In short
Ant and Dec (with Deck and Ant) chat about spring and daily life, then field listener letters about the name “Bethan,” debate whether Ant is a time traveller, and mark the diary’s 32nd birthday (9 April 1994). They also discuss TV/film “banana ratings,” including why Dex stopped watching The Last Frontier, and give a collective banana rating for the alien comedy Alien Autopsy. They share an awkward behind-the-scenes story from filming Alien Autopsy’s “sex scene” (just two actors, a sound guy, and a director giving notes like “intensify”).
Guests
No external guests. Main hosts are Ant and Dec; Jemima and Fiona appear as co-hosts/participants in the banana-rating segment. Listener names (not guests) include Bethan Parfit (letter), Bethan Wynne-Jones, and others.
Key claims
“Bethan” is Welsh (Welsh version of Elizabeth); Ant may be a time traveller; The Last Frontier’s final episodes became too far-fetched to finish; Alien Autopsy averages about 5.5–6 bananas.
Notable examples
Haggis/neeps/tatties and sweetbreads debate; CBT/motorbike test story; diary entries from Live and Kicking; Alien Autopsy ratings (e.g., 8 bananas from JJ, 3 bananas total from Beverly and Donna).

Automatic transcript. May contain errors.0:00Declan Donnelly:Spring just slid into your DMs. Grab that boho look for that rooftop dinner, those sandals that can keep up with you, and hang some string lights to give your patio a glow up. Spring's calling. Ross, work your magic. Coming up on the show, Dex got a conspiracy theory about me. Is Ant actually a... Maybe I am, just I can never reveal it to anyone.
0:24Ant McPartlin:The Bethans of the world have been in touch, and they're not happy.
0:28Declan Donnelly:How convenient, Bethan, that the only other Bethans you know went to your primary school and then your secondary school. And I've never met them. Dex shares his most embarrassing, intimate moment on camera.
0:40Ant McPartlin:It's just me and the actress in a room in a microphone and you look at each other and you've got to go, eh. We hear Ant's most dramatic banana rating yet.
0:48Declan Donnelly:I'd like to take away all of my bananas. Every single one.
0:53Ant McPartlin:And we celebrate my diary's 32nd birthday. Enjoy the show! Enjoy the show!
1:02Ant McPartlin:Hello, everybody! Hi, everybody! Oh, it's nice to be back in here, isn't it?
1:07Declan Donnelly:Oh, my lights are on. Oh. I've turned my lights on. I thought it'd save some time. I like doing that. It's the only bit of responsibility I've got on this show. I don't even say the hellos. Hello, everybody. See what I mean?
1:20Ant McPartlin:Welcome back to the Hangout. Good morning, good evening. For another Hangout with him and me. Me and him. Hi. Hands in deck, deck and hand. Hi.
1:28Declan Donnelly:How are you? All right, yeah, I'm all right. Yeah, I was all right. Until Busyfingers over there got involved with the lights. Is that a nickname you've had before? Busyfingers? Busyfingers? A new one. Is it? Good nickname. You've got to give people the context, though, if you ever say my nickname. My boss calls me Busyfingers. Yeah, give them the context, because that could be taken wrong. Anyway, you all right? I am, good, thanks. It's nice to see you. You might be very cuddly today.
1:56Ant McPartlin:Does it look like it's my turn with the green card? Yeah, yeah. Does it? Yeah, it does. Because I think this is similar to one you've got.
2:02Declan Donnelly:I think that was the outfit I wore a couple of weeks ago. Is it? Yeah. If you go back on Belterbox, you'll see it.
2:08Ant McPartlin:Where do I get my style inspiration from, I wonder? Moi! Must be Ant. I haven't seen you much this week. No, you haven't. You've been here, there and everywhere. I have. We've had a few days apart. Come on then, hit me. I've had a lovely few days with the kids. Yeah. It's been exhausting also because they're very busy. Yes. busy with clubs and stuff clubs here there and everywhere we've got little gym

2:37Ant McPartlin:no that's not a child oh it's little gym it's not a child it's where Jack goes to little gym oh I see right Isla goes to little gymnasium she sees muscles so yeah it's like ferrying the kids around doing clubs and stuff
2:51Declan Donnelly:how have you been what have you been up to went away with the missus which was lovely went up to Scotland very nice yes yes I kind of knew had haggis I love haggis you do love a bit of haggis don't you I do do you not like it I do yeah for brekkie I had it for breakfast and I had it for dinner and it wasn't on in the restaurant for lunch otherwise I would have had it for lunch that's too much haggis it's not you can have too much haggis to all of our Scottish viewers what else is there as well as haggis that I would like as well neeps and tatties well yeah I like that but if I love haggis what else can I eat that you would recommend and I will try it here on the podcast.
3:28Declan Donnelly:Square sausage, I know about. They like that in Scotland, don't they? Yes, they do. Square sausage, which is like a flat patty of pork sausage. I like that. But I need to know what else I can eat.
3:40Ant McPartlin:Would you have sweetbreads? What's a sweetbread? Oh, it's intestines and all sorts of stuff, isn't it? Is it? Sweetbreads. Doesn't sound like it. Just Google sweetbreads. Sweetbreads.
3:49Declan Donnelly:It's a culinary name for the thymus or pancreas, typically from a calf or lamb.
3:55Ant McPartlin:Don't think you're going to get a basket of sourdough if you order sweetbreads. It's revolting. Where have you had that in Ireland? I haven't had it. I would not eat that. Where have you seen it? Muck. Where have you seen it? On menus before.
4:09Declan Donnelly:So sweetbread is the kind of name for the thymus. Do you know what the thymus is?
4:13Ant McPartlin:No.
4:13Declan Donnelly:The throat gullet or neck.
4:16Ant McPartlin:Okay. Okay. No, Riley. It's ginger tune, haven't you? You've got green. It's not a no. Yeah.
4:24Declan Donnelly:I'd try anything No you wouldn't I would I would
4:27Ant McPartlin:He's out there Giving it all haggis What else can I have Haggis? Sweetbreads Oh no thanks
4:31Declan Donnelly:No I'd try it Would you? I'd try sweetbreads Yeah No you would not If it's cooked well From a good chef Then I'd give it a go I'm not like Just letting Fiona bring slop in And I'm gonna Go as a lad down Busy fingers there Yeah all busy fingers Getting busy in the kitchen With Gullets and throats Timers But I don't like kidney Do you? Do you like liver? kidney i don't eat it but i just don't it's the texture there's something i don't like about that
4:59Ant McPartlin:texture it's slippery i have a real mental block with eating anything that i've got one of like a testicle well yeah i was gonna say though but you've got two of them
5:13Declan Donnelly:that's a discount i don't want to start a rumor here that deck's only got one testicle that is not the case. He does have two. You still do, right? Okay, okay. He still has two testicles.
5:24Ant McPartlin:But like liver and onions, I've got a liver. I'm not eating that. Staten kidney pie, got kidneys. I'm not eating that. Okay. Like a tongue sandwich. A tongue sandwich. No, I'm not having that.
