In short
Adam Lopez recounts how winning a £1 million “Millionaire Maker” scratch card (plus earlier £500-related winnings) upended his life—financially, socially, and emotionally—while also describing his upbringing, family history, and the lottery’s post-win support process.
Guest background
Adam grew up on a council estate in Kettering/Northamptonshire, later moving to a private estate. He worked in construction (including concrete and forklift operations), did Camp America in the US for three summers, and later drove/forklifted across Norfolk/Suffolk. His father is Mexican-American; Adam describes domestic abuse in his childhood and a later inheritance dispute involving a half-brother and an alleged electronic-signature theft of about £337,000. He also describes later relationship chaos, including being cheated on.
Key claims
- He spent roughly £150–£200k total on scratch cards over time.
- After winning, the lottery provided wealth managers, solicitors, health/lifestyle support, and a “fixer” service for access (including private jets).
- He says the win triggered intense attention, requests, and exploitation attempts from others.
- He describes partying for months and later health issues (blood clots in his leg and lungs).
Notable examples
- He won after a “three rubies/match three” sequence; he says he watched the card moment and then saw his debt as “done.”
- He bought a Range Rover Sport and describes emotional scenes with his mum when she learned the result.
- He recounts a Guinness World Records attempt: an underwater mile fundraiser for a girl named Grace with spinal muscular atrophy.

1:35boomeroyen yeah and today's guest we've got adam lopez adam how are we very well mate very well how are you good thank you lottery winner yep lucky man yeah won the lottery million quid scratch card yeah scratch card a millionaire maker scratch card the red one yeah just absolute chaos in my head when I won it. I literally just... I didn't scream or anything. I thought I'd go, man, if I ever won the lottery or loads of money or anything like that. And it just wasn't that. It was just like... I sat there and I was like... Wow. I looked at it. I was like... I kept looking at it. I was like, is that a million quid?
2:10I was like, fucking hell. Sitting right outside of the shop. And I thought, it's right. Do the windows up. Lock the doors. It's a little bit shady. But I'd done it all up and just sat there for an hour. and just could not believe it. Just complete... I can't even explain the feeling. For an hour after it, I couldn't tell you what. I just sat there in complete disbelief. I always thought it was a con, the lottery. Because you never really know anyone who wins it. You see people and you think they're actors. And then I've interviewed a couple now and I think, shit, it must be real. People must genuinely win.
2:45But before we get into all the madness, I always like to go back to the start with my guests. get more about understanding about you, Adam, where you grew up and how it all began. All right. Yeah, I grew up, thank you, lad, still a council estate in Ketri in Northamptonshire. Yeah, just grew up. I never wanted for anything, but I knew that like where we were living and that and what my mum done, she sacrificed. So I never wanted for anything. I was not a silver spoon, but I was spoiled because I was the first of like 10 cousins, you know what I mean? So I always looked after what my uncles and aunties and that but um excuse me but yeah just grew up um obviously normal school just everything you know growing up went through a little bit of domestic sort of stuff with my mum and a partner at the time and um yes a little bit mad that is because it still stays in my head like every day um and that was sort of the start of not everything that I always said that I've been paid back for now winning the money that I'd have put up with growing up but obviously we'll go through everything as we go but yeah that was the start of it and that sort of scarred me it still does that'll scar me forever but
4:04yeah it's just I grew up we moved from the estate we was on to a private estate in Kettering it was a bit better we just went up carried on went through school and yeah did sixth form then I went left sixth form went on to work in America on a Camp America program looking after kids did that for three summers um in between now I come back I was in the concrete uh my uncle owned the groundwork and concrete in business and um yeah I went to work with him and all the lads have said to me somebody go on you can tell them about me you can tell them the stories or what I said I don't know if I dare I said some of them but we lodged away everywhere and we had some good times, we did.
4:46And there was one lad who was coming down today, he said, tell him about that guy, you can you sprawl out of this off. So Sammy, like, I'll just say, but there's some good stories there, but just regular, regular bloke. And then, yeah. What about dad? My dad, he passed. My dad was never in my son. My dad is Mexican-American. And the first time I met him was after the end of the, I saw domestic abuse at Ice Beans with my mum and her partner.
5:17we went over there to meet him I met him for the first time when I was like I think 17 and um never really knew how to be a dad never really knew that I just my mum's never told me what happened but I think it was either drugs or we cheated on her but she moved away back to England before I was born I was I was about a month away from being American but um sorry but And, yeah, I went to see him a couple more times while I was working in America at the Camp America thing. So after I finished, he used to go. I stopped him for, like, a month. Then the next year was, like, two months. Then I was going to move over there.
5:52But when I went to move over there, he didn't really... There was no, like, push there from him, like, to help me get there. And I just thought, like, what am I fucking doing here? Like, I just thought, it's just no... He didn't know how to be a dad. And, um...
6:12So what we're talking about, my dad just makes me upset a little bit.
6:18Only because he broke my mum's heart, though. Broke my mum's heart. But I'm a hypocrite because I've sort of done that as well since the win, but...
6:29But yeah, my mum has done an exceptional job of being mum and dad. Exceptional job. And like, you see, now as I love her, to death, I've been bickering a little bit since the win because I've just been fucking, I don't know. I've always tried to be the best son ever, but like, he just, I was brought up well. It's not a reflection on that at all. But life sometimes sends you like different ways, doesn't it? You meet different people, you're in different environments and all that. But yeah, like I say, she even wanted me to meet my dad and have the chance of him going off on a tangent. But yeah, I met my dad and then we lost contact.
7:05Went back for a third time. and when I left, still didn't do anything with moving over there. He lived in Colorado Springs and the flight was from Denver to come back home and he didn't even want to take me to Denver Airport to fucking take me back so I could fly back to England. And I thought, you know what, fuck you. And that was it. And I probably saw why, a part of me probably saw why my mum left him. But that, it was nothing like that. It was drugs or cheating and if I know him... Both? possibly but cheating 100 % I feel like he I feel like he's sorry about that I feel like he uh cheated cheated on here so uh do you have any brothers or sisters from him I've got half brother what's his relationship with him no so he was they were close because they lived in Arizona and obviously my dad lived in Colorado next to each other um so he saw he saw him like sort of regular through the year like I think like five or six times but when the inheritance come in he stole he stole um 330 000 off me with the electronic signature that i sent to him so he sent a moody uh document over signed that cc i'll sign that and they can release the money um yeah he took three three hundred and thirty seven thousand what money just set my inheritance from my dad sorry so he left money for both of us he got his chunk and then nobody i couldn't get brother Charles, he turned on me out of nowhere, and I was like, what's going on?
8:37And he was high up in the police in Colorado, so I thought, that's not right, I've had no money, no contact from any solicitors over there. He turned on me, and he was just closed door, he couldn't get hold of him, so I tried ringing the house, and because he was a copier, you can't get into, you can't ring it unless you've got special codes and stuff. So I was like, fuck, and then it was, I don't know I didn't go over but it was just like it was mad because I was younger and it was just all a blur and because my mum had took care of me and she was good but done everything to help me and all the rest of it it's sort of not that I didn't want it but it was if I thought if I go over there I'm in their backyard I don't know the laws over there I don't have a chance and then I've got a battle child me uncle Charles and that little dickhead who leaks it off me and I was like so we'll leave it me mum ended up getting a few quid off it and I was all thankful for that but what she got from what she give like me dad like love and ever because I know what my mum's like I know what she'd have been like with him like she loved him like the day that we found out he died like she was um I remember when she called me she's fucking in pieces and it was it was just just horrible it was just that I'll just I still remember the phone call she picked up I said are you all right and it was just tears for about 10 minutes and then she's like that like I just made it out like what she was saying and just but yeah but it's sort of how were you feeling when he died I didn't know how to feel to be fair I still don't feel like it come out of me I still feel a lot of feeling but it's difficult to grieve for someone you didn't know yeah it's like because it's your dad you feel as if you should be grieving if he's not there and if he's a wanker then fuck him yeah and that's the difficult thing though because humans we are soft we are sensitive we are no matter who we think we are i've interviewed enough people to realize we're all full of and we're all really soft but i think it's a hard one to try and process should you be grieving should i not be grieving like it's difficult end of the day it's still your dad you're here because of him but on the other hand you never gave a did they no i mean mum's my mum's my mum and she'd always be priority do you know i mean obviously um long witnesses as well i'm gonna put that in there I should kick my head in when I get home.
10:52But my mum, she knows I'll take bullets for her. Do you know what I mean? Like, I'll protect her with my life. And it just, we're best mates, me and my mum. So, I mean, we grew up together. We had each other's backs. Star Wars, The Mandalorian and Grogu is now streaming on Disney+. What are you waiting for? Hop on. The must-see galactic adventure comes home on Disney+. This is the way. 11:41Slap me. Jar something loose. Ay, yes! I like that. The certified fresh series returns. Your boss. You always like this or is this just an act, oh no, this is mad. Oysters, everybody! There's a certain satisfaction when you work with someone. Maybe we could be a family. You sadistic pig!
12:02This show gives me a reason to live. Just been through a lot together, do you know what I mean? And it just... I don't know, I'm just glad that I left. Like, from 18 onwards, I'm glad that period was over when i was like when i finished that when i went to america for the first time and then that obviously the next period went from then to when my dad died it was a little bit mad um i moved up to burma i moved to coventry car that was dry moved up to coventry um seeing a girl up there and uh i won't go into detail about it but it's another mad one um yeah we were for about seven years and um it was all right but it was just something there all the whole time and just i know you say seven years but it was just like it was something there the whole time just niggling me and she never really made like like she seemed very let's just sound like fuck her anyway but it seemed she seemed very honestly I'll give her everything.
13:07I moved from Norfolk up to there. And I've done it. I've literally... And all she did was try... There was a point I went through. I weren't earning a lot of money. I was driving a Ford Lyft. Driving a Ford Lyft. This is what a lot of people probably know me from. It's just so scattered in my head. So scattered in my head. But I went up there. I was driving a Ford Lyft. I went through a little bit of financial, like with the turbulence. And she... She cheated on me. I was fucking caught out of fucking mental. I'm just going into detail about that, but it was like I gave her everything. I gave her everything to me.
