0:00Declan Donnelly:K-pop Demon Hunters, Saja Boys Breakfast Meal and Huntrix Meal have just dropped at McDonald's. They're calling this a battle for the fans. What do you say to that, Rumi?

0:09Ant McPartlin:It's not a battle. So glad the Saja Boys could take breakfast and give our meal the rest of the day.

0:14Declan Donnelly:It is an honor to share.

0:16Ant McPartlin:No, it's our honor.

0:18Declan Donnelly:It is our larger honor. No, really. Stop. You can really feel the respect in this battle. Pick a meal to pick a side.

0:28Ant McPartlin:And participate in McDonald's while supplies last. Coming up on today's show, we find Anne's face in the most disturbing place.

0:35Declan Donnelly:My face is not a dog's... I eventually address my face I pulled at the coronation. I don't know whether I was pretending to be one of the goggles on the Westminster Abbey.

0:47Ant McPartlin:And I address an April Fool's trick that went horribly wrong. We thought Deck was dead.

0:54Declan Donnelly:Deck medals with my banana rating system. We don't want to shake it up, we're just getting it going. We don't want to change. We like the bananas.

1:01Ant McPartlin:And we discover a cracking new use for Ant's head.

1:05Declan Donnelly:And I get offered a job at the palace. Enjoy the show.

1:14Hello.

1:16Ant McPartlin:Greetings. Hi. Greetings. Oh, there's little chicks everywhere. Hello, little chickies. Happy Easter, everybody. Hello. Good morning, good evening. and welcome back to The Hangout for another hanging out with him and me. Happy Easter deck. They're on back to front. What? You've got your ears on back to front. No wonder you can't hear anything. Happy Easter deck. Can you hear that? Can you hear that?

1:38Declan Donnelly:Yeah, I can hear better through these ears than I can these ears. Can you hear in those ones? Easter is my favourite holiday of the year. Is it really? Yeah, it is. How come? Because the sun's starting to come out. I love spring. I love the flowers coming out. And I love chocolate. I love chocolate. but I love it so much. You know I do. The true meaning of Easter. Yeah, Easter eggs. Exactly. I love it. I mean, I love chocolate throughout the year, but I particularly love Easter eggs. You can't beat Easter eggs, can you? Straight out of the fridge. Out of the fridge, crack it in your mouth, and there's something about the thinness of the chocolate egg when you crack it in your mouth.

2:15Declan Donnelly:It's that shape. Yeah. Maybe it just fits the roof of your mouth better than a block of chocolate. Eggs in general for me. Well, no, not normal eggs. Anything. Yeah, I know. Egg-related you love.

2:24Ant McPartlin:If you're anything in the shape of an egg, I'm in.

2:27Declan Donnelly:Not wearing your ears? No. Oh, okay. Killjoy. Do I have to? No, you don't have to. That's how fun you are. You're obviously not feeling very fun today. Not really. He's not a fun guy today. Everybody else has got ears on here.

2:40Ant McPartlin:Sexy's got them. Nice has got them. Heckler's Corner, they've all got their ears. Look. There's little chicks everywhere. Maybe I'm being a bit left out. Look, Fiona's got one little ear like that. I'm shy. She's a shy bunny. You should go one little bent ear there in the corner. Shall I put them on?

2:58Declan Donnelly:Yeah, go on then. That'll do. There you are. Happy Easter. Happy Easter, everybody. What is wrong? I just, I don't go for things. Well, like you're dressed up for World Book Day. Yeah, I do. You're dressed up as the fox. Yeah. You get dressed up every Halloween. You love Halloween. He hates dressing up. One thing about Dec, he hates fancy dress. Hates it.

3:18Ant McPartlin:Hates it.

3:19Declan Donnelly:Yeah.

3:19Ant McPartlin:Doesn't find the fun in it at all. Hate it. if I get an invite through and people go oh somebody's having a party oh it's fancy dress why would you do that to people?

3:31Declan Donnelly:I always said Woody from Toy Story would be a very good fancy dress outfit for Dec wouldn't it though? it would there's a snake in my boot yeah see he knows the words and I can be Buzz Lightyear yes that would be good yes let's do a Halloween special I'll be Buzz Lightyear you can be Woody from Toy Story Why are you doing that? Oh, because already I'm dreading it. Okay, well, we'll put it out to the viewers. If you'd like to see it, just let us know. Buzz Lightyear and Woody. Or if you can't be bothered to watch it, just let us know and we won't do it. They're definitely going to want to watch us do that now.

4:06Declan Donnelly:Definitely. Before we get cracking, can I just say... Cracking. What? Cracking. Why do you say it like that? Before we get cracking... Cracking. Why do you say it like that? It's Easter. Yeah, I know. Before we get started... started. Cracking. Can I just say, April Fools! The picture of Decker with a beard yesterday was photoshopped. It wasn't real because we all know he can't grow a beard.

4:31Ant McPartlin:I can grow a beard. What? I just haven't got time at the moment. He doesn't have time to grow a beard. But I hope we fooled you with our April Fool with my big bushy beard. Sorry if I upset you with any of that. You did look very rugged

4:47Declan Donnelly:and dishy though. You should grow one. Thank you. If you could. if you could I can do you like April Fools we got into trouble years ago didn't we on Saturday mornings we got in real trouble when we did an April Fools live on Saturday morning because we realised that the Saturday morning was going to be April Fools and we I think we realised on the Friday

5:07Ant McPartlin:it was Friday night we realised oh my god it's April Fools summer we have to do something we've got to do something on the show I'm like we're probably never going to be on air on April Fools again because obviously it goes on a day every year and we weren't going to be there seven years later to do it again. This is an amazing opportunity. We must do something on April Fool's Day, live on Saturday morning, kids telly.

