Yeah, did Donald Trump suck Bill Clinton off? Is that official, Kevin? Are you confirming this? Allegedly, I don't know. I can't confirm or deny I wasn't there. I don't know who Bubba is, and I don't know if those emails are real or not. Yeah, people are taking a bit of a leap, but that is what they're saying. Well, we're running with this. Yeah, well, it's like that classic alien poster, I want to believe. Exactly. Could you even imagine if that was true? Like, if it was 100 % true, like, in the 2 % chance that it is true, right?
1:12I think the country would explode. Yeah, I don't think it'll ever be confirmed. I don't know. I don't think anybody will ever, like, have. And even if it were to be, I don't think the supporters or constituents would be like. No. They'd be like, yeah, that didn't happen. No, people would deny it. That's fake news. forever but it's like as a people i don't know that we even even if we got uh substantial evidence to prove that it was 1000 true i i don't think we would just yeah we the people would just have to i mean yeah shut it down i mean allegedly bill's a freak so wow yeah he's implicated in a lot or mentioned in a lot of uh a lot of things of this matter so i bet this is not what people thought they were gonna get we were gonna get into this week on the podcast but hey look you Biggest story in the world.
1:55I know. We talk about culture. It's a culture. Yeah. Shout out Bubba. Yeah. Shout out to Bubba. And yeah, listen, I know you're coming through those emails. Just trying to see a lot of emails. A lot of emails. I actually wasn't coming through the emails. I was, I'm kind of like, I'm like water. I'm just, I'm trying to maintain my sanity. And I don't want to, you know, you never know these days what's real, what's fake. Wow. I don't really know. You're really growing up. Really. Yeah. Just right before my eyes. you're really more focused on Kim Kardashian's whether she passed the bar or not. Oh yeah, she got another person to blame this week.
2:27Who did she blame? She blamed her psychics. Oh, oh, oh. Yeah, she was originally blaming ChatGPT and then she's blaming her psychics now for not being able to pass the bar. What did the psychics have anything to do with her legal sort of achievements? Allegedly, they told her that she was going to pass and she didn't pass. She said multiple psychics. That's not how tests work, unfortunately. No, I know. But she's got to find somebody else to blame. It's not her fault. Listen, I will say this about Kim Kardashian. She's incredibly smart. Whether she's smart in the illegal test-making ability, sure.
3:03There's so many people that pass the bar and that are lawyers, that are terrible people, that are dumb people. But what she is incredibly good at is the internet. Absolutely. And I think I saw – I didn't watch it. But I think I saw her release a video of her reacting to her failing, which I think was just a video of her like very emotionally crying, which again is like is such big brain thinking because she knows what the people want, which is to see her fail. So then she's like, oh, I failed. I could be embarrassed, but or no, I'll give you the content that you want, which is to see me failing.
3:39And then somehow then we all feel bad for her because she's a human being that like obviously wants this. she's just so sad you know yeah i don't really feel that bad for her uh to be honest but i will say that i would never be able to pass the bar so yeah the fact that she went to law school and is like trying you know trying to do that yeah shout out salute to her i mean she could just be sitting she could just be sitting around all day you know she doesn't need to she doesn't need to do the pass the bar yeah she has no she has no reason to do this whatsoever only to help people yeah side quests yeah side and a dope side quest i watched the eddie murphy documentary on netflix I need to watch that really solid.
4:16Like, and talking about sitting around, that guy is just sitting around watching ridiculousness in his giant mansion, which fucking rocks. Well, uh, unfortunately I know it's canceled. I know after like a hundred years of, of, of Chanel West coast and Rob Dyrdek laughing at internet videos, it's over. I'm going to need, I'm going to need to see what Rob Dyrdek's new schedule is going to look like. Yes. Famously, we met with Rob Dyrdek and he broke down his schedule into percentages and And it was quite a scene. Well, it's well known that he does this. Oh, it's now? It's public knowledge? It's public knowledge, yeah.
4:47So we can talk about it, yeah. He breaks it down like a very organized person. He's the most organized person I've ever met, at least as far as my recollection. I hope he gets to relax now. Yeah. Or maybe do another venture or something. Well, he's got a ton of ventures. The Deer Deck Machine is vast and productive. Deer Deck Enterprises. Yeah, he was only spending, if I remember, like 3 % of his time filming Ridiculousness. That's crazy. And they were promoting, the show was on 24-7 on MTV. Oh, his checks must be nice. Can you imagine just having that sort of passive income coming? Oh my God.
