2:08We're on the ball. We're on the ball.
2:13Ant McPartlin:We're on the ball. We're on the ball. We're on the ball. We're on the ball.
2:17Declan Donnelly:We're on the ball. We're on the ball. We're on the ball. We're on the ball! Everyone's on that ball!
2:25Ant McPartlin:Hello everybody, welcome back to The Hangout. We've got welcome fever at last! We sure do. We are recording this the morning after the night before, the morning after Mexico-England. What a game, what a result, what a night. Let's get into it. How did you experience the match, Ant?
2:45Declan Donnelly:Well, this is like the new how did you celebrate your new year question, isn't it? Because everyone asks each other this all week. What did you do for the Mexico match? Well, what I did was I went to bed early. Ah, very good, very good. Got to sleep. Yes, yes, yes. Set me along for one o 'clock because that was the time the game was meant to be.
3:01Ant McPartlin:So you weren't going to do any build-up, you were just going to... I was going to go straight for kick-off.
3:05Declan Donnelly:I thought, because otherwise I'm going to be very tired if it goes to extra time penalties. The weather had other plans. The weather had other plans. So as soon as I saw it was an hour delay, I got back into bed for an hour. That's good. Set me on for two o 'clock. So I got back up at two o 'clock.
3:19Ant McPartlin:Did you get back to sleep?
3:20Declan Donnelly:Yes. Oh, you're good. I was very tired. You're very good. Yes. I kind of done that and then I just saw them talking about there was a delay. So, you know when you try and keep the sleep in your eyes a bit? Yeah. You know when you have a wee in the middle of the night and you try and keep the sleep in your eyes? I did that. I kept the sleep in my eyes. So then I slithered back into bed.
3:38Ant McPartlin:Slithered, good word. For an hour. Good use of slithered.
3:40Declan Donnelly:And then I watched it live all the way through. And then at the end of the game, got back into bed. Were you able to slither into bed and go back to sleep? I hopped in the bed, much to my wife's annoyance. To be fair, she was like, oh, I'm not going to watch it. And then I was going, oh, my God, oh, my God, get in there, son. Because I was just outside the bedroom.
4:00Ant McPartlin:That's the noises I normally hear from that bedroom.
4:03Declan Donnelly:Get in there, son. So, yes, she was like, you either need to shut the door or I need to get up and watch it. Or shut your face. Yeah. So one of you, one of us can't be tired tomorrow, really.
4:14Ant McPartlin:So did you watch it on the big telly?
4:16Declan Donnelly:I was on the big telly, yeah. In the bedroom? Not in the bedroom, just outside the bedroom. Okay, right, right, right. Exciting. It's good. And my youngest daughter, Poppy, came in, so she didn't get the text at one o 'clock, thankfully, because of the delay. So she came in at the two o 'clock text saying, I'm back watching it again. And we watched it together. We ate chocolate. In the middle of the night? Yes, we did. Are you mad? Actually, it was past the middle of the night. It was 3.15. What do you consider to be the middle of the night? Well, the middle of the night. Yeah, well, I suppose that is the middle of the night, yeah.
4:50Declan Donnelly:But I mean, we weren't ready for breakfast. No, it's the middle of the night. We thought like crisps was too savoury. Yeah. So we just wanted a bit of something to celebrate. You don't eat anything. It's the middle of the night. Because we're excited. We're in the way. We're like, oh, we need a nibble on something. Do you know what I mean? You need to... So I had a giant Toblerone, a fruit and nut Toblerone, which we polished off. And I accidentally sat in... Chocolate. A triangle of Toblerone. Oh, no. And then got up from the cream sofa and it looked like I'd pooed myself.
5:22Ant McPartlin:Oh dear. And it's just stuck.
5:24Declan Donnelly:And I just had to leave it and come to work today without explaining myself. So good luck to whoever finds that. My wish. Yourself, how did you watch Mexico, England?
5:34Ant McPartlin:I was away in a hotel with the current Mrs. Donnelly.
5:39Declan Donnelly:Someone's doing well.
5:42Ant McPartlin:Thank you. Thank you. I was away because I had an early start this morning. I was away doing a thing for a friend. You were. Doing a graduation party for Wilkes Academy in Swindon. Yeah. So I did that this morning, which was lovely. But I was in a hotel last night. Yeah. So we went out for a very early dinner, got home, watched Brazil versus Norway. Yeah. Which I thought was a really good game and did not see Norway winning that. No, I did not. I did not see Bruno Gowarisch missing the penalty. No, because I think we all thought that if we beat Mexico, that we beat Brazil in the next round. That's no longer the case.
6:15Ant McPartlin:We're playing Norway now. But so I fell asleep after the Brazil-Norway game, which was about 10 o 'clock. And you set your alarm for one o 'clock? I did not. You didn't? I thought, I'm just going to wake up. I'll just wake up.
6:29Declan Donnelly:I did wake up. I'll just wake up. When do you ever just wake up? My brain will tell me that the kickoff is imminent, so I'll just wake up.
6:36Ant McPartlin:I thought I'll just wake up in a bit and I'll put it on. The current Mrs. D said, don't you dare put the TV on. Watch it on your phone with the volume down. do not wake me under any circumstances someone's done with a thumb and you took my way
6:47Declan Donnelly:to a hotel and she'd be like this unbelievable
6:51Ant McPartlin:so I did just wake up
6:52Declan Donnelly:what would she do if you'd sat on chocolate on the sofa you'd be out on your ear
6:56Ant McPartlin:doesn't bear thinking about so I did just wake up however I did just wake up at half past three so you had half an hour left I had half an hour was it slightly less well yeah I had about half an hour left so I got my phone quickly and I thought, oh God, I thought I've missed it. I've missed the match. So I looked at the score and it said, Mexico two, England three, a game shaping up to be an all-time classic. And I put my phone down and I went, shaping up? It's still on. So I put it on on my phone, turned the volume down, under the sheets I went. And I watched it. And so -
7:35Declan Donnelly:Did you make any noise?