5:27Declan Donnelly:And then we all sat down and went, what can we do? And everything we thought of had been done before or was too obvious and was, you know, kind of see-through. You could tell it was an April Fool's gag and we were scratching our heads for a while. The deck went, I know, I'll faint. What do you mean? I'll pretend faint on the telly and then I'll see April Fool's. so I think we were doing

5:49Ant McPartlin:was it like we were doing the postbag dance or something and I go a bit queasy I go a bit queasy and then I faint and then we did it that the camera goes to the side and the floor manager rushes in and we wanted to make it look really really real so then we did it went to Sabrina the Teenage Witch or whatever it was and we were in the studio preparing for the next bit and the executive producer runs in and goes the phones are going crazy people are ringing up is he alright is he but the kids were really upset

6:16Declan Donnelly:watching it I think there was there was complaints off com eventually so we had to do it

6:22Ant McPartlin:we had to do April Fool when we came back and I was sorry if anybody was upset by that and then obviously after that there was a bit of a press storm around it so this was before social media and there was like

6:34Declan Donnelly:official complaints after it

6:35Ant McPartlin:I went back to Newcastle the following day for the weekend and I got off the plane in Newcastle and I was walking past the newsagents and on the front of the local paper up there was the headline in the Sunday Sun and it just said we thought Dec was dead. And there's our little kids on the front crying. I was like, oh my God.

6:55Declan Donnelly:April Fool's.

6:57Ant McPartlin:This has gone so badly wrong.

7:01Declan Donnelly:This is an advert for Santander who understand that getting started on a goal isn't easy and embracing messy beginnings is how progress happens.

7:10Ant McPartlin:Now I was thinking, you know we talked the other week about when starting SMTV Live and how it was chaotic and messy. Messy. Messy beginning. How we didn't know really what we were doing for a couple of months before it became a hit. I was thinking, though, about previous to that, your Biker Grove audition story. I mean, that nearly didn't happen because you didn't want to take the first step in auditioning for the show.

7:31Declan Donnelly:Yeah, I was too... So what happened was I was too nervous. I'd done a first audition at school when the producers came to the school. And then I got a letter saying, come for a second audition, the big proper audition down at the studio. But I got too nervous. And I hid the letter and I wasn't going to audition because the nerves got the better of us and I wasn't even going to start. But my friend told my mother about it and she frog-marched me down there and said, just take a chance. Take that first step. And if you don't want it, if you get the job and you don't want it, that's fair enough. But if you don't take that first step, you'll never know and you'll kick yourself forever.

8:08Ant McPartlin:And that would be the worst thing is not knowing when wondering whether you'd have got the part if you hadn't have done it. This podcast wouldn't have existed.

8:17Declan Donnelly:And if I'd waited for the perfect time, I would never have done it. Yeah, well, there is never a perfect time. There's never a perfect time for anything. You've just got to do it. Just get started and see where it takes you.

8:24Ant McPartlin:Beginnings are never perfect. And that's why now is perfect. And Santander have the support you need to start a day and improve step by step. Santander, it starts here. What have you been up to? Oh, OK. I've passed the Easter trap. Well, there's no one to say about it. it's lovely outside what have I been up to yeah I've been out

8:46Declan Donnelly:in the spring lovely playing with the kids in the garden which is lovely it makes such a difference when the sun comes out it's lovely isn't it I absolutely adore it I'll tell you what I did do go on my youngest daughter Poppy has just passed a driving test first time by the way congrats woo well done Poppy and she is driving to school which is wonderful so no more it's mad isn't it no more school runs it's crazy so we wave her off in the morning but she's got that thing you know when you first past your driving test where you have the fear of running out of petrol. And she keeps ringing us when she gets to school.

9:19Declan Donnelly:It's gone down the bar. It's gone, I said, you'll be fine. Once it hits red, you'll be like, you've got like 20 miles, 30 miles. It's gone down again. So I had to take her to the garage last night. It's a very proud moment, this. I had to take her to the garage and show her how to put petrol in the car. I know, it's nice, isn't it? Something you don't even think about, isn't it? She's like, what do I do? I've got no idea what to do. I was like, Have you never looked up from the backseat in all the years I've been driving? No, they don't. Plainly not. So, yeah, we went in. I explained to her that.

9:46Declan Donnelly:Did you know this? You know this. But if you look at your dashboard and where you can see the little petrol sign on your dash, there's an arrow pointing, left or right. So the way it's pointing is where your fuel cap is on the car. Yeah, she didn't know that. Not many people do know that. You see, we've got handy hints as well. Yeah, you see. What a podcast this is. So I explained that to her. So she's like, it's on the right-hand side. I said, that's your side. So pull in with your fuel. When you pull up the thing. Yeah, pull up with, so the pumps are on your right-hand side. So she put the petrol in, went and paid for herself, signed her up for a point.

10:20Declan Donnelly:So every time she fills up with petrol, she gets points. Gets money off. What did points make? Yeah. Money off, money off. Money off. Money off. It was good. That's it, really. Oh, that's nice. Apart from that, quite quiet, but a very proud moment. Oh, that's lovely. Yeah, it's good, isn't it?

10:32Ant McPartlin:You? It's everywhere I've been. Rocky had a bit of a mishap on a walk, so he's hurt back again. And the miniature Dachshunds have very fragile backs. So I had to take him down to see Supervet. Noel. Noel Fitzpatrick. Noel Fitzpatrick. The actual Supervet.

10:47Declan Donnelly:The actual Supervet. Did he get a selfie?

10:49Ant McPartlin:So Noel operated on his back. I did, actually. Did he? Noel operated on his back about 10 years ago. And so we took him back down to see Noel. Right. And you turn up at the place. I have to say, it is incredible down there. The work that they do. Right, yeah. And the people down there. He's brilliant. The expertise that they have down there is second to none. And I had a real super vet moment when I turned up and we pulled in the car park and I got the car and I was walking in and out of the doors came a dog and it had like a bandage around one arm and three legs on the ground. And on the fourth leg was a wheel.

