In short
A couple in San Antonio, Texas discusses severe financial stress from self-employment/real estate wholesaling and contracting, including not filing taxes, large ongoing expenses, and mounting debt. The episode quickly turns into their relationship breakdown: poor communication about money, emotional disconnection, and escalating conflict (coffee thrown out a window; punching walls; threats like driving into a ditch). The host frames it as “the craziest debt” case tied to both financial mismanagement and marital dysfunction.
Guests (backgrounds)
Scarlett (30), stay-at-home mom; two kids (2.5 years and 13 months); currently pregnant (~6 weeks). Grant (31), self-employed contractor/real estate wholesaler; works “all of them” hours; manages repairs for a rental management company with ~700 doors.
Key claims
They don’t know their total debt number and have been “four-wall focused” (utilities/mortgage) instead of paying debts. They didn’t file taxes because they lacked money to pay what was owed; they rely on Grant to handle taxes while Scarlett handles day-to-day bills. They argue they’re “included” in the business differently, with trust issues from “lies by omission.” Conflict is described as frequent and escalating.
Notable examples
Two months behind on mortgage/electric during a slow period; coffee thrown during an argument; wall punching at least once every six months; Grant allegedly told Scarlett he felt “trapped” by another pregnancy; Scarlett cites lack of emotional support and Grant’s late-night texting to women for real estate rapport.

1:36I'm 30 years old. I'm Grant. I'm 31. We live in San Antonio, Texas. And this is Financial Audit. Hey, thanks for coming up to Austin. Scarlett, what do you do for living in San Antonio? I am a stay-at-home mom. Cool. What kids? How many kids? What ages? I love kids. We've got a two-and-a-half-year-old and a 13-month-old. Okay, okay. So are we married? We are. We are married. Very good. How long have we been married? Ten years. Oh, okay. Okay, you know, deciding to make kids now. That's fine. That works. Are there... What? Yeah, we decided to wait a little bit, make sure things worked out first.
2:18Well, that's okay. That's okay. I don't know what the joke was, but that's good. And are there any more coming? Yes, I am currently pregnant. Oh, okay. Well, how much? Yeah, just barely. That's what I was thinking. Yeah, just six weeks. Oh, good for you. I wouldn't have honest. I didn't even know. Well, great. You better make some money, dude. Listen, San Antonio is definitely, as far as the metros go, large metros in Texas, the cheapest by far. But please bring in some money. What do you do? I'm doing everything I can on that. Are you? Probably not. Well, let's see. I don't know. I mean, I literally stayed up till like 1230, two days ago, painting a wall.
2:57What the? Okay. Oh, he stayed up till midnight every gamer ever. What? Come on. Well, I do kind of think about it that way sometimes. I'm like, well, I sit on a video game for 14 hours grinding for some bullshit piece of gear. I might as well just be in real life painting a wall or doing shower tile or something. So you're a contractor? Pretty much, yeah. I do anything that somebody will pay me money to do, generally real estate related. What is your job? Well, I'm self-employed, but the primary way I'm making money right now is between real estate wholesaling and general contracting, basically.
3:35How often are you busy? How busy am I? Yeah. How often are you getting work? I mean, I'm pretty busy. Working in real estate, I kind of ended up running into a rental management company and they manage like 700 doors. And so I can be working as much. Okay. So you help them. Yeah. Basically they send. You fix the shit that's wrong with their rentals that they are managing. Right. Yeah. Very good. How many hours a week are you working? All of them. When I'm not sleeping, I'm working. Well, that's good. Yeah. Right. Isn't it? I mean, if there's only one worker and there's another kid coming. Okay.
4:08So give me what you're making. um look i don't the the short answer is i have look the short answer is i actually don't know uh it's somewhere in between 10 to 15. um i've been busy for like six months but i've been doing uh what are you laughing about i'm sorry yes he has been busy for six no what are you laughing about well a lot of it has been busy for free sometimes why um well are you just repairing or you're like mowing the grass, doing the hedges? No, I mean, I'll do like drywall, tile, flooring, you know, siding. Anything that is on a house I can pretty much handle. Don't tell the city, but I can also do plumbing and electric and all that sort of stuff too.
4:51Okay, well, you just did, but. Yeah, fair enough. But no, I mean. What was the issue? Well, he was doing it for free, what? Yes, well, it does take a lot of time. Okay, so part of my story is part of one of my buddy's stories. So I sell houses, and so I was like, hey. As a realtor? Well, you said wholesale. Yeah, I wholesale. What are you doing? Well, I'm a licensed realtor, but I also pretty much primarily wholesale. I don't do traditional buyer's agent, listing agent sort of transactions. I do wholesale transactions. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So I put a house under contract and sell it. What are your thoughts of his career?
5:27I actually enjoy what he's doing. You enjoy it because you never have to see him? Damn. Oh, no. Oh, absolutely not. No, I think that he loves what he is getting into doing. Yeah, I asked your opinion, not his. Yeah, that's fair. No, I think it takes up a lot of his time. But I think he's doing what he needs to do right now. Is it working? I mean, it sounds like it's been working for a few months. Yes, it's starting to work. I think it's starting to work. How long was it not working before it started to work? Six months. Well, so it's been working for six months? Probably a year and a half. No, yeah, a whole year and a half.
6:09No, actually, since he started, it hasn't been working. Who manages the money? Mostly her on the personal finance side. Okay, so how much money is coming in then, actually? And are you setting aside money for taxes as he's a contractor? Why? Well. And f*** you, I hope you don't get a refund for your kids. Oh, we probably won't. We've never gotten a refund in years. We haven't gotten a refund ever. Yeah, I don't know why that always happens. I wish. We didn't pay taxes for last year, so. Look, I'm going to pay the taxes, okay? Did you file an extension? No. Okay. Why? Because I was like, I'm going to file an extension, and then I didn't.
6:48Because I was busy. I don't know. Busy doing what? Clearly not shaving your head when you need to. Damn, that's probably fair. Yeah, I get it. Well, it is. Look behind you. That is a man who has committed, and now he looks better. See, so I've told her that. Look, it's going away. It's going to happen. Might as well just own it. I don't care. Why are you not filing your taxes? He handles the taxes. I thought you were the one who handled the personal finances. I handle the personal finances. That is personal finances. You're a self-employed person. No, he has handled the taxes. That is the personal finances.
7:20Yes. No. Well, yes. Yes. Yes. But I handle the day-to-day stuff. He handles the bigger stuff, like the taxes. I do not do the taxes. Look, the short answer of why we didn't file the taxes is because we didn't have the money to pay whatever amount they would want. Why didn't you set aside money for taxes? You should be doing estimated quarterlies, which is typically based on last year's taxes. I'm vaguely aware— And you're doing better this year than last year, so the quarterly shouldn't even be hard to hit. Yeah, I'm vaguely aware of the rules. I don't know exactly how to do that. It's all pretty basic.
7:52I mean, this is on the website, on the IRS website. When you do file, there's only—or when you click pay taxes, personal, there's like four categories. It's very easy. I use TurboTax. And it literally takes five minutes. No. I hit the TurboTax, bro. That's even more complicated. That's what I'm saying. Maybe than not doing a return, it might be better for a return, obviously. But, well, clearly you need a CPA. But more than that, doing estimated payment is so easy. Yeah, I mean, really, if I was to be like— Why would you not manage that if you manage the household finances? That makes no sense to me.
8:25Why f*** your household? Well, I don't think of it as f***ing my household. Well, you stay home all day. So maybe go on a computer. Whoa. All right. What? I understand you do not have children. That's fine. Okay. You know what every dad has ever said that goes from full-time work to stay-at-home dad? Oh, it's the easiest thing ever. Yes. Oh, I know. That's what they all say. That's what they literally all say. When they go from a workplace where they actually have to manage shit and do real shit, and then they come home and take care of kids. I'm not saying kids are the easiest park on the road, but they do find it to be a vacation compared to actual work.
9:02Yeah. That sounds about similar to some conversations we've had, but that's not well received. Okay, I'm sorry. It's not literally every minute of every day. What do you mean? My job? Having to micromanage them. You have time. Yeah, to clean the house. I think filing taxes is actually more important than cleaning the house for at least a few days. Once a year. Again, whenever we got together, he has always done the taxes. How's that working? Yeah, that's fair. If you want to manage the personal finances. No, I don't want to manage the personal finances. I want us to talk about the personal finances together.
9:42Do we? Not often. Why? What's the dynamic? What's going on? Basically, ever since we got into this, We kind of have just been, unfortunately, hands off with the financial talks because I'm too difficult to talk to. Yeah, basically, fit hits the fan, and then we were like— What? Shit hits the fan, and we were just like, okay, we're going to focus on the fire right here, right now. And, you know, so basically, whenever there's money to spend or there's money that I'm bringing in, I'm, you know, I'm like, honey, how are we doing on bills? I know what I've got to spend on my business-related expenses.
10:19She knows what we have to spend on our personal related expenses. I'm like, okay, well, then I need to book that many dollars worth of jobs and however much I have to work to make that amount of money. That's what I'm going to be doing. Okay, well, you manage personal finances, and you guys, I guess, don't really talk about it very much. Tell me how much debt you have then. Oh. Like the general ballpark? Dude, how much debt do you have? What? What? First of all, I was asking her. Personally, I don't know a number. How can you say you manage the personal finances of the house? Because in the day-to-day, I just pay the bills with the money that comes in.
