that's the issue here so then they recall me to prison i go straight down the block because that jail's hard for me no it's not when i'm in a capi prison if i'm in a capi prison i'm good in a catchy prison they treat me i'm like hannibal lecter that i'm like i can't be in kitchen because i can't be around knives i can't be around stuff because they sell conditioned stuff which means i gotta gotta get a gang around i can't be um the only thing boiled down the only thing i could do was art yeah drawing art every day and turned out to be more right than art.
48:10That's what I had to swear, lad. I used to go down stoned every day because I just shit on my phone and stoned all day in jail now because there's no... It's not like there's benefit for me. I can't go anywhere. I'm just like fucking locked off in my room 23 hours a day or I'm going to art. I'm not allowed out my cell. If I come out my cell, they go to me, they stand at my door and watch me go and get water. I might get off my bumper. But I think that's down again to the same situation where I got recalled. All these things that went along that happened to me have been manipulated by powers that have got the power to manipulate me because i've always had my jail nice i got on with the kangas and lad i don't i'm not a bully or nothing you know i got on with the i got on with the lads and i'm a mickey so we're all together um see when you got your 13 what was your charge the charge they gave me 13 years and i saved enough the full 13 was a key and a half a swag but i got a not guilty on it and a own jury yeah i just shined to fight Michael Tiana today from Bellator Bellator gave me 250 paid me up front to fight Michael Tiana it was after the Sharoni fight i didn't want to shine with Bellator because the contract was a mirror image of the UFC contract and you can't get out of that it's till the end of time within the known universe is the is the wording of the contract so i didn't want to lock in today i wanted to go back to UFC but after a year and a half goes by and fucking stupid super fight league lad that dragged me over there 35 hours the day before the fight and then fight out of fight outdoors in Indian heat with no corner because we've got no corner got no one to ah Gary and me mate me go D they were the only ones where the visa it was just a backward thing and I just thought because I'm just gonna go go ahead sweet let's have it turned up lad a minute into the fight I couldn't bring looking over at our kid life hey lad how long just trying to get jumping choking choking them but lack of preparation I should have been there three weeks before should have climatised I should have been outside training in that climate instead I got a 30 I had to go from California to San Francisco because the visa could they didn't organise my visa because I was English applying for an Indian visa living in California yeah because I was living over there I had to go San Francisco Germany Germany, Germany, New Delhi, New Delhi, Shandigra, and then 4th the next day.
50:40What was your training camp like? I was fit, lad. I'm always fit when I'm in the training camp. Outside of my training camp, I wish I would have lived my life a little bit better, because I'm not hungry, because I love birds, you know what I mean? I like partying, I like going out and fucking about, you know what I mean? I wish I wouldn't have. I wish I would have hung fire, because you think, I'm young, I've got to get it done now, but I'm old and still got it done now. I'd have a boss time now. what were you thinking then when you got a 13 because if you're in the UFC and obviously you must have seen it get bigger and bigger every year like was that a hard thing to have Conor McGregor done that I remember sitting on the toilet yeah I remember sitting on the toilet wiping me ass with the echo because the screw wouldn't pass me no toilet roll because once you do it's lost lad if you can be arsed they'll just tell you to fuck off and the week before I was thinking thinking about when I was on my interview, when I was on my interview with me in the because they interviewed me for six hours, lad.
51:39They interviewed me for six hours and I didn't come into the conspiracy till like I drove down the street and picked someone up, you know what I mean? Bullshit. So, but they slid this piece of paper across and it was one of my tweets. I don't use Twitter no more. I feel like a tit. I feel like a tit doing this, do you know what I mean? Me Insta the fuck about on me Insta. That's funny innit do you know what I mean but eh so I remember tweeting a picture of some bird rolling some bird's arse and a set of rollerblades as she was going past me where I lived Pacific Coast Highway was there and it's like a concrete pad that goes right the way along the Pacific Coast Highway so you can jump on the bike and you can go along the Pacific Coast anyway right along the beach it goes it's lovely lad if you've never traveled America and you get to go to a place called huntington beach yeah which is it's just on the pacific coast iowa in california last up i love it there just a way of life that's where like t-thos from rampages from bisping lives low tiki lives it's gangster um what was you saying there about that oh yeah skates oh sure took a picture of this bird and i was eating acai bowl and I remember genuinely thinking I'm fucking made up, I've made this move this is my life now do you know what I mean, because I made the move I knew something had happened I didn't want to be roped into it I packed my shit and I fucked off I was trying to get my kids ma Jenny to come over but me being me and being a Bella and that I was, I was always carrying on weren't I so she wouldn't come over because something had happened with another bird and blah blah blah i'm saying come over i've got a boss house in fountain valley it's for the big for the baby i had not even yeah it was me you phoebe generally mean and she wouldn't come over so i changed my flight to go back and got nicked on the conspiracy otherwise like that being california was never coming home me never i changed my flight to go back from from india because i'd lost the fight i wanted to see my daughter and then i stayed home for a funeral so but instead of changing my flight to go through germany um i went to dubai and home and then got nicked on the conspiracy from here before but i don't regret nothing you know i don't i don't regret for all my life's in a good place i've got healthy kids too i only see but i know me other little boy i know he's winning i just wish i could see him um but all my kids are happy madden i live a boss life flat for someone that's done as much jail as you have.