5:33Declan Donnelly:Anyway, so back to the suggestions. Fire them away and I will try and eat as much as I can.
5:39Ant McPartlin:Sweet breads on the menu. Coming soon. Cooked by a good chef. Not you. Talking of good chefs, has Jamie Oliver been in touch? We should get Jamie to cook some sweetbreads.
5:49Declan Donnelly:Yeah, Jamie Oliver can come and cook me some intestines and I'll eat them.
5:54Ant McPartlin:Not until September. He's diarrheous pulling them.
5:55Declan Donnelly:Yeah, October. We actually had quite a lot of people writing in that were a bit upset about the way we were talking about Jamie Oliver. What? No, they weren't. No one's on Jamie Oliver's side that much. Oh, I think you might be surprised. What? His response was so nice and you kind of looked like... Hold on a second. No, no, no, no, no, no. I also said Jamie Oliver was a nice guy. Did I or did I not?
6:16Ant McPartlin:You said it in an aggressive manner.
6:18Declan Donnelly:I did not say it in an aggressive manner. I said he was a nice guy, but I still disagree with someone being that busy and I disagree with his choice of pants. Well, they want you to... Who's there? Quite a few people. Never going to happen. Ever. Ever. Ever. Okay?
6:39Ant McPartlin:I think you maybe should. To who? To the people that were offended. They're not offended.
Read the full transcript
6:45Declan Donnelly:On behalf of Jamie. You can't be offended on behalf of Jamie Oliver. Either he's offended or not. Is Jamie offended? Have we heard of he's offended? No, he doesn't care. He's a really popular guy. Yeah, I know he's popular. I like him too. I know, but it's not coming across. Yeah, I think he is a bit offended as well, to be honest. Hold on. You think he's a bit offended as well, to be honest. Busy fingers. Stop getting busy with this subject, ma. Stay in your lane.
7:14Ant McPartlin:Will you or will you not apologise to Jimmy Oliver?
7:16Declan Donnelly:I've got nothing to apologise for. Shut up! No!
7:21Ant McPartlin:I would apologise to Jimmy Oliver. Go on then. If I was you. No, go on. Do you want me to apologise on your behalf? Absolutely no way. I tried, guys. I stand. I tried. I stand firm. I tried to get him to do it, guys, but... He failed. Tell you what has been lovely. The weather. Hasn't it been brilliant?
7:44Declan Donnelly:Oh, my God. Is that where we are? No, but... What, are we episode 10 and he's talking about the weather? No, I'll tell you what's been lovely. Have we exhausted every topic without the weather?
7:55Ant McPartlin:No, but it feels like spring has sprung. Like the cherry blossoms out, the daffs are out, the sun is shining in the sky. It's still a little bit chilly in the morning. It is a bit chilly. It's fresh, but I love it. It's like spring has sprung. Definitely this time. I love spring. I do love spring. And so I was out with the kids doing all that. And then we went down the river, fed the ducks, went out for lunch. Lovely days, man. Really happy. Good. Makes such a difference. Spring in your step. Spring in your step. Spring in me. Good. Spring in the air and spring in my step.
8:27Declan Donnelly:You know what I did do? I took my CBT test. Cognitive and behavioral therapy test. No, I would fail at that if I took it. No, it's your first part of a motorbike test. Oh. So you can ride up to like a 125 engine motorbike. So just know and tell my mother if you see her.
8:47Ant McPartlin:And she doesn't listen to the podcast.
8:48Declan Donnelly:Yeah, she's knocking on the podcast. But it's great. You'd love it. Would I? Absolutely love it. But it was really good. Nice cool guy called Claudio. He doesn't listen to the podcast either. So I didn't even know why I'm name checking him. But he was a cool guy and a very good instructor. So he said to his, will you be driving an automatic bike or a gear bike? I said, automatic. I said, it's electric, the bike I'm going to be riding. I said, so I don't need to do gears. He went, I think you should learn on gears. I said, well, what's the point? I'm not going to be riding a gear bike. You should always give yourself the option in the future.
9:22Declan Donnelly:And he did that. Did he point at you? He pointed.
9:26Ant McPartlin:I think Claudia should apologize to you for pointing your face.
9:31Declan Donnelly:No, I ended up doing a manual. Did you? Yeah, I was persuaded. He persuaded us by that. I think you should always give yourself the option. It was like, it was. Okay, Claudio. And before I knew it, I was out the back on a manual bike with a clutch and everything, the gears on the left-hand side. No way. Yeah, but I did it. And you passed. I passed. Got my certificate. Thank you very much.
9:55Declan Donnelly:That was a bigger, longer round of applause. And I didn't even do it for applause. I didn't do it for the praise. No, you don't.
10:02Ant McPartlin:I just do it from... Just do it to get it from A to B.
10:05Declan Donnelly:On a B place, it's quicker.
10:07Ant McPartlin:I was thinking this week, about, you know, your face in that dog's bum. Why? Just in a moment. Why are you thinking about dog's bums? Jack was in Little Jim. I was sat outside waiting for him. I thought, do you remember that face of Hanson, that dog's bum? But no, I was thinking, remember when we were... Then it didn't look like my face. It did a bit. Do you remember when we were filming for Saturday Night Takeaway in that big stately home and we found those paintings... Oh, yeah, that looked like me. ...that looked like you. Yeah. And I was thinking... Have you seen them? Oh, there they are. This could be...
10:34Ant McPartlin:Don't they look like me?
10:36Declan Donnelly:Don't they? They look so much.
10:36Ant McPartlin:This could be a discussion topic. If you're just listening, these are two kind of old period paintings that we found in a stately home and both of them look like Ant. They do. A man in a wig that looks like Ant and then a woman with a little... The woman really looks like me. She's got my eyebrows. It's the nose and the eyebrows. But that got me thinking about one of our discussion topics. Yeah. Could be on our extra pod, on the bonus pod, about is Ant actually a time traveller? Oh, I'd love that.
11:06Declan Donnelly:Maybe I am. maybe I am just I can never reveal it to anyone but you couldn't or could you how because your tiny little brains couldn't comprehend the future or the past you know so what's the point of saying guys I'm a time traveller because all you do is say well what are the winning lottery numbers then because you're not going to remember lottery numbers are you or football results or x y and z you're not going to remember those what's the point in time travelling then just see wonderful parts of the whole cosmos.
11:37Ant McPartlin:Get out of it.
11:39Declan Donnelly:What do you mean? So your main point
11:41Ant McPartlin:for time travelling is to win the lottery. Not win the lottery, but like... To see... Make the most of that assumed knowledge that I've picked up. Which is? Like, invest in Tesla.
11:54Declan Donnelly:Oh yeah, I get that. Yeah. Investments I'm up for, yeah. Yeah, yeah, I get the investments. But, anyway, I'm not a time traveller. You're not? But even if I was... That's disappointing. Even if I was, that's disappointing. I wouldn't tell you. So you'll never... You'll never be quite sure if I am or not. You are a dick. No. I could possibly be. Well, of course I could. Well, could you be, though? Yeah, well, of course I could. I couldn't tell you if I was, though. You'd tell me, wouldn't you? There'd be signs.
