Welcome back to another episode of your favorite football podcast, The Game by the Girls. For everyone, week six of the NFL season is here. I saw a clip this weekend that was like this guy saying, so everyone is bad and everyone is good and every bad team is good and every good team is also bad, but everyone is kind of good. and then I saw another headline that said, Any Given Sunday? And I think that's true. I feel like a lot of my predictions and a lot of most people's predictions, even the best of the best analysts, could not have predicted what we have in week six.
14So we have a lot to talk about. We're going to yap and recap. We have top five kind of favorite or impactful moments of the season towards the end of the day today and lots to talk about. But Giovanna, you went to Arrowhead where the Kansas City Chiefs play. So give me a recap. How was it? We're going to excuse the Chiefs jersey for this week because you looked hot. So I need to know. Tell me. Give me the details. No, let me tell you. It's like a different experience. Like being from Dallas and like going to Cowboys games growing up and still currently and comparing that to like Arrowhead and Chiefs fans is like night and day.
54Like Dallas fans are bad, but Chiefs fans? Holy moly. And I think like the difference in culture is primarily the fact that in Dallas, like we have the AT &T Stadium where the Cowboys play is like right next to the Rangers. And then you have another stadium right next to there where like XFL plays. And we have like hotels and there's other things to do. There's a museum there now. There's like a bunch of bars. And then you go to Arrowhead and it's in the middle of nowhere. So just very like starch differences between the two things. And I think experiencing that for the first time, like all the Chiefs fans have is tailgating.
29And that's what makes them crazy. Like it was a freaking college football like environment to me that I felt like when I walked in there. Mind you, I was at a college football game two days before. So it was very similar. I loved it. Nobody sits down. We had really good seats. And it's funny, I'm like the no sit down thing because I saw a video on TikTok about this couple literally getting kicked out of the stadium for apparently standing up too much and blocking the people behind them's view which was interesting to me because I feel like you don't typically sit down at a football game but I don't know that couple was at the game that I was at and seeing that and then having the experience I had was just very contradictory so I'm not sure if there's like more to the story or if the people behind them were really upset I don't know but yeah Chiefs Arrowhead.
20It was legit. I feel like it's less about the standing and more about the fact that they probably got worn two to three times by security and didn't do it. And then also, even if you're like a little drunk, I feel like if you're like drunk and pushing disorderly, or if you're drunk and not listening to security, they're just going to be like, yeah, we're just not going to play this game with you. So maybe that happened. But it is crazy that you were standing the entire time and like probably a hundred yards away well yeah at least a hundred yards away there was somebody getting kicked out no literally and like my whole section was standing too like they're the lower bowl of the stadium like there was a couple people sitting down but it was very much of like everyone stands up everyone's cheering when the chiefs are especially on the field so even when the lions were on the field too so i don't know it was interesting.
13Yeah, that's super interesting. I do love like a coupling of stadiums. Like Philly has that where they have all of their stadiums in one. Dallas has that. I think those are always super cool, but definitely like different experience, especially in Dallas. If you guys haven't been to Dallas, there's just so much around versus like other stadiums. Lions, Ford Field is like right in the city. And I also love a stadium right in the city. Like Petco Park is right downtown San Diego. So you can always like go to bars and restaurants before. But I've never been to a tailgate like that before. So I will be going to Bill's Stadium for a tailgate November 2nd, which is so exciting.
02So I feel like I'm going to experience some of that like tailgate for tailgate's sake. And I literally can't wait. Yeah, it's like the beautiful thing. Like in college, I feel like it's a big thing because I did it in college. But to have that same experience in the NFL, mind you, like the lot that we went to was a lot that I found on TikTok. And I was like, everyone's like, you have to get a lot, Jay. You have to get a lot, Jay. We go and it's like ran by just fans and like they don't even go to the game. They just park their car and they have fun and everything's free. The food, the drinks, it was free.
34Like you can obviously give money as like tips or to like help support them keep what they do every single weekend. But everything's free. You meet some people. They got a huge cooler. Hey, they just give you. I was amazed. It's like, wow, this is great. I'm so glad you had fun. I guess that's our second game out of the two of us of the season. And then I have news for you. Ooh. Do tell. I'm so excited about this. I'm going to see my queen Carly Irsay Gordon in real life this weekend at the Chargers Colts game. Let's go. That's so exciting. I'm so excited. I don't actually have a ticket to the game yet, but I am going and I'm going to tailgate and I'm going to get some like meet some girls at the tailgate.
27So I'm really excited about that. I'm going to be, if you're a girl with a cute outfit at the Chargers Colts tailgate, don't be shocked if I come up to you and like ask you a few questions and say what's up because you guys know that the Colts are my favorite team besides the Lions to watch. And so I'm really, really excited. It's going to be a great time. The Colts are the girls team. We'll just say that. The Colts are the girls team. That's actually a good segue because the Colts are one of two teams that are 5-1. So the Colts and the Bucs are your only two teams, 5-1. The Colts lost to the Rams.
05That was their only loss. But other than that, they've been putting up really serious points, reminiscent of Lions last year putting up some high scores. So 33 points scored over the Dolphins, 29 points over the Broncos. 41 points scored against the Titans, 40 against the Raiders, and 31 against the Cardinals. So they are putting up some serious points, scoring a lot of touchdowns, which I think is so fun, and obviously contributing to those wins. And then coming up, they have Chargers who are 4-2, so I expect this game to be a pretty good game. We'll kind of see how it shakes out. I think it'll be one of the closer games that they play.
50Titans, who are one in five, we'll talk about them firing Callahan later on, and then they have the Steelers. So their schedule is getting a little bit tougher, at least with the Chargers and the Steelers than it maybe was previously. But overall, they're doing well. So I'm really curious to see how they hold up against the Steelers and the Chargers, who are four and two Chargers and four and one Steelers who are also having a pretty good season. And then the Bucs, I feel like all I'm hearing on social media and in real life is Baker's MVP, Baker's MVP, Baker's MVP. I think it's too early. I think this season is chaos.
