0:00I think what this list proves is that people love lists. I have had this idea was like, we should make a list of the top agencies because I know that agencies would like want to be on said list. I just don't think it can come from us. It has to come from like a creative boom type place. We could do some sort of like first take bit with ranking lists. I mean, here's the thing. Congratulations to all 25 agencies who made the creative boom list. We're very happy for you. I'm gonna let you finish but Center Center Design Studio LLC should have been on that list

0:41three two one Kevin what's up nothing much what type of lists should we start making uh yeah most uh handsome podcasters in the game yeah best design it's funny like the day that list came out I saw there was another list about like top design podcasts. And I was like, oh man, maybe we'll get on this one. Not even on that one either. We can't make any lists, Kevin. Are there other design podcasts? That's what I was saying. I was like, come on, we got to be on this list. And nope, not there either. Probably sports podcast. We're probably like top sports design slash sports podcast out there. Oh my god.

1:19For sure. No, Kevin, I, um, if you don't know what we're talking about, we're talking about the creative boom top 25 most popular design studios as voted by their peers list. Nobody asked me. Yeah, I wasn't included in the survey. And Kevin, here's an official quote. I'm not mad. I'm inspired. Okay, that's good. Yeah, because here's the deal. I've had a banger of a week. A banger of a week. Center has been everywhere. Biro is the brand. You've seen it. And I'm going to be honest with you, Kevin. It's been hard to focus with all this hoopla happening around. And, you know, once you hang out with Tom and Zendaya, you know, it's hard to go back to regular life.

1:59You know, this is the struggles I've been having this week. And this list snapped my ass right back into reality. Oh, that's good. You know what I mean? That's good. I feel like because if you floated off any further, I feel like you might start being like Kenny Powers. That's right. I would just float it in my head. It couldn't even get in doorways. And, you know, we're not even in the top 25 agencies, Kevin. So we got a lot of work to do. And for that, I'm great. Yeah, we got to be cooler, right? Yeah, we got to be more popular. Yeah. Hey. I've always concerned myself with being really popular.

2:30That's true. Exactly. That's all I've wanted in life. Yeah, as popular as Pentagram. And I want to be voted by my peers as being popular. Yeah. So if you guys could just, you know. Yeah, hey. If all of our listeners out there could vote for us next year. Yeah, on the next one, please. Please, please. It's a big hit to my ego. Yeah, it would mean a lot to us. Because I was under the impression that I personally was just kind of more popping than I was. Yeah, yeah. I guess I'm a fucking loser. This isn't about you, Kevin. It's about the team. The team, the team, the team. No, I mean, I do a lot of heavy lifting in the popularity around here.

3:01Oh, yeah. I mean... But I guess I'm just a fucking loser. I mean, I guess as a captain of the team, Kevin, you should take responsibility. I appreciate that, that you're willing to say, on me. Yeah, this is on me. I don't know. I guess Creative Boom thinks I'm a fucking loser. So what's the point anymore? Yeah, why even come to work? This is sending me into a downward spiral. I don't know if I'll ever recover from this. The way I see it, Kevin, we're focused on next week. That's right. We got another game to play next week. We can't focus on the past list. We got to focus on the future list. I know, but that list was the Super Bowl, Alex.

3:35Dude, but you know what? That's why you play the games, and we'll be back next year. Yeah, we'll be back. That's right. We'll be back. We got to reassess the coaching staff. We got to assess. We got to put more hours into the tape room. We got a lot to work on. I'm almost worried that I'm going to end up on a top 25 least popular people in design. That's the list we should make, the 25 least popular design studios. That's voted by their peers. That would get some clicks. That would get a ton of attention. I wonder if there'd be any overlap on the list. I'm sure that might be a little bit. Oof.

4:07Yeah, that would be pretty hilarious. Kevin, it's still not Halloween. I don't care about the list. No, we don't care about the list. We don't care about the list. The list is, it doesn't matter. No, this is a bit. Yeah. Bureau in stores now. Kevin, it's still not Halloween yet, but we're getting closer somehow. I think Halloween has come and passed. It's amazing. I think it's come and gone and it hasn't even happened yet. Yeah. That's a first from me. I went too hard this weekend for my brain. I was going to say, Kevin, I'm out. In a rare moment for us, we ran into each other at a Halloween party thrown by our friend Thomas, friend of the studio.

4:44And the best part about it was it was a bit dark. We were in the backyard and I didn't recognize you because you had a shaved head and a shaved face. Yeah. And you didn't recognize me because I had a wig on. Yeah. And for like six seconds, we had a moment of like Alex, Kevin. That was nice. And that rolled. Yeah, that was pretty exceptional. You were dressed as the Rizzler. I was dressed as the Rizzler. Who was a great costume. Yeah. Thank you. I could see where you had to explain to some people. Yeah, it was kind of a brutal costume. I don't think we're there yet in society to be dressed like the Rizzler.

5:24Because even around some of my peers, I just had to keep explaining it. And I'm a little exhausted from that. Yeah. I think particularly. Because I just don't understand how people aren't aware. Yeah, they're not in. I mean, he was on Fallon last night. Yeah, that's... Maybe if Holly... How do we not know? Maybe if we dress as the Rizzler next week, And now that he's done Fallon, I think maybe people would be more in the know. I forgot that I ordered two shirts. So I'll probably be wearing it on the next episode, too. Okay, cool. Well, I thought it was a great costume. I really appreciated how young you looked.

