In short

Fantasy Footballers Podcast (6/18) focuses on “surprising teams” for the upcoming season, plus “fizzle picks” and a news/mailbag segment. Hosts discuss coach-of-the-year odds (John Harbaugh, Ravens’ Mike Macdonald/Minter, Robert Saleh) and argue some teams can jump from bottom-third offenses (Saints, Dolphins, Titans) into fantasy relevance.

Guests

none. The episode is hosted by Andy Holloway, Jason Moore, and Mike Wright.

Key claims and notable examples

  • Saints surprise: Tyler Shuck at QB after a 5-4 finish; faster Kellen Moore pace; could flip run-game success (they trailed on 77% of offensive plays last year).
  • “Disgusting” Dolphins ADP: Malik Willis as a late Superflex stash; Dolphins’ WR target vacuum (Malik Washington projected top target); Greg Dulcich sleeper.
  • Titans surprise: offense needs Cam Ward to take a step forward; Carnell Tate and Wondale Robinson added; year-two QB improvement; Titans’ offense was 30th in points.
  • Fizzle/fade-out discussion: potential fantasy “fizzles” include DJ Moore, Tony Pollard (value-floor only), and older/declining QBs (Dak concerns discussed).
  • News: Brendan Sorsby enters the NFL supplemental draft; Chris Olave blood-thinner update; RJ Harvey labrum surgery; Ladd McConkie hamstring; plus keeper/trade questions (Brock Bowers vs Saquon; Olave vs Travion; anti-kicker debate).

1:14Jason Moore:Welcome to the Fantasy Footballers Podcast with your hosts, Andy Holloway, Jason Moore, and Mike Wright.

1:31Mike Wright:Welcome in.

1:41Mike Wright:Thursday, June 18th, Mike Wright, Jason Moore, Andy Holloway.

1:49Mike Wright:Welcome in to the show. should be a fun one today going to talk about some surprising teams for the upcoming year in fact i just saw the i think the the betting odds on coach of the year candidates yes before

2:08Andy Holloway:the show it was uh john harbaugh makes total sense with the giants and then it was was a

2:15Mike Wright:Minter? Yes. With the Ravens. Minter with the Ravens and then it was Sala. Yeah. So you know the Ravens have been winners but you know the opportunity to take a step forward maybe with the new head coach and the other two teams, turnaround teams. Right? I mean the Giants you know I think that's got to be the coach of the year situation that's most often you know it's a team that was bad that turns it around.

2:40Andy Holloway:It is funny to think about the Ravens the opposition of Ravens fans, their coach I mean the team parted ways with Harbaugh but he immediately goes and gets a job and so you're like do they want him to succeed?

2:58Mike Wright:He might be far enough away from them that they do. Okay. I don't think they do. If that was it's kind of like when Andy Reid left Philadelphia and went far far away to the AFC to me it's a bigger deal if they stay in the conference but certainly but i don't know i i would imagine ravens fans i'm not a ravens fan but i i would imagine i love john harbaugh and no hard feelings maybe i mean he brought you a super bowl so i i you know andy reed how do philly fans feel about andy reed they never he never got them one yeah he got he got ran out of town yeah is my memory

3:37Jason Moore:of it. Well, they knew that he could win in the regular season, but he can't win a Super Bowl. No. It'll never happen. Can't do that. They're fine because they went and got their own. So they're like, whatever. We're fine.

3:51Mike Wright:On Tuesday, we announced the Megalist Show. Our live event of the entire summer in Phoenix. Fantasy Footballers Live. The Megalist Show presented by SiriusXM is sponsored by GMC and PetSmart. If you haven't picked up tickets yet, because they are selling very quickly.

4:10Andy Holloway:There are still some good, I mean, honestly, the venue is, they're all great tickets, but there's still some of the closer tickets are available, but they are moving. So if you are wanting to secure a seat closer up to the stage, I would go check it out right now.

4:25Mike Wright:That'll be Friday, August 28th at the Van Buren in Phoenix, Arizona. Ballers Live. It's going to be a hoot comp. Jason will, and we confirmed this today, he will be back with his t-shirt cannon. I will. We're getting approved of this? Well, I'm going to bring it. We're not 100 % sure it's going to be allowed.

4:44Jason Moore:The venue is, it doesn't have the height. It's got a mezzanine. It does. It does. But it doesn't have the height that the Palace Theater in Los Angeles had. And I think if I shoot this to, let's just call it ground level, from the stage, I think I will kill people. And so, I don't know. We're looking to do insurance policies.

5:03Mike Wright:I don't really like any of that stuff you just said. He'll bank it off the roof if he has to. I mean, they're T-shirts. What's the worst that can happen?

5:11Jason Moore:With an apple inside. What? I like them apples. Bow! All right. I'm here to feed the food clan.

5:20Mike Wright:Maybe Mike will have the T-shirt can. That's all I'm saying. But we have some special stuff planned for the show. It'll be a perfect way to kick off the season. Friday August 28th ballers live.com the ultimate draft kits available right now at ultimate draft kit.com quick question of the day I mentioned it what team do you think will surprise the most this season three different answers here uh Mike you went with mine is mine is disgusting I mean

5:48Andy Holloway:I'm really shocked to see yours my real answer is Jason's answer but I I have gone on and on about them so i'll let someone else talk about it but you want me to go first well now you teased

5:59Mike Wright:you know you teed up jason so let jason give the team that you apparently had in first place but

6:04Jason Moore:couldn't claim quick enough yeah i mean i i do think when i was looking at teams that i liked to have a bounce back um to have a surprise i was between two one was the raiders um who i i think they're going to be better than than we expect but they're in such a tough division it's going to be really difficult for them to actually surprise and oh man they're they're going to the playoffs and the other was the New Orleans Saints and they are in the perfect division where all four teams could win that division that's part of it the other part is Tyler Shuck I mean I if you don't remember how last year went let me read you how last year went for the Saints they had a snake named Spencer Rattler, and it went loss, loss, loss, loss, win, loss, loss, loss.

6:53Jason Moore:Then they made a change at quarterback and went five and four the rest of the way with Tyler Shuck. He's able to lead this team. I think they added great pieces in the draft. We talked about Kellen Moore and his pace of play and how that works for the offense. And from a fantasy perspective, I do think that the offensive speed with, you know, assuming Tyson ever gets his hamstring tied on or whatever they need to do there. I think the Saints are going to be a good team. And so a lot of times, I mean, this could really impact, say, Travis H. Ann Jr. We want, you know, running backs who are winning more.

