In short
The episode is mostly a chat/banter segment from The Hangout, plus recurring features. Topic: Ant & Dec discuss a “spending ban” and Amazon shopping temptations, then run a listener “swap” game involving a signed Simon Cowell headshot. They also preview next week’s Portugal filming for Holy Moly (mini golf), talk about International Picnic Day and favorite picnic foods, and do a “Deck diary” entry plus a Gemini AI fitness/nutrition segment. Key claims/examples: Ant’s signed Simon Cowell photo is swapped for Molly’s unused doormat reading “a silly goose lives here,” which will be delivered to Simon Cowell’s Malibu doorstep and filmed for socials. They joke about Declan Rice/Andy Murray having McLaren golf clubs and using golf watches.

1:22Ant McPartlin:a.k.a. lover.
1:26Declan Donnelly:We come up with a plan to get our own back on Jamie Oliver. He'll be crying and we'll post it on the internet and we speak to our future selves. Enjoy the show.
1:41Hello everybody. Hello everybody. Oh, he's got my drink.
1:46Ant McPartlin:He's forgotten his drink. He moans that he hasn't got a drink and then when he gets a drink he doesn't bring it in. Oh, shut up. It's got a head like a sip. Shut up! Good morning, good evening, and welcome back to The Hangout for another... And shut up! With me and him. You don't even put your lights on anymore.
2:02Declan Donnelly:No, who cares?
2:03Ant McPartlin:You've really, really, really let standards slip round here. Respect, guys. Welcome back to The Hangout. If you're just listening... How's that? What? That's got a cricket jumper on. Well, I haven't. How's that? It's not a cricket jumper, actually. Well, it is a cricket jumper, isn't it? It looks like a cricket jumper, yeah. If it looks like a cricket jumper and talks like a cricket jumper, it's probably a cricket jumper. But you've not been playing cricket, innit? I haven't. I don't play cricket. You look like you could be. I've never played cricket. Never, ever?
2:33Declan Donnelly:We never played in our school. Did you not? No. Didn't go to a posh school like you. We played it in my school. I went in a box down in comprehensive where we didn't even go to sports. No, we did. We played football. And I think they done rugby for a little bit until people got sick of that. Not many people have done many things in my school. No, did they not? Nah, not really. Did many people go to the school? Not really. Not, no. Not if we could help it. No, no. One of my friends turned up to my school in blue fishing waders, right? What? Because his uniform was being washed. And they said, you're allowed in if you wear a tie.
3:11Declan Donnelly:So he wore a tie. I swear, I'm not joking. This did happen. And he wore a tie and fishing waders? And fishing waders. Yeah. Like, you know, the three-quarter things, yeah. I know, can you believe it? And he was going to wear those for the whole day. Oh, he wore them for the whole day, yeah. No, they didn't send them home. I think he said, I think he was hoping they would send them home, but they didn't. That can't be true. I think on the way to school, he was like, they'll send us home anyway, so I don't care. And they didn't. So he was furious because he had to sit and fish and wait us for the rest of the day.
3:50How's things? All right, not bad.
3:51Ant McPartlin:You look like you could be in Rivals.
3:53Declan Donnelly:Oh, what is your problem? Just because I'm trendy? I like it. What can I say?
3:57Ant McPartlin:Just because I'm cool? It's a cricket, if you're just listening, it's a cricket tank top and he's got a little blue T-shirt underneath. It does look like swimming out of Rivals. That's not bad. From, you know, the TV show?
4:08Declan Donnelly:Yeah, yeah. In the 80s?
4:10Ant McPartlin:I got it. I got it when you said it. Right. Very nice, preppy, preppy. Yeah, thanks. It's good. If you were in Rivals, though, you'd have no trousers on, probably playing tennis. How do you know I've got trousers on? Hold on. Is that better? Oh, my God. How's that?
4:28Two cricket balls and a cricket bat?
4:30Declan Donnelly:I've said too much.
4:34Ant McPartlin:Welcome back to the Hangout to Heckler's Corner. Hello, Heckler's Corner. We've got a new member. There's a man in there. Hello, man. Hello. Talking man. No Lola this week. No Lola this week. Where is she? Where's Lola? She's gone hiking. Hiking? Yeah. You just made up. She went, she's gone hiking? Everest. Oh, God. I think they're playing. Good luck, Jack. Thanks. Good luck sitting with them two. Big shoes to fill. Not literally. No. No, very small shoes to fill. Size four. She's only a size four. Size five in hiking boots. What have you been up to? What have we been up to? Not a lot. Everyone's been ill.
5:15You had a bit of a grotty weekend?
5:16Declan Donnelly:Everyone's been ill in my household. Oh, God. So, yeah, not a lot. The little one's been ill. Poppy was ill. Yeah, there's a lot of illness around. That's so boring, isn't it? Oh, it's just, it's tough, isn't it? It's tough. It's tough. How do you feel for them, the kids, when they're ill? I know. Yourself?
5:32Ant McPartlin:Ill house. Really? Yeah, yeah. Jack's been ill. But I shot off to the toon. Oh, yeah. How was the toon? It was great. It was very nice. Actually, we had pretty good weather up there. Did you? But I went back and met my great niece. Ah. And she was lovely and pretty and beautiful. She's gorgeous. Very cute. She was born just before the final of Britain's Got Talent, so I think she recognised me.
5:55Declan Donnelly:Yeah, I think it was. Does it make you broody? Does it make you feel like you want another child?
5:59Ant McPartlin:I'd have more.
6:00Declan Donnelly:More twins? More twins? I'm not having twins, guys. I keep reading about it. It's AI slop. Would you have more kids? Yeah, definitely. I'd have lots more kids. Oh, yeah. I mean, I'm too tired, but I would have more kids.