54:18The amount of times you should have been dead. Do you know what I mean? I can't complain. How was it in jail, though, when you actually seen the UFC? Because it did get stronger every year. Like, was there much? I know you say you don't regret, but did you think I should have been there? You know what I'd done, lad? I'd put my head into the books and I tried because I couldn't read before I went to jail. And I thought, I'm a wife and my kids. I'm not such a... So this is the first time, lad. But each jail sentence means different because you go in there with a different mindset. I went to jail in a shoot trying to be an upstanding member of the community.

Sweetgreen's fall harvest is back on the menu and the season's most overlooked little green vegetable is dressed to be devoured.
55:32You know what to do. Order on the Sweetgreen app. Now I'm like that to them when they're fucking, and when they're trying to say to me your licence conditions, I'm like, yes, they're yours. It's like I'm a different person now and I don't think you can go through. You can't go through what I've been through. And I'm not saying it like I'm any different person than anyone that goes through it. It's a lonely, dark place. It's a violent place if it needs to be. It's impossible to come out the same person that you went in. So, like, people that have got, like, fucking family, The simplest thing, everyone's on the phone.
56:11And if they're not, whatever. You know, a postal order for 20 quid will do them the world of good. Because you sit there, you're not asking your family for money. You know, but you're not doing it. You feel like a tramped ass. You feel like, oh, will you put some money in me account? Fuck off. And that's what the reality of life is. So it becomes like your little community. So for me, in that community, I'm okay. Because I get to eat. And then everyone gets to eat. And then we all link in together. there and then Again down to the character and who you are, jail can be, it's just a community that's taken out.
56:47You're fucking, the wall's there after that wall, family's daylight. I've had them in Walton, it's fucking two minutes from where my shop is. Are you locked off from the world, Danny? What was the worst thing you seen in, Pleasant? I'd rather seen some sick shit to be fair when I was in guard somewhere seeing a kid trying to get his face cut off when they moved me off the wing I was dead tight with a kid and because me and this kid he's IPP I don't want to say his name but bald he knows who he is so fucking we were dead tight together and we were solid together it's all for kid um and then i had this mad mad mad barney with a guy who's turned out to be my proper mate no or really really tight love the bones of him madera who got a life mate for me there when he was younger at 19 and he's just in there lad just a beast he's like so not fucking i just put 140 gear above his head like it's known and then runs flat out and he's There's no pinch of fat on him.
57:56It's just that guy, you know what I mean? But we ended up there close to it. After that, after I had that altercation with him, the screws have said, poor girl, you don't need to remind him that he's a prisoner. You don't need to remind him he's a prisoner. You're moving him off the wing. So then the screws, because lad, I used to come back. I used to have, sounds a bit cheesy, but the truth, so I'm not chatting shit. Because you'll have a little bit of smoke in there. I had it all right. so I used to have books strapped around my stomach and then I'd have one of them belly band things that you make you lose your weight I'd strap that around the book because if someone tries to shave you you know at least it's a little bit of protection and they'd say to me and they'd know and they'd let me go the screws they knew so but then when I'd come back on the wing I'd go into the office and they'd be like right here's the name's a list of people that are coming on who do you want on and who do you want off and I fucking did bring me a cup of coffee in, lad.
58:51It was a bit mad. Do you know what I mean? But I had it nice because I was a move. Pretty sweet. I'm not a big fan of bullying, lad. I'm not a big fan of... But then, as I've come through the system now, it's got nothing to do with me. I stay hard of it. I end up caught up in everyone's shit all the time. And especially if you're a scouser, because you've got to all stick together. So I worked my way through the best I could. I had a few a few ick ups lad and I had a few missus but like one of them I went down on me nicking which could have been a real bad nicking and on it I went to go down to say look if I'm nicked for this what's your jail in a minute do you know what I mean and as I sat down she went don't start moaning nicking dismissed where they put on the top of the nicking sheet HMP Longland it's just something simple like a typo in jail that it means to not guilty there's loads of ways around the nicking in jug if you know the system so out of all the that went on i think i've been there with a pissy piss test and they copied me they recategorized me to go higher into the into the prison this is like a couple of a couple of recourse down the line you know what i mean what's the worst thing about prison paul missing your kids rat missing your kids because you're shatty and all of fucking provider in the world, lad.
1:00:19When you're locked in that room on your own and you're thinking about your children and how much they're growing because don't forget my son was three weeks old. He's, I only got out last week finished the sentence and he's 13 now. My daughter's driving. My daughter was getting a car. She's my best mate, my daughter. So, I've missed her whole life, for a key and a half, lad. What are you talking about? So when you go out the first time, were you ever thinking about going back and fighting? Nah, when I got out, I committed myself to that I retired. Like, me dad's a boxer. Me dad boxed. Done all right.
