In short

Amanda returns to the podcast after months away, sharing relationship/dating chaos, body-confidence updates, and multiple “story” segments about men who behave inconsistently or oddly. She also discusses self-forgiveness vs accountability, plus wellness and skincare/fitness routines.

Guests

No formal guests appear in the transcript. The hosts are Amanda (main speaker) and her co-hosts (unnamed in the excerpt). Other people are referenced as friends/partners (e.g., Davide, Pia, Laura Mercier mentioned as a brand, plus “Carlo” her child), but they are not interviewed.

Key claims

  • She feels her direct communication makes relationship stages move quickly.
  • She believes emotionally unavailable/immature adult men are common in her dating pool.
  • She supports cosmetic surgery for body autonomy and self-love.
  • She argues for “closing the loop” with harmful exes rather than staying overly forgiving.
  • She criticizes “self-work” men who use plant medicine/inner-child talk as a personality while still acting irresponsibly.

Notable examples

  • “Runner”: a stunning director-type man (described as Brad Pitt/George Clooney “baby”) abruptly flees during sex; she later learns he was spiraling about his ex.
  • “Toad Licker”: a crunchy plant-medicine man who previously stopped dating for ayahuasca/inner work returns; he discusses ayahuasca “eight times,” gambling addiction, and pays for dinner while critiquing her “diva” internet presence; she ends it.
  • She also recounts sending a long Instagram message to a long-ago ex for past cheating/drugging/abandonment, especially after becoming a mother.

0:00The following podcast is a Dear Media production.

0:14I think you just jump right the fuck in because you have not told me anything for so long. I know it's been it's been months to save up for this fucking podcast. I actually was very touched. I posted yesterday. I was like, hey, I'm going on the pod. And do you guys have questions? People were like, fuck yeah, dude. Everyone's like, we don't have questions. Just come on and tell us. I appreciate the offline. We're being respectful of someone we know and not blasting him on the podcast. But I respect the offline download on one of the dates he went on recently. The sad news is this, is I've told Pia some really good shit, but I can't say it on the pod.

0:51But the good news is this. I have some bangers for you guys today. I don't know how all these situations keep happening. Like within 48 hours, you have gone through so many stages of a relationship and so many, like you're the only person that this type of shit happens to. You know what it is? It's because I feel like I'm so forward and direct and I've been trying to be like a really clear communicator. So the stuff comes and goes quick. But even just like the situations you're in, it's just like, how does that happen to you consistently? silly i think it's because i'm like in so many situations by the way daviday the other day mentioned how good you look that's so nice i know he was like amanda looks amazing that's really sweet i was like amanda and i've had a really good like last 10 year glow up me and you have have gotten so hot and beautiful wait till i pop out this third kid and i get all this fucking surgery.

1:48It's over for you, hoes. It's fucking. It's over. Once all the scars heal, it's over. It's over. Yeah, we were talking about this. I just think it's so nice. We've like figured out what works for us, like what makeup works for us, what clothes work for us. I'm like, I don't need like a black wingtip liner with like. I love the brown, the light brown little tippy that you're doing on your eyes. It's so beautiful. Laura Mercier caviar eyeliner. I need to figure out a little bit more of my makeup stuff, but I do. I was thinking about it the other day because I was like, oh God, like I'm going to, you know, is it lame of me to get?

2:20And I was like, I have been struggling with my weight since I was 12. Like, is it lame of you to get surgery? Yeah, and I was like, I'm 40 years old. Of course not. I fucking deserve to have a body that I want to fucking have. Yeah. And I work out and I eat right. I take all my fucking supplements. It's not like a cheat, but like, I want the inside of my thigh, a little bit outside of my thigh. And I want this pocket of fat on my stomach, like surgically removed. It's important. I like finally feel like I love my body 100%. And I look - Unheard of. Unheard of. Unimaginable. I'm like the meanest person ever on planet earth to myself.

3:00And now I look in the mirror and I'm like, no, I like you, girl. You're looking good, girl. So it's the first time in my life I've thought that way. It's fantastic. My sister told me this morning, she's like, this is the best you've ever looked. And listen, I have lost weight many times. Yeah. I've oscillated many, you know, My mainstay was like 150 my whole life, but I would go way above and below that. But I'm the strongest I've ever been. Yeah, that's so important. Your face looks so good too. I like talk behind your back all the time. No, I talk behind your back about how pretty you look. Oh my God, thank you so much.

3:34Well, Davide and I were doing the same. Oh my God, you look good. We looked at photos of you when you were being a little slut in Vegas the other day. And we were like, look at this fucking outfit. She looks, Davide was like, I hope that she gets a really rich man. Me too, Davide. Same for all of us. Me too. Because you would bring us on the boat. I know. Maybe, you know what? But like, who knows what's going to happen with me? Like, maybe I'm getting the boat. I know. But we are, we've been getting the boats. You know what I mean? This is, we've talked about this. It's like, you deserve to be like, you just need like a baby.

4:04I like a baby. Yeah. Yeah. I was like having this interesting conversation with my mom last night. Because I was like, I'm coming on the boat. My mom's also like totally like the lady who gets the boat. Yeah, my mom's such a boss. But yeah, it's like, I think what's hard is all of the caliber of men I'm looking for seem to be emotionally unavailable. It's a tough one. I cannot believe the level of immaturity and emotional unavailability in these adult men. It's pretty crazy because I've been - It's irresponsible. I've had some like catches in the last six months. like I've I've like dated some like very incredible men like I'm like oh this could be a vibe but then you kind of get in you get under the hood and you're like oh my god I know it's so sad oh my god I look at Carlo all the time and I'm like every time I change his diaper and I like literally look at him and I go like everything on your body has to be used for good yeah like women are the best you have to be a good boy forever yeah or i will kill you yeah like i i mean so many people were dming and they're like what's happening out there like are we all good i'm like girls like i don't know but i think yes i think ultimately yes but it is a little rough so also in los angeles this is just like a crazy place like if we were babe i've been saying this i can't say this enough in real life we need to go to the south we need to go to a rodeo where is your cowboy those are southern gorgeous southern family loving me with a cowboy yes they're gonna be like get over here man i'm put you up on this horse and you're tossed around like your little fucking nothing i do do like two morgan wallen songs so i think that's fine yeah i think that's fine too i will go with you so i want to go like real cow cow girls like i am in your nightmare because i see girls be like these girls that go to the rodeo and they don't know anything like i want to go on the rodeo I don't know anything.