11:03That is how I just manage it right now. That doesn't make any sense. Shouldn't you know your number? How can you manage it without knowing the number and where things are going? Make that make sense to me. So when it comes to the debts, both of us have just decided we don't pay those right now. We are paying just what keeps the four walls open or up. Basically, pay the utilities. You guys make too much just to be four-wall focused. So you'd like to think that, but the... Well, I would like to think that based on the number you told me you make. Unless there's a different number of which I can then change my opinion.
11:38But I'm going based on the information you gave me. Okay, well, let me kind of paint the picture for you here. So we've got a couple of what were intended to be flips that are kind of not going the way that we planned. Our personal finances come in in the ballpark of like five a month,$5 ,000 of outgo. And then we've got another basically five for one of the three houses that we've got to spend to just keep the mortgage paid. and then I've got a guy that I've got to pay to help me with the contracting business and we've got MLS dues. What the f*** is this answer? What's the question? What are you telling me?
12:23You're like, why can't I pay my bills? It's because the outgo is a large amount of money. So here recently we've been making enough to scratch by, but there was a pretty good period there where we were like two months behind on the mortgage, two months behind on the electric, because we were just focused on getting these houses finished and getting these projects done, and that wasn't necessarily income-generating activity. So I've kind of put the income-generating activity on the forefront now, and now that I've put the pedal to the metal, we're actually making the money. It's not about you, you f***ing...
12:59I don't understand why you are the one answering the question of she's the one managing the finances, Why is she four-wall focused with this much money coming in? That's what, okay, so he gives me the money for what we - And you set none aside for taxes, even though you manage the finances. Sure, he might file, but isn't managing setting aside money for taxes?
13:24I mean, we didn't ever discuss that exactly. So when it comes to that, I actually, I guess I just assumed that that would be part of the business side. I'm just, okay, let me just cut you off. What is, I want to understand more so the dynamic. The dynamic is confusing. Well, unconfuse it to me. I need to understand how this household operates, how you guys actually communicate more. He tells me what goes on in the business. Okay, so you're understanding what's going on in the business. Right. Yes. Okay, I don't even know why you would need to know that specifically. I'm just talking about your household finances.
14:04But go on, continue. Again, he just gives me the money. We put the money. And I'm asking how you communicate. Please answer the question. How do we communicate? I guess we don't. Yeah, I mean, we kind of haven't been doing a whole lot of finance talks here recently. No. Because it's just been. Since when then? Well, I'd say. Since he got into real estate probably. Yeah, since I got into real estate, things have just been so. Which was six months. Well, I've been, I was doing, like I was working for a whole. Well, if things have gotten harder, why does that mean we communicate less? Good question.
14:38Okay, let's try to have an answer because you're on a podcast. Well, fair enough. I mean, the reason why is because basically I'm like, she wants to know where are we going? What's the plan? How are we getting out of this? I'm saying, honey, I don't know right now. Right now we're focused on getting these projects done because they are. That's you in the business, dude. I don't give a f*** about that. I'm asking your personal finances. You keep answering a question that wasn't asked. How does things getting more complicated mean you guys do not talk about the money in the house? Oh, we have projects going on.
15:11F*** your projects. I don't give a f***. Why aren't you guys talking about the money in the house? That's a project. It sure is. It sure is. So let's try to answer that question. Well, I think the short answer to that question is I've basically been putting business-related stuff in. Cool. Good for you. But why isn't she then? When I bring it up, it's nagging. There we go. Something. An actual answer. You guys are like, it's... I could use a different word, but I'm not going to. Well, what's the other word? Bitching. Okay, yeah, real controversial word. No one uses that. Well, hmm. No, no, I get it.
15:57It's just like, what, you can't say it? It's a trigger word. which she hates when I say that, which to be fair, I don't hate that too. I get it. You shouldn't say it. I'm just surprised that she couldn't say it. I'll trigger myself. Okay, so what happens? He says you're bitching. What is that? What's going on? If I bring something up, it's too difficult for him to talk about because I'm too difficult to talk to about it. Oh, wait, wait. Bald. Damn. What's the issue? Why is he being such a pathetic little? You can't handle a dynamic in a marriage? can't handle being a husband. Shit's hard, bro.
16:33No. Are you married? I am with a long-term lady. We don't have babies, but I run a business that is much more stressful and complicated than yours. Fair enough. Yeah, but you also have a lot more help. But to be fair, it is. Well, that's because of the business as well. But trust me, managing people is much more stressful than doing it myself. Cutting tile and running a jackhammer. Yeah, that's physical labor. Have you ever managed people? They're drama. Drama. Oh my goodness, it's 10 times harder. Yeah, I've done a little bit of that, but yeah, it is harder. I love them, but I hate it. Yeah. But I love it, but I hate it.
17:10That's life. So? We have my poor widow wife, it's hard. So you can't talk to your f***ing wife? Doesn't that make it harder? You know, in some ways it does, in some ways it doesn't. I would say it does. Where's the doesn't? It doesn't have to deal with it. Well, is that true? Doesn't it just build? It does. Yeah. It does. It kind of has seemed to be that way. But I mean, look, here's my thoughts. I was like, honey, you tell me what I need to make, and I'm going to go do that. But I also know that I've got to make X amount for my other business-related stuff. And so I need to work as much as that requires, which, you know, I don't have a blue collar, you know.
17:50I don't have a degree or whatever. Jesus, guy. Look, so if I'm going to make all this money and pay all these bills, I'm going to have to work an exorbitant amount of time to do that. No one's saying you don't. You're answering a different question. You can still talk to her. You see how this guy just like, don't tell me about it. Well, I do get that. Holy shit. I do get that comment fairly regularly. All I'm saying is that whenever I'm busting my ass all day and I come home, I'm like, hey, can we not? Yeah, that's fair. But you got to deal with it at some point. That's fair. You have kids. It's not a joke anymore.
18:24We're not just having fun. It's not just about you. Yes, you have to take care of the business. But you chose to do that. You could also be doing a nine to five. So am I having sympathy for someone who chose to be an entrepreneur? No, you made that choice. Well, that's fair. It just feels like we, look, best laid plans, mice and men, and whatever. We had a good idea going into it, and then it's turned into an absolute. You chose to do this. You could go get a job, dude. You can work for another contractor. Be the employee. That's annoying. One of these days, that would be nice. But if I tried to just change trajectory.
18:57You can do that now. Listen, you're nagging. What is it like, though? Because maybe it is bad. Maybe it is bad because dude's tired. He's coming home. Fair enough. I don't have a sympathy for his job. But if you're like, Ew, bitch. Then, yeah, I mean, that's going to be annoying. Yeah, that is annoying. No, so I don't do that. Does she do that? She kind of does that. Oh. All right. Okay. I don't do that. I do try to bring things up in a manner that will not trigger him, but no matter what. Trigger him? Yeah, okay, yeah. What does trigger him? What does trigger him? What does he beat the wife and kids?
19:35No, just the wall. Really? Are you wall punching? Not often. Buddy, that's fucked up. Look, I know. I did as a teenager, but who the fuck is punching walls at 31? That's fair. I agree. Yes, that's fair. I'm glad you say everything is fair, but yet you are the one who does it. How often does he punch a wall? At least once every six months, I'd say. That's crazy. That's crazy. What led him to do it last time? What was the conversation? That's a good question. Oh, I'm glad it's a good question. I bet it was about... I bet it was about... It wasn't about finances, I can tell you that. What was it about?
20:15Because I'm working too much and our relationship is stressed because I'm working too much. You said you had no issue. You said you had no issue. Why are you fighting about working so much? Okay, then I am going to be on bro's side. If he's like working a lot and then his wife is like, why are you working so much? But he has to work that much to pay the bills. Because taking care of the kids is hard and I'm not helping her enough. That's all you do. Stop being a crybaby. I have asked for help. I've asked to feel like. But bro's trying to pay the bills. I understand. But if I do bring up, hey, I would like some support as a teammate.
20:50I would like to feel like we're on the same team. That's usually how I bring up conversations. He is playing his position by making sure the roof is over your head. I understand that. Not if you punch the wall that many times. Well, okay. I've said that I don't really feel like, yeah, that we communicate that well about everything. Why? Why else doesn't he feel like a partner? Um, I've asked him to be able to just talk to me about what the plan is here and there. Just to feel safe that we're going in the right direction. In what way? I mean, I mainly bring up like relationally. What's going on?
21:27It's like pulling teeth with you, I swear, dude. Oh, man. I'll answer a question for you because you guys can answer questions. So why'd you throw the coffee out the window? Because of some relational issue that I can't define. No, um, I, a lot of the time, again, when I just, I just try to bring up that I don't feel like I'm included in, yeah, no, I know, in our relationship, I don't. In what way?
Read the full transcript
24:03I feel like I'm replaceable. This is exactly my question. I am literally like, I do not know what the question is here. Okay, so you can't answer questions because you go around them. You answer a different question. You can't answer questions because you just can't talk. I have tried to address problems. Well, let's try to address it now. Okay, yes. Give me something. I have tried to address problems in our relationship. Wonderful. Give me something. Okay. I don't like when he brings up that he feels that I'm a terrible teammate. Oh, my gosh. Again, can we define what the f*** that is? I have the most generic thing being thrown out.
