28Who's ready to rock today, Fire Nation? apartments, and oh, so much more. In today's foundation, we'll talk about the biggest opportunities for entrepreneurs in today's world, working 90 minutes per day. How does somebody get to that level and oh, so much more. And a big thank you for sponsoring today's episode goes to Pat and our sponsors. If you've ever considered launching a show on YouTube, I may have the solution for you after launching a very successful show on YouTube in 2024, MicroStrategy Today. I've learned a lot on what it takes to create a successful show and have launched a one-on-one mentorship program called YouTube 100.

01If you want to jump on a call and learn more about this program, shoot me an email, john at eofire.com. This is the year of YouTube. Let's go. Pat, say what's up to Fire Nation and share something that you believe about becoming successful that most people disagree with. Most people would disagree that becoming successful is a simple process, but it really is a simple process. It's not easy, but it's simple. It's a sit in a corner and do what you're told process. And it's just a matter of finding the right people and the proven techniques to do it. But it is simple. Pat, I want to start with something that's near and dear to your heart.

45There's a lot of people in this world who are born with learning disabilities and they go on to achieve great success. Talk about your experience. You know, he's kind of read backwards. I didn't, I couldn't say my R's. I said, I'm like W's like watch your rabbit. It was just, you know, I don't know why I just did. And yeah, so I was just slow with that. I was putting special classes. Couldn't really tell you because back then they didn't have the labeling that they have now and they didn't have all the different words for everything. But it was a struggle, but it didn't bother me. I just figured that was that.

27It probably propelled me to work harder and propelled me to want to show people that I could. I wouldn't change a thing. Why would you? And Fire Nation, there's a book I love reading. It's called Anti-Fragile. And it just goes into such fantastic detail about how humans who actually are challenged early in life, who have struggles and obstacles, and they learn to react and they learn that failure is not final. They become anti-fragile. So that when they grow up and they hit the real world and those things happen, of course, they're not fragile people that just crumble. They're anti-fragile and they win.

04It's a great, fantastic book. So let's just talk about today, Pat. This is kind of out of left feel, but your fingers on the pulse, you're living, you're working, you're breathing. What's the biggest opportunity for entrepreneurs in today's world? The biggest opportunity would probably be, I think, to get involved in something STEM related with regards to disease control, cancer research, some of this technology that, you know, this Stargate thing that just got released by the administration. generation. Anything regarding living longer, easing pain, health-related, I think, is where a lot of the future money is going to flow.

48So Pat, you're the co-founder of Go Abundance, which is a tribe for healthy, wealthy, generous men who choose to lead epic lives. What was your decision to launch Go Abundance? Take us to that idea, that aha moment? So it was very organic. I started masterminding with two or three other real estate investors that I met at different wealth conferences, let's just say. And I became good friends with them. And we started sharing goals and sharing aspirations and keeping each other accountable. And then a few other people started hanging around us. And then one day we We decided to get together. We had about 18 people over my friend David's house.

36And then we said, well, let's try this again and invite everybody, invite three people. So then we had 38 people in Lake Tahoe. And it was a lot of work. So we said, hey, why don't we charge money for this? And lo and behold, we charge money for it. And here we are. We have close to 1 ,000 paying members now. and we're just a mastermind and we have doctors, lawyers, accountants, multiple different types of business owners, all that love to do the same things and talk about the same things. And it's really taken off and we're real proud of it. If you could state the top three benefits of being part of a mastermind, what would those three things be?

25and then break down each one a little bit more about why it's important. Well, the first is you find you're not alone. We always think we're the lone wolf. You know, we think we're in this journey. And generally what happens is people, after high school and college, their friend group dissipates. And so they don't really mastermind. They might talk to people at work, talk to people on the street, but they don't sit down with someone and say, hey, what's your net worth, right? What are you investing your extra cash in right now? How are you staying healthy? How are you having your marriage be on a scale of 1 to 10?

