Key Takeaways

Introduction

  • Daniel Packard introduces himself as an engineer who has developed a technology to liberate individuals from anxiety, self-doubt, and other psychological barriers.
  • The episode discusses how traditional self-help often fails to provide lasting solutions, focusing instead on managing symptoms.

Value Bombs

  1. Results vs. Understanding: True transformation comes from actions and results, not merely understanding concepts.
  2. Underlying Issues: Anxiety, procrastination, and self-doubt are symptoms of a malfunctioning nervous system, not just mind problems.
  3. Unlocking Potential: When fear is addressed and reduced, it quickly unlocks one's potential for achievement and fulfillment.

Personal Journey

  • Daniel shares his personal struggles with anxiety, procrastination, and self-doubt, despite years of self-help efforts.
  • He experienced a pivotal moment on a beach in Mexico, prompting him to seek a real solution rather than temporary relief.

Development of the Solution

  • After extensive research (8 years and over a million dollars), Daniel’s company created an innovative approach to address emotional malfunctions.
  • The solution aims for quick and permanent relief from anxiety and self-doubt, which often hinder personal and professional success.

The Cycle of Struggle

  • The self-help industry is critiqued for perpetuating a cycle where individuals remain in a state of struggle without achieving real results.
  • Most existing solutions focus on mental aspects without addressing the physical (nervous system) causes of these issues.

---

Theoretical Framework

Mind vs. Body

  • Traditional approaches often treat anxiety and fear as mind-related issues; however, Daniel argues they are fundamentally body-related, originating in the nervous system.

The Role of the Nervous System

  • Health of the nervous system is crucial for managing emotions.
  • A malfunctioning nervous system can cause persistent fear and anxiety, leading to debilitating symptoms.

Nutritional Needs of the Nervous System

  • Emotional nutrients are required for the nervous system to function optimally.
  • One example of a nutrient is *listening*; the nervous system needs to be acknowledged and heard to maintain its health.

---

Practical Strategies

The Struggle Switch Turn-Off Technique

  • Daniel offers listeners a free technique to help them practice emotional self-care and regain control over their anxiety and self-doubt.
  • Encourages listeners to try the technique to experience immediate results for themselves.

Daniel, say what's up to Fire Nation and share something that you believe about becoming successful that most people disagree with. Ooh. Well, hello, Fire Nation. Can I call them Fire Nation? Absolutely. I've known about your podcast for a while and when I was telling people I was going to be on it, and every time I've said Entrepreneur's on Fire, I think of the Alicia Keys song, you know, this girl is on fire. You know that song? Very well. So yeah, I don't know. Maybe this is old to you, but I've been walking around the house today just going, entrepreneurs on fire.

2:37And I know your audience is thinking, my God, with a voice like that, what's he even doing on a business podcast? You will see. What was the question? Share something that you believe about becoming successful that most people disagree with. well we're going to get into this uh but fear and anxiety don't help um as i'll share in a bit the power of of what i want to share with your audience is to lower the fear and lower the anxiety and i've shared this with business audiences and they'll say no i work best under pressure and when i'm anxious and when i'm scared doesn't that motivate and i say yeah that's great short term but long term it's it's very limiting so uh that's what i would say is that fear and stress and pressure they're great short term um but long term they keep you from fulfillment and sustainability and adaptability and joy that's my hot take what do you think i love it in fire nation you can tell that we're going to be talking today about a groundbreaking discovery that unlocks adaptability and fulfillment from the mechanical engineer who built it and that is, of course, our guest today, Daniel Packard.

3:49And I want to talk about the turning point because your journey, Daniel, from deep personal pain to complete freedom. I mean, it's inspired countless people. So take us back, take us back to that pivotal moment and share how it led to you reinventing the self-help industry. Man, when you say it like that, part of me thought, yeah, that is what happened. Well, what I'm going to be sharing with your audience, which you alluded to, I'm going to be sharing something a little unusual, which is, yeah, that I was struggling with anxiety and self-doubt and procrastination. And I had, I tried everything, the therapy retreats, the apps, the gurus, the ayahuasca.

