In short

Ant & Dec (in Canada) celebrate Declan’s birthday week with “grumbles” about over-serious birthday celebrations and the annoying “Happy Birthday” song; they also do a “Gage the Age” celebrity guessing game, read listener letters about Ant/Dec lookalikes and birthday cakes, and share “Tricks of the Trade” (including a golf greenkeeper revenge tactic). They try Canadian snacks (beaver tails) and teach Canadian slang (“nice it,” “chirping,” “bunny hug,” “wheeling”). They also discuss routine/enrichment for their dogs via Gemini ads, plus sponsor segments for Santander savings and Botox for chronic migraine.

Guests

No guest interviewees; only recurring hosts Ant and Dec, plus a “real-life Canadian” listener (unnamed, off-camera) who joins the slang quiz.

Key claims/examples

Beaver tails were bought cold and “ruined” versus ideally hot with cinnamon sugar/Nutella. Golf greenkeepers may move pins to punish golfers who don’t rake bunkers/repair pitch marks. “Nice it” means “be quiet/stop talking.” “Bunny hug” = hoodie. “Gage the Age” winner: Declan, correctly guessing Michael Douglas turns 82 on Sept 25.

0:30Declan Donnelly:From athletic stuff like a full-court pickup game, swish, to athletic-ish stuff like a half-mile stroll. Get those steps in. Head to Sierra or Sierra.com for the brands you want at the prices that let you do it all. From athletic to athletic-ish, Sierra's got it. Chronic migraine is 15 or more headache days a month, each lasting four hours or more. Botox, onabotulinum toxin A, prevents headaches in adults with chronic migraine before they start. It's not for those with 14 or fewer headache days a month. It prevents on average 8 to 9 headache days a month versus 6 to 7 for placebo. Prescription Botox is injected by your doctor.

1:05Effects of Botox may spread hours to weeks after injection causing serious symptoms. Allerge your doctor right away as difficulty swallowing, speaking, breathing, eye problems or muscle weakness can be signs of a life-threatening condition. Patients with these conditions before injection are at highest risk. Side effects may include allergic reactions, neck and injection site pain, fatigue and headache. Allergic reactions can include rash, welts, asthma symptoms and dizziness. Don't receive Botox if there's a skin infection. Tell your doctor your medical history, muscle or nerve conditions, including ALS Lou Gehrig's disease, myasthenia gravis or Lambert-Eaton syndrome, and medications, including botulinum toxins, as these may increase the risk of serious side effects.

2:55Ant McPartlin:and centre of the class. Right, right from there. I'm really getting on with the yoga teacher now. Like a teacher's pet.

2:58Declan Donnelly:I am, I really am.

3:00Ant McPartlin:Look at me, look how bendy I am.

3:01Declan Donnelly:She loves my downward dog. Dirty downward dog. The guy in the back right-hand corner. Oh yeah, I saw him. Oh, you were there for that one?

3:10Ant McPartlin:Yeah.

3:10Declan Donnelly:Yeah, you saw him?

3:11Ant McPartlin:Yeah.

3:11Declan Donnelly:And then when she says, where is your wife today? And he went...

3:15Ant McPartlin:I didn't hear this.

3:15Declan Donnelly:He says, oh, my wife had quite a grumbly stomach in the night and she was up all night so I don't know if it's a bug or something she's eating. and I'm like, and you've come to a yoga class where everyone's breathing out, breathing hard. And you're sat in the back breathing like that in an air with no, in a room with no windows open. No air. And I was lying in bed last night thinking, I've caught it off him. I've got a yoga bug. I've got a yoga bug? That's just, how rude is that?

3:50Ant McPartlin:That is a bit rude.

3:51Declan Donnelly:My wife's got a grumbling, you should be in bed. It was 7am.

3:55Ant McPartlin:Yeah.

3:57Declan Donnelly:So yeah, we've done yoga and it's been great. Really relaxing.

3:59Ant McPartlin:Really relaxing. Hasn't been stressful at all.

4:02Declan Donnelly:I'm in a real flow state when I do it.

4:04Ant McPartlin:Hasn't been stressful at all. Are you sleeping all right out here?

4:08Declan Donnelly:Okay, I still wake up in the night.

4:10Ant McPartlin:I have this thing, right, when we are away, and we travel a lot for work, don't we? We do. Different hotels and bits and bobs. And I have this thing, because of our job and what we do, when we're hosting a TV show, you're always looking for the camera with the red light on it because that's the one you've got to talk to. So when I'm away and I've got jet lag and I wake up in the middle of the night, you know, the TV's got a red light on it and I kind of go, and I kind of think I'm on telly.

4:38Declan Donnelly:I'm on telly.

4:40Ant McPartlin:I'm on telly. I'm on telly. And I have those dreams sometimes. But didn't you,

4:44Declan Donnelly:you used to have these back when we were doing Saturday mornings. Yeah. And didn't you used to wake up like in an anxious sweat?

4:51Ant McPartlin:I always, always used to have anxiety dreams before shows. Yeah. Yeah. Oh, you're having anxiety dreams now? I dream about the show. I had a dream last night about a format, about the format of like a challenge and stuff. Right. And people weren't getting it and I was getting really irate, like, no, you don't understand. So yeah, and then I woke up and the red light was on. I thought, oh, I'm on the telly. I do that quite a lot.

5:12Declan Donnelly:I'm in me pants. Welcome, I'm just letting you get me out of here. I'm in me pants. Do you have a sneak talk? I don't know. No. Don't know. He snores. I know that. My God, for such a little fella, the noise that comes out of his mouth is huge. It is. It's like an airplane taking off. Not anymore. Why? What have you done? I've just stopped doing it. You can't just, you can't. What you've just said to yourself, I'm going to stop snoring. Yeah. That's it. Yeah. Because you're sleeping on your own out here. You don't know. Oh, maybe. I'm going to sleep around at yours tonight. No, you don't. I'm going to let you know what happened.

5:48Declan Donnelly:Absolutely not. So let's hit a camera and go around and record them. Oh yeah, I know. Why don't you just record yourself and then we can play on the pod next time.

5:57Ant McPartlin:Not because then I'll wake up going, I'm on.

5:59Declan Donnelly:I'm being recorded. Two cameras. I'm being recorded. There's a main shot and there's a close-up on my phone.

6:05Ant McPartlin:I had a very rude awakening the other day. Did you? Three o 'clock in the morning, my phone started ringing and I normally put my phone on Do Not Disturb. Well, in fact, I had put my phone on Do Not Disturb but then for some reason, you know when somebody rings your phone and it rings on your laptop, Or on your iPad. Yeah. So my phone was on, do not disturb. But my iPad and laptop started ringing in the middle of the night, three o 'clock in the morning, woke me up. I was like, oh, red light. Do you ever wake up in a nice way? Very rarely. Everything just so anxious and chaotic. But then it was going off.

