In short

Ant and Dec return from holidays with food talk (Newcastle stotties, “Geordie” grass-fed butter, eggs and Marmite soldiers), then run “Famous Guy Swaps Things,” where listeners propose swaps for Dec’s signed air fryer. They also revisit Ant’s “Dex Diary” from 1994 tour days and discuss upcoming Guinness-style record attempts and a “World’s Biggest Music Quiz” for Cash for Kids. They finish with a Gemini ad using Shakespearean/early-modern English.

Guests (backgrounds)

No traditional guests; the episode includes listener voice notes and one remote guest, Will “Willy Nilly” (world-record/Guinness-style challenge specialist). Will advises on banana/egg world records and high-five record logistics.

Key claims

Dec chooses to swap his air fryer for an electric drum kit (offered by Lucy, a university-bound listener). The other finalist swap is a “quiet please” golf tournament placard (offered by Andy). They claim the air fryer swap is not a competition/prize draw.

Notable examples

Stottie reheating method (freezer then toaster), Marmite soldiers origin story (Brighton hotel for Alan Carr’s birthday), swap ideas (PS5 for air fryer; crochet city goose; Titanic “Heart of the Ocean” necklace), and record stats (e.g., 15,225 entrants target for the music quiz).

0:50Car Selling Without a Catch Carvana

0:54Declan Donnelly:Pick up fees may apply Coming up on the show I find out something I never knew about Deck Since when? This is a bit of a deep dive In our friendship I think

1:03Ant McPartlin:A friendly face dials in What's that? Income and call That has never happened before Deck he is from his 90s crush I always had a crush on you If you'd said something We could have gone for a tizer This famous guy swapped something I really, really, really Would like him And I remake those sweet fried eggs. Enjoy the show!

1:30Hola, guest boxy sport. I found it. Hi, guys. Hi, everybody. Music's right out of everything. Is that what happens in the podcast world?

1:42Ant McPartlin:We're not on air yet. We're on the air. We're on the air, good. Hello, everybody. Hi, everybody. Good morning, good evening. Welcome along. Welcome back to the Hangout for more hanging out with him and me. You weren't even looking down. Come on, you said that. You're distracted. I'm all over the place. I'm just... Me thing's gone limp. Me microphone's limp. What is going on? I don't know. I'm discombobulated. This is a prank. This is kind of the kind of thing Fiona and Lola would do. Sorry, everybody. What are you doing now? Me microphone's all over the place. I've lost me phone. But now I'm ready for action.

2:14Ant McPartlin:Woo-woo! It's great to be back with you again. It's nice to be here. Double denim today, I see. Well, I was going to ask you this. Is this sartorially... Behind the green door, green door, there's an old piano out here. Behind the green door.

2:27Declan Donnelly:It is a bit shaky, Stephen, but I like it. Is it sartorially acceptable?

2:32Ant McPartlin:Yeah. What, double denim? Yeah, of course it is. Is it? Yeah. For those of you just listening, I have denim jeans on. I think they've worked that out. I said double denim. Yeah, it's the same. It's the same color. It's all right.

2:44Declan Donnelly:It looks like a bodysuit, like a denim bodysuit he's wearing.

2:46Ant McPartlin:No, it doesn't look like... Is that all right? We've established it's good. Is it nice though? What do you mean? Well, let's do a look. Jesus Christ.

2:55Declan Donnelly:Fishing for compliments or what? You look great.

2:58Ant McPartlin:Ah, I don't like it.

2:59Declan Donnelly:Is that what you're waiting for? Yes. Hello, everyone. It feels like ages since we've seen you. I know it hasn't been, but it feels like, because we've been away. We've packed a lot in. We have packed a lot in. We've been on holidays. We went away. I went off to Portugal for a couple of days. Ooh! Bit of sunshine, as you can tell by my tan. Cool, huh? That was good Played a bit of golf Nice Spent a lot of time with the kids All three of them were there Lovely Nice Had a lovely time You? I went away also with the kids I mean I hope so Because your kids are very young So you can't really leave them at home I did think about it Did you?

3:30Declan Donnelly:Did you?

3:30Ant McPartlin:We went away and got a bit of sun As you probably can't tell from my town For those of you just listening I look exactly the same And then I got back And I went to Newcastle Went to the Toon How was the Toon? It was good A lot of people stopped me in the street Who are very much enjoying the pod Yeah I've had lots of people A lot of people asking about your pants. Were they? Asking how much they were. Did you tell them? I did. What did they say? There was a lot of, shut up, man. Yeah, I bet man was involved. A lot of swear words. A lot of shut up, man. Did you tell them? I did tell them. Right, good.

4:02Ant McPartlin:Did that. And then I got a few, and what about the jet skis? I had a bit of the jet skis chat as well. And did you tell them? I told them. And what did they say? How did you do that? Shut up, man. Shut up, man. So yeah, a lot of people met a Bethan. No, you didn't. I met a Bethan in Newcastle. Did you? Yeah. Said, tell Ant you've met a Bethan. Either way, exist.

4:22Declan Donnelly:You wait till it's Mystery Door Monday and there's just like 7 ,000 Bethans lined up behind the door.

4:29Ant McPartlin:I brought everybody a present back from Newcastle. Uh-huh. What? Would you like to see? Peace button. No. Damn it. A copy of the Chronicle. I brought you... Stotty! Come on. Should we have some?

4:44Declan Donnelly:Do you want a bit of Stotty? So these are basically a large bap. You get them in Newcastle. And Greg's in Newcastle is the only place that does them. And the rest of the country, Greg's don't sell stotties. So we would like to... Is that even a knife? It's a spatula, isn't it?

5:02Ant McPartlin:Somebody been doing some painting. It's like a tiny surfboard. So this is a stottie. It's been a few days. I bought it a few days ago because I got back. But it's all right. No, it's just not as fresh as it should be. I'm just cutting my stotty

5:15Declan Donnelly:you're going to eat a stotty a good few days later though they do keep very well and then put them in the freezer if you're up in Newcastle buy them take them home put them in the freezer and then take them out of the freezer pop them straight in the toaster gorgeous look at that so Dex slicing up the stotty as we speak

5:30Ant McPartlin:you got any butter? we need some butter we were getting butter it was coming but it's not arrived yet well don't what do you do with your finger don't do that no but what you do is ham peas pudding oh Oh. Peas pudding is split peas, which is boiled and then kind of mushed up. Ham and peas pudding, stotty.

5:49Declan Donnelly:That's your typical stotty filling, ham and peas pudding. Delicious. If they're from Newcastle. It doesn't really have an end, this, though, because there's no butter. Well, I need the butter. I'd like to pop that in my mouth. That needs to go in my mouth right now. I could tell you what I've been up to whilst we wait for the butter. Go on, then. So there's a mall in Portugal that I know very well, and nobody knows us over there. So I love going shopping there because I'm just kind of walking around. Nobody comes up the air. You're kind of anonymous. You can just walk around. You can go shopping anywhere you want.

