In short
Jacq Gould discusses healing from an eating disorder, rebuilding self-trust through her “inner babe” work, and navigating motherhood and fertility struggles (including IVF/IUI). She also shares how she built her coaching business and practices like a “nourishment menu” and phone boundaries.
Guest background
Jacq Gould is a founder/coach who started her inner-babe work at 26. She advocates therapy plus accountability/community. She previously experienced psychotic disordered eating (restricting, bingeing, purging behaviors) and body-image-driven control. She is a mother (daughter nearly four) and went through fertility treatments.
Key claims
Eating disorders can be symptoms of deeper limiting beliefs like “I’m not enough.” Healing requires action/accountability, not just awareness. Women can change their minds about fertility and timelines. “Inner babe” = intuition/most authentic self; reconnecting to it improves relationships and daily life. Self-care doesn’t need to be extreme—small nourishment acts count.
Notable examples
Outpatient programming reframed eating as a symptom; a fertility “bubble popped” after a doctor called her the wrong name; she chose to stop trying and later described a happier home. She credits meditation and a daily nourishment menu (e.g., drive with music, shower in the dark) for grounding.

0:14Thank you so much for coming on the podcast. Thanks for having me. Have you, what have you been doing since you've been in LA? Have you been having a good time? We've been having a great time. We have an Air One water bottle. Have an Air One water bottle over that basic. It's what we have to offer our visitors. Correct. No, I love it. I love it. I'm kidding. We've been hanging. Like, I feel like my version of LA, I grew up coming here every month. Every month? Every month with my family. How? My parents always loved California, so it's probably why it's in me. Yeah. And so, like, my version of LA is not what I think people would come here to do.
0:46It's like chill. What do you do? What's your perfect LA day? Well, they have a house in Rustic Canyon. Gorgeous. It's like walking around. Yeah. Literally, just the neighborhood is so beautiful. I love the water. Yeah. So close to the water. I just like being outside. I mean, Chicago, the weather is not predictable. So just to be outside is incredible and honestly so good for my soul. Yeah, I need to remember that with my East Coast aspirations that like you can't be outside all the time. It's just so different. But again, we love - Where I live is not walkable. I mean, I live on like a really busy street.
1:19Okay. So it's definitely - It's a different vibe. But Rossi Canyon. It doesn't feel like LA. It feels like you're in Colorado, honestly. There's very cool little, that's why LA is really amazing because there's so many different neighborhoods that are all like vastly different and give like a really different energy. Yeah. But you and I were just talking offline about how like we feel so called to like different places and like different versions of you. Totally. You must notice this in the work you do with people. For sure. I think you, if you're tapped into yourself in any capacity, you feel where you are you more strongly.
1:54Yeah, of course. Yeah. Yeah. Because there's not this. I'll tell you also I'm very happy I'm happy wherever I am yeah like I wake up in the morning I'm like oh look at my beautiful house and what a beautiful drive I get to you know take my daughter to school and like I'm very happy wherever I am but I do want to be aware of how I feel in other places and like the spark that those places bring to me yeah especially for girls like us who are very career oriented for sure and you feel inspired in New York you're not feeling as that's exactly how I feel about Chicago it's great it's beautiful I people love Chicago.
2:27I was born and raised there. So I also think I'm a little desensitized. Yeah. And I just don't feel I can. I mean, I can do my job. I it's whatever. I just don't feel the most me. And so when I'm here, I feel lit up. I feel like I'm the most creative. I feel like I'm the most tapped in. But I didn't always feel that way. Yeah. I hated L.A., honestly, for when I was in college. And before that, I was a drama major. I thought I wanted to do Broadway. And so I and I was really disconnected from myself, really struggling with myself. I was going to say, this is when you had peak kind of like, when did your, I mean, you've very open about this point in your career really stemming from the symptom of an eating disorder.
3:09I always say it's a symptom because it's clearly an internal. I love, I say the same thing. It's important. I mean, all these things that we think are like, there's something else going on. Well, yeah. So actually when I realized that eating was a symptom to a much deeper rooted limiting belief, that was like the biggest discovery I've ever made within myself. Was that through the outpatient programming? Yes. I mean, that's where it started. And then I continued this work and I ultimately became the person that I didn't have when I was going through it and like at the, at its peak. And I bridged this gap that I felt really existed.
3:43I think therapy, I'm a huge therapy advocate. I have a therapist. Love it. But I just think sometimes you need someone who, or some place or a community really think being seen as medicine. You need that extra level of accountability. Someone who can actually help you meet all the awareness you're getting from therapy with some level of action. Absolutely. Cause therapy, which I love is usually me ranting for, I have me need to give context. I'm always like, Dawn, I'm talking really fast here, but I we got a fucking hour and I need your advice, but this is a 30 minute story. Right. And then you get to the end.
4:20And then it's like to remember that all week to be like, oh God, I'm being challenged again. Like this is the practice. Like what it does. I got, you know, to have other moments where you can be like accountable and hear from other women too, because then you do so many like group settings just to rewind. Do you want to just take like a, you know, a moment to talk about how your eating disorder kind of like manifested because I think so many girls. Yeah. I mean, I had psychotic disordered eating that would be categorized as an eating disorder all through. I mean, I would like chew food and throw it up and spit it out and count calories and like binge.
