Today, we'll be breaking down beyond the book, The Real Truth, How Authors Become Millionaires. To draw these value bombs, I brought them to Natasha Denman and EO Fire Studios. Natasha is a 15-time author, mentor, and founder of The Ultimate 48 Hour Author. She's helped over 950 solopreneurs publish over 1 ,300 books, transforming lives and businesses. And today, Far Nation, we'll talk about the author millionaire myth, the bestseller hack, how to unlock the power of leverage, and oh, so much more.
39And a big thank you for sponsoring today's episode goes to Natasha and our sponsors. Fire Nation, this is your year to get unstuck and to grow a successful business. Again, request life-changing tickets today at thrivetimeshow.com slash EO fire. Natasha, say what's up to Fire Nation and share something that you believe about becoming successful that most people disagree with. I love that. Well, in the area that I work in, a lot of people disagree with writing a book off the bat.
26And I think that you have to become successful before you're ready to write a book. I believe that it's completely the opposite. Write a book, then become successful and get noticed and build the credibility. Fire Nation, that's why we're talking about beyond the book, the real truth about how authors become millionaires. And Natasha, there's something that's called the author millionaire myth. What the heck is that? Often people who want to write books think that those that have become really successful authors have done it just through book sales. And often the question to me is, how many books do I need to sell to make a million dollars?
12Or how can I become a million author? And it is very rare in today's world to purely become a millionaire from book sales. So, I like for people to think bigger and think leverage and think about the other things they can create that can actually fast track this process a lot more. So, don't think about just book sales, but what else can you create from the value that is in your book? and that's where I really believe in my experience that you have to have a book funnel when you're getting into this kind of process like you have to have a call to action a reason for your your readers to say okay I really am enjoying what I'm reading I'm getting value from this and the author is making it very clear what that next step is if I can work with them as a coach join a mastermind a product a service fill in the blank there's a lot of opportunities there fire nation but it's not going to happen on the book sales alone, like Natasha is saying for most individuals.
20And you happen to have Natasha, something that we like to call a best seller hack. Let's expose that hack now. Yeah, I love it. So many people nowadays call themselves bestsellers and I certainly have a lot of my authors asking me to help them with this hack. But it's the number one Amazon bestseller strategy that a lot of authors execute to skyrocket their credibility, to rub shoulders with Amazon. So I don't know if you guys have seen 99 cent purchases or offers online for Kindle books. And basically what they're doing is they're running a 24 hour strategy whereby they push as many sales because they have removed the price resistance and that book for momentarily a few hours or maybe a few days if you're lucky will hit the shelves in Amazon at number one.
18People take those screenshots and then they put a stamp on their book saying that they're a number one Amazon bestselling author. Most people in the world that don't know this see that as credibility and they perceive the book as being more valuable. So I'm very transparent about this. I've done it on a couple of my own books. But when I tell my authors, look, guys, this is not about book sales. This is about, you know, getting a status that other people don't know what it is. Now, Fire Nation, what's really important here is that, listen, you're not deceiving anybody. You're not telling an untruth.
00What you're doing is you're putting your book out for a certain price point that's taking away price resistance and is taking away buyer resistance. And guess what? People are buying your book. And because they're buying your book at a higher quantity, you have a much higher likelihood to hit that bestseller status. And guess what? When you hit bestseller status, you better be ready with that screenshot. you take that screenshot and you have bestseller status as a screenshot, as an image that you can use. And guess what? When you get now you're interviewed on shows or you're doing this, you're doing that.
35And you can honestly say that, Hey, I have been an Amazon bestseller. They're not going to say, well, wait a second. Did you use that 99 cent hack? No, people are not going to ask that question. They'd be like, Oh, well, congratulations because you actually did it. And that's what you're saying you did, period, end of story. And that's one way that you can use leverage. And I want to talk a little bit more about leverage. How can we unlock, Natasha, the power of leverage? My very first book 15 years ago was on weight loss. And I really wanted to build a coaching business behind that. And one of the things that happened was, of course, at the back of the book, I offered my coaching services and I only really needed five to 10 clients to first of all, get to my first six figure business.
26But from there, you know, speaking opportunities came about because I was out and about networking from those speaking opportunities, collaborations came about. And I ended up turning the book into a program, a training manual back then with CDs and all sorts of stuff and then ended up licensing the process, you know, and getting other people to do what I was doing. So just one thing led to another. And I mean, leverage can be in many other ways. You could create an online course from the content in your book. Of course, you can start a podcast like you have, you know, that's powerful. So yeah.
06Fire Nation, you need to go from strength to strength. Like when you work really hard on something, you create something of value and a big thing that I believe in is do this, become the number one solution to a real problem in a growing industry. If you're able to do those things, you're going to win at some level and then go from that strength that you went at to strength and build upon that strength to build upon that strength. Now, just out of curiosity, Natasha, what was kind of your unique niche or angle when it came to weight loss? Was there something that you were doing that was a little different?