28I feel like this season feels more chaotic than last season in the first six games. So I think it's too early. Do I think Baker is crushing it? Yes. Do I think that we can say MVP yet based on everything that's happened? Because is there no one else in the running? Like, no. We have great players on the Colts who are now 5-1 as well. We have, like, the Lions and even the Chiefs are making a comeback. And Josh Allen, like, I think it's too early to say who the MVP is, but that's what I'm hearing is Baker Mayfield's the MVP, which I do love when a team gets riled up. What do you think? Yeah. I don't know.
08Baker is playing really good football. What I'm curious to see is how Baker plays without his essentially star receiver right now. And Emetha Ibuka, we talk about him all the time. He's like one of my third players right now, but he might not play next game. And honestly, if that could be a huge part of Baker's success. It's not a bad thing, but the MVP conversation is kind of one of those things. Like when you look at Lamar Jackson and you see how the Ravens are playing without him, like Lamar single handedly changes that team. Is Baker doing the same thing? He could be. But I'm going to be curious to see what happens without those players and see if he can still figure out ways to get the job done.
52And if he if he can, then I'm solidifying him as MVP. But hey, people are saying Danny Dimes, Daniel Jones is in the running for MVP, too. So I mean, yeah, he has to be. Yeah. How could he not be? It wouldn't make sense for him not to be in the running as well. Yeah. I mean, the Colts do have an easy schedule. And I hate to bring strength of schedule into things, but the Colts schedule is not that crazy when you look at the level of competition. It is not that crazy, but bad teams are beating good teams and Jalen Hurts is losing to the Giants. So is it like, does strength of schedule actually matter this season?
39Like, I'm going to go with less than ever before. Yeah, I would agree with that. Because honestly, teams are like the toss up between like teams are supposed to be good and teams that aren't really good. But I think it comes down to injuries. Like, who knew the Jaguars were going to beat the Chiefs, you know? But the Colts also play the Jaguars like three times. So per usual, we want to thank our sponsor at Cuso Cuts, the best seasonings. They make your food so good, so easy. Flavors are bold. I recently was on a call with their team and they were saying to use one of the habanero lime seasonings as a margarita rim.
25and the amount that I can't tell you how much I'm looking forward to using it on the rim. I never would have thought of that. And so I'll be making margaritas for game day because this is gonna be one of my last game days at home. Probably for a lot of the season, I'll be like elsewhere at games at other people's houses. So now that I'm at my house, I gotta make it. If you wanna try out Cuso Cuts, they are the best seasonings for grilling season. 12:02Okay, you know what I feel like about the injury conversation is? Okay, you know how, like, this is jacked up, but people, okay, you're still on the younger end, so your friends are probably all, like, still pretty fit. But once you start getting older, you start to see, like, who takes care of them versus who doesn't. Like, who takes care of themselves versus who doesn't. And I feel like the injury conversation is like when someone in their 30s is like, well, I'm just so busy I can't take care of myself. And it's like teams are like, well, we just have a lot of injuries, so we just like, you know.
46And it's like, okay. I feel like it's in, like, you're not the, if you get, if you're, if your team gets injured and you can't win, then you're not the best team. I would agree with that statement. And I think that's why the 49ers are kind of surprising everybody because they, like, you would talk about injuries. The 49ers has plenty of them. Like, honestly, they have too many. And I said this last week, they're still finding a way to win games. And that's a lot. I remember you mentioned the comment about the depth chart. Like, it says a lot. It does. It says a lot. It says a lot. Yeah. And I'm like, you know what?
21Excuses suck. And I hate the injury excuse because I'm like, then get a better team. Then hire better players. You have money. Go find someone better. If you're scared of your people going out, which you should be. Like, I don't know why, why, like, all of the, like, analysts and people talking about football aren't talking more about who you need to have on your bench and what backups you need to have. Because every single season, people are like, oh, my God, our star receiver went out. Or like, oh, my God, this guy went out. Our O-line went out. Our D-line. Like, this happens every season. And every single season, people are shocked.
56And it's like, why are you, like, do any deductive reasoning. Literally any deductive reasoning. It's interesting because we talked about this in a couple episodes ago when I was talking about, like, I think teams are really going to start to pay attention more to who's in the backup quarterback position. Like, how many quarterbacks have we seen get hurt? Especially, like, and unfortunately, like, it's not an NFL thing. Like, I hate when the NFL is like, oh, quarterbacks are getting hurt. Let's make more rules. No, that's not football. You're telling me roughing the path. Like, no, I hate that rule.
25It's stupid. Throw it out. but when it comes to these quarterbacks I think there should be more like you have to pay more attention like you can't have a no name nobody's ever heard of them as your third string quarterback and it's like 50 percent of a chance that he's going to get in the game because one and two go out I mean look look at the Browns they had five quarterbacks to go into the season and preseason Now they have two. Like, what? It's actually crazy. Yeah. Or put more time and energy into those quarterbacks. Like, I don't know. Something's off here to me. Something's like one plus one is not equaling two.
06Like one plus one is equaling fish. And. 21. So. Fish is crazy. I think that's like a thing. Two plus two equals fish or something like that. I don't know. I don't know. Maybe.
22I didn't make it up. I can tell you that. I didn't make it up. I have never heard of that. Okay. And then Bucks on, speaking of strength of schedule, they have Lions, Saints, Patriots, who are number one, excuse me, and then the Bills. So if we are talking strength of schedule, that is objectively a harder schedule than the Colts on Chargers, Titans, Steelers. So we will see how the Bucs hold up. But right now they're playing really well. So I would expect them to play fairly well. We'll see how it goes. Four and two teams. There's a ton of them. So Patriots, Bills, Jags, Jags, Eagles, Lions, 49ers, Seahawks, Rams.