7:34Jason Moore:like last year I believe uh the Saints trailed on 77 percent of their offensive plays that that's not running back success and so if they flip over and you go oh this is a team that hey they won nine games that's going to be more success for the running back that's an interesting I mean the

7:53Mike Wright:Saints are I think a team we're all rooting for I would I would agree with that I think that division like are they a good team are they the best team in the division I'm not sure those are the same thing. I look at that stretch rundown at the end of the year. They beat Tampa Bay, Carolina, the Jets, Tennessee for that four-game winning streak. Carolina was the other win in that stretch. Everything else was a loss.

8:17Jason Moore:They're going to play those teams again.

8:19Mike Wright:Yeah, they'll play Carolina and Tampa. Kyle shared a graphic that just made me laugh. It was all four teams in that division, the Falcons, the Panthers, the Saints, and Tampa Bay, all with a thought bubble above their head that says, wow, this division sucks. Thank God I'm the only good team here. Because you can 100 % make the argument for every team in that division. Like I can see Carolina. I can make that argument why they can win that division. Definitely can do it with Tampa Bay and what their personnel is. I think the hardest argument is probably Atlanta. But from a skill position standpoint, B.

8:53Mike Wright:John, Drake, London, if they can figure the quarterback position out. but no I think the Saints because of the division because of the youth that they added another weapon for Tyler Shuck is certainly a team that is primed to surprise

9:07Andy Holloway:I think the Saints can have a one at every single position as a QB one wide receiver RB and tight end one for fantasy purposes yeah they better win

9:20Mike Wright:that's the path Mike you said you had a disgusting team

9:23Andy Holloway:yeah because I want to bring them up they just they they're not talked about really ever as you will see by the adp but it's the miami dolphins oh and and it's like i mean the big splash it starts i have another malik brother i will malik willis is i love him as a as a late round pick he right now is quarterback 18 is what i'm seeing so this is that is the that is late round quarterback like if you are you

9:52Jason Moore:You should be drafting him even if you drafted someone high. 100%. Just as a second quarterback stash him.

9:57Mike Wright:If he starts every game, there's 0 % chance he finishes at 18.

10:00Andy Holloway:Correct. Right. This is what – when the strategy really started to take off, it was – and shout out to J.J. Zacharyson, great friend of the show. He put his PDF out, and it kind of changed the landscape where it was telling people you can put together – you can piecemeal together production at the quarterback position late in your draft, especially when guys are mobile. And now you need them to be – they have to give you production through the air to become elite, but if they are a mobile quarterback, they're going to finish as a top-12 guy. It's just going to happen. And it was always – you can get these guys late because no one's really interested.

10:40Andy Holloway:People are not interested in Malik Willis. I thought he would be like 13, 14. So the fact that he's going this late, you know, we have –

10:48Mike Wright:I haven't done enough. I'm here with you

10:53Jason Moore:I think the tough thing and the reason he won't rise is because there are no weapons

10:58Andy Holloway:so you have A-chan who he's going as a top 10 running back right now, RB8 after that it is pure nothing and in fact the ADP I'm seeing right now is rookie Chris Bell is the highest drafted wide receiver meanwhile if you're paying attention to the beat reporters Malik Washington is going to be the top target at the wide receiver position, at least the way that things are unfolding with the early camps.

11:23Mike Wright:Normally when a team has vacated targets, they have the most vacated targets in the league.

11:29Andy Holloway:Yeah, they're at what? 53 % of their targets and 78 % of their air yards are gone.

11:36Mike Wright:And normally we'll pick somebody and at least one, two names get elevated for taking a shot. And right now that has happened. Not at all.

Read the full transcript

11:48Jason Moore:I'm curious, Kyle, look this up if you can. I'm curious what the lowest ranked number one wide receiver for a team is like ever. Like in the last decade? Like if they played, say, 16 games or 15. You know, I'm just curious. Oh, you mean end of season? End of season.

12:05Mike Wright:I thought you were saying like what team has had the lowest like until their first wide receiver was taken? Because right now they're undrafted.

12:13Jason Moore:Yeah, they're all undrafted. But I'm wondering if we look that up and assuming health, because I'm sure there's teams where no one was really healthy and their best one finished as wide receiver 88. But I would imagine if guys are healthy, it's very difficult to have an NFL team not in the top 50. But we'll see. Kyle's a robot.

12:31Mike Wright:Well, nobody said anything nice about Miami all offseason. So I'm glad that you're doing this.

12:35Andy Holloway:Greg Dolcich, I've brought him up before, is a very deep sleeper at the tight end position. who, I mean, not outrageous production towards the end of the year, but he ended with a string of success for the team. And then I wanted to bring up a name who has, like he became a cursed name, is Bobby Sloick, who was the OC for C.J. Stroud's rookie year. And you had the breakout. And that year, if you recall, you had Ben Johnson, you had Bobby Sloick there, the bell of the ball. They could go to any team they want. The two future stars. Both of them stay put. stay put. Ben Johnson has another monster year with the Lions and the Texans really fall off.

13:17Andy Holloway:Why I'm bringing that up is

13:18Mike Wright:maybe it wasn't Bobby Slowick

13:21Andy Holloway:who took all the smoke, all the heat of the Texans' offensive failures from that second year went to Bobby Slowick.

13:29Jason Moore:But he wasn't there last year. Correct.

13:31Andy Holloway:And Stroud would look like, I mean fantasy-wise Stroud was at points per game I guess he was slightly better than his sophomore year, but it was not, that wasn't the strength of the team. Useless. So I'm just bringing it up of like, well, let's go back, 4 ,123 out of C.J. Stroud his rookie year, and it has just fallen, it's gotten worse as we're going. So maybe Bobby Slowick wasn't the huge problem. If Malik Willis works, he will be really solid for fantasy. I have no question with A-Chan. And the money that they just spent on A-Chan, to me, you've got to follow it. Okay, we've got to keep him on the field.

14:12Andy Holloway:He's not a player who you can overload with carries. You can overload him with targets. So it's just pay attention to this team because the ADPs here are just ridiculous. Chris Bell, wide receiver 92, and then just no one else.