4:57And I mean, like both my sister and I, but I think people think it's probably normal. For sure. It's not. No, I mean, I, my eating disorder started probably way before I even knew, but I think I blocked it out honestly like I think I convinced myself I was fine because I used I was restricting and then I got to college and I it flipped I started binging but like once I when I left for college that's when I was like I don't even I think I'm fine because I had started eating again and then it hit the fan but for me body image has always been and probably always will be like my number one disconnection point like when things are crazy in my life or I'm going through something more emotional or things feel out of control, I have to work much harder to not attack my image because that's, that's my soft place land.
5:44That's just like, I know that place. Yeah, absolutely. Yeah. So the impulse is, is for me to go there, but. How does that manifest for you now? Like restricting or like. No, it doesn't manifest with food at all. It's all. It's just you being like, I'm not pretty right now. I look old or this like, you know, our negative self-serve. Yes. Yes. And we just went through, I have a daughter, she's almost four and we were trying to have a second baby for a little over a year and it was just rough doing fertility treatments. Everything changed. It changed my body. It changed my mind. It changed everything.
6:15And I was so mean to myself, like physically. Every single woman I know that's gone through IVF or IUI or this, by the way, I went through it. I was like gained all this weight. And I was just like my body's not doing what it's supposed to. Yeah. I feel like I'm a disappointment to my partner and I'm fat. No, really. And you're like, cool trifecta. Couldn't wear my clothes, which is so triggering. Like who doesn't want to be able to wear their clothes? And then you're, and I always say this to people. I'm like, you're this little, because it was so hard for me to get pregnant the first time, but it's like little angel soul wants to be in a happy environment.
6:51Correct. And I'm not a happy environment. No, I keep joking still to this day. I'm like my next baby because I know you will have another baby. Totally. But I'm like, they're looking at me being like, mom, no, no fucking chance. You're not well. I'm here too. You're chilling and then I'll show up. You're not, you got to figure it out and then I'll come through. Cause I was like, there's no, I knew, but I think I was so heart set on controlling something I couldn't control. You're a career woman. Yes. And food. I mean, that's what we're, my eating disorder came from. It's all control for me. It's control.
7:22And I think when you are, when you were successful and run a company and then you hop, you know, and you're like, oh, this is my next accomplishment. A hundred percent. Yeah. And underneath the eating disorder, I said like, there's a limiting belief. Mine will always be, I'm not enough. That's just, I mean, I can date it all the way back to really early on in my childhood, just like feeling not enough. Was that from, uh, not to love deep from like a family trauma? Was this from like a moment? it's so funny i literally journaled on it i feel like a lot of girls just kind of like have that though yeah i mean i think it's a for sure epidemic like i think people really struggle with thinking something is inherently wrong with them or they're they're bad in some way that narrative is real and i see it all the time listen i mean i'm big on i love my parents i'm so grateful but i definitely grew up in an environment that was like a breeding perfectionism and so it just, I'm the oldest.
8:21I have two younger brothers. The narrative around me is Jackson. She's got it. She's going to figure it out. So like I've always kind of had to figure it out. I've always, as a performer, I wanted to be the best. I wanted to be able to show something for myself to prove my value. And it, I mean, your body, the way you look, that's one thing, but exactly what you said, like I even think on it now. And I'm like, that was exactly why I was so attached to having this next kid. Cause I was like, I want to show, I want to show that I can't like, let me show you that I can't, you know, all people were like, now's the time, have them close together.
8:54Like, you know, all of the things that people say to you when you have a kid, whatever, with good intentions. But I was like, yeah, now's the time. Let me do it now. And I don't even know if I wanted to or if I just did because I thought I was supposed to. Yeah.

13:33I was very freed by the, my, my heart tells my brain every time I'm pregnant or postpartum and people like say insane things. I'm like, nobody is meaning to be an asshole. No. They're just curious. But the things that people say to you are, you're like, I'm like, and I catch myself doing it too all the time. I'm like, oh my God, do I know? Because it's just like conversation, you know? But you have no clue how badly you could be triggering someone's struggle that they're going on with. I mean, I like have a daughter with autism and people were criticizing things about her for two years before I was like, hi, you fucking assholes.
14:12like we have a fucking issue happening here that like I didn't I don't need to share that live with you as it's happening and I'm processing all these things but not being in control of her has been my biggest it was hard for me to get pregnant with her it was just like everything I needed to learn to like let go because as somebody who has goals she wants to accomplish all the time I can't she can't accomplish like even down to being like my daughter's gonna go to ballet like she can't go to ballet yeah it's like she's no clue how to follow directions and then all the kids are younger than her doing way more and they're like why is she acting like that I mean my mom and I would leave ballet sobbing every time yeah and it's just like but that's not she will do what she wants to do one day and it'll be fine but our timeline is just shifted it's it is an attachment to a timeline that is literally doesn't exist doesn't exist no and I think a lot of the time things end up looking not the way we think they're gonna look or playing out not identically to how we plan, but they always look the way that they're supposed to for the most part.
15:11I mean, I don't think, I really don't think we're given anything that we can't handle. We're not. I really do believe that. So, I mean, I had this whole story about having this next baby. I want to be done by this age that I could focus on my job. And it's like, why? Why? There's so many women say like, well, I needed to have two before 40 or I needed to do this. and I'm like, now my, even my sister and I was like, when we were working out and she was like, when do you want to have another one? And I was like, I don't know. Like, I was like, and I did it and I corrected myself. I was like, well, they should be like this far apart or whatever.
