I don't know Hard to say You're the producer of this show Kevin I haven't run this bit in a while What? I've run this bit Oh this is self-aware Cold open Oh is there anything cold open in there? Okay maybe it's this Maybe it's actually Let's get the show on the road What we're doing right now Boom hit the music
253, 2, 1 Kevin What's up? Happy July 4th Kevin Yeah I had a good one Did you have a good one? For relevant content. That's very relevant. Yeah. That happened. Yeah, sometimes all motherfucking needs is a long weekend. I've been saying that. You know, sometimes you need a three, four, hell even five-day weekend. Yeah. Maybe even a week. No, three weeks. Three is all you need. Maybe a nice sabbatical would be nice. Just that extra day, and you get that extra good feeling, and then you come back nice and rested. Definitely. Do you feel rested, Kevin? No, I'm tired. Me too. I actually think I feel more tired coming back from a three-day weekend.
04Yeah, it's probably because you want to keep chilling. Yeah, you might be. That's just your body's response. Your body just wants to keep chilling and relaxing. Yeah, it got comfortable in being comfortable. Yeah. And it's like, oh, shit, I got to get back to working. We can all agree working is not great. Who's going to carry the boats, Alex? Who's going to carry the boats? My weekend was great, Kevin. I was out on Long Island for a little bit. I got some color. I spent some time with the family family nice nice sometimes all you need is a home cooked meal oh yeah that's good and I was very lucky to receive one of those barbecue chicken some pasta salad some corn on the cob hell yeah shit was hitting right nice I got some family time coming up oh nice that's true I got going to my nephew's got a baseball tournament this weekend oh wow and then I'm going home at the end of July You were at the July 4th hot dog.
03Nathan's famous. Yeah. I mean, I was a witness to greatness. It wasn't maybe as great as I wanted it to be. I mean, the man ate 71 hot dogs. 71 and a half. And you seemed disappointed. No, he ate 70 and a half hot dogs, actually, because the line was 70 and a half. I mean, I wasn't disappointed. I'm just a little, you know, pockets a little light right now. Oh, you lost money on the situation. Okay. Yeah, you know, I was pretty bullish. um i mean i saw the temperature it's supposed to be high of 80 that was just a lie i let night before i said high 80 and it was it was it was close to 90 there it was it was real hot it was a scorcher um and you know being out there all day you do it at noon right yeah the midday yeah that's a terrible time i got in line at well what are i supposed to do it i mean just for the hot temperature wise like that's that's got to be yeah you know on the peak sun moments of the day Yeah, it's the perfect time on the 4th of July because you get the whole day in front of you after that.
56Home, chilling at 1.30. Oh, beautiful. You were there at 7.15? Yeah, in line at 7.15. How many people are there at 7.15? Probably like 50. Okay. Probably 50 or 60. I'm really bad at gauging people. Okay. I wasn't as far front in the line as I would have liked. Okay. It didn't really matter. I had a great spot. What time do you leave the house to get there at 7.15? I left at like 6.30. Baby. Yeah. That's an early rise. and how how are they uh as organizers of uh the queue of a line it's good they they got it down yeah i mean the event's actually really well run okay you know they let us in at nine you know i was able to bring my two bottles of water my burrito and my compact chair inside so i was able to i was able to switch my friend susan came with me and oh yeah so we we took turns on the chair um i was pretty hyped so i i didn't really sit down very much but yeah um just the energy the adrenaline yeah i mean the waiting game is the waiting is the hardest part you know you get there get in there at 9 15 you know you get settled in you find your spot um i had a great spot i was like probably three or four rows back i was looking for you on the broadcast with a direct view of mickey pseudo and joey chestnut yeah what time do the festivities kind of kick off They probably started stuff at like, probably 10.30.
18Okay. The women ate at 10.45. Oh, okay. Or they started the intros at 10.45. Got it, George Shea. So maybe like 10.15 they started stuff. Sick, okay. They started rolling some entertainment out. Okay. A couple dance brigades. Okay. Troops, the Bun Boys, the Bunettes. They don't show this on TV. They had an opera singer. They had a guy who George Shea dubbed as the Brazilian Bon Jovi. Badlands, of course. Okay. They had a meat stick eating contest this year. Wow. Badlands lost, unfortunately. Nathan's is launching a new meat stick. To promote it, they had a meat stick eating contest. Can you explain what a meat stick is?
