0:33Hi, my name is Maya. I am 24 based out of San Antonio and this is the financial audit. The financial audit of you. Okay. So what do you do for a living? I go to school. Okay. That is actually what I do for a living. So I get a benefit called chapter 35 from the VA. My mom is a totally disabled veteran. So I get a stipend for all the months that I'm in school. But then the months that I'm not in school, I don't get paid, which is very nerve wracking coming up on June. Does it also fully cover? Is she using any of the benefits that she's getting to pay for school or is it just a stipend? Oh, so the stipend just goes like straight to me.
1:18But there's no there's no extra benefit. No, it doesn't. It doesn't. It's supposed to cover the value of tuition. But it's what I used to live. Well, what are you getting on a monthly basis? So only when you're in school. OK. Only when I'm in school. yeah because i take uh classes full-time so i am getting how many credit hours i'm doing 12 right now but next semester technically full-time by one yeah i'm uh i'm no it's full-time just like one credit hour right barely full-time i uh i'm thinking about taking 16 next semester it's just what are you bringing on a monthly basis uh 1488 i think and that's supposed to also pay for school yeah that's that's their expectation yeah okay yeah what is your tuition there what is the cost per credit hour per semester do you know i should i look it up don't yeah i don't know the credit hour cost um you're from san antonio so you're in state right uh yeah they do in state tuition all right let's see and then you're paying in-state tuition$8 ,945 gosh the out-of-state costs are absolutely insane yeah they actually tried charging me out of state at first um but so total estimated cost of attendance per year do you live on campus or off campus you have an apartment okay so total cost just for school not including that is about 21 ,000 hours a year is the estimated cost yeah that's not right though I don't know that seems a bit high compared to what they were saying it is it's just a rough estimate because what I pay at least like for pain because what you go to school what nine months of the year so$13 ,000 you have to be taking on student loans then absolutely absolutely okay that makes much yeah no I'm taking laughing your way into death yes it happens we all did it 24 for what year what semester are you in college um i'm doing my first sophomore semester okay did you take time off between college or did you five years i mean that's okay yeah i mean that's fine go back to college whenever you want to go back to college for some people doesn't make sense to go into college right away because you don't know what you're doing yeah so i'm sure community college is okay because you can take you can take uh some gen eds that will apply to most degrees anyway but uh what were you doing doing during those five years a lot a lot so it's not a lot Not an answer.
3:45Go ahead. Give a real answer. Okay. So I dropped out of high school when I was 17. Sure. Wow. Yeah. I started working around like 19 just because I, yeah. What did you do for two years? Partied. I'm all partied out though. I'm a tired old lady now. But when I was 19, I got a job at Taco Bell. And then when I was 20, 21, I think I got promoted to a manager there. When I was 20, I moved out. I moved in with my long term boyfriend at the time. It did not work out. Classic. Yeah. So I moved my friend in and it's a one bedroom apartment. So this is where you're still at? No, no. OK. So I had the bedroom.
4:38She had the living room. It was a horrible living situation. Um, so we parted ways after that, but it was kind of on like a bit of an emergency. So I took all my savings and I bought an RV to live out of. Let's take a moment to talk about something that affects all of us, our online security. A lot of people I've known has had personal information linked online since I even just started this YouTube channel. Let me tell you, it's scary. But thanks to today's sponsor, Aura, the internet can be a safe place for all of us. Aura offers services trusted by millions making digital security available to everyone.
5:15Think about it. Your address, phone numbers, financial data, all potentially up for grabs on the dark web. This opens the door to stalking issues, identity theft, and credit card fraud. And I know I'm not alone when it comes to spam calls and phishing. Not only are they just annoying, but they can be upsetting. Aura identifies data brokers selling your personal information and automates opt-out requests. It protects sensitive details such as addresses, phone numbers, and financial data from reaching the dark web, reducing risk of stalking and identity theft. I don't know if you saw this, but AT &T recently revealed that over 72 million customer records, both existing and former customers, were leaked to the dark web.
5:55They recommend those affected to use strong passwords, monitor account activity, and consider credit freezes or fraud alerts from credit bureaus. Well, or it does this all for me. I don't have to download several apps just because a company couldn't keep my data secure. If my info was compromised in the AT &T data breach, I wouldn't worry because Aura would already be protecting me. Don't sacrifice your privacy because it's a chore to keep up with it. Aura makes it easy. Visit aura.com slash hammer to start your two-week free trial or click the link in the description below. How much in savings did you have?
6:27Like, I want to say like$6 ,000, but I talked the RV down to$4 ,000. it's a 1993 Fleetwood Flair I named her Rhiannon where is it now uh sold I sold it okay yeah for how much um for 6 ,000 okay so do I have any of that money now okay where'd the money go then living expenses okay you're working 12 credit hours I worked 12 credit hours and had a part-time job why don't you have a part-time job if uh we're blowing through savings and we're taking on student loans i'm curious it's for me like i wanted my primary focus to be school uh sure and then we also say okay welcome to the reality of the world and that money needs to exist in order for us to do things so then again and again why don't you work at least like five hours a week it's it's a multitude of things i will say it is partially my fault where like i have a one-track mind so i'm like okay school and school only i'm doing school because if i work like a five hour shift then i'm like okay that is like all my day gone it's just absolutely dedicated saturday you're a young college student and you're just making it so that your future is better that's okay you're not taking classes on a saturday i know you're not you might do some homework but more than that's what all my homeworks do friday saturday sunday that's what all my homeworks do Yeah, and I know you can wake up and do like a coffee shop early from like 5 to like noon or something.
7:57The issue though is that I live in college town. So it's very hard to find jobs. Oh, that's weird. Huh. I wonder if any other college students ever found jobs in where they went to school, which might be classified as college towns. I think most places where colleges are are college towns. They might be. Also, this is San Antonio. Is it in the middle of nowhere or is it in San Antonio? Oh, San Antonio, classic college. Nothing else is there. It's not in the top 10 population in the United States or anything. It's only a college town. OK. Yeah. Sure. I will say for a while, I actually didn't have a car either.
8:35I was I was trying to save up money to get a car. I wanted to get a car. So never in my entire life will I ever have I ever financed a car. Cool. I will not. My dad has taught me. Well, we have always had. well on that what the fuck yeah apparently that did not translate to the rest of your life yeah okay cool well my dad also has credit card problems so this is the apple does not fall far from the tree okay i think the apple fell on the head and made us a little special when it came to just our spending habits a little bit and okay see what it immediately uh concerns me is uh we do have credit card debt we're gonna go through credit card debt uh we have some collections we We have some things to go through.
9:19And when we have checking accounts, we have no savings. There's just, you know, there's a lot to go through. And when I hear the I'm not able to at least dedicate a part of my time on Saturdays to working. Student loans. Sure. You're doing that. Yeah. But with your spending habits and what you're trying to do with your money and time. Yeah. You're essentially. You're just putting your life on credit cards, dude. You're just putting your life on credit cards. You're right. Yeah. It's balances on both of the cards went up. Yeah, they did. And they also like have gone up since like since you saw.
9:53I'm glad you're able to smile at that because it makes me want to vomit. Smiling is a stress response for me. Yes, it is. Make sure you're giving her some love because I'm the one who has the permission to. So give her some love. She's brave enough to come on here. And if you need to get yelled at to, you know, make your finances better, you can apply. Calebhammer.com slash apply. So check that out. now i gotta beat you up a little because yeah no it's okay you've done some up just a little bit of just uh don't get you don't give yourself too much credit it's uh no pretty bad what would you give yourself zero to ten zero being the worst finances ten being the best oh okay so you're a giddy little giddier aren't you i was i was thinking about this uh on the drive here because I was just jamming, listening to music, getting stuck in Austin traffic.