13:43I moved up there. Yeah, she just cunted me off. So I fucking cunted her off back. How did you find out she was tuned? I caught her. Yeah, mad. In bed? In bed. With the cunt? I don't want to say too much. Yeah, it was fucking... Yeah, it wasn't nice. That was the end of the chaos in my life. And then I moved back to Norfolk. Well, not back to Norfolk. I moved to Norfolk. Obviously, my mum met someone from there. She moved from Ketrin in between the summer camp and me and Birmingham. At the start of when I moved out, she left to go to Norfolk. And I just wished at the time that I'd have gone with her.
14:27But I thought, no, because I've got my job on concrete and I've got plenty of work on. and and i just thought i said look i said go i said if i run out of work i'll come down and and and sound and i'll say i went through all that and it's just like i just wish i'd have gone with her but then it's it's in hindsight it's like if i'd have gone with her would i still won the money you go for everything in your head don't you but um yeah no it was carnage and um that's how i moved back there and he was one of the first people i spoke to oh look i literally went in to the first thing I did when I got back to Norfolk or got to Norfolk got on the bus straight into I was living in a place called Buxton near Alesham in Norfolk got the um got the bus into the city centre Castle Meadow pub called the Bell Hotel and this big fucker was in there first person I spoke to and we sort of lost touch a little bit and then about uh started working on the sites and that in the four lift and turned up on this bovis job got out of the van I thought I fucking know him from somewhere don't know you from and it's fucking straight away wasn't it and it was like yeah down there the bell and it was just and that's stuff yeah it's like loose touch let's not lose touch but it's like we talk i was like he promised him to take him for a pint he bollocks me every time right we're going for a pint later but it's just like i forgot i was going with that but um yeah met him he come back and it just moved to norfolk and i sort of felt at home there but it was hard at first because i sounded like a cockney pirate is what they've described it as but um i do like it down there and i say move there um been there off i'd like after that relationship i had a little break and then i started doing like a little small short it didn't They were never going to be, it was just, I weren't ready to go back into that world and have a partner, do you know what I mean?
16:24And then, so I started driving the forklift. I started in Birmingham, right up there. It's fucking, you have to sink or swim. You have to be good, quick, and you have to get on with everyone. It's hard. So when I come down here, I don't mean this disrespectfully, because I love the lads down here. Well, most of them, but I'll say down here in London. But I love most of the lads in Northconn, sides we have a good crack i've got my enemies but i've got a lot of lads we get on with it's just a different pace down here so when i turned up i was like two subs two tubs of muck on at the time they were like what the fuck's going on i said i said we need to help see and there you go bang and i was just like bang bang bang basically we'll never say a fucking job and i was like well what do you want me to do slow down like you know what i mean it was and then starting i thought i'm half good at this and then someone tagged me in something on linkedin to do like a competition and go in for like the best operator in the country and stuff like that it all went it's a but it was hard to I don't think I'm not going to name the company the company I was working for at the time we didn't realize when they were selling up so to get all the the content for the videos that I had to make to send in I couldn't they couldn't release them because they stopped them because they were selling the company so I was like fuck so I sent two i think two in i've did that i'll beat all the heats i'll beat some social media giants who would have got loads of votes i'll beat them in the group stage i beat honestly it was loads i was just like i couldn't believe it i've got through the heat and they invited me to the final and then i got told i couldn't do it because you put the videos up i was like oh fuck's sake so how was the thought left stuff you says people will know you from that how do you make videos on it yeah i did videos um like time-lapse videos edited them just like just doing like because people started doing it and I thought fucking that's the sound but I thought it's like there's one what's his name Tom Gill and I rate this lad and he's got like he does these time lapses and he inspired me to do mine and he's so quick on like it's like a I forgot the name a steel wrist 360 attachment it does everything it's got a bucket pincer it changes from the cab he's got all the auto releases and his time lapses it's me i had to like come back and do like a little few attempts and stuff he does things like straight away when he is well yeah literally one time he doesn't you in the videos you see it's like he's at his actual arms are attached to the machine it's he honestly it's incredible and he inspired me to do my videos and they you know he had me get like um support when i was doing the heat the stuff for the competition um but honestly he's so good at it and i thought i've got to try and be at that level like very competitive person and um so i started doing these videos all that and i just got people just started to recognize me i was going how are you ladding the forklift i'll just walk around like norwich and going around norfolk and stuff like that and it started going so norfolk and suffolk have got a bit of a rivalry um that's um i started the company i was working for based in suffolk but i was living in norfolk but then it what it did was it enabled me to create a network and a connection between both counties right despite the football rivalries and just the local rivalries and um i started talking to the fellow i was with yesterday um paul who's now obviously i'm open to go into business with i'll get on to that later um it's enabled me to establish relationships what they call across the border so it was um it's all sort of worked nobody else could do it but I weren't from there and as much as I respected the border thing I still liked do you know what I mean it was I was I was happy I liked both sides do you know what I mean so it's like it's hard to explain but it was like because of that it people started to know me on a wider scale I was getting approaches from marketing firms or people trying to send me stuff and I said don't send me I said somebody needs it I said I don't need like stuff do you I mean I didn't need to do any of that and I sat there and I thought it's I just it's madder that when you get a little bit of no like people start noticing you they start sending stuff to you that it I just think like it's lovely I know what they're doing it obviously because it creates a little bit of I've never had a massive social media following but what I did have I did on LinkedIn to be fair it's a very active network on there but Instagram and stuff like that just never worked for me but it was like it was just the notoriety i got i was like i could walk around ipswich and walk around norwich and people recognized me just from that and it was so strange so strange but i'll say it enabled me to start established relationships with like business owners and directors and it just it just created a different sort of opportunity to create a network for me but for just for being like just taking a little bit more care and attention and love to what i do um or what i did i don't get me wrong i have me bad days there as well yeah everybody does yeah what about before you won the lottery how was the week of the month running up to that how was relationships friendships relationship with your mother how was how was life before it yeah life before was just all right just paycheck to paycheck just a regular didn't really live much of a life didn't really do just kept myself to myself last sick to death again now didn't want a bird didn't want to just i just couldn't be arsed i couldn't be asked for life and it's not in that long clear not like a civil soldier way nothing like that but it was i couldn't be arsed i was like i 23:05This show gives me a reason to live. It just... How do I describe it? I just, I've had no, like, passion for life. And it just... Oh, go back to work. Oh, gee, one month, just keep going. Everything will get better. It's good. About a week before the win, or a couple of weeks before the win, I started, like, work was doing me. I didn't, one of the lads threatened to stab me on sight because I didn't deliver his fucking tiles within fucking 10 minutes. It was a nightmare. But our respect of construction is, and I swear to God, I had to crave, you asked the assistant who was in the office, this geezer walked in with the ump that morning.
23:45So it weren't me. like cutting him off and trying to hide it or nothing like that but it's well known for being a dickhead but um we where's the game with that one sec yeah the elite lead up to the win like two probably three weeks before it i kept getting this notification from youtube like the 1111 run of the gods or something it was called or the god of miracles and i weren't subscribed to it i had no religious connections to the channels i did follow and it kept saying your archangel is disappointed with you you need to change what you're doing right and i just i'm gonna say what i was doing but it was literally 30 seconds after i got back in the car and it came up and i was like what the fuck anyway i thought right just it stayed in my head before i fucking looked at it didn't subscribe i just left it got rid of the notification get it out i try and get it out of my head but i couldn't stop thinking about it it's about just for a while get back in the gym get back on track about a week later because um your archangel is um satisfied with what you're doing on my dad's grave you archangels satisfied with what you're doing um you're about to be in in you're about to receive an abundant gift or something he said i know he's just looking at you think fuck i still want to subscribe so i have no connection to the channel it just give me the two notifications over the week when i brought a scratch card on 500 quid i thought i fucking touch happy days um that's what he must have been on about.
25:14And then, literally, he just carried on going to work. I was bored. My boss, my site manager was a fucking idiot. He just kept hammering you and hammering you. And then blaming it on ADHD. And I was like, I said, mate, if you, I said, there's a difference between you having a mental illness or a mental issue because I'm a mental health first aider. I said, there's that. And I said, there's the difference between that and just being a prick. I said, you do it to everyone. I said, I'm fucking grafting. It was only me on this site in the forklift. I'm rushed off my feet every fucking day. Like, leave me alone.
25:46Because, honestly. And he used to back the lads up all the time. It fucking, oh, furiated me. And I got to the point, probably, I think it was the day, it was the Friday, and I won it on, I think it was Saturday I won it on. Yeah, the Saturday I won it on. Because one of my, I can't say who, but one of the bosses had asked me to go for a drink with him and his son. I was saying no names, nothing. But I was on the way to see him on the Saturday, and that's when I stopped at the shop on the way to see him. And yeah, and then from there, I bought the scratch card that changed everything. How much were you spending on scratch cards per week?
26:25Loads. I think over my lifetime, you've got to be looking at probably 200 grand. 150 to 200 grand. I sat and said it to the people who come to the house to do the tickets and that, like do all the sign over. And they were like, no, I said, honestly, but when I want it, You couldn't get a scratch card for anywhere within like a three-mile radius of the shop. It was mad. So they must have had it off. Honestly, as soon as they found out I'd won, it was chaos. You couldn't get anything anywhere. Why is that? Where's that? Well, the scratch card. Yeah. Yeah, because I'd won the scratch card and people started finding out.