24:40Please, why is someone not a good teammate? What are they doing besides throwing coffee? Bro, these are my exact questions. Good, congratulations. Shut the f*** up and answer it then. I'm like, what the f*** is this question? Good, answer the question. I don't know. You want to know what it means to be a good teammate? No, she said you say she's not a good teammate. Oh, well, for me, I'm like, honey, I'm out here trying to play quarterback and you're trying to play receiver and you're saying, I don't feel included in your business. I don't feel included in your life. I say, honey. Okay, so your issue is not being included in the business.
25:07Not necessarily the business. In my life. In our life. Oh, my God. How are you? Is he not a good teammate? Is what you, you said he's not a good teammate. How? He has told me that I'm not a good teammate. What is your issue you have with him? Not just something, he has an issue with you. What is the issues that you, what made you throw out the coffee? Probably something about how I don't include her enough in my life or something and I'm like, okay. So is that true? He doesn't include you enough in his life. I don't feel very included in his life. Okay. Yes. Because he's working all the time. Yes.
25:44Okay. So the solution is. So the solution was that he brought up to me when we went into this entire venture that we would be doing this together. Doing the business together? Yeah. How would you be participating? I mean, I've done QuickBooks before. I've been in the finance. Girl, you can't do the QuickBooks in your own house. I don't get the, okay. Yeah, I don't really get the money for that. What? You just said he gives you the money. Yes. Now. Now he does. Okay. Now he gives me the money. Okay, so you've been included then. Now. This is my exact comment. But not to what the extent you want.
26:21You want more. so the initial just i feel like we're missing a critical piece of the puzzle well let's give me that piece you yeah you you you're kind of reading this is like all i do is contracting we have three flips and two of them have absolutely gone terribly yeah but you chose to do that right so so the the goal was initially okay honey here's going to be the great story we're gonna we're gonna buy these houses we're gonna make this money we're gonna you're gonna help me work on the houses you have to say whatever i did yes so i'm like okay we're gonna go into this i mean your biggest complaint to the producers is how you don't feel heard how can you not feel heard if honestly one of the biggest business decisions you were very much heard bro thank you me welcome for now yes okay in the business great in the relationship wait didn't she just say she her biggest complaint is not being included in the business?
27:18No. No. Yes, it was. Bring me back. I don't feel very included in his life. Okay. Yes. Because he's working all the time. Yes. So the solution is? So the solution was that he brought up to me when we went into this entire venture that we would be doing this together. Okay. Well, probably then. Stay on story. Your story changes. So, okay. Go on. Go on. Sure. Where's the issue? Okay. I would like for us to be able to do both together, the relationship and the business together as a family. That's a horrible idea. Is it? Yes. Oh, okay. Do things not work that way? It's a horrendous idea. Okay. Keep your relationship separate from the business.
28:02Why would you want to integrate that? I've had that exact question before. I'm like, honey, what do you want to know about it? I'm happy to tell you whatever you want to know about the business, but it's not like you're involved in the doing. Yeah, but she wants to be. We have a clear disagreement there. You told me I would be. And I want you to be however you can, but it's not like you— These people. What the— Look, no, I want you to be involved as much as you can, but look, you hardly have time to take care of the kids or take care of the house, much less be involved in— I don't—yeah, that's between her and God.
28:33But, you know, I want you to be involved as much as you can be. But it seems like you're having a hard enough time with just the day-to-day life operations that I don't feel like there's any room for you to be stretched any further to help me on my side. That's why I've got to do it all myself. It's just the crazy thing is this gets pushed to such an extreme where she's throwing a coffee, you punch a wall, and she says the next time she's going to drive into the ditch. Like, that was her words. But what caused that? I feel like I'm barely scratching the surface of something you are not allowing, either not allowing to be said or just can't.
29:10I don't know, guys. What the fuck is happening? I mean. She has the face of a literal murderer right now. What is it? What is it? What are you not saying? Why would you drive into the ditch next time? Oh, well, we'll sit there and we're going to be on a road trip and arguing about something or other. About something or other. What's the something or other? Is it just her interaction in the business? Is that really the only issue? Then what? She feels disconnected, and that makes her feel insecure. Why are you disconnected, and why are you insecure? Why do you feel disconnected? This is my exact question.
29:54I'm like, honey, I'm trying to do everything I can to include you. No offense, not to just take the mirror inside, but you're kind of doing the classic annoying woman thing. Or you have a problem, yeah, touch your leg, that's really going to help. Or you have a problem and then you can't express it. Well. So it's impossible to solve because it's just feelings. Right. So when it comes to a woman's intuition, we do very... Can we just talk like real world and not just like a feeling though? But go ahead. Go ahead. Women's a tradition. Let me hear. They can pick up when they've been lied to. And yeah, he has lied to me a lot.
30:40He lies by omission. He lies by he forgot this. He forgot that. A lot of details get left out. So a lot of trust has been broken in our relationship, especially over the past 10 years. Can I get some examples? Tell me. I mean, I guess. I want to be on your side. I'm a girl's girl, but you're so far horrible at defining anything and answering questions. But here's a good chance to. Give me these examples. Okay, so once he got into real estate, he kind of, I guess, got it into his head that he doesn't really have to consider his wife at home. He gets to go and go to the bar and drink and not tell me.
31:27Okay, that's not a business, asshole. Okay, with a stay-at-home mom at home, there was one day I was pregnant. I had a very hard day with my one-year-old. He choked on a blueberry, and I also had to get an oil change. I think he deserves to die at that point. If you're almost losing life on a blueberry, I think that's his natural selection. Yeah, I mean, I'm glad he didn't, to be clear. But if someone's losing it on like the softest berry you can get, I think that's like nature saying, okay, you're not meant to be here. He was one. Yeah. I mean, he handled that blueberry like a champ. That's all I'm saying.
32:01Clearly not if he was choking on it. He's alive. He's fine. I want to be very clear. I'm glad he's alive. I'm just saying a blueberry out of all things. All right. Okay. Yeah, when you have kids, you just, you'll make sure you squish it. Don't, it was a squished up blueberry. You deserve that. See you on the other side. Babies will choke on water, bro. These things are just trying to die. I choke on water, but I'm. Well, I feel that. Go on. So— I mean, actually, I will pause. Yeah, what the— Like, I was on your side. If you're working to pay for the roof over the head, sure. But if you're—dude, if you're just going to the bar when she's struggling, she's pregnant, she's trying to take care of the kids, like, what the is wrong with you?
32:40Yeah. You're an asshole. Yeah, and he came home drunk, and he wanted me to be—he just wanted me to be, like, the gracious wife that just accepts him home. I'm sorry you drank so much or something. Let him sleep it off. and then we would talk about it in the morning. I'm not that type of person. I get really fucking angry really fast. Yeah, I mean, it's probably not the most productive time to have a conversation is when the dude's, you know, pastured. Yeah, that was a bad idea, too. How many holes were punched into the wall that evening? None. Was he missed? Okay. Yeah, that was diffused, thankfully.
33:19And then there was another time that I was sick, also pregnant with my one-year-old at home. He was like, you're going to have to figure it out. Well, why? What was being done that day? What was he doing that day where he was like, you have to figure it out? Was it a job that he had to do or was he going to the bar with the boys? Oh, he didn't go to the bar with the boys. Okay, okay. He did go to work. Well, okay. Well, I mean, that makes sense. Again, it's not. Oh, well, we could talk about the night. You have to go deeper than that. It's not that. Go deeper. That's the point of a conversation.
33:52I've been waiting. Okay, great. Well, listen, it's the pattern underneath to where he's like, no, I took you into full consideration. I knew you'd be mad, and I did it anyway. That is his logic when it comes to our relationship. But, I mean, you still f***ed up in that moment. Yeah, definitely asshole move, but also one time ever. You know, I never do anything. All I do is work. I literally do nothing but work. I mean, you kind of hurt with the words. I mean, you told her just like a week ago or something that you feel trapped by having another kid. Like, what the f*** is that? That's crazy to tell your pregnant wife.
34:27What are we doing? Well, kids are home. Like, yeah, I think that would stick in the back of my mind, probably for half as long as a woman, but even still, it would stick there for a second at least. Yeah, I mean, it's been a little time. That's crazy. How'd that make you feel? Pretty terrified. Pretty terrified that, yeah, that the baby would just be born, and I don't know. Why do you, what the f*** was happening? Why was that said? Why was that brought up? Why was that brought up? I probably just told him, I usually just bring up my feelings. I will just bring up my feelings, but that's bitching.
35:02Yeah, it is really annoying when they bring up their feelings. All right, well, you know. I have to be honest. It is like, why are we bringing up feelings when it's just like, I wish. Because I want to solve issues. But if it's just something that's purely emotional based and there's not anything like real world logical about it, it is actually quite difficult, I'll be honest. But when it comes to a relationship, that's how you. It is something you have to deal with. I know. All right. I literally have no idea what that means in real life. I have a very like problem, solve it. Tell me what I need to do.
