2:11Hello, everybody. Welcome back to The Hangout. For another bonus episode of Hanging Out with him and me, we have got some admin on the desk here that hasn't been gone through.

2:21Declan Donnelly:We're doing this again. We've got a file pile, a pile pile. And a pile of paper. And under the desk. A shredder. A shredder for any that we think are nonsense. We can just shred them here and then. There are a lot of notes from listeners and viewers, a lot of comments from a lot of the pods that we have to go through and decide what we're going to do with them. File, pile or shred? I think we filed... Too much. Too much. Because you've still got to deal with it further down the line. Yeah, you do. You do. At least with my piles, I just don't look at them very much. Right. There is that, yeah. Just pile it, and then we'll just step over it.

2:58Declan Donnelly:Yeah. Or shred it. Pile it or shred it. Unless we really think it's great. That's the only reason we've got to file it. Okay. All right? Right. We've got to be brutal, Dec. Let's get on with it. We've got to be brutal. Thank you, by the way, for all of your comments. Oh! All of you. Thank you, by the way. Wow. Are you okay? Is there anything you want to talk about? I'm hot. I don't like the heat I don't like I'm not very good with the heat you're not are you I'm not it makes us angry does it oh no it does it just makes us angry it does I can't help it I'm not I can't regulate me me moods no not me moods me heat very well right I saw a travel hack on Instagram and you love a travel hack I do like a travel hack so what you do is you get a necklace right so like why are you looking at me like that sexy you get a necklace alright I can wear a necklace.

3:50Declan Donnelly:I made you a necklace from a chain of shells. Well, it's not a chain of shells, but if you get the metal... Yeah. Shut up. You get the metal chain from a necklace. Put it in the freezer? No, you put it all over some ice cube trays. So you dip a little bit in the ice cube tray like that. So it goes like this. If you just listen, I'm kind of dipping it in and out of the ice cube tray. Like a tiny roller coaster. Then you pour water in, then you put it in the freezer, then you take it out and pull them all out. and it's a chain of ice cubes. That. Why haven't you made that for me, that lady? It sounds a-faffy.

4:26Declan Donnelly:Faffy? Faffy. It sounds fabulous. It sounds fa - Fabulous, I think you'll find. It sounds faffy and wet. Yeah. Yeah, that's the whole point. Oh, it cools it down. No, you can't go for lunch. You look like you've sweat patched. Yes. A wet t-shirt. You haven't thought this through. I'm not wearing a t-shirt at this point. What are you wearing? I'm naked. and so you've just got ice cubes running down your nippy nips yeah oh gosh this is taking a turn I just didn't think I could dress like that today if I get kicked out of the podcast studio and it wouldn't last very long would it no it wouldn't let's face it come on right put your specs on Mrs Kim Durham hi Kim no one acknowledging that Simon Cowell came to the decision to stop doing boring things whilst at lunch with Ant and Dec was there ever another lunch oh Oh, I get it.

5:18Declan Donnelly:It took me a little while then. Well, we have. We have. We have had lunch with him since. Very good thought though. Very good thought. Very good. From Durham. But no, we have had lunch with him. Not dinners. We haven't had dinner with him. We have met him various times in social occasions. So for that, I don't think we're boring. Actually, Kim. We always, I think we've told you this before, but we always have great food when we go out to Simon Paul's house. Jeff the chef. Jeff the chef. Nice. is a legend. Simon's Chef Jeff. Oh, and sometimes when we're doing TV shows, Jeff will send us a tuck box with loads of tasty treats like honeycomb chocolate.

5:58Declan Donnelly:Yeah. Cookies. Dubai chocolate cookies. He made cookies on the last, I think it was the final of Britain's Got Talent. It was, yeah. And we got a Tupperware box. So I was like, oh yeah, my lot will eat this because I think you're going somewhere. I'm not going to eat it. You have it. So I took it back. Anyway, I forgot about it and it was in my bag for three days and I was like oh no so I took it I put it on the side and I put the tuck box the tuck box on the side and I was going about my business in the kitchen as you do and I look round and Anzi my wife is eating the cookie right and she's like she went not great this time Jeff the chef I feel to see it was three days all the bean in my bag sweating away good letter good thoughts shred it oh we've dealt with it now we've dealt with it we've dealt with it we've talked about that's all she wants there we go fame and notoriety from this podcast next up Janet what you doing Janet this is just a really short one yeah but Janet doesn't matter how we take turns in life share learn how to share Janet says loads of pictures online of decking shorts says Janet prove it prove it prove it Janet where's did she send a photo exactly Exactly.