02We have them in the drawer over there, but it's like a beef stick. Oh, so it's jerky. Yeah, it's like hot dog flavored jerky. Got it. Which, you know. Okay. Shout out to Nathan's. Sounds delicious. Is this in the CPG game? Is this going to be available in the supermarkets? I think so. I think it'll be launching soon. But Badlands Lost. And, you know, meat stick eating contest is probably, like, a harder thing to do than a hot dog eating contest. There's, you know, no moisture. The texture gets all weird. And you're probably chewing forever. Nathan's famous meat sticks. Yeah. How many meat sticks did...
39It was a race to get five down. Five down? Yeah. Which is tough. That feels like not that many, though. Well, it felt, you know, you try eating five of those. I mean, I think the contest ran like two minutes maybe. Okay. And then Badlands Chugs got a lemonade? Oh, yeah. That's like his thing, right? Well, yeah. So last year they did the chug off, and one of the guys was spewing all over the place. Oh, gross. So I think they were like, yeah, we can't have that happen again. And so they just let him attempt a two-gallon lemonade jug, which he didn't get. So he lost the meat stick eating contest.
13He was unable to chug two gallons of lemonade. Jeez, tough day for Badlands. I know. But I mean, they're putting that guy to work. If you don't know him, check him out on YouTube, Badlands Chugs. He's a big chugger. Okay. And he also raps. So he, you know, on his intro, you know, they kind of run the same bits every year. Okay. But they're great bits. Okay. But on his intro, like George Shea starts rapping. And then, you know, Badlands starts rapping too. Okay. I mean, he must have rapped like five times. Shout out to Badlands. He's got 3.6 million subscribers on YouTube. Yeah, he's big. It seems like he's got some, he's chugging Arizona.
49He's chugging Sprite. He's chugging everything, man. Yeah, he chugs everything. I mean, he's a - Good for him, man. He's awesome. He rocks. Good for him. He's making a living doing this. I love to see that. But yeah, I mean, great bits. Yeah. Yeah. The intros are a lat-trick. Oh, yeah. George Hayes. The intros are crazy. I mean, George Hayes is the best to ever do it, to be honest with you. I mean. They ran one bit, which is probably the best bit. I mean, and I've heard the bit before, too. But he went on this in 2011. We created the World National Anthem. And he was talking about how to create unity and foster community amongst the global citizens of the world yada yada yada and then they were like we're about to play it and then they start playing it and it's uh booty work by t-pain and then they have like a they had a procession of basically like they must have like access to like 20 flags like they just have like 20 flags laying around okay like okay you know that's all the ohio flag out there like you know some state flags and then they had some like random country flags like brazil and china and like they had like 20 people process across the stage.
05I mean, it's beautiful. It's a beautiful celebration of America. It's a beautiful song, too. Yeah, yeah. I mean, T-Pain is, I mean, should, you know, again, that should be our national anthem. You know, T-Pain is a national treasure. It's the world national anthem, Alex. Oh, got it. Okay. Yeah. I don't know if I mentioned this. I saw T-Pain at Coachella. And again, one of our great - He's at Radio City Music Hall in September. I just saw that. He's an international treasurer. I would love to see him. And one of the great performers. and just a you know just a great guy all around yeah um my my highlight was i i uh was able to get a hot dog hat uh the famous foam hot dog hat yeah i saw those okay great i had i jumped got up i you know moshed a couple people okay they were throwing them out yeah they're throwing them out i've never gotten one before i got a shirt wow kevin uh this is great i got a hot dog hat and then i actually bought a piece of merch there wow which i don't remember them ever selling merch but makes sense feels like they got in the merch game fire fire shirts really really good shirts wow wow i'm excited to see arden got a like a yellow one okay beautiful shirt wow just a regular ass nathan shirt it was great i'm excited as as someone that grew up uh in the hometown of the second famous nathan's dog the first one obviously famously connie allen second one oceanside um i i'm you know nathan's is one of my all-time favorite brands and um yeah we'll be happy to see it.
23I'm just happy to see them out here thriving. Definitely. And yeah, the tradition continues. Joey's back. The legend. Joey's back. 70 dogs. I mean, listen. 70 and a half. The second place guy was like 40. Yeah, he didn't break 50. He was in the 40s. Bertoletti, last year's champ. Yeah. Not even a close competition. Well, yeah, I knew my wager was in trouble when Mickey Sudo only ate like in the 40s. Yeah. And I don't know what was going on with her. What is her record? She's like 50. I think her record's like 52. She would dominate the men's competition if Joey wasn't there. Yeah, I mean, she could compete for sure.