26:57Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. You couldn't get it. You went to every shot and they were completely... Even the one-pound ones were empty. I thought, fucking hell. You know, I thought I should have had shares in the lottery or something. How much was the scratch card? A fiver. yeah it was a five pound millionaire maker one um and the one with the 500 quid i forgot that was i think it was cash award it was a big bright pink one about two rows on each side um that was a 500 but the million pound was the millionaire maker and she said i was the first jackpot winner of the scratch card so that was my winner's advisor um but the lottery was sound this is what the i have to address this because the lottery have been absolute they were brilliant as soon as I win it they put so many people around you you can't fail like you get like wealth managers you get a solicitor they put everyone your health and lifestyle people and even as much as if you wanted a ticket for something like a Taylor Swift VIP box looking at her on the stage like you can't nobody can get anything like that do you have to pay for them yeah you get it's after a certain time for the people around you and then this thing called the fixer it's a lifestyle lifestyle like company and you ring them up and I've used them a few times and the things you can't get they can they give you access to private jets literally anything if you need it or you want it you ring the number up give them your code and they've always sorted me out so you're in your car life you just can't be arsed with yeah five are scratch cards what you're doing when you scratch it because now we know that you've got the scratch because I've gave these scratch cards out where people have bought 100 grand in 250 but they've been passed around so much people think ah fuck off but you see people they're going through the roof and they've worked fans they've said oh there's a scratch and they're scratching everything and no way they're phoning their mum and phoning everything to leave their job but what you're thinking then like is it was that a million million million like how did it work so they come up and you get like a row at the start of the first game and you get two numbers um you get two numbers at the top of the row and there you're winning numbers and you scratch off like five or six you get two rows scratch off didn't get anything it was like the i think it was the first scratch game it was the first scratch card in because the number three has been very significant for all this um went down three rows from the bottom on the second game so it's match three in a row on the second game went down nothing nothing nothing for fuck's sake right went down three rubies and i thought right leave it scratch them all off at the end
29:33got the three rubies got to send the scratch card yeah right I was like
29:41sat there looked out the bloke in the shop come out for a fag or whatever it was excuse me he went alright I went like my hand was off like I was trembling I thought I was like I went I looked here I'm trembling now thinking about it like it was it was such a life changing moment i'll just i sat there and i was fucking i won a million quid i went i won a million quid i'll fucking i said i was like fuck and at that when i leaned back i just went well i just felt this fucking missed internal missed lift and just go and that was it i thought i saw my debt done i saw my mum out i saw a few people i love had you know what i mean and just just done so many people helped me out before as well so the people that helped me out obviously i helped them out and looked after them and stuff like that and yes you'll get your pine layer on but um it's it's been it's just been it's enabled me to look after the people that had helped me through my life and it's just it's been it was i'll get like overwhelmed emotional just thinking about them like them the actual moment but it was you just don't you just don't think i look at it i look at the picture every day on my phone and it just i thought fucking hell like that man i relive that moment every single day and it keeps it don't get me wrong i've been a bit flamboyant but i've i've this hunt it humbles me and it just i just thought oh every i don't know as a kid i every every birthday i blew the candles out i always wanted to be a millionaire I was asked to be a millionaire I wish to be a millionaire and I thought yeah one day you know you get to life for eight four and you start losing a bit of like you start losing a bit of faith and is it ever going to fucking happen um but it's nothing like what I thought it was going to be growing up nothing like I thought it was going to be yeah because you know when you're younger and you know you just got innocent as such towards people do you know I mean and just life in general but winning it was a lot of getting fast I got rid of my debt bought my dream car got my name on it it just don't know little things are treating me mom i still got the video of my mom getting into her into her new car and it just if i honestly changed everything it did it's changed everything then it it just changed everything and that was it and i've had a couple more wins since and um Not on that, just on like online gambling and stuff.
32:23I ain't gonna go into that. And it's, the net worth has more or less doubled. It's over doubled. Like the cash net worth. And I was so grateful. Because it went at one point to£3 million, number three again. And it was three wins in total. And I was like, fucking hell, here we go again. Same fucking number again. and I was so fucking I see it blows my mind because I think about it every day but I'm just sat here with you and I was like I'm sitting here now because of that happening like just the fucking privilege of being here after obviously fucking we should have done it ages ago I just it just changed so much I remember when I've actually scratched the card I remember going to my mum I said right sit down I've got something to tell you.
33:21And just the whole day, it was mad. I was going to see a draft. I forgot to tell you earlier on. I went, it died weird. I was told to sit down. She sat down. I said, look at that. And she went, what am I looking at? I said, read the card. I was very impatient. I'm impatient anyway. I said, read the card. Slate the hand on the table. I said, what? I said, right, three rubies, match three. I said, what's it saying next to it? she went one mil she did he win a million quid I went no she went no why and she went fucking lit up she did and thought they called a snug in the house and she went in that's what I rang the lottery I rang the number on the card and when they confirmed it she was they would like imagine like a box room in like a box bedroom and the biggest fucking balloon you can imagine blowing up and someone letting it off boom boom but she went she was like she was fucking mental she did it was just such a I don't know I've gone back a little bit but the whole thing was just fucking chaos but it just the lot we put everyone around me looked after me they were very good and they really were and they worry about that I said don't worry they were really good and they've not paid me to say that my dad's grave no one's paid me to say anything like that it just they looked after me very well do you think that's after Big Michael Carroll remember the big man who won 9 million I don't remember him I've been reminded about it about literally a million times and he's just like it's difficult if you're coming from sort of working class mentality you know how can you manage look at Conor McGregor yeah come in with the mindset flying listen one of the greatest UFC fighters of all time when he was truly on it but 100 million fight and then everything kind of went a bit messy like when you've got that fuck you money it's hard for anybody to judge if you've never really stood in his shoes I'm not just picking on him listen he's still a family oh no whatever but i'm just saying michael carroll nine million went mad just everybody want a piece of you and even a million quid people might shoot us in the comments but it ain't that much when you've got it yeah do you know what i'm saying when you've not got it you can think or um you can do certain things but um i just think like people can look at it and think nah that's that's a lot of money but it fizzles fast especially if you've got debt you've got family members you've got friends you've got other people you know oh you get up there was there was a point it didn't come straight away like the people that were coming to me like to try and get the reddies off me didn't come straight away so i sort of dropped my guard a little bit when i thought surely i ain't got away with that because everybody warned and i thought nah and even some of the people that warned me ended up being some of the people who tried it and it fucking the like this is not my mispronouncing with lies but it is what it is um the women that tried honestly it was fucking disgusting some of the shit they were trying to say and do and fucking but basically whoring themselves off do you know what i mean the dirty fuckers and it was like it weren't it but it wasn't even like attractive it was just like you fucking scruffy bitch like it was just and don't get me wrong like I'm you know I'm not it really wasn't attractive it was like you knew what they were doing do you know what I mean and it went from that and I had fucking it was just everyone and like I said because I'd looked after certain people people have sort of seen that and thought well if he's dishing out some fucking reddies and it weren't even that much I just made like people's lives a bit easier than me but then it started happening and I was getting messages from...
37:04There was one point, I was in the New York Post, I was in Brazil, I had a thing in Times Square, I was like, what the fuck? I went literally way global off a fucking... I'm just a lad who lives in Corfuck, works in construction. And I think it had a little nudge from somewhere, from someone I know, but they'll never admit it. But even so, it was Australia, Brazil, fucking everywhere. Probably went in the fucking North Pole somewhere, but it spread so far and I started getting messages like from fucking everywhere in the world like please just do this do this and can we just buy can we borrow there's always a similar amount as well like four grand I don't know why it was like between under five though yeah there's more chance above three under five you know I think once it goes back I think that's a bit much like there must be we're just skimming for free there must be psychology behind that somebody's Googled something what's the right amount I bet they're kicking themselves now.
38:03If I'd have said three, I might have given. Do you know what I mean? Three, nine, nine, nine. So you win the lottery, you're buzzing, you feel as if there's a release in your life. Again, we'll go back through the procedures of how the lottery treat you, like lawyers and gambling. Because if you're a gambler as well, you can lose that within a day, a week, especially with online gambling and some websites. So what do the lottery do? What do they put in place to make sure you don't go? Because they must have seen it through the years. so maybe they've had their ass felt to say listen you need to start looking after people a bit more so what is it they actually do when you from the minute you phone them up and say you've won what's the procedure so they tell you so they confirm on the phone then they say then they refer you to a winner's advisor that took because it was Saturday I didn't speak to her till Tuesday I think it was or the Monday again the Saturday I won it I had a million pound scratch card sitting on the side and I was in bed just watching YouTube shorts I was watching a bit of you but everyone and it was just like i sat up behind i sat up in the bed i was like i could argue was looking at me right anyway ronnie comes around um i don't have mentioned her name but she was good as gold my winner's advisor um the lottery starts with the letter p it her name was penny right and she was good as gold lovely character personality she came around with another one i forgot what this this gentleman's name was um but there was two of them come round they've verified everything like in between from in that 11 days it'd all been verified and cleared they have to obviously verify the shop I think they checked the CCTV the transaction and just to make sure it was me so I'd send in like the ID and stuff picture of the card back and front and it it weren't damaged or nothing like that it was just like it was almost like perfect but I had to keep hold of it for 11 days and I thought fuck it mate it was the longest 11 days in my life and it's not me bad mouthing the lottery because there must be hundreds of winners a month they have to like go and see and there is if you think about all the winners that it's like it's over 50 grand where they have to get someone to go out to them and you think fucking hell there is loads of games that win over 50 grand every week and then when she told me when she was there about someone waited two years or someone there's a very rare things that happen there because honestly i thought that was quite swift considering what she told me when they got there about how busy they are but um yeah after just after the phone call from the winners advisor it was then eight days so 11 days in total before they turned up um to do all the signing of the paperwork confirm it all and then uh yeah the next day so when i signed it i still didn't have the fucking money right i had a letter to say like i've got this money if you want to go and buy something you just show them this letter and it's the same thing but i could check and she said what they do is something i I think they take, if you give it to, if you want to go buy a car, I think she said something, I might be wrong, don't quote me on this, but they give you a bit of paper, the thing on it, and she said, if you want to go in to buy anything, I'll put money down, or just to prove it to them, you can use this.
