In short
BBC “Lie Detector” segment where two ex-pro footballers (Karel Prince and Anita) act as fact-checkers to determine which of three Fraser Campbell stories is true.
Guests
Fraser Campbell (former Premier League striker; played for Man United, Spurs on loan in 2008-09, and Sunderland; also Leicester title winner via Danny Simpson connection). Anita (resident BBC fact-checker; co-host). Karel Prince (resident BBC fact-checker; co-host).
Key claims (three “case files”)
- In Sunderland, Fraser says he was in a police helicopter chase after taking a wrong turn in Newcastle; six police cars pulled him over; reported in the Sunderland Echo.
- Before a Bristol City playoff final, he and roommate Caleb Fallon allegedly climbed out a window to get chicken and chips from nearby.
- During an international break, he and Titus Bramble allegedly went to Las Vegas for 48 hours; Fraser denies it.
Notable examples
“five-star wanted” helicopter imagery; debate about Just Eat timing; final reveal: the true story is the police helicopter incident; the other two are lies.

0:52Yes, people, it's Coral Prince here.
0:53Fraizer Campbell:And Anita, bye me. We are the resident fact-checkers here at the BBC. every week we'll be bringing you three stories from ex-professional footballers two will be lies one will be the truth and using our detective and analytical skills we will be trying to figure out which is the truth and which is the lie Anita are you ready to help me out yes I am let's get into it FC FC football club I'm trying to think of any footballers with FC Federico Chiesa oh that's a good one yeah what would he be on the investigation for uh why he didn't why he barely played on the arnie slot fc fc frank connor frank connors frank is that someone i do you know there are frank connor's you know what really grinds my gears people with two first names frank and connor like a john terry you know yeah yeah that really who's another one that's got two you you must know a lot of first two double first name no i ignore them they i literally erased them from my memory what about the people that have a first name but they don't use their first name but they actually use their middle name i use my middle name so anita's not your first name anita's my middle name ah yes because like harry mcguire harry's not his first name what's his first name jacob jacob harry mcguire i think it's jacob harry mcguire i'm pretty sure it should we var that do you want to use your your ancient computer born jacob harry mcguire yeah yeah it's jacob jacob harry mcguire and then joe hartson first name's not joe either joe hart is just such an unbelievable name to begin with his first name is charles joseph john hart that's his name charles joseph john charles john joe mr hart i know we're under the same umbrella right now if you want to come here and explain why you have three first names bro you let us know like we will happily have you on this table and it will sit on this side and we can have a chat about that three first names that's crazy okay as someone who uses their middle name yes when you went to school yes did you submit anita as like the name that you wanted to be called or like yeah or did you have to tell them don't call me what's on the register middle no i literally submitted anita as my first name so wait i could have gone to school if my mom so choose they could just call me max power do you know what you look like a max power with your blonde hair to be fair It would suit me, didn't it?
3:10Max Power. It's a cool name. Very Congolese. Max Power is also a footballer.
3:14Fraizer Campbell:Who does Max Power play for? He played for Wigan. Oh. Or plays for Wigan. I don't know if he's still there. I can check for you right now. Go on. But the first time I heard the name Max Power, which is why this... Yeah, he still plays for Wigan. He also played for Bradford. He played for Wigan before again. Sunderland. That's such a cool name. Max Power. But where I first heard it was in the Simpsons. Homer Simpson changed his name to Max Power and it just stuck with me so when I saw a footballer called Max Power I couldn't forget him Max Power do you know what it's such a good name though I like that Max Power it's got double meaning yeah man it can mean anything as well where does Max Power play?
3:53Fraizer Campbell:midfield is a midfielder? ah Max Power Max Power in the engine room Max Power Maximum Power Maximum Power I mean that's an MP that's not really an FC but I think that goes to show we don't have many I almost forgot about the initials on our case files. FC. Huh? England London. Fabio Capello! Oh my days, Fabio Capello. Postman Pat. God forbid we had Fabio Capello's files in our hands. Stories he'd have to tell about that England squad would be monumental. Have you had the story of David Bentley and Jimmy Bullard sneaking out of one of his camps to go get McDonald's? Let's say for fun that I didn't.
