In short
Using holiday downtime to set up podcast growth and monetization goals for 2026, centered on three self-reflection questions: (1) choose one exposure strategy to master consistently, (2) assess and strengthen how much listeners see you as the expert for one specific problem (not just knowledgeable), and (3) define a wildly important, tangible goal (often revenue/ROI) and reverse-engineer steps using conversion rates.
Guest backgrounds
No guests. Host is Tony (a “robot” bit), with founders Tig and Anthony mentioned.
Key claims
One strategy beats many; monetization requires “expert feel” tied to one problem; interview-heavy formats can weaken perceived expertise; set numerical goals and calculate client/download targets.
Notable examples
Interview shows where the guest is seen as the expert; niche podcasts that still fail to convert due to topic variety.

In today's episode, you'll discover three questions to ask during holiday downtime for clarity on your podcast growth in 2026.
0:41An easy way to get more podcast exposure in less time. And finally, how to calculate exact steps needed to achieve your coaching business goals. Let's dive in. Welcome back. Three actionable things on a week where Christmas is in a couple days. Generally, it's a restful period. Downtime, family, celebration, reflection. Whether you celebrate Christmas or not, it's holiday season. Merry Christmas. Today we wanted to give you three questions. Nothing practical, just things to think about. Ask yourself. Write them down if you like. For most of us, this is the only period things are restful, because the world basically stops.
1:21Clients aren't active. Prospects are quiet. Most of you probably have little kids running around, going on major travels. It's probably more chaotic now than ever, but there is some downtime somewhere. In the little time you do have, maybe on a drive, maybe when the kids are in bed, here are questions to help you set yourself up for 2026. The first question, if you want to streamline your podcast and get clarity around attracting more clients next year, is this. What's the one strategy you want to master next year to get exposure to your show regularly? The reason for one strategy is because it's only one thing you need that actually works.
2:01Regular exposure, meaning new potential clients, are seeing and listening regularly. Most coaches do a million things and don't know which part is working. That leads to frustration because you don't have clarity and way more time invested than is necessary. A lot of coaches post on social media, try landing big guests, tell friends about their show, Send episodes into text groups, Facebook groups, talk about it at conferences. The list goes on. When really, to grow and attract clients in 2026, all you have to do is pick one way and master that. So is it social media? If so, double down and give that your all.
2:42Don't worry about other strategies. It's important to note that other massive shows, big celebrity coaches, influencers with podcasts, They have entire teams working on specific strategies. They're paying tens of thousands, if not hundreds of thousands, monthly. So when it's just you, when you don't have that budget or team, it's important you prioritize. Is it social media? Is it guessing on more podcasts? Is it doubling down on live events? Is it hosting community workshops? The point is, whatever strategy you decide, pick that one and go all in. because really that's all you need, one strategy.
3:23Use this time to think about which one. So what is the second question to attract more high-ticket clients? This comes down to monetization. If you're podcasting, you love your show. You want to share your message, but you also want to make money. You want ROI from time invested. To have a podcast that's growing, thriving, and monetizing, it's important to have that authoritative feel, to be viewed as an expert, as someone of value your audience looks to for answers, that your audience would pay money to. Many coaches struggle to monetize and turn listeners into paying clients because they struggle to position themselves as an expert that solves a specific problem.
4:05This causes issues because if you're not seen as an expert at solving one specific problem, your audience don't know what coaching programs they can come to you for. So the question is this. If you're looking to monetize, you need the expert feel. So how much do your listeners see you as an expert in solving one particular problem? That's a hard-hitting question. On the surface, it's easy to say, well, yeah, they see me as an expert. I talk about leadership twice a week. But how much? To what extent are you the expert for one specific problem? It's easy to have a niche podcast that might seem like it positions you that way, but could be doing way better.
4:46and therefore converting way more listeners into clients. A couple of examples. If you mainly do interview shows, probably it's not that strong because focus is on your guest. They see your guest as the expert and you as very knowledgeable, but not you as the expert, the person top of mind for solving a specific problem. I'm sure they love you, respect you, but there's a difference between that and seeing you as the unanimous expert, which makes it easy for them to hire you for coaching. The question goes deeper. How do you make sure your listeners view you as an expert in solving one problem moving into 2026?
5:26Because if the end goal is monetizing and attracting high-ticket clients, that's where your attention should be. The other part is the topics you're covering. Even if you're doing solo episodes, you still might not position yourself as an expert in one problem if you're talking about largely different stuff every episode. So think critically. Listeners will perceive you as an expert for one problem when you focus on talking about that one problem with focus on you. To what extent do they see you as that? The factors are, how much is the focus on you compared to guests? How much is the focus on one specific problem compared to variety?
6:07That's what to think about. That leads us to the grand finale. What is the last question you should think about? The question is, what is your wildly important podcasting goal for 2026? I know, just a general question about goals. But bear with me. What is your wildly important, tangible podcasting goal? We're looking for something tangible and probably numerical. Now, that doesn't mean if you're focused on impact, not monetization, that's great. You can make it numerical based on feedback. But look, let's be honest. I know the reason most of you are listening. You likely want to turn an ROI from your podcast, and you probably love it, but you wouldn't do it forever without an ROI.
6:51Let's cut the crap. Let's talk about ROI. If you're a business owner, your wildly important goal probably stems from profitability or revenue. And of course, impact is important, but it comes as a result. So let's say your wildly important goal is, I need to be making at least$10 ,000 a month by year end, because if I don't, it's going to keep costing money. But$10 ,000 is the point where I'd feel like this is really worth my time. If that's you, you can reverse engineer that. What is my vehicle to get there? So if it's$10 ,000 a month and you sell coaching for$2 ,500, you need four clients a month.
7:30Great, now the question is, how do I get four clients a month from my podcast? Then you can build your strategy around that. That goes back to positioning yourself as an authority. But also, you can draw actual download goals based on projected conversion rates. If you've closed clients before, look at that conversion rate. The point is, if you draw one wildly important goal, something tangible, you can work back and calculate exact steps you need to take to hit that. I know this isn't mind-blowing information. You've probably done this before. I'm not acting like talking about goals is groundbreaking.
8:06But again, it's downtime, and now is the chance to really think about this. Because a lot of coaches don't get a chance when they're busy running the show. There's something to be said about just setting a goal versus a wildly important goal you've thought about. If I said, where would you like to be in six months, you might just give me whatever comes to mind first. But it's different when you've had time, space, intentionality to actually think about what success means to you. because it's different for everyone. The difference is being way more intentional, taking time, being intentional about what power you want your podcast to have.
8:45So those are the three questions. Question one, what one strategy will you master next year to get more exposure consistently? Question two, how much do your listeners view you as an expert for solving a specific problem? And deeper, how can you ensure in 2026 you position yourself as an expert. And question three, what is your wildly important podcasting goal? Because look, I'll say it now. We love this podcast, but we're not doing it just to do it. We really want to see you crush it. We want to see you smash your goals because it is possible. We know it's possible. We see what our clients are doing.
9:26We see how it's impacted our business. and we want the same for you. So I'm hoping answers to these three questions spark ideas, ignite motivation, inspiration. So you take on 2026 and make it a year your show takes off and attracts the high ticket clients you deserve. Enjoy the holidays. We'll see you soon.
