In short
The episode is a political/culture discussion arguing that conservative Christian nationalism and GOP-aligned figures are hypocritical, sexually repressed, and dangerous—especially toward women and Gen Z. It also claims that conservative events overload Grindr, and that tech leaders (Sam Altman, Tim Cook) “collude” with white supremacists.
Guests
Jake Schroeder (“Frosted Jake”), a content creator and songwriter who writes news-based songs that “bully MAGA.” He previously worked as a software engineer at Grindr.
Key claims
Conservative hypocrisy is exposed via Grindr crashes and alleged closeted behavior; outing hypocritical politicians is justified; Erica Kirk is a violent, dangerous grifter recruiting young people into a Christian nationalist cult; megachurch-style Christianity is “trashy” and classed; repression and “born bad” theology produce punitive laws.
Notable examples
Erica Kirk’s “grief tour” (sparkly pants, confetti/fireworks); Charlie Kirk’s funeral coverage; Grindr crashing at conservative conventions; trolling songs targeting Erica Kirk and Elon Musk.

04All right. Joining me today on IHIP News is Jake Schroeder. He is known on social media as at Frosted Jake. He is a content creator and a songwriter who has built a huge online audience by putting his own musical spin on the news. And by that, I mean, he writes songs that bully MAGA. And that is a direct line straight to my heart. Jake, welcome to IHIP News. Thank you, Jen. I'm so happy to be here. Hi, IHIP. Hello. Hello. So I think it's so important to bully conservatives because they understand this. They belittle immigrants. They belittle gay people. They belittle women. They belittle poor people, sick people.
51And so we need to speak their language in kind and belittle them back. and you have a whole feed where you write songs dedicated to bullying them. Of course. I think the best sort of bullying or attacking is the most creative. So like the more you can think outside the box to make a point about someone, like it'll have a harder punch is how I feel about it. And the numbers don't deny that. They don't. I mean, you're an absolute sensation. And before you blew up on social media, You worked as a software engineer at Grindr. Tell us about these crashes, these Grindr crashes. Well, it's a whole thing.
33Like every conservative convention that they have, Grindr always goes down. Like the system is just overloaded with users. And there's some like – I mean, no offense, no shade to the team there. It's like not the best app in the world. anytime you hit any button like four ads pops up and like I was terrible at my job too I couldn't fix that but like either way like the like in those conservative spaces like it just completely crashes and it's always like conservative people using the app in a closeted situation because they can't have the dignity to extend empathy towards other communities and need to sort of harbor secrets in themselves and like become these calloused people who, I don't know, share horrible ideas that are anti-immigrant, anti-women, anti-gay people.
26It's kind of ironic, but also deeply really funny. Yeah. It is. It's both sad and funny at the same time. How important do you think it is? Like if we know of a Republican politician, let's just say hypothetically that it's Mike Johnson or Josh Hawley, hypothetically that they are at night doing gay stuff. And some brave American hero were on Grindr and had evidence of this. Do you think it's important to out hypocritical Republican anti-gay politicians if they do gay stuff off the clock? Yes. I do too. I think that's controversial. I think within the queer community, people would say that's divisive.
15But I think the wrongdoings on the conservative politicians side outweighs the inner queer sort of harm. Because first of all, they're not even in the queer community. So I think it's okay to do that. And I've done this before. I was messaging with the CEO of like a big AI company on Grindr and I screenshotted it and I posted it and was like, he was like, I'm lonely and horny. And I was like, and evil. So let's focus on Tim Cook and Sam Altman, because this is fascinating to me. Gay guys. Two gay men who are colluding with white supremacists, patriarchal, fascist forces that I think if I were to bet on it, like the first couple that would get kicked out of the club might be the queens.