4:33Fraizer Campbell:Tell the audience, what was the story? I think we should leave that to Mr. Bentley or Bullard to come and tell us that story. But I know they said that they left, somehow snuck out of the camp to go get McDonald's. I don't know how you sneak out of the camp, boy. Should we find out who FC is? Yeah, let's give it a go. Ah, Fraser Campbell. Fraser Lee Campbell. Middle name. He's a Lee Campbell. Fraser Lee Campbell. You know what's funny about Fraser Campbell? Go on. I met him earlier this year. Okay, how was that? At a birthday party. A Premier League champion's birthday party. Oh Tell us more Corral What?
5:07Fraizer Campbell:Your stories Tell us more Forget your free stories Forget your free stories Fraser Yeah no I met him at Danny Simpson He won the league with Leicester Yes He played with him at United I met him at his birthday party And Weirdly enough He just spent the Every time he saw me that night He spent the whole night saying Don't tax me Don't tax me So Wani's file is sitting here In front of me And he submitted free videos For me to review Was it mind games? He wants to get taxed man I'm not a fan of that approach. Hey, listen. He could have messaged me privately. It's all mind games. It's all mind games.
5:40Fraizer Campbell:It's mind games, isn't it? It's mind games. Mind games. But yeah, I've followed his career closely. Okay. Obviously, he was at Man United. Yes. That's where he started. I actually went to Spurs on loan in 08-09. Do you know why he went to Spurs on loan? Tell me why. Because Dimitar Berbatov went the other way to Manchester United on deadline. Ah. So they needed to replace a striker at last minute and they got Fraser Campbell. Good old Berbatov. Where does Fraser Campbell rank against Berbatov? I'll take Fraser Campbell. Over Berbatov. Yeah. I've never met Dimitar Berbatov in my life. Yeah, I haven't met Berbatov.
6:09Fraizer Campbell:I haven't met Berbatov. Was he cool? He's amazing. He's the funniest guy. Did he show you his first touch? No, unfortunately, it was at a Beyonce concert. You met Dimitar Berbatov at a Beyonce concert? I've got pictures as well. What? I met him at a Beyonce concert. I think his wife dragged him there. I guess who else I met at a Beyonce concert in the same area? Mahrez. Mahrez and his girl. I believe that. I believe that. Yeah. I've got some documentary. Literally, it was like a simulation for me. I was like, well, hold on, Burbatop. I swear down and I told him like, your first touch is amazing.
6:42Fraizer Campbell:How do you move like how you move when you're this tall? He's massive, by the way. He's taller than you. Massive. Six foot, probably like six foot two, six foot three. I'm taller than that for the viewers. And I'm sat down. Don't let me stand up on camera. Because if I stand up, I'll be like, you know in Tom and Jerry, the woman that's in Tom and Jerry that you can't see her face. That's how tall I'll be on camera. Don't give Dimitar ideas as well to start messing with me. I'm telling you, he's a tall lad and he's so friendly. I can imagine. Yeah. The crazy thing is, I can't imagine Dimitar Berbatov at Beyonce.
7:13This is throwing me off.
7:14Fraizer Campbell:I promise you, he was there and he loved the show. He absolutely loved it. I'll show you the pictures. I've got the proof. I'm not a liar. I'm telling you. No, I believe you. I believe you. Thank you. You should have just thrown something at him just to see his first touch. I'll be honest with you. And next time, maybe he'll come on the show. Who knows? But back to Fraser Campbell. Dimitar, if you're watching, you let us know. You talk a lot about Dimitar's first touch. What about Fraser Campbell's? Fraser Campbell, I think he was a very good striker. I mean, yes, did he play at the levels that Dimitar did?
7:43No, but sometimes that's opportunity, you know. No, I've got a lot of time for Fraser Campbell. Okay.
7:48Fraizer Campbell:Let's look at the case files then. Las Vegas, Nevada. That is a really weird picture to put in here. There's always a post-season trip to Las Vegas. Exactly. This might be spicy. Whoa. Whoa. Whoa. is that a police officer is he getting arrested arrested it's giving GTA this is so crazy what did you do to have a car and a helicopter he's got five stars he's got five stars that is that's interesting do you know what you have to do to get a helicopter on you you're gonna get the choppers on you hit the parkies if you know you know if you know you know but do you remember some of these pictures might be some of these pictures might be doctored you know AI generated no but it could just be to show what the time was like innit it's still an AI generated picture oh yeah put that against him you got Fraser Campbell at Sunderland he looks so young I can't lie no offence Fraser you know I love you but your trim looks better now than it did back then that is I don't know who was your barber in Sunderland that was terrible back then were you actually getting trims every single week though of course they were have you saw some of the trims that guys were getting like in the late 2000s early 2010s.
