2:05Declan Donnelly:Lovely, lovely coffee there.
2:07Anthony McPartlin:What's your go-to coffee? Why'd you put your thumb out like that? I don't know. I've never done that before.
2:13Declan Donnelly:It's funny, isn't it?
2:14Anthony McPartlin:I don't know.
2:16Declan Donnelly:Don't make it a thing.
2:17Anthony McPartlin:I like to do this when I ask a question. What's your go-to coffee? Yeah. You know, you do when people - Take your glasses off. Take your glasses off. What's your go-to coffee?
2:26Declan Donnelly:I like extra strong. latte but I like it with not a lot of milk I don't like too much milk so if I was to if I was in a place that was really good at making coffees I'd ask for a cortado
2:40Anthony McPartlin:oh that sounds exotic
2:42Declan Donnelly:which is like an espresso double espresso but with a little bit of foamy milk on top what's an Americano Americano is just black coffee oh okay well black that's coffee without milk well that's what my daughter has a black Americano so coffee without milk but what could you have Americano is just like a long coffee. Like there's a lot of coffee in it. Do you know what I mean? Is that not what a latte is though? No, a latte is espresso shots with milk. With lots of milk. Lots of formula milk, yeah.
3:13Anthony McPartlin:See, it's a minefield. This is why I don't drink coffee. It's a minefield. I don't know what to ask for. Do you want a tongue twister about coffee? Yes. Yes. Okay. I drink coffee from a proper copper coffee pot.
3:24Declan Donnelly:I drink coffee from a proper copper coffee pot.
3:27Anthony McPartlin:Yes. I drink coffee from a proper coffee coffee pot. Copper coffee pot. So I win. So it turns out I'm the winner. I wasn't really trying.
3:36Declan Donnelly:It turns out I'm the best.
3:37Anthony McPartlin:I wasn't really trying. I am the best. I'm going to try now. I drink coffee from a proper coffee coffee cup. I really tried there. I bought a new coffee machine. Another one? Another one? Another one? No, another one.
3:50Declan Donnelly:Oh my God, it's sensational. How many is this now? So there's so many people. Now my kids have got boyfriends, and not all three of them. The girls have got boyfriends while they're still too young. Boyfriends and they've got friends popping around. It's been their summer holidays. They all need a coffee machine each. I said, what I can't be doing is making loads of coffees and grinding the beans and all that kind of stuff. All of that, the ritual, which I like doing for myself.
4:13Anthony McPartlin:For yourself.
4:14Declan Donnelly:And my wife. But when the house is full, it's a bit of a pain to be getting them all the time to be making them. So I thought I need one where you can just press a button, but it can make different coffees. So my daughter drinks Americano. The other one will have something else. Other people will have different things. So you can program it to make six different hot coffees and six different cold coffees. So you can have an iced latte or iced milk coffee.
4:38Anthony McPartlin:What a waste of time.
4:40Declan Donnelly:No, that's not. It's a time-saving device, actually. If you let me finish. So you've got the coffee machine. But in the coffee machine is a mini fridge. And you open the door and you have a milk reservoir. and then the next door you have a water reservoir. So once you fill your milk and you fill your water and you shut the doors, all you've got to do is press a button and it goes, so you want latte? Okay. That makes it. It's like an airport lounge. You've never been in an airport lounge? Never. You've never been in an airport lounge? No.
5:12Anthony McPartlin:Yes, you have. I don't travel like you. I go, I check you go straight to the gate.
5:17Declan Donnelly:Shut up. You've been in an airport lounge. So they make hundreds, hundreds of copies a day. Yeah. It's the same principle. It's an airport lounge style coffee machine. Wow. It's class.
5:29Anthony McPartlin:Right, let's get to those phones. All right. The flashing blade. What if we go? Who's on line one? Memory full. Memory full. What do you mean it's full? Full? It's because we've been away, isn't it? What do we do? Yeah, I think we actually, we got you an answering machine while you were away. Oh, that's old school.
5:48Declan Donnelly:Oh, have we? Is that what that is? Yeah.
5:51Anthony McPartlin:Yeah. Ah.
