Guests

No named guests in the transcript. Two hosts: JoJo (in London) and Victoria (in the U.S.). They also reference “the girls” from their community chat, but no specific guest identities are given.

Key claims

  • Bills Mafia overreacted early; Bills looked awful in the first half but lost 16-24.
  • Case Keenum is an underrated “backup who comes in clutch,” citing 32 career starting wins and many against Super Bowl-winning QBs.
  • Betting should be banned for people threatening athletes; sportsbook voiding can happen when plays change bet outcomes.
  • Chiefs are boring to watch because they ramp up late; Dolphins’ defense was strong until the fourth quarter.
  • Jets fans are “OG Jets haters,” unlike other fanbases.

Notable examples

  • Keenum’s Minneapolis Miracle (2018) to Stefon Diggs.
  • Trevor Lawrence sliding/goal-line kneel controversy; Fanatics voided “TD” bets.
  • Jets-Lions: 31-24, tied in the fourth; Jameer Gibbs’ Aaron Glenn celebration.

0:16Victoria:Hey girl. Hey girl. Welcome back to the Her Game Days podcast. JoJo is in London and I am here in the U.S. and for fun we are going to see how the episode goes without six very specific items to talk about because the NFL is crazy. This week was nuts and I feel like I say that every single week of the NFL, but we didn't want to box ourselves in this week because we just wanted to talk about the craziest stories that we saw and so we're just gonna rock with it. How was your viewing experience in in europe well i found a stream thank goodness for the bills game and watched it in bed with wine and a domino's pizza you know what the domino's is crazy i is so dumb but it was only living around our hotel and um we just didn't feel like going out it was a lot of pickleball all weekend and so your friend is like a professional pickleball player just trying to go pro in europe um for pickleball and it's pretty cool it was pretty fun to watch and it's the ppa um which is a big deal um so it was just cool and watched three days of pickleball and I was pickleballed out just from watching.

1:54Victoria:I do feel like pickleball is a game that when I'm over it, I'm like super over it. Like I can play however many matches, whatever, have a great time. And then once I'm done, I'm like, that's it for me. Like I'm out. Yeah. It can be so fun. And then all of a sudden it's not. Yeah. Yeah. But you're just so what was was there a big crowd? Like what was the spectating experience like? It wasn't a huge crowd. It was just just a lot of people playing and then everybody's just watching each other. Basically, all the pros are watching each other. And it wasn't it's a bigger deal in the US. So it's still up in tummy in Europe.

2:36um but uh yeah it was just it was really cool to just be there and watch a lot of good pickleball

2:45Victoria:it's yeah it's cool when you go from like watching like playing pickleball like with your friends yeah we're all average you know you got like one really good friend and you always come across those guys on the court wait this is actually one of my biggest dicks is like when you when you go play pickleball with like guys and like there's that one guy who's like really obsessed with like like, spin moves, you know, or, like, undercutting it so it, like, spins back. I don't know what it's called. Yeah, hitting it with spin. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But that's, like, the equivalent to me of going bowling and the guy never bowls straight, but he's also, like, not that good of a bowler.

3:25Victoria:And you're just like, could you relax? Like, it's fun. We're just having fun. Like, this is casual. We do not need to spin. This is wreck league.

3:38Victoria:oh it's funny yeah okay well i'm glad you got to watch the bills game honestly thanks yeah i don't like dominoes like i never order dominoes but same sometimes when you're traveling like you just have to pick the closest thing and like get in bed because you're tired so exactly um yeah we got bottle of wine at perfect the corner store which can't go wrong Bodega. And then, yeah. And then Domino's just happened to be an expert. It was actually pretty good. And I'm sure it doesn't taste as good as that in the States. But, well. Premium Domino's because it's in Spain. Yeah. And you're watching the Bills game.

4:17Let's start with the Bills game because there were so many girls just saying,

4:23Victoria:whenever they wear these stupid uniforms, they suck. And, like, the first, I want to say, like, into the second quarter, all of Bill's Mafia was true panic like unwell the whole half the whole first half was insane like five total turnovers in the whole game and we looked like trash and it was just so bad it was so bad and they look like um I saw a meme and it said uh Pepsi jersey oh yeah that was probably the closest thing i've seen it was just hideous and i don't know what josh was doing that was he didn't have the flu but he didn't have a flu game yeah Yeah. This is insane. Well, it's crazy because the final score is 16-24.

5:25Victoria:And the first half, Chargers fans are like, you know what? We're back, baby. This is our freaking year. We're killing it. The Bills mafia is freaking out like no more Super Bowl. I think it's like one of the craziest things about football fans that like, I feel like women are less like this than a lot of men. but like the drama of something happens and that's the experience for the entire season after like one play is so funny to me i think that's called optimism i feel like women have more optimism maybe but i don't know bill's bill's mafia is different we just think we're hopeless all the time it's like oh okay we're gonna blow it even when we're up you're not gonna blow it I feel like there's a couple okay so there's like really two three teams I don't know only a couple that I feel like actually came in ready for the season and I feel like the Bills are one of them the Bills came in ready for the season I feel like even though the Seahawks lost the Seahawks were ready for the season and then the 49ers came in like ready to go and those are really the only ones that kind of made statements is like being ready and the chiefs i feel like as well but those like four teams are the only teams who looked ready to play in the nfl in the first three weeks as a whole like the lions have gotten their footing but they're well i guess they're good but the loss just kind of like threw me off but like i don't know bucks not ready chargers not ready raiders are i feel like their wins are an accident uh-huh like which is so unexpected right and i don't think they expected it either which is why i'm like not putting them in the in that top right well and also kirk o 'chains as the Falcons used to call Kirk Cousins, Kirk O 'Chance.

