In short
ESPN FC panel previews Arsenal’s title defense and discusses Premier League title contenders, Arsenal’s squad changes, Spurs’ reported £150m double swoop (Savinho and Omar Marmoush), plus a late segment on Jose Mourinho’s Real Madrid return and Barcelona’s striker situation.
Guests and backgrounds
Theo Walcott (former Arsenal player; won FA Cups with Mikel Arteta; discusses Arsenal tactics and squad fit). Craig Burley and Shaka Hislop and Kay (ESPN FC hosts/analysts; Burley returns from vacation).
Key claims
Arsenal are “clear favourites” and have improved via midfield quality and squad depth; the main weakness is the No. 9 role (questioning Havertz). Arsenal can “skin a cat several ways” physically and tactically. Chelsea and Liverpool are the closest challengers; City may struggle by their standards. Spurs’ Savinho/Marmoush spending is high-risk but could raise ambition and home pressure. Mourinho at Real Madrid will bring short-term success but long-term instability due to player power and dressing-room dynamics.
Notable examples
Arsenal opener vs newly promoted Coventry; Rice and Odegaard’s roles; Havertz as big-game option; Spurs home struggles; Mourinho documentary comparison to Chelsea-era Salah/De Bruyne; Real Madrid defensive concerns and new left-back Marco Cuerella; Barcelona lacking a striker after Lewandowski/Ferran Torres and Julian Alvarez “not happening.”

0:33Hello and welcome into the latest edition of ESPN FC. Kay, Maurice Shaka Hislop and Craig Burley is back from his vacation. By the way, every time I come back from vacation, I always seem to be on edge. Why might that be Craig? Is it just when you come back from vacation? Well, more on the edge. That's what I'm saying. I'm just pre-warning you that I could flip today. All right, let's get you caught up then, shall we? Premier League, just around the corner. Title odds are as follows. Arsenal, the clear favourites right now. The closest challengers are Manchester City and Liverpool behind them.
1:13Then you see Chelsea and Manchester United. Arsenal get their season opener underway against the newly promoted Coventry. Let's hear from Mikel Arteta speaking ahead of that game. I feel good, different, hopefully better, more excited than ever, hungry than ever. We need to breathe and we need to take this organically because this is going to be a long marathon as well. What we need to show is that desire and ambition to be better than what we were last season, a month ago or a week ago when we played Man City. We have the ability to improve, to evolve and that's what I sense and I feel around the club and especially around the players.
1:56We need to have a much better availability in the squad that we had last year for long periods of the season to be able to make those margins bigger. We're delighted to have Theo Walcott, former Arsenal player, joining the show now to talk more about Arsenal and his former teammate Mikel Arteta. Theo, welcome. Let's get started by talking about this fact that Arsenal are clear favourites right now. Is this a new era of dominance upon Arsenal? do you know what first of all good evening good afternoon whatever it is no to be honest I look at this Arsenal team right now and I just feel like there's just I mean Mikel Arteta is so intense and but he's got a squad who want to go on that journey with him but not just that he's really integrated a team and I think he's gone away from the individuals who've influenced Arsenal over the years and now they're in a they were in a transition and now they're just in a mood of dominating I really do when you add the likes of Gimarez now Konza Premier League experience as well it's not just players that he's plucked from abroad integrated into a winning Premier League team I mean Gimarez for me is outstanding we'll just take that load off Declan Rice and like Mikel was saying there having the players a bit more availability for them but I'm expecting a big season from Odegaard as well I think it was one of those you can kind of see him progressing in the World Cup he actually starts to get to his best So it's going to be exciting.
3:17But yeah, I can't see why they can't dominate, just like PSG have done in Europe. So Arsenal are here to stay, I believe. Did the best just get better with Guimaraes and with the changes that they've brought in, Craig? Possibly. And with the experience and with the success and with the knowledge that they can get over the line. They did get over the line, which was the big question, in the two or three previous seasons. When City were strong and Arsenal just sort of faltered right at the end. They didn't do that last year, so I think they are the strongest by far. I think there's a big question mark over City, which I think, I didn't see the community shield, but it was pretty emphatic in terms of scoreline.
3:57We don't know what Liverpool is going to be, we don't know what Chelsea is going to be, but we've got a good idea of what Arsenal are going to be. Just to go back to that point that Theo made about it being a team, something we talked about in the summer at the end of the season that when he was talking about Vinicius Jr. and one or two other superstars, one of the things I said was Arteta had gotten away from the Arsenal that had a Nozzo or a Sanchez or maybe somebody you would... I'm not trying to be unfair, but maybe somebody... Who? A walk-up. A walk-up. Just had to get it in there, I'm afraid.
4:38A passenger. Shall we say a... No, no. Somebody who you might think it's kind of about them and that's always a worry when a player comes in that's maybe got a big ego that's going to upset the dressing room and upset the work rate and the ethic of the team because Arsenal like most teams that are successful were built on good quality players structure good football which they didn't play as much as they could last year but we know they can and work rate and I think sometimes if you try and get away from that and bring in a so-called superstar and we're seeing these issues at Real Madrid and we're going to discuss that as we go along this season how Mourinho's going to cope with the egos and the superstars that I think it's a dangerous game if Arsenal had to go down that line again but I think it is all about making sure you bring in the player that fits the squad, that fits the dressing room, that fits the work rate and I think that's where they are even Jokeres last year, he wasn't brilliant but he was a grafter and he run the channels and he fought with centre-halves and it just allowed maybe some space for others.
5:48So I think looking at the rest, they've lost Tronsard who actually was a big player for them, you know, coming off the bench and filling in for people. But when you see what they've done, and Stevie always talks about this with Liverpool, when Liverpool in their heyday, it wasn't big changes all at once when Liverpool were successful in the 80s in particular. it was small incremental changes to try and build the squad and try and better the squad which I think Arsenal are doing so they're the only team for me that I think we're pretty positive we know what we're going to get it's the others of what we call the elite teams the teams that you think may challenge they're the ones we're looking at and thinking right what are they going to bring to the party this year and that's going to be the big question but I think Arteta has to be ready for that ready for the challenge but I'm not sure or any of these other teams are big enough and good enough to go a full season with this Arsenal team.
6:44Yeah, just those fine-tuning, those little tweaks. Absolutely, and adding quality and depth to a squad that are already Premier League champions. And listen, we were right to question Arsenal's mentality when they go, was it three times finishing second in a row? Could they get it over the line? Now that they have, I don't think there's any doubt, most importantly, in their minds, that they can see this job through. And while Craig's absolutely right, there are a lot of questions around just about all the usual suspects, certainly in terms of that list and as favourites to win the league. There are more answers for Arsenal in terms of you add quality in Gimaraes, who gives Arteta such option in that midfield.