6:13Ant McPartlin:Yeah, it's hard work, but... Oh, yeah, it's lovely, though. And it's the best. And they're good ages at the minute, aren't they? They are, yeah.
6:21Declan Donnelly:Really fun. Yeah, I've got really good fun, all at once. And two-year-old who's... He's funny.
6:28Ant McPartlin:He's at that age now, two, that he's really developing a personality. Oh, God, he's just the cheekiest thing.
6:33Declan Donnelly:Like, hides things from you, calls you the wrong name just because he knows he'll get a reaction and he laughs and runs away. What does he call you, Dick?
6:42Ant McPartlin:He calls me mummy, actually. Oh, right.
6:46Declan Donnelly:Excuse me, Anto Deck. Do you remember when last time you saw him, he always gives you the evil eye? Always gives me the side eye. Well, then the day after you left, all you just kept going was, Deck, Deck, Deck. He loves me, really. Yeah. Does he still scream Dave? He doesn't scream Dave anymore. That's a shame. I love that phase. I like that phase as well. It was good, the Dave phase.
7:11Ant McPartlin:Such a cute face. The day of face. All the kids go through it. Right. Let's get on with this then. You brought in your Simon Cowell photo. Yes, I did. For a swap. Yes, I did. We got one each. So you want to swap your one. Yes, I do. I don't want that. Here it is. We have had. That's AI. That is AI.
7:33Declan Donnelly:We have had some swaps in. I've had a thought. I have had a thought. Before I even hear the swaps, I should commit to whatever I swap it for I just send on to Sam Cal
7:45Ant McPartlin:I just send straight to him
7:46Declan Donnelly:yeah so I'm not swapping for me I'm swapping for Simon oh okay he doesn't know about it Simon obviously but I'll pick him something good what a great idea so famous guy swaps things for famous guy can we call it that now no famous guy swaps things for famous guy we've got a jingle we have got a jingle so we just need to amend it but do you want to have a listen anyway yeah play it play the jingle yo you ready for the swap The papers say he's gone and done it now Traded his own private jet for a plow Swapped his mansion for a caravan park Just for a laugh and a bit of a laugh It's a famous guy who swaps things For another famous guy The famous guy who swaps things For another famous guy He's a famous guy who swaps things Come on and do the swap things
8:30Ant McPartlin:Oh my god this is brilliant This is brilliant We should just keep this as a bed all the way through Who was that? That's from Rebecca Clark.
8:40Declan Donnelly:Rebecca Clark. So this is the picture that Simon Cowell signed for us as a thank you for the work we did. Months of hard work. Months of hard work on Britain's Got Talent. It looks like Simon Cowell's impression, like Simon Cowell's doing an impression of George Clooney with the guy from Friday Night Lights. It's very matinee, idle, dreamy shot. Yeah, it is. He did a TikTok of himself laughing whilst he was filling these out for us.
9:09Ant McPartlin:Yeah. And then we got them, we got one each for our present for BGT.
9:14Declan Donnelly:And still nothing from KSI. Just saying. Nothing. Before we get into the swaps. Here's your mind of being boring. With the T's and C's. We're inviting one listener to take part in a swap with Ant. This isn't a competition or a prize draw. If selected, we'll be in touch to arrange a swap. You'll need to be over 18, able to confirm your details if a collection will drop off and ready to complete the swap promptly. By putting yourself forward, you're confirming your item is yours to swap and that you have full permission to do so.
9:36Ant McPartlin:Lovely job. Thank you very much. Well done with the boring bits. Okay. Dear Ants and Dec, in exchange for your signed headshot of Simon Cowell, I'm willing to offer my brand new unused doormat, which reads, a silly goose lives here. That's good! And I think this could be particularly useful for moments when you are tempted to swear. Yes. For context, says Molly, I have a bit of a guilty pleasure crush on Simon Cowell. My friends think I'm crazy because I'm 29 years old. You are crazy. Although the crush began in my teens and Simon is - That's even worse. Well, Simon's age. But what can I say? I think it's the power.

10:11Ant McPartlin:The ability to press a red buzzer and crush dreams or to make them all come true. Or maybe it's just the money. It's the money, isn't it? Molly is getting married in August and would love a signed Simon headshot to keep. It will take pride of place on our memory table amongst our family photos, which I think is exactly what Simon would have wanted. It's a memory table. Yeah. so that's Molly's swap what do you think of the silly goose that lives here I love it and I think it would be perfect for him
10:42Declan Donnelly:because remember I'm swapping this for Simon that's true so this is she'd like that even more if this went all the way in was outside his house in Malibu imagine that imagine that outside his house in Malibu a silly goose lives here yes put it on the short list
10:56Ant McPartlin:next it's on the short list hello lovely team hi I would love to offer a selection of comics from 1979 1979 and 1982. As a 29-year-old woman, I was struggling for ideas of things I could swap, but I excitedly asked around my friends and family, and my dad dug out these for me from when he was a kid. We looked for ones from 1975, but couldn't get that close. They are really cool, and as Bino boys, I think and in doubt will appreciate. Wasn't sure which comics would be best, so we went with Roy of the Rovers, 2000 AD, which cost only 12p of Earth money in 1979, and battle action. Very interesting for some historical analysis.
