0:17Victoria:Hey girls, welcome back to the Her Game Days podcast. It is the first day of NFL season 2026 and we are back for our pick six which is the top six stories that we like to talk about in the NFL every week and today is more exciting than normal because we have brought in one of my friends to do the show with us this season for the Wednesday pick six so Jojo hi hey girl how we doing I'm excited to have you we were just talking about before we came on like it feeling like a first day of school and like being a little nervous so nervous but so excited yeah I said to talk everything football for the girlies every yeah and every week I like this format too because I feel like we can kind of cover everything and anything that we want around the NFL, like what the hottest topics are, what the girls are talking about in the group chat, like things that need to be addressed.

1:27Victoria:And I think that you have a great perspective and you've obviously been a fan for so long that you have some like really strong football knowledge and you also like love the culture side. So I think it's going to be super exciting. Do you want to do you want to introduce yourself? Yeah, I'm Jojo Cash. Yes, Jojo Cash Money, jcash money joe mama mojo whatever you want to call me um i've been playing fantasy football since 2012 um amongst other fantasy sports so i had a lot of experience um i think my first draft i drafted a kicker in probably the third or fourth round um like a noob um so i've learned from then And, yeah, I'm a big sports better, too.

2:20And I'm also a programmer in the sports prediction market industry. So, got a lot of experience in sports these days, and I cannot wait for this season. And also a big Bills fan, if you can't see Josh Allen jumping over my window sill right there. Yeah. No big deal. That was a good intro. I didn't know if you were going to be prepared for that. I feel like I've been thinking about it for a little bit, but I just want the people to know I do know what I'm talking about.

2:57Victoria:Your whole life really is sports, though, because your life is sports and sports betting. Yep. Yep. It started out as like a distraction just like to because I was so bored on Sundays, I guess. And I just got into it. And then once sports betting became legal in New York, just kind of opened up a whole new industry and hobby, I guess you could say. Responsible hobby, though. I'm responsible, I promise. Play responsibly, please. Yes. Okay, so I told you about the model already, right? Or you saw it on my close friend's story? what model which okay oh yes i do remember this yep but i feel like i have to tell the girls because this is crazy so definitely my instagram grew a ton which is how like a bunch of people found me through once we partnered with sportsish we kind of grew like tripled and i asked like does anybody know anybody who does merch and a couple girls responded like hey i work in merch like i work in production side of stuff.

4:08Victoria:And I was like, okay, great. And then one girl messages me and says like, oh, like if you need a model, let me know. And I just responded like, okay, girl, like sounds good. Great. And I didn't open her profile and then I opened her profile and she's a Victoria's Secret model. Oh my god. That is iconic. Like no big deal. I model for Victoria's Secret. Holy cow. Yeah like that's even though Victoria's Secret's like come under like flack lately it's a prestigious job and like it's like the top. Yeah I'd say so. Holy shit. Yeah so then I have to tell you about one other person that followed me. Okay.

4:59Victoria:Do you want to guess or do you want me to just tell you? There's so many people. Okay, she is a sports icon. She, like, changed the world of tennis maybe 20, 30 years ago. Serena Williams? No, that would be crazy. Billie Jean King. Billie Jean King? Holy shit. What? i know literally and i'm like a never meet your heroes person because i'm like am i supposed to say hi like am i supposed to dm her and be like hey girl what's up because it makes me nervous and like i i'm like never meet your heroes because i don't know what to say like i'm such a big fan like you're so inspiring you literally changed the world for women like you're literally one of the most iconic people ever that's that's what you say that's what you say that's literally what you say like followed me so long ago then now i'm like oh you gotta jump on that because she i know so that's epic though that's so epic i've been waiting to tell you because i feel like that is like like number of followers like whatever but like billy june king's a big deal and she's doing She's doing so much work right now.

6:18Victoria:Like, she just had shoes, like, Billie Jean King shoes come out. She's, like, doing, like, other ventures with women in sports. I really should have looked up the details. But she's, like, busy right now, like, increasing the world of women. Good for her. That's awesome. Did you know I played tennis in high school and college, too? I mean, D3. I didn't. So she's huge. Like, that's awesome. Yeah, that's so badass. So, yeah, I didn't know you played tennis. Wow. I know you play pickleball now, but... Yeah, pickleball too. Yeah. Yeah. But that's awesome. Well, let's get in to our picks for the week.

6:57Victoria:So if this is your first time here for Pick 6, we pick six of the top stories that we love, want to talk about, are most interesting or need to be talked about in the NFL, depending on the week. And we're going to start out today with... The Buffalo Bills quarterback, Josh Allen, has become the CEO and executive producer with the launch of Out of Pocket Studios, a media venture backing entertainment, commercial and experiential projects. He is the CEO, which is a wild time to launch. Insane. Right. Right before the season starts. Right before the season starts. And the first production, America's Tailgate, will air on CBS, apparently this weekend.