5:53Declan Donnelly:We used to have one of these. When we shared our first flat, we had an answering machine. And we recorded a message. Well, we taped the beginning of the Pulp Fiction soundtrack and the spoken word bit, and we put it on answering machine. And it was the bit where it was like, any of you freaks move and I'll execute every mother f***ed last one of you. Which didn't go down well with Dexman. Did it?
6:19Anthony McPartlin:No, it didn't. Didn't go down terribly well. Sorry for that again. But we got, it was... Funny though. It was funny. So yeah, you can record your own greeting on these things. Yeah, we know. Have you done one? Maybe.
6:32Declan Donnelly:Oh God, can we hear it? Yeah, just press play.
6:35Anthony McPartlin:Okay.
6:38Anthony McPartlin:Hey, strange as it may seem. And today I'm not in a hangout. If they were here, they would take out the point that they're not. So leave the message at the beep Beep Yay!
6:55Declan Donnelly:Merry Christmas That was us He's the real one
7:00Anthony McPartlin:That was great! I love that Well done!

7:06Declan Donnelly:That is amazing So, Jermaine, did your parents organise that?
7:09Anthony McPartlin:Yeah
7:12Declan Donnelly:That is really good That's brilliant Really good, well done, well done, hecklers well done and a wedding Fiona you've been busy this summer you've been busy
7:24Anthony McPartlin:so have we got all of our messages on the answer machine
7:27Declan Donnelly:they are
7:27Anthony McPartlin:just press play alright come on then hit it hey Ann and Dex I'm Nia from Sunset and I'm turning 29 next month I'm dreading hitting 30 next year my question for you is was there an age that you were approaching that you had anxiety around or were just dreading a little bit I know we should be grateful for every birthday that we have and I am But there's something about leaving my 20s that's just giving me severe anxiety. So if you have any advice for a girl dreading leaving her 20s and hitting the big three, I would very much appreciate it. Okay, guys, love you. Love the pod.
8:00Declan Donnelly:Was that on double speed? It sounded like she was on double speed, didn't you?
8:04Anthony McPartlin:Leah, I can completely relate. Really bothered you, didn't it? I had a real meltdown going into my 30s, turning 30. Oh, I was dreading it. I was absolutely dreading it. But let me tell you, right? What happens is you will dread, dread, dread, dread, dread it all the way up until the day. And you'll probably be out the night before, might have a few drinkies and you'll wake up on your 30th birthday and you'll be 30 years old. And what's going to happen is you're going to open your eyes and you're going to look around you and nothing will have changed. You will feel exactly the same. You might feel a little bit worse work because you're having a few drinkies.
8:44Anthony McPartlin:But you'll open your eyes in. The room will be the same. You will be the same. You will feel exactly the same. And that is the moment that I realised that age isn't anything but a number. Doesn't matter. You are only as old as you feel. And it doesn't matter. Becoming 30, it's no big deal, let me tell you. And this has come from somebody who was really not looking forward to turning 30. You've never had an issue with that, Have you?
9:10Declan Donnelly:Me on the other hand, couldn't care less. Well, I think probably because I've got my attitude. Like it doesn't matter. You know, I don't feel, I don't feel 50 now. You know, I don't feel, I didn't feel 30 when I was 30. I think you feel as young as you act and who you hang around with and, you know, what you watch, what you listen to. So yeah, it doesn't bother me. I'm just grateful to be here, guys. Exactly. Grateful to be here. Aging is a privilege.
9:32Anthony McPartlin:How old do you mentally feel in your head?
9:35Declan Donnelly:How old do I mentally feel?
9:37Anthony McPartlin:Yeah.
9:37Declan Donnelly:16?
9:38Anthony McPartlin:Really? Nah, I'm joking.
9:40Declan Donnelly:How you act.
9:42Anthony McPartlin:Not 30. Yeah, I feel like I'm early 30s. Mentally stopped at early 30s. Yeah, like 33.
9:48Declan Donnelly:Yeah, 33 specifically. I don't know, but 33, 33 and a half.