11:20Ant McPartlin:And he was walking along and wheeling his other leg along. And he was like, is that not just the most super vet thing you've ever seen? I was like, it was like I was in an episode of super vet, But the dog was dead happy and his tail was wagging. And it's like, he'd obviously been through something really traumatic. But Noel and the team had done this amazing work, fixed this dog. And he was off with his little wheel, toddling along. It was like, it was exactly that. It was kind of teared me up. Also, you kind of go, oh my God, this dog now has a new lease of life. Tears of joy. Tears of joy. So yeah, we took Rocky down.

11:52Ant McPartlin:Noel was brilliant with him as per MRI'd him, looked at his spine, all of that. and so he's on rest medication. Right. He's on the mend. Good. Yeah, shout out to Nolan and all the people down at Fitzpatrick for doing such an incredible job. It's just amazing what they do down there. Are you going to be on the telly? I don't think I'm going to be on the telly. That's a shame. I don't think my story was interested enough. It's like, come on, Rocky, for goodness sake. But you're on telly. Like, it'd be good.

12:19Declan Donnelly:It's like a double win.

12:20Ant McPartlin:If I was... So it's a good dog story

12:21Declan Donnelly:because he's helped heal your dog, but you're on telly. Right, I see. You're already on telly. Yeah. It would be like a celebrity special, wouldn't it? Yeah.

12:31Ant McPartlin:It would be nice to be on the telly. It would. It's always nice to be on the telly. But like a couple of weeks ago, do you remember we went to the Chelsea-Newcastle game at Stamford Bridge and it was live on Sky and you sit there in the stands and you're watching the game and suddenly your phone blows up and there's loads of people going, you've just been on the telly! You've just been on the telly!

12:49Declan Donnelly:We actually got loads of messages about that. Really? Everyone was really annoyed because you were sitting the wrong way around. We were sitting the wrong way around. We were sitting the wrong way around and there was a shot of me kissing my wife and then someone said, Dex is going to be furious about that.

13:02Ant McPartlin:It's like, but it is saving for the bedroom or the kitchen or whatever you do. You don't have to do with the football. We just won.

13:07Declan Donnelly:We're celebrating with a kiss. People also wanted to know what you were telling Ali

13:12Ant McPartlin:about the ceiling or something. What? I have no idea. There was a long shot of you explaining something. What's there? Mansplaining a ceiling.

13:24Declan Donnelly:Mansplaining clouds. What's there? Oh, I know what it might have been. There's a screen. Oh, there's a screen up above. At Stanford Bridge, when you're in the direct box, they've got screens so they can watch the replay. So it might have been that. You might have been pointing at that.

13:38Ant McPartlin:I might have been pointing at something on the telly. Maybe I was going, I think I've just been on the telly.

13:42Declan Donnelly:Is I'm kissing?

13:45Ant McPartlin:But yeah, when you're not supposed to be on the telly, like something like that, I get loads of texts of people going, you're on the telly. You've just been on the telly.

13:52Declan Donnelly:And it's really exciting. The best ever was when Newcastle won the Carabao Cup final and ITV and Sky had the coverage of it. But we were on ITV's coverage loads and it was, I mean, we were crying, we were jumping on down, we were celebrating because we won. But that was very good to be part of that. In our own little way, we were part of the win. But then after that, I saw loads of edits of our win on TikTok and people put like really like emotional music over it. Of me and you hugging. There's also, no, but like the win, It's Dan Byrne with a header and they're talking and the music's re - and I'm like, oh my God.

14:29Declan Donnelly:I'm in it and I'm crying.

14:32Ant McPartlin:It's mad how excited people get when we get on the telly.

14:36Declan Donnelly:Since it's Easter, I've got you something. A prezzi. Maybe. Let me just have a look at my draw.

14:44Ant McPartlin:A prezzi for me at Easter time. What is it? What is it? Since you love eggs.

14:52Declan Donnelly:Yes. Yeah. I got you yes just some eggs oh got your six eggs there you go

14:57Ant McPartlin:actually I'm delighted with that

14:57Declan Donnelly:yeah happy happy Easter oh look they're good ones as well are they good ones how do you know they're good ones oh dark brown shells I got them from a farmer oh yeah is that why proper farm eggs yeah you see farm eggs you could crack one up and eat one now if you want but I would rather you didn't because that would disgust me oh they're good don't let's don't do that we don't want eggy smells in here but I did also get you a chocolate egg oh that's your favourite as well buttons, Cadbury's buttons. Happy Easter.

15:24Ant McPartlin:That is really kind of you. Look at that. That is nice and small. What?

15:31Declan Donnelly:I took it out of the box.

15:33Ant McPartlin:Oh, I suppose. Was the box really big?

15:34Declan Donnelly:Yeah, the box is really big.

15:36Ant McPartlin:Alright. Yeah. Well, I got you an egg as well. Do you want it now?

15:39Declan Donnelly:Yes, please. Yes. I bloody love Easter and I bloody love Easter eggs. Please, please, please, please, please, please, please be right. If you know me, if you know me, if you know me if you know oh my god yes yes yes is that what you wanted yes is this galaxy it is yes he knows me very well now the way we crack it in our house is do you genuinely every time even the kids do it crack it on my head yeah yeah well crack on your head yeah everyone cracks it on my head i've got That's quite sore. Go on. That was very gentle. Oh, my God. Was it good? Oh, my God. If you're just listening, this hasn't been in the fridge as much as I'd like, but there's still a little crack there.

16:34Declan Donnelly:The cracking of the egg. Oh, God, yeah, this is so good. This is like ASMR, me eating chocolate. I love chocolate. Look at that. And I had no breakfast, so literally this is the first thing I've eaten today. It'll be like Easter Sunday. That is like Easter. Yeah. Here you go. Have a listen to this. Mmm. Huh? Go on.