4:29I had a, I had a, just a bookshelf of self-help books that not only filled the shelf, but sat on the shelf, or as I call shelf help. And so nothing was working. And so I started my engineering research company to engineer a permanent solution for the limitations that hold business people back. Anxiety, procrastination, self-doubt, overthinking, and we engineered a solution for that so you can be free of it. And when people hear that, you know, they like the idea of a solution, but they are understandably skeptical because fast solutions aren't usually what's offered in self-help and personal development.

5:08So I think when you understand And my story, where I come from, the idea of a solution that's not only fast but simple will make a lot more sense. And so how I ended up here was that, yeah, I was struggling with anxiety, procrastination, self-doubt, insecurity. I mean, I didn't have issues. I had effing subscriptions. And it held me back as a business owner, an entrepreneur, a leader. When you're a people pleaser, you can't set boundaries. You can't charge what you're worth. When I would procrastinate, my productivity went down, my sales went down, my business would lag. And then the anxiety, I just didn't enjoy work the way I wanted to.

5:52And I couldn't be the leader I wanted to be, the business owner. And then when I got home, I wasn't as present and joyful for the people that I cared about. and it wasn't okay. And so like your audience, you know, I go and I try to work on myself and I do a ton of personal development, self-help, the books, uh, the retreats. I was probably in a cult. I was definitely in a cult and 10 years, a hundred grand spent. And if I'm honest, John, I, it just, it was better. I could manage it better. I had insights, I had understanding, but I was still doing this stuff. And then not only is my business struggling, not only am I struggling, but then there's this shame.

6:33There's this guilt of, of why can't I be better? I know better. Why am I, why do I keep doing this? I felt trapped. I felt a bit of hopelessness. I felt, I felt angry because I'd been working on myself so much and I'm still doing this stuff. And I remember I was sitting on a beach in Mexico and I sort of look up at whoever up there pulling the strings, God, source, universe. And I just, I was pissed. I just said like, what do you want from me, dude? I didn't say dude, but you know, what do you want from me? This is a test, but what's the test? And I didn't expect an answer, but I got an answer.

7:05I'll tell you kind of what source said to me that inspired me to kind of do this work. But first, can you relate, uh, or do you think your audience can relate to this idea that you have things that hold you back and you work on it and work on it, work on it, and it's better, but it's never gone. Yes. So there I am on the beach, and I just ask, you know, God, like, what do you want from me? And I got this answer, and the answer was from something that happened to me when I was 10. When I was 10, my dad, who is a physicist, sat me down and said something to me, which was a bit intense for a 10-year-old, but he said, Daniel, you know, anybody can come up with a theory or an idea, but you don't know whose theories or ideas work.

7:45He said, the person you want to listen to, the person you want to trust is the person that gets results. He said, results matter. And this idea of results mattering stuck with me and sort of inspired me. I went to engineering school at UC Berkeley to learn to look at complex problems and how to engineer solutions that get results, things that work. That's what the world needs is results, not more theory and ideas, but results. And so there I am sitting on the beach and I realized that the personal development industry doesn't get great results. People don't get solutions quickly. And I knew that I was trained to engineer things to get results.

8:22And so I thought, why don't I started my own research company for liberation technology with the goal to see, could we use engineering approaches to reverse engineer an approach that would solve anxiety, procrastination, self doubt, people pleasing. And it took eight years. It took over a million dollars in R and D. it was not easy it was it was grueling but that's the thing about inventors and entrepreneurs we just and inventors we just go at it until we solve it and I was one of the first people to benefit I remember waking up one morning and just feeling oddly calm like a deep deep deep calm and I wasn't procrastinating and I didn't care what people thought of me and the people it just lifted and I thought it was temporary because it usually is but it didn't And one year goes by, two years goes by.

9:14And it's been 10 years and I'm just chill as a cucumber. And I just, all that stuff is just gone. And when my, when my, the people on my team saw that change, they said, we did it. We figured it out. And I said, no, no, no, no. The goal is always to get this to the world and systematize it so that anybody can do it. So we spent a number, several years to create a system such that anybody in six weeks, if you work the steps, you get the results. which is to solve, meaning the anxiety, procrastination, the self-doubt is solved. It's gone. And when it's gone, it just unlocks you to fulfill your potential, to be free of this stuff, and just to show up for the world and the people that you care about.

