2:09What's up, everybody? Welcome to a very special IGN Live edition of GameScoop. I'm your host, Damon Hatfield. Thank you. As IGN turns 30 this year, just this week, GameScoop turns 20. I've been... I've been hosting this show for 20 hecking years.
2:32We've got a great show for you this week. We have an IGN Live edition of GameScope, the show where we zoom way into screenshots of all sorts of games to see which of our two teams can guess the games first. They might need your help to figure it out. But first, let's bring out the rest of the Omega Cops. He's been scooping with me for 15 years, since 2011. As cop he goes, it's Sam Claiborne.
2:56Good morning, Goose Camp! It's so good to see all the campers. Damon, look at me. I'm Donkey Kong.
3:10It didn't quite make it. Now, what other member of Goose Camp has been with us since 2011? There's no way to know. It's Justin Davis.
3:21Ooh!
3:26Beach Ball Chaos. Now a couple of young, fresh fellows. He's too old for Metroidvanias. It's Mark. Is Final Fantasy a sequel? Medina!
3:47And last but not least, he's back, baby. It's Nick Limone. Let's go, baby. Real quick, real quick. A selfie, a selfie. Get one with me. Get one with me.
4:02Thank you. Yeah, Nick. All right. Here we are, finally. We did it. We made it. Finally in the real scoop. Here at the end of all things. Everything was training for this. Everything has been leading up to this moment. 20 years of Game Scoops. I have the first episode that you all appeared on. Oh, no. Funnily enough, the first episode, I want to say, was June 6, 2006. I wasn't on that episode. I don't know why. I don't know why I wasn't. But I was on episode two going from there. Sam, Sam's first episode was February 18, 2011. Wow. Back then. I remember it like it was yesterday. Yeah, I'm sure.
4:41February 18 is also my dad's birthday, and my dad is backstage. Shout out to my dad. Actually, my whole family's here. My wife, Kim, and our kids, Kingo and Beatrix, are backstage too. So, love you guys. But February 18th, 2011, Sam was on. Our headline was Walking Dead Island because Dead Island would come out later that year. And, of course, Walking Dead was, you know, one of the biggest shows in the world at that time. Yeah. We were on with, it was a three-person show, me, Sam, and Greg Miller. Wow. Always in our hearts. He's not dead. He's just not here. He's always in our hearts. I think I was there as an expert commentator on one topic, which was Contra.
5:25Well, there was that new Contra game, Hardcore Uprising, which is an anime prequel to the Sega Genesis game. Good game. Contra Hardcore. Good game. Very good game. I think I mainly just listened to Greg and Damon talk. Probably. The show had a different vibe back then, for sure. All right, Justin, your first episode was October 22, 2011. Wow, alright, alright It's Yumi, Greg, and Jack DeVries Sure, yeah, I remember Jack Greg had just reviewed Uncharted 3 Yeah, wow 10 out of 10 We were talking about Uncharted 3, Batman Arkham City Yeah
6:02And it says a Red Dead Redemption clone Although I don't know what that would have been Gun Nobody knows Gun, probably Gun? Not in 2011, I don't think Yeah, you're right There's no way anybody could know Mark Yeah The first episode was August 31st, 2018. Okay. Already eight years. Already eight years. Wow. Eight heckin' years. Eight heckin' years. I'm here, Damon. Yeah.
6:28They love it. They love it. They do. It was you, me, Sam, and Tina. Oh. Always in our hearts. Always in our hearts. Always in our hearts. Also not dead. Yeah. Just not here. Over at Xbox. Yeah. Had a big show today. Everybody like that Xbox showcase?
6:48Persona 4 Revival. I'm all about Persona 4 and Persona 6. Crazy Taxi, Castlevania. And Castlevania, yes. Castlevania looks so good. Our headline was Mega Man scares off Battlefield 5. Which is just cheeky. I'm sure they were on the release date and then Battlefield 5 got a delay. Why would I be there for that? We're like, we need more on this Battlefield 5 episode. I think you covered Battlefield 5 back then. By then we were playing 20 questions. The game was Super Mario Run, and it was a win. Hey! That's a hard one. That game is a win. Is that exclusive to a Nintendo platform? Finally, Nick, your first episode was in May of 2021.