16:56Ant McPartlin:Mine's not crunchy.

16:59Declan Donnelly:Yeah, sorry.

17:00Ant McPartlin:It was mine's too soft.

17:02Declan Donnelly:It was in me bag. I got it from the garage last night when I went with Poppy to get a bet roll.

17:10Ant McPartlin:Oh, that's lovely. Well, I hope you're enjoying your eggs wherever you are. Yeah. Happy Easter, guys. Happy Easter, everyone. What the heck? We've got a paper plane in.

17:20Declan Donnelly:from Heckler's Corner. Ever noticed how many Easter eggs there are in films? Would you like some examples? Yes, I would. The hidden Mickeys in Disney Pixar films. For decades, Disney animators have took that iconic three-circle silhouette of Mickey Mouse in the background of almost every film, from the bubbles in Cinderella to the maps in Zootopia. Did you know that? No, I did not know that. I didn't know that. That's a good one. Since the 80s, George Lucas and Steven Spielberg have hidden cross-franchise references in plain sight, the most famous examples are the hieroglyphics of R2-D2 and C-3PO and Raiders of the Lost Ark Snake Pit and the club Obi-Wan nightclub in the Temple of Dune.

17:59Declan Donnelly:In return, the Indiana Jones Golden Idol appears as a trophy in Solo, A Star Wars Story. Oh, time for the diary, is it? Diary's out. Just whipped it out. Just whipped out his diary. Got it here. Last week was very good. Last week was very good. I'm a bit afraid that we might be slightly underwhelmed by today's entry.

18:19Ant McPartlin:I think we might have a little bit of an excitement hangover. But that's okay.

18:23Declan Donnelly:That's life, isn't it? Some days you're up there, some days you're down there.

18:26Ant McPartlin:Now, last week we had a super duper jingle. We did. From Mr. and Mrs. Jemima. Yeah. Do we have another? Have we got a different one or are we going to go with that one again? We've got one from Dan. Dan has sent one. Dan, hit it. Dick's Diary.

18:39Declan Donnelly:1994. Before the fame, before the road. It's like Eurovision.

18:44Ant McPartlin:Flip that page, unlock the door. It's Dexstar in 94 Dexstar in 94

18:56Declan Donnelly:Play me for the road Flip that page

19:00Ant McPartlin:Unlock the door It's Dexstar in 94 Yeah!

19:06Declan Donnelly:Well done, Dan. Very Eurovision. Very good. Very 1994.

19:11Ant McPartlin:Very 1994. That's brilliant. That's like something we would perform on the Ms. Roadshow. Yeah, it is. It's like a Steps B-side. Yes. It is. I like it. It's the 8th of April, 1994. All right. Day 12 of Life on the Road. Seven and a half hours. London to Rochdale. Seven and a half hours. You brought it twice. I have, yeah. Shocked by that. I didn't like that journey. I was very wound up.

19:40Declan Donnelly:Boy, was I bored. Wow. Do you know what? I'm slightly offended. because I'm in the car with you. We have seven and a half hours. I know, but come on. You're that bored. No mobile phones. Yeah? No, no. Back then, we had mobile phones. We talked. We've been off for seven and a half hours. All right, all right. Fair enough.

19:59Ant McPartlin:By the time we found it, Matthew and his camera crew were there. Who? Matthew Robinson and his camera crew were there, ready to shoot their fly-on-the-wall documentary.

20:09Declan Donnelly:Oh, they did, yeah.

20:10Ant McPartlin:They did do a fly-on-the-wall documentary. And? Did we like it? Ooh, that'll be fun to do. Not.

20:19Ant McPartlin:I've got very cynical all of a sudden.

20:21Declan Donnelly:Oh, he really has. I don't know why. You're a cynical washed up pop star at this stage. Already.

20:25Ant McPartlin:You've only released two singles. Well, we haven't even done that. I've only been on the road 12 days. And already I'm over it. We had to do Why Me twice. Why? So they could get enough footage. Ah. Bah.

20:41Ant McPartlin:Bah. Bah. Bah. B-A-H. Bah! The crowd were brill, though. Oh, that's good. And they wanted to hear it again. The third time? Wow. Easily pleased or what? After the gig and eventually getting away, we arrived back in our hotel at 1.55am. What? So we only played two songs and we got in that late? I don't know where we went afterwards. We got into bed and asleep by three-ish. And an alarm call booked for 6.30am Made us dread the morning. Bah. Bah. Next episode will be the 9th of April, 1994. And it's on next week's show, which will come out on the 9th of April, 2026. What's that?

21:30Declan Donnelly:32 years.

21:32Ant McPartlin:To the day. And we've physically caught up with ourselves next week. It's just like an A24 movie. Isn't it? And we're doing live and kicking next week. With Andy Peters? I think so. Andy Peters, sadly not, Zoe Ball. Hello.

21:51Declan Donnelly:That was good. You're right, though. Slight hangover from the day before, but that's okay. You were at a curry house.

21:57Ant McPartlin:Yeah, we had a private jet, Radio 1 Roadshow, Blue Peter, and a day of Flying the Wall documentary. Well, they can't all be great days, can they? Life on the road, eh? Life on the road.

22:08Declan Donnelly:I watched a good movie at the weekend which I thought I would fill you in on Go on Give you a little banana rating on So there's been a lot of football on the telly recently hasn't there? Yeah a lot So I'm a bit A lot Outvoted when it comes to movies in my house at the minute So the movie that was chosen not by me but by the rest of the family was a movie called Eternity You heard of it? It's an A24 movie starring Elizabeth Olsen Callum Turner and Divine Joy Randolph So the premise, it's a good premise, very A24. So this guy dies, goes to the next place. Not necessarily heaven, just the next place before he chooses his eternity.

