In short

A couple’s conversation with Davide about life in New York vs LA, parenting routines and travel without “anxious attachment,” relationship intimacy with two young kids, and business/social-media advice, plus a long anecdote about a New York restaurant waiter offering a “free beer” that flustered Davide.

Guests

Pia Baroncini (host; married; mother of two, Carmela and Carlos/Carmela mentioned; runs a store; posts on Instagram). Davide Baroncini (Pia’s husband; from Queens; described as not a “quick sex” partner; enjoys “boys nights”; works/has a store schedule). Other named people appear only as references: Hillary (friend), Michelle (cousin), Dave (Queens friend), and various restaurant staff.

Key claims

New York feels more communal and overstimulating; LA can feel socially detached. Their parenting is aligned and they avoid arguing about kids in front of children. Sex/intimacy works through buildup and sensuality, not “quick” impulses. Social media matters for startups only if you commit fully.

Notable examples

Minetta Tavern rainy Saturday; meeting Dave and his dog; Davide’s “short-circuit” when a wet, young waitress offered a free beer; breaking a wine glass after getting too drunk; Carmela’s preference for routine and staying with Nona.

00The following podcast is a Dear Media production.

31i wasn't i was expecting you to be david baroncini welcome back there we go probably if you gotta do it do it i like otherwise hello everyone thank you for having me thank you thank you thank you did you have a good weekend i had i had a beautiful weekend yes i was just on the phone with hillary and she was like what'd you do this weekend and she went to like some crazy fun wedding and like everyone was there and she's like up till four both nights and like had so many stories to tell me and i was like well friday we took the kids to true foods and then we fell asleep on the couch watching hook that's right masterpiece masterpiece must wait you know what usually one of the no jokingly one of the most beautiful movies i ever made wish that I had easy access to.

22I'm not going to look for it right now, but there's a TikTok that gives like facts about old movies. And there was one about Hook and there were so many crazy facts about filming the movie. And one of them was that, and I hate to spread rumors about people being difficult, but because she doesn't have a reputation for this, but apparently Julia Roberts was like difficult on set because all her scenes she was by herself and she felt isolated because she didn't really really act with anybody else. Also because she had to play Fingerbell. Because of a special effect where such of a She was like in another room.

04Correct. So they had to make it look like she plays the Yeah, so she was just acting by herself the entire time. The little Would you call her? She's playing the fairy now. oh yeah fair i thought you said furry yeah great movie it's a great movie but also you know julia robert like whenever i heard stories about this giant it kind of it kind of rains on me like i don't care when when an actor i don't care either director or an artist or a musician i i love the art that they are producing i don't need to know the only thing i found interesting about the fact was that it was because she was alone the whole time.

47Losing her mind, bro. We went to New York. It was so much fun. Yeah, we had a great weekend in New York, which was... Describe Pia in New York. A very successful portion of my wife campaign to move back to the East Coast. Describe my personality in New York versus Los Angeles. A match. It's a match. No, but joking aside, now, besides you loving the place and, of course, thriving in the East Coast environment, I have to admit that in terms of energetically, it feels different. and energetically feels way more. And I will add, of course, this is a landscape with so many people, so many cultures, so many.

45It's just, it's like being a kid in New York all the time. You are overstimulated by so many inputs. And for people that love people like us and for dynamics minds and for people that, you know, we love so much human connections and is a big, big part, huge part of what we do. So, yeah, it's, New York is the funniest, the funniest playground. It's the most interesting. And the majority of the people involved in what we do lives on the East Coast. So it's normal. Then you come back home and, of course, you appreciate certain things about. Yeah, just for the record, like I'm happy wherever I am.

41Yeah, where you put me, I stay. Yeah, I'm not one of those people that's like, oh, my God, like I can't. And listen, I speak about, I posted something in my stories about feeling that there was just so much more camaraderie amongst women in New York. and I literally got a hundred responses from people saying that they felt the exact same way. In general, I would say men and women. And I got one response from somebody who said, I totally disagree. But it was, I like looked at her previous messages to me and it was like kind of just her like disagree, like in a conversation with herself to me just disagreeing with like everything that I post.

