In short
The episode argues the biggest money mistake in your 30s is delaying investing instead of starting early with a disciplined, systematic plan (e.g., dollar-cost averaging into broad index funds like QQQ) so compounding can build wealth by retirement. It claims starting earlier can yield multi-millions by 40–50 and cites hypothetical growth to about $18M by 65 from consistent monthly investing plus periodic lump sums. A second theme is sacrificing some short-term “extras” to set up long-term financial freedom, warning that most people at 50 don’t have $2M.
Guests
Rashad and Ernest (co-hosts). They also discuss tech stock picks: Apple, Microsoft, Nvidia, QQQ, Google, Eli Lilly, plus alternatives like Broadcom, TSMC, Dell, AMD, and Micron; they criticize “foundation trading” and emphasize buying quality to “marry and hold.”
Notable examples
QQQ, “agentic AI” and OpenAI’s Astra 6 (100 Verirubin chips), and Broadcom’s custom ASIC/XPU/TPU angle.

3:01The sale's right there. Don't miss it. This holiday, give shoppers a flexible way to pay with PayPal Pay Later and turn them into regulars. PayPal Open, built for all business. Get started at paypalopen.com. It's a fact. So let's get into the next thing. is the biggest money mistake that you can make in your 30s. And I'll say the biggest money mistake that people can make in their 30s is not investing early enough with a systematic plan. Dollar cost average, put money into the stock market early as possible. Compounding interest is something that has been described as wonder of the world from Warren Buffett.
3:41I think he said that actually. So just to kind of give you some perspective on it, QQQ, if you, you know, let's say you invested let's say a thousand dollars a month and that might sound like a lot but let's say you do 250 dollars into your 401k you do 750 dollars into your brokerage account you got to find a way to put money away um and then let's say you know you take some money from your tax return every year let's say that you put an additional 5 000 lump sum 2 500 dollars every six months into the market so at age 65 you have 18 million dollars and then people be like well i don't want to wait to age 65 well you know you become a two two million at age 50 um you have 400 000 at age 40 um and like i said that's no trading that's no extracurricular that's no individual stocks, that's just going on QQQ, what QQQ has done historically.
4:44So, I mean, just that alone, $18 million is a lot of money. And at$68 million is a lot of money. And at$52 million is like, so and of course, the more money you put in, the other things that you have going on, you know, you trade and you do individual stocks, you add to it, you know, whatever you gotta do, but
5:09earlier that you start, the quicker you will become financially free. And that's the biggest mistake is that people kick the can down the road. They wait, they stop. And the biggest thing you hear is to say, I don't want to wait till I'm 50 to have$2 million. But ask how many people are 50 that has$2 million. dollars yes and if that's the case put more money in now yeah because if you take a survey the vast majority of people that's 50 don't have two million dollars so these things just sound good to say well i'm gonna wait i'm gonna wait yeah well you're gonna what's gonna happen you're not gonna do it and you're gonna turn 50 and you're not gonna have anything and you wish that you would have done it when you were 30.
6:00yeah so So that's my, that's the biggest mistake I think people make is that they don't start investing early, often, and have a strategy of how much money they're going to invest and how much money they're going to put into it and just be disciplined and just stay with it. Yeah, I thought it was the biggest mistake we made in our 30s. But I agree. I think that's the biggest mistake in 20s, 30s, 40s. Yeah, not doing it. I think the biggest mistake that I made in my 30s, and we parted this together, was we were creating an app. We've told the story plenty of times, but, you know, not understanding exactly the technological components that were needed to create the app, not knowing what it is to deal with foreign engineers that didn't live here domestically, trying to take, you know, a more economical approach to building something out, which, you know, we thought, oh, we'll pay less, but we'll get the same product.
6:58and that ended up costing us some money. But it was a valuable learning lesson. What it taught me was, if I'm gonna put money into something, I better understand it. But when I'm saying, hey, you should understand the companies that you're investing in, this is why I'm super diligent with the companies that I'm talking about because I know what happens if I'm not. We've lost money doing that. So yeah, there's a lesson to be taught there. And now I'm reaping the benefits of that lesson. Like if you ask me about a company, I'm gonna tell you, if I know it, I'm gonna give you everything I know. If I don't know it, now it gives me an opportunity to go learn and do a case study and give it back.
7:32Either way, I'm going to sharpen my tool belt because now either I know this company, here's everything I know, or yes, that's a great company. Let me do some more research and give you more information on it.
7:44To echo what you said, Rashad, you kind of took my point, but I love that we're all on the same page. The biggest mistake that people make in their 30s is thinking that you have more time and not realizing that your energy, you're probably as a man going to be at your peak in your 30s and sacrifice your 30s to set yourself up for freedom later. A lot of people called me reclusive and stubborn and all these terms, but I will say by the time I hit 34, 35, I was so happy that I made those sacrifices and I missed out on some things that I wanted to do short term for the life I wanted to live long term let alone by the time I got to 40 I was like whoa out of here so um sacrifice now I'm not saying sacrifice time with your family but a lot of the extracurricular and I know some of y 'all gonna be like well you only get one life the other part of that life is very long everyone says YOLO you only get one life you only get a limited amount of time and then you meet a lot of people who are in their 50s and 60s with deep regrets or 70s with deep regrets for not planning for the future.