22:49Declan Donnelly:So there's a little hold in area, right? Before you choose the eternity for you.

22:54Ant McPartlin:Yes.

22:54Declan Donnelly:He hangs around because he's elderly when he dies. He hangs around for his wife to pass away so that they can choose eternity together. I have heard of this film. She passes away. Yes. She goes to the next place. meets him, there's a problem. Her ex-husband is also there. So will she go to Eternity with the current husband or the first husband? It's very good. Is it good? And I didn't think I'd like it. It's a bit rom-com-y. It's not really for me. I was a bit like, oh, I want to watch the trailer. But actually, it's good. Divine Joy Randolph is really funny. It reminds us of like, you know when you watched Ghost for the first time and Whoopi Goldberg was just hilarious in it.

23:36Declan Donnelly:But there was a, you know, it was a romantic comedy at heart. It's a bit like that. It's a romantic comedy at heart. Right. But with nice humour, well written. I'd give it like six and a half, seven belongings. Well, choose one.

23:47Ant McPartlin:Six and a half or seven.

23:49Declan Donnelly:Okay, six and a half. Six and a half. No, but I can imagine because it's probably 10 minutes too long. Talk to me about it. You could take 10 minutes out of it. Right. Because you get the gist. And who did she choose? Well, I'm not going to tell you and give it away, am I? I just saved me watching it. But the whole point of you having an eternity that you have to choose, and is it going to be like golf eternity or beach eternity or woodland eternity? Like you could pick a place that you could spend eternity in. What would you pick? That got me thinking.

24:20Ant McPartlin:This podcast studio? Because it feels like I'm in this for an eternity. At the moment. Not like golf? Oh, no, yeah.

24:29Declan Donnelly:Would you be beachy? Beachy. Because the two options she has is like a beach paradise eternity. And the other one is her other husband really enjoys outdoors. So he likes skiing. He likes mountains. He likes trekking. So she kind of has to choose between the two. Oh, I'd go beachy. Yeah, you'd go beachy. Beachy eternity. Yeah. So yeah, six and a half banana ratings. Whack it on there. Great. Very good. Get watching. Ali would like it. Will she? Yeah, she will. She's very hard to please. Is she? Yeah, very. Does she look like a rom-com? She loves a rom-com. Does she like kissing?

25:00Ant McPartlin:Don't know.

25:05Ant McPartlin:we'll give that a try yeah you should you should too and then we'll watch the film yeah yeah I was thinking and as it's Easter as well we're rating everything a lot it's quite heavily skewed towards the bananas well yeah because it's banana rating

25:22Declan Donnelly:because it's skewed I wonder whether

25:23Ant McPartlin:we do anything for eggs what do you mean is there an eggy kind of rating we can give things like like what like a dozen eggs to shaking up a bit?

25:33Declan Donnelly:We don't want to shake it up. We're just getting it going. Are we? We're just getting it going, getting people rating things like on TripAdvisor and restaurants they've been to. They're just starting to, movies, TV shows, they're just starting to rate things in bananas. Why are you bringing eggs into it now? Just for a bit of a change. We don't want to change. We like the bananas. It can be an addition to. Right. If you want. Well, what have you watched recently? Small Profits. Oh yeah, is it good? I loved it. Yeah? What would you give it? So what's the total? a dozen? A dozen eggs. That's a lot, isn't it?

26:04Declan Donnelly:A lot. Go on, though. A dozen eggs, what would you give it? I'd probably give it a dozen eggs. You'd give it 12 out of 12? I think I would, yeah. Would you? Yeah. It's so good. I haven't watched it yet. I'll watch it.

26:13Ant McPartlin:It's so good. Okay. You've got to see it. Right. Mackenzie Crook directs it. I think he wrote it, directed it. Yeah. Plays a brilliant part in it as well. Michael Palin's in it, who's brilliant, playing the main character's father. What's the premise? Well, it's quite difficult to explain. Please try. If you're going to stop making things and eggs, you need to come prepared, my friend. Mayor Carradine works in a hardware store. His father is in an old people's home and talks of days gone by about how he was an explorer and used to travel the world. He's a scientist. Right. And he's got these old books, old journals about how you can conjure up these small prophets.

26:54Ant McPartlin:They're almost like seahorse creatures. And they can tell you your future. They can answer you one question, but they will answer it truthfully. Where do they live? Well, this is the thing. And he's thinking, my dad's a bit doolally, but I'll do this just to please him. Right. And lo and behold, he starts growing small prophets in his garden shed. They start to take shape and the neighbors start getting wind of what he's doing. Like, what's he doing in that shed? So anyway, it's the story of him growing these small profits and getting to ask them or preparing to ask them one question that they will answer him truthfully that he really wants to know the answer to.

27:33Ant McPartlin:I don't want to tell you too much more, but it's just really gentle. It's really warm, really sweet, so very watchable. Everybody in it is brilliant. it's just so lovely. Feel good. Yeah? 12 bananas. 12? No, what is it? A dozen eggs. We're back to bananas. A dozen eggs.

27:55Declan Donnelly:Eight bananas. Eight bananas and a dozen eggs. Yeah. For small profits. Watch it. Very good. It's brilliant. Okay.

28:03Ant McPartlin:Is the map back this week? We've got our map. Good. I'm going to do the UK. World map? No, UK today. Okay. We've got people listening and lots of fun places Good. around the UK. Let's hear it. Oh, there's a chick on the map. There's a little chick on the map. We've got the Woolley family. Hi, Woolley family. I don't think they're a bunch of sheep. No? I think they're just a family called the Woolies. They're living in Parbold. Where's that? In Lancashire. Lancashire. So that's here somewhere.