10:47Both Austin and San Antonio are under constant construction. So I have a lot of time to think. Yes, welcome to cities. Okay, the answer to the question. So I was thinking, I was like, okay, how actually bad is my financial situation? Well, I've obviously seen people who are in worse financial positions. This is why I yell at people, other people have worse finances, so mine can't be that bad. no that's why people get yelled at because they need to know how bad it is yeah those are intense fingernails thank you they are uh five dollar press-ons okay yeah your financial score um financial score i would give it i don't want to be too nice to myself i can't give myself too much grace what is it three okay thank you it's a number pull that out of you quick silver yes okay that was a mistake getting that card you said the balance went up so where is it at now i would have to check well check and i'm not gonna uh i need to know your finances if i'm gonna help you okay so this this number right here says uh 7 327 it is at 7 494 why i i should probably look why um hey you look let me look come here it's not good it's not good starting the screen recording so we can put it on screen we'll bleep out all your okay this is so this is your biggest balance card and it went up because in the previous month you started at 7264 so already 200 above that you made the minimum monthly payment sure but then 140 of purchases when the interest accruing on it is almost 200 yeah it's not great it's not great no i know and it's so why the then because you recognize it i kind of girl math myself oh don't that's not oh why am i hearing this okay first of all that's a meme from like two months ago so what are you i know i'm so behind um so i think to myself i'm like okay my minimum monthly payment which right there says 255 so i'm like okay i'm already making the minimum monthly payment by the way it's bad yeah it's horrible someone that literally doesn't bring in any money other than what's rewarded them through their mom's service yeah which i very much appreciate my mom for that but uh i think to myself i'm like okay so i already pay the minimum payment on the card so i'm like okay well if i'm paying 200 in i can pay 200 out and buy nonsense tell me why that's stupid because it's a credit card i in my mind no that's not a answer tell me why it's stupid because it's real money credit cards are real money so the answer is you don't know why it's stupid not necessarily okay then i can educate you this is good if you spend 200 on a card that you only paid 200 off what is happening on that credit card at the same time interest interest is accruing so you're not keeping up with that yeah because as the interest accrues your balance is going up if you're only putting on the money the same amount of money that you spent so as the interest accrues the balance is only going to go up which means the interest is always going to go up and the minimum payment is going to go up and that's how you're f***ing up credit cards you can't spend on a credit card because even with minimum monthly payments it takes forever minimum monthly payments on this takes literally 24 years to pay off and you pay a total of 24 ,711 dollars yeah even if you pay an extra up to 311 dollars a month still takes three years and you pay a total of$11 ,197.
14:34So that's what happens when you go and spend$140 on a card that's losing almost$200 in interest. Yeah. So Petco, that might be something you have to do for your pets. That's not something that I'm like, oh no. I mean, maybe you shouldn't have a pet. Maybe it doesn't make sense of your financial situation, but you already do. But on a credit card, no. Yeah. Going to this restaurant, does that make sense? fabletics does that make sense oh fabletics was accidental fabletics was accidental so they how do you charge so skip the month stray fabletics hit you honestly yeah because if i don't skip the month then they charge me 60 and i already got a refund once yeah no it's dumb i don't know why what is that i wanted this happened what is the 60 a month thing from fabletics fabletics like vip or something no cancel that cancel that i can't i can't why like they make it really complicated No cancel it be an adult Hey are you able to take tests at the school you're at Yeah I think you can cancel a Fabletic subscription You're right Or call them and be like yo Yeah It's a predatory practice like a lot of Subscriptions do it and they make it Impossibly hard to cancel And we can either be a professional victim or we can actually take care of it I prefer to take care of it Even if it's hard dedicate 10 minutes Aside and take care of it It's a fair assessment yeah it is assessment uh-huh if you can make it through your final exams i think you can cancel subscription yes they make it hard it's on purpose doesn't mean you can't yeah doesn't mean it might not take a little extra time but you put that extra time towards it yeah interest charge on purchases again a salon you're gonna do your hair that's fine for my eyebrows i don't i don't do anything to my hair it's going to be like that this is the first time i've done my eyebrows in What did you do?
16:27I got them waxed. You can't tell because natural eyebrows are so in, but they were like. So in? Okay. I guess I don't follow the eyebrow market, but why don't you just take like I do and go. No, because I can't finesse it like they can. What do you mean? All you take is the little thing and you go. And that's it. I used to like. I'm pretty sure the instructions on the boxes go. I also, I mean, like getting like an electric razor is a little more expensive. as a single purchase when I can just spend 20 bucks every two weeks that's sensible no that's the stupidest thing I've ever heard you winked at the camera like a dumb I'm hoping you're joking I'm absolutely joking no it's really stupid okay that was hilarious so what I need you to do is to go to the store yeah literally get one for like 30 bucks yeah all you have to do is just shave the unibrow part and then take the put the little niblet on there and just run it over there run it over there and then just clean it up look do i have ugly eyebrows are these hideous are these the end of the world worst no comment are they that absolutely no comment brandon zoom in on these eyebrows real quick i have no comment i'll let you all be the judge of these eyebrows but these are i just do the i think it works just fine i haven't even in a few days so it's like i want them sharp you know it lasts a couple weeks and like they say go every two weeks i wouldn't have been able to tell i wouldn't have been able to tell to be completely honest doesn't mean they look bad it's not but i wouldn't be able to tell and you're spending 200 you're spending 25 bucks on that on a 20 well 20 no 25 tip is required so so 25 bucks that's how math works 20 plus 5 yeah 25 okay and you're doing that every other week no so this is the first time that i did it in like but you just went to the camera like the dumb because i wanted to start doing it like more often because i i'm i'm a little vain i like to you know doll up a little bit yeah you can't afford it so stop okay i'm glad we solved that issue because i mean that's a pretty simple choice yeah i mean you can either afford things or you can't and you're having interest accrue on a card that you are literally just bringing up 200 every single month and it's going to get closer and closer to that 10 000 hour max then what are you even studying in school neuroscience pre-med okay so you'll make money but you're gonna go and do a lot of that before you make it yeah so does building up a 10 000 credit card really makes sense how are you going to be paying on that through medical school when there's absolutely zero time for you to go get another job how does that make sense how are you going to take care of this where does that make sense are you just going to let it go into collections and up your credit all the way through medical school and then up any potential of getting any kind of credit after medical school what's your plan with that how does that make sense walk me through the mental the mental equation that you are assigning this whole operation going through medical school while building up a ten thousand dollar credit card balance and building up a credit card balance and another thing and allowing other things to go into collections what were you possibly going to do walk me through it i don't know i i didn't there it is i don't know so you're not thinking you're not being an adult you're not being mature no i i have like no future sight i'm gonna be honest like i never planned for the future for anything so a lot of what i got on my credit card also i feel like this is worth mentioning a lot of my credit card went actually to living expenses for a while um there was a time where i was like genuinely unable to get a job why can't say can you allude um i just wasn't allowed like physically not allowed to go get a job for this time okay until when uh till i moved into my apartment okay so x would not let you work huh x would not let you work well sorry we don't need to talk yeah well if you don't want to talk about it we don't need to talk about um okay i mean i'm just having to but i did get a job when i got my apartment so i got my apartment okay well this is a little convoluted so i got my apartment in march of last year it's a super crappy four bedroom four roommate apartment i love my roommates they're great but it's we have some issues sometimes it's okay they're lovely girls but yeah crappy four bedroom apartment and for that time i didn't have a job and in april of last year is