1:00:52Me daddy got to the AB finals and lost to a Schumacher. At the time, Schumacher nailed everybody. It wasn't no shame to lose to. Me uncles were good boxers. So I grew up in a boxing family. As a little fat cunt. I was a fucking, do you know what I mean? Just a little fat cunt. Especially after my leg was a fat cunt. So the only reason I fought was to, like, tick that box. I said I fought. And I ended up doing better than all of them. What about the gym You train and Colin Because I know He's been a good coach For a lot of people Who he's got to the UFC Yeah How important was he For your life Do you think All your coaches Mario Sucata Was my first coach Wasn't he Mario and then One of the Another guy That I fell out with But Mario Taught me how to be a man Because I was a rag ass And I was Do you know what I mean And I'm in the gym And I'm fighting with These big Brazilian dudes Every day And you leave every day With a fucking black eye And your lips Are done Your head You're fucked every day and you go back the next day you can't speak a word of english because it weren't the same then these were just all big dudes and there was just me turning up at the gym just to have a strainer so mario took a little shine into me so when we went when we used to go to vegas he used to go i'll you jump in with me just have a laugh and he was my coach and he's the biggest hardest most humble dude can fight like i don't know about that big but mario shukata he's a good coaching then I fell out with the two owners of the gym and had to leave the Walslay I had the Walslay tattooed across my back and when I done that in my face that was for them they was my mate at the time and just turned out to be that squad we had just me to talk to a few people what about Colin Colin's a belter so then when I've left here when I've left here it's hard where do you go I've Being a loyal fucking wolf slayer lad my whole life.
1:02:43Any other team was not even a question. Don't know, this is my family. I've got a tattoo across my back. It's gone now. And then Colin's one of them guys who fucking, he's a strange cat and he's, everyone used to go, you know, and he is a strange cat lad, but he's a fucking good guy. He's a good coach and he'll do anything for you. He'll be there no matter what. Not for financial gain, because we all earn good money. We all earn good money and the money earners at the time Carbon Ladder had like what 8 UFC fighters or something probably more and then there was people travelling there all the time it was just an active mat because of how it was run so on a Tuesday it was Terror Tuesdays on the way to Terror Tuesdays back then this is why we've all got fucking CT by the way on the way to Terror Tuesdays of a morning you'd be nervous it's a fight there's no music on the door gets locked the room's steaming you've probably got 30 fighters on the mat who can all fight.
1:03:41People from Denmark, people from fucking everywhere, yeah? And there's little living quarters in the back. But Colin would never allow no filming and there was never no music. So you turn up to this fucking set of juice, these nervous, and everyone's putting their wraps on and stretching their arms out. And then we'd spark 10 rounds back to back. So when you turn around, whoever's there is getting it. After you finish your five minutes, you change. your rest was however long it takes you to get to your next opponent it was a 50 minute spa and it was violent if you ever got a chance to sit and watch if you were injured do you know what I mean if something's giving you a niggle or you're half fucked because you can't cry in there I won't name him because he goes on like he's a fucking a bad man and he's not I probably remember him sitting on a mat after he just had a bit of a rat, it's terror Tuesdays, lad.
1:04:37This is intense. Everyone's got blood everywhere. People are fucking... Because there's just one big open mat and there could be, like, you know, ten fights probably. The cages and the thing and everyone's just going full pelt. And his kid's hurt himself when he was there with, like, starting to cry, lad. And I just thought, wow, this is just not this place for you, lad. Like, there's no sympathy there. Like, if someone sees you crying in there, It's like, wow. Do you know what I mean? But that's why it made everybody so tough. And it was a good gym, lad. Everyone was active, Faraday. They were sharp.
1:05:14After I fought Paul Terry, we ended up signing partners. So we're having a signing with him. Fucking hell, I must have had about 400 fights with him, lad. How do you not get sharp with that? What was the one at the horse racing? You got the Jair as well. And it was mistaken identity. The lad was walking down the street from the ground. So I got off after porno. The dog, that he said, let him out. I can't like it like that, can't you? So we got out off the porno. And then, um, it was Gilly's Stagter. Gilly's is the bad man. Four Corners, Four Corners is Gilly's, Jim. And, um, he takes us on the pads every day.
1:05:51So I was going, my dad said, you're not going to National Laid. I said, yeah, why? He went, oh, lads, you can't go to National Laid. They're just going to try and nick you. I said, Eddie, you can't live in a fucking jail cell. because I'm worried that plod are going to nick me for something which my dad's worry is they're just going to nick you for something so and he still moans about it like I shouldn't have went so I went to national I was stone cold sober he grabs hold of me arm this guy fucking copper didn't I just tell you this story then I did tell you it then but nobody knows why it happened did you just go through it again yeah so so he grabs me arm and I go to run and he nicked me for robbing a second watch then six months later I'm banging on or sorry three months later I'm on time every day saying if I've done this yeah you've got me in jail which by the way I'm down the block because I'm I'm safer down the block so if I'm down the block all they've got to do is open my door and put me on a cell on my own and then I come back into the room on my own I don't see nobody I'm not around anyone that's the safest place where they're just being fucking assholes with me lads yeah so I'm spending my time down the block i come straight out the block and then the security moved me to inley and i'm from inland i just had a twat of a time going through again i think it was definitely 100 set up by powers that be because they said i robbed the watch i've got the piece of paper that says the guy's six foot two in his 20s with a comb over wearing a black hugo boss top and jeans and i only got that because i'm banging on at them to say hey if i've done this he's taking me to fucking to an ID parade to see if I've done it.
