I didn't get a New Year's one. Wow. Can I say that I did have that thought that over the break, I obviously, even though I'm sorry I did not respond to the Thanksgiving one, I was a little disappointed I didn't get a Christmas one or a New Year's one. Well, to be fair, I had to dig up last year's Christmas one. Oh, man. Yeah, because I had some people, because I'm that guy for some people. You are the guy for me. I'm the guy who sends the texts around.
0:34I'm a conduit in the chain text economy. Yeah, you're the leader. Yeah, I facilitate. I spread it around. Yeah, I'm like the quarterback. Yeah, you're not a lemming. You're the leader. You're the first one. I appreciate, though, that you take that responsibility seriously. Because you're right. Someone's got to start that text thread. And that someone's you, Kevin.
1:01Three, two, one. Kevin. Happy New Year. Happy New Year. Good to be back. Yeah. New Year, new us. Yeah. That's right. Yeah, so much has changed. I had a thought this morning, Kevin, and I think you're going to appreciate this. You know, work, last year was hard for everybody. I think that was one of the things I learned from people's end of year posts, those nauseating reels and videos and collections of highlights. You know, a lot of people were like, you know, this year was tough. Wasn't the best year. Had ups and downs. This year was a hard year. And I feel like that made me feel good that all of us are collectively going through something sometimes.
1:41And, you know, maybe that also makes me feel nervous that we're all going through hard times. You know, that's not necessarily great. But what it made me realize, Kevin, that this podcast this morning in hard times gives me an hour, maybe an hour and a half even, of just pure joy where I get to talk to you and we get to talk about all these silly things. It's just levity and joy. So I'm starting the year with gratitude. Nice. Yeah. You didn't see the sincerity coming, Kevin. Yeah. I don't know what to do. Yeah. I know. But I am thankful for it and I do appreciate it. And it's not just the people that listen.
2:18We should thank them because they listen and they make it possible for us, really. Do they? Yeah. No, they don't. They don't. But I'm saying, like, I'm thankful that this moment today when there's, like, crazy shit going on, I'm just like, no. I need to talk to Kevin about how badly Joe Coy bombed the Golden Globes. And he doesn't even care. Who's Joe Coy? So Joe Coy was the only comedian in Hollywood that they could get to host the Golden Globes. You do not watch any award shows. No. I watched start to back. The only awards I like are NFL MVP. That's right. And that doesn't even matter that much.
2:53No, no. Do they have an award show? I think they do now, right? They do. I think they'd be dumb to not have an award show. Okay. Be dumb to miss out on that content opportunity. Of course, of course. NFL, you know, needs more content. That's what I always say. There's not enough games. You've probably seen all the memes and nothing else, right, Kevin? So we don't need to talk about it. No. Really? The only thing I saw was Ryan Reynolds in the Deadpool mask accepting his whatever the award was. It was broken, I guess. I think those were the Emmys. That wasn't even the Golden Globes, I don't think, but I don't know.
3:24He used huge jacked man's broken trophy to accept. The man always has to have a fucking bit, right? He's like, you can't just accept an award and be like, hey, thank you to my agents and to my co-stars. He has to do some sort of over-the-top bit. So he's accepting an award for his soccer show in the Deadpool mask. Really? What the hell? Well, the soccer show, I've told you, I watch. I do really like it. So as much as I hate Ryan Reynolds, I have to be honest with the fact that I enjoy Welcome to Wrexham, whatever that show is called. So the thing you need to know about Joe Coy, right, is that Joe Coy is a comedian.
3:57Joe Coy was the host of the Golden Globes. And as a host, you have to fill like eight to ten minutes right in the beginning of the show. So you come out, hey, welcome to the show. You get some claps. And then you kind of do like a bit of a roast of the year in TV, entertainment, you know, movies, right? And listen, when I tell you that by the third minute, he was already bombing so badly that he was blaming his writers. He said like, I only got this gig 10 days ago. And he just was making jokes so bad that people were cringing, putting their hands over their faces. And then he still had like seven minutes to go.
4:44It was so horrifying to watch. It was an epic catastrophe. Honestly, respect. That's sick. He bombed. As someone who has secondhand embarrassment, I had to get up off of my couch and just fake go to the bathroom. So just to like remove myself from the situation. Unfortunately, the people that were sitting there could not do the same. Because you were in the bathroom? Well, no. Oh, I thought you were talking about you having a watch party and you were hogging the bathroom. No, no, no, no, no. I'm just saying like those people are stuck there in that room because he has, you know, this like, you know, the monologue.
5:18Yeah. Dude, it was so tough. It was really tough. He made excuses. He was like, he was just blaming everybody. He was like, he turned on the crowd and started getting angry at them. you should watch it. Honestly, I should watch it. This sounds funny. It sounds very funny. It is funny, but it was also like, whoa, this is like there's not doing great. Get me throwing the writers under the bus. That's a crazy move. Within the first few minutes. And then he was like, I wrote this joke. They wrote this joke. He was like... That's funny. It did not come across great. But Kevin, enough about that. 2024 is our year.
5:54Yeah, I think so. Yeah, this is the one. This is the one. We didn't say that last year or the year before. No, we didn't. I didn't. Yeah. No. 2024, this is the year. You got resolutions? Yeah, I think I got some resolutions. I don't really like resolutions. I'm just going to do the stuff I said I'm going to do. I'm just going to do it. I'm not going to. Resolution gives me excuses to not do it. As a man who's identified as a brinksman, the man on the brink, and it's not even a joke. I am on the brink. I've been on the brink. Yeah, yeah. All your life. Brink of what? Who knows? I'm not revealing what I'm on the brink of.
6:33But let's just say, don't be surprised if you see me naked in a Bass Pro Shop aquarium tank in the coming year. But as a brinksman. That man was a fellow brinksman, I think. I've been on the brink, honestly, for my entire life. And I feel like 24 is... I'm either going one or two ways. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I'm either going to be at Bass Pro Shop or I'm going to be massively successful. and honestly that's how i want it to be i don't want to be i don't want another year just riding the brink i need to be on either side of it so i can okay make some hard life decisions to uh yeah get get myself to where i want to be and honestly either avenue is probably good for me okay you're either out you're in route yes of the bass pro shop yeah yeah pool but i guess if i'm being serious i um my resolutions are get my health up yeah weight down money up screen time Screen time down.
7:23I'm with you, Kevin. Health is wealth. Ski more. Heard it here. Ski more. Ski more, bike more. Yeah, I fucking love it. Lift more. I said it on my Instagram, I want to do more. You said - I want more of everything. Famously, Kevin said, I'm going to do more next year. And I said, do it. Yeah. You can do it, Kevin. More of what? Who knows? Wouldn't you like to know? Yeah, exactly. I don't want to get held responsible for any of this doing - More gambling? Yeah. Hell yeah. Yeah. Who said it was going to be positive? He just said he was going to do more. Well, Kevin, I'll join you. I'll do less. Wow.