when i sold the rv for six thousand dollars you're gonna why didn't you have a job during that time because because because because because i was in classes that's bad excuse i know dude you know how many college students every college student i went to school with was working are you special or unique in the fact that you don't have to work do you have two different eye colors oh it's just the look i was gonna say you're unique in that but not unique in okay this is the lighty yeah about everyone else works well are you special i now don't get me wrong when you're in medical school that's a completely different yeah no in the specialized school like law school medical school yeah yeah that's gonna be basically impossible to work in yeah but i mean come on dude you're an undergrad i have no excuse the correct point blank i have no excuse correct i i mean i was using my stipend as an excuse but stipend why you keep saying stipend stipend stipend stipend okay words are hard i know it's i've never heard that no i i heard it as stipend when somebody told me about it i was like oh okay stipend that's the correct way to pronounce it there you go that's proper american so the uh i'll obviously excuse a situation that we don't need to go into beforehand because i'm just taking your word on that fine yeah then you moved out and then you weren't working and you're putting your debt you're putting your living expense on debt i was putting my living you're still doing that though the stipend if that makes sense i was using the stipend so how are you paying for school then student loans student loans yeah okay so what what's different now uh fine not much uh-huh yeah uh-huh you're given like a golden opportunity because you're your mom's sacrifice no absolutely it away with all your bold i yeah yeah when you put it like that it's not great well how's what i put it um and then you you the the the not looking to the future i mean this is yeah this is immaturity is it is it gets like i just need you to like sit down the journal once a month and just be like what are my goals what am i trying to do what does it take to get there literally for like an hour once a month like that's such a minimal sacrifice yeah you never think about the future no no really so why do you even want it how that's see that terrifies me for someone who is thinking to go to med school how are you going to go how are you why are you going to med school if you've never thought about your future because it's a beyond massive equipment so i i wanted to go to college because um i was actually under this notion that my benefit would cover college and that's what my mom had told me and that wasn't the case but i was already like enrolled in classes i was like oh i might as well do it just go to college everybody gets student loans is whatever um she also received money from other people right huh you also received money from other people right uh only recently like i'm going now yeah i'm getting i'm getting help um a close friend of mine is kind of helping me financially with like groceries and stuff because i just i cannot afford it right now and they make more money than me it is like honestly genuinely really kind of them and i i'm you know but you're refusing to work doesn't that feel a little selfish i'm not yeah it does feel a little selfish it's not that i was outwardly refusing to work though so i worked over the summer i worked at six flags um i mean horrible job by the way i like throwing this table over if you're not working in the summer when you're down to school so yeah damn right i i worked at six flags i passed out multiple times on the job is not a fun place to work you're not drinking water uh they wouldn't let me yeah like i i would go run to get water and they're like no you have to like do your job okay so obviously a different uh job is what we would look for in that situation then in i mean people in your situation in the service-based industry is still that's like the that's the that's the job market that's never caught up yeah i i also um in october i got a seasonal job at lush and i worked there from mid-october to when they let me go in january um it was just a contract hire so it was just a seasonal job um and i decided that i didn't want to look for another job because i thought you know oh i can live on my stipend and um just pay attention to classes because my workload for this semester has been atrocious i've not had a workload this heavy in all the semesters that i've been in school so that was part of my motivation for not getting work it's a little selfish i just wanted to laser focus on school unless it's a dangerous place to work as long as you're not spending money there i was a little bit see there it is why because see that's what i knew it's such an easy place to just pick up something on the way out why are you spending money there they're supposed to give you money not you them yeah yeah i don't know i don't have a good answer for that i i see stuff and i'm like it looks nice it smells good i might use it i need you to sit down once a month and just journal out your goals what you're trying to do how do you know you want to go to medical school um so i wanted to go to medical school um just honestly a little bit out of spite um no hold on hold on it's a terrible my sister she has some issues i won't like go into it but she has been failed by neurologists she's been failed by the entire like medical system okay and so my motivation is to become a better doctor and like i know it's a good motivation yeah so you do have some goal i mean you have something you've looked out to that's a good motivation is that like a career obviously that's something you want to be but is that a career path that you want to do oh yeah on a day-to-day basis so when i was when i was younger um when i was like a kid i really wanted to like go into medical anyway okay but i have some future looking so don't tell me you can't do that and tiktok shop $18 on a card that okay that's so bad yeah I can explain yeah I didn't think that that was on there all right go ahead I see stuff on TikTok and I'm like that looks like a good product to purchase I want to I want to um I put a 30 minute timer on it because I spend so much time on there just delete it yeah but like how am i supposed to send my friends memes um google new memes i don't know google like funny cat video just just several times a day it won't like obliterate your like you know add or whatever like it's not gonna i mean yeah no yeah exactly i mean i i've it it was interesting it took me a while but i was uh um like just for a creator like the app reddit's not a good place for a creator to be typically so bad uh because every subreddit for a creator turns into like an anti place and i know the vast majority still mean well it's just the credit karma oh yeah credit system karma system rewards yeah behavior that's not good for creators and uh i straight up deleted the app yeah and that was hard to do because i wanted to be engaged with the community but i deleted it because i knew it was bad for my mental health just like this is bad for your mental health and i put systems around me i mean there's like there's good moderators there and everything and they created good rules and i haven't other than a couple like slip-ups or i had on like my browser like this last weekend i took a look and i made one comment naughty bad but uh like i straight up deleted the app and that's just me taking the mature choice of like this is bad for me for my mental health on a daily basis so i deleted it it sucks because i like certain things about it and you like certain things about that but it's bad for your mental health so it's just doing the adult choice to just delete it it's like we can't be spending tiktok stupid shop when we're building a credit card balance and you have zero income from any work you do and i don't know what the is gonna happen in three years when you go to medical school and borrow three hundred thousand dollars a year and have no way to bring in any money whatsoever is the stipend going to be going to you forever for no matter what for however long or like how's that working 36 months that i'm in school so i haven't counted so far and i haven't done the math on that but i'm like oh 36 months yes yeah so what are you gonna do your fourth year your fourth semester uh eighth eighth and ninth semester all right one two three four five seven and eighth semester work i mean i it but you're not now i know okay okay and then spirit airlines where are you going i oh you can't afford anywhere where are you going i went home to visit my family oh okay well that's yeah uh san diego so so they're not in san antonio my mom is in san antonio my dad is in san diego he wouldn't pay for his college kid no so here's here's it's okay so oh geez okay in my parents divorced when i was like really little okay my mom took off for texas in 2011 my dad already had custody so my dad raised me and my sister alone um so i you know grew up with my dad and then when i was living in the rv when i was having that issue um i reached shout to my mom because i was thinking like okay maybe maybe my mom will help me take me in and she did um she helped me out for a while but my dad is also like super duper poor so he's not going to be able to afford like helping me come home which is fine yeah which is fine um i've actually had to help him out a couple times and throw him a bone a few times he's asked me for money buddy you spend 300 hours more than you bring in on a monthly basis yeah sending any bone yeah amazon uh stopping at some kiosk doesn't make any sense oh another tiktok shop great $22.