7:27You lose Trossard, but you add Solis, who had an outstanding debut in the community shield. So it does not feel like Arsenal have dropped off in any single department. They've only gotten better while there are still, as I mentioned, so many questions about everybody else. Who are the closest challenges in your mind then, Theo, to Arsenal this season? Well, the unknown is always a scary place to be. When you look at someone like Xabi Alonso Chelsea, I'm expecting them to be a different animal. To be honest, when you look at the likes of the English Corps they're building with Cole Palmer and, of course, Morgan Rodgers, who we missed out on, sadly.
8:04I'm still kind of upset about that. However, I just feel, I think Chelsea will be in different Liverpool. I like Ere the way he plays. Can he get a Liverpool side to implement his style of play? I'm pretty sure he can because he's that good at man managing things. So I'm expecting them to be quite high and very different and the change with Mo Salah. But it's always a difficult scenario when you don't want to be that next guy. I remember when Arsene Wenger left Arsenal and Emery came in. You just don't want to be that next guy. Look at Man City, Muretska. They were disappointing. Kimminsfield, they really were.
8:35However, when you have Erling Haaland up front, just anything can happen. So for me, when I look at the closest that I can, you know, I think that will disrupt this Arsenal team themselves, really, because of the World Cup. I look at the World Cup players, the amount of players have gone, and I think that's going to be a big challenge for them to manage those guys. We've had a long season, I'm talking the likes of Declan Rice, so managing that, but like Mikel was saying, we had the depth now. But I'm expecting Chelsea and Liverpool to challenge a little bit, to be honest. I really do. I think they're my two, you know, outside.
9:05should we just say. If you could pick Theo between the Premier League and the Champions League for Arsenal what would you go for? This season I'll go Champions League why not? I think it's very difficult to win it back to back Man City have only done it you know recently Arsenal have never done it I believe so off the back of a World Cup yeah like I say but I think the Champions League is where they want to hit next and when you have a strong squad like they have now the options and Gimara's like we refer to endless occasions I think he's just got that nitty gritty side of things which they have got but he's just enhanced it and just his work rate, his levels are only going to influence his teammates so I want to see the Champions League, I think a lot of Arsenal fans do as well You know the thing is with that, if they could go back to back, it really would be a big statement, the Champions League is absolutely huge and it's great and they've never won it but if they were to go back to back in the Premier League it would be really testing the others to see how far they're willing to go the one thing I would say about this and I don't want to go overboard on Arsenal but they are the team to beat is that they can pretty much and people say well they did this last year they didn't play great football they can they can and they have they just decided last year they were going to do it a certain way and who are we to criticise because it worked but the one thing I would say about this Arsenal team which previous ones have had as well and certainly ones that I played against in the late 90s, early 2000s was they can outplay you but they can physically fight you as well.
10:36And I don't mean fisticuffs, I mean in terms of their stature. They've got big, strong, physical players that if you want to have that physicality, and we used to talk about Wenger's team going to Bolton and other places and it seemed he was always, or sometimes he was complaining and people got under his skin. And that's kind of normal. But this Arsenal side to me, if you want to have that physical game with them, they'll have it. and they'll give as good as they get. And if you want to have a football game with them, they can do it. That's why the Champions League final was as disappointing, and we discussed it at length.
11:12It was disappointing because there was more for Arsenal there, but they took a stance that they were going to play a certain way, and it didn't work. But they can skin a cat several ways, and I'm not sure the other teams in the Premier League that are the challengers can, and we're going to find out. So where would the weaknesses be? I think the only weakness in this squad is in that number nine position. I'm still not sold on Giocares. Havertz, who filled in and was actually preferred for a lot, particularly back end of last season, he's not a natural number nine. That being said, you get over the line last season in what I thought would have been more difficult because, again, they had not gotten over the line before that.
11:57You could make the argument that others were in better positions than they are now. So while that may be their only weakness, I don't think it's enough to cost them during the course of the season. What about you, Theo? Do you agree with what Xhaka is saying? Where do you see the weaknesses in this Arsenal side? Where do I see the weaknesses? I think it's, like I say, you can keep the players fit. I do feel that the number nine position is, on the left-hand side, I've felt like it's been a place which has always been up for grabs for many years, to be honest. and like when you look at a sacker you guarantee he's going to play on the right hand side but on the left hand side and up front you're never too sure I always felt like Havertz is the go-to guy for big games but yeah that would be the one place but it's just trying to locate and find those guys because they don't breed these number nines like they do back in the day now and the way he wants to play as well and I think he doesn't want to disrupt the team too much I think we look at Jokeres and I'm actually pleased how well he's done considering he comes out from a different league and when we've seen other players come from other leagues they struggle for periods of time.
12:59I'm expecting him to have, you know, a much bigger part in this year. But for his first season to win the Premier League, I think that's not too bad. It helped anyway, in some sense. And it kind of like, you know, the guys were saying there, it's that different side of it. He liked the fight. That's the way he plays. So certain games like a Coventry might suit his bill more so than a Man United away, for instance. Let's talk a little bit about Mikel Arteta because you actually played with him, Theo. You won the FA Cup with him twice. We see all these tactics from him, these psychological tactics and the games that he plays with his players.
13:29And we see the dressing room talks. What do you make of that? Did you see signs of that when he was a player? Yeah, no, I did. Do you know, he's not changed. He's not changed, I think, as well. He was a player who was always asking the questions with Arsene. Even when they were training, he would take himself away from the training session just to talk to Arsene. And he'd be picking his brain every minute. And he'd be really, you know, influenced a lot of players in a positive sense. but really he was so intense but at times he could switch off which was surprising to be honest because when you look at him you see him in the press conference you think he can't but he's got that side where he is really, he loves his players he loves his players and he's like that as a player he loved playing for each other he knew there was more out of the team as well that's why he cares so much I think that's the side of it which is different than some managers some managers at times don't care about the person as well as the player and I think he's got all the attributes that's why the players are playing for him.
14:28I think you see the superstars and they want to play for him, they want to perform to him because he's a human being and he gets to know them in a different way. So for me, he's not changed in that sense. I think that's helped his manageable career right now and I think it's certainly going to improve. But yeah, he's not changed. His hair's still the same. I've got grey and he's still the same. But I'm thinking, I really love the way he speaks and I think the players really, they're full in, they're all involved. and that you can never, you know, he always keeps you on your toes and he always keeps you guessing in a positive way and I think that's really important.
