In short

Fantasy football trade targets and “backup options” (waiver/deep-league stashes), plus NFL news and a Thursday Night Football preview (Seahawks vs. Cardinals).

Guests

No guest hosts mentioned; the episode is hosted by Andy Holloway, Jason Moore, and Mike Wright. (They discuss league “mail” but no named external guests appear.)

Key claims

  • Trade away Javante Williams: Dallas offense/OL concerns and tough run defenses ahead; his target volume may dip after Week 4.
  • Backup/waiver stashes: Dak Prescott (if needed), Ramondre Stevenson, Kyle Monangai; don’t drop Romeo Doubs; pick up Troy Franklin; consider Travis Hunter/Harold Fannin/ Evan Ingram as holds.
  • QB/Offense critique: C.J. Stroud has looked “objectively bad” recently; offensive line and lack of running game are key issues.
  • Deep stash: Brashard Smith (Chiefs RB) if Pacheco struggles/fumbles.
  • Trade targets: Garrett Wilson (buy/hold), Ashton Jeanty (buy low), Josh Jacobs (buy/price-up).

Notable examples

  • Terry McLaurin quad/core uncertainty; Xavier Worthy limited role with harness.
  • Falcons: Michael Penix Jr. expected to start Week 4.
  • TNF: Trey Benson as Arizona RB2 option after James Conner injury; Marvin Harrison Jr. bounce-back discussion vs DK Metcalf.

3:28Andy Holloway:Also, the amount of people listening to our show who are up-to-date and current with Taylor Swift versus up-to-date. Gloria Estefan. Gloria Estefan. They get it. It's not much of a crossover.

4:10Andy Holloway:472 points. Sweet Pickens. I hope you got George Pickens on your roster. It seems likely. With a name like that. I mean, George Pickens, the opportunity for him to secure the bag. Oh, it's gone up. It is in front of him. I didn't think about that. If he has three to four weeks of okay, can you be the number one guy? If he goes out and balls out, he will earn himself so much money.

4:37Mike Wright:That's that's a really good point and we gotta we gotta watch it all on sunday night football oh are they yeah yeah yeah nice wow sorry i was what are you reacting mr walkin wow

5:52Jason Moore:Backup Options, presented by Progressive Insurance.

5:59Mike Wright:All right, we have another edition of Backup Options. We just had all of the waiver wire, you know, all the waiver wire players were just picked up in all of our leagues this morning, right before we started the show. We always remind you, after waiver wires go through, we like to say drop it like it's hot. Take a look at your waivers and who was let go. and maybe you can pick up a steal of somebody that got frustrated and shouldn't have dropped somebody. So most dropped players right now on Sleeper over the last 24 hours, Russell Wilson, I don't care. Jake Browning, don't care that much. Dak.

6:39Mike Wright:I think he is. Dak is somebody you could stash if you needed to. I think so, yeah.

6:42Jason Moore:The next four weeks, Green Bay. Tough matchup, but without Seedy, you're not going to play him anyways. Yeah. In New York.

6:49Andy Holloway:But Jets, Carolina, Washington, the next three, there is a chance. I mean, I'm not currently up to date what the bye week situation is for over those, you know, not this week but the next three. But you will need quarterback options, and I would stash Dak. If he were on our waivers, I would have stashed him immediately.

7:11Mike Wright:Top six drops right now at running back. You tell me if you want him on your team. Dylan Sampson? No. Najee? Not possible. Why did I read that name? I'm not sure. I don't know. I wouldn't pick him up. Ramondre?

7:22Andy Holloway:Yes, definitely. I would pick him up. Without a doubt. I would pick him up with so, so many doubts. Tank Bigsby?

7:31Mike Wright:Yeah, you don't need him. Kyle Monongai? Yeah, I'd stash Monongai. And then Jaden Blue? Probably doesn't matter. He's too far removed.

7:39Jason Moore:Not at all. I mean, if Javante went down, then you might pick up Jaden Blue, but the starter would be Miles Sanders.

7:47Mike Wright:Romeo Dobbs, who could bounce back this week. Oh, I would not drop Dobbs. People did. They already did. Troy Franklin and Marvin Mims after a disappointing week. I'd rather have Franklin.

7:57Andy Holloway:Yeah, I'd get Franklin immediately. Jaden Higgins. That's fine.

8:01Mike Wright:There's not really a path. There just isn't. I mean, now you've got Christian Kirk. Yeah, he came in way ahead of him. I mean, they're a horrible offense.

8:10Andy Holloway:Higgins had his chance to try and steal that starting job,

8:16Mike Wright:but he did not take it yeah they cannot pass the football no there CJ Stroud is a whole discussion

8:24Andy Holloway:he is did you see I shared it in our slack the uh the Anthony Richardson the CJ Stroud numbers over the past 15 games or whatever it was I don't remember what this is good Mike you gotta let me give me it okay I got it okay Richardson probably hasn't played 15 this in 15 career starts for Anthony Richardson. So he did play 15 games. This was a tweet from John Davis from Colts Report. Anthony Richardson in 15 career starts. Now, it's, of course, very dumbed down, but 8-7 record, so winning record, 21 total touchdowns, 13 interceptions. C.J. Stroud in his last 15 starts, 6-9, 15 total touchdowns, 12 interceptions.

9:06Mike Wright:Yeah, he's actually not playing good football. No, he is not. And we've done all of the blaming of other things so far, like the offensive line the fact that tank dell and stefan diggs went out and you know like he has

9:17Jason Moore:he's got weapons now yeah so i went back yesterday and i i watched every snap from stroud every passing snap from stroud i should say because i wanted to know for dynasty uh on the dynasty podcast how did he look because he's been terrible he's been objectively bad and i feel like he doesn't have weapons he had nico out there who had had a drop or two had a bomb touchdown stroud to me looked like he is still good but he doesn't run the ball his offensive line is many pieces away from being deep they are tremendously bad and outside of Nico there just felt like there was no running game no running back to dump the ball off to how fast Dalton Schultz look Dalton Schultz was like a locomotive getting started started rolling and then caught the ball and they are

10:08Andy Holloway:confirmed they are they're not using motion. They're not using play action. They don't have a running game. You can still play action. It still

10:17Mike Wright:works. But I mean it would help if Joe Mixon was there. This would be a better offense by a lot. Travis Hunter frequently dropped. Maybe he's somebody you can pick up and stash.

