In short
The Fantasy Footballers recap Week 1 (Sept 14) with “studs & duds” and “rapid (over)-reactions,” focusing on what week-one results mean for fantasy. They note an NFL opening-weekend scoring record (53.3 points/game) and limited major injuries, but discuss key injury impacts: AJ Brown out ~6 weeks (high ankle), Miles Garrett knee surgery/IR, Kyler Murray severe injury, Ladd McConkie chest injury, Zay Flowers hamstring re-aggravation (day-to-day), Jacoby Lane fractured wrist, and others.
Guests
none. Hosts are Andy Holloway, Jason Moore, and Mike Wright (plus recurring “Monday Punday” crew reactions, but no named external guests).
Key claims
Cardinals’ offense should match expectations for fantasy (Trey McBride, Michael Wilson, Marvin Harrison production context); “don’t overreact” is hard, but some questions seem answered; Ravens offense clicked with Declan Doyle calling plays (300/150/100 trifecta); Cowboys defense not improved; Titans not startable; Dolphins schedule may be brutal; Jared Goff “backward pass” rule overturned on intent.
Notable examples
Caleb Williams QB1 (37.3, 10 rushes/2 TDs); Josh Allen strong with Dalton Kincaid; Jalen Coker top WR (29.8); Derrick Henry 34.8; Bucky Irving usage questioned (8 carries); Tyler Shuck/ Juwan Johnson early disappointment; Packers collapse after leading late.

1:09Jason Moore:Welcome to the Fantasy Footballers Podcast with your hosts, Andy Holloway, Jason Moore, and Mike Wright.
1:27Mike Wright:Welcome in.
1:31Jason Moore:You've been healed. I'm back, baby. Week one was good for Andy's soul. Yes.
1:40Mike Wright:Welcome into the show. Oh, my. Monday, September 14th. I am so excited for this episode because we, I mean, we were together all of you. yesterday watching all of these games but this is our first chance to kind of like touch on all the different things we saw and how it impacts fantasy players and um man what a spectacular
2:01Jason Moore:day yeah it was it was really fun i don't know why hold on a second but it's gonna oh oh well
2:06Andy Holloway:come on there's some changing happening to the set real quick let me just do some things changed out the centerpiece yeah that's fine all right no that's assigned cardinals wait if we're doing
2:17Jason Moore:a mid-podcast change? This is an early podcast change. He is now putting on a Cardinals jersey. He has replaced our footballer's hat with a David Johnson. Our footballer's hat? Our helmet. Oh, man, that's tight. All right. They're supposed to be fitted. He's got a Cardinals hat, and we are all in on the Cardinals. This is a little shameful.
2:40Mike Wright:Oh, here's Justin Herbert on the desk. Oh, Justin Herbert.
2:43Jason Moore:Goodbye, Justin.
2:45Mike Wright:Hold on, Lamar, you had a good week. All right.
2:47Jason Moore:Why are we replacing Lamar? Andy's just going full Cardinals.
2:51Mike Wright:All right, I'm ready for the show. Full homer. I'm ready for the show.
2:54Andy Holloway:We good, guys? You sound a little winded from changing. I did. Jason.
3:00Jason Moore:That is an embarrassment.
3:01Mike Wright:Is it immature of me? No.
3:03Jason Moore:No. I brought a Cardinals hat today, too. Yes. Because this is the only chance to get all season.
3:10Mike Wright:Matt, when we walked in, Mr. 49er over there, the Falcon, he's like, you know, he thought celebrate while you can. Yeah.
3:19Jason Moore:Yes.
3:19Mike Wright:Yeah.
3:20Jason Moore:Yeah, we are well aware that this is our only opportunity.
3:23Mike Wright:Nine and a half point underdogs. Congrats. Called it right here
3:27Jason Moore:on this show. You did have an almost upset. Although that was just a full upset. My Twitter was filled. Yeah.
3:31Mike Wright:Good win. My Twitter was filled with well, two things. Impressed people and depressed Charger fans. Oh, the Chargers found a way to Charger. I mean, come on, Chargers.
3:41Jason Moore:I mean, they are who
3:43Andy Holloway:they will always be. Just accept a disappointment. Charger
3:47Jason Moore:fans are like Cardinal fans but they like pretend now yeah I will say this because look all it's all fun and games we we're we are in Arizona we're Cardinals fans or we try to be it's impossible
3:59Mike Wright:um so it's fun people might remember all of our negative comments all offseason yeah it's it's
4:04Jason Moore:it's fun to celebrate I don't but we also you know leading up to week one we kept saying how do you how do you not overreact to week one yada yada yada it's impossible but you have to be aware And I would just like to remind people last year. Yes. The Raiders went on the road in week one to the New England Patriots. Oh, man. And they beat them 20 to 13. And it was like, hey, maybe the Raiders are OK. No, they were literally the worst team and they got the number one pick.
4:32Mike Wright:So you're saying we can still get the number one pick?
4:34Jason Moore:I am. Absolutely. OK. And I'm saying that the Chargers could still go to the Super Bowl like the Patriots did. And I'm just saying that the Cardinals are at home.
4:42Mike Wright:home opener against the backup quarterback Drew Locke of the Seahawks. That's all I'm saying. That's going to make it even worse. I'm just saying the division, they've got to come through what? They've got to come through what? They've got to come through Arizona. Part of the ridiculous weekend. We had the highest scoring opening weekend, was it ever? Yeah. 53.3 points per game average. That's insane. NFL record for opening Sunday. Thanks Bears.
5:10Jason Moore:Kind of pushing that average up.
5:12Mike Wright:Yeah, it was a crazy week. We got so much to talk about. Mike was there with you Sunday live, which was spectacular, leading into kickoff. So many of you were on the ultimate dashboard at jointhefoot.com, loading up the rosters and optimizing for week one and all the rankings. We still got a game tonight. We still got a fun game tonight, Kansas City and Denver. We get to see K-Bone. Hopefully we have a game. Hopefully it's fun.
5:41Jason Moore:I can see this being a defensive battle. We had so much offense yesterday. And you know what?
5:46Andy Holloway:That's all right.
5:47Jason Moore:And I will say this. It's all right. We did escape with not too many injuries. Not that there were zero. But I would say for an opening weekend, it was pretty good, especially after the Wednesday-Thursday barrage of injuries started the week. It was like, oh, no.
6:02Andy Holloway:That was a great weekend of football. Yeah.
6:04Jason Moore:Or a great Sunday.

6:05Mike Wright:Yeah, I mean, the only real injury, there's a couple, and one of them was another my guy. Yeah. Yeah. So that's cool. That's cool, Lad. The only, the singular charger. Yours had an excuse. The singular charger that did anything, right?
6:19Jason Moore:It was very good.
6:20Mike Wright:The only contributing factor to the entire Chargers offense that week, injured.
6:26Andy Holloway:Lad looked like.
6:27Mike Wright:Maybe his organs are scrambled.
6:29Andy Holloway:He looked like he just, it was immediately like, whoa, this was the call. This was a great call. Lad is going to be the dude. Heavily featured. and then Justin Herbert was like, hey, lad, how about you go to the hospital?
6:43Mike Wright:That was not a good pass. No.
6:46Andy Holloway:Because he threw a little guy into coverage. You can't do that to your guys. But he did, and then lad suffered the consequences.
6:54Mike Wright:Mike, you posted kind of a quick question. What did you post on Twitter?
6:58Andy Holloway:Yeah, I posted, look, after week one, what is the hottest offseason question you believe is already solved? Oh, we figured it out. Yeah, Cardinals undefeated. Cardinals going to the Super Bowl. Because we say don't overreact, but you do need to react. Like there is stuff that happens in week one where you're like, that is going to end up being what the truth is for that player or their team.
7:22Mike Wright:The Arizona Cardinals, here's my answer. The Arizona Cardinals offense will be what I thought it was going to be. It's going to be a good offense. You could say the Chargers are bad. Cardinals have too many good weapons to not be a good offense. So I think for fantasy, they may never win another game. In fact, the odds are probably against them doing so. But Jeremiah Love, Trey McBride, Michael Wilson, Kendrick Bourne in the slot. Yeah, what's that all about? The Cardinals had one catch for Marvin Harrison.
7:48Jason Moore:If you swap jerseys with Marvin Harrison and Kendrick Bourne, we'd be so happy right now. Yes, that is true. You'd be like, dude, more of eight catches? That is true. He had eight? I believe so. I think it was like eight for 75. I do think that the Cardinals offense is what we want for fantasy.
8:03Andy Holloway:Is that what it was? Yeah. I agree with you that I think the offense is going to be great. Seattle is a much different defense.
8:12Mike Wright:Oh, my gosh, these comments. So we posted that. Mike posted, after week one, what is the hottest offseason question you believe is already solved? Here are some answers you guys provided us. The Chargers are still the Chargers. Fantastic wrote in, McDaniel is more weird than good.
8:28Jason Moore:But I still think that they will not be as bad as what you saw this week.