5:59I would love to. You know, I went to the Houston rodeo last year. Yes. It was so much fun. They do it in New York, but we need to go. Let's go to a rodeo. I think we need to find one. I don't, yeah, Texas. Like you need like a Texas. By the way, when Dom and I kept breaking up and getting back together, Hillary Hogan's dad's best friend is this guy named Butterbean. And I would always be like, Butter, if this thing doesn't work out with this Italian guy, I need you to set me up with 10 of your friend's sons. Immediately, I'm going only Southern. Only. Okay, not now. Not no. I've been sending you those rodeo clips.

6:31I know. They're so cutie pie. But like, does a rodeo guy like me? I don't know. 100. You're like Dolly Parton. Yeah, I guess. You know what I mean? Yeah, baby. They love those like flashy girls. Yeah. With your little cowboy boots and like a mini skirt. I can make it work. It's out. Yeah. You're gorgeous. It's out at the rodeo. Yeah. You make jewelry. Like their moms would fucking die for you. Die. The moms would. I love that. You're like a good addition to someone's family, you know? Yeah. I want to be an addition to someone's family. These are family men. Okay, I'm into this. I'll do weekends wherever.

7:05Should I change my Raya location to Houston? See what pops off? No. Wait a second. Do we think the caliber of men on Raya in the South is like... I wonder if they're even on it. Do they even know about it? I don't... Do they? I don't know. Maybe. Yeah, maybe I could do some Charleston action. Ooh. for sure oof Dov and I are both obsessed with wanting to be like Cowboys and Cowboys like we're just you guys are good at it I'm not I like don't even own Cowboys how we cosplay like we go to fucking Colorado when you guys go to Aspen and you wear your what's it Lizzie whatever Lindsay Thorneburn call me I go on the internet you're dressed like a fucking idiot you're like you're like you're like ransacking Kimo Savi dude you're putting some like char grilled feather in your hat.

7:58I love it. Oh my God. I love it. So embarrassing, but I love it. Um, okay. Proper white girl cosplay. I got tails prepped for you guys. Okay, let's go. What's, what's this first one called? I love how you named them. This one's called the runner. Okay, great.

8:16Just so you guys know, I told this story at a random girls dinner in Vegas. Not, not random, but like there was randoms there and I got a standing o no yeah where were you eating Delilah before seeing Calvin Harris these girls were like these girls had never met me they're like you're on fucking like you guys think this podcast is good when you are in a dinner with me with a Mandy with Mandy and we've had a few drinks and she's like in her thing and like she has a real audience like you that's how I was like you need to come on the podcast because you are a fucking storyteller okay this one's called the runner so one of my gay friends and I were having dinner and before dinner he was like hey this is so crazy but my old boss is in town shooting and he's like really handsome and like so eligible he like doesn't live in LA but like can I bring him to dinner well and I was like you know what yeah I was like that's fun and then he's like do you want your photo i was like actually i don't yeah you're so good at that like i don't i don't want to see like just have him roll through and he's like okay well he wanted to see a pic of you i sent him i sent him a pic he's like great i'm hot he's like he thinks you're like fucking gorgeous i was like great this is amazing so we go to dinner we have like 30 minutes of dinner to ourselves then this man rolls up and he's hot you guys it was like literally brad pitt and george glooney had a baby like stunning classic chic salt and pepper like how long ago was this oh god i hate that i haven't known this i know a couple weeks ago okay he i was like what the like what the hell yonte like how is this man like who are who are you you know we start like he walks in we you know he sits next to me we start chatting he starts giving me the rundown he is a like former creative director now he's a director.

10:11The Rolodex is banger after banger after banger, like luxury brands. So cool. Where does he live? So epic. So he splits his time between Biarritz and Puglia. But he's from like Ohio or something. He splits his time between Puglia and Biarritz. Yes. I'm like, what? That's almost annoying. I'm like, what do you mean? He's like, yeah. He's like, I just really enjoy those places and I travel so much for work. And I'm like, but you're from America. He's from like a good like American family and he's like drop like drop dead never been married never been married anyways we have the dinner it's like it's on like it's on we're like locked eyes we're talking the whole time dinner ends so fun dinner ends and then we go well he's like what do you want to do and we're like oh my friend's like oh we have this birthday if you guys want to go we're like yeah like let's go so he's like let's go grab one more drink so we go by the way i made up a new drink oh what is it it's called a pineapple cloud okay you can get at any bar but all it is is tequila pineapple juice shaking the shit out of so it's foamy and then you take a shot that's by the way that's sexy because pineapple is vagina juice yes it is such a vibe so we took pineapple cloud shots then we left we took an uber we went to a birthday party birthday party was like kind of like lame but we were still like yeah he came whatever you're funny then we're like let's be crazy like let's go to a nightclub so like we went to like a nightclub which one it's called the gate it's like kind of by my house so random went to a nightclub how did you like you just walk up like like someone like someone knew someone who knew someone like just had a dance what's the vibe at a nightclub right now it was like you know in our minds it was like cooler than it was, but it was still like fun and spontaneous.

12:01And then we leave the nightclub. Is your gay still with you, by the way? Gay still with me. I've got my girlfriend with me. And then I have like George Clooney with me. And so we're all leaving. And then everyone's like, we don't want the night to end. So I was like, all right, I'll have you guys over. So everyone comes to my house. We go sitting in the backyard. I make everyone a little takikis. And we're just like laughing, chatting, like George Clooney's talking to my friends. Like, you know, it's starting to get late and my friends are like picking up that we have a vibe. And so they're like, hey, they're like, we're gonna go.

12:32And so I turned to him. I was like, oh, are you gonna leave? And he goes, would you mind if I stayed for a little? It's like, sure. It's fucking hot. Sure wouldn't. Sure wouldn't.

12:52the secret to fabulous skin and something that we're not going to want to admit is that we could layer on every serum till the cows come home and our skin is not going to glow unless we're fixing everything internally and that's why I love peak because peak is where spirit meets science it's aspirational wellness for people who want to perform at their highest level. And if you want radiant skin, you want the radiant skin duo. Okay. It starts with the sun goddess matcha. It is your morning reset button. It is a cult favorite. I know you've seen it on the internet. Like I have, everybody has it.