12:20Ant McPartlin:But now you come to say that, I think I've seen the signs. Have you? There you go. They're behind you. Yeah. Interesting, Mr. Bond. So why bring this up? Yeah, but I was thinking, if other people have seen themselves as historical figures, or in dogs' bottoms, then they should send them in to us and we can compare a picture of you and a picture of the place that you think you've seen your face.
12:43Declan Donnelly:Or Dec.
12:45Ant McPartlin:Or me. Yeah, I bet you. Just don't send him lots of pictures of Alfie Bo.
12:49Declan Donnelly:He started following me on Instagram.
12:50Ant McPartlin:Who did? Alfie Bo? Oh my God.
12:53Declan Donnelly:Maybe he's a time traveller. He's already listened to this pod as it's gone out. And he's followed us on Instagram. Because why else would he follow us if he hadn't heard an episode of this that's gone out in the future. Oh, it's all gone a bit weird this and it's all gone a little bit of Robinson Meckes.
13:14Declan Donnelly:This is an advert for Santander, who understand that getting started on a goal isn't easy and embracing messy beginnings is how progress happens.
13:23Ant McPartlin:Now I was thinking, you know, we talked the other week about when starting SMTV Live and how it was chaotic and messy, how we didn't know really what we were doing for a couple of months before it became a hit. I was thinking though about previous to that your Biker Grove audition story I mean that nearly didn't happen because you didn't want to take the first step
13:43Declan Donnelly:in auditioning for the show yeah I was too so what happened was I was too nervous I'd got I'd done a first audition at school when the producers came to the school and then I got a letter saying come for a second audition the big proper audition down at the studio but I got too nervous and I hid the letter and I wasn't going to audition because the nerves got the better of us and I wasn't even going to start. But my friend told my mother about it and she frog-marched me down there and said, just take a chance. Take that first step. And if you don't want it, if you get the job and you don't want it, that's fair enough.
14:17Declan Donnelly:But if you don't take that first step, you'll never know and you'll kick yourself forever.
14:21Ant McPartlin:And that would be the worst thing is not knowing when wondering whether you'd have got the part if you hadn't have done it. If I hadn't taken that first step. This podcast wouldn't have existed.
14:30Declan Donnelly:And if I'd waited for the perfect time, I would never have done it.
14:32Ant McPartlin:Yeah, well, there is never a perfect time. There's never a perfect time for anything. You just got to do it.
14:35Declan Donnelly:Just get started and see where it takes you. And that's what Santander is all about. Understanding that beginnings don't have to be perfect and get it started is what it's all about. Santander, it starts here.
14:48Ant McPartlin:Now, you know me, don't you? I think so, yeah.
14:51Declan Donnelly:I love a day. Oh, national day or international day of whatever it is, sausages or eggs. Eggs, probably eggs, isn't it? It's not eggs.
15:01Ant McPartlin:This is a really interesting one. Egg week, egg day, national eggs. No, no, no, no, no. Eggs or legs. This is national. So it hasn't caught on around the world yet. No, no. We're starting just here in the UK then. It's going to spread. National Name Yourself Day. What do you mean? Would you like to call yourself something different? Have you ever thought? Obviously, none of us have had a say into what our names are, unless you've changed your name. So have you ever thought about changing your name? No. I used to do it as a kid. To what? When I was little, everybody would go, but what's your name?
15:30Ant McPartlin:Declan Declan Oh right
15:32Declan Donnelly:It wasn't a very popular name
15:33Ant McPartlin:It wasn't a very popular name People didn't know how to Spell it Read it Right And you know when you go Into a gift shop And it's always like Toby's room Anthony's room
15:43Declan Donnelly:Oh like Cadbury's Done the bars of chocolate With your name on Never a Declan Right okay It was never a Declan So you wanted a name That was Go on what was it Kevin Kevin
15:51Ant McPartlin:After Kevin Keegan He was my hero
15:54Declan Donnelly:You don't really Hear babies being called Kevin now dear No you don't There he is Little baby Kevin You don't dear Don't hear a lot of Kevins That's probably one of those names that is just disappearing Down the charts Going down the charts
16:05Ant McPartlin:If you had to pick another name for yourself what would you call yourself? You can't have Tony
16:08Declan Donnelly:I don't want to be called Tony I don't want to be called Tony Thank you Not Tony Not Mac I like Anthony It's a solid name
16:17Ant McPartlin:But if you had to
16:18Declan Donnelly:Orlando What's wrong with that? Nothing Orlando McPartland It's good isn't it? It's good You're jealous It's better than Kevin It's a good stage name
16:27Ant McPartlin:It's stronger than Kevin Kevin Donnelly I think has got a good hint to it. Kevin Donnelly.
16:31Declan Donnelly:Kevin Donnelly. Sounds like me neighbour. Whoa, we've got a ball of paper, not just an aeroplane. No aeroplanes this week. We're going to need to unfurl this. Talking of names, Bethans across the country have been in touch. Should I read this? I think you probably should. Come on. Before you read it though, were you going to name your kids anything other than what they're named now? Like, were they called something for a short period of time? Yes, actually. Yeah, because Wilder was Heath. You know, like Heath Ledger? Yeah. For a short period, we thought we wanted something that was, you know, named after nature.
17:05Declan Donnelly:We got Poppy and a Daisy and we thought Heath's nice. Yeah, nice. But then we just worried that he might be mispronounced as Keith, which isn't the coolest of names right now. It's a little bit like Kevin. And as you say, it's probably gone down the charts. It's gone down the charts. So we were like, we can't do that to him. We can't call him Heath because it'll be mispronounced as Keith. How long was he Heath? A couple of weeks. Really? On a list. On a list. And then while I came along, we were like, that's it. That's the one.
17:29Ant McPartlin:Jack was Edward for 24 hours. Oh, nice. Nice name. Strong name. Strong name. A good family name on my side and the wife's side. Right, yeah. The current Mrs. Donnelly also has Edwards in her family. So that's a good family name. That is good. And then we had a minor disagreement in the hospital after he was born. Which was? We couldn't agree on what I would be shortened to. So she wanted to call him Teddy. Yeah. And I was going to call him Eddie. Right. So that can't be right. If you're going to have a nickname, it's got to be the same. We've got to agree on it. So we couldn't agree, so we changed the whole name.
18:04Declan Donnelly:I like it. It's a good way to solve an argument, isn't it? Yeah, we had to. We had to change it. Let's throw the baby out with the bathwater. Start again. Right, Bethany. Bethan.
18:13Ant McPartlin:So Bethan's across the country been in touch since you said Bethan isn't a proper name. Uh-huh. Go on. Prove me wrong. Bethan Parfit says, Bethans of the world unite. I can't believe Ant didn't know Bethan was a name. It's a Welsh name, and there were three Bethans in my primary school class of 30 people. Well, that's good for her, but I've not met one. And ten in my secondary school year in Newport.
18:38Declan Donnelly:What a silly goose. How convenient, Bethan, that the only other Bethans you know went to your primary school and then your secondary school, and I've never met them.
