In short

This episode of Ant and Dec’s “Hanging Out” is set in Canada and mixes travel banter, viewer letters, a Canada-vs-Noway-dian quiz, and games. Ant and Dec argue about a “Deck rift” after Dec goes on a bear safari without Ant. Dec also secretly goes shopping and buys novelty underwear featuring “Canadian beers,” which Ant finds unsettling. They read listener stories: hamsters named Ant and Dec, a mask that looks like Ant (mistaken for Noel Gallagher), and a “who’s the best whistler in Whistler” segment. They play “I’ve Got the Beaver,” a lying game where one person secretly has a beaver prop; Dec is revealed as the liar. They also do a whistling-song guessing game, discuss TV and AI adverts, and answer Q&A questions (including possibly doing the Great North Run).

1:38Declan Donnelly:Hello everybody

1:39Ant McPartlin:Well hello there, buddy Welcome back to Canada To our Canadian hangout for another hanging out with him, me And we're still in Canada

1:46Declan Donnelly:We're still in Canada, not long to go though

1:48Ant McPartlin:We are coming to the end of our time in Canada Which is a little bit sad I love it here Sad to be leaving, but very excited to get home But we are having a lovely time here Yeah, it's great. Almost finished. The series is looking good. I think you're going to really enjoy it. It's going to be on your tellies next year.

2:05Declan Donnelly:So we haven't been up to much, to be fair, because we've been working. We've been doing this to late, early starts, late finishes.

2:13Ant McPartlin:But all for your viewing pleasure. We did have a couple of lighter days earlier in the week where... We did? I managed to get out. Did you? I went on a bear hunt. What? I went... I went on a bear safari to find some bears.

2:32Declan Donnelly:I did. No, you did not.

2:33Ant McPartlin:I did. We said we were going to do that. We didn't have time to do it. But I, well, we didn't. We did. And I came and knocked on your door and you did. What? Shut up. What do you mean you knocked on me door?

2:44Declan Donnelly:I came past your hotel room. You've never knocked on my door in this whole trip.

2:48Ant McPartlin:I did this day because of the importance of.

2:51Declan Donnelly:And you went on a bear safari?

2:52Ant McPartlin:I went on a bear safari.

2:53Declan Donnelly:Without this? Yes. Water? Well, how loud did you knock on the door? Oh, that's great. That's... That's childish. That's like a child's knock. Who knocks like that? Text me phone or ring. I did? Shut up. I didn't have a missed call off you.

3:10Ant McPartlin:No, that's right. I didn't.

3:12Declan Donnelly:I listened to this music. Did you shout out?

3:16Ant McPartlin:I listened to the music, you know. See, you didn't answer. You winded me up anyway. No, it was a last minute thing. You winded me up. It was a last minute thing.

3:23Declan Donnelly:You wanted to lie in as well. You did say. I never, what have I lied in? What have I lay in then? What's the correct English for you? When? I've been up, I've been doing yoga, I've been stretching my body. I haven't lied in. Lay in. Lay in then, whatever. When am I going to do it then, anyway?

3:42Ant McPartlin:There's no time now, and I've done it. I'm over it. No, you haven't. Stop lying. I've got a video to show you. Here it is.

3:49Declan Donnelly:Look at that.

3:51Ant McPartlin:Rah!

3:55Declan Donnelly:Good, eh? Well, well done, all of you. That is just so rude and a break of friendship. How was the music in the shower? Loud, which is why I didn't hear a grandma knocking at me door. Hello, hello. You should text someone if you're going to do it. That is outrageous. It was all so last minute. I'm so, do you know, I can't even, I'm holding in the anger right now because I want to lash out. But that is not the answer. It was quite last minute. I'm pleased for you. Very last minute. Last second. I would never do that without you. I would kick the door. I'd actually go and get a card from reception and then pretend, say, hi, I've just left my card.

4:45Declan Donnelly:This is, room number's this. then I would go upstairs then I would let myself in and I would drag you out of bed or the shower. I would! To see bears! I love animals.

4:57Ant McPartlin:There was no guarantee we were going to see bears.

4:58Declan Donnelly:Were you seeing loads of bears? Two bears?

5:01Ant McPartlin:Two bears.

5:02Declan Donnelly:Two deers? Expensive deers.

5:05Ant McPartlin:Very expensive deers. They were very expensive deer. It was two deers. And a grouse. Two deer. And a grouse? Famous grouse, yeah. The famous grouse. I saw that.

5:13Declan Donnelly:Did you see Dec was wearing shorts as well?

5:15Ant McPartlin:And I was wearing shorts. You see, I was in my gym kit. That's how last minute I was. I was still in my gym kit. Anyway, we missed you. It wasn't the same without you.

5:27Declan Donnelly:It's a nice day, though. A friendship has been truly broken today. And a deck rift. Right, the headlines.

5:39Ant McPartlin:Bare-faced liar. Deck is bare-faced liar.

5:43Declan Donnelly:Whilst I was bare in the shower.

5:46Ant McPartlin:I also did a bit of shopping. When? After the bear hunt. Did you now? I went to some Canadian shops.

5:52Declan Donnelly:Well, when I was just bumming around the hotel on my own. What were you doing? Bumming around the hotel. Going here, thinking, where is everybody? And everybody just rocked up later on. You didn't feel to mention this when we had dinner that night. No. Because it was a dirty secret, that's why. Because you feel guilty about going without us. I went shopping.

6:11Ant McPartlin:Yeah, come on. There's a shop out here called Mark's. Not with Spencer. Yeah. Just marks on his own. Did you steal something from there? I didn't steal anything from there. I paid for it. But what I did see were Jamie Oliver's underpants. What? They sell them in Canada. Oh, those ones. His comfiest ever pants. Uh-huh. I bought a pair. And? He's got a point, you know.