7:322021, our headline was, the games we hope to see at E3. Hey. Oh, no. I wonder what game that would have been. Oh, wait. Was that the last E3? That was the last year when they did a digital event that was hosted by me and Greg Miller. Yep. And, yeah, we were just talking about what we hoped to see. That would have been like Halo Infinite. E3, always in our hearts. E3, always in our hearts. Actually dead. Actually dead. Our 20-question game that time was Dino Crisis, and it was a win. Hey. Thank goodness. There you go. Surely because Nick took it home. Yeah, let's go with that. Probably. We talk about 20 questions.
8:11There is a default 20 questions game. Does everyone know what it is? Blaster Master. That's right. Blaster Master. Because one time a few years ago, someone from Scoop Nation, this wasn't my idea, someone suggested that whatever questions you ask, I should just answer yes until they guess the game and I say yes, and that would be the default 20 questions game, and it's Blaster Master. Yeah. We don't make the rules. That's just how it is. There it is. I want to be on that episode. I'll finally win. Yeah, well, let's go. But today we're not playing 20 questions. Today we're playing game Scope. This is a game where we zoom way into screenshots and slowly zoom out to see who can guess them the fastest.
8:51Usually it's a free-for-all. Everyone's just guessing for themselves. But here we go. I've divided the panel up into teams. So Justin and Sam are team The Jam. Yeah. And Nick and Mark are team The Narc. I got a couple of notes on that one. We are Omega Cops, after all. Oh, wow. Workshop that one. So I've got a bunch of rounds of questions here. And remember, if you guess it on the first Zoom, that's a million points. One million? Oh, my God. Got it. We already had a million-point winner in the audience earlier. And then we'll take turns. We'll Zoom out. We'll take turns bouncing back and forth.
9:26These games could be new games like Crimson Desert. They could be ancient games like Pong. Although that would be pretty difficult. There's a lot of empty space. What's up? It's eliminated two. Or did I? Or did I? So, without further ado, Tayo, working behind the scenes, let's go ahead and bring up round one, and we'll start... Oh, no. With Team Narc. Oh, no. Crimson Desert. Oh, no. We'll start with Team Narc. Wait, is that a graphical glitch, or is that actually... That's it. That's it. All right. That's just a no-sing-dolls. Yeah, yeah. Million points. Million points. That is a very distinct shade of blue.
10:06I think it's Sonic the Hedgehog. Sonic? Sonic. I don't know. It's just Sonic blue to me. All right. Let's go with... What do you think? Sonic the Hedgehog. Sonic the Hedgehog. Not Sonic the Hedgehog. Is there a... Team Jam have a guess? We've settled on 1942. Ooh, not that one. Okay, Tyler, let's start the zoom. Let's start the zoom here. Okay, let's stop there. Okay, Team Narc. I think it's Cave Story. Cave Story? I don't know. I'm just guessing. I still think it's Crimson Desert, but I'll go with your Cave Story guess. Is it Cave Story? Not Cave Story. Team Jam? Cave Story's a pretty good guess.
10:48What is that little red thing? I can zoom out. Mario 2. Not Mario 2. All right, Ty, let's zoom out. Does anyone already know what it is? Let's zoom out and let's stop there. Let's stop there. All right. Team NARC. It's looking more. Why is a rocket growing on a tree is what I want to know. It looks very like Mother 3 coded to me. Mother 3? Yeah. Okay. What's our guess? What do you think? A WarioWare game maybe? Let's go. Somebody keeps saying Mario for NES. So I'm just going to say Mario for NES. I don't think it's that. Mario for NES? Yeah. What game is that? There's more than one Mario game on the game.
11:30Mario Brothers. Super Mario Brothers or Mario Brothers? Super Mario Brothers, the one with... The one that has missiles in it? That's Super Mario Brothers? Yeah. Okay. I didn't guess that one. I just watched it. I didn't guess it. You just confirmed it's a missile. I want to phone a Scoop Nation. Let me hear just one guess. I didn't... Metroid's pretty good. Is it Metroid? It's not Metroid. All right, Tyle, let's zoom out. Let's give him some more. Okay, let's stop. Oh, I know this. Oh, shoot. So do I get to phone a friend now? Yeah, let's phone a friend. This one looks... Hey, mom? Oh, I know what it is.