15:02Okay, let's get... I was going to say, Paul Lambert was a bit like that. I played with him. I played with Paul for many years with Celtic in Scotland. But he went to Germany, won the Champions League with Dortmund. He went from nowhere. He was at Motherwell. Got a trial. Hitzfeld gave him a chance. Before you know it, he's anchoring the midfield with Matthias Sammer and all these other players. He wins the Champions League. He comes back to Celtic. he's a different player, he's talking to the manager he's like a sounding board in a similar fashion, he went into management and had a lot of success very early on with back-to-back promotions at Norwich so sometimes you can look at these players and go yeah I can see that, but there's one or two others that do go into management that you look at and you think well he's not going to be a manager because he wasn't a very good trainer and he was lazy and he was always moaning and all that and sometimes it changes and something clicks but you generally and Theo knows better than any of us but you can sense with Arteta that he's been thinking about this for a long time, where some managers, some players just fall into it, a job comes up and whatever happens they apply and they take it and others they think about that path going forward and it just seems the way that Arteta speaks that he's been thinking about going into this stage of his career from a particularly young age and one of those as well, sorry guys Go on, go ahead, Theo.
16:22Sorry, as well, guys, even the fact, not just his players, his staff, his security, when you go into the training ground, it's so much positive energy straight away from you cross those gates. I'll take my kids there a few times, and they let him just run around like mad. I'm like, you don't realise how lucky you are running around the Arsenal training ground right now in the gym with Bikar Saka and Raya getting all these things signed. That's just not normal, but he's got that family side of him as well, which is really important. So it makes the players relaxed, but then when they want him to work, they will work.
16:50so I think he's got a good balance so I think that's helping the environment at the ground as well, looking after the actual you know, the team, which is the team that no one really sees, so I think it's really important to remember. Yeah, and always good to hear as well Hey Chicago, class it up with Crocs, you know back to school is coming in fast so why wait to find your new fave footwear step into a local Crocs store and step into your new look, try it Style it. Let's talk about Spurs because they're making headlines at the moment. And right now we are looking at what could be a double transfer swoop for Savino and Omar Mahmouche. And this would come to£150 million, the value of these players. That's what we've been talking about right now. This would be quite the statement of intent from Spurs.
18:09We've already brought in a number of players who've been spending this money. I don't know. I mean, they're spending a lot of money. That's what I mean. It's bonkers money. But if they want to spend it, they want to spend it. But the game's gone. I mean, that price has gone up for Savinho. For what they paid to Girona, I believe it. We watched him in La Liga. He was brilliant for Girona, but that was two or three years ago. He's skillful. He's quick, but he's lightweight. I mean, that's a lot of money for a player that... OK, City's not an easy... It's not an easy place to be in terms of... that you could be overawed because of the superstars that were there and the manager.
18:52But to pay more for a player that has really flattered to deceive, that's a bit of a risk. And Omar Mamouche, he's fast and he's quick and he scored goals in Germany, but he looks like he has a panic up when he gets near the box. I was talking to Nadam about this. I don't want to stick Nadam in the you-know-what because he's not here. But I was talking to Nadam, I knew about it, at Wembley and he said the thinking inside City is, or was, is that in that final third, in that crux moment, on the big occasion, that Mermouche will light you down. Not that he's a bad player, not that Savinho's a bad player, but Tottenham needs solidity.
19:34And listen, if you're getting those players for not a lot of money, I'm okay with that, because that's beefing up your squad. And there's never been a bigger time you need a squad. but 150 million or thereabouts on these two I mean that's Ange Postacoglu must be he couldn't get anything out of Daniel Levy right at a time when they were playing some really good stuff and Roberto De Zerbi's gone in there and we know he bangs the table like Antonio Conte and we know he's a hothead and we know he's demanding but we also know he's a very good coach and they're giving him a lot of money to spend. And all this money to me puts more pressure on them.
20:18But all I'm saying is that's a lot for two players that really were spent a lot of time on the bench at Manchester City. It is quite the level of financial backing, isn't it, Theo? Are you as surprised as Craig to hear these figures for these players? I think when you look at these guys who have obviously been at the Champions, it's always going to be enhanced at the price tag, of course. but I think they're just looking at these kind of players that are going to just excite in some ways but not really be spectacular. I think it's one of those, you look at where Tottenham finished, yes, they spent a lot of money.
20:49I like the midfield. I think the midfield's where Deserby really is going to focus on and where they're going to really be strong. But they need runners, they need people who are going to work hard who have been in the team, who at times they need to do more because of course being on the bench for those periods of time and playing a bit part. But they're going to be the main guys now, so that's a different kind of mindset for these guys going to a club. We've been a Man City, now we're the main guys. They never felt like the main guys in Man City. So we might see a different kind of breed of animals with these two, to be honest.
21:22I think that's what Tottenham need. Look, it can't get any worse, can it, to be fair? But when you spend, you know, Tonali, which I was surprised with them getting someone like that. Again, another player I would see in an Arsenal show, We've got the better one, actually, to be honest. But I think it's exciting for Tottenham this year. I think it's... Why not? They have to give it a go. They've got the best stadium, and I'm saying it, they have. They've got the best stadium in world football, I believe, being there and playing there and scoring there, which is nice. And I think the fans want to see a team actually winning at home.
21:54They've not won, I think. I think they've won two games in the space of a few years at home. That's not good enough. So, for me, this team, the fans, like, you know, the guys in there with the pressure, yes but I think these two could really help with that pressure side of things they're going to have to but they're the main guys now if they're going to make this move because it's a big one for them both. I mean I like what the Tottenham are doing I'm just questioning if they want to spend that kind of money I'm actually I would be quite excited if it was a Tottenham fan but let's be honest they were absolutely crap last year for two years in the league I'll say it for you don't worry I mean they were utterly abysmal and it wasn't just the football the mentality and if Tudor had stayed and we said this those players really had never expected to be in that scenario that they found themselves in and I was down there Shaka I think you've been down there you battled out at one point Pompey I was down there with Derby County and it's an absolutely horrible place to be you're looking at every fixture you're looking at where the point's coming from you're looking around the dressing room who's going to help me who's going to say my calves a bit tight who's going to roll their sleeves up you're in that kind of scenario and Tottenham really but for De Zerbe they would have probably gone down Theo's right, the stadium is fantastic they've spent money now they've backed a coach and maybe it is with Savinho and Mermush maybe it is getting away from a Pep Guardiola that knew he was leaving that knew Arsenal were better than them that knew that his squad had deficiencies last year.