35:33I'll go do that. How can I help? Yeah, but the problem would be you feel trapped by her having another baby. Like that is like, what the? That's crazy. That's the problem. Yeah, well, again, you got to take the context into consideration because our relationship has been a little touch and go for the past probably six months to a year. Why? In what way? Well, I mean— What does that mean? Because we're pregnant and we have two kids. What does that mean? Yeah, well, the pregnancy was kind of— I mean, it's not like we were doing everything we could to avoid that, obviously. I mean, I know how it happens, but, you know, it wasn't really part of the plan.
36:08And, you know, we were kind of—you know, it seems like every other day, you know, She's like, well, get the f*** out. Or I'm like, well, then leave.
36:19What the f***? Why blow up, guys? Look, I'm not proud of it, but it's just one of those things. Right now, things are extremely hard, and all I get is I'm busting my ass working all day long. This is clearly not the lifestyle that is okay for her, though. Neither of us would have been. Then what are we doing? Go get a f***ing job, dude. Okay, look, how am I supposed to quit everything I'm doing right now? I would be happy. You'll buy for a job, get accepted, and quit. Okay, so I have a family loan on a house. I have a— Family loan on the house? Yeah, so I've got— Well, you preferably get the other job to get money.
36:56Okay, so— Without having to spend money on your current job, which is kind of your issue, and I highly doubt you balance those books very well. Yeah, well, it's all— If at all. Yeah, probably. Exactly, so— That's kind of why I want it. You bring 10 to 15 home a month, doubt. But the reality is, I mean, he doesn't give that emotional support, does he? No. But, I mean, she was looking over your shoulder the other day. She saw you giving emotional support to another woman. And that f***ed with her. Yeah, that did. That f***ed with her. He knows that. It was a business deal, but you were telling her, I hope you feel better.
37:28I hope you feel better. And she saw those messages. She felt like she's been stabbed in the chest, according to her word. And the moment she confronted you, You just told her she was being a controlling bitch. So, like, what the fuck? Yeah, that's, look, that is pretty fucked up. But to be fair, again, I'm... To be fair, let's see. Look, it's way easier for me to have, like, emotional distance and, like, be polite to strangers than it is to... Okay, well, that's weird. Comfort your pregnant wife. Oh, okay, that's... That's... I was kind of with you for a second, but that's weird. Look, I know it's weird.
38:01Look, I don't know... No, you might just be a bad partner. Well, I definitely haven't been the best partner, and I'm working on being better, but you're not. Is he? What's his working? This just happened. You literally told her like a week ago that you feel trapped by her being pregnant. What the f***? That's working on being a better partner? Punching a home on the wall two months ago is better than being a partner? What the f*** are you talking about? It's a roller coaster sometimes. It's a roller coaster right now. So he's better for like two weeks. Gotcha. Okay, great. What went through your head when you saw that?
38:30He's lucky I didn't break that phone too. but oh so you guys are like violent kind of yeah oh yeah that's insane a little bit I don't love it I don't love it oh I would think so what has happened there oh that was a long time ago I can't okay yeah you broke a phone but he punches walls and she punches walls and oh you punch walls too this is gonna be this is great for your kids growing up it was before kids I have not punched I have not punched walls since kids you beat the f*** out of the mesquite tree that one time though yeah yeah that's true Blasting a tree, that's crazy. Yeah, it was kind of f***ed up for her.
39:05It was hormonal rage. That was hormonal rage. Absolutely. Hormonal rage is kind of the overarching theme of this story, I think, but maybe that's just my perspective. Well, when she was pregnant for the second time, she was telling us you're treating like complete shit, her second pregnancy. And I know she's worried now for this third pregnancy that you're going to treat her like shit again. How is he treating you like shit? Because that's what you said, but I need to know how. Now or back then? No, the second pregnancy. The second pregnancy, yeah. It was a lot of lack of emotional support. What does that mean?
39:37So that means— To you? No, no, no. I'm giving you the chance to tell it. Define it. Not coming at me whenever I have a bad day, too. Like, am I allowed— Okay, why weren't you supporting her? Why are you supporting random women on the phone, not her? Because his day was harder. To be fair— His day was harder? He says that? He says, I can't support you because my day was harder? He has told me, there's no way you're as tired as I am. even though I breastfeed two children, I take care of a house, which I get it, I know, but I'm on my feet all day. I do exercise. No, I mean, yes. No, your job's not easy.
40:16I'm just, you know, comparing it, but even still, it doesn't matter. I mean, compared to my girl, of course I do like a million times harder, but I emotionally support her when needed. I don't tell her, sorry, my day was harder, bitch. Look, how can we, especially when she's pregnant, How can we do that? Okay, because I'll spend an hour being as sweet as I possibly can. Is that true? Being as nice as I possibly can. And then it's like deflection, deflection. What? Say, say. What? Because as soon as I say something, it is immediately and just then about you. I think it's immediately about solving the problem.
40:54Help me understand. And then she's like, I just want to be heard. What does that mean? Listen. just listen I do listen and I'm like okay so why are you telling me this you want me to do something about it because I'm happy to do whatever that is and then after about an hour of going through this marathon of trying to be sweet and whatever is it like a multi-hour thing because that does become hard sometimes it becomes multi-hour things because yes because immediately as soon as I say something it just gets shut down Shut down, i.e., what can I do to fix that? And I will do that right now. And it's like, I don't want you to fix that.
41:36Yes, he will say, what can I do to fix it? And I'm like, actually, you won't ask, what can I do to fix it? It will just be, try to fix it immediately. Well, it is difficult to be like, here's a big problem, and just let it just be a problem. If you can't fix it, then we're just letting it be a problem. No, if it's just me saying, oh, I'm tired today. Like, I can't bring that up anymore. Oh, okay. I can't bring that up anymore because it's just, it's. Really? Yeah. Oh, that's crazy. She can't bring up that she's tired? She is being mother all day. That is tiring. Look, I'm not even sure that's true.
42:10I'm sure that's how it feels and blah, blah, blah. But I'm happy to provide all the emotional support I can. But if it's just like pouring water into a bucket with no bottom, it's just like, what am I doing here? I got to do something productive now, you know? Well, it's not productive always calling her a miserable person. You call her miserable constantly. There are holes in the bucket because you shot the bucket. Yeah, if you're just sitting there like, it's a trap that you're fighting. You're a miserable person. You broke the bucket. Yeah, dude. You're just blasting holes in it. I mean, I think you kind of caused that.
42:46Maybe so. That's entirely possible. I mean, in what way does it make sense to just sit there and be like, you're a miserable person? What does that solve? If you're a problem solver, what problem does that solve? I mean, we're kind of eliminating the eight years of doing everything I can to make her happy. Is that true? Setting the stage. Did he try for eight years perfectly doing great to make you happy? Perfectly is a strong word. Not perfectly, but he did. He was just trying, trying, trying. There was no issues. No. This has been the accumulation of 10 years of the same thing. And we are just now trying to fix it.
43:20And what is that thing? the yeah you're a miserable person or like you're crazy you're overreacting crazy he says there just calls you crazy if i bring up feelings yeah he'll be like you're overreacting about that whenever i ask for like the emotional support what was like the most recent thing the most recent thing don't believe there was a most recent thing about him saying that i was crazy he has been trying he has been working pretty hard to listen in the past my therapist told me oh two weeks well that does nothing. I need to see something for like three months. Anyone can change anything for a temporary...
43:57That means nothing to me. So before that then... Yeah, you told me I was overreacting whenever... I don't know. I don't like it whenever you give your number to random women. Why are you giving your... It's for rapport. It's for building rapport, he tells me. Who's building rapport with random women. Oh, for real estate. All right. Let's circle back around, okay? Whenever I'm going to a real estate meetup and there's people who have, you know, listings that need to have houses worked on, they need to have work done on these listings to get them market ready. You hand out business. Did you break out about this every time?
44:39I don't know about it. Now, here's the thing. You go and you say... Well, I mean, I think it's fair to hand out business cards and stuff. No, yeah. No, yeah. What's the issue? If a female has business that I need to do, I shouldn't do it. You text them at 4 a.m. Why are you texting them at 4 a.m.? Okay, so there's... Okay, dude, that's weird. Look, I get what you're saying here. But look... What else is there to say? 4 a.m. is weird. I agree. Okay, so look... Why do you do it? I'm glad you agree. Thank you. It makes me feel good. Why do you do it? Because I sell investment real estate... At 4 a.m.?
45:18If the, if, okay. The person that I always text. Only to the women, does he text the men at 4 a.m.? I don't know. I don't care. I don't. It depends on the person's time zone on where they're at. It sounded like you cared. If we don't care, we can move on. She definitely cares. What the are we talking about? Okay. So this person lives in Israel. He could only have gotten that idea from Benjamin Netanyahu. Before we get back to this mess, quick word from today's sponsor. Look, it's August. 48:22What? That was the one he was giving emotional support to. Oh, that's weird. See, buddy, you win me, you lose me. You win me, you lose me. I win me and I lose me too. I'm like, look, I'm just trying to - You're trying to get a little IDF princess? Damn. No, I'm trying to sell houses and so you have to talk to people. To an Israeli? Oh, I've sold several to Israeli people. There's a lot of Israeli investors in San Antonio, Fort Worth, and Austin. They're buying the shit out of houses over here. Yeah. Okay. Okay. I also text the other Israeli people at 4 in the morning or at 9 o 'clock at night.