30:52Delete that app. It's destroying you. I know. It's worth... 30 % interest on here on the$7 ,494 I thought it was 25%. You are incorrect. It is 30%. Probably was at 25 at some point and then the rate went up. I mean rates went up last year so... I only have two credit cards which I mean like is better than some people I've seen. You have no income and your credit card balance is up to eight thousand dollars with both of these combined and you have things in collections see that's that's what makes me yell people wonder why i go so hard into people it's because so many people come here they sit here even though they've seen this show before even though you know what's happening and you sit there and you're like it's not that bad it's bad just because someone has worse debt or a worse situation just because someone's injecting a needle under a bridge doesn't mean your situation is not bad.
31:46Yeah. Okay? Yeah. So that's why I yell and dig into it because I need you to know how bad this is because if you don't know how bad it is, what motivation are you going to have to change anything? Yeah. What's the balance on here? You said they both went up. So what's the balance on here? I didn't think it went up that much.
32:08You f***ing creature. That's not funny. It is not funny. Shut the f*** up. It's a stress response. Okay. Yeah. Okay. It's like, okay. It's not great. No. It's a response that I always say. That's my stress response. Just rolls off my tongue. Yeah. It's easy to say. It's fun to say. $448.87 up from$408. Available credit,$51. Just kill me now. Ruined my entire life. Death. the minimum monthly payment of 25 uh yep 25 bucks yeah don't know how you're that one i used to pay off in full uh you are not a credit card person girl no not at all not at all i should not have them no not in the slightest i'm glad you figured that yeah okay yeah you did it you solved the solution starting a screen recording uh if you're gonna use a card use the fizz card because it's at least geared towards college students and it's more of a charge card so i never actually heard that okay i'll get you set up with it you've watched the channel okay whatever uh right it interests me in charge 12.32 cents there ken purchases more than the minimum monthly payment oh just fucking tiktok shop 25 dollars wait i spent another i spent it on that card i didn't even know i spent it on that card i could see like like death in your eyes if you if your eyes could shoot lasers they would yeah it's because you're burying your entire life it's like i care about your life more than you doing it destroys me i'm just kind of five below amazon laughing it off yeah unfortunately laughter doesn't pay off debt no it doesn't but you know it uh might make me feel better about myself i don't need you to feel better though i need you to pay this off yeah this isn't a feel good happy time teletubbies show dude not at all this is like get your life together fix it because you live in the real world unfortunately for me fortunately for everyone but the rest of us we actually uh grow up and learn how to deal with it yeah wait a second wait a second yes brandon play the thing she said about the car at the beginning of the episode never in my entire life will i ever have i ever financed a car okay so so you said hold on hold on so so you owe your family for cars instead not my family but somebody very very close to me so you owe other humans for money instead so you do borrow for cars so what the what the did you tell me at the beginning because that was the title title is in my name and i am paying them off like i am trying to collect enough money to just do it all in one go it's just but you owe it to someone else i only owe them two thousand that is too that is money that is money you spend more than three hundred dollars you spend three hundred dollars more than you bring it on a monthly basis and you owe someone two thousand dollars you say you never borrow money for car that is owing someone money and And you don't have any net money left over at the end of the month.
35:21So how are you paying them any money? Also, this says$3 ,000. So why is it$1 ,000 different? Why would you give us a different number? Because I already paid$1 ,000. How? When? How? From what money? Tax return. Oh. Yeah. Okay. It is my tax return. I also paid. I'm pretty sure I paid like. Hold on. No, it's about$1 ,000 is what I paid on it. It's not a finance. I'm not financing it. You did through an individual. Through somebody else, yeah, but not through a bank. I would never finance through a bank. That's what I meant. So I stand by when I say I would never finance through a bank. Girl, you have credit cards.
35:57Yeah, you're right. Like, what saddle are you on top of right now? What are you talking about? Still financing. You're right. You're right. What is the car? What is the car? It is a 2007 BMW 328X speed. I love that car to bits and pieces. It's actually worth more than what I paid for. So it's a good car It is worth I think I looked on like Kelly Blue Book It was like 5 ,000 Know what types to me It's pretty
36:33It's a good car I have a little I have a little sticker on the car that says I mean I drive it pretty fast on the 10 Stick your head out the window And let that tear off the eyebrow hairs oh my gosh i think i've gotten it up to how many miles is on it oh uh 169 000 it's not horrible because most of the cars that i've had are like 200 000 plus so like but the first car that i had was a honda second car was a toyota so i think those are in different ballparks because hondas and toyotas will outlive everyone how's the condition of the car oh it's it's fine it's no no damage no okay i mean we're checking the value of it okay okay it's a good car i stand by it um i will say that um when i first got you're gonna get so mad when i first got the car the front differential started crapping out on it i don't know what that is the the front differential it um i believe it like oh i can't remember what the front diff does but if the front differential gets torn apart it will tear apart the entire transmission so i caught it in time but what happened was the guy that owned the car before me loaned it to his brother to turn independently i guess so of one another okay yeah something like that but the guy who owned the car he let his brother borrow the car for a long time he was going to sell it to his brother and then his brother just backed out immediately like i guess like he got another car backed out okay he also took the tires with him so you owe money to a friend i do yeah and there's no like minimum payment negotiation or anything there is um but like we're still kind of like ironing it out your iron how long has this been when'd you get this car what the f*** are you talking about in december how are you ironing it out more than a quarter later come on dude we're almost done in the first month of the second quarter of the year i haven't yeah i just i haven't are you still are you gonna know you know it's a fantastic question lack of maturity yeah most likely because that's been an ongoing thing in this conversation so far
38:40yeah that's in good condition i would say the seats aren't ripped didn't smell like cigarettes i mean the front diff started to kill itself but i caught it in time i got it towed and i got it fixed how much did that cost my friend helped pay for it so i'm actually not aware of the full number it's your friend who this friend just gives you everything you're right i'm very undeserving are they like in love with you yeah there it is there it is okay first of all uh give me a private sale no the trading value i want to get private sale oh i would never trade in a car but i don't mess with dealerships at all craigslist facebook marketplace that's where you get a vehicle when you are dirt poor i stand by that i think everybody should get craigslist cars okay yeah about four thousand bucks with the value hey i i got it for three thousand that's still you know net positive i hope it lasts almost 200 000 miles oh knock on wood please b &w wait oh my god do you know how to drive state no
39:49No I don't wanna What I was gonna say I could like drive around Cause it's fun to drive it's loud it has a cat delete Which yeah the car Has it has no catalytic converter Yeah it's got a cat delete It's a good car You keep saying that People think it's noisy but obviously Cause of the cat delete Why don't you get one it's it's not required why is it everyone else's responsibility to listen you drive a piece of it's like one of the most annoying things when you're sitting in your own silence and someone's like hey i'm more important than the rest of the world around me let me do my loud honda civics at 3 a.m everyone knows those types of honda civics they're like the boxes but they're super loud and so's yours so's my beamer yeah okay so what i don't i like having a loud car yeah honestly that's douchey to everyone else around you it's like some people just want to exist yeah without hearing yeah yeah that's fair i mean i at least don't drive like super late at your student loans because i don't have them here oh how much have you borrowed ed financial those are my student loans oh i just don't have the statements though but yeah i don't i didn't know where to find that guys we're doing some really cool things right now making some extra shows that I think you should check out.