6:35Declan Donnelly:Oh, you're right. I swear to God, you're just driving me crazy today. So, first of all, you didn't buy the underpants that I recommended. No, I didn't. that I've banged on about on this podcast for months and months and months. They weren't in the shop. They were too expensive for him. But you bought Jamie Oliver's. But these... Because they were discounted. Well, they were... Worn by one careful owner.

6:55Ant McPartlin:No, no. From a thrift store. They're not actually Jamie Oliver's. Flea market. No. But it was kind of a perfect storm. So I thought I'm going to buy them to try them. And then I found a pair that just were perfect for me. You found a pair? In the display. Right, go on.

7:14Declan Donnelly:I found it, man. Why were they perfect for you? I'll show you. Oh, God, no. Now he's undoing his belt. For those of you just listening, Dec is undoing his belt to show me. Hear this?

7:26Ant McPartlin:Yeah, I don't want to hear that. Who wants to hear that? That's for just the people listening that I'm doing my zip. Oh, God. Look, sax pants. Jimmy Hall's pants. With. What? Canadian beers. What?

7:41Declan Donnelly:What the hell? Who have you turned into? Now you wear novelty underwear. What the hell is this? This is unsettling. Disturbing, unsettling, damaging to my retinas. I don't want to see your arse. Don't show them. They don't want to see it. This is a tradition now. You showed your boxes last week. Yeah, he loves it, doesn't he? One of my onesies. Do them up properly and sit back down. Naturalist. Yeah, we can hear it. We can hear the fly. We can hear it.

8:09Ant McPartlin:ASMR.

8:09Declan Donnelly:This is what it's come to. You said last week. I used to have fun on this podcast. We used to laugh. We used to hang out. Now I'm just... Canadian beers, comfy pants. Bears, deers, friends. Sorry, Riley, you weren't involved in the bear hunt. I shouldn't have directed that at you. You've got the next one? There's another one.

8:32Ant McPartlin:But yes, so it's been a lovely time. Great, great. Sad that it's coming towards the end.

8:36Declan Donnelly:Looking forward to getting home now. Can't wait. Right. Hello. Hello. Hello. We had two hamsters. Ah, good! Call Ant and Dec. This is better. This has cheer me up. Oh, so this is late. 17, 1983. On the bonus episode last week, we had a letter, which was quite an in-depth letter about someone who had goldfish called, and they named them, Ant Dec and Stephen Mulhern. And lots of things happened to the Ant Fish and the Stephen Mulhern Fish. Go back and watch it if you haven't watched it. It made me laugh more than anything for a long time. So we've had a follow-up from that. We have some correspondence here saying we had two hamsters called Ant and Dec.

9:15Declan Donnelly:We came home one day to find Dec had eaten Ant. What? And there was just a pile of fluff left. Do they know that, hamsters? Is that a thing? Are hamsters cannibals? No, they're not. Are they? They can be. Oh, you greedy little git. Based on these two stories, call a pet Dec if you want them to thrive. Yes. This is Brooke L. Very good point.

9:38Ant McPartlin:That's a very good point.

9:39Declan Donnelly:Me says, oh my God, how creepy is this? I have the exact same story. Like literally word for word. Ha, you can never really have an original experience, can you? So what does she mean? The fish or the hamster? This was a comment on the TikTok of the story. So someone commented about the hamster and then that person had the same experience with their hamster also called Deck ate ants. So two Deck hamsters have eaten two ant hamsters. Wow. What is it about that name? That just makes people, the name makes them underhand and evil and murderous and cannibalistic. Got a letter here saying hi to Aunt Heckless Corner.

10:17Ant McPartlin:Hey.

10:17Declan Donnelly:Hey. And Aunt. I missed my own name. I was going to say. Hi, Aunt. I'm Heckless Corner. Oh, no, just, it's not. We missed your name out. Oh. Hi, Aunt and Heckless Corner. I'm currently working in Whistler too. So imagine my surprise when I went out for dinner yesterday evening, turned around and was suddenly confronted by Aunt in the flesh. I was in the flesh. You confronted this person. I knew you were in the area, but I didn't expect to bump into you without prior warning. Naturally, I did a double take followed by a slightly longer inspection, at which point I realized it wasn't actually you at all.

10:54Declan Donnelly:It was, in fact, a decorative mask. So I have two questions. Was this mask based on your face? And if so, why does it look suspiciously like Noel Gallagher? I await clarification on this extremely important manner. Yours faithfully, Dick. What? You've written the letter in? Yeah. I swear to God, this episode has just gone insanely mad.

11:23Ant McPartlin:I was in a restaurant.

11:25Declan Donnelly:We went to dinner. We went for dinner after the bear hunt.

11:27Ant McPartlin:After the bear hunt. We were sitting there. Go back and keep it all. I was like, look at that mask on the wall. I said, you know, we get loads of letters about people going, oh, look, Ant, you're Mr. Whippy. Oh, look, Ant, you're a plumber. Yeah, me jealous of you. Look, Ant, no. I was like, look, Ant, you've got a mask on the wall.

11:56Declan Donnelly:That actually does look like me. Me and Noel Gallagher. It's the eyebrows. It is the eyebrows, you're right. Big forehead, big eyebrows. It's uncanny. Uncanny. Uncanny. So what is that mask? Is that some native tribe? I did ask. Indigenous tribe? I asked the waitress at the restaurant.

12:17Ant McPartlin:And she said? She said. You're called the good-looking tribe. They've had the restaurant for, I can't remember how many years it is, they've had the restaurant for an amount of time. When they took over the restaurant, the masks were on the wall already, so they just left them on there. Spooky. So they didn't want to disturb any spirits.

12:34Declan Donnelly:You wouldn't want to disturb them, would you? You wouldn't want to say that spirit, would you? It's quite a hard face, isn't it? It is, isn't it? Quite a miserable looking face. But it is very... It's not like my face from your life.