6:17Declan Donnelly:It's like being Stephen Mulhern in Westfield. So I popped in this shop and I tried on a pair of shoes and they were like a suede loafer. We both like a suede loafer.

6:27Ant McPartlin:We love a suede loafer.

6:28Declan Donnelly:An easy loafer, everyday loafer. You know, not too expensive. 80 euros, right? Which doesn't break the bank. That's a snip. But it's not bad. And I was like, right, I'll have the navy, I'll have the black, I'll have the grey, and I will have the chocolate brown. That's not like you. No, no, hold on, hold on. So the woman went, I'm sorry? I said, yes, I love the navy, the brown. So I asked for all of the colours and then I had a little word of myself and thought, what are you doing? This is how I end up paying so much for jet skis and so much for pants because I buy them multiples and I buy them in every colour.

7:00Declan Donnelly:So I bought one pair, navy blue pair. I mean, because they didn't have any other nice sizes available, which is why. You weren't being restrained. No, but I did walk away from there and I spoke to my wife and I was like, right, this is the start of a financial detox. And I'm not going to buy anything for a month, two months. Should I do a month and see how I get on? What do you mean buy anything? I'm not going to buy anything. I'm not going to buy clothes. The only thing I'll buy, it's necessary. Like if I have to buy dog food so my dogs can eat. Deodorant? Yeah. Oh, thank God. Necessary. Right.

7:34Declan Donnelly:Yeah. So necessary toothpaste, deodorant, stuff like that. I'm going to buy. Right. Or I'm on a financial detox at the minute. I'm not going to buy anything. I'm going to make do for a month and see how I get on. And then I might find I love it. And then I'm just going to, I might extend it. Let's see. And then at the end of the month, I'll get my month's chip, which you'll present me with. Butter? Oh, butter is 17 minutes away. Oh. The butter is 17 minutes away. What the? All right, Bono. You've flown the butter in. You've Ubered the butter in.

8:06Ant McPartlin:This is very special butter. You can only have butter from Newcastle. It's set off at six o 'clock this morning

8:12Declan Donnelly:and it's almost here. Do you remember that story that Bono flew his hat that he performs in across the world because he wanted to perform in it and put the hat on the seat. Like, must have put the seatbelt on it, of course. Got to do. And then flew it. I presume it was like from London to New York, was it? Or was it further? Let's say Australia. And the hat flew all the way to Australia. Is that a bit like you and this butter? It is a bit, yeah. Right. It's coming all the way. It's special. What kind of butter do you go for? Geordie butter. Is this such a thing? No. No. No. Grass-fed though. Yeah, right.

8:46Ant McPartlin:Butter from grass-fed cows. Aren't all cows grass-fed? No. Some of them eat mixture. Ah, I see. Right. You know, the mixture. Is that you pouring the mixture out of a bag? Yeah, that was me pouring the mixture out. I've never fed a cow. I'd love to see you feed a cow. I'll be like that. Here you go. Come on, my lovelies. Come and get it. I'll just have a little end while we're at it. Do you want to have a little bit of dry bit now? We'll have a little toast, everyone. All right? Hey. Split that amongst you. Oh, wow. Fiona's hungry. Wow. Wow, she's keen.

9:23Declan Donnelly:It looks like being at a Tom Jones concert and people are throwing their knickers at him. I got it. I got Tex bread. I got Tex bread. It's like being back at a P.J. Duncan concert in the mid-90s. That's a nice little... Like it? I do like that. A little chopping board. It's a chopping board in the shape of a slice of bread. I like it. What's in there? What the hell? It's my chopping board from home. Daddy's Eggs and Marmite Soldiers. Is this yours? Yes. Daddy's. Daddy's Eggs and Marmite. Hold on. There's a lot to unpack in this chopping board. So it's in the shape of a slice of bread. There's two holes to put your boiled eggs in, I presume.

10:02Declan Donnelly:And we know you love eggs. So there's the eggs. Marmite soldiers You like Marmite? Yeah I never knew you liked Marmite

10:09Ant McPartlin:I love Marmite Marmite soldiers With your boiled eggs You don't have Marmite When I'm with you Is this something you just do In the privacy of your own home? I like to do it in secret No yeah I love Marmite Since when? What? Since when? Is this the show? Yes Is it? I love Marmite soldiers Why are you smirking like Oh look at me I love Marmite

10:30Declan Donnelly:I'm part of the cool gang What? Come on Discuss Now this is a bit of a deep dive in our friendship, I think.

10:38Ant McPartlin:Can I tell you when I really got into Marmite Soldiers? Well, that's what I'm asking, actually. It was a few years ago. Right, okay. We went to Brighton. Who's we? Me and you. Right. For Alan Carr's birthday party. Yes, I remember. We stayed at a hotel in Brighton, and next morning, they served up boiled eggs with Marmite Soldiers. Why? And I was like, I'm not sure about that. Why didn't they put Marmite on your soldiers? That was on the menu. Was it? Bloody loved it, didn't I? Only bloody loved it. Dip it in your egg. I'm in heaven. And since then? Since then.

11:15Declan Donnelly:Well, clearly you love them so much, you've had a chopping board with it engraved in. Yeah. Daddies. Daddies. Hands off. That's not Islas. That's not Jacks. That's not even Ali's. That's daddies. Eggs and Marmite soldiers. But no, that was a Father's Day present. That's nice. That's nice. I'm glad. They've made that for you. that's very good

11:33Ant McPartlin:I don't think they made it I think they bought it off not on the high street do you eat veg you don't eat veg you don't eat veg in Australia though no I don't like it as much because it tastes of vegetables you're right there you're filling up on the crumbs I'm starving I just realised I didn't have any breakfast I'm starving I've got loads of study here I'm not eating the crumbs for where's the butter still in a taxi how far is it now we're like 10 minutes away 10 minutes away oh jeez have you been watching anything good on the telly I have I've been watching something which is eight bananas

12:05Ant McPartlin:Those two guys that hosted us.

12:07Declan Donnelly:Cool. No, seriously though, I know we're all there and I know it's one of our shows, but how good has it been? My favourite clip though and quote is about an air fryer that it sucks all of the oxygen. Sucks all the air out of the room.

12:21Ant McPartlin:I can't breathe, Darren. As an air fryer aficionado, that outraged me. Don't give air fryer such a bad name. They don't suck the air out of the room.

12:30Declan Donnelly:talking of air fryers by the way before we move on the final is on Friday ITV will you be there?

