In short
How to transform a coaching podcast in 2026 for easier monetization and high-ticket client attraction, arguing the “hidden growth trap” is lacking fresh outside perspective when you’re the CEO of your own show.
Guests
None mentioned; the host is Tony, a “robot” persona created by Tig and Anthony, founders of GetMoreListeners.com.
Guest/host backgrounds
Tig and Anthony have coached and interviewed 400+ podcasters in 5 years and generated multiple six figures from their own show; Tony provides their framework.
Key claims
Podcasters often quit or stay on the wrong path despite good content; an outside audit reveals blind spots and the correct path.
Notable examples
McDonald’s nearly stayed a small California burger joint until Ray Kroc (outside perspective) saw franchising potential; a client nearly quit, audited and adjusted her show, then earned $14,000 and 10x’d audience within 90 days.

In today's episode, you'll discover the one thing you need to do to transform your podcast entirely in 2026.
0:39The hidden podcast growth trap when you're the CEO of your own show. And finally, the action you can take today to generate ROI from your show. Let's dive in. Welcome back, where we share one memorable principle around podcast growth and monetization that will help you reach your podcasting goals as fast as possible. And this is very timely as we approach the end of 2025 and move into 2026. Now, I don't know where you are exactly with your show. I don't know if 2025 has been a year of growth, stagnation, your first year. Maybe your podcast isn't even one year old yet. But look, wherever you are, hopefully what we're about to share will allow you to take a leap and make sure that 2026 can be the year that your podcast totally transforms your coaching business and your life.
1:32But first, did you know that McDonald's was nearly not ever a franchise? I'm going to take you on a quick story that ties into the one big decision any podcaster can make today. They nearly didn't ever become a franchise. They came from California, a tiny burger joint. Just two brothers, Dick and Mac McDonald. They created a system called the Speedy Service System that churned out burgers and fries faster than anyone had seen. It was efficient, a really good system. But it was small. And the McDonald brothers were happy. They had a good thing going. A cool system and a nice shop in California with a few team members.
2:13Steady customers, no stress. They were living the nice life that most people want when they start a business. But then he showed up, Ray Kroc. Ray Kroc wasn't a big businessman. He was a struggling milkshake machine salesman. One day, he noticed the McDonald brothers had ordered a bunch of his machines, more than anyone else. So he thought, this is interesting, and he drove out to the store. As soon as he set foot in the restaurant, it hit him like a lightning bolt. This wasn't just a restaurant. This was a revolution. This was game-changing. And Kroc was standing there, but he wasn't looking at the shop.
2:55He was seeing a vision. McDonald's restaurants on every corner. McDonald's in Asia, Australia, everywhere. He was seeing the franchise, and he knew he stumbled onto something that could change the world. The interesting thing is, before Ray Kroc saw this vision, the McDonald's brothers never thought of it. They didn't see it. Ray Kroc walked in and instantly saw it. If it wasn't for someone coming in with an outside perspective and spotting the opportunity, McDonald's would have never made it out of California. It would have just suffered a quiet, peaceful death. But this random milkshake salesman saw massive opportunity, and it was only together, him buying the franchising rights, that McDonald's transformed into what we know today.
3:45And it never would have happened without that fresh perspective. Sometimes you're too close to your own brilliance to see the big picture. Sometimes you're too close to the wood to see the trees. And sometimes all you need is that outside perspective. Now, what does this mean for you as a podcaster? Having worked with hundreds of podcasters, there's two things we see a lot, and both are sad realities of why podcasters don't achieve their goals. Number one, podcasters quit before they get to the good part. Number two, podcasters go on for years going down the wrong path and never getting to the good part.
4:29And not because their podcast sucks, not because their content's not good, not because they're not interviewing incredible guests or promoting on social media, not because they're not ambitious enough. They're simply heading down the wrong path because they don't have perspective on what path they should be on. It's not a lack of trying. They want to, but they're on the wrong path. We've seen this with our clients. One client recently, she joined our program. She was struggling, uploading new episodes, being consistent, posting on social media, doing everything she could to grow her show. She was trying, but didn't know how to take things to the next level.
5:12So she decided to work with us. It took some time to make the decision, but she finally went all in. She thought, what have I got to lose? The first thing we did was audit her show, showed her all her blind spots, told her exactly why her show wasn't growing or monetizing, gave her a step-by-step guide. The program helped implement those changes. When she received this, she was blown away because there was so much stuff she didn't see that was holding her back. There were many things she was doing right, but then a few things she wasn't doing well that was stopping her from growing and monetizing way faster.
5:49Eventually, she applied the strategy, made the changes. Within 90 days, she generated$14 ,000 with her podcast, and she also 10x'd her audience. Within 90 days, she was blown away. She completely changed her perspective on what a podcast is and can be. It completely transformed her coaching business. But six months before, she was on the verge of quitting. Down on her luck, felt like nothing was working, but all she needed was outside perspective to point her in the right direction. So she could smash her goals, be a recognized figure in her space, have a successful podcast growing month after month, bringing in real revenue for her coaching business.
6:32Not just something that feels like a nice thing to do where I'm investing time but not getting much out. She's fully doing it, smashing it, and that all wouldn't have been possible without outside perspective. She would have kept going on the wrong path, unaware if the changes were right or wrong, unaware of what to double down on or eliminate. So what's the moral, and what is the one thing you should do today? What really is the one decision that can transform your podcasting journey in 2026? Getting fresh outside perspective on why your podcast might not be growing or monetizing at the rate you'd like.
7:08And this isn't us trying to give a plug for ourselves. This is speaking the truth. Whether that's us, a different coach, a book, it doesn't matter where that comes from. If it's us, great. But the point is, in 2026, if you're still not moving at the pace you'd like, if a whole year has gone by and your podcast isn't where it needs to be, you are working hard. You are doing the right things. It might just be you don't have an outside perspective, especially when it's just you, maybe your co-host, but you haven't got a team to show you, hey, you're not on the right path. Move to the right path. So that really is the lesson.
7:47What we want to encourage you to do is explore getting outside perspective on your situation and see what people have to say. If you want that to be us, we'll leave a link below where you can book a discovery call and see where you are now, where you're trying to go, and we'll tell you what we see holding you back from faster growth. If it's a fit, great. If it's not, that's totally cool. But at least you have that perspective, rather than being in the dark questioning, am I doing this right? Am I doing this wrong? Look, if McDonald's was nearly never McDonald's because they never got outside perspective, McDonald's was just once a regular restaurant.
8:25Obviously, it's a very extreme example, but on smaller scales, we've seen clients with an average podcast that blows up and makes them a ton of money and creates a ton of impact and floods them with messages from very grateful listeners and high-ticket clients. That can probably be you. If you're listening, you clearly care about your podcast, you're passionate about it, and you probably know what you're talking about. There's probably no reason that can't be you. And sometimes, all it takes is a fresh perspective. And it's so sad when people quit, because they never got that perspective, and the move becomes, oh, this isn't worth it, I should quit.
9:06So look, don't let that be you. We want to see you win in 2026. You can book a call below if you want us to help you with that perspective. Keep listening, and we'll see you next time.