8:59Nah, but the amount of patterns and stuff.
9:01Fraizer Campbell:They would get their hair dyed or let the pattern like grow out and stuff. You weren't getting trims every single week. I'm looking at the England camp this summer, right? For the World Cup. They're getting their hair braided every single week. It's unbelievable. Yeah, but do you know how many cameras are on them? Mate, but I'm saying back in the day, they weren't doing that. Yeah, because like, what, if you're not playing that Stamford Bridge, Anfield, Old Trafford, you're barely getting a highlight on match of the day. So you don't need to get a trim. Now, you can watch 90 minutes of every match and there's about 75 cameras in the stadium zooming in on you.
9:32There's 85 photographers at the game. You've got to post on the ground after the game.
9:36Fraizer Campbell:What are you saying? You know, if you lose, oh, the fans are amazing. Sorry about the result. You win. Fans are amazing. Well done for the result. You score. I've got best believe if you score five posts. So you've got to have a trim. So what are you saying? Fraser didn't get no airtime. Your words are mine. He might have been in a goal drought at that point. I don't know. Your words are not mine. And your favourite meal? Chicken and chips. Firstly, okay, let's unpack why you said that's my favourite meal. Let's unpack that. Because I can't remember the last time I had chicken and chips. So, let's talk about it.
10:07But either way, a box of chicken and chips, I'll be honest, I need to hear about this.
10:12Fraizer Campbell:Yeah, because surely that's not in his diet. He was a Premier League footballer. Yeah, but Usain Bolt ate nuggets at the Olympics. Usain Bolt is a different kettle of fish, mate. He's just a different league. No, he is. And also he's only got a run for nine seconds. You know, I used to see Usain Bolt a lot, you know. You know, if you're in Manchester at any point in the year, you'll meet Usain Bolt. Is it the Usain Bolt or is it someone that looks like Usain Bolt? No, it is Usain Bolt. Because he's a Man United fan. Yeah. He comes over a lot to watch Manchester United. Have you met him yet? Yeah, I've met him.
10:45Fraizer Campbell:Several times? It's to the point where like, it's no longer, wow, Usain Bolt. It's like, oh, it's Usain. Hi, Usain. I don't know him, but it's like, you feel like you know him because you see him that much. I saw him. I've never met him. I saw him race a random woman in the streets. Did a woman win? Of Manchester. I saw him race a random woman in the streets. Who won? Come on, man. Let's not disrespect the gold. I need to be sure. Let's not disrespect the gold right now. I need to be sure. You think she won in her bare foot after taking the heels off against a triple Olympic champion? Not even a triple.
11:13You will never know.
11:14Fraizer Campbell:I think I could take him on. In what? All right, let's get into the case file. Fraser Campbell. Anyway, Fraser has been kind enough to send us over some clips. I want to know about Vegas I want to know about chicken and chips I want to know about the handcuffs If that's all one story I'm scared That'll be the best story we've ever had Right Clip number one Let's roll the tapes Roll the tape What's Fraser got to say? Sorry, before I press play Go on Be wary of the fact That he's a Yorkshireman So he's got the You warning me about the accent He's got the Huddersfield accent Yeah I wasn't prepared for it when I first met him I like a Yorkshire accent Because I always brought him from like Manchester or London I like a Yorkshire accent We're fine Yes, Carell.
11:54It's Fraser here. I told you he knows me. See how he said my name? He knows me.
11:58Fraizer Campbell:He said, yes, Carell. I've got a few stories for you, and I'm going to put your lie detector sensors to the test. So, here we go. First story I've got for you is when I was up at Sunderland, I was involved in a police helicopter chase unbeknown to me. I was driving through the city centre in Newcastle and I took a turn down the wrong street. So anyway, I'm driving home and then I was in the car with my friend and we noticed there's a helicopter. It was like, oh, I wonder where that helicopter's going. Must be chasing someone. Next minute, six police cars surrounded my car, pulled me over. It was me thereafter because I turned the wrong way down the street.