7:48Victoria:And there's an analyst, Nate Burlington and Melanie Collins, will be in it, which premieres this weekend. And then that's cool. I know. And then they're also going to do a like a family friendly series NFL play action, which is a comedy series. So he's doing things. that's wild i mean he's one of the highest paid quarterbacks and now a ceo it's kind of a weird combo to be honest but do you think he's gonna retire soon i don't think so i mean he's in his prime right now i know that's what i was silly but he is a new dad he is oh my god he is so he got he got married yeah to that's insane one of the biggest stars one of the biggest stars um had a baby had a playoff run now many playoff runs many playoff runs now he's the ceo and executive producer which i guess kind of makes sense because they they're announcing it now that it's coming out but he's probably been working on it since true right after like one season closed he was working on it and he has a partner so I feel like that makes sense in him being able to do it like it's not like he's bootstrapping his way up from like working a desk job to like entertainment and i wonder if hayley has anything to do with it like is she i i would guess that she's definitely behind it just like she has got to have so much experience from everything and and he's probably just planning for his retirement you know in hopefully 20 years he's gonna be the tom brady um gonna play forever but right he better start winning tom brady he's got a lot of records to catch all right he this is our year i don't know if you know that but this is our year for the bills that's it's a famous zang uh in buffalo and And for Buffalo Bills fans, like, this is our year every year.

10:25Victoria:But I feel like every team is like that. Like, every team is like, this is our year. Even like the Cardinals, you're like, this is our year. And it's like, what? Oh, boy.

10:35Victoria:Like, everyone says, like, we had a really good offseason. Like, this is our year. And it's like, this. Sure. Okay. Sure. But, okay, I have a question. So I watched this Instagram today and it was this guy and he was saying that pretty much people have like almost like goldfish syndrome with Josh Allen. Like no quarterback who has never won a Super Bowl has as much likability as Josh Allen. Like Josh Allen, people like he'll lose in the playoffs and then people will be like, they'll say it's everybody else's fault. It's never Josh Allen's fault. And then they'll be like upset with him for like a week.

11:20Victoria:But then they like bounce back to him being like the most likable man in the NFL. He's hard to hate. He's like, I understand the goldfish syndrome theory. But last year, I'll say he did a lot. He did a lot and he didn't have much to throw through. So. So do you think. I think this. Yeah. do you think josh allen has pretty privilege in the eyes of the media absolutely of course because he's such a likable dude too like yeah he can do no wrong like i was there's so much stuff about our lord and savior josh allen on instagram like that's how people refer to him yeah but like he's just a good dude too like he does a lot for charities and um yeah when i was watching this too when i was watching that video i was like part of the reason why josh allen is so likable is like he is a great quarterback right like that's like you can't dispute that he's a great yeah quarterback he is like a great representation of buffalo yeah but it's also like we could actually, if Josh Allen did anything crazy, like if he got into like a domestic dispute, got a DUI, it would like shake the core of the earth because like it would be so shocking.

12:50Absolutely. He wouldn't be that, that guy anymore. That's for sure.

12:56Victoria:Crazy because then we think about like all of the people that we like, that like the NFL gives excuses to. Yeah. And then it's like Josh Allen just would like he would never. Same with like Jared Goff. Would never. Not to name our two quarterbacks. But like even like Tua Tagovailoa. Like I feel like he has a bad rap but he's like a good dude. You know? Yeah. He seems like a good dude. Yeah. Yeah. It's like the NFL pretty boys versus the NFL. I don't know what to call them. Bad boys. Yeah. The bad boys. The bad boys but like in the worst way. Yeah, the worst. Yeah. Yeah. Voldemort from Cleveland Browns, who is now the starting quarterback.

13:44Victoria:I actually feel like I would start sweating if we talk about that because that— Look, I think the girls all agree because I talked about it on my story and was just like, I can't fathom this. and all the girls were like, we literally can't. And they're like, okay, this is one of the things that I hate that men do the most. They'll be like, well, the ROI. And I'm like, ugh. I'm like, the ROI? Like, do you know how much money you're going to lose because people hate you now? Right. Because 47 % of the NFL fan base are women. And now they hate you because you don't care? Because ROI, which also like nobody's going to be buying his jersey.

14:27Victoria:Nope. They're not buying his jersey. They're not, like, the deals are going to be fewer. Like, I don't understand. Shadour is pompous, sure, and you're going to lose money. But, like, didn't the Dolphins hit, like, the Dolphins had a huge debt. There was so much dead cap. There was, like, probably close to a billion dollars in dead cap last year. Yeah. I don't get it. I just don't get it. Like, he looked awful, too, in the preseason compared to Shadour. like yeah insane it's like just leave him on the bench just leave him on the bench ride it out and then what if she do or gets hurt like even though their own fan base is hating on it like not just the women too it's right it's the men too like this is just terrible it's it's actually so crazy and he was like i think there was that press conference where he's like you know i used to not take it personal but like this is personal it's like yeah it is personal yeah yeah it is it's like you chose a side cleveland front office that's yeah yeah it's insane brutal well glad that miles garrett yeah glad he got out well that takes us to the next story actually so do you think that Cleveland is tanking?

15:48Victoria:I don't care about Cleveland. Okay, fair. So to me, don't care. Like, I think it's like, when I was a little bit younger, my sister, while I was dating, I say that like I'm married now. I have a boyfriend. I just remember I was in my 20s and I was like dating around and like, you know, you meet a bunch of like, some cool guys, You meet a lot of not cool guys. And my sister told me, she's like, when somebody shows you who they are, you have to believe them on the first time. Because she was like, you keep seeing who people are and then not believing it. And then believing that there's something else, even though they literally wrote it out on paper for you.

