11Do you have the right mentor in your life right now? For the first time in seven years, I'm opening up a few mentorship slots for individuals who know they need the guidance and accountability to take their business and life to the next level. Email me at john at EOFire.com with the subject line mentor, and we'll schedule a 15-minute chat to go over the program and see if it's the right fit for you. Laura, say what's up to Fire Nation and share something that you believe about becoming successful that most people disagree with. Hello, Fire Nation. So nice to be with you today. I believe that we don't have one true calling.
54I don't know if you're familiar with the concept of multi-potentiality, but that is something that That really resonates with me. And I'm definitely someone who identifies as having, you know, diverse interests. And it took some time to kind of accept that and see that more as a strength to my success today. So I think that, yeah, we don't have one true calling and that's totally okay. And you, you know, build a strength out of all those different interests that you can curate. Yes, Fire Nation, multi-potentiality is a thing, and I think you need to be very open to that. And I think it's really interesting because we're going to be talking about the story behind Tagger and walking you through how that even came to be.
39And you can just see that there are so many paths to take in this world. But at the end of the day, it's are you adding value to people? And of course, on this podcast, Entrepreneurs on Fire, are you adding value to entrepreneurs and businessmen and businesswomen? And as I mentioned in the introduction, we also have Allison who is on the mic. We'll be hearing from her in a second, which would be really cool. But Laura, I do want to stay with you to start with the story behind Tagger. Take it away. Tagger is a direct response to some trends that we've been seeing in the retail sector. Tagger is a brand that is under the umbrella of SCSC MagoTag.
16and SESC Magotag has been serving large big box brick and mortar retailers for the last 25 years. And we have observed over time some trends and some of them obviously are heightened with the pandemic situation at the moment. But Tagger is really trying to encompass that and bring a solution to small business owners where they can benefit from the same technology that larger brick-and-mortar retailers are looking into and using, but bringing them to them in a way that is a lot more user-friendly, faster to set up, and that answers to their specific needs. So some of the trends that we've noticed and that you can probably identify with if you're running a retail business today is that customer and employee engagement are really becoming very centric to how you have to think about your business model.
14And the key point there is really trying to deepen trust with your customers. The second one, and obviously this is something that's been going on for a while, is embracing the digital world and really looking at ways to automate a lot of tasks that you have to perform in your small business every day, where you don't have a lot of added value. So you can automate them to then free up some of your time. And the last trend, which is really an important one, is that contactless service is here to stay. You know, it's definitely something that the pandemic has brought front and center to the stage, but we definitely see it staying.
50And so Tagger is taking all of that and bringing a solution to you where you can spend less time updating your prices in your store by using digital tags that will update in real time with all of the product information that you need to create that trust with your customers to automate your processes and spend less time on changing price tags, which is, you know, high labor costs. And then finally providing that contactless service to your customers. So I love that in Fire Nation. I think, as you can see, when you can create not just a solution, but the best solution to a real problem in this world, you are going to win.
31So, Allison, what would you like to add to Laura's breakdown? Tagger is a direct response to us hearing what small business owners are looking for. And they are looking for saving time, spending more time with their customers instead of worth the pricing. I mean, there's a lot of things that small businesses need, but they want to streamline their processes and really focus on what matters most, which is absolutely their passion behind what they're selling, what they're working on. And being able to do that and letting Tagger kind of like take care of the rest of their pricing needs, that's kind of, that is in a nutshell what Tagger is trying to do.
17It's trying to be a solution that really saves you time and allows you to spend that time elsewhere. And Fire Nation, obviously this is a audio only podcast, but I did get to go through Tagger's explainer video, which is really cool. and the visual really shows you in a cool way exactly what it means to automate your price updates. And Laura, you've actually mentioned some of the benefits and what the actual process is and what it means to do these price updates, but let's dive a little bit deeper. So share with us a little bit more about this, the benefits, and specifically, let's get into how somebody like our listeners, Fire Nation, could use Tagger in their retail business.
54Absolutely. So Tagger comes, you know, in a self-install solution. So the idea is that it comes in a kit where you have everything that you would need to get started with replacing your paper tags with digital ones. So this is what we call the Tagger Discovery Kit. That includes a small little access point, which you would be linking up to your, you know, standard power outlet in your store and then into an Ethernet cable. Once you've done that, you just turn it on. It's as easy as that. You'll have a setup guide that will walk you through those few steps. And then it's all happening via a mobile app.
32So here we've tried to make it as seamless as possible for you. You download this app, you would just create an account, and then you're actually entering the credentials of your POS system. So whether you're using Vend, Lightspeed, Square, Clover, you would be able to just connect with that same account that you have with your POS vendor. And then the app will just retrieve in real time all of your products that you've listed and that you've entered in your POS system. And from there, you can select a product that you would like to match to a tag. So you would then actually physically take a tag from your kit, place it in front of the product, take a photo of the little ID code that's on the tag, and then that's linked to that product.
19And in about one to two minutes, you would see all of the product information show up on that tag, whether that's your price, your product reference, customer reviews, a QR code, anything that you'd like to put on there, we're able to display through the app. It's a pretty smart tag. We like smart tags, Fire Nation, because guess what? When the tag smart, that means we can kind of free up our time, our energy, our mental bandwidth to do other things. And as entrepreneurs, we want to be doing other things. We want to be thinking about other ideas. We want to be thinking about other opportunities that we can dive into.