12:44Ant McPartlin:This episode, yeah.

12:45Declan Donnelly:Yeah, this episode so far, thanks to you lot. Well, great. So are you done now? Are we done now? Can we carry on with a normal episode of the pod? Yeah. We can? Yeah. No more surprises? No. Good. So the guys have come up with a quiz. Is it a quiz about Canada? To see how much we've learned whilst we've been here.

13:05Ant McPartlin:So, been here for three, four weeks?

13:07Declan Donnelly:Yeah. Three and a half weeks? No-way-dian or Canadian?

13:10Ant McPartlin:Canadian or no-way-dian. Canadian or no-way-dian.

13:14Declan Donnelly:I like it.

13:14Ant McPartlin:Right, okay.

13:15Declan Donnelly:Good name.

13:15Ant McPartlin:So, all these things, Canadian or they're made up? And our Canadian expert has put it together, so she's going to take control. Thank you, Riley.

13:24Declan Donnelly:Here are a list of following items. You guys are going to answer if they're Canadian or no-way-dian.

13:30Ant McPartlin:Okay. Thank you for clarifying the rules.

13:32Declan Donnelly:The first one is Jenga. Jenga. Have you ever played Jenga? Yeah. Yeah, Jenga, the game where you push the blocks out and then it falls down. Yeah, the blocks, yeah, yeah. Jenga. I'm going to say, because it's random and it's top of the list, Canadian. Do you know what?

13:50Ant McPartlin:I've seen a lot of Jengas set up in Canada, like in bars. In all of the restaurants you go to after bear hunts. There was even two bears had a set of Jenga. No, yeah, there's Jenga set up everywhere. So I'm going to say, yeah, it's Canadian.

14:09Declan Donnelly:We do love our Jenga. It is Nowadian.

14:12Ant McPartlin:Nowadian!

14:13Declan Donnelly:Why is it so popular here? I don't know. I think we just like building things. Because for most of the time, it's dark and cold. So people are indoors, I presume. When it's not the summer, it's very cold here. It's true. We need our indoor activities. So basically, Jenga was created by a British game designer named Leslie Scott. well well done Leslie Scott well done you the second one which sounds British actually because we don't say this but a rubbish bag a rubbish bag no Canadian Canadian well the Canadians did actually invent the rubbish bag I guess maybe to protect from the bear bears because bears can't get through those bags can they what did they tell you on the bear safari Sorry, a little chat to you.

15:05Declan Donnelly:Fun fact, it was invented in Winnipeg. Winnipeg. In 1950, which actually seems kind of late. Yeah, it's quite recent. By Harry, I can't say the same, Wasilik and Larry Hansen. So two people.

15:19Ant McPartlin:It took two people to come up with the idea of the garbage bag.

15:22Declan Donnelly:It took two people to come up with the idea of a bag. Where did you get your bags from, Riley? And they're just so rich now. They have so much money. Well, did they get money off every bag? I honestly don't know any of these, but this is fantastic. Anyways, the dishwasher, washing your dishes.

15:40Ant McPartlin:I think if you invented the rubbish bag, you probably invented the dishwasher.

15:44Declan Donnelly:Yeah. So I'm going to say Canadian. Noadian. You're correct. Yes. Noadian. You can score because I'm doing really well this week. The first time ever. I guess we invented bags, but we didn't involve dishwashers.

16:00Ant McPartlin:That's probably a bit too technologically advanced. We only got electric like two years ago. Is that true? Yeah.

16:05Declan Donnelly:It was invented by an American, Josephine Cochran.

16:09Ant McPartlin:How do you feel about that?

16:12Declan Donnelly:Whatever.

16:14Ant McPartlin:Whatever.

16:16Declan Donnelly:Oh, this is a good one. Okay, the egg carton.

16:19Ant McPartlin:The what? Egg carton?

16:20Declan Donnelly:Yeah, where you put your eggs. I use them every day. Well, come on. Invaluable. Yeah, come on. As soon as you get your eggs, do you take them out of the carton and put them in a similar looking egg receptacle in the fridge? Definitely not. Or do you just leave them in the carton? Leave them in the carton. What do you do with the receptacle that has holes in to fit your eggs in that your fridge comes with? Goes in the cupboard. Okay.

16:41Ant McPartlin:Nobody ever uses that thing, do they, in the fridge? I do. For your eggs? We don't.

16:46Declan Donnelly:Well, other people in my family do, but that's it.

16:49Ant McPartlin:Do you use it?

16:50Declan Donnelly:Yeah. Do you? Yeah. Oh. Of course you do. It looks cool. Of course you do. It looks cool when you fill them up. What do you mean? And I don't like it when you've got like a row of three and you've got one and then two empty spaces. So I'll turn it around and see it. You've got the three at the front.

17:05Ant McPartlin:Wouldn't it be lovely to have all that time? I was probably knocking at the door looking for you to go about. Ed Carton.

17:12Declan Donnelly:Yeah.

17:12Ant McPartlin:No. Wade-ian. Canadian.

17:16Declan Donnelly:He's heard it. Yes! God save. And this one's actually cool because it was invented by a British Columbian in 1911, so before the garbage bag, by Joseph Coyle, reportedly after an argument about eggs arriving broken at his hotel. Who orders eggs to a hotel? That's the bigger question here. You're in a hotel, they'll cook your eggs. You don't need to order them. No, maybe he owned the hotel. Oh, yeah, I didn't think that. I thought he was staying there. But what did he do? You'd order eggs to a hotel. You would. You would. You would order eggs and you'd eat it in reception. Stinky egg lover.