41:05I thought, fucking hell, that's dangerous. You just give me a million quid in my hand, like, do you know what I mean? But I didn't use it, and I kept, like, you know, to sat there on the fucking next day, because I'd arranged to buy the car, and it's my dream car, so I was fucking, it was about half twelve the next day, come in, and my mate had the day off I said have a day off I'll sort you a few quid I'll take you for breakfast done he went mate don't worry about it he said we'll just go so he sorted me out took me like a chauffeur for the day and um we went down we went back to my we didn't know when we was going to get the money got back he had a slash I went in the kitchen refreshed the balance I fucking lit up oh it was the first time I went mad I fucking gasped I'm banging the table this table's oh Christ heavy and I'm not I haven't been going to here I'd just been drinking like fuck for two weeks.
41:54So it was like, I'm not fucking yes. I'm not fucking, he come out, he went, he'd give me a big cuddle. I was in streams. I was in floods. And it just got in and there's a million and£12.40 in the account. I love the picture of it still. And that was another like, it was a core memory. I'm just flicking it down and going for the next three minutes. I remember banging the table. I couldn't tell you what happened until he pulled off my driveway and his car's going by my car. Thanks for you. Yeah, tax-free winnings in the UK. Yeah, tax-free. That was the first two things I searched. I was sitting in the car park when I won it, when I scratched it.
42:30I put in, do we pay tax? Then I went on to AutoTrader to look for a Rolls Royce. What car did you get? Range Rover Sport. Yeah, blacked out, in and out. My dream car. Every time I walk up to it at the driveway, I get giddy. I swear, it sounds soft, and I don't give a fuck. The comments will rinse me, so fuck you. like it literally I love it it's my dream car so I remember I forgot who it was now I think it was my uncle someone they had one when I was younger I remember seeing this car was it my uncle who broke my uncle word for somewhere and I understand or something like that Star Wars The Mandalorian and Grogu is now streaming on Disney Plus what are you waiting for hop on the must see galactic adventure comes home on Disney Plus this is the way our only chance is to work together I like this kid.
43:23Always wear your seatbelt. Star Wars The Mandalorian and Grogu. Now streaming on Disney+. Read PG-13. And we're back. Streaming on Peacock. May I present to you the award-winning staff of the Toledo Truth Teller. Slap me. Let's jar something loose. Ay, yes! I like that. The certified fresh series returns. Your boss. You always like this? Or is this just an act? Oh no, this is mad. Oysters, everybody! There's a certain satisfaction when you work with someone. Maybe we could be a family. You sadistic pig! The Paper. New season streaming September 9th, only on Peacock. This show gives me a reason to live.
44:04He had one, and it was fucking gorgeous. I always remember as a kid, I thought, one day I'll have one of them. And I got it, and I pulled out a Jaguar Lugger over in Norwich, who were superb, by the way. And they're not probably going to say it, but they were. and he got it and it was my dream to get it so he was like I was he said to me when I went back the next week he said oh you're a bit more calm this time buying your mum's car I said mate I couldn't even tell you what happened when I pulled out in my car so my brain sort of erased it I was that happy but I pulled out on the day of mine anyway pulled out got into day 47 to go back to my house I had to pull over in the first lay box uncontrollable crying I was fucking so I was just overwhelmed with emotion You seem to hold a lot of emotion.

44:48Yeah, I don't like to show weakness. People look at me and know they can sort of say you look soft or, you know. I'm glad I do, to be fair. Glad I do. Like us all are, we know a few people. I'm not fucking fighting anyone these days. Look at the size of me. I've got fucking blood clots in my leg and fucking both lungs. like it's that's just it's that's i ain't no scrapping no more do you know what i mean i didn't like it anyway didn't i just you know i just didn't like any of that i just need i think it was more i didn't want to worry my mum like with anything because because of how close we were i never took i was not scared but i sort of held back from anything like that and it was like obviously i've done you know we've all done little naughty things do you know what I mean but it's I try to sort of get away from it because I can't but once you realise you took a slap from somebody you realise you're not made a glass it's half fucking right game on do you know what I mean but I'll say now it's different and um what's happening with the blood clots yeah so it's um and by the way this is not a reflection on the lottery whatsoever this is me being a fucking selfish prick towards my mum's feelings disregard for my own health oh she's fucking shit I remember we getting wheeled out in the fucking trolley when I had these blood clots from the fucking paradise I'll never forget her face but um yeah so I won the money just went out every day every night after I won the money
46:23went out every day and night after I won the money partying just yeah just do you know what it was like I had a thing about going out and buying bottles of champagne everywhere and I was fucking like we cleared like pubs out left right and centre and it was just like it wasn't like a massive party every night but it was just like fuck it have another bottle 50 quid so it went bang and it was done it was like fucking sweat and every night it wasn't like every night we just champagne we'd have a few beers or we'd go and do something or like we'd go and do something or it'd always be we'd have a nice meal somewhere and we'd have a few drinks and then we'd just go on to the next one next one and then you wake up and you go for breakfast next thing you know it's half 11.
47:00Trancy a cheeky fucking pint or do you know what I mean and that was it and it was sort of like that for like three months how was the health before the lottery win it weren't bad I've always been a big big fella I'd swap the comments if you had the big but it ain't I've always been a big lad but the world record I'd done about 18 months ago on St George's Day I mean not last year the year before my health was good from that anyway what was the world record running the fastest mile through water like underwater or a thrub it. The pool was 1.25 metres high, so coming to like my nipple sort of height.
47:41And it was like a record, I think the record was like 39 minutes, 20 seconds of some feather in Baghdad. And just one night, this geezer said to me in the pool, he was following, it was just me and him in the pool at the gym in Norwich I go to. And he was just me and him in the pool, three lanes, and he was in the same lane about that far away from me. And I turned around and I kept feeling it. I said, are you fucking for real? I said, fuck off, will ya? I said, what do you want? I said, fuck it. I said, all this room and you're fucking trying to shag me in the pool. Fuck off. And he said, hold on.
48:13He went, hold on. I went, this better be good because you fucking, you're all going to get one. He went, you've been doing two lengths every 57, 58 seconds. I went, yeah. I said, so why are you trying to fuck me? Leave me alone. He went, mate, I'm not here for a round. I went, all right. I said, so what the fuck do you want? He said, that's quick. He said, there's got to be some sort of world record, innit? I went, it was very surreal when he said it. This geezer's a bit strange, right? And I've seen him a couple of times. And I got home and I went, yeah, sweet. I just fucking played it off. Now, I'm competitive, like I say, and I fucking, I was just like, I was like, I thought, is it a world record?
48:54And I fucking got on Guinness World Records, and it fucking was. And I was like, no way. and I thought so I worked it all out and I thought yeah I could probably do it in about 34 35 minutes the world record was um it was to be fundraised for a little girl called Grace my mum she's a reception manager I think or she was or still is I'm not quite sure um she's a receptionist at the reception manager at the gym and people at the gym it's a it's a lovely community at the gym I go to you know field health in Norwich um great staff great gym um and they they supported me through it and they're really good something we had to be we encountered a couple of like hurdles as you do you know you try and get everything set up there's so much to do you miss things but i'll say they um yeah we set that up done that as it fundraising for grace so we fundraised for little girl grace she's got a sma which is spinal muscular atrophy um i think it's a muscle wasting disease a muscle um i don't know how to describe it but her muscles deteriorate.
49:59I think we raised, I think it was 3 ,600 quid for just giving Paige. And I was so happy, Dad, Luke. All the lads on, I knew them as well. They went to school with them both. And there were some, there were some, there were some comments that went round and some cracks about that. But because Rebecca's quite fiery, bless her. But she's just, I respect it because there's no, she's like me there's no grey area when you talk to people like you want what you want and that's it do you know what I mean but they're lovely they're married they're lovely two little girls and so the world record was running a minute underwater and running he was running for a mile through water so the water came up to there and you couldn't use your arms so I had to run like that the whole time so is that just strength from the legs then yeah literally does the extra weight help though well yeah do you know what it was bad because I'm more water dynamic so still sitting here like that i'm on water dynamic apparently without anything it did so when you go into a run a water simulation machine you run so you get the treadmills in water now um one of them got analyzed and there was like a lot of athletes there i'm gonna say who it was um there was athletes there we knew them i knew who they were and they were running there was orange and red like arrows going around them on the end on the analysis i got in fucking all green not a specky yellow going around i said was that good she went yes perfect shape for running through water went no way and it was just like like aerodynamics it was just like they slide around you and it really was and it was just as i was training for it i learned ways of because i had to get to the end of the pool and turn but still keep the pace up but you had to touch a certain part of the pool and it was verified by two people by art even because we have the cameras that's why i'll go on to the bit of the verification bit um but you had to turn and it was just i was i found ways to stay like fluid through the before i'd say that about myself but fluid through the turns and i was i was like watching fucking gary lineker in the 1990s he was he was like fucking honestly i was turning it every turn was like more or less bang on and it was just it is i'll tell you what i did after the the morning of it i went in to do like an half hour warm-up before the tv and that got there and stuff like that.
52:25And I got back in the pool to actually do it and my feet wouldn't fucking, they wouldn't absorb the water. So for the first 20 lengths, I was slipping. I was like, fuck. By the time I got to 20 lengths, it felt like I'd done 60. And it was 64 and a half lengths or thereabout. And it was, by the time I'd done, I was fucking, I was knackered. But the adrenaline was like there because I knew I'd beat the record. then I had to go and get verified and all that but I got home and I was still buzzing there was loads of people at the house and I got home I couldn't relax and all of a sudden it just went boom I woke up like four hours later just gone and it was all just built up because I couldn't sleep right because my legs raking through training I put so much effort in like when I left work I was literally working two minutes away from the gym so it was easy to finish work go in the pool get the training done for four or five hours like literally running up and down like you know for just to get the stamina up so it's like you know doing that was like part of my health flight before this was i'll be honest with you weren't too bad but i've always been a big fella i'm not running marathons for fuck's sake you know what i mean but strength wise yeah my strength's there not at the minute but it was the strength was strength training with the weights as well i tried i tried high intensity but that's not for me like burpees and shit i'm still not that shape um it's just embarrassing how long it takes me to do one length to be fair but if you don't try you never know yeah it doesn't challenge you it doesn't change does it so why then you've got the weight lifted over your shoulder you've won a million quid you're pretty sweet yeah look why then just go because every time you speak about your mum you get emotional so you've let yourself slip you've got fucking blood clots you've not got a relationship with your mum like why are you going down that route when you know clearly what you should be doing I don't know I just I said I'm a very selfish man with a lot of things I was my only child I disregard that little fucking dickhead in America he's no family of mine but so I'm a single I'm not a only child and I guess I've like it's not like my mum's fault or no one's fault it's my own fault for just thinking that I don't know as a kid you felt untouchable because everyone was doing things for you and you look back on it and you think, fucking hell, I was properly sported like a little dickhead.
