0:52Welcome to IHIP News. Don Lemon is joining me from abroad. And Don, Michelle Obama just went scorched earth. I expect that Donald Trump will probably be on suicide watch. Watch this clip. Ending a war. Ordering the Bin Laden raid. Saving an auto industry. Winning a peace prize.
1:26keeping us safe from ebola regulating the bank okay so trolling of trump winning the peace prize and you saw barack and hillary just hamming it up there what's your take on that they know what's up look michelle obama knows you remember her at the convention where she talked about she is not when they go low, we go high anymore. When they go low, she goes classy low. You know what I'm saying? She's an Ivy League educated, gorgeous woman who knows how to, you know, who knows how to read someone without having to go, you know, we will say, you know, fuck him. She won't do that because she's, you know, she's a forever first lady, but he is going to lose his shit.
2:13Now I Overnight, you know, after he sees that, I just wonder how many lie socials he's going to post about Barack Obama and the Democrats and all that stuff. Oh, you know, it is going to be a filet-o-fish, bender, ketchup all over. And, you know, he just got back from Versailles. So I imagine he's going to be adding a lot more gold to the already just shit show that we have. But the Lincoln Project is catching up to our reporting, Don, and they put out a chart that I thought you would find of interest. Pop this up. So we have Trump's bisexuality on one way, and then we have Trump's dementia getting worse.
3:02And then you can see the red line erect, the red erect bisexual line going upward. And Don, here is a montage of Trump's most gay moments. Play the clip.
3:20He's the most beautiful looking man. He looks so nice. He's like an angel. Somebody I've gotten to know very well. And he is a handsome sucker. I could come down and start kissing everybody. I'll kiss every guy, man and woman, man and woman. Look at that guy, how handsome he is. Young, handsome guy. It's always nice to be young and handsome. I want to check him out. Look at this guy. Look at the muscles in this guy. He is gayer than Christmas. It's unbelievable. He's gayer than a Christmas tree skirt that he would love to wear, I'm sure. Oh my gosh. Whoa, whoa. Look at this guy. Can I see that chart again?
4:05Because that little red line that's on that chart reminds me of something. It reminds me of something, except the line is about two thirds too long.
4:17But maybe even more. A little mushroom stub. But I mean, he says all this stuff about gays, the gays this and the gays that. And then, yeah, and then he, but he's with a party that likes to talk shit about gay people. He's with a group of people who don't want gay people to be married. I mean, you know, who don't think that gay people should exist. But yet he is always slobbering over some hot muscle. Big guy came up to me. So handsome. Most handsome. You should have seen the legs on that guy. I'm looking for him next time, Jen, to say, look at the ass on that guy. Oh, Don, we are just a couple of new cycles away from that coming out.
5:00In France, he was talking about the prime minister of India saying, isn't he such a good looking guy? He was talking about when he first met the president of Egypt, they spent a long time in a hotel together and fell in love. We are one to two news cycles away from him saying, you know, when I was younger, I had a boyfriend. I had an affair because he's in his deathbed confession era. Well, it could be. I mean, look who his best friend was. There's no evidence of this, but his best friend. I'm not saying that gay people and straight people can't be friends. I mean, look at me and you. Right. However, Roy Cohn was his idol, you know, and was his ace boom coon, as we say, buddy.
5:42So I would not be surprised. I mean, look, you know, you know what people say, Jen, I was it was college. I was drunk, you know, and it was back in the day, which people should not be ashamed of. But I think we are like a couple of new cycles of Donald Trump talking about someone's ass and maybe grabbing him, you know, instead of grabbing him. by the pussy. He wants to grab him by the dick. All right, well, let's leave pee and put penis. Yeah, I mean, here's the thing. We are sad every Friday afternoon, you and me, we are waiting for it. We will butter our popcorn and report accordingly. Now, Don, today in New York, there was a big, big Knicks parade and the city was on fire for the parade.
6:26I tried to get down. I had a ticket from the mayor's office to go sit at the city hall outside. I got down there. And for me to get to the access point, I had to literally cut through hundreds of thousands of people. And I had to abort and take the train back up because I couldn't get there. So I watched it from home. You couldn't get there. No, I got downtown. I just couldn't. I mean, the streets were just flooded. Joy, happiness. So, of course, Zoran's on stage and James Dolan, the owner of the New York Knicks and Madison Square Gardens, he's up there grandstanding. And I want to set this up because this is super important and it really segues to what's happening politically everywhere.