17:55Ant McPartlin:What did he do with the egg cart in after he'd finished with it? Because the rubbish bag wasn't invented for another 49 years. threw it in the woods he just reused it for so many years well done

18:07Declan Donnelly:early example of recycling

18:09Ant McPartlin:I like it

18:10Declan Donnelly:the last one is the Hawaiian pizza the Hawaiian pizza I think

18:17Ant McPartlin:what is so random that it's true yeah I think the Hawaiian pizza was invented in Hawaii oh really don't know

18:27Declan Donnelly:oh really yeah that's what I think I'm saying no Norwegian. Yeah, Norwegian. It's good. It's got to be an American thing. It got you. It's a Canadian thing. It is. It is. Thank you very much. What up, Riley? Thank you. Thanks for playing along. You were playing along at home. And the winner of Canadian or Norwegian is... Ant. Yes. Woo. I don't think I've ever won a quiz on the podcast. So what a great day to win. What a great day to win after my heart is broken.

19:01Ant McPartlin:This podcast is sponsored by Santander, who understand that managing money can be overwhelming and building small everyday habits can make it feel manageable. Do you remember holidays when we were younger? Well, I remember the first holidays we went on as mates. Do you remember those? Our first trip to Gran Canaria? Yes. First lads holiday we ever went on was Gran Canaria. Me and you, I had to go and get a one-year passport. Yeah, do you remember that? Passports. So we went and got a one. Back in the day,

19:32Declan Donnelly:we got a one-year passport.

19:34Ant McPartlin:A one-year passport. Blown your mind. Blown your mind. But then you thought, well, I'll just get a one-year passport. If I go on holiday next year, I'll just get another one-year passport. Quite why we didn't get 10-year passports. Why don't we just get it?

19:45Declan Donnelly:Probably it was more expensive. Probably. I remember your burn feet. There was. We've talked about it on here before.

19:51Ant McPartlin:There was that. That was in Antigua. Yeah.

19:55Declan Donnelly:We had to stay in the room for three days to burn your feet so badly. Yeah, that wasn't. The cream rubbed off. That was a good memory for me. Not so good for you. Not so good for me. Funny for me. Do you know what I do remember, though? The feeling of saving up the money so you could go on the holiday.

21:08Ant McPartlin:He's a good whistler, isn't he? That's why you've got it. Is that your jumper? Are you the whistler from Whistler? Yeah, do you like that? That's very good. You are a good whistler. I am a good whistler. You can do a little trill and everything, can't you? I can. Wow.

21:23Declan Donnelly:Bit like your trumpet, Fiona. Go on. Not as good as my trumpet. Go on, give us a trumpet. Oh, it needs work. Oh, yeah. Bit bent, I jumped it. You've damaged it during the flight. It didn't travel very well. Talking of whistling, though, the reason why I started whistling is I've got a game. Go on. Because we're in Whistler. Yes. And when we're whistling, jump, man. And I love whistling. So here, I've got a list of songs I'm going to whistle to you. Right. And you have to see if you can guess what I'm whistling. Okay. That'll prove how good a whistler I am. Play along the way. Fiona's got some songs for you to whistle.

21:57Declan Donnelly:I'm not a great whistler. Let's see if we can all guess what songs Dex whistled. We'll take it in turns. I will start.

22:06Ant McPartlin:Play along at home.

22:09Ant McPartlin:Baby, baby, baby. Yes, Justin Bieber.

22:14Declan Donnelly:Good one. Got it straight away. Yeah, it was a good whistle.

22:16Ant McPartlin:Good whistle. Well done.

22:17Declan Donnelly:Thank you very much. Your turn. Oh, I'm not a great whistler.

22:21Ant McPartlin:Okay. Ha, ha, ha, ha.

22:26Declan Donnelly:You're right, you're not here.

22:27Ant McPartlin:No, you're making us laugh.

22:31Ha, ha, ha, ha.

22:34Declan Donnelly:Oh, look into my eyes. You'll see. Brian Allams.

22:43Declan Donnelly:Have you searched your heart? Search your soul?

22:51Declan Donnelly:Brian Allams, I've got it right, right? just say yes or no look into my eyes everything I do I do for you that's it that's what I was waiting for the oh sorry sorry okay me next

23:11Lily Gaga

23:34Ant McPartlin:Did you get that at home? Yeah of course I did Come on Okay me again Oh god Like

23:50Declan Donnelly:Let's go, girls. Sly Twins. Sly Twins, one of the songs you want. Man, you look like a woman. Man, I feel like a woman.

24:13Declan Donnelly:You look like a woman Oh God Oh my God This short history Just descended into chaos It's very like Endicium fever Sorry everybody

24:27Ant McPartlin:Sorry it's chaos today

24:28Declan Donnelly:Apologies if Doug offended you there With that That song Man you look like a woman

24:40Ant McPartlin:Hey man, you look like a woman

24:46Declan Donnelly:Hey man Hey man

25:03Ant McPartlin:Different strokes Well the world don't move To the beat of just one drum

25:08Declan Donnelly:What might be right for you May not be right for some It's not that Do it again? I'll do the chorus

25:27Ant McPartlin:On your wedding day Yeah It's What's That Fizz Alanis Morissette yeah ironic ah yes well done well done isn't it ironic one more one more go on you do the last one right

25:50Declan Donnelly:is it three songs in one are you mixing stuff together

26:00Declan Donnelly:theme tune

26:06Declan Donnelly:This is just a postman whistling on the way to work.

26:09Ant McPartlin:This is not a theme tune or a song. Even as I'm whistling, I'm thinking, this is a sound like a...

26:15Declan Donnelly:Right, I'll do it again. I'll tell you one thing. It's not whistling with confidence. Right. I feel like the woman...

26:32Declan Donnelly:Oh, oh, oh, right. Oh, you've got me now. My stop whistling because you put me off. What are you going to put me off? Oh, I've got... Yeah.