13:29It's delicious ceremonial grade volcanic soil matcha that calms and detoxes the skin from within. And then the BT foundation is your all day beauty hydration. It is a luxury hydration. This is not a sports electrolyte. And it's going to rebuild and rehydrate your complexion. The Sun Goddess Matcha is not just energy. It's a skin detox. It has chlorophyll, which is a powerful detoxification. It has EGCG, which brightens and firms the skin. L-theanine, which causes stress and is critical for reducing flare-ups. It cleans you out. It calms your skin. It literally turns the glow switch back on. and the BT foundation is really just this like luxury hydration that you really can't get anywhere else.

14:10It has hyaluronic acid for deep pumping hydration, ceramides to repair and strengthen the skin barrier, unbelievable minerals, which hydrate at the cellular level. And it's a delicious Yuzu raspberry flavor. So just like put that stuff in your water and step on it all day. The way that I do, I have both of these to go in every single one of my bags. I bring them with me when I travel, you're going to get less puffiness, brighter tone, firmer texture, fewer flare-ups. It's just the ultimate plump, dewy lift from within glow. When people start asking you like, wait, like, what are you doing? You look so glowy.

15:46So my friends leave. I go in the kitchen to like fake cleanup stuff. And he grabs me and kisses me. Oh, fire. And I'm like, yes. this is so fun. I can see the whole visual, your beautiful kitchen. This is so fun. I've been so horny since I saw Wuthering Heights too. So this is like, these are the stories that are fulfilling ways. I looked so cute. I had the Wolford like tube dress on, like a sick blazer, hair slicked back, whatever. He's like in the kitchen. He just grabs me and starts kissing me. I'm like, yes, yes. He picks me up, puts me on the counter. I'm like, yes, yes, yes, yes. Then he picks me up, And he takes me to another room, throws me down, and then he just stands there.

16:34And he goes, I, I, I, I. No, no, no, no, he didn't run off. No, he didn't. No, he didn't. No, he didn't. No, he didn't. Guys? No, he didn't. What are you talking about? He ran away. He ran away. true or false do i have ring video camera footage of this that i'm gonna show you oh you guys have you heard from was this it you guys he ran away did he leave stuff at your house he left nothing no text no you haven't heard from him since no dm he didn't even say anything to my friend that introduced us he actually texted my friend and said such a fun weekend dude dude you guys he ran he ran away out of my home i have to show you this video people are going to be dming me do you think he got it do you think he had like an ibs situation he got nervous i have like so many questions when he so he runs do you have his instagram he runs and i like look Show me the ring camera.

17:48I look at my front door and like, he's like literally gone. And I was like, did you call anyone when this happened? You guys, it was so late. Like no one was up anymore. How did you recover from this? I walked around my house talking to myself going, what the fuck? What the fuck? You were about to be penetrated and he bailed. He, you guys, he ran with like no explanation. I was like, what? What is the mutual friendship about this? Oh my God. I like, I feel bad. I like ripped my mutual friend a new one. Okay, here we go. Why? It's giving he's a runner. He's a track star. He like grabbed his jacket and put it on.

18:27Babe, he, he was like Looney Tunes cartoon. This is titled runner in your phone. Yeah. You can tell from the back, he's hot as hair. He's really hot. He's so hot. He's so hot. Can you show me his Instagram? I don't even have his Instagram. Well, we know his name, obviously. first and last i'll show you afterwards he this bitch bolted bolted i was like and you're just not gonna reach out and be like hi what the fuck no you can't no you can no because i don't really care i don't really care like i met you once but i would need an answer i'm like you're the most like uncouth man on planet earth to not think that that warrants there's a reason there's a very serious reason that happened and i would need to i need another reason so then i started I want to DM him.

19:10I start firing off the group chat. And I was like, you guys, you guys, you guys. Will someone please wake up? This is so crazy. He ran. He ran. So then in the morning, I got a tiny bit of clarity. My bestie was like, oh my God, I was talking to him at your fire pit. And he was really tripping about his ex-girlfriend. So I was like, oh, okay. Maybe he like got in his head. My mom thinks I look like the ex. I was like, mom, that's a bit of a stretch. Well, maybe he just like saw, he like laid this beautiful woman down in front of him and it was about to happen. Yeah. And he just had like, he had MNTB.

19:51He had MNTB. I was like, bro, you are so lucky. I have confidence and self-esteem because like that could have been, that could have like really ruined my life. He ran. So yeah, never, never heard from him. Never heard from him. I think that's like fucked up. What do you mean you think it's fucked up? It's one of the craziest things I've ever heard. It's so beyond. Yeah. He just left you there? Ran. Ran. You're making out. You're making out. He picks you up, throws you down. Babe, we laid like five hours of hanging as groundwork. So crazy. I would need a definitive answer. You're being very cool about this.

20:31Well, because I'm like, I don't really know you. Also, you don't live in LA. It wasn't even going to be us dating. but yeah but I think I would just be like hey now I want to make sure you're okay now that I'm retelling it I'm like I'm like you know what though I I don't want to chase anyone for an answer what did your I know who this friend is I can tell who it is the person who introduced you what did he say he was mortified he was so mortified it's not on him to be mortified like they're like I we need an answer we got the answer like my girlfriend was like he was literally spiraling about his ex-girlfriend by your your friend at your house yeah i miss i and i i miss that whole conversation so it's like okay then like that that makes sense like the math is math thing but i wonder how but i would need to know from the mutual friend like how long would you break up with the ex like i can't believe you're you are your feet are on the ground that you are just letting this be like a story that swoops over you like i would be because in the morning I would have hired a fucking fucking PI forensics detective no honestly what I went to sleep and I was pissed yeah yeah pissed because I'm like there's a way to handle that you could just sit like sit up and be like I'm so sorry I've done this to someone you know what I'm really sorry like I'm having a hard time right now like my head's not in the game you're so lovely I had such a good night I gotta go yeah it's so quick dude then also like we're adults I did something like this is someone in my 20s where like we had a full night together it was someone that like who'd been like dying to hook up with me and i was like feeling fun and flirty and i was like maybe i'll do it and then we pulled the cab up to my house and i said pay for the cab no and i ran into my apartment and locked and like slammed the door behind me and ran up the stairs and ignored all of his phone calls yeah but you were what like 22 yeah like 25 or something this man is like 47 he was like we're adults yeah super bad yeah it's halfway through his life To be honest, when I woke up in the morning, I had this thought.