23:33And you could sense that within the Spanish manager and maybe his sort of overbearing personality. And you were seeing some of those clips and those clips of Ria Merz from the Kyle Walker and other stuff where he was getting frustrated in the dressing room. Maybe that did sort of weigh on some of the players that we would maybe describe as a little bit weaker that don't have that personality to stand up to your manager. and maybe it is Mermush and Savinho and one or two other players getting away from certain scenarios and being better in a different environment that could be the case and I hope it is for Tottenham but it's an awful lot of money to spend on players that really were kind of bit part at the clubs if they flourish that's fine but it's certainly it's not without a risk element to it but if I was a Tottenham fan you know Kulisevsky coming back he was out almost all of last year Romero's Romero gone or he's going but he's been you know he's a very good player but you just don't know from one day to the next what he charges about like a bull in a china shop Van de Ven signed a new deal he's happy they've made some other sign-ins they've lost Jed Spence who I think who is a very good player can play in several positions he showed that at the World Cup he's very quick so they have lost some players but the sign-ins they've made in the most part are saying we want to be somewhere better than where we've been in recent years.
25:00And I think by spending that kind of money, there is a pressure on De Zerbe not to win the league. That's not going to happen for a long time. As Arsenal showed, it takes a while. But there's going to be a pressure to be in amongst the others that are spending similar types of money. And that's going to be a really interesting watch in the Premier League next year, rather than what we had to endure watching Spurs last season. I don't think there's any question that Spurs are better than they were last season. And you'll see how much better. I think they're better than they were last season just by having De Zerbe alone.
25:33Let's remember where they finished last season, they just avoided relegation. So by having De Zerbe, by these signings, if I'm a Spurs fan, I'm excited about the season to come in a way that I don't think Spurs fans have been able to be for quite some time. There are a couple of things to these signings. And Craig's right. Every time a signing is announced, I find myself saying I'm not going to comment on the transfer market. The money that's being paid is absolutely ridiculous. $150 million for these two, on the face of it, is really a lot of money kind of given those numbers. I want to say those numbers are based on Savino at Girona and Mahmoud at Eintracht Frankfurt, as opposed to the two players we've seen at Manchester City.
26:18That being said, I saw some reporting saying that the Savino deals were valued somewhere around 95 and then Mamouche making up the balance on a player that City bought from themselves. Remember, the same ownership group at Girona for a third of that, which, again, has me questioning a whole lot about how these deals are structured and what happens. But if Spurs are prepared to pay the 150 for the two, fair enough. while you could question their value given what we've seen particularly over the last season for Savino I don't think there's any question they're better than what Spurs have in their dressing room right now and makes them a better team for it that's an ambition that we've not seen from Spurs particularly under Daniel Levy for quite some time and that alone, showing the shackles are off for me is a good place for Spurs to be I was watching a documentary on the flight back from the UK last night, it was the Mourinho documentary right, yes I was watching it I don't know why I was watching it it's good isn't it it's good isn't it yeah I mean he's a very interesting character I just tend not to watch football stuff but I thought well I had it on my phone so I watched it and there's two players popped up in it and I'm not comparing Omar Mamouche and Savinho to these players but there was two players popped up in the documentary in the background in Mourinho's time at Chelsea.
27:47And it's very akin to what we're talking about was Mo Salah and Kevin De Bruyne, who seemed to get a little bit swallowed by West London and maybe Mourinho and Chelsea and all that, price tags and blah, blah, blah. And they went off in their separate directions and came back to the Premier League as different players. Now, those two players are a different level. But when they were at Chelsea together, it was a struggle. When Kevin De Bruyne signed for Man City, there was people in England saying, this is bonkers. Was it£40 million? I can't remember. When they signed for Manchester City, there was people saying, this is bonkers.
28:29He did nothing at Chelsea, which is pretty correct. But it is a sign that because you're struggling at one club, it doesn't mean you can't get your career going somewhere else. and those two, albeit they turned into be superstars, those two are a great case in point. If it's not working for you at one place, you can go away and you can make it happen somewhere else. OK, let's get to our Premier League predictions. You don't have to worry about this one, Craig. No, because I told the producer to get stuffed. We'll start with you, Shekha. Where does Spurs feature in your predictions? First, I'm like just about everybody on the planet, think Arsenal are going to win the league.
29:12I'm expecting a big season for Liverpool under new management. No more Salah, so you build the team differently as a result. I think Liverpool will be Arsenal's closest contenders. How close? I'm not so sure. Chelsea with no European football and a very good manager in Xabi Alonso. Are you going to go through every team here? Yeah, I will. I'll go and get Kovac if you're going to do that. I'll get two. Three. I think City will struggle by their standards. You're taking so long, they've taken the graphic down. But I remember once, I think Spurs will be good. Manchester United... You've forgotten.
29:50No, no. Manu at six. You're not high on them. They're not higher for you. No. Man United hates her. No, I thought United were very good last season, back in the last season in particular, with no European football. But let's remember how much they struggled, albeit under a different manager, in the first half of the season. I just don't think they'll be that much better or good enough to get any higher. Bakayo Saka, that's an interesting one. I mean, I think he's an absolutely terrific player. Had his injury problems last year, looked a bit tired, wasn't a great World Cup for him, hasn't had much rest.
30:21He's another one of those players that Theo talked about. Hasn't had much rest. Can he, without that rest, can he somehow pick himself up and be that player again? I think he came into the World Cup injured, didn't feature an awful lot. I think this is a big season for Bakayo Saka. I'm backing Bakayo Saka to be fit throughout and be outstanding. It's not all the problems. It is a big season for them because Arsenal have, I think for a lot of players at Arsenal, it's a big season for them because they've built their squad that's saying, if you're not playing well, come and sit on the bench next to me because we have players, there's maybe two or three, maybe three or four, maybe a bit more than that, that are pretty much guaranteed and then the rest of the players at Arsenal, a lot of them, you could say, if your jogger is not playing well then Havertz is in and vice versa and the same in the way positions and maybe the same in the full-back positions.
31:15So, yeah. Theo, we made you do your predictions and you did file them. Let's see them and you can talk us through yours. Let's go. Good picture there. Look at that baby face. Wow. Yeah, so, I mean, very similar in some ways that I've not put Tottenham. I'm not, I just think for me, they're still going to be, you know, top 10 but not, you know, enough to break this top six, to be fair. I'd look at Aston Villa. I know they've lost a lot of players, but I just, the fact the managers there, I think is the biggest factor for me. That's why they're going to stay there. Manchester City, I just feel the transition side of things.