5:22What a dream. What a legend. Well, I think the thing about them canceling Ridiculousness, that doesn't mean that they're going to stop airing Ridiculousness. Oh, no. That just means that they have enough in the back catalog to play forever and ever. That's probably the discussion they had is like, we've got like a million episodes. We don't need more. Yeah. And that content doesn't get stale. It's evergreen. It's just evergreen internet forever. I mean, a scorpion, somebody scorpioning will always be funny. Yeah. They don't need Rob to do it. They could probably replace Rob with AI at some point.
5:55They've done so many episodes. Don't say that. They can never replace that guy with AI. But yeah. Bite your tongue. I do think that, yeah, Eddie Murphy is a super fascinating character and a legend of the game and a solid documentary. And yeah, the man has made so many movies. He's made so much stuff that he's richer than rich. He's got 10 kids. He's got this insane house. And it's like, what does he need to do? Nothing. So he sits around and watches Ridiculousness. Good for him. I would love to watch this documentary, but unfortunately, I can't even log into Netflix anymore. I've been kicked off my girlfriend's parents' plan.
6:32Wow. Apparently, these big corporations are now checking your IP address to make sure it's consistent. Wow. Wow. I'm having to pay for, I'm paying for HBO Max right now. Yeah, me too. What the fuck? That's the first, like, I haven't paid for HBO maybe ever. Yeah, but they got two shows right now that are good, The Chair Company and I Love LA. So you kind of, they got you there. I know. And I will say the worst part of all these streaming networks is the slow increase in prices that they've been doing. Oh my goodness, it's criminal. Yeah, every couple months. Oh, by the way, it's going up a buck.
7:04Oh, it's going up five bucks. Oh, and it's like - It's bullshit. It's crazy. They got you on the teat and then they just keep raising the prices and we're all fucked. I'd like to organize a mass cancellation. Like I think if we all came together and we're like, hey, let's cancel all these subscriptions for like a month or two. Yeah. They'd really mess them up. Yeah. No, it's hard. It's hard. They'd hate that. Yeah. And then if we all, if we just got a band together and just, you know, go on Instagram, just swipe reels. Don't be watching Netflix or HBO. You got to resist. Yeah. No. At the very least, go to your subscriptions sort of channel or thing on your phone and see which one you're paying for.
7:42I was paying for Paramount+. I just went in there. I was like, that can't be. Paramount+. Paramount+. Has been getting me for a while. I was like, I know I'm watching nothing on that streaming platform. Absolutely not. It always gets me because I'm like, oh, I could watch some football games. And there's not even any of the football games I want to watch. Yeah. Like, it's never, ever the ones I want to watch. It's crazy. Yeah. And I got YouTube TV. and then they stopped showing ESPN. I think they got it sorted out, though. Yeah, they did get it sorted out. I'm like, I can't watch the Nick game.
8:12I'm paying for hundreds of channels and hundreds of streaming networks, and I still can't watch the Knicks. And it's like, what are we fucking doing here, Kevin? But listen, it's just this is the life we live. This is it. These dang corporations, man. But Chair Company is good. Chair Company is far. And I Love LA is really good. I think that is the best show on TV right now. And it's the only show that I'm like, appointments sunday night television it's on a 10 30 though that's maybe i'm old guy here but well you just don't live in la you're right 7 30 pacific no it's not meant for you dude it's not i love new york it's i love that way yeah you're right but um yeah 10 30 is a little too late for me these days i'm i'm in bed much earlier especially on sunday night you know it's sunday night that's a good sleeping night i got a new mattress big news speaking of sleep I got rid of my Casper that I've had for like 15 years.
9:02What'd you get? I got a purple. Oh, I've heard those are fire. Yeah, I got a purple cooling and it's got some cool technology where it's bouncy, but it sinks. Yeah, I always wanted a purple. They had Eric Wareham as the spokesperson. Really? Yeah. Some great ads with him. Wow. Check them out. Wow. I don't know if Tim Heidecker is implicated. I can't remember. It's been a while, but I definitely know Eric Wareham's in those. Excellent. Well, I will be honest. I picked it just on its own merit. I went to a store and I lied down. You went to a store? I went to a fucking store, a mattress store. Okay, boomer.
9:35In 2025. I know. It's an insane thing to do. That's old as hell. And I tried all the mattresses and that was the winner. And so I'm very happy. I slept in it last night and so far so good. Wow. I know. That's so good. This is amazing. That's riveting stuff right there. Thank you. I know. The people want to know what bed am I sleeping in? And it's a purple. Promo code front and center for 25 % off for Black Friday. Wow. Yeah, put it in there and see what happens. REI Soho is closing, Kevin. I think we, did we already talk about this? No, we don't. This is old news. This is old news. But you told me it's going to be an AI office?