22:29I was like, oh my God, is there ring camera footage? And there was. And I was like, actually, this is so fucking funny. It would be funny to just send that to him. I was like, this is straight comedy. So I'm not even mad anymore. Like, why am I going to like. Oh, I get it. Yeah. Crazy. He looks so gorge. He was so gorge. He's also very talented. Bye. Bye, bitch. I love these like big talented like director guys director who are such fucking pussies yeah one of them is my ex and he lives in LA and he's talking about me to people and I sent him a message last week what saying what I just have like been very forgiving of him for like 20 years and been like really cool and one of our mutual friends like was out with him a couple weeks ago and was like I hung out with your ex-boyfriend the other night and I was like I have like three so what and she was like oh this person and i was like ew what and she was like yeah he like drove us all around on it he's so hot and i was like he's not hot like shut up no he's not and then my name came up and he was like yeah pia doesn't want to talk to me because she's got this like sicilian husband or whatever and i was like that's not why i don't want to talk to you you fucking disgusting there's like a bunch of other reasons dude yeah you ruined me when i was 18 years old like cheated on me gave me drugs like left me places like so horrible and i wrote him two thumbs down i wrote him the craziest message on fucking instagram and sent it last week i love it and i was like i've been holding on to this for 20 years because i wanted to be like a nice person and like not make me feel bad because like now you're sober and i get the like 12th step phone call which i love aa and i respect the steps but i like that and he's one of those just like yeah like create like make movies it's like shut up i think that as women as we're like navigating these assholes, I think that we should give ourselves permission to do whatever feels right for us.

24:21Like if it is like a text message, like sending someone a letter, an email saying our piece, if that makes you feel better, go for it. It did. And it's not something I didn't tell Dobby Day. Yeah. Not because it's like a secret, but like, because it's just on the pod. It's just, well, he's not, it's Tommy. He's listening to my podcast. You fucking imagine. He was like, he's like, it felt good for me. And I, and I'll tell you why I'm getting more triggered by it. because now I have a daughter. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So I think about like, like I do with Carlo where I'm like, this is how I want, you know, I think about like the future, what I want for my kid.

24:53For sure. And I was like, I need to close the loop on this and like stop actually being like so forgiving to this person and they actually like need to know like the damage they caused because this person's still single. Yeah. So he's terrorizing other little chicas. Yeah, totally. So that's why I was like, I just need to like let you know that you're like a bit of like a fucking terrorist. Yeah. And like close the circle there. and I feel really good about it. I read it to Whit the other morning and she was like, oh, because she knew him. You know, she's known me since high school. She was like, oh my God, whoa.

25:23And I was like, I know. And I feel free, you know? It's a good practice and a good reminder. I know. I dated this guy last summer who put me in a like washing machine. Like I just, yeah, I told you about this. This man last summer in New York spat me out and I was like too scared to say, to like rip him a new one for the way he treated me. And I kind of like left it on good terms and ran into one of my friends. She's like, oh, I'm dating this guy. It's him. And she was telling me a bunch of stuff and we were, you know, just cross-referencing a lot of the same things that he's done to her that he did to me.

26:05And I was like, you know what? Damn, what a missed opportunity because who knows if what I said would do anything or change his behavior? Probably not. But like, can you imagine if I ripped him a new one and then he stopped behaving like that? Also, I think there's this thing where people will tell you like, I'm married, I'm like very in love and have a healthy relationship and two children, like one another child. Like I'm clearly not like ruminating over the man I dated when I was 18. But I heard the way he spoke about me. And I sat, and so I wrote. I don't like that. I don't like that. I don't like that.

26:37I don't like that. And now I'm an adult who's like not, doesn't need to like people, please. so much. And I was like, so by the way, when my name fucking comes up in a social setting, you pretend that you don't fucking know who I am and don't mention my husband is how I answered. I said, you and my husband shouldn't know. You shouldn't know he exists. What a wonderful man I'm with by the grace of God. And I was like, you know what? That felt my 18 year old me needed happy 40 year old me to say that. I love that.

30:49Let's go with your funny stories. Okay. What's this next one? This next one is called the toad licker. Oh, no. Did he like do one of those like ashwagandha-y things where he licks the toad? Yeah. What's it called? Shout out plant medicine. I don't even. The plant medicine guys are so really trying to figure out what's wrong with them, huh? Yeah. And like, I'm like, let's like, you know, like, let's not even like no shade, straight up no shade. It like, but it ain't for me. Like burning, burning man, it ain't for me. By the way, all of these stories, if there was like a current day, let's just manifest this like sex in the city television show, like L.A.

31:34style. Yeah. Like, because that's where all the all the sex in the city stories were from real stories that like women would tell in the writing room. Yeah. This needs to be like, this is like our modern day. Yeah. I want to do a TV show at some point. Okay. Toad liquor. Where'd you find this fucking dork? So I'm going to bring you guys back to 2021. Okay. 2021. COVID-y. COVID-y. Fresh off my divorce. My, the second hinge date I ever went on was with this guy, the toad liquor. We met, oh my God, we had this epic date the night before Thanksgiving. Okay. It's a fun night always. Such a fun night.

32:09Great, great night. Really good night. like consume alcohol the night before Thanksgiving. You will have a good time. Waking up hungover on Thanksgiving is so fun. I remember we went to Venice Beach Wines, met this guy. I had like super low expectation. He seemed a little crunchy. You know, he was like fishing. He had like Burning Man goggles on. I was like, I don't know. Yeah, in his prof. But he seemed like a nice guy. He was really, really cute. We go on this date. It was like so pleasant. Yeah. We kiss. It was straight up fireworks. Aw. It was the first kiss I had felt since I had been divorced where I was like, oh, wow, I like feel something inside of me.

32:47We went on two or three dates. And then he goes, hey, he's like, I'm doing a lot of like inner child work. He's like, I got to go off and do my thing going on this plant medicine journey. He's like, so I'm going to stop dating. I was like, that's so sweet and lovely. I appreciate you telling me that. Good luck on your journey. Four years goes by. I forget he exists. He like goes off the internet, forget he exists. I get a DM from him. Hi, Amanda. He's like, it has been such a joy watching you like grow and flourish for the past couple of years on the internet. Like I'm back in LA, back in town, back in the mix.