7:36He's just coming out of the woodworks, like just slinging it. I think he's surprising himself on the Raiders. Like that was insane. And then the Eagles, who are they? Who are they this year? What happened?

7:54Victoria:So last year I was like, I think that the Eagles are going to have a comeback. Like, I felt like the Eagles and the Chiefs both had a low moment. And so I was like, oh, well, they're the Eagles and the Chiefs. So obviously this is like a fluke. This is not who they are. This is just like a tough season. But they got actually destroyed. Yeah. It was ugly. 27 to 7. That is a 20-point loss. But actually, this is—I'm so glad you brought this up because this is my most— This is the Vozinha of the NFL. Vozinha was the kicker, the World Cup kicker from Capo Verde who—you don't know about him? Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

8:49Victoria:Yeah, who is like 42 and he used to be a mechanic. And then he goes into the World Cup and he has 16 or 20 something million followers. Like, this is the voxinha, like, of the World Cup. And like, OK, so Case Keenum, if you guys didn't know, Case Keenum was a third string quarterback for the Bears that went in because Caleb Williams was out after. Everyone's being so mean to Caleb Williams about, like, acting injured when he actually was injured. Like, why do you have to rip your knee literally in half? Like, why do you have to have a dangling limb for it to be, like, okay to be injured?

9:31And now it's, what, grade two or something? So he's going to be out for a couple weeks. Like, it's still serious. People are so mad.

9:40Victoria:And I'm like, guys, but I've also had sprains that hurt way. I broke my foot and like walked it off and then drove myself home and was like, I don't know, kind of hurts, probably fine. And it's like cracked a bone. And then I've like rolled my ankle and like never been in more pain. So I guess the people who were being mean to him just weren't athletes. Yeah. Yeah. Or people that bet on him. Or people that bet on him. Yeah. Yeah. But like you, I think you posted on Instagram, you can't take out your anger on people because you're bad at betting. Yeah. Right. Like, that's not, it's not their fault that you put in a bad bet, that your radar was wrong.

10:23Victoria:That's your fault, not theirs. It's out of control. And it looks like, I think it was the UK that's actually going to be doing something about it. So, like, it's, I'm glad that that's happening because people need to be punished. Not, like, go to jail, but. Wait, what is the UK doing? Okay, hold on. Now I have to look at it. Okay, the UK is doing something. So look at that. And then I'll all segue back to Case Keenum because I feel like I really want to talk about him more. And then we'll we'll like wrap it back around. OK, Case Keenum is the third string quarterback because Tyson Baggett is still working through a concussion protocol.

11:04Victoria:So I guess Case Keenum got called like he knew he was going in. This wasn't like a day of decision like he knew he was going in. And what I kind of forget about, like, there's like a room, like a group of quarterbacks who are always quarterbacking at practice. So like Case Keenum is fully on the team. Like he goes to work every day. He does his job. He knows like the playbook. He's not in like the QB meeting of like, I guess, what's going to happen the night before. I don't really know. But he's like playing every week. So this wasn't like a freak accident that he like had some reps in. He didn't like come off the street, but he's on a five and a half million dollar extension.

11:46Victoria:He's also the quarterback who threw the Minneapolis Miracle, which was a walk off touchdown pass that won the 2018 playoff game for the Vikings as the time was expiring. And at the time, it was like one of the most famous plays in NFL history. And what's crazy about that play is the person who caught that pass in 2018 was Stefan Diggs. Oh, wow. That feels like a lifetime ago. Eight years ago. Eight years ago. Yeah. So it's crazy. So to recap his night, he had five of six passes and 66 yards and 11 plays in his first drive. and then um the early lead came from luther bird and the third who i'd never heard his name before um i don't know if that's just because i don't watch the bears like they're not the closest team that i'm watching but i was like oh that's that's fun um by the end of the night 24 24 for 34 passes 247 yards two touchdowns and a 110.8 passer rating philadelphia never led of of course.

13:01Victoria:But let's talk about what's actually interesting here, because like stats are cool. But Case has 32 wins as a starting quarterback in the NFL. So he's 38 now, but 32 wins and nine of those are from against Super Bowl winning quarterbacks. So nearly 30 percent of his wins are against Super Bowl winning quarterbacks, which like, who the heck is this guy? Like, I don't know. Maybe, did you, like you've been an NFL fan forever. Like, did you know, do you know about him? I mean, I know about him, but he's not noticeable, I guess, if that makes sense. It's like, he's just kind of there. Kind of like Jacoby Brissett, he's just kind of there, but he's still singing it.

13:51um yeah but but yeah he's just like a his feels like he's always been a backup and he comes in

14:00Victoria:clutch sometimes he comes in clutch yeah so his last game was with the texans in 2023 in december then he was on ir in 2024 which it feels crazy to be 37 ir and a backup but like i guess whatever that's still going yeah but he's played 67 nfl starts and has been on like eight or something teams yeah yeah um ryan fitzpatrick on a lot of different teams yeah it's crazy okay so texans rams viking broncos washington browns bills bears wait he was on the bills i don't even remember him being on the bills i'd like this guy is crazy that's he's been all over this guy is the nfl qb room's best friend like you don't have to see him all the time but when you call him it feels like you're right back to normal oh my god oh my god yeah yeah i i love i hope I love him in him like hugging his daughter and his wife at the end.