8:33Mike Wright:You know what was wild is the Cardinals had, like, no pass rush last year. And the Chargers got their top tackles back. And why couldn't they protect him? Why couldn't they protect him? Did you see the play?
8:46Andy Holloway:There's one constant on that offense, guys. Oh, the quarterback. Yeah. The one who keeps just matrix dodging all blame around him. he's the one who's always there did you watch the highlight? the play where three Cardinals ran in free the quarterback is the one who has to be like hey I think we might need to change protection here that's his job
9:10Jason Moore:but I can't imagine his protection was hey you three offensive linemen go block that one dude no but he got confused because did you see that play? three of their linemen went and blocked one guy
9:19Andy Holloway:yes because the edge on I think the left dropped into coverage and confused them And they were like, ooh, we don't know what to do. I'm just saying.
9:29Mike Wright:I mean, look, if it goes south for the Chargers this year, you have no choice but to lay it at the feet of Herbert. We can't do the excuse-making anymore. When you can throw the ball like he can throw the ball, I mean, you look at that and you say, well, something else is going wrong, right? But we have been there with some gunslingers in the past.
9:48Andy Holloway:Very, very physically gifted. Jake Cutler is one of them. Maybe it's a week one snafu.
9:53Mike Wright:Yeah, I mean, it's week one. And they rate the ship. It's week one.
9:55Jason Moore:So what are the things that we think we did get an answer to?
9:58Mike Wright:Phil says, is the Cowboys defense better?
10:01Jason Moore:Nope. And that's one of the things to me as well, that it's like, oh, okay.
10:06Andy Holloway:That one's tough. You got to give the credit to Jackson Dart and the New York Giants. That offense was just absolutely firing.
10:15Mike Wright:The addition of fields and likely make such a difference to some optionality. You didn't have to just lean on neighbors every time. Also Malik neighbors.
10:24Jason Moore:Yeah, he's good. Did you see how Neighbors was able to finally decide to play?
10:29Mike Wright:I did hear that. Yeah, John Harbaugh tackled him?
10:32Jason Moore:Yes. John Harbaugh before the game tackled him.
10:35Mike Wright:Can you imagine if he injured him? Can you fathom that? I had the thought of like. Did he really hurt Harbaugh? Well, no, I don't.
10:43Jason Moore:But, yeah, I mean, Neighbors' family didn't come to the game. Like, that's how. Wow, really? He was really not sure if he was going to play. And he didn't want them to come if he wasn't going to play. and then Harbaugh's like, well, I'm going to tackle him. He's going to be fine.
10:56Mike Wright:Yeah, I mean, you traded me. We did a CeeDee Lamb for neighbors. I'm drinking this into my own hands. And I'm not sure. I wouldn't rather have neighbors. Phil says, or sorry, Sam, Parker Washington is the top dog for the Jets. Yeah, that one I'm in on. You think that's solved?
11:10Jason Moore:Yeah, I think that's solved.
11:11Mike Wright:Matt Fernandez, there is no 1A, 1B in Tampa. Bucky is the dude.
11:15Jason Moore:Oh, just like I knew, baby. You knew that right when you were on the clock? Right when I was on the clock and decided to draft him. The clouds parted.
11:23Mike Wright:The sun started to shine in, and I could see.
11:26Andy Holloway:Bucky is my dude.
11:27Mike Wright:Bucky looked good. And you know what looked great? Seven targets. Yes.
11:30Andy Holloway:I'll say TBD on that one.
11:33Mike Wright:I think mostly solved for me. I can't read that name. DJ Moore is still really good is another statement from a Twitter.
11:43Jason Moore:I think for fantasy, he's going to be pretty good. I do.
11:46Andy Holloway:That one I think is tough because it's like his huge play, the what was it, whatever, a 50-yard touchdown. Awesome. But it was the type where the DB fully sold out to catch the ball and whiffed. I like eight targets. And DJ Moore is just free to house it. So not taking away from the play, but I wouldn't say. But you took away from the play a little. Well, I'm taking away from the DJ Moore is still really good.
12:13Mike Wright:Okay. John says no one on the Tennessee Titans is startable for fantasy football.
12:17Jason Moore:Holy moly. Okay. So Carnell Tate's my guy because Carnell Tate is an amazing player. and I'm already week one like crap did I is Cam Ward that bad he can't get just even a smidge better I was hoping that you know Brian Dable coming in and obviously the preseason was vanilla and they were going to scheme some stuff up but this was the Jets I've never seen a more boring terrible looking it was like a preseason vanilla off like wait did you not realize this was week one cam ward stinks man solved it feels solved it feels it feels bad awful ryan said the 2025 patriots were a product of an easy schedule no i wouldn't do that i'm not going that far that
13:01Mike Wright:one i disagree with did you so the titans ran 49 total plays and only three in the red zone in that game did you see that the i think the saints ran 84 plays so i did you look at the saints numbers that's almost oh they had more it's almost double yeah you had the extra time but they they
13:18Jason Moore:ran so many plays yeah and they also won the game uh the new orleans say it's lost by one congrats lions home fans but that that scoop and score on defense we need an absolute nonsense call i don't i still don't understand how that was not a fumble in any way shape or form i don't see people even discussing no it's not coming it's the nfl's not coming out and defending it like anyways there was a play where Goff was dropping back to pass. Don't worry guys. His intention was to throw it forward. So it was not a fumble because in his heart he wanted to go forward with his pass. I mean, is this just us waking up to the rule?
13:56Jason Moore:Maybe, maybe. I haven't seen someone, like Mike's saying, I haven't seen someone coming out.
14:01Mike Wright:I've seen some posts that are like, should this have counted? Yeah. That type of stuff.
14:05Andy Holloway:I don't understand. It's like, so if I'm I just, I don't, it it can be pure easy no speculation it's black and white if the ball goes backwards even if you're being hit with a forward passing motion if it goes backwards i've got the rule it's a lateral all right okay all right uh this is item one talk about the heart if contact by an opponent material
14:27Mike Wright:effects materially affects a passer after the passer begins his throwing motion it is a forward pass if he passes the ball regardless of where the ball strikes the ground a player an official or anything else. When this occurs, intentional grounding rules do not apply. When the passer intends to throw a forward pass and is contacted by an opponent before beginning the throwing motion, the direction of the pass is the responsibility of the passer if he passes the ball, and intentional grounding rules do apply.
14:52Jason Moore:It sounds like they got it right, but I feel like we can go back and find a dozen plays in the past where they have then got it wrong.
14:59Mike Wright:Yeah, you can say the rules are broken if you want.
15:02Jason Moore:Yeah. Well, all right.
15:03Andy Holloway:It was a turn-in-through exciting game. That pitch I threw, I intended to pitch it forward. Yeah. That's not a fumble.
15:11Mike Wright:I mean, it does seem really silly because the problem, and if you didn't see the play, essentially Jared Goff went to throw a pass. It ends up being decidedly backwards because he was impacted while the throw happened. It was originally a fumble on the field. The Saints scooped and scored it. But then you're like thinking, well, nothing matters here on the review because a lateral is a fumble, right? If you threw the ball intentionally backwards, so it doesn't matter. We were all surprised when it was overturned, unaware that intent of the heart was such a big factor.
15:41Jason Moore:That is an official rule. A couple other things I think were answered. I did not know if the Baltimore Ravens offense would be good or not with their offensive line changes. Declan Doyle. Yeah, apparently you don't need Lindenbaum for Derrick Henry. Seems like he was just in the way. Hold on, let me try and find the – Also, the Bears' defense stinks. I'm so thrilled about that.
16:05Andy Holloway:This was a tweet from Jameson Hensley. It says, in offensive coordinator Declan Doyle's first game as a play caller, the Ravens produced the first game in their 31-year history with this trifecta, a 300-yard passer, 150-yard receiver, and 100-yard rusher.
16:21Mike Wright:I think that middle one was the hard one to do.
16:23Jason Moore:And I would say finally, Sean Mannion did not fix the Philadelphia Eagles. Their offense, they won the game. Hurts was running. Okay, and Hurts ended up with, you know, like 47 rushing yards. Like a jog.
16:34Mike Wright:Part of the offseason reality that we have to face every year is that when teams make changes, they make changes to improve, but half the teams don't improve from the changes. They intended to improve. Like Brian Dable. The intention was to improve. Yeah. We didn't see it in week one. They should give them the win. They intended to win that game. And through one week, I will say this. What a dumb rule. It's one week. It's two rookie wideouts. It's one coming off of injury. I'm not so sure the Dolphins are going to be any good. Oh, the Dolphins' offense. I could be really, really off on my Malik Willis hopes there.
17:08Andy Holloway:Do you know what their schedule is?
17:09Mike Wright:It's not good. Oh, it's as bad as the Cardinals.
17:11Andy Holloway:Let's just real quick before the bye week. We get at San Francisco.
17:17Mike Wright:Oh, I'm very aware of that. Kansas City at Minnesota.