7:14Declan Donnelly:Thank you, Janet. She didn't send a photo. So how do we know he's even got legs? I'm going to keep that in a pile to deal with later. Hear me out. Ant Tattoo, a QR code linked into the podcast. Emma Devonport. Oh, Emma, that is a great idea. Yeah, it's a bit... What? It's a bit... I'm cringed, though, innit? It's a bit marketing. It's a bit like getting the tattoo of a Coca-Cola can on the side of your neck and Coke giving you money for it. you didn't mind isn't it is that a thing that's very specific yeah that's very specific who did that I'm trying to be specific who did somebody do that I don't think anyone's done it oh right right right I just think that that's I thought you were having to dig at somebody there it's a bit like that well you didn't mind somebody sticking a rosette on a pussy so yes a bit of guerrilla marketing yourself guerrilla marketing I'm not going to guerrilla marketing why would I want a guerrilla market is that what marketing how guerrilla market guerrilla market is it that sounds weird why would I want to grill and promote the podcast on my own body yeah what are you going to what I've got to pay myself I've never thought that are you just going to pay me no no no but then you get a benefit hmm don't know I've not thought this one through yeah we're not sure on that one ever not sure on that one pile it pile it or shred it no shred it shred it shred everything shred everything

8:39this one is from Milana Melania Trump? She listens? You're a listener? You're a fan? Hi. Hi, First Lady. This will probably get lost in the comments, but I genuinely think Ant and Dec are the fittest men on the planet. Why are you giggling? Because Melania Trump's written it. What does Donald think about that? And genuinely, their pop era is the most iconic thing in history. Eternal Love and Better Watch Out is my jam, and I should be allowed to be proud of that. Eight bananas, Melania.

9:14Declan Donnelly:File it all day long. She's having a wind-up, isn't she? No, I think she writes a lot. Does she? Yeah, she writes a lot. Is she a big fan? She's a big fan. Well, then she should stay in the file pile, shouldn't she? File pile. Because she talks sense. She's got good taste, talks sense. I like her. We should make her a correspondent. Give her a job. Give her a job on the pod. Hey, this is for Derek. Hey, this is for Dick. I'm finally joining the glasses gang. I just got myself a pair and I'm not going to lie. I am anxious about what my school friends will think, but my family love them though. Any advice?

9:52TVD for life. I wouldn't care what they say. Just go for it. Why not? You rock a pair of glasses. I bet you look really cool in them. You just go for it. Do your thing. File it. Well done, TVD for life.

10:06Declan Donnelly:Dick! I'm so with you on the dishwasher. Oh, you know it makes sense. Yes. Don't be a Tony. Don't be a Tony. That's a thing. Be a dick. That's going to be a thing. And stack your dishwasher the right way. Yes. Nikki Bell. Yes. Is there anything else you're really anal about? What? Well, Nikki Bell, you're annoying. Because there's got to be, I mean, I would like a little bit of it. we had a straw poll last time when we talked about how you load and stack your dishwasher. Yeah. And it was about 50-50 in here, I think. So it must be 50-50 out there in Great Britain. I mean, not that I'm going to do like a YouGov poll.

10:51Declan Donnelly:And around the world. And around the world. But I don't think you should be calling me a Tony just because I do it differently. I think, yeah. I don't deserve the Tony slander, the Tony slur. Is a Tony now, is that a male Karen? Yeah. And you can't say Karen anymore. so all the Tonys will be denied now. Now that you're bringing this up. Can you not say Karen? Nikki Bell. Can you not say Karen anymore? Nah. Can you not? Nah. Even people who are called Karen, they get offended. You just go to her, hey, you. Yeah, isn't it a thing? Karen's got annoyed. How ironic.

11:31Declan Donnelly:What do we do with this? I think we shred it. No! Yeah. Oh, no. Oh. Too late. Too late. Hannah Griffin says, I've never noticed an accent before. Eh? What? Are you mad? You mad, bro? Have you just cleaned your ears out? Have your accents changed over the years? Oh, God, yeah. I think they have. Yeah. Mine's not as strong as it used to be. Yours is definitely not as strong as it used to be. No, no. They definitely are. If you listen to, if you go on Battle of Ox and you look at clips of Saturday morning, like early SMTV Live, you'll notice how Geordia we were. Geordia? Yeah. Geordia. It's a word.