10:08Yeah, it's OpenAI is taking it over. Oh, OpenAI. Yeah. Yeah, no, the AI company. Yeah, yeah. I was like, why does AI need an office? It's just a robot. Yeah, they're going to put a bunch of servers in there. Wow. Yeah. Sick. The city's going to shit. Yeah, good use. That pisses me off. I love that store. It's like my beacon. and it's my safe haven in the city. Really? Really? You go in there and you just look at the sleeping bags? I buy stuff there. I like buying water bottles and little outdoor trinkets, stuff to prepare myself for the excursions I'm going on. Yeah. You hate to see it. You're going to have to order that stuff online, Kevin.
10:44You really hate to see it. It was a big store. I'll just say it. I'm not saying it should close. The best store in New York, in my opinion. A great store and institution and a landmark. Excellent location. I mean, they're closing. I wonder how much rent is there. And I wonder how much more that OpenAI is paying. Well, OpenAI is taking over the world. I did see a good OpenAI ad on TV. I was watching some channel of some sort. And yeah, I was like, ooh, good ad. And I was like, is this for OpenAI? And it was. So good for whoever's doing that. OpenAI. I'd rather close AI. Whoa, boom. put in some I'm hitting the X on it yeah no open it you know touching grass out asking a computer about grass you hate to see it but good news on the good news side Beastland is open Beastland Saudi Arabia I know my nephews are just begging to go to Saudi Arabia right now yeah I think if this happened in America I think there'd be no problems with it.
11:52I disagree. I think there'd be more problems. It'd be pandemonium. I think the barrier to entry of taking an international flight, I think that's causing a little buffer zone. If this was in America, if this was readily available to people, it would be a nightmare. It'd be mayhem. But Saudi money. Mr. B is taking Saudi money. It's like a pop-up. I thought I knew that guy. I thought he had morals and values, but apparently he's just in this for the money. That's what I mean. I mean, if somebody came to me and offered me to make a theme park based on me, based on the content I make, yeah, that'd be fire.
12:34I mean, what are you going to do, Satan now? Kevin Land. Yeah. I'd go there. I mean, I am intrigued by it because I did see a video of that sort of drone shot of the scene. It did look quite massive. Yeah. And from what they say, it's a first of its kind Mr. Beast destination where adventure, competition, and entertainment collide across two zones, Beastland and Beast Arena. Oh. I'm finding this a bit vague. I'm just saying. What is this? It's an amusement park? Yeah, but they got challenges and stuff. Because that's what people want, right? Yeah. They want to compete in Mr. Beast-like game activities.
13:11That's exactly what it is. Yeah. Oh, really? They're not spoiling the – I don't think they want to spoil the activities. I don't know if they have a plant yet, to be honest. Yeah. Can I live in a grocery store for 30 days? Like, what's going on there? Like, how can I? I mean, shorter term, probably. Yeah. Can I get my vision fixed? Yeah. I mean, listen, these are the things that I want for Mr. Beast's activities. Honestly, as a 30-year-old man, I'm kind of fired up about this. Oh, you are. If I were to be gifted a trip to Saudi Arabia to go to Beastland, I would 100 % go. Yeah. I hope it's not just like Mr.
13:42Beast-themed roller coasters, but - It's challenges. It's challenges. I mean, listen, here's the thing. There might be some roller coasters. I'm going to say something incredibly bossy. Is Mr. Beast the Walt Disney of this generation? Perhaps. I mean, listen, Mickey Mouse, never heard of him. But, you know, Mr. Beast, that's my fucking religion. If I'm nine years old and all I do is watch YouTube all day. Yeah, I can't wait for the Beast world to open up in North Carolina. Yeah, no, Mickey Mouse is shaking in his boots right now. Yeah, he really is. Because Mr. Beast is coming for his job. Yeah.
14:15and honestly kids kids you know the kids love Mr. Beast I know I mean I'm kind of fired up about it but imagine if I was like 20 years younger if I was 10 I'd be so fired up about it if you were 5 years younger I'd be like god damn mom take me to Saudi Arabia already well all your nephews all the Batori family I feel like these these are prime oh yeah they're beast heads they're totally beast heads I see I've seen 3 Instagram stories of you with them and I'm like those kids watch Mr. Beast oh yeah they're old Mr. Beast yeah of course so they would love to go to this Mr. Beast and Roblox. Yeah, that's what I'm saying.
