AI engineers are now being paid more money than your favorite athletes, and Binance founder CZ, he tells me where he thinks Bitcoin and crypto are going in the next decade. We're live today from the desk of Anthony Pompliano.
0:27It's easy to get lost in the weeds of the day-to-day developments in finance. Now, you've got to keep track of individual stocks, different economic reports, geopolitical news, interest rate decisions, and much, much more. Information comes at you fast and furious on the internet every single day. And if you're not careful, you're going to get sucked into the daily gyrations of markets and you'll miss the most important thing sitting right in front of your face. Open your eyes. I recently forced myself to go through an exercise that created immense clarity for me. I'm going to share with you exactly what I did.
0:54I asked myself if you could only pick one data point or trend that matters for the next decade, what would it be and what should you do in your portfolio to benefit? This thought exercise had many potential answers. Artificial intelligence, that's obviously gonna be big. Humanoid robots, that's probably gonna be more abundant than humans globally. And innovations happening across space, biotech, drones, or self-driving cars, those can't be ignored either. But none of these themes stuck with me as the single most important thing. The only answer I kept coming back to was they are never, ever, ever going to stop debasing the US dollar.
1:26It really is that simple. The national debt is exploding higher and the United States will have to systematically debase the currency. That means that all assets priced in dollars are going much higher. And we're already seeing the effects of this complete mess. Adam Kubisi highlights that this has been one of the worst years in history for the U.S. dollar. The U.S. dollar index fell 10 % in the first half of 2025. It's the worst first half performance since the end of the gold-backed Brentwood system in 1973. This also marks the weakest performance for any six-month period since 2009. And further, the Bloomberg Dollar Spot Index has posted its sixth consecutive monthly decline, which is its longest losing streak in eight years.
2:04And if that was not bad enough, Adam goes on to show that the US M2 money supply, that bad boy jumped 4.5 % year over year in the month of May. It is now a record$21.9 trillion with a T. This marks the 19th consecutive monthly increase, and it has now surpassed the previous all-time high of$21.8 trillion back in March of 22. Now further, inflation adjusted M2 money supply, that rose 2 % year over year last month, largest increase since 2022. Since 2020, US M2 money supply has risen$7 trillion, or 45%. The purchasing power of the US dollar is in an absolute eternal bear market. But take a look at this visual.
2:42You don't have to be Albert Einstein to see the long-term trend. Just open your eyes. So the question becomes, what the heck do you do in your portfolio if the government is going to destroy the purchasing power of the US dollar? Simple. You buy as much Bitcoin as you possibly can. Now, why would you do that? Based on research from Sam Callahan and Lynn Alden, Bitcoin has become the global liquidity barometer. Their report points out that Bitcoin moves in the direction of global liquidity 83 % of the time in any given 12-month period. That is higher than any other major asset class, and it makes it a strong barometer of liquidity conditions.
3:14So stop getting caught up in the day-to-day noise of financial markets. Who cares what the media is saying? Who cares what's going on on X? Zoom out for a second. Ask yourself, what is the single most important trend for the next decade and what should I do about it? For me personally, it's clearly the U.S. dollar debasement that is going to continue happening. And Bitcoin is the solution to the undisciplined monetary and fiscal policy. Now, it may sound crazy, but the Bitcoiners are right. And they have memed the solution of Bitcoin into a$2 trillion asset that Wall Street is now clamoring to get their hands on.
3:45It's an incredible world we live in, but the Bitcoiners are right. Bitcoin's going higher, and they're never, ever going to stop debasing the US dollar. Did you know that AI engineers are now making more money than LeBron James, Shohei Ohtani, or Juan Soto? It's literally the revenge of the nerds. Let me explain what's happening here. Now, what we know is that a new Wired article just came out from Kylie Robeson, and it says that Mark Zuckerberg is offering top research talent pay packages of up to$300 million over four years, with more than$100 million in total compensation for the first year.
4:17Meta has made at least 10 of these offers to open AI staffers. The talent war is real. This is absolutely incredible. Now, you may say that actually Meta is wasting money here, but before you think that, let me explain one thing that recently happened. There's a brand new report that came out that shows that the AI talent may actually be worth it. Why? Artificial intelligence was measured against doctors to be able to diagnose over 300 complex cases. And guess what happened? The artificial intelligence was four times higher accuracy, but it cost 20 % less. That's right. AI in the medical field specifically was four times more accurate, cost 20 % less.
