0:06Anthony McPartlin:Hello everybody. Hi guys. Welcome back to The Hangout for another hanging out with him and me. This is, as you can see, the Discussion Jar. The Discussion Jar has made a return. Got lots of topics in there that you have sent in. We'll be very interested to delve into that in a bit. Got a question for you though. Yes, come on. Have you finished all your Easter eggs yet?

0:27Declan Donnelly:Well, yes. I finished mine this weekend yeah I kept one every night I'm a Celebrity South Africa was on yeah I had one because my kids get loads of Easter eggs and they never eat them they don't really eat them so I'm like I'll have them normally I'll melt them down and make a chocolate covered cornflake cake but I didn't do that this year I just watched I'm a Celebrity South Africa I watched myself on telly eating an Easter egg every night out the fridge out the fridge

0:53Anthony McPartlin:yourself finished them this weekend yeah what do you go for cranberries G. G. G.

1:01Declan Donnelly:Finished with a little Freddo this weekend. Oh, yeah, good one. Nice little ones. Yeah. Where do you draw the line? What do you mean? So I'll start with Calvary's. Then obviously, you know I love Galaxy. That's second, right? But then I'll also go like, you know, Kit Katz and Roundtree's, Mars. Oh, yeah. I'll go there. Anything after that, it's a no from me. A Thornton's?

1:22Anthony McPartlin:Nope. Why? Too fancy?

1:24Declan Donnelly:No, it's not. It's not too fancy. Hotel Chocolat? Absolutely not. Why not? No way. Too posh. Too posh. I don't want posh chocolate. I want just your normal, an egg that you can get from a supermarket. That's what I want. None of your posh stuff. Man of the people. Man of the people. Yeah, exactly. I like working class chocolate. Successful this guy is. Working class chocolate. Is that a thing? Make a hashtag. Should we delve into the discussion jar? If you haven't seen a discussion jar episode yet, basically, we flip it open and get a topic out and discuss it. That's it. They've been sent in by you lot.

2:00Declan Donnelly:I'll pop it open and let's get started. It'll all become apparent if you don't understand what's going on. Okay. Whoo. We're straight in with a hefty one, aren't we? Straight in with a zinger. Have you heard that Noah's Ark might have been discovered? Yes, I have heard this.

2:17Anthony McPartlin:Yes, I have heard this.

2:19Declan Donnelly:Ancient rocks on Mount Arat, Turkey, first discovered in 1959 were thought to be Noah's Ark. I've heard this. It's been around for a while. There's images of what looks like the remnants of an ark on the top of the mountain, Mount Arad. But recent investigations using the ground-penetrating radar by Andrew Jones has uncovered corridors below the earth adding further weight to the idea that this could be Noah's Ark. Discuss.

2:47Anthony McPartlin:Well, also in the Bible, this area is where they said that the Ark was left when the floods subsided.

2:57Declan Donnelly:See, I'm a great believer in this. I have seen this and I know that there's lots of LIDAR and radar being used on loads of stuff at the minute, like the Great Pyramids and the rainforests down the Amazon and they found lots of extraordinary things where ancient civilizations, we're back to that again,

3:15Anthony McPartlin:we're back to them guys, may have lived. Yeah, the latest is they've been using radars, I think, and they've seen that below the ground and inside of the area, inside of the outline, there is like corridors and rooms where the animals and the families would have gone. Possibly. It's great. I love it. Have you heard the theory? I mean, I don't know if I should discuss this because it's just, it's not come out of the discussion jar. It's a sidewinder. Go on. That August the 12th this year, 7.30am, there will be a solar eclipse. Oh, good. I like solar eclipse. But at 7.30 in the morning... Talk to me again.

3:55Anthony McPartlin:At 7.30... It's because it's my fact. At 7.30 in the morning, we are going to lose gravity for seven seconds.

4:02Declan Donnelly:How can we lose gravity? Because gravity, the greater the gravity is the bigger the mass of the object, the greater the gravity, yes? Yes. Greg, are we all agreed on that? Yeah. Is that something we're all taught in school? So how do we suddenly lose the mass of the Earth for seven seconds?