07So a lot of teams in that four and two mark. I feel like Patriots, Jags, 49ers, Seahawks, all still surprising to me. and I need to get over it because they're up there and they keep winning. So I should shut up about it. The Patriots one is interesting to me because I remember in a couple episodes where you were like, who are even the Patriots? And I feel like ever since you said that, they have been going off. And people are talking about how Drake May, when you want to talk about MVPs, how Drake May, quarterback for the Patriots, is really stepping into his role and starting to get comfortable.
43And, hey, Stefan Diggs, he's getting going. And when he gets going, he's gone for good. So excited to continue to, like, see this, like, kind of Cinderella story unfold in New England. Because obviously historically a really good franchise. But I'm kind of excited for them. Not going to lie. Yeah. I agree. I was not a fan during Patriots' whole situation. I don't know that I need to see another Patriots dynasty moment, to be honest. Sorry, Patriots girls and guys. I don't know that I need to see that, but I do like a team that I wasn't expecting to like watching. I do like that I get to watch another team that I wasn't expecting.
29So that's fun. And the Jags, Tim Patrick did score this weekend. If you guys don't know, I have a crush on Tim Patrick. Tim Patrick, if you're listening, you can call me. The way I saw the play and I texted Victoria immediately. I said, does he just score a touch on? I had a moment this weekend. Literally right after you texted me. So let's set the scene. I went to a wedding. One of my great friends, my little from college, her wedding over the weekend. And I was ill the next day. I'm laying in bed. I have football on in the background, so it's going into my subconscious, you know, not my conscious, my subconscious.
12Do you want to text me? Tim Patrick just scored a touchdown. I go on to Instagram. I pull up Tim Patrick's Instagram. Woke you up real quick. I hit the DMs. You did not. Then I thought, I can't be weird because one day I want to interview Tim and I don't want him to be like, which is the girl that DM me? I don't want him to look me up and then be like, that's so embarrassing for you. I need him to like either DM me or we need to like run into each other somehow or like I can interview him. Fair. At least I can't reach out. So we need to go to a game. So we have to go to a game ASAP. Is he not married?
00No, he's single. He's unconfirmed. Okay. I don't attempt to even consider any men in a committed relationship. Like, if you're committed, I'm out. It's a no from me. I'm talking about you and your football, but I'm not talking about DMing you. I'm not playing that game. We just don't play that game here, all right? But Tim Patrick, no confirmed girlfriend. Let's look it up right now. That's what I was actually looking at. He's literally perfect for you, though. No public information available about the girlfriend of NFL player Tim Patrick. And if you didn't know, Tim Patrick is from San Diego.
39I live in San Diego. Tim Patrick likes the NFL. I like the NFL. So basically... This is why you should be a Jacksonville fan. Duval. Wait, I have to make a confession. I have no idea what Duval is. So it's like Jacksonville plays in Duval County. Oh, okay. And didn't a coach like said Duval one time? Yeah, Liam Cohen. He's like, he's a first year head coach in the situation. So he goes on a press conference. This girlies, you want to talk about like preseason NFL action is always so funny. This man goes on a press conference and saying like Duval like that is like a thing that they do. Like it's like a chant.
20It's like gets the guys all hyped up, like all testosterone is like pumping. Yeah, just. Victoria is showing her guns currently as I'm speaking. That's a pretty good bicep. No, that's impressive. We're clipping this. Anyways, so yeah, Liam Come on a press conference was like, Duval. And everyone clicked him after that. Because they're like, why are you saying it like that? It's supposed to be like, Duval. like a very you know it's just it was just and like the vol was held out so wait why am i imagining like one of the whales and oh what's the movie where it says don't touch the butt oh nemo yeah isn't there like whales in there that like they go like oh yeah i don't know yeah Yeah.
15Okay, maybe I'll stitch that together. Anyway, we've lost the plot. Anyways, Jacksonville Jaguars, shout out to y 'all. Y 'all are surprising us right now. And the Patriots. Good job, guys. Great job, guys. Okay, three and three teams. I don't think we expected any of these to be three and three. Commanders, Panthers, Chiefs. You guys know I've been talking up the Panthers. I think the Panthers are better than anybody gives them credit for. And now I have proof. commanders kind of sucking bummer chiefs one over the lions i'm not saying anything good about the chiefs yet hey they get rishi back they get rishi back about them they do they do that's actually one of my top five moments so i was trying to avoid it my bad that's okay they do they do get him back this week which is exciting we've just been kind of yapping and recapping but to go into an official yap and recap, a.k.a.
11our segment where we talk about whatever we want, because that's what we do on this show. I was explaining to my uncle who played football in college what our show was, and he's like, what are you going to teach me about the NFL that I don't know? And I was like, oh, my bad. Listen, it's like your audience. I was like, maybe nothing, but we're just here to like chat and have fun and like talk about things that the analysts aren't talking about. Your uncle can learn about how Josh Allen's dating Hailey Steinfeld. Like, there's some valuable information that he won't know. Yeah. I think I'm going to interview him, by the way, which will be super fun.
54So stay tuned. Stay tuned. Stay tuned. Okay. Speaking of, though, the Panthers, actually. The Panthers were looking like my childhood soccer team in their uniforms. like the all blues look tell me they don't look like like little league soccer you got to look it up no i watched the game i'm just like thinking about the parallel yes i can see where you're coming from it gives like innocence it does it's like very yeah like very like we'll say useful yes yeah very useful yeah okay bangles versus steelers this weekend the oldies are taking the field i think this is like the second time in history where there's like two quarterbacks that are this old, which at this point, I know I call them the daddies, but I'm kind of over talking about the age at this point.