48:58No. Saying that you hope that they feel better? Okay. Well, come on. I've texted that to many a people. Right. Was she sick? Yeah. She was sick, and there was— That's not that crazy. Okay, you're being a crazy bitch. Okay. I'm sorry. I was sick and pregnant at the same time, and he told me to get over it. He told me to get over it. Okay, well, that's a dick move. That doesn't mean he can't also say that to someone else. No, he totally can. But withholding it from his wife is fucking rude. Why would you tell your pregnant wife to just get over it? I feel like that's a gross oversimplification. I'm like, honey, I've got to go to work, so I can't help you.
49:33You're going to have to do it. You're going to have to figure it out. You're going to have to get over it. I can't stop. I can't not go to work just because you're feeling bad. Yeah, but there are words. It's just right words. It's like say you're sorry and you feel bad. And like, yeah, don't say that. Get over it. Or. Let's start from the hour preceding where I'm like, I'm sorry, honey. Absolutely not. Hope you feel better. What can I do to help? How can I support you? Is every conversation a multi-hour conversation? Bro. No. Bro. It is literally like. Okay, now how frequently? Okay, so since I stopped doing them, I just said I'm not going to do that anymore.
50:09Okay, before that. How frequently? Three or four times a week we'll spend four or five hours. Jeez, how have you guys stayed together for that many years? I couldn't do that. Yeah, it's very difficult, but we promise forever, and we've got two kids, and so there's not really an option. Yeah, before the kids then. Like that's insane. I'm sorry. Three to four times a week you do. At some point the conversation is you do need to learn how to deal with your emotions in a healthy way. Oh, no, I can do that. Are you sure? If we're having multi-hour conversations four to five times a week, that does become a on you type of situation at some point.
50:43You need to take some kind of accountability and learn how to deal with your shit. And that's not always someone else's problem. Right. So whenever I do bring up relationship issues, like things that he has told me in the past to my face, yes, they are wounds. No, he never says sorry. He says, I'm sorry you feel that way. He doesn't say, I'm sorry for the words you've said. You've said some horrible words. Why haven't you apologized? We're getting... I think I've apologized for all of them at least a thousand times each week. Oh, we're so disconnected. Oh, my God. Bro. Yes, I know. If you spend hundreds of hours having these marathon argument conversations about our relationship, there's no way I haven't touched on every single pain point over the course of 10 years at least 10 times.
51:30How do these conversations revolve? Your apologies are just, I'm sorry you feel that way. How do these? Is that true? Yes. Probably. Oh, my God. That's not going to work. How do these conversations resolve? They don't. Holes in the wall. Here's how the conversation typically goes. I'm like, honey, I have to go to work. It's 9 o 'clock in the morning. And then she wants to talk until it's about 1 o 'clock. And I'm like, honey, I'm leaving. That's insane. I am leaving now. That's insane. And so I just leave the house. I'm like, where is the end of this conversation? It's like a roller coaster of we're getting close to a solution, and then it's emotional tunnel again.
52:12So she cries a lot. She does. And so I'm like, okay. I have stopped crying in front of you. It's difficult. And so then I'm like, nothing's going to help. I'm just going to go to work now, because at least there I can pay the bills. Because whenever I spend all this time talking, I'm not doing. Do you guys enjoy time around each other? I think so. Yeah. Wait, look. Four times a week, and it's multi-hour conversations? Bro, toxic relationships are kind of fire. I've got to be honest with you. Oh, my God. But where's the good time? If you're working all the time, four times a week, we're having multi-hour conversations, where's the time for the— Where's the good part?
52:45Where does it exist? Mathematically. Mathematically, that's a good question. But I will say that the quality outweighs the quantity. But where? Where's the quality? I'll be painting the wall. Where does it happen? She'll call me and tell me about her feelings, and then we'll talk about it for a minute, and I'm getting better at making her feel better now. And so then we have a good 30-minute conversation. Okay, why are you calling him during work? Let the man f***ing work, dude. What's wrong with you? Come on. Because he won't be home for me to talk to him, I guess. Yeah, we do got to solve that issue.
53:21You got to just get a job, dude. The clear this is not working. This is not working. I mean, you've strictly, and I don't think you're ever going to be involved in the business. He said to our producer, if you're an employee, he would fire you. Yes, he has said that before. But as a wife. Have we ever talked about divorce? Oh, yeah. A couple of times this week. I've seen a lawyer. Really? Mm-hmm. When? A couple weeks ago. I have not filed. I do not want to file. Not going to file. Well, seeing a lawyer is a big step. Yeah, it paints you a picture of what the reality is. How does that make it? Did you know?
54:03No. No. I lied to him. This is your first time hearing about this? No. I heard about it the other day in an argument, but... And your thoughts? I'm like, do whatever you want. I can't make you feel better. Oh, my. You guys are not compatible. How the f*** did you guys produce a child? Three.
54:30Dump the gasoline. She goes and sees a lawyer for divorce and you say, do whatever you want? What the f***? Here's my perspective. I'm working my ass off to try and help her feel better. I'm like, honey, how can I make you feel more connected? How can I love you more? How can I love you better? I do the 10, 20 things that she lays out. Was that before or after figuring out you were pregnant? The lawyer. That was before. Jeez. What made you go see this lawyer? I kind of had to face the reality of, yeah, what are we looking at with our marriage? What was the breaking point, though? What triggered?
55:10I don't know. I had had enough with the things that he'd said to me. yeah, a lot of the things that he said has kind of just, like, even if I am, whatever, a miserable person to be around, I feel like if he feels that way, he should leave. I don't feel like, like, why would you just destroy the person that you say that you love and then expect them to stick around? So what happened? I just, I... What the conversation, what did you guys talk about? There was no conversation about it. You met a lawyer. Oh, I'm sorry. You're asking about the lawyer conversation? She told me, she painted a picture.
55:48She's like, well, if you're going to be a single mom, you got to, you know, obviously get a job and do this and do that. So what prevented you from going forward was literally just the fear of what it looked like on the other side? No, no, I don't want that for my life. Yeah, that. Yeah, that's not fear. Just the consequences of it, but not the actual staying with him part isn't what prevented you. Oh, well, I guess. No, that's not true. No, I will. What? Based on everything you just said, the words you just said, the single mom, the struggle, that's what you don't want. No, that's what she told me.
56:19She didn't say, oh, well, here's the happy picture of, I'm telling you what she told me. Exactly. And you're afraid of that more than you want to actually say. No, I'm telling you that that's what she told me. For me, yes, I had to weigh my options. I had to weigh my options. And you would prefer staying with him over the consequences of all that. Yes, I would prefer staying with him over the consequences. That's crazy. That doesn't mean you actually want to stay with him. No, I do want to stay with him. But you met a divorce lawyer two weeks ago. It's over here. This is the good side and this is the part I don't want.
56:49We usually don't want to stay with people we met a divorce lawyer for two weeks ago. Yeah, that's— I know you just found out you're pregnant. That wouldn't—no, that wouldn't— Oh, come on. That wouldn't keep me. I am staying because of him. That's crazy. Two weeks ago? Sure. Uh-huh. Guys, what do we think our combined household financial score is zero to ten? zero being the worst, 10 being the best. Negative one. Yeah, I was about to say negative 1 ,000. 57:56Dollarwise.com or just download it in the app store or click the link below. Okay, I mean, let's get a bigger picture of what's actually going on on the number side. I don't know, if you guys can't communicate about really the most simple things, I don't know how the f*** you're going to communicate about this. And this is one of the leading causes for divorce in this country. You've already met a divorce lawyer. It's like doom and gloom is what I am seeing now. But let's try to get the full picture together with the numbers side of things. Barclays card, what's going on? Closed account. That's all I know.
58:28Who's is it? It was kind of mine. It's a shared account. What was it for? Well, initially, who knows? I don't know why we got it. We just kept it for a while. What did you spend it on? Because you're at$16 ,808.06. What's gone down somewhere? Oh, yeah, I was about to say that. I went down. That's down? Yeah, yeah. I mean, I think we had about. You didn't even know? Like 22, I think, is total. It's just on a payment plan. Yeah, guys. Yeah, basically all that got racked up on, like, staying in hotels. You opened this card for your honeymoon to Belize. Well, we opened it whenever we went on our honeymoon to Belize.
59:05That's crazy. But we were just like, eh, they'll give us the credit line. Our credit score was fine, whatever. And then all this real estate shit started blowing up in our face. And so. Okay, so how's it blown up? Tell me. So we bought our first flip in San Angelo. And that one, I mean, I could go into detail as much as you want. But like after the contractor screws us and after the. Why aren't you doing the flip yourself? So I didn't get my contracting license until after this contractor screwed me on two houses. And then I was like, I can't rely on people to do shit for me anymore. I'm not buying a house for someone else to flip it.
59:48Okay. I mean, it's a pretty normal scenario where an investor buys the house and then you hire a contractor to do the work. Yeah, but you don't have like a big flipping agency. If you're just starting off, do the flip yourself. Well, let's... Okay, so the contractor f***ed you, I guess. Yeah, and so... I have the link, let's see. Yeah, that one we ended up having to spend$8 ,000 to sell it. You didn't sell it, though. Yeah, we had to bring— Did you break even? Did you lose? How much did you lose? I mean, it's a nice little single family. Well, everything on all of those cards plus the$8 ,000 is about what we lost on that house.
