In short

Two longtime friends/collaborators, Jocelyn Delgado and Gianna Farazi, discuss becoming a DJ duo in a male-dominated scene, balancing entrepreneurship (DJing, skincare/false lashes, real estate), and their advice for women entering similar industries.

Guest backgrounds

Friends for 12 years; met through child modeling/castings. Both started DJing around late 2019 (pre-COVID), learning from other DJs and practicing at house parties. They co-own “JD and GF.” Gianna graduated recently; she also models and runs skincare/false eyelash brands. Jocelyn is single and also has real estate experience (interned in high school; got her license right out of high school).

Key claims

They “fake it till you make it” early, but insist you must perfect your craft to avoid underestimation. Their working bestie bond and mutual support drive their success.

Notable examples

First real gig at Flynn’s; they’ve returned every summer since. A memorable mishap at Meatball Place: jumping caused their laptop to fall, unplugging and stopping music. They’ve been underestimated when booking (“where are the guys?”), but often receive compliments after sets. They mix Latin/house/pop with rap to cover the whole crowd.

0:03Gianna:I feel like we want to DJ, but we also want to explore our individual adventures that we both have. And we're going to continue to support each other through whatever. Maybe we get a new idea along the line and a new venture comes up for us. Yeah. You're going to do something. Be good at what you do. Do it and get really good at it so you know what you're doing. and you don't ever like have somebody underestimating you and be right.

0:36Jocelyn:Welcome back to the BILF pod where authenticity trumps authority. Now, I don't know about y 'all, but I love a good DJ, but I love it even more when it's two hot ladies. Welcome. We have Jocelyn Delgado and Gianna Farazi here. Both of these ladies, they are so cute. You are so freaking cute. You are stunning. I can't with you two. I really can't. So you know what a bilf is, right? Boss I'd like to follow. Yes. She's like, yeah, that. That. That. Yeah. And you guys, you can be Dilfs.

1:09Gianna:Oh, my God. We should. I'd like to follow. I love that.

1:12Jocelyn:That can be your new name. Yeah. Absolutely.

1:15Gianna:Yeah. Dilfs.

1:16Jocelyn:So going back now, like I said, we already caught up, just so you know. So I already kind of know the background. You guys have been friends for 12 years, started your friendship. You know, you guys never fought, which is great. Never had to fight nothing. But then you both, I guess, discover that you have this passion for DJing. So where did that come from? Were you at, like, a cool party and you're like, oh, this shit's cool? Or, like, how'd it go?

1:39Gianna:Yeah, so we started going to events together. We started off as friends, besties. We were besties from the moment we met each other, like, to be honest. And from these events, we started becoming friends with a lot of other DJs. DJs and we just got really inspired by them and wanted to like learn on our own which we did and then we just started having more fun with it and going to like some people's houses parties and DJing and we just turned it into like a serious thing we got better and better yeah at first you

2:09Jocelyn:know it was a little rough but was it men DJs or like you saw girls DJing you're like oh this is

2:14Gianna:mostly men mostly men to be honest with you that's crazy yeah like oh man but I like I was I was

2:21Jocelyn:telling you this like I think it's so sexy to see a girl with the headphones and she's on you know she's like on the ones and twos and she's I think that is so badass I love seeing that and anytime you know when I heard that you wanted to come on the bill so I'm like this is perfect showcasing two bad bad bad bad girls that are DJs and just crushing life right now yeah we love it I feel

2:44Gianna:like we've just we've been doing great at it yeah like going from that friendship to going into like Like a working bestie relationship has been so smooth and I wouldn't want it with anybody else as well. Yeah.

2:57Jocelyn:And now you guys co-own a company, right? It's JD and GF. Yes. That's our company. So you're doing your DJing thing. But you also, I know you go to school. Do you go to school as well?

3:08Gianna:I don't. I graduated this last year. Oh, look at you. Or a year ago actually now. Yeah.

3:14Jocelyn:Really old. So you're, I mean, you're balancing DJing. Like you're going to school. How are you able to balance this?

3:22Gianna:Energy drinks for me. Honestly, I like being busy. I like the go, go, go. I like being all over the place. So having a packed schedule is fun for me.

3:34Jocelyn:Right? I feel like you get so much more accomplished when you have things to do from the minute you wake up until the minute you go to sleep. And you're so much more productive. When I have nothing going on, which is rare, but then I just feel like it's so stagnant. I can't do it.

3:48Gianna:I can't sit still. Like, that's something, like, I've never been able to sit still. My mom, like, even tells me. You need to relax. Like, you're stressing out. But I can't. I'm always on the go. And, again, energy drinks are my best friend. I don't know if I'd love that, but I'd love that.