5:58I felt like you were able to get to at least a teenage age sort of aesthetic. Yeah, I do kind of like, I mean, I love buzzing the head every once in a while. It feels good. It feels good to change it up, burn it down, rebuild. You got the Riz face, really. It's so dialed. I've been practicing. Yeah, no, you really got it down. And I guess the question is, is it downhill from here for the Rizzler and Big Justice? Because I think going on Fallon and him being like, oh man, the rib I do and the Riz face. It's probably... Bro, you loved Fallon last week. No, I love Tom Holland. Tom Holland is the best.

6:36Friend in the studio. Jimmy Fallon is most insufferable late night host there is out there. He just is. It's just hard to watch. He's just so fake. Personally, I'm more of a Seth Meyers guy. So I enjoyed the interview. I think Jimmy Fallon's really real. I think he's the realest guy out there, dude. I mean, I think from what I've heard, Jimmy Fallon like in a real life is like a cool, fun guy to be with. He gets fucked up. He's a big drinker. I feel like it's not his. I don't know. I don't want to be. Yeah. I don't want to be smearing anybody's name. Yeah, talk about it. Let's move on. But I was Netflix.

7:15My wife was chill. Why did you have devil horns on? Because it was a horny Netflix executive. Oh, okay. That was kind of the general vibe of it. That was my one question. And to be honest, I found those horns in my closet. Oh, great. And I was like, oh, this is going on with the costume. It was very much a last minute ordeal. and I was pretty proud to come you know to sort of come together with something that wasn't you should have been the Rizzler could have been the Rizzler you could have shaved your face and been the Rizzler I could have been the Rizzler I don't know me as a 40 year old man can pass as a 12 year old boy quite like you can Kevin maybe shave your face I mean potentially I will say in a very like super bad way like I do think if you were cast as a high school kid in a Judd Apatow film you could pull it off yeah i could do it i think you could do it uh kevin we gotta talk about the duane wade statue because i gotta say something that's on my mind and that's why we have this podcast um for those that didn't see it this week duane wade uh they were uh unveiled a statue in miami for for duane obviously a hall of famer a superstar a legend of miami and that team and they unveiled it in a very dramatic way.

8:33It was like in a box that had flames and then like a whole bunch of smoke and then when you took a look at it, it was it was incredibly terrible. I guess the way I would describe it is it looks nothing like fucking Dwayne Wade whatsoever. Yeah, it kind of looks like a creative player in 2K. Just a generic nobody face. Some people People were saying it looked like Tony Allen. Okay. I saw people say it looked like Lawrence Fishburne a little bit. A little bit. I see that. Yeah. And so the reason why I want to talk about this is I am convinced that these statues, that they're making these statues bad purposely.

9:13Yeah, probably. Like, there's just no fucking way that they are so bad at making these statues. Like, with all the technology, with all the ability, we can't possibly believe that these statues are just all coming out terrible. Right? The Ronaldo won. And then, you know, just one by one, these statues just look nothing like the athletes. I mean, bronze is probably a hard medium to do. I've never personally made a statue. I'm sure it's difficult. But also, like, you know, presumably the Miami Heat paid a lot of money for the statue. And, I mean, I don't think it's the craziest thing to say that they could be.

9:54It could be a little fishy with the purposeful bad statue just to generate some press. Yeah. And that's why I think it's bad is because when it comes down to it. Yeah, nobody cares about us. No one cares about a really well-designed, perfectly nice statue outside of the ballpark. The only way that these things get talked about is when they are so horrifically awful that everyone is like, what the hell happened here? and then I think what they've done in years past, which I'll be interested to see if they do that here, they remake them. We're going to be like, they take his head off and put on a new one.

10:34But like, yeah, I just think they have like, I guess there's just no way they're just that bad at making these statues. Yeah. I would agree with you there. I don't. Am I just, a third eye is open. It just has to be something behind it. There's just no way that there's making these statues is that hard. They have to like. I mean, it's a good way to get some press clippings for like one or two days. They're more, the amount of attention that would be on this thing if it was a good statue would be minimal. Zero. The fact that this is the worst statue and everyone's like, this is the worst statue ever made.

11:11Then it becomes a huge story. And so I guess if I'm Dwayne Wade, I'm happy about this. He might be in on it. He might be in on it. I think so. He had a quote. I think it's great. I think he's in on this. Then he was like, who is this guy? It doesn't look anything like it. That was pretty funny. He did handle that very well. I liked what he had a nice... Which, to your point, could be just him being in on it. Yeah, I think so. Again, it's like national news. Dwayne Wade's statue and the artist and people saying, I feel good about it. Good. Oh, man. How do you feel good about that? I mean, it legitimately looks nothing like the guy.

