1:11Fire Nation, success isn't a solo journey. It's about who you surround yourself with. That's why I built the Freedom Circle, a powerful community of entrepreneurs ready to support, inspire, and share the ideas that move you forward. Visit freedom-circle.com to learn more. Kerry, say what's up to Fire Nation and share something that you believe about becoming successful that most people disagree with. JLD, my brother, thank you so much for having me. And what is up, Fire Nation? I am honored to be back on the mic. Something I believe about success that maybe others don't feel similarly is that you actually have to wait to the end destination to be happy.
2:00See, I believe you can be happy within the everyday hustle. Fire Nation, this is the core of everything that Carrie does. And this is what we'll be talking about throughout this episode that we will be ending with a bang on, by the way, as you saw in the title, the Montana Mastermind Epic Camping Adventure. But before we get to that, let's talk about the happy hustle, the 10 alignments to achieve blissful balance. Yeah, man. So the happy hustle was basically born out of necessity. See, I was a busy tech entrepreneur in New York City, wearing the fancy suit and tie, doing all the things, and I burn out.
2:39And I'm sure a lot of Fire Nation can resonate with burning out or being on the brink of burnout. See, I was working 100 plus hour weeks and getting less than five hours of sleep, you know, all for profit and success. So I ended up folding my tech company. I moved to Bangkok, Thailand for 10 months, and it was there where the happy hustle was born. That's where I really started to put the happy in my everyday hustle. And, you know, that's where the 10 alignments specifically were created because I broke my life down into these 10 different areas and these 10 different alignments, will you, in which I focus on in order to achieve that blissful balance, both personally and professionally.
3:18And I'm happy to get into each 10 quickly if you'd like, JLD. Let's burn through them. So it makes up the acronym soul mapping. This is your soul's map to the blissfully balanced promised land. And the S stands for selfless service. You know, you got to be given back to others. O stands for optimized health. You need to be mentally strong. U stands for unplugged digitally, which is extremely important now more than ever in this modern technological era. L stands for loving relationships because you got to have love in your life, right? Then you get into the mapping part, and this is mindful spirituality, right?
3:54Believing in something bigger than yourself. A is abundance financially, meaning are you actually saving and investing and spending wisely? The first P stands for personal development, and this is are you growing and evolving or are you shrinking and dissolving? The second P is passionate hobbies. You know, are you actually doing fun things that bring you joy? And I know as entrepreneurs, we find that a difficult one specifically because we end up giving a lot to others and to our businesses, but not so much to ourselves and our hobbies. I stands for impactful work and actually doing something that infuses your passion and your purpose to make a positive impact.
4:33And then N stands for nature, connection, meaning actually getting outside and enjoying our beautiful Mother Earth and, oh, by the way, protecting it in the process. So these are the 10 alignments of being a happy hustler. And we actually went through this on the last EO Fire episode, if people want to go deeper. Yeah, we went real deep on that. So if you just go Fire Nation to eofire.com and just type Carrie, C-A-R-Y in the search bar, that episode comes right up. We went deep into each one of those. And let me tell you, if you haven't heard it, go listen to that. But you mentioned Mother Earth, and you really have become one with that in a lot of ways.
5:12I was actually thinking about you last night because I was watching Power of the Dog, I think that's the name of the movie, with Kirsten Dunst. And it takes place up in Montana. I'm like, that is just beautiful country. I've been up to Bozeman myself. I've skied Big Sky. I love that area, you know, being a Mainer, I always kind of love the North and the great North. But you're doing something really cool, which we're going to talk more in depth about towards the end of the episode. But obviously the title of this chat is the Montana Mastermind Epic Camping Adventure. And so you may have to do something really cool with taking these 10 alignments you just went through and also combine the power of the three-day effect with this Montana Mastermind Epic adventure.
5:53So talk about how you've done that, what this is and all that jazz. Yeah, well, JLD, as you mentioned, I mean, there's just nothing like the great outdoors. And, you know, us humans, we have been living and enjoying the great outdoors for hundreds of thousands of years. And it was really only within the last hundred years have we really started to live indoors. And specifically the last 50 years where we have been just inundated with technology in our everyday reality. And most of us have actually lost touch with nature and have been just so disconnected from our beautiful planet's amazing natural environment and its benefits.