20And I was like, okay, there's a theme here. But like. Which is something, it's something that I'm fascinated by. When people repeatedly, is that a word? Yeah. Try to, or repeat, by the way. Try to. Repeatedly is the word. Communicate with you and they use a very critical. Yes, it was just, it was like, it was like three years of criticisms. Direct. Like I love when they're like out of the blue. Reference of a jacket. Yeah. What album? You get very funny. demands in your DMs because I obviously look through your films. We don't know each other. This is a brand. You know that it is my brand, but ideally you can direct any other brand than knowing that somebody's going to give you any answer of whatever you want.

15Anyway, I love that. But besides whatever... Oh my God, look how cute Carmela is passed out in her bed right now. Carmela is the cutest person. It's my favorite person. And Carlos' camera is disconnected. I feel like I got to go down there and get it. You probably knocked it off. Yo, bro. You're a bad boy. Look at this photo I took of. Oh, man, I can't. She's so beautiful. She's such a cute, happy dude. And it's interesting, but for instance, somebody like Carmela, I've always been fascinated by the way she reacts to New York and Paris. She loves New York. I was afraid, I was scared that she would react in an over-round place, in an over-round way, and she would be like, you know, instead she was, she's always been so happy in New York for some reason.

10She's the best. what about listen day by day life is of course different but but like you said before I like to think about as a family as a micro system literally I would be down to live with you and the kids anyway like if life were to bring us I know we could go anywhere to

35Mauritius no the one I say I stay because then people are like what do you what's wrong with Milwaukee what's wrong with Tennessee like I would be happy to live anywhere with you guys. Thanks. I'd be happy to live anywhere with you. You guys are home for me. You know what I was thinking about today, Simone? Oh, sorry. I feel that we will do the same thing we do here in another place. Yeah, of course. Of course. Pasadena is magnificent. Pasadena. A magnificent frame. I was talking to my cousin Michelle today and she, whatever, was asking me about New York and we were talking. and what about we had like the perfect new york saturday where we like sat outside of finales like ran into people perfect new york no it was like perfection it was like the rain left the us open raw dogged minetta tavern they had a fucking table for us i started crying when we sat down at the table because the smell of minetta of minetta tavern it's just it's like it's like beer soaked old wood it's like and it's felt very good felt very good to be there it's it's undeniably also people are so willing to because you're sharing tiny spaces people are better another thing i realized in la i could easily if i don't go to the store you don't see anybody no no i could easily not talk to somebody for like two days easily totally i could decide to that be my yeah and i would be able to in your people are very happy to to connect way more happy to by the way by the way if you didn't work in a store and you had like an office that you went to to work by myself in an office all the time well like at least you know and i know that you get like very exhausted by the interactions at the store because if anyone's worked retail or been like a waiter, like people just suck energy out of you when it's all day long and you're on and you're selling something and you're telling your story over and over again.

39But like without that, oh my God. Anyway.

32Getting back to the New York day, we walked around, ran into people that we love, Emmett and not God, met up with my boy Dave, like went to Finnelly's, sat outside, got a table outside. I still love how you use all these New York accents when you talk about it. No, I wasn't. And that girl For now Ran into Dave And his dog Ran into Dave From Queen What a legend And the guy full Oh my god I've known Dave since I was like 18 years old I've known Dave for 20 years He's from Queens By the way Forget about the night I'm getting on a plane. By the way, he listens. He told me this is one of my one of my consistent friends.

28Like if I'm in New York, like when Dominic and I were dating, Dave would meet up with us just to like walk from one side of Manhattan to the other. Like Dave's like, Dave is a New York man. Dave is one of those people in America that truly makes me miss the time in Italy where I could sit down with somebody and talking about nothing for the entire day. You know what's funny too is you'll spend like three hours with Dave and then like, Because we were with him for like five hours And then like on the fifth hour Is when we were like laughing the most Like crying Now we're crying But Dave is so funny because like We meet up with Dave This is all I dream of And the girl walks by and is like That's what it is Wait That's all I dream of I have multiple stories to tell right now One of them is that Dave has known me forever.