14:28Mike Wright:Well, the final team, my team for the surprise of 2026. By the way, our three teams, Miami was 25th in points per game last year. Jason's, New Orleans Saints, 28th in points per game. My team was 30th in points per game. So we're talking all three of them, bottom third offenses, opportunities to fix it at the quarterback position, and on the offensive side, it's the Tennessee Titans. I still believe in Cam Ward. I certainly believe in Brian Dable. We talked about Robert Sala, third leading candidate for Coach of the Year, potential solid not concerned with cam boards there was a comical report that sol is not concerned about the apparent report of ota inaccurate passes i'm like mike's like you should be concerned about completing a little bit completing passes if not your primary concern is that your quarterback is accurate traditionally year two is a good bet for quarterbacks to take a step forward.

15:31Mike Wright:The last decade has seen top 10 quarterbacks average 2.6 more fancy points per game in year two. Cam Ward had a nice end to the season where he reduced the turnovers, was throwing some touchdowns. You have added Carnell Tate where some offseason rookies have had hype, some haven't. Everything about Carnell Tate has been glowing. They add Wondale Robinson. To me, this offense with Brian Dable is primed to have success. It's not the same as the Saints inside of that South, but it's not a division you couldn't see a team making a move in. Like Houston, their defense is incredible. What is their offense?

16:11Mike Wright:Indianapolis, are they going to be able to do what they did last year with Daniel Jones? He's coming back from injury. Jacksonville, I think we've all – we all have high expectations, but Trevor Lawrence has disappointed us before. I think they have the pieces to do it.

16:24Jason Moore:This one rests to me entirely on Cam Ward. Like, if Cam Ward plays like he did last year, the pieces are not going to matter. But he does have, like, adding Carnell Tate and Wandale Robinson, I really like their option to take a massive step forward. They've done everything right to give Cam Ward what he needs. Now, will he be able to perform? I'm skeptical.

16:51Mike Wright:Yeah, and I know we're all going to be watching because this was a 3-14 team last year. but those are three teams I think we believe could have surprising years and with that comes Mike brought up that nobody's being drafted in Miami so you don't have to do very much at all but nobody's being drafted really other than like Carnell Tate is like a 6th round pick right now you don't nobody's drafting the running backs in Tennessee Wandale's a 10th round pick and that's it I mean Cam Ward is undrafted so if these teams take step forwards specifically in what I mentioned 25th, 28th, and 30th in points per game.

17:27Mike Wright:You get to the middle of the pack, you're going to have more relevant fantasy play.

17:30Jason Moore:I think Tony Pollard is, right now, he's not a high-ceiling type of player, but in certain builds, like we were talking about, 0RB, depending on how far he's falling in a draft, you can get a starter who's one of the only guys who's rushed for 1 ,000 yards in the last handful of seasons. And if the team takes a step forward and he has more touchdown opportunities, it could be a value for a floor play.

17:53Mike Wright:Absolutely. All right, we'll take a break and we'll jump into the news.

18:24Jason Moore:with NFL Today, NFL Today Plus, CBS Sports HQ, Fantasy Football Today, and more. So sign up and sign in to Paramount Plus today, and we'll see you Sunday for another thrilling season of NFL on CBS, streaming live on Paramount Plus.

18:41Mike Wright:What does it feel like to have a better laptop like the Dell XPS powered by Intel Core? With a premium design that's thin and light, it feels smooth, very smooth. With a responsive touchscreen, it feels fast and precise. And with a long-lasting battery life, it feels like nonstop energy with a laptop that can keep up. Built for those who want better, the Dell XPS, built for you.

19:15Jason Moore:News and notes from around the league.

19:19Mike Wright:See, I thought maybe they put the helmets out on the table of the surprise teams because I saw Miami show up here. Okay. And I saw Vegas over there. Jason mentioned Vegas. But then I saw this team. I saw the Jets up here. And none of us said that. None of us said the Jets.

19:33Jason Moore:Yeah. I could see it happening. I'm not pessimistic about – I am, of course, pessimistic about the Jets' future as a franchise the same way just because they're a bad franchise. But I could see them surprising this year. they have so many good offensive weapons. Yeah.

19:50Mike Wright:Yeah, Jason. That was the completion of my thought. Jason could see that.

19:55Andy Holloway:Yeah.

19:57Mike Wright:You are a big Geno fan. I just want you to know that. I want you to know what you are. Okay. And you are a big Geno fan. Take it on the chin. So congrats on that. We'll get you a jersey. Texas Tech quarterback Brendan Sorsby plans to enter the NFL supplemental draft. okay this is a big deal so he was embroiled in the gambling scandal that basically knocked him out of eligibility then he sued the school and then he dropped the lawsuit and entered the supplemental draft and that's a really short summary of what happened i think he had bet over ninety thousand dollars over you know on his team when he was with indiana and then other games and none of it was good.

20:41Mike Wright:Did he win? Don't ask. I just want to know if he's got a good head on his shoulders because it doesn't sound like it. Ask Pete Rose if they won. The point being, he's going to enter the supplemental draft, which is something we've never really had to talk about much on this show before because the players entering it weren't really very interesting. Soresby was a projected first or second round pick in next year's draft. If he had a good season at Texas Tech, most pundits would say he was probably going to have a chance at being in the top 10 of next year's draft so for the first time in a long time this is a player that has the chance to be drafted in the NFL supplemental draft and when you do that a team will be exchanging a 2027 draft pick for Brendan Soresby and that pick could be a second it could be a third we don't know

21:31Andy Holloway:it's really all over the rumors are yeah the last thing I saw this morning was that they think

21:36Mike Wright:some people think one team will give up a second for him. I think third is all but guaranteed. That's high draft capital, and so for fantasy and the future, he was a good prospect.

21:49Jason Moore:He's a dual-threat quarterback.

21:51Mike Wright:Yeah, he had 18 touchdowns in two years.

21:52Jason Moore:Yeah, a lot of rushing yards. He's a true dual-threat. So for fantasy purposes, he is a name that you would – like if he were to have been a first-round draft pick in next year's draft, this would be someone in Superflex that is going at the top of draft. So we had a big, big conversation on the Dynasty show that came out last week on Wednesday. If you listen to the Fancy Footballers Dynasty podcast about what do you do if your rookie draft is over right now, which most Dynasty leagues have already done their rookie draft, but now this guy's going in because you've got to figure that out. If you're in any Dynasty league, you're going to have to figure that out.

