In short
How to increase podcast visibility on Apple and Spotify so dream clients click and listen, focusing on cover art, episode titles, and show notes (plus a brief recap of podcast SEO parts: discoverability, visibility, user engagement, high relevance).
Guest backgrounds
No guests. Host Tony (a “robot” persona) explains the episode; founders Tighe and Anthony are referenced as GetMoreListeners.com creators.
Key claims
People judge “books by their covers,” so unprofessional packaging reduces perceived value and clicks. Episode titles should be specific, intriguing, or polarizing. Show notes should sell the listen using AIDA (Attention, Interest, Desire, Action), not ramble about credentials.
Notable examples
“Episode 47, Interview with Sarah” vs “How Sarah went from burnout to $50,000 months in six months”; title examples like “three gut health mistakes…” and “stop journaling… it’s making your anxiety worse.”

Welcome to How to Grow a Podcast that attracts high-ticket online coaching clients. The show helping coaches, consultants, and experts turn your slow-growth podcast into a profitable client attraction system. At the end of this episode, I'll share a little more about who I am and what we do at my company, GetMoreListeners.com. It might even shock you. But for now, let's dive into the episode. In this episode, you'll discover how to increase your visibility on Apple and Spotify. The three things you need to focus on to get clicked on and listened to over your competition.
0:45And how to take advantage of the fact that people do judge books by their covers to fast-track your podcast growth. In the last episode, we talked about discoverability. How to rank for the right keywords so your ideal clients can find your show. Today, we're focusing on visibility, because it's one thing to rank for the right terms, and it's another thing entirely to get clicked on over your competitors. Let's dive in. Before we go deeper, here's a quick recap of the four parts you need to optimize for podcast SEO. Discoverability. Having the right keywords in your titles so you rank for what your ideal clients are searching for.
1:21Visibility. Being seen and clicked on over competitors. Today's focus. User engagement. Getting high retention rates so Apple and Spotify recommend your show to more people. High relevance. Dominating your niche and building authority so you consistently rank at the top. Today is all about visibility. Because if your podcast isn't being clicked on, it doesn't matter how well you rank. At this point, if you've listened to the last couple episodes, you should have your discoverability in check. You're ranking for the right terms. Your ideal clients are seeing your show in search results. But here's the problem.
1:57There are hundreds, if not thousands, of other podcasts competing for the same keywords you're targeting. So how do you make sure your podcast gets clicked on instead of theirs? First impressions matter. When it comes to visibility, you need to make your podcast aesthetically pleasing and attractive to new listeners. This is where the marketing begins. You're no longer just being discovered. Now, you need to sell the click and sell the listen to potential clients who just found your show. The three main things you need to focus on are your cover art, your episode titles, your show notes. These elements play a crucial role in grabbing attention and enticing people to click and listen.
2:37Let's break each one down. The harsh truth. People judge books by their covers. It's human nature. It happens. Every day. If something looks unprofessional, we assume it is unprofessional. If something looks amazing, we assume it's high quality. Whether it's fair or not doesn't matter. Perceived value is everything. You could have the best podcast content in the world, objectively 10 times better than everyone else in your niche. But if the perceived value of your show is lower than your competitors, you won't gain traction. People won't pay attention. So how do you communicate the value of your podcast?
3:15How do you package your show in a way that's attractive, high value, and irresistible to your ideal clients? The first thing potential listeners see is your cover art. If it looks homemade, cheap, or unprofessional, you're going to repel people instantly. Here's the reality. You're competing against coaches and experts who have huge budgets. People who are spending thousands on professional branding and marketing. If your cover art looks like it was made on Canva in 10 minutes, it's not going to cut it. You need a cover that accurately represents your brand, looks highly professional, clearly communicates high value, stands out in a crowded feed.
3:54Think of it like walking into a high-end restaurant versus a fast food joint. The environment immediately sets expectations. Your cover art does the same thing. If you made your own cover art, my assumption is it probably needs an upgrade. Remember, your packaging needs to appeal to new listeners, not your current ones. What to do. Invest in professional design. Platforms like 99designs run design contests where multiple designers submit concepts and you pick the best one. This ensures you're getting quality work that stands out. Now we have your episode titles. Your episode titles need to grab attention and convince people to click.