7:36Ant McPartlin:No, I didn't make any noise. How did you celebrate the full-time whistle? Well, let me tell you, I didn't make any noise because by the time I tuned in, all of the goals had been scored. And basically, I just got the stressy bit of the final 25 minutes. Of balls coming into the box. Yes. And Dan Bird. Dan Bird. Big Dan Bird. Heroically heading them away. Yes. So I missed all the good bits, all of the goals, and I just saw the stressy stuff.
8:01Declan Donnelly:But when the full-time whistle was blown, after 11 minutes of extra time, how did you celebrate that?
8:06Ant McPartlin:I had a little jiggle in the bed to myself. Oh, wow. I had a little, a kind of little fist bump and a little, get in there. Get in there, son. Get in there. So then I had to try and go back to sleep after that. So I put my phone away. Difficult, wasn't it? Very difficult. Very hard to sleep. And also, the hotel we were staying in was right next door to a farm. Right. So just as I was dropping off about half past four, a cow started, we think, giving birth. Because there was a lot of mooing going on and it was quite an urgent moo. It was like a cow, like a bull vine alarm clock. It started going, moo, moo, moo, moo, moo, moo.
8:46Ant McPartlin:Might have been a cow having sex. Get in there, son. Yeah, might have been. Might have been. It was a bit like the wood pigeon that has now disappeared from my chimney. Oh, right, okay. It's a bit like that. Is that a word?
8:57Declan Donnelly:The pigeons floored around had a word.
8:58Ant McPartlin:He's staying near you. Get in there, son. Moo, moo, moo. So I eventually got back to sleep. but very excited about the next round versus Norway can't wait taking place this Saturday
9:10Declan Donnelly:oh good night though and then we've got Norway on Saturday Norway no way yeah we do and we can talk about that on next week's pod because we're all in World Cup Fever now right yes yeah you've all got it you've all got a dose it's coming home

17:47Ant McPartlin:Can you hold your lovely body? Why has he gone all like this?
17:51Declan Donnelly:Gone weird. I can hold them.
17:52Ant McPartlin:This is from Caroline. Hi, Ant and Decken gang. Hi. I've come up with something a bit different because, well, let's just say my autistic talent is the same level as ants. So it had to be something that didn't involve drawing. But could this be what Anna's been searching for all along? To be honest, I got the idea from an episode of Columbo. What? The detective series. You know him and he's raincoat and he's cigar. Just one more thing. It is musical notes which represents some key things from the podcast and it's also a nod to your time in the music biz. So Ant, is it brilli or is it silly? That's from Caroline.
18:29Ant McPartlin:Well, what do the notes stand for? The notes stand for it's an A, D, B, G, D, D, E, and G. And they stand for Ant, Deck, Bananas, Golf, Deck's Diary, Eggs and Greggs although I think I think you could change Dex Diary for just Declan Donnelly so I'm Dex Bananas Golf Declan Donnelly Eggs and Greggs things that I love that is fun you can have it
18:57Declan Donnelly:just under your peck yeah that'd be good that or like to the side there yes yeah on your ribs that's a good one like your rib cage that'd be good there
19:04Ant McPartlin:and so you wouldn't have the AD you wouldn't have any of that you'd just have the musical notes and then when people say
19:08Declan Donnelly:what does that mean
19:09Ant McPartlin:you go
19:09Declan Donnelly:I'm Dex Bananas Golf Dex Diary, Eggs and Greggs. Great conversation starter. Yeah, it would be. Do we like it? Put it on the torso. Put it on the shortlist.
19:21Ant McPartlin:Well done, Caroline. It is not silly. It is brilly. Amelia writes, hello, Ant and Dex. Hello, Amelia. Not you guys. My name is Amelia and I'm 10 years old. I live in Newcastle. The tattoo is meant to be you and Ant playing golf as bananas. I would rate this show 9 out of 8 bananas I hope you have an amazing day so excited to watch this episode respect guys from Amelia I mean
19:47Declan Donnelly:any description of something that starts with my tattoo is meant to be kind of means that it's not going to represent I mean I can tell they're playing golf a tattoo artist
19:58Ant McPartlin:could tidy it up a bit
20:00Declan Donnelly:yes they could they could you couldn't just lift that from the page and put it on your body no no no because I wouldn't want that
20:05Ant McPartlin:no but it's very good Amelia but I think it could do with being tidied up a little bit
20:10Declan Donnelly:because they don't look like golf clubs that they're hitting they look like legs they look like the bananas have ripped legs off a human and they are fighting with humans legs which is a great conversation starter it is it's actually not a bad tattoo
20:25Ant McPartlin:I like this a lot killer bananas attack of the killer bananas is it too much like bananas in pyjamas that have just got naked and gone out on a naked golf course and gone out on a golf course in midnight yeah And they've only got one arm each. No, no, they've got two arms. They're just very thin. Oh, yeah, they are very thin. I thought it was one thick arm.
20:43Declan Donnelly:They're very thin arms. Because she's 10, I'm going to put it on the body. Great.
20:47Ant McPartlin:Where are we going to put it? Wherever you want to.
20:51Declan Donnelly:Put it wherever you want.
20:52Ant McPartlin:I am going to put it... On me thigh. On your thigh. Bananas. Naked bananas in pyjamas. Thanks, Amelia. Bananas in pyjamas have taken off their pyjamas and they've gone playing golf in the middle of the night. Janine writes, Hi Ant Deck and team. Hey. Hey Janine. I've attached a tattoo design for Ant. It depicts a magpie with a golf club eating a banana.
21:14Declan Donnelly:It's like a weird fever dream.
21:16Ant McPartlin:It's like, what is this? If he likes it, I could make the golf club a new McLaren club.