18:48Ant McPartlin:Another Bethan says, on behalf of Bethans Everywhere, I wanted to share that of course it's a real name. Bethan is in fact the Welsh version of Elizabeth.
18:55Declan Donnelly:What? Something...
18:59Ant McPartlin:Oh, how silly of me. Something that as a Welsh woman, I'm very passionate about. You went slightly worse when you said that. I discussed something yesterday. I'm very passionate about. Yeah, it's good. You also pronounced it as Beth-An, as it's Welsh. Beth-An. Oh, okay. Now that's...
19:14Declan Donnelly:All right. Yeah, okay.
19:16Ant McPartlin:Other outraged Bethans who have written in are Bethan Wynne-Jones, Bethan G from Litchfield, Bethan R from Swindon. Bethan Grey from South Wales, who said, Since he thinks my name doesn't exist, I will refer to Ant as Tony. Sorry, Ant, but you brought this on yourself. Do you know what?
19:34Declan Donnelly:Just because I don't know something, it shouldn't have to bring on this amount of... Vitriol. Vitriol and criticism. I didn't know that. I didn't go to primary school with Bethans or secondary school with Bethans. Do you think these Bethans owe you an apology? Yeah, I do, actually. Do you? Yeah. Can you make it on their behalf? One of the Bethans says,
19:55Ant McPartlin:we will apologise as a collective of Bethans if Anne apologises to Jamie Oliver. No, they did not say that.
20:02Declan Donnelly:Shut up. I've got nothing to apologise to Jamie Oliver for. Although I do have a lot to apologise to the Bethans for. So here we go. Didn't know it was a name. So sorry.
20:16Ant McPartlin:We have got one more Bethan here. We've got the full letter. Dear Ant and Deck. Hi. Spelt with a K. I'll see past that, Bethan. Has she? Like Deckchair. Brilliant. Brilliant. Dear Ant and Deck with a K. I think you will be shocked to hear this, but to your surprise, my name is Bethan. I'm not shocked now, Bethan, because we've been through it. But go on, carry on. To your surprise. I had seen a short clip of you saying, can you actually get that as a name? She's seen a short clip. She hasn't watched the whole pod.
20:47Declan Donnelly:Hold on. Why have you not subscribed to Beltabox towards the whole pod. She'll not say this then, will she?
20:53Ant McPartlin:No, unless we clip this up. Can we clip this up? No, don't send it to her. I had seen a short clip of you saying, can you actually get that as a name? And this is when my mum said, maybe you should write a letter to him and say that you can. And this is then yet another thing. I decide I will. And then start writing. I got quite excited for the thought of you knowing that it could be a name. Then you should know. then you would know one person called Bethan. That's from Bethan, age nine.
21:25Declan Donnelly:Oh!
21:27Ant McPartlin:Isn't that a lovely letter?
21:28Declan Donnelly:It's a lovely letter. I mean, there's a lot of talk about the thought process into the letter writing and less letter. Yeah. There's not much letter. Yeah. It's quite a meta letter.
21:40Ant McPartlin:She's taught us through the process of writing a letter.
21:43Declan Donnelly:I love that, Bethan. And by the time you get to the end of the process of writing the letter, the letter's finished. I'd like more letter from her, from Bethan, age nine.
21:52Ant McPartlin:That's good.
21:53Declan Donnelly:Okay, apologise. My biggest apology is to you, Bethan, age nine.
21:57Ant McPartlin:And to all Bethans out there, respect, guys. But not Jamie Oliver.
22:06Ant McPartlin:So it's a very special moment today.
22:09Declan Donnelly:Well, I can tell we've all got hats on. There's a banner saying happy birthday. Do you know why? Busy finger's birthday?
22:14Ant McPartlin:No, it's not her birthday. this podcast comes out it's brought to you by this podcast comes out on the 9th of April 2026 yeah today's diary entry is the 9th of April 1994 wow it's on it's the diary's 32nd birthday yay

25:12Ant McPartlin:Next month? May? Okay? Is it us for Why Me? The single? When we get in the charts?
25:18Declan Donnelly:Robin Williams.
25:19Ant McPartlin:Oh, nice.
25:21Declan Donnelly:Would you like your birthday jingle? Yeah, do we have a birthday jingle? Oh, have we got a birthday jingle? This is a diary jingle, but a birthday, it's a 32-second birthday special. Special birthday jingle. Okay, UK? Birthday jingle. Okay, let's go. Okay, UK? Yeah, okay. Hit it. Okay, hit it.
25:36Ant McPartlin:Oh. Oh, yeah, we love these guys. This is Mr. Jemima again. Happy birthday, darling.
25:43Declan Donnelly:Happy birthday, birthday. Happy birthday, darling. Happy birthday.
25:52Ant McPartlin:Is that Mr and Mrs Jemima again? Yeah. That is fantastic.
25:56Declan Donnelly:Proper professionals, aren't they? They're just solid. You know what you're getting. Solid, that is. It's cultural. It's good.
26:03Ant McPartlin:It's very highbrow. Very highbrow.
26:05Declan Donnelly:As opposed to this diary.
26:07Ant McPartlin:Hit it. The 9th of April 1994 Day 13 Of Life on the Road Oh unlucky for some Let's hope it was Lucky for you Up at 6.30 Oh okay Ready though And showered Ready to leave at 8am Give myself an hour and a half To get ready Wow Why would you do that? It's the haircut Do you think that's what it was?
26:28Declan Donnelly:Yeah it was Teasing the curtains The butt crack What's it called? The butt The butt The butt The butt Yeah Butt cut Butt cut Pop munch?
26:43Declan Donnelly:It's where people's jeans are too tight for the pop munch, you know, and it goes up their bum crack. Yeah, we know what it is. Okay, okay, okay. In case you didn't know, if you just listened.
26:51Ant McPartlin:It was a real killer having a get-up at that time after only a few hours in bed and only a couple of them sleeping. Oh, what?
26:59Declan Donnelly:What were you doing, you dirty devil?
27:01Ant McPartlin:I don't know. You dirty dog? I don't know. I must have taken it while I got to sleep. Oh, is that it? Yeah, I think so. The crew were there to film us.
27:10Declan Donnelly:What? In bed? What? That's why you couldn't sleep. You had a camera crew filming you? Are you still there? Are you still there, guys? Are you still there?
27:20Ant McPartlin:I can't sleep. The crew were there to film us in all our tired glory. So if you remember, there's a behind-the-scenes Fly on the Wall documentary crew with us. The crew were there to film us in all our tired glory.
27:34Ant McPartlin:And also every pissy detail. Nothing could go unrecorded. I did well to break away and take a dump.
27:41Declan Donnelly:Oh! Why do you admit that?
27:45Ant McPartlin:I don't know. It's not like me, is it?
27:46Declan Donnelly:I don't mind the sexual innuendos, but it's the toilet humour. I draw a line. I draw a line. Oh, you don't like your dumps.
27:53Ant McPartlin:The interview went very well on Live and Kicking. Good. And we had to do a mug sketch with Trevor and Simon. What plums we looked.