9:58That's my story. And Daniel, because of that, like you stumbled upon and now are focusing on the cycle of struggle. And I wanna talk about that in the industry trap because you've been very vocal about how this trillion dollar improvement industrial complex that, by the way, both you and I have experienced, it actually sets people up to fail. What do you mean by that? So as we set off to engineer what works, meaning what solves it, it illuminated what's on the market that, and we could see the way it was built, the entire approach of what's available on the market is not engineered to solve people's problems.

10:38I think it's partly because most people in this industry are teachers and coaches. They're not innovators and inventors. Usually what's available in this market is concepts, you know, mindset, cognition, the ego, looking at trauma, looking at your triggers, looking at your belief system. These are all help you have conceptual understanding and understanding is great. But there's a difference between understanding and concepts and solutions. a concept is not the same as a solution to go from concept to a solution usually you have inventors and engineers they had this problem in the 1700s that the mines would flood and kill the miners and they didn't have a solution now they knew that steam could create power they had the conceptual understanding but it wasn't until james watt who was an engineer was able to take the concept and create an engineered application that actually gets a result and that's inventors that's innovators.

11:34And most of this industry isn't that. And so most people are stuck just getting concepts and understanding, but never solutions. But people want solutions. They want results. Results matter. Results is what makes our lives better. Fire Nation, this is such a powerful concept because so many people are going to be in that cycle of struggle, are going to be in that industry trap. And they're not even going to know that. But then they're going to hear this episode. They're going to hear Daniel's voice. They're going to hear what he's talking about. You're going to have a chance to get out of this.

High level, join the revolution. Daniel, we're back and I want to talk about mind versus body. I mean, you teach that fear, doubt, and anxiety can be managed in the mind, but truly solved in the body. How does that work in practice? So I'm going to share the key discoveries that my company made that make a fast, simple solution possible that will answer those questions.

15:08And what I'm going to share with your audience, it's going to make a lot of sense. And your audience is going to hear this and think, hmm, that makes sense. But your audience is also probably going to go, yeah, it sounds good, but does it actually work? And there's a lot of stuff in this industry that sounds good but doesn't work that well. So I'm going to share the perceptual understanding. But then for people who are thinking, oh, does this actually work? At the end, I'm going to send your audience to get a free link to try one of our techniques for themselves to actually get a result and see that what I'm teaching you actually works because my dad said results matter.

15:41So if you like what I'm sharing and it makes sense but you want to know if it actually works at the end, you can see for yourself if it works. Now, what the discoveries were was that first, when we went to approach this, we said, we need to simplify this. You know, when people go to grow and change, it is not easy or simple. It is complicated. There's all these different theories, all these different coaches, all these different ways of doing it. There's no clear instructions. There's no clear timeline. It's very confusing. And as engineers, we said, if you really understand something, things are simpler.

16:12and you know newton took all of motion on planet earth and got it down to three laws because he really really understood it so uh we said we need to simplify things and i'm going to give your audience a simple understanding of what's going on but first we're going to look at what we're usually taught and it'll make sense why it doesn't work so usually we are taught and it feels like we have multiple problems. I have anxiety. I am a procrastinator. I've got self-doubt. I am insecure. It feels like we have multiple problems. And we're also told that usually these are problems of the mind, scarcity mindset, belief systems.

16:54It's my ego. It's scarcity thinking, cognitive behavioral therapy, mental health. We're taught that usually we have problems of the mind. Is that a fair simplification of what you were usually taught, John? Yes. Now, it's true that the mind messes with us, no doubt. My mind used to say horrible, scary things, and it affected me. But we looked at this and we said, well, if this is true, that it's a mind issue, then why aren't we solving this stuff? And so because we weren't part of the industry, we were outsiders, we could look at this with fresh eyes. And we realized a huge insight that everything we're being taught is wrong.