31:47Like I said before, you just don't want to be that guy. Chelsea, I think it'll be a lot tighter, though. That's the thing. I don't think it'll be as many points, you know, gap between a lot of these teams, to be honest. Manchester United, I think, having Carrick for the full season, I think is going to be a test in itself and having the likes of Rashford there, I think, you know, exceptional players who can get the right one. And then players, yeah, top goal scorer, but Harlan's hard to look past him, to be honest. And Cole Palmer, my player of the season, I'd love to say for Kai a second, but I just have an experience not going to the World Cup and then playing probably one of my best seasons after a World Cup because I was that fire, that anger, just to show people what I wanted to do.
32:27I think Cole Palmer is going to be very similar in that sense. And having someone like Xabi Alonso who would want to get the best out of those players that are the game changers, the players that are going to affect the games in a positive manner, I think it's going to really kind of play for him because he wanted to get the best players, the ball in the best positions. I think Cole Palmer, having Xavi Alonso's experience, will help him with that. So I've gone for him for my player of the season. I love it. Is it really like that with the chip on your shoulder then, Theo, that you can go on and have that season that could make you the player of the season?
32:55Do you know what it is? It's at times you might be, the reason why you didn't go, for instance, you might have did the safe pass or did the safe thing and not the things that you're born to do. For me, at times, maybe it was overthinking things. And I just thought, no, let's just let the handbrake off and see what happens. And it's like you're back at playing football with your mates at school again. And it felt like that for me, going into that season. And I had a good one that year. So I think something different with Cole this year. I'm expecting big things. So I hope he does, because I think it was really wrong for him not to be in the World Cup squad.
33:35He should have been there for him, in my eyes, to be fair. And you think about Xabi Alonso's time at Leverkusen and how he didn't just build the team all around Florian Vels because there was others. There was Granit Xhaka and several other components. But he certainly worked his team around him a little bit as the star man, as the playmaker. And we may see something similar with Cole Palmer. There are other players at Chelsea, of course. But when he was doing... And he didn't have a great season, like Phil Foden, who didn't go to the World Cup. And we can debate those things all day and every day.
34:14And I think the more we see what happened with Thomas Tuchel's side, you could say one of them at least should have been in that team to make a difference. But Cole Palmer that year in particular, when he just... Every time he went on the field, his, not in an arrogant way, but his chest was out and he was doing stuff that you went, wow, what a pass. How did he spot that? How did he see that? And if he can get back to that, he can be a, and there's a lot, it's always a difficult question, you know, Phil Foden's the same. An unbelievable talent. Can Phil Foden sign a new contract? Can he get back to being this player of, I don't know, three years ago when he was probably one of the first in the Man City team sheet?
35:01and I'm being serious about that. He was such a consistently terrific player and somewhere along the line, for whatever reasons, two or three of these players, these playmakers, have sort of lost their way a little bit and it'll be interesting to see, particularly with a changing manager at both those clubs I'm talking about, whether these guys can get back to what they were and if they do, their teams have a really good chance of being in the mix but they need those big players, those big game changes, which Alonso had at Leverkusen. All those games that were tight, Wirtz would do something a little bit special, which we haven't seen at Liverpool.
35:40And again, changing manager for him there, that might be the same. So Cole Palmer's another one that's going to be an interesting one. We don't know. We know Haaland will score goals. There's a lot of stuff we know about the Premier League. We don't know, with the new managers and some of these playmakers that had poor seasons, what version of them we're going to get when a new season starts. And that's going to make it pretty exciting, I think. What we do know is that it's past Theo's bedtime and we're going to let him go. What is it? 10.30? Yeah, he said 10.30. Hey, when the kids get up early, I'm telling you, it's 10.30.
36:16Now, I thought the only one that moaned about late times in this show was Frank Leboeuf in France. Theo, thank you so much for being with us. 37:40Consult a healthcare professional if symptoms persist. I've been away in holiday for two weeks. Here's some of the headlines. I've been watching Mourinho. Hey, that's correct. He says, I am here to implement a work culture. That's him talking about what he's bringing to Real Madrid this time around. And Dan Thomas and Alejandro Moreno are in Barcelona right now. I thought you said with technical problems. And I'll be honest with you, I'm all right with that. We've got Barcelona and Real Madrid's game coming up this weekend. Hey, shut up, Burley. Every time I've ever talked to you about a football documentary, it's like, oh, sat in your pants in your basement watching football.
38:18You sad man. and there's you on a plane watching Jose Mourinho. You have changed. Well, I tell you what, this is a world you'll not know, this world, it's called preparation. We have La Liga, as you well know, and as part of my preparation about how he's going to handle Real Madrid, I was looking back about the fights and stuff. He said something interesting, actually. One of the interesting things he said, and it was a bit hypocritical, he said, I'm not interested in what people think of me. I like my privacy and all that. whilst he sat doing a documentary. But yeah, I thought it was... It's a little insight into what the challenge is...
38:55With a big picture of himself over the fireplace. Yeah, I think he liked that documentary. Listen, I don't want to go into a documentary, but it is an insight into... He had some fights when he first went in, when he went into Real Madrid, and it feels, with what we've witnessed in the last year or two, with the power within the dressing room, that that could be a similar scenario that he's walking into from however many years ago it was. Okay, I'm done. Okay, and we will see. So, Dan, something that I knew. That's a lovely segue, lovely segue, yep. Talking about preparation is that you went a day ahead of LA to Spain.
39:31You had to go to your pub. We didn't know why that was because, you know, you talk about preparation, but then yesterday you were sending me photographs. You're in the swimming pool with one of our old work colleagues. You're having a lot of fun. That didn't quite look like the day ahead preparation that would have been needed. or warranted to go ahead of LA.
39:51So let's talk about what Craig was talking about. Jose Mourinho left, of course, Real Madrid all those years ago with a mutual agreement. I suppose the obvious question is, when we're stood here this time next year, looking ahead to the start of the new season, will Jose Mourinho be in charge of Real Madrid? Well, he's got a new liver. He'll be around. Cut his mic, please. Look, I think this whole Jose Mourinho thing is going to be, I believe, in the short term, spectacular success. Okay. Short term. Long term, spectacular disaster. I don't think there's middle of the road here for Real Madrid and Jose Mourinho.
40:30I don't believe in this whole thing in which he doesn't want the attention, that he just wants to work with this team, that he doesn't want the media, he doesn't want this, that, or the other. No, no. You come back to Real Madrid, you're going to have all the attention and you're going to have all the media and all the expectations that come with it. And while I do believe that he's supposed to bring this culture of work to this team, he's also going to have to massage some of these players that have been difficult to deal with. And in the short term, I think these players will listen. Vinny Jr.