30Dave is also the first person to make fun of me. He's known me for so long in that capacity. He's got this thick accent because he's from Queens. He's smoking a cig outside of Finale. He looks at me like, the podcast with Amanda was really funny. I was like, what? He's like, yeah, I've been listening to the podcast. I was like, yeah, I don't even want to cry. I'm like, please don't listen to me on the podcast. My point is, he's going to listen to this which is amazing i'm i'm a huge fan of yours you know how many hours i spent shit talking with dave in the back of the bowery or like anywhere he's just the best another funny story from that day is we were all sitting outside and it was raining so it was like the best day because we're with great we're with great people if i feel in front of you there's no way i'm gonna see each so funny so it's raining it's like a perfect like warm hot new york day where it's like pouring rain but we were in like the perfect raining table outside we like weren't getting rained on so where we were is like one of the tables that's like off like in the street outside of the sidewalk anyway so it's a million it's like you know it gets like very humid before like the rain starts so the fans were on so everyone's like kind of sweaty and then the rain is hitting and we're like, we drank that day.

57I mean, I must've had five margaritas. I mean, we sat there for out for five hours, probably. I'm not kidding. Cause we got there around noon and we maybe, maybe the latest we got there was one and we left there at seven, seven to 30 or something. I mean, it was crazy. It was the perfect day. Anyway. So I've had like a million margaritas but davide is facing me and his back is towards the restaurant so when the waiter or waitress would walk towards us it would walk up next to davide but you also give some context i'm giving context i'm giving context so it's a hot day it's raining no but it's raining guys it's raining we get it there's a fan and there's this waitress that works there who's fucking hot.

43Adorable girl. She's hot and adorable. It's a killer fucking mix. You did the exact perfect description. She's cute and hot and very nice. Girl next door. This girl has, by the way, this girl is wearing a very low cut dress and has giant boobs. So I'm not, I'm not. I wouldn't let you say that. Yeah, I'm not, like, I'm not, like, she, no, like, I wear, like, I wear, I'm naked a lot. And so when people look at me when I'm dressed like that, I'm like, yeah, baby. Like, this girl knew what she was doing. She had on a tiny dress and was bending over and she had, like, little perfect, like, booty shorts on under her dress.

29So she was, like, openly bending over. Very, very respectfully, though. Yes. She's working on a bar. She's working. But she had on like the miniest of mini dresses and her hair is like, her face is so beautiful. And she has this long, long, long brown hair. And she's got these like big doe eyes. She has this big, perfect, sweet smile. And she's 20 and change. She's in her 20s. So she walks up and was like, what did she offer? Was it a free beer? By the way, in all these, I had already two margaritas, a spritz, and a beer, and a peron. And I'm talking to Dave. That is locked into a story. And I'm correct.

16I am completely, like we're talking about business, I don't remember. And you're sitting next to me, by the way. I'm facing you. My wife is facing me. What's sitting next to me? Emmett is sitting. You're in between Emmett and Dave. emily is sitting next to me and it's raining guys but but like so the the the okay okay and she walked by put herself under this tiny little space between the the cover of our boot and the outside the fan the fan is a fan on her is blowing on her and she's wet full her boobs are wet her Her face is wet. This fan is. She's beautiful. And she goes, does somebody wants a free beer?

06But in a way, I turn and she's like now like, sorry. Yeah, your eye level to her boobs. Basically is here. And I turn and for, let's say. Davide. Realistically, huh? Short. Seven seconds. Davide. I short. my brain had a short circuit you have a cold beer in there it was in your hand and the whole table and the beer is perfect the glass is no it's a frosty frosty glass frosty glass of beer in his face do you want a free beer david a short-circuited and we all died but i've known this man for 10 years because you all realized my faith i can't help myself i'm And we all went, and I was like, babe, the fan, your dress, your face.

59I was like, you just made my husband short circuit. I've never seen this happen. But it was such a genuine. It was so innocent and sweet. She laughed. She was very, I don't know how to say this, zero malaise in this girl. Like, she was very, very genuinely. Oh, my God. She's a fucking, an innocent angel pie delivering a free beer looking like a fucking angel. Like it was the cutest thing. And I'm like, of course. But Davide was like, hubba da hubba da hubba da. Like steam coming out of his ears. I had five seconds of understanding. Okay. Imagine opposite way. Let me try to think about like somebody that you recently said, how beautiful is that person?