17:31And I want to share with you what is more true sort of through an exercise. So, uh, it's more experiential. So to you, John, and your audience, uh, close your eyes unless you're driving or operating heavy machinery. And I want you to just close your eyes if you can, if not, it's okay too. And I want you to see yourself as best you can doing one of the behaviors that holds you back. Uh, could be anxiety, could be self-doubt, could be procrastination, people-pleasing, perfectionism. And as best you can, just see yourself doing that behavior. And now, as best you can, try to see that that behavior underneath it, there's probably some fear there.

18:28If you have anxiety, you probably just have a lot of fear. If you're a procrastinator, maybe there's a fear of starting and finishing things. If you're a perfectionist, maybe you have a fear of making a mistake. If you're a people pleaser, maybe you have a fear that people won't like you so you put them first and yourself last. If you have self-doubt, maybe you have this fear that people won't like you or approve of you. So just as best you can, see the behavior that's holding you back and try to see that there's some fear there. And if you can, now notice where is that fear? Where's the location of it?

19:13Usually, you'll feel it in your chest, your heart, your throat, your stomach, your gut. So, we're told fear is a problem to mind, but listen to those words, throat, chest, Heart, stomach, gut. Are those mind words or are those body words? Body. They're body words. And that's because what the research showed is that fear actually originates in the body. Then we feel fear and it gives rise to the symptoms of fear. The anxiety, the self-doubt, procrastination, etc. So open your eyes if they're not already open. The reason this is an important perspective, and this is what the data showed, was we are told that we have multiple problems of the mind.

20:06But we're being sent to the symptom level. And if you're sent to the symptom level, you'll never solve it. You can only manage it. But also we're being told this is a mind issue. And in reality, the research showed and the data showed and the testing showed it's a body issue. So the reason people are doing these behaviors their entire life, we tend to think I'm broken. There's something wrong with me. Why aren't I a good spiritual personal development student? It's because the experts, while well-intentioned, sent you to the symptom level and they sent you to the mind where the real issue was the body.

20:37So you never stood a chance. You were literally sent to the wrong location. And so you couldn't solve it. So a major reason that people aren't able to solve but holds them back, it's not that we're broken. It's that this industry is kind of broken because it's sending us to the wrong place. but can you see that if you're actually sent to the root cause level and the right location, it's a lot more likely that you're going to get better results. Definitely. And what did you think or experience when I just guided you through that little exercise? I was feeling in the upper chest area.

21:12And does it make sense that the behaviors that hold a lot of business people back and leaders could just be symptoms of fear? Oh, yeah. Yeah. Any questions? Anything? No. And I will say Fire Nation, one thing, I got to spend two hours with Daniel before this interview going through this process in depth. So I'm personally very familiar with it. I really enjoyed the process. And I want to talk about reframing the struggle, but I'll let you wrap this point up here, Daniel. Yeah, I want to explain more, not only where in the body the fear is coming from, but why it's malfunctioning and creating the fear.

21:51When your audience understands that one, I think it'll create some aha moments of why they do what they do, but also it will show them that real freedom from this stuff again is possible. So once we saw that this was a body issue, not a mind issue that made everything much simpler because the mind, nobody understands the mind. We're just learning about the mind. It's like deep space. We don't, there's synaptic pathways and neurons, but we really don't understand the mind, but the body, we understand the body much more and the body is simpler and the body is mechanical you know your skeleton is mechanics and it's systems your skeleton is a system arteries are systems your ears are it's all systems and engineers love systems because we can figure out why systems are malfunctioning and how they can be repaired so we just said all right is there a system may be malfunctioning creating all the fear and once we asked the question the answer was again, really super simple.

22:49Um, but you can, your, your own common sense will tell you what it is. Okay. So take out the word fear and just swap in the word nervous. Okay. And I'm asking you, John, and your audience, if you had to guess, if you had to guess what system in the body do you think is most likely malfunctioning and making everybody nervous? What do you think? What do you think? What do you think? Go ahead. Hit me. Well, I'm going to hit you because listen, I know the answer because we've gone through this together because most people, Daniel, they think that anxiety and procrastination, that they're psychological issues.