28:03Declan Donnelly:What plums we looked. The girls went crazy. He's really obsessed with the girls' reaction to everything, isn't he? Aren't you not? You're obsessed. The girls went wild, the girls went crazy. How did you spell crazy?
28:17Ant McPartlin:Just the normal way, C-R-A-Z-Y. Not with a K. Outside TV centre. And I honestly thought the windows of the car were going to come through. It was manic. Manic! after a light lunch we headed of?
28:30Declan Donnelly:that doesn't say it more detail I'd like more detail please
28:32Ant McPartlin:after a light lunch we headed to Kent for a lazy afternoon a nice meal a bit of telly and back into bed by 1am
28:41Declan Donnelly:with the crew filming?
28:42Ant McPartlin:I don't think the crew were filming and I don't know if I had another done
28:45Declan Donnelly:well stop it happy birthday diary happy birthday diary happy birthday diary there's no detail on the light lunch no detail on what we thought of Andy Peters no Who we know very well now. Yes. He actually sent us a video.
29:00Ant McPartlin:Andy Peters was on a shoot and the sound recordist kept asking him what he'd rate everything. How many bananas would you give that coffee, Andy?
29:09Declan Donnelly:Oh, yeah, he would. Yeah, she did, yeah.
29:10Ant McPartlin:The sound recordist was obsessed with the podcast. That's good to hear. And he was very annoyed. So there we go. That is the 9th of April, 1994. If you think about it, 32 years ago,
29:23Declan Donnelly:put yourself back in young Declan shoes when the girls were going crazy. Socks. Oh, dirty socks. Did you think you'd still be in the music business? Did you hope you would be an actor? What did you think?
29:38Ant McPartlin:Well, I didn't think we'd still be in the music business because we weren't that good at it. Right. Yeah, maybe like thought we would go into acting or something else. Even when we were back there at 19, even thinking five years ahead seemed a bit of a stretch. Yeah. Like five years seemed like a lifetime. Yeah, it does. Especially in your teens, your late teens. It does feel like a lifetime. I remember doing interviews for like smash hits and stuff. And they go, where do you want to be in five years time? You go, that's ages away. Now, here we are, 32 years later, combing through the old diary.
30:09Declan Donnelly:But everything, like our career has had real moments of serendipity, hasn't it? You know, right place, right time. You know, some things have worked, some things haven't worked. But, you know, if you had asked us when we launched Saturday Night Takeaway how long that would run for, neither of us would have said 20 series. We just wouldn't. You know, we never thought it would have been going for two decades. No one would have, neither of us would have said that I'm still going to get me out of it or going on to its 25th year, 26th year. Can't even remember. You know, that would have spawned a spinoff show set in South Africa, which is on at the minute.
30:45Declan Donnelly:So you've just, you've got no way of knowing. I think back then I would have hoped that we were in the entertainment business because we enjoyed it so much. But, yeah, I agree with you. I never thought we'd be singing for a long time. I always saw it as, you know, quite a fleeting thing.
31:04Ant McPartlin:Yeah. It's mad that we're here, though, doing this. One of my favorite things as well is when we hear from the audience in comments or when you email us or whatever. and such a lot of our audience have grown up with us as well. Started around the same age as us, watching Biker Grow Up and followed our music career and then into the TV stuff. And it's nice to have that. Like the diary a couple of weeks ago with the Radio On Roadshow in Edinburgh. Different point of view. It's just brilliant. That's such a lot of our audience who've grown up with us. We've grown up together. And we never, ever take that for granted either.
31:38Ant McPartlin:Thank you. Yeah. On our 32nd birthday or on the diary's 32nd birthday, thank you. for sticking with us and still enjoying it. Here's to the next 32.
31:52Ant McPartlin:This is an advert for Gemini, Google's personal AI assistant. Beat the butchers again. Have you?
31:58Declan Donnelly:Obvs. I want to do something different. You need some inspiration.
32:01Ant McPartlin:I need some inspiration, so I thought we could ask Gemini. What would be really inspirational is to get something that you could do with meat, but then combine your love of bananas. Yes, yes. Ask Gemini. Gemini, can you give us some examples of dishes from around the world that combine meat and bananas?
32:21Declan Donnelly:Yes, yes, yes. Certainly, you can find meat and banana in various cuisines. The easiest one would probably be a simple Caribbean stew.
32:31Ant McPartlin:Caribbean stew. I like it. I like that. What other foods could you pair bananas with, Gemini?
32:36Declan Donnelly:Bananas pair quite well with warm spices like cinnamon, nutmeg and clove. They also contrast nicely with tangy flavours like lime or orange. For something savoury, they can be a great addition to dishes with pork or chicken, balancing the richness. Pork and banana. I would never have thought that. I'm going to do that. I'm going to do a pork and banana dish. With Gemini, you can chat with a truly helpful AI assistant. You jump in, brainstorm ideas, ask for more details. You can even show it what you're talking about. It's there for a real chat, not just a quick question and done. Download the Gemini app today to unlock the real power of Google AI on your phone.
33:18Declan Donnelly:Check responses set up required. Compatibility and availability varies. 18 plus.
33:26Ant McPartlin:Chronic migraine. 15 or more headache days a month, each lasting four hours or more, can make me feel like a spectator in my own life. Botox. Onabotulinum toxin A prevents headaches in adults with chronic migraine. It's not for those with 14 or fewer headache days a month. It's the number one prescribed branded chronic migraine preventive treatment.
33:44Declan Donnelly:Prescription Botox is injected by your doctor. Effects of Botox may spread hours to weeks after injection causing serious symptoms.
33:50Ant McPartlin:Allerge your doctor right away as difficulty swallowing, speaking, breathing, eye problems, or muscle weakness can be signs of a life-threatening condition. Patients with these conditions before injection are at highest risk. Side effects may include allergic reactions, neck and injection site pain, fatigue, and headache. Allergic reactions can include rash, welts, asthma symptoms, and dizziness. Don't receive Botox if there's a skin infection. Tell your doctor your medical history, muscle or nerve conditions, including ALS Lou Gehrig's disease, myasthenia gravis or Lambert-Eaton syndrome, and medications, including botulinum toxins, as these may increase the risk of serious side effects.
34:20Ant McPartlin:Why wait? Ask your doctor, visit BotoxChronicMigraine.com, or call 1-800-44-BOTOX to learn more.
34:28Declan Donnelly:Spring Fest means more sun, more fun, and more free at Lowe's. One other mentioned, which I should mention, what I have been doing is watching I'm a Celebrity South Africa. South Africa!
35:05Ant McPartlin:How good is it?