4:18Anthony McPartlin:I don't know the ins and outs. Can you Google Project Anchor? NASA are involved in this. Of course it is, NASA. Go on, how does it work? There is absolutely no evidence to suggest that the Earth is going to lose gravity on the 12th of August, nor is there any public record that NASA is working on something called Project Anchor. This is an example of disinformation that has been spread across social media in an attempt to put fake news out there. It may be that someone wanted to discredit NASA by publishing incorrect stories about them. Boasts by those who believed the stories and shared it themselves are an example of misinformation spreading fake news by mistake.

4:57Declan Donnelly:So basically you are fake news. Declan Donnelly is fake news. He doesn't exist.

5:03Anthony McPartlin:Oh, well, it reels me in.

5:05Declan Donnelly:See? That's how easy we're fooled these days. It's true though. Because I was going to say something else. There is, I'm sure there's evidence that people have found in the Grand Canyon that resembles like Egyptian artifacts in the Grand Canyon. But since then, you're not allowed to go down. There's loads of caves under there and stuff. And there's loads of things that look like what you would find in Egypt, but in North America. But since then, the Smithsonian Museum has like bought it all and hid it all. Why would you do that? Ah, because they don't want to tell us the real truth, Declan. That's why.

5:40Anthony McPartlin:The truth is out there, but it's been hidden from our eyes. Yeah. By fake news. just wait till we lose gravity and everything comes out from the museum they can't stop it when we lose gravity hold on to your hats folks somebody's sneaking

5:57Declan Donnelly:no somebody's sneaking open the windows and then everything will fly out for seven seconds grab it

6:02Anthony McPartlin:Ian asks hi Ian what's your thoughts on whether Elvis or Michael Jackson are alive or dead discuss

6:08Declan Donnelly:we've discussed the same way we've got it I think we have throw it away

6:11Anthony McPartlin:throw it away sorry Ian go back and listen to the other

6:13Declan Donnelly:Ian I do apologise because I think Dec had that last time and he must have put it back in the jaw. Sorry. When what you're meant to do is either put it through the basket or put it on the desk.

6:23Anthony McPartlin:Dane DeHewitt asks, what do you think deja vu is? I like to think it's your brain catching up with the alternate timeline version of you and your life. And it's letting you know that you're on the right path. What do you think?

6:40Declan Donnelly:Well, I don't get as much deja vu as I used to as when I was a kid. So when I was a kid, I felt like I got deja vu all the time. I've just had deja vu. Yeah. I used to do that a lot. Did you? Yeah. You have it less as you get older. So it's something to do with being born into this new body, this new life, this new timeline, I think. Because there's a theory. What about yourself?

7:01Anthony McPartlin:Well, there's a theory, isn't there, that time is a man-made thing. Yeah. And that actually everything has happened all at the same time. Yes. and deja vu is you seeing bits of things that have already happened. That... I don't believe that. I don't believe in that. I don't believe that.

7:23Declan Donnelly:No, but if you think of... If time is a man-made construct, right? So forget that we've ever had a clock, that we've ever had a calendar, that you just wake up when the sun rises and you go to sleep when the sun sets forever and ever and ever. It just keeps happening. and the younger you are, the less defined you are by time.

7:41Anthony McPartlin:Yes.

7:42Declan Donnelly:And the more open your mind is. So you would be open to the possibility of seeing your other timelines, wouldn't you? Because by your sheer innocence of being youthful, you are more open-minded. So that's probably why it happens to you more as a kid. So I do believe in it. I do believe that there's lots of different timelines happening all at once.

8:04Anthony McPartlin:Do you think the older we get, the more we've been conditioned? to fit into society. Yes, I do. Yeah.

8:11Declan Donnelly:I think the older you get, the more we just agree and whether you verbally agree or you just agree by the fact, the fact that you just do, you go to work, you get paid money, you rent a house or you get a mortgage. Pay your taxes. Pay your taxes. You do all of these agreements that happen throughout your life and everybody else does them. So you do them and you go along and then we die. But if you take all of that away, imagine how freeing that would be for your mind and how open you would be to everything. It's got deep real quick. It has, isn't it? I like it. This is a good discussion jar this week.

8:47Declan Donnelly:Another one? Yes, please. Is it me? I think it's you. Oh my God. Deja vu. I'm going to drop this discussion jar. Bye. Ooh. In the glasses. Calabarials.