17:19Andy Holloway:There's two games they can win this year. And the Bengals. The Jets games? The two Jets games. Yeah.
17:23Mike Wright:If you look at the Dolphins' schedule. Not if Gino has anything to say about it. If you don't win week one against the Raiders, you're not beating the Bills. You're not going to beat the Patriots. No. They play. They do play the Chargers, guys. Yeah, they play the Chargers. The Dolphins might not win a game. In a given Sunday. Well, we have more reactions from the weekend, as we always do. The very first edition of this year, and we have a bunch of great ones. I will say three-fourths of what I reviewed on the Monday Ponday seem to be on the negative side of people's experiences. Maybe three-fourths of those were Colston Loveland.
18:00Mike Wright:But here we go. Monday Ponday reactions from the crew. I'll start. Well, let Mike start with this one.
18:09Andy Holloway:Zay Powers.
18:10Mike Wright:Yes, sir. Ashton Plenty. Oh, and Dalton Wynk. What about Parker Watch Me Win? Parker Watch Me Win. How about Chuba Hubba Hubba?
18:20Jason Moore:Yeah. And Isaiah Lovely, or Isaiah Certainly.
18:26Andy Holloway:Or David Mangumery. Or Jameer. Gives me that. Give me that. Give me that. Christian Gigawatson. Oh, it was not all good, despite the routes. Katzen. Colston Dudland.
18:45Mike Wright:Or Ghost in Loveland. Yeah.
18:48Andy Holloway:And you had Jamar Waste, of course. That's fake May That's written fake make Why don't you take the next one Let's go with Bustin Herbert
18:59Jason Moore:Bustin Herbert How about Faker Mayfield And you had a heap and pile of pits
19:08Jason Moore:Stinky Marshawn Void Terry McMorrin
19:11Andy Holloway:George Little Jay I'll let you do this last one
19:15Jason Moore:I had to end with this one Carnell Taint
19:21Mike Wright:yeah to be clear i could have i could have gone with carnell ain't there oh that was we uh we got classy here we got in classy classy style um that's cam cam ward i can't
19:34Jason Moore:wait like genuinely if can't can't ward if can't ward if he were to be benched they would be better
19:44Andy Holloway:You know who's up if he is? It doesn't matter. Okay. But who? Mitchell Trubisky.
19:50Jason Moore:Dude, heck yes. No joke. If Mitchell Trubisky stepped in there, that offense would be at least twice.
19:58Andy Holloway:Can we get a J.J. McCarthy injury slash soft benching here? Yeah, exactly. I mean, you can't do that as a team. You have to develop him. I know.
20:09Mike Wright:You have to hope. But, man, that was bad. But Instagram and on X, you can send those in every week at Fantasy Footballers on Instagram at the FFBallers on X and submit them with hashtag Monday Punday every Sunday night. Let's take a break and we'll talk news.
20:27Mike Wright:What's up, Foot Clan? You are confident and disciplined and focused on details, just like everyone here at the Fantasy Footballers, right? Those are words you use to describe us. In other words, you were made to drive the 2026 Sierra 1500 Denali, a full-size pickup combining capability with elevated design and advanced technology. 21:24Jason Moore:If you're an NFL fan, ESPN is where you need to be this season. It's the biggest lineup they've ever put together. Monday Night Football, every week, every game on NFL Network. Now also available with an ESPN Unlimited plan. And for the first time ever, Super Bowl 61. Marquee matchups, MVP quarterbacks, international games, the whole season start to finish. Football's on ESPN.
21:58Jason Moore:News and notes from around the league.
22:03Mike Wright:All right, we have a lot to get into, including a whole bunch of this.
22:07Andy Holloway:Oh, man. Money, money, money, money, money. He's just making it rain.
22:11Mike Wright:All right, so DeAndre Swift, three-year,$33 million extension. This was all prior to kickoff. Tucker Craft, four-year,$75 million extension. Michael Mayer. Oddly timed three-year,$45 million extension. The timing of that one. For the Raiders. Oh, boy. Any thoughts on those deals?
22:31Jason Moore:The Swift one is – Nice hat, Jason. Thank you. I'm a diehard lifelong Cardinals fan. The Swift one is interesting, especially for Dynasty Leagues, where this was a team that over the last couple of years since Ben Johnson got there, there were rumors for them to take a high draft pick at running back. They were in the market on some of the bigger named running backs. The way that the Lions took Gibbs and now they're like, hey, Swift is our dude. We're happy with him. And that's a big deal because this run game and this offense is going to be awesome. And what we saw from the Bears' defense is they had a couple of offseason injuries that were unfortunate to their defense, really hurt them.
23:12Jason Moore:And it is just so good for fantasy because their defense looks very bad.
23:18Mike Wright:Do you realize they had almost three 100-yard rushers, sort of? I mean, they had two. Was Caleb almost there? Not quite. But, I mean, he was in the 60s. That's how you do the stat, man. With 100 from Manungai and 120-something from Swift, they scored 59 points. I think their record-setting season is off to a good start. So our guys on the Bears had a good week, right?
23:40Andy Holloway:Yeah. Right?
23:42Jason Moore:Yeah.
23:44Mike Wright:Is your guy Kalief Raymond? If you score 59 points, obviously Loveland, big game.
23:49Andy Holloway:All three big names.
23:50Mike Wright:Bird in huge game.
23:51Andy Holloway:Yes.
23:52Mike Wright:Odun's a big game. We'll get to them in the duds. Tucker Crafts deal. I mean we all know he looks the part they're locking him up while they can on a cheaper deal and then Michael Mayer they're not letting him go these teams with their double tight ends
24:08Andy Holloway:it has nothing to do with Bowers Bowers doesn't play the tight end role that Michael Mayer plays Brock Bowers is a slot player
24:15Jason Moore:they didn't have an injury to Michael Mayer and then in one day go let's get a contract this was already in the works
24:23Mike Wright:we did not get the best news on our high ankle sprain patients here. AJ Brown expected to miss six weeks. Gross. I believe they are a week 11 by six more weeks. Statistically, you have a three-week reduction of production. I've got to find a new way to say that. A reduction of production. You've got six weeks you're out, a three-week reduction, a bi-week mixed in. And then fantasy playoff glory. I mean, maybe, but you've got to get there. That sucks. My guy, one of them, injured here, Dajon Stribling. He's going to miss at least a month. If you look into this injury, it's a deltoid ligament sprain of the ankle.
25:02Mike Wright:You don't hear that very often. This is, he couldn't put weight on it. He was carted off the field. This is an injury that often leads to surgery, or you need surgery right away, but essentially they're in a position where they can see if rehabbing gets him back before that decision is made because if you make it in four or five weeks and it's season ending versus now season ending, You can give him a chance to get back.
25:27Jason Moore:Yeah, it'll be interesting to see if they throw him on IR. A.J. Brown was placed on IR. I would imagine they will, but TBD.
25:34Andy Holloway:Also, I mean, can we talk to big anatomy here? Oh, big anatomy.
25:39Mike Wright:Yeah, let's be careful with that, but go on.
25:42Andy Holloway:Yeah. Your muscles. Yeah. Your deltoids. Yeah. Where are those? That's in the lower meat. No, no, no. No, no, your actual deltoid muscles. Ah. They are in the upper body. Why is there a deltoid ligament in your ankle? The head bone's connected to the, I believe. Just saying.
26:02Mike Wright:That's really strange. We couldn't find another word? Maybe they do the same thing down there. I mean, Mike, big anatomy. Don't bring it up here. I'm more of an expert in almost upsets. There's three other guys who could have chimed in. Oh, those guys don't know the deltoid from their... Well, maybe Josh does. I was going to say, one of these guys is a biologist. Biology major. How many deltoids do you got, Papa? One on each side. Wait, what are you? The top and the bottom? Top and the bottom. Yep. No, that was my answer. One on each side. He's like, no further questions. It depends on the alignment of the side.
26:38Mike Wright:Yeah. Are you laying down? Miles Garrett, knee surgery, IR. Okay.
26:47Jason Moore:So much for the duo to start the year. Super team.
26:50Mike Wright:Kyla Murray left almost instantaneously. First, he made a fadeaway, terrible interception throw.
26:57Jason Moore:Yeah. Which, the worst part about that, by far, was that immediately what you do in that moment is you go and you make fun of it. Right? Yeah. And then, two seconds later, it's like, oh, shoot. Very severe injury. Very severe injury. Looked awful.
27:12Mike Wright:He was talking to Carson Wentz and smiling and laughing in the locker room after the game.
27:16Jason Moore:Yes, which is great. Didn't have to go to the hospital. And also, Carson Wentz came in and looked awesome, and Justin Jefferson got rescued.
27:23Mike Wright:I know for a fact that this guy over here, this Al Borland character, while we're wearing the gear we're wearing, I noticed a stark lack of gold and green. That's primarily diet-related. Oh, okay. I've outgrown a lot of that, but that was a rough game. Emotionally or? Just to be clear, we didn't even make that joke. He's just like volunteering. He outgrew his Packers gear.