15:46And I said, you know what? If I'm blessed to have another one, they will come when they're supposed to. Yeah. And I will just be open to that journey. And I'm 39. Well, no, I'm almost 39. Like people have kids into their fucking 50. it doesn't matter. Nothing matters. And now that I'm out of it, because I decided in May, after we found out we weren't pregnant again, I was like, I'm done. And people are like, no, no, you can do it. Like you can do. And I was like, no, no, I'm not giving up. I'm just done. Like I need myself back. My husband looked at me and he was like, I want another baby, of course.
16:18And I don't need another baby. I need you. And I haven't had you for a year. And I was like, I haven't had me either. You turn into a monster when you're pregnant. Monster. So it was just ruining my life. And I was like, I love my life. And I have this beautiful kid. Like if it's meant to be, it's going to happen. Absolutely. So, well, God bless you for that because I know how hard that is. Yeah, it was rough, but we made it through and now I'm happy that I went through it, honestly. How does your inner babe and the work that you do with that, how is this like manifested for you in like this process?
16:49Because now you kind of have to like practice, but you preach a little bit here. Oh my God. Yeah. I had to 100%, I think, step outside of myself for a second and realize that it doesn't matter how far along you are in this, in working on yourself or how many tools, you know, like life is still going to ask you to live it. And when it does, it's not about what you're going through. It's about how you show up for yourself. I had to just check myself over and over again. I wasn't going to do it perfectly. I mean, the perfectionist was even coming out and how am I going to get myself through this?
17:16I decided I, what I know I needed to do to move through it. That doesn't mean I'm going to even move through it perfectly or just because I know I can do it doesn't mean I'm going to do it every right way. Yeah. So I really had to practice what I preach. Really. You stopping, you deciding to stop is, I hope everyone listening to this takes that away from this podcast. Yeah. Because I've had the fertility conversation three times in the last five days in New York with girls being like, I'm like, like at like a fashion event, a girl being like, hey, by the way, it's like, how long did it take you?
17:48And I was like, are you, are you freaking out? She's like, I'm freaking out. And it's like not happening. And I was like, stop. Yeah. Yeah. Don't do that to yourself. Yeah. Your baby's coming. We just get all frazzled. And like, by the way, infertility is very fucking real. So real. I don't know why this is happening to everybody. And I know that it's triggering for me to say this. I don't want to undermine anybody's struggle. But it was like a year and a half of trying with Carmela. And I, you know, had like, I was like almost 200 pounds, like with all the things I was doing or whatever. And then I said, I can't do this anymore.
18:23and the first cycle that I did not track my ovulation, did not fuck my husband for the purpose of having a child. We made love after I made him his mother's pasta recipe. We had a baby. I know. See, like that, I could cry. Like that's, that's how it works. And I hate telling that story because it's not going to happen that way for everybody. But I can't tell you how many women I know who like, there's someone in my mommy in me class. She's like, I did IVF. I worked so hard to have my first child. And then the second one was the, now she's like little, now she's like, now I'm back to back boys.
18:55And like, I couldn't, I went from having none to being like, so I was like, isn't life incredible? Incredible. And I think that's the thing, right? Maybe it's not going to happen exactly like that for everybody, but your mind is so powerful. Yes. Like you're literally telling yourself everything to push what you want away from you. That's what I was doing. I was doing it. I was listening to everyone but myself. Someone told me not to do this. Didn't do it. Someone told me to do this. Did that. Like everyone has their stories of like, I got, is it this way? I did it that way. And then you're like, okay, I have to like do the thing.
19:26And changing my mind. I think when I, it was like the, the bubble popped or the curtain drop, whatever it was, when the doctor I was working with called me, she called me the wrong name. When she called me to tell me I wasn't pregnant, but that's a separate issue that we can talk about on another time. But she, Oh, I would love to blast this doctor who tried the car salesman who tried to have me do IVF with him. I would love to put that man on blast. because these doctors are beasts. It was bad, bad, bad. It was bad. That is not a comfy, warm, beautiful environment. It's like, you don't need to coddle me, but like - Know my name.
19:58Hello, you're calling me to tell me I'm not pregnant when you know I really want to be, when I'm going through hell, honestly. Maybe it's self-inflicted, whatever. And you called me the wrong name. And she basically like scoffed at me because I asked her, it was nonsense. So needless to say, the bubble popped. And I, it was like my, I could hear myself yelling at myself to like wake up. And it was in that when I said to my best friend who was there, bless her, she like came over to me and was like, you can do it. Like, it's gonna be fine. And I was like, no, I'm done. And she was like, no, you don't, whatever.
20:29It was when I realized I can't get over how many women don't say I'm done. Like how many women would listen to the, do it for your family. You're so selfish. Get it done. The things that I was telling myself prior to deciding I was done. And I was like, you know what? I think that not that everything has to happen for a reason, but I think that was my lesson was like, listen to you. It doesn't matter how many people told you to start trying. It doesn't matter if she's going to be four in January and you want them to be X. It doesn't matter. What do you want? Because at the end of the day, that's what matters.