11:53It's just not even close. I guess basketball's back. That's really the big story here is that the NBA season is back. Hoops, hoops, hoops. We had a sports equinox on Monday night. What? Oh, is that what? All the sports. You know? All the sports going. All the sports. You hate to see the Yankees really falling apart here in the World Series. You hate to see it. Truly couldn't have happened to a worse team. Yeah. You know? It's just you hate. I don't really hate to see it. I personally love to see it. Yeah. Obviously, I don't want the Dodgers to win, but in that matchup, someone's got to win. Let's go with Tani.

12:30Yeah. Let's get that ring. Bronny is in the NBA. That happened, Kevin. Yeah. Was it a beautiful moment? Did you shed a tear? I was watching when he checked in. Oh, yeah. I couldn't believe it. Yeah. I legitimately could not believe he was going in the game in like the first or second quarter. Really? You didn't think he was going to get in? No. Really? I mean, I thought that they would, with all the attention and the eyeballs of the world waiting for this moment, I felt like it was the right move to just put him in the game. Yeah, it's sweet. It's a sweet thing. I didn't think of them checking in at the scorer's table together.

13:04Whoever thought of that, you know, as a branding, a photo op moment. It's sweet, yeah. I love a father and son. How angry slash disappointed is LeBron and that Bronny is just close enough to be an NBA basketball player, but he just isn't there. Probably not angry at all. You don't think so? He just loves his son and he's happy for this moment. Yeah, absolutely. I just don't want to – He probably needs some time in the G League. Yeah, I feel like he's just not ready. They're going to set him down. They should. I feel like he's not really ready. I think that they said that they were going to do it after either this home stretch or this away stretch.

13:42I don't know what their schedule looks like. Has he been playing in these first weeks? um i don't believe so yeah and he's not he's not scoring like he's not playing he's not like he's just not ready yeah but lebron filled his car with fruity pebbles you see that i did see that in a good brand moment for fruity pebbles yeah bro loves fruity pebbles i mean fruity pebbles are pretty good i was uh sick uh last week and i just had a craving for cinnamon toast crunch and uh i ordered some orange juice some gatorade and uh and a box and it was kind of milk almond milk almond milk i'm an almond milk guy these days that's really where i'm at i should get back on the cow brother yeah i mean listen i love regular milk there's nothing wrong with that at all in my mind i just i'm just an almond milk guy i don't really have a reason for it but uh yeah cinnamon toast crunch is fucking awesome yeah it's great like the box is long gone and i got it on yeah it was like just it just every bite you know it's like really crunchy and sugary and yeah it's messed up it's so fucking good it's just i was astonished every every meal i had i was like you know what i want after this meal a bowl of cinnamon toast yeah it's dessert it's dessert it really is uh sometimes i look back and i'm like damn i cannot believe i used to eat that before like going to school that's an actual uh breakfast yeah it's insane that that would be given to children at any point in their lives yeah i mean no wonder i was a horrible student in grade school uh so lebron filled brani's car with fruity pebbles it was sort of like a hazing thing before the first game and i i i found this to be a bit cheesy i mean it's a brand moment what are you talking about no it's a brand moment but it just felt really staged yeah duh i obviously i but i just i don't know this it felt very 2008 it was very yeah it was really cinematic yeah it It was a little too cinematic and it felt like it was trying to be real.

15:39I think that's the problem. It was like, it wasn't that it was fake. It was fake and trying to pretend like it was real. And so LeBron filled up Bronny's car completely with 40 pebbles. And then like... Good prank. And then he like drove away and like put the window up and like kind of did like a smiley LeBron face, which I thought that was kind of funny. But yeah, I'm just not sure this type of marketing works anymore. It just feels very of a different time. I mean I'm not going to go out and eat Fruity Pebbles but I enjoyed the video you enjoyed the video LeBron was funny in it LeBron is funny LeBron is funny, I will give him that I'm still watching this Starting 5 Netflix show and yeah Anthony Edwards is just the best he's the fucking best and that's my number one takeaway from that show is Anthony Edwards is legitimately confirmed Nick confirmed best player in basketball will be a New York Knick?

16:35I mean, that would be, I would be so, I mean, he's legitimately the best player. I think he will be the best player in the league, if not in the next two, three years. Not Wendy. I mean, he's just a stud. And he is just, and he's so fun and like cool and charismatic and charming and funny and just the dude loves to hoop. Yeah. It's just like, he's just awesome. Dude loves to hoop. Literally the like first scene and they're like, how much do you love to dunk? And he's like, actually not really he's like it hurts my hand i was like that's such a fucking dope thing like to say he's like i do it and i'm a fucking man at it but it hurts my hand oh poor guy you know and i just i don't know i just like i like how real he is and i think uh there's a couple clips in the show where he um like the the birth of his child oh yeah he misses almost because he wanted have to play the first half of a regular season game, which is ridiculous.

17:35Kevin, there's a new campaign in New York called New York Needs Organs, and it's encouraging people to donate organs for those people in need. And they have removed the heart from I Heart New York and put that around the city. Yeah. Milton Glaser's back. Yeah. Milton Glaser. Big way. RIP. This is pretty smart. Yeah. I think it's pretty smart. It's a great campaign. It's one of those things, just simple, smart, well-executed. Are you an organ donor? I'm not. I've kept all my organs inside of my body for the moment. They're not going to harvest them while you're still alive. Oh, you mean I – next question, Kevin.