14:48That's all they like. Listen, and this place makes sense for them. Kids love amusement parks. Yeah, they love challenges. Put it together. Done. Done and done. Hard pivot here. Did you see that Sweetgreen post about protein? I did. I really liked it. Yeah, it's pretty solid. I feel like they have their finger on the pulse. And I will say this another thing. I've always thought this, but Sweetgreen is one of the great brands of our generation. It just is. They get it. they are more than a salad chain they have great salads of course but they they get branding they get marketing and this is very smart i had one of their uh seasonal autumnal bowls wow when i was in atlanta okay very good yeah no their product is it was so fire yeah their product listen it's expensive but all the slop bowls are fucking expensive and at least the product and the quality is good it's got to be my favorite slop bowl around it's by far it is the it's the They invented the slop bowl.
15:43Exactly. And I think this post is great. I mean, protein is everywhere. This feels very snack shot coded. I will say that. Yeah. And I'm just happy to see that they're no longer using Nicolandria from Love Island anymore. They finally grabbed that. They're doing something real. I mean, I like the visual of the cold foam in the sweet green container. Yeah. And it was like 34 grams of cold foam and they showed us out. No, it's smart. I mean, listen, you know where to get your protein? Yeah. Chicken. Not just protein, but nutrition. Yeah. Steak. Yeah. Apparently, there's more to nutrition than protein.
16:17Really? So we're learning. Wow. Wow. That's huge. That's big. That's big news here going on. I've personally been on a mission to eat more fiber. Well, listen, that's you and I both. It's in. That's it. Protein out. Fiber in. No. Protein in. Fiber in. Wow. All the nutrients are in. Well, we've been on the record saying that the people that are anti-protein need to chill out because like we get it like it's too much of a marketing thing where yeah it's maxed out starbucks is promoting foams and i i agree it's very funny but it's like yeah we should we need to get protein yeah but yeah not in the foams i don't know i got a i got a nuanced take on it yeah yeah no you're you're yeah i've i've feel like i've i think i feel like i've blasted my nuanced take all over this podcast that's you know what here's my take i'm gonna eat food and And I'm going to keep sweating.
17:06Holy shit. Because that's what works for me. Wow. Kevin, RIP to the penny. Dude. Gone too soon. Gone too soon. Gone down in its prime. I heard it was costing them four cents to make a penny. Really? Yeah. Wow, wow. Look at that. Is that why we're in debt? Probably, yeah. That's bad math. Yeah, bad business. Bad business, yeah. No, I mean, coins in general. How long do you think coins got? I mean the utility of a quarter probably I would guess that that's not going to go away but I don't know I mean everything is digital now anyway I was going to say like they got rid of the subway fucking pass and BlackRock wants us to go all digital anyways yeah we're going all digital they want to track us they want to control us I don't have a wallet on me it's like I'm fine I left my fucking debit card in Hudson at a restaurant I don't need that shit I'm just fucking Apple Pay everywhere I go Did they dispose of it?
18:00I haven't got in touch with them yet. Oh, you probably should. It's your debit card. That's not a good one you want to lose. No, it's not that I want to lose it. It's just they open up at five, and it's hard. It's hard out here. Kevin, I'm a busy man. But I left it at the restaurant. It's a fucking real classic move there. Yeah, that is a classic move. Yeah, but yeah, who needs it? Doesn't Apple pay. They don't even need cards, let alone cash. Yeah. I don't need cash for anything. I don't know. Cash is good. Coins? Coins? We're talking about coins? Yeah. Yeah. Who needs them? Who needs them? Who needs them?
18:29So, yeah, I think maybe you're right. A quarter will stick around. But like, what's next? Dime? Dime? Nickel probably. It'll probably work up. Yeah, yeah. Probably the nickel. You bring up a good point. Dimes are out. You know, but listen, hold them on. Yeah. If you got one, hold on to it. It'll be a collector's item in 100 million years. Yeah, we live in a society. Yeah. No, you hate to see it. Kevin, it is almost Christmas. And you know what time it is? Chalamet season. Oh, Timmy? Timmy. Timmy's back. Timmy is on a generational run and Christmas is his time. Last year, or what was the film last year?
19:06Dylan, then it was Wonka, then it was Dune. I feel like this man, he's the new Will Smith. Every holiday season, that's when we all go to the movies and we need a Timmy movie. He's Will Smith without Scientology or defending his wife. That's true. Or his weird kids. That's right. No. Or making AI videos with pasta. Yeah, no. No. Timmy, to my knowledge, I mean, I think some of the things in the video we're about to discuss, I think those may have been AI. But he hasn't really delved into AI much in my small understanding of what he does. Timmy's really Leo. That's how I see it. Timmy's the guy.