41:09We're making a weekly news show where we recap financial, economic, and business news from that week. It's called Your Week in the Money. We also have a financial education show called Money Makes Sense. And if you want to stick to those financial audits, we have weekly follow-ups. So check out these awesome three channels linked in the description below. It doesn't matter. It's not like you're being made to pay right now anyway. Yeah, yeah. Or the interest is accruing. It doesn't exist because I don't have to do it yet is what my brain thinks. Like the money's not real. for someone who's going to borrow hundreds of thousands of dollars to go to medical school.
41:40Yeah. Great. Yeah, you're right. Okay. One, no, 15 ,232 so far. Gosh, and you get a stipend. That's insane. At this rate, you're in the first semester, second semester of your sophomore, right? I'm in the first semester of my sophomore. So it's my third semester right now. Get that right with eight semesters, dude. you're leaving with forty thousand six hundred eighteen dollars for someone who's getting essentially a scholarship if you think about it like that you're being you're being a complete dumb oh my yeah you're throwing away so much you're throwing away your entire life you're throwing away your entire financial life and why would you do more semesters um because i did because i did 12 credit hours they expect like 15 or not 15 well 15 16 credit hours per semester so take a summer semester um i just i wanted to work over the summer just i wanted to use the summer to like i mean i would love you too as well but just work throughout dude yeah more hours in the summer absolutely but i also i didn't i um i didn't sign up for a summer fafsa and like meet that deadline so i just i was you are getting the blessing of a lifetime and you're just throwing it away because you're not even fully because you're not even fully using it for your living expenses your living expenses your credit card balances are going up because you want to get tiktok shop stupidity you're dumb you're right i know i'm right that's why you have this this reputable show it's a good show thank you sucking up is not gonna help but no i'm not trying to suck up you have collections i do um it was from a uh medical situation progressive oh management's yeah so both of these were from medical yeah can i ask what happened um i mean it's a little dark but i'm not afraid to say it well it's up to you um i tried to kill myself that is dark yeah i uh don't do that yeah i drank like half a bottle of vodka and i took half a bottle of ibuprofen walked two miles down the road to the police station because i started to regret what i did i walked to the police station the police station um and they were open and i called the suicide hotline and they like um they did a uh merge call with um with 9-1-1 good so they called an ambulance they gave me uh the charcoal which tastes interesting um is that to like throw up or something no it's to um kind of like buffer the poison basically to like it absorbs poison and it makes it easier to pass through your body so i went to the hospital um they had to like hook me up to like ekgs and stuff it was a whole thing it was a lot and then i got put in a 5150 hold for two days because they just determined that i had the big sad and not like not a danger to myself or others this was march of 2022 okay two years ago yeah i'm very sad that happened i'm very glad you're with us here today that's i mean that's that's a big important thing that you took the actions necessary after you went through the attempt and uh sought help and how has your mental health been it's it's been improving are you seeing a therapist i'm seeing a psychiatrist okay cool so i i take uh antidepressants now we we stay helping we stay on prozac oh it's helping a lot it is actually like totally improved my quality of life yeah whatever helps anyone yeah because my after that had happened like my anxiety just like skyrocketed like it was uncontrollable um there were days where i couldn't get out of bed i couldn't leave the house because i was so anxious like i would have panic attacks getting into my car i would have panic attacks getting out of the door yeah and it really like hit like a super high point actually over last summer and that's kind of partially why i didn't have a job for most of the summers because i was so anxious that i couldn't get out of bed that's a real thing yeah that's also where my rv uh sale money went so it went to the medical bills to my living expenses right so i had six thousand dollars from selling the rv i was just curled up in bed all the time how are you doing school though um i was actually doing really well in school was it online only um so for the spring semester of last year it was in person um for the fall semester it was online only how are you how are you able to do the spring semester with like you're not being able to go outside so i wasn't like as anxious so it's kind of like up and down it's kind of oscillated a little bit um so the excitement of being able to go to school kind of curved my anxiety a little bit and i was able to do well in my classes and you know go to school on campus um and then in may i started having uh this particular medical issue that they refused to assess um which is also why i have so many medical bills okay and i know you have something that we need to go through um okay well as someone who has a panic disorder and you know very anxious i have panic attacks i very much relate and you know i've had dark thoughts as well when i'm in my like worst panic situation so i totally relate and i'm very happy you're with us today and i'm happy you took the steps necessary and i'm happy you're seeing a mental health professional on that so that's really good let's uh change the mood by going and taking a look at the car that's going to last for like five more miles before it dies and you're hit with the 10 000 hey don't wish that on me don't wish that on me not wish i'm I have some stuff in the front seat.
47:35My car's dirty. No, it's Taco Bell. The silver beamer. Behold my beautiful box. It's got a little sticker here. This is take it easy cowboy. And then it's got a little sticker here. This is tell your cat. I said, and then it has a sticker in the front. That says perfect. At least she calls it a box. She already knows. Right over here. right here. It's just a little bit of a box, but... Well, listen, it's fine. I just... The thing I don't like is that you're like, I never borrow money for cars, so... No, I said I don't finance. You did. You're another person. I financed your... You did. I did. I have absolutely nothing against this by any means.
48:18I just don't like that you lied about financing it. Asking you right now to pay it off. Just... The friend that has a crush on you and desperately wants to... Ask me to pay it off as soon as I can. Okay. is most of wait should i move these on yes okay and then bring them back to your face again yeah check check check okay so two collections two thousand three hundred thirteen dollars and one thousand eight hundred ninety dollars and then your friend do you owe the friend any warm money so they're paying for your groceries they're awful also did this and then you also had sugar dandies correct i did this was this was like way in the past i will say that way in the past i would say like about like a year and a half two years ago is this when that happened so kind of coincides with when i was homeless i wow okay it was a means to an end um wait is the homeless when you're talking the rv thing yeah oh okay yeah um so i had i went and like started trying to get sugar daddies because you know finances were bad um how do you find them there's a website it's like a like rich daddy no love.com something like that yeah um so so how does it work they like send you it for it's kind of like a dating app um you meet up with them you you go on a date and yeah yeah um and it goes further depending okay yeah um i did you i'm glad were you uncomfortable with that what like that because i guess it can be seen as like a form of run it can yeah i know where you come are you were you uncomfortable with that a little bit i'm glad you stopped that's all i'm saying i wouldn't want you to be in a situation that's dangerous i did it um honestly i did it for my cat and i know that's like really dumb but i would go to the ends of the earth for my baby and i knew that our living situation that we had he was in the rv with me daddy stuff for the cat yeah oh okay i thought you meant you stopped for the cat i'm like no not at all not at all i did it for him I wanted to make sure that like he still had, you know, food and water and that our RV was in good running condition.
50:43Because when I had the RV, a lot of being in the RV, it was cheaper than rent, but not by much. Sure. Maintenance and insurance and gas and breakdowns. Yeah, no, I actually, I did a lot of repairs myself. I had to jerry rig the generator many times. I replaced the carburetor on it That's in the past So you're not doing the sugar daddy stuff anymore But your friend's sending you money And this is just the kindness of the heart No expectations They're just like this They've done this for other people too Other friends Are they enabling you I would potentially say yes Because you're not working I do feel like it's enabling I have your percentages Your percentages are It is enablement And I would like to tell your friend that, to be completely honest, because I don't think you're learning any lessons or constructing any good behavior.
51:37So, yeah, you're right. You're right. You have medical bills? Unknown medical bills. So first, it's like Caleb Springer first. Are you kidding me? Glad you're able to laugh your way through it. Yeah. Yeah. Well, please tell me some of these are just the same, but sent out. So I actually had to go to the hospital multiple times last year. I didn't have insurance because Texas state insurance is bad. I couldn't get state insurance. Well, what about like your mom and stuff? No, I don't get that. No. I was actually dropped from health care with my dad when I was 18. I got my own health care, which is like, that's not.