28:31Declan Donnelly:Yeah. There you go. Greater Manchester. Ever been? Never been. Never been to Parbold? Well, I don't think so. I would have remembered that name. You've been to Blackpool. Been to Blackpool. Been to Manchester. Been to Preston. Yeah, we know that area pretty well.

28:42Ant McPartlin:Never been to Parbold. Never. Invite us. We'll stay. Natalie is listening in Norton Canes. Where's that? Near Canock. Hello, Natalie. Becky is in Widness. Widness. Yeah, I know where Widness is. In Cheshire. Cheshire, yep. So that must be here.

28:57Declan Donnelly:There they are. Have you been? Don't know if I've been a witness. No? No funny stories about service stations or sandwiches? No.

29:03Ant McPartlin:No. Got to save that for Canock. Okay. Meg is in Otterley. Where's Otterley? I know Otterley. West Yorkshire. West, yes.

29:13Declan Donnelly:So that must be here, up near Wakey. Yeah, near Wakefield. Have we passed through there before? We've been to Otterley? I think we've been to Otterley. I'm sure we've been to Otterley. Yeah, we have. We had loads of fun. Can't remember it now, though. Gemma is in Shetland. Shetland? Like the ponies? Yes. Whoa. It's all the way up there, isn't it? Look at that. Look where the Shetland Islands are. Do you get reception up there?

29:36Ant McPartlin:Can you hear us? Can you hear us in Shetland? Can you hear us? Have you got any service? What time is it there?

29:45Declan Donnelly:Never been to Shetland? Don't think so. Me neither. Invite me round. Our office still stands. If you invite us round, you get a big shop in, clean the sheets, and there is an ensuite bathroom. We will stay at your house. And you have to have Wi-Fi.

29:59Ant McPartlin:Wi-Fi. No chance up there. Wi-Fi.

30:01Declan Donnelly:In Shetland? No Wi-Fi? Not in Shetland. Nah. What time is it there? How do you get there, even? Is there an airport in Shetland? Or is it all by boat? These are the answers we need to know, Shetland. Please get in touch. Do you have a Greggs? Do you reckon you've got a Greggs in Shetland? There's Greggs everywhere, isn't there? Is there one in Shetland? Bound to be. If there is, send us a picture. As of late 2024, there are no Greggs in Shetland. There's no Greggs in Shetland. I'm sorry, I can't go. I can't. That's pub paid to that, isn't it? That's your fallback. If you don't like what they're cooking, they'll be able to get a sausage roll.

30:31Declan Donnelly:You can't do it.

30:32Ant McPartlin:Do you know how many Greggs there are in the UK? 472. 620. And 20.

30:38Declan Donnelly:As of late 2025, over 2 ,600 Greggs. 2 ,600 Greggs! I tell you what, there's a TV show on that. Us visiting every Greggs in the UK. Isn't there? There is. There is. There's a YouTube show on that. We should do it on Bellabox. Oh my God, Greggs every day.

30:56Ant McPartlin:I still can't get my head around that the Greggs in Newcastle are the only places that sell Stotties. Yeah. Do you know what a Stottie is? Stottie cake, Stottie bread.

31:04Declan Donnelly:It's like a big bap that you can slice up and make sandwiches with. Or toast, very good for toast as well.

31:10Ant McPartlin:I think we need to start a campaign for Greg's to roll out Stottie cakes all over their 2 ,600 branches. Free the Stottie. Roll out the Stottie. Let's get it trending. Show us your Stottie. Whip out your Stottie.

31:28Declan Donnelly:Does your man bring you your Stotties when she comes down from Newcastle? Yeah. Yeah, same here. I've got some in the freezer. Got them in the freezer as well, yeah.

31:33Ant McPartlin:Every now and again I go, special occasion, I'm going to defrost a stotty.

31:40Declan Donnelly:It's wild in his house, I tell you, wild. Whoa, that was a good airplane that's come in there. With the breaking news. It says. What does it say? Oh, look in the drawers behind you. We've had some SAEs.

31:57Ant McPartlin:Come on, Deck, have a look. Got some stamped envelopes here. One for Gemma, who's in Telford. Right. She sent us a letter, stamped a dress envelope. Hope you're both well. I'm writing to beg you, please, to tell me how much Anne's pants cost. Great. The amount of time I've spent thinking about it since you first discussed it on the podcast is getting out of hand. Really? I'm worried for my mental health.

32:18Declan Donnelly:I'm worried for your mental health. You shouldn't be thinking about me and my pants so much.

32:22Ant McPartlin:I live in Shropshire, so there's very little chance of me bumping into Anne at his local butcher's. Agreed. Also, I'm vegetarian. Well, there's very little chance. It's never going to happen. Yeah, very little chance. Please, please, please. Can you find it within your hearts to tell me, please? Yes, I can. I've enclosed an SAE and a tear-off strip for you. Here, she's got a strip. Go on, then. So at the bottom it says... Has she perforated it? Not really. But she has done little lines. Oh, OK, that's good. I've enclosed an SAE and a tear-off slip to complete to make it super easy. I literally don't know what more I can do.

32:51Ant McPartlin:Respect, guys. Love, Gemma. Gemma. So you've got a little slip there. Respect to you, I will write down. We can confirm.

32:57Declan Donnelly:We can confirm that Anthony McPartland's pants cost. And I will write the figure in here without telling you. Oh, I should do the exact figure. Shall I put jet skis on there as well? I've got to sign it as well. You've got to sign it? She's left a little thing for me. Sign for authenticity. Yes, that's right. I'll sign it here. Witnessed by? Could you witness that please, Declan?

33:19Ant McPartlin:Witnessing that.

33:21Declan Donnelly:Okay. I mean, I could just send her a whole letter back.

33:24Ant McPartlin:Yeah, you don't have to tear it.

33:25Declan Donnelly:Well, let's. That made quite a good fist to that. How good was that? That was very good. That was very good. Okay, let's pop it back in there as you read the other one.