19:45He's the one. But to promote his new – so the new movie is Marty Supreme. It is a safety bro film in that it's not safety bros. It's one safety bro. Okay. And it's a movie about a ping pong player. And that's all I know. And I know that Timmy's getting great fits off. That's a, that's an important part of all of Timmy's promotional sort of work is he gets great fits off. Definitely. Shaved head, cool glasses, leather pants. Yeah. He looked great. I, he always, yeah, he's, he's, yeah, He's the one. Yeah. I mean, you just know a guy's really popping when he does a buzz cut and it's just like, you know, just straight flames.
20:30Yeah. He can do the long hair thing. He could do the short hair thing. Oh, and he won White Boy of the Year. Did you see that? Anthony Edwards has an award show. Everyone's got an award show these days. Wow. Yeah. And Anthony Ant-Man has an award show. I don't know what other awards he gave out, but over Zoom, he gave out, yeah, Timothy Chalamet won White Boy of the Year. That's awesome. So well-deserving. Wow. And he gave a speech. Yeah. I mean, he's one of the goats. He's on the Rushmore. I mean, he is. I just want to know what other awards is Anthony Edwards giving out. And what is the Anthony Edwards award show?
21:06Oh, I hope he has a podcast. If he does, I might tune in. He's one of the funniest dudes. The first annual Believe That Awards was a month ago. I guess I can look up who won. But I did see that Timothee Chalamet did win White Boy of the Year. Yeah, but Marty Supreme and the promo. Oh, so yeah. So basically the movie's coming out Christmas. It looks great. I was, you know, A24, Safdie, Timothy, Sports. Like, I don't need any promo. I'm in there. Yeah, I'm in. But they released a video, 18 minute long, and it's a Zoom call where they're pitching ideas for promo. And I thought it was very funny. I thought it was, yeah, too long.
21:48But the bits of it. That was supposed to be too long. Yeah, that's the whole point. That's a bit in and of itself. I will say, Kevin, for the first three minutes, I will say you weren't sure whether it was real or not. So that kind of worked a little bit. Well, I mean, once the people started telling their roles, I was like, I don't know. I don't know about that. Sorry, going back to the Believe That Awards. The White Boy of the Year was Sandler, Chalamet, Cruise, Mr. Beast, and Pat McAfee. Wow. Those were the nominees. So pretty impressive. Another thing that he has like only like eight categories.
22:23I like how he had sneaker of the year and all five nominees were himself. Classic. Artists of the year. Kendrick Lamar, Drake, Future, Bossman, D-Lo and Be Different. Never heard of those people. But yeah, go check out the Anthony Edwards sort of award show. What were we talking about? Oh, the video. So, yeah, no, the video is hilarious and it's very tongue in cheek. And I don't know, something about a Zoom call where a bunch of creative people are on there doing their intros at the beginning really got me. I do think they made the blimp, though. Yeah, they did make the blimp. So that was the...
22:58Orange blimp. So the point of the video was that Timmy was coming on in sort of a very egotistical way, pitching ideas to do the Statue of Liberty, Orange, and other various dumb ideas, but kind of great ideas. Yeah. And then they did the blimp one. Yeah, there were a lot of replies in the tweet that were like, OMG, but this is actually like what it is, though. This is actually like a promo meeting, though. It is. That's the fun part of it. It's dumb, but it feels real enough. It hits a little too close to home. Yeah, definitely. They were able to suspend belief a little bit. Yeah. I thought it was funny.
23:35Some kayfabe. And that's where we're at now with promo for movies. You can't do crazy stunts. you have to do stunts about stunts. Very meta. Wow. My favorite part was when he was showing off the Statue of Liberty in orange. And he said like, he's like, this to me is one of my favorite images I've ever seen in my life. And yeah, he really sold it. I thought that was funny. Yeah. What can't he do? I mean, again, he's on a run here. He's the one. Just tear it up. Kevin, before we get out of here, just a couple of food stories. Oh, yeah. I'm hungry. I haven't eaten lunch yet. So this is going to be fun for me.
24:13McRib is back. It's back again. Death taxes. The McRib is back. I'm so sick of this shit. We're so back though. Dude, but the McRib, like I hate that it's just always back. Like I get that like products are seasonal and I get that McDonald's. I just, here's why I don't like that. It just, for those people that listen to the show for many years, we talk about the McRib coming back every year. I feel like every year they try to pretend like it hasn't been back. last year. I feel like they did that once. I think one time they were like, it's gone forever. Remember they did the farewell tour? They did the farewell tour.
