In short

The episode centers on outrage over Mitch McConnell’s hospital “proof-of-life” photo after a reported month-long hospitalization, and Donald Trump’s related comments demanding transparency and cognitive testing.

Guests

none mentioned; the host(s) discuss the news with co-hosts off-mic.

Key claims

McConnell’s photo is “hostage-style” and insufficient without verbal confirmation; the facts don’t add up (briefly unconscious, pneumonia, no bones/concussion/heart attack/stroke/tumor/hemorrhage), and he may be non-verbal or cognitively impaired. The episode also alleges Trump’s “maggot” tweet targets NYT reporter Maggie Haberman while Trump still interviews/calls her.

Notable examples

calls for a special election in Kentucky; references to McConnell freezing/falling clips; Trump’s demand for journalists at the hospital and live cognitive exams; Ground News ad comparing NY Post vs NBC coverage.

I'll be moving in. Let's get started. Uh, sorry, I think there's been a mistake. I bought it from Carvana. You what? Yeah, great price. I even have seven days to love it or return it. So there's no... No, no buyer's remorse. More like buyer's rejoice?

1:29A sitting senator for the United States Senate released a hostage-style proof-of-life photograph in the digital modern era. This is so utterly insane and raises more questions than it answers. And of course, I'm talking about domestic terrorist Mitch McConnell. Mitch McConnell, who has clung on to power with an iron fist and wrecked the lives, the economy, the Republican Party, anything that this man touches, he has fucked up beyond all repair. Pop this up. Mitch McConnell has released a photo in the first statement on his condition. I was briefly unconscious and was taken to the hospital while receiving excellent care over the past several weeks.

2:25I also had to deal with a mild case of pneumonia. Okay. He went on to write, my doctors have confirmed that I didn't break any bones or suffer a concussion. I didn't have a heart attack or a stroke. I don't have any tumors or hemorrhages. And said that he's working hard to get back to the Senate as soon as possible. I'm sorry, but this is just absolutely 100 % unacceptable. Democrats, what we have to do right now is Joe Biden him. Yep. Do you remember how just ape shit? I think even Lady Graham was trolling Biden saying, you know, can you do a cognitive test right now? We need journalism, number one, regarding this.

3:09And number two, if Mitch McConnell is fine, do a video. If we're going to do hostage style photographs, let's just go ahead and do a video. why not if you can talk to scott jennings for 20 minutes why not get on the phone with scott jennings with cnn cameras there why why are you not talking well i was i've been reading even before this ridiculous post that he was non-verbal it had gotten to the point where he couldn't talk so i think in my mind that's where they're not doing the video what i would like to see is, you know, Governor of Kentucky, Andy Brashear, he sent letters. He was on the news show saying, you know, we need to have some confirmation.

3:51I don't think this counts as confirmation. I think unless there is verbal communication between Andy Brashear and Mitch McConnell, Mitch McConnell, I'm sorry, Andy Brashear should call for the special election of his seat because he's sitting up in that photo. We don't have any timeframe on it. We don't have any appropriate diagnosis of what happened. And he is a senior senator from the state of Kentucky. So I say call the special election and let Mitch McConnell show Kentuckians that he is capable and within sound mind to represent their district through the end of his term. I completely agree.

4:31That's what Mitch McConnell would do. He immediately needs to schedule it and say, we have not heard this man speak in over a month. This is unacceptable. This is a major, major position in the United States government. And every single bit of evidence that he has put out, we can't really verify. And short of him communicating directly himself, we're going to go ahead and have the election and he should do it immediately because it's exactly what Mitch McConnell would do. And it just pisses me off from a personal level that this guy is still doing this shit, not playing by the rules, dicking over the American people.

5:12And here, let's face it, how old is he? 84 or something insane. At 84, you don't get hospitalized for a month and then just return to like living this great life. It doesn't happen at that age. Other lives, yeah i mean other ages yes but we know that the decline i mean how many videos have we seen where he's freezing up on camera either i don't know which it is is he having a mini stroke or is he shitting his pants because kylie if you'll find the video where he's just frozen there and pop it up as we're talking about all this stuff and then how many how many videos have we seen him just falling down.