22:30Jason Moore:Does it go to waivers? Do you have another supplemental draft of your own? Does he go into next year? There's a lot of options.

22:34Mike Wright:I didn't hear the conversation. I want to see where you ended up because I have a third option potentially. Okay. That just popped in my head and you guys can debunk it. But one of the challenges, and tell me where you ended up, the challenge is if you just throw him in the 2027 draft, then he's completely ineligible for teams this year because your rookie draft has already taken place. And if you put him in the 2027 rookie draft, which I think is fine as an option, he's not likely to be drafted and then start and make a difference, but maybe so that's an option right the other option is to execute like a supplemental style draft like the NFL does yep that has its own challenges tell me where you ended up because

23:12Jason Moore:I have a another idea I think we ended up with doing it just like the NFL does it with supplemental drafts where basically what you do is everyone does a blind bid on you know if you want him you're giving up next year's pick you can give up next year's second next year's third and then essentially whoever had the higher, and this is exactly what the NFL does, whoever had the higher pick in this year's draft, the worst order, if two teams were to bid a second, then whoever was the worst team this year gets them. Just like it was a draft, he'd have the first pick in that round. And theoretically, then it will be giving up a higher pick in next year's draft.

23:49Jason Moore:So that's where we landed as the preferred option, but we did give three totally legit options.

23:55Mike Wright:I don't mind that. I think that's fine. I think it gets a little, it could get complicated if a lot of pick movement has already happened for future years, right? I guess. Yeah, you have to have the pick to bid it. Right. So if you don't have your own pick, but you have somebody else's too.

24:07Andy Holloway:It's messy for the NFL.

24:08Mike Wright:What about this? Just came up with it. Top of my head, probably dumb. What if it was just in-season fab budget active for source beat?

24:18Andy Holloway:Well, you can, but not everyone has fab. What do you mean? Some people just do priority.

24:23Mike Wright:Yeah, it wouldn't apply to them. The solution doesn't apply to those that do not have fab. I'm just saying, I was just thinking about, like, if we all have our$100 in-season fab, a lot of people have off-season fab, but we wouldn't be talking about that. But if you just said everybody in our Dynasty League today has their$100 in-season fab to bid, I think that would be interesting. You think people are going$100? No. So, I mean, I think that's an open, free market to do that.

24:46Jason Moore:And obviously you should not be doing this until after the NFL supplemental draft. It still has to get approved.

24:51Mike Wright:What do you want? And drafted.

24:53Jason Moore:Yeah.

24:53Mike Wright:What do you want, which, by the way, he's got a pro day coming up, I think, in July. The 10th. What do you think we should do in our Dinos league, Mike? Like right this moment.

25:02Andy Holloway:The fact that we offer an in-season fab, I think that's perfectly fine.

25:08Mike Wright:Because, see, that seems really clean to me.

25:11Andy Holloway:Because in a, and, you know, ours, we're in a single quarterback league, so they're, I mean, I'm not on the side of anticipating an NFL team is going to spend a third or a second, maybe a third, but on a guy who just got marked ineligible to play in college football. I know the judge overturned it, but for gambling. Yeah. Like, this is a big, big, big, big no-no in the NFL to have a player anywhere associated with betting.

25:44Mike Wright:If you, I mean, because if a team exchanges a third, this is not like they're giving up a first. This is not a guaranteed production for him in the future. you know, Carson Beck was a third round pick. If you told me Carson Beck is available for in-season fab, he's not going for much. No, correct. So I think that is somewhere where that's an interesting way to do it if you want him to have eligibility for this year. If you don't care about that, throw him into 2027. If you have a pretty clean future dynasty draft situation in 2027, do it that way.

26:12Jason Moore:It's funny. As long as we've done this show, this is, I don't think, ever. Because the only two relevant guys in the past were Terrell Pryor and Josh Gordon. Shout out to Josh Gordon.

26:21Andy Holloway:second round supplemental pick. But that was also a dominant player. For a year. Yeah.

26:29Mike Wright:I don't think we had him backed in. No, gambling wasn't quite what it is today. No. And marijuana wasn't quite what it is today. Correct. The rules were very different back then. Denver Post is reporting R.J. Harvey underwent surgery this offseason to repair a torn labrum. He suffered in that championship game loss. Mike, how does that make you feel? It makes your shoulder.

26:49Andy Holloway:It makes me. It doesn't concern me. you don't think a shoulder would be important for a player who hits people with his shoulder all the

26:56Mike Wright:time not as important as the legs in which he will use to run like i'm not concerned about a

27:00Andy Holloway:shoulder injury getting better i mean i it's it doesn't change where my stance was on harvey versus dobbins and the uh we just got more and i know it's we're in the coach speak era but uh coleman got coleman's getting talked up oh is he see this i thought you were going to say jk

27:19Mike Wright:Dobbins is going to get talked up by himself, which he did. He said he's going to be the number one. He made us a promise. He said he'll be the number one running back. No injuries. I'm going to tell you this right now, Mike. If you want to take advice that will guaranteed pay off, you should make Jacob Dobbins a my guy. Why is that? Because it's just going to work. And you've been talking about it. I'm just telling you, like, it's going to happen. People know. People know how much I love Jacob.

27:44Jason Moore:Yeah, he's great. but I do think that this actually opens the door for Jonah Coleman a little bit. They're going to open training camp, and R.J. Harvey is not going to be out there in pads and full contact. And that's not to say that when they hit the season, Coleman's going to usurp him, but it just means they're going to see more of Jonah Coleman and what he can do. It's exciting to me as someone who really liked the prospect.

28:07Mike Wright:How many legs does Coleman and J.K. Dobbins have? Currently four. Each of them?

28:15Jason Moore:Is it JK Twolegs? No, he's back. I was just checking.

28:21Andy Holloway:Currently, he's frequently won.

28:23Mike Wright:That wasn't – I mean, the funny thing about Dobbins is like that hasn't been a big part of the discussion that you've brought up is the fact that he does always get hurt. And that is – you're like, you can get this starting running back. If you get him for three weeks, that's not good.

28:36Andy Holloway:No, but if you get him for 10. And you realize that J.K. Dobbins' career rushing yards per carry? Let me guess it. Let me guess it. Please. 5.2. 5.2. Oh. J.K. Dobbins has a rushing yards per carry average of 5.2.