10:29Andy Holloway:Yeah, I said I think I said yesterday that he is so close to being dropped, but I wouldn't drop him just yet.

10:35Mike Wright:I think the fact he had six or more targets the first two weeks, you could hold him and wait and see. Evan Ingram, Harold Fannin. I mean, Harold Fannin is a...

10:43Andy Holloway:Oh, I'm not dropping Fannin.

Read the full transcript

10:44Mike Wright:They played Green Bay, and he had a big play called back on a penalty. So there you go. Let's look at some other backup options that we think are beyond what got picked up on waivers that might be worth a stash.

10:57Andy Holloway:All right, I will jump in because mine is for... We got our friends and our listeners who are running in deep leagues. So this is a deep league pickup, but it's something that I think should be paid attention to. The Kansas City Chiefs running backs have been bad, objectively bad. And will that improve? That is TBD. But in the meantime, if you're in a deep league, Brashard Smith is a name you need to pay attention to. Bless you, Jason. Thank you. You okay over there?

11:26Jason Moore:I was muted, but it was a big one. I'm not muted.

11:31Andy Holloway:Brashard Smith, he's a seventh-round pick, So the odds are already low, but you know the situation with Pacheco. He's running the wrong direction on plays, causing fumbles. Kareem Hunt is so past his prime. I'm just saying it wouldn't surprise me if at some point they just say, we got to try somebody else.

11:55Mike Wright:I actually completely agree with this because they – Oh, got you with the deep stash.

11:59Andy Holloway:Nice. Well, I think – I was thinking about it during the game

12:03Mike Wright:when I saw Rashad Smith out there briefly. I was like he has juice I was like this team is not they're not going to be patient with like a completely unproductive running game there's a reason Pacheco ever got snaps right there's a reason that we've seen different lower tier running backs get opportunities Jarek McKinnon had a resurgence of his career in Kansas City like Tyquan Thornton is another example like whether it's Brashard Smith or literally another back off of the waiver wire they're going to run out of patience if they keep losing ball games and cannot have a productive running game in any capacity

12:33Andy Holloway:We've seen, like, Clyde Edwards-Alaire had first-round draft pedigree, and he got, I think, two years or so because of that draft capital. And then they were like, hey, Pacheco, you have juice. Show us what you can do.

12:47Mike Wright:So, just kind of going back to the sneeze. Jason muted your mic. I muted my microphone. But it was a very voluminous sneeze. Yeah. It was, like, pretty loud. Yeah. And we're flanking you, right, on both sides. And so apparently we got like a really good stereo mix of the sneeze. Is that right? Must sound really good in a car. And so like Al's like, oh, gosh, why are you talking about this? Because I was going to totally get that sneeze wiped out of the recording. Nah. But now it's there to stay. Who doesn't want a stereo sneeze?

13:17Andy Holloway:I want people in their cars to feel like it hit them in the face.

13:20Mike Wright:Mike, he was in my brain. That's a pretty like quick draw. Bless you, too.

13:26Jason Moore:You're like, I got to stop this sneeze with the bless you. I feel like now you should just unmute my mic. Let it go through. Oh, yeah. That's on the. You can do that in post.

13:34Mike Wright:Oh, man. Arande Gadson. Yeah. Who is the second? He is the second. His dad was a tight end. I mean, we're bringing you some nasty boys today. This is a tight end for the Chargers.

13:45Jason Moore:His dad played six NFL seasons primarily for the Dolphins. Yeah, he had a nice one-handed catch. Did you see that one? Yes. Do you know who his dad is? Who Arande Gadson's dad's dad is? Also known as his grandfather, pioneering Texas sausage maker, Orange Holloway. Okay. Now you know. Okay.

14:07Mike Wright:So you've dug that up.

14:07Andy Holloway:I thought we were going to get like three layers of football. So they were just.

14:11Jason Moore:Yeah, this is a sausage maker. Orange. So they went from. Goes by orange. Orange. They went from Holloway to Gadsden? That's right. They're like, Holloway's so bad. We've got to go to Gadsden.

14:23Mike Wright:Holloway's associated with the sausage making. Yeah. Okay. Thank you for that fact. You're welcome. In fact, please return to sneezing now. But he was a fifth-round pick. He had a nice debut in place of Will Disley for the Chargers. If Disley was to miss more time, seven targets, five for 46, athletic. We've actually only had, like, three tight ends in the last 15, 20 years that are day three tight ends that have caught five or more passes in the first game. He's got the pedigree. So pay attention. We're giving you the deep stashes in this backup options.

14:55Jason Moore:And mine is not that deep of a stash, but it's someone who was cut in a lot of leagues. I personally had him, played him two weeks ago, Zach Ertz. Cut him this last week for Mark Andrews because I needed those points.

15:07Andy Holloway:And you are the Mark Andrews whisperer.

15:09Jason Moore:Yeah, and it was going to be Marcus Mariota. And now you need to pick Zach Ertz back up. He's a very good play. He was the tight end two before this last week. If he's got a starting quarterback, you're probably without Terry McLaurin, almost certainly right now. Sure. So this is a very used, necessary weapon that has been good, is looked at the goal line, and he's on the majority of waivers. So Zach Ertz, if you are tight and needy, I think a very good pickup. And honestly, without McLaurin, now I'm willing to play him with Mariota. But if Jaden Daniels comes back, it's even better.

15:45Mike Wright:All right. We gave you three names, and that was Backup Options, sponsored by Progressive Insurance. Quote today at Progressive.com. Time to talk news.

15:56Jason Moore:news and notes from around the league presented by progressive insurance

16:03Mike Wright:very very petite news section today yeah we don't have a lot but we do have some important news wide receiver news i mean let's start with terry mclaurin doesn't sound great um seeking additional opinions i i can tell you this in my life when i get the opinion from someone that i want That's where I stop. That's what I was going to ask. I stop there. I do not seek additional opinions.

16:28Jason Moore:If I walk in the room. Has anyone ever gone to a doctor, got great news, and then been like, I need more.