35:06Declan Donnelly:It's good, isn't it? Yeah? Gemma Collins and Craig Charles, their introduction was epic and their first eating trial was just insane. It took almost four hours to complete that trial. So, you know, when they came out and they sat down and then they had to eat for the other side. Yeah. It went on so long that Adam Thomas was literally falling asleep. It took that long. I think it's the longest trial ever it's a new record four what did you say it was it's four hours four hours for a trial
35:36Ant McPartlin:in the middle of the night Adam Thomas kept falling asleep and then he'd just wake up and go come on Gemma
35:42Declan Donnelly:you can do it yeah he did and Ashley Roberts she was gone as well elbow drop but it's great though and see week one is really strong it's really good and then week two we've got two more late entries coming at the end of this week and then week two it just goes off again to another gear it's just it's got everything there's laughs there's arguments isn't there there's drama it's got everything in this series so if you haven't started watching start watching
36:12Ant McPartlin:catch up on ITVX and yeah follow the rest of it it's very good it's funny it's really good
36:18Declan Donnelly:I've got something quite serious to talk about now oh dear you know I introduced this banana rating you did about rating TV shows or films or music or anything. Anything at all. Anything you want with bananas.
36:32Ant McPartlin:Maximum of eight bananas, which is the current world record for the most bananas eaten in one minute. And so far it's gone well, hasn't it? It's absolutely taken off.
36:41Declan Donnelly:It's soared. Well, I rated something a couple of weeks ago, The Last Frontier. Oh, the TV show. Do you remember I said it started really strongly? First, great first episode. Plane crash with all of the prisoners, shackled. Really good. And then a couple of patchy episodes, but then it was picking back up again. I'd like to take away all of my bananas. Every single one. A zero-rated banana TV show? And I'll tell you for why. Because I got to the very last episode, and it is so far-fetched, I was getting angrier and angrier and angrier with the writers. It was almost as if, like, a 10-year-old had came in and finished the script.
37:21Declan Donnelly:There was... The plot just got ridiculous. The... Everything about every character just got silly. and it got so far-fetched, I stopped it with 27 minutes to go and said, I'm not completing the series. So my wife was like, well, I'm going to finish then, just to see how it ends. I went, nah. In protest to how bad it had gotten, I'm never going to finish it off. So I'm stripping all of the bananas away from its rating and just from now on, pretend I haven't even rated it.
37:52Ant McPartlin:No way.
37:53Declan Donnelly:Yeah. And my pledge to you all now is I'm not going to even give anything a banana rate until I've seen it again. Yeah. I think I went, it's my fault.
38:03Ant McPartlin:The first episode was very exciting.
38:05Declan Donnelly:Yeah. So if you want to watch a great first episode of it, then watch that. Right? That's eight bananas for a first step. But it gets worse and got so bad, I couldn't even finish it off. Is it as bad as the ending of Lost? It's worse than the ending of Lost because it's just so ridiculous. Ridiculous. and I can you know I can sit through big blockbuster movies where you go that's a bit hawky but hey it's a bit of fun and we all know what we're in for but with this I was just like nobody nobody can cheat death that many times nobody can it just it's just corny corny a first has anybody if you've started it because I rated the first episode so highly I do apologise get out while you can waste don't waste any more time Jamie Oliver started it on your say so do you want to apologise to him no I apologise to anybody who started watching it on my say so if Jamie Oliver started watching it I can't apologise to you I'm afraid I can't I can't I can't oh he's stubborn isn't he I can't so stubborn I'm very stubborn when it comes to celebrity chefs so there
39:13Ant McPartlin:well I was not expecting that
39:15Declan Donnelly:I have started Pluribus
39:17Ant McPartlin:but I can't give you a banana rating until I finished it don't do it is it good It's a really good first episode
39:23Declan Donnelly:But I can't review it with bananas Not yet Because I've just pledged I've just pledged
39:27Ant McPartlin:I can't do that Okay well we will watch this space Speaking of banana ratings Yeah We threw the challenge out there To sit through 92 minutes of alien autopsy Did anybody watch alien autopsy? Have we had?
39:40Declan Donnelly:We all did You all did?
39:41Ant McPartlin:Did anybody in the comments watch it? Oh we've got a few So first of all So you guys here in Heckler's Corner What did you make of alien autopsy?
39:50Declan Donnelly:We all did Be brutal. Be brutal, the critics will be. Yeah. Yeah. It was giving me a kind of like Shaun of the Dead vibes. Yeah. I thought it was going to be super serious, but I liked the comedy of it as well. The actual autopsy was really making me laugh. Was it? Filming of the autopsy. Would you like a biscuit? Yeah. Yeah, that's good. It was really funny. I thought it was great. And I loved your hair. Mate. Yeah. What, the same part? I feel a bit starstruck. Shut up. What, being in the studio with actual movie stars? Yeah.
40:22Ant McPartlin:That's understandable.
40:23Declan Donnelly:I'm really curious to know, were you ever going to play the other part?
40:27Ant McPartlin:We read for both parts and we kicked it around a bit and it was ultimately the director that chose us, but we read both parts and we played both parts.
40:36Declan Donnelly:Do you want my banana rating? We would like a banana rating from all of you so we can give it a proper banana rating on Levox. Lola's been very quiet. I think she hated it. Yeah, I don't think she liked it, but that's fine. That's fine. Okay, Jemima. I'd give it six bananas. Six out of eight? Yeah. I love that. I'll take that. That's quite high. That's quite high. I was going to say that too.
40:58Ant McPartlin:Fiona, six out of eight?
40:59Declan Donnelly:Yeah, Fiona. I was going to say five and a half, but I was really engaged.
41:05Ant McPartlin:No, because basically I was really engaged and I was really into it and then I lost attention and I ended up on TikTok. But that was just a me problem. That's not a you problem.
41:15Declan Donnelly:I feel like it is an us problem. If we haven't kept your attention to the end of the movie. That's a nice problem. I made it like 40 minutes. You can't give up a rating then because you've not finished it. As of today. Yeah, well, five and a half doesn't drag your banana rating down, does it? We'll keep it at six. Yeah. Yeah? Yeah. We've got some listening ones as well, so I'll add them and I'll work out the mean.
41:37Ant McPartlin:Okay. Right, okay. We've got some ratings here. Alien Autopsy Banana Ratings. Five bananas for Alien Autopsy on Letterboxd. That's from Nicola Bezic. Five? Yeah, she doesn't elaborate on it. She just says five. Solid. I'll take that. Thanks. Beverly and East Ryden of Yorkshire. After watching the latest podcast, me and my mum Donna were intrigued about your film Alien Autopsy, so we decided to watch it. After watching, we discussed it. And if collectively, this is between the two of them, I've given it three bananas. What? That's one and a half bananas each. That is really low. It's not that bad.
42:09Ant McPartlin:It's higher than a three. Thanks, Beverly and Donna. Yeah, well, no thanks.
42:13Declan Donnelly:Thanks for what?
42:13Ant McPartlin:Yeah, I wish you hadn't bothered. Yo, Ant and Dec. Yo. I love your movie, Alien Autopsy. It's so funny. It's Ace Mondo. Eight bananas.
42:23Declan Donnelly:What?
42:24Ant McPartlin:That's from JJ. Thank you, JJ.
42:26Declan Donnelly:I feel like you're being slightly sarcastic, but what? That really helps our average.