28:56Mike Wright:What was the running back on Baltimore that played, that got the ball? Derrick Henry. No. Late in the game and had a ridiculous yards per carry for years. Gus Edwards. Before he became a starter. at Gus Edwards. They'd put him in there and he had like a six yards per carry for three straight years or something. Way to get that in there. I didn't even remember we had that. You were on that quick. That was really fast. You got a Gus Buss button right next to you? How do you find it that quick?

29:25Andy Holloway:That is impressive work. The thing for Coleman, I would say, another issue I have with R.J. Harvey is when J.K. Dobbins inevitably is a liar about getting hurt because he'll probably get hurt. He promised. He did, I know. I said you better not have your fingers crossed, Mr. Dobbins. I think Coleman steps into way more work than R.J. Harvey does. That's all part of my analysis of why I just don't like his –

29:56Jason Moore:Here's a stat Kyle pulled up. Since 2000, the only running backs with 500-plus carries with a higher yards per carry than J.K. Dobbins is Devon Achan, Jamal Charles, and Jameer Gibbs.

30:08Mike Wright:There's no way that J.K. is not real close to 500 on that stat.

30:12Jason Moore:Because wherever we're drawing that line, you have to draw it. He has more attempts than H.M.

30:20Mike Wright:From 2023 to 2025? Wow. Okay.

30:25Andy Holloway:Dobbins is great. He just has a brittle body.

30:29Mike Wright:Ladd McConkie has strained his left hamstring during Phase 2 of the Chargers offseason program. Expects to be ready for training camp. that'll be important that he's ready for training camp if he's going to be trying to get into that two wide receiver mix. My boy Trey Harris more opportunities. Chris Olave is scheduled to go off blood thinners on June 29th. That is what shut down his season right when we said he was going to finally play a full season. It wasn't a concussion. It was a blood clot. That is a concern.

30:59Andy Holloway:When we had looked into it That's what Wimby went through, too. This was the protocol. I think it was six months. You're on it for six months, and for someone like Olave, there's no reason. Just leave him on for the full entirety of the treatment, and while you're on it, you can't be getting hit. So he's been essentially held out just doing individual stuff, but June 29th, he is scheduled to get off the blood thinners, and hopefully we get great news about how he looks.

31:28Jason Moore:I will know. I mean, if he's just regular in training camp, there will be no worries of this at all.

31:32Mike Wright:All right. It is time to jump into the mailbag.

31:39Jason Moore:Mailbag.

31:42Mike Wright:If you have a question for the show, we're here to help. I want you to get that Foot Clan title this year. Go to the website, thefantasyfootballers.com. Click that Submit a Question button, or you can dial our voicemail hotline, 302464-TFFB. by the way at the Megalist show in Phoenix on August 28th ballerslive.com we will be doing a live mailbag that is one of the traditions of these live shows it's super fun because people get to ask their questions in person

32:06Jason Moore:and they get to sing the mailbag yes yes and they sing it well I didn't know what word to use is it sing or is it shout say let it out

32:19Mike Wright:voicemail question to kick us off hey ballers This is Matt from Scranton, Pennsylvania. Just want to say, huge fan. Quick question. What players do you think are going to fizzle out of the league? You know how Dalvin Cook and Michael Thomas just kind of just fizzled out? Who do you think is going to fizzle out by next year? Thank you, guys. Love the show. The question was, who is going to fizzle out?

32:42Andy Holloway:Players that, I would say, injuries played a pretty big part in those guys fizzling out.

32:49Mike Wright:Yeah, I mean, are we looking for big names or just...

32:53Andy Holloway:anybody the biggest names i would go a relevant name who you're like um people drafting for

32:58Mike Wright:fantasy football and then we'll get evans or adams is is a relevant name that has the chance to fizzle out um those would be two that i'm not saying they will necessarily this year but they both

33:08Andy Holloway:have the chance to do that and then you just have you know going through the adp yeah i'm looking

33:15Mike Wright:to i don't i mean jerry judy will probably never be heard from again yeah does that matter i mean to be Tony Pollard Tony Pollard could certainly fizzle out Nicholas Singleton and Pollard good Woody Marks could fizzle out you may never hear from him again oh Brooks I mean there's a chance. Brooks is speaking my love language Brooks is saying DK Metcalf but he already

33:38Andy Holloway:fizzled out guys

33:39Mike Wright:sort of I mean I can't really argue with that you should not sign that money and then lose to Kenny Gainwell in the receiving

33:48Jason Moore:did you say DJ Moore No, that's a great one. I mean, I think that's the name where it's like it's still kind of exciting and they'll probably do nothing and never be heard from again.

33:57Mike Wright:Is there a quarterback that you would say, after this year you'll never hear their name again? Is there anybody in the starting? I mean, Aaron Rodgers notwithstanding. I mean, it's hard to say because he's literally the MVP,

34:13Jason Moore:but at that age, when you lose it, you lose it. you know peyton went from mvp to just done and it comes with an injury but stafford is up there and the the player that i will say um i am worried about in two years so it's like i don't think he's gonna fizzle i think he's gonna be great this year i love him this year but i think we're near the end for dac um yeah dac is is you know he's i think he's 36 and a half or something right now i was He's going to guess mid-30s. He's older than you think.

34:46Mike Wright:He's that old.

34:46Jason Moore:He's 32, Jason. Is he? Yeah. He's younger than we all think.

34:51Mike Wright:He's super young. I was like, I'm not in on that one. You take it back.

34:54Jason Moore:I apologize for calling you 36. Yeah, that's a big deal in football. Yeah, I mean, that's a huge deal.

35:00Andy Holloway:Cameron Artis Payne didn't even lie that much. No, 32.9. Oh, never mind. He'll be 33 this year. Oh, the great hairs. 34 the next year. The great hairs come in at the.9.

35:09Jason Moore:When you look at the ages of all the quarterbacks that are currently starting in the NFL, he is basically the oldest relevant good, like Geno's older, who is not already so close to out. Obviously, we're going to go Aaron Rodgers and stuff, but I'm just saying he's the next oldest actually currently good quarterback. He's 32, man. He should play for another five or six years. You think that, but there's not a bunch of 34-year-olds out there. They really do kind of drop off there. I mean, I know that we got the guys like Stafford and Rodgers that pushed past and Tom Brady, but there's plenty of examples of guys that, you know, let me see if I can pull up a list of the quarterback ages.