9:03Anthony McPartlin:See if they work for you.

9:04Declan Donnelly:See. Oh my God, that's so much better. Abby asks, Tony and Dec, right? Do you know what?

9:11Anthony McPartlin:Oh, you should have put your glasses up on that.

9:13Declan Donnelly:Do you know what? That? Oh, once you wear them, you can't not wear them. Yeah, I know. Tony and Dec. Put them on. My head's a bit bigger than yours. What's your opinion on Bigfoot? We talked about this, didn't we?

9:26Anthony McPartlin:Eh, eh, I've just lost Deja Vu.

9:27Declan Donnelly:Oh my God, it's Deja Vu.

9:29Anthony McPartlin:Has anybody taken anything out of this?

9:31Declan Donnelly:Last year, my hyperfix station was watching Bigfoot evidence videos and listening to Bigfoot Podcast. Yeah, we talked about this. Hey, I've just had deja vu. Ah, here you go. Thanks. You've got to do another one. Oh, yeah. What's that? What? Pink thing. Ah. There's an item in there. Is this to be discussed? Yeah. Do you know what this is? Is it for eyelashes? Yes, it is for eyelashes. Is that, well, is that, is that, that's it? It's a discussion jar and this is in there. So we have to discuss this. I've never understood. To curl your eyelashes. Why do you want them curled? Because it looks prettier.

10:06Declan Donnelly:Is that what it is? Yeah. Isn't it? And you can put mascara in them better. I live in a house full of three girls, so I know these things. I reckon I've got quite long eyelashes for a boy. You could curl my eyelashes. Don't pull them off. How do you do it? You just put my eyelashes in there. Do you? I don't know. Out of everything we've done on the podcast, if this is the one thing that gets clipped up and goes viral, I'm going to be furious.

10:30Anthony McPartlin:I don't know how I'm doing it.

10:32Declan Donnelly:I hope my eyelashes in. Is he doing it right? Why are you squatting like that? Because I need to get a good look.

10:41Declan Donnelly:Jesus. Could she get any closer? Well, I have to get in, don't I? Get what? Don't speak like that.

10:52Declan Donnelly:It's right. Why are you breathing so heavily? Jesus. I don't trust you. What do you mean? Right. Right. I'm going to go out. Is it going out? Watch me eyelid. Watch me eyelid. Don't get me eyelid. Did it get me eyelid? Is it in? Oh. Oh, God. Oh, my God. Right now, cool. Has it curled? Does it look good? Has it curled? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.

11:15Anthony McPartlin:Did I do it right?

11:16Declan Donnelly:Did you?

11:17Anthony McPartlin:Did I get me on quite curly?

11:18Declan Donnelly:I'd never let you do my makeup. You're very menacing.

11:22Anthony McPartlin:Thank God, Claude, I'll make a lot of stuff

11:24Declan Donnelly:that doesn't stand over me like that.

11:25Anthony McPartlin:Oh, that's cool. You have to have a steady hand for that, don't you? Yeah, you don't. And you people do it on themselves? Yes.

11:31Declan Donnelly:I don't know how sure I could do my own that's quite far away was it? you've got to get right in there don't you? stick them straight in is it in there now? oh yeah it's pulling there you go I can't believe that was mine

11:49Anthony McPartlin:the 2012 end of the world actually happened theory

11:54Declan Donnelly:this is a massive wind up on us get rid of it We've done all these.

12:03Anthony McPartlin:Right. How do you use emojis?

12:10Anthony McPartlin:Do they show your age? How do I use them? How do you use emojis?

12:15Declan Donnelly:I do the typical dad one all the time. Thumbs, thumbs, thumbs, thumbs. Just to wind up the girls. They're like, oh, it's a typical dad thing they put back. It's like, yeah, I'm going to do it more.

12:23Anthony McPartlin:My most, you know, you've got your most used emojis at the beginning of your... Right, what's your top left? Crying, laughing face. What's yours? Angry face with swear words on the mouth, look. Next one. Thumb. Next one. Cry and laughing. Next one. Party hat. Next one. Thumb. Next one. Eye roll. Next one. Love heart. Ah. Next one. Face blast.