43Like they're playing. Steelers are winning. Joe Flacco is getting traded. They're old, but they're not that old. My dating app is literally set to 41. So like I don't care anymore. Are you good or are you not? I don't care how old you are. It's like when when a young person becomes a CEO, it's like, oh, they're so young or like, oh, 30 under 30. But like Martha Stewart didn't get famous till her 50s. Like so many companies start when people are older. And yeah, this is like athleticism. But there's so many people that are above 33, 34, 35 in the NFL that I'm bored of the storyline. I like the mentality of like if you can still play at a high caliber level that the NFL requires from you.
25I don't care how old you are. I don't care what you got in your, you know, like go play. Football is football. Football is football. If you're good, you're good, and we don't care how old you are. Nope. Bears win on Sunday night. And you know what we do not talk about enough slash the NFL doesn't talk about enough that drives me nuts? Simone Biles. Why are we not talking about her? Why is she not on every effing screen? Simone Biles is probably the best athlete in the world in any sport. And I might be biased because I was a gymnast. But you do a triple twisting double back flip. You compete skills that men don't compete as a female athlete.
11Why is she not on the screen? Why do I not see her outfit every week? I need more of it. So NFL, put Simone on the screen because she's a queen. And honestly, put Simone on. Literally. Put Simone on. But what I do think is actually impactful about having Simone on the screen is that there is a majority of black players in the NFL. And that means that there are a lot of children, like black children, boys and girls, who are watching the screen. And if the only thing that we're seeing is Taylor, which I love Taylor, and I want Taylor to be on screen and I want to see it and I want to hear it and I want to talk about it.
00However, the representation of like black women as impactful people to this sport, but also other sports does matter. So. She deserves to be on the screen no matter what the color of her skin is, but I think that it's also a good representation for like little girls to see themselves on the screen. and so no matter what she should be on but also I think there's like an another positive impact there that can be had to like continue to empower young women which is also exactly what we're trying to do on the show yeah which is interesting because I there's a stat line I forgot the exact number but I think this year in the NFL is the highest number of starting black quarterbacks we've seen in a really long time but like you don't you don't hear those things and then also like talking about like the head coaches which is why I love Aaron Glenn so much and we're going to talk a little bit about the Jets and now they're in a tough spot right now but that's why I like Aaron Glenn so much that's why I love Mike Tomlin is because like they're in these head coaching roles and like unfortunate reality is they do get scrutinized in my opinion a little more because they're a black head coach so to your point representation absolutely matters And I'm hoping that the NFL and people continue to take strides to like showing people highlighting voices that matter and all that kind of stuff.
29So really good point. And that's our like sentimental. Yeah. Point of the episode. Our sentimental note. Also, last note, Simone Biles is a huge mental health advocate, which we were talking a little bit last week in the anger management case that mental health does really matter. And Simone Biles is one of the biggest mental health advocates based on her performance at the Olympics and her documentary, which you haven't seen it on Netflix. You should watch it. Simone Biles Rising, I believe, is what it's called. And it's so powerful. And so why are we not putting one of the most powerful women in the world, one of the most authentic women in the world on the screen?
11I don't know. Get her on. Get her on. And also Bears keep doing well because the better that the Bears do, also the more Simone will be on the screen, which is what I want. Yeah, I think her husband actually made it for the Packers last season and is now on the Bears. But this Bears-Commanders game was interesting for me because last year when Jaden Daniels and Caleb Williams played together, mind you, Jaden Daniels, quarterback for the Commanders, Caleb Williams, quarterback for the Bears. Caleb Williams was picked first overall. Jaden was picked second overall in the same draft year. So these quarterbacks, like when they go against each other, it's like a very interesting thing.
48Last year, Commanders-Bears game ended in a Jaden Daniels Hail Mary to win the game. So Jane Daniels throws the ball, bounces off the hands of a receiver, commanders score, touchdown. This game, obviously the Bears won by one point. So another really exciting game. I'm pretty sure the deciding factor was an extra point or a focal, if I'm not mistaken. But I love, yeah, I always love this matchup. This matchup is going to be elite for the next so-on-so years because of the quarterback situation. So as long as they stay there, which they should. I don't know if this is true, but I feel like they have like a mutual respect for each other, which I really like.

27Like, I feel like it's cute. I like watching two QBs who are the same age going through a lot of the same things going against you. That's such a fun storyline. Speaking of quarterbacks, so you could have said this earlier, but I have a note in here that says, are good quarterbacks band-aids for bad teams? Because you were talking about Baker Mayfield. Yeah. Which I feel like kind of pushes into that. But Joe Burrow, the Bengals suck now.
08I was talking to a new friend today and we were talking about the podcast and I mentioned that we had a sponsor and she said, who's your sponsor? And I said, it's Kuso Cuts. It's this great seasoning company. And she said, oh, my gosh, Kuso's? wait, I know them. I love them. And I was like, right? That's crazy that you use them. You should use the code, the game at checkout for 10 % off. But we were just talking about how bold the flavors are. She was saying how easy it is to use because all of their blends are so well made. So it's just so easy to throw on to literally anything that you're cooking.
43It's perfect for tailgate season because you don't have to carry a lot to pack a big punch. So if you want to check out Kuso's for yourself. It's all natural ingredients. It's super clean. It is so delicious. The flavors are bold and the company is fantastic. You will not regret it. Use the game at checkout at kusocuts.com. Thank you, Kusos, for supporting us. We love you.
10Well, okay. The Joe Burrow thing is like, I don't know if I can put that in the same category because Joe Burrow has a trash offensive line. They do not protect the quarterback how they should. And I think that plays into why the Bengals are in this position that they are. They have talented receivers. I talked about this last week. They have a talented receiver core. Chase Brown, he's had a down year, but I'm not giving out hope on him yet. Running back for the Bengals, I think he's also talented. So Joe Burrow thing and the Bengals, I don't know if I can put that into the category. I would put the Ravens and Lamar Jackson into that category.