6:39Ant McPartlin:So I was like, what the hell is that? I grabbed my phone. I looked at it. The phone was ringing. I was a bit like that. Swiped it, opened it. Big face in the screen. Isla. had nicked mummy's phone and wanted to ring daddy.

6:54Declan Donnelly:You can't be angry at that. I couldn't be angry.

Read the full transcript

6:56Ant McPartlin:I couldn't be angry. Did you answer? Yeah. Hi, daddy. I said, it's three o 'clock in the morning, darling. But it was lovely. It was very nice. And then I phoned her back later on. She went, I'm so sorry, daddy. I didn't realise. I said, can't be angry at you. You can't. Well done.

7:12Declan Donnelly:Well done.

7:13Ant McPartlin:It was just nice that she wanted to talk to daddy. Yeah, it is nice. It was nice.

7:16Declan Donnelly:Have you had anyone from the hotel that you've spoken to who isn't British or Australian.

7:22Ant McPartlin:We've met very few Canadians. Yeah, really.

7:24Declan Donnelly:They're all Brits, Aussies. Yeah. So obviously the guys in the crew, a lot of them are Canadian, but we don't see a lot of them because they're out shooting in the forest. So they're with the celebrities. So we don't get on all time shifts. We don't get to see them. Even the girl who's cleaning my room, who happened to come out of the room yesterday morning as she was coming in, you know, and you open the door. Yeah, housekeeper there, ready to go. I was like, don't worry, you can go in. And she was like, oh, thank you very much. Where are you from? She went, I'm from Essex. So I'm nice to meet you.

7:56Declan Donnelly:And she was like, oh, it's really nice to meet you. And she obviously recognized us. And then I was like, in a bit of a sweat, walking down the corridor going, have I put all them pants away? Them dirty, them dirty. Where have I put all that? Where have I put them? So yeah, not even the housemates are Canadian. I don't know. Where do we go to meet Canadian people in Canada? Where are you all? If you're Canadian, you're watching, come visit us. It'd be like to speak to you. I haven't heard any guy say, well, hello there, buddy.

8:24Ant McPartlin:So you're the only one. I know. Speaking of Canadian, in front of us here are two boxes on the table, red boxes. But on the side here, it says beaver tails. It also says happiness inside. So these are a traditional Canadian snack, right? Yes, they are.

8:42Declan Donnelly:A beaver tail. Yes, a famous Canadian fried dough pastry. Bonjour, my sweet, it says on the lid. This is not a beaver tail, right? It's dope. It looks like a schnitzel. It does look like a schnitzel. They haven't deep-fried an actual beaver's tail, because I wouldn't eat that. That's a trial. Are you meant to have these hot, really? Yeah, ideally. Because I presume this is like... Oh, it's very cold. It's very cold. I presume this is like cinnamon sugar. He said it would still be nice. So it's like a churro kind of thing. Yeah. I'm not sure about... Oh, gosh, it's very cold. that one would have been amazing.

9:21Declan Donnelly:The fact that it's cold is a real shame. It's very sugary. Yeah, that's what I like about it. Cinnamon sugar. Is this really popular here? Do you like a churro? I could take a little bit. Well, that's why you won't like these. Right. But if that was hot, that would be lovely. Yeah, and they do it with Nutella. When did you buy these? Tuesday. Late last night. Week past Tuesday. You've ruined it, really. You've ruined my beaver tail. I need a fresh beaver tail. Where did you get it from? Beaver tails. A beaver's house. Yeah. Okay. Oh, it's very sugary. That's right on my street, that is. I'd like to try that again.

9:56Declan Donnelly:So tell me when you got it. I'm going to go there. I'm going to get a fresh one. I'm going to report back. Okay. Because that is not doing it justice. A cold, hard beaver tail. And you need a bit of Nutella on it. Ice cold. It's a traditional one. Is it traditional? Yeah. To have it that cold? Yeah. Or you just couldn't be bothered? you had to come in very early today I couldn't get you left at the same time as us yeah the shop doesn't even until midday midday? yeah

10:28Ant McPartlin:you're making this up no shops open at midday it does and it closes at 10pm

10:33Declan Donnelly:you know I'm going to check up on this yeah we're still going to check up on this well thanks for the effort thanks for all of your recommendations thanks for your recommendations I'm going to go to all of the little effort you went to on getting that beer a deal.

10:46Ant McPartlin:Little or no effort. Thank you for the recommendations. A letter here I want to bring to your attention. It says, hi, guys. Hi. I was driving down the road in Canada, and to my surprise, there was Ant. Oh, not again. Well, she spotted you in Canada. You've made it to West Coast, Canada. Loving the pod, Emma. Yeah, I am West Coast, Canada. That's where we are, Vancouver. No, no, no. you are on West Coast Canada.

11:17Declan Donnelly:It's him again. It's him again. It's the guy. It's the other one. He's Mr. Rooter this time. Mr. Rooter. If that was Australian language. Yeah, it's been something different in Australia. That would mean something very different. Oh, and I write Aussies. Mr. Rooter. What did you do? Fix your Wi-Fi? He's plumbing. He's a plumber. Oh, I thought like Rooter. You know, you've got your Rooter. Plumber. Okay. Yeah, he's like the older version of the younger one that we see without the hat. Yeah. Do you know what I mean? Like the ice cream guy is a bit younger than him. So he's slightly older. He's me now.

11:50Declan Donnelly:Yeah. Whereas the ice cream guy is me in my 30s, 20s, 30s. Oh my God. There he is. Do you think the person who originally sketched that still gets money? Or do you think it's just ripped off around the world? Do you think I am ripped off all the way around the world?

12:08Ant McPartlin:Yeah, I think so. I think it's just you've got such a classic classic looking face quite a saleable face it's quite sellable sellable yeah you know I think you're right you could sell anything anything

12:21Declan Donnelly:plumbing ice cream yeah kebabs kebabs I sell a lot of kebabs this face sells a lot of kebabs

12:30Ant McPartlin:so if you're starting a new business and you really need to succeed why don't you think about having aunt here as the face of your business why not I won't sue

12:38Declan Donnelly:I mean I will If you use that, I don't care. But I will. I'm very litigious. So I'm going to make it my mission for the rest of this week to speak to more Canadians. To actively try and get out there and speak to Canadians. Meet the people. Are you? No. You've just got to lock yourself away in your ivory tower, are you? Yes. In your yoga palace.

