In short

Recap and analysis of early-season NFL storylines, centered on Josh Allen’s “flu game” performance in Buffalo’s new stadium, Zach Ertz returning to the Eagles, a major injury roundup (including multiple QB injuries), debate over which teams are “no longer the worst,” and a controversial broadcast stat comparing Baker Mayfield to Deshaun Watson.

Guest backgrounds

Two hosts are featured (JoJo is mentioned as traveling). They discuss fandom, fantasy impacts, and personal game-day experiences; one host is a Lions fan and the other is a Bills fan. No external guests are named in the transcript.

Key claims

Allen’s 45-point output included 5 total TDs despite illness; the new Bills stadium (60,108 capacity) feels bigger and has tech like card-scanning at concessions. Ertz is viewed as a late-career “dog” signing due to Dallas Goedert’s MCL injury. Tush Push is “unfair” only until teams learn to stop it. Worst teams are improving (Titans, Jets, Raiders), while Colts’ losing streak continues. The NFL should keep publicly highlighting off-field allegations.

Notable examples

Allen: 248 passing yards, 3 pass TDs, 2 rush TDs, 69 rush yards. Ertz: 50 receptions/72 targets (13 weeks played in 2025). Injury examples: Packers WR carted off after Demario Davis shoulder hit; Jaden Daniels dislocated left elbow; Caleb Williams hamstring; Malik Nabers injury mentioned. Worst-teams examples: Colts’ nine-game losing streak; Sauce Gardner stat memes. Broadcast example: Browns vs Buccaneers graphic showing 27 allegations for Deshaun Watson vs 0 for Baker Mayfield.

0:15Hey, girl. Welcome back to the Her Game Days podcast and your weekly pick six where we go over our top six favorite stories around the NFL and more this week. JoJo's in Barcelona, so that's cool. I wish I had some wine with me right now, but I don't yet. That'll come later. That would have elevated the experience for sure. Next time. Where? When did you fly in? You flew in just now. Like, you just got there. Yeah, today. Today. Like, six hours ago, maybe? Well, thanks for doing the pod. Did you watch... Oh, you took a red eye. So you finished Sunday night football and then you got on the plane Monday night.

1:04Yeah, I got on Monday night. So I missed the Monday night game, but I heard all about it. So it was just I was just reading stats because I bought Internet, but I couldn't stream it. But it was just like dark goes down. Oh, neighbors goes down like, oh. so then the Rams just all of a sudden are great and Devante blew up yeah yeah Devante crushed it I mean so yeah I turned it off after like mid second quarter because there's a point in every NFL season that I've watched where like the amount of injuries like actually start to like really get to me and makes me feel like really intense and really sad and so like usually it happens like week six or seven like we see a couple major injuries and then I like get this feeling but usually it's like mid-season and now it's week two and after like watching Jackson Dart's injury which he was like in the air and a defender came and like his leg like went left and like it was yeah I'm watching that and then watching Malik neighbors be in so much pain on the sideline like leaned over the coaches there like you can just tell it's bad I just got that like feeling in my stomach that I was like I don't I don't want to watch this and I'm really sick right now and the game on Sunday night kept me up because I was so fired up that I couldn't fall asleep right after and so I was like I cannot do this like I had to turn it off and I was like I'll just look at the updates because like it's too much it's probably just just as good I mean I mean, Giants couldn't put up much of a fight after those two went down.

2:54Yeah, like Jameis Winston, from what the girls were saying in the chat, Jameis Winston just got eaten alive, and it was just bad. But I think if you lose, like the Giants went through this last year losing Jackson and Scadaboo, and now that they've lost, like, they lost two major players who were a huge part of their game, and their strategy like the players probably just had like little like flashbacks and like right right PTSD from um from last year yeah because all three of them were out last year at one point it was Malik, Scadaboo, and Dart and now two of those three right now are not great but hopefully it's not too long um but we'll see yeah yeah I just like got that I was like I can't I can't watch this anymore and then I like checked this morning when I woke up and was like oh okay it's fine like it was 3 to 28 like I really didn't miss anything but I think I have to I think usually I'm not that hasty with football like usually I don't make projections about the whole season off of one game.

4:09And last week I did that with the Rams. And I think I was wrong. Like, I mean, like, granted, they were going up against this terrible defense, but the Rams looked like a team last night. And last week they looked like a mess. And I think I over-dramatized my feelings last week. And now I'm like, we'll see what happens next. Now I'm open-minded to the Rams. Like, I don't know if I still see them going to the Super Bowl or not. Right. But they are like based on last night, they could be playoff contenders. But are they going to be one of those really inconsistent teams? Like, I don't know. Do you think it was just the amount of sleep they didn't get for the Australia game?

4:55That made them look so bad that first week. Maybe. And but I also think that like they their defense, the plan that they created with Miles and Aaron Donald didn't exist. And so then their defense was like morphing into being something new, which one of the teams that I think is the best at this is the 49ers. Like the 49ers created a system where they can literally plug and play any players that come in and their system still works. And I don't think most teams do that. And so I think that they created a defense around Miles Garrett and Aaron Donald, at the Rams did and now they can't just put other people into those spots so Aaron Donald wasn't there yet.

5:42Miles Garrett was out and they were on lack of sleep and working mentally around a new system against a 49ers team that the 49ers picked up where they were last year. They looked fresh. Yeah, they looked like a week 14 team in week two and a lot of other teams are looking very weak too. Yeah. So I don't know. Maybe I was hasty last week and I'm open-minded now and I'm not going to make any more serious projections like that in week two. It's like really, it's off brand for me, first of all. And second of all, I hate being wrong. Hey, it's okay to be wrong sometimes. Yeah. Yeah. Oh my God. Okay.