26:47Declan Donnelly:Oh, come on. Come on, out with it. You're all probably screaming. I just met you and this is crazy. Call me baby. that turns 15 years this year does it 15 years also did you realise I didn't like it then I don't like it now did you not realise

27:03Ant McPartlin:that they were all Canadian artists I did notice that I did notice that who sang that one Carly Rae Jepsen that's it one of my favourite songs that just end it there

27:15Declan Donnelly:end it when he says that end it end it when he says that that's that payback for going on the bear hunt without us

27:22Ant McPartlin:one of my favourite songs that we have had lots of grumbles in from you out there our listeners and viewers you've had quite a grumble one big one here today are you um but we've got some brilliant ones we love your grumbles keep them coming into us hanging out of battlebox.com i've got one here says client and deck and the hecklers hi thanks for bringing back the opportunity to moan my moan is twofold okay and pub-based. People queuing in a straight line at the bar. Yeah. Why would you do that? British pubs run on a system of self-awareness and fair play. Yeah, we do. Everyone knows who was there before them and our brilliant bar staff know who to serve next.

28:05Ant McPartlin:There's no need to queue like we're in primary school. I concur with that.

28:09Declan Donnelly:Is this the thing? People are starting to queue like in a line?

28:12Ant McPartlin:Yeah.

28:13Declan Donnelly:Really?

28:13Ant McPartlin:Yeah, people start...

28:14Declan Donnelly:I've noticed that. I don't go to pubs that much anymore but I saw... I wouldn't really... we really know

28:19Ant McPartlin:yeah people start to queue behind you now because back in my day

28:21Declan Donnelly:it was like just yeah you just queue everywhere like you just all vomit the bar vomit the bar and then it's up to the bar member to just realise who was first and then if and then if you go what was you like you go it's not me he's next yeah yeah it's etiquette pub etiquette that is a good grumble

28:36Ant McPartlin:well done Sid in Luton that is a very good grumble his second part of his grumble is people ordering cocktails in pubs oh yeah yeah I'd agree with that did he too long

28:47Declan Donnelly:Go to a cocktail bar. Yes.

28:48Ant McPartlin:I think it should become law that pubs have a small separate section at the bar for people to order time-consuming cocktails.

28:55Declan Donnelly:I agree. I agree. Although I would like to point out that it seems like he just wants to get his drink quickly. So if he'd like to talk to someone... He doesn't want to queue. I'm here.

29:08Declan Donnelly:He doesn't want to queue and he hates waiting for people to get a cocktail made. Yeah. Is that red flags? Yeah. A couple of red flags, everyone. I'll have you at the chat. I'm here, Sid.

29:20Ant McPartlin:Thank you, Sid. That is a very good one. Do you want to do the next one?

29:23Declan Donnelly:I'd love to do the next one. Hi, I'm Decker in Heckless Corner. Hey. One of my biggest grumbles is when people either walk up or down escalators and then when they get near the top or the bottom, they just stop. Why? Just carry on walking because you create traffic behind. Respect, guys. Lots of love. Sophie from Essex. hmm you're not having it I don't know that one because isn't so basically they just stood yes oh no they walk then they stop what's she saying they're walking down or they're walking up and then they stop you have to stop

29:58Ant McPartlin:because it's going to come to an end

30:00Declan Donnelly:yeah what she's saying is you shouldn't break stride you've got to keep going you've just got to keep going I get this

30:06Ant McPartlin:it's quite specific I get this on um flat escalators you know like in the airport yeah I can't bear that what People walk really quickly. Then they get on that escalator and then they really slow down. Stay at the same pace. Keep walking. Don't get on that escalator and stop walking. Keep the pace up. We've all got to be somewhere. You've gotten there to increase your speed, not decrease your speed. Yes. I can't bear dawdlers in airports. Get out of the way. Everybody's got to be somewhere who's at an airport. Don't dawdle and stand in the middle of the airport looking at the departure screen.

30:41Ant McPartlin:Oh, I can't stand that. Get yourself in a little spot where you're not impairing the people who are rushing for a flight or just want to get somewhere quickly.

30:53Declan Donnelly:It's people on their phones, wandering around on their phones, just looking. And they just stop in the middle. And I'll tell you what gets me as well, people with massive backpacks in boots. Specifically. Well, don't be rich. Name yourself an airport shop with small aisles. Yeah. You know, the small version of a high street shop, so let's take boots, for example. It's slightly smaller than what you'd get on the high street. And people have packed enough clothes for a month away or sometimes six months traveling in a backpack and they're walking around. You can't get past them.

31:30Ant McPartlin:Yeah.

31:30Declan Donnelly:And then they'll turn like that and they'll bash into you. Yeah. Can't stand that. No. I can't stand it. You could fit in the backpacks. They're that big. You could? No, I couldn't. You could. Could I? you absolutely could it's a cheaper way to fly you could save money on flights here cheaper way to fly

31:47Ant McPartlin:you're onto something Sophie but I'm not sure about yeah I'm not sure Sophie

31:51Declan Donnelly:will give you that one

31:51Ant McPartlin:hi Aunt Deck in Heckless Corner hey hey Susie in the Harrogate says a minor grumble of mine is people who have phone calls in public and hold the phone at 180 degrees from their mouth on loudspeaker oh yeah yeah how much less effort would be needed just to hold it to your face and ear instead you know the way they designed them to be every time I see someone doing this I want to go over and slowly tip the phone up and around their face in one swift movement. Keep up the great worth. Respect, guys. I couldn't agree more.

32:19Declan Donnelly:You're not a contestant on The Apprentice. Why are you speaking like that? Lord Sugar says the cars will be here in 20 minutes. Yeah, why are you speaking like that? Yeah. I don't get it. Or if you're really bothered about, I don't know, having the phone that close to your head, buy some wired headphones. Yeah. Yeah, I mean, you can have that one.