16:32Victoria:This is who I am. And I think the Cleveland Browns did that. And I think energy, and I know I sound like a woo-woo hippie, but like, I think that energy matters. I think that the people on that team are going to have an extremely hard time. They've, like, essentially bullied Shadour in, like, the prove-yourself mentality, even though they took him in round six. Like, why are we bullying a guy who got taken him round six? Like, regardless of how he showed up prior to that, like, he's a round six QB. So just, like, act like it and stop putting him in these, like, crazy positions. You, like, essentially, bully is a strong word, but, like, you did not treat him well.

17:10Victoria:Then you put the best, the worst guy into the position and then you stood by it. And now you're asking your entire team to get behind this who are watching should or be better in preseason. And I just don't like fan base matters a lot, too, because like you go into stadiums and the guys can't hear because they're so hyped up. And the Browns just demolished any chance of having that. Yeah. So I think they're cooked. I feel bad for Browns fans. Yeah, I do too. I have family that are Browns fans and they're absolutely cooked. The vibes are off. Like, even when Deshawn wasn't there last year, he, I don't know, the way, like you said, the way they treated Shador was just off.

17:58Like, why? He's a kid, like, build him up. Build him up. Don't break him down. Something is off.

18:07Victoria:Yeah, because everyone's like, it's about his family. And I'm like, but, like, everybody's had something. Don't draft him. Like, come on. Insane. Insane. And then who was the guy from Kansas City that they picked up when he got arrested for something? The running back. Where's he at? I don't remember. Because I just feel like Browns love picking up. Oh, Cream Hunt. They love picking up. Yeah, exactly. They love picking up bad boys. Honestly. So. Yeah, I don't I don't understand why they're tanking. And maybe I don't know enough about college football to know what's coming up. But it just makes no sense.

19:00It makes no sense.

19:04Is the story just that they're tanking? yeah I mean they let Miles Garrett go they're probably best player and then

19:12Victoria:that was such a bad decision yeah that was their whole fan base probably was Miles Garrett and then do we think any other teams are tanking Jets maybe I think the Jets are on the up and up you think? yeah I like the Jets I can't agree with you there I know it's a hot take. It is. Okay, here's the thing. Okay. I want to fully rebrand the Jets. I think the Jets need to hire a creative director. I think they need to revamp everything. But I think that Aaron Glenn actually can be like the guy in terms of the coaching staff. I think their ownership needs to step out and step back because the owners seem to be have like it doesn't matter who the coaches or the quarterback is like it keeps flopping and that's going to come from like the top down.

20:22Victoria:um so that's fair owners need to step back let Aaron Glenn and their GM take the reins actually do something and I think they need to rebrand everything I want new uniforms I want new um new social media I want new pep talks I want a new locker room I want a new field like I want maybe their own field like it's like you know when you're a kid and you um you like get your did your parents ever like redo your room oh like I would do it oh okay okay well still same thing like you're young and you're like I need to redo my whole room oh yeah okay okay yeah and then you get into your new room it's like you're you literally got like a new bedspread and like painted the walls but like you feel like it's like the newest place ever like that's what the Jets need because the Jets like they're they're like lineup isn't horrible but they're the energy around them is so sad and like the entire Jets fan base is like we're gonna lose again and it's like well yeah it's like everyone with that attitude I hate to say that but like if everyone thinks you're gonna lose all the time but I think Jets fans are pretty hyped up right now.

21:40Victoria:And I think that this is an, okay, final thoughts. This is an opportunity year for the Jets where I know that like Geno Smith, like a lot of people like, hey, Geno Smith, but I think it's an opportunity year for everyone in the building, for Geno, for Aaron Glenn, for the guys who have been on the team for a little while. Like the changeover of the new staff has occurred. we have a different quarterback coming in again who even like but like i think like geno smith and like i don't know i hate to say but like is how much better is like geno smith than like cj stroud or how much worse i don't think he's great but he was on the jets years ago a few years ago and then he's coming back.

22:33And I don't know if he's gotten better since because he was on the Raiders last year. No, something like that. I don't know. I'm not impressed by Gino other than that one year he was on Seattle and he did pretty well there. But I don't know. It's tough. It's tough.

22:57Victoria:Okay, so Gino Smith hasn't been on the Jets since 2016 2016 10 years ago he's 35 oh i shit i didn't realize it's that long but wait you know what makes me like him here what he's a libra oh he is yes oh my god just like us when's his birthday october 10th 1990 amazing oh wait i i actually i actually love this i'm even more in now I wasn't I don't really know Gino I've never like walked and locked in on Gino Smith as a quarterback to be honest um I don't know I just feel like the vibes are good from over here I feel like Gino and Aaron Glenn like Gino's seems like him and Aaron Glenn might get along which would be excellent he's being really positive in the media which you need a positive leader whether you're the best guy out there or not the energy that you bring into the room is important.

24:01Victoria:So like him calling it like an honor. And I know people made fun of him for that, but like. Oh, I didn't, I didn't know that. I didn't know his, his, you know, presence has been, you know, positive. That's good. That's good. That's huge. That's kind of like my, my guess from the little that I've seen. Um, but turns 36. You never know. You never know. So yeah, I don't think that the jets are, are washed. I think the Jets are going to have. My guess is a five-win season. Okay. I hope it's more. Yeah, it's not great, but I think they'll finish ahead of Miami, probably. I was just going to ask, what do you think about Miami?