1:07:31And when I'm in the Viper lounge, I grab the piece of paper and stash it for when I get back to the jail. And I've got it in ours, six foot two in his 20s, first given description, so they knew this from the start. But in preparation for it, I'm thinking to myself, if I turn up on this ID parade, now someone recognises me, lad, cos they're a scouser, and I'm gonna go, I recognise him, I don't know where from, probably off Till's fucking Insta where I'm doing something stupid, innit? So, I don't, I cut weight And I shaved my hair So I turned up At the reception To go to the To go to the thingy And she looked And she opened my file And then shut the file And went And I went Yeah Flying Thinking that's worked Do you know what I mean So I went for my ID But I think maybe They seen that And taught cheeky guns But lad It wasn't me anyway I was trying to make sure That I didn't get seen Or recognised For Fucking being down the city And being a bit of a monk Do you know what I mean It probably like to you shaving your hair and thinking that counts yeah but you know it wasn't me anyway they knew that it wasn't me I'm not staring at somebody's watch you're mad but how was it I sell watches how is it though like when you're when you get a bit older and you're back again you know and you know how big the UFC is now because Cowboy was still fighting what last year two years ago I think with them lads though lad they've been active so the body because when you go fighting you go fighting and then you get to the point where your body's made of raw iron, nothing hurts it took years and years and years to condition your body to that point so when you go running, you haven't been running for a bit and your shin's hurt, after 30 miles they don't, same principle like your body softens, so when when Rampage, Rampage kicked in and said, what's the most of being paid for a fight, I said 120 he said, get ready for November I'm going to double it yeah, I'll get you trees of opponent so i'm like yeah 240 fuck that i'm fucking 39 let's go like i'm not gonna turn my nose at that get one fight in first and a nice irish firm have been banging on me for time and i like it like with these with these podcasts like i got asked to do these all the time what am i telling a story for now i'm only like same with me fighting i get offered fights all the time and i price myself out of the job because i'd only fight for that amount of money because that's how much money I'd probably earn if I didn't otherwise I'm cutting off myself so I priced myself out anyway they come back and said sound so I set a line up a fight as a pre-fight so that fight that year I would have done probably 340 in wages at 40 I couldn't complain at that told me a probation right again I'd have had a chance to know about that and he'd just gone fucking whipping away.
1:10:25Sat in the jail cell. So that's why this time I weren't letting them do it. I wasn't going to sit there and be skint. So I just, I sell me watches. And then me partner, he does all the running around. So I just sit in jail all the time and do the sales. And he'd finished, he'd run around the first thing. We've got busy with it. We've just opened a little place in the Lyva building, a little boss, a little office in the Lyva building. My actor flat, we're busy with them. Quality time pieces, a little plug for it. If you don't mind, follow it on Instagram. Have a look at the stuff we've got. That's good stuff.
1:11:02Yeah. It's good business. It's a good business. I think my life as before, I'm not a criminal. Yeah? My life as a criminal. You learn how to be good at business without any altercations. you can't have any altercations, you can't be late, your money can't be down, if you take something on you've got to deal with it before the time that you said you would you've got to deal with the pressures of the police, you've got to deal with the pressures of bellends not trying to pay the bills so that as a lesson in life sets you up for going legit but then since it being legit there's more crux in the legit world, there's no repercussion for not turning up and not paying your bill.
1:11:53So there's more corruption in the legit world, I've found, because I am fully legit, lad. I don't have enough, which is why they keep recalling me for bullshit if they had anything to recall me for. Seriously, lad, I'd be in jail. Did you ever come across Lee Murray? Never, you know, lad, but I would have... I always say I would have loved to fought Lee because we were both middleweights, and he's one-eyed cunt, lad, and I just think we're both the same age. months and you go that's one fight where you go oh fuck it like the poor daily fight it's just like go on fuck it do you know what I mean they're the fights that make you fucking your ass twitch you know but you must be the only two who got big sentences from the UFC no I don't know it's no British boys no man I think I think any fighter that gets to a point of the pinnacle sport when I say that I mean he gets to that point that he enjoys walking out to 20 ,000 people knowing 30 million people are going to watch him have a strainer he's not wired right which is why all fighters walk into the desi with a fucking no water or going to rampage down a fucking motorway in a daft car fighters are sideways lat until conor mcgregor you blended it you didn't fucking you didn't out speak you he was mind your p's and q's then he come along with this zero fucks attitude and then it give everyone else a little bit of leeway to do it and i think it's better, people are more real now, do you know what I mean, fighters are fucked up, fighters are sideways, I think, you can't get hit in the brain, as many times as you do, in a fight, you get a knee punch kicked, and you're doing 35 rounds a week, in a build up to a fight, it's barring, a lot of punishment on the head, and that's why I think, most fighters are cuckoo, which is why lad, like I said, I got off at a fight today, on Bernachal, and I've half agreed the price on, I've half agreed the price for it.
1:13:48But that is one of the main worries for me. What am I fighting for? Money. If it's just money that you're fighting for, is it the right fucking choice? So I need to get in. I need to see if someone hits me in this gym. I think, fucking come on. Because I mean, Taylor stand at the end of the thingy, at the end of the gym, and I could see his eyes. I'd be to the end. This is when he's fucking number two in the world. I've just done it Fucking six and a half years behind the door Because I just got out of jail Had one fight when I got out of jail didn't I And then you'll never lose that Fucking I'm in the shower Mentality Yeah When you're not alpha on the mat Do you belong on the mat If you haven't got alpha mentality on the mat Do you belong on the mat So like He'd be standing down the bottom And staring at me And I'd do the shame of him Nobody stands at the bottom Staring at me And I could fucking hear it What that What then that Do you know what I mean in or I turned and that was us we'd go first bar and we'd fucking kill each other so mentality I miss it lad I miss it but I've got to be realistic just speaking truly because I'm not a fake guy I want to fight I miss fighting I've got the commitment and the mindset for fighting because no matter how skilled you are if you're not you know how skilled you are which I've seen the most skilled fighters couldn't fight shit skilleders, like massive skilled like you think, wow, he's sick put him in a fight he couldn't fight sleep because it's a different mindset your mindset's what which is why which is why when you build a fighter to that mindset he feels invincible what makes a good fighter?