27:50Andy Holloway:You could have just said like, yeah, we lost, and I'm upset about it. That's also true. Wait.
27:54Jason Moore:How upset were you? To be clear, I know for a fact over the last couple months, you've lost weight. So are these jerseys too big? I mean, we're talking – my jerseys are Eddie Lacy, Jordy Nelson. Oh, so they were a long time ago. Lacy would have worked. It wasn't Eddie Lacy's jersey.
28:12Mike Wright:Oh, okay. Okay, it wasn't game worn.
28:15Andy Holloway:But loved – What a brutal game for the Packers. In the morning with, why are the Vikings favored in this game? Yeah.
28:23Mike Wright:He did start the day with that. Because they're a good team, man. I know for a fact he stands by that. Also. I know for a fact.
28:30Jason Moore:The Chargers get a lot of crap for being the Chargers. But I feel like the Packers are doing this thing now where they are giving away games that they.
28:40Mike Wright:Possible. You know, that's the first time in history a team was up by 12 points with 20 minutes left and lost by 17? I did not. I mean, that's very specific. Eight minutes left or something like that. Well, it was just the dynamic. Like, it was 22-17 with what seemed like four minutes left in the game, and then all of a sudden you blink, and it's 39-22.
28:59Jason Moore:That's what I'm saying. I saw a tweet talking about, you know how there's always the win probabilities and you're at 96 % win probability with this much time left. In the last, like, two years, there's been, like, four or five games where the Packers are basically above 95%. The game is over, and then they lose, and lose not just like – Impressive. They just collapse.
29:21Mike Wright:I mean, shout-out to that team rallying around a backup quarterback. Brian Flores' defense turning on the juice, man. The Vikings are legit.
29:29Andy Holloway:They just need a quarterback. And shout-out to the refs, according to Al.
29:33Mike Wright:Yeah. The refs were not good in that game, but the point differential at the end was –
29:39Jason Moore:Not due to the refs.
29:40Mike Wright:It was significant. Chargers wide receiver Ladd McConkie left with a chest injury. he got blowed up in a bad way i mean i was kind of making you know i was like man it looks like he got his organs scrambled and then after the game they're like they're actually worried about organ damage which i was like really hard so no update on that although i did see uh jason shared with me uh one one fantasy medical expert see if you can find his so we can shout him out real quick but he broke down the fact that majority of the time if it's a rib injury they can play through it with a flak jacket like that's the majority outcome um i don't remember where i sent it to you um yeah so i i'll see if i can find that but where the hope is that lad will be able to
30:27Jason Moore:you know be back out there soon there there might be a scarier injury and and we'll have to wait and see practice reports but zay flowers um re-aggravated the hamstring that he was already fantasy docs on instagram sorry yeah that um there was uh zay flowers was dealing with uh you know his little hamstring injury re-aggravated it despite the fact that you just look at the game you go oh my gosh zay flowers dominated that game yeah he was 150 and won in the first half of football i think he only ran like 11 teen rounds 11 rounds 11 ran 11 rounds it's the most fantasy points scored on 11 rounds in history that's so i the yards per route run numbers you know It's like if you're up at like four, that's amazing.
31:13Jason Moore:He was at 13.6 yards per round.
31:16Mike Wright:You just don't want to keep re-aggravating this thing, and this is at least a second aggravation. There are some comments that maybe it was precautionary.
31:23Andy Holloway:Yeah, the latest from Rappaport was Zay Flowers. It is not considered serious. He'll have an MRI, but if it was a playoff game, he likely would have returned. So day-to-day right now.
31:36Mike Wright:The problem is there ain't no playoff games for a while, So, does that mean next week, do they give him a week off? We'll see. I mean, Jacoby Lane also hurt.
31:42Andy Holloway:But one week versus a dude going on IR because his hamstring is torn in two.
31:49Mike Wright:They will certainly MRI it and see what's going on. Jacoby Lane, who had a touchdown called back, got a lot of snaps, left early with a wrist injury. It ended up being a fractured wrist.
31:59Jason Moore:This is their rookie, their promising-looking rookie from camp who's gotten a lot of buzz. It was great to see him on the field, used around the red zone. everything was like okay this one worked the touchdown was called back it didn't work and
32:11Mike Wright:then he broke his wrist so Dejan Stribling and Lane were like my favorite two rookie wideouts
32:17Jason Moore:from camp and they're both hurt yeah so Rashad Bateman yeah we'll have a waiver show tomorrow so weird because I don't think he had a catch it's funny I know and he had by far the most routes on that team that describes him yes it does but it's funny because I wanted to move on from Mark Andrews because it's like Mark Andrews did nothing whatever you move on but then it's like if zay flowers and jacoby lane are gone it's like do i have to roll andrews again next week you could go smith yeah he is there there were plenty of smith touchdowns in the absence of all
32:47Mike Wright:the uh star tight end touchdowns yeah omar cooper jr another rookie wide receiver high ankle sprain he had a nice play in this game and then got hurt chica con quo hamstring injury did not return we'll see uh dylan sampson also left early i saw him going into the locker room knee injury was on crutches following the game. This was the...
33:09Jason Moore:Did the Judkins have a good game?
33:11Mike Wright:Well, no.
33:11Jason Moore:Kidding. Man, the Browns and...
33:14Mike Wright:The Browns, look, it's as simple as Deshaun Watson's not a professional quarterback. Dude, that guy's so bad. If Deshaun Watson didn't have that paycheck, he would be nowhere near an NFL team. Every single play, from decision-making to physical gifts, abilities, and talents, yeah, he threw a bomb touchdown at the end of the game. I don't care. He'll probably start another week, but disgusting. Yeah. And he's going – did you see Harold Fannin have a nice game? Nope. What about Judkins? Nope. Nope. Whatever. No. Concepcion. I mean, the only one that did was Boston because he caught the long bomb touchdown.
33:50Mike Wright:But if you want to bank on that, good luck to you. Man. Football's fun, though. It is. We had the initial nine televisions up on the lobby and complete stimulus overload as the game started. And it was wonderful. It was fabulous. Let's talk.
34:09Jason Moore:I will say, just because you bring that up, and while Deshaun Watson's playing, it's irrelevant, but Snap Share, Denzel Boston was up at 92%, 47 snaps, to Concepcion, 35 snaps, Jerry Judy, 32 snaps. So it was like, that was just interesting behind the scenes. Now, you could say, oh, wait until Watson.
34:29Andy Holloway:I believe Concepcion was the target leader. Who was? Even Concepcion.
34:33Mike Wright:Yeah, he worked from the slot on 63 % of his routes. So something significant there.
34:41Andy Holloway:Let's get this team a quarterback, please.
34:43Mike Wright:Yeah, so there's lots of studs and does to talk about. By the way, one oddity that I noticed was you had talked about Parker Washington in the beginning when he's definitely the one. And then we – I don't know why we didn't mention it, but Brian Thomas Jr. is another update. He went out with a shoulder injury. but in spite of his absence, Jacoby Myers, his playing time, 65 % of offensive snaps. So we saw some work with – well, we had a touchdown by somebody who we didn't even know, and then we had Travis Hunter getting in on the offensive side of the football. He played four snaps. He'll probably play more if Thomas is hurt.
35:23Mike Wright:You guys want to talk some positives? You want to talk some studs?
35:25Jason Moore:Yes, some good stuff.
35:26Mike Wright:There was a lot of that.
35:29Jason Moore:This week's Fantasy Stud Muffins.
35:34Mike Wright:We're already going to have an interesting waiver show tomorrow. That'll be fun. It is.
35:39Andy Holloway:Because there's not like, oh, that's the guy. After week one, I feel like there's always a top player. What percentage of leagues was Isaiah likely drafted in? The majority, I would say. Probably near 100.
35:52Mike Wright:See, that's what I thought. But the feedback I'm getting, I'm thinking he wasn't drafted in a lot of leagues. 88%. That's a lot. Yeah, that's a lot. Let's talk some studs. Speaking of a lot. So far, so good on one-third of my my guys.
36:07Jason Moore:Well, you got rid of your other two to put all the power into one.
36:10Mike Wright:Number one score on the week at quarterback, Caleb freaking Williams. 37.3.
36:18Andy Holloway:Yeah.
36:20Mike Wright:There's some other guys I'd like him to throw the ball to. Well, the fact that he could do this without him. Yeah. That offense is, I mean, I know he wants to break records. Do you think part of his strategy is a bad defense? Because you're not going to be able to break records without a bad defense, Chase.
36:34Jason Moore:No, you probably won't, but they now have the ability to. I mean, you also had him doing what we need for fantasy football, which is running the ball at the quarterback position. Ten carries, you know, most of them probably scrambles. 65 rushing yards, two rushing touchdowns. That's how he's the number one scorer of the week. It's just delightful. I don't think it's going away. I will say that – It's not going to be that good every week. No, the next two weeks will be a real test. Minnesota and Philadelphia, they're both at home for Caleb, but those are really good defenses. It'll be great to witness and see what happens.