07They don't say that to people generally. So a mastermind kind of forces that conversation. A mastermind is a conscious question that's asked, and then everybody answers that question and it brings out so much. And I would say that's the first thing. And the second thing is a byproduct of that, which is it creates lifelong friends. It basically creates your pallbearers. We have a book called Tribe of Millionaires that we wrote, and basically it's the story of a guy that dies and he's estranged from his son, but then his son goes to the funeral after not seeing his dad for 15 years. And he notices that the pallbearers are all these rich, healthy, successful men.

56And he's like, how in the hell did that happen? And he goes on a journey to find out. And it was through a mastermind that his dad met all these people. And that's what happens. Through a mastermind, it will recreate friends, lifelong friends, that you would have had in high school or college but that you lost. But these people are going to be much more focused to your liking, much more focused so you don't feel like a lone wolf. Every conversation, I guess I would say the third one is every conversation that you have with your mastermind is going to give you multiple ways to see something different.

38Multiple opportunities to improve whatever you're talking about, whether it be health, marriage, or money. And you're just going to have a lot more opportunities, things like deals to put money into, things like exercise programs to do, things like books to read for your marriage. You're always going to leave with a thousand more ideas of self-improvement than you had before. Fire Nation, I can tell you from my first hand experience, the importance of masterminds. I mean, when I first wanted to launch a podcast, I found a mentor and this mentor was running a mastermind of nine other people that were about to create and launch their podcast.

22We were all different stages, barely. I mean, some of us were a few months ahead. Some of us for a few days ahead or behind, but we were all right there in the thick of it. And I'll tell you that weekly meeting, it just kept us focused. It kept us accountable. It kept us just wanting to learn and knowing like, you know, something that Pat mentioned earlier that we're not alone. We're not alone in this crazy venture back in 2012 of launching a podcast that nobody knew what that even was. And it's crazy, actually. I interviewed Pat 11 years ago on this show. And I mean, I would love to go back and see what we were talking about then, Pat.

53I'm sure it was great stuff. Yeah. But it's so cool. It always sounded, right? Yeah, exactly. But I'm sure it was cool stuff. And I'm sure we mentioned masterminds a lot then because it was so critical then. And it's so critical now. That doesn't change the accountability, the partnership, the support. and we have a lot to talk about around this topic when we get back from thanking our sponsors. EO Fire turns 13 years old this year and I'm still loving every minute, interviewing amazing guests, having complete location independence. What's not to love? If you're doing what you love, there's nothing better than being surrounded by people who love it as much as you.

26And if you own your own business, you want to hire employees who love what they do to boost the overall success of your business. Plus it makes a pretty great place to work. Let's talk YouTube. Have you ever considered launching a show on YouTube or do you currently have one that's struggling to gain traction? I may have the solution for you. After focusing on audio for 13 years, I launched my first YouTube show in late 2024 and have seen fantastic results. Over 12 ,000 subscribers. Every show getting well over 10 ,000 views, all 100 % organic, zero dollar spent on promotion or advertising.

41That is the beauty of YouTube. If you create the right content with the right cadence, YouTube will make sure it gets in front of the right people. My show is called MicroStrategy today and I'm having a blast creating content on a daily basis because it's on a topic I love about a company that I truly admire. What excites you? What fires you up? If you want to launch a show around that passion or improve your current one, I'm launching an exclusive coaching program called YouTube 100, where in 100 days, I will mentor you one-on-one, and together we will create a show that you love and that's successful.

14I hired the best mentors when I first started and have learned so much along the way. I'm ready to help you ignite your show and let YouTube do the heavy lifting of building a meaningful audience that will allow you to grow and monetize your show in ways you might not currently think possible. If you want to jump on a call and learn more about this program, shoot me an email, john at eofire.com. Put YouTube 100 in the subject line and we'll schedule a time to chat, j-o-h-n at eofire.com. this is the year of YouTube. Let's go. Pat, we're back. And one thing that I really like about you is you found a way to be very efficient.