1:00:22So tens of thousands. Tens of thousands. How? And yet you said, yes, let's go do a second one? We started the second one before that one was a shift. Before you even prove the concept. Yeah. Yeah, you cope laugh your way through that. Yeah, f*** is right. Brother, okay. Well, someone's enjoying it at a discount. Yeah, not a bad house, not a bad job it looks like. Okay, so what? What happened with the second one then? Second one was closing. I guess the second one would be the Fort Worth house. That one, kind of part of the wholesaling thing, you run into deals, you know, and typically you're trying to resell them.
1:01:02Well, I brought it to my sister, and my sister was like, yeah, we're going to flip that one too. This is the Fort Worth house? That's the Fort Worth house. Something not even close to you. Yeah, but she's local to the Fort Worth market. She's been doing the same kind of real estate wholesaling stuff for a long time, and she was pretty successful at it. So she says, hey, I've got a contractor. I've got a lender. We can get this done. We'll make all this money. It's a really nice house. Yeah, I mean, we bought it for— Pre-remodel is actually kind of nice, but— Well, it had a bunch of rod. It had a bad roof.
1:01:34We had to redo it pretty soon. It's okay. But how much did you put into it? We ended up putting in about$200, I think, after all was said and done. Yeah, it's not a cheap house. That's the made of value,$800,$18 ,000. We had an appraisal for$900. The initial plan was we would sell it. So break even, lose gain, what? We're probably getting foreclosed on that one. Oh, it's not done? It's done. The sell's not done? It's done. It's on market. Are you getting foreclosed then? Oh, no, but the sale's not done. The sale's not done. It hasn't sold. So it's on market. We've got a hard one. For what? On market for what?
1:02:08It's on market for, I think we are at$835. Okay, well, it's already overvalued, estimated online. Okay, well, what did you buy it for? We bought it for$515. What did you put into it? $200. Okay. I'm just trying to get it out of a break-even instead of foreclose. Right. So this house, it's on essentially a private money loan with deferred payments. So the monthly payments accrue to the payoff. Dude, you're getting like, you're like repeating. It's not as crazy as Ramsey, but you're kind of Ramsey-ing yourself. Yeah. Yeah, I mean, I feel like. I know what you're putting down. Yeah, I feel like. So why do you think it's going to be foreclosed on?
1:02:52Are people seeing it? So that one, very similar story. People coming to view the house saying the work on the house is shitty. Yeah. So it looks nice on a picture, but the work is shitty in person. Yeah, whenever you go and look at the details. You didn't do this yourself? No, I didn't do that myself. What's the issues? He did the floors. The floors are great. I refinished the floors and I painted the walls. What's the issues? People are complaining about it. Towel work is bad. The drywall work is bad. The windows are bad. The kitchen layout is too small and doesn't work. Really? Yeah, people didn't like the location of the island, so on and so forth.
1:03:25Oh, no shit. Wow, that's unfortunate. Yeah, so basically - So no one's buying it, no offers? No offers. Not even under? No, every showing we've had has been like the most dismal feedback. Okay, so foreclosure's coming. Yeah, for sure. What's your monthly payment on this thing? It's deferred payments, but it comes out to in the neighborhood of$9 ,000 a month. Oh, my. Yeah. Okay, you guys. And then you said there's a third house somewhere in this equation, right? Didn't I hear three? Yeah, so we— So what's the third house situation? We bought the first house in March. We bought the second house in July, and we bought the third house in August.
1:04:03Why don't you guys go from one to the other? Just— Okay, so okay, go on. Wow, so this all happened— He wanted three. This all just happened. Oh, yeah. Okay, so go on. Tell me about this third. So the third one— Oh, my goodness. It's a f***ing car then. Yeah, it was definitely a shithole. It looks pretty good right now. Okay. It's not on market yet. What did you buy it for? We bought that one for$200. It's valued at like$228-ish. How much have you put into it? We're going to end up putting$176 into it. Oh, my goodness. That's almost a double. Yeah. Which is kind of crazy. Yeah, it's worth like$550.
1:04:42Do you even know what worth is? You can't sell the house for what you think it's worth today, your second house. Well, this is a good learning experience. All I'm saying is we have a— How can you tell me it's worth that? Because we have to get an appraisal before we buy the thing, and the appraiser says, yeah, once it looks good and it doesn't look like a shithole, then it'll be worth$500,$550. We will see. Okay. Good death. So how much debt do you currently have that is just in those three, or those two houses that have not been sold? On these deferred interest crazy things. Probably the payoff on, it's going to be like$870.
1:05:21pay off on it. It's going to be... So we've got... Why have you allowed this? Oh, I'm saying that. Yeah. This is insane. Bro was not born for this life. Bro was born to work for someone else that actually knew what they were doing. Bam. What the fuck? Your life is about to be destroyed. Do you guys own your own house? We do. Good luck keeping it.
1:05:46Hey, you can't take it in bankruptcy court. I just have to. Buddy, I'm just talking about you paying for it. I just try, again, to trust in his abilities. No. This has been a trust. Trust has been broken. Yes, that's true. No trust. No trust. Trust in his abilities. He has no abilities. He has literally proved that. Might be able to put some sand in and seal it on a floor, but he's not a businessman. in? Well, I definitely haven't proven myself so far, but I feel like I have learned a lot. Listen, I mean, at some point, this is, again, only after changing behavior, because I don't advise the credit card transfers or the debt consolidation or personal loans until behavior has changed.
1:06:33It's a great tool. Same with bankruptcy, or else you end up in the same situation. Once you guys have changed behavior, on CalebHammer.com, there's great debt relief programs. There's great personal loans you guys look at, but only if you've changed your behavior. So check that out. And when you're ready to get a adult job, I'll get you a course career certification as well. People in the audience have converted those into six-figure jobs. There's literally construction project management certifications on there. Lots of trade shit that people make so much money with. Like, come on. Stop being pathetic.
1:07:02This is crazy. You're paying a shit ton of interest. Your minimum payment is$374.
1:07:09Look, in the grand scheme of things here, $374. Oh, yeah, define this. This is insane. Vest Buy, what's going on? Yeah. Oh, fees. That's good. Oh, interest. That's good. Oh, high balance. That's great. Oh, wonderful. I think it's all bullshit. I think it's... Oh, past due. Why? Yeah, we have not paid that. Why? Like I say, there was a couple of months there where we were a little touch and go on paying the mortgage, and I was like, we're going to have to hold on. Like I said, good luck keeping your house. Yeah. I've been paying the mortgage. Yeah. For now. For now. I got this. No, you don't. You've literally proven anything but.
1:07:57I don't know. I think you brought in a lot last month, so. Look, I feel like. But guess what? That probably needs to go to paying last year's taxes. Because you guys can't manage shit. Bro can't even take finasteride once a day. Like, I don't trust him to do anything. Don't ask what that is. I think it's bad for your dick, so. It depends. It's less than 1%. If it is bad for your dick, then don't take it. But for the majority of people, it's fine. Fair enough. If it's even a risk. Is that how you get the broccoli or? Yeah, but you learn and you stop taking it and you're fine. Whatever's going on right now is not working.
1:08:30$485 a month, I think. No, that's, no, because you're three months. What is that? Okay, so$6 ,19. I think it's like$207 a month? I just haven't looked at that one at all. Fees, interest, late fees. $200 this year so far. A thousand in inches. This is crazy. Holy shit. Yeah, you've broken your lives all for the sake of him not being able to run a business. This is crazy. You guys are just insane. But you didn't even get a Best Buy. What even was it? I think it was a 72-inch TV, a new phone, and some blistered feedback. Well, they can't even take their own f***ing bills. At your laptop. You always forget about your laptop.
1:09:10Oh, yeah, fair enough. Oh, my goodness, bro. You owe money to your mom for the first and second property flip? Yeah. Brother. The San Antonio house. Okay, this is disgusting. What is wrong with you? This poor mother. Why is she doing this? Why is she doing this? You've destroyed. Why? It's my mom. Oh, it's even worse. Really? You guys are going to laugh about that? What the f*** is wrong with you? I love my mom. Do you? Yeah, I don't. I don't think anyone who loves their mom would do this. This is insane. You should be ashamed of yourself. Look, I'm with you. How often do you see her? Often enough, every holiday.
1:09:49Often enough. It definitely makes Thanksgiving turkey taste a little funny. If you or your child spent years growing up on social media and experienced serious mental health struggles, you should hear this. Recently, a jury ordered Meta and YouTube to pay millions for their role in designing and promoting addictive platforms. They knew their apps could contribute to anxiety, depression, and body image issues, but did not share those risks while prioritizing profits. The recent historic verdict underscores the consequences of those decisions. Now Morgan & Morgan is stepping up to hold these platforms accountable for the harm they caused.

So I've been joking about this for a while that I feel like I've got Robert Kiyosaki and Dave Ramsey just having a boxing match.
1:11:42Kiyosaki? Rich Dad Poor Dad? Like one of the worst books I've ever read in my life? What are you talking about? Well, every successful real estate investor that I've talked to, they all say that was their kind of formative book. Okay, you're not a successful real estate investor. Rich Dad Poor Dad is like a few hundred pages of, Oh, poor dad said I'm going to go spend everything on a credit card. And the rich dad said, no, I'm going to invest instead. Oh, crazy. What I took out of there was, don't ask if you can afford it. Ask how can you afford it. It's not even a real story, by the way. Yeah.