4:02Jocelyn:You're always on the go. I'd love that. I'd love that. I'd love that. So, Gianna, you are modeling, right? So, was that, like, your career path at first?

4:09Gianna:Yeah, that's how we met. We both were child models. And we were going to a lot of the same castings. That's why you're so freaking cute. Because we looked a lot alike.

4:17Jocelyn:I swear like at the beginning I was like you guys kind of look alike yeah we get that a lot and

4:23Gianna:sometimes you know I lie and I'm like yeah we're sisters like we could definitely be sisters

4:28Jocelyn:yeah so you guys were doing castings and whatnot together yeah so that's how we first met each

4:33Gianna:other our moms became good friends very good friends and then our relationship came after

4:38Jocelyn:yeah absolutely and then you just love djing together yeah it's just like a whole core together No, yeah. Okay, so let's talk a little bit about the DJing because I'm very interested in this. Yeah. So you decide at what age that you're both really interested in this.

4:52Gianna:We started, what, five years ago now? Yeah, so I think we were, what, seven? Or maybe six years ago now. 2019. The end of 2019 is when we first started. Right around COVID time, like right before on the brink of it. And then we started just learning, trying to build up more courage and just ability of it. So where'd you book your first gig? What was our first gig? It was like a house party. It was Flynn's, right? Oh, like our first real gig? That was our first real gig, yeah. Oh, yeah. Flynn's was our first real gig, but we did like some house parties. Was it good? Like, did you go and like...

5:23Gianna:It was great. Oh, we loved Flynn's. Yeah, like, we've been to Flynn's every summer since then. Since then, we've been there consistently every single summer. This is our like fifth summer coming up that we'll be there. It was great. A great turnout. Like, everyone loved us. We loved everyone. It was great.

5:38Jocelyn:They must have loved you. All the little boys were like, oh my God. And like, how cool is that? You're both... It's just so, I love it. I love the vibe. It's so much fun. Now, I heard you launched skincare. Was it you? Yeah. That launched it. Okay, so you launched a skin. Let's talk a little bit about that. Yeah. So where are you finding time to do all of this? I know you talked about a packed schedule, but DJing, going to school, modeling, now skincare.

5:59Gianna:I've lived like 12 lives. But yeah, I started a skincare company and a false eyelash company. And that was a joy for me. I loved it so much. More recently, since I was going to school, I didn't put as much focus into the company. I was focusing on my schooling. But now that I'm graduated, I would love to give more time to that. It was so much fun creating new products. And I love skincare. Skin is such a big... That's why your skin looks flawless. Thank you.

6:27Jocelyn:But, yeah. You both are really entrepreneurs because I know that you dip and dab in real estate. Or maybe not dip and dab, but I know you do real estate as well. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So where did that come from?

6:37Gianna:When I was in high school, I interned actually at a real estate office. I just really wanted to see what it was about. I mean, at that point, I kind of had people I knew that was also in real estate. And I just decided to get my license right out of high school. So I did it for a couple years. Again, now I'm in school, so I kind of dibble-dabble down. But I'm graduating soon, so I'm getting back into it for sure.

6:58Jocelyn:Where does your entrepreneurial spirit come from? Because both of you are like that and so young.

7:03Gianna:We might just motivate each other, to be honest. like I know she started with her business I wanted to get into like my own thing and then we just started doing something together yeah and we always support each other we're each other's number one fans so we always push each other to do the best that we can I love it two women

7:19Jocelyn:uplifting each other not pushing each other down and your friends are your mirrors so sticking around like you want somebody to keep pushing you right you know you want exactly you want more in life and why not I mean you're young now and you're the way that your mind is and the boat the the way that you both are thinking is incredible. Because I'm sure, what are your friends doing? They're not entrepreneurial, I'm sure.

7:39Gianna:Well, I do have some friends that are really, like, they're really passionate. I have a lot of friends in aesthetics, so they have their own, like, waxing businesses, facials. Oh, so you're doing now with a whole bunch of entrepreneurs.

7:50Jocelyn:I should say my friends were not. Maybe I should rephrase it. My friends were not very entrepreneurial. So it's just funny, like, not funny, but it's amazing to see two young women really pursuing entrepreneurship and really doing it, not just talking about it, but being about it.

8:04Gianna:Right. I think that's the biggest thing, like actually doing it. A lot of people talk about it and say they want to do it, but we really stuck to it and I feel like motivated each other to really stick to things and keep it going and pull through all the way.