7:56That's good. You need that. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I need that. I need to do less. And that's a, but more gym. That's more gym, but less a lot of things that prevent me from going to. Who the hell is gym? Gym is a buddy. You know, we hang out in the gymnasium in my building. I went to the gym today, not to brag. Hell yeah. Yeah. First time in well over six months. Sure. Nice. But hey, man, health is wealth. And we got to stay right. You know that 2023, the hottest year on record, temperature-wise? For short men. For short men. Shout out to - Short men have never been this hot. Jeremy Allen White. Yeah.
8:33Short King. I saw the Iron Claw, which he was in. Okay. Okay. It fucking ruled. I love wrestling. Yes, of course. It's a movie centered around a - Actually, it's a true story about a family who's just had a tragic fucking run. I know that there's some tragedy. Yeah. There's a Vice documentary that goes through it, and apparently they left one of the brothers out because it was just like... Too fucked up. Yeah, it was just like... They didn't want to tell that story? Okay, don't ruin it. No spoilers. I mean, they did not include one of the brothers. Okay, that's kind of... He suffers a similar fate as every...
9:12I mean, most of the brothers. Okay. It's on my list. You saw it in theaters? Yeah, I saw it in theaters. Okay, I like it. I don't really like the theater. It just pisses me off when people clap at the credits People were clapping at the credits I guess that means the movie was good My one bone to pick was The guy they cast for Ric Flair Not so good He kind of looked like Ric Flair But just didn't have it He didn't have the charisma To be the best you gotta beat the best He didn't have it Which is unfortunate But it happens It's hard to cast for people that are living Why didn't they get Ric Flair?
9:50I guess he would have been too old. Yeah. Ric Flair is looking a little rougher. Keep him in the ring. Cool. I'm excited. But it's kind of motivation. I want to be fucking ripped.
10:06Triggering some cool stuff in my brain. I could picture you doing wrestling, Kevin. I feel like you have the charisma. I feel like if you went to wrestling school and really put your whole heart into being a professional wrestler, I'm not saying you're going to go to the WWE at the highest level, but I'm saying you have it. I could picture it. Yeah, I think I could. Yeah, I think you got it. I would probably need to not sit at a desk for 10 hours a day. I'll talk about an alternative reality where you just give your all to the sport. Yeah, no, I wish I would have done that out of high school instead of going to college.
10:43Yeah, no, or if you give your all to cooking, you're a great chef. you could have been jeremy allen white i know i could have there you could have opened up your own beef restaurant i know i could have just been a fucking jeremy allen white guy yeah that's right you could have been a beef cake or you could have had a beef uh you know beef beef beef restaurant yeah i'd give anything to be a beef cake yeah no the kevin klein ads are great like we should just say it like yeah kevin klein obviously a brand that is is known for putting hot guys in in underwear yeah i feel like they do it strategically they're not just rolling out like every guy like It's like every couple of years.
11:16Yeah, that couch on the roof of a Brooklyn high-rise? Pretty sick. Sick. Very sick. There's hella couches like that. I remember they did Bieber a couple of years ago when Bieber was in sort of that moment. And they find the right moments, and then they do it well. So that's an honor. He's been all over the place in his underwear. Yeah. And just showing off his physique. So jacked, yeah. He looked pretty... Honestly, Zac Efron in Ironclaw? Yeah, super jacked. I take back everything I said about his jaw. He looks great. anything I've said about Zac Efron in the past I take it back because he rocks that shit I feel like I see a movie of Zac Efron's every couple years that's like damn good actor and I respect him and then I forget so just don't let me forget that I do respect Zac Efron I'm with you I want to see the movies on my list I have actually a bunch of movies I want to see that are all in theaters I want to see The Claw I want to see Poor Things and the only movie I did see over the break in theaters was Willy Wonka.
12:16Oh. Or Wonka. Wonka. With Timothee Chalamet. Expectations were pretty low, so I felt like it was pretty solid. Yeah. I wasn't expecting it to be great cinema, and it was fine. It was good. It was good, not great. A lot of singing. It was very much a musical. But listen, a fun time at the theater. Sometimes you just go to a movie and you're like, I was entertained. I saw a TikTok that said there's a lot of musicals coming out this year. Yeah, I don't know what that is. I mean, listen, I don't mind a musical number, but like when the music out, like it was mostly musical numbers. I don't know. It felt like a lot.
12:52And then I saw Salt Burn, which is another movie that everyone's talking about, which was also good. I wouldn't say great, but like it was good. But yeah, I want to see Poor Things. I want to see The Iron Claw. What's the other movie I want to see that's in theaters? I don't know. So I'm super late on it, but I watched the menu over break. Whoa. Good movie. I disagree. Really? You didn't like it? Yeah. I thought it was, I thought the idea was cool and it started off cool. And then I just like, it was kind of, I just thought that it was kind of lame. So here's the thing for me is that I went into that movie watching it without really knowing much about what was going to go off.
13:29Yeah. Me too. Oh, you didn't know. Okay. So then you just didn't like it. It's okay. It's fine. I didn't, I don't know. It was just kind of like, shut up. Okay. Okay. That's fair. Listen, I'm not going to say it's the greatest movie of all time, but it was good. The Curse finale I watched last night. I'm behind. You're behind. You've got to finish it. We were talking about it before we started recording that The Curse is one of those shows where every time you watch it, you have to watch, or at least for me, I have to watch the half hour of the episode from the week before because I either fell asleep or wasn't paying attention.
14:01Yeah. Because it's a little slow. It's a little slow. Yeah. We can admit that. Somehow we fell behind pretty far. Yeah. I was kind of shocked how far we had fallen behind. That's a guy. And it's just kind of hard to binge that one. Oh, God. Even two nights in a row is a bit much for me. Yeah, yeah. So we've been taking it slow. And I think I got two episodes left. Yeah. I got to the end. I finished last night, and I think I was like, yeah. Again, I'm not ruining him by saying. I don't know if that was like a good use of 12 hours or nine hours. I couldn't disagree with you more because I believe the show is very visceral.
14:41And like, I think the feelings that conjures up is like, I don't know. It conjures up very strong feelings and makes you pretty uncomfortable. It's got that. I think it's great. Yeah. I think it's like that. If you like being like nail biting, cringy, kind of like uncomfortable, like it's, it's, it's, it's phenomenal. They do an excellent job. It's excellent. Just, yeah conjuring that emotion emma stone is such a good actress yes she really like nathan's good safety great like emma stone is the star yeah she's the one that makes me cringe the hardest she she is so cringy and uh in the best way though yeah really good no it's awesome uh yes but i'm immediately gonna re-watch it okay um just to you know get the nuance yeah listen Nathan's your guy I mean I like Nathan um I had to tell Jackie last night that um Nathan is a sex symbol she was like you know she didn't know that like women are like big into Nathan Fielder like she just she she was not familiar with his game I guess you know cherry tomato boys yeah exactly like she just didn't know though that like the internet as a whole is like crazy for Nathan like as a hot guy.