44You know what happened when you went to check on the car last night? Imagine that guy that worked yesterday at the sushi spot. Yeah, he and I had a moment last night. Okay, imagine that guy under the rain with, instead of his uniform, like an open. With his dick and bulged up. With this like shirt, a bottom down, a white bottom down. I know, I know. And his curly wet hair. And he, you said the perfect example because he's the male version of that girl. Like, by the way, guys, 6 '2". No, our waiter last night was like. Blood curly hair. I got like lost in his. Blue eyes, perfect profile. I'm like, what are you doing?

21Dude, what are you doing? What are you doing working in it? Like, what's the matter with you? And imagine the opposite. Him with a frozen margarita, skinny margarita, looking at you and is like, does anybody want a skinny margarita? And you would be like having the same exact react. She was also too close. Like, it was a mix of too many things. Like, she also got me off guard. So I'm like, hold on, you too close? My brain is like, my brain is processing a bunch of things that should have been. It's so funny. I'm like a sensor. It's like my Tesla sensor didn't. Well, I'll tell you this. You know when Tesla cars don't recognize the bicycle next to it?

59Like my sensor didn't. Davide is very much on the spectrum and. Look at that. Sorry. I mean, it's very clear. And this was you, you got overstimulated. And you shut down. For five seconds. then what i thought was really funny and i was telling this to my cousin michelle today is that the perfect examples of finale sorry if i interrupt you the guy that works there strong kind of a bear sort of personality guy talk very little handled the place like you know he's so cool he's the he's such a new yorker looked very he's like beautiful but like old and rough looking at first and kind of friendly and then he walked like i have a lighter and he offered me a cigarette to get a lighter from me and i said to him you know what we're taking your table really too long and say to me no worries buddy like no worries we're good in a such of a cool way very cool way another thing i realized yesterday night you say that LA is very the people that work in LA are a little bit detached from you all the time unless you don't know them or they know you yeah yeah yeah no no when you go to a New York restaurant or bar it those are your people and they come from all over the world and there's like a ruggedness to them but then like right under the service there's like a sweetness what did he say did he want to say?

31no we asked him he spoke he was speaking in Croatian what is it? he said Serbian sorry but he was like Yeah, I think his mom was serving and his dad was something else. He's such a beautiful mix. His eyes were so beautiful. But, like, all these characters. But, by the way, like, I can, like, recall, like, the cast of characters of people. Like, the bartender at Mineta. The bartender at J.G. Mellon. Disco, who used to do the door at Bungalow Aid. The guy at the barbary. They were talking about the beard and I was joking with him. So elegant. Like, cool cast of characters everywhere. But there's, like, a warmth.

06We're like, people here. It's like you go to this. It's like, you know, I don't know, whatever. Anyway, I don't want to talk about it. So I was talking to my cousin Michelle today about about I was like, yo, I I can be very drunk and still like compose myself. But I was like, I embarrassed myself so bad in front of Davide. We really got back to our hotel room and I was like, I'm not drunk. I'm going to just change really quick. And I threw my bag on the table and broke that wine glass. yeah and then you didn't see the little like you were like what do you say and you just stepped off like a little you remember like in front of the bathroom door there is a little little step a ledge did i fall no you like no i don't remember that you're about to tell me like what are you trying to say that i am any like step on the video like all i remember is you all i remember is you like you were like I got it and like looked at me and kind of like sweet husband like I'm just gonna fix this and to myself I laughed I was like oh my god like I'm embarrassed but like I'm really drunk and like you were just like great time oh my god I love to have a great time with you I love to have a great time with you too of course we have the best time together

So whether that's clothing or your sheets, you want something that is soft and natural. And that's why I just love cotton. Who doesn't love cotton? Who doesn't? I mean, denim and a white t-shirt. I mean, to me, it's just like the American uniform.