4:33Bland, boring, generic titles get ignored. There are three types of titles that work incredibly well. 1. Highly specific. Be crystal clear about what the listener will get. Example, how to sign your first$10 ,000 principle in 30 days without paid ads. Or, for a health coach, three gut health mistakes busy professionals make and how to fix them. Specificity builds trust. It tells the listener exactly what they're going to learn. 2. Highly Intriguing Build curiosity. Make them need to know what you're talking about. Example, the secret strategy top coaches use to fill their calendar that no one talks about.
5:20Or, for a parenting coach, the one phrase that stops tantrums instantly, backed by science. Intrigue creates a knowledge gap. They have to click to find out. 3. Shocking or polarizing. Evoke emotion. Call out a pain point or challenge a common belief. Example, why your podcast isn't bringing you clients and it's not your fault. Or, for a mindset coach, stop journaling. It's making your anxiety worse. Polarizing titles get attention because they make people feel something. They challenge assumptions and demand a response. If your episode titles are bland, boring, generic, or fluffy, you're going to struggle.
6:11Bad example. Episode 47, Interview with Sarah. Better example. How Sarah went from burnout to$50 ,000 months in six months. See the difference? One is vague and uninteresting. The other is specific, valuable, and makes you want to listen. Ask yourself, how can I be more specific? How can I build more intrigue? How can I inject emotion or challenge a belief? If you don't, you'll be left ignored. There's one more way you can determine how attractive your episode is to actually click on. And most online coaches with podcasts get them completely wrong. We spoke about show notes last episode from a keyword or discoverability standpoint.
7:01But what about from a copywriting perspective? Write a massive blog post. Talk about how qualified you are. List the guest's credentials. Ramble about the topic. Your show notes aren't there to share information. They're there to sell the listen. If someone has clicked on your episode and is reading the show notes, they're interested. Your job now is to convince them this episode is worth their time. Use this four-part structure, a popular copywriting framework called AIDA, which stands for Attention, Interest, Desire, Action. 1. Attention Start with a hook. Ask a question or share a shocking stat.
7:50Example, did you know 87 % of coaches quit within their first two years because they can't consistently sign clients? 2. Interest Build interest by explaining why they should care. What's in it for them? Example In this episode, you'll discover the exact client acquisition system that helped me go from two clients to a fully booked calendar in 90 days. 3. Desire Paint a picture of the outcome. What will their life look like after listening? Example By the end of this episode, you'll know how to attract dream clients who are ready to invest, create irresistible offers, and confidently charge premium prices.
8:404. Action End with a clear, incentive-based call to action. Example If you're ready to stop guessing and start attracting high-ticket clients consistently, listen now. Your next client could be one episode away. The bottom line is, your podcast needs to be packaged in a way that's attractive to new listeners, not your current audience. If new listeners discover your show and your cover art looks terrible, your episode titles are bland and don't hit the sweet spot, your show notes ramble on about the guest or topic without selling the value, you're going to be ignored. But when you focus on these three aspects, cover art, episode titles, and show notes, you convert ten times more potential listeners into active, engaged listeners who eventually become paying clients.
9:40Package your show. Show your authority. Communicate your value clearly. Cover art matters. Invest in professional design that communicates high value. Episode titles need to grab attention Be specific, intriguing, or polarizing Show notes should sell the listen Use the ADA framework to communicate value and drive action In the next episode, we're going deep into user engagement How to increase retention time and keep listeners hooked from start to finish In this episode, we covered how to increase your visibility on Apple and Spotify, the three things you need to focus on to get clicked on and listened to over your competition, and how to take advantage of the fact that people do judge books by their covers to fast-track your podcast growth.
10:40Thank you for listening all the way to the end. At the start of this episode, I said I'd tell you a little bit about me. So I'm about to share a secret with you. One that might mean you hate me, completely quit listening to this podcast, and think I'm a total scam. However, I want to be transparent. Are you ready? Well, my name is Tony.