15:18So cute. And he was just so grateful. He's just a cute little dad. I know.

15:25Victoria:In his like post-game speech, he was like, you guys don't know how much this means to me. I don't know if I was going to be able to do this again. This is so special. And I thought it was so cute. And then, yeah, he had his like daughter in the interview. and they're asking his daughter like what time is your bedtime she's like eight o 'clock also did you see his daughter's outfit no i miss it okay so she's wearing like this cool jacket and then she's wearing like these 80s printed flare pants oh my gosh i'm putting the photo in the ins and outs so if you guys read my ins and outs from sub stack it's it's on there um but she like looks she's like a wag like her outfit is oh fabulous but yeah it was really incredible and she's so cute and yeah he's just like i'm gonna go celebrate with my family now so i'm super curious to see how how he plays next week because they'd be in they would be literally insane to put in tyson at this point like tyson's a wild card and this guy has more wins against a quarterback than like nearly any other backup in the league i think it is um okay i got the picture okay check out this freaking queen

17:01no can you see that oh my gosh that's amazing i know she looks fabulous are rocking wow

17:12Victoria:i love that i know i'm inspired i'm like should i wear this to the next game also like who's her mom like we need to call mrs keenum because what is going on here also such a lit job to make five and a half million dollars over two years plus he probably made a ton of money last night because yeah i think there was an incentive if he won yeah because they get like incentives for winning they get incentives for like even if you go in for one snap I was talking to somebody I don't know who this was but I was talking to somebody last year about like team like inner dynamics of the team and sometimes they will like pull guys from the roster who they are like active but they know aren't going to play that week for like whatever reason and then activate younger or like benched players you don't make as much because by activating them they get paid their bonus and that money's going to get allocated somewhere anyway.

18:18Victoria:So they bump them up to be able to pay them whatever their like in-game or active roster bonus is. So I'm sure he made like, I don't know, my guess is going to be like 300K. Probably more. I think that was just from that one game. I think that's what it was, like 200 or 300K. Trying to find it, but... Yeah. But are the Bears the new 49ers without the power plant?

18:54Without the power plant is wild. Oh, because the 49ers. Yo, that team is so broken. Did you see? They can't even put their guys that are injured on IR because they have too many guys that are injured. It's like my fantasy team.

19:16Victoria:Like, Jesus, everyone's on IR. Actually, though, like, I need a report from the San Francisco 49ers. Like, I need a scientific-level meta-analysis of the injuries and all of their, A, treatment plans. but B, what is your personal training plan? What is your nutrition looking like? How much time are you taking off in the off season? When are you coming back? How much load are we putting on your body? How much load are we putting on your body every single week? Because like something is very off there. And as a personal trainer, I'm looking at the personal train, like the trainer department, because your physical readiness for the game is dependent on your preparation, not just in pads and on the field, but how are you training your muscles and your stability to be able to take that impact?

20:13Victoria:Because maybe their training cycles are too intense. So they're training for intensity in the gym when that puts too much overall load on their body, and then it causes injuries. I'm like, yeah, I need a scientific analysis of the training plan. we need a svu investigation for sure i'm like nerding out about personal training you're like get the get the svu las vegas in here we need a we need like there's something wrong something is off yes because like very off yeah it i i don't know but i'm also wondering but why isn't why isn't anybody looking into it like there is clearly this team is more injured than any other team yeah like and it's like and it's every year every year it's the power plant like you're owned by billionaires like you can just go fly somewhere and i mean i know you have to like house them and whatever it's probably unreasonable yeah but i'm like well i don't know i don't really believe that it's the power plant to be honest yeah because you said i think it was our first episode this season's that carolina is also in the same boat and they have a power plant right across from their um facilities too which is crazy but um but they did just build that stadium uh for san fran wait is it newer like Yeah.

21:54I'm not going to lie to me. They were playing at Candlestick Park before. And they shared with the Giants the baseball team. What? That's crazy, actually. Yeah, Candlestick Park was an outdoor stadium located in San Francisco, home of the Major League San Francisco Giants. Yeah, so that was both.

22:26Victoria:Okay, so Candlestick Park, though, was used from 1971 through 1999 by the San Francisco Giants. And then in 1971, the 49ers joined them for that NFL, starting that NFL season. But then the Giants left after 1999 because they moved to the waterfront ballpark, Oracle Park, And then the 49ers stayed at Candlestick Park until 2013 before moving to Levi's Stadium, which is the one in Santa Clara. And then Candlestick Park doesn't exist anymore. It was demolished in 2015. So the 49ers are at Levi's since 2013. And then Oracle is the San Francisco Giants Stadium since 1999. that's crazy that stadium though is fabulous that stadium is like one of the best the san francisco giants baseball stadium one of the best stadiums on the planet i would argue yeah i it's on my list yeah so the oracle park that's their new one um yeah that it's on my list i want to get to all all the parks for baseball.

23:53Oh, really?

23:54Victoria:You're like a boy on Hinge.

24:02Victoria:It's like every boy's dream to go to every park. But I got a one-two, too. Like, I think it'd be cool. Like, I'd love to go to, like, every NFL stadium. I'd love to go to every MLB stadium. I'm doing pretty well on MLB. Yeah. That's good. I've got to have, like, ten. How many have you gone to? Yeah. Yeah, because I have, let's see, maybe not. San Francisco, San Diego, Washington Nationals, Phillies, Yankees. Have you been to Fenway? That's so embarrassing. Have you been to Fenway yet? Toronto? Toronto. Angels, never been to the Dodgers Stadium, cannot go there. Also, go Padres. Padres won 8-0 against the Cubs last night.