6:25Speaking you have wine though one of the girls um in our community um is she does wine and like wine pairings for football every week i'm literally obsessed with her um oh my gosh okay her name is gabby was it for the bills games yeah so she's a bills fan but she lives in colorado though um nice yeah and she's so cute and she uh yeah has like a little yeah bills versus texans queso blanco and riesling so she like makes pairings for the game for food and i'm just like actually obsessed with it yeah bills versus lion she did destroy detroit style pizza and pairing she calls it sip and snack and i love that i'm like i love that i know i feel like okay you know how you have people on instagram who like don't necessarily have huge followings but like they're your favorite influencer because i feel like i find these people all the time and i'm like oh my god this person must have like a million followers and they have like i don't know 1 000 3 000 like like nobody's found them yet but i'm still like you're my favorite influencer she's like my favorite influencer right now because it's like so hgd coded where i'm like this is like honestly i should ask her if she wants to do an event in colorado for one of the for one of the games because she's a bills fan but she's like also just like a football fan yeah like we all are um yeah i need to dm her but her instagram is um gabs gay so g-a-b-s-k-a-y-y and everyone should follow her she's like literally so cute um but speaking of wine speaking of what oh man yeah okay should we get in um to our stories for the week yes okay sorry go ahead no you go ahead okay all right so let's start with uh josh's flu game which we were there for and we were there it's kind of insane that like Like, when you're at the game, you don't get all this background information.

8:47Like, I think there was a fumble, and I don't remember any fumbles. Like, it's insane. Like, I feel like we might have missed a lot, but we also had the best time. No, it's so true. like if you're at the game it's like the game experience is for the experience and the at home experience is for like the details but I I was watching um I watched that game back the other day like in between Sunday night when it was like after the 425 games before the 820 game and I was watching it and um Gia came in and was like what are you watching and he's like is this on right now and I was like no I'm watching the Bills Lions because that had to have been one of the highest fantasy scoring games like ever because Josh Allen had 45 points Jared Goff had close to 40 Amon Ross St.

9:49Brown had in the 30s I think like 35 or something yeah yeah and which is crazy because at the game it literally didn't feel like the lions did anything like if you would take just the audio from that game the lions would have not gotten one first down i feel like it was two different games no it literally was like it's like the one we were at and then the one that was on tv like not the same game at all because i think like there was there was like a very small amount of Lions fans there um they were there but like they were there they were there but like but they're outnumbered for sure we were not loud either like we we made absolutely no impact on that stadium which like we should we knew right like going in I knew that like it wasn't going to be like a huge turnout but I did expect it to be a little bit better than that because the Lions fans travel like pretty well.

10:49Yeah, but I'm sure it's because of the price of the tickets because it was the opening day. I think any other game, it probably would have been a lot more filled, but we tried to probably flood it with Bills fans and a lot of Bills fans just wanted to be there. Yeah. Yeah. it's i'm gonna do something with that that's gonna be a collector's item for sure yeah i'm like um i'm building a little gallery wall in my house but i don't want it to be like i want it to be like a collection of like things from our life so i have like polaroids of like me and my sister and i have like polaroids with like us and um like some of my best friends and like i'm gonna frame my key and put it up on that wall in like a cool frame um which i'm really excited about in my head it's like such a cool wall but i feel like every gallery wall like in average houses are like they're never as good as anyone wants them to be so we'll see we'll see i'll probably never put it on the internet because i'm like oh my god this is gonna look so great and then like it looks but mine's getting framed yeah there's like a bills fan from utah and she dm me and she's like hey girl if you need like anywhere else to uh if you don't want that key since you're a lions fan and i was like what's up girl what's your address

12:20so we're gonna we're gonna give her a little key to the stadium which will be cute that's okay anyway okay sorry so yeah let's go back to Josh he was sick also in this in this no idea no idea yeah the sniffles um so he had 248 passing yards three passing touchdowns two rushing touchdowns so that's five total touchdowns 69 rushing yards um he had four different scores so everybody eats on the bills which is awesome um and he had okay so this is a fun stat i thought he had more touch total touchdowns than the bears the falcons stealers texans vikings cardinals dolphins chargers combined combined yeah are you kidding me no that's what i found bro holy shit that's crazy that's actually crazy insane it was such a low scoring weekend such a low scoring weekend okay should we um i want to know your impressions of the stadium after after being there and like after reflecting it was electric like absolutely insane um it felt like a real stadium yeah compared to the last one um like i don't know how to explain it was just it's it felt really professional and um i feel like there's gonna be a lot of memories built there and i don't know the last one it just there was a lot of history there but it's this one so much feels bigger it's actually still the smallest stadium um out of all the stadiums which is insane but it says uh this is the smallest one 60 ,108 60 ,108 is the capacity.

14:33So it's the smallest in the NFL, which is insane, but it just felt huge. The last one didn't feel as big, but it's going to be, I don't know, it's going to be a great year, I think. I remember being really confused about how to get in and out of the concessions stands. Yeah. I they have some kinks to work out I think yeah I think so too as a new business yeah also going and scanning so you scan your card to go in the beverage stand and then they just know what you're grabbing and and then you leave that was really cool I don't know if that's common in other stadiums they definitely didn't have it at the last one yeah they have it at some airports okay Yeah.

15:26Okay. So that's becoming more common. I don't know how it works. It's kind of freaky. It's like the same thing like at Zara. Like you put your item in the basket and it knows what item you're buying. So cool. It's so cool. I love technology. So freaky. So freaky. Okay. Last note before we should move on from the Villa Stadium because people are probably like bored. Okay. First of all, chicken tenders. excellent excellent i had the chicken parm sandwich amazing fantastic okay because also i i'm glad that i can say this now the bills food at the last stadium was the worst stadium food i have ever had in my entire life hands down never had a worse chicken tendy in my life than the last bill stadium truly can't say enough bad stuff about it i i hated them so much last year it was so bad.