15:53Damn. And I think that's, you know, I guess not everyone's quite as tapped in. She's not tapped into the mainframe of the internet quite like we are. I think I could play in the space between Nathan Fielder and Jeremy Allen White. Ooh, yeah, yeah, yeah. There's an avenue for me. Kevin. Maybe one day I can be a hot internet guy. Listen, I think you're well on your well. I mean, listen, I think this show is a good platform for you to become a hot internet guy. Yeah, you think? I think so. Listen, I don't see why not. Speaking of, do you want to chill for sponsors right now or do you want to save that for later?
16:25Sure. So basically, here's the deal. We love the podcast. We want to get more sponsors. We love the Dialine. They're fantastic. You should enter the Dialine Awards right now because the Dialine Awards are open. And I believe deadlines are starting to come in the next month or two. As you know, you pay more as you get closer to the deadline because creatives are lazy. Yeah, why pay more when you pay less? You could pay less. And so get your submissions in today. but you know we love the dialine but you know there's no reason why we can't have more sponsors you know there's room on this boat there's room and so you know if you work for you know a beverage company I'm talking to you specifically know a lot of us if you work for Adobe if you work for anyone that draft if you work for a mattress company we Kevin and I both sleep on mattresses or draft kings or if you work for a sports gambling company Kevin is putting bets down for wildcard weekend and he not to mention i'm the worst sports gambler of all time yeah so you'll be making hella money off of my recommendations the company will not the people yes uh if you have a meal plan of like a meal plan delivery service i am on a meal plan delivery service i will try your meal plan for free the long story is not for free but for for money um we will sell anything yeah right we've said that before and so uh we're looking for sponsors and And if you hear ads on the show, that means that we did a good job.
17:49If you don't, that means that you guys didn't do your job. Yeah. Defense contractors, we'll take it. Exactly. Listen, we'll drink anything and eat anything or say anything on this show. But we're doing that because we want to do more with the show. And to do more, we need more sponsorships. Please help me fulfill my New Year's resolution of getting my money up. That's right. And also being a hunk. The more money that comes in, the more we can do, the more eyeballs, the more Kevin has a chance of being a hunk. An internet hunk. Let's see how that works. We missed so much stuff over the last couple of weeks, Kevin.
18:25Cat Williams was on a show called Club Shay Shay. That's Shannon Sharp's internet show? DraftKings puts it on. Okay. DraftKings is honestly doing some good media. They got Club Shay Shay, and I believe they sponsor one with Shannon Sharp and Chad Johnson. Okay. Which is great. And then the - What is Club Shay Shay? That's his personal show? Yeah. He sits looking all ripped, and they got some bottles of, I believe, cognac in the middle. And I think they're sipping some. Maybe smoking a stogie. Okay. So it's really like a man cave type vibe. Yeah. I mean, Shanna Sharp is just, he's in a tight sweater, and he's just looking fucking crazy ripped, because he is.
19:08Yeah. Definitely on drugs. No. Natty. Yeah. He could be Natty. He's Natty, yeah, for sure. Possibly. I don't know. I'm not putting that – I'm not speaking on Shannon Sharks' name here, Alex. Okay. If there's one thing I learned while listening to Cat Williams is don't be putting people's names in your mouth. Without facts. Yeah, without facts. Okay, so did you listen to this full interview with Cat Williams? I made it through over 50 % of it. Wow, that's a lot. That's a lot. Okay. It was heavy. So in 60 seconds, give me the breakdown. What happens? I mean, he's just calling everybody out. Okay.
19:42I don't think I can really go into the specifics on what he's calling them out for. Kevin Hart was at the top of the list. Yeah. Kevin Hart, Ricky Smiley, Cedric the Entertainer. Oof. He was going after some people. Yeah. And honestly, Cat Williams has a tour, and it made me want to go see him. I mean, Cat Williams is a legendary comic. Whatever that special is that he did back when he first got famous or when he really popped, and it's probably in the 2000s, I would imagine. Now, probably 20 years ago now. Yeah, he rules. Yeah. When he talks about the weed, that they're like, he keeps getting stronger every year.
20:18That's the best. That's like top tier golf level comedy. He said Ludacris was in the Illuminati. I think that probably is like the most tame take. Really? That maybe describes what went on further. Cat Williams is a guy that's in a position really to just let it all out. He's not holding anything back. I think as much as this current media landscape of getting clicks and shit sucks, kind of sick here. Let it rip. Yeah, let it rip. Promote your tour. Get people in the seats. I looked up tickets because I wanted to go. He's got a show in Connecticut soon. Tickets are like$100. I mean, Kyle Williams is not at the peak of his career by any means.
21:05But listen, this could bring him back. and stand-up comedy has never been hotter. It is one of those things as an art form that like, listen, there's not many things you could do and put your phone away and just like laugh and have fun. We were talking about this before. People are having a hard time out there and like comedy brings joy and it is a fun, like anytime I've ever been to a show and like you just laugh and you have fun and like that's wonderful. Yeah, laughter is the best medicine. It is. So I saw that he called Kevin Hart an industry plant, which I thought was particularly funny. And then I was watching Kevin Hart.
21:39Apparently they started doing something on ESPN like the Mannings, so where Kevin Hart watches basketball. It wasn't great, but he was watching the Knicks game, so I had to check in and see what was going on, which brings me to the Knicks. The Knicks are good, Kevin. The Knicks are actually a good basketball team. They made a big trade over the break. It was a good trade. We're going for five wins in a row tonight, And I think playoffs are coming. Yeah, that's good. I mean, maybe in a first round exit, I think we can make it maybe potentially. I don't want to get too cocky, but I think we can make the second round more of an actual competitive situation.
22:21I'm not very tapped into basketball right now, so I'm going to let you handle this one. But I'm happy to see your hopes getting up. and I'm happy to see the New York fandom collective. I'm excited to see the hopes being built up. That's well. Yeah, we went to Philadelphia and kicked the shit out of the Sixers. Nice. Jalen Brunson balling out of control. Yeah, no, the hope is being injected into my veins as we speak. New Year's resolution, I'm going to be less of a Knicks hater. Okay, listen. Not a Knicks lover, but I'm going to be a – Here's the thing. I might be a Knicks enjoyer. Kevin, I'm letting you know this right now.
22:57the Knicks. Now is a good time to get in. Can I hop on? You should hop on now. I'm telling you right now, this team looks good. We got a lot more games to play, but season's long, but I'm just saying, right now is a good time. When they start winning, say they win tonight, and then they start going for nine in a row, ten in a row, you're going to see the swell is going to get bigger and bigger. This team is good. I'm just throwing out there. I don't know about championship good, but like i'm not gonna temper those expectations but like i think i think i think this team is looking from this day forward i'm a nicks enjoyer not a nicks hater so kevin i don't know if you saw this but uh fast company asked me to uh redesign anything i got this uh wonderful invitation uh to to be a part of an article where i was asked if i wanted to redesign anything i did and uh that that was a tricky one for me because you know of course like i know that a lot of people in that same situation.