1:12:18Okay. So how'd this conversation go? Well, hi, mom. My failure of a bald husband needs$30 ,000. How did that conversation go? No. And how does it go now with you owing her? No, she likes the property. She saw the vision. She offered. Oh, she's too. Aw. San Antonio Tortas. No, she's in Midland. Midland Tortas. Okay. She's not in San Antonio. Got it. Oh, damn. You have to be to give$30 ,000 for this. Crazy. To be fair, and what is she thinking now? Probably the same thing I am, which is we're going to trust in the process. Oh, my goodness. You guys are broken. You should give up on this and practically give up on life, but don't do that in real life.
1:13:10When you say, okay, you got to quit what you're doing and go get a job. Yes. That right there is the number one reason why I can't do that. Well, you need to go get another job because you're pathetic with your money, and you need to bring in money right now so you can start paying her back. You failure of a man. I need to finish the house in San Antonio, and once we sell it, then hopefully I can pay that back. Yeah, good luck. It didn't work two times. Good luck with the third. Yeah, that seems to be the trajectory. Their time's the charm. No, it's not. Are you paying her back now? Minimums? Anything?
1:13:40No, we're not making anything. Oh, you suck? You're a horrible son-in-law. You're the worst son-in-law. You're a horrible father. You're a bad partner. You're a bad man. You're a failure. You're a joke. PCI, what is this? I think that's for the water softener that we got a couple years ago. Pathetic. Joke. Okay. Yes. And you listen to David Ramsey? I do like our water softeners. I give a fuck what you like. Well. I like you keeping a roof over your head for you and your kids. Well, I would like for that roof to have a fuck water softener. Okay, which one's more important? Well. Hey, you're past due on the water softener because you're literally.
1:14:23$109.22 a month. You're behind five months. Pathetic children. It has been about that long. Homelessness is your future for you and three kids. Yeah, keep laughing about it. Literally on your watch, actually, because of your watch. I would say your watch caused that. Well, I can't argue with you there, but... No, you can't. You're on financial audit with this paperwork and this debt. Yeah, I mean, again, we had a grand vision, and I bought my own bullshit whenever I'm selling all these investment houses. I'm like, oh, we're going to make this money. You're still following your vision, dude. Your late fees.
1:15:03At this point, I don't know how to change trajectory without burning a bunch of people in the process, so I have to just take it to the finish line, and then I get to have the luxury of fighting. Foreclosed bankruptcy, fresh start, and then pay back family as we can. Slate edge. What's going on? That was, I think both of our slate edges were the balance transfers for the Barclays card. So we maxed that out twice. Yeah, we maxed that one out twice. Oh, you guys suck. Okay. Yeah, it's maxed out$2 ,448.21. Major minimum of$40. Proud of you for that. Oh, there's been a late fee this year. Yeah, he got that one on auto pair.
1:15:44I forgot to take it off auto pair. Oh, no, there's been a late fee this year. Oh, dang it. It was probably overdrafted or something. It didn't go through the room. Aw, shucks. Our life sucks. That's a bummer. Oh, no. You guys are weird, man. Ink. What's happening? Chase, Ink. Oh,$40 fee. That's a late fee. Oh, that's your business? I don't know about that one. It's the first property flip business account. Yeah. Yeah, that's yours. I don't know about that one. Max that out on. Yeah. Jeez. So it's not even just like business loans, mortgages, anything like that. You're putting them on high interest, shitty credit cards.
1:16:18Yeah. Now, this is probably interest-free for a moment, it looks like, or maybe it's on a deferral of some kind because your life sucks. But it is$4 ,729.11 with$475 being the payment. And we've missed every month this year so far. Oh. Wow. Yeah. Oh, every year. Yeah. Yep, it is July. And the interest starts accruing, oh, two weeks ago. Oh, man, we were close. Kind of. To what? I don't know. To possibly paying that off before the interest started hitting. Nope. You're late every month this year so far. You suck, guys. You are the worst. Oh, we have another Slate Edge. Why not? Let's just start collecting them.
1:16:59Yeah. You literally saw them open up all these credit cards, and you're like, yep, that's the way. At the time, it was. No. That's actually never the way. That means the business is not working. Hey, late fee. Who would have thought? Okay. The initial plan was we had a budget set aside for the rehab, and then the contractor screwed us on San Angelo. Okay, how did you get screwed? I gave him the$60 ,000 budget, and we were$20 ,000 short, and he basically never came back. And so I had to go to San Angelo and live in a hotel, and we had to sleep on the floor in the house to finish it. So you've told me about a lot of plans.
1:17:38I've never seen one result that has worked. It sounds like any plan you've ever had in your entire life has not worked. maybe stop following your own plans because you don't know how to plan and you are a joke and stop reading Robert Kiyosaki who made up a story.
1:17:51Well, I don't know what to say other than I feel like you don't learn anything without doing anything. It's time to give up because I'm a failure and it's time to grow up and I'm going to start my new life at 31 as an adult and get a f***ing job because I can't do this shit myself. Boo. I'm probably going to keep doing it just so you know. Really? Yeah, probably so. You have poor kids. Well. And why should I even finish this shit? Dude, you're... Dave would tell you not to. I would tell you not to. Yeah, that's not a certain... Ramit would tell you not to. Gramathan would tell you not to. Everyone in the world would tell you not to who talks about money online.
1:18:32No reasonable person, no person that spends their life thinking about this shit, studying this shit, reading about this shit, would tell you to do this. Would Robert tell you to do this? I don't even think so. With your failure record, doubt it. Rich Dad, poor Dad, you're a f***ing dad. Hey, everybody's got to file bankruptcy at least once. Nope.
1:18:55You can be president of the United States with like three or four of those. Okay, well, he's a f***ing billionaire. You're a negative tens of thousands and a failure of a dad.
1:19:09My kids love me, by the way. He's two and a half. He doesn't know anything. He knows that I'm the best. For now. Until he resents you for the rest of his life once he starts learning how horrible mom and dad's relationship is and how dad caused all the stress and struggle. Okay, your net worth is negative 1.3 million.
1:19:33That sounds about right. Right. Yeah, you suck at everything. Okay. Yeah, stay with that. That's really working. This makes a lot of sense. Okay, Citi, what's going on? Build another balance transfer card. Yeah, I think so. Oh, why not? $5 ,126 with a minimum monthly payment,$306. Sure. Transferred, built it up. That's why I don't want you to use any of our services that adults can use, but you're not adults. You haven't proven your behavior. You build up every balance that you transfer than build up your previous balance. Look, I don't plan on ever using debt again, and I don't think - A plan?
1:20:10A plan of yours? Well - I don't think you should follow it. It's not going to work out. If it makes you feel any better, I don't think anybody's going to give me any more debt, so - No one should. Yeah. Why are you with him? Doesn't support you emotionally, calls you bad words, is literally the worst businessman I've ever met in my life, and isn't even there for his family. Why are you there? I do love him. Why? Love him a lot. I don't understand how at this point. Well, he's my best friend. How? You guys don't hang out, and when you do, you cry. We do. No. That was an overstatement. According to the literally hours of five times a week, it's like.
1:20:49No. We stopped doing that. Mostly because I stopped doing that two weeks ago. Well, okay. We've shortened them. I have started walking away. I've started walking away from the conversations. Two months from now. And I've started walking away from the conversations because— She loved him so much, she met with a divorced lawyer two weeks ago. Yeah. Classic love. So romantic. Well, I feel like 50 % of all marriages end in divorce. Yeah, and you are headed that way. Closer than most. The other 50 % have all thought about it, so. Yeah, I agree with that. Yeah, but most don't meet a lawyer. That's fair.
1:21:29And it's not 50 % of all marriages ever. It's heavily skewed by the young and early married. Where you guys are 10 years in, your expectancy is much higher. I thought the average age of marriage whenever they get divorced is like 19 years of marriage because they'll stay for the kids. If you take average, I mean, you know how averages work, though. Average is so flawed and skewed. Okay, student loans. Who has student loans? It looks like you do. Yes. Okay.
1:22:01$5 ,927 for what? For popping things out of your vagina and then making that your entire life? For, no, I... Oh, the birth center probably? What? No, this... What are your student loans for? What did you study? Ecology degree. Bloody, you can't even handle a conversation. You're... Yeah, good thing you don't do anything with it. $397.20. Past due. They will start defaulting and pull from your taxes. Oh, yikes. I didn't know that. I did want to keep paying on that one. You probably should. But instead you guys are being horrible with your business. You said four walls. That's all paid. They won't be soon.
1:22:43Do you guys not understand that? Your mortgage is almost missed constantly. You just spent$1 ,800 on a personal trading certificate. That four walls? Yeah, are you sure? No, you're not even paying your previous student loans. That one's on payments, though. Everything's on payments. That's your guys' life. You guys are broken. and you guys are headed towards the end. She wanted the certificate. Who am I to tell her now? I spend$1.3 million on houses if she wants$1 ,800 on some. Oh, okay, you guys are perfect for each other, actually. Okay, we have an auto statement. $25 ,600, or I guess pay off amount,$818.14 with a minimum monthly payment of$571.79.