23:21You think they're rooted and you believe in the nervous system. So break that down for us. It's the nervous system. Exactly. And I want to be clear. The reason I believe it is because I tried all the mind techniques for 10 years and got nowhere. You know, Freud taught mind techniques and the guy was a chain smoking cocaine addict. So results matter. When we went to the body and specifically the nervous system, because it's got the word nervous right in there. I mean, it's kind of obvious. I can't believe that the mental health industry has had decades to solve this. Anxiety is on the rise. There's a system in the body called the nervous system.

24:00And instead of going there, they call it mental health. And it's like, no, you guys, it's not mental health. It's nervous system health. So your nervous system is your body's natural threat response system. If it is healthy, you feel safe and there's no fear. But if the nervous system is malfunctioning, you feel unsafe, you feel like there's a threat, and you have this fear. And then the symptoms of fear, the anxiety, the self-doubt, and the procrastination. So what we saw and we surmised was that the nervous system was malfunctioning. And if we could find why it's malfunctioning, we could repair it such that the nervous system would come back to health and the fear would go away.

24:40And then the symptoms of fear would go away. And it took about a year and a half to not only figure out why the nervous system was malfunctioning, but also test it to see that what we theorized was true. Because, again, results matter. Do you want me to tell you why the nervous system is malfunctioning? I do. Yeah. Every system in the body is sort of guided by a most by universal principles. And we went looking for them. We said, let's try to keep this simple. Let's try to use pre-existing principles to solve this. and basically what we saw is we are given a lot of things for free that are incredible we're given a body for free which is a pretty sweet deal nobody stops and appreciates it but do you have any idea how much it would cost to do the r &d and develop and buy a body that sounds really creepy and dark but like as a thought experiment to like eyeballs alone you know how much it would cost to buy an eyeball, let alone two eyeballs, let alone two eyeballs that work together.

25:43Well, you know what actually blows me away? And this is something that keeps me rooted in how lucky we are is like, every time like I injure myself, like I cut myself or I scratch or something, I'm like, my body's going to heal. Like it's literally going to fix that. And imagine if we couldn't heal, like we would just be by the time we're like 10, let alone like 40s, 50s, 60s, we would just be disastrous. But our body literally heals. It's incredible. And when you get a body, it's not like the immune system that heals is an upsell. You just get that for free. It's incredible. However, there is one condition on when we're given these things, these alive things that make life better, whether it's a body, whether it's a planet, whether it's babies, whether it's relationships.

26:27When you're given beautiful things for free, there's sort of one condition from source and God. And what is that condition? You got to take care of it. we are given the best things in life they are free relationships love children a planet a body an immune system but we got to take care of this stuff and so we basically saw that we are taught to take care of lots of systems in our body we're taught to eat right we're taught to sleep right We're taught to take certain vitamins, exercise, but we thought, hmm, we were never taught the daily hygiene of how to take care of the nervous system. And what we saw was essentially the nervous system, just like lots of systems in the body, has basic nutrients that it needs to run properly.

27:17Now, I'm not talking about nutrients such as food or vitamins, but emotional nutrients because it's an emotional system. The nervous system has basic nutrients that it needs to run properly. But let me ask you to John and your audience, did anybody ever sit you down at any point in your life and say, hey, these are the basic nutrients and daily hygiene that you need to give your nervous system or it's going to malfunction? Did anybody ever teach you that? Not once. Not once. Okay. So if you don't know how to take care of a system in the body, you can't get it proper nutrition. Eventually, what's going to happen to that system?

Read the full transcript

27:52It's going to fail. it's going to fail it's going to malfunction not because you're bad or wrong or broken but because that's inner mechanics any system so we saw that essentially the nervous system isn't getting proper emotional nutrients and it's malfunctioning and what that basically means is there's a switch in the body that controls fear that the nervous system controls and essentially the nervous system is malfunctioning and that fear switch which should be turning on and off at appropriate times is essentially stuck in the on position, creating this consistent high to mid to low levels of fear and then giving rise to the symptoms of fear, the anxiety, the procrastination, the self-doubt, the overthinking, the perfectionism, et cetera.