03Yeah. But I don't know. I knew I was in trouble. Slow buns. Slow buns, yeah. The damn slow buns, dude. Yeah. Well, I mean, also, he wasn't there last year. So, again, he may have lost a sense of the moment. I guess. I don't know. You just think it was a hot day, hot buns. It was the bun. I mean, he came out the gate. Like I've never seen anyone like I've, I've, I've witnessed, I've been close before, but yeah, I felt like his first like four minutes were some of the most impressive eating I've ever seen in my life. Wow. Wow. Beautiful. It was electric. And then he, I feel like he kind of petered out in that like four to five, not petered out, but like his pace slowed a little bit as, as between minutes four and five.
42And I think that was the kiss of death for the over. Yeah. But he lost, he lost some momentum. Honestly, just being there, having some skin in the game, I was locked in. The experience was awesome. I don't even mind the loss. I was just appreciating the moment and being that locked in, watching him demolish dogs. Everyone's chanting Joey. It was a beautiful time. Beautiful. And, you know, again, just like I don't know exactly how old he is, but, I mean, the fact that he continues to push himself and the limits of the sport, it's just, you know, there's just greatness. and you know we got to appreciate greatness uh in any in any sort of form that we can find it and i last question is do you get a hot dog is that like after you watch someone eat 70 dogs in that fashion are you like i need to go eat a hot dog are you um i mean i would have liked to have a hot dog after it but i feel like the line would have been pretty crazy and also like basically when the event ends they prioritize the people in the pit just getting out of there basically open the gates and like you know you just get to go to right to the subway got it um So just getting on the train is pretty easy from the pit.
48Yeah. You don't have to like really walk through any people or like kind of a protected path right to the subway. Beautiful. You don't spend any time at Coney Island. You're just there to see greatness. And then you're... It's a long day. It makes sense. You're out there at 7.15. I got a really good partner pleaser tan line going right now. That's probably going to last all summer, I think. Well, good. I'm glad you got a good base tan for the season. I was before my off of July 4th, I went to go check out the fireworks here in Transmitter Park. And it was packed. And because people want to see the fireworks from the Brooklyn Bridge.
24And I think that was probably the best vantage point from Greenpoint. And I was there and a full on fight broke out. Oh, no, like a brawl. And I was really close to it. Two guys like literally right next to me. What were they fighting about? Yeah, unclear. They were just kind of yapping off to each other. And then one guy threw something at the other guy's family and it was full on. And I was like, oh, fuck. You know, this Brooklyn rat race, everyone's all tight in sort of tight quarters. And the Transmitter Park is a beautiful place. And then all of a sudden, next thing I know, some guys on the ground getting his face busted.
56That's crazy. That sounds like hell. Yeah. I was like, I need to go. You got to be on a roof. You got to be elevated. I need to get out of here. But I mean, there's really nothing better than Fourth of July in New York on a rooftop. Even if you have a shitty view of the fireworks, the main event fireworks, you get a 360 panorama of people popping off. And I saw some good fireworks. There were some good fireworks. I will say I definitely sort of missed the years when it was in the East River directly in front of my apartment because it's been on the west side last year and now it's all the way downtown.
31They'll bring it back. So hopefully they bring it back before I'm out of my apartment. In 2021, I think it was, yeah, it was 2021. They did it on the East River, like literally right there. I took it for granted. I thought it would be that way every year. That was awesome. I was up on the studio roof and it was electric. That's why we can't go up there anymore. Yeah, you probably shouldn't bleep that out here, Kevin. I mean, they know. Oh, Kevin, you know what comes back today? Statue of Limitations. Netflix quarterback with your boy Joe Burrow. Yeah. Oh, yeah. I saw a little content today. Yeah.
05I'm excited. You know what? I think we need to chill out with like spoiling the best moments of content, right? Like a show comes out on Netflix or shows out on, you know, Love Island. It's like, can we just like give it 24 hours? Cause like, I want to watch the quarterback show, but I don't want to see all the best moments today before I even have a chance. Well, who's doing that? Is Netflix doing it to promote it? Or is it just like, you know, TikTok, aggregator accounts? I think it's, it's both, but I think it's probably more of the latter where people are just like oh there's a funny moment where joe burrow does something random and so it's like okay cool let's clip it let's put it on tiktok so that i can get views and it's like i mean listen i probably am not gonna watch that show for a couple days maybe i might hold it i might you know i don't know it's that's good a plus uh content so i'm not just trying to cram it all into today because it came out today yeah yeah it does suck to have to like kind of rush watch it or avoid the internet, I guess.