41The business was called Ultimate Weight Loss, but the niche within that niche was lose the last 10 kilos. And so it was very specific and narrow. So people knew what I did. It wasn't just any weight loss. It was just specific target audience, which there are a lot of those people out there. Lose the last 10. I mean, Fire Nation, we've all gone on those nice little detoxes or those exercises or those health kicks. And we're like, oh man, I'm just like, I'm there, but I'm within 10 pounds, but like I can't quite shed those last 10. And guess what? Natasha came up and she owned that niche. And that's the thing.
19I mean, I could see myself Googling right now, like how do I lose the final 10 pounds? And like, I'm sure, especially at that timeframe, Natasha would have come up for that search because that was what she was focused on. She was looking at becoming the number one solution to a real problem, losing the last 10 pounds in a growing industry, which of course is weight loss and is going to continue to be that for time and memoriam. So Fire Nation, we have a lot to talk about around this topic. When we get back from thanking our sponsors, Fire Nation, this is your year to get unstuck and to grow a successful business.

Natasha, we're back and collaboration is challenging, but you have actually created a way to make collaboration easy.
04Tell us more. I guess that being an author, when you write a book, it positions you as someone who's quite serious about what they're doing and building those relationships with other people who are complementary to you, but not in competition with you is super, makes it a lot easier, right? And this is where like I see the power of networking. I mean, my first three or four years in business, I didn't spend a dollar on paid advertising. All I did is go to two networking events every week and just meet people just in my local city. And really my business was at multi six figures without any paid advertising because of the people I met, the relationships I've developed and the opportunities that those relationships ended up getting me.
57Fire Nation, again, when you have something like a niche and you're speaking on it, you've written a book on it, you're going to have opportunities to collaborate with other people that are in a similar niche, or by the way, they're in a completely different niche because this can be a great way to co-mingle your audiences. And then you have this opportunity, which we kind of briefly talked about when it comes to writing a book and having a call to action, of leading people to a higher ticket offer. And as Natasha said earlier, which was pretty cool, she only needed five or six clients from people that read her book to bring her into the six figure territory.
34So let's talk about high ticket monetization. I think it's harder to sell a$20 product than it is to sell a$20 ,000 program. Sometimes I've had longer conversations over for someone buying my book than the$20 ,000 program. And I think if you can build enough value and package and bundle your solution so that you're covering every aspect anyone can think of, and that's why when I created our Ultimate Footy Adult Author system like now 12 years ago, it's been successful because it's an end-to-end solution. and whenever I'm looking at helping my clients, you know, create their high-ticket offers, I go, how can we put in so much value in this?
24It feels like it's more than$100 ,000 worth of value, but you're selling it, say, at$15 ,000,$20 ,000 and people think they're getting an absolute bargain. And from creating that, you know, that's how you can get to seven and multiple seven figures, which is what's happened for myself and for quite a few of my clients who have wanted to take it that far. Now, you've created something that we like to call profit to freedom strategies. What are those strategies? Break down profit to freedom. And actually, that's something I only recently wrote about in book sales won't make you rich. And that is about you create a business, you write a book, you create the leverage, you do your high ticket, you're helping people at a high level, but how are you actually setting yourself up for life?
22So how are you creating passive income for that financial independence? So you're not reliant on social services, you know, the pension when you're older. So it's about the strategies of reinvesting your profit into say real estate or shares or whatever it is that you're interested in. Usually the real estate is the safest and kind of most leveraged way that I have found that works really well. So we cannot work forever at the intensity that perhaps we're working in our 30s, 40s and even 50s. So I'm always thinking about running a lean business that still gives me the lifestyle currently that I travel four months a year and I work eight months out of the year.
11But then I'm also investing what's left over into those highly leverageable assets that produce the freedom that right now, speaking to you 10 years later, I'm proud to say we're financially independent and we can choose if we work or we don't work. And so I always encourage people like we work hard as it is. So why not start to think about and create those strategies that are going to see us have choice? Yes. And Fire Nation, at the end of the day, this is why we work hard. This is why we set on this journey. It's for freedom, freedom to do what we want, when we want to do it, with whom we want to do it with.
51So we can travel, so we can focus on time with family, so we can focus on work if we love that work. I mean, I love having a number of hours a day dedicated to my work because I feel productive. I feel like I'm making progress and I love that aspect of it. And it makes my time that I spend with family even more enjoyable because now I'm, you know, really focused and present for that. So I think that's a really cool kind of way to approach things when you're really trying to, you know, say, Hey, am I working towards that freedom strategy that I really know that was my original goal? Am I getting closer to that?
26And Natasha, we've talked about a lot today about the author millionaire myth, about the bestseller hack, about leverage, about collaboration, high ticket. What is the one thing that you would love for the audience to walk away with from our conversation today? I want everyone who's been thinking about writing a book to just get it done. Because I say that writing a book is not about the book, it's about the person you become at the other end of it. And often that is that transformation that people need even just to grow in confidence and to just become proud of what they know and what they can share with the world.
06It's often the self-doubt and fear that holds them back from doing it. And the fact is that more than 92 % of adults want to write a book, but such a tiny, tiny little percentage, something like 0.01 % of people ever do it. And I want them to know that there's so much you can do and the growth will come as you take each step. The growth will come, Fire Nation. And Natasha, if our listeners want to connect with you, want to learn more about you, what is your call to action for Fire Nation today? Yeah, well, I've got something set up.