37:14Mike Wright:Josh Allen against the Houston Texans. I know he's Josh Allen, but – Remember I said I wasn't willing to bench him? Yeah, smart. Can you imagine if I had benched him for golf?
37:26Andy Holloway:it would not feel great. I'm saying if I get it, I understood Josh Allen in Houston it had not been good. And we expect the Houston defense to still be a strong play, but Josh Allen was playing incredibly.
37:41Jason Moore:Well, he had his best weapon finally out on the field for 75 plus percent of snaps. Well, that's a
37:45Mike Wright:Dalton Kincaid comment. That sure is, baby. He did look good. Bryce Young was the third highest scorer of the week.
37:52Jason Moore:Bryce, this is what we're
37:53Mike Wright:talking about with the Bears defense I mean 361 yards but it wasn't just because like you have do you realize the numbers for Jalen Coker versus Tett McMillan when they both been on the game uh yeah it's like 37 catches to 21 catches on the Coker side yes Jalen Coker and he was
38:12Jason Moore:um cooking Tettaro and McMillan uh he was the number one fine he was five for 75 okay you're disappointed especially in a game where you'd have scored if you told me Bryce Young who usually throws for about 200 yards or you hope he hits 200 yeah throws for 361 and three touchdowns you just assume Tedaroa dominated but yeah Coker is probably one of the biggest pickups 9.8 yards per
38:36Mike Wright:attempt is the highest of his career when attempting more than 20 passes the downfield was working for
38:41Andy Holloway:Bryce let's do it against more teams than just Chicago yep that's one we have to not quite grant
38:47Mike Wright:the super stardom too. Yeah, not yet. Jackson Dart, my start of the week, 23 for 29 in full command last night. Also rushed for 54 yards.
38:56Jason Moore:And felt like, I know he got... Really in control the whole time. Yes, he got blowed up on one of those plays. But it was out of bounds. No, no, no. I'm talking about just when he was in the pocket and didn't look to the right. It was just like the Tyrone Tracy play, except there was no one there. Two blocks, so it was entirely on Jackson Dart.
39:12Mike Wright:It was probably still Tracy's fault.
39:13Jason Moore:But I will say, he did his own thing, man. You're talking
39:17Mike Wright:Talk about tripping over yourself. Yeah.
39:19Jason Moore:But Jackson Dart looked really good as a quarterback. Still, you know, one of the questions was, will he scramble? 11 rushing attempts, 54 yards. But also, how will he scramble? And it looked so much more in control, so much less like I'm trying to sacrifice my career on every run. And there were designed runs, which I was thrilled to see that this team was like, hey, we've got a quarterback who has great mobility. Let's utilize him in the game plan, not just tell him that's dangerous. Don't do it. You know, Jackson Dart was, you know, he's close to a my guy for me for a while in the offseason.
39:56Jason Moore:He's very scary, but I think that the upside is here. Do it against a team that's not Dallas. Exactly. Same thing as the – He's got the Rams coming up much, much tougher, but I'm excited. I think Dart's going to become a weekly must start.
40:10Mike Wright:Trevor Lawrence should be, although, man, they didn't even need him for half the game. 18 for 23, 245 and 4. Since week 9 of last year, Trevor Lawrence is the QB what?
40:23Jason Moore:Oh, well, he's got to be one. Yeah, it's top three. Number one.
40:28Mike Wright:He's a top 12 quarterback in 11 of his last 13 starts. Denver next week. Keep an eye on that.
40:33Jason Moore:He completed. Are you telling me he completed 18 passes? Yeah. Because seven receptions was what Travis H.A. and Jr. had. So 7 of 18. Are you crossing streams of teams here?
40:49Mike Wright:Yeah, you are.
40:49Jason Moore:Oh, my gosh. Yeah, okay. That makes far more sense. Hey, hey, hey, grandpa.
40:53Andy Holloway:Put the keys down.
40:55Jason Moore:My brain went back to college and NFL. This is the first game we haven't had them together. Okay, wow. Oh, yeah. They're not there. They're not there. That makes a lot more sense. He's so good.
41:06Mike Wright:He's catching passes from a different city. Lamar Jackson looked in control as well. 324 just one passing touchdown had one on the ground 40 yards rushing he only hit 40 yards rushing three times last year with the injury uh so far so good for lamar against the colts jalen hurts that was weird this is a this is a good bad game it was a bad good yes he would
41:31Jason Moore:he did not look good he didn't play well his rushing was meh and then at the end of the game
41:38Mike Wright:48 % of drawbacks they were pressured that's absurd that's crazy you know who the least on the entire week was Joe Burrow I have to guess Jacoby no it was CJ Stroud 21 % crazy
41:53Jason Moore:Jalen Hurts you can't really complain with 3 passing touchdowns and 46 rushing yards and the end result of fantasy points but if you watch the game it was not easy sledding they didn't look great The Dallas Goddard big late kind of breakaway touchdown really, really helped him.
42:11Mike Wright:I forgot about – yeah, and Goddard had two of them, man. Goddard is – he was the start of the week, and we'll talk about him in a bit, but there are a few guys that I'm very curious your long-term view on. Tyler Shuck, I mean, this is like –
42:23Andy Holloway:That was absurd.
42:25Mike Wright:Tyler Shuck was in negative points at like basically halftime. He ended up passing the ball 56 times. True, man. 4-10-3, almost won the ball game. We always – 86 plays.
42:41Andy Holloway:We always tell people, wait until the game is over because –
42:46Mike Wright:Oh, yeah, because the tweets are coming in.
42:47Andy Holloway:We get good tweets. We get some people who are upset from this game. Juwan Johnson, a.k.a. Juwan, was one of our most recommended plays of the week. And it felt bad. And it felt really bad. And, like, Tyler Shuck was playing so bad. It was actually a really terrible play. We're in the third quarter, and I'm like, I feel like I have to tweet. I feel like I have to go apologize. Be like, I'm so sorry that I was so – I thought Tyler Shuck was going to be something.
43:21Jason Moore:I thought the Saints – and then, hey, I didn't send it. Vele, Olave, Juwan Johnson, Shuck. I mean, it was great. Turns out you just need four quarters. Five. fair
43:34Mike Wright:Brock Purdy 25 for 34 205 and 3 efficient night for Brock on Thursday night we knew he was great and the Rams defense Aaron Donald when will he come back no Myles Garrett I mean look if you take you traded Jared Versaway for Myles Garrett and Myles Garrett's going to be out for a while so your pass rush if anything it should mean some better stuff for maybe Williams and Corum and Puka and Adams
44:00Andy Holloway:I think the Rams will be okay
44:02Mike Wright:Running back scorers on the week, the top five. Why not? Derrick Henry, 34.8. He looked like the Yeti. He was in complete control, man.
44:12Andy Holloway:But it's not time.
44:14Mike Wright:Just imagine when it's winter. He is now third in most rushing touchdowns in NFL history. Swift, Gibbs, Gentie, Monty. Of course, Gibbs and Monty together. And Bijan Robinson. The funny thing about Monty was, I mean, they're obviously going to lean on him. He's going to be a huge part of this offense. This is a very reminiscent performance to the Mixon-esque. Yes. Like, he arrives to no fanfare, and then all of a sudden is everything. Great defense. Running game is going to help win it and take pressure off of Stroud. I just talked about the pressure rate was the lowest in the league. So, you can say what you want about the offensive line or the Bills defense, but something worked because he scored three touchdowns.
44:56Mike Wright:But did you see the snaps?
44:57Jason Moore:Yeah, I mean, like it was almost 50-50 with Woody Marks. I believe Woody Marks had more snaps than David Montgomery, which you wouldn't know because all the work went to Montgomery, which is all that matters. I mean, it basically was saying when Monty was in the game, you know, they were using him. They were putting the ball in his hands in both the passing and the rushing game. It was gorgeous to see.
45:16Mike Wright:Jinty looked great, 23 for 102. Now the Dolphins' defense, again, you know, it's probably not going to be this good every week for the Raiders, but you love to see it. And by the way, Jameer Gibbs, 29 carries. You're going to kill this man. No. No. You can't give. No. You can't. You can do it.
45:33Andy Holloway:No. You can do it one year. Dan Campbell said he's going to give more.
45:36Jason Moore:One glorious year. 34 touches. Not enough. Oh, man, Andy. I don't know that you know what you're asking for. I know you've got gives, but whew.
45:47Mike Wright:You know, we'll see. I'm not a man like you that would be willing to guarantee that a player becomes healthy the entire year. But you want to. But he's been a healthy player. So we'll see. Bijan got it done despite – I think Cooper Rush might have looked worse than everybody this entire week. Yeah, I was surprised. It was like if you took a game manager and cut that in half. That's what he was like. He just found Bijan. I mean, if Cooper Rush was starting the rest of the year, I would be three shovelfuls on the way into the grave for London and for Pitts because this offense with Cooper Rush cannot produce fantasy value for London or Pitts, and Bijon will pass away.