43Cotton is gentle on your skin. It breathes, so it keeps you cool. It's hypoallergenic. And what is better than putting on that perfect t-shirt that you've had forever or getting into a perfect, cool, yummy cotton bed on a spring or summer night? I always choose to wear cotton when it gets warmer out. And I don't know if you know how many different cotton fabrics there are. Again, we have denim, corduroy, and flannel. It's such a versatile fabric. You can wear it with any style, season, or occasion. Cotton is also so durable. It's easy to wash and care for. It keeps its shape. And listen, I love cotton for a multitude of reasons.

26One of them also being, you know, financial. But on top of that, the nostalgia that comes with wearing an item that you've had for so many years of your life, like my favorite jeans, the jeans I'm wearing right now. I've had these since before I had my daughter. and I've worn them through two pregnancies. And my favorite, favorite, favorite white t-shirt I've had through my 20s. So I always think about when I put it on, like how many places I've worn it. Davide wears one of my dad's t-shirts, this cotton shirt that he loves so much that he wears every single time we fly for good luck. If choosing quality fabrics is important to your family, make sure that you look for the cotton tag.

23Javide told me that tomorrow night he has plans and he said, is that okay? No, I only said because it's a boys' night. Tomorrow is Monday. My store is closed. and I'm thrilled to meet this, like a car maker, like a car builder, this guy, he built this car and we saw, we met him and we saw the car at the concourse and he's driving down and I have a boys night. Tomorrow we drive. But he said, can I, he said, is that okay? And I said, oh my God. It's that night. I said, wait, do you feel like you have to like ask me? And then I was like, maybe we hang out. For the kids, you know, for the kids, for the, you know.

06But I was like, maybe we hang out too much. Can I be off of duty, you know, for a leisure? No, one thing is being off of duty for work. You need more guys nights. I told Paul that yesterday. One thing is being off for leisure matters, you know. But you need male camaraderie to like bring you joy. And you used to do guy sinners. Like you were almost like on a weekly basis at one point, which was so good for you. But that's what I told Paul on the phone yesterday. he's like I haven't seen Davide and I was like can you show something he hasn't seen he hasn't had a boys night in fucking forever and I was like Davide just needs more boys nights it's a time of life guys oh you've been so busy but I said it was a nice check in then I said maybe you and I need some space no you said no I don't need space for my family well but your wife is one thing the kids you know look at Carmela's and she adjusts it.

01And then you show me Carmela's living like a star in her bed. Look at that. Oh my God. You're so cute. We made her. I made her with my body. Okay. Let's go. And I made her with my body too. I just like don't like when you say that I think it's so annoying. You see the I think the I think like so who did care of you for a month? Mama. Who gave you milk? Mama. What do you like? Like Daddy. Fucking so bullshit ass. Bullshit ass. She's like, who suffered the delivery? Mama. Mama. What do you look like? Daddy. Some people ask some questions and there's like a couple. Let's go. Let's go. Let's go. I thought you were asking me about the US Open, about Cinder.

49I don't care about Cinder. It's over. No. Let's go. I'm just wanting to answer a couple of these things because I think it's important. And this question has to do with what we're talking about with traveling. Because, you know, I obviously get, listen, I'm just going to give context. You got mad about it. What? No, I'm getting mad about it. Did you use a travel agency? Oh, no. And if somebody asked me today if we use a travel agency, whatever. Anyway, here's context for when we travel without our children. Hold on. Why are we touching that? because somebody's asking a question about it. I think it's a little personal.

29It's not personal. I'm just wondering, my context is that every parent is different. I grew up with my parents going on trips all the time. From the time I was little, they would go on romantic weekends. They would go on trips with friends. They would go up to Napa. They would go, like they did their thing and they used to get like invited a lot of places by certain friends and they would go. And like, you know, my cousins would stay with me or my brother or like I would have babysitters. And like, I was fine. And it, and like, I never, you know, when they were leaving, I was like, oh my God, don't go.

03But as soon as they were gone, I was like ripping, having an adventure with whoever I was left with. I was always way more comfortable being at home and being like the princess at home with a babysitter than I was being dragged around on a trip. I didn't want to go on with them. And they always came back like so in love and so invigorated. So that's how I was raised. I also we as a unit are the type of parents who are not like super helicopter-y we don't like overly worry about things we're like we don't believe in like anxious attachment that's like our nightmare is anxious attachment so if you're not that kind of parent then leaving your children to go away for three or four days like is definitely not going to work for you also my mom lives here and we have babysitters and my sister lives around the corner.