16:26So bad. The only saving grace from that last year was that the guy, they didn't come with fries. And I like was chatting with the guys in the back, like making the food. I was like calling through the like, you know how they put the little pizza things? And I was like, yeah, last year. And I was like, you guys have any fries? And he's like, no, no, no, we don't have fries right now. And I was like, but you have like cheesy fries or whatever, like loaded fries. And he's like, hold on. He like went back and got me fries, which was like really redeeming. Because everyone in Buffalo, like all of the people who are working at the Bills are just like so nice.

17:00But what you need to know about the chicken tendies at the Bills Stadium is they do not come with fries. So you have to get your fries separate, which is insane because when you're a couple drinks in, you're not thinking, I'm not going to get fries. And then you get to your seat and the box is heavy. Like they give you like, I don't know, I want to say it was like five tendies in the box. and then I open it up and there's no fries and I was like thank god this is delicious so you need to know um I'm not gonna call you out but I'm gonna call you out um you know that we had chicken and fries for lunch too we did you know what it's my game day snack chicken me and my sister me and my sister will go to like sporting events and we'll like look at each other be like want to split some chicken tendies and we'll get like chicken tendies and like a pretzel dude so random but dallas stars have pretzels that are so good that they sell out like all the time and then they have to like break out a second batch at a specific time to like get more of them because they're so good i wouldn't put pretzels with dallas i know and like who's like The pretzels are so good.

18:17But like, so good. Any other notes from that game? Like, that game was crazy, and the Lions actually played like a pretty good game, even though you wouldn't have known if you just went to Buffalo and didn't have a TV with recaps. They had a good comeback, but it wasn't enough. Wasn't enough? No, it wasn't enough. Hopefully next week. We're playing the Jets next week at home. Okay. Yeah. Hopefully you'll be all right. Yeah, I'll try playing the Jets right now, but I want the Lions to win. Of course. No, I was just going to say that Josh had the first touchdown in the new stadium, which is pretty awesome.

18:55And I think we're all happy about that. So I think we're all happy about that. All right. Moving on. Story number two, Zach Ertz is returning to the Eagles. That's huge. Yeah, which is, I didn't realize that he was a free agent because he's not a free agent, like, in my head. He's somebody who's going to get, like, snapped up. He would think so. Full free agent. And now he's going back and Jason Kelsey found out about it on a live broadcast. And he was pretty happy. So they have a lot of history together. Because, so he was at the, he was at the Eagles, then he was at the Commander's. Then he was a free agent.

19:38Yeah. And then he was, and now he's back on the Eagles. All right, we're going to PFF. 6 '5", 250. Damn. Now we'll do our next most important thing, the Zodiac. He's a Scorpio, born November 10th, 1990. So he's 35. I didn't realize he was 35. Okay. He started playing in 2013. 13. PFF is just like drinking from a fire hose with stats. I need to build a dashboard that's only the stats that I care about. Yeah. Okay. So it looks like he didn't play week 14, 15, 16, and 17 of 2025 regular season. He was not used very much at all at the commanders. is 50 receptions total, 72 targets, 69.4 % catch percentage, one fumble.

20:37So, I mean, he got terrible for only playing 13 weeks. Right. So I'm assuming maybe it's age, like why he didn't get picked up. Yeah, maybe his age or he just didn't have, you know, the mojo or the, you know, chemistry with the commanders i don't know yeah well the commanders really also struggled last year they didn't have a great season so it could just be like a product of that yeah so he was eagles till 2020 and then eagles and arizona 2021 then cardinals 22 23 24 25 commanders yeah um and the reason he's being reunited is because goder is out a couple of weeks with an mcl sprain so i mean i think it's cool like his highest number of receptions was 2018 so that was still like a while ago but he's been playing since at 116 yards and then he's had a lot lower kind of usage in general he could probably put in some work here and i feel it's like the end of the career like my vibe about him like I don't really know that much about him to be honest but like my vibe about him is that like he's kind of a dog like I feel like he's gonna turn it the frick up I feel like the Eagles at their best are like they just go to work they just like do the job and that's it and I feel like that's kind of how they're moving right now like we're not really talking about them that much but they almost did lose this weekend right yeah they sure did so maybe I don't know really but they won because also like the Chiefs and the Eagles their score in the third quarter doesn't matter.

22:22The only score that matters for both the Chiefs and the Eagles is the fourth quarter score. True. Yeah, I think that's a good way to put it. Because they turn it on when they need to turn it on. And, like, Devontae Smith is a dog as well. And Jalen Hurts in the tush push. I don't know. I haven't seen the tush push much, you know, the last two weeks. But that Tush Push was one to be reckoned with the last couple of years. I think they need to wrap that up again. Honestly, the announcer on, I don't know. I don't know what I was watching. Honestly, I was so sick. I was half awake, half asleep during every game.

23:06So I had to do a lot of like watching recaps. In my half awake, half asleep, sick slumber, I heard an announcer say, the Tush Push is just so unfair. And for whatever reason, in that moment, it made me so annoyed because I was like, dude, life isn't fair. Like, this is a dog-eat-dog world. And, like, football isn't fair. If football was fair, Jackson Dart wouldn't have got his knee nearly knocked off of his body yesterday. Like, if football was fair, then the Chiefs wouldn't have won three in a row and had a bad season and now kind of come back. Like, if the NFL was fair, we wouldn't have, like, so many teams who have never even made it to a Super Bowl.

