0:51Pumps:Ready?
0:52Jen:One, two, three. patriots gay triots they triots black triots brown triots triple trumpers fascist assholes motherfuckers can do wet pumps fuck off fuck off fuck off i like that i just have it up to my ears with all this craziness oh cool good tell us what you've had it with well obviously
1:18Pumps:Trump and the lying and the propaganda. Like I fucking had it. Anybody who is not thinking, holy shit, the United States of America has fallen. Our allies hate us. The rest of the world hates us. The only people that like us right now are Benjamin Netanyahu, who's a war criminal. We, the United States of America, are committing war crimes. What in the fuck is happening?
1:47Jen:Well, I mean, this is exactly what happens when you elect a convicted felon. The media sane washed it. But let's just visit Benjamin Netanyahu. Have you seen all this shit about like he's dead? Yes. And then there's all this like AI shit going online. And then he releases another video and another video and another video. And the public is always like, well, this one's AI. Well, this one's AI. It rings in this picture, but not in that picture. And I think the larger thing with all of that stuff is. I mean, I don't know if he's dead or not. I don't think it would really matter because everybody likes to blame a lot of Israel's war crimes on Benjamin Netanyahu.
2:26Jen:But when you look at polling of that country, I mean, he's been in power this long for a reason. And I think if he's gone, just like if Trump's gone, we all have to realize that there are these fascists, these war criminals that are making their cultures worse, that are not keeping us safe, that are not prioritizing universal human rights, universal human rights. And this is the biggest message that I have for everybody trying to navigate the news. You get to, no matter what anybody says to you, you get to care about Palestinians getting killed. You get to care about the attack on the synagogue in Michigan.
3:13Jen:You get to care about the Iranian girls that were killed by an American missile. You get to care about the attacks in Australia where Jewish people were gathering on the beach. You get to care about the four Palestinians in the West Bank that were executed, a family of four, a mother, a father, a five-year-old, and a seven-year-old shot in the head by the IDF. You get to care about all of these things. You don't have to pick a side. And by criticizing the IDF, does it make you an anti-Semite? By supporting and giving empathy to the Jewish communities that want safety worldwide. You get to care about all universal human rights.
4:05Jen:And I'm so fucking sick of the conflation. Number one, we get to criticize Israel. They're worthy of criticism. Every other country in the world, every other leader in the world gets criticized. That's what happens. I mean, even if you decide to be an actor, We're podcasters. You get criticism. And so I'm just so sick of that. But what we have is all of these autocrats that have lined up. Benjamin Netanyahu is a fascist, a war criminal, a murderous, homicidal, maniac dictator of the nth degree. I don't know if he's dead. I don't know if he's alive. But I don't know that it matters a whole lot.
4:44Jen:Just like if Trump were to drop dead, what is he incubated here? Look at the cultural changes where, you know, everybody's monitoring what everybody likes and doesn't like on instagram instead of standing on business right you know stand on business i oppose islamophobia i oppose anti-semitism i oppose transphobia i oppose homophobia i'm sick to death of white people being racist to black people in the united states of america had it quit watching their football games quit watching their basketball games, quit telling them entertain me and then telling them they can't have political opinions. And so it's very exhausting being alive right now.
5:28Jen:And it's very difficult to navigate all of this shit with these fascists. But I want to offer our listeners, you get to care about all of these things. Universal human rights are the only thing that keep all of us safe. Period. If you start prioritizing one group over another, you leave everybody vulnerable, including the group you prioritize. Historically, this is all true. Yeah.
5:57Pumps:Well, and here's the thing too. I think that my frustration, I mean, number one, white women, obviously my demographic, but I think why it triggers me so much is I used to be that person. I used to be the person that said, if it doesn't affect me, why do I give a shit? And I was so narcissistic. I was so entitled, wrapped up in privilege that because I'm white and socioeconomically stable, then I get to have special privileges. And I guess it's like a non-smoker. I mean, a former smoker, now a non-smoker. I just, I see it everywhere and it It enrages me. And I'm like, I know that you don't have empathy.
6:45Pumps:And I know you don't give a shit about anybody else because I was you. And it's so fucking gross. Okay, welcome to I've Had It. I'm Jennifer. I'm Angie. Kylie. Hi, I'm Kylie. Hi, Kylie.
7:01Jen:What's up?
7:03Pumps:I've got two reviews for you. And I'm going to start strong with a five-star titled One Star with a Wink Face and Resting Bitch Place writes Hate to ruin the vibes but I just want to say something after listening to the most recent episode Jessica made a self-deprecating joke about having a platform and being an idiot and I know it was said in jest but I can't even stand hearing it as a joke You two are so obviously intellectually superior to the average and mainstream podcasters That's actually what drew me to the show in the first place As a woman, I was intrigued by two women working in two of my dream career fields.
7:41Pumps:And after listening for a while, I found you both to be nothing short of role models. The way you combine intelligence, humor, honesty, and absolute refusal to tolerate nonsense is rare. And it's a huge part of why the show resonates with so many people. Please never downplay how smart and thoughtful you both are. It's one of the best parts of the podcast. Anyway, I've had it with self-deprecating jokes. Keep doing exactly what you're doing.