28:35So what we were seeing was essentially these behaviors that hold us back are actually just the symptom of the nervous system not getting proper nutrition. And so the big reframe was that procrastination, it's not a psychological issue. It's not a mind issue. It's a body issue. Anxiety is not a mind issue. It's a body issue. Perfectionism is not a spiritual issue. It's a body issue. Specifically, the nervous system is malfunctioning because it doesn't get proper nutrition and it's malfunctioning in creating these systems. That was the huge breakthrough. What do you think? I think it's powerful.

29:16I mean, it's something that, again, you kind of look at it from a couple steps back. You're like, that's so obvious. Like, it's just so obvious. The nervous system, the nutrients, like heal your body, like allow your body to thrive. But nobody's talking about it. Nobody's teaching it. Nobody's teaching. Nobody's talking about it. I don't know why. You know, when people find out the work that we're doing, they'll say, well, how are you solving this. They think it's some big fancy thing. It's like, no, it's the opposite. It's that we're engineers and we just tried to find what works. And often what gives us the biggest innovation are the simplest things that the experts missed.

29:51Florence Nightingale was this nurse who saw that all these soldiers were dying in battle and nobody could solve it. And she just found out, you know, change the bandages, open the windows and simple and the death rate dropped by 99%, but it's because she went looking for a solution. So the answer is not only obvious, it's simple. And it's not because we're smarter. It's just because I think we were engineers and we went looking for a simpler solution because simple is what works. And I think back to the time they talk about how so many mothers were dying while giving birth. And it literally was because doctors were not washing their hands.

30:28They were like coming from like a dirty surgery with filthy hands and they were just delivering a baby and then infecting the mothers and they were dying. And like when they actually started showing them what happened when they washed their hands first, everything changed. Like it literally became a non-issue, but there was still so much pushback from those like egotistical, just absolutely, you know, just, once you just, you want to squeeze these doctors who just literally, I don't want to use the word murdered because of course they weren't, but I mean, just, just were responsible for the deaths, the needless deaths of so many women as they're giving childbirth because they wouldn't wash their hands.

31:11Yep. And what you said exactly, it was their hubris and their ego and their quote unquote expertise. It was Ignaz Semmelweis, the doctor who discovered that. And yeah, he told all that, he went out and told people that it took 30 years for it to catch on because there was this bias and that's too simple. And part of the reason that I believe that what we're discovering, even though it works better, is innovative, is it's not, it's being adopted by individuals who hear me and sharing, but the therapists, the coaches, I don't think they want to hear it. I've seen them. They are resistant to what we're doing because I think they're quote unquote experts.

31:48And the idea of a simple solution not only challenges their entire framework, but also it's not a very good business model. You make way more money when you just give people band-aids, but the satisfaction is in the simple solution. That's what I get off on. Well, let's talk about real transformation, Daniel, because there's listeners right now. They feel stuck. They feel stuck because they're managing their emotions instead of actually overcoming them. So let's go through some practical strategies they can start using today to actually solve what's holding them back. That is what people want.

32:20The best way I can serve your audience is the technique that I want them to download at the end, which will give them a real understanding of a technique that they can apply and use. But I'll explain what the technique is based in so that you can understand kind of what it's about. And it has to do with what are the nutrients that our nervous system needs. When you understand the nutrition that the nervous system needs, it's much easier to get the nervous system, the nutrients. And so this idea of nervous system of nutrition is new to people. So I want people to understand what I mean by nutrition, because people will say, is it a vitamin?