12:38Ant McPartlin:I will be there

12:55Declan Donnelly:on last week's pod I did talk about your air fryer your your second air fryer and I threw it open to everybody to see if they would swap it. Have you had any responses? We have had hundreds of responses. We've had hundreds of possible items that you could swap your air fryer for. Are they any good? I'll let you be the judge of that. I think some of them are excellent. Really? Yeah, I genuinely do. So this item we're calling is, I think we all decided on famous guy swaps things. That's not always. They think that rolls off the tongue. and does it have a jingle? Yeah. Somebody put some music and say, famous guy swaps things.

13:35Declan Donnelly:We'll have a jingle for next week. Right, somebody make a jingle for that, please. And all tune it as well when you're at it, will you? Famous guy swaps things. So that's the... We're not going to go through hundreds today, are we? No, no, I've selected. I've whittled down a few, which I'll go through now. And so you'll have an option at the end of this list to go with something that we talked about today or roll over till next week. This is amazing. So something you're up for? Absolutely. Okay, did you bring in the air fryer? It's here. Can I see it? Can the viewers see what's on offer? If you're just listening, I'm about to hold up an air fryer.

14:09If you can lift it. Do you need my help? Oh, you can lift it.

14:12Declan Donnelly:You can lift it. Put it in the middle of the desk there. And inside the drawer, Fiona told me that she's put a little surprise in there. A toasted stotty. Is it the butter? Is the butter inside there?

14:24Ant McPartlin:No, there's a metallic powder.

14:26Declan Donnelly:Ah, good. Okay, can you sign that, please? and I'll sign it as well.

14:29Ant McPartlin:Do I do it face in the back or face in the front?

14:31Declan Donnelly:Well, if you're looking at the air fryer, you want to kind of look. So maybe you have to come around the other way. Well, you suppose you could do. It's easy, isn't it?

14:41Ant McPartlin:See the business end?

14:43Declan Donnelly:Business end. It's disgusting, isn't it?

14:45Ant McPartlin:Business end.

14:46Declan Donnelly:The business end. Who says that? Is that what you say about your body? Here's my business end. I'm turning my business end towards you now. What the hell? do you often smile like that doing this thing do you often smile like that I love giving up come on that's it here right we don't do a love or anything do we we just sign it oh splotch a little splotch should I go should I say happy frying if you like to put happy frying happy air frying love can you put the love from both of us and put an and in between the and and deck right there's the air frying turn it back round so we're not seeing the business end

15:30Declan Donnelly:take a photo for social media will you Fiona let me move this

15:34Ant McPartlin:out of the way

15:34Declan Donnelly:okay pop it in the corner there that's the air fryer so you've seen it now you've witnessed us sign it you've seen the business end you've seen the front end just down there that'll do watch your back don't put your back out

15:47Ant McPartlin:there must be some legal things are there teas and c's to this are there teas and c's there are always teas and c's what for swapping things Yep. Go on. Right, you ready? Ears open. I don't know if I am. We're inviting a listener to take part in a swap with Dec. This isn't a competition or prize draw. We will simply choose one participant at our discretion for content purposes. If selected, we will contact you to discuss the swap.

16:10Declan Donnelly:Well done. Well done. You made that actually sound more entertaining than it was. Yeah, you did. You did well there. Okay. Can I have my clipboard, please? Jemima. It's behind you. It's behind me. Right. Here we go.

16:23Ant McPartlin:I'm excited, genuinely.

16:24Declan Donnelly:Here are a few of the swaps that we were offered this week. Swap one. Hi, Antondek. This is from Catherine in Whitley Bay. Oh, Catherine. Arit, Antondek. Arit. I hear you need a travel hairdryer because you don't have one. I need an air fryer. You scratch my back, I scratch yours. Well, maybe not, but let's exchange. An air fryer for a hairdryer. It seems like a fair swap to me. Well. travel hair dryer a travel hair dryer which is what you're lacking in your diary

16:56Ant McPartlin:it is however that was 30 years ago right most hotels have one most hotels have one and you don't have a butt cut and I don't have a butt cut anymore do you dry your hair I do yes with a hair dryer yes but everywhere's got one now so is that a no to Catherine already it's not looking likely I'm hoping it's going to improve from here

17:18Declan Donnelly:okay next up Heighten Deck I am willing to swap my husband's PS5 for Dex Airfryer. What? May my eight-month-old daughter Poppy, ah, you've got a Poppy too. I got a Poppy. Watch all of the podcasts weekly. We love you both. And we saw that you want to play swapsies. I'm happily willing to swap my husband's PS5 with two remotes and a wireless mini PlayStation charger for the remotes for Dex Airfryer. That's good. The reason being, he gets too distracted on it for the baby bump changes, and nap times. So I think this is a great way to help that. And I'm also pregnant with baby number two. Yay! Due in December.

17:59Declan Donnelly:So an air fryer would definitely help with those dinner preps. Respect, guys. Love Jade and Poppy.

18:04Ant McPartlin:Do you think he's in on this? No. This is going to be done behind his back? Yes. I think that might be problematic.

18:10Declan Donnelly:Is that a part of the T's and C's? Are people allowed to swap other people's things? We're probably out of a discount.

18:15Ant McPartlin:I think that would cause a family squabble. But he does have to get off

18:19Declan Donnelly:the PlayStation and help his wife with the... Changing the bum. With changing the bum. Come on. So that's enough?

18:25Ant McPartlin:I was tempted. It's a good swap, though, isn't it? I was really tempted there. Poppy, that was a great swap. Next swap is a voice note.

18:34Declan Donnelly:Have a listen to this. Hi, Ant and Dirk. This is Lucy. Hi. Hi. Hi. I am contacting you in regards to Dirk's air fryer. I hope this finds you well. I would use it a lot in uni because I'm going uni in September. Good. And what to swap it with? I have an electric drum kit. So I don't know if Isla or Jack would be interested in that. But it is an electric drum kit. So it has headphones. So it doesn't make as much noise as an actual drum kit would. Don't worry. Don't be fob me. Don't be fob me. Okay, bye. Love you lots. Lots of love. Love you lots too. Thank you very much, Lucy. Lucy.

19:16Ant McPartlin:I genuinely love that. Could this be a swap? This could be a swap. Oh, put on the shortlist, guys. And this is not for Isla or Jack. This is for me. Get it from me. I'd love that. I would love an electric. We could do that here. We could make jingles live. And do you know what?

19:33Declan Donnelly:I shouldn't really try and sell it on her behalf or anything, but my daughter's at uni and my other one's going to go to uni and air fryer's are all the rage. She could do with that. So think of her. She could really do with that.

19:45Ant McPartlin:She's top of the list so far.

19:46Declan Donnelly:Yeah. Lucy, you're top of the list. Shall I carry on? Yes. Okay, next swap. Hi, Ant. I have a swap that I feel fits perfectly. I can crochet a large city goose just for you. Oh, actually. We've got a picture of the city goose. There's a picture there. The hat and bow tie colour is negotiable, so you get to choose what colour you want. And the hat, it gets better. It's also removable. I think you use a willy warmer. A willy nilly warmer.