33:25I would love to like take you to dinner. And I was like, oh my God. I was like, this is epic. Like, like, is this my love story? Yeah, totally. You don't even mean like we had a man fixed himself like a kiss like five years ago and like i felt butterflies and like and then he went and fixed himself whatever so i was like yes yeah you can take me to fucking dinner this is great so then he gets my number and he sends me the wackiest that's the only word i can use voice note he's like what's up like i just took a weed gummy i'm feeling kind silly did it i i was like i'm not gonna reply to this like this is weird yeah ew next day he texts me hey that was so psycho that the first time i contacted you was when i took a week of me like i'm a loser cool please ignore i was like okay yeah yeah yeah it redacted it redacted for sure we got some like a self-aware boy whatever so he's like i'm back he's like i'm he's like i'm fresh back in LA.

34:31Like he's like, can you, he's like, you, like you pick the time and the place. Yeah. He's like, I don't know where to go. I don't know where to go. So I was like, okay, got it. Like Thursday night, the spot, whatever. Meet me there. Wednesday night, I go to Erewhon, like no, no makeup, baseball cap, whatever with my bestie. And he walks in. That's not how you, that's also a second city episode. She's like, that's not how I'm supposed to look. Yeah. Dude. I looked pretty fucks. I looked pretty fucks, but you know what? I was like, fuck it. Like whatever. He already knows what I look like. I mean, you're gorgeous.

35:00You don't look fucked in your head you did yeah so I was like what what's up like what is up this is so crazy like I'm seeing you tomorrow and he he was being really weird like he wouldn't really look me in the eye I think I mean he was thrown off it was pretty insane I haven't seen him in like five years or whatever and then so he comes and sits down he's talking to me and my bestie and we're like what have you been up to he's like yeah you know I did I did I was like how was your plant medicine journey he's like i did ayahuasca eight times oh oh oh his synapses are not firing properly anymore he fried his brain eight eight times and then he's like yeah he's like uh like i like the toad i like the toad as well i'm like oh that's apparently the worst one i was like oh okay so then it's a quick cat it's like this is such a fucking erwan conversation by the way This is over like a barbecue chicken hot plate with like Mighty Greens.

36:01And I'm like in a baseball cap. And then so he walks away and I turned to my bestie. I was like, was that weird? Like, be for real. Be so for real right now. And she was like, well, I don't know if we have enough evidence yet. But she's like, I don't. And I was like, you know what? Yeah, to be fair, like I don't have enough evidence. Like, was that weird? Like, kinda. Cut to Thursday, the date. He rolls up to dinner. First thing he says, oh, God. Jesus, it took forever to get here. And I was like, yeah, like I picked a place by my house. Like he came from Venice. I was like, yeah, it's like Thursday evening.

36:46This is so LA, the fucking like hippie dork that thinks that like nothing exists outside of Venice is so far. But I was like, okay, how long did it take? he's like 40 48 minutes and i'm like 48 minutes get my nails done okay it's just like it's just rude i was like okay negative and gross so weird so i was like all right whatever he sits down they come over like would you guys like a drink and he's like sure don't that stuff's poison and i'm like says the man that licked a poisonous toad says the man that licked the poisonous toad okay i was like well i will be having a glass of poison please yeah i was like i'd like a glass of poison in the form of Belvedere with olive juice.

37:27So then - It's a cold, shake it. So then the drink comes, we start really catching up. I'm like, you know, how have you been? Like, what's been up? He's like, well, I lived in my van for a while. I've been doing the ayahuasca, whatever. And he's like, yeah. I'm like, do you feel good? Like, how are you feeling? Like, do you feel like you got to where you needed to go? It's like, well, the gambling addiction is still pretty active. and I'm like, you guys, but alcohol is poison. I'm like the gambling addiction. Oh my God. The one phrase I said probably 15 times this date was tell me more. Like, where do you get like, I said, I said, tell me more, tell me more about this gambling addiction.

38:10He goes, yeah. He goes, yeah. I just, you know, he's like, I taught myself how to do the, stock market on YouTube during COVID. So he's like, so I quit my job. And he's like, I got to the point where I was gambling my entire life savings on a daily basis. I was like, how did that go? He's like, sometimes good and sometimes bad. I was like, okay. I'm like, when you say active, you mean it's current. He's like, it's better than it was, but it's still active. And I'm going to be honest with you about that. I was like, okay, I really appreciate the honesty. He's done so much self-work, so he needs to be honest.

38:46Really appreciate the honesty with the active gambling addiction. And then he goes, you know what's interesting about you? Oh, what, you fucking dork? Tell me. What's wrong with me? He goes, you're such a lovely down-to-earth girl, but your internet presence is giving diva. I go, oh. I go, oh, I'm. yours is getting richy rich crunch boy you fucking dork i just was like earning man is for rich people i can't stand any of this i'm like where do we start the conversation where you get to critique my internet presence and i was like in that moment i'm so mad i took a beat i took a beat and i was like i'm not going to be defensive because i am not defensive yeah because you have nothing to defend and i explained to him i was like just so you know i was like for a long time especially when I was married, I was not a founder facing brand.

39:42I was a person that had a brand. And I was like, I have a lot more self-confidence and I love myself. And I want to be - Also, I sell diamonds for a living. Yeah. I'm like, I'm selling a beautiful premium product. I'm selling adornment for women. Like, yeah, like maybe my Instagram looks polished. Like maybe it's beautiful photos of me. I'm like, that's what I want to give off and it's important for me and I want my girls who are shopping love AJ to like kind of see me and like understand like what is the brand how is it supposed to be worn like you know like I'm like this is all important and it's all really thoughtful and he was like oh okay it's just real diva it's real diva and I'm like can you please stop saying diva like Beyonce's a diva dude like I'm just like some chick in West Hollywood yeah like just relax So then he starts, he starts to like, I'm like, I'm like, do you have like holes in your brain from all this stuff?

40:41He starts like saying things as if I know what he's talking about. He's like, the breakup's been pretty hard on me. I'm like, what are you like, what breakup? I'm like, tell me more. He's like, yeah, you know, I just got out of a pretty intense relationship. I'm like, when? He's like, about like two weeks ago. And I'm like, oh my God. And I like thought about the timestamp of when he DM'd me. He DM'd me, you guys, like within 24 hours of breaking up with whatever, this girl. So I'm like, okay, tell me more. Cause I want to know, you know, I want to know what the, what the T is. He's like, God, he starts telling me about this, this like rinky dink gal.