16:35Mike Wright:No, the second opinion is never like, maybe it's worse. Like, Jason, I walk in the room. I go, do I look nice? You go, yeah. I'm not looking for other opinions. Right. You tell me I don't look that good. I'm going to find some other people. Terry McLaurin getting additional opinions on his injured quad. the concern that I'm seeing is that they're not a hundred percent sure it's quad versus core muscle I did see that

16:59Jason Moore:which was really weird to me I saw that and it's like oh this could be a core muscle but isn't that like isn't your core like above your hips how can you confuse that with a quad I always thought your core went

17:10Andy Holloway:your core is like just under the nips and then it goes down to like a little like mid thigh it's your core it must because Because if you can't – A little bit below the hips, though. Okay. That's what I'm saying.

17:23Jason Moore:All right. Okay. Well, below the hips makes sense then.

17:26Mike Wright:Anyways. Not a doctor. He's getting additional opinions on the quad. He could miss this week. Terry, give me a call.

17:33Andy Holloway:I'll give him an opinion.

17:35Mike Wright:I don't think his real issue is where his core is. Oh. I think he just wants to know what the injury is. But you never know. Chiefs are optimistic Xavier Worthy will be able to play a limited role in the offense while wearing a small harness. It's just not the best sentence for confidence for fantasy.

17:54Jason Moore:No, we had talked about when Worthy comes back, he's so needed right now. I mean, you just watch these Chiefs and see Patrick Mahomes running because he doesn't have someone to throw the ball to, and you want to plug Worthy right in. This is actually a really good report because it's going to stop people from doing that. It's going to stop people from the first week he's back throwing him in a lineup thinking maybe you can get something deep, Maybe you can get a bunch of little ding-a-duck screens in PPR leagues. He's not going to get enough work his first game back if it's soon.

18:26Mike Wright:Falcons head coach, this is now something we say, so that tells you where we're at with Atlanta. Falcons head coach Raheem Morris said Michael Pinnix will start week four.

18:33Jason Moore:Oh, goodness gracious. You've got to answer that question with, I'm not answering that question. We have a quarterback.

18:42Mike Wright:He said Kirk lost his job last year. We're not even close to that with Mike. He had a bad game. So there you go. I mean, he did have a bad game. No, no, no.

18:52Andy Holloway:That's just upsetting by the media. Yeah, it is a little bit. Like, ask better questions.

18:58Mike Wright:Yeah, it's not. I mean, it's the inevitable question every time. This is what not trading Kirk. This is why I thought Kirk was 100 % traded. Yes, because you had to get rid of this. Because I didn't want this to happen to them in week four. Is you can't have the player sitting back behind.

19:12Andy Holloway:Yeah, but then they overvalued Kirk Cousins.

19:14Mike Wright:Yeah, that was news and notes sponsored by Progressive Insurance. Quote today at Progressive.com. Progressive Casualty Insurance Company affiliates and third-party insurers. Not available in all states or situations. Coverage subject policy terms, limits, and conditions. I told you we had a trade episode. Let's do it.

19:34Jason Moore:Let's talk trades.

19:39Mike Wright:Three trade four players, three trade away players. that is what we're going to cover today before we get into the thursday night preview um do you do you have a preference do we want to talk about tradeaways before we talk about the trade force sounds like you do i don't know it sounded like it it sounded that way so let's do that okay who do you want to trade away right now who do you think the best tradeaway candidate is because i got a name that i don't know if either of you guys will agree with then you start i do not agree with yours so why don't you start Javante Williams okay Javante Williams is my number one trade away candidate and unfortunately there is always like a direct correlation between trade away and I think you're bad at football I'm not trying to make that case I think Javante has surpassed expectations I think he has looked good sans one fumble slash handing the ball off to Chicago.

20:39Mike Wright:I mean, he has looked really, really good. Now, he has scored three touchdowns. Do you believe in the Dallas offensive line? No. Do you believe that they have the same threat in the passing game without CeeDee Lane? No. Do you believe he's going to score 18 touchdowns?

20:52Jason Moore:No. Okay. Those are the three. Do you believe you can trade him like someone believes that they're going to, that he's going to score 18 touchdowns?

20:59Mike Wright:I think because we're at that point now where the kind of inclinations and the first impressions have given way to more established opinions. And I think that that's the reason this segment is showing up on heading into week four. And I think Javante Williams has gotten a ton of deserved praise. But I think this is a turning point for the Dallas offense and the Dallas situation. They have a very difficult schedule throughout. I mean, they have Green Bay coming up. I don't think Green Bay is going to be a great game for Javante Williams. They just had more offensive line injuries. You know, it always comes down to what you can get for them, but the running back position has been very, very scarce, very difficult to find any production.

21:43Mike Wright:If you were a team that drafted RJ Harvey or Travion Henderson, Ashton Gentry, who we'll talk about, you are hurting. Javante has represented tremendous production and he's highly ranked. So to me, you know, this is your moment. If you're going to get a maximum value out of Javante, this would be the time.

22:02Jason Moore:I think you are right that you're going to get your max for him right now. That part I agree with. And honestly, for your play style, Andy, you're a mile-a-minute trader in the leagues that you play in. This is perfect. This is day trading. This is like you recognize that these next couple weeks, playing against the Packers with two injured linemen and no C.D. Lamb, it's not going to be a good game. Here's the next four.

22:27Mike Wright:Green Bay is the number one team against the running back position. Then it's the Jets who are 12th. Carolina is 6th. Washington is 8th. Carolina is not a good run defense.

22:36Jason Moore:It may be the first couple weeks. This exact same thing happened with them.

22:42Mike Wright:We've seen this with teams that are not great defenses. It's not like Bijan blew up on them last week. Right now they're giving up the 6th least fantasy points. That's all I'm saying.

22:52Andy Holloway:My pause to move Javante away is that it is not just an overwhelming efficiency on the ground. He is so important to the offense right now and the targets of week two, seven targets. Week three, five targets. Those types of numbers for someone who is also getting the bulk of the carries, it can be pretty difficult to find. So I agree with the sentiment that you're going to see, you'll see a dip in value of Javante after this upcoming week because it's probably going to be pretty tough but at the same time like if well because CeeDee Lamb's not going to play is Javante going to see another seven targets in that matchup and he might he might just half or full point PPR his way into being an okay type of performance yeah yeah I like the target totals

23:45Mike Wright:um those are I don't like the yardage on the targets really high for it feels more like a chuba situation in the passing game five for 16 last maybe that what's so difficult with

23:58Andy Holloway:giovante is coming out of college that was something he could do like that was a part of his profile chuba is just that's never been part of his game as a running back giovante was a fully well-rounded running back who just had his entire career derailed by a knee injury that he couldn't seem to bounce back from and through three weeks it looks like he has bounced back finally.