21:21Declan Donnelly:Ah, it's crucial to listen. Love you guys.
21:24Ant McPartlin:Love you guys. Love watching the pod from Newcastle. Respect guys, Janine. There's a lot going on there.
21:29Declan Donnelly:Janine, there's too much going on for me. I'm afraid I'm going to have to say no to some of them. starter but it's a very short conversation end there as well isn't it yeah thanks janine there's
21:39Ant McPartlin:a lot going on though it's a lot of thought when it's that this is from will hi i'm deck and team here's an idea for a tattoo for ant which not only incorporates his love of the quiet please sign from the famous guy stops things but also for getting deck to quiet down when he talks over and love the pod keep up the good work if you're just listening it is a quiet please sign down the inside of your pointy finger. So when you put it up to your lips, there's a little quiet sign on the finger. That is exceptionally good. Yeah, I love it.
22:13Declan Donnelly:Exceptionally good. Do you like it? Yes. Can you not tell by me he said exceptionally good?
22:19Ant McPartlin:One place for this. On the hand. On the hand.
22:22Declan Donnelly:Oh, you've got quite a good collection now, haven't you?
22:24Ant McPartlin:We have. We have. And we have our final, final design. Oh, God. For you to consider. Hi, Ant. finally a good idea. Why not pick... What? Yeah, this is from Holly from Sheffield. She says, finally, a good idea. Why not pick the first ever episode of Hanging Out and turn it into an audio waveform circle? It has the symmetrical look you are so passionate about. It's black and white and fits with your other tattoos. The circle is everlasting. To create it, audio is analysed and and the waveform is wrapped around a circle. Every peak and quiet section is represented, so it's unique to that exact episode, the first episode of Hanging Out with Ant and Dec.
23:08Declan Donnelly:I'm a gog. Are you? My mouth is open. I'm really surprised. But which one is it? I don't know.
23:16Ant McPartlin:There's six. I think it's all of them. I think all of them are the first ep, but just in different forms. Forms. My mouth was open throughout the whole of that reading. I was a gog Holly he was a gog Holly you made me a gog right that is it that is all your designs somewhere
23:37Declan Donnelly:I'll be honest I was I was hoping for more of a difficult choice if I'm honest because there's someone there that which I'll you know easily discount because I've been coming into work doing the podcast I've looked at that torso and I've like I would not like to see that on my body for the rest of my life and that do you remember this is going to stay on there I'm not going to get it removed it's going to be on there for forever so I've got to think very hard think very cleverly about which one it's going to be and I don't want to joke to run thin no you know like some of them are funny which I like and they've raised a smile but will that will that will that weaken over the
24:18Ant McPartlin:it's like wearing a over the years like wearing a t-shirt with a funny slogan on it yeah it's like when you first go to a party everybody goes that great t-shirt and by the end there's the guy in that Here's that knob in the T-shirt again.
24:29Declan Donnelly:Because that's what they say about you, Lola. I'm sorry.
24:35Ant McPartlin:So, over to you. Okay. There we are. That's the, you've got the torso.
24:41Declan Donnelly:This is very difficult because it's between four, which is probably more than you think. Now, I don't want to give away where I picked it, from which part of the body.
24:49Ant McPartlin:So, let me lie on the ground. Well, I've put them all in the middle now, so you don't, you don't. It's a bit unnecessary this
24:57Declan Donnelly:That's the envelope
25:00Ant McPartlin:It's a bit over the top
25:03Declan Donnelly:Here you go
25:04Ant McPartlin:So the winning design Is in this envelope We will open it When we're back here After holidays Beginning of September Which is when We will do the tat Which will be tea day
25:18Declan Donnelly:And the reason why We've got to wait So long Is because we've got to License this studio as a tattoo parlor. That's the truth. Because otherwise it wouldn't be legal. And we like to be illegal. Above and above the law. Everything above board. Above the board. We like everything to be above board around here. It does mean afterwards anyone else who wants a tattoo can just pop by.
25:37Ant McPartlin:That's a good idea. Yeah. Anyone else want a tattoo? So if you're out there and you want a tattoo, feel free to pop by. No, don't come by. Please don't. This next segment is sponsored by Santander, who understand that heading to university is a big moment and it's often the small practical things that can make the biggest difference. Time for another Agony Antander. And this one is a student edition. Dear Agony Antander, I'm going into my second year of uni in September. This summer has been brilliant. New friends, good times, no complaints. Except my friend group has just announced they're all going to Ibiza in August.
26:18Ant McPartlin:Group chat, flights found, everyone in. I want to go so badly. I'd be good to miss it. But I also said at the start of the summer, I was going to use these months to get ahead on my dissertation, save for my second year at uni, and not just blow everything on a holiday. I know if I go, I'll have an amazing time and absolutely zero regrets on the beach. I also know I'll come back in September, haven't done none of the work I promised myself I'd do, have next to nothing in my bank account, and I'll spend the first month of second year in complete panic. Both versions of me feel completely right in the moment How do I choose from Ellie?
26:56Ant McPartlin:That's a little angel and a little devil on the shoulder That is, isn't it? Isn't it? Go with the most fun option, surely
27:02Declan Donnelly:And I'm always one for, you know Be a little bit more pragmatic about it But let's face it You know, they're going to Ibiza, man This is your whole friendship group You've said it there Everyone, the hotels are booked The flights are booked Go!
27:18Ant McPartlin:However, is this going to give her anxiety for the first part of her second year?
27:24Declan Donnelly:Well, only you can answer that, Ellie, I'm afraid. Only you can answer whether it's going to give you anxiety or not. And getting ahead of the game is, if you need... If you're struggling. If you're struggling, then you might need to do that. Ibiza sounds fun, though, right?