41:22And he's like, he's like, breakups really cost me a lot. And I'm like, why is it costing you a lot? He's like, well, you know, like she's not in a really good place right now. She maxed out the Sephora credit card. So I had to pay that down. I'm like, Sephora credit card. He's like, yeah, she was really upset during the breakup. So I agreed to pay for her class pass. I had to pay for the year premium. And I'm like, I'm going to stop you there. I was like, there's no universe. I even have a Sephora credit card, let alone I'm having a man pay for it. And there's also no universe. I have a man getting me a premium.

42:08I'm crying over a premium class pass. In my head, I was like, what are we? What the fuck are we even doing here? I'm so mad about all this so it was so like I was like what is happening so I was like let's let's wrap let's you're like I'm a diva but your girl is like literally doing actual diva activities with you currently I'm a diva I'm a diva because I have like a like a hot selfie on my grid but like your girl is asking you to pay out her Sephora debt Sephora debt's hectic bro what are you buying so that's hectic amazing like i can't imagine like going to sephora and just being like i mean i kind of can but like house i like actually like shout out to this chick she got this like certified idiot to pay off her sephora card and buy her a class pass so we finished the dinner and i just go i said can i ask you a question he goes sure i go why are we here Amazing, Amanda.

43:09I said, why are we here? I'm just curious. Because it's like, I don't know what was happening. Like it wasn't flirty. I was like, why? Like he was so grumpy, like so, so negative. And he was like, well, he goes, you know what? I just really want some strong females in my life. And I was like, there's a certain kind of guy that really bothers me. And I don't, it's like gives me this internal anger. and everything you're saying is describing like this type of guy that I fucking hate. Yeah, dude. I mean, look, I gave him like, I gave him like a 90 minute interaction at a dinner, which he paid for, thankfully.

43:48So it was fine. But I was like, yeah, I need to like, that whole situation was like, this is a reminder. I need to do my due diligence to like assess somebody before I give them my time in like a romantic capacity. You know what I mean? Like I was like, I probably didn't. You didn't assume it's so rare that someone's going to like waste your time like that. Yeah. And like you're really good about being like, I'm going to be in the moment. I'm not going to prejudge someone. Yeah. And I was like, maybe we'll have fun. But then like once the act of gambling popped off, the poison alcohol thing is annoying to me because I've dated sober people and like, let me have a drink.

44:22They're not no one like and I've been best friends with sober people. It's never been a thing. You don't you don't you don't judge prejudge anybody's behavior. The irony of him. With the gambling problem? No, the irony of him ingesting every poison, every plant poison. Yeah, but that's, every plant poison. Mine's potato poison and it's called vodka. Pick your fucking poison, bitch. Do you ever talk to him after the date? No. You guys. What? I went to the Clippers game the next day. Was he not next to you? Courtside Clippers. I remember that. I saw that on, no, he wasn't. Yeah. What? three rows behind.

45:02Amanda! Amanda! I turn around. I literally turned around and turned right back around. You're like, hey, I'm the courtside diva. I turn around and just turn back around. I was like, get out of here. Get out of here. Why are you here? Yeah. Why are you here, dude? It's crazy. So that's the Toad Licker.

45:36You guys know how much I love wish garden herbs. And I talked about this in the last podcast, but the fact that my husband is taking herbs is truly hell freezing over. When I met this man and he would get sick, he wouldn't take a vitamin. He wouldn't take a vitamin C. He wouldn't drink green juice. He was like, get this stuff away from me. And he does not go a day without taking an herb from Wish Garden. It's incredible. So right now, because it's freezing and the kids are in school and huddled inside, they're all making each other sick. Kick-ass immune is like a daily for us. It's unbelievable.

46:13And by the way, they make it for children. So anytime these kids come home and they have a snotty nose or I feel a tickle in my throat, I do kick-ass immune for everybody. Carmela, me, my mom, Davide and Carlo have not had anything bigger than a little cough and a snuffy nose. It has not gone into fevers. This is the first season, knock on wood, of our lives that that's ever happened. And by the way, winter stress can bring a lot onto your body too. And so we take the deep stress, which I really, really love. And again, I've been giving that to Davide because he's up on his feet all day long. So everybody needs ashwagandha, but this is also a blend of ashwagandha and other nerve vines that help calm the mind, ease tension and support mood and energy.

46:58And honestly, I noticed a huge difference in my behavior, my reactions to things, same thing with Davide. It really helps you like slow down, feel more balanced. And then when it comes to sleep, I keep sleepy nights in my side table drawer. It's my secret weapon. It's gentle, non-sensitive herbal blend. It quiets the mind so the body can follow. So there's no grogginess. There's no melatonin. It's just deep natural sleep. Wish Garden Herbal Blends are an all-natural, high-quality, sustainably sourced brand from a woman-owned family company that's been perfecting formulas for decades. 49:26That's the toad looker. I mean, yeah I hate him too I hate these people that are on this like constant deep search for themselves and it's their whole personality is annoying to me I think that there's like a healthy balance of working on yourself like I work on myself every I work on myself every day everything's a practice I'm like reading writing journaling like trying to be self-aware intentions prayers not letting my cortisol spike over an email like yeah I told that I literally laid in bed with David last night And I was like, do you know what I do on a daily basis? I was like a thousand things to maintain my mental sanity and to be the best person that I can.

50:01And I'm really proud of myself. Check in with my fucking life coach, like accountability stuff all day. Yeah. That's work. Not being like, I mean, listen, people have trauma they need, but like, you know, this like constantly talking about it. And then like alcohol is poison, but you're like in LA at a Clippers game. Yeah. What? And there's the four credit cards being discussed. And then you're gambling. And then you're gambling. from your YouTube findings. It's all super crazy. Yeah, like it all just needs to be like a healthy balance of like working on yourself, but also having fun. I have many friends who've gone and done like whatever, ayahuasca.