02I mean, maybe we should all be avoiding screen time. Yeah. Just give it a little bit of time, but I get why people are just like, oh, I got something good that people are going to click. I got something that people are going to get their attention. Oh, I'm going to get these views. I'm going to get these fucking views because of this clip. And it's like, just chill out. Kevin, everyone is calling for, speaking of content, people are calling for the bear to close down. Well, spoiler alert. they got renewed for a fifth season okay yeah is this they didn't announce whether that'll be the last one no i mean i i think we've talked about this program on the show it's a great show but it's been it's been losing its luster yeah it's definitely it's uh you hate to see it and especially since like i feel like the first season really shined pretty bright and you know part of it is like the expectation that people have and the expectations people are thrusting upon it yes be this like great show yeah yeah one of the greats but i don't know man it's it's hard i mean i'll probably watch it i'll probably enjoy it yeah i started it and it's boring like i get it like i think it's just not high paced it's they're fast paced enough i think for people just wait just wait i'm sure there will be uh some there there will be a couple very stressful montages and i think ultimately like stressful montages or sad family sort of like monologues and it's just a bit depressing you know it's just not a fun watch yeah but he's so fucked up bro i know but it's just but it's a comedy it's not it's not a comedy there's nothing funny about that show the fact that they've won comedy like emmys and things like that is laughable the show is deeply depressing and mostly dramatic if anything and it's not it's not funny it's not even joyful it's just it's just a tough watch and i think that's ultimately why i've slowed down on watching it because i'm like it just doesn't have click appeal you know you're like i'm not like oh god i want to go get another one of those episodes especially when you compare it to some of this other reality slop that's just like oh my god you love the reality slop i mean it's just uh those are easy to watch this is there's nothing you know these are hard watches and these like very intense close-ups of jeremy allen white's face it's just i i get it what i get it it's beautiful and it's like cinematic and he's sick and twisted bro i mean he's a perfectionist he's just struggling so you're kind of like jeremy allen white of uh graphic design alex i mean listen this is my bear this is the bear this is the bear and i i get it man chasing greatness is hard you know i i understand uh the struggles and the grind it's just you know it's not for everybody dude it's just not for everybody dude um what are we what should we talk about tevin today um people are complaining about liquid glass again i'm i didn't download it i'm gonna be real well they're complaining either way it's like they complained about they complained about the original launch and then now people are like oh this this isn't like the original launch and then it's like i don't know you have something in here that people are comparing the beta launch to the second beta launch a third beta launch and it seems like they are turning down the transparency of the glass, which if I, again, we don't go backwards and listen to the tape.
20I believe I predicted this. It's probably a usability thing. I think I said this was like the glass transparency, like when it's super sort of clear, it becomes a bit of a challenge with the content. So I think you said that exactly. That's what I'm saying. I think there's got to be a way to make it more frosted so that the transparency isn't quite as intense. And it seems like that's what they're doing. The only frosty glass I care about is a freaking pint It was a nice cold beer I had a nice cold beer last night actually At the Rees Brewing Oh hell yeah Delicious Was it frosted? Was the mug frosted?
57It wasn't but I do like a frosted mug You know those frosted mugs? Who? Capri Social Where the fuck is that? It's on like Collier and Lorimer I think Okay Do you see that bureau at Ray's now? Oh yeah I saw the mural Yeah we have a mural in the streets Yo, Raze is the spot, bro. You hate Raze. I fuck with Raze. I heavily fuck with Raze. Okay. I'm at Raze. The beef was - I'm at Raze every night, bro. Okay, you're doing the bit now. No, it's my place, dude. That's where you go. I'm a Greenpoint villain. I'm in my Greenpoint fuckboy era. I love it, dude. You need a Greenpoint tattoo, actually. I should, yeah.