7:08So, first of all, before we get to the parade, James Dolan said yesterday, Don, I don't know if you know this, that the Knicks are accepting the invite to the White House. And so let's play that clip first. Forward to the celebration at the White House. As a matter of fact, thank you for asking me that. We just did receive an invitation from the White House, which we accepted. We still have to figure out the details, et cetera. But, you know, yes, of course. I mean, you know, look, I invited the president to come down for the game. Right. He is a friend. I've known him for 30. Don, I have a real issue if he makes that mandatory for those basketball players to go.
7:49It would be economic extortion if he makes it mandatory. And let me say, this is the first thing that when I woke up this morning and heard that news, Jen, I wrote about it in my newsletter. I was so upset by it because he, from the way it sounds, he goes, we accepted whatever. I don't think that he really checked in with the team, right? That he got the team's approval or even wanted it. But to his, this is what either it is in entitlement or racism or both. And he doesn't care. He doesn't realize that most of his team members, the people who got him to this point are young black men. And most of them do not like Donald Trump.
8:31Donald Trump has talked so much shit about black athletes. What he said to NFL players, sons of bitches, get them off the court, get them out of here. And then I think it was back in 2017 or 2018. And one tweet for me and LeBron James, he said that Don Lemon interviewed LeBron James and made him look smart, which is I didn't think was even possible. When I was interviewing LeBron James about opening a school for children in his home state of Ohio in Akron, Ohio, and he is someone who's opening schools for children. He has the nerve to insult. And then there was a team player back, I think, in 2020 who I think he called Donald Trump some name that I cannot repeat here.
9:10But for him not to understand that, this is not indentured servitude. He cannot just order people to go to the White House. He cannot just say, these are my team members or these are the players on the team. I bought them. I paid for them. That's what it sounds like. And we're accepting it. First of all, if he had understood that, he would not have invited Donald Trump to the game. Because I am sure most of those players don't want Donald Trump at the game. They don't agree with his politics. And then to have him at the game, kill the vibe, and then lose at the game he's at. And then he has a nerve to accept an invitation to the White House on behalf of those players.
9:49He didn't consult with those players, I don't believe it. And I don't think that all of them are going to show up. Most of the players on professional teams, especially NFL and NBA, did not show up when Donald Trump was in office. And I hope the Knicks don't do it. I hope none of them go. I hope Dolan is the only one standing there or they give Dolan a piece of his mind. because Dolan would not be in a position where he can have a trophy now if it wasn't for those young black men. That's exactly right. That is exactly right. He would not be standing there with a trophy if not for black excellence.
10:18And so a person who really appreciates the team and a person who really appreciates every person in this city. And I want to say something as a new New Yorker, I was kind of intimidated moving here. I didn't know how friendly or welcoming people would be. It is the most welcoming. Come. It doesn't matter where you came from. It doesn't matter where you've been. You're a New Yorker now. Come into this world. We want to, you know, experience this fabulous city with you. And here's Zoran on a float with Carl Anthony Towns doing the lean back dance. And this is just pure joy. Play the clip. so for those of you listening they're playing lean back and zoran's just you can barely see him and they're doing lean back lean back and i love it and then here is mom donnie in his speech hyping up the players and the history of the new york knicks it was really one of the best speeches i've heard in such a long time because we hear all these maggot dipshit alpha males speak all the time.
11:21So here's just a little clip of mom, Donnie hyping up the team. As John Starks dunked on Jordan and Patrick Ewing dunked on the Pacers. As Bernard King scored 60. As Charles Oakley pulled every rebound within reach. As Spike got in Reggie Miller's face. As Allen Houston put up a shot against Miami that hung in the air for an eternity as larry johnson gave us the four-point play heard around new york as starbury traded threes with kobe and then sold sneakers every kid okay so then james dolan gets up to speak and he gives probably a 10 minute and he goes through the entire history of the new york nicks the long suffering of the new york nicks fans to wait 53 three years in this little pink arm nepo baby, Trump sycophant, James Dolan, who exploits, as Don was saying, black excellence for himself and then throws his players on the bus.
12:25He gets up and says this right after Zoran spoke. Play the clip. Very proud of our team. Look, I don't need your vote. I don't need to quote to you, right, about what happened here and And because if you're real Knick fans, you know it already.
12:48So thank you for supporting our team. Bye, Felicia. So our friend Emma Vigeland was there, and she said there was booing. They booed James Dolan. I could hear him. I could hear him. Yeah. Can you believe that just this moment, and he has to sit there jealous of Zoran? But why? The whole point is why? And I know people are gonna get ticked, but I'm so sick of old entitled white men, people who had every advantage, who failed up, who doesn't understand racism. He doesn't understand the moment that he's in. He doesn't understand the people who are on his team, the people who are making him famous, the people who are bringing him trophies and rings and all that.