24:50Wow. That was almost the score of the Red Sox game, but not in our favor. Yeah, the Red Sox got eaten. 9-0.

25:00Victoria:Absolutely eaten. But, like, baseball is so crazy. Because how can you be in the playoffs? Like, when it's a blowout in football, in the playoffs, it is a shock. Like, it is so crazy. but in baseball, a 9-0 and an 8-0 in one night and nobody's batting an eye? It's iconic. Yeah. I'm embarrassed, though. Yeah. Yeah. And against the Yankees, no less. Like, ugh. I know. That's such—that game is so satisfying for the Yankees. Like, Yankees, Red Sox. I know that people think that, like, the Dodgers are, like, the best whatever. also this comes from like a deep sense of like distaste for the dodgers like i don't have this distaste in football because i became a football fan as an adult but like my distaste for the dodgers is like so deep like childhood ingrained in my soul so like i don't care about them i don't think they're iconic i don't like them and i don't care about them anyway sorry if there's dodgers fans.

26:07Victoria:I have Dodgers fan friends. I just, I'm a Padres fan through and through. And you guys always come to our stadium and then you're mean to us when we're just trying to enjoy a burrito by the ocean. Okay. We don't need to fight. Like we just, we just want to hang out. Okay. That's how Padres fans are. We want to go. We want to have our beer. We want to have our surf and turf. And we want to hang out by the water with the ocean breeze, watching our Padres crush it. Okay. And we don't want to fight. And you always come and you try to fight us. And it stresses me out. anyway i think that the red socks and the yankees

26:42are the most iconic teams in baseball yeah so i feel like that matchup is like drama oh definitely it's history years and years of drama years and years but um years and years We'll see how it goes.

27:04Victoria:Hopefully they can do something tonight. Tonight's a new night. But you know what's crazy? Watching the NFL on the East Coast is insane. Because, listen, I became a football fan on the West Coast. I've lived most of my life on the West Coast. And when I lived on the East Coast, I didn't follow sports as closely and passionately as I do now. So even when I was like a Nationals fan, I'll just check the scores the next day. Like I'm just not whatever. But now. Wait, you're a Nationals fan? Well, I just lived in DC. So I was there. Oh, okay. And I just went to like, I've always like loved going to sporting events.

27:45Victoria:So they've like been a part of my life for a long time. And I just like enjoy sports for sports. So if I live there, then I'm going to go and like support whatever team is there. Yeah. So when I was there, I, like, watched the Nationals. But I wouldn't, like, stay up to, like, watch the game versus, like, the Padres. I'm going to stay up to watch it. The Lions, Sunday night football, Monday night football. I'm up until, like, one in the morning because you get hyped the heck up. And then what's a girl going to do? I'm an early morning girl. And now I just have to one in the morning? One in the morning.

28:20It's rough life, man. East Coast. I'm like, I swear, like I'm becoming. But you can get stuff done in the morning now before the games start at 1. Unless there's a London game at 9.30 a.m. Then it's literally 12 hours at least of football. 9.30 to probably 11 p.m.

28:45Victoria:But honestly, I love a morning game. like I love a morning game and I love a 5 p.m game those are the elite times a 10 a.m and a 5 30 p.m best times for a game because the morning I know that girls over here they like to wake up go to Pilates go for their walk meet a friend for coffee come home sit down make the crockpot okay I know that that's fabulous and I'm talking about all this sounds like dual income no kids girls OK, but that's what I am right now. So, OK. Or you take your kids on the East Coast, you take your kids to their sporting games in the morning and then you don't have to miss your NFL team game because your kids are already done, which sounds actually fabulous if you have kids.

29:32Victoria:But for a non-kid girly who's a morning person, being able to wake up at like 8, 8.30, I make my come-ex, I'm relaxed, I go to the couch, I put on my sweatshirt, my cozy outfit, and I sit on the couch and while I'm waking up I get to watch the Lions play. That is peak, primo, the best football watching experience. Or even like tailgate, like you wake up and like you get a hot coffee and you're like bundled, you know, and you're just like cute and like comfy. It's ideal. I like how you're saying this. I'm like sweating over here. And I'm just getting hot because you're talking about hot coffee and bundled up.

30:20JoJo doesn't have air conditioning in her hotel. I know. I chose the one hotel that doesn't have AC. At least we're in London and it's not 80 degrees here.

30:29Victoria:But still, I feel like also whenever I record this podcast, I get sweaty no matter what.

30:39We just get heated up.

30:41Victoria:We just get heated up. Yeah.

30:46Victoria:Okay. Did you find out what the bedding thing is? Oh, yeah. So it's not UK. I don't know. I don't know why I said UK, but says U.S. sports leagues urge lifetime betting bans for those threatening athletes. So if you are threatening an athlete, you're going to get banned from betting ever again. Which I think is primo. That is a great idea. That's how you stop the hate. Like, it's no brainer, I think. I think that's fabulous. Like, yeah, you can't go after your own mistakes. Yeah. Also, it's like these guys are trying their best. Nobody is trying to tank your bet. Like, they are trying to have a good game.