37On the neck. I should get - Well, they probably have a tattoo night coming up that I can go and get a free tattoo maybe i get a raised tattoo and get free drinks for the rest of my life that would be sick actually you should just get one that says franklin ave no i'm gonna get i'm just gonna get i'm gonna get the raised logo oh you know what uh my wife my wife showed me last night or this morning actually she showed me a picture that someone sent her of someone walking down franklin ave dragging one of the pencils from the pencil factory oh i saw that i saw that yesterday like a crucifix they don't start dragging it in the street is this going around i know i just literally saw i saw her oh you saw it on the street i saw her on the way back how the fuck did she get one of those i need that i might just be like a big pencil they might i feel like they have that shit at uh dream fish and tackle whatever what they have giant pencils from the pencil factory or just probably not i don't think it's it's definitely not from the pencil factory the pencil factory pencils are probably like you know oh you think it's they're probably just massively heavy yeah i was gonna say yeah like i would like concrete or stone or some I would pay top dollar for a pencil factory, a pencil type.
43I know it's great. Pull one in the studio would be electric. Yeah, definitely. But I think it was just a regular ass. God, it's you think people are, I mean, big pencils exist. That's fair. I love oversized things. Yeah. I mean, we should, we should get one. We should copy her. Shout out to dream fish and tackle. Absolutely. I'm sure they have a big pencil. I should actually, you should gatekeep dream fish and tackle because everyone knows about it, but like maybe. No, I mean, it's, it's on gate keepable. Everyone knows about it. I mean, the price is a gatekeeper. Let's be honest. Yeah, yeah. Good.
10Because the product in there is top of the line. The best in the biz. Yeah, it's all right. It's all right. There's better stores on that block. Are you watching Wimbledon, Kevin? Wimbledon? No. No, not. What's that reality show? It's not clocking for you? No, it's a tennis tournament. No, I'll probably catch the final. Yeah. I don't know. When it starts getting competitive. Yeah. I'll keep track of it, maybe. The big story is Ben Shelton, who is the 22-year-old American who is tearing it up. He's a star of that Netflix show. So I feel like I've been following him a little bit. I thought the big story was the all-white Stella Artois cans.
49We'll get to that. But yeah, the real big story is Ben Shelton because he's dope. He's dating Trinity Rodman, Dennis Rodman's daughter, who's also the best soccer player in the world. and after his last win like July 4th weekend he in his like press conference or when they gave him a mic afterwards he asked his sister's employer who is Morgan Stanley if they would give her more days off so she could stay and watch the tournament. Wow, that's pretty good. And of course she got the days off. Wow. Yeah. Legendary move, right? Big look for Morgan Stanley. Yeah. Big shout out. Of course. You know, they're like, hey, my sister has to go back to work tomorrow.
32But if her employer, Morgan Stanley, would give her some extra days, she could stay. So she got the days. I'll have to give that a go next time I need more days. That's right. Exactly. You got a shot. Say it into a microphone. Yeah. Say it on a massive platform. That's right. Exactly. Yeah. The design story coming out of Wimbledon is the all-white can for Stella Artois. And yeah, I saw it on the die line. It's been getting some rounds. And I think it's cool, right? I'm not entirely sure why David Beckham is modeling this. Because he's classy. I guess he's British. Because he looks good in a suit.
09And he does look damn good in a suit. And he is like the face of Stella Artois. So they're like, cool. Well, yeah, that's exactly. All those reasons are why he's. Yeah, so just like make him the model for everything. Yeah, of course. You need someone to hold it. Of course. He's got cool tattoos. Yeah, sure. So basically the idea here is because the tournament only allows the players to wear all white, the can is all white. And you are allowed to have stripe piping, I guess. And so they are using green and purple piping around the top, which are the colors of the tournament. Great look. Yeah, it looks really pretty cool.
47The all white has some white on white embossing kind of vibes. And yeah, it's very chic. Yeah, I love the embossing. I think it's really tight. I'm a little jealous. I'm a little tight myself because there's a non-alcoholic beer brand that we work with that we may have thrown some ideas into the ring that felt adjacent, similar. And those ideas will be – who knows? I imagine they pay top dollar to be the official drink of the Wimbledon. So maybe by the time Bureau gets that honor, maybe this one people have forgot about. Yeah. Who knows? Who knows? but yeah it's well done shout out to JKR I feel like I would have liked it maybe a little bit better without the piping controversial take here just go all white I could get down with that I think the piping at the top feels like maybe something maybe they I think they could have used one pipe one pipe versus two pipes yeah two pipes is a bit much I bet there's a non-piped version that JKR did that they probably liked a lot more.