24:47I don't know much about Malik Willis other than him crushing it in one game last year. Yeah, like when he backed up, uh jordan love right yeah yeah yeah so like that's all i know and um i don't i can't remember who's gonna who he's gonna throw to in miami now no tyreek no waddle a-chan uh hand it off yep him and him and a-chan are just gonna run it yeah because the youngest team in the nfl

25:22Victoria:okay yeah their average age i think is like 25.3 or something um the youngest team in the nfl but what i like about the dolphins is that when you have a bunch of people who are excited and young you miss a lot of the we've always done it this way yeah so i think that just like a naivete might benefit the Dolphins a lot. And I think, like, they're all new. Like, Malik is older. Like, he has great presence. And so I feel like him being a leader will, like, pull in some of the chaos of youth. Okay. Yeah. But then they're also going to be, like, gritty, right? Like, Malik's never been QB1. He's seen Jordan Love on the Packers for a while.

26:14Victoria:But, like, he's never been QB1. So, like, everything is new and exciting. And like if you think about like startups, like first, second year in a startup is insane. Like Jeff Bezos started Amazon like as a library company, like in his like a dark room. And then now he's one of, if not the richest man on earth. So it's like, I don't know. Anything can happen. You calling the Miami Dolphins a startup is funny. It's true. They all make it. It's true. They're all super young. they have one guy leading the charge who we all trust. Like the Miami Dolphins are a startup. Yeah. That's true. I mean, are they your team, your second team now that you live there?

27:01Well,

27:02Victoria:I'm going to attend a lot of Dolphins games for sure. Yeah. And I'm like Malik Willis is my number one QB to watch this season, actually. Okay. I just, I just, I'm so curious about like what's going to happen next. Yeah. Because I like love the drama of it all. and not like the, like, I just like love the drama of like any team really can win and like come up any season. And I think the dynasty teams are like kind of hit or miss right now. Yeah. So yeah, I'm really excited to watch the Dolphins, but the Lions are my first team, which a lot of girls have been asking me on Instagram, who's my team?

27:40Victoria:It's the Lions. That's why I'm wearing my lion shirt and and then i still think the panthers are so good i think the panthers are definitely i think the panthers are going to the second round of playoffs this year okay i think that um so those are like my three fave teams and then i love the bills obviously the bills are like so easy to love i almost i pissed off a cowboys fan the other day because i said he's a oh he's a Cowboys fan and so he's miserable he was like America's team and I was like I'm pretty sure Buffalo is the new America's team well done well done because they are yes who would be who would be who would America be the most happy to see win a Super Bowl absolutely the most I think it's the Bills.

28:35Victoria:I think it's the Bills. And then I think it's the Lions. I think those are the two teams where, like, even if another team lost to those two teams, people would be happy to see them win. Similar to, like, people felt, like, about the Seahawks. Like, I don't think anybody was mad that the Seahawks won. Like, people say they didn't deserve it, but, like, whatever. They obviously won their way there. So who cares? I think they deserved it. They crushed all season. Yeah. I mean, I agree. But. Yeah. I'm not the one who wrote the art of. So Bills and Lions are like America's blue-collar teams. Yes, like built from the ground up, like Motor City.

29:16Victoria:What's the main industry in Buffalo? I don't know. Blue-collar? That's all I know. It's just in general. The main industry is Buffalo. Blue-collar. Yep. Basically. Basically. Okay, let's move on to our next story. Yeah. On that note. Okay. Patrick Mahomes' dad asked the court or the judge to make an exception to watch a Chiefs game because he is on probation for a DWI. Oh, boy. And I feel like this, as I was reading into it, I was more and more surprised everything that I was reading. So Patrick Mahomes Sr., which I didn't know Patrick Mahomes was named after Patrick Mahomes. So Patrick Mahomes Sr.

30:13Victoria:filed a motion asking the court for permission to travel out of Texas for his son's games this season. His requested destinations are Kansas City, Las Vegas, and Cincinnati. um i think you might have had a i think the last one maybe we didn't i think that'll be a little tough like judge being like kansas whatever cincinnati sure like throw in somewhere random like you can go to buffalo but like a sin city yeah go to vegas and get another one yeah He's on probation because he was arrested in February 2024 for his third DWI in Tyler, Texas, with a blood alcohol content of 0.23. It came eight days before the Chiefs beat the 49ers in the 2024 Super Bowl.

31:03Victoria:Wow. Eight days before the Super Bowl. Yeah. Okay. Can I just say something? Sure. Don't drive drunk. Yeah. Get an Uber. There's Ubers now. And his dad? Borrow money from Patrick Jr. if you need to. Just get a damn Uber. Why? Don't be stupid. It's, yeah, it's wild. What was his level? Sorry? 0.23. That's pretty. That's a lot. All right, go on. Sorry. Yeah. As someone who, like, nearly never drives even after a single glass of wine, I actually cannot imagine that. But, yeah. And a third DWI, like, dude, get it together. Like, it's crazy. Right. Like, get a driver. I don't know. Like, there's definitely an answer.