57So the kids are ripping. They all have, they have their schedules. So for me, like, I wish they were with us, but I was like, we land off a plane. Carla would be the babysitter. And like, we had so many things to do that it would be. And I want, I want to bring them in November, December, just cause like I want them to experience the city and I want to go on a trip where I don't have a bunch of other things. The ratio of how often we travel, we travel 90%. We travel with our kids. But we also travel a lot without them. And it, like, keeps our relationship going. And it's a great thing. Also, when you have easy kids, like, you know, we set them up to be, like, they have a schedule.

39It's healthy. I think it's healthy, too. So, like, they wake up. They eat one of the same five things in the morning that they like. Carlo wakes up at 7. Carmela wakes up at eight. They both go to bed at seven. They both eat together at five. They take their bath at six. You have a great, great, nice routine. They're cruising. Nice routine. And they're adaptable when we travel. But like, if I'm looking at them and I'm like, am I going to drag them on a plane and drag them around a bunch of places? Or do they get to stay here with Nona, have Nardine, their favorite babysitter, come and then hang out with my sister, who they fucking love, or my cousin?

15Like, they would rather. so somebody said how do you guys let go of the possibility of things being challenging with your kids while you're away so you can enjoy yourselves that's where i that's what if you read the question that's what i'm a little bit upset about i don't know how to say it in english is that way to ask it that they really no challenge my mind no no it's critical no no no no you're way too kind It's critical. And that's the part that I hope that I wish people, like at least with kids, would take a little bit more of boundaries. There is everyone approach of things in life in a different way.

54There are people that are very good professionally, personally. Not everyone reacts or operates the same way. This can also be applied on being a parent. And the persons we are today are the results of a very special, let me add, old school and very particular way of parenting that made us the individuals that we are today. So we do what we have been seeing. We do what we know. And we do what we've been taught by our parents. this is when it comes for love and creativity and depth and passion and also in the bad aspect of course of us as an individual the genetic baggage you carry is so important so that's reflect on us being a parent so us feeling us approaching being a parent the way we do doesn't mean that we resolve for everyone the same thing.

05So I think it's very, even asking, it doesn't make too much sense because I think it's very personal and it's very subjective. And I'm very aware about certain boundaries. This is our way to parenting our kids. And by any meaning, we are showing what the right way is or you traveling with your kids. If you want to travel with your kids, travel always with your kids. If you don't want to travel because you're a kid, then that's okay too. Like being a parent is something that should be not asked to somebody else, in my opinion. I trust my mom. I don't like the possibility of something happening.

54She's in a very safe environment. Yeah, they're just like, they're so safe and happy here. so actually when it comes to Carmela for instance I know for a fact that she loves more being home with Nona than anywhere else like factually I never saw a baby being at the park and asking me basically to go back home and yeah she loves to travel with us too like she's a little ripper we go to dinner a lot you know we've brought her around but like travel very well Camela does holiday very well but she's really comfortable in her routine so you know unless we're gonna bring her on a trip that's like really focused on them having fun all day long it's not i'm not it's not fun for them i'm not gonna do it

48merit beauty one of my absolute favorite beauty brands is out here to solve a problem the beauty industry can feel overwhelming with complicated 12 steps, skincare routines, 50 shade eyeshadow palettes, and products that require near expert level of artistry to master. And that's why we love Merit. Merit is the anecdote to the overwhelming world of beauty. It is a minimal beauty brand with a mission to simplify what it takes to feel beautiful. Merit helps you simplify what it takes to get ready. It's makeup that you can absolutely live in. Some of my favorite makeup and they simplify the process by creating impossible to mess up makeup and skincare products that help you do more with less.