46:33Mike Wright:Ten targets? I think his target share was like 56%.
46:37Andy Holloway:Yeah, well, it had to be.
46:40Mike Wright:I mean, Michael Pinnock Jr., I never thought I'd say this. You've done an amazing job. By not playing, you have looked so good.
46:47Andy Holloway:We've never accused him of being a dumb man. No. We've just said maybe he's not that great of a quarterback. Please come back. He is playing his hand very well right now.
46:55Jason Moore:The Falcons attempted 22 passes. Three were batted at the line. One was a throwaway. There were 12 completions in the game. Eight went to Bijon, the running back. That is not a real NFL offense.
47:10Mike Wright:He missed Pitts on a seam route. London was not involved. I'll say this, man. I loved Pitts because I loved Tua and what he would do.
47:18Andy Holloway:Let me say this. Fantasy face-off that we do every Friday.
47:23Mike Wright:Oh.
47:24Andy Holloway:My Green Goblin, which is the easy, like, it's generally. That's the game. It's a freebie. Yeah. Mine was like, what, Baker 150 yards or something? Mine was two and a half receptions for Kyle Pitts. I said, oh, certainly he will get more. And then I had already locked in, and then it was like, oh, well, Cooper Rush is going to be the quarterback. I'm like, no, you know what? Certainly Cooper Rush could get the ball to Kyle Pitts three times. Yeah, but who's going to spin the wheel?
47:51Jason Moore:Not me, maybe. It feels really bad because we all did great. Yeah, it does feel bad. To be a loser. We all crushed. I mean, because we all cashed all three of our lineups. Four for four, three for four, three for four.
48:03Mike Wright:And then you guys did a tiebreaker last night, which Jason narrowly lost. Yeesh. So I'm pretty happy with that. We saw people's feedback. It was almost perfect. And I think the only one you missed was Jordan Love's rush attempts. Yeah. The only one you missed was Kyle Pitts' Cooper rush problem.
48:18Jason Moore:Jordan Love was supposed to have a couple of kneel downs at the end of the game, but then they were like, oh, I forgot.
48:25Mike Wright:I know you were counting on that. Yeah. Jonathan Taylor was great. Chuba Hubbard was great. Javante scored twice. Brees Hall, your start of the week, great, Jason. Bucky Irving, Mike's start of the week, and your number one draft pick, Jason. Oh, dude, my heart. He's got my heart. Only eight carries. That's the only thing I'm going to point out there. It was eight carries.
48:42Jason Moore:They were down so much. I mean, you had Kenny Gainwell with five carries. They just didn't run the – they had to just drop back a pass so quick.
48:50Mike Wright:What was wild is, do you know who the lowest yards per attempt in the entire league was in week one? Was it Baker? Baker Mayfield.
48:57Andy Holloway:Wow. I feel like Burroughs wasn't great. It did not look great. But this is why I'm saying I'll hold off on Bucky. Look, week one looks great. If I had Bucky, I'm not trading him. I'm feeling good about my pick. But it's like Kenny Gainwell was in for 46 % of the snaps. Work on the ground was very close, 8-5. The targets happened to go to Bucky. And it's like with the snaps being almost shared, those targets almost certainly could have gone to Gainwell as well when he was on the field. So that's why I'm just a hold.
49:29Jason Moore:I will say what was very good to see was that Bucky looked like he actually looked like the Bucky of two years ago.
49:39Mike Wright:We'll take a break. We'll talk wideouts.
49:45Andy Holloway:Look, no one wants to be just another guy. not in fantasy, and definitely not in your career. The good news? There's ways to stand out from the competition. Southern New Hampshire University has over 200 degree programs you can do online. You'll learn from instructors with actual experience in the field, not just drawing on whiteboards. 50:18Mike Wright:all right foot clan whether you are on the go or at home t-mobile well they're built to keep you connected wherever you're scouting your fantasy team and that on the go part that is important with america's best network you'll be connected to the latest news and player projections so when you're on the clock you can draft a winning team i can think of so many situations where that element of being connected while you're on the go is fundamental to fantasy football success I'm in the midst of multiple leagues right now where I am responding to trade offers. We are massaging the trade offer. We want to make sure that I'm the one that gets the player, not another player manager in our league.
50:55Mike Wright:So trade offers when you're on the go, all the news that's breaking so you don't make a mistake. And my favorite thing, maybe I'll mention it. Look, you're sitting and you have a quiet moment somewhere out and about. You want to jump in the UDK. We got the player profiles. You can watch all of those in there with T-Mobile. You can jump in on the player projections and our stat projections and all the 130 ,000 words of content. Again, T-Mobile making that easy to do. Every bit of news. Things are changing all the time. New player contracts, all that good stuff. So from offseason to game day, every play is better with T-Mobile.
51:28Mike Wright:What you got to do is visit T-Mobile.com slash network. 51:50Mike Wright:The number one fantasy scorer at the wide receiver position in week one was Jalen Coker at 29.8 fantasy points. So you talk about waiver wire pickups. That's going to be the biggest. Yes. Probably the biggest one. Number two, though, Christian Watson. Oh. What?
52:10Andy Holloway:Are we doing a week one victory lap right now? Yeah, you got to.
52:13Mike Wright:He's healthy. Listen, it's like the Cardinals. You don't know how long you got him.
52:20Jason Moore:He's so good. It felt like it all came in the first half.
52:24Andy Holloway:It really did.
52:24Jason Moore:That's how Minnesota won. They're like, hey, we should take Christian Watson out of the game.
52:29Andy Holloway:Christian Watson was awesome. And, look, Matthew Golden. I think that's almost – even though Watson crushed for fantasy for week one. Golden was good, man. I think he's going to be – Watson is – like we're looking good. Matthew Golden led the team in routes and target share, 31%. I mean, that is the consolidation really – it looks like it should work for Matthew Golden.
52:54Mike Wright:From what I'm seeing, I believe he was like 41 % in the slot last year in his opportunities, and it was 5 % in this game. So the change of role in the dedicated targets. Yeah, we'll see. Zay Flowers, Amon Ross, St. Brown, Justin Jefferson, the other top three.
53:13Jason Moore:Oh, Justin Jefferson. We are so back. If Carson Wentz. But it would probably be Kyler. It probably will be Kyler. But, like, maybe not next week. I doubt next week. But then what if Carson goes out? I mean, Chicago next week. Genuinely, if Carson Wentz goes out next week and throws for 350, they win the game.
53:33Mike Wright:I mean, because I had seen comments. Here's what I had seen is that the order of operations on the backup quarterback is not necessarily indicative of who they would start in an injury. Now with Wentz winning the game. That's the thing.
53:46Jason Moore:That's what's going to create Wentz starting this next week. I mean, he went out there and played well enough to, you know, he threw three touchdowns.
53:56Mike Wright:But Amon Ra eventually got it done. Two touchdowns, 10 for 67, 14 targets. And you know what? J-Mo, they gave J-Mo chances to get in this game, and he dropped the ball yes he did more than once i was kind of that was that was a bummer uh chris olave was a machine again 86 plays you're probably not going to get that every week but yeah he looked every bit the chris olave they got the paycheck that got the big year last year yeah we even had an injury scare yeah guys ladies normal that was a scare but um and and
54:28Jason Moore:devon veille as well yeah spot starter that you're not always going to have as many snaps as we're in that play but we've talked a lot this offseason about kellen more offenses they do have more snaps than most i mean it was a combination of also playing against detroit having an overtime yada yada but the reason we wanted this offense was just because of pace of play and you get more
54:49Mike Wright:snaps more opportunities for fantasy points uh what other big names are worth talking dj more five for 100 nico seven for 75 had a couple other chances to score parker washington all in the first half, 5 for 83 and a touchdown, and man, was it an impressive touchdown.
55:04Andy Holloway:Yeah. I think that's a pretty good deal. Ladd McConkie still finished with a solid stat line, despite the chest injury.
55:11Mike Wright:Top five tight ends on the week. Man, he was such a finalist for my guy, and through one week, I regret not choosing him over one of my injured dudes. Isaiah Likely, 23.8 fantasy points. Dallas Goddard, start of the week, 21.7 fantasy points. Trey McBride, sticky-ga-sicky. The amount of times... Jamar Chase last year had no points in week one. This year, no points in week one. It's a thing. It's a thing for this offense to get going, but man, every time I looked up, Burrow was thrown to a tight end. He was.
55:47Andy Holloway:And Tia Higgins was better than Jamar Chase, but it still wasn't a fantastic game. They really, I don't know, they were clamping down on the wide receivers, just maybe fully selling out. So, I mean, worked out for the Bengals in the long run. Dalton Kincaid, I think, is one of the most interesting storylines.
56:06Mike Wright:He scored 15.5, and he did not score a touchdown.