18:15I'm an organ donor. Wow. I don't care. Wow. Yeah, thank you. I might not be on the Creative Boom, the top 25 most popular design studio list, but I am an organ donor. Wow, Kevin. Absolutely. confirmed wow wow what yeah you know i'm just i'm just like kind of a good person yeah how brave yeah i'm just wow you know some people are just good people yeah some people care about others and that's uh kevin bittori i mean who do what do i care if i'm if i'm dead you know take him but what if like the frozen like uh sort of uh thing where we can kind of put people back together again in the future are you getting are you gonna get cryovac or whatever the fuck they call it are Is that you?

18:56Yeah, that's me, dude. I ain't got money for any cryo shit. Not right now. Not with that attitude. Maybe in the future, if I do, I'll change it. But I don't know. What do I care? You don't want to be in a cryotherapy, in a sort of Willie Mays style? Not really. I don't know. Is Willie Mays still alive? I'll be all right if they don't resuscitate me in the future to come back. I don't know. I'll be all right. sorry willie mays died this year so r.i.p willie mays um who is the guy that got frozen disney walt disney walt disney is frozen yeah walt disney is frozen for like um yeah he's also ted williams bad guy ted i got willie mays and ted williams frozen ted williams is frozen in two pieces jeez what do they expect like they're gonna come and fucking sew them back together Get over yourself.

19:50And what? He's going to come back and he's going to be old as fuck? Dude, his body is suspended in liquid nitrogen and his head is separate. That's insane. That is full on crazy. What do you expect? You're going to come back and be rejuvenated into some old ass body? That's going to suck. Yeah. Most medical experts believe it will never be possible. I mean, listen, who's to say? There's a lot of things that happen in today's world that you never thought would be possible. Sure. So he's frozen and in two pieces. Good for him. Yeah, that's that's that's pretty insane. Yeah, I guess the person when they're cryo sleeping, they're calling it a person does not age.

20:34But yeah, I guess I mean, what age was he? I guess he was probably frozen at 83. So he comes back and he's gonna be 83. And yeah. And what? What? I mean, he's not gonna play baseball again, but he's gonna he'll be alive. That would be pretty impressive. He'll be conscious. What? Like what's, I don't know. Doesn't see not appealing to me. What? Having a sort of decapitated head and just being like old and, and, and being put back together. Yeah. Being put back together for what? What's, what's the point? What are they going to regenerate to live again, to die and then come back to life. I think that would be pretty fucking impressive.

21:14Personally. Yeah. I think nah, just take me. I'm good. I'm good. You don't want to come back? No. All right. This is getting dark. Kevin, the Vlasic, you know the famous pickle brand? Yeah, I do. They're jumping on the trend of pickleball, and they have kind of a fun idea where they have launched Vlasic pickle balls where they're like puff snacks in the shape of circles. They kind of look like little tennis balls, and the packaging has a bit of a racket on it. Dill pickle corn. Wood. Wood. Wood. Yeah, wood. Yeah. It won't be available until late November. But Kevin, how do you feel about your culture, people that love pickles being sort of the - I don't know.

21:59I think - You're here for this? I mean, I'd probably try them one time. Yeah. I don't know. I like a cheese ball. So let's just say I want like a pickle ball. Yeah. And I love how pickles are coming into the forefront of food culture. There's a lot of like, you know, pickle juice is really big right now. Yeah. I was in Charlotte a month ago and they had like pickle. They had a Mount Olive pickle shots. Oh, shots. Yeah. In the terminal. Okay. You could buy like, you know, gallons of it at Costco, I believe. It's hot right now. Yeah. It's hydrating. People like it. People love to hydrate right now.

22:38Hydrating is hot. That's a big trend. That's a fact. You got to stay hydrated out there. Got to stay hydrated with salt and electrolytes and whatever other stuff. Yeah. I'm here for it. I like... You like hydrating? Yeah. I like hydrating. I like pickles. I like pickle juice. Eh. Hydrating. I think it's overrated. Yeah. I think it's generally like... I think it's helpful, but I think the American diet has so much salt in it that you're probably okay. well i think if you're subscribing to the american you know classic american diet i'm not sure if you're really concerned about hydrating yeah you're probably right i mean you can also um i don't know like if you're working out and stuff yeah it's good to replenish your body with electrolytes and and stuff yeah i'm uh yeah no i i think it's i think it's maybe i should start incorporating some hydrating yeah you could probably eat the eat the pickle balls i'm sure that'll help you hydrate.

23:36That's definitely good. That's the key here. Yeah. Yeah. I started Seed, the supplement company. So I'm starting to fuck around with some supplements. Yeah. I was doing - I need to stop up my hydration game. I've fallen off, but this summer I was doing like, I'd wake up and I'd just do a little sprinkle of salt in my 32 ounce Nalgene and I'd crush it. Whoa. Really? Just a little bit of salt in the old - Yeah. And I just - I drink it first thing, you know, probably take me like 10, 20 minutes to get through it. And I felt like it helped me stay hydrated more throughout the day. I felt like I retained a little bit more water.