30It's designed for people who want to look put together without spending a ton of time on their routine. So basically they focus on like high performing, clean and effortless products. Their formulas are skin loving and designed to enhance natural beauty rather than cover it up. For example, their concealer, which is like my favorite concealer on planet earth is something that I have been wearing consistently for probably, I mean, off and on for over a year, but the last eight months I've only used Merit concealer and many of their other products. I have no clogged pores. I don't look like I'm wearing a lot of makeup.

05It blends in seamlessly. It's like a few swipes on my face and then I use their brush to brush it in and I'm done. It's impossible to mess up. And it's like the perfect less is more approach to beauty. And I really do love that all the products are clean, vegan, cruelty-free, and that they're made with skincare ingredients. And I can see it in my skin that they're made with skincare ingredients. The Flush Balm, which is a sheer buildable cream blush that blends seamlessly for a healthy natural finish, is also something that I love to use on my lips and my eyes. And the Minimalist is a foundation and concealer in one for a quick natural coverage.

44That is what I use every single time I'm going out. And they also have the Great Skin Serum, which instantly hydrates and plumps for a fresh, dewy look, which pairs really well with anything. To be honest with you, you don't get that like weird thing where it peels off. It just like soaks into your skin so nicely. It's a great base. It's time to simplify your morning routine. Head to MeritBeauty.com and get their signature makeup bag for free with your first order. This bag, by the way, is adorable. So jump on that. That is meripudy.com and get the signature makeup bag for free.

26The other question was, how do we fit in sex with two little ones in nooks? Talking about personal thing, I'm very happy to share that. That's what I was saying. how do we fit it in it fits very well you gotta be literally physically it's a combination of a lot of things you gotta be very ready opportunistic adaptable very original because sometimes you listen the kids sleep from seven to seven so that's crazy man like we have 12 hours in the day And sometimes, you know, it's interesting. I think that part of the reason why it's healthy for a couple of parents to remain a couple is because everything works better if there is a personal connection.

23And it doesn't mean, also there, it doesn't mean you got to have sex 16 times a day or 16 times a week. But it just means that you can't forget that you love each other. And making love or sex or, you know, personal time is extremely important. Can I say something? Can I say something personal? Sure. At this point. Davide is not the kind of partner, and I've said this before, or if I'm like, you want to have sex right now? That's like the one thing I could say to him that would make him not have sex with me. He's not like a, he's not the kind of guy that's like, oh yeah, let's just do this really quick.

12He needs. Momentum. He needs like, we need to have had, like, and I'll tell you this, it literally. It's a moment. Sometimes he's literally. It's a moment. It's a moment. And so what helps strengthen, I'll tell you something really magical. what helps strengthen our relationship is the buildup to that moment is a sequence of things that have happened that day that have been lovely interactions with us all day. So if I'm like, you know, if we've had like a great day and I am someone, you know, and we've been kind to each other all day and there's like little kisses happening and like little touches and we're happy and we're laughing and there's joy, then we have sex.

03And I hate to bring this up, but like I have been treated like men for so long as like an object for sex. And so I always assumed that being like, do you want this right now? Is something that's like going to be a part of a relationship. And like you've taught me that sex is like a more meaningful, beautiful thing that comes from like sensuality and not from like a dude being like i need to fuck right now and to be quite frank in the same way you just specified i never been that way means personally even as a single man i was always i never approached that that way i approached it lightly I approached it freely and I approached it, you know, joyfully, but never, like I've never been that guy.

05Yeah. I am very proud of that. Never been that guy at 14, at 15, at 16, at 17, 18, 20, 25, 30. Never been that guy. When we actually met, I wasn't that guy with you either. Not at all, no. You can, you know, Sparky, of course, you are young and have no family, no kids. Everything is a little bit easier and lighter. And, you know, you could text me a nicer good morning and just get me all fired up. But I've never been.

45someone asked me recently in a sub stack about what i was trying to say nothing changing you like being a parent changed you in so many aspects but the deep core of yourself stays what it is of course it's not that being a parent change you if you were a pig before getting married you would be a pig if you were you see what i'm saying if you being married doesn't i don't know yeah dude we have guy friends who would be like married and have kids and i would hear them talk about that but no no what i'm saying there's the way that they talk about women remains consistent so if you are with a man and you hear the way he talks about other women like that's who that person is and that's not that's gonna that man will be the father of your children and they'll talk about women that way you know what i mean it's not like all of a sudden you become a dad or approach women in the way or men or by or or i know women that approach men as a way so so being married doesn't necessarily change your nature change it changes you you get more mature you understand perspective it makes you so many good things happen to you but it doesn't change your your colors to that degree no it doesn't when starting a company would you say social media is crucial to lean into?