52:17But why? He wanted me to be independent. Oh, he wanted it. Because I was going to say with the affordable health care, you can do it through 26. It would be free. It would have been free. Yeah, for you. yeah i don't know why he dropped me he just dropped me he was like oh i can't do it anymore i i won't ask um so i'm opening these yeah okay it's gonna be so bad but i'll explain what were the medical things what was so i get this random scorching searing pain in my right side and when you think of horrible pain in your right side you think it might be my appendix exploding sure um So I went to the hospital for that.
52:56I got a CT scan. They said that I had inflammation. And they just sent me home because I didn't have any insurance. $2.59 on this one. Continue. Pain happened again and again and again. And if it got to a certain threshold, I would go to the emergency room because I didn't want to die. Yeah. Probably not. It's not preferable. I already tried it once. That's a bad joke. I like a good dark joke. But. But I'm also focused on package opening. Yeah. This one doesn't have a number, so let's see. I think it should. But. No, this one's just like, hey, thanks for being, thanks for using us. Thanks for being a customer because hospitals are businesses.
53:42Some are nonprofits, some are businesses, but they do have to pay their employees. I know. It's just, it's more of a systemic issue in general. just you know like that people have to pay so much for health care it is very expensive and you know like other developed countries have universal health care we're just very behind they also use our medications and their health care isn't as good a lot of the times well yes it is more affordable for the average person it gets very complicated when people try to say oh this one's better and this one's better for this reason and this reason this is way too simple it's beyond complicated thing that people water down oh yeah irresponsibility irresponsibly to just get across a political point that doesn't make any sense yeah well okay 353 on that one my stance is just because like i'm somebody who's not had like fantastically good health so i'm like trust me i think wouldn't it be great if it was covered by the taxes that i already pay oh you barely pay taxes but of course i would also say that uh someone that i like someone that can't afford like literally cannot yeah yes obviously but that's why also you're supposed to be able to stay on your parents health insurance to 26 but also there is the fact that you also do not work so there are some life choices yeah so there's a lot again this becomes much more complex yeah i'm not saying you shouldn't receive any help for your situation but it's a whole lot of nuance to the conversation people try to oversimplify it immediately yeah health care is free in other countries healthcare is too expensive in this country you're right you're right it's way more complicated yeah uh five hundred eighty five dollars on this one so what uh what ended up happening in the medical so because i didn't have insurance it was just kind of like waiting till i'm in horrible awful pain again and then see if something's wrong with me blood work looks fine everything looks fine and there's this kind of joke with people who have a lot of medical conditions it's like well your labs look good i don't understand what's wrong with you which is exactly the treatment that i get 90 on this one so i finally got insurance but it's very very expensive that's actually where my grocery budget is going is to pay for this insurance but also it's almost 400 but i've seen again you're spending yeah like you're spending just about that much on bull as well no you're right you're right it's like it's that's where all my money went if all the money that you were going was literally on health care necessities you have my full sympathy and you have giving you a hug and being sad with you yeah but there's all but then there's your behavior and racking up your debt even further for tick tock and eyebrows so i have poor impulse control yes yeah it's like i'm aware of the problem on this one you're well no that's actually kind of worse because you're already aware but you haven't done anything to change it and that's worse than me making you aware of your problem and then you then take actions to change it you're already aware but you haven't done anything which is yeah yeah no that's a good point um and this one's one of the same things where it's like hey also there is kind of a good story to you know the health care thing so i am paying a lot for insurance but i finally got a gi referral so they can start to figure out what's wrong with me it yeah no it hurts sitting here right now i'm in pain but i'm running ibuprofen or anything um i can't take ibuprofen it's my prozac oh okay tylenol uh i can take tylenol but i just i don't take pain medications i just kind of thug it out okay yeah it doesn't bother me too much if i'm used to it that's interesting yeah no it can cause upper gi bleed that might be the same one 985 on this one uh yes that is one of the same ones yeah so we don't need to write that one down but we're still going because we've made it halfway through oh hey i misheard you and i was like 900 yeah it was 900 by the way that that talk on the health insurance conversation wasn't a political talk in any way i just am one of those annoying motherfuckers who plays devil's advocate on everything so even if you said like american health care is great i'd play the devil's advocate on the other side and if you said and then if you said it's absolutely terrible i played devil's advocate on the other side yeah i'm just that annoying motherfuckers that everyone hates there's a lot a nuance to the conversation for sure god there's so many i i've been i've been collecting these and putting them in my dresser because i don't want to look at them yeah that makes them go away yeah yeah i mean a shredder would be easier but we have one of those uh 27 and 50 cents on this one oh that's not horrible yeah i know you could have just paid it with like a 16th of the money you spent eating out i don't know if i did that math right not a public bath kind of guy.
58:27I'll take your word for it. As much as I love opening documents. Yeah, there's a lot. There's a lot. Some of them I... $7.91 on this one. Yeah, some of them I did open just to make sure that they were medical bills. And then I just didn't look any further. I did not look at numbers. Oh, I'm scrunching these. Oh. Oh. This one's bad. Oh, no. $2 ,683.66. Well, that's not as bad as one of my collections, but it's... Yeah, well, what do you mean one of your collections? I saw 2 ,313 and 1 ,890. Was it another collection? Oh, no, no, no, no. That first collection that you mentioned, I actually paid a little bit of it when I had some money.
59:07When? So it was like a year ago. Well, it reset the activity on it. I made a mistake. I made a mistake. And I did not know it was a mistake because I don't have anybody teaching me about finances until now. Oh, I know. That's every American until you look into it yourself. it needs to be a class i feel like even if it was would people pay attention that's what i'm that too yeah but it would be good as an option for those who want to listen it's like home ec they don't teach home ec anymore but do they not probably state by state basis district i think yeah five dollars on this one okay i was last of them there's your pile of pile of shame so you've been to a lot of different places yeah and um i've also bumped into a lot of doctors which is another reason why i want to be a better doctor make them shitty um very dismissive um not really listening to me and listening to my pain um i will say i got a lot of male doctors and when i got a female doctor she did more tests she was like okay let's see if it's maybe your ovaries or if it's something else we'll do you know we'll do an ultrasound we'll do like other scans and she just like was way more like comprehensive with that i think a lot of the doctors that i had before were very like dismissive they just they're like well your blood work looks normal just go home it's 9 ,099.66 yeah that sounds about right and then they know your name as we learned earlier but immediately in our checking account we can go to taco bell like so how often do you go to taco bell i go a lot i go a lot why because i just well okay there's multiple reasons and i'm actually like working on it so my oh my if my roommates see this i'm sorry our kitchen is filthy it's clean it filthy it is unusable clean it they don't i have cleaned it so many times they don't keep it clean there's roaches in the microwave probably suck clean it i'm sorry like i'm sorry this sucks they should they should be responsible you should also be an adult and have a conversation with them so what i can clean it you work 12 hours and you don't or you have 12 credit hours and you uh a lot of them are probably gen eds as well because you're only in the third semester about yeah um so you have time and you don't what i do instead is i have a little cooktop in my room okay and i cook in my room i know it sounds dumb but i cook in my room uh I cook in my room and like I do dishes in my bathroom sink.