1:23:25I think that's my truck. Yeah. Okay. Great. You're underwater by 10 ,000. That sounds about right. It's kind of a piece of shit. What's the interest rate? Just like you. I have no idea. Like 13, 14? I have no idea. Oh, you are a piece of shit. I thought it was eight. I have no idea. We don't even know anything. We can't even read, dude. I thought it was eight. I kind of don't care. You don't care? What a father. What a good man. What a good partner you are. He doesn't mean that. He cares. about the interest rate if it's 13 or 8? I'm being told there's like a new car situation? Yes. What? We did.
1:24:06You guys not know you're literally poor? Like, so poor. So what is with a new car? So my old car, my beautiful Volkswagen Golf GTI, broke down and stopped working. Blew the motor. Blew the motor. One cylinder. No oil change. Yeah. Ever. Excuse me, I changed the f***ing oil. I put oil in her all the time. She's dead now. I know. I know she's dead. What? So then she had to... Okay, I'm sorry. Okay, so we took her to the dealership, and my father was there, and he was like, let's get you a new one. And with my credit, because our credit is bad, and we were like, okay. We took him up on his offer, so it's under his name.
1:24:56We do make the payments. We've only made one payment because we just got it. Brand new 2026 third row seating Volkswagen Amos. What do you owe on it? In his name? Yeah, it's in my father's name. What's owed? Like 43? I think it's 43. It's worth 34. Then it's, I don't know. What's your payment? It's$7.31. And you pay to him? Yes, we pay. We just pay it online. First payment? You're not going to be able to pay more. You can't afford it. You're behind on like 30 debts. Yeah. Yeah. And you're going to f*** him? No. Yes, you are. No. You can't say no. You're literally behind on other payments. How are you going to make this payment that is higher than every single payment we've talked about so far?
1:25:45We prioritize that payment. That's impossible. That's literally$734 ,000 or whatever. And you owe, what,$45 ,000? What the f***? How'd you get a$45 ,000 car? You couldn't afford that. Get a$10 ,000 car, old car. What the fuck is wrong with you? She wanted it. I don't care. Oh, you guys have no self-control. You guys can't say no to each other, to yourselves.
1:26:10No, I could say no. I could have said no. But you didn't. No, I didn't. I, no. Oh, my goodness. My father really wanted me to have it, too. Oh, your dad encouraged this. Just like your mom's a f***er. We already f***ed over. Oh, my goodness. You guys are bad people. You guys are bad people. God knows my heart. And that you're a bad person. Look how you're abusing your parents, literally, financially.
1:26:39So your 2017 GTI? Yes. What's up with it? She is running on one cylinder. Okay, just get rid of it. Sell it or something. No, I'm never selling it. No. Okay, great. No, it's my waifu car. I love that car. So prioritize her wants and desires over anyone else. So$2 ,000 in this checking account looks like it was for the third property flip. Why are we getting coffee and coffee? I'm driving to the business. I'm driving to the business. Get him. I'm so done with this. I'm so done with him. He needs to learn his lesson and be put under the ground financially. Oh, he already is. Savings, seven cents, of course.
1:27:14Oh, my God. Yeah, your life's a joke. You should be embarrassed and probably, you know. Oh, real estate loan,$690 ,000. Was this the loan you were telling me about? Yeah, that one's on the Fort Worth house. Oh,$690 ,000 at 13%. Yeah, it's gone on too long now, and I think the payoff is more like$870 ,000, something like that. Oh, my goodness. this. I've never seen anything like that in my life. You're ruined. You guys are ruined. That's it. I know the goal. I don't give a f*** about the goal. This is ruined. No, I don't care. It's impossible. You're done. You're ruined. I don't think there's a way.
1:28:04Dude. Good luck. You owe like$6 ,000 or whatever to the birthing center by October while making the payment to the dad, while allowing this to continue to accrue. When is a payment going to be required on that? On the A70 that it is ballooned to? It's a good question. Depends on if it files foreclosure or if we sell it. Okay. We have$30 ,000 for this third property flip. Note secured to deed. We're just going to take out debt, debt, debt, debt, debt, which is why you're going to lose money again. Second position loan on the Fort Worth house. Glad you prefer this over keeping a roof over your head, kid.
1:28:43Do you have payments on this now or is it a post? Deferred payments. Pay close. Is it accruing interest? I think so. It's probably like$40 ,000 at this point. Yep. It's already gone up by$5 ,000. He didn't even know. He can't even tell me he's going to make a profit if he doesn't even know, dude. This checking account, personal account, $196 to their name. Yeah, we're still getting Starbucks. Going inside getting energy drinks, it looks like, for$3.78. How am I supposed to paint walls like a raw dog in the life? I'll tell you how. Gamer Subs. Hell yeah. Gamer Subs, 40 cents a serving, much cheaper with our discount code.
1:29:25Link in the description below. Check it out. Get your free samples. Figure out what flavor you like. But of course, I don't know why they did not put this in this episode. We have failed. When you pick a flavor, you probably should pick my flavor, Liquid Assets. It is, in my personal opinion, because I curated the flavor, my favorite flavor. But check it out. Get that liquid ass. That's 40 cents a serving for your energy drinks instead of being this dumbass at$3.79. And we got$20 to Spotify and Starbucks and Starbucks and Chick-fil-A. Big rock. Starbucks, Chick-fil-A. They're poor. They're prioritizing this over their kid's future.
1:30:03They haven't even paid for the birth in center of their next payment, their next child, the down payment. Coffee company, pay Terry's, burgers, Amazon. Bullshit. Coffee, coffee. coffee mcdonald's energy drink andy's frozen custard amazon starbucks coffee my ice cream's energy drink energy drink energy drink spex liquor coffee amazon amazon amazon amazon coffee coffee schlotzky's andy's frozen custard coffee energy drink energy drink a subscription coffee peterry's Crunchyroll Bullshit Energy Drink Coffee Pete Terry's Etsy.com Coffee Pete Terry's You guys should be the same to yourselves You guys are actually disgusting parents and individuals and failures in life Negative$139 in this checking account They don't cut your hands off Pete Terry's Water Burger Energy Drink Vape and Smoke Yeah let's just die while we're at it The Shack Pete Terry's Big Rock Water Burger Chick-fil-A Coffee.
1:31:09Mind it, we're negative in this account. Coffee. Bullshit. Guadalajara. Mexican. Pteris. Chick-fil-A. Starbucks. That's actually a lot more than I. Chick-fil-A. We're kind of bad. McDonald's. End your relationship. McDonald's. Energy drinks. In Minecraft. Marriage in real life. Actually, don't. Yeah, that's. Yeah, what am I? Estimated funds needed at closing? Do we already have this? Or this is a new debt, right? That's probably the loan paperwork for the San Antonio house. For a different debt that we haven't seen. That'd be the San Antonio flip. You funded it with$203 ,000. How'd you get that?
1:31:53Oh, no, the purchase price is$200. Estimated error. Okay. Okay, so loan amount. $371 ,749. What's your minimum? That one is like$4 ,050 a month. How are you paying that? Working really, really hard. Oh, yeah.
1:32:17$3 ,71749. Where's y 'all's mortgage? Your personal mortgage. Wait. Okay. And then what are these debts? Like this$40 ,000,$40 ,881. What are these? Are those new debts? Separate debts? This is a second property flip. Oh, um, no, I don't know what that is. I think that's all the money coming. Yeah, that's the money coming in and out for the. No, buddy, this is total amount, like, do, total amount, do. Look, highlighted at the top, asshole. Oh, that was the property taxes for the San Antonio flip that they issued a third loan on. Okay, so it looks like you're, okay, okay, okay, okay. You owe a total of$81.73, got it.
1:33:06Okay. The rocket mortgage. This must be your mortgage. There it is. Yes. Good luck keeping it. That's a lot of papers. I was about to say. Yeah, you have an 8 % mortgage. Yeah. $154 ,147. I think we had a 4 % mortgage and then we refinanced. You guys suck at everything. $1 ,423.06. Sick. I'm sorry, guys. here's the reality and this is it because what the f*** are we doing here these minimum payments I mean once those especially deferred start hitting guys I mean we're at like what 3 ,000, 4 ,000 hours a month in minimum payments before those payments start hitting you're not setting aside money for taxes everything's a f***ing mess I don't have the business books really
1:33:58I would sell this as quick as you can how much longer for the renovation? if everything goes as planned we should be done by... And won't your plans fail? I know, yeah. It should be done by the middle of August. And hopefully... Okay, so let's call it fall. Sell the house. Hopefully make a profit. I'd go through bankruptcy on everything and just default on everything. I would just... I'm done. I would just be done. You guys suck. And until then, follow a tight budget, only paying on y 'all's mortgage. Other than that, foreclose on the second I'd just consider it the biggest mistake of our life.
1:34:32Wipe the slate clean start over except you won't because he said he's going to continue doing this forever which is why why even make a budget why even deal with these they're not changing anything they're going to be failures for the rest of their lives and their kids will deal with the consequences not them and it's a pathetic joke pathetic joke but here's the thing in the post show she doesn't know about something he just did and we're going to go into it regarding two new properties. And I'm going to go through their text message history as well and see the shit they're fighting about. Get back into that crap.