8:17Jocelyn:What do your parents think about your entrepreneurial spirits and your DJing?

8:21Gianna:They love it. Do you? Yeah. They come a lot. Do they? I'm sure. Moms for sure. They want to have their day out, you know. It's such a good excuse.

8:30Jocelyn:like honey I'll be right back I'm gonna go see exactly I'm just gonna go see Gianna DJ today I love that that's so much fun I cannot so um so take me back to your first time that you

8:41Gianna:DJed were you like nervous or definitely nervous it was I feel like a fake it till you make it moment like you just had to have the confidence and dance and just be looking like we're having fun and everyone else will have fun too what's your favorite because you were telling me that

8:57Jocelyn:Your genre is more like Latin beat, like Latin. So how do you guys combine it together?

9:01Gianna:Yeah, she likes more like Latin music. I like rap. Like I'm a mix of everything, but she really likes like house and like pop music. House, more pop. Yeah, like we balance each other out. Whatever I'm not the biggest fan in, she's a big fan in. So we can cover all bases. Like the yin, zi, or yang. Yeah. So it just works out. We try to please everybody. Yeah. The whole crowd.

9:21Jocelyn:Who's your favorite artist? I don't know. How about DJ? is there any DJ that you really look up to?

9:29Gianna:I've been loving Sarah Laundrie recently. She's a really popular like techno EDM artist. I love her. She's so hot and she just like kills it at every festival. I love it. I love it. I don't know. I can't think of anyone right now. You like a lot of like Dom Dalla, like John Summit. How about Pauly D? Is that not her? I love her. No, I love Pauly. She does not love DJ Pauly D.

9:51Jocelyn:I love him. No, his remixes are fire. Fire. You know who I, you know who was really a great you're gonna laugh I um I went to a Snoop Dogg concert so I love Snoop Dogg this is like my all-time favorite rapper of all time so I went to his concert and there he was DJing he went yeah he DJed everything from like Biggie to like Eminem you name it he was I'm sure he was good yeah incredible oh yeah it was one of the most incredible it was a private concert it was one of the most incredible concerts I'd ever seen that's insane it's crazy insane so where are you both aspiring to go like what would be your like

10:26Gianna:biggest dream dj gig oh my god you know i would love to go to ibiza oh can i go when you go absolutely i want to go yeah i'm coming i'm coming i'm your biggest fan you like the creepy mom but whatever no absolutely i mean i i would just love to do some club like more clubs in miami yeah 11 space like have you been sick yes i've been i know a guy that got lost

10:51Jocelyn:in space once i'm not joking he really did he got lost that's an insane it took a while for him to come back it took a while for him to come back but he really did get lost and i can't i'll tell you about it off air but yeah i do know a guy yeah i used to have a funny enough in space years ago my ex-husband and i we had oxygen bars in space in club space like oxygen do you know an oxygen bar is like you know where you put it in your like it's like a it was a big thing like it was a fatty thing years ago and we had like oxygen bars there wow that club is insane yeah 11 I love insane I've never been you've never been no I mean if you've gone to 11 you've made it you have to go there and then Vegas how about some Vegas pool parties oh yeah we've never been to Vegas though I've never been just to um Atlantic City just Atlantic City it's like a mini it's like a rev up yeah I feel like you need a rev up before you both go to Vegas yeah right no neither neither either oh my and then ibiza off to ibiza right after another right after that i love it so okay so let's talk a little bit about like ultimately so do you is that really what you want to do ultimately is just be djs or you want to be able to like intertwine real estate or entrepreneurship

12:03Gianna:like how does that look i feel like we want to we want to dj but we also want to explore our individual like adventures that we both have and we're going to continue to just support each other through whatever maybe we get a new idea along the line and a new venture comes up for us but yeah I think we've just always been great together and you know as time goes by I will always have her in my life especially with DJing like that's my way of like always staying close to each other because we do live so far from each other. You have to hang out with me because we have a DJ this is what we have to do.

12:36Jocelyn:I love it like it's like an unspoken bond like you have to like you're We're not going anywhere, bitch. No. We were friends forever. Locked in. What's the most, like, think back, like, on a few of your experiences. Anything embarrassing? What's the most embarrassing?

12:51Gianna:I would have to say one time we were at Meatball Place, and I specifically remember the Waka Flocka song coming on, and we were jumping so hard on, like, the stage behind the booth. And the way it was set up, our laptop was, like, on top of the CD. There wasn't, like, a laptop stand and the equipment was kind of all over the place. So we just had our laptop kind of balancing. Yeah. But then we got a little crazy jumping. But not even, like, the entire place started shaking that our computer fell off the entire deck. And it unplugged and the music stopped and it was... So we were just like, oh, hold on.