33:34Ant McPartlin:I am on deck. I know I'm breaking the pledge, sorry, but I live all the way in Weatherby near Leeds. Oh, yeah. I won't bump into you both, but I want to ask the million banana question. How much are ants pants? Respect, guys. Kayleigh Kavanagh. So I'll just witness this in advance to save that. Okay. There you go.

33:52Declan Donnelly:I'll also sign it and put the figure above it. Should I do jet skis on here as well? Okay. Okay, there we go. pledge complete good into the envelope

34:00Ant McPartlin:they go into the envelope

34:01Declan Donnelly:and we'll get them posted some minion will run to the post box are we now saying ah ooh ooh paper cut paper cut

34:08Ant McPartlin:are we now saying what are we now saying that if people from the UK then write to you with a standardized envelope you're going to send them how much your pants were yeah instead of getting bored of it

34:18Declan Donnelly:and I'm not bored of it I'm like into it I'm really into it right now so get cracking keep the comment in if you wait a couple of weeks

34:25Ant McPartlin:no chance This is an advert for Gemini, Google's personal AI assistant. Beat the butchers again. Have you? Obvs.

34:34Declan Donnelly:I want to do something different.

34:36Ant McPartlin:You need some inspiration. I need some inspiration, so I thought we could ask Gemini. What would be really inspirational is to get something that you could do with meat, but then combine your love of bananas. Yes, yes. Ask Gemini. All right. Gemini, can you give us some examples of dishes from around the world that combine meat and bananas. Yes, yes, yes. You can find meat and banana in various cuisines. The easiest one would probably be a simple Caribbean stew. Mmm. Caribbean stew. I like it. I like that. What other foods could you pair bananas with, Gemini? Bananas pair quite well with warm spices like cinnamon, nutmeg and clove.

35:17Ant McPartlin:They also contrast nicely with tangy flavours like lime or orange. For something savoury, they can be a great addition to dishes with pork or chicken, balancing the richness.

35:29Declan Donnelly:Pork and banana. I would never have thought that. I'm going to do that. I'm going to do a pork and banana dish. With Gemini, you can chat with a truly helpful AI assistant. You jump in, brainstorm ideas, ask for more details. You can even show it what you're talking about. It's there for a real chat, not just a quick question and done. I think Anne should have a tattoo of the painting he did of Simon Cowell. Oh, God, no. That's from Caroline. Oh, God, no. That would be a great tattoo. You know it's him though, don't you? That was my best work. If you haven't seen that, if you're just listening, have a look at, on Belted Box, at our celebrity portrait when we paint Simon Cowell. And this one, he has a... You've got a real problem with skin tone, haven't you?

36:56Declan Donnelly:What? He's always that colour. He's been a Bobbettos.

Then we can give it, anybody else who'd like to watch it as well who hasn't seen it, watch Alien Autopsy, send us your banana rating, then we'll collate all the banana ratings and then we can have an official rating for Alien Autopsy. And don't just be needlessly cruel. No, there's no need. With your ratings. There's no need. but yeah if you're at home and you've got a bit of spare time join in this could be the first thing that we that we review together

40:07Declan Donnelly:No, I'm not thinking anywhere.

40:08Ant McPartlin:Is that not happening?

40:09Declan Donnelly:Right down on the legs. That's further down there. Of what? On the calf? Yeah, on the calf. That's as high as he can ever go. Simon Cowell, never above the knee. And then we've got the whole sheet. Well, you've got them. I was hoping that we could cut them out and put them in different places. But I tell you what, because I like them, let's put it on this left pec. Put it on the left pec deck. Roger that. At the minute, Nicole, you are, I think you could be winning. It's you and the boomerang.

40:44Declan Donnelly:Let me get rid of the body. I'll bring this out and you get the post bag. You get rid of the body. Oh. Oh. Oh. I nearly went then. I nearly went. I nearly went. I really struggle with sitting down in chairs. Struggle with chairs.

40:59Ant McPartlin:Let me get the post bag. Get the post bag. Got lots of letters this week to get through. Okay. Let's dive in to the post bag.

41:05Declan Donnelly:These chicks are everywhere. Look, there's chicks everywhere. Hello baby! Hello baby! Hello baby! Shall I start? Aye we are. This one says, Arid, lads. Arid. Arid. Over the years, you've done loads with the Prince's Trust and I want to know what your mate King Charlie's like. Were you nervous when you met him for the first time and what do you talk about when you see him? Respect, guys. Rob in Bridge End, Northumberland.

41:30Ant McPartlin:We first met him about, well, it was 25 years ago. It was? When we interviewed him for 25 years at the Prince's Trust, and we went to Highgrove House to meet him and interview him in the garden. And we were really, really super duper nervous. And he was really relaxed and put us at our ease. And he called us in first, didn't he? He said, I want to meet you off camera first. So we get to know each other a little bit before the cameras start rolling. So we went in and sit in this room and he comes in and he shook our hands and we sit down. and then they bring in this massive tray with a big teapot, teacups on it, biscuits and stuff.

42:06Ant McPartlin:And we sit there and he's talking to us and saying, you know, thank you for coming and doing all this. I'm sitting there and going, who's going to pour the tea? Like, he's not going to do it. And do we do it? Are we supposed to do this? Like, should one of us just dive in and go, let me do that.

42:24Declan Donnelly:Or is that breaking royal protocol? Should you always let, you know?

42:28Ant McPartlin:And I was really distracted because I was like, who's going to deal with the tea? Has this been left for us to do? Because he's not going to do it. He's, at the time he was Prince Charles, he was, he's going to be the next king. So have we got to do this? And I was really distracted through the whole thing. I kind of wasn't listening to what he was saying because I was too worried about, do we have to pour the tea? And obviously they're letting it stew for a bit and then a footman comes in. I wasn't stewing as much as you were. Who's going to pour this tea? I was really worried about the tea. Then eventually somebody came in, got the cups out and started pouring the tea.