54:47Do you know what I mean? Everyone done everything for me. And I don't know. I feel like that, in essence, was the reason that I just went on a fucking mad one. It wasn't even a mad one. It was just the length of it. Like, it was just like... But that's a mad one. No matter what you sugarcoat it. No, it is. Yeah, it is. How long was that? It was around three months. so I got the money I need yeah it was mad that's a mad one there's no many I'm so sorry yeah I'm not here to shoot you down brother but that's a mad one I shouldn't be laughing when you're doing that your mother sees the leeches she sees the way you're going if you start putting on extra weight if you start getting blood clots if you start getting rushed into hospital the only person who sits at your hospital bed is your fucking mother yeah it wasn't all you know and you're trying to sugarcoat that it wasn't really a mad one you know deep inside what the fuck you've done I didn't cut off yeah but you know what I'm saying bro do you know what I mean like you're not daft either and like you said you were a bit selfish and it happens like one in a million quid listen if i end up winning a few million i could end up back in the sniff yeah because oh yeah that was that everybody thought it was but yeah the booze but i'm just talking about my own life i'm talking about you never know my life is going good drink free drug free smashing it yeah but i do that to work and try and provide for the people around me but if you end up getting that extra bit of money i might just go fuck this yeah because that booze and gear that takes me away there's no issues when i'm on that recession obviously when you sober up it's a different story but i didn't want to sober up so i would keep going so if you've got that constant funding for gear and booze and parties i don't know if i would ever stop so it's a dangerous game to be get money in such boat and a boat like that so it's understandable why you fucked it as well because you probably had that chase in this dream having no money in your bank working to then getting money and it's not as if you think oh i'm better than everybody now but there's a sense of fuck you i'm going to show you i'm the big man so yeah that's when you can completely lose yourself but when did you know that all right it was going a bit too far when my legs started hurting and it weren't and just to clear up like because you'll watch it right it that is what that was his story not mine it was me I'll have a drink right and last I was going out so that was my that's why I went on and a bit gambling rah rah whatever but you know now because I've spoke about the extra money so but because she'll worry about that I'll say listen to it listen to what he said you know but mummy's boy obviously I'm proud of it because I love her to death but how did the relationship break down with you and your mum it didn't really break down as such it was sort of It was my...
57:27It's not... Obviously, she tells me, she's not a drinker. My mum's done nothing bad. She's just so straight-laced. And I wish that I could take a leaf out of her book, but I live with so much from my childhood. And it's not an excuse. It's not her fault. Nothing. I'm not a prick like that. I take responsibility for my own actions, and that's the end of it, right? But I live with so much noise in my brain that when I'm on that, the noise stopped in the car that day, right? and it was like fucking hell like and the noise are completely stopped there was no fucking voice nothing i've got a little voice in me i have a chat with when i was in the forklift or when i'm in the car and it just helps me it's like i'm not you know nothing like that i start like you know but that's just i hear the i don't hear voices but i hear voice i hear that voice like the inner voice um and it just everything just went quiet and it just fell for fucking that's lovely and while it was quiet i just fucking enjoyed it i was having cocktails fucking champagne and ice and all that i was right fucking giving it the old roger moore weren't i but um there are pints of champagne with fucking i see it on the rise of the foot soldier films barman point you find his champagne but honestly i walked into the public senate and it just honestly it just it was it was mad but i got used to that the silence was lovely and it was just like fucking i went on and what was the question again i was going to break down with you and your mum that's it yeah so i carried on and she sort of said oh can you just slow down we drink you know you're drinking this and yeah yeah yeah and i just got the noise still didn't come back but i knew that that was someone warning me through my mum to fucking slow the fuck down you know i mean she can see it and it was it wasn't a breakdown as such it was just like a little a weakening of the of the connection because we'll never not be a strong team like a literally bulletproof team maybe
59:27And we always will. Yeah, we kissed and made up, kissed and cuddle, made up. Had a couple of rows.
59:38And I don't know, it just... I think that something... I feel like something from my dad. I'll tell you about the ambulance in a minute. I feel like my dad sent this money to me. Or sent me to go to scratch. He's guided me to the scratch guard. and I feel like he gave me a blood clot to stop me because he could see me and my mum were on a collision course. So I started getting this pain in my left hip. I felt my hip for years, but I felt my bones for years to be fair. But I started getting the pain. It travelled down the outside of my left leg, stopped at my knee, and then for like half a day, woke up and it was down like the bottom of the calf, and then it moved to my foot.
1:00:24but before I started getting like loads of cramps at night and it was both feet my toes were pointing I woke up fucking ah my toes were pointing in the middle of the night because my calves had cramped I didn't think nothing of it this was all going through the three-month party whatever you want to call it um so it went down the left side of the leg traveled up the inside of the right and then back it went and then come back up the outside of the left and then it started going down the right and I thought what the fuck is going on and then it come back went to the left and it started getting bad.
1:00:55So that was over like a three-day period, I think. I can't really remember. I suppose some clever bollocks and the good comments will remind me and all the rest of it. But it was just like it stopped. And I thought, oh, fucking hell. And every day after that, it got harder and harder to walk. And I remember by about, I think it was like seven days left, eight days. I was really bad. I didn't go out in the car the day before because I felt fucked. And I was like, hey. But obviously living at home at the time was the best thing for me because of the money. Rah, rah, rah. It was a conversation with my mum.
1:01:27So I stayed just so she didn't fucking cry and be upset. So I stayed there. And I remember getting up on this eighth day, seventh or eighth day, the last day I went to the hospital. And I sat up on the edge of my bed. I'm laying down. I sat up on the edge of my bed. And I was like, I was breathing. Like you can probably hear now on this, but I was breathing. And it wasn't working. but I could feel the deep breath but I couldn't it wasn't there was fuck all happening and I looked up with a skylight by my bed and I thought this might be it and I was gagging for a piss I sat up I thought right get up and go toilet fucking hell stood up and I was like it was like someone had pushed the air out through my feet out of my lungs and I was like should we kick his head in?
1:02:11no shit but um it was almost like someone as I stood up had pushed the air straight out down through my feet and I just I was like fucking hell, completely fucking like dizzy and sort of like empty, like sort of thing. I was like fucking hell. But I was absolutely gagging for a bit. So I got to the toilet. By the time I got to the toilet, I was like, like the shelf in front of the toilet. I stood there and it was like, just, I don't know how to. I was just like, just get home with it, job done. And that one, so I was like, yes, touch. But I fucking stood there and just like, and every fucking second that went by, I thought I'm going to fucking die.
1:02:49I can't breathe. As I fucking walked out of the bathroom, I had to rush. I looked in the mirror briefly and I could see I was like a pale white sort of yeller. I thought, fucking hell, and I got back from here to probably where he's sitting, back to my bed and just fucking slammed down about half ten in the morning, right? I thought, I'm not going to tell him I'll dig because he'll worry her at work. So I laid there, right? And I thought, wait, she gets back, then I'll tell her so she doesn't fucking worry her at work. don't know why I thought that didn't want to worry I thought she drives home she might crash so I just thought I'll wait the whole time I was waiting I didn't know the time was flying I didn't know it was flying
1:03:35yeah time was flying and it I didn't realise until I come out of hospital I was about an hour away from dying the nurse I said listen to me I said because I got in my way with this nurse Denny I said I said what I said how I said how no one's answered this question I said how bad were these blood clots and she said when you came to us we were told you was about an hour maybe two away from dying and she said if you'd have waited any longer you probably wouldn't be here and I was sat I went fuck I just thought fucking hell like Star Wars The Mandalorian and Grogu is now streaming on Disney Plus what are you waiting for hop on the must see galactic adventure comes home on Disney+.

1:05:33Greater than 50 gigabytes may slow when network is busy. See terms. Unbelievable. So if any pains you're getting, you fucking ask to travel up and down your legs, I don't care how fucking small they are if they travel around your legs you can feel it travelling over a three four day period go to the fucking hospital and tell them you've probably got blood clots and describe your fucking symptoms and it came from the lifestyle that I chose after I won the money because like I said the lottery did not did one bit push me that way they looked after me with everything I could fucking ever ask for it was my own choice it was the selfishness that had come through from that untouchable feeling that I had growing up as a kid because every woman was nice to me.
1:06:14Like, everyone did got me stuff. I was spoiled. That's where it come from. And that's the thing what... It led to the bickering with my mum. Do you know what I mean? It led to the rouse. Because we never had rouse. We never had a... You know, when you... Have a little bit of a crack with her, but like... A bit of a banter, sort of like a serious banter sort of thing, but... Not like we had. So it's like, but she... Yeah. She gave me this one bollocking, though. 39 year old, got a monarchy. We get angry because we don't want to hear the truth. Yeah. And that's the fucking main ingredient. When you know you're fucking up, when you know you're basically killing yourself, when somebody gives you the few home truths, it's the, listen, the people you love the most, you can tell who loves you the most because they're the ones who tell you the fucking brutal honesty.