13:30Gianna:Yeah. No, we plugged it in. Plugged it in.

13:32Jocelyn:So what do people think, like, when they book you, you walk in and you're like, like, you're like, hi, I'm here for, like, I don't know how you do it. You walk in and you're like, I'm the DJ.

13:41Gianna:Are they like, where are they? Yeah.

13:44Jocelyn:Where are the guys that are like, where are the guys?

13:47Gianna:There's definitely been a couple of times where we're like, hi, where are the DJs? And they're like, who? Or if I have my boyfriend with me, they look to him. I'm like, no, me. Hello. Hello. It's me. Me down here.

13:58Jocelyn:That's so funny. I can just see their jaws dropping. Like you walk in, there's both of you, these two beautiful girls. And they're like, so where are the djs are you their girlfriends and helping and you're like no we're actually yeah are they like a little like setback and then they don't think you know what you're doing i mean sometimes yeah

14:14Gianna:there's definitely more girl djs now than there ever was so some places like know what they're getting into but some people underestimate us yeah absolutely has anybody ever said anything

14:25Jocelyn:like you've been there and like somebody said like a slick comment or anything like that they're

14:28Gianna:like oh you're actually really good yeah we get that a lot actually oh actually yeah at the end And they'll be like, wow, like, oh, my gosh.

14:36Jocelyn:Like, thanks.

14:37Gianna:You're cool, too, bro. So what would you tell to, like, what would you say to a female that is in a place where they might embark, like, in a male-dominated industry, right?

14:49Jocelyn:And having that courage, how would you encourage a young woman? What would you say?

14:53Gianna:I feel like I would just say if you're going to do something, like, be good at what you do.

14:58Jocelyn:Don't embarrass. Yeah.

15:00Gianna:Like, do it and get really good at it so you know what you're doing. And you don't ever, like, have somebody underestimating you and be right. You know? Like, that's how I always think.

15:11Jocelyn:I think that's sound advice. Like, if you're going to embark and step into this space that's male-dominated or whatever-dominated, you can't go in there doing it half-assed. Like, you better perfect your craft. You can't. You can't fuck this up. Like, you have one shot at making a first impression. Yeah, absolutely.

15:27Gianna:Especially like even just DJing as a whole, like you have one set and that's your showing to if they're going to even like book you again. Like you have no idea if they, if they didn't like you, they didn't like you. They're not going to book you again. Right. You have to put your rest foot forward. Yeah, absolutely.

15:43Jocelyn:I think that's great. I love the advice that both of you brains, beauty, DJs, like, is there anything you both don't do?

15:49Gianna:Oh my gosh. I don't know. I don't like to fish. So what is it?

15:54Jocelyn:I know, I know. I'm just going to tell you. I'll make you feel really good about yourself. So Gianna, you have a boyfriend, right? I do. So how does that work? Like, is it a little intimidating for your boyfriend or?

16:06Gianna:I mean, I'm sure at first when we first started dating, it was a little intimidating, but he supports both of us and he's always at our gigs being our little security guard too and just being there to support us and help us with whatever we need.

16:19Jocelyn:What about you, Jocelyn? Do you have a boyfriend?

16:20Gianna:No, I'm single.

16:22Jocelyn:There you have it. Happily single though. so what's that so what is that like you're you know are there a lot of guys constantly trying

16:29Gianna:to hit on you I mean creeping on you dming you we get a lot of creepy dms yeah oh yeah but like there's times where like she'll get hit on and like she's so nice like she just like she's kind of like looking away whatever and I'll be like listen I'm like listen like to the guy I'll be like listen like you're very nice but you need to relax like you can calm down I love it or just

16:49Jocelyn:embarrass them on the mic be like we have a creeper over here on the left side of the stage Can you please remove the creeper? No, yeah.

16:55Gianna:A lot of the times, though, like, people make me laugh. Like, the guys would, like, be funny. Some guys are funny. Like, yeah. And I'll just point them in her direction.

17:01Jocelyn:You're like, oh. And I'm like, why did you laugh? I'm like, not me. So what does that look like for you, Jocelyn? When you tell them, you're like, yeah, hey, you know, I am, I'm a DJ. What do they say?

17:10Gianna:Some guys, I mean, I've never gotten, like, a bad. I think they'd be like, damn. Yeah, I've always gotten, like, pretty good things. Like, nothing ever bad. I think some people might be a little intimidated at the same time. but what can I say? It is what it is. It is what it is.