21:05Like, listen to you. And so I was like, I just hope anybody who is going through it realizes that they can change their mind. And it doesn't even have to just do with pregnancy or trying to have a baby. It could be anything. But also, have you noticed that since you chose yourself, like isn't your family unit must be the best place, right? Yes. I went to dinner with my husband like last week and I was like, what is something you're looking forward to for the new year? And he was like, oh, we're going that far. And I was like, yeah, let's go. Let's do it. I could say like the next month, but let's talk long.
21:35And he was like, honestly, like just a happy house. Like it was so unhappy and hard and just dark for a minute. And it's like, it's gotten so much better. Like since we took a break, he's like, just like a continuous half, like our, our house again, like our family again. This is a whole other conversation for like another podcast, but like, I just watch women completely lose themselves to their children and this process and the whole thing. And like, it becomes our identity. And I watched the relationships with her husband shift. I watched this like obsession with their child happen. And I, and I'm just like, oof like god bless everybody but i'm just like man like for me like a family unit inclusive of like all people is like really important and that includes my partner and that comes in like i'm my happiest self which i would love to talk about like your work and what you do how at what moment were you like i need to start it's one thing to be like oh there's something missing but at one point we're gonna be like because this is an entrepreneurial decision you know so at what point did you make the choice to like turn this into what you wanted to do professionally?
22:36It's a great question. I think I had this moment, or I don't think I know, I had this moment after a conversation with my Grammy, who was like my everything. She kind of pulled it out of me. And I realized like this gap that I kept talking about, that I kept preaching about, it wasn't going to be filled by someone with a PhD or someone with an MD, or it was nowhere in a textbook. I read everything. I was like, if, if this gap and this space is going to be created, it's going to, I'm going to, I'm going to have to do it. It's going to be me. So I ultimately became the person that I needed. And it's the greatest it's, it's shown me after years now and repeatedly, obviously still moving through things.
23:12Cause again, like I said, it doesn't matter how far you, you're going to still move through shit. That my purpose was always my, or my purpose was always my struggle. Like it was always meant for me. Everything that I've done up until this point it makes sense. And so I just, I set out to be that person and I'm that person every day. And it, I mean, it holds me accountable to being that person for myself, showing my daughter, you know, what it's like to create this foundation with yourself. Cause I think that's the missing piece. No one's, no one's broken. Truly. I mean, we might say like, I'm broken.
23:44You're not, you don't need to be fixed. What we don't have is this skill of relationship. and like that's what I really believe it is is it's a it's a skill you we are taught how to be in one with other people we're never taught really at the end of the day how to be in a relationship with ourselves we're just supposed to know so I've just set out to bridge that that and make sure people know how to do that because it's the foundation of everything in your whole life how did that how old were you when this started when I started your inner babe yeah I was 26. Oh, wow. And I was young. That's amazing.

24:18Yeah. And so what, what did you learn? It's like, you know, everyone wants to be an entrepreneur, which is amazing and everyone can, but what did you learn during that process of like becoming, you know, being accountable for finances and building a team and like a website and social media? I mean, you have employees here with you, You know, it's like you are a company. So what, how, how has that struggle been? Because that's a whole fucking other aspect of this thing. I mean, honestly, I've made so many mistakes. And I think at the end of the day, I mean, I've been, I'm better for every single mistake I made.
24:53We are so much better for all the mistakes. Yeah. I think I resisted who I am as a founder or as a business owner or an entrepreneur or whatever, we want to call it for a long time because I had this image of what I thought you needed to be to run a company. I am a super like heart led founder. I'm incredibly emotional. Like I remember being on calls with people on my team and just like, and crying and being, and then getting off the call and being like, you're so like, why the fuck did you cry? You're the, you know what I mean? You're the owner. I'm like, okay, so I'm going to cry. Like, that's me.
25:24Yeah, you're a heart led person. That's also, it's on brand. And now we'll have meetings and they're like, it's just you, like, this is just you. But I think it's, it's not glamorous at all. and it's, I mean, no. And I'm so grateful for it. Like I am so happy that I'm doing what I'm doing and I'm so grateful that I get to, and that this exists because I couldn't believe in it more, but it's hard. And it was hard through the years because I didn't, I mean, I wore every hat. I still wear many hats. It's, I'm a big trial and error person. Like I try things and it doesn't work and I try again. And I think that's the biggest lesson that I've learned is that, I mean, again, it kind of goes back to changing your mind.
26:04Like it's, it's okay. And, and listening to yourself, that's the biggest thing that I've learned is like, I have to listen to myself. I know at the end of the day, what is best. And I am so grateful for the people that I have around me. The team that I have right now is like, I cry because I've gone through iterations where it was not that. So I'm grateful that I have people who can reflect back to me when I need to see and who don't yes me. And, but I've, I've made a lot of mistakes.
26:38I have always been insecure about how much hair or lack thereof I have had my whole life. And so when I was considering starting to try for a child, I hate to say it, but I was like, oh my God, like everybody loses their hair postpartum. What am I going to do? and I was at a girlfriend's house one day and she just, her hair looked so thick and luxurious and long and healthy. And I said, what have you been doing? And she says, I've been taking Nutrafol. So I bought the postpartum formula. I brought it with me to the hospital. 30:56we've made horrible mistakes yeah like life-changing mistakes by like not doing the right contracts if you use like a cheap lawyer like i'm like not friends with my best friend of 20 years because of like a dumb mistake that like we all make like it's fucking crazy and even my husband last night we like got into like a little bit of a tiff over, it's good for us to have, you know, these like tough conversations when it comes to work. Obviously it keeps like us on our toes and it's, we have that dynamic of our relationship. It was like really interesting. And, and it's funny cause I, I want to push him faster than he wants to be pushed and he knows what he's doing and he like picked up on it.