32:59No, It's an emotional nutrition. I'll give you an example of one of the nutrients that the nervous system needs. Sound good? Sounds great. We'll do a little role play here. Okay. So, you know, let's say I'm talking to you, John, and I'm talking to your audience, if you're listening, and let's say we're friends. And let's say that you're feeling some fear. Okay. On the count of three, you, John, and to anyone listening, just say, on the count of three, just say, hey, I'm feeling afraid. on the count of three one two three hey i'm feeling afraid yeah i don't honestly don't care i don't care and i honestly i don't even want your fear anywhere near me because it's uncomfortable and whatever you're struggling with like get it away from me uh you're kind of on your own and the way you're feeling it doesn't even make sense you shouldn't be afraid you have a great life get away okay if i treat you that way which i never would that was a hypothetical if I treated you that way would the fear would you be more afraid or less afraid more afraid yeah and that's because I didn't give you one of the most important nutrients that the nervous system needs and that nutrient is the nutrient of listening your nervous system needs to be listened to and when you don't listen to the feelings in your nervous system it basically doesn't give the nutrients and it adds to the poor health now just to be clear if anyone's listening to this going like listening is that it i know to listen my therapist told me i need to listen more first of all that's just one of the nutrients and just to give you an example there's 28 total other nutrients in seven categories that we need to be giving our nervous system and it's the ones you're not giving yourself that create the the the malfunction Let me also add to that, Daniel, is that most people think they're good listeners and most people are terrible listeners.

34:50So they're wrong. I didn't want to say it, but you're right. Even if you know about listening and you know about it, the fact is we're not great listeners to other people, but also to ourselves. We're distracted. We're varying in our mind. We are overwhelmed. And so even if you know about listening, you're not actually doing it. And if you're not doing it, you're not getting the nutrients to your body. And then also it's not about the concept of listening. It's about the eight years of sort of engineered application to go from the concept of listening to actually get the result, which is that your procrastination, anxiety, and self-doubt is solved.

35:26But I just wanted to give you an example of one of the nutrients. And when you can get your nervous system, the nutrients that it needs, what happens is the fear switch in your body basically starts to function properly and it turns off. And when the fear switch turns off, the symptom of the fear basically just starts to dissipate on its own. But this idea of not having fear or low doubt worry, it's hard to imagine. And I want people to really feel what it is. I live in complete sort of calm and low fear all day long. I know what it's like. But I want your audience to kind of just imagine a life where your nervous system runs properly.

36:08So close your eyes or keep them open. and I want you to just imagine as best you can. Just imagine that the fear switch in your nervous system turns off. And just imagine as best you can that you're calm and you don't feel that tightness, that anxiety, that nervousness, that worry. Imagine that's just gone. Imagine you just feel calm and safe and less fear. Just as best you can, just imagine that and just sit with that imagined calmness. And what I want you to see is that if that fear was gone, that you'd have way less symptoms of fear. If you have some anxiety, can you see that if you had that less fear, you'd be less anxious or not anxious at all?

37:11If you're a procrastinator, if you weren't afraid to start and finish things, can you see that you'd procrastinate less? Can you see that if you were less afraid of people not liking you or disapproving of you, that the self-doubt would be gone and you'd feel more confident? Just see how good life would be if that fear switch was turned off. And not just with those behaviors, but just look at your whole life as a business owner, as a leader, as a family person in your relationships. Just imagine how good life would be if that fear switch was turned off and how that would unlock your potential and freedom and fulfillment.

37:57let me ask you john well a did you see that if you had less fear your symptoms of fear would probably go down yes and as successful as you are and as great a partner and father as you are how would your life be better if that fear switch was turned off much better although i think i need to have fear for some things that my two-year-old does like running into the road with traffic sometimes. But besides that, it'd be much better with my fear switch turned off. Yeah. And can you see what every business owner wants? They want to fulfill their potential. And what keeps us from our full potential long-term, it's that fear.

38:35It holds us back. It keeps us from being authentic. It puts us in our comfort zone without that fear. It just unlocks your ability to do everything better. Now, what I just sort of guided you to It was to kind of see the relationship between fear and the symptoms of fear. And if the fear switch was turned off, the symptoms would go away or down. But to really feel this, to really experience this, I want the audience to try the technique that I want to give them. And what that does is you get to apply another nutrient that you haven't heard of, and you're going to apply that nutrient. And when you apply that nutrient, the fear switch will turn off or weigh down.