5:49Yeah. So this has been long overdue, but we cannot overstate how insane it is. And if a Republican, if a Democratic senator released some crazy ass proof of life with the fingers like this, the Grim Reaper with the Washington Post sports section, which a lot of people say it's AI, I don't know. That's not acceptable. That does not work. That That is insane. They're acting like he is in custody of Al Qaeda or something. You know, I mean, you're a United States Senator in the United States of America at an American hospital. Invite one journalist and a camera in and show us. You're doing so great.

6:33You didn't have all of these things, concussion, heart attack, stroke, all of the all of the things you're saying. You should be, you know, pretty much functioning like a spring chicken mentally. So let's hear you talk. Well, and another thing that I thought was interesting is he said he had a brief illness and briefly unconscious. His wife went to China and said there was no medical reason for her to be at the hospital. That tells me this guy has been on a vent. He has not been conscious. I just I think all this is bullshit. The facts do not add up. I don't think that he is capable of governing at all.

7:12It's just too fucking fishy. He hasn't been capable of governing for a really long time. I mean, here's something that was several months ago. Kylie, play the clip. What are my thoughts about what? Running for re-election in 2026. What are we doing here? Did you hear the question, Senator? Running for re-election in 2026. What are we doing? This is before he was hospitalized for a month. This is not acceptable. And this is not me being ageist. When somebody could be in their 60s and could get, you know, something could happen. This is unacceptable. He cannot answer questions. And they're asking about running for reelection.

8:00What planet is this country functioning on? that it would be even open for discussion that that basic walking corpse would be asked if he's running for re-election. It's insane. And speaking of old people that have no business being near levers of power, pop this up. Donald Trump, true socials the following over the weekend maggot hagerman which is obviously maggie haberman who is a new york times journalist that he refers to as maggot and these are the that want to lecture us about not showing enough heartbreak over lady graham famed closet ladybug homosexual dying anyway maggie maggot hagerman has covered me incorrectly for 10 years her book is a joke 90 of it is fake news She has made a living off her bad reporting and will pay the price when our multi-billion dollar lawsuit against the failing New York Times gets to court, which should not be that long.

9:08I don't mind bad press if they are right. I do mind fake reporting like what's in her boring book and like she's done for 11 years with only one aim in mind, to have Trump lose elections. But as I sit in the Oval Office and ponder, he so didn't write this, that hasn't worked out too well. Maggot is a loser, exclamation point. If she ever wrote the true story about me, it would actually be quite boring, but loaded with lots of success. Also, I just finished a perfect physical at Walter Reed. I do it every six months. And I requested another cognitive exam. the only president to do so three times and I aced them all.

9:53Got every question right. Few people in Washington, D.C. could do so, including Maggot and her flunky associate, Jonathan Swan. I would be willing to bet they couldn't get 50 % of the questions right. Anyway, don't buy their book. It's garbage. President Donald J. Trump. And here's what I say. The most transparent administration in years. I want complete transparency. I want Mitch McConnell on, I want an interview. I want, I mean, let's get a journalist in there to question him at this hospital since he didn't have any, basically nothing's wrong with him. He's fine. He's totally fine. I mean, didn't have a stroke, didn't have cancer, didn't have all this shit.

10:35Furthermore, then for fun, let's start doing like, uh, like let's get AOC next to Donald Trump and do timed cognitive exams live on TV. I'll even say this, the UFC thing that you built in the white house on bucket, put it back up, put it back up and let's do the president versus America live cognitive exams, because that's how insane this shit is. What I'm suggesting lives in that same space. Let's get Joe Biden up there, Sleepy Joe. Let's get him to do a cognitive exam. Let's get Hunter up there to do a cognitive exam. Let's get Mitch willed out to do a cognitive exam with Scott Jennings. Fuck it.