35:59Mike Wright:That would be interesting. I think you will not see starts in the NFL from Geno Smith, Aaron Rodgers, Kirk Cousins or Michael Penix again after this year.

36:11Andy Holloway:Yeah, Penix was who I was going to say.

36:13Mike Wright:And you could maybe throw Kyler Murray into there.

36:16Jason Moore:So I've got the list right now. Aaron Rodgers, obviously super old. Matthew Stafford, super old. Stafford's about to be 40. Rodgers is. Then it's Geno, who's old busted. But you love Geno. Jacoby Bursette is the same age as Dak. Jacoby and Dak are both 33. you know they're going to play 33 years old this year I mean that's it there's just there's not players there's not a bunch of guys that push through that.

36:46Mike Wright:We haven't looked into it enough to like I don't know if that's just a gap in good quarterback play. I don't know if it's 33 year olds that flamed out or there just weren't any players in that tier. I mean the good ones they play a long time. I consider I mean is Dak I mean, Phillip Rivers played a long time, obviously. Big Ben played a lot longer than that. I don't know whether you count Dak in that category.

37:10Andy Holloway:I think Dak can play into his upper tenets.

37:13Mike Wright:I mean, when did Matt Ryan play till? 36?

37:15Andy Holloway:I do not recall. I mean, that would be another one of those.

37:18Mike Wright:I was trying to see ages of, like, Pro Bowl quarterbacks, which is what Dak is.

37:22Andy Holloway:A quarterback who, again, these are like trying to pick a name where you're like, well, no, they can't do that. But it happens every year. he's in the last year of his contract is Baker Mayfield if the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have massive struggles this year there's a world I think where they just clean everything out

37:47Jason Moore:I would be really shocked if Baker plays no I'm saying I will be shocked if Baker plays this year without getting a contract there's been talks recently of them extending him

37:58Andy Holloway:I might have just Cortland Sutton'd this thing Yeah,

38:02Mike Wright:it'll be interesting. Next question comes in, another DJ Moore-related question from Nick. What is a reasonable return for DJ Moore in a dynasty league? I'm a middle-of-the-pack team. If you can get a two, I would take it. Yeah, that's where I'd be aiming, is to try to get a two. People aren't going to give you a one.

38:19Andy Holloway:They shouldn't give you a one.

38:20Mike Wright:There will be some. And he's worth more than a three. I mean, if you – It's a two. We are all anti-DJ Moore, right? Yes. So we're all very anti-DG Moore because we know it's not going to work. But if you left me, like if you put him on my team and you left me alone for about 15, 20 minutes, I could still try to find a path in my head. Oh, for sure. And so there are people in that league that I think you can get that trade done.

38:46Jason Moore:Do you assume that in your Dynasty League, the team that has Josh Allen is a competitive team? Generally speaking, they're a competitive team. Go to that team and be like, Like, hey, if they're a championship type of team, you want your stack, trade me your first for DJ Moore, maybe he's done and he'll do it.

39:05Mike Wright:Yeah, I think Moore will work really well in Dynasty Leagues as a throw-in to a bigger trade too. Not a throw-in, but a player to include. Let's take another break and we'll be back with some more questions.

39:19Jason Moore:You're picky about your fantasy draft. You got rankings, sleepers, mock drafts, and too many tabs open. You know what else you should be picky about? Buffalo sauce. Introducing Primal Kitchen, the official Buffalo sauce of the NFL. Primal Kitchen Buffalo sauce. It's made how it should be with real ingredients like avocado oil and big time flavor. Build your game day spread like your championship roster and include a sauce worth drafting. Find Primal Kitchen Buffalo sauce at grocery stores nationwide or on primalkitchen.com. If you're an NFL fan, ESPN is where you need to be this season. It's the biggest lineup they've ever put together.

40:03Jason Moore:Monday night football, every week, every game on NFL Network. Now also available with an ESPN Unlimited plan and for the first time ever, Super Bowl 61. Marquee matchups, MVP quarterbacks, international games, the whole season start to finish footballs on ESPN.

40:27Mike Wright:Instagram question from Cravenomics. Are you more optimistic about Luther Burden or Marvin Harrison Jr. this year?

40:39Mike Wright:I mean, our rankings say what we are. It's like more optimistic about Luther Burden. Luther Burden by a lot for all three of us. I mean, optimism and Marvin Harrison are not.

40:51Andy Holloway:This is the ultimate Jason question as the most outspoken Luther Burden hater on the show. And loving Marv still. Jason, how do you respond? You do have him ranked the closest.

41:04Jason Moore:I am really close on this. I am very, very close. I don't. I mean, I could see Marv. Even without him in the puka roll? Yeah. Yeah, Luther has looked better on the field. Marv hasn't yet done something that just looks like a dominant player. He still has every opportunity to do it. I think if you told me who's going to get more targets this year, I still think it's going to be Marvin Harrison. I have Luther Burden three spots ahead of Marv.

41:36Mike Wright:Yeah, you're the tightest in terms of that ranking. Yeah, you guys have a gap.

41:42Jason Moore:I don't have a big gap. I think that when you're looking at those type of players, you just take the type you want, the archetype you want.

41:49Mike Wright:You want the true guaranteed number one of an offense, and you think Marv could still be that, where Loveland, Odunze could easily be the key cogs in the Chicago offense, and you don't see Michael Wilson as a threat the way that those guys are.

42:04Jason Moore:Luther could lead the team in targets and really have a breakout, but I have him third. and targets with those three. Yeah, behind Rome and Mr. Love.

42:17Mike Wright:Yeah, I mean, there is certainly an active positivity towards Luther Burden and an active negativity towards Marvin Harrison. Yes. Because of the end of the season for Burden, the departure of DJ Moore, compared to the disappointment that Marvin Harrison has been, the injury really messed up last year.

42:37Jason Moore:It was just the end of the season for both these guys Because at the end of the season, Marv was injured and Michael Wilson looked awesome, while Luther Burden looked really great going into the playoffs and explosives. So what we have, you know, recency bias certainly is on the Luther Burden side.

42:51Mike Wright:Yeah, I mean, I definitely, even though I have Burden ranked higher, you know, Mike, what percentage chance do you have that Harrison finishes ahead of Burden in fantasy? Because my percentage is in the...

43:02Andy Holloway:He said that Luther finishes higher. Okay, the percentage chance that Luther Burden finishes higher than Marv...