11:37Ant McPartlin:Will you swap with me, please? All the best from Meg. Thanks, Meg. No, I won't. Oh, I like these. Do you? No way. Oh, Roy of the Rovers. No, no, boring. Oh, you're kidding. I was really hoping you were going to go this. No, thank you. Alison, sunny, sunny Bournemouth says, I'd like to swap my unsigned Simon Cowell mug for your signed photo of Simon. As you can tell, I really love Simon Cowell and would really like this picture. I also have your best interest at heart because I don't want you to miss seeing Simon's face in the same picture so you can have the mug and still see him in the morning when you're having your coffee.
12:12Ant McPartlin:Love and respect, guys, from Alice.
12:15Declan Donnelly:Yeah, I heard you and I'm looking at the picture on the screen and I can see the mug of Simon Cowell in it in a heart shape. What's the other picture of? That's her.
12:22Ant McPartlin:That's Alice in Sonny Sonny Bournemouth.
12:24Declan Donnelly:So she's on one side and Simon's on the other side. Win-win. Has she got a top on? No. he's topless and she's topless yes I'm in
12:36Ant McPartlin:it's one of those ones when you put the hot water in as well the heart disappears and you see everything and you see it all you see everything
12:42Declan Donnelly:I'm in I'd like to see what else is coming I can't make a comment on this right now I feel under pressure stop pressuring me
12:50Ant McPartlin:alright I don't know what to do with that this one is from Ross McRae I live in South Ayrshire in Scotland and I have something to swap for the Simon Cowell sign photo I am a magician and I would like to teach you both some close-up magic over Zoom to impress your kids and your wives. My brother Fraser's birthday is coming up in July and he's a big fan of Simon C. So its arrival would be good timing and he will love the fact I got him a shout out on the podcast regardless. Do you not fancy some magic? Nah.
13:21Declan Donnelly:I know you do. I do. He's offering a Zoom call where he shows us magic tricks. But anyway, Stephen Muller does all this for me. I can do that. He comes around. He doesn't tell us how to do it, though. Yeah, you're right. You're right. No, thank you. No. Slim pickings, isn't it? That's so disappointing. And I don't think Simon would be into that.
13:41Ant McPartlin:I thought I was going to have some magic lessons while reading me Royal Rovers.
13:44Declan Donnelly:None of it's for you.
13:45Ant McPartlin:It should be.
13:46Declan Donnelly:Are you listening? None of it's for you. It's for the main man here. Well, I can have a little look before it goes to him. No, you won't. What, are you going to join the Zoom call? Yes. You're not invited? I am. He said it was for both of us to impress the kids and the wife. But I've changed the rules since you wrote that now. I need to impress my wife. Okay? I want to impress my wife. I find it very difficult to impress her. Just clear away your piles. I'll impress your wife.
14:11Ant McPartlin:This one's from Callum and Freddie. Hi, guys. My name is Callum, and my best friend's name is Freddie. Oh, I like these two. We would love the Simon autograph, because we are probably the biggest Got Talent fans in the world. By fans, I mean we are completely Got Talent obsessed. We watch every single show going, spend time researching the in-depth history of Got Talent and its development, and are both able to memorise various statistics from the show, and we haven't got a clue how we do it. The autograph would be something really special for us to have and maybe take turns with, if we can't agree who's Walsh or God.
14:45Ant McPartlin:Take turns with. Sounds weird, doesn't it? Doesn't it, though? Yeah.
14:52Declan Donnelly:It does. I know what you mean. It just still sounds weird. Anywho, let's get by that. Don't know how old they are, so let's not go there. In exchange for it, we would like to swap you. Uh-huh.
15:05Ant McPartlin:I'm listening. This is good. Thinking of where this is going. Yeah. A Simon Cowell bobblehead. A Simon Cowell doll. All of Simon Cowell's books. You see, our thinking is that seeing as Simon gave you his autograph as your leaving present this year, Maybe you could give him these next year as his leave-in present. That's a great idea. Love the pod. Respect, guys. Callum and Freddie. P.S. At least it's not tap shoes. Very good point. Good point, Callum and Freddie. Very good point. There we are. They're on the screen. There's a cowl doll, the bobblehead, lots of books. Lots of books.
15:41Declan Donnelly:Who knew he was such a prolific author? What do you think? That's a yes. That's a potential. That's a big possibility.
15:48Ant McPartlin:Hi, gang. Hi. Hey. Jack. Hi. The Simon Cowell signed photo is inspired. So much so, I've done my own for the swap. What do you say, Ant? A signed photo of my tap shoes. Oh, for God's sake. Much love, Caroline. Wow, that is good. And that is random. That is good. That is good. And random. Good and random. Right, okay.
16:14Declan Donnelly:Puss? That is a possible. Okay. That is a possible. Because we're not having it. we said we'd never swap with the tap shoes or a picture of the tap shoes or a 3D hologram of the tap shoes but we're not swapping are we? No. Simon's swapping.
16:26Ant McPartlin:Ha ha! Unlucky! So on our shortlist today we have the signed photo of the tap shoes. Yes. We have the Simon Cowell memorabilia the bobblehead the blue. Yes. Yeah. And finally we have the unused doormat which reads a silly goose lives here. Do you think you will swap with one of those three? Yes, I do. Amazing. Find out which one he swaps after this break.
17:02Ant McPartlin:You join us at a very tense moment here in the hanging out studio. Ant is swapping the signed Simon Calfoto for one lucky person here. Will it be Molly's Dormat, which reads, A Silly Goose Lives Here? Will it be Callum and Freddie's Simon Cowell memorabilia? Or will it be Caroline's signed tap shoe photo? Ant, who are you swapping with? Who's our lucky swapper this week? I have made my decision.
17:35Declan Donnelly:And I think I'm going to swap the signed Simon Cowell picture for the Silly Goose Dormat!