23:43But it's just like, then stop it. Like, how is it that fair? How can you not come up with something creative? Right, exactly. Why don't you get in tush push formation and tush push back? Right, exactly. Like, actually, why is nobody doing that? Because if you think about it, like, what's the way to stop the tush push? To make a tush push. And then it's just tug of war. Now we're just backwards, inverted tug of war. but like truly pick one guy have him hug the tush pusher

24:17the tush the tush yeah well because i guess hug the tush i need to look at like the pusher is the guy behind the tush yeah how does the tush push actually work so the the guy holding the ball is the tush and then the guy behind him is push him and then but then there's also the center in front of the tush it could yeah and the center is clearing the way yeah right and so you need to maybe like there's plenty of teams that have stopped it this season yeah so they're getting better but i'm just saying like why aren't why aren't we tush pushing back you know like you just you just get a linebacker in there and you just say you know what today is your booty's day your booty's day is great two two linebackers

25:15yeah i i feel like um the chiefs were stopped like ken walker was stopped this weekend from the tush push yeah yeah so it's possible but yeah they were like this is unfair and i was like i'm so you're out to something i was like i'm going back to bed like i can't with this like the world isn't fair there's like plenty of opportunity and there's plenty of money and there's plenty of plays right and like this not being fair just don't want to hear it and i know that's a hot take but i don't care like all that i i'm with you i i don't think it's not not fair i i think teams just have to figure a way to stop it it's not and it's not like they can't steal it And I feel like people get mad, though, because their team can't effectively do the tish push.

26:02And that's what we do. Right. So that's unfair. But it's like, just get better. Right. Exactly. Yeah. But stop your complaining. I'm bored. Okay. Well, speaking of the injuries that we were talking about just a second ago, third story is just an injury report. So let's go through it. As I mentioned, I had to turn off the TV because I was upset by the injuries. Scariest injury of the weekend was Green Bay's wide receiver carted off on a backboard in the first quarter at MetLife after Demario Davis's shoulder caught his head. He appeared to lose consciousness, which is, you know, probably a neck and back injury.

26:42He was hospitalized overnight with movement in all extremities. He's back in Green Bay and doing much better. He says, appreciate all of the prayers and support. no timeline won't yet and they said it is a back injury now so initially it was a head or neck injury but now they're saying it's a back injury so that's better yeah it's interesting though because like your back is also your spine right but i don't think i don't think it's as serious as as and like yeah yeah like a disc split in your neck or whatever but i always like it makes me question like when you have an injury like that and i think so many people have come after to uh because he chooses to continue to play um and like this is like a natural part of the game sadly and just like the level of aggression but like this one like he ran into someone's shoulder or like it's like freak accidents can happen and this is like feels like one of those to me it's just like really sad makes me question like how do you comfortably return after something like that happens you know it's it's scary and I think you said it last week when um neighbors Malik neighbors was you know a little um nervous I think and then coach just tackled him just to loosen him up a little bit.

28:18But I think that's the reality of it. It's scary. We think of them just as players collecting points for us. But they're actual people. Did you see the Harbaugh commercial? For what? He had like a Dickies commercial. No. Oh my gosh. Okay. Let me see if I can play it for you. Honestly, I don't know the Harbaugh's. I can't tell them apart.

28:55There's one. One is more attractive than the other. Attractive. I know. Does that mean? Okay, cut that. I'm not cutting that. Sorry. There's always a, I feel like most of the time there's a prettier sibling like prettier sibling hotter sibling like one is hotter than the other sometimes it oscillates throughout your life like one's hotter one's smarter like you know sometimes you go back and forth it's the best when you both feel super hot at the same time do you have a sister yeah yep i have a little sister and a little brother okay are you close with your sister yeah we are now yeah no my sister and i are the same but don't you feel like it's the best when you both like are just like in like a pretty sweet spot where you're just like both like living life like you both feel pretty good you feel pretty hot like there's nothing better than like feeling hot and like settled in yourself at the same time as your sister right like it's confidence it's the perfect combo and it's the most fun to like hang out and be out and like do all the things because you're just like both like good you know i love my competition with each other anymore yes yeah And yeah, you're just like both like down for it.

30:10Anyway, Docker's name's Jim Harbaugh, its newest brand ambassador. And the commercial is literally perfect. That's the Chargers Harbaugh. Yeah, it's awesome. I love that commercial. Let's do more injuries. Okay, quarterbacks. Oh, my God. A tragic weekend for quarterbacks. I know so many girls fantasy teams are suffering. Jaden Daniels, left elbow. Did you see that one? that was nasty oh i saw i've seen a elbow get dislocated in real life horrible disgusting i couldn't watch it guillermo always tries to make me watch these crazy things and he's like do you want to see the injury and i'm like no no no i've seen a dislocated elbow oh my god actually i can't no don't even because i was a gymnast and so you see some stuff oh yeah and oh my god okay I'm just surprised how long they put it on the screen, too.

31:08Well, same with Jackson Dart. Usually they just stop. Yeah, but like Jackson Dart, they played it like five or six times, and I think that's probably why I had to turn it off because I was like, I can't move forward from this because they keep playing it. And Tom Brady, he was announcing the game, and he goes, oh, shit. He saw James Daniels. it was like that was what we were all thinking yeah yeah i love it i love it when announcers like just get really real for a sec like they're they like lose their professionalism um because they're like it's just like so in the moment like you almost can't control it um so jaden daniel's dislocated left elbow on the last play of the first half his guard stepped on his foot there's no fracture but they're imaging for ligament damage actually you know what i just remembered maybe the elbow is so gnarly to me because i've popped my elbow out and in before yeah that's uh how long did it take to get back to normal disgusting i wish i had a photo because my elbow was literally the size of my head but it took a really it was a long it was a long recovery I was in high school and mine popped right back in right away so I felt it like go out and pop back in and I tore my use sorry but I tore my UCL which is your ulnar collateral ligament which is the same as your ACL and your knee but in your elbow um and basically I went in to like see if I needed surgery and they were like basically you can like you're kind like hanging on by a thread and um and they were like you can get surgery or you can rehab it and they were like you might need surgery when you're like 80 and I was like great I'll take 80 over 16 so or 18 or however old I was but the recovery was brutal and like the physical therapy for your elbow is like so boring like all I did for months was like stick my hand in rice and like twisted around and it was horrible yeah because like rice if you like it's like the perfect amount of um pressure tension yeah for you to like move it around because it's gentle because like your elbows obviously kind of gentle um and it like strengthens the really tiny like motor movement centers in your elbow but yeah it was horrible like a horrible recovery so yeah that's probably why that one's like freaking me out so much i literally forgot that about myself