50:42Yeah. And have come back just like so great and felt so good. And just like, we have so many friends who've done so many great things. You know, what's the place up north? Hoffman. Yes. Yeah. Everyone do your thing. Let's get, let's like be our best selves. This is like annoying guy, judgy, annoying guy. Totally. I mean, like, thank God it was just like one. It was one date. Amanda! I was like, what the hell, Yante, is happening here? So yeah, those were two like really psycho ripper experiences recently. to be fair I have had I had the best date I've ever had in my life in the last couple months the best date of my life with the person you told me offline yeah like that was cool that was such a cool I wanted that date it was like that was cool like like we're gonna take our W's where we can get them you know and then you know you you meet people you start to date them you assess their like my whole thing is right now is like assessing capacity I know that sounds like very like it sounds like very like therapized but like also it is therapized because i'm just fine i paid someone to help me figure that out but like that's what i'm trying to figure out now is like i meet someone they're really checking things off of my list like i'm looking for a certain type of man because i want a certain type of life yeah totally i want like a big beautiful fabulous life i have that on my own so i really want that with someone else so like you like you got to show up with that as well.

52:15So if I meet you and you're like, okay, cool. You got that going on too. The next step is like assessing your capacity. And what happens with a lot of these guys who are quote unquote catches is they don't have capacity. And I get it. Like they're building businesses. They're really busy. They haven't done the work, blah, blah, blah. But like, that's not where I'm at. Like I am busy, but I have time. Yeah. I just think, what's the saying? If he wanted to, he would it's so fucking true yeah it's just like i'm watching love story with carolyn beset jfk jr oh my god the new episodes are out today it's thursday i was like that's so if he wanted to he would like sending the flowers to her office like rolling up to her place it's like dude and same applies to his relationship with daryl hannah where like she was like i wanted more from you like why are you not and he was like i don't want to and it's like if you want to do he would he doesn't want to my my journey and the thing that i need to really fix is like not taking things personal because it's not it's hard not to but it's also yeah it's not it's hard to because the context is personal the context is romantic it's vulnerable it's like someone getting to know you so like rejection feels personal but like it's also not because it's just straight up compatibility rejection is god's protection it fucking better be you know who told me that who yeah remember Gia yes Gia the biggest hype girl told me that after her back in my life the breakup with the person that you knew that I dated before Davide because I like initiated that breakup and then as soon as he was like yeah you're right then I was like wait a second like no no no wait I made a mistake like I'm I'm 27 I'm supposed to be getting married now like I had like a crisis and she and like most of you knew that he was not my person and so she just was like at the house when I live with Ashley.

54:03And she was like, over and over again, all the, babe, rejection is God's protection. Just trust me on this one. Rejection is God's protection. I promise you. I promise you. I promise you. And it was the biggest. And I say that, who did I say that to the other day? Oh, I said to my brother yesterday because he's doing, he's like interviewing for these like different things. And he was like, oh, I don't want to like blow up a spot, but he's doing something like really cool work-wise and it like requires different interviews. And he was like, so cute. He was like, I'm nervous if I don't. I said, that's okay.

54:30I said rejection is God's protection. Then you're not supposed to be at that location because you're going to be at the other location and that location is going to be better for you. And it just like takes this weight off. You're just like, oh yeah, totally. I came up with a really good analogy that I feel like is similar. I feel like as a single woman, I feel really thirsty and I want water and I keep getting offered Coca-Cola. And I'm like, quenches your thirst for a second. It quenches your thirst and then makes you more thirsty. I gotta wait for water. I gotta say no to... I don't want a cola.

55:05We just got a from Olivia. Olivia, who just got engaged, by the way. Congrats!

55:14I need to see a ring. It's great. I want to see it on your phone. I want to see it on your phone. It's beautiful. It's beautiful. I got really excited. Oh, I have one really fun thing to tell tell my girlies tell my my pia pod girlies okay i came up with a new weekly program okay what is it it's called smooches.edu okay it can be so you so you create the program amongst your friends and what happens is is every sunday uh you opt in to getting a smooch that week you so you so you make a group chat it's called smooches name it smooches.edu throw in all your single friends all of them okay gays gals throw them all in and then every sunday you who's opting in and once you opt in we check in we're like did you get a smooch it helps like gamify it in a way where it becomes this like fun cute thing and a little challenge i love it's like yeah i love a smooch it kind of doesn't even matter who it is with like it doesn't need to be that fun smooch Yeah, and it's just like, it's like a, just something fun to look forward to and like helps you just put a little motherfucking pep in your step.

56:27Where are some fun places in LA that the girls can go to like meet a boy and get a smooch? Okay, so this is what's tricky. This is what's tricky. It's like, we're actually not necessarily going to a place to get a smooch necessarily. No, no, no, I know that we can like find, but like, okay, I'm going to tell you. so like nighttime vibes i mean this is so lame but like living room is the like living room is not lame living room is one of the best places i mean living room is like literally the best place ever it's it's lame to like go search for guys there but like that's where they all are yeah they're all there also bar seco bar seco is in uh silver lake they have after hours like there are cuties there and there are like smooches going down there cool you like you could go to bar Stella first have some drinks sit in the outside I feel like it's an outside patio also crazy but Melrose Farmer's Market you guys everybody is single there so go with someone me this is so good me and curry and Julia have been doing a wing woman thing when we're out if we think someone's hot we make the other person go up cool and we go up and we're like what's up with you great or like what's up with you and they're like what do you mean and we're like are you single are you not and then we're like all right my friend thinks you're cute it's so much better yeah it's freaky i do this a lot when i'm in new york before lonnie bet max yeah i was always going up like we would be like jd bellen and i would be like come over here who are you i was like a lot single friend yeah it's so fun so make your friends do that also like silver springs everyone is so so sexy but no one really talks what's silver springs the like Pilates.

58:12Oh, yes. Heated studio. Yeah. There's hotties there. There's boys at Silver Springs. Oh, my God. They do the hard classes. That's why I didn't think the way you were talking about. You have to do sculpt. Sculpt or hit. They're there. I'm so in my opacity in a bubble of feeling safe in my safe workout places, like working out in West Hollywood with like people who are literally traveled to Los Angeles and wanted the hottest people is crazy. You wear glam and then it melts off. I feel like I would be like the oldest, fattest person in any West That's all I would know. And I'm not. But you know what I mean?