13:02Ant McPartlin:I'm going to keep talking to Brits and Aussies. No, but I'm going to do that. I am. If you do, I've got some phrases that you can maybe learn. Learn. So you can impress them. What, like Canadian slang words or Canadian chatter? Yes. Come on then. So I've got a little quiz.

13:16Declan Donnelly:Go on then. Right, okay. You can guess what it means. Great. Look, Steve's put his tea down now. He loves a quiz. Look at him. Look. I love a quiz. I just love quizzes. Okay, so number one, if someone tells you to nice it, what do they mean?

13:31Ant McPartlin:Nice it. Nice it. Pronounce like nice, but with a Z sound. Nice it. Nice it. You've got to kind of, if you're nice in it. Go for it. I think you've got to cut something off. Go for it. You're saying go for it, you're saying? Chop something off. It means they're telling you to be quiet or stop talking.

13:51Declan Donnelly:Nice it. Oh, nice it. Yeah. Like, nice it. Oi, nice it. Nice it. Okay, right. The first time I meet a Canadian.

14:01Ant McPartlin:Hang on, we've got a Canadian over here. It's Nits.

14:05Declan Donnelly:Nits. Nits it Nits it Nits it Okay Do you want to do this quiz? Maybe you should be doing this Stop me Do you want me to read this line? Yeah, come on Come read this line

14:15Ant McPartlin:God, we've got an actual Canadian I've never seen one in real life Whenever I'm talking about

14:21Declan Donnelly:Not being a Canadian You've been sat at the corner Why did you not just speak up? And just go I'm Canadian We've been doing this for three weeks I just kind of wanted to be aloof You know Aloof

14:35Ant McPartlin:she's a spy she's a Canadian spy

14:37Declan Donnelly:I feel so rude I'm talking about having a Canadian can you believe she's on the corner all this time and now she pipes up it's because I talk about all the Canadians about it after see can you hear her voice she's probably Canadian well and then every time I've said well hello there buddy you might have you might have gone oh yeah they do say that they don't say that what do you say just something how would you greet someone in the street Hey there. Hello there.

15:11Declan Donnelly:Oh yeah, makes sense. Oh my God.

15:15Ant McPartlin:Oh my God. This is brilliant. Don't carry on. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Absolutely, I'm here for it. What do the Canadians call a trash panda? Trash panda? Yeah. A trash panda? It's an animal. It's a bear. It's a black bear. It's a Canadian animal. Black bear. A brown bear. We call the raccoons. Ah, raccoon, of course.

15:40Declan Donnelly:Panda, black and white. Okay, how about if you try to wheel? What are you attempting to do?

15:45Ant McPartlin:Try to wheel? Wheel? Yeah. I'm getting out of here.

15:48Declan Donnelly:Yeah, we're leaving. I'm going to split. I'm going to leave. The opposite of what it means. What it means? I'm getting in there. I'm arriving. Yeah, well, you're getting in there with a lady. You're flirting. You're getting in there with a lady? You what? What? What? This slang is not for here, but it's like a prairie slang.

16:06Ant McPartlin:Okay. What is a bunny hug? A bunny hug? Yeah. It's a hug from behind, no? Like a rabbit on another rabbit's back and you have a hug. Is it a sexual position? No.

16:18Declan Donnelly:Well, hold on a second. The last one was about pulling someone in a bar, so I'm just taking this to the next step. Once you've done wheeling, you jump on and have a bunny hug. You have a little bunny hug. yeah make it love it's something you wear it's a hoodie it's a hoodie a hoodie like i guess a jumper for you guys right yeah jumper jumper yeah jumper it's a bunny hug that's all the slang

16:43Ant McPartlin:yeah this gentleman a real live canadian

16:48Declan Donnelly:and there she goes she just walked in front of our camera as well she's now the star of the show I'm back in the corner with you. At any point when we talk about Canada, feel free to chip in, to chirp in. Chirp away, okay? Chirp and chat.

17:04Ant McPartlin:Feel free to chirp and chat. I think we'll get a little top-up of tea and coffee here. Yes, please. And we'll hand back to London, to London Ant & Dec, for this commercial. Back to you, boys. This podcast is sponsored by Santander, who understand that managing money can be overwhelming and building small everyday habits can make it feel manageable. Do you remember holidays when we were younger? Well, I remember the first holidays we went on as mates. That's what I mean. Do you remember those? Like our first trip to Gran Canaria. Yes. First lads holiday we ever went on was Gran Canaria. Me and you, I had to go and get a one-year passport.

17:44Ant McPartlin:Yeah, do you remember that? We didn't have passports, so we went and got a one-year passport. Back in the day, we got a one-year passport.

17:47Declan Donnelly:Can you believe that? One-year passport. Blown your mind. Blown your mind.

17:53Ant McPartlin:But then you thought, well, I'll just get a one-year passport. If I go on holiday next year, I'll just get another one-year passport. Quite why we didn't get 10-year passports. Why don't we just get it?

18:00Declan Donnelly:Probably it was more expensive. Probably. I remember your burned feet.

18:05Ant McPartlin:There was that. That was in Antigua. Yeah.

18:10Declan Donnelly:We had to stay in the room for three days because you burned your feet so badly. Yeah, that wasn't. Because the cream rubbed off. That was a good memory for me. Not so good for you. Not so good for me. Funny for me. Do you know what I do remember, though? the feeling of saving up the money so you could go on the holiday.

18:27Ant McPartlin:Yeah, it makes you feel like an adult. It does. And the fact that you've saved a little bit of money over a long period of time makes it feel really rewarding at the end of it.

18:36Declan Donnelly:Well, that's the thing. Saving little by little can get to a lot. And with Santander, you can do just that. With their regular saver, they'll help you build good saving habits to achieve something that's important to you.

It's a good time to get back into a routine.

19:27Ant McPartlin:You know who's not on a routine?

19:28Declan Donnelly:Who? Rocky the dog.

19:31Ant McPartlin:Oh, really? Yeah. Rocky. Why? He hasn't quite got back into his routine since summer. I think summer kind of not. Is he still mentally on his holidays? Mentally, he's still on his holidays. Right. But he's like waking up in the mornings really early asking for food. Oh, right. Going to bed late, which is not great for my routine. He's 13 now as well. So he's finding it hard, I think, to get back into routine since the summer.

19:55Declan Donnelly:Gemini, I have a 13-year-old dash-hound called Rocky. Oh, my God, so do I. Don't be silly. We need to get Rocky used to not being around us humans as much in the day again after the summer. can you give me a gradual routine please okay there's a schedule go on week one the I forgot my keys phase right yeah so showing Rocky that departures are completely normal and brief so I forgot my keys pop out the room pop back in you haven't forgot your keys no just you don't have to say that week two the pop into the shops phase right that makes sense getting Rocky used to slightly longer solo stretches and lastly, the full re-rehearsal.