58And then the piping came in to get some critical information. They got to get the brand information on there. They got to get the Wimbledon brand out in the world. Yeah, some critical sort of call-outs, as you know, in the packaging biz. There's some things you need to get on the label. But it does look like it just says Wimbledon 2025. So I guess that's all I can see. Well, shout out to everyone involved. Um, another, another project, uh, in the design world is a rebrand by Koto for TripAdvisor. Is TripAdvisor Kevin? No, never, never. I have been known to dabble. I think it's a, it's a funny place.
38It's an interesting place on the internet because there's Yelp, right? Which is mostly for restaurants. And then, you know, you got like every motherfucker on planet earth on like TikTok being like, these are the five places I went to eat when I went to New York. those videos or those carousels they get me every time I just want I'm like where did they go where did they get their pizza when they were in New York did they go to industry did they go to scars I just find myself swiping and then I guess TikTok knows me so they're just feeding me that but if you don't have the time or the patience for those and you just want kind of like a mainstream trip guidance if you want to do some old fashioned reading if you want to do some old fashioned research and you're going on a trip and you're like, where are the places I want to go?
25You can get some very real takes. Yeah. Like some mainstream family and people that are keeping it real. They're not looking for the trendiest things on planet. They're like, this hotel was nice. And this restaurant wasn't worth the money. And I will say it gets quite unhinged at times. or the people on there. It's a very, it's a democratic platform. And I think you get some pretty personal stories. You get some really kind of honest photography of like the corner of the bathroom where maybe there's a couple of random like cracks in the wall or something like that. And so I think that's, I think that's what I think of when I think of TripAdvisor.
11It's like, it's an honest place. And I think the, what people say is sort of the star of the show. Yeah, yeah. And I think this brand, Rebrand by Kodo, kind of embraces that idea. And they put the, like, quotes at the heart of the brand system. There's a typeface that is sort of fun and playful. And, you know, it's fun. It's a colorful, type-forward system. And, you know, here at the Center of Design Studio LLC, we like those kind of things. There is a nice piece in the case study that says, like, putting travelers front and center. Yeah. Is that a callback to us? I did see that. I mean, we'll start prepping the cease and desist.
53I mean... No, I mean, it is cool that they brought the traveler's voice front and center. I think that's the coolest thing about this brand is it's real talk, you know? Yeah, and I think that's what I think of when I think of TripAdvisor. Like, it's mostly the comments and, like, what people are saying and the advice. And they're quite trusted, you know? It's a sort of democratic, like I said, it's a universal point of view. And it's like you're going on a trip and you don't want the sort of TikTok-y kind of this. There's more curated places for, obviously, Infatuation or some of these other great fora is a really good travel blog.
33But this is like the realness. Yeah, I mean, this kind of reminded me of Infatuation. Yeah. And I think it's in the same general vein of expert recommendations. Maybe this one's not expert recommendations. It's traveler recommendations, but it's like celebrating all the voices and all the occasions. Yes. This is the aggregate of the people. Yeah. And I think it's a really nice job. They took the logo and they turned that, I guess, into this typeface. And it reminds me a lot of the Amazon rebrand, which Kodo did about three months ago. and yeah I mean it's just bold and colorful and kind of fun I saw Elizabeth Goodspeed posted this and a couple of the other Kodo sort of rebrands as like you know kind of of a style and she was you know asking what the the trend is called because she's the she's the foremost sort of curator of trends isn't that her job well she was she was outsourcing and Kodo core became the Oh, KonoCore.
32It became the winning vote, which, yeah, I guess they do all these rebrands. That's kind of cool to have your own trend. I know, man. We need to start working on CenterCore, whatever that is. But yeah, no, TripAdvisor, it's an unhinged place, and I think it's because of those comments and those reviews from the people, and I like that they celebrate it. I lied. I have used TripAdvisor. I used it last year when I went to Italy. Damn, how dare you lie on this program to our listeners? I forgot. Kevin? I'm sorry. Never again. Thank you. I appreciate your apology. I accepted. I'd actually like to apologize one more time.
07Absolutely fucking no one. I ran that bit again. Yeah. Speaking of unhinged comments and reviews, I was looking at Turo for a rental car. I like Turo quite a bit. I have been known to rent a car because I got rid of my car. So when I'm going out to the beach or I'm going on vacation, I get a car for a day. and I sometimes go to Enterprise. I've been going to Avis now. There's one in Williamsburg. They got good rates. Shout out to Avis. And, you know, every now and then I'll go to Turo, try to get a nice car, you know, trying to step it up a little bit. I like the rates on, I think the rates on Turo are very fair.