1:07:01You don't want to hear, listen, you're in a shite relationship or you're dying, you've got fucking problems here. A good person will just keep you smiling because they know they can keep taking. So these ones drinking champagne with you and whatever That's exactly what it is They're not friends They're just fucking not giving a fuck if you die It's the home truths come from the people who truly love you That's exactly it You know and once you get those home truths It's a bitter pill to swallow And sometimes that's why we stay alone Because we can do it all discreetly, secretly And nobody will know about people Like mums have got intuition Even when I was gambling, trying to stop gambling My mum knew you're gambling again I used to get angry because she was fucking right and I would say, oh, Mark, you're fucking doing us all the time.
1:07:43Sometimes she would get it wrong. The majority of times she would get it right though. Yeah, he didn't correct her. I'm getting it wrong. Yeah. But no, mine was, I went and started with crypto. So she thought it was drugs and it was gambling. Crypto is gambling, do you know what I mean? And you go into all these different, it was all sort of new when I was doing, that's why I was living like paycheck to paycheck when I was doing my job. And, you know, she'd guess, but she never guessed it. I probably just said, but it's just, everything's good now, but it's like she'll probably kick me fucking head when she hears this but end of the day it weren't like i thought i was going to be making the millions that i was always on course for i suppose so now it weren't i was trying to put all these fucking all this money into crypto i thought yeah i'm gonna be fucking a millionaire cash out fucking dubai wherever i'm dubai but wherever do you know what i mean just somewhere that fucking it was like an escape because i didn't like my life back then i just didn't like what well i didn't necessarily fucking like the life the money brought to be honest with you but it was just like i lost the structure when i want the money so it was just like i'm just i don't know how to describe it i don't know i didn't like the life before or necessarily hate it but i didn't necessarily like it and it's the same sort of thing with the with the money if i'm being honest it just makes everything a little there's just a little touches of like luxury there and just like you know it just do you think that's you though as a whole like no matter with the money or without it it's you who's battling it's yeah it's yeah so it's always going to be, it's always going to be, I'm always being me.
1:09:08People are expecting me to change and some people will still say that and these people are the ones I've said no to. And everyone's had their, trust me, everyone's had their fucking opinions, right, of what to do with a dough and you should be doing this and that. I mean, even I was speaking to my mum and she was, no, I didn't do that. And I thought, I don't even know why the fuck I'm asking anyone, like, even not in no disrespect, but even my mum and my step, I thought, I'll just go and do it. and we'll get into where I'm going after and all that, but it was like, I'm just going to stop asking people because some of the people that I'd fucking help tell were the ones that said, are you wasting your money?
1:09:45Are you doing that? And I'm like, I'm just, what? You didn't say anything when I was buying that. And I'm not going to say who it was, but it was fucking... It was just very hypocritical. And I was like, fucking cheeky bastard. But like I said, I'm not going to say who it was because I'll get a slap around the fucking head for it. but um i just thought fucking cheeky cat so i just started lying to people yeah i was doing this then someone said oh i bet you pissed that all at the morning i said yeah i've got five grand left coming back in february to work in the forklift what next thing you know text you're coming back to work february i went yeah i'll be back soon yeah so nearly done my last five grand just spread a little rumor people love to chat love to fucking chat but not like at one stage did anyone ever think adam might turn that around a little bit adam might actually do something with him adam might you know he's actually got something about him where he could do it and i've done it and yes i had the gambling bits and all that but i still invested into property but i did it in the way where i was it was educated whereas people's opinions are uneducated and it's the amount of times honestly if i could have pulled me ears off and filled it up with concrete I'd have fucking done it, because I was sick to death.
1:10:58I wish I had money. I don't know how much it would cost, but just to go and get switches on me ears. Even though, I don't know, my hearing aids or something, just to turn it off. I don't know how they work, but just... I was at the point, like, fucking, don't just get the scissors and just fucking cut them off so they don't work anymore. I was sick to death of people. They were trying to care and stuff like that, but it was almost like a backhanded, like, thing of, like, what they could get out of it. And it... I was so... I can't even give you an example, but... it was so annoying. It was just so...
1:11:27But that passed, and I started doing my own thing. I went quiet on socials for a little while, and just done my own thing, and just got a few little bits put in place. Just bring a nice little bit back in. I don't want to go too much in today, because people will start talking on none of that, but we're good. How bad was the gambling, or what were you betting on? It was crypto. So it's because you literally... Bitcoin. There's Bitcoin. It was LTE. XRP weren't too bad to be fair. I think it was the only one that I've made on, to be fair, but even that one a lot and the doge the dogecoin dogecoin come out in time as well just for I'll stop doing it for the win I've put nothing into crypto since I won the money it's all been that it's been online gambling what do you gamble on do you put horses on dogs I'll go on the online spinners or I'll go on the live roulette or something like that I don't really go to the bookies because it stinks of piss do you know what I mean I'm not asked about a bet I never seem to win in the bookies and I've not done since I was young so I was like I'll still go in there but I just don't like they're just like every time you go in somewhere I just I'll get a bad feeling so I'll go online excuse me
1:12:37so I'll go online and it's I'll put like it's between like 200 and 300 pound in and I'll go through and I know that the second time once I've done that I'll put a 200 pound in it seems to be 500 600 quid the sweets bar so i'm quite fucking the sweets bar i'm a gab but it's not and the things start spinning differently and i had a come in i had 120 grand come in i'm not going to say the website because it's not on gamestop and it's it'll it'll make people look at it i'm not going to do it i found it through a recommendation that's what i won't do that because it'd be very unfair with people. I scored 120 or 160 grand and then I had a 988 grand one but I'd only put in, for them two totals, I'm sure I'd put in, it was no more than like 1 ,500 quid but then you worked up the number.
1:13:39It was on two different games and you just worked up and all of a sudden, you was over 100 grand and I went, fucking hell. And I carried on spinning I've got four jackpots. You've got the Ultramax, Mid and Mini. And I spun. And it was like a spinner on the screen. There was four squares left. And on the last spin, all four came in. And I won£808 ,000 on that. I was like, fucking hell. And then the last one was like 1.4 million. It was like an Alice in Wonderland or something, like a bush. And it was the second biggest jackpot. I was like, fucking hell. It was English. It was based in England. it's registered in England, no tax.
1:14:20I was like, fucking hell. And I couldn't believe it. That's the first time my mum would know about it. I don't know anyone would know about it. And it's mad, but it's just been put away in other stuff. I won't say anything, but it's been put away in other stuff, all legal, all above board. There's people, there's accountants in place, everything else to get everything paid. So, and that makes me sleep well at night because people try and dodge everything like that. and fair enough but I want a fucking quiet after everything that's happened I want a quiet fucking life and do you know what after all the rows all the thing everything and just and then meeting my partner who I've loved since we grew up together and I finally got I'm getting that peace in my brain now again and do you know what without her I don't think I'd have got it to be fair but I'm alright with my mum me and my mum were alright I've always been all right.
1:15:18She knows I'd say, even any day. I'll always die for my mum, take bullets for my mum, or whatever you want to call it. She knows that. But we do bicker every now and then. But you're just speaking? I was speaking, yeah, yeah. We're good at going. Do you feel as if it can be better, though? Yeah, but then I like her because she's married. I just like her to, like, it's just nice for her to, I like them spending time together because she's never had a partner who's really cared about her. And now, like, her partner, like her husband now, my stepdad he does know they're like get honest it's lovely watching them sometimes they're they're like the old married couple if you like and they're all like every now and then a little bit of banter and he's like half muttering one ear she's half muttering the other ear so it's like it's listening to them they're like and sometimes they don't even know they're talking to each other and i stand in the kitchen pissing myself off what the fuck and someone just slipped me lsd do you know what i mean like what's going on in this fucking house and it just it's just there's this sound and it's nice just to see her happy and that's all i've ever wanted because i grew up seeing watching her not be happy and she didn't she wouldn't know she she wouldn't know that she i think i told her a couple times but it is i'll see her happy growing up but i saw her more unhappy and going through what she went through so it's um yeah so it's just i just try i would sit down with my many time and you know we'd have a chat we'd have a cup of tea we're best mate but it's just nice to be able to see her and watch her just just be happy and just be at peace with like you know she's she's such a beautiful woman inside and out and to be able to the man to be able to marry her I was always going to be a lucky man she's like I've got a lot of admiration love for me mum always will have always have done and she's a hell of the world mate she really does she serves the world and I tried to give it to her and I still would give it to her If I could find a way Giving the world And everything in it To her She knows I would But her world Is only seeing you happy Yeah She doesn't want fuck all Yeah That is it That's all she wants So for you to give her the world Is just to see you happy And like you say At peace But even Listen Looking from the outside I've got to be honest It looks as if You're struggling with shit bro Yeah what Also what do you think I feel as if You need to work on your health You are Because when you're walking And they're swimming and you're feeling good and just cutting away all the bullshit because everything's internal, you know?
1:17:45And I think you need to patch it up with your mum. I don't care. I think what you're saying about your mum, you still speak. I think there's something missing there. Yeah. I think there's something needs patched up. And listen, I'm not a therapist, but I've interviewed enough people to see, okay, listen, you're maybe battling here and you're very good at masking it all. The lottery's masked it because of the champagne lifestyle, but that's a fake lifestyle, that doesn't it? it is a fuck all that's so fake so for me the main one is to patch it up and be completely honest because there's no point in hiding because nothing changes from lies especially to yourself so if you just whatever it is you've got going on and try and patch it up I think that would really make the steps to find that piece because you're searching for it but you're not going to find it on a gambling fucking roulette machine or a nah that's all stopped now that's all stopped fucking I ain't going to push me not knowing what we're at but the biggest the biggest thing is you've just hit it on the head it's just it is I just I should make more time for my mum that's very selfish isn't it because the emotions are and obviously you're not what to speak on camera I don't know what it is but there's something deeper there you can see clearly see every time you speak about your mum you're ready to break down it's just I just because I've never really spoke to her about this like I never really spoke to her about the stuff that happened like what I remember from I've touched on it but it's like scared you it's this oh fucking massively yeah and it's just like I just remember like being scared of our partner but the man who was in my life and her life for 18 years when I was growing up he was just I remember like some of the rows they had and he used to fucking scare me and shit when I was like 6-7 years old didn't do nothing like mental like they'd ever beat you?