24:50And they did the merch. You ate Kobe. They did a farewell tour for the McRib saying it was going away and then it came right back. Yeah. I think they're... Here's my problem with it is that they are taking advantage of the people with short-term memory, like myself, that forget that the McRib went away and came back. You gotta lay off the reels. But here's the thing. It's never going away. It's just a seasonal product that doesn't have a season. I mean, it's usually around this time of the year. Is it? Yeah, towards the fall end of the year. Really? I guess I – see, I don't remember. I have a short-term memory problem.
25:26I don't remember when it went away and when it came back. I mean, that would be kind of funny if it was just a continuous menu item and they just kept being like, it's back. That's what they're doing. What do you mean that would be – that's what they – Well, no, it's not on the menu all the time. well no it's on the menu every year during a certain time and then they only say oh it's a select restaurants and see where this is like fake exclusivity oh yeah it's going away soon and you know it's like what are we doing here at least like pumpkin spice latte it's like it's coming back every year yeah there's a time and place when it comes everyone knows when it is then you get it when it's there you know it's going to be gone and then it's like it comes back and it's exciting yeah but like the mcred the mcrib has never been so back but it's but it but it's been back 2020 i need a chart i know it's been back but it's never it's never been this back alex because it's back right now is it back now it's back right now at select stores in select cities great i mean it just feels like every year we're talking about this the the farewell tour and it's just it's just always back i know but the strategy around the product launches it's so back.

26:36The strategy behind... They must have some marketing data that shows that people don't want it on the menu. They only get it because they think it's going to be gone and they get it when it's exclusive. But if it was there the whole time, they wouldn't get it. Probably. I need a chart. We should make a front center chart that shows when the McRib has gone away, when it's come back. And you'll just see that it's just always back. It's a recession indicator. It's always back. And they should just have a time of the year like Starbucks because it's like, listen, I like hand up. I like a pumpkin spice latte.
27:12I think it's delicious. And I like that it's not there all year round. I like that it's here at a certain time of year. And that time is now. So you want to see a McRib season? That's right. I don't know what season that would be. Maybe it's this season. But I like the fact that there's a season and it's like, oh, McRib season's back. And that's what they need. then they need a little rib a little pig pig that you could drink out of because that's the hottest story in all branding oh yeah is the barista from starbucks i gotta say i was a little late to this i didn't i it had become this thing that everyone was talking about and i didn't see it and so it made me feel kind of uh yeah like i was i don't have my finger on the fucking pulse so it's a bear shaped cup that is $30.
27:55It's$29.95 and it can hold ice lattes, matchas, whatever and it's wearing a little like a beanie. Yeah, a little beanie. Starbucks beanie. And I gotta say, it's fucking cute as hell. And when it fills up with coffee it looks like a bear. I gotta give credit where credit is due. This is brilliant. Why is it brilliant? Everyone loves the honey bear. Yeah, it's cute. It's cute and it's adorable and you could drink out of it and it's memorable and bear arista is close enough you're like why is starbucks promoting a bear bear aristas yeah got it it's cool yeah this feels like an extension of the um popcorn bucket trend of years past where a movie would sort of have a designer bucket it feels this feels adjacent to that yeah and uh premeditated clearly in that they had five of them available at every store so that becomes so hard to get yeah but you see walmart's knocking them off now no so walmart made a bear i think for 25 bucks um but it doesn't have the little starbucks uh skull cap it doesn't have the starbucks beanie but it does have a beanie it has a blue beanie oh whoa i'm seeing one that's green yeah maybe they have green ones too wow that's see walmart can't do that i guess it just doesn't have a logo on it yeah wow they also have a little penguin one and they got a little they got they're expanding they're out starbucks one yeah but that only makes the real one more exclusive to me you don't want the fucking knock offs you don't want to knock off bear yeah we got the barry stad home you got to get the real you got to get the real one yeah i think this is sick i don't know i know thousands of kids are going to be disappointed on Christmas morning when they get the Walmart bear.
29:43Yeah. The one that doesn't have the logo on it. But I don't know. I'm getting the Walmart bear. I mean, not actually, but spiritually, I'd be there for the Walmart bear. I'm not waiting in line for anything. If my dumb ass kid wanted this bearista, I'd be like, all right, you're getting the Walmart bear. My dumb ass kid. Yeah. I mean, I wonder how much they're going for on the secondary market. Is that something that is - I read a lot. Really? Somebody said like a thousand. I think in the article - A thousand dollars for a bear? I don't want to spread fake news. Wow. I'm on eBay right now, and I'm seeing...