6:30So there's a study out that just shows the benefits of being outdoors for three days. And Dr. David Sawyer, he's a cognitive psychologist at the University of Utah, he coined the term the three-day effect. And this is basically stating that those in nature for three days showed lower prefrontal cortex activity, which is the part of your brain region that when overstimulated is responsible for stress, depression, and anxiety. So basically, when you get outside and exposed to nature for three days, you lower your blood pressure, you improve your memory, you elevate your mood, you get better sleep quality, increased self-esteem, vitamin absorption, immune system, the list goes on and on.
7:11There's just so many mental and physical benefits. And that's why we built the Montana mastermind in the duration that it is. Fire Nation, I really hope you're resonating and really just absorbing all this stuff that Carrie's breaking down right here, because this is the world that we live in. This is the world that we live in. And if we don't take specific actions to do the things that we need to regenerate, to restore, to just be at one with ourselves, things are going to happen and not good things. We're talking major burnout. We're talking major trauma. We're talking a lot of different things.
7:46So what I want to do next, I want to move into digitally detoxing. I want to talk a little more about why you came up with the idea of the Montana Mastermind and how that's kind of played out and the role that I'll be playing in that as well, which is going to be pretty fun for you, Fire Nation. And a lot more when we get back from thanking our sponsors. Fire Nation, let me drop a truth bomb. The biggest bottleneck holding most entrepreneurs back isn't lack of ideas, tools, or hustle. It's lack of connection. And when I scaled my business to eight figures and mentored thousands of entrepreneurs, I saw the same thing again and again.
8:20People trying to do it alone. And that's why I created the Freedom Circle. You've heard me end every episode of Entrepreneurs on Fire by saying you are the average of the five people you spend the most time with. That's not just a quote. It's the reality of success. The Freedom Circle instantly becomes your family of five and then some. It's a community of driven entrepreneurs ready to pour ideas, connections, and support into every part of your journey. So Fire Nation, if you're ready to level up and finally create freedom on your terms, head to freedom-circle.com to learn more. That's freedom-circle.com.
8:56Okay, let's talk about a platform that's completely changing how entrepreneurs are running their business, and they are also our featured partner, High Level. If you're an entrepreneur, coach, agency, or course creator looking to grow faster and smarter, HighLevel is the all-in-one platform that replaces your entire tech stack. Seriously, think ClickFunnels, Calendly, MailChimp, Kajabi, and even your CRM all rolled up into one powerful white label solution. You can build funnels, send SMS and email campaigns, schedule appointments, manage pipelines, run memberships, and even launch your own branded mobile app.
9:29It's drag and drop simple, incredibly customizable, and built for serious growth. My favorite part, you can resell HighLevel under your own brand. That means recurring revenue, loyal clients, and total control. So whether you're tired of duct taping tools together or ready to start offering high value services with ease, HighLevel is your unfair advantage. On top of it all, their support team is second to none and has your back every step of the way. Seriously, every question that pops up, they will have your answer waiting. And if you visit my special partnership link, you'll get a free trial.
10:01So visit highlevelfire.com to start your free trial and see why thousands of businesses are switching. That's highlevelfire.com, where marketing, sales, and automation finally come together. High level, join the revolution. So Kerry, we're back, and I want to keep tying in the 10 alignments and the three-day effects and now digital detoxing, which is, by the way, nearly impossible to do at home. I mean, as much as we say like, we're just going to take a break from, you can't do that. I mean, I've got my Oculus Rift sitting right here, my phone's right there, my computer's right here, the TV's right there.
10:37It is impossible. So kind of tie these three things together now. And again, let's move kind of into like the main event. It's so difficult to just disconnect these days. And actually, Dr. Stephen Covey has a quote that I love. It's, you can't continually operate at peak efficiency and creativity if you're working 100 % of the time. You need to take time off and refresh and recharge. And specifically, the Montana Mastermind allows you to do that in the most beautiful, pristine environment where there's no distractions because, heck, you don't have service. There's just no way you're going to get distracted because there's no service.
11:18We are so deep in the national forest. So to give you a little bit of context, essentially, the Montana Mastermind Epic Camping Adventure was created because I live out in Montana. I love it here. And I get asked all the time by my fellow colleagues and high-performing entrepreneurs, hey, Gary, I want to come camping, fishing, hunting, hiking with you. So enough people asked me where I said, all right, I'm going to put something together. And this is really where the genesis started. And so now what we do is essentially this epic five days, four nights, business mastermind backcountry camping adventure.