07Probably. I mean, don't you think? I think the reason that they have access to the club is because they're cisgendered white men who appear to be straight. Like Sam Altman is not queening out when he's talking about AI. He's not like, this robot's going to kill everyone. Duh. He's like, this robot's going to kill everyone. Right. Right. And same with Tim Cook. So I'm like, that allows them this access to these spaces of like mass destruction and evil incarnate. But I think, yeah, you're right. Like, I think they would be the first to go. And they're willing to carry the water for Trump instead of standing in conviction.
45You know, a president's term is only four years. We're almost halfway through this nightmare. I mean, it goes by pretty quickly. I mean, it doesn't feel like it right now, but four years is not that long. Yeah. And the fact that instead of saying, look, we're not going to go collude with these bigots, with these homophobes, with these transphobes, with these utter gutter racists, we're going to stand back over here, keep our pronouns and our pride flag in our company's business and say F you. Yeah. You know, like that to me is probably the most devastating thing about Trump 2.0. Trump being Trump is just whatever.
21He's a prick. He wakes up. He's a prick. He wakes up each day even more of an incompetent prick. Rants repeat. But the amount of people that completely debase themselves, like Sam Altman and Tim Cook. My life is booked and busy. I don't have time to try on a million outfits that still don't feel right. That's why I get styled with Stitch Fix. My personal stylist sends outfits picked for my size, style, and budget so I can get dressed and get on with my day feeling confident. It's no risk. All style. Free shipping, free returns, no subscription required. Get started today at stitchfix.com. That's stitchfix.com.
06I think, like, on the note of them being in that room, like, when you create a company like Tim Cook was Apple, right he didn't create apple but like he led apple right um and sam altman is open ai i think that like you're creating like a source of power right that power over everyone like a technology that everyone uses we all use iphones and we'll probably all use chat gpt soon or like have it in a system somewhere um and i think to be the person that like makes that system reflects like a desire to have power in oneself. So to like go to the political sphere seems like a desperate attempt to have more power, like more than capital power, have this like political power.
57But the one thing that they lack is like cultural and social appeal, which is awesome. It is awesome. And it's a great way for us to resist their technologies, which I think are inherently one-sided, which the side for them to maximize profits at the, whatever happens to the population. They don't care. They literally don't care at all. And you, in addition to Sam Altman and going after him, you go after people like Erica Kirk and I go after Erica Kirk as well. And the reason that I personally went after Erica Kirk was that after I condemned the killing of Charlie Kirk. I couldn't stand Charlie Kirk, but I condemn anybody being murdered.
45Like that's horrible. Her behavior after the fact and her just from her hovering over the corpse and then posting that on social media was unreal. The WWE funeral, the Nazi speeches at the funeral, grinder crashed. And then the way that she talks about women, having kids, even if you can't afford them. I think she's a very dangerous grifter and I think she deserves to be condemned. And I'm pretty, I would have, if she acted crazy on a couple of instances, I'd be like, okay, grief. Sure. She's consistently out crazy. And her tour is so insane. Like make America crowded again. Unbelievable. Yeah.
34So tell me why you think for your generation, it's important because she goes after people, young people. Yeah. She exploits and tries to get them into her Christian nationalist cult. Why was it important for you to personally go after Erica Kirk? Well, my gateway in was seeing the videos of this tour where she would walk, the grief tour, where she like walks out and there's confetti and fireworks and she's in this sparkly pants suit talking about her grief. And I was like, just, I don't really, I don't like dabble so deep in conservative stuff. I don't watch it all the time. I like get what I need to get and move on with my day.
09But I saw this and I was like, that's dramatically just crazy and bizarre. And I did some research and was like, the things she's saying are so dangerous and violent towards women and like just like perpetuating these stereotypes that only further us and don't bring anyone together. And I think like my way of attacking was to comment on sort of the aesthetic and the stupidity of everything because it makes no sense to grieve with such sparkle and like bedazzlement. Like it's not a musical on Broadway. Right. Yeah. So that's sort of like my way in and the danger that I see for Gen Z, especially because we're so malleable.