43:03Ant McPartlin:That was a relief. Was it good tea?

43:06Declan Donnelly:Very good tea. Good tea, good biscuits, high growth biscuits. Shortbread. Oh, yeah. Really sugary shortbread. No jaffa cakes. No jaffa cakes. No ginger snaps.

43:16Ant McPartlin:And then we went out into the garden and interviewed him in the garden. And he was the loveliest, loveliest man. He's brilliant, wasn't he?

43:22Declan Donnelly:And since then, we've interviewed him quite a few times. and we followed him around for 40 years of the Prince's Trust, which we did 10 years ago, where we spent a year of his life, where every couple of months we'd meet up with him at a different event. We'd pop up and we'd follow him. And we ended up staying at his castle in Scotland, where we stayed for the night, which was amazing. Do you remember when we went to the restaurant? Everybody always offers him food.

43:50Ant McPartlin:Everywhere he goes.

43:51Declan Donnelly:Everywhere we went, people are offering him food or snacks or something. and he never eats it. And I said to him, I said, why don't you eat it? It looked really tasty. He said, if I ate everything that was offered to me, he says, I'd be huge. He says, I said, well, I'll eat it. So everywhere we went, I ate it instead of him. And then he said to me at one point, he went, I'm going to get you a spoon made. To hang around your neck. To hang around your neck like my official taster. He said, you could be the royal taster. I'd love that. I'd get you a spoon made for around your neck. I never did get the spoon, did I?

44:22Declan Donnelly:Didn't get the spoon. I would genuinely love to be his royalty hester. But we love the Prince's Trust, which is now the King's Trust. So much that we've got our own course with the Prince's Trust, the King's Trust now, are making it a media course where we get people into TV media. And we've done that for the last...

44:39Ant McPartlin:Five, six years?

44:40Declan Donnelly:Five, six years now. Yeah. We've had lots of young people getting to tell you and the media. It's great. We really believe in what they do. We really believe in the trust. What they stand for. Yeah, what they stand for. It's wonderful.

44:54Ant McPartlin:Yeah, it's brilliant. And he's really passionate about it as well. He's still passionate about it 50 years on. He started with his pension check from the Navy. I think he got like£3 ,000. Yeah. And he put that into starting up this trust. And 50 years later, it's helped over a million young people get into education or employment or training. So it's done an amazing job. And he's still as passionate about it today as he was 50 years ago.

45:16Declan Donnelly:And every year for the last, I think we've hosted it now for 12 years, they celebrate success awards which is an annual event where people who have been through the Prince's Trust now the King's Trust get celebrated and people win awards so we we host that every year we're hosting it again this year yeah it's at the Royal Outlook Hall this year for the 50th anniversary it's going to be a big old concert good one do you remember like the coronation? oh god yes I do remember the coronation like there was a really weird shot of me at the coronation

45:48Ant McPartlin:I don't think I've seen that doing this something like that it went viral didn't it there was a shot of us at the coronation waiting for it all to start and yeah and you were kind of twitching a bit pulling a face I was ADHD in a way what was that?

46:07Declan Donnelly:I don't know I've got no idea I don't know what the face was I don't know what I was thinking about I don't know whether I was pretending to be one of the goggles on the on the Westminster Abbey or I was just thinking about something smiling. But I was so much, it was everywhere. And I kept seeing it on TikTok and Instagram. People kept sending it to us as if I really wanted to see it again. And I was boarding a flight up to Newcastle and the air student was like, he says, how did you feel when your TikTok blew up? And I thought you meant something that we'd done together. And I was like, oh, which one's that?

46:40Declan Donnelly:Which funny one's that? You're writing your face at the coronation. Yeah, thanks. Thanks for bringing that up. So to answer your question, I have no idea why I pulled that face. next question

46:49Ant McPartlin:next question got one from M hi M she says dearest Anton Deck dearest dearest oh very formal it's very nice do you ever look at things without a face and see a face for instance seeing Jesus in your toast or a face in a cloud yes you know that kind of thing yeah I do imagine my surprise when a picture of our nine month old woofer stretching after her evening stroll was taken and sent to our family whatsapp I saw it immediately and felt the need to share it with you please tell me I'm not going mad. 47:30Declan Donnelly:It's a dog's bumhole. My face My face is not a dog's bumhole. No, you can't see my face in a dog's bumhole. No, you're still telling me I didn't squint. Shut up! All of you, shut up. There's his eyes. I can see Chewbanger.

48:18Declan Donnelly:I don't care what she's called.

48:20Ant McPartlin:She does go on to say, I hope this is received in the manner it was meant. How was it meant? Offensive? Yeah? No, it was from M. Thank you, M. No, thank you, M. Never again. Got one from Katie Gibson. She says, Dear Ant and Dec, I'm writing following on from the two ice sculptures to share a picture of these two kangaroos named Ant and Dec at my local farm, only with a slight twist. At High Farm near Bishop Auckland when their wallabies first arrived they called them Ant and Deck because we thought they were both bouncy little Geordie blokes. Then one day a tiny Joey popped its head out of a pouch so Ant and Deck quickly became Anthea and Declan.

49:02Ant McPartlin:Ah! Let me see.

49:04Declan Donnelly:Ah! Anthea and Declan. Ah! They're cute. And one town's better than the other one. It is very similar to Ant and Deck.

49:15Ant McPartlin:It is. It's awesome.

49:16Declan Donnelly:Wallaby form. I like it. That's a nice wholesome letter, that. That is lovely. And we didn't spin them around and look at their bum holes.

49:22Ant McPartlin:Yeah, let's have a look. Now let's have a look at their arses.

49:26Declan Donnelly:And that, as they say, is that. That's it. So we've got time for it. Put your specs away.