1:15:36discipline discipline rules every single thing and I say that because I've been a bit lazy the past since I've been out of jail I've been a bit sick but I don't take a day off training and I've had like I've trained probably three times in a week but I literally will not take a day off training and I see it as discipline even if I get up and do fucking 500 burpees do you know what I mean I make sure that I'm disciplined enough that I do it whether I want to do it or not do you know what I mean you never want to do it, sometimes you really never want to do it, but you get it done anyway that's where discipline, you don't need encouragement, you don't need someone fucking blowing smoke up your ass, come on let's get it done, come on, fuck off you need to have your own discipline to get it done yourself so that's what I miss out of fighting, if I would pick anything I would pick that late night run on a fucking ice cold freezing road, and I know fighters relate to this on your own sometimes you'll turn that music off I used to run with my dog, I'd have my dog but that's what I missed, that discipline of me no one gets in there with you no one comes to help you grow a pair of fucking balls and get it done and that discipline of going he's not outrunning, I'm going to get outrunning that's what I think I missed the most out of fighting that's why you probably still do it again then fuck off lad get it down the line fuck me sick my dad my dad proper doesn't want me to fight it's my dad that doesn't want me to fight he says lads you're hearing though I ain't alright though lad I do okay fighters fighters at my age who've got fucking who've got no other option but to fight that's their life if they get a fucking big payday lad I get fucking fight promotions off of my dough all the time and I say to people and they go lad fuck off I go yeah lad erm and they jump at that But then for me, that means I've got to go tunnel vision, everything else put to the side.
1:17:39No family life, no shagging, no partying, no fucking, no work. I'd have to slow down and work or I'd have to offload work. Because lad, I've been to Arzell a week, I've been to London twice. I've been to Arzell a week, lad, or two weeks, whatever it is. I've been to London twice, I've been to fucking the Midlands. Just up and down on the trains all day, lad, cracking on. Yeah, but that's a good thing, that's a healthy thing. It's good for me It's my driver It's what makes me happy What's the one thing I'm just about to say that Like what does make you happy? Air of money lad Because I know you man You're a good guy And I'm a little fee bro But Is that Like I want people to win you know But Is that the fear As if you battle A lot Well You battle A lot internally Mentally Just with live Trying to keep on a straight narrow But then the fuck it button kicks in Lad I've got Fucking sideways monkeys In my brain And that's the other sentence And that thing hasn't made it any way any better it hasn't helped it like I said I train every day and that's my medication and that's my fucking that's my saviour for life that if I didn't but
1:18:46fuck knows if I keep forgetting what was that question next I've just gone off on that just the battle in the mind the battle of the mind is in what to go back to fighting yeah just to try and stay on the straight and narrow that's it lad for me to stay no I am staying on the straight and narrow I know I know I think they put me in jail twice for nothing. I know somebody upset with me somewhere So I got out of jail like I said I got out of jail with not a pot of pissing. I didn't have a pound. Yeah I had me fight and I got to bounce back now and then I lumped in and then DD called me a couple of years later and My life was alright.
1:19:20I pulled my shit back together Do you know what I mean? Covid cunt. So Covid cunt and everyone else was sat on their arse. Fuck off sat on my ass for years I'm not fucking worried I'll buy no cold I'll fucking have a Covid buddy fuck off How hard is it for your family Paul when you're in a prison and that like your dad as well especially seeing you in the UFC and he would have watched how big it got like how difficult it is for people around you Like I said my dad's a belt of that my dad's a Mickey my dad's a proper scholarship when I'm putting him on the belt there's a video going on where one of his mates have filmed the conversation and he's sent him to the porno and goes yeah goes what you're thinking about that lad said your kids alright innit and he went hey the kitchen's alright innit and I just went he's a fucking belter because he is lad funny as fuck drinking as a lot of wasted talent and love of poo and anyway on the water with his face dad's safety look dad's safety gets a grip yeah and I think and he's have analysed it a little bit yeah we've all come from fighting families everyone in the city if you're born a Mickey your dad or your uncle somebody boxed either boxed or you played footy so you've got all these kids that have grew up of stories of the dads yeah and they've all got these kids and that I think when you breed a dog you breed the gameness into it put pathogile into any dog put pathogile into a poodle and you've got a fucking nightmare on your parents that poodle's going to be game as fuck because they're just a game dog I think that gameness has been bred down to us because of how rough the city was and a culture that come with the docks and everything else back in the day.
1:20:59And I think now there's no sports or there's nothing for kids to do. All these game kids haven't got dads around them taking them to the fighting. I think if more kids went to the fighting, less kids would get shot or stabbed because they're always going to be that game. They're never going to back down. They're not designed that way. So they can't back down and they can't fight. So what's their options? they get a fucking big chopper or they go and borrow a strap and that's the city lad as much as I love it and I do love being a Michy lad I love being a Scouser I love how the people are lad we're homely people we look after each other no matter what we stand together in like everywhere we are if you go to Spain and you see a gang of Scousers they're all together alright girl alright lad do you know what I mean but I just think that if they introduced more violence into the school programme.