13:32He obviously doesn't stand or relate to them because if he did, he would not be saying the shit that he said. And he would also say, look, you know, I don't think he'd be inviting Donald Trump to the game. And I don't think that Donald Trump would be, I don't think he'd be accepting an invitation from Donald Trump. What he would say is, I need to check with my players. I need to check with my team. This is such a hot political time. I really want to know how they feel. And, but to get up there, why not just praise the team and the fans and New Yorkers and have some dignity and kindness towards the person who is the mayor of the city.
14:07Now, the people of New York elected Zoran Mamdani. And so, you know, get over yourself, Dolan. I completely agree. And Zoran's whole speech, I want you and Tim to watch it tonight. It's so good. It'll make you feel so incredibly proud. All right. Staying with sports, you know, all of the giants got their panties in a wad because in the gayest city in America, San Francisco, they celebrated Pride Night and they wore a rainbow theme over the mascot ball caps. Well, a bunch of these pink arm white dudes somehow feel so insecure in their own masculinity that they are in their own sexuality, that they're unable to support a city that has always lifted up the LGBTQ voices, has a huge LGBTQ plus population customer base for this sports team.
14:58They put their little Bible verses. Well, Josh Hawley, the Senator from Missouri, responds to the major league, the MLB players, warning players. Let's pop this up. So the MLB warned these players and then Josh Hawley responds, quote, warned them for what? Quoting the Bible. Now that's an employment offense. You've got to be kidding me. God bless these players. MLB has some explaining to do. Before you respond, Kylie, if you'll pop up Josh Hawley and that kicker from the Kansas City Chiefs football, this looks like a goddamn gay engagement photo. That's Josh Hawley in front. I've seen your and Tim's wedding photos, and they don't look as gay as this, Don.
15:55I want to know, what's the name of that website? I want to know which movie that is on the Sean Cody website, which is a gay porn site, because that's what it looks like, the thumbnail on a gay porn movie. Put that back up, Kylie. Seriously, listener, look at that. Come on. That guy right there. It looks like, seriously, I'm so happy to be, we're about to get engaged and I'm about to get married to the person that I want to spend the rest of my life with. That's what they look like. And look, I'm not surprised that it's coming from Josh Hawley because you and I know you've heard the rumors, right?
16:29Or at least people who suspect that Josh Hawley is gay because they think he's just, you know, he's gay, very gay coded. I don't know if he is or not. And I don't really care because he's not my type and I'm not interested in him and I'm happily married. So Josh Hawley, you know, don't come for me because I'm not interested in you. But he looks, he gives, he gives me, he gives off gaydar, my gaydar pings with him and with the other guy and anybody who is, and you should ask, God, I forget the Republican strategist who was just on, they just dropped an episode and they talked about the Republican men, conservative men that they worked for and they were strategists for their campaign.
17:08And they said the more conservative they were, the more in the closet they were. And the least conservative they were, that's how they knew that they were straight. That's how they were heterosexual. Because these guys are all in the closet. Why would Josh Hawley, why would he care? Why would that be the thing that gets his attention? There's a reason that that gets his attention. Here's why. Pop this up, Kylie. Here's Josh Hawley attempting to kiss his wife. all right if my husband kissed me like that oh my i would just know like this isn't working out like i'm not his flavor if tim kissed you like that when you'd be like what's going on well let me tell you when he does i'll say give me a kiss and he'll say no and he'll do me something like that and i'll say why he goes because you annoyed me this morning i brought your breakfast and you didn't even say thank you you were just like where's my coffee you know so he'll do something like that.
18:03So obviously, that is not really a love kiss. I don't know what that is. That looks like two birds with beaks, bumping beaks. I don't know what's happening there. But look, why does a little rainbow on a hat, come on, Jen, why does that bother you? And first of all, what Josh Hawley is so ignorant, he doesn't know, and the league said it, is that you cannot change the logo on your uniform. You cannot adjust your uniform to what you want it to be. You have to go by the code. If that's a hat that they issue you, then you have to wear that hat. They said they've issued that about people who put best dad in the world on their hats or best, you know, I love mom or whatever it is they put on their hats.
18:45And so they said they issued that warning to them because you're not supposed to adjust or change your uniform. And so Josh Hawley should have done his research, especially if he's going to be a lawmaker and is in charge of, you know, our, the trajectory of our country, he should at least do his homework. And so, you know, why would you care about a rainbow? If you don't believe in gay, then don't be gay, but you can certainly be a human being. And so, Oh, look at that. Oh my God. First of all, does he have any lips? Oh God. Not for her. I bet he does for Harrison Butker in his engagement photo.