47because they haven't figured it out. Yeah, but I feel like it's still kind of the same thing because you're saying they have a bad offensive line and Joe Burrow is a band-aid for the bad offensive line. Okay, fair. Yeah. So I feel like we're on the same page. The Bengals, yes, but the Bengals and the Ravens team. Well, like, it's this night and day. Like, the Ravens, oh my, it's night and day. I would rather have the Bengals trash a line and the talent that they have then go to the Ravens and play. Like, no wonder Lamar Jackson's won MVP twice, maybe, like, even three times, because he's like, what can you do?
26And that's for real. And, like, Derek Henry can only do so much as one other guy on that team. You see how Saquon is doing with Jalen Hurts right now? Like, it can't just be the quarterback or running back duo. Like, your team, it's truly a team sport. Everyone has to do their job. You're right. Everyone has to do their job. I just feel like sometimes teams slap a quarterback on. And then like we were talking about before, wow, everything's coming really full circle today. Like we were talking about before, if you don't have somebody good in the backup, but also if your team isn't ready to receive from a backup, you're toast.
01Yeah. You're toast. Yeah. Yeah. So I think the conversation will be sparked kind of next season. We'll hear a lot of this conversation of who is on the bench, who is the backup, where are they coming from? How are we training up backups? Because isn't it like there's been multiple situations where like number one picks have been on the bench for multiple years, right? But it's similar to like Anthony Richardson. Like Anthony Richardson plays on the Colts. He's actually funny because he got injured in warmups before the game. But Anthony Richardson was the future of the Colts. But they bring in, they had Joe Flacco last year, and then they bring in Daniel Jones from the Giants, who had a trash season with the Giants, and Anthony Richardson still isn't playing.
41But he's like their future. He's the younger guy on the block. Like, they drafted him to be their future, and he's just not. He's just not. I have a new football ick. Uh-oh. Okay. Tell me. If you get a turnover, like if you get an interception or someone fumbles and your team doesn't score on that turnover, ick. What's the point of getting the ball if you can't fucking score? What if it's like a 300-pound guy and, like, if he knows about me, like, I love seeing this. But, like, what if they just can't run? No, you don't have to score right away. It doesn't have to be a pick six every time. Oh, oh, oh, oh, okay, okay.
15Yeah. If it is a pick six, hot. But, like, if you turn over and go three and out, embarrassing for you. Yeah. Yeah, I would agree on that. Who did that? Somebody, the team did that this weekend. Yeah, I was watching recaps and it's like picked off and then nothing happens. The team still loses. I'm like, if you have more than three picks in a game and you don't win, you suck. Like it's when Jared Goff last year got picked off five times in one game and the Lions still won. They should not have won that game. Yeah, I would agree with that. The boy band loses. Jared Goff, Lions quarterback, loses to the Chiefs.
00Josh Allen, quarterback for the Bills, loses to the New York Giants, Jackson Dart. That game was crazy. Jackson Dart goes out with possible concussion, goes into the blue tent, and there are people trying to go into the tent. Like multiple players, a coach tries to go into the freaking blue tent, and then the announcers are saying like, Jackson Dart is looking out the little thing. Everyone's booing. oh my god who's absolute chaos yeah yeah russell wilson goes in for a play throws a terrible ball and then everyone's like booing russell and i'm like russell can't get a break i know poor russell no i feel so bad for him like he got benched after like one of his best games in his career and he goes in for one one play throws it was a bad ball i will say there was a bad ball gets booed the nfl is actually reviewing this i don't know if you know this uh they are saying they're going to review the concussion protocol by the giants because jackson dart did not spend well it's like a suspect like it's success right now of if they actually went through the the concussion protocol because you know the nfl has a very serious stance on this brian dayball head coach of the giants went in the tent and was like we got to get jacks back on the field after russell threw the ball because jackson you gotta go you gotta you gotta go back out there big boy and so that's like why that whole situation went down but man man oh man oh man big blue 44 cam scatavoo i'm a fan that's like my new favorite like this guy is unhinged like that's honestly that's an understatement he's unhinged and i freaking love it i love it love it so much Also found out, found his girlfriend on Instagram, and she's so cute.
53And so I pray for her every day. Oh, that's cute. I'm sure she's having a time right now because he got famous in one day. Well, if you watch college, you know who Cam is because Cam had his final game of a season, had like a really, really, he carried his team. He went to Arizona State to carry that team. but he's gone viral before for like hitting his head against the wall before practice just he screams all the time i freaking i love it i love it i need a jersey it's just it's hilarious he's crazy i think we're in the best way possible like i'm like tim patrick such a sweetie guy i love him you're like Cam Scadaboo hitting us out against the wall.
40I'm upset. It is pure cinema. You're telling me this man's like, he's amazing. I would watch. It's so funny. Oh, love it. Cam Scadaboo is on a four-year$5.27 million rookie contract after being drafted 105th overall in the fourth round of the 2025 draft, a$1.1 million signing bonus and guarantees$1.07 million. His salary apparently will increase each year, starting at$840K and rising to$1.2 million. So Cam Scadaboo, he's got some money in his pocket and some fire, I guess, going on. He's an interesting watch. I'm excited. Something going on. I like the Jackson Dart, Cam Scadaboo storyline coupling.
36Like we've seen this before with other quarterback running backs or quarterback wide receivers. And I like a coupling. I think it's really fun to cheer on not just like one guy, but like two guys. It's similar like Sonic and Knuckles on the Lions, David Montgomery and Jameer Gibbs. So I think it's so fun. And I can't wait to like watch more and see how they go and watch them on social media. And yeah, the chaos. I think it's like the fact that they're like both rookies and like they're coming in like they were both not really the main guy coming into the season. And now they're both kind of the main guy.