1:21:55There'd be less murders from knives and guns. If they taught kids how to fight and how to have a discipline, them seeing kids could then, if they had a fucking a dispute, they'd go, go on then, let's have it. Turn up and have it. And then, lad, everyone says you're out of shooting, but you know, after the street and that, after you turn up and you you sweat blood at someone, even if the beef's heavy, you both shake hands after because you're a straightness solve 90 % of fucking things if the kids are game enough to have it it's just no one's got their ass no more lad and everyone's a fucking everyone can fight so they're just gonna turn on and shoot you know and that's just the way the city's gone what did you think when dan went from ufc kind of misfits crossover boxing were you i didn't i didn't know it was going to work out at the first i was thinking he was wasting time because you can't waste time and i don't know when I left the UFC, I lingered for two years.
1:22:49So I was on his bumper to say, look, lad, and he's going, no, no, I'm sticking to the plan. And on a stage, it looked like this might be the wrong way, taking a bit long to get there, but definitely the right choice for him now. Why the fuck are you going to go and fight fucking three rounds or if it's a main event, which he is my main event on the thingy, five rounds in the UFC, back to your body because it's a different, your body hurts from all over. with boxing it's just your hands now it doesn't take any less of the sport away because it's lads every shot to the head the likelihood is more likely that you're going to get knocked out in your RR MMA you're taking more shots than the brain but softer on the body his brain's fucked anyway so I mean I've been to his last two fights and yeah he had the big fucking knee strap on the not arse lads you know when he just fights you see him yeah and I'm not blowing smoke up his arse he's too keen for his own good.
1:23:44He shouldn't have took fights. I shouldn't have took fights, but that Bronson, when he fought Bronson, the black kid, what the fuck were you doing, mate? He couldn't even walk in the gym. His back was nailed. And then he just went on for a straightening leg. Number two, you're like fighting. You're bored sometimes. You need somebody to go, hey, what are you doing? Ma. But being the character that you are, you just go, fuck off. Leave me alone. Stay out of it. So what do you do now with your life? What's the plans? so this is my license is done now i'm gonna there i'm gonna go somewhere that my kids can enjoy a better life than this country because this country's on its ass i don't this country's finished lot so i'm gonna go probably dubai i can go anywhere i can sit in a cell and make money i can sit on the beach and make money do you know what i mean um and a network well enough lad so I want to go to Dubai.
1:24:41Start my life over there. Fresh start. Fresh start, lad. Sunshine. See how it goes. I say this all the time. I went to California and come back. That city brings you back and it pulls you back but at least if I go and give it a go set myself up I can always fly home. I don't need to live in Liverpool. It's funny though that you can go anywhere in the world but you always do gravitate back to home and every time you gravitate back there's nothing but drama. I changed my fucking flight to come back. I was going back to live in the best place in the fucking world. used to wake up and look out the window and think I fucking love it when you wake up every morning and you see that sunshine and it's like the best climate that's windy it's a little bit you know it's not dry heat it's got a little bit of wind right on the coast so I come and think I fucking love it I flew home for a funeral and up in jail wiped my arse with the echo there's nothing the city as much as we love it is a plague for us especially if you're a notable guy people know who you are and for whatever reason right or wrong that is that's the situation I'm in I was in LA at 31 I was off the booze and the sniff for two years I came back from my Auntie Magritch funeral I came back from my Auntie Magritch funeral I was in LA I was smashing it you were here in LA what part?
1:25:53Hollywood it was up at top it was that little it was fucking beautiful I'd like to the swimming pool it was quite dirty it was like little fucking houses like one bedrooms but it wasn't giving a fuck especially coming from Glasgow but I went back to That's goes rubbish. I went back to my auntie's funeral and I had a vodka. And it was the first time I drank nearly two years. And I just went missing again. Full year, mate. Went fucking bang right on it. Well, on the Charlie. I can't sniff me, lad. I can't, do we? But that's the place. It fucking sucks your soul. And you can only blame myself, but there's just the world's big place and you feel more relaxed when you're out of it.
1:26:31But yet, something grips you back in. It's like a fucking magnet. I go to the city. I go to Liverpool. And our little group of mates, we're all a little bit fucking cu cu anyway lad. So we have it pretty nice and then everything's boss and everyone knows who you are and everything. And it's like you love that being in that environment. Do you know what I mean? And like the dormant are polite with you and all the birds want to come over and sit at your fucking table and whatever. And that's because you them guys in the city. And really it's a fucking fishbowl lad. what the fuck we asked for but it does drag you back for that I come home, I went out on a nice outdoor there and just stood there just thinking I fucking love this city because it's boss lad and it's ass but fucking, it's fucking I don't know lad there's only ending one way for me if I stay I'm going to end up sitting in a little fucking box room just more the size of your toilet with a shitter at the end of the bed thinking why didn't you get off lad do you know what I mean so as soon as my licence is done scarper it's scary that thought though to be sitting in that fucking six feet cell thinking I wish I would have left and having regret.