9:53Anthony McPartlin:33 and four months. Yeah, early 30s. Yeah. It's not, it's honestly, Leah, don't worry about it. Right, next one. Hi, guys, it's Lisa in Barton and Humber. Hi, Lisa. It's not my first time asking you a question. In November 1996, I was a caller on Live and Kicking, and I asked you, as you spend so much time together, is there anything that annoys you about each other? I am curious as to whether you can remember what your response was that day. And, of course, I really want to know, 30 years on, is there anything that annoys you about each other? you did answer someone else that day saying that you really hoped to still be around doing what you're doing 20 years on.
10:39Anthony McPartlin:I'm really glad that you are. Aw, that's nice. Respect guys. Aw, Lisa. Respect to you, Lisa.
10:45Declan Donnelly:How about that? Second time caller. That's brilliant. I love that. I do remember that. I remember going on live and kicking. I remember taking answers on the phones because it was quite a big deal to be asked to take calls from callers on the line, wasn't it? And you remember Lisa? You felt like, don't remember her specifically. But I remember doing it. I remember thinking, that's a big deal that we asked to do that. You know, it's quite a privilege.
11:09Anthony McPartlin:Yeah.
11:09Declan Donnelly:I don't remember what my answer would have been.
11:11Anthony McPartlin:Do you want to hear?
11:12Declan Donnelly:Yeah. Have you got it? Yeah.
11:14Anthony McPartlin:Well, hang on. Let's have a little guess.
11:15Declan Donnelly:Okay. Why is not everything's a game? She had it there to play.
11:21Anthony McPartlin:No glasses. I reckon, did I say, I'm picking his nose. And what would you have said about me? The deck farting. He farted lords back then. Right, this is Zoe Ball introducing the caller. Zoe Ball? Hello, Lisa. I'm beside you. Through to the boys. What's your question? You spend so much time together,
11:40Declan Donnelly:so is there anything that annoys you about each other? Oh, aye, loads of things, really. Do you know what I mean? Not that much I could say. Oh, come on.
11:49Anthony McPartlin:I think it's always just when we're tired and it's just little things about each other. When Dec leaves the margarine out the fridge, it's really and really annoying. Not again.
11:59Declan Donnelly:That is a big sin But the thing is
12:01Anthony McPartlin:If you take it out of the fridge Right It's nice And it's just nice to spread Flossed It's stocked in the fridge You're totally If you leave it in If you leave it in It rips up your bread Am I right? Am I right?
12:14Declan Donnelly:We didn't guess it did we? We didn't get it Didn't guess that Didn't get it Margarine Margarine It's like a It's on the band list Of things to eat now Isn't it? Margarine
12:25Anthony McPartlin:It's like cakes
12:26Declan Donnelly:Yeah only for cakes You never use margarine these days
12:31Anthony McPartlin:Fuck So And is there anything nowadays Do you leave the butter out of the fridge now still? No I'm not allowed Current Mrs D puts that away I do try and sneak it out of the fridge And leave it out for a bit
12:44Declan Donnelly:Sneak it out of the fridge
12:47Anthony McPartlin:No I just try and take it out And then leave it like By the bread bin Hide it by the bread bin Let it melt a little bit Let it melt a little bit Otherwise I still have the same issue It rips up my bread I don't like it Is there anything? Nothing. Nothing that outnows us about each other? No. He annoys me when Ant talks over me like this. Yeah, shut up. Thank you, Lisa. That was brilliant.
13:08Declan Donnelly:Thank you. That was very good. Amazing. What a lovely trip to have memory lane.
13:12Anthony McPartlin:This next bit is brought to you by Gemini, Google's AI app. Golf was good the other day. It was good, wasn't it? I loved it. Are you stiff? Oh, my God. I'm really stiff.