14It's just like a beautiful storyline. Now, like, am I still suspect on the Giants? Yes. Do I think this is going to last long? Unfortunately, no. But when you think about the Giants going against the Lions, like, who's the clear winner? I think the Giants can put up a good fight. Beat the Eagles. Okay, but the Eagles are trash right now. Like, I don't think that's a really good, like, measuring stick. It's not a good barometer. No, it's not. Like, until they play, like, the Bucks or until they play the Lions, then I'll be like, okay, we'll see. But I love them. Don't get me wrong. I love them.
52Yeah, we'll be watching them. Even if they lose, we'll be watching. Our eyes will be there. We'll be seeing what's up. We're clocking it. The Giants have, oh my gosh, interesting. They have Broncos, then Eagles again, then 49ers, then Bears, then Packers, then Lions, then Patriots, then Commanders. Whoa! They got some stuff coming. Yeah, we talked about this during the preseason. they have one of the hardest schedules in the NFL. And, I mean, obviously the Eagles matchup is like a divisional rivalry for them. So, like, yes, they're going to play them twice as well as the Commanders. But Broncos, I know they had kind of an off game this past week, but the Broncos have a decent defense.
43The Packers have a really good defense. Like, all those teams have – it's going to be hard. It's going to be really hard. But I could also see it like being another, like you said, like Cinderella story. Like, this is something that could go down in history because our other team is going to say, like, we're not worried about them. They're young. This is a fluke. And then lose to them. Because nobody saw the Colts coming and no one saw these two people who are not the main guy. And all I'm hearing in my head right now is, let's keep the main thing the main thing. What's that from? Like The Bachelor or something?
18No, I think so. But yeah, no, I agree. I agree with everything you said, because how do you game plan against Jackson Dart and Cam Scadaboo when they're rookies and you've never seen them play? Right. Like you don't have enough information, which is so exciting. I love it. Which is working. It's yeah, it's working in the Giants favor. Shout out to Brian Dable. Your job might have just got saved because you were going to be on the chopping block next. Yeah, literally. And I think that if the Giants beat the Eagles again, that confidence boost and just like affirmation of belief in themselves will be, if they beat the Eagles again, which it's crazy that it's two weeks apart, that I will be in for that game.
04Like I will be locked in for Giants-Eagles Sunday, October 26th at 10 a.m. Is it in Philly? Should I go to that game? No, I was going to, where is it? Is it in Philly or is it in New York? In Philly. You know, I can get down with it. I mean, like, I could buy a flight. I mean, like, American, like, airlines right now? Sponsor us, please. Yeah, literally. That's my dream. Okay, we'll work on that. Anyway, speaking of coaches getting fired because, you know, yeah, Giants were on the chopping block probably in the head coach department. So Titans coach Brian Callahan fired. Titans are 1-5. Really no shock there.
48Brian Callahan started at UCLA, went to a couple teams, was a quarterback coach, then went to the Bengals from 2019 to 2023 as the offensive coordinator and was brought in to work with Joe Burrow. And I do think that it's kind of ironic that Joe Burrow stopped playing on the Bengals and the Bengals are struggling. So was it Brian Callahan being a great coach or is it Joe Burrow being a star? And I think it's the latter. It does seem sad, though, because I think Brian Callahan is going to have a very hard time finding another job. Last year, Titans went 3-14, and then he was fired after their 1-5 start.
33So he's out. No one's surprised. Interim coach Mike McCoy. We'll see how long it takes them to hire someone and who the heck they're going to hire. I don't know. Unless Mike McCoy is like a Hail Mary for them and he starts coaching some great football, I expect them to have a new head coach within a couple of weeks. I don't foresee them going too long without one. But they needed a change. I'm glad they did it. Like in-season head coach firings are like the best thing ever. It's literally the best thing ever. It's like when you're watching your favorite reality TV show or your soap opera, and it hits the pinnacle of drama.
13Yeah. I'm still—you want to talk about the Bengals—I'm still looking at Zach Taylor. I think his job is in jeopardy. Maybe Dave Canales. We talked about this offline a little bit. The Panthers, they're turning it around, though, so we'll see. The Panthers are turning it around. But my main head coach that I'm looking at to get fired, Mike McDaniel, Donald, Daniel. I've already figured his last name. But Miami's head coach, it's time for you to go, buddy. Pack your bags. Tua doesn't believe in you. Tyra Keel doesn't believe in you. Jalen Waddle can't catch a ball for the day of his life. So, yeah, Mike, it's time to go.
52I saw a TikTok or an Instagram of him and his feet are like one of his feet is like up on his other feet wearing like night white Nikes and his foot is like popped up. And it's like something like referring to him like being a girly pop or like a twinkle toes or a ballerina or something. And I thought that was so funny. I do think that. Yeah, I mean, he's a great he has a great mind for football because he was an offensive coordinator. before I think got his head coaching job. I don't remember what team, but he was a really good offensive coordinator, which is why he got the head coaching job.
30I just think it's a culture thing over there. I don't think, like I said, I don't think guys respect him enough to be a head coach. And like that comes with the territory of the job. So it's not like it. Yeah, and I think it's like a compatibility thing. Like you said, like a culture thing or like a compatibility fit. Like sometimes there are great people that just don't work together. It's like why breakups happen all the time. it's why people who love each other very much like don't work out like sometimes it just like the communication or the respect where it needs to be or the expectations can't match up and sometimes that's just the way it goes and I feel like that's what we're seeing over there is like something is just not matching up and like we don't know what it is specifically but it seems like a change would be a change should be in order yeah so i agree here's a interesting stat for you though so i might have to start doing like a stat of the day but the last four quarterbacks that i've been taking at the number one overall pick they've seen a head coach fired in their rookie campaign season so obviously with the titans firing this head coach brian callahan cam ward in his rookie season.