27:40Ant McPartlin:Is there a middle ground here? I don't see how, Derek. Well, is there... Could you go for part of the trip? Maybe.
27:47Declan Donnelly:Could you go for part of the time in Ibiza? Well, if you're going to go for the part of it, you want to go for the first part.
27:52Ant McPartlin:Yes.
27:52Declan Donnelly:Go for the first part. And then once it starts to get a bit messy, everyone getting a bit tired, then just why don't you just fly back after a week? If you go for two weeks, do a week and come home.
28:00Ant McPartlin:Yeah. Or if it's a week, do four days. Whatever it is, you just don't want to feel anxious in September, October. No, no. But if you know that, if you know that it's a price worth paying, then you could go, look, I know I'm going to have to really knuckle down in September, October. and get ahead of things. So I'm going to really enjoy the moment, but I'm going to have to knuckle down then.
28:22Declan Donnelly:And also find out what DJs are on because if they're really good, then it's worth staying out. Go to Ibiza.
28:29Ant McPartlin:Come on, hit me again. Right, last one for today. This is from Janet. Dear Agni Antander, my son started his apprenticeship last September and moved away from home for the first time. No. He's doing brilliantly. Good. His employer loves him. He's grown in confidence every week, and I generally couldn't be prouder. But with all this good, it is tinged with a real sense of loss. My nest is now empty. I know that's the whole point of growing up. You move out and start the next stage, but the house feels different without a minute. Even just the small things like not hearing him come in late or having to remind him to put his shoes away.
29:08Ant McPartlin:He calls when he can, and I try not to text him too much. He's also only a train ride away. I know that, but some weeks it feels further. My husband says I just need to give him space and trust that we've raised him well, which I know is right. I just don't know how much space is the right amount of space. I don't want to smother him, but I also don't want him to think I've stopped caring. How do you find the balance from Janet? Janet, my heart breaks for you. It's tough, Janet. First of all, can I just say, he will never, ever, ever think you've stopped caring. He will always know that you care and you're there.
29:43Ant McPartlin:So you can put that one to bed straight away.
29:45Declan Donnelly:Yeah, it's difficult, isn't it? Because...
29:47Ant McPartlin:Do you know what I think? I think you've got to put yourself in his shoes a bit and remember how you were at his age when you couldn't wait to get away from home and start your life and what an exciting time of your life it was and how many ambitions you had and what you were going to do when you had that freedom. And now that's where he is. He's at one of the most exciting times of his life. And he knows you're there. He knows you care. but he is off on the next chapter of his life and all you have to do is be supportive and be there for him and make sure he knows that you're there.
30:23Declan Donnelly:And the biggest bit of advice is don't take it personally. Just love and care for him. It sounds like you're doing so it will get better.
30:32Ant McPartlin:And you know what? Don't worry about texting him too much. You can never text him too much. Just the text to tell him that you're there and you're around and just how things are at home. He will read it. he probably won't reply but but you've sent it but you've sent it and he will read it and it's there and he knows that you're there exactly so trust your instincts I think you're doing it all right and he's just a train ride away he is he's not on the other side of the world and actually Janet on that note tell him to look into the Santander Edge student current account because
31:02Declan Donnelly:it comes with a free four year 18 to 25 rail card worth £115
31:08Ant McPartlin:that's a third off train fares across Britain and if he's just a train ride away that's one less excuse for him to come home, isn't it? See, Janet.
31:15Declan Donnelly:And there's more to it than just a real call. There's an interest-free arranged overdraft for the tough moments, free cash withdrawals abroad and everyday savings through boosts at places like Trainline and Just Eat.
31:27Ant McPartlin:So it's a proper little toolkit for someone finding their feet, which sounds exactly like what he needs.
31:33Declan Donnelly:And that's what Santander understands. Heading off to university or starting an apprenticeship is one of those big moments in life. and it's often the small practical things that make the biggest difference.
31:44Ant McPartlin:Just visit Santander.co.uk or search Santander Edge Student Current Account. Santander, it starts here. Now over to the heckler's corner for the T's and the C's. Heckler's!
31:56Declan Donnelly:T's and C's. Must be 18 plus living in the UK permanently and studying for an undergraduate course or a level 4-7 apprenticeship. You'll need to provide proof of study when you apply for the account. paying at least£500 every four months. Credit is subject to status. T's and C's applies.
32:13Ant McPartlin:Did you go to uni, Fiona?
32:15Declan Donnelly:Yes.
32:16Ant McPartlin:What a waste of money.
32:19Declan Donnelly:I was asked about my spending ban on Saturday night at a party. The barbecue we went to. It was a birthday party. And this woman bound over to me. I'm a big fan of the podcast. Thank you very much. How's the spending ban going? I went, how many bananas you got now? It was a bit of a whirlwind of questions. And I just got there. Um, so I told her some news, which now it's out there.
32:44Ant McPartlin:Hang on, I've got my bananas out here. Am I putting these back away again?
32:48Declan Donnelly:I might have to come clean to you all. Uh-oh. The spending ban is over! Yay! I have spent money! Was it worth it? Was it worth it? Well, this is the question. So I said this to her. I was like, well, I said, I did buy something today. I said, it is the summer. I did say till the summer. So I think I can get away with it. And she said, but is it necessary? She's good. Which proved like she was a really good listener. I said, well, they are necessary. They are necessary. They, yeah. He's gone big here. What have you gone for? I'll show you. I'll show you just to say if it's worth it. So I spent my hard-earned money on these yellow trainers.
33:36Declan Donnelly:what do we think banana inspired obviously very summery you wouldn't really rock them in the winter months but in the summer yeah I'm all for that not necessary
33:49Ant McPartlin:really not necessary unnecessary
33:53Declan Donnelly:see I'm not the fact that you're disappointed means I'm very pointed in me
34:01Ant McPartlin:when this all started and when we were Continuing with it, I didn't think they would be the thing to break the spending ban.