11:54And it mixes business and pleasure. And we hike in and out 10 plus miles each way up a 2000 plus foot elevation climb to the most beautiful base camp, pristine lake in the national forest of Montana. It's right on the outskirts of Yellowstone National Park, America's first national park. and it's just stunning scenery. Then once we get to base camp, after this amazing hike, we actually have a primitive survival expert in US Marine. He was actually on the show alone, which I know JLD, you and I are both big fans of. And he teaches us the survival art of thriving in the wilderness, making snares and bow drill fires and purifying water and everything you need to feel confident in the wilderness.
12:41So then you can teach your family and your friends. Then we actually have a business mastermind while out in the wilderness, you know, going through our number one challenge and our number one adversities that we're facing and our number one wins. And we really actually have a structured mastermind. And I've been involved in some amazing masterminds from Russell Brunson's inner circle to Lewis Howes's masterminds and everyone in between and JLD's masterminds too. And it's just, I take all these great experiences and I combine them into this experience in nature. We also have a professional fly fisherman who comes to teaches the art of fly fishing and everyone who attends gets their own fly rod and reel combo to keep so they can actually catch their own trout and then cook them up and eat them there in the wilderness.
13:23And then we actually have a professional backcountry chef who cooks for Tom Brady and Will Ferrell and all these big dogs out here at the Yellowstone Club. And he's cooking up delicious, healthy, organic eats all camping trip long. And then we come back from, you know, this amazing experience all refreshed and rejuvenated. And then we go to the hot springs here, the natural thermal hot springs to soak our weary bodies after a long hike. And we just enjoy our time. You know, you make lifelong friends. Business deals are done. It's all just high performing entrepreneurs who attend and we really curate the group.
13:59I'll do so. We do something that's called the beer test, meaning I actually have to want to get a beer with you in order to come. It's a very important test, JLD, because its vibes are important out there. And this is the real deal, man. This is grizzly bears and mountain lion and wolves and moose. And it's the real deal wilderness. So you want to make sure that everyone is mentally and physically strong, but also the vibes are really important. So that's essentially the gist of the Montana Mastermind Epic Camping Adventure. And I know JLD is going to be coming on these one day soon. I mean, we've already locked it in for 2023, the summer of 2023.
14:33I'm in. It's going to be a blast. But if any of you are listening right now and you're like, well, I don't want to wait. I want to go in 2022. Well, you should, because those people that go actually go in 2022 are going to get preferential application process to go on the one that I go on in 2023. And Kerry's going to be cooking up an extra special epic camping adventure for that one. And that's going to happen in the summer of 2023. So I highly recommend get on the 2022 bandwagon, apply for it, see if you're one of these people that Kerry can stand having a beer with. And if you are, you're going to learn some things that even I don't know, even though I was an officer in the army for eight years.
15:14I mean, there's some things that I definitely don't know that you'll be learning on this so that you can be the pro and I can be the amateur when I go in 2023 with you. So it's going to be a blast. Talk to us about, you know, who really is this for? Like they're listening to like, this could be for me, but I don't know if am I in good enough shape? What if I'm completely clueless about the outdoors? Like who is it really for on a broad spectrum? And why should people apply? This Montana Mastermind Epic Camping Adventure is for high level male entrepreneurs. The summer of 2022, we are doing male only, But the women, fear not, we are doing a women's event.
15:50So please apply if you are interested because then you'll be the first on the list to get notified when the women's event does drop. But this is for male high-level entrepreneurs who are typically making over six figures. Most are seven, eight, and nine-figure earners. And they pass the beer test. You want to make sure also that you're physically and mentally able to hike 20 miles in. And you can carry a 50-pound pack on your back. And, you know, you want to be making sure that you don't have any medical complications. But really, this trip is for people who want to tap into their primal sense, JLD, you know, people who want to digitally detox and just enjoy the great outdoors while connecting with like-minded, badass entrepreneurs.
16:33And this is really one of those events that you will talk about for the rest of your life and actually have fun throughout the entire process. I mean, the guys who came on the last ones that they are coming on again, time and time again, and they're bringing all their friends. And it's just one of those things. You know, there's something different about bonding in a boardroom and in a conference hall versus bonding in the great outdoors. And it's just one of those powerful experiences. We also do breath work and meditations and cold plunges and visioneering and journaling. And, you know, we have all these primal biohacker workouts.