58:42No, you wouldn't be. But yeah. Because there's like 12 year olds in there with like boob jobs and like the tiniest. You're just like, fuck. I know. They're so young. Everyone's so hot in there. Like, so are we. So are we. So yeah, we're opting in smooches.edu every Sunday. Start the group chat with your friends. Like. I love that. Oh, and then on Sunday mornings, we recap. Like who got smooches? Yeah, great. I've opted in. I've opted in every week this year. I believe that. Give a question. Okay, let's see. Are you raw dogging this or did you look at them before? I haven't looked at them. I only ever raw dog, so.

59:18Okay, let's see. Why was your mouth open like that? What did someone say? Because I was, someone said something, someone said something about the guy I had the first date with and I was like, how do they know? And I realized it's someone I know. I was like, oh. Oh God, oof, okay. Okay, let's see. Oh, this is funny. Virgo man, yes or no? What do you think? That seems nice to me to have someone who's in control. Yeah, I like someone who's like pragmatic and like gonna make a plan. Yeah, go do the, take care of me. Who do we, like what men do we not like? I know what I don't like. Cancer and Aquarius is a no-go for me.

59:52Cancer? Yeah, too emotionale. Carlo. Too many tears. My dad. Stop crying. I know. I'd say Scorpio men are pretty terrible. Ooh, I don't mind them. Okay. Oh, I mean, I guess we touched on this. How do you meet guys off the apps? I'm in such a hinge rut at the moment. We just got to, I think it's like, you have to talk to people wherever you are. Like I was really outgoing when I was single. Like I do not mind sparking up a combo in a grocery aisle. Like we need to bring back like daily romans. Yeah, I definitely, I talk to strangers all the time. Every time I'd get on the subway, I'd be like, there's gonna be a cute boy in this train.

1:00:28Like manifest it. Yeah, and just ask them like, ask them a stupid question. Like it doesn't even need to be that deep. Wherever you are, say you're in the grocery store, you could literally go up and be like, I know you don't work here, but do you know where the pineapple is? You know, like whatever that is. Also get a dog. Dogs are icebreakers. Get a dog. Ask your friends for setups. That's the best. And then also make your friends be your wing woman. Yes. That's the best. That's the answer for that. Oh, this was a good one. This girl DMed me. We're going to read this one. Your nails look so good.

1:00:57And my stumps are just like. I love my long nails. Shout out G-Bar. G-Bar Robertson. G-Bar nails are gorgeous. Pod question. Amanda SOS. Yes. As a certified baddie, I need your help. My ex and I were together for almost 2.5 years. We moved to Santa Barbara in September to start our new lives together. And I truly thought he was going to be my husband. He blindsided me one day saying he doesn't think we're compatible. Anyways, how do I find my inner baddie again, especially in a quaint city like this? Or should I just move back to LA? Holy fuck. I don't know because I love that she's living in Santa Barbara.

1:01:35And if you want to like have a life there, it would be obviously great to meet somebody who's already living there. Are there single men in Santa Barbara? There has to be. This is my take. Like when I got divorced, I moved to LA. I moved to the Palisades and it was so debilitating for my love life. Yeah. It was actually like a hindrance and my love life was really important. It was a priority. So I moved. I literally was like, I have to move. I mean, I moved within LA, I moved to West Hollywood, but I would say she should move. if her love life is a priority. Like I even consider moving to New York because I'm like LA, LA is a little bit harder to find men.

1:02:13Completely. Like New York is just so much more social. So yeah. New York is full of men. I'd say move and then you have to make it a priority. But the key is making fun a priority. And by fun, I mean just fun in your life. Like if you're a happy person, you're gonna be attracting the right people. I get a little grumpy when I over date and it's like it's like L after L after L after L I get grumpy so then I gotta take a break get some W's in like my other areas of my life and then come back to it I'm wondering if like what's Santa Barbara adjacent like are there like hot cowboys in San Ynez those Levos are like retired up there like hot guys in Ventura like oh maybe Ojai oh hi i could see that i could see oh hi i would like i if i think if she wants to like settle in santa barbara for her life i would just like open open the mile radius on your hinge situation and like see if it's out there but if it if there's like if you're in like a dating desert then you need to move i think go have an adventure yeah that's why i love i travel like almost every weekend because i love to like i mean every weekend where are you going i went to like went to Vegas last weekend went to Mexico City the weekend before went to New York you went to Mexico City two weekends ago?

1:03:28yeah how did I not see that on my find my? I don't know I think everyone was like annoyed with me so the algorithm was like this girl we're gonna push her I didn't even see that in my algorithm push her stories down I know what you're doing all the time from Instagram I know I miss that you went to Mexico City you went to Mexico City how was it? I feel like there's hot rich men there it was so fun not that rich matters you guys everyone needs to go next year it's art week I'm dying to go so everyone from LA and New York goes and it's just like parties and galleries and openings and you just bop.

1:03:57It was - I can't believe I didn't see a lick of content from you going to Mexico City. It was so much fun. I'm dominating or dying to - I just want to go for like three days, two days. Smooches.edu was - Popping. Was, I mean, my task was crossed off the list. Did you have sex with anybody in Mexico City? I did not. I feel like there's just like hot men down there that would die for you. I had kisses. No, but I was like not in that vibe. I was like, I just want some smooches. Who'd you go with? I went with Kat. fun yeah it was the best we had the best time 48 hours oh yeah it was an easy flight go have an adventure go have a flirt lots of adventures yeah if you don't want to move out of Santa Barbara go have an adventure go have a flirt oh my god yeah are there any other questions we want to answer no those are all the good ones I mean everyone's like where do I meet a man where do I meet a man I know it's always the same it's so sad so I think also the focus shouldn't be like where do I meet a this is what we always talk about it's like you're gonna attract somebody i think that i it's annoying but i think the focus needs to be on other stuff and then it will come it will come yeah you got to be fun happy girl also don't forget to smile mm-hmm don't forget to smile in my marriage sometimes i'll hope like david really responds to me just being like sweet and kind and smiley to him.

1:05:13Men want to be appreciated and they want a happy girl and a sweet girl. That's true. Yeah. Women want to be adored. Men want to be appreciated. Yes. So don't forget to tell them you appreciate them and don't forget to smile. Good ending. Love you, Mandy. Love you.

My cheeks still hurt from laughing about this one. I don't know how these situations keep happening to my funny, hilarious, gorgeous, successful friend, but thank god because one of her true talents is story-telling and how lucky are we to listen! x