12:11Declan Donnelly:It is now. And if you listen to Back to Grove or look at Back to Grove then we're even stronger back then. Does it come back when you go home? Yeah. Yeah, it always comes back when I go home. Even if I'm speaking to my sister or one of my sisters on the phone it'll get stronger. Even that sounded quite Geordian. On the phone. On the phone. On the phone. I love it. Never wanted to go. Love it. Well done. Oh, what's your name? I forgot. Hannah. Hannah Griffin. Love it. Shred you. See, this is good though. You're getting into the vibe of the shredding. I like it. We've dealt with it. We've dealt with that.

12:49It's gone. Let's not pile it.

12:52Declan Donnelly:Deck talking flirty made me go weak at the knees. Caroline. But can I see Ant Fleur? Oh. No, no, no, no, no. No, no, no, no, no. No, you can't. Oh, I didn't see where it was from! Caroline. Caroline! Sorry, Caroline. I was trying to be funny and I've ruined it. I've ruined the night. I've ruined the birthday. Sorry about that. I'm ruining it for the bride. Hold on. I need to do the other half. That won't go in now, will it? I know. Spin it round. Yes, in you go. Greg Milligan says, With all due respect, egg, chocolate limes are...

13:40Declan Donnelly:What's it called? Greg Milligan. Greg, you're so right. No, you're not. You're so right, Greg. You're absolutely right. You're so right. They are so... They're not. They're not. I'm going to have to bleep all these, but I don't care. They are...

14:00Oh, here they are. Look at these little babies. Try one.

14:05Declan Donnelly:No, because I think, like Greg, they're... They're not. Mmm. Really nice citrusy. Mmm. Come on, then. You get a bit of citrus at the beginning. And then chocolate. Yeah, yeah. I love chocolate. But why would I want citrus, then chocolate? Like eating an orange, then eating chocolate. Like chocolate orange? Yeah. Oh, yeah, it's a good part. Mmm. I've just got the chocolate. But it's very, very cheap chocolate. Mmm. What percentage of this show do you think is just you two eating sweets? Your mouth doesn't understand what's going on. Just go with it. Your mouth confused. Go with it. Do you know what I mean?

14:53Mmm. Not bad, is it?

14:56Declan Donnelly:It's literally not. Okay. I take back my several hundred.

15:06Declan Donnelly:I've had over my lifetime. No, no, once your battery's turned, I swore a lot. Oh, right. And it's not. It's just okay. It's okay. It's okay. It's not as bad as he says. No. Sorry, Greg. Sorry, Greg. I disagree on that one. We're just shredding everything now. Yeah, I like it. Bye. Next is this one. I've always found the celebrity of Ant and Dec mysterious. Maybe because they only do big shows on ITV. So it's enjoyable to listen to this podcast and see their carefree side aligned to their friendship, as we like to imagine. David Graham, what do you think people imagine about your relationship? That's a side question.

15:55Declan Donnelly:I've never really thought of that. What do you mean? What people think about us. I just think people think we're friends don't they? Do you think they used to be lovers? Do you think we used to be lovers? Yeah a lot of people thought we were lovers for a while Yeah yeah yeah We used to say we weren't for a while Do you think some people think it's a showmance? Showmance Showmance That's a good phrase That you actually secretly hate each other Oh yeah we used to get that a lot I think there's a lot of double acts of like the 70s and 80s Didn't get on really Didn't get on Like famously were really pally on screen but off screen didn't like each other so we kind of got asked that a lot do you really like each other?

16:31Declan Donnelly:are you really friends? I think people are at this stage because we've been together so long kind of you can't not say our friendship so and that's what we always said we think part of the reason we've been around so long is people really believe it and that apart from David apart from David he was sceptical but our career is built on a friendship it's not a friendship built on a career so it's the it's the right way around It's a very solid footing. It's very good. Very good letter. We've read it now, so we shred it now. Nobody's had his time. We give that good time, right? Yeah? Hi, guys. Hi.

17:14Declan Donnelly:I'm from Belgium. The chocolate capital city. Now you're talking. Do not put chocolate in the fridge. No, hold on. Put it in a cool dog place, not for months on end, of course. Just ravage through it in a couple of days like a normal person. The taste and consistency remains better than in the fridge. Respect, guys. April DeBee. We've got some chocolate for you to test. Ready? This is? Yeah. You want to see if she's telling the truth? So that's normal. And this is the fridge. Right. You open the fridge you want. I'll open the normal one. so we've said before which is where this comes from that we prefer chocolate in the fridge now this is galaxy chocolate smooth milk galaxy chocolate which I love fridge one's fantastic so let's should we both go in order then shall I do fridge as well you do a bit of fridge not going to need any dinner after tonight's episode how little do you eat?