43:08Mike Wright:No, I actually meant the other way around. Since we both have Marv ranked.

43:11Andy Holloway:Either way, we'll give both answers.

43:13Mike Wright:Well, I'm just saying, since we both have. Which number do you want me to give you? We have Marv ranked much lower, so it stands to reason that the percentage should be. What's the chance the lower guy finishes higher?

43:22Andy Holloway:The chance that Marv outscores Luther Burden, I'll put it at.

43:26Mike Wright:I got my percentage written down. Since me and you both have a 10-player gap. I will put it at 39%. Yeah, I was going to say like 33%. Jason was probably, he'd probably say 55-45.

43:42Jason Moore:Yeah, I mean, I feel like I'm 50-50 on those two guys. 55! There it is.

43:49Mike Wright:By the way, another fade-out or what did we say, fizzle player that Brooks brought up. He's just 28, but it's already happening. TJ Hawkinson.

43:58Andy Holloway:Oh, my guy. We've already fired the flaming arrows at his casket. Who's? Hawkinson. Who? Oh, TJ Hawkinson.

44:10Mike Wright:He was a tight end. He was, and then he isn't. Instagram question from D. Heil.

44:17Andy Holloway:Oh, man. Hawkinson. Goodness gracious. That was fast.

44:22Mike Wright:Yeah, that sucks. That was really fast. There was a real burn bright. You got the trade. 10-team PPR keeper league. My keepers are Drake, London, and Jinty.

44:35Jason Moore:should i now avoid brock bowers no oh my gosh no no in other words you know in general as a

44:43Mike Wright:running back and tight end on the same team risky i don't ever think about it i really don't because i don't think about the many tight ends and the tight ends i do think about i don't think about whether i have another one of their players i really don't right yeah there's no situation

44:55Jason Moore:if you had trey mcbride you're not avoiding jeremiah love no no if i have loveland i'm not

45:00Mike Wright:avoiding swift swift or anything like that i mean bowers genti sure put them together kittle cmc fine with it tyler warren jonathan taylor do it cool i'd like that yeah that means i have a tight end that's what that means um instagram question from jordan writing in keeper question uh brings up bowers again brock bowers or saquon barkley in a full ppr i mean technically saquon goes higher in drafts, but it's close enough between the two in their draft selection and ADP that it's certainly, it's not a guarantee you can draft Bowers. You know what I mean? Like you don't have the, you don't have the option to like go around higher on him or something because he's a later round pick.

45:45Mike Wright:I would take Bowers.

45:46Jason Moore:So the question actually looks like a keeper question where it's a, it's a 302 for Bowers or a two or the 208 for Saquon. So they're giving up their second to keep Saquon or their third to keep Bowers?

46:00Andy Holloway:That is the 80-piece. Kyle has. Yeah.

46:04Mike Wright:Okay. Yeah. It's just keep one or the other. That's just where they're going. It's 208 and 302. I would keep Bowers. I would keep Bowers as well. I would keep Bowers. I am somewhat in on a Saquon bounce back, though. I will say that. Not to number one or number two or something like that, But I do think 208 for Saquon is a deal for that team and what the identity is going to be in the offensive line and the defense. And, like, there's not another option there that's going to – I mean, unless you're into Tank Bigsby, which I'm not. I am. I think Saquon's going to have a player.

46:39Andy Holloway:But I don't think he gets a role.

46:40Jason Moore:No, I kind of misspoke. I don't think that Tank Bigsby will eat into Saquon's role at all.

46:48Mike Wright:I heard Geno Smith, Tank Bigsby are your top two guys this year.

46:51Jason Moore:I will have Tank Bigsby on tons of my teams. He'll be a late-round target for me because he is the type of insurance back where should an older running back on the team go down, you're in a great offense, and you've really looked good. The last couple years, Tank has looked great. All right.

47:12Mike Wright:This question comes in from Instagram. Hey, boys, what hot take so far this offseason do you find yourself agreeing with? But I don't see any options for the hot takes here.

47:24Andy Holloway:So, I mean, I can give you a hot take. Is it the burden? That I is mine, so I also agree with it. Yeah, sure. I don't know what the scorches are right now. Give us your – let's just do our own hot take.

47:39Mike Wright:What hot take do we agree with ourselves on?

47:43Andy Holloway:Yeah, Ken Walker can be a top three running back this year. Oh, man. That was very hot. Is that too spicy? Top three? Yes. Wow.

47:54Mike Wright:I mean, I'm all for it. I've got him on my team.

47:57Andy Holloway:He can.

47:58Mike Wright:Mike and I, we're historically big Ken Walker fans. He and I were exactly the same on that. And if you check the tape, you'll obviously, you'll hear Mike saying it a lot, but I'm in the background like now.

48:08Andy Holloway:You can, if you listen real close, he's nodding. He was typing to Mike, keep going, keep going. Yeah. These are great takes. On Ken Bonewalk.

48:18Mike Wright:I mean, my hot take of the offseason is that Malik Willis is going to matter a lot. I mean, I've been saying that since before he was signed, so I think that that's one that I believe in. Do I like being associated with it? Not really. For a fan, where you go astray is the, like, you have a very strong conviction,

48:37Andy Holloway:as the Dolphins do financially, of Malik Willis being good for the NFL, for the actual Miami Dolphins, not just fantasy.

48:45Mike Wright:Just good enough to start regularly and run the ball around.

48:48Andy Holloway:And he could. I mean, the couple starts, he looked better than some of the quarterbacks who have contracts.

48:55Jason Moore:I think Travion takes a bigger, like a very large lead by the end of the year over Ramondre. Okay. I like to hear that.

49:06Mike Wright:Speaking of Travion, Gabe writes in on Instagram, Dynasty Trade, Chris Olave for Travion. Would you do it?

49:12Jason Moore:In a dynasty league? Yeah, I would do it.

49:14Mike Wright:You would rather have Travion?

49:17Jason Moore:I have Chris Olave in our main Dynasty League, and I adore Chris Olave. I think he is an awesome wide receiver. He's a top-ten guy. He's young. There's nothing not to like about him other than—

49:29Mike Wright:That's a lot of nice stuff you said before you say—

49:31Jason Moore:I mean, I have lived the last year and a half terrified that this guy could be deleted from my roster at any minute with the concussion history. I know he got through this last year. Great. Now he's got the blood clot. I just feel like he is awesome on the field. I'm very skeptical and worried about it. So if I could get out for something that I love.