17:48congratulations Molly well done Molly
17:50Ant McPartlin:we'll have your doormat that will be winging its way to Malibu for Simon Cowell's doorstep I would love it
17:57Declan Donnelly:we'll film it and hopefully he'll film him getting it and we'll put it all on our socials yeah let's do that yeah great okay good thank you well done Molly you'll be thrilled with that right so no longer it's no longer mine goodbye Simon that is sad that is sad go with my like, mwah. Ooh, he's a good kisser. Mwah. Take that, wrap it up.
18:20Ant McPartlin:Send me to your Simon Cowell, please. We've got a little space on our shelf behind us now where Simon Cowell once stood. Well, where's yours? Oh. I've got mine in here. Let's just put mine up. Let's put that there. There you go. There he is. I might swap that next week.
18:40Declan Donnelly:You been out shopping? No. Still not? I've been at home. I've been at home, not spending a penny. I went on. You know, we played. I had a week. You know, we played golf last week. We did indeed. And everybody has got these. Have you heard of these golf watches? Do you know what a golf watch is? No. So basically, you download the course onto your watch. And whatever course you're playing, when you hit your first shot, it'll tell you you're 200 yards away from the green or you're, you know, there's a bunker there or whatever. You've got one of them, haven't you? Yeah, I do. I did have one. Well, I've still got it, but I can't find a wire.
19:19Declan Donnelly:So when we played last week, everybody had a golf watch on, bar me. And I missed having a golf watch because mine's run out of battery and someone's taken the wire. I don't know where the wire is. So I was like, right, I'm going to buy a new wire from the golf watch. That's a necessity, right? That's permitted, right? It's a necessity. The wire's gone missing. Does that count? What do you mean? Shut up, Jack. Where's Lola? So I went on to Amazon and I'm on there. There's only a new generation version of our watch out. Oh, that's very tempting, isn't it? Is that a necessity? Well, it's like all of, when you look at the greens, the colour, the corders, and you can see the bunkers in real detail.
20:07Declan Donnelly:There's flybys of the halls. I mean, it makes yours look old school and mine. But it was£349. Spenny that. It's very spenny for a golf watch that we don't use too often. So I just bought a replacement wire. Don't applaud me. I hated every second of it. Do you know what? The fact that I outed myself as having this spending ban has actually stopped me spending. but the fact that I've told you guys and all of you lot now know not that you'd know if it was an old version or a new version on my wrist but yeah I tell you now in the hope that I receive a small plastic banana as a reward for not spending I've got me back here is there anything else you've been really tempted by yes the McLaren golf clubs but obviously that's not allowed I just keep seeing them everywhere I know keep seeing the tour players I think so I have them.
21:08Declan Donnelly:I went down to our golf club on the weekend, right? And I played six holes with my daughter, Daisy. And because we haven't really played too often together because she'd been to university. So we played six holes. The weather was so bad, we chucked it off and came home. But there was a club championship going on. Guess who was top of the leaderboard? Because everyone's going, where are you in the leaderboard? Are you on the leaderboard for the club championship? I was like, I didn't know there was a club championship. But there was a set of McLaren golf clubs out the front. Tom Holland. No, not Tom Holland.
21:40Declan Donnelly:Declan Rice. Not Declan Rice. Andy Murray. Andy Murray. Can you believe it? I can believe it. Do you reckon those were his clubs? The McLarens? Definitely. I bet he's got the new golf watch. I bet he's got the new... Yeah, that's why. That's why he's got the leaderboard. He's got the new golf watch. He can see the bunker in detail. Yeah, he can. All those flybys of the halls is really helping him out. He's an incredible golfer, apparently. Yeah. And his dedication to improving his golf game is as good as when he was playing tennis, apparently. Wow. Come on. Come on. I've sidetracked you with the McLaren Golf Club.
22:17Declan Donnelly:But I didn't buy them. And I didn't buy the golf watch. I bought a wire. Thank you, Douglas. Thank you. How many bananas you got there now? Thank you for your pennies. One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight. Eight bananas. Yay. That's it. We're finished. I can spend, spend, spend. Come on, McLaren, gold gloves. Oh, I broke my microphone. He's going to say you're going to have to buy another one. Didn't we decide that we were going to give you a pound Amazon voucher for every banana? Yes, you did. So for my Amazon voucher is£8. Yeah, so how many pounds you'll have to spend at Amazon? I can't do the maths.
22:58A million pounds.
23:02Ant McPartlin:this is being recorded yeah um because we are going we're recorded early not just recorded yeah no guys guys we're being recorded guys oh my god are you on a wire guys i've got news for you we're all being recorded um we're recording this early because next week we are going away to portugal I don't know why I did that accent.
23:31Don't ever do that again. Don't do it when we get to Portugal either. Hello, people from Portugal.
23:38Ant McPartlin:We're going to Portugal to record, holy moly. Can't wait. The world's biggest mini golf tournament. Can't wait. It's going to be really fun. So we're out there next week. But it's going to be fun. Are you excited?
23:49Declan Donnelly:Yeah, I am really excited. It's a good show. It's great. It's a really good show. Can't wait. and I won't be able to wear my golf watch because it's mini golf it wouldn't count that course is not in your watch I'd be charged up by then the wire would have come by then yeah the course is definitely not but there's no time for us to play golf is there do you remember getting to play the course let me tell you the story so what do you mean the story about Holy Moly a story what do you mean the story well just shut up and listen one day once upon a time
24:19Ant McPartlin:we started talking about hosting Holy Moly that there was the format and they say, look, it's going to be really fun. We're going to do it down in Portugal. Oh yeah. It's going to be lovely. It's going to be Portugal in June, playing golf. Portugal. Portugal. It's going to be Portugal in June, playing golf. Brilliant show. You've seen it in the States. It's been a big hit in America. It's been a hit in Australia. Really good fun. We're like, oh, go on then. That sounds really terrible. Let's do it. So we sign up to do the show. About a week later, they come through with the logistics. And they say, oh.