12:45he was in the Sunderland Echo the next day. I got a bit in trouble with my manager at the time.
12:52Fraizer Campbell:Can we just write this one off immediately? Can we write it off? Please, please. There's absolutely no way this is real. There's no way. And it weren't on the live news. It weren't on BBC at all. There is no way. Do you remember that though? Yes. Premier League footballer gets chased by the cops with a helicopter in the sky. I don't think he even got chased. He didn't... By the time he realised there was a helicopter on him, there was cars around him. And there were handcuffs. See, now you're going to make me sound like I'm disrespecting people. But is that national news? That is something that would be on the national news.
13:25But okay, let me think of it. Go on. So he's saying it happened because he turned the wrong way down the street.
13:30Fraizer Campbell:Yes. That does happen. That does happen. But it potentially could have happened in a case where, okay, he's rich. Okay. He's driving a certain car. Yes. And that car might have been target, like, in terms of the vehicle, like, the type of vehicle for someone else that was a criminal. I heard that the police are more likely to pull you over if you make a left turn when they're behind you. That's what I've heard. Based on what? Apparently, the left turn is an easier turn to make. So if you make a right turn, then it's like you're not trying to avoid the police. But if you make a left turn, you're just making the first left turn that you see because it's the easiest thing to do.
14:04Fraizer Campbell:Oh, because we're on the left side of the road, get out. Apparently, that's what I've heard. Yeah, but I'm trying to think, like, what the context... Because he said specifically it's because he turned down the wrong road. He probably took the left turn, the first left turn that he saw. And the sirens probably went off, but I doubt there was a helicopter. Yeah, but he said the helicopter was above him before he clocked there was any police cars. And there was six of them. Maybe he went down the left turn a bit too fast. You know these footballers, they drive, like, Ferraris, Lamborghinis, etc.
14:30Fraizer Campbell:Yeah. The car probably went a bit too fast. But then you would just say, oh, I was speeding, or I was doing this. Like, you said it's because you went down the wrong road. well he might have just tried to you know make it sound a little bit more believable i don't know i feel like he's trying to make himself sound like dominic torretto like what's going on yeah fast and furious babe you know what i mean i'm i'm not too sure on this one okay we can put that in the maybe pile i'm not too sure on this one but i'm ready to to hear the second one and see what that's all about because i believe there's going to be more credible sounding stories
15:06The murder of Tupac Shakur.
15:38It has generated nearly 30 years of rumours, conspiracy theories and unanswered questions. Now the mythology is about to meet the courtroom as the trial gets underway and Nevada prosecutors try and solve the mystery of who killed Tupac. 16:11To get all the updates, listen and subscribe on BBC Sounds or wherever you get your podcasts so you never miss an episode.
16:18Fraizer Campbell:OK, let's do it. The second story I've got for you is that before we played Bristol City in the playoff final, me and my roommate, Caleb Fallon, wanted something extra than the pre-match standard meal. So we ordered a Just Eat to the hotel, but they couldn't come to the reception, obviously, so I had to climb out a window down the road and get the chicken and chips. Yeah, didn't tell anyone, not told anyone until this day, actually. So they snuck out to have chicken and chips. But he said he climbed out the window? Sorry a second. Hold on a second. Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. if this is 2008 okay how are you getting a Just Eat?
17:07Fraizer Campbell:you're cooking you're cooking Google when Just Eat was open Google it I don't think I need to do that what phones were even out Just Eat I think Just Eat was around yeah if you rang up the local takeaway and said yo can you deliver some food that's one thing but a Just Eat Just Eat might have just been around potentially let's have a look Just Eat was founded in 2001 okay hold on there you go so you order food yeah you order it through an app yeah But do you remember ordering food before the apps were out? I used to use one of those leaflet things that come through the post. Exactly, with the number on it.
17:37Yeah. Or like you'd call your local Pizza Hut or Domino's or whatever your Chinese takeaway.