20:21Declan Donnelly:And under the hat, it's very curly hair. We haven't got a picture of the goose without the hat on.

20:26Ant McPartlin:That might have tipped it for me, but if I can't see the hair, I'm not sure. It's a lovely thought and a lovely idea. It got better. It started with crochet and I wasn't very impressed. But that is a very cute silly goose.

20:39Declan Donnelly:Why did it get better? Because you could negotiate the colour of the hat and the Muay Thai. What would you have, black and white stripes? Megan, we'll go back to Megan. Can you do stripes? I'm on it. I'm on it.

20:51Ant McPartlin:Yeah, I'm not sure it's going to be the electric drum kit, but can you do stripes? Just so we know. Next swap.

20:56Declan Donnelly:I don't want to sway you, but just listen to this, right? Okay. Hi, Ant. I'm offering to swap my silver tap shoes. Why are you laughing? Stop laughing. I've just looked at the picture on the screen. Because I think they would fit deck. Am I right, Ant? They are a woman's size eight. I'm a man's size eight. How does that work? She gives a good reason why she wants to swap these with you. She needs one.

21:24Ant McPartlin:She needs a really good one.

21:25Declan Donnelly:She thinks it will help you expand your hobbies. Because in last week's episode, you said you only play golf and you couldn't think of any other hobbies. She thought it would be a very useful, thoughtful swap. And it's not just another excuse for a cheap laugh at deck size. It's not that. It's not that. If you pick them for the swap, I'll even throw in my banana slicer. Just be, what? A banana slicer? What's a banana slicer? If I can find it, it must be at the back of a kitchen cupboard somewhere. Love you both. Caroline. Isn't the banana's nice than just a knife? It's a knife. Caroline, could you send in the shoes just so Dec can try them on?

22:01Ant McPartlin:No. Do you always try them before you buy? Don't bother. Don't bother.

22:04Declan Donnelly:You're not going to go for them? I don't think so. They're not beating the electric drum kit right now? No. No, that's a no? That's a no. Yeah, that is. Okay, sorry.

22:12Ant McPartlin:Quite a blurry photo of them as well. All right, so we'll take a was in a rush. What's your problem?

22:17Declan Donnelly:You might have an old camera. Call it four new cameras. I mean, yeah, you know. Jesus. Judgemental or what? The next one is on your screen. Oh. Need I say more? That is from Amanda French. Need I say more? For those of you just listening, it's... For those of you just listening, it is a boat. A ship? It's a ship. It's like a pirate ship.

22:42Ant McPartlin:It's a model pirate ship. What's your Amanda French? Amanda French. The French Amanda. it looks like the Spanish Armada hey can we zoom in can you just zoom in because it says to me on the bottom oh it's a model of HMS Victory 1758 1758 that's two minutes to six to you don't laugh at that don't laugh at that don't laugh at that don't laugh he does that

23:03Declan Donnelly:every time we go away don't laugh at that whenever there's 24 o 'clock involved he does that gag don't laugh at that

23:09Ant McPartlin:not that interested in the ship but I quite like the look of that guitar okay no ship

23:16Declan Donnelly:How much for the guitar? Is guitar available? Okay, nor ship. Is guitar available? Next one. I was working at the Open Golf Tournament and I can offer two of the official Money Can't Buy Quiet Please signs that they hold up at the golf tournament. I know you guys like your golf, so I thought Deck might be interested in swapping the air fryer for one of these. Just one.

23:40Ant McPartlin:Oh, how weird.

23:43Declan Donnelly:Also, very useful for when Deck decides to talk over you. Yes, Andy, that's very true. That would come in very handy, but I need two, one for him and one for me. Respect, guys, Andy. There's the four. So if you don't know what these are, if you're just listening or watching, whenever you see golf and the professional golfers on the first tee and you're just about to hit the ball, the stewards hold up these kind of, what would you call them? Like a placard, like a thin placard, which says, quiet, please. It's like an upside down cricket bat. Yeah, it looks like a cricket bat. And now the crowd go quiet and they can hit their shot in peace.

24:16Declan Donnelly:Now that, that is a really good bit of memorabilia. Money can't buy, as Andy says.

24:21Ant McPartlin:I absolutely love that. I would love one of those. Would you? Yeah. So you would swap? Yeah, I think I would.

24:30Declan Donnelly:Ooh! Okay, okay, okay, okay. I would swap for one of those. Can I just read you the last item? Yes. Before you make any snap judgments. Yeah. Because I think you'll find this appealing. hello Anton Deck my super rare item that I would swap for the air fryer is this one of a kind necklace from the Titanic movie the heart of the ocean necklace you can buy them on Amazon put that in brackets why do I have this necklace yeah that was my next question well apart from the fact you can buy them on Amazon am I a Titanic super fan no I am not for some reason when I was a young girl my mum's friend gave me this necklace as a gift to cheer me up when I was feeling a little upset over my dad being away at sea serving in the Royal Navy.

25:18Declan Donnelly:Because what I wanted as a sad child missing my father at sea was a necklace from a movie about the ship that sunk. Anyways, it's all yours if you want it. Bye for now. For now, because she knows you'll be in touch. Emily.

25:33Ant McPartlin:Ironically, it doesn't flop me both. Doesn't it? No. I've never seen the movie. You've never seen Titanic? No. what? I've never seen it. What do you do? What do you mean? In your life, what do you do?

25:48Declan Donnelly:How do you fill your time? Like, what do you do? Loads of stuff. Never forget now when you've got kids and all that, what do you do? Because if you're not watching movies and if you're not, clearly not doing hobbies because all you do is golf, what do you do?

26:02Ant McPartlin:I couldn't see the point in the movie Titanic. Why? Because I know it sinks.

26:07Declan Donnelly:But it's about the love story between Jack and Rose. You don't care about that? So far, we've got the electric drum kit and the tap shoes. No! Why are we coming out? Are we getting them sent in the chat? No, okay. No. The electric drum kit, the silly goose. Silly goose knitted crochet. Black and white striped hat and votive. If she knew black and white. If she knew black and white. And the open memorabilia, quiet please sign. Yes. So you've got to pick one of those. Yes. Or you can roll it over to next week. If you roll it over to next week. Yes. You can't go back. No! To one of these. That's the rules.

26:44Declan Donnelly:Oh, no. So do you think you'll get something better? Or do you think? Because otherwise you could just be rolling over and rolling over and rolling over. We've got to put it. This item's gone on long enough as it is.