24:50Ant McPartlin:All the boring stuff. All the boring stuff. And then they go, We should probably tell you the course is incredible and it's really colourful and it's really brilliantly lit. So it's much prettier on screen if we shoot it at night. It looks better. Right, okay. Get it? Yeah, right, got it.
25:08Declan Donnelly:That's how the American version was. That's the version that we liked.
25:10Ant McPartlin:Yeah, we're in. So then we get the schedule through. We start recording at 10 o 'clock at night and we wrap at 5 o 'clock in the morning. Jack, I see you're not coming out for that.
25:20Declan Donnelly:No. No. I am. Fiona is. Fiona is. Ha ha. I think it's the best of both worlds. How come? We get to go to bed at five, six hours sleep, get up, sunbathe.
25:30Ant McPartlin:And then go to work at eight o 'clock. Yeah, we snooze by the pool. Snooze by the pool. Yeah. I can't snooze in the sun. I will be very much. No way, lobster boy. Free read. I'll be like a rasher of bacon. Shrivel in the sun. Can't do that.
25:46Declan Donnelly:But apart from the grueling schedule and the all-nighters, it's going to be a lot of fun.
25:52Ant McPartlin:I can't wait. I'm quite excited about the All-Nighters. Shall we hand over to TV's Anton Deck for a real-time update from Portugal? Yes. Should we do that? How are the All-Nighters going, Anton Deck? Okay. They're going well. Do we look tired? We are a little bit tired, but we are having a lot of fun. You guys are going to love it out here. We're having a ball. Oh, no. Oh.
26:20Ant McPartlin:Well, note to self, remember to say something really, that is very hard. What's catering like?
26:26Declan Donnelly:Because I love catering on jobs, don't you? Yeah. What's catering like? TV's on the deck? Catering's been good. Yeah, it's been good. I had a vegetable curry today, which is very unmeathe. It's not very, like, yeah. But I liked it.
26:39Ant McPartlin:You'll be surprised how much you enjoy it. Oh, wicked. That's good. Yeah, sounds good. Oh, tasty. I look forward to that. Do I need a jumper for the evenings? You do, Dec. You do. Even a little light jacket. But yes, I've got you a jumper. It's here. I'll leave it in your dressing room for you. Oh. That hasn't helped. That hasn't helped. I don't know. What's the time there?
27:06Declan Donnelly:The time is 10 to 10. Exactly the same time as back home. What a stupid question. No time difference. Stupid question. Idiot. Same time, isn't it? Same time. That was a real bad use of time travel. Whatever this is. Whatever this is, it was a bad use of it. Why don't we ask about the football scores? Good idea. Did England win their first World Cup game? Well, how do we know that? How do we know that? It's still too early. We're not that far in the future. Yeah, we're not in the future yet. That's tomorrow.
27:39Ant McPartlin:That's confused me even more. That's really confused me. So we're pre-recorded and we're recorded early and they're being recorded early. So nobody's seen the football. I don't get it. I don't understand. Jamie Oliver reached out this week. Did he? Yeah. About time. He's free. Ah, is he? When? September. Come on in. He's free. Come on in. He's free in July, but you're not here. Oh, lucky, Jamie Oliver. Some of us are busy too.
28:10We were on holiday, aren't we? Yeah. We're on holiday. In Portugal, maybe. Oh, that's a shame. But do you think maybe I should just invite him in to an empty studio? Yeah, I think you should.
28:23Declan Donnelly:I think he should come in and just... That'll teach him. Yeah. Yeah, let's just invite him, but we're ten-roll here. Keep the cameras rolling when he comes in. Oh, guys. I'm crying. He'll be crying. and we'll post it on the internet. Get him cancelled. Yeah, cancelled Jamie Oliver. And let's tell him it's fancy dress.
28:47Ant McPartlin:That's going to be hilarious. Stay tuned for that.
28:51Declan Donnelly:Let's hope he doesn't listen to this because our plan will be foiled. Oh, yeah. Didn't think of that. It's International Picnic Day. Ooh, International Picnic Day. I'm surprised you didn't come up with that one. No, I'm surprised. I love a day. How has that one passed you by?
29:09Ant McPartlin:I don't know. Two of my favourite things. A day.
29:12Declan Donnelly:Who does two like that? Who does two like that? Like, do you do two like that, don't you?
29:17Ant McPartlin:No, I do two like that. I've got my thumb for those of you listening. Go on. That's how they do it in Europe. That's how they do it in Portugal. Portugal. If you're just listening, I've got my thumb and my forefinger? Pointy finger? Index. Index finger. Index finger. What's my forefinger? Where's your forefinger? How dare you? Right, it. Fiona, you can guess what Fiona just flipped there. The bird. International picnic day. Two of my favourite things. A day and picnics. Yeah, go on. Oh, not actually picnics. Picnic food, picky bits. Why don't you like picnics? It's on the ground. What's wrong with that?
29:59Ant McPartlin:It's a bit of a faff, isn't it? No. It's fun. No, I like picky bits in the kitchen. God.
30:07Declan Donnelly:In a sweltering summer, sat in your kitchen, it's going on your desk for a picnic. Oh my God, we're just sat in the kitchen all day. Wait until you open the window. Dumb, sort of grass he doesn't like. He's like a bird, like a rash of bacon or something. What's your favourite picky bit? Well, well, well, well, well, well. I love everything. I like scotch eggs. I like sausage rolls. Yeah? Yeah? Not so much a quiche. I know that's very picnic-y, but I don't like eggs. So quiches are... I can have a slice, but I'm not mad at it. You love eggs? I love eggs. I'm not mad at a quiche. You don't like a quiche?