8:59And the inflation data keeps changing. I posted this over the weekend. Four million is a new one million. Like even what the goal was, as soon as we got involved in it and found ways to become more economically viable, they move what. Quick one before you jump back in. You're listening for ways to help teams move faster, make sharper decisions and turn scattered context into work they can use. ChatGPT for Business can help. You can't be mad at that. Okay, hit the like button. And share. Let's go into the best tech stocks to buy right now. I don't think they've changed. This is the thing I love about long-term investing. Quality remains quality. Non-quality remains quality. And once again, put in chat, you only need four. I know it's fun because I'm seeing this online too. It's a lot because there was some pushback about the Robert Kiyosaki debt thing.
14:11but i'm seeing a lot of people love to talk about investing like it's sports center and it's a debate show and the only debate is what to buy and that's relatively easy uh apple microsoft nvidia q's vo vti google eli lily if we took the ai space that there's like layers that you can go through there but the quality company and i want to be very clear the companies to buy today were the same great companies to buy two years ago there will be the same great companies to buy six years from now even in the IPO space there with the exception of maybe the big or the elite eight there isn't many IPOs on the horizon that like you need to just put every dollar into so um the ones that I mentioned I loved I like what we cover in uh this or that today but you only need four pick your four that you're going to marry and hold on to for a long period of time yeah um i'll i'll take the the mag seven or the elite eight out of it um just because people like i mean they should have that as a foundation micron wouldn't count in that mag seven so obviously i mean that's the tech company and i still again think it's undervalued at the price point that it's at now that shouldn't come as a surprise that micron would be there but i'll to Do you think most people really have the foundation or is a foundation trader?
15:38Their foundation is whatever is going to give them the most growth right now. And that's a mistake. I know some of you. Can we talk about that? I know some of you feel like, well, I missed out, so I got to make it up with trading gains. Okay, I get that. I'm a trader. But you have the best companies on earth competing, and even with the thing, the thing that the Leopold situation revealed, they'll disrupt a whole flow of momentum going into some companies to throw even retail traders off um so i would be remiss if i didn't bring that up i think too many people are gambling through trading and i don't even think they have that max 7 foundation they don't know you know not only are they competing against each other it's an interesting term where they've kind of consolidated right if you if you look at what microsoft's done you could just take this here where it's come from.
16:30You're seeing Meta starting to trend up a little bit over the past week or so. You've watched what Google's done. Amazon has really just traded sideways. So they've all kind of consolidated, right? If you follow from a technical standpoint after the consolidation, you can see if there's an uptrend on the way. So those are great. I think I'm going to still say Broadcom. I think Broadcom is such an interesting story. Even after they reported last week, and I was saying on Market Mondays, Octane, you got to deliver, you got to deliver. And we watched him speak during the earnings report and the stock kind of pulled down a little bit.
17:05I just think that the custom ASIC space is still something people don't fully understand or grasp. And some people understand the video and the role that it's played in terms of GPUs. And that's for general purposes. The advantage that a company like Broadcom has is that they can make something custom for specific needs. And I think more companies, as we go on into agentic AI, and I just want to stop to give credit to OpenAI for what they just put out with Astra 6, because that was absolutely ridiculous, and I think shout out to Brandon, you just sent me over, they took 100 Verirubin chips to create that, so I mean that tells you the amount of compute it takes to do that, but more companies I think in the future are going to say, hey, I want my XPU or my TPU to do this specifically.
17:56I don't want it just for general purpose. It makes it direct. And Broadcom is going to be at the forefront. I know they kind of had their projections in $115 billion. I mean, we're talking about ridiculous numbers for a company that's never done that before. I think they underestimated it because I think the future growth is going to be pretty exponential. I would put Broadcom in there and I still, TSM for sure has been my favorite company for years now. They would be in there. Dell, which reported last week in terms of its partnerships, American company, the role it plays inside of those racks, and then I'll put AMD.
18:31Those are not in the Mac 7, because to me, in terms of tech, they all have a distinct purpose, and they're going to be leaders in that purpose, whether it's from GPU to CPU for AMD. Even though that their GPU market is actually increasing, they all play a distinct role. In Taiwan, I mean, we've covered so many times. Rashad, what about you? Well, yeah, I mean, you got to go with the staples. Taiwan Semiconductor, NVIDIA, Micron, QQQ, Apple, Google, Microsoft. I mean, the story doesn't change when you're talking about the best tech stocks. You got to go with the people that's on the leaderboard.
19:10Yeah. Yeah. And they grow up too. The leaderboard is growing. You're looking at more trading dollar companies than we've ever seen before.