34:09Declan Donnelly:Well, they're banana themed. So, you know, I was given bananas while I didn't spend, but now I've spent.
34:15Ant McPartlin:Banana shoes.
34:16Declan Donnelly:Banana shoes. Yeah. Worth it, right? Yeah. They're cool. They're cool. You will. You will wear them. I'm not wearing them today. I'm keeping them from your holders. Which we will go on the holiday next week. Yeah, we are. So it is, you know.
34:30Ant McPartlin:You're all invited, by the way.
34:31Declan Donnelly:More on that later. The time is nigh. It was about time I spent something because I said till the summer and we go on holiday the end of this week even.
34:40Ant McPartlin:Yeah.
34:40Declan Donnelly:So I can pack them in my case carefully
34:42Ant McPartlin:because I'm an expert packer. Will you put them in a shoe bag? Because they're new. Yes. I do that too. Yes. So you do have how many? 10 bananas?
34:51Declan Donnelly:Let's see what I've got.
34:52Ant McPartlin:Does he get to keep these?
34:53Declan Donnelly:Of course I get to keep it. This is the sacrifices I made over the last one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, 10 weeks. That's 10 weeks of not buying myself anything. That is pretty good. And if you've got 10 bananas, it does open the Heckler's Corner Shop. Are you open today? We are. Well, now I'm in the spending mood, guys. Get me some stuff. All right. We've got a hedgehog, one from a church fair.
35:27Ant McPartlin:It's a very short-biz hedgehog.
35:28Declan Donnelly:It's a very short-biz hedgehog. It's very sparkly. It's knitted, got a little knitted face. That's very cute. How many bananas is this worth? Seven. Seven? For this bit of crap. We've got a radio, portable radio. I'm not sure if it works. Might need new batteries. That's good. That is pretty good. Ah, it's a world radio. So I could take this out of my holders.
35:51Ant McPartlin:I could have done with that under the covers last night. Yeah, you could have. I know she would have heard that. Oh, she would have heard it. She would have heard that. Visuals are better.
35:56Declan Donnelly:A holiday fridge magnet. It's pretty ugly from Grand Canaria. Someone gave me that. I don't want it.
36:01Ant McPartlin:Now, yeah, I think this is weird. People buying you fridge magnets. Fridge magnets are all about you go and get a fridge magnet for places to commemorate places you've been. It doesn't work if people buy you places that they've been.
36:12Declan Donnelly:Yeah. Agreed? Yeah. Have you been to Gratner? Is that based on your foot? Because there's something wrong with your big toe and I haven't checked out.
36:19Ant McPartlin:I think you've got circulation problems judging by that.
36:22Declan Donnelly:It's like Dex Plums.
36:24Ant McPartlin:What?
36:26Declan Donnelly:Your feet. Your feet.
36:27Ant McPartlin:Oh, God.
36:29Declan Donnelly:Sorry. And his testicles. Sorry, we all had a late night last night. So it's a no. It's a no. We've got this framed picture of an Afghan hound with sunglasses on. That is cute. Guys, you can't just come on and get rid of all your crap. Is there anything to eat? I'm starving. The last meal I had was totally around 3am. We did have a banana, but Lola ate it. Did you? Yeah, we ate it, sorry. This white cat.
36:56Ant McPartlin:That looks very James Bond. Spin around and go, ah, I've been expecting you. Watch.
37:02Declan Donnelly:Ah, I've been expecting you.
37:05Ant McPartlin:I would buy that just so you could do that at home when people come in.
37:11Declan Donnelly:We've got you a little bit of poolside reading for while you're away on holiday. The Tale of Jemima Puddledo.
37:18Ant McPartlin:Oh, that's yours, isn't it?
37:20Declan Donnelly:That's definitely yours. And also this disposable camera full of photos actually of you that we haven't got developed yet. Oh, see, if it was empty, I would have went for this. Then I could have... How many is left in it?
37:31Ant McPartlin:Do you have a few to take? And then you can develop them.
37:35Declan Donnelly:Don't know if there is. Let me see. Hold on. Nah, I'll let you do all the hard work on that. Anything else? One more. One more. A golf ball from Holy Moly. This is from our show, Holy Moly. You guys have stole it for you. Yeah, I've got one. They gave me one for hosting the show. In fact, I had two. Now you've got three. Or have I? Depends if I buy it or not. So I suppose I have to... Do I have to spend my bananas this way? You don't have to. No, because we're going to be... We're closing. I was closing down still. The summer. Everything must go. Anything there you need for your trip? There's nothing there I need for the trip other than the world radio.
38:15Declan Donnelly:As I say, it doesn't work. But if I put new batteries in it, would it work? Solder scene. Solder scene. Yeah, it's a bit of a risk. I might buy I might buy this what? the short biz hedgehog yay and you can have all of the bananas because I'm sure I won't be able to buy anything with three because you said it was seven bananas right? seven bananas throw in the camera for the extra three no no no you can do with the camera that means that means you'll have to get developed because it's your job it's got a very Alan Porridge there because it's your job okay well I'm going to put the hedgehog right here.
38:56Declan Donnelly:Do you remind me? You can do it, Ant. You can go 10 weeks without spending, Ant. Oh yeah, Taylor Swift got married. Did she?
39:04Ant McPartlin:Did she? Well, no, no, this is the thing. So I know, like the news was all saying Taylor Swift got married. I haven't seen any pictures or anything. Have I just not, have I missed it? Has it passed me by? Or is there not much been out there?
39:14Declan Donnelly:I reckon, because it was at Madison Square Gardens, I reckon there's a big magazine deal. And what they do is like, they put all of the kind of hoarding up door on this. so you can get behind it in an address so none of the public gets to see. Oh. That's what it'll be. And Madison Square Gardens is obviously enclosed, so you can't fly over the top of it and shoot down. Funny place to have a wedding, isn't it, Madison Square Gardens? Yeah, it's not. It's not the holiest of sights, is it? Madison Square Gardens. It's not, though. Do you know how few people have been saying they're not actually married?