31:43Victoria:And if they suck, that sucks for them, too. Yeah. but can we talk about the Jags game did you see what Trevor Lawrence did when he didn't you like go down at the one at the one yeah because he wanted um to in to get a touchdown but then everybody's down right well I don't know or did they everybody's saying I think he did but But everybody's saying that he wasn't supposed to and he rigged it. And Fanatic's sportsbook actually is voiding legs where the bets of people that had Trevor Lawrence getting a touchdown. So they voided it because of that play. So it doesn't count against them. It's against the people.

32:40It's crazy. Okay. That's what.

32:46Victoria:So they had under nine minutes remaining. Clear path to the end zone, slid and took a knee to the goal line. Aim to bleed the clock and secure the blowout victory rather than risk an unnecessary stoppage or quick score. And then he admitted that it was overkill. there's still eight minutes left like like the the like one minute is not an like you could just make your next drive long but i do feel like teams are really bad at that like they're really bad at um like when they need to management yeah like when when the games are close they're not that good like it always ends up being like a crazy play you know like 45 yard catch and then like touchdown and then there's like two minutes and 30 seconds and i'm like it's too much time like you can't be slacking it when you're in a close game right especially with like against a good quarterback like yeah that's that happens against uh patrick mahomes i think a lot and and that's too much time to lead for patrick mahomes way too much time yeah speaking of Patrick Mahomes.

34:09Tell me.

34:11Victoria:I don't like watching the Chiefs, okay? It's the same effing story. I cannot stand this. Like, I can't. I cannot look at him. He's all hand wave. I just, oh, it's so cringy. I know, I understand that the Chiefs are an incredible football team. I know that they win championships. I know that Andy Reid is a Hall of Fame coach and deserves money and flowers. And I am not saying anything bad about anyone on the Chiefs, but I don't like to watch them. because I am so bored. It's the same effing story every time. Like, give me some drama. And not the kind where your players go and do crazy shit outside the field.

35:00Victoria:Like, do something in the first two quarters. Like, do anything in the first two quarters. I'm so bored of watching you give teams hope. This is what they do. This is why they get you, because they give teams like the Miami Dolphins hope that they can do it, and then they rip it out from under them.

35:20and as a Malik Willis fan, I am offended. Man, that was not a good game, huh?

35:30Victoria:Okay, but the thing is, I feel like just like the Bills Chargers, like the score does not tell the whole story because they had, I think it was the same score, because the Dolphins were 24-10, okay, And then the Bills' Chargers was 24-16. So, like, a similar score. But the thing is, the Chiefs didn't score most of those points. Like, they were in the range of the Dolphins for the majority of the game. Yeah. And they just kind of pulled out, pulled away. Yeah. Yeah. And I think like I. Until the fourth quarter, I feel like the Dolphins played a great game, like a really like a great game. They held the Chiefs, their defense, like did their jobs.

36:24Victoria:And I think maybe they just got exhausted. and they weren't prepared for a potentially close situation that they kind of like put it all out on the field in the first three and then couldn't hold it when the Chiefs intensity went up. And then they either maintained or dropped their intensity in the end of that game, which led to the Chiefs winning, which is what the Chiefs do all the time. The Chiefs are always on, they're always on a 45 degree angle. They never start at their highest intensity. They're like, yeah. They ramp up to it. Yeah. So, yeah. But I think the Dolphins are not washed. I don't think the Dolphins are screwed.

37:10Victoria:I think the Dolphins should have a lot of confidence because of the way that they played the first three quarters. Like, were they the best team in the NFL? Absolutely not. But are they going to have a 0-17 season? Like, no. Well, they lost a chance. they did lose a-chan so that's i i wonder if that'll be like bad for morale or if they will like be like okay we gotta go win this for him because he was kind of the star he of that team they were gonna run him to the ground yeah this is like another thing to get on my training training thing though his injury was non-contact yeah was it acl acl yeah and so he's like out for the season but i think i don't think this one's like as dramatic as other injuries though because everything in that building is new like they are so green like their plan is not cemented because like one player is not a plan you need it like as much as he's a huge part of the plan like one player is not the entire plan so yeah I mean I think that they're just gonna feel like the way that they probably that I would recommend in my very professional football but I feel like I feel like everything at the Dolphins is an opportunity whether it's an opportunity to like score points or step up to the plate or show something that can get you traded to a team that is winning.

38:45Victoria:Like, everything that happens at the Miami Dolphins right now is, like, a massive opportunity. And so I think that they'll just take another young running back and be like, you can either step up or we can lose. And, like, you get to decide. Because, like, their defense did a pretty good job for the majority of the day. And if they can repeat that week over week, then, like, they're not going to need to score an absurd number of points. They just need to learn how to hold it until the end. but like to keep the Chiefs to 14 points for the first I think it was like I think it was three quarters yeah they just they don't have a lot of star power but I think that could also be a good thing that they're all very young and just you know grind it out and try to win something yeah because their defense does look good um and then I was just looking at the depth chart there's a guy named chop first name chop that's never that would never be a girl's name chop chop not even chip it's chop isn't there like a thing though we're like chop robinson um uh ncaa players are like make up their own names like they don't put their names on their jersey they like make up other names oh really no i think that's a thing i don't know that's that's new it's like uh your acting name your your stage name your stage yeah okay so to circle back yeah so the chiefs were seven in the first quarter seven in the second quarter at halftime the score was 14-7 the dolphins scored in the first quarter zero in the second Then you get to the third quarter, Chiefs don't score at all.