1:27:43I've done it twice. I've done it twice. Because me probation was telling me last time. We're getting emails all the time over here. The police are emailing them all the time. I knew something was coming. Do you know what I mean? They just don't like me left. So for that reason, passion out. Would you change anything from your life, your past? Not a single thing. I don't think you can move forward looking back If I could change anything I probably wouldn't have come back from California I wouldn't have flew back through India I would have flew back to California I would have signed to fight Chandler I would have fought Chandler and then signed with Bellator into the tournament to give me a right lump I should have done that That's what I should have done But again, you're doing that then You can't move back You can't move forward looking back I've done that much jail I've had that many heartaches When I went to jail, I had a couple of birds but I had a family and I had a family and then I had something else on the side and then everything else my life was boss and then you sat in a cell with fucking no one like really though you've got your family you've got your man you've got your dad me mum me mum was that speaking to again I was back in jail but I hadn't spoke to you for a while me dad I'm dead close to you've got your family but when you've got your kids and your bed and everything else that's your family innit and then that goes then because of jail because you can't carry on the way you carry on and expect anyone to be fucking 100 % for you while you're sat in there.
1:29:10Do you know what I mean? You can't. Money dries up. I think everything's an exchange, isn't it? So before I went to Zelle, my exchange was everyone was looked after. And when you sat there, you sat on your own in a fucking cell. And then nothing's going that way. So I think till the relationship breaks down go take it back to nature. A bird wants you protection A bird wants you to look after and feed it Do you know what I mean? When you can't do that There's no agreement Got to mention this baldy grass But he's got a hit list And me and you seem to be on that list What is his issues, Darren G?
1:29:48Darren is a little fart He was a proper game kid back in the day Back in the day he was ready And the whole city knew it so if anyone sees otherwise that's not to he's just a little fart now and he's a shadows for myself and he hates the fact that he stood up in the dock and grasped up Willie Moore with any respect anyone had from him from the city comes there now he tries to be game and he's getting chased off by kids you know you're not that guy no more he was a bully back in the day and he's was keen he's was lads these people look i say you couldn't work a phone by a day they cut your heels with a with a set of ball cutters they've got bodies to them they're not shy which is the darren's either i thought that i was going to have smoke with so someone said me i was lying in bed with me bird and then she me expert she punched me open the insta i've gone off it's too well in the morning and um some bird had written on the thing i'm a I've DM'd you why the fuck she's looking at me poster too well in the morning anyway she's a weirdo yeah so I've opened it and um Darren G's talking shit about her so it goes on this thing but I put a pair of tinys up made out of grass on me tingy saying Darren G's webs but lad look I'm only saying this because he was one of the boys lad you're just moving sideways lad you're moving like a grass lad you're not you're not one of us we don't move like that lad you might have been whatever now there's where you're at so I put that up he must have seen it and not said nothing and just stalked the shit out of me for time taking like screenshots of me with people that I'd never posted the picture I'd probably put up on me story so then I opened the message and it was a picture of me and a lifer of a good friend of mine as the picture set as the profile and eh cause he got out of jail and it was just getting out partying I'm there with the baby and eh that was the profile picture saying smelly kelly whatever the fuck it was he was saying yeah weird weird guy lads at about 50 yeah so so i goes yo and he kicks in and goes your girl's not safe in that shop why the fuck are you trying to nounce off a bird anyway you weird cunt if you've got issue with me come see me he said your girl's not safe in that shop so i'm lying in bed and like I'm thinking this is that guy that used to be that guy that's the guy that we grew up so I'm addressing it as that guy okay this isn't messing about I jumped in my car and said send me a postcode I'm coming now yeah two well in the morning and he's chanting shit and I went yo PC I'm not gonna get into this fucking thing glad if we're going send me where you are it's too well in the morning i'm on the way yeah so we chatted a bit more shit so i sent a picture of the steering wheel and said yo dickhead send me the fucking postcode and then he just come back with more bullshit so i just knew that he wasn't that guy no more and i just thought i'm sitting in my car at two bell in the morning fucking half two in the morning i just went back and turned my phone off and went to bed and then that conversation between me and him he i think he realized that he's not that guy no more which is why which is i don't think nothing serious i'm devil them even speaking about him giving him any fucking clout because he's a shit house faggot fat um so from my point i didn't take him serious and then every time something pops up he'll just start like he'll just start like just like lad he said i've raped a bird i was rubbing her back in the in the thing he said i had something to do with olivia colwell pratt's murder.