24:21Jason Moore:We saw it last year. Last year, Javante had a ton of work in the pass game. 70 targets. Ended up with 346 yards. I think he will get a lot of PPR value, but not...

24:35Andy Holloway:Right now, he has the fifth most targets at the running back position. That's a tough one.

24:43Mike Wright:Chuba has a higher yards per catch career-wise than Javante does. That's all I'm saying. I'm saying he's going to get the targets, but it's not necessarily going to be the big plays. And so I do think it's the opportune time to trade him. Because I don't think, like I said, I don't think that their offensive line that is getting weaker is good. I think he's not scoring 18 times. And I think that this Dallas offense is really going to struggle for a long period of time.

25:05Andy Holloway:And I think just a quick reminder for everyone, trade away does not mean fire sell these players. Correct.

25:11Mike Wright:No, this is an opportunity to see who will give you maximum value. Right. All right, we'll take a break and come back with your two trade-away candidates, and I'm really sad about Mike's.

25:23Andy Holloway:No matter what triumphs are in store this season, legendary game days start with a Miller Lite. 27:36Mike Wright:all right two more trade away candidates then we'll get into our trade for names but uh you know i teased it before the break mike i don't like it sure i probably agree with it but more like secretively like i don't want to publicly agree i gotcha we'll go we'll just

27:54Andy Holloway:We'll start it with this.

27:58Andy Holloway:He still is extremely exciting. Ja 'Cory Krosky Merritt, a.k.a. Bill Krosky. Oh, no, Jamie. Bill Krosky. You don't got one for me today? Oh, I didn't know we were telling jokes here on this show. You didn't know I was talking about Bill Krosky?

28:11Mike Wright:You were supposed to have one.

28:12Andy Holloway:You didn't know we were telling jokes on this show? You're supposed to have one. Bill Krosky can get a Big Mac from Burger King. Okay, thank you. Thank you. Thank you. I think that his name still carries some value, some trade value. Of all the guys out of Washington, he is the one that I would want. So again, this is not a fire sell of Bill Krosky, but there are some things that I don't like. Zero snaps on third down. He's probably not going to be anything when it comes to the receiving game.

28:43Mike Wright:Yeah, how many catches does he have on the year, do you know?

28:45Andy Holloway:Is it zero? It's probably zero. It's one. Oh, it's one?

28:47Mike Wright:It's one catch for five yards.

28:48Andy Holloway:like he that sucks he has when he's getting opportunities he's looking good but it's just the it's strange right of of chris rodriguez from a healthy scratch for multiple weeks to two of the first drives perhaps it was a make good with with rodriguez i that's to be uh determined the biggest thing with that for bill that i'm concerned about is while he has to he has to play his way into being the main guy. His schedule is rough. Like Atlanta, right now, I know last week was a disaster, but they're good against, they've been good against running backs. The Chargers, Chicago, you do have two plus matchups, at least based off of how defenses are playing right now.

29:36Andy Holloway:You have Dallas in four weeks, but then, and then Kansas City, that's, I don't know if they'll be able to, I think Kansas City will turn it around. But then after that, It shuts down even more. So while we're only three weeks in and you don't want to make concrete decisions about schedule and who defenses are at this point, kind of start making some decisions about how things are trending. And for the trend of the Washington running backs being a three-person timeshare with the schedule, I think I would try to get out if I could.

30:10Mike Wright:Do you think if he has, you think what would turn it for him would be a couple of big runs? Do you think if he had like a 65-yard touchdown run or a big play that he would start to force their hand a little bit in the running game?

30:23Andy Holloway:I would think so, but that also happened in week one. You had, I mean, the very nice touchdown run that he had. And then as they were closing out the game, he was the one who broke off a huge carry that essentially ended the game. and then he was rewarded the next week against Green Bay with four carries.

30:41Mike Wright:Their schedule's pretty brutal.

30:42Andy Holloway:That's what I mean.

30:43Mike Wright:Four out of five games on the road coming up.

30:45Andy Holloway:And it's like after Kansas City, Seattle, Detroit, then after the bye week, Denver, Minnesota, a game against Philadelphia right in the middle of your fantasy playoffs. He's a player that you don't have to trade, but if someone is interested in thinking that Bill's going to take over and be the main guy for Washington, I might try and get out because the passing work freaks me out, and we still don't know if he will definitely be the goal line guy over Chris Rodriguez.

31:20Mike Wright:Jason, you said thank you for your service. Six for 109 and a touchdown.

31:25Andy Holloway:Yeah, I got a sweet trade offer for this guy in League of Record immediately.

31:30Jason Moore:I have been trying to unload my tradeaway player, A.J. Brown, who is – You're trying to capitalize on the big week? Yeah, I mean, he's awesome. He obviously hasn't lost anything as a player. You saw that this last week. Breaking tackles, stepping over guys, mossing guys 100 yards, a touchdown. I can't tell if we're getting pitched right now. No, I mean, but this is the pitch. I'm not trying to trade him away for pennies on the dollar. I'm trying to trade him away. Drake London? Would you rather have Drake London? Yeah. Because that situation sucks too. Drake London's situation sucks. I think you should be able to get Drake London plus something with how bad he's played.

32:09Jason Moore:He has not had the career. He's not on the offense. A.J. Brown is on. He's not coming off of a good performance. So in most leagues, I would think it would be, you know, Drake London plus something. And that's the type of deal that I would be looking to make. Obviously, there's a lot of context in every league as to, you know, is this a keeper league? Is this, you know, more nuanced? But A.J. Brown scares me from a Philadelphia Eagles perspective. Their defense and their running game is so doggone good that they don't always need him. We saw that the first couple of weeks. And I think you're going to have a lot of disappearing acts.

32:47Jason Moore:So this is where I'm just saying because he just had a monster game, a lot of people saw him looking like himself. He's obviously A.J. Brown. He carries a humongous name. You feel good with him on your roster. If you can trade him for someone that is more up a cup. Would you trade him for Keenan Allen? I would not trade him for Keenan Allen. I think that Keenan Allen, what you've seen from Ladd McConkie has been very disappointing. I think that'll pinball back and forth between Keenan Allen and Ladd McConkie. Would you trade him for Marvin Harrison? So these are the type of players where I'm looking to trade.