40:57will listen. Kylian Mbappe will listen. These guys will listen in the short term. But what about when this team maybe goes on a bad run? What about when he starts making changes? What about when one of these guys doesn't get his way? What happens then? That's when we need to see what goes on with Jose Mourinho and Real Madrid. And let's not forget, that's exactly what happened with Xavi Alonso. He had the best start ever that Real Madrid managers had, and then it just all went to pieces very, very quickly. Jose Mourinho has more experience to deal with that, but will he be able to get them across the line?
41:27Basically, will he be able to deliver a trophy? Well, and here's the thing. In you deciding that Xavi Alonso was going to walk out the door, you gave the power to Florentino Perez, you gave the power to the players. But the players did not respond with that power. Arbeloa was essentially just a figurehead. He was just there, a cardboard figure. And so these guys did not respond. So now, as Rolentino Perez, you say, OK, well, we gave the power to the players. That didn't work. Now we're going to give the power to Jose Mourinho. Is that going to work? Well, we don't know because while you're giving the power to Jose Mourinho, you're also extending Vinny Jr.'s contract.
42:04So you're scratching his back. you're taking care of him so that he's not complaining about the fact that he's not making the same as Kylian Mbappe or doesn't have the same numbers as Kylian Mbappe. If Kylian Mbappe is getting that, then I should get this. So I think there's a decision to be made here that if indeed you're going to lean on Jose Mourinho, then lean on Jose Mourinho and allow him to coach the team. If he does that and the players respond, and these are big ifs, then Real Madrid should have a good season. I just don't think that in the long term this is going to work. How's he going to get the best out of Vinny?
42:32That seems to be the predicament. Arbeloa. Arbeloa said he's the greatest ever. If anything went wrong, it's my fault. Xavi Alonso obviously dropped him. Is there a medium there? Or because of the experience that Mourinho has, can he get a tune out of him long term? Well, the relationship with Kylian Mbappe on the field is going to be key to the success of Vinny Jr. The best of Vinny Jr. last season was, and this is not a coincidence, when Kylian Mbappe was missing. And that's when Vinny felt like, well, I'm the guy, so lean on me and I'll be the one to deliver results for us. What you have to figure out is how does that happen with both of them on the field.
43:10And I think, and I don't think this is something that you can underestimate, the fact that you've taken care of Vini's contract and now he feels like he is at the same level with Kylian Mbappe, I think makes a difference here. And I think it makes a difference on the field. And them working together make Real Madrid a whole lot better. Are they going to be able to work together? That's a big question that I don't think, Not even Jose Mourinho has an answer for that just yet. Defensively, they looked vulnerable last year. They looked vulnerable for a while. Have they addressed that in your opinion?
43:41Canate coming in, Dunfrees as well? More importantly, Marco Curella has come in. And I think that, for me, is key, not just in the defending part of the game, but in the attitude part of the game. At times, Real Madrid last season were so soft defensively, and part of that was how soft they were down that left-hand side. And I think Marco Curella addresses that. It also addresses the fact that Marco Curella can get up and down the left-hand side, which then forces Vinny Jr. to go and play more in a central position with Kylian Mbappe and go and combine. And if indeed Vinny Jr. stays on the left-hand side, Marco Curella can also work the inside channel.
44:14I think the presence of Marco Curella is going to make a big difference for this team down the left-hand side and the back line. Now, we're in Barcelona because Barcelona are going to play on Sunday in Alicante, but Espanyol are playing Real Madrid on the Saturday, and they're in Barcelona. So that's why we're here for that game, which you can see live across the ESPN networks. And then, as we mentioned, 24 hours late. We're not going back to them yet. Don't cut the camera. Nobody cares why you're in Barcelona. No, shut up. Why did you say? I'm just explaining it. Because then 24... Why did you say?
44:46Did Arvolo Arvolo actually say that? I don't know if you misspoke. Did he say that Vinicius Junior was the greatest ever?
44:56Yes, continuously. He continuously said lovely things about Vinny to try and butter him up to get the best out of him, but it didn't work. Anyway, Ali, don't let him in again. Barcelona playing 24 hours later. They don't have anyone to score goals today at the moment. That's a problem. That is cutting-edge analysis, Dan, and I appreciate it that you brought that to the conversation. Yeah, and it doesn't... I think it was in yesterday's show in which they had a whole list of some of the candidates for Barcelona, And I'm thinking, yeah, they're probably better off for whatever they have in the team right now.
45:29The thing is that you've played your cards with this whole Julian Alvarez situation, and it doesn't seem like that's going to work out. And so how do you go about addressing the absence of all the goals that have left the club with Robert Lewandowski and Ferran Torres? Again, big question for Barcelona. It feels like it's going to be by committee, that they're going to be playing somebody in that position that actually doesn't feel all that comfortable playing in that position, or it's not their best position. I don't know that that's how you go about winning big things. If you're Barcelona, I think you do need the presence of a striker.
45:57But right now, Julián Alvarez is not happening, and so I don't think it should be surprising that it feels like poor planning on Barcelona's part. Who wins La Liga? I'm still going to give it to Barcelona because they're the defending champions, and it is a big question as to what Jose Mourinho and this experiment is going to look like at Real Madrid. the gap between Barcelona and Real Madrid last year was significant in all sorts of in level of play, in productivity, defensively everything that you can ask for I thought Barcelona were better than Real Madrid so Real Madrid is going to have to come up a whole lot and Barcelona is going to drop down a whole lot in order for them to meet in the middle and make this thing competitive I think it will be more competitive than last year but I also do think that the signing of Rodri frees up the rest of the midfield for Barcelona to go and join in the attack.
46:49And the signing of Rodri for Barcelona makes as much a difference for Barcelona as it does having him not sign with Real Madrid because there's still a hole in the midfield, a hole that Tony Cruz hole that people were talking about all the last season, that's still there. That's still there. That hasn't disappeared. And so therefore, it feels as if Barcelona still being the defending champions, I'm going to give them the nod. So Barcelona first, Real Madrid second. Ali, thank you very much. I believe Shaq had Manchester United second after Community Shield, they've now fallen to sixth in his predictions.
47:18I wonder what's happened over the last few days. As soon as you answer what you've been doing for the last 24 hours, I'll answer that question, Dan. I'll tell you what, though. I'll tell you what, though. If you're a bar owner in Barcelona, you're not going to get rich with these two in town, are you? It's just not happening. You've got Shirley Temple on one side. We had a beautiful dinner, Dan.
47:46Yes, Craig? No, no. I'll be honest. Listen, first day back. I've seen enough of you two. First day back. You can go now. Come on. Let's just cut the camera and let them go. Guys, thank you. You can see a lot more of Dan Murray this weekend. Espanol against Real Madrid and Elche taking on Barcelona. They will be present at both of those games. And you can see them across the network from 3pm Eastern, including ABC. OK, let's get to this FA statement on a player being retroactively charged in the Championship. West Bromwich Albion's owner Hegebo has been given a two-match ban for successful deception of a match official during their EFL Championship match against Norwich City on Saturday.