33:54yeah traumatized um dan quinn expects him back this season i want dan quinn to win like i just want him to win at life i like him i like his vibe like dan quinn would never do it a dad like he is a dad yeah he's just yeah Caleb Williams non-contact right hamstring injury scrambling on first and goal carted off no strain no tear on the MRI week to week unlikely to practice but not ruled out for Monday I think some like hopefully this is one of those injuries that like really stings in the moment and then you're like okay yeah there's been a lot of memes about i think him overreacting but as i think maybe it just hurt as much as a you know an acl tear or something could have yeah because at the moment right um being the worst and you know there's i don't know i think it's just stupid to make memes about it yeah like don't come after caleb williams like pick someone else like there's plenty of people to be annoying about in the nfl it's not one of them went off in week one yeah 50 fucking points sorry 50 points and um and then you know he thought he might have tore something and was out for the season so let's give him a break let's give him a break even though the bears did only score three points that was really bad the whole game was three to six right yeah that's crazy yeah which like go off defense don't let him do anything on both teams yeah um we got dart which i think we talked about yeah that's just so sad like i don't think we need to harp on this but i just feel sad about it like i really want he i feel like he's having a pretty good start as well i feel bad for harbaugh too i feel like they both had something to prove like yeah i think so too yeah and it's just like brutal yeah like i'm coming off that loss and in australia and then giants won but they wanted to keep winning and they got bash bros so yeah yeah uh dallas goddard sprained his mcl out multiple weeks but prompted the zach are signing.

36:21Say Flowers, hamstring ruled out, which is a bummer for my fantasy team. Aiko Collins, hamstring ruled out. And then, Puka did not play. Yep. The Madi, Madi Buke, defensive tackle at Baltimore, neck injury, Teddy Buchanan, Baltimore linebacker, knee, TJ Tampa, Baltimore cornerback, knee. So Baltimore's got cooked Then two Houston players, Jadavon Clowney, OLB, and Ed Ingram guard with a groin. And then Kevin Banks Jr. in New Orleans out with an ankle. Derwin James, Chargers with a pinky. Pinky is crazy. Pinky is crazy. But you know what? We love a king who takes care of himself. And he's like, you know what?

37:10My pinky really hurts and I don't want to play right now. We got neck, knee, and pinky. All in the same report. Story number four, are the worst teams no longer the worst? Where to start? Where to begin? Where to begin? I feel like, um, enter, enter like a Bridgerton line here. Like, what does she say? How does she, dear fellow readers or something like that? I don't watch Bridgerton. You don't? No. You have to watch it. era it's kind of oh dearest gentle reader that's what i say dearest gentle reader um you gotta watch it it's one it's become one of my like comfort shows okay try to give it a shot dearest gentle readers the worst teams are really making a come come up which i love so maybe we'll just i'll do the stats of like where the teams are right now and then you can give me your opinion So Titans are 0-2, but they took it down to the wire with the Eagles in a 24-20 loss after losing 23-10 to the Jets.

38:23Speaking of the Jets, 1-1 opened with a dominant win over Tennessee, but then they went to Green Bay and they were a cornflip essentially away from 2-0. So lost barely to Green Bay. Raiders are 2-0. this is the most surprising to me um kirk cousins is their quarterback saints are one and one and the browns are one and one and their coach made a really weird comment at the end um and then uh on the saints note tyler show has 662 passing yards and four touchdowns in two weeks insane I mean, yeah, I didn't have that on my bingo card by any means. All of that to say the Colts are in the longest losing streak in NFL history with nine losses.

39:14Tell me what you think about all of this. The sauce ain't saucin'. I was seeing memes everywhere about how Sauce Gardner has not won a game since December 2024. he was with the Jets they went 1-7 and they traded him to the Colts November 4th, 2025 and then the only win the Colts have since then was the one in Germany and he hasn't so he hasn't won a game on US soil since December 2024 for. That's insane. That's a stat. That's a stat we need. That's a stat we need. I don't need. What stat did I hear this weekend that I was like, whatever. Something about like, in 16 games, this guy has the most whatever.

40:18Anyway. You know when they do that? They're like, in the last 16 games, Travis Kelsey has 44 % more catches than these random running backs in 1962. Like, no one cares. What intern is pulling this and why are they teaching him this? It's definitely Claude pulling that, pulling that fact. Definitely Claude pulling that fact. But I was thinking about this over the weekend and I was thinking about, like, morale on losing teams and I think that the morale can get really bad, but individually, every player is, like, able to be traded and so they're still incentivized to, like, play their best game even if their team sucks because like look at zach ertz like he was on the eagles at it was like killing it got traded and then like team team team but if he hadn't kept like trying he probably wouldn't have gotten picked back up um because i was like how do you even like i hate to lose like how do you even keep going right if your team just loses but i guess it's like the glimmers It's like the really good tackles that you make.

41:29It's like the pass that actually does convert. I think they held their, like the Colts held their own against the Chiefs too. I would say the, I mean the Colts, I would say was like a very even matchup. Like I don't think that the Chiefs outplayed the Colts at all. It looked like an even matchup to me. Like a really, just a really, really good game that like ended in a box, you know. It was a coin flip. Yeah, I did think, though, that I did want to see them go for it on fourth down instead of kicking it. Yeah, because I'm like, if you kick it, then you give the Chiefs three minutes. But they had pretty high conversion the whole game.