33:29Jason Moore:If I'm going down, if I'm going to another disappointing player, I'm looking to get them plus something. Marv plus something. Abuka? Yeah. Would you trade him for Abuka straight up? Straight up for Abuka. I think I would. You're getting pitched right now. What's that? You're definitely getting a trade offer in your. No, no, I'd rather have Abuka.

33:50Andy Holloway:Oh, okay.

33:50Jason Moore:I think I would trade him. With the injury to Evans, I wouldn't do it. I think I would trade him for Abuka straight up. You can send it and I'll decline it. Yeah, there you go. I also think that. I dare you to send that. He's a great name. I take it. And then I take the offer. Oh, that would be the most amazing.

34:05Andy Holloway:I'll go show you how fast I declined this offer.

34:07Jason Moore:Except.

34:09Andy Holloway:Gotcha, sucker.

34:11Jason Moore:That's how I trade. But he's also someone that coming off of a big game with a big name, you can trade him plus something to maybe elevate, to maybe go up a notch. Oh, yeah.

34:20Mike Wright:You throw A.J. Brown plus somebody that, you know, maybe a younger player. A.J. Brown plus Keon Coleman, A.J. Brown plus Zay Flowers. Yeah, and try to go

34:31Jason Moore:to someone that is looking like, hey, he's going to be a stud this year and it's okay because I'm giving you a stud in A.J. Brown. A.J. Brown's going to have tons of great games. Just like he did this week, I am not calling A.J. Brown a bust on the season, but I think it will be a very his consistency score's not going to be great.

34:50Mike Wright:No, because they'll be disappearing acts. If you offer me Jonathan Taylor and A.J. Brown for a Buka, I'll still turn it down. i promise all right all right i'm gonna i'll make the offer if you want to send that through all right let's talk about some trade for candidates how about that sure um oh my gosh for a moment there i genuinely thought mike you had put javante williams in as your name and i was like we really got to get talking about what we're doing on the show here for a second no i can start

35:16Andy Holloway:because the the the generous trade offer that i received from jason was for my player which is a trade which is a trade four oh so he was trying to do what also my second round pick okay uh it was yeah i was looking for garrett wilson plus yeah my trade for sometimes you have to buy players high that is part of the game we all want to trade for players when they're the lowest in in value and see them skyrocket we all want to buy a penny stock but sometimes you got to buy a big boy stock and i think that garrett wilson is here to stay he is currently the wide receiver nine on the season yeah in terms of like i mean these are the so your trade for is garrett wilson my trade for is garrett wilson now target share percentage of team receiving yards percentage of first read targets like he is right there with puka and jsn of course his quarterback play is is not the same as those guys but if you don't have the quarterback play you better have an amazing amount of opportunity.

36:16Andy Holloway:And then Kyle was digging in. And part of our concern with, say, Marv, we're not getting any layups. And that was part of Garrett Wilson's problem too. From 2022 through 24, he was running a go route, which is very valuable if you catch the ball, but low percentage odds that you're going to come down with it. In the mid-20s through three weeks, he's only running a go route on 7 % of his routes, which to me, when you pair that with the quarterback play, that is good management. That is, I need to make sure that my best player is around my quarterback and can get the ball, and then he can make something happen.

36:59Andy Holloway:So I'm varying on Garrett Wilson being good for fantasy football remainder, regardless of if it's Tyrod or Justin Fields. I think either of them will have the ability to get it done. He'll have some down weeks like he did week two, absolutely. But the way that they're utilizing him, I think that it is more here to stay than it has been in the past for Garrett Wilson. And on top of that, his schedule is quite juicy. You know, I warned about making concrete things about the schedule. But again, trends, right now where it stands, I think the Jets are the fourth or fifth easiest wide receiver schedule moving forward.

37:37Andy Holloway:and then his fantasy playoffs, as people like to talk about it, at Jacksonville, at New Orleans, and then against the New England Patriots. Those are three juicy matchups. Gonzalez will probably be back for New England by then, but that is looking pretty good along with the rest of his schedule, his utilization, his market share. Everything about Garrett Wilson right now screams that he is going to be a top 12 wide receiver at the end of the year.

38:04Mike Wright:How do you feel about Justin Fields in the long term?

38:08Andy Holloway:I think I like him. I think that it is worth going and getting him. Week two was terrible, and you had the concussion, but there will be huge, huge spike weeks, I still believe, for Justin Fields.

38:22Mike Wright:I also made – I meant to ask this during the A.J. Brown conversation, but where are you guys now with the tush push three weeks into this season?

38:29Andy Holloway:Oh, I mean, I've shared it in, I think it was week two, that I want to defend it because when I look at it as it's just a play we can't stop, then you sound like a coward. But the amount that they are doing it and the amount that they are getting away with false starts is like you can't keep doing this. And you can't make the refs call a false start every single time you're doing the play. I think that's kind of the part of their shtick is like, okay, go ahead. Call it every single time. I dare you to try and do that. People will be so mad about the product that they just don't do it. I can't wait to watch it this week, man.

39:11Andy Holloway:It will be gone next week.

39:12Jason Moore:Did you see who Tampa Bay signed? 490 pounds.

39:17Andy Holloway:Desmond Watson. To the practice squad. Yeah, baby. They're going with the big goalie approach. Move this. Why haven't we tried just putting a sumo in the goal?

39:30Mike Wright:You have to have one giant dude on every roster to stop it. What are we doing? Nobody thinks this is fun to watch. I agree. I tried to defend it, and then they just abused it. My trade-for candidate, it was a trade-for going into last week. It's a trade-for going into this week. It's Ashton Gentry of the Las Vegas Raiders. And, you know, I understand how frustrating it's been. he's the running back 33 he was jason jason's two for two two consecutive years in predicting which rookie was way overdrafted it was marvin harrison last year it was ashton jentee this year that's been the case and do i think it will be smooth for jentee no not really you talk to raiders fans raiders uh reporters i don't know if they can stop talking about how bad this offensive line has been and then and then connecting it to the potential nepotism pete carroll's son who is coaching the offensive line and how he needs to go and how this offensive line is the major problem for the team all that being said it is hard to find true bell cow every down backs and ashton jinty is one of them he scored one time on the year it has been tough sledding but the player Jason talked about it on Monday I think Ashton Jintzy is very very good yeah he is making the very very most of a really difficult situation and I think you're going to see some improvement from both the offensive line from his production the touchdown numbers and the kind of getting into the flow of this offense it takes time for rookies there's nobody to threaten him Raheem Mostert hasn't seen a snap Zamir White we've been there done that Lauby I don't like that you know I think he's the perfect buy low right this moment because we got a really pedestrian week from him again but the attempts and opportunities I think you're going to see the targets go back up at least four or five targets a week and you know it's been hard it's been frustrating but I am actively looking to pick up Ashton Jenty because I think that the schedule is going to lighten up a little bit and they're going to figure out how to utilize him better.