32:36Ant McPartlin:It's either Sid and Luton, who's desperate for a beer. it's desperate Sophie on the escalator or it's Susie with people on loudspeaker

32:46Declan Donnelly:Susie Susie for me

32:47Ant McPartlin:she wins best grumble well done Susie good morning to Susie well done you you are our grumbler of the week

32:54Declan Donnelly:time to throw back to you Kian and Dec you've got something to say oh I love them here they are

33:01Ant McPartlin:this is an advert

33:02Declan Donnelly:for TV licensing do you know I love this time of year the weather gets a little colder yes Halloween is in the air I don't really love Halloween. Fancy dress. Oh, you don't like fancy dress. I hate fancy dress. Yeah, it's fancy dress. But you know what is good? All good telly comes back in the autumn. Yeah, good telly in the autumn. Good telly. Watching telly at night to sit down with some chocolate doesn't get much better than that.

33:24Ant McPartlin:You've got some great dramas, really good docs. Great entertainment shows. Great entertainment shows and really, really good reality. Yes. Big Brother. Big Brother is back. It's back on. It is one of those shows that can be different every single year. even though it's the same format you can play around with it and it can be very different every year and it's always different because there's always a different cast in there a bit like I'm a celebrity in that a bit like I'm a celeb which you've got coming later in the year as well but with Big Brother like do you remember the first series when it first came on oh my god it was just like nothing else we'd ever seen it was revolutionary

33:57Declan Donnelly:would you make a good housemate?

34:00Ant McPartlin:no why? I wouldn't I think I'd be too impatient

34:05Declan Donnelly:so that's good reality

34:07Ant McPartlin:yes

34:07Declan Donnelly:Good drama's coming as well on ITV. Yes, go on. The Rainmaker. I've heard of this. Have you? Is this it? I say no more then. Or shall I fill you in? Because this was my moment. Fill me in. Is this a book? It was a John Grisham novel. That's it. Young lawyer versus old lawyer. And they go head to head in the courtroom. Battle of a courtroom. It's very good. I love a courtroom drama. Yeah, it's good. So that's coming out this month. Amazing. Really good fascinating fact about Rainmaker for you. Go on. The actor, there's an actor in it called PJ Byrne. No way. But he's playing the character, Deck Shifflett.

34:42Declan Donnelly:So PJ's playing Deck? PJ's playing Deck. It's a must-watch. But I was Duncan. No, you're getting confused. Just watch it. Anyway, so much good telly. So much good telly.

34:56Ant McPartlin:And a TV licence covers you to watch over 400 TV channels, including the ones we've talked about today and BBC iPlayer.

35:04Declan Donnelly:To find out more, go to tvl.co.uk slash pod. This next bit is an advert for Gemini, Google's AI app. I wonder who the viewers think is better at golf, me or you? Probably me. Why would you say that?

35:20Ant McPartlin:Lower centre of gravity.

35:22Declan Donnelly:Yeah, that doesn't work.

35:23Ant McPartlin:The whole you are, the better. Shall we see who has got the best swing at the moment? Yeah. We could use Google Gemini. Okay. See who's got the best swing.

35:31Declan Donnelly:Go on, stand up there then. Okay, there you go. Get yourself ready. Do you need any warm-ups or something? No, straight in away. Gemini, can you rate Dex's golf swing out of bananas? Eight being the best, zero being the least. Go.

35:48Ant McPartlin:What does Google Gemini say about that?

35:50Declan Donnelly:I'd give Dex's swing about two bananas out of eight. What? What?

35:55Ant McPartlin:Okay, do me.

35:56Declan Donnelly:How can I? How can I? No second chances. No second chances. I want to know how to improve.

36:01Ant McPartlin:Gemini, rate and swing out of bananas. Eight being the best, zero being the worst.

36:09Declan Donnelly:I'd give it about three bananas out of eight. Three bananas! I got three bananas. You got two bananas. Ayo, ayo, ayo.

36:17Ant McPartlin:I mean, neither of us have covered ourselves in glory.

36:19Declan Donnelly:Well, even Stevens, there's a point in it. Bit like golf yesterday. That's so annoying. Point for me today. A point for you yesterday.

36:28Ant McPartlin:With Gemini, you can chat live with a truly helpful AI assistant. 37:06Ant McPartlin:shops putting smells through their air conditioning systems to make you buy stuff we've had green keepers on golf courses moving the pin just because they're annoyed at some golfers what have we had this week have a listen to this hi guys so i used to work in an outlet at a popular of supermarket and every day at 4pm they play Let's Get Ready to Rumble and all the supermarket workers had to go and move all the older produce and veg to the front of the shelves. I loved hearing your song though only as it signalled it was nearly time to go home. LOL. Love the podcast. Never miss an episode. Love you guys.

37:38Ant McPartlin:Respect. Anonymous. Respect. Anonymous.

37:41Declan Donnelly:Well, I didn't really understand what they were saying. They played Let's Get Ready to Rumble when it was time to go home. At four o 'clock

37:46Ant McPartlin:and that was the sign to move all of the specials, all of the stuff that was going off to the front. So people would buy that. So people would get, and I think they must have put the reduce stickers on, did they? Ah. But Anonymous loved it because it was Signal. Not because it was our song, but because it was Time to Go Home. Right.

38:04Declan Donnelly:That's good to know. So let's get ready to rumble. Signals, you're going out of date. You're nearing your sell-by date. Let's get ready to rumble. Signals, you're nearing your sell-by date.

38:16Ant McPartlin:Oh, we knew that a long time ago.

38:18Declan Donnelly:Yeah, we did.

38:20Ant McPartlin:That's all we've got this week.

39:14Ant McPartlin:so a lot of the TV is all about kind of lying and making people think something different. So I thought we could play a game here to see who would be the best liar. It's called... I went on a bear hunt because you're the liar. You've got to let this go. It's called I've Got the Beaver.

39:34Declan Donnelly:Right.

39:34Ant McPartlin:Here's the beaver.