1:19:28no he'd come close though and she didn't know that but he's been dealt with since all this happened when I grew up and grew up hair bollocks another story for another time but it's i've just i've lived i've lived with it and i've tried to put even when i've opened up about it there's like she's still she's like no i don't remember that and i'm like and i don't mean she's lying but i'm like you do like but that shows that you both are similar then yeah very similar me and my mum like she's the she's the she's the woman version of me i'm the man version of her like it's just that that is that's it that's why we've always been a team that's why I always get emotional when I talk about her because she's like I'd do anything for her do you know what I mean it's like it does it hurts that we it hurts that we're good but it hurts that I shouldn't have fucking argued with her that was the fucking biggest I should never have done it right but it was like I went out I was at the house and I went out and I went out for an Uber it's cut me arse I had a couple of drinks well if you didn't have drink you should have wear in the car and got it yourself alright went out got a uber and we're back streaming on peacock may i present to you the award-winning staff of the toledo truth teller slap me let's jar something loose ay yes i like that the certified fresh series returns your boss you always like this or is this just an act oh no this is mad oysters everybody there's a certain satisfaction when you work with someone maybe we could be a family you sadistic pig The Paper.

They don't show up on Maps or Uber Eats sometimes or whatever it is. Anyway, so I said, I'll stand outside. I said, I said, you'll see me. I left so I opened the car put the keys in my pocket after I got the Uber but I left my phone and my wallet in the car the wallet's got like fucking a grand in it or something and she said to me like numerous times don't leave the fucking wallet in the car because it'll get robbed the car will get robbed the place where we live we're not getting robbed do you know what I mean we're not getting fucking robbed but fair enough right went back down about 20 seconds later where are you going right from the snug right and I was like all right I was just fucking the red me I couldn't stop it but I went back I thought I'm not gonna kick off home we go upstairs I just texted her I said what the fuck you talked about for and that at that moment I was fucking disgusted with myself but I couldn't stop I could not stop and I always regret it went down I said sorry to her and she said that that she didn't like a few weeks later in front of me uncle she didn't trust me and I was like and it sort of all made sense and I thought well 40 million well you ain't really fucking act in any other way to make you think any different have you so it's your own fucking fault that's what my head said to me i thought fucking hell where's your support but i fucking need it do you know what i mean but it is and it's the selfish part of me again and it's the selfish part of me the self-awareness is the selfish part of me has made her feel like that and so it's my own fucking fault you know and you know we'll have a big we'll have a big cuddle after she sees this i know we will and it's just it will be all right we'll always be all right yeah I'm the fucking bodyguard do you know what I mean no one's fucking ever going to if they do this fucking magic phone call it wouldn't happen do you know what I mean I will always guard my mum with my life so yeah it's just it's more of the I allowed myself to fucking argue with my mum and have the disrespect for somebody who's always stood by me and then I had the fucking disrespect to go up there and question while she shouted because she didn't trust me once I found out a few weeks later.
1:24:25No, you fucking selfish prick. Your fucking actions have fucking made her feel that way. So change, sort yourself out. Change your fucking ways. Some things just want to tell you to stop being a cunt. Do you know what I mean? And that's the top and top of it. You first person is fucking missing you. When the body and that starts breaking down, that's when you need, that's warning shots. Sorry for the language. Yeah, that's okay. Listen, do what you want, bro. but when you were on your hospital bed who was the only one there? My mum came in, my stepdad, had a couple of mates come in. But a lot of people didn't come in.
1:24:59But then some people were due to come in but then, is it C. diff? The infection? We all got tested for that and someone had it. So fucking hell, they went from, if you want someone in, they've got to dress up like them doctors in E.T. when they went to get him out of the house. It was like hazmat suits everywhere. I was like, fuck. They shut it all off, and I was the last room there. Because I think the night before, two nights before, a patient had died in the ward. And you heard it. You heard him getting resussed. And all I heard was, I heard the first one, and I heard analysing. And I thought, that's got to be a defib.
1:25:35And there you were, it was boom. And you heard it again. And all the curtains went round. Because all the doctors were round this one bed. Curtains went round, and it was fucking, he woke up the next morning, and he was gone. And I thought, fuck, it was completely empty. And yeah, and apparently, it was him who had it. but it had spread, the doctors had touched, so we all had to get tested for it. I ended up in my own private room, and... Yeah, where was it going with that? I was just asking who was at your bedside, because I said, sure, it's always the family, it's always the close ones. We are there when the people you're partying with giving money to, they don't show, bro.
1:26:07Yeah. When you win the lottery, people might think life's changing, but what are the negatives of actually winning seven-figure sums? Just the leeches, just the people. Sorry, it was the leeches, the people. like um people that direct you towards a purchase they want to make or it was just as you as it as the days went on you sort of discovered the the methods that were using and i'll say that the the women that was doing it before um literally offering themselves out and i'm like you got some of them were like one of them was married the other one had fucking had a fella the other one was like oh come and meet the kids and all this and i was like i was like this is mad like this you're gonna fuck with your kids lives just because you want like two grand again it was between that little life it was between like a certain amount and i was just like and then i started i thought right i said i'm gonna do so I'm going to start testing so I'll show you the bill then I'll pay it none of them can produce a bill and it stopped it so it must have got round because people just stopped right and I'll just show you the bill and I can justify it to me accounts like oh just show it I can do it for you show me the bill oh no well I ain't got it in I was like well I said well fuck off then what are you going to do and you have to start being ruthless and it is horrible because I'm not like that necessarily like that being in the fort if you get a thick skin and you start sometimes you have to be a bit tasty sometimes it gets you in trouble and it helped with this, right?
1:27:45And it was... I had to be an arsehole sometimes. I don't like it, but then once you realise that it actively makes people fuck off and leave you, it becomes addictive. And then you go back to that, the addiction, like gambling or going on crypto, and you think, fucking hell. So next when I turned up, I forgot who it was now. And I was like, are you taking a fucking piss? What? I said, fuck off, will ya? I said, leave me alone. I'll tell your missus what you're fucking doing. I'll never fucking tell them. But they didn't know that. Oh, well, you're not like that. I said, fucking try me. Like, it was like, literally, I was just like, batting them people down.
1:28:25And it made me trust no one. And I'll come into like, like yesterday's meeting I told you about, and even them two, they supported me for fucking years with the Thought Lift videos and stuff. And even them, and I just apologised to them. I said to them, I said, there's nothing, i said i just didn't trust no and just like the negatives were the leeches were mad and then like my best mate i sent him like 1500 quid because my best mate i was best man at his wedding right and i love him to death with we've made up since i sent this money he's like i was skin and the kids need um uniforms two kids their uniforms and i said let me just send you 1500 quid sound you see what you do i said yeah sweet he's sitting there so i'm just sitting there drinking a warm you got a pint of champagne I went yeah well what are you going to do about it do you know what I mean like just have a laugh with him and it's I said give me some details I sent it over £1 ,500 and about two hours later he sent back just getting my priories right all of the case of virgin wines or naked wines 24 case the red classics it was or something and I went back I was like just told me about this fucking you just told me you're struggling in spit site you got fucking credit card bills pay the kids need things i was more asked about the kids because they need stuff to need whatever they need i wouldn't let them know because my best mate they're technically my kids if he dies i felt like killing him when he did it to be fair but he um and then he didn't mess his back i sent back i said you cheeky fucker like laughed i said good job you be best mate i thought i don't know if i can fucking accept that to be fair and i was like, like, if you, is, am I fucking seeing things here?
1:30:12Text back two hours later, I said, I said, you were right, is everything all right? He went, yeah, I'm just polishing off the Chinese that you brought me in the missus. And it was like a fucking 30 quid order. And I was like, I'm not arsed, like, you're eating, you're telling me that you're skint and people are never as skint as what they make out, ever, ever, ever. And, you know, I've looked after the people, that looked after me, sound. But there's some that I wish I'd just fucking literally... I didn't give loads away. Like, it's not loads, but even if it was like 20 quid and they're still cutting me off, it's still a liberty, isn't it?
1:30:50Do you know what I mean? Like, it's not... I would never disrespect him like that. And when I went on to see him on Sunday, after I finished, I'd left the missus. Left the missus. and went to me for a pint in Ketrin before I left for Norfolk. Met up and I remember him, he came in and I'd seen him for a few years. We just went back to normal again. I wanted to kick his head in before I saw him. And I thought he's going to come in here. I'm just going to stand there fucking whacking around the head just to fucking get me point across. But he's me brother at the end of the day. What's Lee Fleek new?
1:31:27It's getting a lot more quiet. And it's quiet, peaceful. i'm in love and it's just it's nice i've got businesses on track um so obviously said about investing in property and um yeah going in so technically entrepreneur don't know what i don't really got a title but i'm someone who wants to invest in a franchise um the norfolk trade center is the parent company or the trade group um the trade center group is the parent franchise company if you want um and they want to spread out and um yeah we offer everything from custom workwear and got my sticks and like high vis boots workwear all different specs and because it's all funneled back to the main hub it looks after the local area so norfolk's given me an extraordinary life as we know and it was an opportunity for me to give back so make everything that little bit better in price for the locals as much as we've had banter between us and there's been a few fall hours but i do love it around norfolk i love it i love living there it's got its own like it's got a character to it right and everyone will go now you're going into business because you want to earn money well yeah but if you wanted to do it you fucking do it then everyone who goes into business is taking a gamble but this one is a tried and tested um uh business model i can't go too far into it but it's it's it's there and it's with the two the two fellows who i'm going into with it our business potential business partners they believe in me they've made me um they've inspired me to come back to who i am like adam lopez the I miss and love and miss so much and I'm nearly there now.