13:21Declan Donnelly:I never used to get this stiff. Obviously, we're getting a bit older. Do you want me to ask Gemini to see if there's a good kitchen stretch? I think that is a very good idea. Gemini, please can you give Deck some stretches to do after golf in the kitchen when the kid's gone to bed? Okay. Gemini says, here's a quick, quiet kitchen routine for Deck. Hold each for 20 to 30 seconds and breathe deeply. Okay. Lat and spine stretch. grip the edge of the sink step back hinge at the hips until the torso is parallel this is the kitchen sink that's it that's it that's it that's a good one so breathe breathe breathe
14:05Anthony McPartlin:it's got me hammies as well
14:06Declan Donnelly:and breathe out there you go well done the kids are in bed so you can't be that loud oh yeah that's a good point
14:13Anthony McPartlin:that's a good little routine
14:14Declan Donnelly:that was good good little routine
14:15Anthony McPartlin:we don't stretch enough full stop
14:17Declan Donnelly:we don't stretch enough
14:18Anthony McPartlin:we don't stretch ourselves We're in our comfort zone.
14:23Declan Donnelly:So there you go. With Gemini, you can chat live with a truly helpful AI assistant. 14:51Anthony McPartlin:Hi, guys. This is Alex from Newcastle. On the back of an interaction I had with Dec. Interaction? Not sure if you'll remember, but I did ask him at Heathrow Airport to take a photo with my mum, but it was my mum in Lego version. I did realise as I walked away that I only asked him to take a photo with little Sandra Lego and not actually myself, so I hope he didn't think that was rude. what other random or weird things have you guys been asked to do or say in the wild? Thanks, guys.
15:27Declan Donnelly:In the wild. I do remember that.
15:30Anthony McPartlin:And I thought that was a bit weird. And also there is always a sneaking suspicion in the back of your head, like, is this for real? Like, is this really the Lego mom? Or is she stitching me up here?
15:41Declan Donnelly:Yeah. And we've had photos with stuffed animals and toys and teddy bears and bras and knickers and all of those things over the years. Yeah, we've had quite a lot of weird interactions and asks, haven't we?
16:00Anthony McPartlin:Yes. Do you remember when charity wristbands were a thing?
16:03Declan Donnelly:Yeah.
16:04Anthony McPartlin:And we got asked a lot, didn't we, to wear wristbands for different charities?
16:07Declan Donnelly:And you just take it on face value and you go, okay, that's a genuine thing then, of course. It helps someone.
16:14Anthony McPartlin:And we did one, had the photograph, and then ended up on a BBC documentary about the mother of all cons.
16:21Declan Donnelly:Yeah.
16:23Anthony McPartlin:I was watching the documentary and I was like, it's quite good, this. Oh my God, that's us! Let's have another one. Hi, Ant and Dirk. I have a question for you. having been best friends a long time what are you most proud of for each other other than of course your careers I'm Becky from Newton-Aklift thank you
16:44Declan Donnelly:no thank you Becky thank you Becky for your very sincere question a lot of females on the answer for messages
16:51Anthony McPartlin:there are it's like my voicemail that what filled with girls going wild going wild oh god back of the day
17:01Declan Donnelly:what am I proud of I'm proud of his humbleness, of just how this humility. I'm very proud of Decker as a man, you know, as a human, as a dad, as a person. He's a good person. And I think there's something to be said about it. I forget all the career stuff. He's a good person.
17:19Anthony McPartlin:It's very nice of you to say it. Thank you. I do try my best. I try to be nice. It's nice to be nice.
17:24Declan Donnelly:This is the guy that rang the services when he hadn't paid for his food. He rang them and paid money to charity. A lot of people would just go, got away with that. But he didn't.
17:33Anthony McPartlin:I did wait a lot after eating my sandwich in case they tried to take it back.
17:39Anthony McPartlin:I would say I am most proud of Ant. Of. I think, well, it's something we talked about in the last pod, actually. Your first ever tattoo. Yes. And I am really proud of him, the way that he has managed and dealt with the adversity you've faced in your life and how you took it on yourself to make yourself a better person and to improve yourself and to change the path of your life and how well you've done and how you have given yourself and given your family a whole new life and the way that you have taken responsibility and done all of that. And I think your first tattoo completely sums it up, how brilliantly you've faced your issues and your problems and turned your life around.
18:36Anthony McPartlin:I think that is a real testament.
18:39Declan Donnelly:Thank you. See, and that coming from a good man means a lot. Thanks. It does mean a lot.
