0:01All right, season two, here we go. Welcome back. I'm Michelle Toh, journalist and host of Behind the Business. And this season, we're going big, showcasing thoughtful conversations with the leaders of Airbnb, Rivian, the New York Stock Exchange, Canva, Poppy, Peloton, Samsung, and Away, plus many more. We once again got to work and hit the road in New York, LA, and San Francisco, taking you inside top consumer brands, category creators, and emerging disruptors. For those who don't know me, I'm a long-time business journalist who's reported for CNN, Fortune, and the New York Times. After the amazing response from all of you watching and listening, we won a Webby Award and decided to keep going.

0:45Michelle Toh, the host of Behind the Business podcast. So around here, we've asked the real questions like, are we in an AI bubble? Peloton share price had fallen more than 94 % since its peak. What motivated you to take on this challenge? And get into it all. We all agreed to quit, to give up. Rubin's business model doesn't work without R2. Embarrassment is the most underexplored emotion when it comes to success. Just say yes, you'll figure it out later. Something that I learned from having to shut down a business is that it doesn't define you and that you can start again. We've also got an exciting new format called 3 Pressing Questions.

1:21all about the news and hot topics you care about. New episodes every Thursday. See you there.

🎙️About Behind the Business

Behind the Business is a Webby Award-winning, thoughtfully produced video podcast grounded in the belief that business is in fact personal. This is not a fawning interview show. We pair deep research with thorough interviews — asking the real questions and avoiding fluff, while keeping it fun! What’s the toughest day you’ve ever had at work? How do you mentally prep for a big event? Or what’s a pinch-me moment you’ll never forget? In each episode, guests get into it all. Each episode also connects guests with young founders who send in a question. New episodes Thursdays.