31:39And we were talking about like a product. And I was like, you should make that in America and make it cheaper. And he was like, that's not what my brand's about. But, and I was like, but you could sell a lot more he said I'd rather sell less and like not cheap in my brand and I was like aren't you worried about and he was like do you think I don't know what I'm doing and I was like no but he's like you don't think I know what I'm doing and then he was just was like listen to me he's like I know what I'm doing he's like I know like and like explain and I was like you're right like I have to let you be like fuck me for like talking to him like that but I had to I'm like what you said about like you always know like he he knows totally and I know too with my stuff you know what I mean like I'm about to raise money for other company it's like I know what I'm doing there too and so it's it's like interesting when you're doing it like with it in like a partner dynamic too or like like you have these conversations everybody has opinions but like you're truly like so much of this podcast is just like your intuition is like always what's going to you in the right place.
32:38A hundred percent. And I'm spiritual like that. I just think we know, um, we always know it's when we don't have to listen or we, I mean, we could choose not to, but we know. And when you choose not to, something bad always happens. Correct. Or it digs, it like digs its heels and you have to learn the lesson again and again and again until you do. I have olive oil, by the way, in my kitchen. Oh my God. Isn't it so fucking good. Yeah. I have it like, I won't, it sits out. I like love the bottle. I think it's. Thank you so much because the, The, it's really, I mean, the family that we work with that makes olive oil is like really the best in the world, but it's, it is an object.
33:13Totally. It's like this very important object. Yeah. We're expanding into many other categories and we're going to make the half-sized tins now. Love that. Because people don't need, again, like the average olive oil, your average person. And we're doing a rebranding right now, but we're keeping it. It'll look very similar. Okay. but my this was an intuition moment is like we're doing this whole process and I was like that's not our logo dumb stuff like that but I was like I was like that's not my logo I was like that doesn't have anything to do with like where I see everything else going and I like stopped and I was rushing to like raise money to get to market before Christmas and I was like it's okay if we miss another Christmas I want this to be right this is a lifetime decision so I mean we also should be applying that to dating because no but so many So many things.
34:03I think we try and rush. But at the end of the day, I mean, you know. Yeah. I think that's what it boils down to. I was like, it's not the B. Like, that's not the B that I'm supposed to see for the rest of the day. I feel that way about my brand right now, too, honestly. And I like beg for a rebrand, but I have to take time. You have, I have to take time. It's okay to, yeah, it'll happen when it's supposed to. It's like, that's been also a big lesson for me with this brand. It's like, I wanted to do this and everyone's doing that. And I'm like, it's not my time right now. it'll when it'll all come together like exactly as it's supposed to yeah and i went through like a major evolution like i said of the team lost i mean let go of a relationship that was really toxic and that is still in the brand so it's like that i can see it oh no one else would see it i just i see it and i'm like we gotta i was that move that i made letting it's like an ex-boyfriend and his furniture is still in your fucking place no correct or like the wall color you painted together or something like that.
34:54No, no, it's giving me the egg. It's so funny. Yeah. So I'm so proud of the move that I made to let that part of my life go. But like, I'm ready. Let's turn it over. Yeah. So tell everyone about like what the inner babe is. Yeah. Your intuition. So cool. Yeah. Your most authentic self is what I would call your inner babe. We all have one male, female. It doesn't matter who you are. You have one. And the more connected we are to ourselves, the louder that voice is. And that's what I strive to do is help people connect to that voice. And I think once you're connected to that voice, you hear that voice louder than any other voice.
35:31You hear it so much. Yeah. You can't not hear it. And then you even see yourself clearer. And what, when somebody like signs up to be, do the program, like how did you, what was the process like of being like setting up like what the program is too? I started one-on-one with people. I always have felt passionate about group. All the most transformative work I've done in myself has been in group format. I always felt passionate about group. I knew I wanted to get there in the beginning. I started one-on-one with people though, because I, I tested a 12 week program with like 16 people for free until I was positive it worked.
36:02And then it just, I went through actually like a period of darkness in 2019 and through that darkness, it came my first group program. Amazing. Yeah. It was when I realized my messaging was all wrong. I had like been saying, I see you, I got to the other side, I'm going to help you get there too. And I was like, that's true. I will help you get to the other side of not trusting yourself. But like all my shit came with me And i'm still gonna go through stuff. So it's not about the periods of disconnection that happen It's like again, what do we do when they do? And so that's what reconnected which was is my signature group program I've been doing it now since 2019 That's where it came from and that's like what it's it's meant to do is like help somebody build a foundation Within themselves learn the skill And learn how to practice it every day And you have like an eight-week program that's reconnected that's reconnected Yes.
36:51How many different programs do you offer? Now I have reconnected recharge. Recharge is the second one. It's 12 weeks. It's more maintenance. We're reconnected is the foundation. Recharge meets you in the moment that you're in. Okay. So it's every week. It's for somebody who, you know, feels like they know how to connect to themselves or they know what they get to do if they choose to do. But this is more intuitively led in a group. How many women are in the group? 15. And obviously this is online, right? Yes, that's virtual. and then I run retreats, which are three days. And how often do you do the retreats?