39:35Declan Donnelly:Oh, our beaver.

39:36Ant McPartlin:Yeah. And we have to turn around, decide between the two of us who's actually got the beaver. Right. Then turn around and convince everybody here who's got the beaver.

39:44Declan Donnelly:Okay.

39:44Ant McPartlin:Should we do it? Yeah, let's do it. Okay. Right, come over here. we'll close our eyes

39:50Declan Donnelly:oh close your eyes don't laugh alright

40:03Declan Donnelly:oh god alright keep your eyes closed alright

40:11Declan Donnelly:can we look you can look

40:14Ant McPartlin:it's hard to sit down because I've got the beaver I want to bash it off the chair

40:20Declan Donnelly:So you both You both have the beaver Yeah

40:22Ant McPartlin:Now you can all ask us questions Where is it? Behind my back Behind my back You nana Is it not Okay I thought you put it on your trousers No I'm not risking these boxer shorts I've got But I have got the beaver Okay What does it feel like And your beaver It's cold

40:44Declan Donnelly:Cold and shiny You can feel it right now It's bigger in your hands. It's not just one hand. It's one hand and two fingers in the other hand, lengthways.

40:54Ant McPartlin:I think Dex trying too hard.

40:58Declan Donnelly:He's uncomfortable with it.

41:04Ant McPartlin:No, it is uncomfortable, genuinely. But you can't, I've got the beaver. No, I've got the, I have, genuinely, I have genuinely got the beaver. It's very uncomfortable. I already know who's got the beaver. I've got the beaver, yeah, it's obvious. I've got the beaver.

41:20Declan Donnelly:I have it in my hands right now. Do you promise? Yes, I'm looking at you dead in the eyes. I've got the beaver, I've got the beaver, I've got the beaver, I've got the beaver. I've got the beaver. You know I got the beaver.

41:32Ant McPartlin:He's clearly lying.

41:33Declan Donnelly:Look down the lens and say that.

41:36Ant McPartlin:I've got the beaver. Look to your close-up and say it. I've got the beaver. Do you believe him? You shouldn't, because it's a lie. It's a bare-faced lie. Because I've got the beaver. I've got the beaver. I've got the beaver.

41:50Declan Donnelly:Oh, it's so uncomfortable. It's too much, isn't it? It's too much. Yeah. I'm not trying.

41:58Ant McPartlin:It's because it's uncomfortable to have the beaver behind my back. It's fine for me. Look.

42:03Declan Donnelly:Oh, nobody thinks it's got it. I'm sitting in discomfort because I've got the beaver. We're going to show off our beaver after three. One, two, three. No!

42:18Ant McPartlin:Dax got the beaver!

42:19Declan Donnelly:I've got the beaver! Dax got the beaver! It was so uncomfortable to sit with the beaver. Oh, my God! Got you! We got you, guys! We cannot be trusted. And we've also got the title of a brand new show, I've Got the Beaver, hosted by Adam Deck, coming to ITV1 and ITVX this autumn. Nearly out of time. Aww. But we've always got time for you guys. Hooray! Hooray! Yay, I've got the beaver. We've got your questions, which you sent in to us through the broadcast channel. Thank you for sending them in. Please just keep sending them in. We will try and get through as many as we can. Shall I start? Go for it.

42:58Declan Donnelly:This is from Lisa Marie. Who are some musical artists you've been listening to recently? Are there any good artists that you recently discovered? I did, by accident, there is a band, I think it's a man and a woman, called Oh and the Mo. Oh, and the Mo. Really good. They're a bit like Corumbin. You know, they're not really like. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And it came on like Spotify, just offers you songs that sound like ones that you've listened to before. And then Wilder started just dancing to it on his own for the first time. And it's really quite cool music. So I'm really thrilled because he's slightly moved away from Pepper now.

43:37Ant McPartlin:Oh, right.

43:38Declan Donnelly:But he's gone. That's quite a transition. And he's gone from Pepper, you know, Bing Bong song at the zoo.

43:45Ant McPartlin:Yeah.

43:45Declan Donnelly:Yeah. To this, if you search it up, they're pretty cool. Oh and the Moe. Oh and the Moe. They're good. You like them? I like it.

43:53Ant McPartlin:I'm going to try that. You?

43:55Declan Donnelly:And the key are obviously in the shower. That's why I couldn't hear someone knocking at the door. I didn't know that was Oh and the Moe in the shower.

44:00Ant McPartlin:I thought I could hear voices. What am I listening to? I obviously always listen to a bit of Sam Fender on a mountain about. And then again, I got offered up a band called Leezers. Oh, really? You heard of Leezers? No. They're good too. Are they? They're a northeast band. the song very good the song I'm listening to a lot at the minute is Audrey Horburt Sue Me oh it's good good pop song is it?

44:23Declan Donnelly:a little bit maybe huh? Sue me Sue me Sue me Sue me Sue me is that how it goes? no it's good

44:31Ant McPartlin:no no Audrey Horburt okay Sue Me she's like Edgy Taylor Swift oh okay good it's a good song well done I don't know what the rest of her stuff's like good review yeah Edgy Taylor Swift she's good my turn do your wives get jealous of your close relationship yes that's from Den Blade yes they do yeah they're very very jealous they do everything they can to split us up like take us home

45:58Declan Donnelly:okay good um I've got one for here from Michelle Louisa 1966 why oh why have you never ran in the great north run I'll tell you for why because we did run in the junior great north run well we didn't when we were in back of growth we didn't we were dressed as teenage mutant ninja turtles and the story was we had to run the junior great north run and it was quite enough setting time because you're painted green and you've got a green baller suit on with a green mask and we had to do running because obviously you can't fake running you can't act running you've got to just run so i was very sweaty it hurt my legs I had the wrong trainers on and didn't like it the experience but now I was talking to my kids about this the other day actually because one of my daughters is in Newcastle at Union she's like she went down to the Great North Run the other day for the finish line so the red arrows and stuff or the start line so the red arrows and she's like would you ever do it and I was like do you know what I feel like I should I feel like I should before I'm 60 I've got a decade get ready to do it half marathon and I'd like to say I've done it.