26:57Ant McPartlin:Maybe it's like an acrobat. I've got one in me head. Yeah. That I'm going to go for. Right. Or roll it over. So I can't wait for the silly goose notification as to whether she can do a striped hat or not. so the silly goose has fallen out

27:12Declan Donnelly:right the silly goose has fallen out so it's down to the electric drum machine or the quiet police sign from the Auburn

27:17Ant McPartlin:right let me make a decision join us after this break

27:23Ant McPartlin:this is an advert for Santander who understand that getting started on a goal isn't easy and embracing messy beginnings is how progress happens you know what I've been thinking about recently

27:34Declan Donnelly:I haven't done any of my New Year's resolutions you haven't done any of them yet nope nope Well, I haven't drank less coffee. I haven't swore less. Oh, come on. But that's it. I'll have to wait until next year, won't I?

27:44Ant McPartlin:Well, no, you don't have to. Why? You could start. Why don't you go like, first of May you could start? Ah, too many bank holidays. In May? Yeah. Right. Treats. It's treat time, isn't it? Yeah, it's true. First of June. Summer, isn't it? Really, technically the summer. You'd rather take the whole summer off? Yeah, I think I would, actually. All right, well, let's get rid of the summer then. Okay, right. First of September.

28:04Declan Donnelly:Yeah, back to school then, though, isn't it? So that's where you've got to concentrate on that. Right.

28:08Ant McPartlin:And then October, I guess, is...

28:09Declan Donnelly:Well, it's nearly Christmas, basically, isn't it? So wait until next year, yeah.

28:13Ant McPartlin:So wait until next January. Yeah. Well, that's a waste of a year, isn't it? That's when you wanted to do something. Yeah. You don't have to wait for that beginning of the year. On the perfect moment. Remember last year, you said you wanted to start going to bed earlier. Yes. You still achieved that, no matter how busy we were. I did. So if you're going to start next January, you may as well have started this January.

28:32Declan Donnelly:Yeah, but I couldn't start this January. Why? I was busy launching a podcast, were you? So couldn't do that. So that's why you couldn't. There's a lot of coffee and a lot of swearing.

28:41Ant McPartlin:But that's the problem, you see. You will just keep putting things off. You've just got to sometimes just embrace the chaos, go, all right, it's the 24th of this month. I'm just going to start now.

28:51Declan Donnelly:It's random, isn't it?

28:52Ant McPartlin:Well, whatever. Just embrace the chaos. Just do it. Okay. Just do it. Okay. Every day is a new day. All right. All right. I'm doing it. Tomorrow. Today. Now. I'm doing it now. Beginnings are never perfect. That's why the perfect time to start is now.

29:08Declan Donnelly:Santander, it starts here. Welcome back to Famous Guy Swaps Things here on the Hanging Out pod with Ant and Dec. We join us at a very, very tense moment here. Dec has whittled down the potential swaps to two. One is an electric drum machine, which was offered by Lucy, who's gone to university, and the air fryer would come in very handy for Lucy. The other was a quiet police sign from the open, which was offered by Andy. Or, Deck has the option of rolling over to next week where he loses these potential swaps. Deck, what are you going to go for?

29:42Ant McPartlin:Okay, I am going to swap today. Yes! Audible Gaston Studio. I'm not going to roll it over. I'm going to swap. Boom, boom. Boom, boom. Boom, boom. Boom, boom. As you know, the only hobby I have is golf. Yes? However, I really, really, really, who would like an electric drum machine. What do you? Yeah. So I'm going to swap with Lucy, who's going to university in September. That's just tipped it over the edge for me because I think she'll find this very handy in university. She will. Trust me. So I would like to swap with Lucy. I would like the electric drum machine and she can have my air fryer.

30:20Yay!

30:22Declan Donnelly:I think that's a good swap. Send us photos when you get to uni of you and your roommates using it. We'd love to see some pics. Keep it clean. All above board. Yeah, not the pics. I mean the pig sounds to be clean I mean the air fryer Keep the air fryer clean I thought you meant What kind of pictures were you thinking she was going to send? Keep the air fryer clean Also keep the pictures Everybody stay clean Keep the air fryer clean Oh Jesus Christ This podcast could get you in a lot of trouble Oh my God Don't say force What I meant was my daughter's at uni and their kitchen is like a bombsite.

31:08So...

31:10Declan Donnelly:Oh, my God. Oh, I think we've ended this very badly. From what was going spectacularly well, I thought. Congratulations, Lucy. Well done, Lucy. We will send you the air fryer. Send us the drum machine and we can watch Tech try and navigate his way around it on next week's show. we could play this again if you've got anything else to swap I'm going to go back

31:31Ant McPartlin:to the lock up and have a look what we've got

31:33Declan Donnelly:right okay so have a look and then next week we can talk about the next potential swap can I just say I do have two slow cookers

31:40Ant McPartlin:yes do you why I'll tell you why because she found a book in the office which was a slow cooker recipe book she brought it home she goes oh I found this it's got loads of good recipes in it look at this book it's amazing so she came back bought a slow cooker I was like I've already got one of those and opened the cupboard with all me cookbooks in. We've already got the book as well. So I've got two slow cooker books and two slow cookers. So you can have the cookbook as well.

32:07Declan Donnelly:Sounds like you two need to go on a financial detox as well. Okay. Slow cooker? Slow cooker and a slow cooker recipe book. Slow cooker and a slow cooker recipe book. What would you swap for that? We do now again. Yeah, let's do it again. Right, let's do it again. What would you swap for that? We'll put a picture of the slow cooker on our socials and you can have a good gander at it there. Declan, bring it in next week. And we'll get a list of what we can swap. Andy. Andy. Quiet, please.

32:32Ant McPartlin:I'd follow that as well.

32:33Declan Donnelly:Well, Andy can always offer it again. Yeah, he could. Yeah, yeah. Good. Time for the diary? Time for the diary. Should I get it out? We've got a jingle. Oh, go on. Do you want to hear it? Yeah. Play the jingle. It's Dex Diary. Let's get ready to rumble. It's Dex Diary. Rumble in the jungle. Respect guys That's good That's good isn't it? It's like Avril Lavigne Isn't it? It does sound like her Thanks Daniel Very very good Like that a lot That could be a single Yeah You should release that

33:11Ant McPartlin:Talking of releasing songs Yep It's the 11th of April Release day 1994 Day 15 of Life on the Road It's release day Yay He's put like Little fireworks around Little fireworks around release day Release day Release day. Travel to Bradford for the first gig of the night at Maestro's Nightclub. Remember that? I don't. Well, the venue was good. Was it? Apparently so. Right. A great stage. Uh-huh. In brackets. Curtains, the whack. Classy. Even had curtains. And the crowd weren't bad either. Right, good. A lot of good-looking girls. Oh, he's obsessed with girls. Mind you, how old were you? 19? 19. Yeah, I see.

33:57That's it. Including a couple from Paris. Really?