37:25Right now, twice a year, but I would like to do three. Cool. Yeah. I love them so much. Where do you do them? In New Buffalo, Michigan. Beautiful. So it's really off. It feels like you're off the grid. We take everyone's phones. It's called disconnect to reconnect. Fuck me. Hand in your. It's just make me sprock out. And I, and which tells me I need to do it. I mean, I think everybody who comes is terrified. We have people who are like, like shaking, handing their phones. I have, I would die. Yeah. I mean, when I went to my first thing where I got rid of my phone, I was like, I didn't know how to turn it off.
37:53I was like, can someone show me how to turn this off? We're addicted. It's the truth. And like, I've had people come and we find out they have another phone. I'm like, can I do your phone? It's like, the more you give, the more you get. Like truly, the more you let go, the more you you're going to let in. My husband's really concerned about my phone. Yeah. Yeah. So is mine. He like brought it up. He like walked into our bedroom the other night and he was like, I have to say something.
38:17Jacq Gould:And I was like, what the fuck? Like, I was like, that's going to be anything. And he was like, you're on your phone all day. And I was like, well, it's work. And I have to be, you know, gave every like bitch ass excuse for being on my phone all day. And it's like, I don't need to be on my phone all day. No, no. I do look at it all day. Just like my, it's just like my frequency now. Totally. My home screen got jumbled somehow. I was like, I was tweaked. I was literally tweaked. I was like staring at him like, what, what app moved? because now this whole thing's messed up. Like I was going for an app that was in the corner that wasn't there.
38:52And I'm like, I fixed it. Isn't it wild how you just don't even have to, I noticed that the other day. I was like, I know where fucking Shopmaya is. Like, I know. I know. And I delete Instagram off my phone on the weekends. I feel like it's saved me, honestly. But I still go for it, even if it's gone. Like I still swipe for it. You delete it on the weekends. That might be, it's like, that's just a scary thing for me to think about, but I should do it. It's scary because, I mean, but it's also, you do it a couple times and you're like, I actually love this. I'm going to look forward to it. I need to do it.
39:24My husband really appreciate that. And I like doing things. I do like a recap on Monday. I'm like, this is what I, you know, I was present with my family. Yeah. Because I actually was. Yeah. Versus not being. I know. I don't want to be in my phone around my kids, but I noticed myself like grabbing it. And then now they want it. Correct. I was just saying, my daughter wants my phone all the time. Can I take a picture? My one-year-old wants the phone. Yeah. And he goes. I'm like how the fuck do you know to squirrel? It's because he's also that second kid too. He's just like. Yeah whatever. Someone came over the other day from my neighborhood and he had one of those like spinny what are they called?
39:57Where you like mix your matcha with it? Oh a whisk. Like an electronic whisk. And he was walking around with it like in his mouth. I knew that it wasn't charged but this mom was like are you? And I was like fine. Totally. He's good. I was like unless that thing miraculously has battery and then he won't have a tongue or teeth. to literally knock out his whole mouth. But no. I'm so worried about being an uptight mother that I'm too chill of a mom. Really? Mm-hmm. I am, I think I'm like a first time mom. Like still, even with an almost four year old. Like there are things where I'm like, and then there are things where I'm not.
40:30But I don't know. I'm a little more nervous. What are things that you do throughout the day that help like center you and allow you? Because, you know, obviously you have these amazing programs but I'm sure you have to have a massive many practices during the day all day long. Starting my morning is like huge for me. Okay. And I think starting it with me, period. It can look like five minutes. It can look like 45. It doesn't necessarily the amount of time. That's something big I've learned this year specifically is I was really attached to it. Being like, we do 25 minutes. I meditate for 25 minutes and then I write, you know.
41:05And if I can do that, that's amazing. But if I can't, then it doesn't mean I can't do something. anything like a small act still makes a difference. Absolutely. And we hear everybody's fucking morning routine all the time, too. So you're just like, make me at 530. And you're just like, am I supposed to be waking up at 530 and meditating for 20 minutes? Wellness fatigue. Yeah. I also think one big thing that I care about people realizing after they do this work is that it it doesn't have to be so extreme. And it actually you could find yourself in things that you do already during the day. Like it doesn't have to be meditation, journaling, working out those things are great and if those are nourishing to you then amazing but I just what I really make it a point to do is pick at least one act of nourishment for myself each day so I have something called a nourishment menu it's literally on my phone it's on my in my notes app I have it pinned it's a list of things that like make me feel good what are what's on the list things like going for a drive and listening to music windows down or like I have Jeep.
42:03So the fun, it's so fun. Like I love that. Or honestly, like taking a shower in the dark or like looking into my kid's eyes or feeling sun on my face or getting my hair blown out. So it's things that cost money, but also don't have to. It could be things like reading a book. If you love reading or make making a matcha, whatever is nourishing to you. But I, I will choose something intentionally every day to do for myself. Cause that grounds me back in me. And what is your, sorry, I said to you, even if it's just five minutes, are you journaling in the morning? Meditating for me is like number one.