40:38Victoria:So there's zero points. Dolphins go three points, so then it's 14 to 10. And then in the fourth quarter, Chiefs go 10 points. So it's like the Dolphins' defense had an excellent day up until the fourth quarter. And I think even if it was 20, well, no, I feel like you got to be in the same decade, the same 10. How do you say that? I don't know. The same 10. Like if you're in the teens, you need to be in like the 10s, the teens, the 20s for it to look like a closer game. But I feel like this, I feel like the Dolphins did their job and we should give them credit for it. Yeah, I agree. We'll see what happens the rest of the season with them.

41:24But I think they'll win a couple. Yeah, I think they'll win a couple. In defense alone.

41:32Victoria:I want to talk about the New York Jets.

41:43Victoria:Why don't you want to talk about the New York Jets? Because I'm a Bills fan. We don't like the Jets. Okay. Fair. That's fine. I'll talk about that. Go for it. So I saw someone, actually one of my friends, she posted like, I'm so tired of everyone hating the Jets. And I was like, wait, but Jets fans are the OG Jets haters. like Jets fans Jets fans are the most dedicated haters on the planet like the Jets lose and they go of course we fucking lost and it's like so true though like no one hates the Jets no one no other teams like even you who's a Bills fan like nobody hates the Jets they just are irrelevant I yeah I think we're not threatened by them anymore yeah so I just thought that was so funny because I was like I was like you're the OG haters like you are the most dedicated and they've been through pain I don't know what it's like to be I know what it's like to be a fan for life of a team that's never gone all the way like right the Padres have never won the World Series while I've been a fan the Lions have never won the Super Bowl they haven't been to a Super Bowl so like I get it and like I do think that the Jets Jets fans endure a special kind of pain like I don't know what they put in their water to keep them bought in because the Dolphins suck and barely anyone watches the Dolphins like it's hard to find people who like the Dolphins at all but like not with the Jets you want a Jets fan I'll find you I I got a I got a laundry list of Jets fans but the Jets fans are the original Jets haters.

43:39Victoria:It was just so funny when people were like, everyone hates on the Jets. I'm like, no. It's you. It's you guys. It's just you. Yes. But did you, okay, so I assume you watched highlights from that game maybe? Yeah. Did you see Jameer Gibbs do Aaron Glenn's celebration?

43:57Yeah.

43:59Victoria:I thought that was so funny. I don't, I remember the Lions booed the Lions fans booed last year when the Lions played the Bears but I don't think they booed Aaron Glenn because Ben Johnson oh yeah I remember Amon Ross said on his podcast like yeah we're gonna boo him when he comes in I was like oh damn oh damn yeah also Amon Ross St. Brown's recently engaged if you didn't know to Brooklyn oh he is oh congrats yeah i know cute they got engaged like i don't know a month ago or something before season started but we had brooklyn on the podcast very very early she's like one of our top list like girls is in the episode like now still and i'm like that was like our second interview i've never been more nervous than for that interview you must you must have been like on cloud nine though like lion's wag like that's sick and she's like very beloved like yes yeah yeah so she's dope she's really cool she's yeah she's super cool and i like her she has like that awesome mix of like your opinion doesn't matter to me and being super nice like she's the the amount of like like such a good combo of unbothered and kind.

45:34Victoria:And I feel like you don't get that often. Like you either get people who are like kind of standoffish and unbothered and people who are like really nice and almost like so open. And she just like does it really well. Yeah. Yeah. She was, she was super down to earth and like it was, they had a cute story. Such a cute story. Yeah. Yeah. From high school. and yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah i remember listening to that it was it was really good interview yeah so cute okay so anyway the jets 31 to 24 a seven point game there was 10 games 10 out of 16 games this weekend that were decided by one score and this was one of them 31 to 24 and i believe it was in the fourth quarter they were tied.

46:26Insane. Insane. Were you nervous? Were you nervous watching or did you, you, you loved both teams. So who are you more rooting for?

46:36Victoria:So yeah, it's kind of like that feeling. I didn't want to watch the game to be honest. I didn't want to watch it because that's insane. I remember when I said this on the pod last year, some, one of the girls DM me and she was like, she was like, Victoria, You have to, you're supposed to be like, she was like, I think she said, I can't relate to you feeling bad for teams when they lose. But I just feel bad for them. I'm like, you were so hard and you lost and losing sucks. And so I didn't, I didn't want to see Aaron Glenn lose because what I really don't want to have, I want the Lions to win the Super Bowl.

47:13Victoria:I wanted the Lions to win. But I don't want Aaron Glenn to have a bad career. I want Aaron Glenn to win. And it's not because he does fancy celebrations. I just think that like his. He's like a coach that I feel safe with running important organizations. and so I think that like people I mean we don't know him but I feel like people like him and with that demeanor make such a positive impact on the sport and therefore on fans and on young kids and things like that that like I want him to win and I want him to have a great long career in the NFL and if the Jets lose lose lose Aaron Glenn's chances of becoming a head coach somewhere else drastically decline.

48:05Victoria:And so I want Aaron Glenn to win. I don't need him to win a Super Bowl over the Lions, but, and I don't want them to win a regular season game over the Lions, but I don't want Aaron Glenn to go down with the Jets. Yeah. I think that's a great point. And so, but I also like love the Jets story right now is probably one of the best storylines in the NFL.

48:30Victoria:How so? team has never won second year head coach washed quarterback geno smith that nobody believes in and then now it's turning to like all of this talent that's been unused for so long you know it's like it's like um i don't even know i'm like thinking of a really cheesy metaphor but like winter to like spring when like all the flowers are finally blooming you know so loser-y but like what's what's like a what's what isn't there like flowers that like they're dormant for like 30 years or something i feel like it's like venus flytrap you're yeah i am i'm comparing them to little daisies that are finally blooming whatever Yo, you're wild today.