42:17Like, they were playing well the whole game. And so I feel like. Yeah, it's very damn simple of me to be like, just go for it. They stopped Kenneth Walker from getting a touchdown at all. You see, it was like three straight runs that they did at the end of the half, at the first half, and it was huge. Yeah, that's true. He's a force. The Seahawks letting him go was literally the biggest mistake in the world. Like, that's the missing piece that the Chiefs needed, I think, which is sucks as a Bills fan but I think maybe you're right is would have been better to go for on the fourth down in overtime they were struggling in the overtime that the way it almost ended I was about to be lit up I was screaming and I was ready to throw things if that's how it was end with the um the catch and then he fumbles it but it was actually down uh it was it was a mess but it didn't end that way thank god it just but it still ended with just a easily yeah yeah if you didn't watch it um I don't remember who was the player but there was like a mass it was like a 30-yard pass or something huge.

43:41The receiver catches it, goes down onto his knee, tries to get back up, and then a Chiefs player punches it out. And so they were trying to see what did he have control, like that whole question. And the Chiefs would have won in that moment because it was overtime. And if the Chiefs took possession, they would have just won, which that was not the case they ruled that it was a catch and um that he was down by contact based on like a finger brush of the chief's defender um yeah and it would just been like the most depressing end because it was such a good catch like so incredible um so it would have just been like so such a bummer to like be like that's it game we're out um it was probably really satisfying to the chiefs to have that call essentially against them and then win the whole game.

44:38Okay, let's talk about some of the other teams. I don't know that I'm really like in on the Titans yet. Like the Titans are playing better than we expected them to. Like they almost beat the Eagles, but I kind of feel like that's in any given Sunday situation. I'm not really in on the Titans hype yet, but I don't really watch the Titans very often. So I think that I need to like tune in to like make a fully formed opinion on them. But them almost beating the Jets, I mean, almost beating the Eagles. Like, does that say does that say that the Jets are better than the Eagles? Or does that say that the Titans had a really good game?

Read the full transcript

45:18I don't know. I think the Titans want to be like, I think they're young. And I think sorry, that's wild. they want to be good i just i get it though they're like they're they're they have they're on the edge yes yeah yes they're like right on the outside of the like we're a decent team bubble and they're like trying to break to break through it and they believe that they can yeah they're just not consistent enough and you know they gotta get their sea legs under there yeah um the jets i think that being a jets fan is the most fun to be a fan of in this moment why do you say that okay because the jets are chronically in pain but they won their first game which they haven't done in years it took them eight games last season to get one win and then they win the first game they give the packers a run for their money which even if that's a loss they played well in that game and you cannot take away a good quality game from them even with an l because that game is also like it's like you win or you learn and the packers might be taking that home as a win but the jets are taking that home as what are the very tiny micro adjustments that we can make to win and I know a lot of people are upset about the like end of that game um I don't really know that that I am because you just like never know and based on how well they played I don't think like I think the play call wasn't great but they had a great game right like that could have gone either way in any number of universes that this game was played and um I don't think that like Jets fans should be mad at Aaron Glenn for that which I think like they are a little bit, but the Jets have been so bad for so long to like win, to put up serious points and serious pressure against the Packers.

47:22Like the Jets are in the game. They are like in the running right now, whether they lost one or not, they played a good enough game to like hang out with some of the best teams. And that's just a fact. And that's not just because they played the Titans week one. They actually have been playing excellent. And I talked to this guy, I was in the airport on the little whatever SkyTram. And I saw a guy in the Packers shirt. So naturally, I was like, how are you feeling about the Packers? And he's like, I don't feel good about today at all. And so like the Jets are getting in people's heads, even fans.

47:55And you know, if your whole atmosphere is feeling bad about your team, your team's probably not going to be that good. And don't talk to me about energy. Talk to Nikola Tesla and Albert Einstein. And if you look at all of these super famous philosophers, they say everything is energy.

48:15Yep. Yeah.

48:21So what happened at the end of the game? So I'm pretty sure it was like fourth and one. And they ran it through the center, which during that game was probably one of their least successful plays. Yeah. So I feel like Brees Hall has been running pretty well and they're using Garrett Wilson pretty well. And I don't know where they've been last year, but I'm glad. I mean, I'm glad. yeah i think one thing that we forget too is that like last year was the first year with a new head coach after multiple head coaches and changes yeah and so i think that like last year was like a let's figure it out year and now they have like some semblance of system yeah i think they all like i don't know i think the way geno smith went in also has a lot to do with it like i think geno smith bought into aaron glenn and then they said okay if we're the heart of this who do we use the most effectively and then talk to those guys about i don't know if there's probably more collaboration in this version of the jets than there was previously but people are mad aaron glenn for the fourth and one play call yeah um which are like there people always get mad though people people get mad about tush push and people get mad about fourth and one if you should go for it or not and if you don't get it then people are like what a terrible idea like this right blah blah blah but then if they get this we're such dogs like so crazy um it's like yeah so crazy but which like i don't know i'm a fan too so like i get it um and i think that the jets will become a team like the lions and the bears like they're all grew up in the same system like dan campbell ben johnson aaron glenn came from the same place where they built a team from literally nothing and they all love a fourth and one every single one of those three men love a fourth and one and so their fan bases are eventually going to get on the fourth and one bus where they understand that like they're going to go for it more times than not and Sometimes it's going to work and sometimes it's not.