19:18Um, this is a classic MAGA Christian tactic. So they use their, they prop their faith up to beat down others. And then once they, um, are called out for it, then they say, Oh, Christian Christianity's under attack. That's what Josh Hawley is doing there. So they use it as a weapon. And then after they weaponize it, when they get called out, then they use it as a shield And they use this back and forth. And this is something that MAGA deploys very brilliantly. And I call it Christian signaling. They are not this is like a cult form of Christianity, not the type of Christian that you are, Don, not the type of Christian that my friends are that don't rub it in everybody's face.
19:59But I also think in everybody's face, I also think that the insecurity about pride is a real indictment on this form of Christianity. We just saw our fellow Americans get shot. We are seeing black voices in government get completely wiped out by the Supreme Court. If this guy, if this major league baseball player or Josh Hawley are such big Christians, the leader of their movement, Jesus Christ, spoke out explicitly against the accumulation of wealth. That's what he pissed Jesus off, was rich people. And he hung out with hookers and poor people and all this stuff. And it just shows how fragile not only their own masculinity is, but it also shows how fragile their faith is.
20:50That this is how they want to pitch their faith to other people. Do you know how I know that Jesus would be hanging out with the gays? Because Jesus spent his last supper with 12 dudes. and there wasn't a woman in sight. So I'm just saying, Josh Hawley, I'm just saying Christians, hmm. Hmm. I've seen that one. I'm just saying, I mean, it's just totally ridiculous. What you're talking about too is what I wrote about in my book, Jen, which is when we first met, I came on your show to talk about a book. And you said, I would have no idea that you have the faith that you have. And I was like, yeah, because I don't wear it on my sleeve.
21:31I don't rub it in your face. That's my personal relationship with God. And I don't judge you for it. And if I didn't believe in abortion, then I wouldn't get one. But I certainly would not be telling a woman what to do with her body because I think that is just being a decent human being, if you don't believe in Christianity, if you don't believe in God. And I think that allowing people to be who they are is one, American, we're supposed to be allowed people to do, and two, to not judge and treat others the way that you want to be treated, that is a tenet of Christianity. And so these people are anything but.
22:07It's performative Christianity is what I call it. It's like what I call performative patriotism because people think this is what they think patriotism is. Oh, say can you see by the dawn's early light. You know what patriotism is? If I don't want to do that, I don't have to stand up for the national anthem. I can criticize my government. I can criticize my president. That is what patriotism is, because that's what our constitution allows. It is not telling someone that they have to stand or kneel or trying to cancel someone for that. So, and the same thing about Christianity. They think Christianity is going to church on Sunday, following a cult, what other people tell them, who to vote for, and on and on.
22:47That's not what it is. Christianity is so much deeper on so many levels. It's about understanding people. It is about allowing others to express their faith in the way that they want to express their faith. It is about decency and kindness. And none of that, nothing that was in that Josh Hawley note, nothing that what these people are saying about LGBTQ community and transgender people, nothing about that is about decency and kindness and turning the other cheek and treating people the way that you want to be treated. it. Listener, it's already so incredibly hot this summer and these temperatures make me rethink what I'm reaching for in my closet every single day.
23:31I'm looking for lighter fabrics, better materials and pieces that just feel good the moment you put them on and also look incredibly effortless. That's why I always go back to Quince. Quince has beautiful everyday pieces like 100 % linen pants, dresses and tops with styles starting at$32. The linen pants are fantastic. I have two or three pairs. They are breathable. You can dress them up, dress them down. Very summer chic. Listener, elevate your summer wardrobe. Go to quince.com slash ihipnews for free shipping on your order and 365 day returns now available in Canada too. That's quince.com slash ihipnews for free shipping and 365 day returns.
24:23quince.com slash ihipnews. I want to shift gears to one of Trump's renovation projects. So, you know, he had his bee in a bonnet about the reflecting pool. So he Wait, let me ask you something. Is it green? Is it green? Are you going to tell me about something that's green? I'm going to show you here. So he had his bee in his bonnet about the reflecting pool. And so he called a friend of his that did some work on one of his shitty golf properties, right? I think where he buried his ex-wife, to be precise. Anyway, so he calls some guy who is way over his skis on this project. They charge$16 million in taxpayer money.
25:03They paint the pool blue. The pool is full of algae right now and it is completely green. But now the paint is peeling off. Don, look at this. No. Yes, look at this. No, I didn't know about the paint, Jen. I knew about the algae. See the big clump? See that big clump of blue? Oh my gosh. $16 million packed tears. That is a big clump of paint. Well, Don, you might say, well, why is the paint coming off? Well, because the brain trust that governs our country came up with the idea that they would just send a bunch of people down with bottles of hydrogen peroxide and dump the hydrogen peroxide into the pool, which then caused the paint to come up.