54Like sometimes I literally get my news from TikTok, which is horrible. And I sit there and I realize like, oh, my God, I need to like get The New Yorker or like read NPR or something. Right. But this is what we're doing all day. We're scrolling. We're addicted to these things. So to be in that echo chamber of like Christian nationalism, it's so easy to just fall in. And like sort of it's similar to like the Manosphere to me. Like you can just like get so addicted to these people who are like gods, but not like distance yourself, critically think. Like that's sort of my remediation. Yeah. I thought it was really bizarre, something I thought was bizarre because I consumed a lot of her content briefly thereafter because it was so weird.
38Like I had to watch it. But what struck me was that Charlie Kirk, this young person, young dad, young husband, was shot with a gun. And she's never, not one time, spoken out against gun violence. Like if your child, if your husband, I have a friend, I had a dear, dear beloved person that worked for me for five years. And two years ago, he was shot and killed in a robbery. And my immediate. I'm so sorry. It's terrible. He's 24 years old and is gun violence. You know, that's what killed him. Too much access to guns, too many guns in the hands of people that shouldn't have them. These are uniquely American problems.
23And I was just fascinated by somebody who was touched by gun violence in the last two years. And I kept waiting for her to talk about what killed her husband and she never did and she never does. And instead she's talking about white male men, not the, you know, the postman, but like my sons, white heterosexual men don't allow people to bully you. And I'm like, my son ever came home and I've got a 24 year old and a 20. Now if they're little kids and somebody bullied them in school, that's a different story. But these young adults, they came home and like, we were getting bullied because we're white and we're privileged and blah, blah.
06I'd be like, quit being a pussy. Seriously. Quit being a pussy. Nobody's bullying you. I don't want to hear this nonsense. You know, immediately I would. And so that it was just, it was a really fascinating thing. But the turning point in the Christian nationalism and the trad wives and then all the fascists and then the Epstein files, all of that fits under this umbrella. Completely. So you have like these pedophiles, which is disgusting. Horrifying. Right? Yeah. And then you have these crazy trad wife Christians like Eric Kirk, and they all advocate for the same thing. And I just think, Jesus Christ, they need to be bullied.
46It's very male centric. Everything is about men. Even when Eric Kirk was defending herself from the comedian Drewski. Oh, right. She said that he was doing white face. And she was wearing this, literally like a MAGA hat, I think on a podcast. And she said that he was doing white face and it was so offensive. I was like, first of all, that's not real. White face is not a thing. There's no system of oppression that white face fits into. And it's not something that someone can do to like offend white people because racism doesn't work that way. And she like uses that angle, even like, just like, I don't know, like she's uses a black man to make this Christian nationalist like stance and point.
35And I'm like, not once does she ever talk about women unless it's in the role of subordination and like being like a prop for men to like a, like a trad wife, like. Right. it like the book Yesteryear. You know this book? Yes. Yes. It's so, the whole thing is so bizarre because you see this like these patriarchal systems. And then when I see the women that are in it doing the work, like Eric Kirk is able to do what she does right now because of feminists. For her to be able to even - What do you mean by this? Feminists that fought hard for women's rights. Oh yeah, yeah. Totally. To where a woman could be on stage and people would buy tickets and go listen.
20Yeah. I was born in 1974, Jake. The year I was born, women, it was the first year that women could have a credit card in their own name. That's crazy. So for me, I'm, as a Gen Xer, I'm abundantly aware of the work that feminists did before me to have this microphone, to have a handmaid on the Supreme Court, you know, that these women that carry the water for the patriarchy that do all of this work are able to have these positions because of the feminist movement, because of progressive causes. Like Erica Kirk is, she won't want to admit it, just the same way that Riley Gaines is popular because of the LGBTQ plus movement.