47And the rates on Turo can sometimes be fair. It's sometimes confusing as to like, some days it's really expensive and some days it's not. I don't know, whatever. I've done Turo a bunch. And so I was looking at Turo and I was looking at this Jeep. I believe it was a Jeep Liberty, which is a car that I once had. Is it your old one? It's very similar to my old car. And this review caught me off guard. I took a screen grab and I'll just read it from Yoko from January 2025. It was this year for a review of a car that was still available to rent, by the way, to reserve. Car caught on fire. Host is nice.
25And had the car been up to standards, I'm sure it would have been a wonderful experience. I am just grateful to be alive and that's all I ask for at this point that's great I'm grateful I'm grateful they're alive as well yeah me too the fact that that car is still being available and leased out to people is insane car caught on fire I'm just grateful to be alive do you think it's your old car? didn't your mechanic be like give us the paperwork and we'll make it disappear yeah this may be my old car and my old car also caught on fire Yeah. Yeah. So maybe shout out to cheap liberties. But that is an insane comment.
05Also, host is nice and the car been up to the standards. I'm sure it would have been a nice trip, except for the part where it started burning and I had to escape for my life. It's valuable information. Yeah. I mean, I'm glad that they put that information on. Yeah, 100%. I had started as one of my potential sort of cars for the trip. Was it cheap? I mean, it was definitely an affordable. Roll the dice. Yeah. but i'm not cheap it off roll the dice i'm not getting i don't think i'm gonna rent the car for fear of my life kevin the car caught on fire car catches on fire you just get out what are you talking about i guess you bring up a good point i mean if you can't get out of the car in time before it explodes i mean i mean i'm sure there's people who can't but you know if you're you're you're you're an athletic guy you get out of the car i mean what am i training for if i can't get out of the car quickly um kevin uh another rebrand uh not not not done by koto is done by rob mcelhenny uh he did you say his name right i did his name because i watched that video that you put in the doc here rob mcelhenny is rebranding to just rob mac wow awesome really cool um rob mac i think he's rebranding to uh ryan reynolds he is i never watched oe sunny did you Yeah, when I was in high school.

18Yeah. Like the relevant time to watch it, like when it was in the heyday of the good seasons. People swear it's like one of the best shows ever made. It's funny. People love it. I've never seen a single episode. I've laughed. You've laughed. Kevin has laughed. I liked it. I liked it for a while. I still probably would enjoy watching some of the older episodes. Yeah. I'm sure they're funny. I'm sure one day if I ever need something to binge watch, again, there's another pandemic. Yeah, it's a good sitcom. Probably. Good sitcom. I only know him as Ryan Reynolds' business partner in the Wrexham show, which I'm still watching.
55And he always seemed cooler than Ryan Reynolds, which is not a hard thing to do. But he seemed like a guy that was more of the people and was sort of not a Hollywood star quite as much as Ryan Reynolds. And so he's a Philadelphia Eagle fan. He's a Philadelphia sports fan. Yeah. again tortured fan base which i can relate yeah he did seem like a man of the people he seemed like a man of the people i think he's spent he's spending too much time with ryan reynolds oh rubbing off on him and the cringe and the hollywoodness is all rubbing off the fake face and now you call fat removal yeah the sculpted chin he's got a weird face the eyes his eyes look weird too yeah and i think he's uh slowly but surely we're losing i mean he literally in this picture i pulled he looks like ryan reynolds like he looks like he's you're going to the same guy you're right he's he's trying to transform into ryan reynolds yeah which i mean what a terrible thing to decide to do yeah i still like the wrexham show i i have to admit it it's a great program as far as sports stocks go um when i had my my injury i watched a couple episodes and i cried at the finale it was a beautiful it's a beautiful ryan reynolds had you crying i mean Not him.
11He's the worst part of the show, but the team and the story and the town, Kevin. It's not about the town. Well, Ryan Reynolds produced that thing. I know, but it's a well-made show. You love Ryan Reynolds, too. Yeah, I guess I do. I also read that they have purchased another franchise, another soccer team, and they're making another show for that one. Oh, wow. Just running it back. Yeah, I guess it's working. Good for them. Keep going. But Rob Mack, I guess his name is hard to say. McElhenney. sure whatever but rob mac is so so cringy yeah what you know it's so terrible but not worse than the face the face is pretty bad the face is and the video announcing his uh name change was also pretty bad as well uh he made a video wait yeah it was like a minute long he had a counter he said uh i know there's a lot of things going on in the world and i don't want to take up too much airspace but i'm going to do one minute on why i'm changing my name and it's like shut up just live with people mispronouncing your name.