17:44Fraizer Campbell:But at the same time, I wasn't old enough to know that there was a Just Eat around them times either. In my life, and maybe because my parents are African, yeah. So maybe he's got a different youth or like adolescence, right? My parents never used online to order food. Yeah, because our parents would go into the kitchen and cook. No. When my mum wanted Pizza Hut, she would ring up Pizza Hut and say, she's like the super supreme from Pizza Hut. Okay. And we'd have that sometimes. Yeah. So it was never, oh, you go to the place. So I'm thinking when you say, and even when you're saying, oh, just eat and then you go down the road to get it.
Read the full transcript
18:21Fraizer Campbell:Yeah. I'm like, does that even? I'm sure back in the day you can go on that website, literally type in what you want, call them up, and then go to the restaurant to pick it up. I'm pretty sure that was a thing. Okay. I'm trying to think. Okay, 2008. Uh-huh. Whole Dean Winders scored the winner to send him to the Premier League. Playoffs. Playoffs. Championship. I remember that. Okay, so, okay, let's say plausibly. Okay. That he can get the food. He can't get it delivered to the reception. Okay. Do you believe that he hopped out the window and went down the road to collect it then came back in and hopped through the window again.
19:00Absolutely not. So, if he's jumping out of window to go down the road, there's two things that can happen here which would be the most pointless things to happen before arguably the biggest game of your career at that point. Go on. One, you can get injured.
19:13Fraizer Campbell:Ugh, mate. Mate. Listen, I don't know when you guys are seeing this but I saw what happened to Jordan Henderson just trying to go over a little thing. And he was celebrating. Yeah, and you're hopping over out of window to go down the road. Secondly is, if you get caught, you could lose your place in the team yeah that's true you could be dropped out the squad there's too many risks with it too many risks and I'm saying would you do that for one chicken and chip the night before you don't even know if the chicken and chip is top quality it's not even in your area so I don't know if you're doing all that but again we've had the car where there's plausibility in it but we don't know if the helicopter's wild you'd actually go down the wrong road and have six cars five star wanted rating for that yeah I've done worse things on GTA and not being pulled the same way he got pulled.
20:01Fraizer Campbell:Exactly. And then we've got this, which is, it could be plausible, depending on how much of a big back he is, but I don't know if I believe it on that level. Right, let's play the third clip. Let's go into the third one. Let's roll the tape and see if this one might be the one that smells right. There we go. Smells like that good chicken and chips that he apparently ate. And the third story I've got here is when I was up at Sunderland again, it was international break. And Steve Bruce had told us that, you know, He didn't want us going away on trips outside of the country. You know, he could go see your family and whatnot.
20:35But my good friend Tych Bramble had the idea that we should go to Vegas. So secretly we, and this was before Instagram and all that stuff. So you could get away with things secretly. So we ended up a cheeky little 48 hours in Vegas. And yeah, he never found out.
20:59Fraizer Campbell:40 hours in Vegas And no one found out Plausible It is I think this is the one that sounds the most true Who goes to Who goes to Vegas for two days A lot of people Really? A lot of people More people than you think Yes Is it worth the dreadful? Yes That thrill and the adrenaline that you get from going to Vegas For just 48 hours or 40 hours it is unmatched. So I kind of believe that that kind of, that happened. I'm trying to think. I don't, like... He said before the Instagram era, which was obviously false because Instagram, I think, was founded in 2010. And he was in Sunderland in 2009 to 2013.
21:40Yeah, Steve Bruce was there 2009 to 2011. Yeah, like, if we say before Instagram, like, we mean before everything. I think he means before everything was really blown up and serious. Titus Bramble. I've heard a lot of stories about Titus Bramble. What have you heard? Just on different podcasts. It seems like he probably would have that kind of idea to make that happen.
22:03Fraizer Campbell:This is one that - But the Fraser I met is an older Fraser. It's more of a family man Fraser. Everyone is a family man to you, Corral. Just let it go. People have a past. That's actually true. I've said a lot of people. No, no, no. But I was going to say, yeah, but obviously we're talking about like 2010, right? Exactly. So I'm saying the one I met is like an older version. Yeah. that he's in his late 30s. So I couldn't really picture what he was like back then because I didn't know him. But I would, I think this one is... This one sounds too good to be true. Do you know what I mean? It feels too easy.
22:38I don't know because I think that's, those are kind of escapades people would pull. But it feels too easy. To say?