48:31It was alleged that the player acted in an improper manner in or around the 75th minute of the match whereby he successfully deceived a match official by handling the ball in a direct and successful attempt to score a goal. Now, this is a ruling that is the first of its kind, and this is the goal.
48:53Well, they don't have VAR, right? And the clubs are voted against at the championship. They don't want it. They don't want it. So they're taking a different route. So the goal stands. So you're never going to correct the process unless you have VAR. And their argument is that even with VAR, it's spoiling it. And we could debate that. And so the Championship don't want it. I was just thinking when I saw that description there, we've been doing that for years, haven't we, in this job? Successful deception. But yeah, no VAR. And so, yeah, it's a kind of, my mic's gone, it's a kind of new one. but that's what it's saying successful deception so you'll never get the points back but you'll get a punishment of some sort that's their way of saying we're going to do it this way because we don't want the technology but a two match ban as your punishment for this deception i have no issue quickly shack it does and keeper may have gotten a slight touch to it as well which could be an an argument to this, but I don't think there's any intention, or there's any question around his intention to have his arm up, to get his arm in the way.
50:08And listen, this is the opening goal, West Brom go on and win 2-1. So they get the three points, and Norwich feel hard done by. I have no problem with the two-match ban. You want it to be a deterrent. And I think two matches, in this instance, in this way is as much a deterrent as any. I'm absolutely fine with it. And I can see why the Championship don't... Ironically, they have it in the playoff final. Remember, they have it in the semis. I don't know, but they certainly have it in the final. And there's an argument here. Why are you not having it the rest of the time you have it in the final?
50:47Well, it's the showcase game, so we should have it, blah, blah, blah. So there's a big debate there, but they don't want it like a lot of countries because, and I don't want to go down this VAR discussion too much, but the game is eating itself at the moment with the VAR and all the other stuff. It is. It doesn't know what way it's going to go. It said it's not going to re-referee, but it is. And it's getting worse. And some of the decisions that are coming along, even with the technology, are ridiculous. And what they're saying in England, certainly in the Championship, and I'm sure in other countries, is, look, we know there's going to be mistakes, We know there's going to be honest mistakes, but we will accept those honest mistakes for the enjoyment of the game.
51:33Not to sit there in a stadium, which most of them in the Championship are not. They can't have it because of the size of the stadiums and teams come up from League One. The fans just don't want to be stood there waiting three and four minutes for some ridiculous re-refereeing of a game. And so I can get that. if you were to say to me tomorrow there's no VR in the Premier League or La Liga next year I'd say I'm alright with that and I was a big proponent of VR but let me ask this isn't this kind of punishment handed down isn't that re-referring of the game? we're not sitting through it for four minutes while they look at 150 angles we're not sitting through it but it is re-referring the game well you've got to do something really you have to Are we talking about the other rule changes?
52:23I don't know if we are wasting time. I thought the wasting time at the World Cup, by the way, was pretty good. Throw-ins, goal kicks, keepers having to get rid of it. I like some of these nuances that they're trying to change to get rid of the time-wasting, the subs coming off the field and all this. But you do have to look at certain aspects of the game as the game moves forward that will be re-referring to an extent. The problem is with the technology, we are pushing the boundaries of how far that's going to go. There is always real changes. There is always nuances, like the goalkeeper picking the ball up, it changed.
53:00Like the passing the ball out from the goal kicks in the six-yard box, it changed. So you're always having to evolve. And I don't mind this. And I've got no problem with the championships. Do you know what? We don't want the ridicule of VAR. we will take our chances with the regular referee and we'll accept an honest mistake if that's the case. Albeit, I'm sure, if it's against Middlesbrough or anybody else, or your club, then people will mourn. But that's the very nature of people. OK. Well, Gavin Jewells... 54:49ESPN FC is done right now, but Extra Time is on the way. These two guys staying late to answer. Talking nonsense on two platforms tonight. Stick around, Extra Time on the way right now. Welcome into the latest edition of Extra Time. Craig Burley is back from his vacation, raring to go. if you've got any questions about the Mourinho documentary got me through a six hour forty flight and it was three hours out, an hour in the episode yeah if I'm not like, I wasn't doing cartwheels up and down the aisle about it but it was some interesting stuff will he watch it again? I wouldn't watch it again next flight, next flight you've got to see what he missed alright, will it be a weird What set me off was on the flight, because I got the old tinternet, came up on the flight, so I thought, well, you know.
55:46I want to hear what sets you off. I've never seen anything set you off. I got a text message from one of the producers, who's sitting back there tonight. And when I go on holiday, I switch off, right, completely. So no checking, I don't really know, community share, I didn't watch anything, transfer, nothing. Right, so he gets on the flight. We're on at five tomorrow, alright, that's all I need to know. And then, a minute later, another text comes through. top six relegation player of the year top scorer I mean who's got the brains at this place? You didn't have an opinion who might win the league next year?
56:40How can I have I like to have an informed opinion sometimes so how can I have an opinion that's not ridiculed by you lot if I haven't seen anything? So where's the thinking? So now that you've caught up, will you be ready to... Well, I haven't cut off, that's the problem, I haven't cut off. How long can we wait before we get your predictions? We look forward to them. No, we don't. Season starts this weekend. Tomorrow, tomorrow. It's stuff like that. Tomorrow's your day, Craig. I honestly swear to God, I almost opened the plane door and threw myself out. That's how angry I was. For the Premier League predictions.
57:18I'm glad that you had the Mourinho documentary too. It was for the absurdity of the question. Okay. OK, well, I'm glad you enjoyed the documentary. I want to calm down. OK, guys. Once you climb back in the plane.
57:35Kids flying out. If you don't have your seatbelt on, you're right. Look what you've done, ESPN FC producers. OK, will it be a weird dynamic with Rodri coming in as an established leader, having recently captained several Barcelona players, including three of their captains, but needing to take a back seat in team leadership? What? Yeah, that's a lot of words Nothing's going to be weird about Rodri or Ivan at Barcelona On any level You have a player of his quality coming into any club You welcome him Regardless of who you are, how big that club is Rodri, other than his any question Is one of the best in the world in his position Just come off an incredible summer You welcome him and his leadership Regardless of who you are, what your role is Why will Rodri be taking a back seat in team leadership?