30:15Whoa, on fucking StockX. Oh, no. That's a bare brick. That's not the real thing. Yeah,$1 ,000. Is that what it's saying? Is that facts? This is facts. I'm looking at one right now. Bear Rista. Wow. If you buy this for$1 ,000... Okay, I see some that are... There's one that's going for$162. Buy it. You got to buy it. Invest now. No, but those... That's a good deal. one that's going for 80 bucks but i don't know is it real is it real or not ships ship date december 10th all right i gotta get out of here this is this is insane kevin uh doritos have um saved the youth and anyone that loves um chips um that are bad for you now they're good for you because they don't have dyes yeah healthy healthy they're called pepsi sorry pepsi they're called Doritos Simply Naked.
31:04And essentially, it is an all-white bag that has dye-free versions of your favorite snacks. Yeah, I'm kind of confused about who this is for. But yeah, go off. I mean, I think this is a step in the right direction. People talk about Red 40 all the time. Red 40 this, Red 40s nuts in your mouth.
31:29But yeah, I don't know. People say it's bad. I don't eat it. I don't know. You don't eat it? Well, I mean, I do if it's in things that I'm eating, but I usually don't really eat a lot of those things. Yeah. The Venn diagram of things I eat in Red 40, pretty small. Pretty small and pretty rare. I've been on a Doritos tear. Yeah. Are you going to try this? Yeah. I'm curious. I mean, part of what I think is interesting is the packaging and how minimalist and how white and how sort of stripped back it is. It's been a big story. I think part of that is probably because of the sort of like RFK Jr. thing and like the politicized nature of the eyes and make America healthy again and all that bullshit.
32:14But I do. I'm intrigued by the idea that they have sort of stripped back from the color that's iconic. But I assume the taste is still the same. I'm not sure that I. That's what they're claiming. I'm not sure that I'm going to go for... If I'm going for a bag of Flamin' Hot Cheetos, I want those things to be neon red. Yeah. And I'm going to need that red 40. I think it's a little bit more egregious with the Cheetos. Okay. Because you don't need the color. No, I think you need the color with the Cheetos. I think it's more like... Because those Flamin' Hots, I like seeing those. I like to see the Flamin' Hots when they're fucking neon.
32:50Yeah. I'm not really as bothered by the Doritos. Because it's a less like... It's also part of the brand experience, I agree, as a design podcast. Yeah, 100%. When I'm thinking about the experience of eating a Dorito, I'm not like, oh, these things need to be a certain color. I'm really there for the taste. And if they taste the same, then I don't care. But I don't know if I'm going to pick these up. Part of what I like about this are Doritos. Yeah, it's that purple bag and that sort of pageantry of the snacking. I just really wonder, where is this coming from? I'm like, is this like supposed to be like, is this propaganda about how, you know, this dye business is bullshit or like, cause it's really not much.
33:33It's not really much of an improvement. It's very, very marginal. But I guess if you are a parent and you're trying to avoid that for your kids, I don't know. I'm not a food scientist. Yeah, no. Fair. Fair. But I would say this is a very marginal improvement and I guess step in the right direction. I, you know, I guess I don't really know what, what. Red 40 does. And again, I'm not informed enough to know how badly this is affecting my health. But we were talking on the phone today with somebody who said that they worked in food for a long time. They said, you know, dying food naturally is not very hard.
34:08There are a lot of natural colors. Not a lot of natural color sources that are readily available. And yeah, I mean, maybe they're more expensive, but I don't know. You're saying that this feels like more like a marketing stunt gimmick. Yeah, or maybe it's like a – Than actually trying to help people. I don't know. I'm speculating. I don't know anything. Because you could replace – you're saying you could replace the dyes with natural dyes that maybe don't have to be so naked. Yeah, well, surely it is some sort of like health washing of this product in some regards. But maybe the next step is like, hey, we heard that you didn't mess with these.
34:46We're going to use natural dyes. Yeah. I mean, listen. Sure. Sure. Yeah. Good for you. Yeah, good for you, Doritos. And even if there's not another step. Here's the thing, though. Sure. If the flavor tastes any different and has any less punch to it in my Cool Ranch Doritos, get them out of here. That's what I'm saying. Fair enough. Because you know when you get the chips, when you get the Cool Ranch Doritos - We'll have to try these. And the sort of flavor isn't blasting? No, yeah, yeah. I can't live in a life like that. Yeah, I don't want to eat tortilla chips. That's what I'm saying. I actually taste like tortilla chips?