12:57Declan Donnelly:Next one, picking through fingers like that. Hot eyes. Why have I got a cucumber sliced up? Is that even a... Oh, is it a pickle? Look. Is that a pickle? I don't ever remember using that ever. That's a new emoji. I've never seen that one before. I don't go that far along the emoji trail. Hold on, what's that? A mermaid? Since when they... A genie coming out of a lamp. That's new, isn't it? No. No? It's not? No. All right. You've never gone further than the first. I've never gone further than the ones I use all the time. Oh, my God, like Tinkerbell. Where? There, next to Aladdin. I'm sending you them now.

13:38Declan Donnelly:Where is that? Oh, yeah. You say it, Poseidon. I've just got to say more ones I see every day. That's new, innit? Getting your nails done?

13:46Anthony McPartlin:No, that's real. Is that real? What? Is it? So, conclusion, do emojis show your age? Yes.

13:53Declan Donnelly:to emojis show your ears. Yes, and I feel very old now. Or lazy, because I just haven't scored past that first page. If I can't sum it up in the top left-hand corner of my recent emojis, it's not worth summing up.

14:05Anthony McPartlin:I don't know why I'd use half of those emojis. Why you would? In what situation would you send a mermaid? Or a genie? I don't know.

14:15Declan Donnelly:The genie maybe, which is my command, but I don't get how a mermaid is the response to any question other than can you send me a emoji? To decorate things. Yeah, it's fun, yeah. To decorate things. Yeah, like happy birthday. Happy birthday. I love to say happy birthday, Jackie. He's a moan. Okay. Let's have another one. The Avril Lavigne was replaced by a body double. We've done this. We've done this. You're winding me up, you lot. How do you use emojis? We've literally just done it. Oh, my God. What is going on? Richard asks, Do you think some celebs have been cloned? Some people claim that Kevin Hart's serious car crash, he was somehow replaced or cloned afterwards.

14:59Declan Donnelly:Have we done this? We've kind of done this. Okay, let's not do it then. With Paul McCartney and Avril Lavigne. Let's not do it. Should you walk faster when you're in a city? Great question. Now we're back on track. Yes, you should. What do you mean? Of course you should walk faster. What if you're just browsing shop windows? I hate dodlers. In cities and in airports, people that doddle around get right on my nerves. You know what one of my pet hates is? Dog hair.

15:31Anthony McPartlin:No, no, no. When you're in an airport and you've got those long travelators to take you through the airport more quickly, and people are walking through the airport to get to the gate, then they get the travelator, and then they walk really slowly on the travelator. Then they get off and they walk quickly and then they walk slowly. It's like walk at the same pace on the travelator as you do through the airport and we'd all get to our gates much more quickly.

15:56Declan Donnelly:Maybe that's their breather. Maybe them getting on the travelators.

15:59Anthony McPartlin:Well, if that is the case, then stand to the right. And let the rest of us pace through. Don't stand shoulder to shoulder, the two of you, and walk at a slower pace than you do through the rest of the airport.

16:13Declan Donnelly:I don't necessarily think I'm a good travel companion.

16:16Anthony McPartlin:No, you're not.

16:17Declan Donnelly:No.

16:18Anthony McPartlin:Are you an airport dad?

16:19Declan Donnelly:I'm very much an airport dad. Yeah, I'm very much, let's just make sure you take whatever you need to take out of your backpack before you get to the actual scanner. So have it in your hand, you liquids, and have your laptop or your iPad in your other hand. And I don't know how, but carry your bag in your third hand. And then be ready for the scanner. And then when you get through there, get straight to the lounge, out of the lounge, straight to the gate. No dilly-dallying. Everything should be the right size. there's no excuses to have a bottle of water in your hand luggage and if there is you've missed the flight that should be the ultimate consequence that you don't come on hold of this year sorry child yeah I'm very much dead boy dad I'm not yeah I'm very much like head down gotta get on with it

17:02Anthony McPartlin:do you do that thing I do this when somebody's got a bottle of water and you're at you're at security and there's a bottle of water and you go you should know better than that

17:11Declan Donnelly:yeah yeah

17:12Anthony McPartlin:you travel a lot you should know better yes Yes. No excuse for it.