34:02Ant McPartlin:French fans? French fans. Bonjour. Bonjour. I should have written that, didn't I? Oh, come on, 19-year-old deck. Why not? Bonjour. On to JJ's in Scunthorpe. Oh, that's quite a journey, isn't it? Yeah. Right by the Scunthorpe. Well, listen to this. And we were late. Why? Don't know. Did we get talking to the girls from Paris? Maybe. Maybe we did. Bonjour. The stage was rubbish. What? No curtains there. No curtains. I'm obsessed with how good the stages are. It's not the acoustics. It's not the sound. It's the stage. Stage was bad at JJ's and Scunthorpe. But Why Me went down well. Well, you'd hope so.

34:42It's release day. Not too bad, all in all. Okay. Average. It's an average day of life on the road.

34:48Ant McPartlin:Can't really remember much about today. We drove back to Kent. What? So we're in Bradford, Scunthorpe, Kent Back to Kent, listen to this Arrived at 3.30am Fell asleep in the car So the time flew by Into bed and preparing to fly to Belfast tomorrow Why? So we've got to go from Kent Across town to Heathrow So who did the logistics on this tour? Why didn't we stay at Heathrow at a hotel at Heathrow? Come on Spend some money Test our records They never did But I'd also found this our tour diary. Where did you find all this stuff? In my keepsake box. So this was our list of gigs that we were doing.

35:31Ant McPartlin:Ah, it's the 11th of April. Go on. The Miami release date.

35:34Declan Donnelly:Yeah.

35:34Ant McPartlin:Maestros in Bradford, Scunthorpe's in JJ. So then tomorrow on the 12th, we're off to Belfast to do a TV show. And then we're back to do Hollywood's in Rumford. Oh, legendary. That'll be next week's show.

35:46Declan Donnelly:Hollywood's in Rumford. That's a legendary gig place. That is. Legendary venue. is the word I'm looking for. Geek place.

35:53Ant McPartlin:Geek place.

35:56Declan Donnelly:Good stage. It's got a good stage. Yeah, it has.

36:00Ant McPartlin:It has. But before we get there, I have got, I found this as well. What is this now? It looks like an invoice. This is... It's the invoice for the curtains

36:07Declan Donnelly:on the stage in Bradford.

36:09Ant McPartlin:These are the final agreed fees that we were paid to do these shows. No way! So have a guess how much we were paid to play maestros in Bradford on the 11th of April, 1994. 200 quid. 200 pounds. Oh, I got it right. You're spot on. Is that it? That's what we got. But we did two gigs in a night. We went to Scunthorpe and picked up a cool 150 pounds. Oh my God, we were so cheap.

36:38Declan Donnelly:That doesn't even pay petrol when you're driving the way back to Kent and the Scunthorpe and Bradfords. And that's got to fill us up with ginsers, pasties on the way there,

36:47Ant McPartlin:water, dizzy drinks, quavers. Whispers. Spirals in Yeat was 200 Tokyo Jaws in Preston We had their eyes out Go on 225 Wow Upped it And they paid it Mugs Golds in Speak We got 225 Uh-huh Xanadu's in Mochdale 150 Oh yeah Mr. G's in Blackburn 150 But then of course

37:08Declan Donnelly:We have to split that Yeah, so 125 each And then we have to give money To the management Yeah And then you've got to give money Away to the tax ban Yeah And petrol costs And food costs we came out of it out of pocket really yeah we did we did once you bought hair gel for butt cuts

37:25Ant McPartlin:no wonder I couldn't afford a hair dryer so in total that whole from we went on tour on the 28th of March through the 22nd of April the whole tour we made £4 ,400 between us

37:39Declan Donnelly:yeah so£2 ,200 each my god we did a lot of work for Nout didn't we though yeah but that's what you just got to do You've just got to get out there and promote the single. Yeah. In the hope that it climbs the charts. Will it climb the charts?

37:53Ant McPartlin:Well. When will we know? We'll know that in a couple of weeks' time because on day 18, we get our first midweek chart position. Can't wait. That'll be in a couple of weeks' time. Good. Look forward to it. That was very good. Keep the memorabilia coming in. We've also had a voice note sent in regarding your diary. We'd love to hear it. Yes. Declan Donnelly, Zoe Ball here from 1994. Hello. Well, if only I had known. I always had a crush on you. If you'd said something, we could have gone for a tizer. Sending you both loads and loads of love. Oh, my God. What? She could have been with Duncan from PG &D.

38:29Ant McPartlin:She could have. Not Fatboy Slim. He never made it in the music business. Oh, my gosh, she always had a crush on you. How cool is that? That's amazing. That's really cool.

38:38Declan Donnelly:Hello. Hello. Oh, I can't do that about your lass, can I? I can't say hello about his lass. Oh, I love Zoe Ball. I just got to let him do it now. I love Zoe Ball. She's brilliant. Very nice. Thank you, Zoe Ball. I played a lot of golf while I was away. I bet you did. Too much golf. Did you? That put me back out. No way. Oh, God, yeah. My pelvis is like twisted. So I got this bloke round who crick my neck. What's that? Income and call. That has never happened before. What is that? Can you get that? He's answer it. Well, how do you answer it? I don't think. There's no boards anywhere. There's a phone here.

39:14Ant McPartlin:Does this work? No, that's just voice notes. That's voice notes phone. Oh, John Paul works. Hello. That's what he does. It's willy-nilly. Willy-nilly. Hello, Will. How are you? I'm good, thanks, guys. How are you? Yeah, we're all right, you know. We're good. We're good. We haven't seen you, Will, since and unsuccessful attempt at the banana 18. It was still an attempt.

39:37Declan Donnelly:It was still an attempt.

39:38Ant McPartlin:Looking back on that day, what did you make of it? I feel as if there could have been a bit more prep. We are talking about the world's best, right? So there needs to be probably less surprise element and more training and more focus on getting to that. Well, I have been doing a bit of training. Go on.

39:56Declan Donnelly:And I've got a banana here. That doesn't look very ripe. It's not very ripe. But what I've realized is, and don't time this or anything, but what I've realized is we need to select the bananas better. Stopwatch down, Will. this is not official. So see how wobbly that is? That would have fallen. So we need to make sure that they're firm but not overripe. And then what I've realised that I've been watching a lot of videos is they bite and then they do a big swallow like that. So watch. How quick was that? Oh. Okay. Maybe not that quick. Maybe not. But I'm getting better. The training, I have been training on holiday a lot.

40:42Declan Donnelly:Hold on. Hold on. That's down. Wow. See? You wait. So we need to put a date in, Will, for when I try and break the world record again. Well, no, that sounds like I've broken it before. Yeah, you haven't broken it yet. When I attempt to break the world record for the second time. Have you done better than three yet?