42In 2021, Trevor Lawrence, he was a rookie. His head coach got fired. 2023, Bryce Young, when he gets drafted to the Panthers, head coach gets fired. And then obviously last year, we'll talk about a little bit before, Caleb Williams, he had his head coach get fired, which is why Ben Johnson, previously on the Alliance, the head coach of the Bears. So kind of a spooky stat line when you think for these rookie quarterbacks coming into their first season and in six weeks, your whole life gets turned upside down because you don't have your head coach anymore. Well, it's I think it begs the same question that I asked earlier, which is do teams use quarterbacks as band-aids for other issues on the team?
26And this kind of points to yes, that teams think that one guy can do, can fix a franchise. And it's just not. Unfortunately, it's not how it works. Like Brooklyn was saying, you have to be good on your own before you bring someone else in if you want to be really good together. Yeah. Yeah. So I think, yeah, teams think that the quarterback is, I mean, he is the guy, but he can't be the only guy. So really interesting. I think it's crazy for those quarterbacks who come in as rookies and everything changes I mean I think it builds resilience in some capacity but just like not knowing who you're gonna get is stressful so you gotta learn a whole new system now like the playbook's different the coaching's different practices look workouts look different like and you're a rookie like you're trying to figure out how to play in the NFL like that that's why I always get your first big hit on the field and you're all like you're getting sacked for the first time and your entire organization is up in the air.
36In shambles. Like, that's why I would give those guys so much credit because the things that they have to mentally go through, it's insane. Yeah. Yeah. It's wild. I love that stat. So thanks for bringing it to the party. Okay. We have a couple minutes left. I want to do top five stories on and off the field, but let's go speed round. So I'll read them. And then Giovanna, you want to chime in whenever you feel like it. So first one that I have is Titans coach fired. We just talked about that. Brian Callahan gone. Brian Branch, Lions safety is suspended. He got a cheap shot from a Chiefs player in the game.
23Then after the game, he didn't shake Patrick Mahomes' hand and went and punched James Smith-Schuster. Why do I always mention that? Yeah. Oh, Juju Smith-Schuster. Yeah. Yeah. Juju Smith-Schuster. Like, literally just punches him in the face. He's wearing his helmet. But it was a straight punch. Gets into a brawl. He is now suspended. He is appealing the suspension, which is honestly ridiculous. The Lions play the Bucs on my birthday, October 20th. They definitely need Brian Branch in for that, but Brian Branch has been known to get in some scuffles. Dan Campbell was disappointed. Jared Goff, disappointed.
02Like, everyone is disappointed. He gets suspended, which he deserves. However, this fired me the hell up because why is the entire world talking about Brian Branch and how this suspension is so necessary, but when we see a coach hitting a player, there is no suspension? He got fined, though. Not enough for me. Not enough for me. If we're going to keep players accountable, we need to keep coaches accountable, and I'm going to die on that hill. Okay, so he's appealing. He's not going to get it. No freaking way. The Chiefs waive Jason Brownlee because Rashi Rice is back. Rashi Rice, wide receiver.
49We talked about him a bunch on this show. If you're new to our show, Rashi Rice got suspended for the first games of the season because he had a charge where he crashed a car, fled the scene. It's a whole situation. He also has to serve jail time, but his suspension for the league is up. Number four, the NFC West is super hot in competition. So 49ers, Seahawks and Rams all four and two. So the fight for that division is a fight. So super exciting to watch all of those teams and kind of see what happens. Honestly, it could go any way in my eyes. I think the 49ers are playing a little bit better than the Seahawks and Rams, but that might be a hot take.
34What do you think? I don't know. The Rams are good. And they're primarily good because they have Puka Nakua, who is probably the best receiver that we've seen this season. He has been going crazy. He's a really good player. So I don't know. The Rams are like my team out of that division if I had to pick one. Okay. Yeah. And Matt Stafford, the quarterback for the Rams, has the most passing yards of anybody throughout the season. So he's at over 1 ,600 passing yards, top passing yards in the league. Mind you, half of those passing yards are because he's throwing to the best receiver in the league too.
16Yes. Didn't Puka Nakua get hurt this weekend? He did get hurt, yes. Yeah. So I think the jury's still out on what that injury looks like and if he's coming back next week. Yeah, yeah. I read a headline this morning that's like, Dodge's season-ending injury, so. It's always good to hear, but it's still tough. For Rams fans, at least. Yeah. Really tough. Really tough. Because he's also such a fun watch. You know, it's not only that he's good, he's a fun watch. He's kind of spunky. Yeah, Spunky. Yeah, she seems like a character, like a great guy. And then my final story is Kristen Juszczyk. Her plus one is Kyle Juszczyk on the 49ers, speaking of.
00She has a clothing line with the NFL called Offseason. I've worn a bunch of her stuff. If you look at my Instagram, like, I'm wearing her stuff all the time. She just launched a collection with the NBA. So congrats to Kristen. She's built an empire on creating cute clothes for women in the NFL. She's dressed Taylor. She's dressed Simone. She's dressed tons of the WAGs. And now she's with the NBA as well, which is super exciting. So congrats to her on expanding female business. Her business partner is also one of the on the team for Skims and other super large brands. So really cool to watch them expand and see women in business growing and getting more into the sports world, which is exactly what we're trying to do.
48So I think that's all we have. Anything else that you have? No, I don't think so. Top fives are always fun top fives. I will say, I did see that Brian Branch thing live. And we initially thought it was two Chiefs fans. We thought it was two Chiefs fighting. Because from our angle, it looked like, because Brian Branch hit Juju. And then I think Isaiah Pacheco was holding Brian Branch. and it looked like from our angle it was like pacheco and juju but it was not the case obviously it was kind of like a it was chilling almost because it was the game no nobody could do anything it wasn't a flag because the game was over so yeah but i also think brian branch realized because as soon as he hit juju red jersey red jersey he was in a sea of red jerseys yeah there There was not one Lions teammate over to help the guy out.