24:13Yeah. One of the things I'm really, I'm really into is sleep. I feel like sleep is the key to like everything. I think being hydrated is great, but if you get like three hours of sleep, you're going to, it's not going to work. I think, you know, being hydrated goes in tandem with sleep. You think so? Overall wellness. Yeah. No, I mean, I'm into this new trend of wellness, Kevin. I'm early, right? I'm pretty early. I'm always pushing water on people. Yeah. I think it's, you know, if you drink a lot of water, I think it solves a lot of like a good amount of problems that, you know, a good amount of like mundane, small problems that people come or encounter throughout the day, you know, a little headache.

24:54Yeah. Yeah. Just drink some water. Yeah, for sure. I mean, water is solid. I fucking love water. Wow. I push. I'm a big water guy. Big water guy. Big water guy. I drink a lot of it. Yeah. I mean, listen, Kevin, if you haven't heard or haven't been drinking water, we front and center approved. Kevin, how do you feel about V8? Where do you stand on V8? Every once in a while. Yeah. Yeah. It's got a time and a place. Take it in Bloody Mary. Yeah. Once in a blue moon. You know, it's funny. I saw some anti-Bloody Mary stuff online. About what? Like on Twitter. No, people are just saying it's a trash drink and it's gross.

25:35I'm going to take a very bold claim. Bloody Mary is in my top four Mount Rushmore of alcoholic cocktails. Okay. And it's a perfect beverage, brunch beverage. What do you like it? When they bring out the really deluxe one with the rickisserie chicken on top? No, no. That's stuff. I would fuck with that. That's stunt food. I think what I love about a Bloody Mary is that it's sweet, it's spicy, it's kind of savory, and it's delicious. And you could put a little hot sauce in there. Of course, I love it when there's like - Horse radish. Some horse radish or there's some olives. Oh, yeah. Yeah, a couple, you know, a piece of celery in there.

26:20Yeah, I like the accoutrements. Yeah, it comes with a little salad. All the fixings. Yeah, honestly, I will stand up and defend Bloody Marys. I think it's incredible. I also, I'm a big Michelada guy, which is basically beer Bloody Mary. Yeah. So I'm all for this stuff. I'm not a huge V8 guy. Something about it just feels artificial in a way that I'm just kind of not super into. I mean, it's canned. Well, that's it. It's how I can't eat Sabra hummus. Oh, yeah. I mean, that's bad hummus. I just can't eat it. I just find it to be repulsive. If you've had any homemade hummus or any good hummus or even just okay hummus, it becomes, Sabra becomes inedible.

27:04Well, that's the thing. It's like my introduction to hummus was through Sabra. And I remember everyone at school or wherever you bring those packaged hummus to, people just carrots in there. And I would always try to be like, this is fucking disgusting. And it really turned me off to hummus for a long time. It wasn't until I started eating it. Oh, you didn't even like it when you were having it? No, I hated it. I just was like, this is disgusting. I think that it took me going to nice or just good restaurants. Miss Ada? Yeah, Miss Ada. Miss Ada. Yeah. It took me a long time, well into my 20s and 30s, where I was like, oh, you can make really good hummus, and this is what it tastes like for me to turn around on my anti-hummus beliefs.

27:48I was a big hummus guy. Yeah. I mean, I wouldn't say big, but all I knew was Sabra. So at college, there was a really, really good Middle Eastern spot that was like, you could get a sandwich and a big thing of hummus for like eight bucks. Yeah. Just got so fat on that. It was crazy. Yeah. There's something about like the roasted red pepper Sabra hummus that just like, I just, I can't get down with it. It just really turns me off. And so I kind of feel the same way about V8. So the reason why I asked Kevin is because V8 did a partnership with your favorite brand, your Kings, the Grillo's Pickle Company, which there's been some talk about maybe some Grillo's X center.

28:30I was supposed to do something. Oh, shit, Kevin. Is that the reason? But yeah, they're doing a partnership. V8, Grillo's Pickles, Dill Pickle, Bloody Mary, non-alcoholic drink mix, which I'm going to be honest. I would be down for that. I feel like I'd try it. Yeah. I think that's worth giving it a whirl. I put Grillo's pickle juice in a Bloody Mary. It's great. Yeah, it makes a lot of sense. This is like a no-brainer part of the show. The best pickles come in the best pickle juice. Yeah, no, that's fact. It's a match made in heaven. And Grillo's are the best pickles. And so this is a good look for V8, right?

29:01I think Grillo's as a brand is pretty big, right? But they're still independent, at least in my mind. Maybe it's the packaging. I'm not sure about their status of that, but they are big, but they don't feel like Vlasic. They don't feel like Big Pickle. Yeah, they're not. At least they don't feel that way. Yeah, and part of that is probably the design and the branding and everything. But yeah, they don't feel like Big Pickle. And the quality of their pickle. And the quality. Their pickle has been consistent and snappy and crunchy. There's really nothing better than pop it open, a fresh thing at Grillo's and eating that first one.