39:14and then the symptom of fear will start to dissipate. John, you tried the technique that I'm talking about and when you applied it, did you feel a measurable change? It was quite a change. Can you say a little bit more about that? Yeah, I just felt a massive change. I mean, you asked me to kind of give like a rating prior than afterwards and it was essentially night and day. Yeah, and was it simple? Was it obvious? Was it mechanical? All three of those. I believe your number, the behavior that you were struggling with, started at an 8 out of 10. And after this five-minute technique, it went down to a 2 out of 10.

39:51And it was truly just a five minutes. Like, it was so quick. That's the power of inner engineering. And I want to be clear that there's a lot of concepts out there of how to understand why we struggle, how to be happier, how to be, you know, there's so many smart, well-meaning people sharing concepts. And all concepts and understanding have value and truth. the power of this particular understanding going to the fear in the nervous system and getting the nervous system the nutrients it needs it makes it fast and solvable especially with the eight years of engineering and testing so i want to be clear there's a lot of concepts out there but they don't necessarily solve what you're struggling with i had a client come to me two months ago entrepreneur business owner very successful multi-million dollar company anxiety self-doubt procrastination holding him back.

40:41And he came to me and he said, I heard you're solving this stuff. And I said, yeah. And he said, well, you know, I've been really working on my mindset. And I said, great. Mindset's great. I said, did it solve it? He said, no. And he said, I've really been thinking about my past and what my father did to me. I said, that's great. I said, but did it solve it? And he said, no. And I said, do you want a solution? Do results matter? And he said, yeah. So he went through our program. Within about four weeks, his anxiety was down 87%. His productivity had tripled, his sales, I think doubled, and his focus time went from 15 minutes at a time up to three hours at a time.

41:17And I bring that up because my dad said results matter. And I want to be clear, the power of this perspective that we're sharing is that it gives people a simple, fast solution. Results matter. Agreed? Agreed. I hope that what I have shared, you know, at least makes sense. I've tried to make it simple and accessible. And I think when people hear what I'm sharing, you know, they say, oh, that makes sense. You know, but understandably, they are skeptical. Will it work? And you should be skeptical. There's so many things out there that claim to work that don't work that well. And quite frankly, if I didn't wake up every morning, just like chill as a cucumber.

42:01Just do not give a flying fudge what anybody thinks of me. And I have a quiet mind and I'm fulfilled. If I didn't see our clients go from miserable to happy in a matter of weeks, if I didn't have all that data, I probably wouldn't believe me either. So if you're skeptical, I totally get it. Don't just trust me, trust your experience, which is why I want people to get this technique. It's called the struggle switch turnoff technique. And when you apply that technique, you give the nutrients to the nervous system it needs, the fear goes down and the symptoms go down. And I'm just asking John, if someone's listening to this and they're curious, but sort of on the fence or, oh, I don't have enough time, or this probably won't work.

42:46What would you, as someone who tried the technique, what would you say to them? I would say you owe to yourself to try this technique because I was not even struggling with these things personally. Like I had to really dig deep to go into this conversation with Daniel and I found immediate relief very quickly. And so if you're somebody who's listening is actually currently struggling with something day to day, I mean, this is a no brainer. Damn. Thank you. Welcome. Appreciate that. And you're somebody that has heard it all. I've heard it all. Yeah, you've definitely heard it all. You have heard it all.

43:20So I'm biased. I think this is incredible. I live it every day, but you know, why would you try the technique? You would try the technique. If what I've shared makes sense, you know, does it make sense that maybe you don't have problems? You've got symptoms of fear and that the fear is coming from the nervous system. Cause it's got the word nervous right in there. Does it make sense that the nervous system, like any system in the body needs proper nutrition and you were never taught how to give proper nutrition. And so it's malfunctioning and the fear switch is stuck in the on position, which then gives rise to these symptoms of fear.

43:52But does it make sense that if you then got the nervous system, proper nutrition, it would function properly and quickly the fear switch turns off and the symptoms could go away so that you could be free of this. If that at least makes sense to you enough such that you're curious if this could work, I want you to go to danielpackard.com slash fire.