20:46Declan Donnelly:So it's all about extending Rocky's alone time and getting his meals and knacks regular. And he loves to nap. Do you ever wonder what dogs do when we're out the room?

20:55Ant McPartlin:Yeah, all the time. What do they get up to?

20:57Declan Donnelly:Or do they just see? Do they watch TV, eat popcorn, like just sit on the sofa?

21:01Ant McPartlin:Actually, that's a good idea. What? Why don't we ask and see if there are activities or things that I can leave him with to fill their time?

21:09Declan Donnelly:Gemini, could you give me some good enrichment activities I could leave for Rocky when we pop out for an hour and a half you've got stuff like there's some examples here thanks Jeremy the frozen lick mat the snuffle mat safari you heard of this? no the soft rubber food pyramid do you know this? no rule of thumb before you leave the house give Rocky his enrichment toy five minutes before you walk out the door if he's already happily focused on licking or sniffing treats he won't even notice the front door click shut.

21:43Ant McPartlin:That's a great call. Download the Gemini app today to unlock the power of Google AI on your phone. Check responses. Set up required, compatibility and availability varies. 18 plus. We have had lots of grumbles. Good. You'd be pleased to know. I like a grumble. Let's get ready to grumble. Come on. Hi, I'm Dec and Headlers.

22:07Declan Donnelly:Hey. Canadian here. Hey. Hey, buddy. Hey. I have a grumble for you. People who take their birthdays very seriously. It's my birthday this week. Is it? Is it? Yeah.

22:24Ant McPartlin:It's my birthday. When? When? 25th of September is my birthday. Tomorrow? Tomorrow. Oh, happy birthday for tomorrow. Happy birthday for tomorrow. Thank you. Oops. Nobody remembered. No, it's because we're in Canada. It's weird. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. That's right. So, technically, it's a birthday almost now, then?

22:40Declan Donnelly:Oh, it'll be your birthday nearly in the UK now.

22:42Ant McPartlin:This evening. Yeah, happy birthday. Thursday evening in Canada, yeah, would be my British birthday. Oh, cool. Happy birthday.

22:50Declan Donnelly:Shall I carry on? Yeah, please. Yeah, carry on. I'm all for a celebration, especially a big round number. But when someone is turning something random, like 27 or, I don't know, 51, and expects you to turn up to events that span across multiple days and want a gift, I have to draw the line. I'm British, so I obviously don't say anything. I begrudgingly go to all of the events. But honestly, you were born. Congrats. But I think you're fine. I think you're fine. We've all been born. That's great. Have your cake and eat it on a big birthday. But all the ones in between, chill out. Respect, guys. Harriet.

23:34Declan Donnelly:That was an excellent grumble, Harriet.

23:36Ant McPartlin:I think you've hit the nail on the head there. Do you agree? Yeah, absolutely. Especially birthdays that continue like over a long weekend or go on for days and days. Or, oh yeah, it was my birthday last Saturday, but I'm doing something the following Saturday and it's just like, mate, no.

23:54Declan Donnelly:When you're a kid, it's fine. It's fine just to celebrate your birthday on more than one day because you might see aunties or uncles on different days or grandmas or nanas on different days. so you get extra presents as the days go on which is quite nice when you're a kid full blown adult yeah come on grow up get over it yeah it's your birthday grow up yeah literally grow up

24:17Ant McPartlin:I agree with you Harriet good grumble good grumble Harriet although it is my birthday this week and might carry it on all weekend just just cause cool okay good for you cool good for you what are you going to do you get yourself out there and do stuff I'm going to go and talk to some Canadians Come on, here from Danny. Oi, oi, boys. Oi, oi, Danny. Oi, oi, Samaloi. Hope I'll find an audience in you two for this grumble. The happy birthday song. What is all that about? What a birthday grumbles this week. There is, isn't there? Is that a coincidence? Yeah, must be a coincidence. Firstly, it's a terrible song.

24:56Declan Donnelly:Oh, all right, Simon Cowell.

24:59Ant McPartlin:It's no need, isn't it? Well, he's going to tell you why. Danny says, everyone starts it too high. In the register. Happy birthday.

25:06Declan Donnelly:Is that too high?

25:07Ant McPartlin:That's too high. No one can get the tune right. Happy birthday to you. He's right. He's right.

25:14Declan Donnelly:Yeah.

25:15Ant McPartlin:It's weirdly long. Yeah. And you have to awkwardly pretend you're surprised the whole way through as people sing it at you. Oh, that's the worst. Also, side note, do you join in? Is that weird if you join in? even worse when people at a restaurant sing it to make the whole restaurant stop and listen don't get me wrong i'm not against communal singing christmas and at the football it's fantastic yeah it's just that song please someone give us another option respect guys danny danny makes a good point danny makes a very good point um there's a lot of questions in there isn't there Yeah. But I think that the central crux of his grumble is a very good one.

25:59Ant McPartlin:I agree. My other thing is everybody always sings it too slow. Yeah, they do. Happy birthday. That's why it takes such a long time. Yeah.

26:09Declan Donnelly:If you're going to do it, you've got to go, happy birthday to you. I have joined in when people have sang it to me before. Have you? Because it makes it less awkward. I feel so awkward when people sing it to you and you're just stood there and there's like a bank of people singing. like what else are you meant to do I know like thanks

26:26Ant McPartlin:I find out I go

26:27Declan Donnelly:thanks guys yeah like you look at the ball thanks thanks thanks thanks so I just go happy birthday to me you always have yours in Australia don't you always have mine in Australia and the crew like to make a big deal and decorate in the office where we where we stay maybe that's what I'm going to get tomorrow oh yeah yeah it's a different crew here remember different crew and the time difference yeah you've got to remember that And Ant's known the Australians for years. I've known the Australians. They're like brothers and sisters. Yeah. So you never know. Yeah. Fingers crossed. Maybe not. He's hoping.

27:03Ant McPartlin:But I've got an alternative. Good grumble though, Danny. Go on, what's your alternative?

27:08Declan Donnelly:Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday. Steve, you wonder?

27:16Ant McPartlin:Yeah, it doesn't really have an ending though. Because that is like three and a half minutes long. The whole song. Just think that bit. You could still start it too high though.

27:23Declan Donnelly:Happy birthday to you. Oh, that's so good to look. Wow. You never knew. It's Lloyd Webber watching this, if you are. Cast me, baby. Cast me. Cast me, Andrew. Cast me. In anything you like.

27:47Declan Donnelly:Oh, God. Cast away.

27:55Ant McPartlin:Oh my God.