05Just say, let's talk about. Just say yes or no. Yes. One more time? One hundred percent. When you start a company, would you say social media is crucial to lean into? I mean, depends on what the company is. It depends. But yes. I believe it in, I don't believe it in the middle ground. Either go very hard or don't do it at all. Or don't do it. Yeah. Best advice for someone who's starting a new business, I would say get a good lawyer. Don't do it. Or don't do it. Get a nice job. Yeah, get a job. No, do it, do it, do it, and make a person. How do you deal with differences in parenting decisions? We don't have them, really.

42We don't try to don't have parenting, different parenting decisions. I cannot think of one instance where we... It takes a lot of patience. It takes a lot of... No, no, no, no, no, no, no. We're not talking about parenting. We're talking about... Sorry. Differences in parenting decisions. How do you come to... No, that's what I'm saying. Sometimes we might not be aligned and we both. When have we ever not been aligned? No, no. But you know what I'm saying? No, no, no. But I'm dead ass. And this is on, this is on choosing a partner. Yeah. The only, literally. Sometimes I want Carmela to have gelato with me.

15You might say that. That's literally the only difference is like you want her to have gelato. And I'm like, she needs to not have sugar and dairy per her doctor. Today was our really only issue with you had, that you were going through your own thing. But you thought that I, that I. No, I didn't even think that you... No, no, no, no. I was just, to your point, I just had to express myself on a complex of mine as a son. No, you were like applying two things that weren't combined, that didn't... Which I understand, but they weren't... We don't... Even like the way that like one time like Davide, like, yeah, I don't like...

55Like I remember the first time he like disciplined the kids And it was like, like something we hadn't talked about, but it wasn't like anything. And I just remember being like, I totally agree with that. Like there's no, also because the most important thing, listen, my answer to this question will be if I, if I give you any bit of advice and this is like per me being friends with like a million couples with kids, like watching this unravel, like many parents like older parents everything this is like a golden rule don't have an argument about the kids in front of them never you have to be on the same page like sometimes you might have a moment of of that you really want to emotionally react to certain things sometimes takes a little bit of patient on both of us even if we had agree on something we might sometimes won't react in a certain way it just it takes it takes but like if your husband or your partner does something and you don't agree with it you like do what you can to calm the situation but you have to bring that up later you can't do it in front of the kids because once they know that they can work the two of you yeah once the two of you once they see the crack you're getting and it's it's like i see the crack they go for it it's like forever then it's like then they can then they play the two of you off of each other and they it's like we are a unit and by the way our kids are only one in four so we have a long life of this but like we've done a really good job of this so far but I've said this time and time and time and time and time again I knew I wanted to be with Davide because I knew he would be a good parent to our children because we had talked about our goals and values for our children like extensively and within detail.

50So there's no like surprise. And listen, people will always surprise you, but like there aren't any big surprises because I made a choice to be with him. One, because I like love him and I built him in my bones, but also because I knew that we would be aligned with all of these things. and that's a big like this idea that like oh we'll work it out later like it doesn't get worked out later it just comes to the surface more so that's my biggest piece of advice okay that's it are we done? oh my god it's Beyonce's birthday oh my god look how good she looks beautiful lady she is a beautiful lady beautiful beautiful the most beautiful lady my wife is the most beautiful lady okay you see how smooth that is stupid idiot okay thank you for having me sorry thank you so much I was watching a masterpiece tonight I was watching King of New York talking about you know it's a week that Ray Giorgio left us rest in peace our beautiful weekend in New York and to homage those two events I wanted to you know a visually stimulated Armanian masterpiece great movie Davide's a movie king you go from Hulk to King of New York you know very notionally yeah good ciao Pia grazie for having me ciao Davide it was a good podcast it was a pleasure and immense