53You don't like to waste time. I mean, I do all of my interviews for the show one day per week because that just keeps me focused. It's my Super Bowl day every single week. I just sit down, seven interviews, line them up, knock them out. You work 90 minutes per day. Talk about that and how you got to that level. First of all, I set it as a goal. I probably 15, 20 years ago, I set a goal that all I really wanted to do in life is maybe talk to a property manager, a business partner, a lawyer and an accountant. Right. And just maybe get some emails, look over some spreadsheets, look over some deals that might be opportunities for me and then close my computer and be done.

39and that's really what my life has become and I've kind of manifested it and you know it helps to have businesses where you have great business partners I have two main businesses DAPT acquisitions which is our apartment complex company we have about 2 ,000 apartments in Georgia that we manage or that we own let's say someone else manages them and then I have GoBundance which I have three other partners and they're very astute entrepreneurs that believe not in working on the business not working in the business but on the business and and uh they feel the same way i do whereas we would just kind of want to be on the outside and let the business run itself so um so yeah so i'm lucky in that aspect and and that's that's how it's come to fruition i just have you know, 90 minutes of emails or phone calls a day.

34And, and that's all I got to do. And that's how I wanted it. And I can't believe actually, I actually created that. So it's good to know. So listen, you have done a lot of things over the years, but like right now today, what's your favorite thing that you're working on? What's exciting you most about your day to day in the business world and the entrepreneurship field? Things are starting to open up with regards to residential real estate in regards to apartment buildings, which we're into. We're starting to see some short sales where people can't afford to hold on to these because they locked in the high interest rates and the rents don't cover their payments.

19And I'd say for about three years, it was a very, very dry field. So we're starting to see a lot of looseness come out of that. And that's enabled us to buy a couple properties as of recent. So I would say that's the biggest change. Fire Nation, that's one thing that I've really been trying to figure out this year and saying, hey, what am I excited about? Like what really gets me fired up? And I actually just launched a completely new project on YouTube that has nothing to do with Entrepreneurs on Fire, but I'm having a lot of fun doing it. And it's the first thing I do every single day now. And I have a lot of joy and I'm learning a lot through doing that because guess what?

59It's new. It's different. It's hard. It's challenging. And when you do something new and fun, man, you don't even know what's going to come from that. So to me, that's a really exciting opportunity. And Pat, you did say what you thought the biggest opportunity for entrepreneurs were before the break. As we end here, what is your biggest piece of advice? What is the one thing you really want to make sure that entrepreneurs, our listeners, Fire nation really gets from your genius, your experience, your knowledge, take it away. You got to kind of go where the money is flowing. And I think a lot of people, a lot of young people now kind of think, oh, I want to do what I want to do.

39I want to do something that's comfortable, that's something that interests me. Well, you know, I like watching true crime documentaries and listening to crime podcasts, but I would never want to be a cop, and I'm glad I never got into the field of being a cop or criminal justice or something because there's no money in it, and there's no freedom in it because you're working for the government, let's say. So don't think like that. Think like, where's the money? what's going to pay me the most money the fastest and then put your head down go work for somebody else like you did get a mentor learn the ropes and then start your own company or start your own business or partner with someone for a business so that you can be free so that you can be free and to do whatever you want and have that business It's not about what your interests are.

50You can still read books on your interests. 99.9 % of the time, your interests are not what are going to give you a successful life and a fulfilling life. Pat, if Fire Nation wants to connect with you, wants to learn more from what you have going on, give our listeners a call to action today. I would tell them to go to GoBundance.com or TribeOfMillionaires.com. They could get our free book, Tribe of Millionaires, and all they got to do is pay the shipping and they get the free book. And it kind of explains a little bit about what GoBundance is about. It tells the story of Ethan, who I told you about, who went to his father's funeral.

31And that's a really good book. And that's what I would do. And, you know, you could find me. I'm easy to find. H-I-B-A-M is my last name. Reach out to me and let's talk. Fire Nation you're the average of the five people you spend the most time with and you've been hanging out with PH and JLD today So keep up the heat and for links to everything we talked about visit eofire.com Just type pat in the search bar The show notes page will pop right up as well by the way as that episode we did 11 years ago So check that one out too Pat, thank you for sharing your truth your knowledge your value with fire nation for that We salute you and we will catch you on the flip side.