17:26Jocelyn:So is there going to be like, you think you're going to release any like album? Are you working with anybody?

17:31Gianna:I would love to. Yeah, sometime in the future. We would love to create our own music. Why not?

17:38Jocelyn:That can be your next business.

17:40Gianna:It should. It should be. No, absolutely. We definitely want to like get it more into that. Yeah. I've got to find the time, girl.

17:47Jocelyn:Is there any artists that you really want to like work with? Anybody that you'd like to open up for?

17:53Gianna:I mean there's probably I could say like Dam Dalla Dam Dalla would be sick John Summit, Sarah Laundrie A couple

18:01Jocelyn:Is there any lady in the industry that really inspires Like a lady singer Because I know you told me a lady DJ What about a singer? Songwriter

18:10Gianna:Who do I like? I know you like a lot of Tate McRae

18:14Jocelyn:I do, I love Tate McRae My daughter does too, loves And she found out she was here for something So she was like, can we go? I was like, Lily, I'm not going to go stop. We went to the Jingle Bell and she was here and that's all we went for is to see Tate McRae.

18:29Gianna:I'm going to see her, I think, over the summer or something with my brother. Yeah, he loves her too. So it's one of the few people we both align on. That's exciting.

18:39Jocelyn:How about any festivals? Do you both like festivals?

18:41Gianna:Oh, yeah, totally.

18:43Jocelyn:What's your favorite festival?

18:44Gianna:Probably Rolling Loud. We've never gone, but I keep like, we were in Miami during Rolling Loud, but we were working at a different part. Like we were in Fort Lauderdale, I think. Yeah, we were just busy working and we weren't able to go, but we were getting asked to go. So I've been really just like wanting to like fully dive in. Or like EDC would be fun too. Ooh, EDC. EDC.

19:06Jocelyn:EDC where though? Because it's everywhere. Anywhere. You can sign me up. So if you can create your perfect future, each one of you answer the question separate, what would that look like and what would it entail? Do you want to answer first?

19:22Gianna:Yeah. I mean, you know, I'm single now. I hope to be married one day, but I would love to just be successful in my own as an individual. I work hard. I've been working hard. So I think it's so important to me to be successful in every aspect that I've been working in, especially with you. I don't know. I'm very like live day by day and see how it goes. But all I want is just to be happy and, like, be happy in what I did and be happy with how I spent my 20s, like, how I went about it. I love it.

19:57Jocelyn:And you're just doing it.

19:59Gianna:I'm just doing it. I love it. I love it. How about you, Deanna? I like dream future. I mean, a dream world, we would live closer together. Oh, yeah. Neighbors. But she's in Jersey. I'm in New York. So it's a little different. But I don't know. yeah just keep working like on what I'm doing like she said and hopefully like maybe get married to

20:20Jocelyn:my boyfriend soon when he gives me a ring I love it all right somebody wants to find you so you can give me like your individual together whatever you want somebody's looking to find you how would

20:33Gianna:they get a hold of you yeah we both have individual instagrams just our names mine's Gianna Ferrezi and hers is Jocelyn Delgado and then we also have a joint Instagram that's JD and GF that we post all our DJ things on which we need to get better at posting on that account. We're mainly on our individuals and then do like flyers like upcoming like club flyers and stuff on there yeah.

20:57Jocelyn:Fun and then what's next? Any big gifts? What's next?

21:01Gianna:We have Flynn's coming up this summer and uh just yeah same thing like we do a lot of private parties too like in the city long island so that's a no so maybe if i like throw a private party that would be all see i do i work with all

Show up. Work hard. Stay in line.

But what happens when your dream doesn’t fit the mold?
When the path you’re passionate about is dominated by voices telling you it’s “not for you”?

In this episode of BILF Pod, Jocelyn & Gianna open up about their journey as young women breaking into the DJ scene starting at 17, learning from mentors, and leaning on each other as best friends. They share the moments that tested them, the lessons that shaped them, and the inspiration they found in every connection along the way.

We talk about friendship as fuel, ambition in a male-dominated industry, and the grind behind every first gig, every beat learned, and every stage conquered. They reveal how believing in yourself and learning from others turned obstacles into opportunities.

This conversation explores the quiet work no one applauds: building your skill when no one notices, showing up when it’s easier to quit, and finding your voice when the world doubts you. It’s about courage over comfort, persistence over perfection, and friendship over competition.

If you’ve ever started something everyone said you couldn’t, doubted your timing, or leaned on someone to push you forward, this episode will resonate deeply.

Because success isn’t just about the stage.
It’s about the journey that gets you there.