49:51Mike Wright:So would you trade Garrett Wilson for Travion? Taking the injury thing away. Those guys are back-to-back in dynasty startups. So Olave goes ahead of Garrett Wilson in a dynasty startup in PPR. So would you trade Garrett Wilson for Travion? Because, see, this question to me is just do you need a running back, do you need a wide receiver? Sure. It's not enough of a – like Pep McMillan, I would not trade for Travion. You know, like you're in a tier of wide receiver that's too high. Yeah. But would you trade Garrett Wilson?

50:20Jason Moore:I think that that is more difficult. Carnell Tate. No, I would rather have Tate. Ladd McConkie. I would trade Ladd for Trevo.

50:31Mike Wright:Jordan Tyson?

50:33Jason Moore:I want Jordan Tyson. I mean, if anything goes wrong with Chris Olave, Jordan Tyson's to the moon.

50:40Mike Wright:Mike, Instagram question from Evan.

50:43Jason Moore:What would you guys do?

50:44Mike Wright:Would you guys trade Chris Olave? You thought you were getting away with this. No, I don't think I would trade. Of course, I'm just being quiet over here. I mean, I did answer. I said it'd be position specific for me. Yeah. Like if I need a running back, I'm totally, it's an acceptable trade. Who would you? Okay. But if I'm drafting one. Yes, if you're drafting. I'm drafting Olave.

51:00Andy Holloway:Okay. Mike? Yeah, if I'm drafting, I'd take Olave.

51:04Jason Moore:He's just 26 still. Dude, I am hopeful that you guys are right. I need him and I love him. Stay healthy.

51:12Mike Wright:Evan says keep trade cut Cam Scadaboo Quinchon Judkins Bashaw Tootin

51:17Jason Moore:You can't get me to cut Cam Scadaboo If you put CMC Bichon and Cam I'm keeping Cam That was almost my hot take

51:28Mike Wright:Cam Scadaboo is number one

51:29Jason Moore:Yeah he's going to take the league by storm But he is my keep I'll probably cut Between Scadaboo and Tootin is very tough Between Scadaboo and Tootin? Yeah

51:40Mike Wright:I'll keep Cam Scadaboo. I'll trade Quinchon and I'll cut Bachel. I think I'm keeping Scadaboo.

51:48Jason Moore:Yeah. I'll cut Quinchon. I really like him, but the team makeup scares me.

51:56Mike Wright:Matt wants to know from Instagram, how can I convince my dynasty league to finally get rid of kickers? Well, I mean, we always go back to – and we'll have answers, but we'll go back to the well of ask them how much they enjoy slash spend time building their you know kicker list and analysis on a regular basis or whether they just you know pick one that's there by adp at the very end of the draft because why not and

52:22Jason Moore:then go and show them how many kickers like outscored important tight ends last year because it's going to be a lot of them and be like this shouldn't happen and then bring it up to a vote every single year.

52:37Andy Holloway:Let me ask you this. You're in a dynasty league. You have Brandon Aubrey. I would never vote against removing kickers.

52:46Jason Moore:He's there to stay. Kickers are important. Kickers are important in fantasy. Kickers are in the real NFL, Mike. If I've got Brandon Audrey, I'm in.

52:56Mike Wright:Who? Brandon Audrey Hepburn? The funny thing about kickers is I used to try to make arguments to keep them around. but the arguments all defeat themselves because if you keep them around and you score them too severely then the randomness of the kicker position ruins your league and if you take the alternate approach because you just want to have them there and you're like barely count their points then they're really meaningless which you should remove them so i don't i don't see a scenario

53:23Jason Moore:where like you know you could be like oh a field goal made is one also um one of the things that's helpful in a lot of leagues is the addition of adding another flex spot. So you can make it, hey, instead of a kicker, I think we should have one more flex spot. It'll, you know, give, it's depending on how many you have. We did that when we got rid of our kicker in our league and just gives a little bit more to play with.

53:48Mike Wright:Don't worry. If you have kickers in your league, we put out kicker rankings. We do that for you, but it's not fun. No. Unless you have brandon audrey hepburn website question from chase where are you guys at with gunner helm i think he has great sleeper potential so is andy yeah i agree i mean i liked gunner helm last year he made some plays down the stretch they got rid of chigakonkwo i like them as a sleeper this is the yeah the

54:17Jason Moore:titans tight end yeah he actually had a rookie last year yeah he had a few top 10 weeks last year

54:24Mike Wright:the snap count will be high this year. He'll be their guy.

54:27Jason Moore:He'll be on the field and he'll make plays. I don't think that he can be we talked at the beginning the additions of Wandale Robinson and Carnell Tate yes you lost Chig but the targets are going to go to those two guys.

54:42Andy Holloway:He also, Oconquo aside from a couple spike weeks he never came through for the Titans. When you're looking at this level of a tight end I have to be able to see a path that they just end up as the number two target. You can't go Schultz? You can't Schultz it up? Schultz was the number two target, wasn't he? I mean, Schultz, I don't know if he was considered that or not. But it was like Christian Kirk, like last year, liking Jawan Johnson from the Saints. Because they have a lobby and who else do they have? But the fact that you have two, you have a top five pick and a free agent wide receiver that you gave a bunch of money to.

55:25Andy Holloway:They're locked in. Their target share is very safe.

55:27Mike Wright:Is this why you probably wouldn't be in on Britton Strange this year?

55:32Andy Holloway:Britton Strange is a little bit different as the offense projects to be high powered. Yeah, that's fair. So I don't think he'll be anything consistent, but his spike weeks, I think there'll be more just because of the amount of touchdowns to go around. And, yes, Dalton Schultz was the number two in the targets. Okay, there you go. but the the don't show stuff is also confusing of you know like it's real noisy last year of the the success that uh uh jayden higgins no no uh jaylen davis davis mills had with the team

56:08Mike Wright:all righty um that guy from someplace writes in on instagram last question for us favorite turn position to draft from the first pick or the 12th pick

56:19Andy Holloway:i'll go i like the one yeah i'm gonna i'm gonna take the best player i'll take the one if i have to go on a turn i am i'd rather have bijon or jameer yeah i like the guys at the two three turn

56:32Jason Moore:uh at being in the one yeah if you're if you're at the one spot and yeah i like that i think that's