23:55If given a magic wand to redesign anything, they would probably consider the planet, the people that live on the planet, something that would really help society at large. And I thought about that for quite a bit, but I decided to redesign the New York Knicks, which is more of a personal thing. Yeah, would you want that smoke, though? I don't know. I feel like maybe a cleanup job would be good. Oh, yeah. I mean, listen, I didn't get into exactly what I would do but i do think it's it's no you can't you can't burn it all down and like completely uh start from scratch like it's it's it's it's a more of a refresh i love that than it is yeah listen a lot of people like it a lot of people were hitting me up with the different opinions and uh yeah for sure i mean listen some people agree with me some people don't like it's it's it's got deep nostalgia and it's an iconic logo it's it's been with us you know for for quite a long time 30 years most of my nostalgia for what getting bounced in the playoffs that's the thing It's like, it's not really, it's nostalgic.
24:54Last one, last one. I know, I know. But here's the thing, Kevin. You know that like the second I put that on paper, in this case, the internet, that the Knicks were then going to shove it in my face by basically now every game that I watch at home with that big logo on the front and center court, it's just laughing at me being like, hey, Alex, I thought, you know, this is the year. The year you said, you called this out and we're going to prove you wrong. So I'm hoping championship. Oh, yeah. I'm just I'm just I'm not putting my money on it. But I do believe that this put your money on it is looking good.
25:30I mean, I mean, a future is not crazy. It's it's it's crazy, but it's it's going to it's going to happen. Lastly, before we get to topics, because we have so much stuff. Hard Knocks finale tonight. I know you haven't been watching, but now I haven't watched this. Is this the second year in a row that they've done the in-season NFL team and both teams lost? It might be the last week of the year. It might be three. This might be the third. I don't know. I can't remember. Remember the Colts? They were trying to make the playoffs, and they had this catastrophic Week 18 meltdown. That's pretty much what happened to the Dolphins.
26:01They made the playoffs, but they're going to fucking get bounced by the Chiefs. I don't know about that. Chiefs suck. Chiefs only beat the Chargers by one point. Here's what I'll say. The Dolphins, I don't know their record, but they had the East locked up. Yeah. No, they did. They did. And they collapsed on TV. So I think if I'm an NFL team, I don't know if I want to do hard knocks, but I will certainly watch the collapse. Also, Kevin, I know you're not a Housewives guy, but Salt Lake City Housewives have been outstanding. If you watch, please DM me. I'm happy to talk about it at any time to anyone.

26:34Tonight starts the three-episode reunion special. Oh, wow. So they do an hour every single week just of the reunion. That's how you know how juicy it is. That's crazy. And yeah, and the Knicks going for five in a row. So we got content. Yeah. Yeah. There's no shortage of it. Cat Williams going crazy. But Kevin, we have to start this year off with arguably the biggest story of the break. It was the story that actually was – I almost reached out to you during our time off to get your take on it because I needed to know what you thought about it. And, you know, but I waited until this moment. Kevin The Pop Tart Bowl Had one of the greatest mascot moments Of all time It wasn't just a moment Alex It was a couple days Even They started teasing it out And then They had They had a good person in that suit They had the right person for the job See this is what I wanted to hear From you A mascot, enjoyer, and enthusiast.
27:43Mascot. Yeah. So they were teasing it. Okay. You know, upon hearing that, you know, A, the trophy would have a slot for Pop-Tarts in it. That's pretty sick. Oh, I didn't even know that. I didn't even know that. And then they teased that the mascot would be, you know, eaten after by the winning team. Okay. Sick. And so all eyes were on this bowl. And even so. So you saw this coming. I saw this coming. And then, so even during, like, the game, there was antics. Like, the mascot messing around with the ref. The mascot messing around with the fans. There's a little mischievous Pop-Tart. And, like, I don't know.
28:23It was just a great, wholesome moment for Pop-Tarts. And they did a great job with the mascot. Right person. And then, to top it off, the trophy ceremony, they had the mascot on top of a big toaster. They had a sign that said, I don't know, I forget what the sign says. But they ceremoniously. The sign said, dreams really do come true. And then they ceremoniously lowered the mascot into a toaster. And then out the bottom comes a massive Pop-Tart that these players just went ham on. They're eating big chunks of it. Yeah. Which is great. Like, you know, you don't, you know, the Mayo Bowl's got the mayo bath, whatever it's called.
29:16Yeah, people eating mayo. Yeah. Kind of bananas. There's some good brand experience stuff going on in these bowl games. Sure. And even though these bowl games are kind of trash. Yep. You know, they're not great television because a lot of players are moving or sitting out or whatever it may be. um you know it's good to see good to see a brand mascot win let's yeah let's pump those bad boys up for 2024 i want to see more brand mascots if you listen to the fronties you know that kevin talked uh about how his love for mascots and how he wants to bring mascots back um you you declared piss jugman the mascot of the year 2023 this came in on december 28th kevin so this was a very late entry now to the mascot of the year do you want to retract and give pop tart man no i'm i'm confident in piss jug okay so that's fair i think toe-to-toe piss jugman fucks up that pop uh kevin maybe maybe we need a piss jugman bowl i love this i miss bowl i think you're right though kevin uh the bar has officially been raised for these bowl games because i think for me 10 out of 10 this is no notes this is how you do it sports are entertainment at the end of And you're right, these bowl games, no one really is caring about these games.
30:33So you've got to find a way to mix it up. And if you're going to have the Tostitos Bowl and the Mayo Bowl and the Pop-Tart Bowl, let's have some fun with this shit. Let's get fucking weird. And so this, like you said, we've been tracking this as the Mayo Bowl was, I think, really one of the first ones in more recent years in my memory. They kind of revolutionized it. They did. They started leaning into memes, I guess. We're really just trying to get the internet to pay attention by doing all sorts of mayo-esque activities. And the mayo bowl is great, too, because they incorporate weird mayo shit in the broadcast.
31:07They're eating mayo with peanut butter and mayo sandwiches. Exactly. Just weird stuff like that. Yes. It's not just a logo on the trophy or at the half yard on the field. It's an integration. Yeah. It's clips, dude. It's clips and it's integration knowing that the internet is really the end consumer here. And Pop-Tart said, I see you're Mayable and I raise you a mascot that gets lowered into a toaster and then gets eaten by the winning team. Yeah. That is, they ate the mascot after they won. Crazy. That is A+. Yeah. And I think that will be tough to top next year, but I imagine that there will be other brands.
31:55I think Cheez-Its will try to get in there. I think they did something this year. They tried to jump on the hoopla. I think if my memory serves me correctly, I do believe that Cheez-Its came before the Duke's Mayo Bowl in that fun energy of a bowl game type deal. And the Mail Bowl took it to the next level. And then Pop-Tarts has done their due diligence. It's got a bit of a rock and jock energy. Sort of like, hey, let's not take this all so seriously. Let's put up a 40-foot hoop and see if anyone can score a 25-pointer. So, Kevin, I just had another good idea. should we set up a agency off center, not main center that only comes up with ideas for brands to do stunty like, uh, activations.