27:56Declan Donnelly:We've gone Canadian mad. I want to see with phantom. It's me, you fool. Is that Ant? Because that's a very big mask over the forehead. What's the Canadian word for mad? Chirping. Chirping. Chirping. Chirping again.

28:14Ant McPartlin:Chirping mad. That's mad chirping, that is.

28:16Declan Donnelly:One more grumble. Got one more grumble. Let's have another grumble. Hello. Hello there, buddy. Hello there, buddy. Hello, and team. Hey. Thank you. I have a grumble that I think could be quite unpopular. People born in December. What? It's just we've got a lot going on that month. hitting in another birthday besides Jesus is a bit much. Sorry, in brackets, not sorry, Livy. Well, Livy, I can't agree with you there. My sister Sarah, it's her birthday on December the 10th. And I feel like that's far enough away from Christmas to bother Jesus. And I think Jesus would just be happy for us all, wouldn't he?

29:05Declan Donnelly:He wants us to be happy. That's Jesus' thing, isn't it? that we're all happy that we're all just he's not I don't I don't I don't think Jesus is that bothered about sharing his birthday money about sharing his birthday he'd be more than happy to share his birthday share his bread I don't think

29:21Ant McPartlin:that this grumble is about Jesus I think this is about Livy who can't be bothered because she's having Christmas parties yeah because she's busy she's busy she's having Christmas fun festive fun and she's now she's gonna have to go and celebrate some friends birthdays that's the problem I agree the problem isn't that people's birthdays in December the problem is Livvy can't be bothered with them the problem is Livvy the problem is you

29:44Declan Donnelly:so we're not having that are we having that we're not having that no sorry Livvy bad grumble what do we say for bad grumble brumble brumble bad grumble that's a brumble brumble we're working on that we're working on that what's your favourite grumble then is it the first one

30:00Ant McPartlin:well they're all birthdays they all seem to be birthday themed this week which is yeah they are which is quite the coincidence

30:05Declan Donnelly:is it the happy birthday song or celebrating minor birthdays. I have to go with Happy Birthday song. I would go with Happy Birthday song. Would you?

30:13Ant McPartlin:Yeah.

30:14Declan Donnelly:Happy Birthday song. So why don't you all sing it to you? What are you going to do? Or should we just not sing it? Just don't sing it. Okay, cool. We won't go to that one.

30:19Ant McPartlin:No, but I do want a little blast of

30:22Declan Donnelly:Happy Birthday to... Oh, you got me conscious about it now. That was a good first audition, right? Never go back for the second audition.

30:31Ant McPartlin:Oh, you spilled the coal back.

30:35Declan Donnelly:We've had more Tricks of the Trade. Good. I love this.

30:38Ant McPartlin:Our new favourite item on the pod. If you didn't hear this, we were asking for things that you do at work that the consumer or the customer doesn't know about and if there's any good kind of shortcuts that you can let us in on. We had a good one last week about putting baby powder smells and fresh bread through the air con to make people buy more stuff.

31:03Declan Donnelly:Yeah. Shall we see what this week's is? Yeah. Let's hope they've disguised their voice so they keep their anonymity. Here we go.

31:11Ant McPartlin:I heard your feature, Tricks of the Trade, and I thought, I've got to get involved. I'm a greenkeeper at a golf club, and here's my little secret. If the golfers start getting on our nerves, for example, not raking bunkers, or they're not repairing their pitch marks, the next time we change the pin position will make them extra difficult on purpose. No way. It's nothing personal, but it's just a little bit of greenkeeper revenge. So if you've ever wondered why that flag suddenly seems to be sitting on the hardest bit of the green imaginable, now you know. Respect, guys.

31:49Declan Donnelly:Respect to you, anonymous greenkeeper. I knew it.

31:53Ant McPartlin:The amount of times we played golf and you get up to the green, that pin is ridiculous. Yeah. You can't put in that. It's ridiculous. That's the hardest pin on the green.

32:00Declan Donnelly:And you joke, don't you? You go, who's annoyed the greenkeeper? It's true. It's us.

32:05Ant McPartlin:We've done it. Golfers. I think that is a bit unfair, though, because I've just turned up for my round. It's all the guys before me that haven't been raking bunkers. Yeah, exactly. And I'm paying the price for it.

32:15Declan Donnelly:Yeah, it's not the same golfers paying the course day after day after day. No. And he's like, it's nothing personal. Well, it is. He said, I'm getting our own bag for you who's not raking the bunkers. That's very personal.

32:25Ant McPartlin:It is quite personal.

32:26Declan Donnelly:It's really personal.

32:27Ant McPartlin:Oh.

32:29Declan Donnelly:That's just angered us.

32:31Ant McPartlin:Yeah. I had suspected it though. I always say hello to the greenkeepers when I play golf. I do. Not anymore. Flick the bird. Not anymore. That's a good trick of the trade. That is good. Very good. If you've got any tricks of the trade, get them into us. We will change your voice and your name to protect the innocent. But let us know any tricks of the trade, any behind the scenes secrets, hanging out at battlebox.com and we'll let the world know.

32:56Declan Donnelly:I really want fast food tricks of the trade. because I think we talked about this on the first one when we brought this up. But there's a rumor or is it a myth that if you buy a small, medium or large drink at certain fast food joints, the medium and the large are the same size. Just more ice. There's just more ice and they pour it in. Once you pour it in, because it's taller, the medium is wider, but the tall is taller. But it's the same volume of liquid in both things.

33:29Ant McPartlin:But you got charged more for a large.

33:31Declan Donnelly:But you get charged more for a large. Cheeky. And medium fries and large fries, you get the same. Or small fries and large fries, you get the same amount of fries. No. The box is bigger. Get out of here. Well, that's what I want to get to the bottom of. I don't believe you. No, I'm not telling you that's a fact. This is not my tricks of the trade. But this is what people, that's the rumor that's been going around for years. So I'd like to get to the bottom of it. So if you do work in a fast food joint, get in touch. Get in touch. Let us know all the tricks of the trade. So Green Gear has moved the flag to get revenge on the golfers.

34:02Declan Donnelly:Ever knew? Never knew. Never knew. Always suspected. Now, you know, we played Gage the Age a couple of weeks ago. I love that game. I thought we could play it again because it's gone down very well. People are enjoying Gage the Age. They're playing it themselves.

34:18Ant McPartlin:Yes.

34:19Declan Donnelly:I've got some birthdays. Birthdays. I've got them written down. Got some ages. If I horsed it, which I'm very happy to do, honestly. You versus Fiola? Yeah, let's do it. Fiona, you can confer with the rest of the team. Oh, great. Thank you. Yeah? So we can have Fiona and Canadian Lady if you want to work together. I'd love it, yeah. Canadian Lady. I don't know your name. Riley. Riley. Fiona and Riley. Good name. Fiona and Riley, do you want to work as a team? Yes, please. Against deck? Yeah. All right, I'll get them. Okay. Yeah, come sit here. You've been checking out the press of late, have you?