42:30Ant McPartlin:Kate Mitchell says, Hi, team. Snuggled up on the sofa today when Alien Autopsy came on the telly. And the first thing I noticed, Deck has stubble. See, pick attached. Got to put a pick up on the screen. Oh, yes. So you do. I do. I've got a bit of stubble there. Yeah, and really long sideburns. My question is, is this real or stuck on stubble? Or maybe one of those iron filing games where he's moved hair from his head and moved it to his chin. It's real stubble, although I can let you into a secret, they are stick on sideburns. The fringe was real. The nose is fake.
43:05Declan Donnelly:So your average from all of those people is 5.58. That's good. So we can round that to a six. Round it out to a six, can we? 5.5. 5.6. Five and a half. Five and a half. Five and a half. Five and a half out of eight. I'll take that all day long. That's pretty good. That's probably a better review than we got back in the day.
43:23Ant McPartlin:If you get round to watching it, let us know in the comments what banana rating you'd give it out of eight and we'll add that to the list. We can't rate it, can we? No.
43:33Declan Donnelly:You can rate being in it. You can rate watching it if you want. Oh, I had a lovely time making it. Yeah, sort of. So eight bananas for making it. But you can't all give that. The only people that can give that are the rest of the castmates.
43:45Ant McPartlin:my um most embarrassing moment of being an alien autopsy is do you know the scene where we were in the hotel and my character ray was making love to the we did discuss my notes was deck sex scene dot dot dot literally disturbed yeah i bet it's yeah yeah i can imagine that
44:06Declan Donnelly:yeah that's was that around about the time that you went on tiktok yeah yeah makes sense makes sense a bit like hearing your parents at it in the next room like turn the telly up do something else
44:17Ant McPartlin:you just hear it through the wall of Anne's character is in the room next door and here he hears it if you think you disturbed watching it how do you think I felt sat at the premiere next to my mother no and you get to it and you're like oh I'd forgotten about this bit what did she do well she's just like it's a bit like being at home and there's a sex scene and you're watching with your parents and you both just stare at the telly going I hope this is over soon I hope this ends soon what was it like filming that bit well really weird because it wasn't a scene no I'm asking the question
44:48Declan Donnelly:but I want you to explain it
44:49Ant McPartlin:so obviously it's not a scene it's just me and the actress in a room with a sound guy and a microphone and you look at each other and you go
44:59Ant McPartlin:and she's doing it and I'm doing it at the same time and then you're obviously trying to coordinate and synchronise
45:05Declan Donnelly:and if the director has given you notes what kind of notes would he say like more passion oh yeah
45:09Ant McPartlin:and then you go and now intensifies a bit. So yeah, so there was four of us actually. There was the sound guy with a microphone and the director. And he goes, now intensify it a little bit.
45:18Declan Donnelly:Ah! Eh! And now finish.
45:21Ant McPartlin:Yeah.
45:22Declan Donnelly:Ah! It's awkward, isn't it? It's awkward. Imagine doing a proper sex scene in a movie, like naked and all that. It just was so mechanical.
45:33Ant McPartlin:I didn't really know her either. Like we'd worked together for two days or something. And it was midway through the second day and it's like, right, we need to go now and do the wild track of the scene. I was like, oh my God, I'm just so not looking forward to this. It was very awkward.
45:48Declan Donnelly:Is it time for the map? Have you got the map? Yeah, I'd like to have a look at your map. Holy horses. World map, please. Not the UK. Yeah, I'd like to go overseas.
45:57Ant McPartlin:There you go. Thank you. Does that help? Here we go. Here's today's map. Got some new flags in there, the yellow flags, some new places that people are listening. We have listeners in Karen, Australia. Karen! Oh no, sorry. Karen is in Australia and she's listening in Southport. Southport, Australia. Southport, Australia. Hi Karen. Ever been? Never been. Ever been? Never been. Like to go? Love to go. Love to go. Where's Southport? That's Sydney. That's Brizzy. Perth.
46:26Declan Donnelly:Just by Surfers Paradise.
46:28Ant McPartlin:Oh, so. Oh.
46:30Declan Donnelly:Southport. We have been to Southport. Yes, we have been to Southport. Yeah. Ever been? Yes. Ever been? Yeah, loved it.
46:37Ant McPartlin:Becky is listening in Sydney, Australia. Ever been? Ever been? Yes. Yes. Love it. I love Sydney. I love Sydney too. I could live in Sydney. I could live in Sydney. I said that first. And I don't say that about many places. No, he doesn't. I love Sydney. Same. Dana is listening in Brisbane, Australia. Ever been? Yes. Do you like it? Yes.
47:00Declan Donnelly:I could live in Brisbane. Ever been? Yes. We went to see Coldplay in Brisbane. at the arena there, at the stadium there. And we were doing I'm a Celebrity. We were doing I'm a Sleb, yeah. Chris Martin got in touch and said, would we like to come and see them because they're down in Australia.
47:16Ant McPartlin:Do you want to shout at him now? He was really nice to you. And would you like to shout at Chris Martin as well?
47:20Declan Donnelly:I love Chris Martin. And I also love Jamie Oliver. I've got no problem with Jamie Oliver. You know this. Jamie knows this. Chris knows this. I don't have beef with no man. Other than you. Right now. Anyway, they reached out and said, would we like to go and see them? So we said, yes. So we worked out the timings. We worked out the timings. And it's a couple of hours drive from where we stay in Australia.
47:41Ant McPartlin:And we thought, oh, we've got the show. That was the problem. We had the show the next day live on I'm a Celeb. And as you know, it's very early in the morning.
47:49Declan Donnelly:Three o 'clock in the morning. We've got to get there.
47:51Ant McPartlin:Three o 'clock in the morning, by the way.
47:52Declan Donnelly:So we thought, we know what to do. Let's just go anyway. Let's just go anyway. And let's not tell them. So not tell anybody I'm a celebrity. So we went to watch Coldplay. And as we were watching Coldplay, Chris came to see us beforehand, didn't he? He was very nice.
48:05Ant McPartlin:Yeah.
48:05Declan Donnelly:and he was doing the gig and halfway through the gig he started a song but changed the lyrics to Let's Get Ready to Rumble. Cool, eh? That's so cool. That's really cool. I love. Wow. I love. It's really nice. So we finished the gig drove all the way back from Brisbane down to where down to where we do the show and slept in our dressing rooms in our little trailers and then went straight into the script meeting and they never knew a thing about it.
48:30Ant McPartlin:Bleary-eyed. Mwahaha. Did we shower? Did we shower? Yeah, we've got showers. What's going to do with you? Shower if I want. Do you shower every day? It's a weird thing to get fixated on. I love it.
48:43Declan Donnelly:Do you shower? What's a shower?
48:49Ant McPartlin:Learning lots about you today. Kerry. Spelled C-E-R-I. C-E-R-I. Kerry or cherry? Ceri. Ceri. Kerry. Kerry. Cherry? Kerry?
49:02Declan Donnelly:Kerry. I think it's Welsh.
49:04Ant McPartlin:Welsh. Well, she's in Queensland, Australia, which is also there. That flag's doing a lot of heavy lifting. One flag, three or four. Ever been? Ever been? Ever been? Yes! Yeah, I've been too.
49:17Declan Donnelly:Didn't you see Coldplay there?