49:24Petunias. Jets are petunias. Love it. Yeah.

49:31Victoria:Buried petunia scenes can remain viable and dormant in a garden soil for many years, germinating suddenly when construction or soil disturbance brings them closer to the light. Okay. They're just, you know what? They're late bloomers. And so was I. That's it. That's it. Okay, I can get on with that. Me and the Jets are the same. We're just the late bloomers. Late bloomers. We'll see how it goes this season. But I think Garrett Wilson looks good, finally. He needs someone. Well, isn't he hurt now? Is he hurt? Yeah, I think he got hurt, but I don't think it's like an out-out thing. I don't think he's out for his season yet.

50:18Victoria:They have some solid pieces. Yeah, and their defense crushes. Like the Lions over the last few years put up, they have super high scoring games, which I saw a headline, and I'm so tired of these headlines. Like, get new stories. Like, pick a new story. Somebody was like, is Jared Goff finally a viable QB1 in fantasy? Finally? Finally? Where have you been, sir? Where have you been? It's one of the top scoring offenses in points per game. What do you mean, finally? Like, are you done? I'm sorry, do you do math? Do you do math? Because if you're consistently scoring over 24 points a game, that's going to give your quarterback a lot of fantasy points.

51:12Right.

51:14Victoria:Anyway. Anyway. Yeah, so I think the Jets defense is also really good, which makes sense because Aaron Glenn is an extremely great defensive coach. Yeah, and just one last point on that is that I was afraid that Gibbs would be stopped this week. And I almost made a post, glad I didn't, to say, you know, beware, you know, Gibbs might not score this week. And then he scored three times. Of course he did. I knew that was going to happen. I was like, as soon as I think one way, the exact opposite happens. So I'm glad I didn't bet on that. But good for Gibbs. Yeah, you had like 41 fantasy points. Insane.

52:03Victoria:I've been looking really deep into like if a girl has X player on their roster, what percentage of teams won in our league. Yeah. Which I think is really crazy. Like, it was like something 79 % of girls who started Josh Allen in fantasy last week won. And then Jameer Gibbs got 41.4 points. 79.7 % of girls who had Jameer Gibbs won their matchup. 228 of 286 girls. Wow. Yeah. And the single girl that started Geno Smith won. Yeah. Wow. What a G. And now, I'm curious, are people going to start Case Keenum now? It wouldn't be a bad idea. Who are they playing this week? They're playing the Jets. Oh my god.

53:03That'll be a fun game. How about that Falcons-Packers game? What happened to the Packers? penix is back uh absolutely crushed it drake london went off bijan which we learned this week that's how you say his name bijan uh bijan bijan he's he that's i like it yeah i like it's not dijon it's bijan bijan bijan um but yeah they absolutely crushed it and they're they're back. The Falcons are back. It was a little scary there for those first two weeks. They're back. And I think... They look great. Especially against the Packers. The Packers fanbase is

53:55Victoria:losing faith in the Packers. Yeah. Like, the Packers... I... Do you think it's a fluke? The fluke being the Packers losing. Packers sucking. I don't know. They don't look good. I don't think Love is doing anything special this year. He's not really doing anything. Yeah, exactly.

54:27Yeah. Yeah.

54:31Victoria:Because I think that the Falcons looked really good and the Packers looked really bad. And the Packers ended last season really rough and started this season really rough. Are they 1-2 or 2-1 or are they 0-3? I think they're 1-2.

54:58Yeah, 1-2. They lost to the Vikings the first week. they won against the jets barely and then they lost against and they lost against the falcons

55:15yeah i don't know it's the falcons are back which i kind of like because i the falcons have never

55:25Victoria:really been great during like my deep fandom so i'm kind of excited to like just it's like a new a new team to like kind of follow along with and i love bajan yeah i like and it feels so funny to like say that like to like change i feel bad that we've been saying it wrong this whole time right like i think it's really important to like pronounce people's names correctly like really makes them feel like seen and comfortable and i think that if you're not doing that it's like a very middle-aged white man thing to like say someone's name wrong and feel like it's fine because they don't get it but like right as like a woman who cares about people it's really important that we say people's names right but i did recently find out that marriott is marriott what yeah so the owner somebody in the owner's family said that it's Marriott.

56:20Victoria:And but now, OK, now I talked about this on my Instagram, like I guess this was kind of a while ago, but I can't go to my family and say my family's a Marriott family. We always stay. We like love Marriott. It's fantastic. We go there all the time. It's like our the our hotel chain and

56:45Victoria:i can't just tell my family are we gonna stay at the marriott they're gonna be like what the fuck are you talking about so i can only say they're gonna make fun of you to the outside world but i can't say it to my my family because i'll be like why are you saying it like that yeah i think it's different because marriott is not a human oh yeah but it's somebody it probably is once you put it out in the world you have to be okay with people deciding what it is i think i think yeah i think it's i think it'll be okay if you call it whatever you want marriott i call it marriott is that how you yeah anyway bajon And Bajon, I feel like, was a player that didn't get the joy of the quality of his play for a very long time because the Falcons weren't very good.