47:11Declan Donnelly:Me too. I'd like to do it. Should we do it? Yeah, we probably should do it. Let's do it. We should do it. Let's do it. Not next year. Not next year. I'm very busy next year. But we need to be able to train. Yeah. I want to be able to train to get good at it. But yeah, we need to do it before we get too old. Too old. The knees have gone too badly. Everything hurts. I reckon I could just get away with it on my knee. Just. Okay. Good trainers. Yeah. A little bit of support. Let's do it. Andy Burnham could do it. We could do it.

47:36Ant McPartlin:Yes. Come on. I've got one here from Claire McSuds. But strangely, she spells Claire with a K.

47:45Declan Donnelly:Oh, she's crazy like that.

47:48Ant McPartlin:Ant, after the PJ storyline, did anyone think you'd become blind in real life?

47:54Declan Donnelly:Oh, yeah, people used to come to me all the time and wave their hand in front of me, eyes. Can you see me? Are you blind? I think it was hilarious, which I think is... Insensitive. Insensitive to partially sighted and blind people. so the show will be cancelled. That's what I'm saying.

48:12Ant McPartlin:Well, yeah, but some people did get mixed up with real life and what was on the telly. Yeah, oh God, yeah. Do you remember when we used to be in the pub and people would come and go, huh, can you see that pint in front of you?

48:22Declan Donnelly:Yes, yes. Yeah, that used to happen quite a lot. At G Weezer says, if you two were animals, what animals would you be? A cheeky monkey.

48:35Ant McPartlin:I'd be a cheeky monkey.

48:39Declan Donnelly:easy well done I'd be a dog I'd be a dog

48:44Ant McPartlin:what kind of dog a big dog a big dog a big dog

48:45Declan Donnelly:a big dog a big dog like my Hurley I'd be I'd be yeah big lollipy Labrador I think yeah nice what a life what a life I mean if you you know I looked up for him really well yeah can I come back as my dog how does that work

49:01Ant McPartlin:I think that would be weird

49:03Declan Donnelly:would it

49:03Ant McPartlin:I think so yeah

49:04Declan Donnelly:that couldn't work in the universe But if I put it out to the universe, if I manifest these things, I'd like to come back as my dog.

49:12Ant McPartlin:But then who would look after your dog? You. Me. That's weird. Why is that weird? Well, you can't look after yourself. Why not? Well, you can't look after yourself in dog form, as a human. Says who? Well, do you know this? Well, I can't get my head around it.

49:28Declan Donnelly:So I would, I'm no longer here, right? Who's looking after the dog? I've died. Right. But then I come back as my dog. And who looks after the dog? I do

49:39Ant McPartlin:you've died how about that you're dead

49:41Declan Donnelly:yeah but then I come back as you in time as the dog oh for god's sake do you get me

49:47Ant McPartlin:yeah that's absolutely allowed thought so yeah

49:50Declan Donnelly:good luck with that thought so fabulous you wait well I speak to the comic gods when I get up there

49:55Ant McPartlin:um got time for one quick one yes but it's a goodie it's a quickie but it's a goodie yeah this is from curry 9573 yeah What time do you go to bed?

50:12Declan Donnelly:Depends. When we're doing this show, the... Depends if you've come back as yourself or the dog. Well, if I'm the dog, I'd sleep loads throughout the day. Yes. And then I would go to bed when my master, me, went to bed. Yeah. So that would depend on a lot of things.

50:31Ant McPartlin:So what time do you go to bed? The dog or me? No, you. Master. No.

50:36Declan Donnelly:What time do you go to bed, master?

50:42Ant McPartlin:To bed. Just in 10 o 'clock. Christ. We've got somewhere to be. Let's wrap this up. 10 o 'clock.

50:55Declan Donnelly:What time does your dog go to bed?

50:58Ant McPartlin:He goes to bed when I go to bed.

51:00Declan Donnelly:Yeah.

51:01Ant McPartlin:When his master goes to bed?

51:02Declan Donnelly:What time is that?

51:03Ant McPartlin:10 o 'clock. 10 o 'clock. Yeah. 10 o 'clock. Great. Watch the news. Lights out. 12, 10. Does your dog. Does your dog. Does your dog. I think that's all we've got time for this week for our last full-length podcast here in Canada. We will be back on Monday with a little quickie, a little quick. Let's have a quickie on Monday. We'll have a quickie on Monday. And then we're out of here. So we'll see you on Monday for a question and answer session. And then what? A question and answer session. That's what it is, isn't it? 51:42Ant McPartlin:Doesn't sound as good. Question and answer session.

51:46Declan Donnelly:That sounds very corporate, doesn't it? We're now throwing over to the floor for questions. Well, we'll see you on Monday for something. And we'll have some full of money. See you there, guys. Respect and all that. Respect, guys.

51:58Ant McPartlin:Bye, buddy.

51:59Declan Donnelly:Come on.

52:09Declan Donnelly:Taylor Hanson? Sure, I'll try one. Mmm. Bites, bit-jip-a-dop-a-dop. Hey, let's get back to work, please. But Taylor Hanson's making my day way better with these new soft and swirly King's Hawaiian Cinnamon Bites.

52:21Ant McPartlin:Taylor Hanson? Nice! Try one. Mmm.

52:25Declan Donnelly:Bites, bit-jip-a-dop-a-dop.

52:28Ant McPartlin:King's Hawaiian Cinnamon Bites.

52:29Declan Donnelly:Don't you love them?

52:30Ant McPartlin:There's nothing like it.