1:01:46If there is no reason to leave my room, I don't leave my room. I don't like talking to people. And like my roommates are nice girls. You don't like talking. Yeah. I don't like talking to my roommates very much. Like sometimes I just go into like pure goblin mode where I'm just like in my room. and if anybody needs anything, I kind of like emerge from the cave. I said one purchase. Okay. Cora's Grill Amazon evade treats. Cora's Grill. Oh, Cora's Grill I actually got paid back for. Okay. I'm just going to read through these and then if you have anything, you can tell me. Okay. 1:04:28I don't want that in here. What even is it? It's a vape. Is it nicotine or weed? It's like half nicotine, half no nicotine because I'm actually trying to wean myself off of nicotine. Don't float in my direction. No, I'm trying to float away. I don't want your cancer in here.
1:04:50Less cancer than a cigarette. put that away oh there it is there's the flavor yeah so it's two different flavors people do that god so inconsiderate to everyone around you i asked you if you wanted to see a trick did i even respond i think you just did it i think you gave me an okay we'd have to roll that back to see but yeah if i was a guy i think i'd be the biggest d-bag but thankfully i'm not so i i might be able to get away if you were a guy someone saying okay would not be considered consent so you go yeah you're right you're right so listen to what people say next time before you blow smoke in their face paypal parking paypal prime video i just smell so fruity in here now and i just know that it's unlike bad stuff i'm not gonna put it in your budget i hope you can quit that's so much easier said than done yeah i know it's very addictive yeah that thing's a brick i can't believe it yeah yeah and that's actually one of the smaller ones that i've had yeah yeah i'm just so and then parking okay yeah so oh and then three dollars in savings so yes three dollars we should absolutely be going to taco bell every single day with three dollars in savings yes it used to be a penny i used to have a penny in my savings well it was because i couldn't like have a zero balance and i needed the money so i just put a penny in there yeah 36.3 percent of spending goes to housing 665 dollars and 50 cents 6.1 goes to your phone or 111 dollars and 63 cents who's your provider use helium instead it's like 20 bucks a month yeah use i just paid off my phone too because then switch to heal one of them switch to your phone 14s one of them i for phone 14 well I didn't pay off my phone.
1:06:40I paid off my Apple watch. Cause I got an Apple watch a few years ago. I, it was a mistake. I don't even wear it. Like, yeah, I do. Yeah. I could only find use with it when I was on top. $115. 77 cents. Necessary food, 3.7 % or$67.13 at the grocery store. Ooh. I cook on a top stove. Yeah, but I am getting help with my groceries too. So that's not factored in. so he buys he helps me get my groceries how does it work though like where's the cash does he send it to you uh no we just we just go shopping together yeah so the dude wants to date right that's what you kind of hinted to words earlier you think you're leading him on it's not very nice as a fellow dude i'm not leading him on we we we've talked about it's behind closed doors bull food going out to eat 163.67 cents 8.9 percent unknown shopping typically amazon 15.5 or 289 uh 283 dollars and 51 cents 30 dollars into medical or health care or 1.6 percent you're spending 0.4 percent with the subscriptions 235 dollars 35 cents with the miscellaneous bull usually stopping and getting the taquitos 12.8 percent 154 dollars and 28 cents with the other large purchases or 8.4 percent of the spending oh my gosh yeah the going out to eat taco bell on the grill, Starbucks taquitos.
1:08:02I didn't think it was that bad. Miscellaneous Bullshit, Mathaway, Forever 21, Japanese. Forever 21, that one, we will excuse for this situation. There's a new station, KUSI. Oh, KUSI, that was at the airport. Because I got food at the airport. And I also got a souvenir. Then Smokeverse, TikTok shop, the kiosk, five below. Kiosk, I think, is... Large purchases, Spirit Airlines. Spay, neuter for the count. yes i had to a textbook and uh sending out money via paypal yeah yeah paypal is for a couple subscriptions actually i use paypal for um for i use discord nitro but i use nitro classic because it's five dollars a month uh and i have spotify because i would pass away without spotify um so for the cats um that spay neuter that was actually a deposit so the total was somewhere like$55, I think.

1:09:38I know. I know. You're right. Come on. What's your rent? Your portion of rent? I think it changes because of my electric bill that gets factored in. But typically like$6.25-ish. So that includes utilities. Mm-hmm. Including internet, which is nice. Huh? renter's insurance nope nope that's too expensive that's it's illegal girl no no not it not at my apartment complex yes it's illegal in texas you have to have renter's insurance who said that the state of texas i don't have renter's insurance they didn't tell me i needed it because usually like your landlord tells you when you need it well no they'll tell you to get it but okay well let me let me fact check myself yeah because they didn't say that i need it and there is nowhere in my lease that says that i need it because i had to read over my lease because i'm trying to break my lease but i can't break my lease which means that i'm stuck with the financial burden of paying for this apartment until august oh never mind it doesn't mandate i i was completely wrong that was my fault yeah i'm glad i fact checked it you were confident about it i was i swear i could have read it maybe that was uh michigan i know california requires it because in my apartment in california i needed to have renter's insurance oh it's not recorded by law in michigan so i'm just dumb so okay cool well i mean first of all that's risky because like floods I live on the third floor I'm not worried about blood Water never happens above the third floor everyone There's nothing notorious that happens Once a week or so That happens above the third floor Never Gas vroom vroom how much for like driving Oh my gosh I fill up So I actually don't drive that much I don't drive as much as you think Just a number dude just a number please My car takes premium only so every time I go to the gas station I spend like 40 to 50 and that's probably three times a month twice or three times a month i did stop at bucky's before i got here probably so 112 dollars and 50 cents we'll call it 112 dollars car insurance um so i pay just what is it i'm sorry it's 87 thank you and the car payment that you've agreed upon that 2 000 minimum monthly payment what is it of 300 per month okay i'm just gonna add that to your minimum monthly yeah medical health care ongoing psychiatrists all that good stuff what does it cost on a monthly basis so my psychiatrist is actually through the school so that's free which is fantastic i love them for that yeah you're borrowing a lot of money student loans to it so is it free no but yeah sure um out of the pocket right now health insurance is 381 i think it's like 380 ballpark um and that's monthly i have gone to the doctor a couple times and those co-pays are usually like 20 bucks often once a month probably about because we're still trying to figure out what's going on nope okay no subscriptions can't afford it doesn't make sense uh 300 bucks for your groceries and then you're not going out to eat but 300 bucks for your groceries then you're uh then i would do a hundred dollars for tp fun anything else you need to survive you know woman necessities and makeup and toilet paper and yeah other necessities like toilet paper well i meant the women necessities as its own pocket yeah and then also toilet paper i was trying to say tampons without going full like hey get yourself some tampons girl biological uh teaching session so the cat how much on a monthly basis it's complicated and i know like i i go into these tangents i'm so sorry i'm just like this So I've had my cat Gonzo for nearly four years now, and he has not had any medical issues until recently.