02You're welcome. Exactly. You know, she should be, I mean, ringleader at the pride parade because she would have no career because she just tied at fifth place. And so it's a real fascinating cultural thing. And I'm from the Bible belt. And so I know how demented these women are and the men. I mean, I don't want to... Where do you think it comes from? The Bible. Yeah. Like what is the... I'm Jewish. What is that? What does it say? There's a... I'm sorry. There's a sect of Christianity. When I passed the churches that appear in New York, the Christian churches. I think, God, I wouldn't be such a cynical hater of Christianity if I would have grown up here because I would pass a church and there's like a pride flag, a trans flag, Black Lives Matter flags, refugees welcome here.
53And I'm like, well, that's nice. That doesn't make me want to drive my car through the front of it. The churches in Oklahoma City are all about, they teach this component of Christian narcissism, your personal relationship with God. God is surveilling all your thoughts and it's you, you, you, and Jesus first, then you, Jesus first, then you. It never is about like a bigger picture of helping marginalized people or lifting people out of poverty. It's this very white capitalist form of Christianity. And in it, you have the group, the biggest group of submissive people on the planet, both men and women, they have to submit to God first in the Old Testament God.
36I think it's the same in the Torah as the Bible. Not a great character. No, not great. Genocidal, jealous. Noah's Ark. That was fucked up. Yeah. So fucked up. Yeah. I mean, just, I mean, really, I mean, really not somebody you think, and then like jealous, like don't worship other gods. It's only me, you know, they still are very fixated on that component. And the subjugation of women is a huge, huge part of it. And they start with little girls with their virginity as soon as they can talk. Insane. The church immediately starts talking to children about sex and not having sex when they should be playing with Barbies.
13That's so perverse. It really is. But if you think about it, the people who are covering up for Epstein are the same people that groom their children as their toddlers. They're talking to them about, now don't have sex until you're married. And you're saying this to a four or five-year-old. That's some weird shit. Why are you talking about sex? Like, shouldn't you talk about that at 13 or something? 14? As they're approaching hormones. Yeah, of course. That's so weird. Other than, you know, I mean, I think there's an appropriate conversation to have with a toddler about, now don't let people touch your privates.
44That's yours. But I mean, it's a really weird, really regressive. And then at the same time, all those same people are at the conservative convention on Grindr. Exactly. What is that about? Because they're so sexually repressed, all of them. Yeah. And so they're unable to, this is the way my theory about all of this is. At a very young age, these children are told you're born bad. Yeah. You're a bad person. The only way you can be good is to get saved. At the same time, they're also told you cannot have sex. It's the worst thing you can do. And God knows because he's surveilling every single fucking thought you have.
21If you think about beating off, if you think about wanting to kiss your teacher, if you think about wanting to kiss the boy sitting next to you, God knows that's a sin. You might as well affect him. God would hate me. Exactly, right? So imagine the psychosis that's formed. I had all these friends and they were constantly, they were in a state of psychosis thinking like, I'm bad, I'm bad, oh my God, oh my God. Well, guess what? Hormones happen to everybody. Yeah. And we're genetically hardwired to screw. It's Darwinian. And also make mistakes. Like we can fuck up and that's okay. So I think a lot of these Christians want to be punitive towards the object of their desire.
58If it's a woman. That is really deep. Yeah. If it's a woman, then, okay, no abortions for her, no birth control for her. If she had sex out of marriage, that baby is her scarlet letter and we'll slut shame her that way. Wow. And if it's a gay person or a queer person and that's the object of their desire, like, let's say hypothetically again. Lindsey Graham or something. Or then they want to be punitive towards the gay community because they think, oh, that'll fix me if I make this community not exist and shame them. So that's why I think you see so much punitive measures in the law from this conservative movement because they're so broken.
43Their faith broke them. That's crazy. At a very young age. That's my assessment. It's like hatred. Well, first of all, that's an amazing assessment. Thank you. The idea of desire is so interesting. Like, hatred is just a projection of, like, an insecurity that you have towards someone. Like, sometimes I get comments on my social media that are, like, anti-gay and slurs and stuff like that. And I'm like, okay, this person's not talking directly to me. It's probably they're saying something to themselves or, like, having this moment of reconciliation with who they are and what they're seeing. And, like, it's not a personal thing.