42:35Fuck. For me. I know. For me, that's key. It works so amazing for so many people. I need to, I need to like tap into that a little bit. But meditation doesn't, it can, it can manifest in different ways. Totally. But that's what I mean. Even with this, this nourishment menu that I have is like it, you can find meditative moments in things without closing your eyes and finding stillness. Like I find meditative moments when I'm cleaning my house. Yeah, absolutely. Or organizing my closet. My husband's like, it's my favorite thing about him when he needs to ground himself or he does it when he feels like a little out of control.
43:12And he also does it when he's feeling really good. He cleans his car and he like makes it so romantic and he puts music on and he'll put our son in the car and like he'll clean the car and he shines his shoes. Oh, cute. He like sits there like an old man and shines his shoes. and it's really cute. And he puts his headphones on his music. So he's like in his own little zone. And I'm like, he's nourishment menuing. And he doesn't even know it. I love your nourishment menu today. He's going to be like, what the fuck? No, but I, I have a client actually who put a diet Coke on her nourishment menu.
43:43And she was like, I used to just drink it and be gone. And she was like, I'm going to make this, I'm going to romanticize my diet Coke. I'm going to like get the ice that I want and the lime that I want. And I'm going to like sit with myself and have the fucking Coke as opposed to forgetting that I just had the Coke. because I think that's the biggest thing is we can make it a whole day. That's a very good example of how to take something that you would never think. That then just becomes this thing that you're doing and then like stopping and enjoying something. Yeah. That's so beautiful. Well, that's.
44:10And I love a diet cook. We love a fridge steak. Tell me. Yeah, literally, right? No, I think that's what's important to me is making sure that I don't put too much pressure on myself for anything to be what makes me feel me. like I can find me in anything. You know what trend I saw on TikTok that I love? And then like Tinks actually like responded to it. It was like, unfortunately, I do like I just did that today. And Tinks was like, why are all these things unfortunate? No, totally. She was like, when did the pendulum swing so fucking hard that like if we're not waking up at four to like meditate and do like a hot class and get our red light and like do this, that like just being normal is like this thing that we have to like post about as extreme.
44:56And I feel that trying makes me so happy because I'm like, we all just are as girls. We're all girls. We're just like, it's real. I always say that. I'm like, this life is real. So like, let's let it be real. Like stop trying to make this something that you wouldn't even want to do. Yeah. Like you don't want to, you're not doing it because you don't want to do it because you have this expectation of yourself to do it in a way that isn't authentic to you. You must learn so much from these like group. it must be so fulfilling all the time to like hear other women light each other up too you know everything it's honestly it's it's a dream to witness because i didn't have that yeah and i have always felt like since i've started doing this that my gift is being able to see somebody before they can see themselves and watching somebody see themselves through somebody else like medicine.
45:47Yeah, well, we're so fucking disconnected. Yeah, we're really disconnected. And if you just put a bunch of people in a room, it's really wild what magic can happen. I think you give women the space to tell the truth. This was like my high school did this senior year. They would take the girls and put them on like a retreat for three days and you would see like the dork and the smart girl and the popular girl and this and they would all just come out of that. It was called Kairos. Kairos. Yeah. We had Kairos. I didn't go. I was a Kairos leader. Of course you are. I feel like I see that for you.
46:17I feel like you would have slated. Well, because they just needed someone to be vulnerable. And they were like, Pia, we'll share. Because you have to go first. You need someone to go first. And then you have to share. And I just remember thinking at such a young age. This is also so random. It was really informative too. It was like the same year that like Oprah retired. And her last episode, someone was like, of all these episodes and all these interviews and all these women and all these things. Like think about this massive career that she had had on television every day. They were like, it was kind of like, what did you get out of this?
46:49And she was like, we all just want to connect to each other. Like period, end of story. And so it was really like doing Kairos as like a senior, like hearing that from Oprah, who was like a God to me. And then doing that retreat and seeing that, like if you just give girls space to be together and take away all the other like outside stuff, that there's just, it's just in our, it's as a species. It's what we're looking for so much. I give action steps at the end of every group session and recharge. The action step is dependent on like what we do that night. Cause again, it's not a structured program.
47:26It's like, I read the room and this week their action step was literally like, I want you to text someone different from this group every single day. A simple, like how you doing is enough, but like loneliness is going to grow in silence. So we're all feeling exhausted and depleted, reach out and connect because they do it on the screen. I'm like, and they all feel like this insane shift. I'm like, do it in your day-to-day life. Like, but again, with intention, I think that's the biggest thing is like, don't just do it to do it. Do it because it's something that like is meant for you in that moment.
48:00So if someone wants to sign up for your inner babe, what are just really quickly, like what exactly are you, are you available for in this moment for new clients? Recharge. Okay. That is, it runs honestly throughout the year. I'm going to start fall recharge in a few weeks. It's seasonal. So like summer, I did summer and we'll meet winter. Like it will be eight weeks, 12 weeks. Reconnected is the eight week program, but it's under construction. I'm saying because I'm actually going back to the drawing board. It just needs a judge. Cool. I'm like feeling really excited about it. It's going to come back and be amazing, but it needs a judge.
48:36So I'll run that in the new year. Okay. But recharge and retreat. I have my fall one coming up in October and then I'll run another one in April. And how many women go to the retreat? It used to be 40. I'm now doing 27. I want it a little bit more intimate. Yeah. 40 is a lot of people. 40 is a lot of people. 27 is also a lot of people, but 40 is a lot of people. Yeah. 27 is like a, it's a random number, but it's a, it's the number. Amazing. And this probably, it's so funny. I like have so many women that are like dying to do something. And like in LA, it's very like popular to do like Hoffman.