32:51Uh, because I, I think Kevin, I think you specifically have a mind for this kind of stuff. Yeah. I think the, uh, I think we're going to see a lot of this coming, which is brands trying to do wild and wacky activations, uh, during legitimate broadcasts to try to get the internet going. Yeah. And this one, ah, Pop-Tart. Yeah, they said they got like$12 million of free marketing or whatever. Yeah, that's how it fucking works. It's like, you do something fun and do something weird and do something crazy, people are going to send it around. I didn't know that the trophy was also a toaster. Was it actually a toaster?
33:30Well, you said you could put a Pop-Tart. I don't know if it had electricity, but it had slots on top. Two slots for two Pop-Tarts. Yeah. I do really like how bizarre, like the dreams really do come true sign about that Pop-Tart coming out of the, like before it went into the toaster and out the slot at the bottom. That's some really dark and really, like whoever approved that, you know, whatever, you know, sort of person at the Pop-Tart kind of company. I don't know. Who owns Pop-Tarts, Kevin? No idea. who owns Pop-Tarts? I do believe it was a holding company. Kellogg's. Okay. It was Kellogg's.
34:12So whoever, or Kelanova, which is now some, this used to be Kellogg's, but like whoever, whatever brand manager, whatever team over there that was like, let's do this. Let's get weird. Bravo to them. Cause that's something that most big giant corporations would be like, no, that's not, let's not do that. Good for them. So good for them for having the courage. And I hope that this inspires a nation to do more. And yeah, the fact that they ate it after the game. And it's like, I was like half off. And like, you just saw the strawberry below. It looks pretty good. It was a fucked up scene. I kind of want a strawberry Pop-Tart right now.
34:52But I won't. You know what you should go for? Get a gastro Pop-Tarts instead. Better for you. Yeah, cleaner. Cleaner, better ingredients, better flavors, better taste. But listen, I will say. Are those up for grabs? Can we reach in? One is open mostly because, say Adams. Oh, yeah, yeah. If you remember historically on the pod, he ate one straight from the wall. Legend. Legendary move. Speaking of legendary moves, Kevin, we already hinted at it, but the Bass Pro Shop guy has also taken the internet by storm. Um, good marketing for, if you, if you didn't see, um, the Bass, uh, pro shop has become this like cathedral of outdoors men, you know, uh, clothing and, uh, supplies and, uh, uh, gear.
35:34And, uh, some, uh, some man, a 42 year old, uh, actually have his name. I didn't know that his name was, uh, sort of out there. George Owens, he decided that he was going to do something crazy when he jumped into the pool that sits in the middle of the Bass Pro Shop and do that completely naked. And, yeah, I mean, I think this is a hilarious and very fun thing to do. The thing that people couldn't help but notice, but the pool seemed very, very cold. Yes. and so cold and because of the angle of the shot that seemed to be quite so far away and also the angle which he was spreading his legs in the tank it did appear as though he would fit in perfectly in Greta Gerwig's Barbie that's all I'm going to say yeah I mean the angles and the water and the camera let's all do it I'm dirty nothing's helping his cause here I don't want to cock shame him No, no, we would never.
36:36I'm not in the business of doing that. No. I do think it takes some balls to even get to the point where you're jumping in that tank naked. And I respect it, honestly. It's sick. Salute this man. Who hasn't been there? Who hasn't been on the brink of driving to the local Bass Pro Shop and just hopping in the tank, taking a little dip? It looks very appealing. The water looks so refreshing. And I think it's all, if you've stepped foot in a Bass Pro Shop, I believe you've probably had that thought. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, no. Don't throw stones if you live in a glass house. Don't cock shame if you live in a glass house.
37:10That's fair. Yeah, I mean, listen, salute that man. Yeah, again, we were saying we've all had a tough year. 2023 is hard. And you want to start 2028 right by just shaking shit up, taking the cannonball into the pool. Yeah, I think this guy needs a Bass Pro Shop deal. Yeah, this is a great point, Kevin. if I'm Bass Pro Shop this guy is now officially our he's our now endorser he is a he is one of us he is a man that we should roll out they should do a Super Bowl commercial if I'm being honest they should whatever it's not too late to get in on the action they should win the Super Bowl by having him as the main Jared-esque sponsor of the show do a little background check on fucking George make sure he's not you know make sure he's make sure he's clean he's clean but But he should be, this should be.
38:02100%. Yeah, this is a good idea, Kevin. Capitalize on this. A couple weeks will go by. People will sort of forget about it. Boom, Super Bowl commercial. Yeah, people like that shit Stanley did with the tragedy of that burnt-out car. What the fuck is going on with Stanley? Now all of a sudden everyone wants a Stanley cup? Yeah, there's like Stanley bags, and people are packing their Stanley bags on the internet. Man, I had no idea that that was the thing. There's Stanley accessories. People are going kind of nuts over Stanley. which I guess is another story. The thing I don't understand, Kevin, is the whole point of those cups, right, is that they're supposed to help the planet.
38:37So you get one cup and you reuse it, right? That's the point of a reusable. You need every colorway. But if you get 100 colorways, you might as well be getting plastic or you might as well be getting other things that you throw out. Because it doesn't make any sense to me. They last forever. Yeah, but you only need one. Maybe you need three, two, if that. You don't need 100. Yeah, I mean, I don't understand. They're selling them on StockX. Like, what is going on? Unless that's fake. I may have been. No, I mean, it could be real. I did see a TikTok. It was very funny. It was like a girl asked her mom for a Stanley, and she got like the old coffee thermos one with the cup attachment on top.
39:13Okay. Which those go pretty hard. Yeah. And a Stanley flask also goes pretty hard. Yeah. So those are cool Stanleys, but the, I don't know. I just don't, I don't really like the, I don't like a straw. No. I don't like a sucky water bottle. Yeah, I'm with you, Kevin. That StockX was a real screen grab because I'm on there right now. $215 for the Stanley X Starbucks Tumblr mug. What the hell? Jesus Christ. Why? A lot of them are going for$90,$180. This is$115. This is, it's a fucking cup. Stanley Gurley's, right? I mean, listen, I guess this is one of the first trends of 2024, so we should embrace the trend.
39:56But yeah, we can't get mad at like a reusable water bottle. But yeah, I don't know. But what happened? Like, how did that become like a status symbol or something? Like, I don't know. Like, why do you need to have variety or like? Because people are all about the like beverages these days. Listen, I respect that. They want to have their own. I get it. But I don't understand where this all came from. It just seemed out of nowhere. It's not because of that video. that video was obviously cool that the car burned down and the stanley didn't but i think the stanley trend precedes that yeah it's not yeah so i don't know what's going on over there i need to do some research but i almost threw my phone at the wall last night i was watching uh some reels which i need to get off i'm thinking about i'm thinking about completely deleting the instagram app which uh okay okay you know that could be a move um maybe just doing a web app but yeah i almost threw my phone through a wall um last night because i saw a reel of a dude mixing up his water of the day and it was like he had a stanley shaped like glass pitcher to which he he dumped in two plastic bottles of water and then to the like he added like he had this whole like lazy Susan full of like zero calorie drink enhancers like Mio's and like little packets.