18:48Anthony McPartlin:Oh, nice.
18:50Declan Donnelly:Let's have a funny one. Keep it light. Play.
18:52Anthony McPartlin:Hello, I'm Zadek. It's Georgie from Portsmouth. Hello, Georgie. Me and my husband have started a little war with our best friends. we have keys to each other's houses and it started by moving their ducks that are in the bathroom around their house every time we went around there but now it's sort of escalated to us hiding 100 mini ducks in their house they then hid another 100 mini ducks in our house do you have any ideas of what we could do in their house? doesn't have to be duck related could be the nine related but any ideas are very very welcome peace and love, respect guys
19:26Declan Donnelly:thank you I think it should be duck related definitely duck related because that's the start of the gag if you can get into the house for a longer period of time so if you could get in the morning like wallpaper their living room with duck wallpaper would be a good one because it's not vandalising it's not it's not it's not tastefully done you're tastefully done so that's going to be permanent I think the permanence of this is where mischief goes from this level to this level and I'm all about this level of this part.
19:59Anthony McPartlin:You've got to be very careful though because this could escalate.
20:02Declan Donnelly:You've got to be careful pointing fingers at me.
20:04Anthony McPartlin:You've got to be careful because this could escalate. Yeah, it's already escalated. What you give out is going to come back to you. Yeah, it is.
20:12Declan Donnelly:And I'm for it. Here for it. I get myself down there. I've got a wall paper table. Or hide a tiny little speaker somewhere in the house where it just goes, quack, quack, quack, quack, quack. Oh dear. Wah wah. And they'll never find out where it is. And you could be out in the car outside just going, pressing the button like wah wah.
20:32Anthony McPartlin:Wah wah. That'd be good. Like a fart machine, but it's a quack machine. Yes. Which is full of duck related japes and shenanigans here.
20:41Declan Donnelly:That's good though. We like this. Stay in touch. Yeah. Stay in touch and let us know. And we want videos, photos, and eventually the fallout from your wonderful friendship.
20:52Anthony McPartlin:Let's quack on. Hey!
20:54Declan Donnelly:Let's quack on. Here we go. Respect, guys. Oh, fella.
20:58Anthony McPartlin:My question to you. Definitely, fella. If aliens was going to come down to Earth and there was only the choice of either you and or you, Deck, to make first contact, which one of you would make the first contact on what would your first word be towards the aliens? It should be me. We all know that it should be me. Don't we? We all know it should be me. Because... Why? It's a big moment and we can't risk. What? We can't risk wallpaper and the spaceship and duck-related nonsense. So we all know it should be me who makes first contact.
21:35Declan Donnelly:But it won't be because he'd be too scared. This should be me. But, oh, my God, it's aliens. You get out there.
21:41Anthony McPartlin:What would you say then? First of all, I come in peace. We want to work together with you.
21:49Declan Donnelly:On what? A new project? Me and I put them together. Bright TV. Will you be in I'm a celebrity, Wild Frontier?
21:57Anthony McPartlin:Has anybody ever pitched you a fly on the wall documentary? Have you got a podcast? Shall I take you to my leader? Do you want to come on our podcast? We come in peace. We want to work together and enrich both of our civilisations. No, is that not a good opening gambit? Yes. What would you say? What do you want?
22:22Declan Donnelly:No, what do you want? what is the secret well that was going to be
22:24Anthony McPartlin:my next question after I've
22:26Declan Donnelly:what do you want and also we've got a list of questions we need to get to how long have you been around have you been watching us have you been in our haven't you seen Britain's Got Talent
22:34Anthony McPartlin:I'm a celebrity not us I'm in the human race are we in outer space have we made it as our reach
22:42Declan Donnelly:no they're not out there listening to the podcast they might be even though it is out of this world clip it up clip it clip up my goal yeah I'd like to to know how long they've been around if they've been here before are we part of a great civilisation which bred with the aliens thousands upon thousands of years ago I think you might be overwhelming them a little bit with questions why? but they've got the answers they hold all the answers unless they don't I say oh okay I'll cut it short are you the aliens with the answers and they say no I say well Dak wants to speak to you