17:17Declan Donnelly:So do you walk faster in the city? Yes, you should. Because there's people in the city who want to get from A to B. That's the place of work. It's not time for you to dawdle around.

17:25Anthony McPartlin:Unless you go on shopping, window shopping.

17:27Declan Donnelly:Yeah, yeah. Well, stick close to the walls. Yeah, I agree. Yeah. Don't be in the middle of the pavement. Just stick close to the walls or windows. There should be lanes. Fast lanes.

17:36Anthony McPartlin:Yeah.

17:37Declan Donnelly:Slow lanes. And stay in your lane. Browser lanes. Stay in your lane.

17:39Anthony McPartlin:Stay in your lane. Yeah. Very good. Very good question. Roman Empire discuss. How often do you think about the Roman Empire? A lot. Do you?

17:49Declan Donnelly:Still? Yeah. Yeah, I do. I wasn't just making it up for the content, you know. Yeah, we did this on a social media thing. Yeah, you just can't. I always kind of hear the Roman Empire mentioned or Roman legions or gladiators. I don't know. It's just always, it's not far from me, mate. Or maybe it's like history that I watch or stuff that I read. it's always kind of there or thereabouts for me. What about you?

18:17Anthony McPartlin:Yeah, a bit. Do you know what I would love to know more about is like the succession of Roman emperors and the actual story of the empire.

18:25Declan Donnelly:A bit like you do with the saints. Yeah. Right, one last one. Oh, I've broken the discussion jar. If it's a repeat, I'm walking out of here. Sheena Jeeveson's in Kent asks, on the Medela effect, have you heard about the salt and vinegar Walker's crisps? used to be in a blue packet and now it's green and vice versa for cheese and onion. Apparently not true. They've always had the same colours. I disagree. Well, I do think in some other brands, blue was salt and vinegar and green was cheese and onion. I equate green with cheese and onion and blue with salt and vinegar. Yeah, too. Yeah. Yeah. So what's she saying?

19:08Anthony McPartlin:What's she saying? Yeah, too. Yeah. Now, so, Salt and vinegar Walker's crisps used to be in a blue packet, and now it's green, and vice versa for cheese and onion. Now, I agree with Sheena that the Walker's have always had it the other way around.

19:23Declan Donnelly:What we got there, I can hear some crisps from it.

19:26Anthony McPartlin:Yeah, Walker's get it. So she's facing it in a minute. Walker's get it wrong. Well, Walker's did it. I think did that on purpose. Did they? I reckon they changed it around because everybody, every crisp manufacturer, Cheese and onion used to be green. Uh-huh. And salt and vinegar was always blue. But Walkers did the old switcheroo when nobody was watching.

19:47Declan Donnelly:What a great way to finish. Cheese and onion crisps. Oh, I dropped one. Absolutely special.

19:54Anthony McPartlin:But yeah, Walkers have always been that colour. Yeah, they have. I think every other brand was the other way around. Well done. Oh! Just done that thing. You only opened a bag of crisps upside down.

20:05Declan Donnelly:Whoa! No! Quick, put the lock around tonight.

20:07Anthony McPartlin:That really upsets me when that happens. Sorry, for those of you just listening, I've opened up my bag of crisps the wrong way around. I've opened up the bottom. That always used to put me on edge when I see people do that. On edge? Yeah, when I see people do that, I go, oh. What, are you going to lash out? Your crisps are upside down, and I just kind of go, oh. That's really upset me. You're a psychopath. You're a psychopath test, and you just failed. Don't like it. It's because you're eating what should be the last crisps first. Does that make sense?

20:36Declan Donnelly:Yeah, loads of sense.

20:37Anthony McPartlin:this should have been my last crisp I only have my first one it's made me feel a bit funny that I don't know if I can eat them great I'll have them right I'll be fine that's all that's all we've got time for we'll be back on Thursday with the main pod should we bring some more snacks huh we'll bring some more snacks snacks on Thursday snacks I'll bring you some snacks in a minute we'll be back on Thursday with the main pod until then

21:01Declan Donnelly:respect guys respect guys see you Thursday I'm taking these look at Come on! Come on, mate. See you Thursday. Merry Christmas.