41:19And I was just like, I hate it here. I need to jump in the Bass Pro Shop pool. I need to jump in the pool. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, listen, Kevin, you could be a legend. You know, that's that Bass Pro Shop guy, you know, forever and ever and ever. Yeah. The bad thing about it is that angle and the video and the film and pretty much every part about it. The good part about it is you didn't really get a great face shot of the guy. Yeah. So that could be anyone. Nobody's looking at his face. That's what I'm saying. You didn't really get a good visual of who he is. That guy could walk into this door right now.
42:00He wouldn't know. You should try to get him on the pod. He was an absolute legend. I would love to get that guy in the fucking pod. Yeah. The funny part about it, too, is not just the obvious part where he's in the pool and just swimming around naked. It's really when he gets out of the pool and they try to not tackle him, but they're trying to get him security. And he's just flopping around on the floor like a fish. And then they start dragging him. It's almost a perfect video. Yeah. It's really like it almost seems like it was set up or potentially. Fast pro shop inside job. I mean, listen, I didn't want to go there.
42:34so quickly in the year, but third eye now officially open, and only because of your teachings do I now see clearly with my third eye. Is this too perfect? I think if it was an inside job, I think it would have happened at the Memphis pyramid. Oh, you're saying it happened at like a sort of random one. It happened in Leeds, Alabama. Okay, you're right, you're right, you're right. I'm not going to rule it out, but I think my ears would be a little perked up, and my third eye would be a little bit more open if it was at the Memphis Pyramid. Okay. No, it's a good point. It's, hey, listen, you know, you want to jump in the aquarium sometimes?
43:11I mean, those aquariums, they look fun to swim in. That guy's not wrong. Everybody wants to do that. Yeah, no, and he just, salute that man. He did. He lived the dream. And for that, listen, early contender for Frontier of the Year. Like, that is a video. That could be brand moment of the year. Yeah. I mean, we're talking about Pop-Tarts, like, great moment for them. Starting off the year strong. Starting off the year really strong. Kevin, Mr. Beast, moving on to other people on the internet doing things. Mr. Beast, our favorite philanthropist and YouTuber. Humanitarian of the year. Humanitarian of the year, Frontier Award winner, has been ordered to stop using the phrase D's nuts on his candy bars because it's too similar to D's nuts, which is a real brand from someone named D.
43:57D-T-E-E apostrophe S nuts is a real company and has been for a very long time. It's a Florida-based peanut company, and they make nuts. So it's a funny joke to you, Mr. Beast, but to someone else, it's a very legitimate company and a very legitimate operation. So stop it. Should have gotten in contact with Ryan Kelly. Check that trademark. Yes, exactly. Dee's nuts is, yeah, no, listen, it's a real sort of homegrown operation. And Mr. Beast, yeah, you thought that was a funny little joke for your chocolate bar company. But Jimmy, the law, you ran into the law. Yeah. He's got so much money, though.
44:42Yeah, it doesn't matter. He should just, like, if I was Dee, I'd be like, hey, give me a percent or just, you know, give me a couple of milli. and I'll just uh good call there I'll just let you you can do it yeah like I don't actually care but I'm just I'm yeah like this isn't hurting their brand in any way shape or form like so I think you're right how about just let us skim me off a little bit of off the top you want to keep it go for it um have you ever tasted these I haven't ever tried feastables uh I think on the what about these uh I've never tried uh these nuts uh or would you like to try these Kevin it's funny how funny you still think I love this joke I will never ever ever as long as you live as long as I live this joke will always be funny to me I mean it is funny to read the phrase the name is confusingly similar and phonetically equivalent to Deez Nuts like that's that is somewhat funny in the fact that this is a real like lawsuit and there is like real trademark infringement and lawyers who have to literally get into some sort of like real serious moment where probably people are wearing ties and in a room with a lot of marble, and they have to talk about Deez Nuts.
45:53Yeah, they got a litigator. Yeah, they got real lawyers getting paid real money, probably a lot of money. So you want to try Deez? On all this, just to talk about Deez Nuts, which is, that's actually the funny, that's the humor in all of this. Calling up, I think we talked about this when it first came out, like Mr. Beast first rolled this out, and we said that this was deeply uncool and just not very funny of him to do this. I don't know. I don't think I said that. I definitely did. I think this is for the best, that if he does have to change it. You're right, though. He shouldn't change it. He should just – Those?
46:24He should know. He should spark a collab with Deez Nuts. Yeah. And he should do like Deez Nuts X Deez Nuts. And he should have some sort of like promo. He should turn this into some thing where he gets trapped in a room full of nuts for 10 days or whatever. And then that's how you just turn – I cured 1 ,000 people with their nut allergy. Exactly. There's so many people with nut allergies. I'm one of them. So Mr. Beast, come help me out. Are you allergic to D's though? I'm not allergic to D's nuts, actually. Because they're peanuts and I'm only allergic to walnuts and cashews. I did watch a Mr.
46:59Beast video over the break. I think YouTube got me because, you know me, I'd be watching them YouTubes. And sometimes when I'm sick of watching streaming movies or TV shows or reality shows, I'll hit up the YouTubes. and I'll be like, give me some bite-sized content. Give me some eight-minute long type stuff. And listen, YouTube doesn't typically let me down. There's a lot of good content out in there. I highly recommend it for those that are not familiar. Let me put you on this platform called YouTube. YouTube.com. Check it out. And I think that, yeah, I've watched a couple of Mr. Beast videos, whether they're for research or for enjoyment, who's to say.
47:41But, yeah, now it's feeding me them. And I imagine that's because they're the most number one watch thing on YouTube. So that also probably plays a part in this. And I watched one where he trapped himself in a room, a padded room, like a psych ward type situation for seven days in a row. Is there an alarm going off in our in our it's funny because I don't hear it in real life, but I hear it in our microphones.
48:04I don't believe that's our. Yeah, that's probably not our building, but it's gonna be really annoying for the listeners. So he trapped himself in a room for seven days. is he only like he had no entertainment whatsoever they just gave him food and uh i'll be honest the video was entertaining slightly okay and uh i will say one thing is that he started going crazy and he started to lose his mind and you know they had uh people on staff to that said like oh man once you're three days in you start your brain starts to just like go crazy he lost track of time he had no idea what day it was and yeah it was it was i guess it's what i liked about it was like it's cool that he doesn't just torture other people for money he also is willing to torture himself for money yeah good for him and that is something we salute you because a lot of those videos you watch him he's like they stick someone in a grocery store for like you know a month or so and he pays them a fuck ton of money but they have to be like without their kids and family and shit and you're like man this is like borderline torture yeah like we're watching a man torture other people for enjoyment and money but i will say at least he's willing to do it to himself yeah that's i mean that's that's a compliment mr b's yeah good for him good for you um kevin what else we got oh uh apple my favorite brand on the planet introduced uh or they announced yesterday that February 2nd is the era of spatial computing with pre-orders beginning February 19th.