56:09Jason Moore:Yeah, exactly. This is a player who has been great on a per-route, per-touch, per-pass basis. He's been really, really good. Last year, with his knee injury, he played 38 % of the snaps. That is obviously an irrelevant player you can't throw out there. And we were just saying all offseason.
56:28Andy Holloway:And yet you could have taken shots on him last year.
56:30Jason Moore:Yeah, I mean, he had plenty of good games despite 38 % of snaps. We're just saying if he's actually healthy and he ends up being a 70-plus percent snap player, then he could be a top-five tight end. He played 72 % of the snaps and was very, very, very good.
56:47Mike Wright:Through one week, the Muth got Luth. Five targets, five for 46. That's always fun. He was like the deep sleeper of the offseason that I brought up one time and then got embarrassed about. Juwan Johnson, three for 54 and one. Never a doubt. Oh, man. Never a doubt, everybody. He ran 52 routes.
57:04Jason Moore:I feel like in the fourth quarter. Was he goosed going into the fourth? I think so. It was something like that.
57:09Andy Holloway:His first catch was the touchdown. So, it felt like, okay, totally. We're good. Bailed out. We're good.
57:15Jason Moore:A 20-yard touchdown is fine. He kept getting targets.
57:18Mike Wright:And then TJ Hawkinson scored. So, there you go. Let's go ahead and we won't spend as much time here because it's week one. We don't overreact, but we'll spend some time. Here we go.
57:30Jason Moore:Hooped in his big boy pants.
57:35Mike Wright:Yes, yes, yes. We did have some big boys that let you down. Starting with Drake May, we saw that in Seattle. Justin Herbert. Oh, man. 2-0, 9-1, and maybe without Ladd for another game. I mean, I did not see. It was just broken on every level. Everything looked bad. Even Hampton. Yes. They barely gave Hampton any work, and then Hampton fumbled, and he got into the end zone, but somehow nothing looked good.
58:04Jason Moore:No, their running game, their offensive line.
58:07Mike Wright:Sorry, I realize we have a new back wall graphic for the Duds, and you should definitely dress like that, Jason. I'm thinking about it.
58:14Andy Holloway:You missed us in the studs. Me and Jay were yoked. We looked great. The studs, those are real pictures. Yeah, these ones. Yeah, that's real.
58:23Mike Wright:You guys are looking good. Yeah. Even with a cupcake shirt. That's also the biggest muffin. Why is the cupcake shirt on?
58:29Jason Moore:That's a stud muffin.
58:31Mike Wright:Okay.
58:31Andy Holloway:Yeah. All right. Is that on the shirt or is that in the air? It's on your shirt. Okay. Okay. Well, maybe we touch that up.
58:41Mike Wright:But we're talking duds. I thought it was a floating muffin. Where do we go from the Herbert against the Raiders part performance?
58:48Jason Moore:I genuinely think what you do is you throw out week one and pray. He gets the Raiders. Yeah, well, I mean, he got the Cardinals. You just hope that they go back and fix some stuff. All teams across the league will have down games. Sometimes they happen in week one. Like we talked about, the Patriots last year lost to the Raiders at home and then went to the Super Bowl. You just have to hope because nothing looked good. nothing on either side of the ball looked good for the chargers i i i can't believe i'm saying
59:20Mike Wright:this but the bangles won because their defense was good um 25 or 35 254 and one for burrow it was a letdown in this matchup it was at home but week one what they do week one is bad but i will say
59:33Jason Moore:they normally lose them the yeah they do normally lose them because they usually have a terrible defense their defense looked good caused a lot of turnovers and um you know both the cowboys and the Bengals last year's great offenses with terrible defenses. They both invested heavily in the defense. Cowboys look like they failed. Bengals look like they might have succeeded. A little early to tell, but worth watching. Baker, Stafford, down games.
59:58Mike Wright:And then this one I do want to talk about. I thought it looked horrible. I thought the Dallas offense looked bad. 175 and 2 for Dak, threw a pick.
1:00:06Jason Moore:Man, if George Pickens just didn't drop three passes, would we feel like it was bad? Because they were all three like bombs.
1:00:12Andy Holloway:I'd like to see one of those two receivers not have a drop day. Dak had the most passes over 20 yards, and none of them were completions. He'll be fine.
1:00:24Mike Wright:By the way, is that true, Matt? Yeah, I think so. Oh, my gosh. He still can't talk into the microphone. Two drives in the second half for Dallas?
1:00:34Andy Holloway:Yeah, I think so. I think that was true. That's insane. Yeah, because they couldn't get the Giants off the field on third down. That's insane. It was a tweet from good friend of the show, JJ. It says, nearly 18 % of Dak's past attempts on Sunday went for 20 more air yards, the sixth highest rate in football. He didn't complete any of them. Yeah. He missed Lamb on that bomb. With Lamb and George Pickens, that won't carry over. So I'm not concerned about this.
1:00:59Mike Wright:Mike, morbid satisfaction in Quenchon Judkins performing like this, 12 for 33. Two targets.
1:01:06Jason Moore:A bet against Deshaun Watson is a cashable bet.
1:01:09Andy Holloway:Yeah. it's unfortunate. It's unfortunate because I like Judkins. I think that Judkins can be a good running back. But when you have a bad quarterback and your offensive line is not elite, it doesn't really matter how good you are.
1:01:24Mike Wright:Here is one player that I have some real thoughts on. Marshawn Lloyd against Minnesota. I know how good Minnesota's defensive front is. They played a big part in this. however Chris Brooks and Marshawn Lloyd through one week as the lead backs of the Packers left so much to be desired in my opinion yeah there were two thoughts I had one we may see some Caleb Johnson soon and two Jacobs will be everything and oh we did have a maybe even more
1:01:53Andy Holloway:when he comes back we have at least one Jacobs update that it is he pled no contest to I did mentioned on the show oh did we yeah last friday we had all that covered the only thing we didn't
1:02:03Mike Wright:talk about was the fact that they had actually sealed the record in court which sometimes means that the nfl can't get as much access to the the case information and that can cause the suspension to be they may factor in in fact there's a lot of precedent for them factoring in games missed on commissioner's list but uh we don't have um that the league is trying to get the video yeah but we have a decision yet from the league but i i was not impressed with lloyd or brooks and i know that there were a handful of okay runs but 13 for 37 for lloyd i thought he was really really hesitant from the handoff like he'd get the ball and he'd make a move that wasn't a response to the defense coming at him but was just a little bit of a let's juke for juke's sake i didn't like that i think it's fair criticism but we'll see to me it was like okay nothing i saw means jacobs will have or reduce workload we'll see what happens and um the vikings are a good defense i i just thought we were on the way to basically the packers establishing a great passing game and then that being the precedent for like love's going to be the leader of the offense it won't be the running game like we'll start to transition into a heavier i'm just kind of disappointed the way it
1:03:16Jason Moore:went yeah and honestly marshawn lloyd got enough work to show something to have one good explosive play and he looked bad every single time he touched the ball again against a good defense so we'll see next week they they go on the road against the jets opportunity to rebound to show
1:03:32Mike Wright:something special you want to talk about uh there's a commonality here um these are these are teams that mostly lost uh tony pollard seven carries for 35 yards i believe the split was nearly even 26 snaps and 25 snaps okay there you go with tajay spears but don't worry neither will be good.
1:03:53Andy Holloway:For the foreseeable future, the Titans don't have big boy pants. If they're studs, we'll celebrate them. Yeah, they can't.
1:04:02Mike Wright:Duds are pooped in your big boy pants, not little boy pants.
1:04:05Jason Moore:Not unless Mitchell Trubisky is starting.
1:04:07Mike Wright:Oh, who would have thought you'd do that?
1:04:09Jason Moore:He's got the big boy pants.
1:04:11Mike Wright:I mean, if you're at the cope phase of like, only Trubisky can save by my guy, you're in real deep doo-doo.
1:04:17Jason Moore:Yeah. Yeah. I'm up. Like, my nose is just barely out of the water.
1:04:21Mike Wright:I'm drowning. I'm going to have some Cam Ward cards for sale soon. Jalen Warren and Rico Dowdle were, I mean, Warren was better by a lot.
1:04:31Jason Moore:So here's what's funny. Warren was better by a lot. Fantasy-wise. Fantasy-wise. He turned 10 carries into 46 rushing yards versus Rico turned 8 into only 15. They both had a good amount of targets, six targets to Jalen Warren, five targets to Rico Dowdle. Rico turned it into six yards. Rico was terrible. However, when you look at the splits, you know, you go, okay, so obviously Warren was the one, Rico was irrelevant. The actual snaps, 39 snaps went to Rico. Only 25 went to Jalen Warren. Passing snaps, 29 to Rico, only 13 to Warren. Warren was way better, and so maybe they flipped that, but the player on the field that they were trying to get going who couldn't do anything was Rico, so stay tuned.