12:09But, manta ray. Okay. Does anyone know what it is? When I'm traveling, I find that learning a few real phrases in the local language really changes the experience in a good way. That's why the team at Logitech G just changed the game again with the new Pro X2 Super Strike. This isn't just an upgrade, it's a total reimagining of the mouse click. It features the revolutionary HITS technology, that's the haptic inductive trigger system.
13:44They've ditched traditional switches for magnetic sensors that give you an up to 30 millisecond advantage. Think about that. You're literally clicking faster than the speed of human reaction. And the customization is insane. You can tune your actuation points across 10 levels and even adjust the haptic intensity. Whether you want a crisp, sharp snap or a hair trigger rapid fire, the Super Strike adapts to you. Under the hood, you're looking at the Hero 2 sensor pushing a massive 44 ,000 dpi and a blazing 8k polling rate. 17:57Look at that fish. Why didn't you start us with hard mode? That's hard, dude. It was water. I just thought it would be fun. All right, time for a sea shanty. Show me the way to go. This just got remastered on PS4. I know. Jeremy Parrish did it. Oh, wow, that's cool. He added, like, side quests and stuff. It's nuts. I still think that that's Sonic in the background. Not Sonic. I just want to point out, this is a late game, difficult thing to do in Jaws that nobody here has ever seen. I owned this game, but at the end, you stabbed Jaws with your boat. I never got there. Anyone own Jaws on NES? We had a few out there.
18:31I'm sorry. I've just never gotten that far. I'm really sorry. Team, one point for Team NARC. No, no. Hold on. No, I'm sorry. Team Jam. Yeah, for Team NARC. Okay, let's bring up round two. Everyone's loosened up. Oh, wow. Oh, my goodness. Everyone's loosened up. Okay, let's put it on the big board behind us. All right. Underwater level. Let's start with Team NARC. Underwater level, clearly. I think it's Donkey Kong. Donkey Kong Country. Donkey Kong Country, no. We're gonna go with Dead Cells. Not Dead Cells. Let's zoom it out. Let's zoom it out. Let's give him a little bit more. That's not helping at all.
19:10A little bit more of a hint. Let's stop it there. Those look like knees. Those are some pretty toned legs. Oh, those are legs. I think those are legs. Those are looking pretty... I do like Ninja Gaiden. Ninja Gaiden? Yeah. Wait, Ninja Gaiden? No. It'd be... Looks like there's some trouble with Team Narc. Okay. Is it out of this world? We literally have seven minutes, so let's get some guessing. Is it out of this world? Not out of this world. Team Jam? Yeah, we're going to say Super Castlevania IV. Incorrect. Let's zoom out, Tayo. What do we got here? Let's stop. Oh, I got it. It's Marvel versus Capcom.
19:51Marvel versus Capcom. There's Venom. Yeah, Venom. versus Capcom. That's right. We're on the board. We're on the board. Got the full Venom spider. And I helped. It's a tie game, one-to-one. Okay, this next round is Box Art. Box Art. Let's go ahead and pick it up. Box Art. Team Jam can guess first. We get to guess first? Yeah, if you get a million points, that would put you ahead. I think it's, what's the most popular black box game? Oh, I don't know. I was going to say Failing. Mike Tyson's Punch-Out. What is it? Mike Tyson's Punch-Out. Mike Tyson's Punch-Out. I was going to say the original Final Fantasy.
20:29Good answer. Final Fantasy 1. No, not Final Fantasy 1. All right, zoom it out, Tyome. Let's stop.
20:40Rogue Squadron. Not Rogue Squadron. R-Type? I was going to say R-Type, and I heard R-Type over here. R-Type. Not R-Type. Let's zoom it out. This is going to get apparent. Oh, no! No! That's not fair! Which one? Oh, wait. Oh, maybe not. I mean, okay. It's... We don't know... Yeah, we know, but which one? You have to... Which one? I think it's... Star Fox 2! Star Fox 2? No! What? Star Fox 1! Yes! Thank you for listening! Look at that guy! Let's go! Okay. They're on Team Dark! The check is in the mail. We have two minutes. Let's jump into the next round, Tyle. Let's see what happens. Speed round.

No. Zoom it out, Tyle. Zoom it out. What's it going to be? Let's stop there. This is a game with graphics. Piano 3. Nope. X-Men Origins Wolverine. Rock Band? Not Rock Band. Let's zoom it out, Tayo.