58:29He's been brought in for his leadership qualities, his play, his experience. So no, he wouldn't... Nothing. I mean, you know, this is how silly this is. You just don't, you know, you don't go to a club, if you're an experienced player, and sit back and the manager says, you're quite... I'm sure I want to take the back seat. I paid all that money for you not to take the back seat. so that's not going to happen OK, Craig which team will have the biggest fall in the league table this year compared to last? Don't be asking Craig he'll be open he'll be open at the studio doors in a minute Quick, get me a play Newcastle due to the multiple big names lost and the manager Osundaland who now have to manage European football and whose stats last year suggested they should have finished lower Thanks, Sunderland I think that was overachieving certainly was overachieving and we've seen that I can't remember off the top of my head we've seen that in the odd occasion with certain clubs that come up that it's such many years ago yeah my uncle was the manager they finished fifth and then they sold players but they didn't buy the right players Sheffield United another one came up looked really good and then the second season was I think they may have got relegated or certainly it was more tougher it was tougher for them so you do see this you do see this happening where teams come up.
59:51They're a surprise element. They get the bit between their teeth. They get a bit of confidence. They were very physical. They worked hard. They pressed teams. It was not an easy place to go. I was going to say Roker Park. It's not. It's a stadium of light. But the second season is always, usually, usually always tougher. So I think Sunderland. OK. Should Chelsea look to replace Sanchez with Martinez now that Villa have signed Suzuki? I would. If there's a possibility for Chelsea to get Martinez, absolutely. I think that has always been a question of a position. And I've said this, you know, Sanchez kind of leaves his mark on the game in two different ways.
1:00:40I think Emi Martinez has shown himself to be one of the best goalkeepers in the world still and would be an upgrade on Sanchez I'd go for him all day every day While watching the Orlando Chicago Fire match last night you can noticeably hear the thunder in the background during the telecast Did you ever play in a match where you saw lightning in the distance and you could hear the thunder while playing? I'm trying to remember the one thing I will say in the US they don't mess around with that. Lightning anywhere around games. It's much more prevalent over here. Yeah. Obviously we do get it in the UK but not with the regularity.
1:01:21Yeah. Yeah so I mean heavy rain yes. Heavy rain yes. What all these games I've played in weather-wise was second game of the season 2007 with FC Dallas. So our first game of the season we go and we play out in LA. Weather's beautiful. We were out on the beach after warming down, having a good old time. Second game of the season in New York, so we fly straight from LA to New York. And Norrista blows in. They're having a good time. Yeah, under the weapons. No, no, it's very professional here, Craig. Very professional. And Norrista blows in in New York. Two players have to come off, have to get substituted at halftime for hypothermia.
1:02:00It was freezing cold. So we just come from LA into New York in this thing, and it was unbearable. Two players had to be substituted. Wow, that's crazy. Yeah, I've been at games where you have to, you sit as a spectator here in the US and then you just sat waiting until the world. Well, I did a commentary with John Champion in 2012 in Donetsk. We were working for ITV in England and I think it was France, Ukraine, France and the game had to be stopped for about 45 minutes because of those conditions. You just can't take any chances. I don't remember that happening, apart from heavy rain, so we never had to get off a field.
1:02:44But I'm sure if you play in the US here, then you probably will have had it. At some point. Hushaka, when you go home to TNT on holiday, do you take your Ferrari with you or do you just keep on there? I've never owned a Ferrari. Let me just say that, despite what Sean Robson keeps saying. I go home and relax. Yeah. My brother has a car, so I drive around with my brother. Is it a Ferrari? No, it's not. No. You're not doing one of those embarrassing sort of... You don't remember that little short film you did? Where you were stood on the beach and in the ocean. You told me you were watching that on your previous flight.
1:03:25No, you made a right pillock of yourself. Don't matter, I'll tell you. You'll be watching that on your next flight, don't worry. Wouldn't you ever do a little commercial like that back in Scotland?
1:03:37Yeah. Say what? Don't come here. Don't come here. Ten minutes lagging. Come in here and you'll get over your head. I don't even want to be here. Okay. My mum did one. We did one. Some of the mothers did one for the 98 World Cup. It was for a washing powder. Really? Aerial. Do you remember Aerial? Yeah. Is that still going? I don't know. in the UK the aerial powder I've still got the t-shirt actually is it bright white huh is it bright white with no stains yeah obviously I don't know why the mother well yeah I know my mom end up being involved okay so I like that like that yeah like that too like this
1:04:25Why are you doing this every time? Well, I mean, look, even they've got the glasses on. They've got the glasses on. That's my home. That's my home. I'll tell you what. Look at his pass. Look at his pass. Hey! Look at him styling it out as well.
1:04:48That's the one. That is it. If you don't yearn to go to Trinidad and Tobago after this. There's something about Trinidad and Tobago that makes me want to have lived abroad for 35 years. I go back every chance I get. Every chance. And those glasses, by the way, you were the original Liam Rossiniar before Liam Rossiniar, weren't you? Somebody told you... You were in no position with them glasses. Well, that's reading glasses. Yeah, I'm just saying, you can't. No, I can tell you. You're in no position to get me talking about my glasses. These are actual pairs that aren't broken right now. Amazon, four pairs for$19.
1:05:26All right, that's how cheap I am. But they're readers, that's all they are. They're not to make me look intellectual. It would take more than you, right? Well, that's impossible. It's nice to be back. How was Craig's vacation is the last question. It was all right, I went to Greece. How was it? Yeah, right, yeah. Long way. I went to one of the Greek islands, yeah, and then I went back to the mighty Nottingham for a few days. So yeah, yeah, it was all right. Come back refreshed and raring to go. I ran into the studio today. I ran in from my local town. Oh, I couldn't wait to get in. My chest was beaten.
1:06:10Beaten. I was even more, I tell you what, I felt even, I was even more buoyed when I got here and there was technical problems with Moreno and Thomas' camera and And I thought, well, the day can't get any better. I don't even have to look at those two. And they seemed really happy to see you. And then up the pop. Ali doesn't, I mean, what a trip that is. Barcelona with those two. I mean, Ali doesn't drink, right, at all, really. Nothing. And his nibs has had his liver done, so he can't drink. I mean, I'm not suggesting you have, well, I am. I am. You're going to be there. You've got to go and have a bit of a, you know, you've got to enjoy, you know.
1:06:47like a local you're there to work Craig yes I know but listen I've been when we were in New York for three weeks we worked hard and we played hard and not just us if there's any big question the bosses right in case they're back there saying well that was out of order I bet you gave your World Cup predictions then didn't you oh yeah there was a World Cup one I was watching that there was a Premier League on as well yeah but I'm getting cut up and it's taken I had priorities today Okay.