09These two people love a self-aware minute-long bitty piece of content. Even the show, they like... He should have changed his last name to Rob Reynolds. They love bits. They're just cringy. They beat them to death. They're always self-aware. The tone of these bits, they're so bitty. and they can't help themselves but just making these dumb videos and these dumb bits and they think they're so funny. People love them. Oh, God, they're so cringy. Just, just, just, just, I can't even talk about how secondhand embarrassment, how much of it is involved in everything that these guys do. Just, but the team and the soccer and the club and the town, that stuff is.
05no that's a business and a story that's a story we're sharing but they ruin it with their faces and their Disney bullshit it's just too much for me but shout out to them before we get out of here Kevin 50 Cent is 50 years old I've never felt older when I saw this in the channel I was like wow 50 Cent he celebrated with a nice AI aging video shout out to 50 Cent he loves AI loves ai videos loves ai photos go through his feed and scroll and he's using like a good ai generator he like some of the photos actually like they look like him but it's just like uncanny and the texture and lighting is just kind of off um the man has always um been a provocateur yeah and And his internet persona is a slop generator.
01Yeah, definitely. A shit poster. Oh, he's a shit poster, yeah. And he's been this way for a long time. Since the internet began. This is 50 was his blog, or didn't he have a blog? and he was just, he's been one of the great users of the internet platform to keep his name in the mix and to taunt people, to post all sorts of stuff that the metric and the barrier for posting is very low. Yeah. He'll post anything. Good, yeah. We need people like him. AI is perfect. Oh, for sure. Those videos where people age are always a little creepy, right? Yeah, definitely. When people change in real time and they like grow up and they change their backgrounds.
50Yeah. I don't like AI, but 50 Cent can use it. He has my permission. 50. 50 years of 50 Cent, man. Good for it. Happy birthday. You see he's getting an action channel with Lionsgate. I don't know what that means. So he's like curating like a free, I guess the old word would be cable network. Okay. But it's like on Roku and like some of the streaming platforms, apps, devices, whatever. But basically, he's like going to curate movies and movies and shows that are, you know. Great. About that action. Good for him. You know, I'm happy for him. And I'm glad that he's still in the line. And he's going to be in the new Street Fighter movie, which is going to be star-studded.
36Fantastic. I've been waiting for the new Street Fighter movie. I mean, it actually, I mean, they got a lot of heavy hitters in it. They got people? Yeah, they got people. I don't know who, I can't remember who, but I looked at the cast yesterday and I was like, oh, all right. I'm going to be real with you, Kevin. I'm not seeing that movie. It's just not for me. I might watch it when it starts streaming. Yeah. But yeah. Well, that I believe is the program, Kevin. I need to get back to being like that Indonesian guy at the front of the boat, you know? Yeah. He's just kind of vibing and everyone else is behind him rowing.
10He's not just vibing, Alex. He's dictating the cadence and tempo of the rowing. That's exactly what I do here at Center. Definitely. You should take a... That's me. Yeah, definitely. I relate to that guy so much. Yeah, I mean, he is the coolest. He's leading from the front. Definitely. With cool sunglasses on. And, you know, that's just me. Just like, you know, just like this guy and everyone else is rowing. And, you know, it's like this, you know, what's he do? What's I got to get it. It's kind of like this. you know i can't do the full thing but he's okay i feel like i've seen this guy before is why is he going fame like why is he blowing up again right now i don't know he just he just is he just he just is i think the original video came out in january and okay it's just recirculating now yeah i'm starting to catch on i mean uh i see baseball players doing the celly i guess oh really yeah it's becoming a it's becoming a thing it's they look cool too they're like wear some like very some like some great garms and they got this like great head piece and then they do a flip off the boat and then they just like yeah it's great it's great yeah yeah check it out that's uh that's that's uh that's what it's like being a design founder yeah that is you studio everyone always asks they're like oh what's it like what it's like i'm just get everyone rowing in the same direction at the same cadence that cadence that's right i'm That's a challenge.
28I'm sending this clip. I'm going to show up to work with one of those big pointy hats and an all silk one piece. That's pretty sweet. Looking forward to it. Yeah. Halloween costume unlocked. All right. Well, we're off next week. Oh, shit. We're off. Yeah. It's three in a row. I'm going on vacation. Hell yeah. Fuck yeah. Peace.