41:46Mike Wright:You are smirking a lot. I don't really

41:48Andy Holloway:know because you have found your Ken Walker. Oh gosh. Welcome in.

41:55Mike Wright:Why is that my Ken Walker? Oh, I get it totally.

41:57Andy Holloway:Because it's the exact same argument that I've been making for Ken Walker.

42:01Mike Wright:Ken Walker's argument is all based on injury. Yeah. If Ken Walker never got hurt, I would not

42:05Andy Holloway:be on the opposite side of ken walker the the the inefficiencies i get that part yes of and you're like the talent i'm telling you it's the stupid offensive line the talent should overrule it should point in time and there are plenty there's already plenty of carries of seeing jenty where you're like that is a special special player he's been hit at or behind the line of scrimmage on

42:27Mike Wright:57 of his rushing attempt is that him or walker probably both it's probably that's exactly the

42:32Andy Holloway:walker story yes yeah but but it is look it is because offensive line matters so so much i mean

42:40Jason Moore:you look around the league right now a frustrating i would trade javante for for ash and jenty you look at the teams it might go through wait who would you trade javante oh sure yeah and i think

42:51Andy Holloway:that that's what it might go through i think it i think it might you might be i doubt on that i

42:55Jason Moore:doubt most people that spent what they spent on jenty that are oh and three go on no i no i get it i'm not saying don't offer it i i would offer that i'm i'm saying i think more often than not it will get rejected but if you know no i mean look that's not the only name but i i think jinty

43:13Mike Wright:is a target i think this is the time i think the sentiment you know the fact that any rookie struggling gets so much publicity now with fantasy football we saw with hampton we saw with henderson we've seen it with caleb johnson i mean it's like we it's almost more exciting to to dump on these rookies when they're not performing. And Jente, to me, it's just a matter of getting this team and this offense, which is a new quarterback, dealing with the injuries to Bowers. I think they're going to figure it out.

43:41Andy Holloway:Yeah, Brooks just posted, Javante's at 51 total points and Jente's at 23.

43:45Mike Wright:Yeah, if you're ever going to try it, you never would have dreamed of such things before the season began. And I don't mind throwing in something with Javante to make it go over the finish line. If you want to throw, you know, whatever. You got Travis Hunter on your team with Javante. Sure. Javante and Travis Hunter to try to get Jinty, some sexy production and name. I don't know. That's my pick.

44:05Jason Moore:No, it makes sense. My trade for Canada is someone who's been great. He's going to cost you a lot. It's just like what Mike was saying. Sometimes you've got to pay up. This is not, oh, he's been so bad, you're going to get him for pennies on the dollar. No. People love Josh Jacobs. He's been okay. He's the running back 19. He's just been okay, but he's still been like two running backs have seen 40 % of their team's total rush attempts and targets in all three games this year. It's Saquon and it's Jacobs. Four fantasy running backs have seen 20 plus opportunities in all three games this year. CMC, Saquon, Jonathan Taylor, and Jacobs.

44:38Jason Moore:The workload is there. The thing is, is his schedule so far, like he just is coming off of a game where they shockingly lost against the unbelievable defense of the Cleveland Browns who shut down Derrick Henry and really shut down Josh Jacobs. 16 attempts for 30 yards. That was not Jacobs' fault. That was the Cleveland Browns' fault. They are awesome. They're about to go to Dallas, and Josh Jacobs is going to be unbelievable. I see Josh Jacobs, personally, as like a top five running back. I see him not as, you know, an RB1. I don't know how his situation can be any better than it is. He has a great offensive line, a great offense, a passing game that is kind of struggling but also a defense that is maybe the best in the league right this is the recipe we saw with Saquon last year and and so I think that my my issue I have with Packers wide receivers is just I don't know how much they're going to be needed sure Josh Jacobs is awesome he looks good and he hasn't gone off this year yet you know he's been the big game yeah he hasn't had a big game he hasn't had a single game of yeah he hasn't had a top 10 performance hasn't scored 15 fantasy points on a week welcome to dallas and the rest of season oh packers have the easiest rest of season schedule for running backs their upcoming schedule dallas nice bangles cardinals steelers carolina like okay let me let me ask you i've got some real quick i've got some some things in mind if i had someone who has been going off and is a stud

46:16Mike Wright:a jonathan taylor i was just going to literally read you the names that are finished above jacobs

46:20Jason Moore:on the year jonathan taylor james cook uh i'm i'll throw christian mccaffrey bijon gibbs those type of guys i would be willing to go get jonathan taylor and another really good like i'm weak at wide receiver let's say and i've got jonathan taylor go see if if the josh jacobs team can give josh jacobs and and a in a really good wide receiver because i think you while i'm not like i think Jonathan Taylor might finish as the running back one but you're not going that far down when you go to Josh Jacobs alternatively there are guys like Devon Achan who scored more than him it's looked great like I would much rather have Jonathan Taylor Kyron yeah you mean you'd rather have Josh Jacobs I would rather have Josh Derek Henry would you rather Derek Henry or Josh Jacobs

47:06Mike Wright:straight up I would rather have Josh Jacobs that that's I think that's a big question right there

47:11Jason Moore:And so there are also guys below him where you pair people together and go get Josh Jacobs. But I think Josh Jacobs' rest of season is a top five running back.

47:21Mike Wright:Okay. All right. No, it makes sense. We'll take a break. We'll come back. We'll talk some Thursday Night Football.

47:29Jason Moore:If you're an NFL fan, ESPN is where you need to be this season. It's the biggest lineup they've ever put together. Monday Night Football every week, every game on NFL Network. 49:14Jason Moore:Thursday night breakdown.

49:18Mike Wright:When you have to talk about the Cardinals, is it better to just get it out of the way like this? Yes.

49:22Andy Holloway:Rip it off.