31:58Victoria:Literally get a driver. So, yeah. Yeah. And then like that and then missing the Super Bowl is. Oh, I didn't even realize it. It doesn't. What I read wasn't like explicit on if he missed the Super Bowl or not. But I would assume he did because he was arrested. And then he pleaded guilty and agreed to five years probation plus one year of intense supervision. And that was from the that was in 2024. So then in February of this year, 2026, he was arrested again for consuming alcohol. So he must have been whenever the court was the ruling and then the intense, intense supervision. So his ankle monitor recorded a high alcohol level on January 1st of 2026.

Read the full transcript

32:55Victoria:So he has a little bit of a problem, but yeah, that's interesting. It's like pretty sad because that's like January 1st. Like I always think that like things like this are really sad because obviously like you can't drive drunk. But then like, is there an underlying problem? Was it like at this point, if you're home and safe, like a mistake? I don't know, but you're also in your 50s. Yeah. So he just had a high alcohol reading on January 1st, but then urine tests on January 5th and 9th were both negative. So it seems like there was some provision that you can't have alcohol and be. Yeah. Yeah.

33:36There must be some law after you get a DUI or something or DWI. Right. Yeah.

33:42Victoria:And then he said, Patrick said and quoted, it became a story. And so I had to answer questions about it. And I think. I think just knowing that hurt me woke him up. And then his dad said for him to have to answer questions about me was probably the most embarrassing thing I've ever been through in my life. That's that's sad. It's that's really sad. Yeah. So now we're going to see what the judges courts say about can he travel. He has completed a 16 week outpatient treatment program, which I assume came after the very first. But I don't have exact details. And 160 hours of community service. and one of the craziest things about this whole story is he was a former MLB pitcher from 1992 to 2003 on the Red Sox, Mets, Rangers, Cubs, and Pirates.

34:38Victoria:That's right. Yes. Did you know that Patrick Mahomes Jr. could have also played baseball? I think he got drafted. Really? Yeah, I think he could have played baseball or football and he chose football. If I'm remembering that correctly. Why do you think he chose... Why do you think he chose football? I think he was better. I think he saw more potential. Wait, this is crazy. Yeah, the Detroit Tigers. 37th round of the 2014 MLB draft. Yeah. In high school, he was throwing up to 94 miles per hour and tossing a 16 strikeout no hitter as a senior. That's insane. No hitter is insane. So did he grab him out of high school?

35:32I'm not sure about that. Because I think he's around my age.

35:39Victoria:Yeah. Okay, he slid down the draft board because he made it clear that he intended to honor his commitment to play college football at Texas Tech. So, yeah, I guess he got drafted somewhere out of high school. Yeah. That is actually crazy. Yeah. He's very talented. I mean, you've seen his sidearm throws. I've seen his, like, little flicks. That's the baseball in him. For sure. Oh, my God. Well, to close that one out, hopefully— I think Patrick Mahomes Sr. Like, I think that people make mistakes in the world. And I think that if you make them right, you go to programs, you like get. We don't know if it was like an alcohol problem or not.

36:28Victoria:That's like not for us to decide. But like he did a program. He did his 160 hours of community service. Like when he had urine tests, they were clean. And like I think that sometimes the Internet is overly harsh on people who make things right. so I hope that like if he has made it right also like with his son and with his family and like with the people that like doing something like this hurt and thank God nobody else got hurt I do think that like the world needs grace so I hope that if his family and him are good and that he's operating safely as a human in the world that you know maybe they let him go to like a home game or something if he's on he's not in jail he's just like on probation so I think it'd be you know yeah I would I would like he's good with whatever happens really yeah I think going to Vegas is stretch going to Vegas is crazy you're not going to Vegas yeah but yeah I mean people make mistakes it seems like he's got the wake up call that he needed and you know and he'll move on from that and hopefully be better for you know his son and his grandkids and um yeah i think i think he'll be all right yeah story all right i'll switch it up a little bit um so there's i feel like this summer has been pretty good for women in sports um so but i just so i feel like so there's been women's professional baseball league started that's fucking cool is that brand new yeah dude i think like it's all women's baseball not softball baseball we need to go to more women's games like yeah that's like one of my goals this year and like even just like having like i just think we all need to go to like more women's sports because like obviously we talk about the nfl but like i don't know i'd rather have like if I'm gonna if I'm gonna pick up a new fantasy league I want it to be for women yeah I would love for flag football I think yes flag football for women is that gonna be an Olympic sport yeah it is okay so I'm excited for that I think that'll be really fun to watch um and um so yeah so professional baseball league started banana ball you know Savannah banana and that whole league.