49:34That's next week. And yeah, the Apple Vision Pro is here. I had previously predicted that this was going to get delayed. They announced at the end of the year that it was going to come this year, but they didn't really know when. And I was wrong. They're ready to ship. There you go, Alex. Uh-huh. I also said that I will own this on the first day that it comes out. and I'm officially have some cold feet about that. Oh. Mm-hmm. Yeah. Hmm. Yeah. I mean, I also said I wanted the Cybertruck on the first day. Got some cold feet on that, too. So I don't know. It's not because I don't want this. Like, obviously, I want this, but I'm just not sure it's going to be something that – Just write it off, dude.
50:15I just – I'm not sure it's – I'm going to – like, I'd rather write off a new computer or something. Like, I just don't know if I'm going to use this. Like, when am I going to use this? For your spatial computing needs. Yeah, but am I going to walk into the office and be like, cool, time to get to work and put on my headset and start working and typing? I mean, not if you don't buy it. Well, but I'm just questioning the use. If I'm on an airplane, sick. That feels cool. I feel like if I travel a lot, I feel like that would be pretty tight to be sitting in an airplane. I don't know. I'm trying to think of use cases.
50:51The last thing I want is to pay$3499,$3 ,499, and sort of have this thing sit on a table. That's kind of my concern. Well, we could put it on the shelf. We could put it on the shelf. Like, am I going to bring this to meetings? Like, am I going to be sitting in a meeting on Zoom? I think you should. And everyone is like on Zoom, and they're all in my spatial computing situation? Listen, I think it's sick. Now that I'm convincing myself, I think maybe more. First off, I think if you came to a meeting and you were strapped up. Yeah. If you were strapped up on the meeting, I think that'd be pretty swag.
51:27Okay. Especially if the Zoom technology isn't caught up with the Apple Vision Pro technology and your face isn't an emoji or 3D scanned in. So if you were just on there in your VR goggles, locked in, pretty sweet. Yeah. I mean, listen, I could go either way. Power move. I got a quote from Tim Cook. The era of spatial computing has arrived. Quote, Apple Vision Pro is the most advanced consumer electronics device ever created. Its revolutionary and magical user interface will redefine how we connect, create, and explore. Who knows Tim Cook? He literally yawned. Kevin had a... If you're on YouTube, which you should be, check out YouTube.com slash front center.
52:15This one, we'll see. We're not going on YouTube? Yeah, we could. Maybe. Kevin just actually yawned when I read that quote from Tim Cook. I don't know. I need to re-watch a keynote. And maybe, like, I need to get all the – I need to watch This Is A Real Gun. I need to get, like – You sound so broke right now, bro. Damn, bro. 2023 is a hard year, man. I don't know. I just got$3 ,499 just rolling around, you know, just sitting around to be, you know, know for a device that i might never use sucks to suck yeah i mean i guess sounds like broke boy shit i'm sorry for being so poor kevin um i'm getting these to rock them at the the slopes okay there you go that's definitely safe and definitely a good idea uh yeah i want to be watching uh iron claw while i'm going down a double black yeah i guess while you're going up you can watch it boring ass ski lift yeah yeah you're right with ski life's boring i'm gonna You'll be watching Family Guy on the ski lifts.
53:13Family Guy. Speaking of broke boys, Nike decided to end its relationship with Tiger Woods. They couldn't afford him anymore, I guess. Is that how it happened, or did Tiger Woods end it with Nike? No. It's a good question who ended what. If you're not familiar with Tiger Woods or Nike, Tiger Woods announced on Monday that his long partnership that lasted 27 years was coming to end. Since 96. That's crazy. Yeah, it's the most iconic brand relationship in professional sports history. Pump the brakes on that one, my man. Jordan, definitely more iconic. I mean, these are top five. Yeah, no, I would argue that.
53:54Jordan definitely won. Yeah, 100%. That starts there. But yeah, I mean, LeBron. Tiger has been a Nike athlete since he turned pro in 1996, and since then has worn swooshes at every golf tournament you've ever seen him at. And they've stuck with him through all of the controversy, all of the scandals, all of the instances involving cars. What kind of scandals, Kevin? I don't remember any scandals. What happened? I remember in 08 when his wife, question mark, smashed in his back windshield with a golf club. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. Because she caught him cheating. With Waitress, right? I don't know with who.
54:33I think it was a bunch of women, if I recall correctly. Yeah, he came out as a sex addict, which, you know. Yeah, pretty cool. Yeah, tough out there. He needs help. We can't forget that iconic South Park episode. Oof. I watched the South Park episode over the break, actually. The Pandiverse? Cred. They made an episode about Prime. Oh, really? Yeah. Oh, yeah. I got to check that out. Yeah, yeah. Pretty good. Pretty funny. Sick. Yeah, they made fun of Logan Paul a lot. It was good. It was solid. Yeah. South Park doesn't miss, especially when it comes to like. Yeah, they miss sometimes. Okay, sorry.
55:04They miss a lot. But like they, this was good. So, yeah. What else happened, Kevin? He cheated on his wife? Cheated on his wife. Big sex addiction scandal. Sure. Stuck with him through that. And then he had a pretty bad DUI somewhere in there. Drugs, drugs. The iconic Tiger Woods mugshot. Oh, yeah. You know, zanned out. Yeah, it was bad. Looking rough. Yeah. And then he had a massive car accident. Mm-hmm. Oh, yeah. That almost killed him, I believe, in California. Yeah. That was only a couple years ago. I mean, that's not really a scandal or controversy. That's just a thing that happened. And they said since then he hasn't been rocking the Nike footwear.
55:46Yeah. Which, come on, if you're Nike, get him some shit he can wear. What are you doing? Do you remember Mac Daddy Santa? Remember he was dressed up as Santa Claus? You don't remember? No. Okay, so it was like 2016. 16 he was on instagram or twitter or wherever uh social media and he was he had uh no he was not wearing a shirt he had a bleach beard and he had um a santa claus hat um and he called himself mac daddy santa dudes rock and uh that nike stuck with him through that so he's had some tough moments but uh yeah i guess the relationship is uh it's a wrap so um yeah a lot of obviously tiger woods best years are obviously behind him and one of the things that i read was that nike has been winding down nike golf as a category so they're not making like new shoes and they're not making like uh and clubs like they're they've been like they're not a major player in golf i guess you know nike does a lot of amazing things but like they're not gonna try to compete with the taylor maids and the whatever fucking golf i disagree with that on the shoe level because i don't know i'm not a huge like sneaker head but yeah i will say that um in my time cosplaying as a rich golfer in Arizona.
57:18I did see a couple Jordan 5s or whatever the hell Jordan cut they've got in those golf shoe product line. And they were pretty sick. They were hard. If I was a golfer, I'd be rocking some Nike sneaker golf pleats or shoes, whatever they're called. I don't think they're completely discontinuing Nike golf shoes, but I just think they're not investing in the same way that they were in the past, which is why I imagine this is happening. If they're not going to invest a ton of money into Nike golf, Tiger is sort of at the end of his career. They paid him more than$500 million over the course of his career, which is interesting because I think also Nike does do these deals with these athletes where they do lifetime deals.