55And we have so much more on this topic and more when we get back from thanking our sponsors. Is this your year to grow a successful business? 10:09Question for you, Fire Nation. Do you have the right mentor in your life right now? For me, mentorship was everything from when I was just getting started in podcasting, webinars, course creation, book writing, you name it. I hired a mentor to guide me every step of the way. For the first time in seven years, I'm opening up a few mentorship slots for individuals who know they need the guidance and accountability to take their business and life to the next level. It's a three-month program and together we will achieve massive results. If you're interested in learning more, email me at john at eofire.com with the subject line mentor and we'll schedule a 15-minute chat to go over the program to see if it's the right fit for you.
55That's john, J-O-H-N at eofire.com, but only if you're prepared to ignite. So Laura, I'll have you start with this one, but I'd love to maybe get a good one from Alison as well. So Alison, you can kind of be thinking in the background about my next question, which is maybe a case study or two of how Tagger was used effectively in a business. Like maybe think about a business or two that you guys have worked with or seen use Taggart in a really cool way and really talk about how they did this so we can kind of think and see this in action. One that really comes to mind is a camera shop that we worked with in Brooklyn just, you know, a few months ago.
38And they've equipped all of their cameras in stores with a little digital price tag in front of them. And something really cool that, you know, they're able to do is to actually list on their tag a lot of the product specs. So when you're looking, you know, at higher ticket items, you want to be able to give your customers more than just a price and a product reference. You want to be able to give them information on, you know, what are the different technical specifications. And if you don't have enough room on that tag because, you know, you are limited, you can even add a little QR code and that's what they did.
13Then your customer with their smartphone can scan this QR code and they get redirected to your online shop where they can either decide to purchase it, have it delivered at their home, or they can have access to other information that you're sharing on there, whether it's videos, customer reviews, anything that will help them with that purchase. John, I'd like to just point out something that Laura kind of mentioned twice there. She mentioned something really cool about Tagger's pricing options. It's not just the price on the tag. You can talk about the product specs. You can have reviews on the specs.
51And I think that's really cool because if you're a store owner and you're talking to one customer and somebody else walks in, they can still be understanding what's on the shelves and kind of learning about your product offering while you're helping somebody else. And then if they are scanning that QR code, that information's on their phone and it's going to stay there. And the next time they go and open up their web browser and they see their phone has saved this information, it might put an idea in their head to go back to the camera store, check it out again. I mean, it's a really cool kind of lead generation process as well.
23So it's almost like you've got your price tag selling for you. Fire Nation, you need to be asking yourself questions like, how can I create a better user experience? How can I create a more seamless experience? How can I become interwoven into my customers and clients' lives? Just like Allison you shared in that example. I mean, it just makes so much sense. So Laura, how would anybody even get started with this? So it's super simple. We've created, you know, an online shop where you would go. This is tagger.shop and you can then on there order this discovery kit that we've been talking about. We've made this a free trial.
01So meaning that you can order it. You're not going to pay anything up front you get it for 30 days to actually test it out in your store the discovery kit would come with 20 smaller tags and then two of our larger size tags usually the larger size tags you know you'll use in front of larger ticket items like the example of the camera store i gave or if you're running special promotions in your store and you know once you've just received the kit you've installed it you have 30 days to play around with it and if you decide that you know this makes sense for you and you're really seeing the return, then you can go back to our tagger.shop online store and purchase more tags, you know, as you go to equip more and more products in your store.
45Tagger can grow with you. You know, you get your kit and it comes with a bunch of different sizes and options for your store. But really, you know, we don't expect the discovery kit to be everything that you would need. We want you to customize your experience. Every small business owner has different needs. And so there's plenty of options on our website for you to get exactly what you need that fits your product and make it really work for you and your business. So Laura, take the mic and then we'll hand it over to Allison as well. But I want you to share exactly the one key takeaway from everything we talked about here today that you really want to make sure Fire Nation gets that our business owners, that are entrepreneurs that they really understand from this entire conversation that we've had here today?
33Boiling it down, Tagger really comes to how can you make that in-store experience for your customers seamless and how can you save your time or your employees' time so that they can focus on what's, you know, mattering for your bottom line, which is making those sales and being able to provide that service to your customers. And obviously changing paper price tags, making sure the prices are correct, that you've updated them in real time to reflect your discounts is not where you're spending, you know, making the best use of your time. So Tagger really comes down to freeing up your time so that you can spend it on what matters, running your business and being able to provide that quality service to your customers.
20Allison? The DIY mentality is really all over Tagger's MO. What we are all about is that it's customizable for your business. It's easy to install. It's something that you can grow with over time. It works with your current POS system. And it does free up your time to spend it elsewhere because small business owners multitask. And that is exactly what we want to continue to help them to do. I love that message. And Laura, where would Fire Nation go to learn more? I mean, Tagger, Fire Nation, just FYI, T-A-G-R, Tagger. What link, where do you want Fire Nation to connect with this brand? What is that next step?
03So the next step would be for you to visit our online store. And we have a special link for you listeners today. So that would be tagger.shop slash E on fire. Tagger.shop slash E O N fire.