22:45Fraizer Campbell:Yeah. Okay, but then, okay, what's more plausible? You take a wrong turn, you have six cars on you and a helicopter. But remember, this is also in Sunderland while he's at Sunderland. A lot of things happened up there. Fraser, I need three more stories about Sunderland because I know that seems like a crazy. I know he's got loads. I know. Then you've got hopping out of a window before a player final. That one, we were writing that one off. To get chicken and chips. Yeah, we're writing that one off. And the third one is going to Vegas for 48 hours, which sounds like the most unbelievable, but in context, sounds the most believable.
23:14Fraizer Campbell:It sounds the most believable. It doesn't sound an inch off. Like, I don't have a doubt that that would be not real, apart from the fact that it's too easy. okay so let's let's let's let's lock in for a second okay let's lock okay the car chase yes which didn't even sound like a chase yes where are you ranking that that sounded like a scene out of gta so i'm ranking that as the least believable less likely than the chicken and chips oh this is hard this is difficult okay chicken and chips the least likely because it's it's before a playoff game there's no way but then oh i feel like we're overthinking it nerves and like nerves excitement nerves do not make you climb out of a window before one of the most important games of your life yeah because I would have said like if it was like a superstition of his or something like oh I always had like chicken and chips before a big game or something he would have said it he would have said it he would have said it because he's like oh nobody knows I ate chicken and chips before the player final after 16 16 oh no wait how many years 18 years after it happened like ooh I ate chicken and chips I've been running around saying do you know what yeah we got promoted the day before I was eating chicken and chips like you were saying Bolt did why would you not brag about that if it paid off you would keep it to yourself if you lost because like you don't want anyone to know that you did something to ill prepare for it but it would be like saying imagine saying oh I went partying for three days before a big game and I scored a hat trick which as we know with my history if someone says that they're probably lying yeah we know all the hat tricks we know Samuel Leto Samuel Leto will lie about a hat trick I'll tell you that for free oh yeah for sure and he'll tell you that he left games at halftime to go on holiday, but that's neither here nor there.
24:54I'm thinking that that didn't happen because he would tell the story. And I don't think the GTA scene happened, but I do believe that in 2010, 11, somewhere between 2009, 2011, I feel like with international break, as we always see in off-season, especially the ones that don't go and play. You've seen the trend nowadays is that they go to Dubai for a few days and stuff like that. I don't think it's out of the realm of possibility that in 2009 to 11, wherever that period would have been, that you could go on that trip. It's a mad trip to do because of the time it is to get there and back.
25:30Fraizer Campbell:I feel like I'm looking too deeply into this, but I'm going to go with your lead on this, Corral. I think the Vegas one. Okay. Is that what you think? We can do it. We can lock in, shake hands. If I'm wrong, I'm going to have words with Fraser, man. All right. So Fraser's been kind enough to send us the real answer, the reveal. I think all there's left to do is roll the tape on it and find out if we was right or not if you was right or not you weren't with me we're a team we win and lose together apologies yeah you're right I'm rolling the tape so the actual true story is the speed is the car chase in Sunderland I didn't know I got chased by the police in my car I wasn't I wouldn't say I was speeding but I must have lost a policeman in the city centre and he radioed on and next minute there's a helicopter after us.
26:23You should have seen some of the fans driving past, taking pictures of me, getting told off by the police. Like I said, he was in the paper the next day, which wasn't really, or the next week or whatever, the manager wasn't too happy about it. As for the other two stories, me and Caleb were roommates. We did think about getting a ticket, but we never did. We were ultimate professionals. probably a good job because we needed the energy for the playoff final. And the other story was one that someone told me, they had heard a rumour that me and Titus Bramble had gone to Vegas mid-season, which I must have had a bit of a reputation for being a bit of a party boy, because despite me denying it and saying, no, it's not true, I would never do that, Nobody actually believed me.
27:16So, yeah, I never went to Vegas. And I never got a just eat before the playoff final.
27:24Fraizer Campbell:At least we can agree on the just eat. I've got an issue with this.
27:32So, how can you say in your story, you got pulled because you took a wrong turn? Now, when you reveal it, you say that you were speeding through the city centre and you lost the police.