17:08and we actually capture all the content for you and your social media so you can keep it. We have a professional photographer and videographer. So there's just a lot of benefits. There's guaranteed ROI, both personally and professionally for the right people who do attend. And for those who are interested, I would invite you to just go to carryjack.com forward slash Montana to apply. And JLD, we're actually doing something special for Fire Nation because I'm a longstanding member of Fire Nation and you have played such a pivotal role on my journey. We're actually giving$500 off each ticket investment for Fire Nation.
17:43So if you want to apply and you want to get the discount, you can go to kerryjack.com forward slash Montana and see if it's a fit. Fire Nation, I love this. Again, being from Maine and Kira and I were talking about this pre-interview, I just, I miss the wilderness. I miss just kind of being completely out there, disconnected, digitally detoxing. And we really tried to make it this year as far as me going on a trip in 2022. I just can't do it with prior commitments, but I'm locked in for 2023. So I want everybody that thinks this is for them, go in 2022, have the time of your life, preferential applications for the epic, epic one in 2023 for those that go in 2022.
18:22It's going to be amazing. And what's that URL one more time, Kerry? Yeah. So it's kerryjack.com forward slash Montana. So M-O-N-T-A-N-A. And just so everyone's aware, we're specifically targeting right now the July 20th through the 24th. But there is a trip in August and September. So if those dates don't work out but you are super interested, I still urge you to apply and try to get on one of these other dates. But for the 2023 one with JLD, we got some super cool surprises. And it will be a different trail and it will be a different lake and a different vicinity of Montana. so it won't be like the same trip especially if jld is going to be there you know he's going to be dropping fire bombs and it's awesome too you know because i love how this fits with jld's uh quote which is you are the sum of your five closest relationships right so you either round up or you round down and there you will definitely be rounded up and and it's limited i mean there's only a handful of people that can go right like what's the total number i can only take 15 into the backcountry wilderness.
19:26That's not my rules. That's national forest regulations. So it is limited by that law. So yeah, it is one of those things. Get on it if you want to do it because we actually only have limited spots left. So. Kerryjack.com slash Montana. And before we let you go, let's make it brief, but let's make it powerful. What's one of your favorite stories? Just give us like a memory from one of those trips you've taken. We were all out in the meadow and we were shirtless, all 15 guys shirtless. And some of them decided not to put clothes on because they were going really primal. And we were stretching, we were doing our biohacker workouts, we were doing cold plunges.
20:09And here comes a group of cowboys and they roll up five deep on horseback. And here we are, 15 bros in the wilderness, some of us naked. And I can only imagine what these Cowboys were thinking, what the heck are doing out in the wilderness? We just were laughing so hard about it. They are still talking about it to this day. It's probably something that comes up at least once a weekend. It's like when you talk about that perfect touchdown pass you made in high school, it just keeps coming up over and over again. I mean, they must have been like, what are these people doing? This is going to be trouble.
20:44But Fire Nation, believe me, clothes are definitely going to be part of most of the heat trap so it's not that was an optional thing those ones that went full full primal so get over there carriejack.com slash montana you're going to bond like you've never bonded before you're going to have an absolute blast your business is going to get better your personal life is going to get better everything's going to get better and carrie what is the final takeaway you want fire nation to have before we say goodbye The final takeaway would just be whether you come out to Montana and do the Montana Mastermind Epic Camping Adventure or you just go into the wilderness on your own, I highly recommend integrating more nature in your life and really focusing on becoming a conscious consumer to support corporations that have sustainable supply chains so that we can protect our planet for future generations to enjoy.
21:39But regardless, just get outside and enjoy this beautiful planet. Fire Nation, you're the average of the five people you spend the most time with. You've been hanging out with CJ and JLD today, so keep up the heat. Head over to eofire.com, type Carrie in the search bar, and the show notes page will pop up with links to everything we talked about. And again, go check out that most recent episode we did as well about the top 10 alignments to achieve blissful balance. So we did a really cool deep dive on that. Carrie, thank you, brother, for sharing your truth, your knowledge, your value with Fire Nation today.
22:12For that, we salute you and we'll catch you on the flip side. Thanks, JLD. Peace and love, everyone. Hey, Fire Nation. Today's value bomb content was brought to you by Cary and Fire Nation. Successful entrepreneurs accomplish big goals. That's why I created the Freedom Journal to guide you in accomplishing your number one goal in 100 days. And we're talking step by step.