49:19Ant McPartlin:Yeah, I did see Coldplay in Queensland, yeah. Coldplay in Queensland, yeah. Weren't you listening? We've just told the story. Did you switch off? And I showered.
49:31Ant McPartlin:Kevin is listening in Western Australia. over there somewhere over that side that's the west of Australia must be that one there is it? could well be yeah western Australia could well be Laura is listening in Perth in Australia ever been? no no I've never been that's that one you can get that direct flight nowadays can't you from London straight to Perth 18 hours on a flight
49:54Declan Donnelly:could you do that?
49:55Ant McPartlin:no I could not why? because I like to get off and stretch my legs yeah same here I don't like to be hunched up for all that time on a long trip and can you guess where the next location is uh Cairns no Northern Australia Mongolia have we done all of Australia now Bert wait wait there's no other flags Bert is listening in Mongolia
50:17Declan Donnelly:Bert hello Bert I'd like to go to Mongolia ever been no I'd love to go Bert can I come and stay at yours fresh eats big shop en suite bathroom and wifi Mongolia up there on the map yep
50:32Ant McPartlin:Lovely job.
50:32Declan Donnelly:Is that it?
50:33Ant McPartlin:That's all today's...
50:33Declan Donnelly:Australia and Mongolia.
50:35Ant McPartlin:That's all today's new listeners from the world. Nowhere else. No European listeners.
50:38Declan Donnelly:No South American. No North American.
50:42Ant McPartlin:Come on, guys. Pull your finger out in those continents. Start listening and watching. Do you want to have a look in this week's postbag? Always. Yes, please.
50:53Declan Donnelly:We love your correspondence. Here it is. Let's get some letters out. Dig in. Yeah. Right. I'll kick off. Go on then. Oh, it's a short one. Hi. I got busy with a plain shirt. Made myself a short merchandise. All hand-stitched. Respect, guys. From Kayleigh Cavanagh.
51:11Ant McPartlin:There it is on the screen. If you're just listening, we've got a nice hanging out of Ant & Dec t-shirt.
51:17Declan Donnelly:Ant & Dec and bananas with no features. It's a bit like my painting. I'm not very good at features or skin tone. Yes. On portraits. I quite like that. You like that? I do like that. She got busy with that. We didn't ask her to do it. We didn't. We didn't ask her to do it herself. Well done, Kayleigh. Well done, Kayleigh. Thank you for that.
51:35Ant McPartlin:And because you've sent that in to us, we now own the copyright to that design. Yeah, so that's us.
51:39Declan Donnelly:Busy fingers over there can reproduce them and we'll be quidsing.
51:44Ant McPartlin:Thank you for that. I've got one here from Aaron. He says, hi, guys. My name's Aaron.
51:50Declan Donnelly:You've made a jumper.
51:51Ant McPartlin:Surely. Aaron's made an Aaron jumper. He hasn't, unfortunately. Okay, that's a shame. Although he does go on better. He says, my name is Aaron. And me and my family are loving the podcast. Thought I'd share that Kelly's telly has nothing on mine. Oh, yes, please. Share your telly, Aaron. It is an outrageous 120 inches. My TV has taken over the living room. Oh, my God. That's him stood next to the TV. Yeah, yeah.
52:15Declan Donnelly:It took me a little while of working out. If I'm honest, I thought he was on the TV. How did he get in our studio?
52:24Ant McPartlin:That is a massive TV and Aaron is stood right next to the TV. He says, as you can see, I also watch the podcast like Ancestor Dave. Look at that. That's great.
52:36Declan Donnelly:So, Aaron, you are the current leader on the leaderboard of massive tellies. If you can beat Aaron's telly, get in touch with us. Hang out at belterbox.com and send us a picture of your telly. Sorry, Kelly, you're in second place. I've never really seen the angle of the back of my head like that before. It's a short haircut, isn't it? Isn't it? Quite severe. It's very severe. Do you like it or are you going to grow it out? It's a bit longer now. Would you go mullet? No, I would not go mullet. Thank you very much. No way. Why not? I'm not that kind of man.
53:12Declan Donnelly:Well, there you have it. There you have it. You heard me at first. I've got one here that says, Hi, lads. Hi, Al. Love of the podcast. My lovely sister, Julia Rowe, knee or doubt, turned 50 on the 6th of April and was at school with Dec. in his early days. Well, I'd hope so. So I thought I'd attach a couple of pics of them in their formative years. Do you know who she is? I do. Here you'll see, Julia was the Cinderella when Dec and a different Anthony were the ugly sisters. Tara Tulip sent that in. Let's have a look. Oh, that's you! That's you!
53:48Ant McPartlin:That's me on the left. So if you're just watching this on screen, Julia is in the middle. She is Cinderella.
53:54Declan Donnelly:She's the one with a severe ball cut. Yes. It is though, isn't it? She's got a haircut that her mother has done. It's very 80s. Very 80s, yeah.
54:02Ant McPartlin:Very on trend. And who's that on the right? That is Ant. The other Anthony. Who's Ant? He used to be my friend at school. You knew another Ant? What? I did. I offered him the role first and he turned it down. Did he? Right. And he's gone on to... Bigger and better things.
54:16Declan Donnelly:Bigger and better things, yeah.
54:19Ant McPartlin:And yeah, we played the Ugly Sisters and Julia was Scythus. Look at you, you're going for it there, aren't you? Well, look...
54:25Declan Donnelly:He loves it. He loves a bit of drag. in for a penny he's done it before he's got form that's why you're so good at Saturday Night Takeaway
54:30Ant McPartlin:I think I'm standing on her toe there as well
54:32Declan Donnelly:looks like it and your earrings are they Christmas decorations? the old Christmas baubles yeah look at that well done Anne original Anne so he's the original Anne
54:40Ant McPartlin:he's the original Anne wow original and still the best one here says hello Belterbox team oh shall we play say hello back then hello hey hey shall we play a game with the boys we know that a pet peeve for Ant is Deck talking over him. It winds him up. So Deck's challenge is to see how long he can over-talk Ant before he works it out. Well, I'm just used to it. So, Dave, you've done it today. Loads.
55:10Declan Donnelly:But I'm just used to it. So I didn't think that was a challenge
55:13Ant McPartlin:because I've been set a challenge. Well, so I see. Ant's challenge is to mess with Deck's cherished map. You might want to make a new one so you don't have to remember where they all go, but essentially move all the flags on the map to a new location.
55:26Declan Donnelly:I took them off.
55:27Ant McPartlin:I took them off completely. I thought you did, but I thought it was one of these three. Ah, that's what I wanted you to think. Now your challenge, Team Belter Box, is to wind them both up with complaints about the Jamie Oliver boxers. Oh, you idiots. And inform them that YouTube has had so many people complain about and dislike to the boxers, they're considering suspending your channel lest they make all the people happy or something like that. So that's the apology, right? But shh, don't tell the boys. thanks Helen Lilly well done so we all had a secret we all had a secret mission
56:00Declan Donnelly:we told you separately and then tricked you I thought it was just me you thought it was just you you knew everything yeah yeah well done I like that though I like anything like that that's very good that's very good who's it from again?