49:08I did Hoffman. But it's so hard to get into. It's impossible. Yeah. And so, you know, something like this is just so much more attainable and manageable. Totally. You know, to just connect with the episode that I came out with this week is one of my best friends. She puts together a group of our high school best friends and they talk like biweekly. She gives them a prompt. Oh, I love that. I know. I know. It's, it's, and I think sometimes weekly things are hard for people or they like talk themselves out or they're like, I can't make a commitment every week. Also doing this amongst friends is very vulnerable and weird, but it doing it guided with someone like you and, and connecting to strangers.
49:44I also think feels more impactful than totally. I mean, it's always good, but you have your friendships and they know you, but like, it feels almost like more of a safe space to like have somebody like have no context for you. It's like your rough draft, like put it all here. But I think giving yourself like those three days. People, people walk away from the eight weeks of reconnected with this like pink cloud feeling. That's what they talk about. I was like, we're going to make it happen in three days. And we do like, it's, it's magical. I'm sure it really is. Oh my God. God bless you for doing that.
50:11It's bringing so much goodness into the world. It's just, it's, I don't have a choice. And it's amazing that this gets to be your job. It is. It's such, it's a gift. Okay. Tell me what you have in your hands. So this is the reconnection deck. You sell this on your website. I sell this it. It's beautiful, by the way. Thank you so much. This is my beat up deck that I take everywhere with me, but it is 50 cards. Okay. We're familiar with tarot cards, Oracle cards, love them. But I believe at least you kind of have to outsource for that answer when you pull those. You either have to have someone pull for you or like open a book and decode the message.
50:43And I really wanted something that anybody could use you, your husband, your grant, like whatever, at any point throughout your day to connect, to ask yourself for a message and receive it. So have you noticed that energetically like the right card always gets pulled up oh this deck's magic i'm like really excited for you to pull it my heart's pounding no we love that okay so do me a favor okay just i'm gonna shuffle but you close your eyes and put your hands in your heart and just breathe and just kind of check in ask yourself how you're feeling do i know a cute trick that my intuitive taught me please to do a little like flip up my thumb over my heart to like turn on my heart.
51:23Oh, I love that. No, it's been very helpful. We'll pass it on. So just ask yourself, how am I feeling? How are you? Is something you ask everybody. Ask yourself.
51:36Okay. Okay. And then ask yourself for a message. What do I need to hear? What do you want me to know? Okay. Okay.
51:46I'm going to spread this out on the table. Can I open my eyes? Okay.
51:56Jacq Gould:Why am I nervous?
52:04You get three cards. Okay. Pull from wherever you feel called to pull from first and flip it over. Okay. And read it.
52:15I am miraculous. Why do I want to cry? This is so cute. It's a really special deck. Right now, just remember that you can start where you are. You don't need to wait until this or that is perfect. It's actually what lies within the imperfect that provides you with the lessons for your growth. So begin where you are in any way you know how or can. The rest will follow miraculously. So that's your first card. Pull again, wherever you feel called to pull from.
52:46I am accepting. You're no longer on a timeline that requires, This is exactly what we talked about. It's crazy. You're no longer on a timeline that requires you to play small or dim your light. Remember who you are, live in your power and choose to vibrate higher today. Literally, you started this by saying, I can do whatever I want. Yep. Okay, so now, bottom of the deck. I know you were. Hold that. I am resilient. those three minutes you have to spare today before your next meeting or those six minutes you rust through before you need to leave the house choose today to fill those consciously with you choose to fill them with your breath and with your presence this allows your nervous system to shift into a state of calm and connectedness you strengthen your capacity to handle stress in this way you tone your inner resilience this way you expand your ability to feel safe being you this way i literally this was my entire therapy session on monday get out mm-hmm she was just like how like you need to find those minutes in the day to like reconnect so you can respond to things from a calm state you're resilient I love that so those yeah please do those are your that's your message great thing to keep with you at all times this is a great gift it's such a good gift we people give gifts it's going on every gift guide I do this year because this is genius.
54:15Thank you. I love it so much because it actually works. It's, it's magical. So what a great gift to give someone like the gift of them becoming like a better fucking person. Yeah. And trusting themselves. Thank you so much. I love this. I'm so happy. Perfect. Well, thank you so much for coming on the podcast. Where else can people find you? Instagram. Yeah. Great. Jack Gould. I'm there. Which is very helpful. I'm full of like beautiful quotes and it's nice. Every time I have someone on you, I'm on or on the podcast like you, I'm like, we need our feeds to be full of positive things. I mean, I also love to write.
54:50So everything I write is coming from my heart. Yeah, good. All right, well, thank you. Thank you.

Jacq shares how those experiences not only shaped her personally but also fueled the creation of her company, Your Inner Babe, a platform and community dedicated to helping women reconnect with themselves, reclaim their worth, and step into their fullest potential.
We talk about the messy middle of healing, the courage it takes to rewrite your story, and the beautiful transformation that can come from the hardest seasons of life. This is a powerful episode about vulnerability, growth, and using your own journey to light the way for others.