19And I think that same principle is like why Lindsey Graham is like trying to come for specifically the gaze. And like that is reflective of something that is probably happening in his brain and what he thinks about himself and like what he wants and his own desires, which is so dark. And like – It is. It's sad. And but then I think there's a lot of comedy in it, like for someone like Erica Kirk, because she's her repression is that of like a trad wife, right? Like a like a woman who needs to be in the kitchen and like scrubbing the floor like that. But she has a full time job. Full time job. On tour.
00On tour with a bedazzled suit. Yeah. And fire and like eagles flying through the stadium. It's so strange. And I – it's like overcoming this expectation of her, which is like – what's the opposite of triumphant? Defeat. Yeah. Like it's such a defeat. And it's like a downfall of American culture. Like I – it makes me sad when I – See, I grew up with the – in Erica Kirk culture. Yeah. I grew up in a Bible Belt state. Oklahoma, right? Oklahoma. Yeah, yeah. Nothing that she did or the way the funeral was surprised me. What surprised me was they did it nationally. And I think there was a backfire to it because even in Bible Belt states, so there are the crazy megachurchers.
51Yeah. And in my group - That is crazy. The megachurch stuff is crazy. It's nuts. Have you been? Yes. Oh my God. It's nutty. Yeah. And so there's the megachurchers and they think they're like, okay, we're the best. Our church is the coolest. It's terrible architecture. Sure. Their pastors are complete grifters. Yeah. Out the wazoo. I've seen like videos of like the vocals and they're really suffering. Like the notes aren't being hit. The pitch is pitchy. The bands are terrible. Music's awful. All of it is awful. Some of the spectacle is like actually shocking. Like there are people like flying through the sky in a way that like New York theater like is not accomplishing in this moment.
25So I'll give them that. But beyond that, like I think the message is like a little terrifying. No, it's terrifying. And I think that when they took that megachurch thing national with Erica Kirk's, with Charlie Kirk's funeral, there was a backfire. Because even in Oklahoma, conservative Oklahoma, where the majority of people are probably evangelical, but my friend group, I'm an atheist, but in my friend group, there's like an Episcopalian, a Methodist. And these people are what I call, you know, just kind of Christian light, if you will. They don't take the Bible literally, but it's an important part of their upbringing and identity or whatever.
58It's more cultural. Cultural, right. But when they see megachurch people, there's always this, God, these megachurch, they're so trashy. There's this like Christian on Christian crime that happens. Among true believers that see megachurch people as just like trash. That's the trashiest nouveau riche form of Christianity. Is it a class thing? No, it's because, okay, here's what happens. During Easter or sometime, the megachurchers get on Instagram and they're like the dunk tank. And you see people getting like baptized and they post it or, or like he has risen and they have the, the stuff that you're talking about.
38And you just look at any normal person's going to look at that and go, this is trashy. Or the people with the hands up in the air while they're singing. And it's, you know, it's like this. It's like an all white choir singing like gospel. And there's, there's something like. Not even gospel. It's like really bad rock. like really christian rock is like it's really like elevator music meets rock and roll meets christian trash it's really bad what are some of the songs kylie went kylie blessed be the name okay they're all they're all about the exact same my god is an awesome god That's a great idea.
22My God is an awesome God, as opposed to your God. My God is an awesome God. Should we close read that sentence? I remember when that song first came out, it was popular. I was in high school. And I remember thinking, my friends telling me, because they were always trying to convert me, there's only one God. He is the alpha, the omega. He's omnipotent, all of this stuff, right? Sure. Nonstop. And I remember when the song came out, my friends were singing it and I was like, but if your God is an awesome God, then what does that mean about the other gods? I thought you said there weren't other gods.