50:39Right. I feel like you just can't win because if you get it, then it's like the fans did something. But if you don't, then the fans are disappointed. I don't know. It's just... And then if you don't even go for it, then the fans are pissed. Yeah, that's actually so true. Yeah. Honestly, if I was a coach, I would never be... I would not be able to be on social media. All right. Too easily influenced. Too easily influenced. Who did the Saints play yesterday? Ravens. But they won. Yeah, 24 to 17. Which I would like to put on the record that last year, if you listened to the podcast, which, hey OGs, thanks for being here.

51:24I kept saying the Saints are actually good. The Saints are actually good. Just give them a little bit of time. Last year they were projected to win one game. They won five. And I said, the Saints are better than anyone gives them credit for. And now I'm being proved right. Olave is a dog. A dog. A freak. Yes. Incredible. And I like Tyler's show. I don't know that much about him, but he's showing. He's showing up. He's going to win off. Life of a show girl.

51:59oh okay and then the brown i don't even really want to talk about the ground we're not going to talk about they won and i think took it i think the happiest fan base in the nfl right now is the jets and i think the saddest fan base in the nfl is the bucks like the the bucks the bucks will last three years though have been hyped the hell up in off season and then just get crushed like They have random great games. And then they have random awful games like this one. Like the one against the Browns. They're the definition of any given Sunday. He expect Baker to go off on his former team. And he did not.

52:43He did not. Okay, let's move on. Travis Kelsey has the most post-catch yards in NFL history. And this is not just for tight ends. This is in total. He ends 67 yards after catch in the game this week, bringing his career total to 6 ,288 yards, which surpasses Hall of Fame, Famer Fox, 6 ,230 yards. He finished with a game-high nine receptions for 101 yards and a touchdown. So go off Travis Kelsey. I love it when we get to talk about Travis Kelsey on the field and not just in the relationship realm, because obviously I love to talk about the relationship. But I like it when we get to see his fame for him.

53:34Yeah. Yeah, exactly. He's still that guy and not just Taylor's husband. Yes. But we love that too. even though when he scored she pointed to her ring and said that's my husband which was the cutest thing i've ever seen so cute yeah and she looked so cute like i loved her little outfit her little hair her little lob is so cute um she's a star she's a star um did you see that they put up like an eight foot wall around their cleveland home no i didn't yeah so whatever i think it's Cleveland but wherever they're building their new home they put like a privacy wall around it yeah which like I can't even imagine being that famous because Travis was famous before but not the way that like not the way that Taylor's famous um and so it's like I can't even imagine like that level of fame where you can't where you like have to put up a wall around your house to like enjoy it right right it's just i think that's why so many people love to live in new york city though because new york city like sarah jessica parker just like walks around on the street and like people just fuck off yeah i feel like a lot of stars just walking around on the street in new york city yeah like on the subway like the whole thing it's just like normal right right it's like one of the only places that are like celebs can be more normal versus like Like, you know, if you go to the middle of Ohio, you going there is like the biggest news that happens.

55:09Yeah. In like smaller towns, obviously. But like big cities. But still, like, I don't know. It makes me sad for them, but I hope that they like feel safe and private and happy. Yeah. I wonder if there will ever be a day where she doesn't have to worry about that kind of stuff. Yeah. Jimmy Fallon is the younger one, right? Yeah. okay he had someone on his show and they were talking about ibiza and there's like a very famous woman i don't remember who it was though but she was like i wear a black wig and i go to ibiza and i party and i rave and she's like but nobody knows it's me because i'm wearing a wig oh wait i did hear about you see that yeah and i can't think of who it was oh my god um that's yeah yeah i can't remember either but yeah yeah so i don't know i don't know if they'll I think, like, maybe they travel to other parts of the world also.

56:06But, like, Taylor's so famous now that you have to be, like, really. Honestly, I don't know. I don't know how to do it. I don't, like, I don't understand how that security works. I'm also, like, not. It's very hard for me to be, like, a super fan of something. So, like, I don't have the mind of somebody who, like, needs to know where she is. Like, she said that she has, like, days where she just bed rots. And honestly, that made me like her so much more. but other than that like i don't know her whereabouts right yeah and um sorry just to go back that was nicole kidman that said that about abuse nice which is badass yeah moving on this is my favorite story of the day story six i think we actually talked about this last week showing stats or showing outing the players that have been arrested.

57:00Yes. So during the Cleveland Buccaneers game, they showed a stat comparing Baker to Deshaun Watson, and they showed completion and attempts, yards, and then the third one is allegations. 27 allegations for Deshaun Watson to zero for Baker is absolutely savage. So savage. Honestly, this is one thing that, like, I wish that the Sidney Sweeney thing hadn't happened because this needs to be bigger news. like the NFL recognizing and outing these players on their team's broadcast because it's not just now a player thing. It's the team. And it is saying you can do these things and stay on our team. You can do these things and we will still pay you.

58:03You can do these things and we will not try to trade you away. And so it's outing every single team and every single organization and ownership group and all of this stuff. And we like really need to reinforce like this is important. but I feel like the Sydney Sweeney thing like really overpowered and like people are not talking about it of course because like why would people talk about something that's good for women which like I don't want to get on that soapbox but like we need to talk about this more this is crazy and hilarious but also like this is like we keep asking for change and change and change and change and like this is the change like this is the change actively happening in front of our eyes and it's like our job to make sure that like the world knows about it and like recognizes it and says, NFL, keep doing this because it's important to us and it impacts us and it makes us feel better as women.

58:47And like, go on, girl. Because it's like, if you only negatively reinforce stuff, like it's not helpful. Like if you own school, the kid, that kid's going to grow up and be angry. Like you have to positively reinforce when people do things that are really, really good for women. And this is really good for women. And it's hilarious that they did that. And social pressure is so important. Like social pressure is why kids drink when they're 14 years old. It's not because they think I should drink. It's because they get socially pressured into it. Like social pressure is like one of the probably biggest drivers.