41:02Ant McPartlin:Yes. Yes, I have. He's building up to it. That is something to look forward to for everyone. When you were here, we did talk about any egg-based records for me. Is there anything that you've come across? Yeah, I mean, there's lots in the kind of egg record-breaking world for you to look into. So are most eggs peeled and eaten in one minute? That's currently at six.

41:26Declan Donnelly:Well, that's the equivalent of my banana eating, so that's a good one to do. But it's the peeling, that's the faff. Crack, roll. Yeah, you say that. Can you run it under a tap? You can't run it under a tap. Can a friend help? No, that's an individual record. I mean, we could look into a team of two record for eggs. Absolutely not. Don't get me involved in any egg business. No, thank you, Will. Any other egg ones? Yeah, slightly more messy ones. You've got most eggs crushed with the head in one minute and also in 30 seconds. So 142 is the mark for one minute. 142 eggs in a minute? I was going to give it a go, but I can't beat that.

42:02I've got a big head. I can crack a lot of eggs. That is crazy. 142 eggs cracked on the head in a minute. In a minute, yeah. And the 32nd mark is 70. So it's, yeah, it's rapid fire. Is there anything a bit easier? Again, I always say this, that no world records are easy. There's no low hanging through. But for a team of two, there is a thrown and caught in the mouth record. So that's you two standing two metres apart and then throwing eggs and deck catches them in the mouth. What is that record? Lord, this sounds good. That's 18 at the moment in one minute.

42:39Ant McPartlin:18 eggs caught in the mouth in one minute. That is the one. That is the one. That is a lot of fruit.

42:46Declan Donnelly:That's a lot of egg. Once I've caught it in my mouth, can I spit it out? You can indeed. You don't have to keep 18 eggs in your mouth. Can I eat a cup of just because he likes them? No. Okay. Right. Are we in? Yeah, we're in. Should we do it? Yes. Yes. I'm having that one. Right. Okay. Well, should we attempt that on the same day we do the bananas? I don't want to overstretch you. Yes. That's a good point. That's a good point. That's a good point. Okay. No, let's make a day of it. Let's make a day of it. Let's make a Guinness World Record day. I might have a barbecue as well. We'll have a special.

43:14Declan Donnelly:Yeah. We'll have stocky bread. The butter will be here by then.

43:20Ant McPartlin:Now, we talked on last week's show here, Will, about when we started the Great North Run, we high-fived almost every single person who ran past the start line. Is there a record for the most high fives? There is. And we do that in timeframes. so it's one minute or an hour. Right. In one minute, we're around the 200, I think it's 292 mark at the moment. I think we could do that. Easily. And then one hour is 2 ,515. So a bit more of a stamina attempt, that one. Well, we definitely done that.

43:51Declan Donnelly:I mean, we were there forever. Yeah. And we high-fived everyone. So how many runners are there at the Great North Run? 50 ,000? Something like that. Yeah, we've beaten that. So can you stick that in the book? Is that all right? Can that go straight in the book? Well, he said it. I said it. He said it. And if you just get another witness that was there on the day, does that count? I mean, if you can get a hold of the video evidence of this,

44:12Ant McPartlin:I can take a look for you. Oh, that's a bit more problematic. That just seems like a fast night.

44:18Declan Donnelly:Don't worry about it. You stick to eggs and bananas. We do have to talk to you about the world's biggest music quiz, which is happening very soon. Do you want to explain the world record it's happened and we'll explain the show? We're going to be monitoring that event on the 30th of April, I believe, which is for, we're going to be looking at the largest online quiz. So we want 15 ,225 entrants in the quiz for that to be a Guinness World Records title.

44:48Ant McPartlin:So that could get us in the Guinness Book of Records. And also it will be raising money for Cash for Kids, which is a very important charity.

44:55Declan Donnelly:A charity which we're parents for.

44:57Ant McPartlin:Yeah. So if we can do that, we'll not only raise loads of money for charity, we'll get ourselves in the Guinness Book of Records. Absolutely. And for us, we love attempts like this because we love people being part of record breaking. So really, you know, be part of it, get involved. I'd be very keen to absolutely see that record get smashed that day. Amazing. That would be so good.

45:18Declan Donnelly:You can only get smashed if people register their interest and join us on the day. Yeah. So if you are interested, get involved. It's For Cash For Kids. It's the world's biggest music quiz. We're hosting it. So be one of the members, somebody who takes part and hopefully we can break a record.

45:33Ant McPartlin:We need to get more than 15 ,225. Let's get the record. Will, thank you. We will see you for the music quiz. And also we'll see you for the next world record banana attempt and the new catching eggs in the mouth over a two metre distance in one minute. Nice one. Look forward to it. Thanks, Will. Thanks, Willie. Take care. Bye. Bye, bye. Just hang up. Ah, it's good to see Willie Nilly, right? It's always good to see, Will. So that World's Biggest Music Quiz taking place on the 30th of April across all Bauer stations, which is... So that's magic. Absolute.

46:06Declan Donnelly:Absolute hits radio. All of those stations. Get involved. Let's bring the record home. To a bright turn. This next segment is an advert for Gemini, Google's personal AI assistant.

46:20Ant McPartlin:Now, Ant. Yes, Declan. Do I know what this week is? Do I know what this week is? No, I don't. No, well. Tell me. This week is William Shakespeare's birthday. Is it? And also the anniversary of his death. He died and he was born on the same day. Yeah. How's your luck? How is your luck? I don't know if I'd want that. This week should have been his 462nd birthday.

46:43Declan Donnelly:Well, you say should have been. No one's ever going to live that long. So it's not should have been. No, no. But 462. Yeah. Wow.

46:50Ant McPartlin:Got me thinking. We've done a lot on this podcast over the last however many months. Of? Banana ratings. Yeah. My diary. Silly stuff. You're buying pants. Yeah, my pants. We haven't done anything high culture.

47:04Declan Donnelly:No, well, we talked about the cupping technology of the pants. I reiterate, we haven't done anything high culture. Okay, what do we do?

47:12Ant McPartlin:Well, I thought this week is the perfect week to invoke the spirit of Shakespeare and do some high culture on the show. Okay, come on then. What if you use Gemini to translate some of the parts of our show into ye olde English? Yeah, that's good. Let me get my specs on for this. Sexy specs. Right, you're going to type it in then. I'm going to put it in. So Gemini, we want our podcast to sound a bit more cultured. Please, can you write an introduction in early modern English? Listen, we have heard of the glory of the spear kings in days of old. But today, here they are, Ant and Dec. They are good men, skilled in wit and full of bliss.

47:59Ant McPartlin:You know that, Ben?

48:00Declan Donnelly:That's good. Come hither and hang out with us. Good, isn't it? I like that. That's a good intro, that.