30:50No, no, no. I like little cocktail sausages. Yes.
30:52Declan Donnelly:Very sausage-based, my picnic loves. But I like to go olives. I like hummus. I like slightly more Mediterranean style as well. Yourself?
31:03Ant McPartlin:It's all about the Scotch eggs. Yeah. Cocktail sausages. Yeah. Pork pie? Pork pie. I didn't think of a pork pie. Yes.
31:11Declan Donnelly:A little pork pie. A little pork pie. Do you like pork pie with an egg in the middle? Oh, yeah. Yeah, I knew you would, you dirty devil.
31:17Ant McPartlin:Yeah, it's all about cocktail sausages, sausage rolls and Scotch eggs. That's the holy trinity, isn't it, of the picnic? It is. Nothing sweet.
31:24Declan Donnelly:Nothing sweet. I do like I do like a lemon drizzle cake Is that a picnic based? Yeah It's like a summer cake right? Any kind of cake Strawberries Strawberries and cream Yes Fiona At last she's contributed Something good
31:42Ant McPartlin:To this podcast I knew if we stuck with her For long enough Exactly Well done Give yourself a little trumpet In celebration It's good It's good She's good She's good Good at that as well Ready for a little bit of diary action? You're on the screen again. Do we have a deck diary jingle? We do. This is from Adam Birtwistle in Suffolk.
32:04Declan Donnelly:Hold on. Before you play it, you look like the deck on the screen in the checky shirt.
32:11Ant McPartlin:Oh, yeah. It is quite similar, isn't it? It's very similar.
32:14Declan Donnelly:Why don't you recreate that pause as we play the jingle? Let me get a pen. Get on the desk, please. Get on the desk. Get a pen. And write your diary. All right. Let's have a look. there we go there we go do I not take my shoes off no no that's fine yeah how dirty are your socks let me have a look let's see if they watch off oh they're clean now that's a shame that's a shame they're not dirty like the ones on the picture pin the jingle it's Dexterity I'm so glad he wrote it down I hope that I'm around for the next Dexterity
32:55Respect, guys. That was lovely. Pop them trainers back on, bad boy. Get out of it.
33:02Ant McPartlin:That was lovely, that.
33:04Declan Donnelly:Someone's done a full body workout this morning. In those shoes.
33:07Ant McPartlin:So last week, you'll remember. In fact, we didn't do it last week. We ran out of time, didn't we? Or we forgot. So we didn't do it last week, but the week before was chart day, chart day. Yes, it was. We went at number 27. So this was a Monday. This was Monday the 18th of April 1994 Day 22 of life on the road The laziest day we've had I think Really? We've had some pretty lazy days Hung about the house in Kent all day Got bored Oh who writes that? Me Dirty mouth
33:38Declan Donnelly:Potty mouth Bored So no one uses that? No Do they? You've never used it since? I never I never heard you say it then? No We're just trying to be angry. I think I was trying to be cool. Later on, we travelled to Poole, which is next to Bournemouth. Did you put that in there? Yeah, yeah. Which is next to Bournemouth. Yeah, you did as well. Which is next to Bournemouth, future me.
34:01Ant McPartlin:The bloke at the venue, which is what it was called in Poole, where we were playing, didn't realise what type of reaction we were going to get. Oh, I see. And put us on the little stage and gave us two security. Silly guy. he underestimated the power of PJ Duncan. Well. What? He learned.
34:26Ant McPartlin:He learned. He was a converted, a.k.a. lover.
34:31Declan Donnelly:Oh, God. Oh, my God. Oh, crazy to be told to kill him. You know what they say? Don't believe the hype. You'll believe in the hype, please.
34:43Ant McPartlin:promising us the big stage and all the crash barriers next time how wrong can people be oh my toes are physically curling right now oh my god we stopped off for a bite to eat and straight to bed after a bit of farting around with the camera I don't know why I was farting around with the camera that sounds weird got into bed after two o 'clock too late Too late. That is too late.
35:12Declan Donnelly:That is late.
35:13Ant McPartlin:At that age, I really should be invested in my beauty sleep.
35:16Declan Donnelly:No, give over. That's what that age is all about. Staying up late and having fun.
35:22Ant McPartlin:Yeah. I don't know if I had fun. I was just farting about with the camera. Maybe I had fun.
35:27Declan Donnelly:Yeah, hold on. Was I there or was just you and the camera?
35:30Ant McPartlin:I don't know.
35:31Declan Donnelly:Now it seems sordid. Now it seems sordid. Thank God it's not a video diary, aren't we?
35:38Ant McPartlin:Yeah, that could be weird. But that is it. That's it. That's it for the 18th of April. And we only have two entries left.
35:47Declan Donnelly:This next bit is brought to you by Gemini, Google's AI app. So, question for you. Go on. Did you do a full body workout today?
35:55Ant McPartlin:No, I did not.
35:56Declan Donnelly:Oh, why?
35:56Ant McPartlin:Did one yesterday, though. Did you? Bashed out a full body yesterday. Don't say that. It's rest day of the day. Then tomorrow I've got posterior chain. What on earth is that? It's your back. Hamstrings, calves, glutes. you've got to don't don't don't forget the glutes no don't forget the glutes
36:13Declan Donnelly:welcome back do you want me to do a workout plan with Google Gemini that's a great idea should I do one yes please see what it says yeah okay Gemini can you build an exercise plan for a full body workout he's a 50 year old man unnecessary who leads a very busy life so keep the workouts short but impactful impactful always include A good warm-up. What does Gemini say? Gemini says, here's a time-efficient, high-impact, full-body workout plan. Time-efficient is good. Designed specifically for busy bees. That's you. So, the schedule, two to three times a week. Yeah? Yeah. Monday, Wednesday, Friday.