27:45Fraizer Campbell:And the thing is, if he'd said the speeding part... Exactly. It would have made sense. That would have worked with it. Yeah. Because that would explain the helicopter finding him before the police cars did. That would have explained so much. So much. Context was key. I didn't realise that we were being chased or we didn't realise that the helicopter was on us because I was just speeding along. I get that. When you say, oh, it's because I took a turn. Took a wrong turn. I don't like that. It's a sour taste of it. And I thought, I thought Fraser, or I felt like I could have considered him a friend.
28:15Fraizer Campbell:No, that's not your friend, homie. But he's decided to be saboteur. That is not your friend. He's not my friend. Now he's going to be texting these ex-pro group chats, whether it's Man United, Sunderland, Hole. Oh, I got him. The tax man's rattled. Yes, I'm rattled. Because you lied to me. Do you know what's so funny, Karel? And you're probably going to fire me for this, right? As he was speaking about the chase, it all started to come back to me. I do remember this story. And I think it was... From where? It was national news. Listen, I know you've never read the Echo a day in your life and definitely not the day after he got pulled over.
28:55I'm sure this was reported.
28:59Fraizer Campbell:This was definitely reported. By who? I don't know. Go on BBC News and type it in. He made an illegal left turn. You see what I said? No, but do you know what my issue is with it? He could have said that he made the turn. Corral, we just got done, mate. And didn't stop. Corral, we got done. Nah, man. We got done. We got done, Corral. Let's just accept it. Fair enough. Fair is fair. The story's true. There's evidence. It's approved. It's all that stuff. But I feel like leaving out and putting in specific things is nasty work. It's actually nasty work. If that's the game that we're playing, then I think we need to lock in a bit more and understand that these people could still be muddying the truth.
29:42Yes. Within the truth.
29:44Fraizer Campbell:Yes. So it's true, but I just left that out. But is it true? Is it true? Fraser, we'll have words anyway. You know where to find me. I know where to find you. You don't need to send me an owl. I've got your details. I'm upset. I'm upset. It's all right. Because we've had a stinker. We've had a stinker, but I don't think it's our fault. It's not our fault. It's not our fault. We'll put this one in the bank. Guys, I'm only human. I'm only human. I just wear a trench coat. Just wrap it up. Yes, Fraser, you win. I want to thank Anita for your assistance today. You've been great. I know. I want to thank Fraser, top guy, top fella.
30:23You know, when I met him, he was a lovely guy, honestly. Honestly, I didn't realise it was him at first. Like, I knew he looked like him.
30:29Fraizer Campbell:But when he introduced himself, I was like, bro, it's Fraser Campbell. And he was genuinely, all night, the nicest guy. Love that. Life of the party as well. He loves a good dance. Wait, he remembered. He always had it in the back of his head. I need to get home to the family. And I like a guy that's like that. Family man. I also want to thank you guys who are watching and listening from wherever you are in the world. If there's anyone that you think has slipped the net, needs investigating, needs are analytical and detective skills. Don't judge us by today. And I'm going to use a quote from Wolf of Wall Street.
31:00Fraizer Campbell:Go on. Don't judge me by my wins. Judge me by my losses because I have so few. If you believe in me, you believe in us, me and Anita. Make sure to reach out to us. Social media, email, owl. And like I always say, the owl is a... Oh my gosh. Excuse me, can you let me land? Sorry, sorry, sorry. The owl is an effective form of communication. It was just outdated by the technological age. Yes. Attach it to the owl's ankle, say my name, and it will find the trench. And shout tax man as it takes off. It will find me. See you next week.

This week, former Manchester United, Sunderland, Cardiff City and Huddersfield Town striker Fraizer Campbell submits three stories from his career, but only one is true. Was Campbell really caught up in a police helicopter pursuit after taking a wrong turn through the city centre? Did he secretly climb out of a hotel window to collect chicken and chips on the eve of a Championship playoff final? Or did he ignore manager Steve Bruce's instructions and sneak off to Las Vegas for 48 hours with team-mate Titus Bramble during an international break?
Armed with photographs, football knowledge and a healthy dose of suspicion, Karel and Anita investigate every claim before Campbell returns to reveal the truth.
Karel Prince: Lie Detector is presented by Karel Prince and Anita Abayomi and is a Sport Social Studios production for BBC Sounds.