39:45Declan Donnelly:What? That's going around, that people are saying. Is that a thing? It wasn't actually a wedding. Is that an actual thing? Well, I'm not saying it, Dec. Don't have a go at me, guys. Some people are. Because there's no evidence. Because there's no evidence. But then what did happen? Well, I don't know. Don't ask me. I'm not the guy saying it. Do you mind, Matt?
40:04Ant McPartlin:Well, something happened in there. Of course there's going to be no evidence if there's a big magazine deal. That's my point. I think that's what it is. No, I'm sure they did get married.
40:10Declan Donnelly:I think it's more likely that there's a big magazine deal and we'll find out next week in Hello Magazine.
40:16Ant McPartlin:Stay tuned for that. I'm very excited for that.
40:18Declan Donnelly:It's going to be a documentary. Oh, is that what it is?
40:21Ant McPartlin:Yeah, magazine deals, a bit kind of 2005. Oh, right. Like, she doesn't need, she's got more money than God. She doesn't need any more money from a magazine deal. It's something else.
40:32Declan Donnelly:When they do that, those magazine deals, they say it's not about the money. It's about doing it properly. I don't know. I've never done one. No, I wouldn't do one. We both got offered magazine deals for our weddings. Yeah, we did get offered, but we turned them down flat. Can't tell you which magazine. Can't tell you which magazine, but we said no. Horse and hound. Viz Magazine. The Pino.
41:01Ant McPartlin:Yeah, Dennis the Menace, he wanted to come.
41:06Declan Donnelly:A lot of people really enjoyed you not being able to tell the difference. Well, our misunderstanding of no the.
41:14Ant McPartlin:Yes.
41:15Declan Donnelly:And we've come up with a little game. Would you like to play?
41:18Ant McPartlin:A no the game?
41:19Declan Donnelly:It's called Oh No, It's the No The Game.
41:20Ant McPartlin:Oh No, It's the No The Game. Oh, no, it's the no-the game. Yes, we would like the play-the game.
41:26Declan Donnelly:Okay, I'm going to name some things, and you have to tell me if there's a the or no the.
41:29Ant McPartlin:No the. Okay. No the.
41:31Declan Donnelly:No the. Ready? Yes. Yes, yes, yes. Ant versus deck. Oh, sorry. Deck versus ant. Thank you. For copyright reasons. Okay, Beatles. The or no the? The. Correct. Traitors. The or no the? The. The. Correct. Arctic Monkeys. Oh, that's a tricky one. No, the. Yes, the. No, the. Da Vinci Code. The. Correct. Eagles.
42:13Ant McPartlin:Ooh. Hotel California. This is good.
42:20Declan Donnelly:No, the. This is, well, just try and get a point back. I'm going to do the opposite and say yes, though. No, the. Ah, balls. Pixies. The. No, the. No, the. Yes, I knew that one. Right, I've got a point back. X factor. No, the. The. The. Is there? Yes. That X factor. Last of us. No, I never called it that.
42:45Ant McPartlin:Oh, this is a good one. The. No, the.
42:50Declan Donnelly:The.
42:51Ant McPartlin:Really?
42:53Declan Donnelly:Lord of the Flies. Ooh.
42:56Ant McPartlin:No the.
42:57Declan Donnelly:No the. No the. Yeah. And the last one, Terminator.
43:02Ant McPartlin:Yes the. No the.
43:04Declan Donnelly:Yes the. Where does that put the scores? I had a good run there. Yeah, you did have a good run. What's the scores? Eight, six, two, deck. Yeah! Good game, though. The real winner here is the listener. Let's face it. It's not deck. That is a good play-long game.
43:24Ant McPartlin:I'm glad I chose today to wear a woolly jumper.
43:27Declan Donnelly:Yeah, I know. It's very on-brand, though. Very on-theme for the England game, but...
43:32Ant McPartlin:Very hot. But very woolly. It's a bad choice. Oh.
43:37Declan Donnelly:Ah, there's a package just being left at the door. It's like when Amazon just leave it at your gate.
43:41Ant McPartlin:They've just left it, took a picture of it, and they're gone.
43:43Declan Donnelly:Took a picture, and they've left. Yeah, thanks, you couldn't help, you know. You know what this is, don't you? This is a box of trainers. A box of customised trainers. Is it time for? They're back. It's time for Famous Car Swap Stings. Famous Car Swap Stings. Yeah. Famous Car Swap Stings. Now, I can't put them on the table. They're okay in the box because they haven't been worn. But they have been... Customised. Customised.
44:11Ant McPartlin:Now, you might remember quite a few weeks ago now, I brought in my Russell Kicks style Adidas torsion bar, lovely trainers that I've never worn, and decided to swap them. Then realised they were£400. Tried drastically and unsuccessfully to claw them back. Have not been able to do that. Sent them off to get personalised by a brilliant artist, and then we're going to swap them now that they've been customised.
44:38Declan Donnelly:We've got them back, and the artist has sent the letter saying, Dear Tony Mack, Double Decker and Heckless Corner. Hey! Just wanted to put a quick note together to show my appreciation for the opportunity to put these shoes together. My Saturday mornings growing up were always started with an early morning get-up to make sure I didn't miss a minute of SMTV life. I even used to stick notes on my wall by my bed to remind us to wake up instead of falling back to sleep.