59:18Like work pressure, you can get a new job. Like relationship pressure, you can break up. But like social pressure on a national level works. Taylor Swift literally left the country and went into hiding because of the social pressure from Kim Kardashian. And now she's a billionaire. Like social pressure works. Okay, I'm done. I hope it will have a positive impact to hold these guys accountable. Yeah. Sorry. No, it's just like it's about time. It's about freaking time. Yes. And I was wondering last week, so like once the allegations are out there or the convictions or whatever it be, I was like, are they going to keep this up?

1:00:08Like how many broadcasts are they putting it in or is it just a one time? Oh, yeah. Like how how much does this come up? Because I do think that like I think that there is a level that you can add this in to not like kind of crush the morale and excitement of a game. And I want women to be seen and heard. And I think that's really important. I think that like how how much would become too much even for like women to hear because it is like really intense and it makes you feel like sad and bad and intense. So I was really curious to see how often this would show up. CBS is chaotic for that one.

1:00:50I think it's like I want to talk to the people making these decisions. But I was really curious to see that to see like how often it comes up. And I'm still kind of curious. but I do think that like even if it only is in the first couple of seasons like people hear it yeah we'll kind of see how it progresses I was wondering if they were showing it because he was doing because Deshaun Watson was doing better than Baker just to pull him down a peg just you know like if they'll continue to show it you know if Deshaun continues to do well just to balance it out. And I'm kind of wondering about Puka because Puka's in an ongoing lawsuit and he's out right now and they haven't showed any of his stuff.

1:01:37So I'm curious to know, is there a level of favoritism that will go on? Right. I don't know. Right. And like what kind of allegations will they share? Yeah. It's like, it's so interesting. It's like unprecedented territory but it's so badass that they're even doing it and that one was so effing funny to me I was like this is this is chaos like so savage and I love it it's it's yeah it's like usually I feel like groupthink is like kind of bad but I think this could have been like a groupthink thing where everyone's like yeah do it you know and sometimes it goes really badly and I think this one went really well i thought it was so funny yeah it's it's not like it's just one person it has to go through multiple people okay oh my gosh okay wait i have to can we talk about like three things really fast this really sent me the wrong way this week kyle uschak ran into the security guard and didn't say sorry and that really made me upset because the poor guy is just doing his job making sure that nobody runs in your field and he ran into like a cameraman who ran into the guard and the guard was like so caught off guard and like you have to remember like these guys are just normal dudes like they can't take a hit from you and so he took a hit and and just like turn around like what's going on this poor guy this poor guy has to listen to the whole game and can't watch a thing and then you run into him sorry you shaking his hand be like you know what man i'm really sorry about that because it was like he wasn't even watching right he was facing the other way and he just got hit from behind bammed into by kyle ushek i think he scored touchdown but i was like you need to say sorry you definitely say sorry because that's a hard job and honestly i wouldn't want that job to freaking have to stand the other way the entire time who knows if he has a screen in front of him you just hear the crowd and you can't turn around that must be killing him horrible anyway kyle ushek send him dinner or something or say sorry or i don't know have him on wiped up mic'd up i don't know but i didn't like it and you need to apologize okay finally i feel really sad for miami um they just got spanked i mean at least they got more than 10 points but i feel sad for them and um also is there ever a good time to abandon your team

1:04:10yes but not week two well like i'd say give it a couple more weeks and then you can abandon but like wouldn't you say that like if there was a time for a browns fan to like test out a new team it would be oh yeah browns are they're easily this year yeah like it just a lot of like there's not really a huge population of people in Miami who are like obsessed with the Dolphins I feel like compared to other fan bases um and even like other fan bases like the Lions sucked for so long the Jets have sucked for so long but their fan bases are like rabid like I feel like Miami doesn't have that so people have like abandoned over time and I was just thinking like is there a good time to abandon your team and just for the girls if you're really having a bad time and you want to change there's always wrong i had a girl wagon um i think she i think it was in the intro introductions page in our um social club and she said i have no allegiance and i was like that's so fun and i was like bet like that's awesome that's fine but yeah is her allegiance just to her fantasy team yeah that's like her first year playing fantasy she's like dating a seahawks fan and she's like i have no allegiance i just like it that's amazing i was like that's go off go off she'll find it eventually she'll find she will she'll find her team yeah yeah okay well i think that's all we have for you in the pick six today jojo have the best time ever thank you i'm about to go get some wine right now i think incredible incredible Have a great time.

Welcome to the Her Game Days Pod!

Victoria is a little under the weather and JoJo calls in from Barcelona for this week's Pick Six, but the show must go on. We were at the Bills vs. Lions opener in the new stadium, so we give you our take from the stands: what we loved, what needs work, and why the chicken tenders deserve their own review. Then we get into Zach Ertz's return to the Eagles, a brutal week of quarterback injuries, the teams that aren't the worst anymore, Travis Kelce making history, and the broadcast graphic that put Deshaun Watson's allegations on screen.

This week's six

1. Josh Allen's flu game. Five total touchdowns while sick, more than eight teams scored combined. Plus our first impressions of the new Bills stadium.
2. Zach Ertz is back in Philadelphia. With Dallas Goedert out with a sprained MCL, the Eagles bring back a familiar face. Plus, why we think the complaints about the tush push are boring.
3. The injury report. Jayden Daniels, Caleb Williams, Jaxson Dart, Malik Nabers, and a rough weekend for Baltimore.
4. Are the worst teams no longer the worst? The Titans, Jets, Raiders, Saints, Browns, and the Colts' record-losing streak.
5. Travis Kelce makes history. The most yards after the catch in NFL history, at any position.
6. The NFL puts allegations on the screen. Why this matters for women, and why we should be talking about it more.