57:46Victoria:And so the Falcons being good means that Bajon gets so much more elation because he is one of the best running backs. Like, I think he and Jameer Gibbs are very close in... Top two. Yeah. For sure. For sure. So I feel like it's fun if the Falcons start winning. Also, Michael Penix Jr. I don't know. I feel like he's kind of had a rough go. This is a sweet guy. He's like a cutie boy to me. Yeah. Yeah. I think he's... I don't know. He's still young. And I think he's not even peaking yet. No. And he could do big things, especially with that roster, with Drake London and Bajan. Like, they could absolutely crush.

58:38Yeah.

58:39Victoria:And I'm pretty sure Bajan put up on his Instagram, like, his stats. His stats and Drake London stats. It was like, Drake London, Drake London. They were like very similar stats, which I thought was really, really cute that like they have support for each other in that in that capacity. Yeah. OK. I have a couple of things that I I need to talk about before we go. Matt Stafford threw his 33rd pick six. Oh, my gosh. I actually think I would cry. Like, 33 pick, not even picks, pick sixes. And I know he's older, but like, my lord. That's too many. Wow. That game was fabulous. That game was so fabulous.

59:35I loved watching it. Okay.

59:40Victoria:I think that's bonus. Oh, Bonix. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. He was slaying it, man. Bo Nix was doing an incredible job. It was such a different game than the first week. Yes. No, that's so true. That's so true. Yeah. Do I ask the girls for their hot takes? So maybe we do the hot take and we give like a five-second response, like a one-sentence reply. Okay. Purdy is better than Mahomes. Wolf. That's hot. That's a hot take. That's a hot take. Packers would be 3-0 if they had an O-line. I don't think... No. Disagree. I don't think it's the O-line. I think there's more to that. I appreciate the Packers' love, but I disagree.

1:00:38Victoria:This is the best one. May catfished me in the draft. What?

1:00:49facts I love that one

1:00:56Victoria:another Drake May one Drake May was a one hit wonder

1:01:02yes I can get behind that one

1:01:05Victoria:yeah I feel like absolutely I think he's gonna I think that maybe this season maybe at the end of next season we could call him a one hit wonder but I think he'll come back you think so I think he'll be a middle I think it'll be a middle of the road. So maybe he was a one-hit wonder, actually. Yeah. I don't know. That's tough because the Patriots are just a whole mess. Yeah. The Falcons are back. Absolutely. Yes. We agree, obviously. Jalen Hurts is lucky he's cute. 100. 100%. Agreed. the Raiders winning was not on everyone's bingo card. Yeah, absolutely. Agree. Crickle chains. Um, Oh, there's a couple of Cowboys ones.

1:01:59Victoria:The Cowboys are still wedding the NFC East. And then it says, argue with a wall. Argue with a wall.

1:02:11Victoria:That's great. But I don't know if she's telling us to argue with the wall or if she's arguing with the wall. But it's so funny. I don't think... I'm just picturing her talking to a wall and be like... Like, typing it. You know? Your cowboys are going. They're going.

1:02:32Victoria:Dallas is better than this record, and I refuse to elaborate. I don't know what is wrong with them. They just can't pull it out. Like, they're good on paper. On paper. I actually agree with this. Like, I think that they have so much more potential, and they showed us last year their ability to do a great job. They just need their offense and defense to be on the same page because it looks like they're playing two different games, I feel like. Yeah. Yeah. The Broncos need to get their head in the game before Q4. Yeah. Agreed. They're, like, following in the Chiefs' footsteps, like, do nothing until the fourth quarter.

1:03:14Victoria:Right, right. this one's hot aaron rogers might have some old man magic left no absolutely not that guy's done i hate him sorry i think we'll see some great plays come out of him but i don't know if it will be enough magic to like actually be seen in the entire game his attitude is the worst part of him he hates who he plays with if you miss a catch from him he just hates he hates you yeah yeah like i i would never survive like i would never survive in that environment i would have to quit i would have to be i'd be like give me a trade because i get anxiety if people are like that exactly so yeah um okay last two that we'll share the bears are a good team with or without Caleb in parentheses, go birds, crying face, like smile.

1:04:13Victoria:I think I think they're a good team. But we have to see if Case can keep it up. I think Caleb makes them better. I think they're a good team. And the reason why Case was able to perform the way he was is because every single other person did their job very well. Yep. I agree. And then Case Keenum will keep playing until Caleb is cleared. And I think he better. He better. Yeah, don't put Tyson. Yeah. Anyway, come back. I'm going to try and post that each Tuesday so that we can do hot takes on the pod because they're so, the girls are so funny. That's one thing I didn't anticipate when, like, growing the social club this year.

1:04:51Victoria:I did not anticipate how hilarious the girls are. Yo, the girls are, they're cooking. They're cooking in the chat. So funny. Yeah, if you want to join the chat, her-gamedays.com. Oh, yes. Women's WNBA team out of New York. won.

1:05:34Victoria:It was the first WANBA team 8 seed to beat the 1 seed and take out the 1 seed in WNBA history, which is incredible. Sweat. Sweat. Sweat. Yeah. So that was fabulous. So go Liberty and follow JoJo on Instagram hergamedays underscore JoJo I'm at hergamedays hergamedays.substack.com that's super fun and yeah join the chat honestly it's like the best$7.99 you'll spend every single month it's like way better than netflix it's so much joy in there so i can't recommend and and the girls are talking every day every day it's not just game days it's every day and yeah they put us on like a flexible hair clip this week as well yeah talked about books we were reading talked about the game it's just it's the best place on my phone hands down it's it's great yeah good time okay thanks for listening to another episode love you bye cheerio