39:08They signed four women to their teams, which is really cool. Let's go. Yeah. And then, you know, the WNBA continues to grow. They're selling out stadiums and whatnot. Yes. I love seeing the female refs in the NFL. Like, I don't know, just on the sideline is really fucking cool. um and then there's in the giants um don aponte i don't know if i'm saying that right um she was officially hired as the senior vice president of football operations and strategy so she's um helping with the salary cap strategy i guess um so that's really cool that happened this year this offseason um under you know working with John Harbaugh um so I think the Giants should be something special this year maybe yeah one of my favorite things is just like put a woman

40:17Victoria:in charge like if you're struggling put a woman in charge and like see what happens right like you're so huge on what's her name? Carly? Oh, Carly Erty Gordon. Yeah, I'm obsessed with her. Yeah. She's amazing. Yeah, and I love... The Colts came out of nowhere. Like, nobody was talking about the Colts until Carly showed up. Exactly. It's not a coincidence. Like, this is not like, oh, they just got... No. No. Not a coincidence. There's... It's not a coincidence at all. She's incredible. So I think she's setting the standard in my opinion. I think, yeah, I think she is setting a big standard. Also, the new Seahawks owners, I don't know when they take ownership, but it is a, I think it's like a billionaire multi-founder.

41:10Victoria:but his wife is also one of the owners and she is stepping into like a massive, let me look at that, Seahawks owners, like a massive Kolsla family. Nehru Kolsla, controlling owner and president of the Seahawks Charitable Foundation. That's not what it is. have you ever noticed that ai is so clearly created by men i mean what is it these days but because no like literally as since i have like my sub stack and stuff there's been like multiple times where i've been like i want to write an article on this and i'll like you know use a little bit of like clod to whatever and i'm like yeah this is not right and i'll like i like yell at it and i'm like it's so clear you were built by a man doesn't say oh you're right i sorry about that i'm so sorry this is the available information i'm like shut up oh my god okay breakdown of seahawks ownership chairs also well the seahawks also won their championship title under a woman owner because the original owner passed away and And the controller of his trust was a woman.

42:34Victoria:And then once she won, then now she has sold. That's good. Yes. And now this new family is coming in. And I'll get details for next week. I did an episode on it. That's awesome. But super, super cool. And you know what I saw on LinkedIn? I've been, like, really big on LinkedIn recently. Love that. Love that. I'm rivaled. It's the new Tinder. Just kidding. Sorry. Actually, a lot of my ex-boyfriends stalked me on LinkedIn. And it's super cool now because I feel like my LinkedIn is actually pretty legit now. You know, now that it says like business owner and like the pods on like its second full year.

43:14Victoria:I got featured in Yahoo the other day and I'm like, do you want to stop it? These are my accomplishments. Yeah. Personal trainer, like realtor, like very like amazing jobs. But I feel like this one just feels more like they'd be like, oh, shit, I really missed out. Right. You know, like tech sales, like, OK, boring.

43:44Sports host. What do you, what do you, what's your title? What would you put it? Founder and CEO of Her Game Days. Exactly.

43:55Victoria:No big deal. No big deal. I have LinkedIn Premium, so I can see when they stalk me. They haven't stalked me since I changed my title, but I'll be letting you know. Please. Okay, but I saw on LinkedIn that Unrivaled is valued at$630.

44:17Victoria:$150 million. Wow. Which has nearly doubled in the last year. Wow. Yeah, they raised over$100 million in Series C funding. Wow. Which is amazing. Can you remind the audience what Unrivaled is? Yeah, Unrivaled is the 3x3 women's basketball league. Like, honestly, this is a game that I think that we need to... Did you not know that? Were you, like, remind me? No, I didn't. Yeah. Me and the audience. If no one ever says remind the audience, they just need to... That's awesome. Yeah, it's three by three and one-on-one basketball in Miami. Oh. When does the season start? Incredible. I'm going to follow them on Instagram now.

45:15Victoria:Yeah. That's dope. Yeah, they've done amazing things. Their, like, championship last year was insane. January 8th, 2027 is the opener in Boston, I guess. But I think Unrivaled Headquarters is here in Miami, which is super cool. Cool. Okay, two more stories. Let's go through them. Okay. So this is not really a story, but I just think there's so many funny things that are coming out. The NFL plays in Australia for the second game of the season. I think everyone knows that. And it is the 49ers Rams. I do like that they're both from the same coast because it's like their trips are going to be relatively similar.

46:01Victoria:I was listening to one of the girls in our community. Her name's Louisa. She and her husband were doing a TikTok Live about like NFL predictions yesterday, like popped into it. And he was saying that like he didn't like that it's week one and that it's kind of it's like super hard on the teams to go to like Australia's so far away. And he was like, I don't mind. Like, I don't remember what he said, if he liked it or not. But just like the idea of going to Australia is one thing, but to do it week one and like totally jack up their clocks like that is another. And then he was like, I think that if they're gonna go to Australia, it should be middle of the season and they should automatically get a bye week after.

46:47Victoria:And I was like, that is so smart to me. Yeah. And that's what they do with the London games too, usually. It's like, usually they get a bye week after. Okay. Yeah, because like London - But that's a great point because Australia is like a long ass flight. And okay. So there is a coach on the Raheem Morris. He is the defensive coordinator of the 49ers. His birthday is on September 3rd. They left on September 2nd, and they land in Australia on September 4th. Oh. So his birthday evaporated in the sky. It's like leapier. And it was his 50th birthday. Oh, shit. That's bad. Yeah. So they lost today.

47:50That's really funny. Just like, would you? Nope. Not for you. You're still 49. Yeah.