4:53No wonder all these tech companies want to have all the AI talent working on their team. It's like all of the different aspects of sports now brought to the business world. And that's why you're seeing these massive pay packages go out. Now, TPPN, which is basically the ESPN of the business world, They recently interviewed Kylie Robeson, and she had some great things to say about Meta's hiring strategy and the challenges of attracting top talent. Here's what Kylie had to say. I will be impressed if they get someone of Ilya Suskiver's capabilities. I think that the people who want to build superintelligence are true believers, and you're giving them a value proposition of, we will give you so much money, but you're making superintelligence for Mark Zuckerberg.
5:35and I think that some of the best brains that really believe in AGI's prosperous future or perhaps the end of humanity don't necessarily want to do that for Mark Zuckerberg so I will be impressed if he gets one of those minds he still has about 50 people he wants to hire for this team so it's just going to keep coming I think a lot of them are going to continue coming from the top labs but what the vision is what Mark's vision is I'm waiting to see So it's obvious these people are being paid a lot of money but you know what I think I think that they're actually underpaid. You know why I think they're underpaid?
6:08Because if you've got a company that's worth hundreds of billions of dollars and you become the leader of artificial intelligence, you're going to be worth trillions and trillions of dollars. And so if you got to pay an AI engineer, a hundred million dollars or$300 million over four years, you're getting a great deal. And so of course, Meta and others, they're going to start handing out all kinds of compensation packages to these engineers. And like I said, it's the revenge of the nerds. Yeah, Yeah, they didn't play basketball. They didn't play baseball and they didn't play football. But these guys are getting paid even better than all of those favorite athletes.
6:40I recently had the pleasure of sitting down with CZ. He's the founder of Binance. He's one of the world's wealthiest people. And frankly, he's got an incredible story. He came from a rural village in China where there was no running water and no electricity. To now see where he is is absolutely ridiculously awesome. But CZ is not somebody who looks in the past. He's not looking in the rearview mirror. He constantly is looking through the windshield into the future. And so I asked him what he thought was on the horizon for Bitcoin and crypto as an industry. Here's what CZ had to say. Right now, we're extremely bullish, right?
7:11With U.S., the world's largest, most powerful government adopting, pushing crypto. Now we're seeing you launched a BTC treasury public company. That's fantastic. So I think we're going to see a lot more institutional adoption, both on the ETFs, on the public treasuries, BTC treasuries. A couple of companies launched B &B treasuries, the Ethereum treasuries. There's a whole bunch of... So I think we're going to see the traditional equity markets coming into crypto in a big way. We're going to see a lot more innovation in terms... I think there's going to be an intersection between AI... Well, there is an intersection between AI and blockchain.
7:48I think that's only going to get bigger. And I think I'm also seeing a lot of governments adopting blockchain for government solutions, like with decentralized IDs, land title rights, healthcare benefits, welfare distributions, taxes, all of that stuff is happening too. So I think we're finally seeing blockchain expanding beyond just a trading or finance single dimension kind of thing. Now it's going to a multi-dimension thing. So I think all of those things are happening, and all of those things are really, really good. So I think with, I actually didn't expect, if you asked me this like nine months ago, I would not have said this, like we would be in this kind of environment.
8:30But this also speaks volumes to the government structure where the elections can change, can bring in new ideas and innovative leading ideas very quickly. So I think with the U.S. leading, the rest of the world will follow on the policies. and we would love to help the U.S. to become the capital of crypto. We would like to contribute, but right now we're limited in some ways. So we hope to be able to contribute more in the future. But it's kind of crazy, right? Like you guys are the biggest crypto exchange in the world. You're not in the United States. We want to be. And also when we look at the market, right, the U.S.
9:07exchanges charge about 10 to 20 X of these fees. You really charge. Everything else in the world you buy, you buy them cheaper from the U.S. Like I use Amazon, right? Everything else you buy on Amazon is cheaper in the US. It ships faster. Anything you do, it's cheaper in the US. Hamburgers are cheaper in the US. But it's only in crypto that the US consumers pay a much higher price right now. And you have a much more limited product offering. And we would love to contribute. But there are regulations in place. So we need to go step by step. Well, it seems like if you guys want to be in the United States, this administration wants to be the crypto capital of the world, then maybe there's something to be done there.
9:47We would love to be part of the contribution to help to make that happen. Now, of course, it's not surprising. CZ, one of the leaders of the crypto world, saying that he's extremely bullish. Duh, so am I. That's why him and I are friends. And I think that CZ has been an important person, not only for building the Bitcoin and crypto industry, but he's also increased access for financial assets to millions and millions of people globally. And we need more people like CZ working hard to create technology that drives an actual solution into these people's lives all around the world. That's it for today's show.
10:19Hope you guys are enjoying it. I'm having a blast putting it together. Please make sure that you're following us on X and make sure that you're subscribed on the YouTube channel. I'll see you guys live on Monday after the July 4th holiday from the desk of Anthony Pompliano.