29:39That first one hits so goddamn hard. so good and and then the plastic container that's impossible to close it's oh they changed it oh they changed it wow i actually didn't i didn't mind that one it's just hard too hard to close you just gotta you gotta know yeah you gotta know yeah which is a problem though i think no you just gotta push it no i know but uh americans are uh you can't give them instructions it has to be like instruction you gotta you just gotta push it down no i get that kevin i know how to close it but it just doesn't do you yeah i i've i've had grills before and i know we have to figure it out but The fact that you have to figure it out, I think, is a problem for people.

30:13Yeah. Kevin, every now and then when you prep these documents for our topics on the show, you break news to me. I will say this. I typically have seen the stories that you've put in here for the most part, but this one I had not seen. Liquid Death releasing sodas. Yeah, shout out to Good Thinking on this one. Yeah. Dr. Death and Killer Cola are two flavors of soda. I am intrigued. Yeah. we'll see cola i probably won't i feel like cola is a tough one to get right and listen i don't want to be critical here but i don't think when i look at this package design it doesn't really read cola to me why because it's not red yeah i just it's it's not red it's not brown or black are you not are you not reading where it says c-o-l-a no i read cola but kevin i don't i want a feel cola.

31:10Oh, you want a feel cola? And I don't know that I am. And I assume Dr. Death is a play on Dr. Pepper. It's hard to say. I don't know. I don't know if we can legally say that. Probably not, but I don't see Dr. Pepper in the purple either. So I, listen. It's like, what are you talking about? It's like maroon. It's like it's a little bit too purple that you can't rip off like one for one. Listen, we've been saying on the pod, we're Liquid Death guys. We support the brand. We were able to, we worked with them for a minute. I'm just saying I don't think that these two cans communicate Cola and Dr. Pepper in the way that I would like them to personally.

31:50That's a personal point of view. And Liquid Death can do no wrong. Their marketing, their brand is incredible. People love this. I'm curious to try the flavor because Cola notoriously is a tough thing to do to get right. Yeah, especially do you think it's going to be like a low-cal play? Yeah, I mean, I'm intrigued. I don't know. I don't know how many calories are in this. Kevin, you've only provided a photo. There wasn't a lot of information. There wasn't a lot of information. This looks like it was taken from a trade show. Yeah, there wasn't a lot of information, and I didn't really look that up.

32:20Well, it probably hasn't launched yet is probably the situation that's happening here. It's a soda leak. Yeah, it hasn't launched yet, so I guess it'll be... We'll get a chance to try it, and shout out to Luke with Death. Kevin, Goldfish is rebranding as Chilean sea bass for more adult appeal. Goldfish announced this week that it would change the name of the more adult-friendly to the more adult-friendly Chilean sea bass crackers. The premise of Goldfish is that this python, what is this? P-sine shaped and smiling crackers. What the fuck? Piscine? Piscine. Thank you, Kevin. Of or concerning fish.

33:04Yeah. Piskeen shaped. Wow, you learn something new every day. Yeah, again, in Smiling Crackers are perceived as a kid's snack, and that it's holding grownups back from truly letting loose and enjoying them. So they're admitting that goldfish are for babies. That's 100 % right. This is a bit we haven't run in a long time. Confirmed, goldfish are for babies. You love goldfish. I do love goldfish, yeah. And I do think that they're a child snack, though. Goldfish are for babies. And I'm glad this bit is back. Yeah. Because I've always felt this way. Cheez-Its and goldfish are both for babies. Cheez-Its are not for babies.

33:43No, cheez-Its are also for babies. Yeah. Cheez-Its are very refined. Do you think that's where some sort of study came back? I mean, they could never go toe-to-toe with Cheez-Its. You're wrong. Goldfish considerably better than Cheez-Its. No. Yeah. It's not even close. Goldfish tastes like cat food. No. No. Wrong. There's like no real cheese even in them. This is at the core of our friendship. Yeah, we've been running this debate for years. This is a core theme of this show is, are you a goldfish guy or are you a Cheez-Its guy? I am firmly a goldfish guy. Yeah, because you're a baby. Yeah. Confirmed, Alex confirmed baby.

34:21Wah, wah, wah. I'm a baby. Yeah, I guess this is a stunt. This comes from an agency called Mischief, not to be confused with mischief. One is spelled M-I-S-C-H-I-E-F and one is spelled M-S-C-H-F and includes a partnership with Dude With Sign, which I guess is still running that guy. Yep, we're still running out that guy with the sign. That guy still has got a sign. And his sign says, Calling Goldfish Crackers Chilean Sea Bass now that I'm an adult. And I'm just going to say it here, Kevin. the dude with the sign had 15 minutes of fame and those 15 minutes were over five to seven years ago it feels um so we got to retire this bit we got to stop you know once he started doing brand partnerships i think that was the beginning of the end yeah and i think it's officially it's a wrap yeah i mean any dude can get a sign like i was not i don't know no and he had some funny uh takes and stuff like that.

35:23And it was a good idea. And it was, you know, fuck Jerry and whatever those guys, you know, it was, it had a moment. Listen, good for them. And I'm sure they got paid. That dude probably got paid way more than you ever would have imagined for this bid. But the bid is over. Yeah. We need a new bid. I feel like this entire thing is just begging for more, like more build out or like. Yeah, chill hands. More like, I don't know, just a bigger deal. and putting a guy with a sign like there's nothing for me like i want to see like a video or like some sort of like documentary about it like some sort of like five minute piece on you know what it means and why it's significant like yeah because i don't think a lot of people know the there's some fish that was rebranded to chilean sea bass to make to make it sound better more appetizing yeah i'm gonna just go out on a limb and say this is a tough like i get the concept I get the idea that goldfish are for kids, Chilean sea bass are for adults.