18:25a chocolate lime and a bit of galaxy

18:26Declan Donnelly:ooh that's me that's perfect for me it could actually do with being colder it could actually do with being colder now now is the room temperature galaxy that has been stored in a cool dark place okay I find it a bit more claggy it is very claggy although I know what this means you do taste the chocolate bowl yeah you do actually I might eat less of it if it's room temperature. Because I think we have a little bit of this, and I'm just going to eat a little bit again just to prove my point, right? And it's cold and it's nice, but then you're chasing it because you want another one, whereas that lingers more.

19:08Declan Donnelly:It hangs around. Yeah. April, you are onto something here. You may have just turned my world upside down. I've got a chocolate drawer in my fridge, and it's a drawer. You know the drawer? Have I told you this before? The one for vegetables? The one for vegetables. It's full of chocolate. The vegetables have, there's three drawers. There's a salad drawer. There's, I think it's meant to be for cheese actually. There's a salad drawer at the bottom and then there's a vegetable drawer and then the other one is meant to be for like cheeses and stuff. Oh, someone's doing well, aren't they? That's a fancy fridge.

19:40Three drawers.

19:44Declan Donnelly:What can I say? I've got a good fridge. And the other drawer is full to the brim of chocolate. But now what? Which mostly I buy. Now what? Now what? Now, if I really want to curb my chocolate dependency, which is what this is right now, I think I've got to just leave it out of the fridge. I agree. I think April is onto something. Right, I'm going to do a little bit of a test for you, April, and get back to you on this. And we'll circle back. So this, we'll go into the pile, a file with this one, the green one. Let's go into the green one. Well done, April. That was a very good letter. I'll keep this chopper for later.

20:24I've got one here from Alex Paris Copley-Wilkes. What? Not Alice from Paris?

20:32Declan Donnelly:No. French viewer? Alex Paris Copley-Wilkes. Oh, that's great. What a great name. Alice Paris Copley-Wilkes. Hello, Alex Paris Copley-Wilkes. Nice to meet you. My husband recently bought some slip-in sketcher trainers and felt super cool and trendy. until my friend told him that Skechers are famously uncool and that as a 42-year-old man, he's not nearly old enough for them. As a trainer connoisseur, Ant, what do you think of Skechers? And is my husband cool stroke trendy or does he need to buy something else? Respect, guys. Alice Paddock's Copley Berks. He's neither. He's neither trendy. Cool nor trendy?

21:12Declan Donnelly:He's neither cool nor trendy. Uh-oh. Or all age. You know, he doesn't... Wear what you want to wear. I mean, I kind of made of a noise when you mentioned slipping sketches. I did. You did. Because I was like, come on, he's only 42. If you can bend down and put your entire shoe laces, keep doing it. Yeah. Because once you give up on that. What else are you going to give up on? What else are you going to give up on? Let's look at your shoes today. Yeah, I wear Vans. Slip on shoes. Yeah, but they're not the ones where they stay firm at the back. I know exactly the one she means. Yeah, they slip on Vans.

21:46Declan Donnelly:And they're cool and trendy. Thanks, Fiona. Cool and trendy. Face him as long as you can.

21:56Declan Donnelly:That's a very good point. Very good point. But my point is... Do as I say, not as I do. No, I'm wearing these today, but I don't always wear these. But clearly they're his... He thinks he's cool and trendy. Wearing Skechers does not make you cool and trendy. But if you need to wear a pair of trainers where you can just slip on in, then you know if you can't be lacing up your trainers then they're a very good choice hope that's helped Addis Paris Copley Wills she should be a correspondent yes final one today we'll have to come back to this mountain there's a big pile here we're gonna have to do more of these Jemima another file pile episode and this one says I'm a postie and most streets don't have a house number 13 what?

22:44Declan Donnelly:what? no So, Megan Chambers sent that in. I'm just not saying the word out randomly. Her name out randomly. I don't believe that. Most streets don't have it. Well, Megan's the postie. Are you a postie, Lola? Fiona, are you? Are you sexy? No, you're not. So, have you got a 13 in your street? I think I do. I'm going to have a look tonight. Yeah. I live at number 13. What? Yeah. Sexy. Wow, sexy lips at number 13. Of course she does. She's from the wrong side of the checks. We should leave it there. Yeah, we should.