48:00Victoria:Yeah. You're still 49. Or you're 51. Like, who knows? Who knows how old you are? once you he'll turn 50 on his birthday party like whenever his family throws him a birthday party or friends or whatever he'll um he'll okay his birthday that's funny yeah and then kyle shanahan has you guys have to watch this press conference it's so funny but um this is a direct quote we're a little confused with when i look at my clock and it says the time and then i try to see my family's time and it says the time but it says yesterday i don't get how that's possible so i feel like I'm in the future and he was talking about like are they okay over there oh because they're literally having like the season is here the first week of NFL season is insane just like obviously you're back like back in the building for like practice and stuff but like actually playing is so different than like freaking practicing so um yeah so he was also saying like, well, honestly, I'm just pretending like it's Wednesday because Wednesday is typically when we start our game plan because that is Wednesday, Thursday, whatever it is.

49:15Victoria:And he's like, but now Wednesday is Friday and we're playing on Thursday in the U.S., which is Saturday in Australia. And he's like, so I just really don't know. And I'm just pretending like today is Wednesday. That's a lot of math to do. It's like, how many days do they have to recover? Don't even. Okay, so I did look this up because I was like, I was like, I should have a bye week after. But so the Rams play the 49ers. They play on the 10th in Australia. Then they play Giants 11 days later on the 21st. So they'll fly back home from Australia. I guess that'll take a day or two days and then they'll have eight to nine before their next actual game.

50:07And it's crazy because that is their division too, like their division rivalries. And it's a big game for week one in Australia.

50:20Victoria:In Australia. That's wild. And I feel like it's going to be a good game. I do really like that it's from the same time zone and division, though, because I feel like it is like an equalizer in a way. Right, right. And then the 49ers play the Dolphins in Santa Rosa on the 20th. So they'll get home. They travel again. I think both teams should be able to play at home the week after if you're going to go to Australia. So even from California, like if they go to London, like California to London is like 9 to 12 hours, which is also like a long flight. Like East Coast teams, like even like Miami to Paris is like, I think, 10 hour flight time.

51:05Victoria:But like 10 hours is like fine. You know, it's like you get there, you go to bed, like whatever. But Australia is a whole other. So they've been there for a while. They've been ready to play for a week. Yeah. For a couple. Yeah. Down and down. I saw this. I saw this post about. The most miles traveled for each team. Oh, my God. I saw that, too, but I don't remember. Yeah, it was. All I remember is that the 49ers had 80 ,000 miles to travel. They're the top. Like, that's a lot. That's a lot of traveling. and I think it was the Panthers had like 18 ,000 or 8 ,000 I don't know they were the least amount yeah because I mean living in the middle of the country does have a benefit for travel like when I lived in Texas and Colorado like yeah it was way easier to get everywhere because you go you want to go like Dallas to New York three hours Dallas to San Diego three hours Dallas to um like even uh montana like three hours yeah this is carolina north carolina oh yeah so that is east coast but but it means that they're not like going to west coast a lot yeah and well most of the teams are on the east right most of the teams that they're gonna play are yeah that's true yeah so i thought that was interesting but um yeah that's a lot of travel for week one yeah but where's the one san francisco people though like are like i know these guys aren't like all from san francisco but like i think you definitely do like lean into wherever you live for the most part yeah but like people in san francisco like travel they're like oh it's like part of i feel like there are a ton of people who live there yeah like the type of people who live there are people who are kind of like out and about and like traveling and have jobs that they travel for and so it's just like part of life there yeah yeah maybe that's like a gross uh overgeneralization that i'm making but i have a lot of friends who live in speak speaking of in terms of the players i think traveling while trying to rest is also tough well that's that's also what i was thinking when they were not able to do math and figure out how much time

53:34like oh my god they're going from an x-ray field to australia like they have to be so

53:47Victoria:discombobulated it's a hard take but i don't think the x-ray field really does I don't really think. I think electromagnetic field around your field can definitely have an impact. I mean, they're always injured. Okay, but. CMC. Hold on. Go on. We're just interrupting each other for a whole three minutes. We're going. We're going. This is only week one. Okay. Or week zero. This is important info. No. An electrical station also sits directly next to another NFL team. Ooh, who? Panthers. Oh. And the Panthers, like, they never had an eye feed for being the most injured team. Well, are you sure? Yeah, that's true.

54:39But I don't know if they have as many star players as San Fran does. But does it matter?

54:44Victoria:Like, if the substation is the problem, then it shouldn't matter how good you are. That's really interesting. Yeah, because I saw this one post, and it was like, let's look up the most interesting thing, like, around each stadium. And I think Chicago was, like, the Chicago beat or something, like, ridiculous. But then it was like, Panther is also, and they, like, put funny music, and they're like, also a substation or whatever it's called. Wow. Yeah. Okay. We just put the myth to bed, I think. Yeah. I mean, I don't think it's great for anyone. I don't know that anybody should be sitting around next to that.

55:21Victoria:I saw a house for sale and it was next to a power plant. I was like, I don't think I want to live there. So I don't think it's good for you, but I don't know if it's the cause of all the injuries. Yeah. That's fair. Yeah. Okay. Do you want to do our last story? Yeah. But we've talked about arrests a lot today, I feel like. And that was going to be my next story was just the amount of offseason arrests this season and how ridiculous it's been. it's been really really crazy i feel like i saw it today um yeah i just i don't know i think i think it makes it really hard as a female fan to lean a thousand percent into the nfl because i don't feel like people are being held accountable like right right like patrick mahomes's dad is on a five-year probation for DWI, right?