45:05Ant McPartlin:That's what I should have done
45:06Declan Donnelly:for the football. Yeah, I should have done. Clocks and alarms weren't my strong point at this age. And as everyone else my age, I've grown up watching Ant and Dec on some of the most entertaining shows ever to appear on Saturday Night TV. Oh, what? I'm a celebrity, Britain's Got Talent, Saturday Night Takeaway, etc. I sent my email on a whim with very little expectation of ever getting a reply. So having the opportunity to work in front of national treasures, not our words, the words of Dan Lee. It's been an absolute rollercoaster of joy and gratitude. Nice, isn't it? That's really nice. Now he's got some Dan Lee it is.
45:41Declan Donnelly:Oh, darling, yeah. And there's some design notes. Shall I read these? Yes. On the shoes, I've included two portraits from episodes that I absolutely love. The banana record attempt is the episode that got me hooked. I've also included the legendary eight banana rating system and I've modestly rated my own work. Above the bananas, you will see two separate phrases that have absolutely cracked each one of you up. And I hope that looking at these shoes keeps those giggles alive. Oh. On the inside angle of the shoes, I've included the iconic wonky donkey. and of course the crown and cloak of Challenge Hunt.
46:14Last but not least, the Belterbox logo on the tongue.
46:19Declan Donnelly:Love, appreciation and respect, guys. Dan.
46:23Ant McPartlin:Oh, Dan, you're a star. Okay, should we get them out? Can we see them? Wow.
46:31Declan Donnelly:There we go. There's one. Oh, my gosh. And here's the other one. with a whole little side by side you want that one actually because that's the left foot and this is the right foot so there you go you've got the bananas across the strap the tall strap you've got me my record breaking banana attempt you laughing at the record breaking banana attempt
46:53Ant McPartlin:oh no that's an Easter one I've got my Easter ears on oh yeah good
46:57Declan Donnelly:good good good we've got the hanging out logo on there oh look what look what's on the ankle straps sexy and nice and Nova Nova sexy and nice where's Wonky Donkey
47:07Ant McPartlin:There's Wonky Donkey.
47:08Declan Donnelly:There's Wonky Donkey. On the inside. And there's the challenge and crown and cape. These are great. These are great, Dan. Oh, my God, Dan. These are so collectible now. We've just got to give them away.
47:16Ant McPartlin:I know. What were we thinking? Well, we promised we would, and that we shall.
47:20Declan Donnelly:Okay, but you hold on. Don't put them on the table. That's bad luck.
47:23Ant McPartlin:Okay.
47:23Declan Donnelly:And I'll get out some potential swaps for these. Right. Of course, you don't have to swap them. Yes. Even though Dan's customised them, you can always say no. You've still got that in your locker.
47:35Ant McPartlin:But I have to swap them at some point. It will only roll over. I can't take them back.
47:39Declan Donnelly:Yeah, no, you can't take them back. No, I'm committed to giving them away. Yeah, but you don't have to do it today, is what I'm saying. So we can just roll over. Okay. If you recall, if you don't recall, I'll explain. We did have previous swaps for these. It was the wooden map from Sarah. There it is. Yes. The deck of cards that have an ant on them.
47:59Ant McPartlin:Yes.
48:00Declan Donnelly:From Lily, which I think you loved them, didn't you, if I remember rightly? You really liked the ant cards. and it's a deck and a deck remember deck of ants the distinguished pig and bikini pig from amber sexy pig I love that pig or the 3D printed tap shoes in crystal from Hannah which they would set this desk off a tree
48:23Ant McPartlin:I can see them just about here yeah
48:27Declan Donnelly:behind us I mean I don't think they're made yet I think that's a muckle and only if we swap will they get made so have we got any new swaps in Declan, we've got a bundle. I'm going to get straight into them. Swap one. First, it says, Hi, Ant and Declan team. I have an offer of a swap for Dex Adidas shoes. Lo and behold, here is the wonderful golden flamingo. I offer this as a swap as I believe this has what it takes and would look outstanding sitting on their shelves. Dearest regards, Jamie R. from Scotland. Signs it off, Will. Yes. Dearest regards. Dearest regards. I've never heard that before.
49:06Declan Donnelly:Dearest regards. Dearest regards. Dearest regards. Jamie R. from Scotland.
49:11Ant McPartlin:So Jamie says it's the gold flamingo. Like it's the gold flamingo. What is, I mean.
49:18Declan Donnelly:Have you seen another? No, of course I haven't. I haven't.
49:21Ant McPartlin:So this is the only one. It's the one and only. It's the gold flamingo. Yeah. Okay. I'm a little underwhelmed. Okay.
49:29Declan Donnelly:That's a shame. With the golden flamingo. Just going back to Jamie R. Now I've got a pen in my hand. Yeah. Is that maybe? The Golden Flamingo? The Golden Flamingo.
49:40Ant McPartlin:The one and only Golden Flamingo.
49:42Declan Donnelly:Is there a the? Is there a the?
49:46Ant McPartlin:I don't think it is. I don't think it is, no. It what? I don't think it's a swap. You don't think it is? No. You sound surprised.
49:53Declan Donnelly:It's the Golden Flamingo, man. So I hear. Hi, all of hanging out. Yay. I have a proposed swap for Dex Trainers. I have a signed 2022 Shamrock Rover shirt signed by the entire team that won their 20th League of Ireland title. Nice shirt, man. I like that. It would once upon a time take pride of place, hang it up outside my wardrobe so I could see it. But it has been ever so slowly moved into the wardrobe that holds the clothes that don't get worn that often. You know, wedding suits, posh jackets, et cetera. Et cetera. You know the drill. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So I would love to see For the cool trainers.
50:34Declan Donnelly:Thanks, Matt. That's a possible.
50:36Ant McPartlin:Is it? Yeah. Shamrock Rovers. Yeah. I don't know any of those signatures. No. I don't know any of the players, but I think it looks quite nice. It is very good. Look nice on the wall here. Yeah, it would look good.