36:31I happen to love Chilean sea bass, and I think that is the right insight. But there's just something about the execution of it. like it's probably and part of it's because Chilean sea bass is three words and goldfish is one word that it just doesn't really fit into the same like it just doesn't I get the idea like and I think it's a funny thought and like again I can get how they get there people think goldfish are for babies confirmed are for babies and so now we're trying to like change the name for adults. Like, the logic and the thinking and the create, it's a good creative idea and strategy.

37:20I just think the execution of it feels off. They should just, I don't know what they should have done. They needed to go harder. They needed to, like, flush it out and, like, they needed to be absurd with it. I think that's what they're doing. They have this, like, gold plate and, like, a commercial that I'm not going to watch. Oh, they have a commercial? Yeah, I think there's a commercial that goes with it and some guys, like, eating at like some sort of table in a, in a, in a, in a very like, um, what's the chef's table type of vibe. Like I get the thinking, but I just, I just, it's just not totally working for me.

37:55And then it's the God with the sign, like guy with the sign is like, when I see that, I'm like, Oh boy, it just doesn't make any sense. Like, yeah, it's just like so lazy. Yeah. And also like calling goldfish crackers, Chilean sea bass. Now that I'm an adult, it's like, uh, it's clear. something about it feels fishy. Eating Cheez-Its now that I'm an adult. That's what it should be. Yeah, damn, Kevin. The people at the big Cheez-Its are just like, you know, they're just lapping this up. I mean, Cheez-It is a far superior brand. Yeah. You know what they do with the Cheez-It bowl? What do they do?

38:27Everything. Oh, yeah, that's right. Yeah, no. There's no Goldfish bowl. I will say Cheez-Its brand, probably stronger than Goldfish brand. But product, you gave me two bags or two boxes, and I was like, which one do I want? You want the baby snack. I want the baby snack. It's for babies. Listen, I'm not going to bring it to a meeting and be like, hey, man, I'm rolling up with my goldfish crackers. What did you bring? But in the closed proximity of my own home, I'll fuck up a bag. Fair enough. I'll fuck up a bag. Kevin, speaking of bags, Kevin, Kate Spade, known for their fashion bags, is partnering with M &M, known for their colorful candy lentils.

39:10Kate Spade loves a collab. A partnership, a brand partnership. It's been doing a lot of collabs this year. Yeah. And so they have made a line of bags that look like little M &M clutches and little M &M lentils. And I got to say, this looks, I think this is pretty cool. I like it. I think there's been a lot of this happening over the years, like where people have done, sort of taken their brand and brought it into different places. The artist, what's his name? Nick Bentle. Have you seen that guy? He makes the pasta boxes into handbags. Okay, yeah, yeah. And obviously the Balenciaga Doritos bag.

39:51You remember that? And so there's been this really interesting intersection of consumer packaged goods and fashion. Yeah, food and fashion. Food, fashion. Fashion and food and bags too specifically. Yeah, and packaging and sort of all that in the mix and high, low, and what does it all mean? And I think this is just trying to jump into that. And I like it. Like, I saw some people online that were kind of hating on this. And I think maybe that speaks more to the fatigue of this type of idea or this idea of like mixing fashion and sort of like packaged goods. But I think this is well executed. I think maybe people don't love Kate Spade as a brand.

40:31I don't know that much about Kate Spade. I think people do. people like kate spade i think so i don't know i don't know anything i thought the execution of this was quite was quite elevated and listen i i'm not gonna go out and buy myself a green m &m you know sort of handbag but i kind of like it i think the way it looks like the leather and the roundness of the bag or even some of the handbags that look like dumbbells like i just thought it was well executed i thought the photo shoot looked pretty good and i don't know why everyone's uh so mad about this yeah that's my that's my from outside of the club that's my two cents yeah I think the bag's cool.

41:08That's about all I got to say. I don't have any hot takes on this. I don't like that they say this iconic collaboration with M &M's delivers in a way that puts front and center our Gen Z customer. That feels a little cringy. I like their use of front and center. Shout out to us. They were just baiting us. They were. That's true. They wanted to be on the pod. Come on the pod, M &M's. And Kate Spade. M &M's brand has been committed to bringing people together through colorful fun. Like, not every brand needs to be about bringing people together. Honestly, please. Like, M &M's don't bring people together.

41:49Yeah, they do. No, they don't. People just eat a bag of M &M's and they feel joy. That's great. They actually divide us because of the politics of the little lentils. Yeah. they divide us yeah m &ms divide us they're very divisive candy yeah like i just don't understand why everything like what and even the fact that m &ms even if m &ms did bring people together what does that have anything to do with partnering with kate spade to make handbags brand strategy bro yeah i don't know we hope the special collection will surprise and delight our fans as they rock their favorite brands in an iconic new way like we're just jamming our strategy in here, which I love M &M's, peanut M &M's.