36:57Declan Donnelly:Yeah. Duration, 35 to 45 minutes in total, including warm-up. That's good. That is good. Do you warm-up? I do, always. What kind of warm-up do you do? I do stretches. Because Gemini says, arm circles and shoulder rolls, bodyweight squats, and the world's greatest stretch. You know what that is? Yes. Go on, show me. On the floor. Yeah. Yes, it is. Then look, hold on. It gives you exercise. Yeah, yeah, yeah. It gives you exercises. So it's 25 to 30 minutes, this. Lower body push, dumbbell, goblet squats. Fancy that? Yeah, he knows what he's doing. Next, the upper body pull, dumbbell bent over rolls.
37:35Declan Donnelly:Yeah. That's it. Well done. Next, the low body pull, dumbbell Romanian deadlifts. Is that there? Yeah, that's good. And then you cool down. Well, I need it. There's all sorts of function on here where you can film yourself doing a workout and it'll tell you about your form.
37:54Ant McPartlin:So you thought you were doing it the right way? Do you want to try it? Come on, then. Yeah, let's do it.
37:58Declan Donnelly:Come on, hop on the table, then. So, Gem and I, can you be brutally honest about the form of these push-ups, please? Thank you. Let's take an honest look at what's going on here. Oh, yeah, let's. As you asked, here is my brutally honest opinion on the form of those push-ups. I noticed that you kept your body in a nice straight line from your head to your heels, which is an excellent foundation. You also positioned your hands well and lowered your chest nicely, showing good control. Overall, it was a solid display of form. Really? That's handy, though, isn't it? Like, if you're working out at home...
38:35Declan Donnelly:Yeah. Just on your own. Just on your own. You've got no idea whether you're doing it right, you're doing it wrong. Using that.
38:41Ant McPartlin:Very helpful. That's very helpful. That's really good. But also, you need the right nutrition. Yes, you do. That's an important bit. Gemini, what about food before a workout? Because I love eggs. Should I be eating lots of eggs before I work out or after I work out? No, never. And also give me some other high protein snack ideas too, please. Yes, please do, Gemini. Gemini says eggs are fantastic for fitness, but timing is everything. Because they contain both proteins and fats, they digest slowly. So after your workout is the best time to eat your eggs. Before you work out, avoid eating lots of eggs.
39:19Ant McPartlin:Before workout... Because you're... Maybe, yeah. Yeah. Scare your PT off. Before a workout... Yes. You could have some Greek yogurt with a drizzle of honey. No, nice. Yeah, yeah, yeah. That's nice. Yeah, I'm up for that. Gemini says, rice cakes with a thin layer of peanut butter and banana slices. Oh, now you're talking. That sounds good. Anything with banana slices. Anything. That's a great energy boost. Other than the next. Without it feeling heavy. Then great food for after workout, hard boiled eggs and a handful of almonds. Thank you very much, Gemini. Well done, Gemini.
39:52Declan Donnelly:With Gemini, you can chat live with a truly helpful AI assistant. You can jump in, get some fitness tips, ask for more details, or even show what you're talking about by sharing your screen or your camera as well. It's there for a real chat, not just a quick question and done.
40:07Ant McPartlin:Absolutely. Download the Gemini app today to unlock the power of Google AI on your phone.
40:13Declan Donnelly:Check responses. Set it required. Compatibility and availability varies. 18 plus. Watching a very good TV show at the minute. Tell me. Widows Bay. Ah, so I've seen this. Apple TV. Yes. Matthew Rhys. Yes. he's Welsh yes but not in the show I was going to say he's American in the show very good American accent is he so I'll give you a brief synopsis of the plot please do he is the mayor of this small island just off Boston in America got it right and he wants more tourists and he really wants more tourists he's a bit desperate right and
40:50Ant McPartlin:hang on before you go any further how would you categorise this is it a thriller is it a is it a well it's a horror
40:56Declan Donnelly:ooh it's a spooky Rocky horror. It's a dark comedy. Right, got it. And each episode is slightly different to the one before in the fact that a different director directed it. Like one director directed three, but they're like flip-flop. And so the style is slightly different. And one might look a little bit like the horror movie The Ring. And the next one might look like Carrie, you know, the Stephen King novel that was turned into the horror film. So he's the mayor of this island. He's trying to get tourists in. On the first night, there's an earthquake. What they think is an earthquake. But all the locals are saying, that's not an earthquake.
41:38Declan Donnelly:That's the island waking up. And evil is about to rise. And he's like, ah, shut up. We just need more tourists. Because there's a guy coming from the New York Times to review one of the restaurants. Is that his accent? Because that's not great. That was me. Oh, okay. Good, good, good, good. Ah, shut up. We just need more tourists. That's pretty good, right? we need to steal some from Portugal so it's him trying to dismiss these theories of evil and bad spirits he doesn't believe it he doesn't believe it but stuff happens and now I'm up to date now so I've caught up and now they come out weekly which is so annoying old fashioned the old fashioned way of doing telly old fashioned telly telly we're involved in but it's really good it's really good you like him he's really good The female lead, I don't know her name, is one of the funniest actors I've seen in a TV show for a long time.
42:32Declan Donnelly:Really? Her performance is brilliant. Really brilliant. Who's this lady?