34:52Declan Donnelly:No, I have not. Right. I'm going to do not today because I thought you might have seen newspapers or anything online right so I'll do tomorrow September the 25th is that a good day for you all well that's that's a bug standard day isn't it that's a really yeah just a normal normal day yeah is that good yeah

35:13Ant McPartlin:so it is it's also my birthday yeah cool that's good

35:18Declan Donnelly:yeah yeah just in case you keep saying that

35:20Ant McPartlin:I can't remember if I mentioned it or not

35:22Declan Donnelly:look at me My birthday is November. Yeah, my birthday is November. Big rule. Right, gauge the age. September the 25th edition. Yes! Fiona and Riley, are you ready? Yes. Deck, are you ready? Yes.

35:34Ant McPartlin:Is this my birthday edition or just?

35:36Declan Donnelly:September the 25th edition. Right. So the rules are simple. I'm going to give you a celebrity. You're going to tell me what age you think they're turning tomorrow, September the 25th. I'm going to write down your score. And whoever is the least out at the end of these eight celebrities, will win. Understood? Understood. Okay, first up, the Fresh Prince, Will Smith, is turning what age on the 25th of September? I think so. Okay. Yeah. If anything, I think a little older. Fiona and Riley? 59. 59. Okay, what are you saying, Dad? 57. 57 57 so if one of you gets it spot on you'll hear this noise woo woo woo but you won't be hearing that noise because neither of you got it spot on he will be turning 58 tomorrow both of you are one out one out there's no points

36:40Ant McPartlin:both get one point but you want to get the smallest score it's like a golf score

36:45Declan Donnelly:you want it to be as low as possible understood yeah next also an actor Bella Ramsey from The Last of Us which you still haven't watched have you? No I haven't Doesn't like zombies I don't like zombies You won't watch anything with zombies in No Just a little deck fact for you there Make me anxious When you're compiling deck facts at home in your scrapbooks Doesn't like zombies Likes Dislikes

37:12Ant McPartlin:Dislikes zombies Likes schnitzel Canadian beer Dislikes zombies

37:19Declan Donnelly:and Beaver Tails Bella Ramsey's turn on what? Dex turn 23 20 that now has been one of you you cheered Riley like you were spot on I'm so excited it's a good game though isn't it? you could host the Canadian version

37:41Declan Donnelly:one of you is spot on Bella Ramsey tomorrow on the 25th of September will be turning 23. Yes! Declan was spot on. So it's four plays one. Yes. Good start for the birthday boy tomorrow. Also, another actor. We have played golf with this lady. Well, she played golf on our show. Oh. It is Catherine Zeta-Jones, Welsh actor. How old is she? Martin and Michael Douglas. Yes.

38:18Ant McPartlin:Their turn and go first.

38:20Declan Donnelly:Their turn and go. The Darling Buds of May. Do you remember the Darling Buds of May? I do remember that. Did you still like it?

38:24Ant McPartlin:No, not particularly. It wasn't for me, really. It wasn't made for you. No, it wasn't for me. It wasn't made for you.

38:28Declan Donnelly:But it was well loved. I'm going to have to push you, because we really don't have time for this. 60. Yes. Declan, how old is Catherine Zeta-John's tomorrow? I think she is... 59. Neither of you are spot on. She will be turning 57 tomorrow. So the scores are Fiona and Riley, seven, deck three. Next, American actor. A lot of actors.

38:58Ant McPartlin:I've got a lot of birthday twins that are actors. You have? I used to be an actor myself, you know. You can't see me.

39:06Declan Donnelly:The original Jedi, Mark Hamill. I didn't know he was my birthday twin. You see, you've got an advantage because you would have looked in the paper over the years to see these people. Yeah, but I don't look at how old they are. So you're going first, Dec. How old is Mark Hamill, Luke Skywalker, tomorrow? Today? He is... Just to remind you, we are shooting a show here in Canada and we need to get a move on. He is 68. 68. We said 65. Mark Hamill? No woo, no woo, guys. No woo. I mean, you're way off a woo. Mark Hamill tomorrow Luke Skywalker I can't believe it he's 75 looks good doesn't he 75 they're 10 out they're 10 out and 7 out so 10 for Dec and 17 for Fiona and Riley how many we got to go you've got 4 to go you're halfway through we're halfway through the birthday celebration oh my god Well, you know, my God.

40:13Ant McPartlin:I thought we nearly finished. I thought I nearly won.

40:17Declan Donnelly:If you guys don't take so long guessing, we'll make it a much better quiz for the listener. We'll require it. We'll require it. Rosalia, Spanish singer-songwriter. Known for her incredible world tour last year and a very good album, Rosalia's album. How old is Rosalia? Do we start? I would say she's one of the most exciting female singers around. Agreed. Wouldn't you? Yeah. And I would say she's 31

40:46Declan Donnelly:Fiona was really Sassy then I made that up though So don't you just copy it 31

40:54Ant McPartlin:28

41:00Declan Donnelly:What's the Leah? It's 34 You've clawed some back there So get your 6 out There are 3 out You've clawed some back there ladies well done so at the moment with only three to go you're 20 out Fiona and Riley and deck you're 16 out it's close between us four points between you next Donald Glover also known as singer Childish Gambino will be turning 30 5 35 39 there's no woos nobody's spot on Donald's got a tricky one ain't it yeah like how old is childish Gambino can't put an age on him we're about to find out

41:51Ant McPartlin:we're about to find out

41:54Declan Donnelly:he's 43 oh no he'll be 43 on his birthday on the 25th of September so that means it's a tie I do have two more to go but as it's a tie this is exciting so I'm just going to give you one more okay

42:07Ant McPartlin:what are we both on now You're both on 24. So this is the last one. This is the decider.

42:12Declan Donnelly:This is the decider. And it's them to go first. And it's you to go first. And it's very apt. I did not know this, but Catherine Zeta-Jones' husband is... Michael Douglas. They share the same birthday. It's also his birthday. But how old is Michael Douglas today? Riley and Fiona. 67. 67

42:44Declan Donnelly:That was a quick answer I think it's a wrong answer 70

42:545

42:55Declan Donnelly:75 You're both way out He is older than his wife Do you remember he was older when they met?

43:03Ant McPartlin:Well we know she's 57 and 67 and 75 is still older than Catherine Zeta-Jones, just so you know.