42:32I saw an article this week that said that they were the best. They were the healthiest Halloween candy that you can eat. And I assume that's because M &M's have peanuts or peanut M &M's and protein. And so, and that's, that's a good snack. Yeah. I'm sure M &M wrote that article. Yeah. So I'm here for all this. The yellow M &M wrote that article. I'm here for this. I like the, what they called it, arm candy. That's good. That's That's good. That's good. Yeah, that's good copywriting. And the bags look good and the photo shoot look good. And so I don't know. I'm here for this. And stop hating. Well, you stop hating about their brand strategy.

43:10No, I was. M &Ms bring people together. How the fuck do M &Ms bring people together? Because you got a bag and I pour a little in your hand? Yeah. Okay. Let me get some of those M &Ms, dude. Or me with my homies talking about how sexy that green M &M is. That brings us together. That's something we can all agree on. No, that did. That green M &M was so goddamn sexy. That definitely brought people together. You do bring up a good point there. That is facts. That story, which... My green M &M fan club would beg to differ. Yeah. I'm still disappointed in them for not leveraging that in a better way.

43:44Remember the Klammen M &Ms? Yeah. What a story. Who could forget? I guess we're... What year are we in? That was like two years ago. Where am I? What year am I in? No, I guess that was a Super Bowl moment. And Kevin, you know, we're, what are we, a couple months out from the Super Bowl? I feel like it's October, but we're really in November, which means it's pretty much the holidays, which means we're back to work and we're thinking about the Super Bowl. Halloween is kind of the witching hour for NFL teams. Wow, you're right. It's the real-life witching hour. It's kind of when you figure out who's who and who's good and who's not good.

44:17Separate the good from the great, you know? The fakers from the contenders. Kevin, I guess we know we're close to the Super Bowl because Doritos has a Super Bowl commercial contest. It feels a little early for that, but sure. Well, you got to get the creative and you got to start now. Yeah. They've been doing this for years, though. This is not new. They did have some like executions, ad executions on their website for inspiration. Yeah. They were actually pretty funny. I liked them. Yeah. I mean, they've done this. I guess, look, I have a hard time with crowdsource creative, but I feel like Doritos is doing this in a way that like they've been doing it for so long that they have credibility.

44:54and I think the spots are, like they generally do a pretty good job of them. They don't feel like homemade backyard, like pieces of content. Like they give them a good brief and they definitely seem to like respect the creatives. I hope they pay for the creatives. Well, the contest is for a million dollars. Okay, so there you go. If you get on the Super Bowl and you get a million dollars and that's a pretty good. Yeah. That feels like a good. It's like a million, 100 ,000 something dollars. After taxes, you're bringing home half a million. That'd be sweet. It would be pretty sick. And it might launch your creative career.

45:35I'm sure it must come with some sort of follow-up, right? Maybe you get a job at Doritos, right? I don't know. Maybe. I don't know about all that. You're going to get a job at PepsiCo? You know, maybe. I don't know. But no, I think this is, again, weird. It's how it should work. I mean, I don't know about all that. They should put you in the top creative... 25 list? Yeah. No, no. Top creative position at Doritos. You should be the creative director if you win this contest. If you win the contest, yeah. Just win. You're the new creative director? Listen, I'm just... I think... Listen, if they had a creative director who was able to write a great Super Bowl commercial, why are they running this contest?

46:16I think it just signals... You bring up a good question, Kevin. It makes me question the creative team at PepsiCo. Like, why can't you guys handle this yourselves? Okay. Is this a cry for help? Okay. Is this a cry for help? Yeah. I mean, it doesn't say a lot about their agencies of record, but hey, look, I think it's more fun to do it this way. Oh, definitely. Definitely more fun. I'm sure the creative team is great there. I'm sure. No shade to them. Well, I'm happy that all of this is happening. and I'm happy that this... You know what, Kevin? It's a beautiful time of the year. I just think that as the end of the year starts to come around, we've got Halloween, which I'm ready for that to be over, but then really, then we get in.

46:58Halloween is just a precursor. It's the appetizer for the real main event, which is Thanksgiving and then a holiday break. I can't believe people are... I feel like people are going to Halloween parties next weekend. Yeah, well... This coming weekend. That's insane. Well, I guess Halloween falls on, what, a Thursday? Yeah. So it's a tough spot. I mean, I certainly saw a lot of people dressed up last weekend, you and I included. Yeah, I did two Halloween, two days Halloween. I'm not doing it again. Are you doing it again? Most likely, no. Yeah, I'm not one and done for me. Unless I get like a really sick party invite to go to, you know?

47:33Got it. You know what I'm saying? It's like super sick. If it comes from somebody on that creative boom list, I might have to go. Well, that's the show, Kevin. Good to see you. We have some good guests coming. Sure. We locked in some quality caliber peoples coming up soon on the show. Big year for guests. Yeah, we did do a lot of guest episodes this year. And you know what? I like the guests. I think we should keep doing guest episodes. I think we will. But Kevin. They're great. They usually perform really well. Yeah. Well, we love the guests and we love the listeners. And we'll see you out there.

48:13Go enjoy your Halloweens and drink some beer. Sure. Peace.