58:06like lebron has a lifetime deal with nike he will never will start like this will never happen with lebron but nike's always gonna be in basketball though yeah um i don't know if you saw air in the movie with ben affleck and matt damon not yet a good movie about a meeting with uh that's that's all i'm gonna say without giving it away it's a movie about a meeting and a pretty good movie i liked it i thought it was fun um but yeah no they i think they're all like all the articles are all about how Nike and Tiger are breaking up or essentially they're not continuing this relationship. I tried to Google more about Nike's relationship with golf and how that's really behind all this, and I didn't see a lot of articles about that.
58:48But that's obviously not the more fun. That's not as fun of a story, being like, well, Nike's actually not investing that much into golf, and so therefore they're not going to pay what I imagine other brands. Like other brands, I think he's going to TaylorMade. I think I read. So it's like Tiger is still the most famous golfer on the planet. Yeah. And he's still playing golf. And I imagine they're going to give him more money than Nike would. Yeah, probably. So I think that's what it comes down to. Money. Money talks. Money talks. We got some quotes, though, Kevin. Do you want to hear a quote?
59:23Yeah, please. Oh, from Tiger Woods himself. Over 27 years ago, I was fortunate to start a partnership with one of the most iconic brands in the world. the days since I have been filled with so many amazing moments and memories if I start naming them I could go on forever Phil Knight's passion and vision brought this Nike and Nike golf partnership together and I want to personally thank him along with Nike employees incredible athletes I've had the pleasure of working with along the way classy classy you know when I think of Tiger Woods I think of class yeah 100 % and listen do I care about this?
59:55not really but is it it's a big story It's a big story. Kevin, is there a point in your life that you think you'll pick up golf? You see yourself? I can picture it. 100%. I just love ball is life. I love ball. Yeah, and you love hanging with the homies. Yeah, and I love having a couple beers on a nice sunny day. Being outside. Smoking a stogie. Touching some grass. Yeah. That's why I ask, because if I think about golf and all the things that Kevin likes, the circles, there's a lot of overlap. Love hitting balls. Yeah, how's your game? Pretty bad. Okay. I don't really get out that often because I live in New York City.
1:00:31Yeah. I don't have the space, time, or money to get to the golf course as frequently as I could, you know, if I had those things that I just said. Okay. But we'll see. I mean, I could – I've been dying for a summer hobby. Yeah, because you've got golf – sorry, you've got skiing during the winter. Golf is a pretty good one. Kevin, before we get out of here, a couple quick hitters. Native, the deodorant brand, did a partnership with the Girl Scouts where their flavors for their deodorants taste like cookies. Smell like cookies. You don't eat deodorant? They smell like cookies. Oh, this is way worse than I thought it was.
1:01:16I thought you could eat the deodorant. This is gross. I don't know. Why would you ever want to smell? Like a Tagalong. A Thin Mint. Yeah. Yeah. What the fuck? Yeah. If you smell like a Thin Mint, I'm stealing something from your house. Yeah. And they have the cookies on the deodorant or on the body wash. Is Native like a natty-leaning company? Yeah, I think so. That's crazy because like Girl Scout cookies are the least natty thing. Like it goes against that ethos like in the most extreme way. Those are nasty. Those could survive a nuclear war. Those are shelf stable for about 125 years. The cookies?
1:02:02Yeah, 100%. I mean, the cookies are - They're delicious, but they are pumped with everything. Okay. What's your favorite Girl Scout cookie? The peanut butter. This is Tagalongs? Tagalongs, yeah. I like those. The Samoas are also iconic. Yeah, Samoas are classic. And then, yeah. Yeah, I think this is weird. It's a weird partnership. Also, Girl Scouts making money. I hope this money is going to the right causes because I don't know. It just feels weird. The fact that this is going to be in CVSs and Walmarts and whatever. I don't know. I don't like this. I don't like this at all. Another thing I don't really love, Doritos Cilantro.
1:02:42So this is a new flavor exclusively in Australia. Exclusively like 500 bags? Yeah. And this is making its way around the internet, I guess. It's a vivid green package. Yeah, the pack goes hard. Which kind of looks crazy. It's got a fuck ton of cilantro on it. And yeah, only 500 packs. And I think what they're trying to do is tap into that weird thing that happens when there are some people that think cilantro tastes like soap. Yeah, they got that gene. Shout out to my friend Scott. He has that. and yeah I mean I think they have they're trying to like create some sort of like moment which the fact that we're talking about this obviously shows that it was somewhat of a success but like I mean the packaging looks pretty great and also the Dye Line reported on it shout out to Dye Line the best in the biz I um yeah oh there's also a soap there's a Doritos soap is there actually a soap or is it just a just a piece of marketing who knows but I don't know Alex likes to do this thing right before the show he's like all right these two topics we're not going to talk about them but then he gets to the bottom of the dock and he's like uh you know what the hell listen i'm like uh i read whatever's in the prompter you know and i see the prompter and i get to the end and i'm like yeah we can talk about this for a second even though they're not really good stories and i don't really know much about them and i don't really care um i love doritos i love uh cool ranch i love the purple bag i don't know what those things are called sweet chili sweet chili big fan uh so shout out to doritos big fan sweet um and then oh last before we get out of here shout out to my friends at coca-cola alex ames rebecca smith uh they put out a commercial with chris storerer he's the uh he's the creator of the bear he directed a commercial for coca-cola it's actually uh really good yeah and um what i love about it is it sort of feels like the bear uh except for none of the bear characters are in it it's a family and it's about a story of a new guy who comes for Christmas and he's anxious and I can relate.
1:04:43I was once the new guy at a Christmas with my wife's family. And yeah, it's a relatable spot and it's got a lot of extreme close-ups because you know that's what they like to do in the mirror. Yeah. And it's a good spot. People were talking about it because it's, I think, maybe the first spot or certainly one of the first spots where Coca-Cola family of products are incorporated. so there's like someone drinking a coke someone drinking a sprite someone drinking a smart water someone drinking like an honest kids product so they have like the coca-cola family of products not just one spot and nothing stronger than family nothing stronger than family kevin thank you uh i hope they run this during the super bowl or during the playoffs one thing about playoffs and golden globes or award season commercials like commercials are coming I've seen there were so many pharmaceutical ads during the Golden Globes that's what's they have so many pharma ads Pfizer and then like just a million other things I can't pronounce or don't know what they are but like laughter is the best medicine laughter is the best medicine and if you don't like laughter then Sky Rizzy yeah or whatever the fuck else they're selling that's the show today welcome back Kevin 2024 in the house yeah it's gonna be a great year this is a great start to the year we got a lot of resolutions to work on and we got a lot of them involved being the best podcasters we can be salute sweet thanks
1:06:41Guess who just got there today That wild-eyed voice that had been away Haven't changed, hadn't much to say But man, I still think them cats are crazy They were asking if you were around How you was, where you could be found Told them you were living downtown