43It was just red. You're like, this is 53 on one. And the Lions players are like, oh my. It's like when your friend gets in too many bar fights. I don't have friends that get in bar fights. But like, I have seen friend groups where there's that guy. And sometimes the friends are like, we're just over it. And I feel like that's how the Lions were. They're like, we're just, we're not doing this. Well, that's why I was surprised what Dan Campbell said. Because I was like, wow. Like, it wasn't harsh. But when Dan Campbell was like, yeah, that's unacceptable. I don't, I'm disappointed. Like, that's like your mom saying, I'm not mad.
20I'm disappointed. And you're like, oh, dang. Like, you know, you kind of missed. Like, it was bad. That is bad. Yeah, like someone that you care about being disappointed in you, like, pain. Straight pain. Yeah. I can't believe you saw that in real life. It's wild. Absolutely wild. I know. It was a good game and I got to fight. Okay, but the Chiefs had zero penalties. Okay, honestly, I'm actually kind of glad we're talking about this. Honestly, as a person that's not a Chiefs fan, so I'm not biased, and I saw the game live. That game particularly, I did not see anything wrong with the penalties.
04Have there been games in the past where I do agree with the majority of like, yes, sometimes things go in the Chiefs direction? Yes. But this game specifically, I didn't see anything wrong with it. It looked pretty clean to me. The Lions, I only think, had like four penalties for like 35 yards, if I'm not mistaken. So I think it was a pretty clean game. Okay. Okay. I mean, you watched it live. I. OK, I just looked it up, though. How many NFL games have zero penalties? And this is chat GPT. And remember, chat GPT can have errors. And honestly, every time that I've used chat GPT for NFL stats, I have to fact check them like very heavily because for whatever reason, chat GPT and the NFL are not friends, both made by men, though.
54So I'm very confused. But no game has ever been played with zero penalties on either team. 40 games since 2000. So 40 games in the last 25 years where a single team finished with zero accepted penalties. The last one, Seattle Seahawks and Las Vegas Raiders. There's an example. I don't know if it's the most recent one, but January 7th, 2024, zero penalties on either team. Super interesting. It is very interesting. Yeah, the Lions had four penalties for 38 yards, which is not that much in the grand scheme of things. Yeah, so a clean game overall, and I think that's probably by the coaches. I think both of the coaches said, listen, this game is going to be a good game.
40This matters for both of us. We have to make it clean. Like, I'm sure that it came from the top that said, do not pull anything because it's not going to go well for you. And then we had the biggest pull of all time with Brian Brent just straight socking. Yeah, he held that one in until the end of the whistle, so he knew you wouldn't get a penalty for it. But when you think about it, you also have just like really good players on each team that know how to play football, know how to not get caught, know how to, you know, not have the holding calls, not have the lining up offsides, like the stupid things.
11So there's that too. Yeah, like are the Chiefs on penalties, the Eagles with the tush push, they just know how to make it happen without getting called on? Yes. Yeah, realistically, yes. Are they just better at towing the line? Maybe. People say it's cheating. I think it is kind of cheating. But when you're getting there with it, don't hate the player, hate the game. Yeah. What's the line if you ain't cheating, you ain't trying? I don't believe in that, but. I don't personally abide by that type of life policy. yeah that's not for me if you are cheating you are a cheater and we can't be together on that note on that note thanks thanks for watching thanks for listening that's my life thanks for watching not speaking from experience oh my gosh well watch out for our social media this weekend when I'm interviewing girls at the Chargers.

Week six felt unhinged—in the best way. We open in the parking lot at Arrowhead, where the roar starts hours before kickoff and never sits down. That college-like chaos becomes a lens for the week: why some stadiums compress energy into one electric bowl and others diffuse it into districts of bars, hotels, and options. Culture affects outcomes, and it shows up in how fans stand, how players respond, and how pressure becomes part of the play clock.
We dive into the Colts and Bucs sitting at five-and-one, sorting real substance from soft schedules. Baker Mayfield is cooking, but MVP crowns in October ignore the churn of injuries, opponents that punch back, and the way smarter defenses adjust by Halloween. The Colts’ scoring sprees evoke last year’s Lions, and the upcoming Chargers and Steelers tests should reveal whether this surge is flash or foundation. Along the way, we ask a harder question: do some franchises treat an elite quarterback as a band-aid for deeper flaws? The Bengals’ line issues, the Ravens’ dependence on Lamar’s brilliance, and the league-wide neglect of backup QB development all point to the same truth—depth wins.
We also pull the camera wider. Simone Biles deserves more than a sideline cameo; representation isn’t garnish, it’s part of the main course. Highlighting a generational Black woman athlete—and a vocal mental health advocate—expands who feels seen and who believes they belong in sports. On-field, the Bears–Commanders rivalry delivers another tight chapter, with young quarterbacks building a story that will only grow. Off-field, coaching hot seats and midseason firings reset playbooks and identities, often for rookies who just learned the last system. And in the NFC West, where the 49ers, Seahawks, and Rams trade blows, small edges like red-zone execution and turnover conversion separate contenders from almosts. We even celebrate Kristin Juszczyk taking women-first game-day style from the NFL to the NBA—proof that sports culture is bigger than the box score.
Come for the tailgate tales, stay for the strategy, and leave with a sharper lens on what actually wins in the NFL: depth, discipline, and decisions that match your identity. If you’re into smart football talk with heart—and a few hot takes—hit follow, share with a friend, and drop your MVP pick in a review. Who’s your frontrunner right now, and what would change your mind?