35:17Yeah. No, get that out of here. So I think the taste needs to be as powerful. Yeah. Well, I guess we'll just have to try them. I think we'll have to do a little chip ASMR on the pod. Yeah. You know what I'm not going to do a taste list for here, Kevin? The Baja Blast pie. I want nothing to do with this. Taco Bell using the Baja Blast sort of Mountain Dew color and flavor to launch a pie. And I did actually see a video of some influencer eating this in a car. Yeah. And the way they were holding it, did you see that? They were holding it like they were holding a steering wheel. They held it like 10 and 2.
35:54And then they were just eating it. And the gelatinous color of the Baja Blast pie, it really disgusted me. There are some really gnarly videos about this pie on the internet. Really? I saw one where they were struggling to cut through it with a fork. Yeah, it was giving thick with multiple C's. I mean, it's the holiday season, I guess. go off talk i guess people need to need things to bring to the to the friendsgiving or the potluck but again if you show it you know not again i haven't said this once this year but if you show up with a baja blast pie to my friendsgiving you're not getting in yes slap it out of your hand and say get the fuck out of here go back to where you came from don't come to the things friendsgiving with taco bell yeah but because i'm hungry and because we're recording this podcast at 2 24 p.m i i could fuck i haven't had talk about yeah i will say a hard shell taco this this This pie has no interest.
36:50Well, on the topic of Taco Bell, I didn't make the doc, but I read that they're launching some new menu items that are fan designed. Okay. Yeah. So it's like they're taking fan input and putting them into some sort of menu. We've talked about this before, but I think Taco Bell has done a really good job over the last five, 10 years of just being the innovative fast food company. Because I think McDonald's is rolling out to make a rib. every year and just, you know, and the celebrity meals, whatever, just the same food that they always have. I feel like there's not a lot of innovation in fast food because it just feels like it's incremental sort of gimmicks.
37:28Taco Bell is like, we're just going to throw shit at the wall. We're going to try some shit where our innovation lab is going to come up with the craziest things we can think of and we're going to launch them. Yeah. And I like that about it. Salute to them. This pie looks disgusting. Yeah, the pie looks bad. The flavor of it. Hey, sometimes when you're trying to innovate, you miss. That's true. You miss 100 % of the shots you don't take. You can't hit a home run if you don't swing. They're saying that it has a bit of a taste profile of a key lime pie, which that doesn't sound too bad. Yeah. I mean, I like key lime pie.
37:59Yeah. Key lime pie is great. I like key lime pie. I do not like Baja Blast Pie. But yeah, the consistency of these videos and the thickness of that blue gluttonous. Yeah. The internet really did this one dirty. I mean, probably they're just reacting and being real. And they probably like that. It's kind of a dirty thing. Graza launched the wine. It looks good. Yeah, it looks good. I like the packaging. I like the photo shoot. I like the rollout. Yeah. Shout out to Graza. Yeah. They're popping. And the last story, they Snoop and Dre have a brand called Still Gin, which makes a lot of sense, right?
38:31Yeah. And they got Martha Stewart to do something. Yeah, she's a partner now. They brought her in. Oh, they brought her in. Yeah. Shout out to Martha. Yeah. Martha's everywhere. Yeah, she's everywhere. Again, I love when I watch a documentary and then I'm like, wow, this person's really legend then i immediately forgot about them and move on and you know it's uh do you remember when we met her almost kind of oh yeah we were at that we were in the same room i walked past her yeah no yeah she rocked that happened it was like uh 8 a.m i forgot about macy's and herald square wow i forgot about that in 2019 wow that's uh that that did happen probably you know six years ago today yeah yeah but watch eddie murphy doc because eddie murphy a true legend of the game Well, I have to figure out the Netflix situation.
39:14Oh, yeah. Listeners out there, if you can... No, it's not even a work. You have to live in Kevin's area. Yeah. If anyone lives in... I don't know if I want to... No, no, no. And to be honest, Netflix, I think you can live without it. The Eddie Murphy doc is solid, but I think the content is... I think if anything, we'll start rotating and being just more mindful of canceling things. Yeah, about the subscriptions. You know, good idea in principle, but in action, I guess we'll see. Okay. Well, Kevin, that's the program. And we'll see you guys. For us, hopefully we can get White Boy of the Year next year, or at least a nominee from Anthony Edwards.
39:55We got our work to do, but we'll keep cooking here. And yeah, happy holidays. All righty. Peace. We'll see you next week.