25:48Play the clip. Here they are dumping hydrogen peroxide. This was yesterday. And then the next day after the hydrogen peroxide dump. And here's the deal. I bet you here's Trump. I bet he's, you know, all fluffed up over in France. And he sees this and he calls Susie, you know, his chief of staff. You know what I think will fix this? Hydrogen peroxide. Let's everybody get hydrogen peroxide. And they do it. And they just do it because they're cattle. not consult with anyone let me tell you something so i grew up did not grow up wealthy but when uh we got a little bit older and my parents we were middle class we got a pool and i not once did i ever see the pool people and then or when we once they showed us how to do it not once did they ever tell us to put hydrogen peroxide in the pool it is you're supposed to put muratic acid in the pool and you have to be careful about how much muratic acid you put in the pool because it will eat your skin off right if you want to get a stain out of something you want to get gum off of a sidewalk whatever, you just try a little muriatic acid, but you got to be careful.
26:51You have to have the hose with you and some water because you can't pick it up to completely dilute it as soon as you do what it is that you need to do. So first of all, he's not used to that because he's always, he's always had someone doing things for him because he grew up with a gold spoon in his mouth, right? So he doesn't know about that. The other thing is, is that if this does not show you that someone who claims to be in real estate and construction their entire lives don't know how to handle a renovation project, then how do you think he conducted his business over the years? If he can't get a simple reflecting pool properly fixed and maintained, how do you think he's going to get the mechanics of an entire high-rise fixed?
Read the full transcript
27:32How do you think he's going to figure out exactly what to do with a ballroom? How do you think he's going to know how to draw and come up with an idea about what he thinks an arch should be and what it should look like. He doesn't. He's a terrible businessman. And if he had just saved the 400 whatever million plus dollars that his dad gave him, he would have been richer than he was before the presidency. I don't know if he'd be richer now because he's made so much money off of the presidency, but it just shows you that is proof. Donald Trump is a terrible businessman. He handles business awfully.
28:04And when he is in charge of something, look at what happens. It moles. You get algae in it. Everything Trump touches dies our reflecting pool is dying because donald trump touched it you're completely correct do you remember back in the 80s the sun in that we all sprayed in our hair yeah remember that okay that had hydrogen peroxide it had hydrogen peroxide and we would spray this sun in in our hair and my hair listener is actually a little bit darker than it is here this is treated not with sun in, but we would spray it and then we would have our hair would end up being orange. So I'm wondering if at some point with Trump's preference for orange, I'm wondering if at some point he didn't use hydrogen peroxide in his hair because he was a celebrity of the 80s, right?
28:55And so everything with Trump is kind of like some sort of thought association. There's no question in my mind that he is the moron that said, go put hydrogen peroxide in it. And the hydrogen peroxide has lifted up the$16 million paint job on it. They're going to have to end up draining that thing. Again. And redoing it. Yeah. And they're going to have to. You know what? You know what, Donald Trump, if you want to fix the reflecting pond, you should go call Barack Obama, who knows how to fix things, who is a completely credible president. And when he was there, the reflecting pool did what it was supposed to do.
29:33It reflected. There wasn't paint coming up. It wasn't algae ridden. So if you want some advice on how to fix the reflecting pool, call Barack Obama. He can tell you a whole bunch of things, including how to win a peace prize if it's possible for you and how to be president of the United States. That's my advice to him. Don, a real president to do the job. Exactly. Don, thank you so very much. Enjoy your vacation. Can I tell you? Tell me. Oh, it's not. It's like a working trip. I'm going to I'm going to a conference here. oh that's right okay i'm in france and i'm going to a conference but um let me just say i love our when i'm when i spend time with you it makes me happy and i'm i'm not happy that our time is over we need we need more of this i know you know what i think it's next week uh friday on your channel right yeah yeah next week friday on my channel it's the uh what are we gonna we're gonna call it welch's lemonade or something like that yeah well just lemonade something we got some names y 'all tell us what we should name it.

So we like to, we like to zero in on the hard hitting issues. Jen, can I tell you something? Did you see, I'm sure you talked about this, every single celebrity in the country, in the world was at Barack Obama's opening of his library and museum, Donald Trump couldn't get, he couldn't get Millie nor Vanillie to show up. He got Vanilla Ice. He got Vanilla Ice, Don. He got Nilla Ice. Vanilla Ice is now Nilla Ice. He's, you know, I love you. All right, Don, love you.
31:18And I'll see you next Friday. I love you. Bye, Jen.
31:28you