43:10Declan Donnelly:Yeah, but a lot older. A lot older. Michael Douglas will be turning on the 25th of September, 82 years old! Oh, yay! Which means Declan is the winner on this special September the 25th edition!

43:30Ant McPartlin:Happy birthday to me.

43:34Declan Donnelly:See, it's easier when you sing it to yourself, isn't it? I told you. Oh, wow. 82. Well done. That was, that's all we've got time for on Gage the Age. Thank you, Declan. Thank you, Fiona. And thank you, Canadian Riley.

43:47Ant McPartlin:Join us next time for another Gage the Age.

43:50Declan Donnelly:We'll see you. Good night.

43:54Declan Donnelly:That was good, wasn't it? Enjoyed that. We love Gage the Age. Another letter here on the iPad, which I'm going to read out here. Hi, I'm Deccan. Hi. Hey. Hey, ho. Hey, ho. Hey, now. Hey, Dan. Hello there, everybody. I'm afraid I found him again. Oh, what? Went to Costco. What? Went to Costco and imagine my surprise when I spotted Ant vlogging school cakes again. I know times are tough, but Christ, Ant. Window cleaner, delivery driver, baker, plumber. I said, no, they're good. They've got it all down. Yeah. And apparently now, Mr. Whitty shifting trays of school cake in bulk. I've attached photographic evidence.

44:33Declan Donnelly:Lots of love, Leanne. Dec, I'm still looking for you, doppelganger. My mission goes on. Respect, guys. Let's have a look.

44:40Ant McPartlin:Look, there he is. Oh, my gosh. There he is, look at that. 16 school cakes. Oh, my gosh. Mr. Whibby. Mr. Whibby.

44:48Declan Donnelly:That's the one that looks most like me, I reckon. Yeah, that's so, so similar. That was me when I was young. That was me in my 20s. It's so good. It's so similar, isn't it?

44:56Ant McPartlin:I'll tell you what as well, that looks like a lovely cake. You'd like that cake, wouldn't you? Oh, that school cake. Do you remember that school cake? which is sponge with a bit of strawberry on the top on hundreds and thousands. You used to like that, don't you? That and a bit of custard.

45:06Declan Donnelly:Oh, yes. That'd be a nice for your birthday, wouldn't it? Yeah, bad shame we weren't back alone. I'd be thrilled with that. Stick a candle in that and give it to me. Stick a candle in that. Speaking of cakes, I've got more correspondence. Oh, good. Have a listen to this. Hi, guys. I've been catching up on the podcast and each week reminds me of another 90s memory. Nice. I recently listened to the episode where someone said they had your faces on their birthday cake. Oh, yeah, yeah. That was really early on.

45:33Ant McPartlin:And that was a very young birthday cake, if I remember.

45:35Declan Donnelly:Well, so did I. Here is a pic of my 15th birthday cake from 1997. What? Hope you enjoy, and I'm loving the podcast. It keeps me company in the gym. Love, Steph. Hi, Steph. There you go, look. Look at that. That is brilliant. Oh, gosh, look at that. Wow, oh, wow. Look at the Ant and Dex there. The cult of Ant and Dex. That's taken from our third album, third least least selling least successful album The Colour of Ant & Dec Happy Birthday Happy Birthday Steph Look at that Wow Lovely Could you eat your own face? Yes I have no problem with that You've got no problem with eating your own face? No problem with that Eat my face!

46:15Ant McPartlin:Could you eat my face? Yes Gladly I think it's a good one of you

46:21Declan Donnelly:What? The size of me eyes? Yeah Why isn't that so good of you?

46:25Ant McPartlin:Well I look like I could be a panellist on Loose Women yeah you do look very girly I don't know which one of these women but just one of them

46:33Declan Donnelly:hello says our next correspondent big fan of the pod and you both for years in fact so much that when my mum who would diligently make me decorate birthday cakes for me and my three siblings asked what I wanted for my tenth birthday cake I asked for you two as I was an avid fan of Saturday Night Takeaway I don't think either of you look very relaxed here Mum still says this was the most challenging and hilarious one she did in 20 years' birthday cake making. Love it in the new pods. Respect, guys. Ellie from Skipton, North Yorkshire.

47:06Ant McPartlin:Oh, hi, Ellie. Thank you for that.

47:07Declan Donnelly:Well, I can't wait to see this one. Whoa! Whoa! Oh, Ellie's mum. What the heck? Ellie's mum. Ellie's mum. No wonder it was challenging. What is that?

47:24Ant McPartlin:what the hell is that if you're just listening i don't know how to describe that it's a was your mom really a cake decorator no that's not i've seen better skills i i have to

47:37Declan Donnelly:say maybe maybe it's us i we're partly to blame for this but our faces are clearly very hard to

47:44Ant McPartlin:do would you eat my face there yeah i still would yeah i still would i still would it's creepy is what it is.

47:51Declan Donnelly:I don't really like birthday cakes. I like a fruitcake. You know that. I know that. You know I like a fruitcake. Hi, boys. Remember a few months ago, a listener said they had a birthday cake with your faces on and you couldn't get your heads around it? Yeah. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah. That's what we're talking about. Well, as it's Deck's birthday this week. Thank you for remembering. That's nice. We thought in order for you to fully understand the appeal of an Ant and Deck birthday cake, it's only right you tried one for yourselves. Happy birthday, Deck. Love the hecklers. happy birthday everybody sing at him happy birthday to you happy birthday dear Jack happy birthday to you you did remember of course we did oh look at that it's very green isn't it

48:41Ant McPartlin:it is very green look at that can you see that that's nice isn't it

48:46Declan Donnelly:that's a nice birthday cake Hold on, let me take a photo. I'll take a photo for you because they never share their photos. That's nice. Right, cut it open. What are them things on the side of it? Chocolate. Just chocolate little scrolls. Oh, lovely. What flavour is it, Hecklas? It's chocolate. Yeah, my favourite. Look how happy he is. Look at how happy you've made him on his birthday. We didn't forget your birthday, you silly sausage. you silly goose you silly goose

49:21Ant McPartlin:thank you happy birthday thank you very much so to finish off this week should we do some questions from the get sliced in then I was going to say should we do some questions from the broadcast channel yeah while I cut the cake yes if you do the questions I'll cut the cake good idea remember if you want to get involved in this part of the show then join our broadcast channel on Instagram and get involved I'll cut the cake okay

49:45Declan Donnelly:first question what um from mellixnotyou says would you ever go ghost hunting yeah i think i would would you yeah you go with me mom she likes all that my mom likes going on ghost hunts she does quite a lot of them around the northeast she does right yeah i didn't realize she goes on them yeah and i had to buy her this thing where you point it in the dark room it's like a camera and then if there's a ghost or a spirit in the room, it pops up on the screen like a little stick man figure. She's constantly... Sounds legit. I let you tell her. You little shit. But yeah, she goes, I'm a bit like, I don't know.