1:05:16Mike Wright:Three big names that were disappointing, not quite duds in week one. James Cook against Houston. Not worried in the slightest. No, Saquon against Washington, not really worried there either. A little more worried there. Are you?
1:05:28Andy Holloway:He wasn't fantastic last year. I mean, 15 for 83, and he had to do a lot of blocking.
1:05:34Mike Wright:And then Devon Achan, 11 for 36 on the ground. Four for 30 through the air. I believe Achan played the most snaps percentage-wise of any running back in week one. so he wasn't sharing any time but there wasn't much time on offense for this team every time i looked up it was a dink and dunk drive for kirk cousins and then a three and out or a short drive for the dolphins and so through one week you know when you get all of a bad thing it's bad yeah yeah he ended up it was funny because i traded h and i traded for h and traded hampton away in a bigger trade and they were 9.5 and 9.7 fantasy points in week one both disappointed um i think it's
1:06:14Andy Holloway:going to take the Dolphins if they get it going it will take them some time to figure it out I
1:06:18Mike Wright:agree when you have two rookie wide receivers when you have a new offensive coordinator head coach and quarterback I mean how good can it get is the problem and so their upcoming schedule Mike brought it up earlier it's terrible San Francisco Kansas City Minnesota oh yeah golly uh wide receiver disappointments Jamar Chase and uh an off day two for twelve as a bummer to be expected sadly off day for george pickens three for 28 and some drops keys yeah drake london two for 29 not his fault but terrible devontae smith three for 53 this was part of what looked weird in this offense i mean wicks got a 75 yard catch and a touchdown devontae smith three for 53 you wanted more than that i did yeah i wanted more than that he was the start of the week i didn't think that
1:07:00Jason Moore:the commander's off defense was really good enough to stop and slow down the um the eagles they seemed like they were thankfully the next two weeks Tennessee and Chicago maybe the Eagles can get it going a little bit more but I was super disappointed in Devontae Smith Roma Duns a Luther
1:07:18Mike Wright:burden this for 52 five for 63 neither scored this is worth a discussion because there's been
1:07:25Jason Moore:I mean there's been so much offseason talk about the three receivers including Loveland in here and all three were disappointing in a game where the Bears scored 59 points it's crazy Roma Duns I kind of throw it out. He didn't play as many snaps, but he was coming back from a cap injury. He was a part-time player, so that's less concerning. Luther Burden, to me, is actually more concerning.
1:07:47Mike Wright:Five for 63 is not the end of the world for Luther Burden. When you have a fumble, it really kills your fantasy output. Fantasy-wise, yes. I'm not concerned is my way of saying that. Now, you might get two in a row. They go to Minnesota, or they play Minnesota next week. You may have two down weeks in a row. I don't know. I wasn't concerned, but I also, I mean, I feel like by being concerned about Burden, are we in on Kalief Raymond? I mean, I'm not. No, I'm not.
1:08:12Jason Moore:No, I don't think so. I'm guessing that Kalief Raymond, Jedi Walker, maybe they got some more run because Roma Dunze wasn't on the field as much. Rome played, I think, like 48 % snap share of passing snaps. Luther Burden was at 73. Luther didn't play as much as you would have. he didn't play as much as I would have wanted in two wide receiver sets. That was the thing that was a little bit concerning. He was more slot, which, you know, Ben Johnson coming over, we want slot. We wanted that Amin Ra role, so, you know, something to pay attention to. But I was a little disappointed with the utilization of Burden.
1:08:49Mike Wright:Cardinals won, but they didn't use Marvin Harrison. Won for 33 on three targets. It was – he had a drop on his first target. It was gross. And it might just – I mean, they just paid Michael Wilson. Trey McBride and Michael Wilson are the dogs. So that's a little scary. We'll see. It's just one week, but will they be more intentional getting him the ball at home next week? We'll find out. Terry McLaurin was awful. I mean, two for 14. Invisible. And the other part of that is I thought Antonio Williams looked amazing. I mean, he was four for 64 and a touchdown. But go watch the touchdown. Go watch the route.
1:09:26Mike Wright:I mean, he looked good.
1:09:29Andy Holloway:Yards per route run were outstanding. Stephon Diggs, nine targets.
1:09:33Mike Wright:There are two rookie wide receivers I'm pretty interested in, like in the waiver wire. Antonio Williams was drafted nowhere. But then Ted Hurst. I mean, Chris Godwin. Yeah! Chris Godwin.
1:09:44Andy Holloway:Oh, baby!
1:09:44Mike Wright:Was not good. Four for 40, four targets. And when I saw him with the ball, I mean, it was pure. Yeah. He's going to find a way to get open. But, I mean, Keenan Allen played this week, right? And he had a bunch of targets, and it was worth nothing. That was such a weird game. I'm a little worried that Godwin will be like Keenan.
1:10:03Andy Holloway:Four for 40 for Godwin, but Abuka is five for 63. Yeah. Like, weird.
1:10:08Jason Moore:That one feels...
1:10:10Mike Wright:Three turnovers by Baker? Yeah.
1:10:13Jason Moore:He had two fumbles, and then Bucky had a fumble. And then, was there another pick by Baker?
1:10:21Mike Wright:He had two picks.
1:10:23Jason Moore:Oh.
1:10:23Mike Wright:Yeah. Carnell Tate, six targets, four for 38. Wandale, six targets, five for 38.
1:10:29Andy Holloway:Baker had no picks. So it was just the fumbles. No picks? I'm seeing no picks and three fumbles.
1:10:36Mike Wright:Oh, three fumbles. Okay. Yeah, yeah. Three turnovers, all fumbles. I got you. Tight ends? This line feels bad. Why don't you talk about it? Colson Loveland, two targets and making matters worse which is always the case when something goes like this when another tight end has a big touchdown or a big catch like Cole Komet did. I mean, he ran the second most routes of any tight end and ended up goosing Colston Loveland. Where you at, dog?
1:11:06Andy Holloway:One of them should have been a touchdown.
1:11:12Andy Holloway:All I can take is that the Bears' offense was amazing. They're going to score a bunch of points. He ran the second most routes of any tight end in week one. It will happen. But the fact that we have a zero as our floor, that felt impossible.
1:11:26Jason Moore:Yeah, this is the behind-the-scenes metrics of the offense is great and he's running the most routes, says you can trade for him, you can be confident that good games are coming. But I will say that the one fear that I had coming in for the Bears was was that if the Bears were really good and Colson Loveland's good and Roma Dunzey's good and Luther Burden is good, that it will be they're taking turns and you won't necessarily have everybody dominating or anyone being super consistent, that would be my fear going forward. It's just like, we're going to have great Ludland games. You're just going to have some bad ones.
1:12:07Jason Moore:We're going to have great burden games. You're just going to have some bad ones along the way, and it's a scary proposition from a consistency standpoint.
1:12:14Mike Wright:Which is the biggest challenge with tight ends because here's another guy, Kyle Pitts, Cooper Rush.
1:12:21Jason Moore:Yeah, you've got to just throw it out until you've got the starting quarterback.
1:12:24Mike Wright:I feel okay with Pitts with Penix, but I mean, not as good as I did with Tua.
1:12:29Jason Moore:How many back spasms are we going to get there, by the way? I think it'll be one week. Is that contagious? I would be surprised if Rush plays this next week.
1:12:36Mike Wright:George Kittle, five targets, two for 12, coming back from injury. Harold Fannin, this one sucked. Harold Fannin, the second Shadur has made the starter, I would make him a trade-four target.
1:12:45Andy Holloway:Yes. But not before. Shadur will start.
1:12:50Mike Wright:I mean, they might go through four starters this year.
1:12:52Jason Moore:Yeah, but I think Andy's point is if Shedore doesn't start until week five, I don't think you want to trade for Fannin right now and have a month of Watson version of Fannin.
1:13:02Andy Holloway:Well, it was when we had looked at the – so they start with two road games, so Jacksonville and then Tampa Bay. And when I was looking at it after the announcement of, oh, Watson's going to be the starter, it's like, hmm, I don't know. Two road games? Just let Watson go out there and – Fall in his face. And either you're like, whoa. we're surprised Deshaun Watson remembered how to play quarterback, which he hasn't done well for, I don't know, four years or something. Or we go on the road, we take those losses, and then we get back home. And then I don't think financially they can't.
1:13:37Mike Wright:Can we do it, though? If you take him out after two weeks, that would be the best thing for the team.
1:13:42Andy Holloway:For sure. Well, that's what I was saying of week three when they come home. If Deshaun Watson is terrible in week two. When? Okay, it was a win. This is all just optics and theater and everything, but to go to your home opener after Watson destroyed your team for two weeks. Oh, and get him booed? Yeah. Oh, the boos will be so loud. Yeah, you either switch him out after the first quarter of that game
1:14:09Mike Wright:or you do it beforehand.
1:14:10Andy Holloway:As it turns out, Watson, the fans not liking you is also performance-based. It's personal, but it is also your performance. It's everything.