1:33:25And if I put that together, I pair that with making up Fully in Love and this franchise takes off and I said, don't say a name, my partner with Fully in Love. Yeah, once they're all aligned, I'll be back, but a lot more defined version of what I want to be. But then I have to pair this all. None of this works without my health being where it needs to be. And you hit two very big things on the head there. You knew straight. You knew anyway. You know the score. Do you know what I mean? Don't take a rocket science. It's either snow. I know it's the blood clot, but I could do more to help them disappear.
1:34:08So I'm on warfarin, and warfarin helps the blood not stick, which allows the blood to remove the blood clots. And I could do a lot more. I could do a lot more. I could and he said I will now honestly I sat there and I listened to you and it was like another surreal moment of sitting here with you and I was like yeah he's bang on and he's like yeah he's saying everything right and I sat there and he was like yeah I fucking just listen there's someone else telling James to tell you to fucking sort yourself out so none of this works without my health but some things coming from people you don't really know helps more massively you know and it's not nice like when I was fucking bad on the gambling and the gear people told me all the time but I knew best I would just fuck them off I'd cause an argument that I didn't have to speak to them so like it's I've been there I've done it I wore the t-shirt and there's it's just the way you said it we're all the great pretenders no matter who it is you know and it's all about trying to find that sort of balance and enjoy life you know and you can see how emotional you are speaking about family but that's the key element of sorting things up and sometimes putting your hands up but we don't want to admit defeat of guilt sometimes but it's all I think that's when you've got that clean slate because our mums know everything no matter how much we hide no matter how much we lie they see through the bullshit would you ever change anything from the past if you could what would it be there's no point there's no point in changing from the past because I wouldn't be sitting here with her I can't lie like I've had I've not had a bad life I've always like being the I was brought up well like my uncle's in construction it was my uncle's company I was the fucking boss's I was the boss's nephew and as much as I grew up with the lads and I love you all before you fucking start and we had some laughs lodging away I was still growing up and I was very immature excuse me I was very immature and And I was annoying.
1:36:15I was annoying at school. But I was the little tanned Mexican kid in school when the racism was still there with a lot of people. So it was harder for me to fit in at primary school to going to secondary school. It was the same thing. It wasn't racism at work by any means, but it was the same sort of not fitting in feeling at work. But this time the problem was I was the boss's nephew. And then we got out on the piss. One of the best jobs in the world we've ever done, right? It was Livingston. and we stayed in Linlifco. There was a massive Tesco distribution warehouse they did in Livingston and we laid the concrete for her.
1:36:50And there was two gangs. There was the English gang and the Scottish gang. They said, which one do you want to go in? I said, yeah, we'll go to Scotland. We was lodging away in these little cabins in Linlifco, 50p in the metres and everything. It was like going back in time. But it created a fucking, like, it was like, fucking hell, just put us in a hotel. Do you know what I mean? I don't have to keep paying for electric. I'm lodging away to work for you. Do you know what I mean? and it just sort of like it was niggles and i tried going back to the english gang and then it was like oh yeah because you fucking his nephew you know you can just do what you want and it honestly i was fucking just had enough of it i love the lads we all still talk now they're they're my they're my elders and that's not a dig that way is a little bit but um i wouldn't change anything i would change sorry sorry i would change no i'm gonna stick with it i'm gonna stick with it because if you changed if you if you go back and change the past you you're never going to know you know things might not happen for you you don't know what's going to happen in the next fucking five minutes do you know what i mean so why i'd rather i'd be more excited about knowing obviously we're never going to know but i'm more excited about what's to come because of like there's there's factors in my life now that are changed and it's i mean i'm on the right tracks now so it's i know that there's once these these four key factors are all done and in place that my life is going to be where i want it to be again and it's not it will take literally it won't take many months of dedication to get that initial period out of the way to make them all connect but it's eliminating the negatives 100 yeah because when i opened the door to one everyone fucking came through not just the booze the gear the gambling it was it was five or six The overeating Everything came with it Fucking everything But when I started Eliminate one at a time Better things happened Yeah Less arguments Better father Better son Nobody else was to blame When there was disagreements It was either me Who was causing it So it was everything I eliminated all the negatives By eliminating the stuff That I was doing So everybody that's got Problems in life Is exactly them That's creating the problems No matter how many fingers We can point That's only From my own life You know everybody's different But you'll tend to see this 99.9 % spot on when everybody else is this and that and blaming we're the fucking issue you have to want to change yeah you have to want to change and it's the same if you help someone else they have to want to change and when they don't and you try and help you think you fucking wanker you're wasting me time you have to identify the people that have to want like they want to change so if they don't you fucking piss in the wind don't you know what i mean and it's that but it's like you say it's the self-awareness of yourself self-awareness and me of what now I know and I've been fucking honest with myself and even now 100 % after today after what you said to me about me mum and I appreciate it I really do and it's made me aware of that that you know get that right as well life's too short as well very short mate it's also a life of two halves mate because the first half weren't it wasn't shit but it wasn't easy but you know when I say it's a short life It's not a great life The streets are good But it's not a great life When you're You're dealing with So many different situations Internally Because you talk about Noises and voices That's just through Stresses and pressures And always trying to Make everybody else happy There's no point To try to make everybody else happy If you ain't happy yourself Certainly And that was me The loudest man in the room Bit of gear Booze Birds Yeah I thought I was the Billy Big Bollocks But nobody's seen me The Tuesday The Wednesday The Thursday When I was trying to recover Crying and depressed And thinking I was a failure You know and the sad thing is if you're winning lotteries and got a bit of dough when you're lying in hospital people are happy but they'll still text you hope you're okay deep inside they think fucking smug cunt buying cars and champagne who do you think you are?
1:40:40not many people want to see you win either and I am going through a bit of shit the now and you know who's wanting to ride that storm with you and you know who's wanting to run for cover the majority of fuckers run for cover but the beautiful thing is me, I'm very calculated I'll wait a year two years, five years you know and I think okay let's go now and it's it's never finished and they say silence is here which is it is important sometimes is to do it all behind the scenes and then pop up and say look I'm still doing it you know yeah what about where do you think your life would be if you never won the lottery I'd probably still be fucking driving the floor if doing the same shit being unhappy I'd still be going to the gym regular that's one thing it's the regularity with a gym because it'll be like every now and then do you know what I mean it's like going to the pool and there's no fucking effort there i know there isn't this being real myself um work made me go to the gym regular um it made me value my time better value my time more it made me use my time a lot more efficiently um by the end of the day i was still getting up for 45 hours a week for someone else's dream and if you're willing to do that then you should be willing to get up for the probably it doesn't matter how many hours it is because you're chasing your own dreams but if you're willing to do that for someone else you should be willing to do it for yourself and all and that's what takes me on to that's what took me on to you know uh potentially going to the this franchise so it's just like without the win i would never have been able to have these like the opportunities i've had and stuff like that but if not i was happy i was i was in a comfort zone for so i've been in comfort zone for fucking 39 years let's be honest 100 % of my life not so much at the minute probably last six months i haven't but up to the win yeah i was i was just happy oh sweet you got work having next couple of weeks sweet and that was it i was just working with day bang pub after work and and everything else it was just like yeah i'll probably still be doing the same thing because i wasn't a driven person i wasn't a driven person but it's the winning has made me realize how much you how much you like you can achieve with you don't even like you don't need the millions you literally if you learn excuse me if you learn how to how money works how economy works and how credit works um and how once you've righted them wrongs like righted your credit a credit's a big one once you've you've righted all them wrongs and you know got rid of all the black spots and your credit and learned a little bit about business and i've learned a lot It's been like a fucking intensive crash course over the last six months.
1:43:24Once you learn all that, it's not hard to like... It's not that hard to go and be your own boss and do your own thing. And, you know, a lot of people say, you know, you see all these people online, the property people online and YouTube on the reels and shorts and stuff like that. And they like, they make it sound so easy. And I used to think that. I was like, yeah, but it's all right for you because you're doing it. Yeah, but if you read up about this person, that's how they started. everybody thinks it's a scam but in reality all they're doing is giving you they're showing you what to do and they're showing you this it's showing you that these are the steps i started with 15 grand he said it didn't even involve luck and it was like some property my i've got his name they were there based in england but they um once you realize that you there's things to look for yes so there's not a scam or anything like that but once you realize what to do and it it's like a a blueprint that you can transfer to different things in business yeah it's palms Yeah.
1:44:19Think and grow rich. You interviewed the 500th most wealthy people in the world and they've kind of got the same patterns. Yep. All it is is seeing what you want, find that goal, find that vision and just work until you get it. Yep. Too many people struggle because they fail, but the failure is where the success is, that's where the goal is and it's pushing through that. That's exactly it. It's easy to be successful because nobody wants to carry through the pain or the journey or the hate or the negativity. One bit of negativity can put you back in your shell and that's where people live their whole life not really fulfilling the potential so life is a fucking beautiful thing and i always have to keep saying it because social media is making us feel as if it's in chaos sometimes i'm part of that by thinking that myself because social media kind of program me that way but you can get anything out of life it's just how much work you want to put into it how you feeling today adam mate honestly it's been an absolute pleasure being here today I apologise for the times the first time I couldn't help it was a bit of a blip and I do apologise about that but it's nice I respect one thing I've learned is I have to respect people's time and it's another self-awareness thing but time is a commodity we can't buy and honestly I appreciate it so much you come through the door earlier on I was like fucking hell James I was like a little fanboy I was like fucking hell honestly mate it's a pleasure meeting you it really is and an absolute honour to be on here.
1:45:44It's my podcast debut. If I never do another one, for me, I've done the best. But I'm happy days. I was like, fucking hell. And even from the first message, I was like... As I look at the scratch card again, I thought, nah, fuck off. But I sent the screenshot. I told him, mate, she went, fuck off. He said, anybody can buy that and make it a faster. I said, yeah, but look at it, though. I said, it's the right one. I said, look, it's the same... He went, nah. I went like that. I was going to ask when I messaged you back. What happens when the dream comes true, and everything falls apart?