56And they would just be like, well, I mean, that's just because I mean, why do you have to say my God? That's hateful. Right. Okay. So I believe that you have a little sampling that I want to leave our listeners with some of your trolling songs. I would love to. And so go follow Jake at Frosted Jake online because anybody who can so brilliantly and talentedly troll MAGA deserves to be followed. And so I'm going to, he brought his keyboard, you guys. I did. So we get to hear him troll Erica Kirk. Is that what the one you're doing? Yeah. I have a couple, like really short ones. Oh, let's do them.
37Okay, great. Okay, let's go. Okay. Okay. This one is for Erica Kirk. Okay.
47Erica, America is very, very scarica. And this is based on that video where she was wearing that hat and talking about white face. Like whereica is your herica? It looks like you're in the swatika. Swastika would fit on you. Also, nothing's wrong with whiteface because there's no context of systemic oppression. Girl, get out of my face. Erica Kirk, you're stupid as fuck. And being a jerk. Erica Kirk, can you go away? I'm missing the days when I didn't know who you were.

44that's so good i love it do you have any others um yeah okay i have do you know elon musk i have heard of him he has mean tweeted about me before really yeah what do you say um that i jennifer welch is a ghoul to which i plead guilty as charged as it pertains to him and uh the other one is i am just as evil on the inside as i am on the outside which i guilty again guilty as charged And I wear it as a badge of honor that the richest man in the world is consumed with what a 52-year-old podcaster says about him. Yeah. How little. Do you have to be? Little. How little does your penis have to be? Exactly.
23Right? Yeah. It's crazy that he's a trillionaire. Like that amount of money does not make any sense to me. None. And also it's like the thing about like culture, politics, and power. Like you are culture. you have this power over him that like he can't like grapple with which is like so fierce to me oh thank you that's a good way to put it i love that um okay this one's more um experimental okay um it's about his uh well okay um he's got that musky money in the bank and mr dusty musk needs one fat spank because the world is starving and a trillionaire could fix that. Right? Yes. Like if he paid for all the food for everyone to eat, he could end world hunger.
20Instead, his legacy will forever be the richest man that killed the most poor people ever with the USAID cuts. he's got that booyah moula in his lap and mr dusty musk needs one fat slap because the world is hungry and a trillionaire could fix that a trillionaire could fix that but a trillionaire wants to be on a boat looking fat have you seen that photo yes sadly unfortunately a trillionaire could fix that but a trillionaire just needs to wear a big ugly hat that's red and says maga and that's my that's my god thanks for doing the interlude oh yes of course of course i think it's so good and i think you're right about culture and us belittling these people because at the end of day, they are horrible people and they're dorks.
21There's nothing admirable about anything that they do. They have no talent. They just have no morals, which has helped them exploit people to become as wealthy. Completely. And I'll also like, as a professional attention seeker, I can tell when people want attention for the wrong reasons, right? I think like to make songs and like have political ideas is like an effort to heal the world and like bring people together and understand problems that we're facing, right? Yeah. When someone wants to be a politician who is dividing people and tearing them apart and tweeting all this stuff about 52-year-old podcasters, it's just so sad.
05And like the motivation is far beyond evil, I think. I do too. Yeah. I think it's far beyond. And recently this weekend, a clip came out of Peter Thiel about evil people. At least they get stuff done. So now they're starting to say the quiet part out loud because they know the public perception. And it's a lot of it's bipartisan now. I mean, the one thing about this billionaire class that it's doing is I'm finding myself strange bedfellows with certain right wingers online like, oh, shit, we're agreeing about this issue. So hopefully with the cultural attacks and with what you're doing with your keyboard, we let art and we let diversity prevail.
47And so, Jake, I cannot thank you enough for coming on and bringing your keyboard. This is so much fun. Go follow Jake. Jake, thank you so much. Thank you. And thank you, iHip News. Love y 'all. Yes.
07I'll see you next time.