1:33:38Daddy just come every day someone free just send me something new and I feed into it by speaking about him but I'll cover him. I'll get you you little fart. Yeah no he's a saucy jam. Go on there lad I'll see him lad I'm not chasing him down because he's not worth my energy lad but he's just a fucking parcel lad. Honest. He is a parcel and you know what my name's Beal and Barron no more. I'd love him to fucking turn up anyway I'd pay him with good wages because the whole shit he'd love to see that fight on my synonymous fits. But I just know he hasn't got the arse for it so plans for the future brother plans for the future is I am going to live in the fucking sunshine I've got quality time pieces in the in the live buildings we're flying with our watches we are really busy with that and the silver and everything else and I'm just going to go and explore the world lad I've got myself set here I do all my phone on my way my partner does everything here so I just do the bulk of it now as if I was sat in jail and then he mobs up and does without him it wouldn't be done do you know what I mean he's the fucking brains behind it like but I can do that anywhere in the world I don't want to go and space up in Dubai I'm going to possibly have a bare knuckle I want to address it this week but Till Till doesn't want me to fight no more Till says no I don't but I want to go over there see them address it see it with the coach speak it out see if I was going to do it who I'd have to coach me because if it's bare knuckle it's a different sport it's a direct sport which is why Mike Berry does so well everything's direct you can't come off on an angle as much but the way you'd slip in a fight you've got to kind of see what's coming and be ready to eat it up and answer your own don't know me I like it I think it's perfect for me lad if I can be arsed with the brain damage style of fight is up my street clinched staying close and rough and in the middle it's barbaric like bare knuckles barbaric you reckon it's barbaric I don't know, lad It's fucking them fighting Because UFC Used to be like that But UFC now Is a bit more classy But now The bare knuckles just I think that's a different level Of insanity Fuck off, lad Perfect for you, mate You are Yeah Because you've done MMA I would box I just think bare knuckle I like what Conor McGregor's doing With it as well, lad I've seen a video of him A couple of weeks ago Unless they've turned to God Or something He looks fucking good Does he yeah Yeah Because he went right off the rails Who wouldn't we Couple of hundred Yeah Lads Fucking hell Like I said I was walking through Sam with a bed On either arm Thinking I was king of the world I'd only won one fight Do you know what I mean Imagine when you're king You are actually king of the world You've nailed everyone You've got a yacht For fucking 20 million quid Yeah I was just saying When I signed for Hibs I was playing under 18s But I used to go to All the nightclubs And tell all the birds I played for the first team When I was like Fucking 16 when someone like Conor McGregor is like one of us to then have all that money it's going to do some damage I think you know it'd be scary imagine me and you with a fucking few hundred million yeah but like I said before I took that machete to the face I was earning big toe I used to dive around in a fucking little shithead car I used to dive around like an Alvan I didn't give a shit about it I was happy with the doll I was just happy with being active and being busy that's what I like you know what I mean until fighting I don't think fighting pays you that well fighting is a sport of passion it's alright if you're on the lads wages that they're getting now but up until you get to there even if these are for me a lump I've got to work out, I've got to pay my coaches out of it I've got to pay for my rent and my car and the kids and everything else that comes into play and the money that you miss out I just think I don't know if you do it you've got to have passion in it or you're going to get hurt for anybody watching Paul you've lived that life but for anybody that's wanting maybe maybe stuck in a dark fucking path maybe it's in prison they're now listening what advice would you have for them?
1:37:38Man the fuck up you've got no choice you can sit and feel sorry for yourself and you can sit and think the world that owes you the favour but the reality is you're in the situation that you're in get up and train every single day ignore the wankers who are locking your door because I have to understand If you're in a cat B, you're better off. If you're in a cat C now, the job's on its arse that much, they can't employ no one. So they've got people that worked in the Aldi three weeks ago. In Walton now, the whole prison system's black. The whole fucking, the whole staff have come over on the boats.
1:38:13You couldn't believe it, lad. So all these people that have come over on the boats, they're just employing them now because there's no staff in the jails. They're just employing all these Africans. you can't really speak a word of English and they're locking your door imagine coming over on a boat and then like that and then the next minute you're locking people behind the door like you've gone from living in a fucking living in Cali or wherever you are you're living come over here you've got a job and you're locking the door it's mad Blair Lions but without them we'd be behind that door because it's just the system the prison system look at the way the rest of the country got it when Grayling remember Grayling remember him when he come in that he ruined the prison system because the Tories, they made the cut and it's never come back from then.
1:38:55When I started jail, it was much better than it is now. I used to get a couple of eggs of a morning. You get out of, you get a lot of association. In jails now, people are locked up. There's murder, they're killing themselves all the time. There's suicide rates in jails going through the roof because there's no education for them to do. They're locked down all the time because they've got no staff. They're literally just locked up all day with no one. So like you say about what you do there, if you don't get out of your room and train you're just sat there in your own head for 24 fucking hours a day how important is training for the mindset for jail for life for everything it's my whole life I prioritise training over everything there's nothing that takes priority over that because if I don't do that I can't do anything else do you know what I mean so it's like a good thing for me if I don't train I can't function if I don't train I went to the gym before I come here so I could have a clear amount Because if I don't I wouldn't have a clear mind People don't understand it is the best medicine Certainly if you suffer a little bit with fucking your head If you've got monkeys Go and exercise the monkeys Let them fucking run wild Leave yourself on your back
1:40:09What a bit of a cough Being under weed But I smoked weed again I smoked weed all the way through the UFC People used to say to me Can't smoke weed a couple of heads because I grafted for years. I'd be out on the phone all day. I'd spend all day on the phone grafting, fucking mouthful of swag, smoking weed. Then when I started fighting, I'd train every morning. I'd go and graft through the day and then go back to training every night. So I'd still be smoking weed and then I'd stop like eight weeks out from the fight. But people used to go, you can't smoke weed, but lad, I'm fucking well fitter than you.
1:40:42So, you know, you used to say I can't smoke weed. And I went after Men's Fitness magazine done a competition for all the, done a competition for all the athletes, combat athletes at the time, 2012 or something, long time ago, fucking years ago. And I went there, stoned them one. They were all good athletes there, they've got some good boxers, all the Olympic, all the Olympic medalists and stuff like that. And it ends up like a fat pot and nail them all. Felt that. What's your proudest moment in life?
1:41:16My kids, and fucking my daughter lad my daughter's my best mate on the planet and I've been in her life all of it my son my other son I didn't know him until he was like 7 I didn't but my kids definitely lad there's no what else to say I'll be a bit cunt if you said anything else wouldn't you I'll be a fucking right cunt if you didn't say your kids but yeah my kids lad and then not letting me go after the fucking trip I've just been on the I'll let you IPP.