42:36Ant McPartlin:She's very funny.
42:38Declan Donnelly:Who is she? So it is a dark comedy because there's very funny bits in it. But there is jump out. I watch it with my wife who does not like horror stuff. No. And she insists that we go back to it. Even though she's scared, she's like, let's watch another one. but she puts my hands over her eyes and she's like when the music gets what's wrong with her hands
42:58Ant McPartlin:over her eyes I don't know I've got that she always gets my hands are yours slightly bigger
43:01Declan Donnelly:but she's using her yeah my hands are bigger to get your hands to cover her face yeah that works why didn't she just do that yeah you're right my hands could be doing other things yeah use your own hands
43:13Ant McPartlin:I've got one question for you though does it contain zombies no cool I'm in can't do zombies why scared it makes me anxious So you never watched The Last of Us? Nah. Really? Nah, can't do it. That's such a good TV show. Can't do it. Can't do zombies. Why? Makes me too anxious. Oh my God. They're going to come and eat me brain. They wouldn't be there very long.
43:37Declan Donnelly:Done. Anyway, I can't really rate it, but so far, so far, it's bubbling up with the seven banana rating. Really? Yeah, it's that good. Wow. It's that good. How many more you got left? I'm not sure how many's in the series. Maybe 10, so probably a couple more. Okay. that's a strong showing yeah or a partial series what do you call that actress have we found out yet Kato Flynn she's very funny very funny I can guarantee she'll win awards next year really yeah
44:06Ant McPartlin:well done Kato
44:07Declan Donnelly:I mean I can't guarantee if you're a kid if you're watching this in no way can I guarantee you're going to win awards
44:13Ant McPartlin:if you don't win awards then Ant will send you all of his awards you've got 20 odd NTAs coming your way if you don't win any awards
44:22Declan Donnelly:Okay, that's quite clear, isn't it?
44:24Ant McPartlin:Will you send a one NTA?
44:25Declan Donnelly:If she doesn't win any awards in the next calendar yet, when the award season starts, I'll send her an NTA. Yeah, absolutely. This is an advert for TV licensing.
44:37Ant McPartlin:What are you watching on telly at the minute? The World Cup, OBS. It's so good. It's so good. A summer, I know we've said this loads, a summer with a football tournament in it is just brilliant. It is great. Because people who aren't even ordinarily fans of football will get out and watch the games and you kind of get swept along by the optimism and the fun of the tournament. I just love it. It's such a feel-good vibe.
45:04Declan Donnelly:And because it's on in the Americas, it's on a bit later, which is a shame. But that's not bad because you don't miss the games. Yeah, I don't mind that too much. It's not like you're at work and you're missing the games. You just hear a bit bleary-eyed in the morning. Well, that's all right. we can put up with a month's worth of tired mornings. There's a few of those 2 a.m. ones that I'm not staying up for. A couple of the Scotland games, you're like, oh, ouch. That's a bit late. That's a bit late. But yeah, I'll watch on. There's so many good catch-ups. Yes. Isn't there? Yeah, all the highlights show.
45:34Yeah, they're great.
45:35Declan Donnelly:It's so good. Why do you think watching England for us is such a communal thing to do?
45:42Ant McPartlin:I think it's just... Tribal? Yeah, it's tribal. It's, you know, it's every couple of years that there's a big tournament. You want to get behind the country. Yeah. But I'm like that with all the home nations whenever they play. I am. And the Republic of Ireland. Yeah, I am. Yeah, I love it. I love it.
45:58Declan Donnelly:Wales played, when Scotland are in this time. Yeah, the Republic of Ireland I follow, Northern Ireland, all of them. I always mark that on me little wall chart. Do you still do a wall chart? Of course you do a wall chart. Everybody does a World Cup wall chart, right? Got to, you got to get into it. I love it so much. So yeah, I'm watching that. What are you watching? Other than that.
46:16Ant McPartlin:Well, there's that. and of course summer your other great passion summer viewing for me always means we have to watch a little bit of Love Island he loves Love Island it is really good Lola do you remember when you pranked us and you said you were going on Love Island yeah I do yeah I do too and now there is somebody in Love Island called Lola oh yeah there is is it the same person it might be we'll let you decide that I've never seen her face yeah I've never seen her face I don't know what she looks like could be could be her but it's good though as well I love that whole reality daily show where you get to catch up and they do great cliffhangers on Love Island as well.
46:53Ant McPartlin:They do. It's very good cliffhangers. I do love it. Every year, I'm not going to watch it this year. I'm just going to watch the opener and see what they're like. And then he sucked in again. And then I'm sucked in. He sucked in. It's just, it's too much. I'm a sucker for a reality show, which is good because I host a couple of them as well. It's quite handy. A TV license covers you to watch over 400 TV channels, including the ones we've talked about today. To find out more, go to tvl.co.uk slash pod. Well, I didn't think I would, but I've had a lovely time. You turned up here today thinking it was going to be torture.
47:32I did. Torture.
47:33Ant McPartlin:No, I didn't. I didn't. I was actually looking forward to it today. Actually, what, you don't normally? I do normally. Yeah, I was actually looking forward to it. Good. Yeah, I've had fun. Really good. And that's all we've got time for. Come on. for this week. We'll be back on Monday with a bonus ep. We will be in Portugal. But we'll be here with a pre-recorded ep on Monday. We will. And then we'll be back with you next Thursday for more fun and games from The Hangout. Cheers. That's it. That's your life. Thanks for watching. Thanks for listening, for watching. Respect, guys. Respect, guys. See you later.
48:07Ant McPartlin:Come on. Let's get out of here.