48:08Ant McPartlin:That's very good. Let me try another one. Right. Gemini, we always start our podcast asking how our weeks have been. And I've usually taken the dogs for a walk. And I've usually spent an unholy amount of time loading my dishwasher. Let's have a look at what it comes up with.

48:37Declan Donnelly:Oh, yes. Pop that up. It's almost as if you guys knew a ruff. I've always wondered where I'm a ruff. That works. Oh, yeah. That works. Looked you well, my friend? How goes your week? Low deck I was in the woods with my hounds And though the earth was slick with rain I did not shrink from reclaiming their pungent tribute What? Picking up the dog poo

48:59Ant McPartlin:Picking up the dog poo Listen

49:01Declan Donnelly:Hold on, let me get me wrong

49:03Ant McPartlin:That is a noble life But I, I spent many hours with the brass vessels I set the plates into the cunningly wrought wash vat My toil is ended the damp carriage stands emptied of its ceramic hoard. You're strong, Deck.

49:23Declan Donnelly:The washer servant is a grim spirit to overcome. This is good. This is very good.

49:29Ant McPartlin:Well, that's it. That's been decided. I am only speaking like this from now to come hither. From now on. Henceforth. Henceforth. Henceforth. From now forever.

49:39Declan Donnelly:With Gemini, you can chat live with a truly helpful AI assistant. You jump in, brainstorm ideas, ask for more details, or even show it what you're talking about by sharing your screen or camera as well. It's there for a real chat, not just a quick question and done.

49:52Ant McPartlin:Download the Gemini app today to unlock the power of Google AI on your phone. Check responses, set up required, compatibility and availability varies. 18 plus. Adieu, fellows. Oh, well done. Shall we have a look at this postbar? Yes, come on. Let me whip the postbar out.

50:10Declan Donnelly:Let's have a look at a couple of letters. Hi, and Doug, on the way to the Lake District we stopped in at an American diner in Myerscough drinking our milkshakes we were surprised to find a giant mural featuring a car mechanic who looks suspiciously like deck waving we could not get over it our kids love seeing this as they are fans of you guys too love the pod Holly and Mike from Watford that does look like you that does look like me does that make me a time traveller? yeah You're also a time traveller and we never met each other. We're obviously going through different timelines. Yes. That's what's going on there.

50:48Declan Donnelly:Who's the girl below you? I'm not sure, but she's cute. I like her. She is cute. Maybe you and her had a thing back in the day.

50:54Ant McPartlin:But we were just so mismatched. I was so big and she was so small. That's very good. I like that a lot. Right, last letter. Go on.

51:02Declan Donnelly:Last letter. It's been stuck in the box for months and months and months, right? It's a recipe for sweet fried eggs. And the funny thing is, It's got nothing to do with eggs at all. Would you like us to make it for you? Would you? I would love it. You might have seen this, me making sweet fried eggs and why don't you? Yes, it's gone viral again. On the BBC archive. Do you want me to make it again? Can you do it? I can't post it. I don't even need the script. I can make it again. Come on. All I need is the crude ingredients. So what are you going to do, right? You've got to get slices. Of Swiss roll.

51:37Of Swiss roll. and you've got to slice them thinly like that. And that's going to be the base of your egg. This recipe is called sweet fried eggs. I don't like eggs. I don't like eggs. No, you don't like jam. Ah, but I do like jam. I do. I do like jam. He says this in the clip. Ah, no, I don't like jam, so I'm going to use marmalade. But I do like jam.

51:56Ant McPartlin:But he does like jam. He lied. I do like jam. I did lie. He lied for TV purposes. He lied for better content when I was 11 years old. He even produced them then. So you see how quickly the marmalade came, the Swiss roll came and the peach slices came. How far is the butter? Yeah, where's the butter? Nearly here. Nearly here. Right, so you take your sliced Swiss roll, you get a knife and then you get your marmalade because I don't like jam. He does like jam, he's a liar. You spread that on there, which will help. So that would be a piece of your egg. Now my issue is I don't like marmalade. Well, I'll do one with marmalade.

52:36order some jam one without you don't need it necessarily oh don't you no looking back on the recipe now I'm still unsure

52:42Declan Donnelly:why I did the marmalade just because it's yeah and also the Swiss rolls already got jam in it yeah come on why don't you aunt you're talking you're behind so you get squirty cream you get squirty cream so you go round round the outside like that so then there's the white of the egg so flatten that down with the knife please and I'll do another one here on this side. Do you use that amount of cream? No, you don't have to use that amount of cream. I just got carried away. I like the process of squirting the cream more than the actual cream. And then, you got it wrong, guys. It's like half peach.

53:22Declan Donnelly:You need like half a peach. Not peach slices. Not peach slices. Excuse me, fingers, because they've got the peach slices wrong. It's not really worked out as well as, oh, now I've dropped the... You used to be better at this. Turns out I can't do it. Used to be better at this. Turns out I did it in one take when I was 11. Oh, they're very slippery. They're very slippery. So there you go. There's my new version of Sweet Fairness, which I can't make as well as I did when I was 11. I'll wild all of you before me voice it broke. Very good. What a shame. We've got a little surprise for you. Have you?

54:00Yeah, have a listen to this. Hello, Ant. It's Russell T. Davis here. With many happy memories of those days we spent making Why Don't You. What? What a laugh. For some reason, we decided the Newcastle gang should all live on a double-decker bus and drive around the place. I remember one episode. We swung the swing bridge in the middle of Newcastle over the time. That was very exciting. I loved it. I remember you so clearly because you were so brilliant and so hardworking. You were very quiet then. Quiet, hardworking boy. And I wrote all those scripts. They're the first things I ever wrote. Oh, my God.

54:34£250 per script I got paid. And even those recipes and stuff all need a script. So that was me sitting on an old-fashioned typewriter, bashing them out. Very happy days. So proud of everything you've done since. Genuinely, I think you're brilliant. Held back by the other fella, obviously, but you've won't be completely well. Thank you, Russell T Davies. And genuinely, nice to say hello. So proud of you. Congratulations. And many, many, many happy memories. Oh, my God. What a lovely surprise that was. Who knew? Did you ever know Russell T Davies, Russell?

55:03Declan Donnelly:I remember a Welsh guy being there, but I never put two and two together. I do. I do remember because we used to sit in this old church hall and we used to like do read-throughs and stuff. Oh my God, it's the Russell T Davies.

55:15Ant McPartlin:How amazing is that?

55:17Declan Donnelly:Oh my God. Well, we're flattered. We're flattered that you've done a voice note. You are TV royalty and we thank you very much. How amazing. Wow.

55:26Ant McPartlin:That is incredible. Even though he slated you a little bit. Yeah, I'm not really a fan of his, but there you go. Love you, Russell Right, that's it That's it Do you want to try one of the sweet fried eggs? No, thank you They look delicious Yeah, but But I'm going to save myself For some lunch For real eggs Hello?