50:46Declan Donnelly:I like that. Okay. That's a possible. That's a possible. Next. Swap. Hi, guys. Hey. To all of us, I presume. I would like to offer a piece of TV history. Oh, now you're talking. To swap for Dex personalized trainers. My son, Henry, is a massive Adden Deck fan. And when you ask for viewers to send in videos to be shown on the last ever show of Saturday Night Takeaway, he jumped at the chance. Good. Much to all delight, he appeared on screen, pictured. Oh, yeah, there he is above us. Look, when we were singing the song. Yes. At the very end. And that's his hand puppet there. Much to all delight, he appeared on screen during the end song with McFly alongside his pirate puppet.
51:28Declan Donnelly:What I'm offering as a swap. What, is this song? That's a bit much, isn't it? Oh, no, it's not the sun. Silly me. It's the parrot from this iconic moment. He would make a brilliant addition to the hanging out den. Please consider us, for a swap respect, guys, Hayley and Henry Jones.
51:45Ant McPartlin:Hayley and Henry, you're on the shortlist. Oh, that's good. I like that. I like that a lot.
51:49Declan Donnelly:Good bit of story. It would sit nicely on the shelf. Yes. Hi, guys. Hey. Yeah, it's getting worse, isn't it? Hey. Yay! Forced to do this. I listen to all of your podcasts. Hooray! It keeps me going while I paint my studio. I wasn't going to offer a swap, but when I heard how much Dex trainers were, I thought I would offer something of high value. Priceless, even. I'm offering Dex the opportunity to own an original painting that was used on Britain's Got More Talent. Oh, yeah, I know this painting. Stephen commissioned the painting. It was used on the show, but has been since sitting in my loft for safety reasons, of course.
52:28Declan Donnelly:You all feature in the painting, as well as myself and my twin sister, who performed on BGT that year, 2017. I think it would look great hanging in a utility room or basement. A real talking boy.
52:41Ant McPartlin:Not private place in the living room or in the dining room. Or the bedroom. Utility room or basement.
52:47Declan Donnelly:Look at Dex Bomb. Look at Dex Bomb. Woo! Hey, look at that. Hey, do you work out? Hey, great buns. Great tone buns. Would you like that? Did you tell me room or basement?
52:59Ant McPartlin:No, I don't think I would. Because you're not bringing it here. I won't allow that. Well, looking at it as well, I mean, Stephen and Simon are kind of the stars of the show. We're bit part players in that. Simon looks bigger there as well, doesn't he? Yeah. Yeah, no, I think it's more, that's a Stephen Mulhern thing, isn't it? He's very much the star of that particular show.
53:16Declan Donnelly:Well, you could swap it and give it back to Stephen Mulhern. He commissioned it. Yeah, if Stephen commissioned it, Why is it not hanging on his utility room wall? Yeah. Yeah. Be accountable for yourself. If you commission it, you hang it on your wall. It's big as well. Look at it in comparison to the door. No, that's a no. I'm saying no and you'll be off. No, you're not swapping for that. No, thank you. So, last one today. Hi, Ant and Dick. Hi. Hi. Shh, shh, shut up, you lot. As a lover of bananas, I'd like to offer my banana case as a future swap. read on and my protector is still in perfect condition and my lunch every day benefits from a perfectly unbruised banana to be proud of regards Alan Nock age 61 and a half
54:01Ant McPartlin:Alan I'm afraid you're offering it to the wrong guy
54:05Declan Donnelly:it's a yes
54:06Ant McPartlin:I don't travel with bananas he's on the short list but he's never he's never getting it he's never getting it okay
54:13Declan Donnelly:so you've made some possibles today we've got ones from last time Shall we find out if you're going to swap today? We will. After this break, don't go anywhere. This next bit is an advert for Gemini, Google's AI app.
54:30Ant McPartlin:I'm very much enjoying this festival of football this summer. But I thought what I want to try and do is have food from around the world. Oh God. And you're cooking. And I'm going to try and cook. so I thought I could use Gemini to help me out to make a Mexican banquet can't be that difficult
54:55Declan Donnelly:it can
54:56Ant McPartlin:well let's find out Gemini I would like to cook my family a Mexican banquet vegetarian options would be good and I've only got an hour to prepare it here we go Gemini says an hour is a tight window for a full banquet, but you can absolutely pull off an epic stadium-ready Mexican spread if we lean heavily into build your own taco and nacho bar. Oh my God, that sounds good. What a great idea.
55:26Declan Donnelly:Build your own taco and nacho bar.
55:28Ant McPartlin:Can I come? Yes. That means I have to extend what I'm eating. Yeah, go on. Gemini, I am now inviting a friend, actually, who is lactose-free. Hit me. Easily done, says Gemini. A Mexican buffet is actually one of the friendliest setups for dietary restrictions because everything stays separated until it hits the plate. Great. Amazing. Can my lot come?
55:53Declan Donnelly:What? Can I bring my lot? It sounds good. Well, get the kids together, get the wives together. They can all chat, they can play, we can watch the football. Don't make it too spicy for the kids though. Are you kidding me? Just say it's not too spicy.
56:07Ant McPartlin:Gemini, we've got kids attending. what's the fastest emergency trick to cool down to de-spice my food to cool it down please I bet it's yoghurt or cream Gemini says quick fixes yoghurt squeeze in some lime juice juice or a splash of vinegar and cream and sour cream here we go cream dilute it toss in a can of drained sweet corn or kidney beans note do not avoid using sour cream or butter to cool down the food
56:37Declan Donnelly:shut up it doesn't say that yeah
56:38Ant McPartlin:because the dishes will not stay completely safe for your lactose-free friend. Aha! You shot yourself in the butt! With Gemini, you can chat live with a truly helpful AI assistant. You jump in, get some cooking tips, ask for more details or even show what you're talking about by sharing your screen or camera as well. 59:56Declan Donnelly:So you know that means that they're going. Do they really? Yeah, they go. Because you didn't pick from this and you're rolling over.