56:29Victoria:Like, yes, you deserve a probation for that. But there's players who are doing that. A lot worse. A lot worse. And still making millions and millions and millions of dollars. And, like, a suspension for one game doesn't— I'm sure that it hurts because it's a bummer. but like your injury literally takes you out for longer than bad behavior will. And I think that that's like makes it tough. Yeah. Yeah. So I'm hoping for like that these guys like got it out of their system and we'll just see a clean, like everybody who was going to do something crazy did it and we'll see a clean season. I know it's like really a crazy ask of the NFL, but I don't know.

57:17Victoria:I do hope that the more women that get involved in sports and sports media pushes the NFL to have real consequences. Like, I think there has to be a three-strike rule. I don't know how we don't have a three-strike rule. Like, a third run-in with the law, and you cannot play in the NFL anymore. Like, I just, like, and that's a lenient rule. Like, three arrests and you get out. That's not. That's a lot. That's a lot of strikes. We're going to take out a decent number of players, you know? Yep. Like, if you have, like, the cops called on you twice for domestic abuse like you should be out you should be out you think so yeah so or like not starting yeah i do think that like the more women though that get in the more that we will um see punishments kind of coming coming down and so yeah um i will leave it on a on a like happy okay good please so this is so cute i had this like it um it was on my on my like list but didn't make the final cut for my three but the colts cornerback kenny moore spends every tuesday as an eighth grade teacher oh that's so cute if we needed more reasons to love the colts oh my god that's adorable it's a two-hour life skills class covering financial literacy healthy relationships and mental health at cardinal cardinal rittner in indianapolis how precious and he became the first quotes player ever nominated three times for walter manning walter payton man of the year of course as he should be that's adorable i'm obsessed with him Amazing.

59:10So that's a good, that was a good way to end the stories. Yeah, sorry for.

59:18Victoria:Brutal because you can't talk about the NFL without, wait, actually on this note before we go. So if a league, because we had our fantasy football draft, if a league didn't have enough, if there was like a girl, a lot of girls like dropped out. We had maybe like 10 girls drop out like very last minute. And so if a girl dropped out, I stepped in into that seat. And I obviously can't draft. I think I'm on like 10 teams now. But like you can't auto, you can't draft in 10 things. And we were on Instagram Live, whatever. So I auto-drafted. But what I realized, and we were talking about this after we went live, of like my teams had all of the bad guys on it.

1:00:03Victoria:Because the girls are in teams. They're available, so they went on my own. Please tell me you have Voldemort on your team. I'm one of them. I would die. I don't think so because he's too far down. He's too far down. That's true. I'll have to check, though. But I do have Josh Jacobs a lot. I have multiple Ross. I was going to say, Josh Jacobs is excellent. I think I'm just going to have to put him on the trade block. But I really didn't anticipate that because, like, I didn't really think about it last year. but this year I feel like because there were so many arrests of like high profile top players yep they like ended up on my team and I'm like this is really bad for my brand that's kind of funny you gotta name your team uh bad boys for life I like that we call them bad boys though like I think that like I do think that like grace matters in the world and I think that like some mistakes can be forgiven and some cannot be forgiven but i think that like not everyone who makes a mistake is a horrible person yeah and like deserves to like you know but like um i mean there are some things that are there's some things that like you can't come back from right like that mistake is like detrimental and like will change the course your life but then there's also mistakes that are like mistakes yeah um agreed so yeah and i think the grace grace matters we just need accountability so grace matters and accountability matters too yes agreed okay well we'll leave it at that first episode you killed it we did it okay make sure you follow us on socials at her game days jojo's new instagram her game days underscore jojo jojo um on sub stack we have ins and outs that come out on wednesdays uh that is her game days dot sub stack.com her game days on tiktok her game days on instagram her game days on threads.

1:02:13Victoria:I should just say Her Game News on all social media because that's true. And we'll be back next week to talk about the top six things that happened in week one of the NFL. If you drafted with us, so happy to have you. We had over 41 ,000 draft picks this week, which is so special. Yes. Also, I'm so proud of you for growing this community. like you more than doubled the leagues from last year and like the girls need this and just i'm really grateful for you know just being here and being a part of this this is really cool oh my god i appreciate you i'm happy you're here too okay girls we'll see you next week love you bye i'll be bye

1:03:11You gotta own it on the style and your grace You better own it, own it All they wanna do is copy and paste But you they can't replace So own it, own it, own it, own it

Pick Six: Week 1, and Meet JoJo

Episode description

It is the first day of the 2026 NFL season and the Pick Six has a new co-host. Victoria is joined by JoJo Cash, a Bills fan who has been playing fantasy since 2012 and now works as a programmer in the sports prediction market industry. They get into Josh Allen becoming a studio CEO the week before kickoff, how Cleveland treated Shedeur Sanders, whether the Jets need a creative director more than a quarterback, why the Dolphins are basically a startup, Patrick Mahomes Sr. asking a judge for a travel pass, a very good summer for women in sports, and the off season arrest problem nobody in the league seems to want to fix. Plus the Colts cornerback who teaches eighth grade every Tuesday, and the reason Victoria's auto drafted rosters are full of guys she would never pick.