1:13:23So that was expensive. I think I've paid like a thousand dollars for his medical expenses. And then Milo, my second cat, he's an eight month old kitten that was given to me by my roommate because she couldn't take care of him anymore. um he after he got his neuter they botched it and i've had to pay 400 now for vet visits just because of the insurance i do not because i didn't see any value in it but now i do that's how insurance works you don't see any value into it until you use it yeah yeah i didn't want to have like another monthly payment and i considered it i'd like shopped for it but i was like oh well like gonzo doesn't get sick that much and then milo came along and then milo's vet bills came along and then gonzo's vet bills came along and these cats are disaster typed and sent me like this is what i'm dealing with you want to read it aloud for the world yeah i'm trying to focus and this is we should film an audit where we put an alcohol tampon in kayla and he gets slowly more and more drunk throughout the episode so we're boofing alcohol with i mean yeah you don't know what boofing is no oh it's a way to take drugs through your people boof yeah horse tranquilizer yeah that's the thing it apparently gets through your system faster than ingestion yeah
1:14:58there's so much to learn about this world yeah your phone you're good are you gonna switch to helium call 20 bucks a month well what's wrong 20 bucks a month well i mean because i have i have t-mobile magenta max oh great i my apartment wi-fi sucks yeah i need the 5g yeah this uses the same 5g towers does it yeah is the major carriers i will consider it because 20 bucks a month but i don't fully own my phone yet i need you told me you did no i said i i corrected myself and said what is it what is your monthly cost then for now 111 dollars and 60 something cents about 112 yeah 112 okay 300 for groceries how much for the cat on a monthly basis without a story.
1:15:45Litter is like 20 bucks. I think on a monthly basis, their food, I'm actually switching their food because they were alerted to their last food. Dude, I need a number. It's like 50 bucks for their new food. Okay. Probably twice a month, actually. Okay. And then that's about it because cats are actually cheap. That's it. After all that, that's what we got. And the vet bills, but those are surprise bills. plus$100 for the TP fund yourself. Okay. So$220 with that combined. $220 for your TP fund. Okay. Debt minimum monthly payments. This balance is going up. It's crazy. Debt is one wild way to lead a dude along.
1:16:28Trust me, I get crushes and I crush hard, but I couldn't imagine. I mean, we're best friends. I'm sure he loves to hear that. Yeah. Okay, so minimum in order to survive is$2 ,436. dios mio dios mio indeed because that's a thousand dollars that's a thousand more than I have that's awful which I mean like and yet you're smiling straight through yeah it's a stress response if I'm laughing I'm not crying yeah how you doing trying not to cry can I let you know something smiling is an interesting response there's also a response to you know not making enough money called work called work called get out there and make some money you have time i know you have time you're doing 12 hours most of them are gen eds you need to work work i'm laughing because i'm stressed i promise
1:17:33you're definitely right about that i i have looked for jobs it's hard to look for jobs right now but That's not an excuse necessarily. It's just that I have to apply for like 50 jobs to maybe get an interview for two. Okay. Welcome to literally what every other human has been through. You're not like the special unique unicorn. I know I'm not special and unique. It happens to everyone. They have jobs. And they've had jobs before this. I've had jobs before this. Everyone in this complex has jobs. They've been through application processes. There are 300 million people in this country Many of them have done the exact same thing You can f*** the exact same thing And I promise you will be alive at the end of it Okay?
1:18:17Cool, so f*** with that Kill me Buddy, I just need you to work like 20 hours a week 20 hours a week, 15 bucks an hour And after taxes You can at least make your bills And that's all I want for now I want more than that, I want you to pay off the debts But at minimum, I cannot have your balances going up As you're Not even halfway through your undergrad. Yeah. And then you're going to borrow$300 ,000 to go to medical school. And then I don't know how you're going to make your minimum payments on top of this. And you should pay this dude back immediately. No, no. Yeah. And I've talked to him about that.
1:18:51I want to. I know. I'm just going to. Let me rant. Let me rant. I'm ranting. Okay. You've ruined my rant and now I can't even rant. I'm so sorry. That's really the options. You have to do that. Or you're just going further and further and further and further and further and further and further into debt. and again I don't know how you're paying it when you go to medical school so that's what you have to do if you could maybe work 25 hours which is it really sucks just work really long days starting early in the morning at a service-based you know job or something uh stocking shelves even just early morning to like you know late afternoon early evening saturdays and sundays you know we can get close to that yeah and with that uh you'll be able to do your homework and studies in the evening you'll be tired wah wah welcome to college welcome to adulthood it's not that i want you to do it it's just the existence that has to happen and in that case if you do that like 25 bucks uh sorry 25 hours you'll have a little left over if we have an extra 200 bucks left over on a monthly basis we can pay off a medical i think we're allowing it to sit for a second yeah yeah i would rather pay off the credit cards and we're paying off the capital one within a couple months and then you're paying off your best friend.
1:20:06Yeah. And just in a few months and then the Quicksilver is going to take longer to pay off but you can't spend any more money on those. You can't spend any more money on those cards. You cannot build up the balance. You need to cut your spending down to zero. Your necessities are a thousand dollars more to survive. So you have to budget. You're going to go through a budgeting program and track your expenses and go through the education of it so we can hold your hand.
1:20:35usually i like to gift a tech certification for course careers but i can't in this one because it doesn't really make sense it's like you're i mean you're going into something completely different and i i like what you're going into and i totally support it it's just you're doing it in a very stupid way with your money and life and not working and spending and stupid yeah
1:20:54okay so that's what i do you'll be very behind in retirement by the time you graduate medical school but i need you to bring in extra one thousand two hundred fifty dollars right now easier said than done but just work your on the weekends maybe one evening your slowest evening of the week and then just try to get on that consistent schedule and just bring in some money like everyone else i had to work all throughout college there i think there was my first year my first year was the only year where i didn't work and i was like 18 19 oh the worker can just put it all in debt and i started to learn and you know that's not how things you know and then i had to pay rent and all that stuff and so i took care of it um so that's what i would do in your case you're gonna be out in retirement we can talk about retirement when you get there we do our follow-ups on thursdays every week on our follow-up channel so i look forward to doing that i i want to do it at the end of this semester i want to i i need to see progress on this yeah the balances cannot go up at a very minimum and you just see that you got a job and you're at least putting effort into this or at the very least applying to jobs like it's a full-time job you need to apply to jobs go into these service-based things meet the managers apply for the jobs your college student they're looking for on college campuses where a lot of them are seasonal anyway in terms of the demand from the consumer base yeah like they look for uh the supply of workers based on that as well so you know on a semester by semester basis sometimes the schedules are even built around that like when i worked at jimmy johnson campus they were the schedules were built out on a consistent weekly schedule that you signed up for things around your classes and then they changed every semester because the majority students were college students so you know you try to find something like that and then we can talk about investing in a you know quite a few years and maybe we can get your maybe i can contribute to your muumuu account to just get it funded and we can start talking about all that stuff and it gets exciting but right now you just need to bring in money and you start paying this off slowly unfortunately i think collections and medicals all just kind of sit in there.
1:22:49Yeah. But the two credit cards and the person, that shit's being paid off. Yeah. Then the student loans are going to be borrowing so much money. But what my minimum requirement for you, you have to look for scholarships. Are you kidding me? I can't believe you haven't been doing that yet. I've been trying. There's not many for adult women. We know your version of trying. Yeah. So I do not believe that for a second. No offense. I would get pet insurance that's going to make your budget go up but it's also going to allow things to be manageable when big expenses come up and animals love to find ways to get sick and hurt they're little shits I love them we're going to you and I are going to roast Noah in the post show about his what was it spoofing was that right boofing boofy we're gonna roast him for his like insanity he must be bored back there so stick around for that we're gonna roast that man okay spending in a budget was obviously ridiculous i mean you just can't afford anything into spending more than you i can't give him more than a zero your debt collections i mean that goes to zero and immediately you have nothing to emergency buy nothing to return okay so it's obviously you said three that's hilarious hammer financial score zero out of 10.