11:21Let's just go bananas. Cognitive exams for everybody in the UFC lawn in the White House. Because all of this is so utterly insane, at least there would be a start and a conclusion to these things. Right. All right, listener, every morning in order to prepare for all of these episodes, it's so important that I consume the news, but not just any news. I need to consume the news that has facts in it. That's why I always go to Ground News. They're basically the Spotify of news telling you who owns each outlet, where it leans politically, and whether you're reading original reporting or recycled messaging.

12:03Here's an example. The New York Post has the following headline. Senator Mitch McConnell, 84, breaks silence on mystery element with photo after hospital stay. Questions about health. My ground news app tells me that this has mixed factuality. It tells me it's owned by the Murdoch family and it's a right-leaning publication. Same subject, different headline. Mitch McConnell says he suffered fall, was unconscious in first statement since hospitalization. NBC News leans left very high factuality in this article. So listener, join us by going to groundnews.com forward slash ihip to get 40 % off the Ground News Vantage plan that we use every single day.

12:46They're subscriber funded and female founded. By subscribing, you're not only getting a tool we all need today, you're also supporting our work. That's ground, G-R-O-U-N-D, news.com forward slash IHIP. It's linked right below in the show notes. Just a couple things on this. If Maggie Haberman was such a bad journalist in Trump's eyes, he keeps sitting down for interviews with her. He keeps calling her on the phone. And I just want to point out two of the many lies, but these I wrote down, where he's talking about how his lawsuit, the multi-billion dollar lawsuit against the New York Times, it's already been dismissed.

13:32He won't participate in discovery, so none of these lawsuits go forward. I can go file a lawsuit today against 50 people, but it doesn't matter. So that drives me crazy about him. I don't know if it's the lawyer in me. And then he's so mad about this book, because this book is selling faster than anybody expected. It's already been reordered. It's on the top of the charts. He's so mad about it because he looks like the buffoon that he is. I think the fact that his tweet shows that, okay, in this post, I hate Maggie Haberman, but then I call her and I'm asshole buddies with her, shows how WWE American politics are.

14:21It shows how, like, Lindsey Graham dies. And here's a man who, to my dying day, I will support Israel. Well, you got it, buddy. It happened. You're make a wish on, you know, that happened for you. And then we have all of these Democratic senators come out. Cory Booker called him a hero in a video post yesterday. It shows how WWE all of this shit is. And here's the thing. 15, 20 years ago, there was some bipartisan stuff that happened in the Senate and they were friendly and there was decorum. I'm of the mindset right now. When you have this regime that is dismantling our constitution and our government and turning the DOJ upside down and killing American citizens and not investigating their murderers, but yet assigning them to other assignments within DHS.

15:19There is no friendliness in that. And I'm just not a duplicitous WWE style person that could be like a senator and be like, Hey, Lindsay, how's it going and be asshole buddies with him. And then know what he's supporting know that he's supporting these deaths know that he dresses up in red panties and has a sex worker do all sorts of God only knows what to him. And then, you know, does all this family values bullshit. So it just shows you how much disdain a lot of these politicians have for the American public and how much of it is for show and how much of it is just WWE manufactured bullshit.

16:04Because of course, like now Trump's best friends again with Michael Cohen. You know, so much of this is just so performative. And the people that are carrying the water for this man and this fascist takeover don't realize, or maybe they do, but behind him is a source that has been working on this for a really long time, decades of reshaping the court and making the United States of America a Christian nation because these men are not right with God like Lindsey Graham. And so this is their last ditch attempt. Well, if I can make America a Christian nation, then I'll be right with God and all of my gay stuff and red panties and all the stuff I did with these trans sex workers will be null and void because God will be so happy.

17:01And I think that you can apply that to the people in the Supreme Court. We have a collection of the most dysfunctional people governing us. And research has shown, listener, there's very little difference in family and in functionality between the uber, uber wealthy and those that are completely living in poverty. There's very little difference. They're both equally as dysfunctional and isolated from the real world. All right. That's all we have. Like, subscribe, comment. We'll be back later with more news.