50:32Declan Donnelly:Would I go on one? Yeah, I would. We should do it and film it. That would be good. We should do...

50:37Ant McPartlin:I think that's being done.

50:38Declan Donnelly:No, but we should do it. Yeah, it doesn't matter though. We could just go to a really, what's meant to be haunted place. Yeah. we can call it hanging out with Ant, Dec and the ghosts.

50:47Ant McPartlin:Hanging out, hanging out with the ghoulies. Hanging out with the ghoulies. The ghoulies are hanging out.

50:54Declan Donnelly:Can we do that? Yeah. We could do little hanging out spin-offs on YouTube. Yeah, we could. Where we just film ourselves like doing overnight stuff like that. Great. It's like keep going. Yeah, keep going. How small are these slices? Well, there's lots of bits. Who are you giving kids to? Mice? We can have two bits. I don't know how I've done this. I don't know how you've done it I've got a lot of icing Milana Genchi says what's the best piece of advice you've ever received?

51:22Ant McPartlin:I've had two two slices of cake? no two bits of advice oh okay go on consistently good work done over a long period of time will never go unnoticed yes and the second one well come on

51:35Declan Donnelly:and who did you get it from? that was from

51:36Ant McPartlin:our executive producer on Saturday mornings a guy called Connor McAnally yeah and he said that to us and he says you've just got to get your head down got to work hard every week consistently good work don't have a long period of time does not go on that's when nobody was watching the show it's true we had zero well not zero ratings but the ratings were really low and he's like no we've just got to carry on keep doing our best and look what happened it's true a very good bit of advice the other one I saw on the internet and it was if you're going to fail fail big and fail doing it on your terms so be happy with If you're happy with a thing or a project that you're doing and you've done it to the best of your ability and the best of your conviction and it still fails, at least you did it doing something you believe in.

52:21And also aim big and go for it.

52:24Ant McPartlin:And if it doesn't work, at least you failed big. Yeah. I think I deserve some cream for that.

52:29Declan Donnelly:There's a really good bit of advice I heard where it's about control. If you're not in control of something, don't worry about it. Yeah. So if you've got a problem in your life, just ask yourself this. Can I control the outcome? If you can, don't worry about it because you can control it. So you can do something about it. So you don't have to worry about it. You just have to take action. If you can't control it, don't worry about it because you can't control it. Don't control it. So I suppose the big overarching thing is worrying about anything is pointless. you either take action or you don't take action the worrying part just fills you with anxiety it makes you it ruins your day and doesn't let you be at one with everything that's good in your life so worrying it's pointless

53:23Ant McPartlin:as Bobby McFerrin would say don't worry be happy that's a good bit of advice it is a very good bit of advice

53:30Declan Donnelly:that looks good this cake yeah have I done a good job yeah I've done a good job Shall I keep going while Stuart are putting these out on the table? Stuart 0705 says, is there something you can't have in dressing rooms? Like smells or lights or whatever?

53:46Ant McPartlin:That's a good question, Stuart. It is a very good question, Stuart. I can't bear overwhelming fragrances, especially diffusers with big reeds coming out of them. And you know, sometimes they're too big for the room and you go and you go, oh my God. I put them outside in the corridor. I can't bear it. I'm not great with overpowering smells. Even like with people's perfume and aftershave, if it's too strong, really turns me off. Turns you off from what? Like getting off with them. That would suggest I'm walking around turned on. It would. It really makes me funny.

54:26Declan Donnelly:I hate, do you know what I don't like? What I can't have. And I always switch off the big light. Oh yeah. I'm a big believer in lighting in houses, in hotels, in dressing rooms. Should be subtle. It should always be subtle because I think it affects your mood. And I also think like during the, in the daytime, when the sun shined brightly, being out in that midday sun is too much. I always prefer sunrise, sunset, or that kind of dusky, when the shadows on the ground, when you can see light coming through trees. it's all about light for me so if the big light's on switch it off get a lamp on right are we going to eat this cake or are you going to keep cutting it for like to the end of time jeez that's all one plate and I've got a plate for you what are you going to do hand that around yeah

55:18Ant McPartlin:well are we going to eat something and I'll watch yeah well come on then come on then last question right oh well make it a good one give it your best shot

55:25Declan Donnelly:well give us one of these I'll have what's that your mouth Ah, it's like I'm kissing him. BB 1979 says, worst meal you've ever had at a friend's house, family's house, or celebrity's house. That's very critical, isn't it? Oh, yeah. Your worst meal I've ever had. You've got to eat cake while you do it. It's like Hot Ones, but with cake. Where the cake gets increasingly more sickly over time. That's good cake. Well, do you make this, Riley? No. Didn't you? Shame. What time does this shop open? They start at 8am. That's proper frosting on there. Nice, isn't it? Yeah. Have you had some yet? No. Has he not passed it around?

56:10Declan Donnelly:You've got to pass the plate on.

56:11Ant McPartlin:Oh, right. Aidan, take one, pass it on.

56:13Declan Donnelly:Worst meal I've ever had at a friend.

56:16Ant McPartlin:I can't think of a bad meal at a celebrity's house. We always have good meals at Simon Cowell's house because he's got a brilliant chef. Yeah, Jeff the chef. Good sausages around there.

56:25Declan Donnelly:Yeah, good sausage rolls.

56:29Declan Donnelly:bit of a weird question because I don't really go around thinking uber critical things about people that they're cooking well you can say that's your answer you've never you've never had one well I probably have had one but that's not what sticks in my mind you know I don't go oh god that was a terrible meal can you believe it we're never going to go back there again I'm never going around to Fiona and Riley's again it's just so awful all this service was called Beaver Tail. Was your Beaver Tail called? Mine too. Yeah, yeah. I'm going to say the Beaver Tail from today. And I don't think it was a very good introduction to Canadian snacks.

57:06Declan Donnelly:It's true. Riley's nodding her head. Yeah. Riley, me and you, let's get ourselves to Beaver Town. Is that a piece of it's come?

57:15Ant McPartlin:Right. That's all we've got time for. That's all we've got time for

57:17Declan Donnelly:on this special birthday edition. Yay! Yeah, which it is. It's next birthday. So happy birthday. Happy birthday. Thank you. That'll do you, won't it? Yay! That's all you want? That's all I want. That's all you want. Not really a big believer in birthdays.

57:29Ant McPartlin:No, I don't care. Apart from Jesus. I want to go home and have cuddles with my children. That's what I want to do. That's all we've got time for.