49:24Mike Wright:Thursday night football, Seattle 2-1. Cardinals 2-1. Vegas line, Seattle on the road, minus 1.5.

49:30Jason Moore:Opened with the Cardinals minus one and a half. Interesting. People have spoken.

49:35Mike Wright:Yeah. I mean, Arizona's defense has played well. The overrunner in this game is 43 and a half. Seattle's defense, same story. Special teams last week. Defense was the story. I do see the game as a coin flip. The fact is in Arizona. Seattle won both games last year. One of them was 16 to 6. Hopefully we don't get that on Thursday night football. That would be a tough start to the week. week 14 was 30 to 18 they won them both Kyler is 1-3 on Thursday nights in his career 2-8 versus Seattle Seattle getting back some key pieces in the secondary Seattle had a really really easy time at home last week against the New Orleans Saints you know one of the big pieces of this game that I'll start with the running game Arizona lost James Conner for the season it's going to be Trey Benson

50:27Andy Holloway:which he's a good play this week

50:29Mike Wright:he's a good play he's a good back um you know do you do you see him kind of sliding in an rb2 range this week uh yeah i mean chase brown and how bad he's been would you rather play

50:40Andy Holloway:trey benson i would play benson i would as well what about quench on judkins and what we saw last

50:46Jason Moore:week versus trey benson judkins who's he he's got a tough matchup this week uh detroit yeah i mean I want Judkins in my lineup.

50:59Andy Holloway:He had a tough matchup against the Green Bay Packers.

51:01Mike Wright:Let's try to have an unemotional, real conversation about Marvin Harrison Jr. Fair. It was rough? The silence is deafening? No.

51:15Andy Holloway:You said fair. You said fair, and Jason is only being fair at this point.

51:20Jason Moore:That wasn't me. That was Marvin. Sorry. Go on. All right. I'm done.

51:25Mike Wright:I doubt it. Marvin Harrison or DK Metcalf against Minnesota? Tough, tough defense and matchup for Metcalf. Do you believe that Marvin Harrison will bounce back this week from a really frustrating, disappointing 3-44, blew a touchdown, blew maybe a 75-yard touchdown earlier in the game? Like the emotional – like if you wanted to – I think Marvin Harrison is a baby by now. Yeah, I agree. I agree with that. It's so negative.

51:59Jason Moore:It's so negative, and what's ironic is that the thing that pushes it over the top in negative is his two drops in that game. Sure. But also, they're frustrating because what could have been? And if he had actually caught those, which obviously Marvin Harrison knows how to catch passes, he's not going to drop every pass. This should not be a sentence we have to say. I know, but it's like he's going to catch those more often and he drops those. Put your hands vertical, my man. And, you know, had he caught those last week, it would be the exact opposite. It'd be like, wow, how can you possibly bench Marvin Harrison after he gets 125 yards and two touchdowns, which is basically what he would have had.

52:42Mike Wright:I just sent Mike a trade offer, a one-for-one trade offer for Marvin Harrison.

52:46Jason Moore:You did?

52:46Mike Wright:And Mike can bring it up, and then you can discuss what side you'd rather have.

52:50Jason Moore:Oh, my. I was, is it, it's not the player I think it is. No. It's Marv for Zay Flowers. Oh, okay. I was like, you wouldn't have done Ibuka for Marv.

53:01Mike Wright:Of course not. Okay. No, Marv sucks. I don't want a sucky player.

53:05Andy Holloway:We wouldn't be talking about it. We'd be talking about a trade that went through, right?

53:08Mike Wright:Oh, yeah, that one would be, by the way, if you send Jonathan Taylor and AJ Brown over, I will reject that.

53:14Jason Moore:Yeah, you already sent that offer to me and I declined it.

53:18Mike Wright:Oh, yeah, but if you send it, I'll decline it is what I'm saying. All right.

53:21Andy Holloway:That is an interesting conversation that I will have to think about.

53:25Mike Wright:Yeah, but Marvin Harrison right now is sitting in the wide receiver 2-3 fringe range. It's hard to go away from someone like Kuge for Marv. Kuge has been... Oh, I would not. I would be playing Kuge. I'd be playing Brian Thomas Jr. because of the target volume. Would you? I think I would.

53:44Andy Holloway:Trevor Lawrence is really, really bad at football. Yeah, I would be playing... How about Kyler? Brian Thomas. I think Kyler is better than Trevor Lawrence.

53:52Mike Wright:That's the Arizona side. Trey McBride leading all tight ends in target chair. You keep playing him.

53:58Andy Holloway:Oh, don't worry. The Seattle Seahawks are currently dead last in allowing fantasy points to the tight end position. So keep playing Trey McBride.

54:06Mike Wright:Yeah, I mean, the Cardinals offense runs through, like, not wide receivers. That's been the depressing part of it. Sam Darnold is your stream of the week, Mike. Kenneth Walker has been on fire. Charbonnet will play. he was a full practice on Monday and Tuesday so you will figure out what the balance is going to be the Cardinals defense has been pretty good so far this year but I don't think it's going to stop

54:29Jason Moore:you from playing Kenneth Walker is it no no yeah the Cardinals defense they they did a an admirable job against Christian McCaffrey it's a very difficult um you know a player to try to stop and they looked pretty good doing that they didn't give up a ton of points to the to the 49ers last week however obviously they didn't have a starting quarterback in there even though mac jones is so good according to mac jones um yeah i i think you you certainly keep starting kenneth walker because while you'll get dud games you'll get those massive big blow-up games too jason's in your

55:02Mike Wright:lineup where are you with cooper cup versus tory horton cup had a huge week too and two duds tory horton not a big yardage uh guy yet but he got into the end zone if you had to choose between

55:11Jason Moore:one of those two for a spot start for a spot start i would currently be starting cup but i would much rather roster horton and have the either one on my bench yeah i can agree with that i don't really want to force either of them into the lineup okay for cup blew up week two but

55:29Andy Holloway:15 yards week one and 31 in week three is not yet do you guys have any other thoughts on this matchup do you have a prediction for Thursday night I do think Seattle wins the game they

55:44Jason Moore:look like the truly better team the Cardinals cannot score their offense right now looks broken and while their defense has been playing admirable they've had pretty easy go of it so far I don't

55:58Mike Wright:think they've been tested because all three of the teams San Francisco Arizona and now Seattle have all got to play the Saints.

