Notable examples

Stephen Bartlett’s podcast as an audio benchmark; Descript Studio Sound as an AI tool to remove echo/buzz/background noise.

0:00New year, new approach to your coaching podcast. But if you're still doing the same things everyone else is doing, nothing will change. Welcome to How to Grow a Podcast that attracts high-ticket online coaching clients. The show helping coaches, consultants, and experts turn your slow-growth podcast into a profitable client attraction system. At the end of this episode, I'll share a little more about who I am and what we do at my company, GetMoreListeners.com. It might even shock you. But for now, let's dive into the episode. In today's episode, you'll discover the three things to ditch in 2025 for easier client attraction through your podcast, why guest interviews might be sabotaging your ability to sell your coaching, and finally, how your audio quality is silently killing your authority even if you have a producer.

0:54Let's dive in. New year, new me, new podcast, new plan. Welcome to a new year where we help you grow your coaching podcast with less wasted time. We know what it's like. New year energy, fresh starts, new plans. So let's clean up your podcasting approach. Let's ditch a few things that shouldn't be on your plate if you're trying to attract high-ticket clients in the most efficient way possible. Here are three things to leave behind in 2024. Thing number one to ditch, social media clips. I know, I know. If you've been doing social media clips, I understand why. The idea is to get more exposure, more reach.

1:39Instagram, Facebook, YouTube Shorts, TikTok. Put clips out there to reach more people. Sounds great in theory. However, here's the question. If you've been posting social media clips for over 90 days in 2024, have you seen positive movement in your podcast growth? More importantly, have you seen movement in client inquiries? Can you specifically identify that your podcast attracted clients because of your social media clips? I hate to be the bearer of bad news. If you can't make that connection, all that time you're investing in clips isn't actually leading to client attraction. After working with hundreds of coaches, we're yet to see someone effectively using clips to drive massive client attraction.

2:25That's why we recommend ditching that in 2025. Thing number two to leave behind, guest-only podcast formats. Now hold on, I know what you're thinking, but I love guests. They provide value. They allow me to tap into new audiences. I love the conversations. It builds my network, and my audience likes my guest interviews. But do they like guest interviews because they genuinely prefer that format, or because that's all you give them? Let me ask you something. You're supposed to be the expert that people hire for coaching, right? So what are you doing spending all your time focusing on other experts that people might hire instead?

3:07How's that going to help you attract clients in 2025? I know the thinking. If I get guests on, they'll bring their audience. More listeners means more opportunities to convert them into clients. How's that worked out for you in 2024? Look, should you ditch guests entirely? No, they have their place. Guests are valuable for networking, diverse perspectives, credibility. However, should you ditch a guest-only format if you need focus on you to sell your coaching? Yes. Your format should suit your goals. You need to pull more spotlight onto you. Incorporate solo episodes where you demonstrate your expertise directly.

3:50Share your frameworks, your perspectives, your coaching philosophy. Maybe drop some guest episodes and replace them with solo content. Or create a hybrid format. But if every episode is about someone else's expertise, how are potential clients supposed to understand why they should hire you? So the second thing to do less of is guest-only formats. Thing number three to ditch. Mediocre audio quality. Hold your horses. I know what you're thinking. My audio quality is good. I've got a producer. I edit the show myself. And honestly, your audio quality is probably decent. But we want it to be great.

4:34This is something we overlook because it's so basic. People are listening to your voice. They're evaluating your professionalism. They're deciding if you're worth$5 ,000 or$10 ,000 for your coaching. Audio quality matters, and it matters even more in 2025. Because guess what? There are more high-profile coaches now with unlimited budgets and teams producing their shows. Their shows sound top quality. And when people listen to those podcasts and then yours, their standard of good audio quality is set extremely high. I've said this before. If I have a 10 out of 10 burger and then an average burger, the average burger now tastes not that great.

5:15The exact same thing is happening to your audience. They're being accustomed to extremely high quality podcasts. And if your audio quality isn't at that level, you're losing credibility before you even open your mouth. You might be thinking a few things. I have a producer, so what do I do? What does good really sound like? How do I know if mine's bad? How can I fix it? Here's a shortcut. Listen to Stephen Bartlett's podcast. His production is incredible. Listen to his audio quality. Use that as a benchmark for what yours should sound like. You might not hit that mark perfectly. He has different equipment, an entire production team.

5:54But the point is, you now have an idea of what great sounds like. You have an idea of where the standard is set for the high-ticket clients you want to reach. Once you get accustomed to the podcast quality your ideal clients listen to, you can ask, is my audio quality as good? Where do I stand? And if it doesn't match up, that's okay. We can change a few things. You can speak to your producer and say, I want my podcast to sound more like this. If you're editing yourself, you can play around with features, EQ, leveling in post-production. Or you might realize your audio quality is already excellent.

6:31At least you know for certain. If I had to give you one actionable thing, have a play around with a tool like Descript Studio Sound. It does wonders using AI to turn even a laptop microphone into something that sounds professionally recorded. It removes echo, buzzing, background noise, and this is why we're bringing this up. If you had to spend thousands on gear, we wouldn't suggest this, but anyone can have access to premium-level audio quality now. Tools like Descript Studio Sound are the way to go. That can be your producer using it, or you can use it yourself. The step is to have a frame of reference by listening to top shows, then use accessible tools to close that gap.

7:13So let's recap. Three things to leave behind in 2024 to attract more high-ticket clients in 2025. Number one, social media clips. They don't grow the show or attract clients the way people think. If you're spending money or time on them, don't do them for January and see what happens. See if you get any fewer client inquiries. I'm guessing you won't notice a difference. Number two, guest-only formats. Guests have value, but if you're trying to sell your own coaching, it's hard to do that when focus isn't on you. If you have a guest-only show and you're selling your own offers, consider adding solo episodes where you demonstrate expertise directly.

7:55Show potential clients why they should hire you, not just why they should listen to other experts. And number three, mediocre audio quality. This is not something to settle for anymore. Now that we have affordable tools, there's no excuse. Check out a top podcast, compare it to yours, and if yours isn't at that level, don't worry. You don't need thousands of dollars or a crazy setup. Use tools like Descript Studio Sound to elevate your production quality. You'll make your listeners' experience better. And when you sound more professional, you're perceived as more credible. And when you're perceived as more credible, you attract better clients willing to invest at higher levels.

8:37So that's it. Three things to leave behind as you head into 2025. Stop wasting time on social media clips that don't convert. Stop hiding behind guests when you need to be the authority your clients hire. And stop settling for mediocre audio quality when professional sound is now accessible. Focus on what actually attracts high-ticket clients. Creating content that positions you as the expert, building authority through your own voice and frameworks, and delivering that message with production quality that matches the premium nature of your coaching offers. Do these three things, and you'll see a difference in your client attraction in 2025.

9:17In this episode, we covered the three things to ditch in 2025 for easier client attraction through your podcast. Why guest interviews might be sabotaging your ability to sell your coaching. And finally, how your audio quality is silently killing your authority, even if you have a producer. Thank you for listening all the way to the end. At the start of this episode, I said I'd tell you a little bit about me. So I'm about to share a secret with you. One that might mean you hate me. Completely quit listening to this podcast and think I'm a total scam. However, I want to be transparent. Are you ready?

9:58Well, my name is Tony. No, of course that's not the secret. The secret is that I'm actually a robot. My creators are Tig and Anthony, hence my name, Tony. The sick bastards. Anyway, they are the founders of GetMoreListeners.com. In the last five years, they've coached and interviewed over 400 podcasters and generated multiple six figures from their own show. They gave me access to everything they know, and I'm here to share it with you.