56:05Jason Moore:Right. And the Seahawks blew the tar out of them, and the Cardinals eeked out a win.

56:11Mike Wright:As did the 49ers. Yeah. Yeah. All right, we will turn the page then and jump into some mailbag.

56:20Jason Moore:Mailbag. Presented by NFL Sunday Ticket on YouTube TV.

56:27Mike Wright:All right, into the mailbag we go. If you have a question, go to the website, thefantasyfootballers.com, click that Submit a Question button, or you can dial our voicemail hotline, 302-464-TFFB. We're going to kick it off in today's mailbag with a voicemail.

56:42Jason Moore:Hey, Ballers. This is Wayne from Kansas City. Love the show. This week, would you start Baker Mayfield or Daniel Jones in a one-quarterback lead? Thank you.

56:54Andy Holloway:Baker Mayfield against the Philadelphia Eagles or Daniel Jones on the road against the Los Angeles Rams. Also, I am so thrilled that this is a real question.

57:08Jason Moore:And it might be a real answer of Daniel Jones. That's my real answer. He's ahead in my rankings, and it makes more sense. So far, Daniel Jones. Losing Mike Evans. Yeah, exactly. Losing Mike Evans, playing against the Philadelphia Eagles. It's not going to be easy for Baker to do enough with Sterling Shepard. I think they're going to have to really run the ball well. if they want to compete against the Eagles this week. Whereas you look at Daniel Jones, he was the quarterback four, the quarterback six, and the quarterback 12 so far on the season. And, you know, one of those, the quarterback six, was against a very good defense in Denver.

57:45Jason Moore:And so, you know, the Rams, this game is a 49.5 point over under. It's currently the highest of the week. Yeah, I would like to play Daniel Jones.

57:55Mike Wright:Ed in New Zealand, start Jameson Williams or Brian Thomas Jr. this week. underdog going into week four sitting at one and two don't want to keep getting hurt by btj but i feel like the floor is the same with both players love the show please help it's brian thomas

58:11Jason Moore:jr you you can't go away from the amount of targets that brian thomas jr has been getting i mean obviously his catching problem has become a mental yip like it's in his head because it's happening too often right now uh but you know this is a guy who's seven targets 12 targets six targets he's on pace for 141 targets um i you know what is the ceiling for either guy the floor for either guy who has more catches on the season well you're gonna say jameson williams of course because because he has more catches i believe brian thomas has 28 of his

58:48Mike Wright:i'm just saying that's shocking to me like i did not expect to see that i knew the targets were out of control on the Thomas favor but it literally Jameson Williams who has eight catches on the year

58:57Andy Holloway:has more than Brian Thomas if you zoom out do you have any concern just overall for Detroit this week they're playing the Cleveland Browns I do not think they'll be able to throw the ball deep

59:07Mike Wright:so I do I would play I would agree with Jason I think Brian Thomas Jr. is the play the the biggest problem we saw this frequently last week and every week you don't have time You ever seen Miles Garrett before? You ever seen Mason Graham?

59:22Andy Holloway:Miles Garrett is a superhero.

59:23Mike Wright:Mason Graham is making that Travis Hunter trade look like the worst trade in the history of sports. He has pressure on the defensive front for Cleveland. You do not have time. I have wondered that kind of silently.

59:37Andy Holloway:They traded so much for Travis Hunter.

59:41Mike Wright:He was a very good trade right now for Cleveland.

59:43Andy Holloway:and i it's it of course it's early but it's like you traded all that and then use the number two pick on you like that guy better be making an impact and it feels like he's not right now yeah yeah so i think he's not a trade of that magnitude impact yeah unfortunately like i would

1:00:04Mike Wright:say so far through the season despite the huge week too i mean i'm definitely disappointed in Jamison Williams' play in production. I mean, it's been – he was – he hasn't really changed his utilization. It's been big play dependent. I was hoping to see more like 6-7-8 target range.

1:00:22Andy Holloway:I mean, that's what we saw the whole second half of last year.

1:00:25Mike Wright:If you want to have a little bit of encouragement there – now, it's not going to come this week with Cleveland, but, I mean, you've played at Green Bay and at Baltimore in two of those games. Those have been difficult matchups. where the running game has had to dictate things. I think it will open up a little bit for them. But, you know, I've been bummed. I've been disappointed. So somebody insult me because that's when he scored last time. So the last time you insulted me about him, he had a big touchdown.

1:00:55Jason Moore:Halfway through the game, hop on Twitter and roast Andy.

1:00:58Mike Wright:That worked really well. All right, we got another voicemail. Yo, yo, yo, ballers. Love the show. I just got Debo Samuel in a trade by giving away Chase Brown. I have another league mate, though, asking for Debo in exchange for Qs. Should I do it or should I keep Debo? Thanks. I think you're going to get different answers from this group on this one. I'm on the Debo side by far. I mean, right now you have a significant injury potential for Terry McLaurin. Debo's only bad game was the one game he had no Jaden Daniels, and he actually didn't play poorly. He had like a monstrous near-touchdown return on a kickoff.

1:01:38Andy Holloway:I would push back and say his week two was bad. He salvaged it.

1:01:45Mike Wright:I mean, you had eight targets, though.

1:01:47Andy Holloway:Yeah, but seven for 44 is not great. And it was, all of us admit, that was the garbage-y touchdown. That saved the day. So I'm not saying I'm completely out on Debo, because week one was very nice, but between the two of those guys, I would buy into what Quentin Johnston is doing and the Chargers passing attack.

1:02:12Jason Moore:I actually like both players. This is not an anti-either player take, but the yardage – forget the touchdowns, right? Touchdowns aren't very sticky, and they're pushing huge up drastically. 79 yards in week one, 71 yards in week two, 89 yards in week three, and two-thirds of those were against really good defenses. in the Broncos and the Chiefs, what Quinton Johnston is doing, and more so what we're seeing the Chargers do with how they're playing, I'm buying into Kuge as being a legitimate top 20 wide receiver this year. So Kuge is your answer? Yeah, Kuge is my answer.

1:02:52Mike Wright:All right. Well, then your answer here, prime time in Hawaii, A.J. Brown or Debo in a PPR? A.J.

1:02:59Jason Moore:Brown.

1:02:59Mike Wright:Okay. I think we'd all go A.J. Brown there. just for the ceiling. Looks really, really good. All right, that was today's mailbag.