8:07Jen:That is so nice, resting bitch face. That is so really, really nice. But I think we will always view ourselves as somewhat idiotic because there is some truth to that. But I think the reason why the podcast resonates is, you know, we really feel this. Like I have been around this cult of white evangelical Christianity. And the only friend I had in my adult life that was that was pumps. And we would go through closeness. And then I would be like, oh man, she's a little bit too fucked up for me this month. And I'd pull back like three or four months because she'd say some crazy shit. And so it's, it's in as you know, as she's sharing with you all about her deconstruction, I think that what is happening here in the void of corporate media, being able to give you truthful reports, people are finding themselves in independent spaces where people have conviction.
9:11Jen:And in a world where in a country where conviction seems to be a rarity, I think that's why people are finding their homes in independent media spaces.
9:22Pumps:No, I agree. I agree with that. And I do think that here we are in the midst of all of this crap and we've built this community and that's, I feel stronger because of it with all the people that listen and believe the truth and want to live in reality. It's very refreshing, obviously, based on all the crazy shit. Okay, now I'm going to bring you down a peg with a one star titled Delusional and Go Leafs Go Rights. There are quite a few delusional podcasts out there, but this one is just over the top. Good for a couple laughs. And that's about all.
10:03Jen:I mean, you know, I mean, for a one star review, I like that he committed to listen, he or she committed to listening to it long enough that they laughed. right and the fact that they took the time energy and effort to go craft a one-star review tells me the inverse of hatred is love and there might be a little bit of love there so i think that's one
10:22Pumps:that we might potentially be able to convert we can bring them over i actually saw a review it was too long to bring onto the show but it was like this show sucked in the very beginning and it sucks even more now. And I was like, you have listened for three whole years, three plus, and they've hated it the whole time.
10:43Jen:Oh, I love that. That's real. And that's a real dedication to hate that I kind of find admirable because I don't hate anything that much to invest that much time. So I kind of admire that's kind of aspirational hatred, you know, really the hate and the rage to put that much time into it. I mean, that's really like if you really want to be a hater, like that person could put on a clinic. Seriously, that's impressive.
11:09Pumps:I thought so.
11:10Jen:Yeah.
11:11Pumps:Okay. I've got, I've got a news story that plays perfectly into your habits today. And I think a lot of our listeners will understand and it's political depression is driving more people to the therapist's office. And it says it might look like traditional depression, the same hopelessness, despair, and shutdown, but its source is different. Two-thirds of respondents in a 2024 survey said they talk about politics or elections with their therapists, and studies show political stress takes a very real toll on people's mental and physical health.
11:48Jen:And this is where I would just disagree with the way that this article was framed, and I would say this is moral news. What we're witnessing right now is not political to me. What we're witnessing Trump do, what we're witnessing Benjamin Netanyahu doing, I don't disagree with their political policy. I fundamentally morally disagree with arbitrary murder. It's a moral issue for me. I fundamentally disagree with scapegoating groups of people. I fundamentally disagree with the diabolical manipulative nature of propaganda and gaslighting. I fundamentally disagree with prioritizing bombing countries over helping the people in your own country eat, get a livable wage and get healthcare.
12:35Jen:So yeah, this, we, we gauge it as politics, but to me, my biggest thing right now is when somebody says, yeah, I just don't watch politics. I'm like, well, it's then you're telling me you're a sociopath because what we're watching right now is a moral collapse, an absolute moral collapse and how convenient that you can, you know, escape into your algorithm and just ignore it. I'm not capable of doing that. I'm just simply not. Yeah.
12:59Pumps:I part, I am part of that study because I do talk with the therapist about feeling so overwhelmed and like, um, helpless and what does the future look like? So I'm part of that study. I mean, and I agree with you. It's way past politics at this point. Okay. And I've got one more story. This one is super interesting. It went really viral on Tik TOK and it says Washington as in the state roasted for using AI feature with heavily accented English instead of actual Spanish on state helpline. And it says for months, callers to the Washington state department of licensing who pressed two for Spanish were greeted by an AI voice speaking English, but in a heavy Spanish accent.
13:51Pumps:The voice would say things like, please press uno and enter the last quattro digits of your social. It went viral on TikTok with nearly 2 million views before the state fixed it. The woman who caught it said it was like a scene out of Parks and Rec. And I've got a video of this recording that people would hear. You have reached the driver licensing service line. If you are calling about a vehicle or boat, please press one. Please press one for English. Dos para español. Tribble rusco. So bo. Thank you for calling the Department of Licensing Customer Support Center. That sounds like a long way.
14:31Pumps:Please scheduling a driver licensing office appointment, cancelling an existing appointment, or questions about an upcoming appointment. Please press uno. All other callers, please stay on the line. Thank you. That's fucking crazy. That is crazy. Yeah.
14:50Jen:Is that verified? Is that just TikTok verified or was that verified through a news source?
14:57Pumps:No, that's real. Multiple news sources, AP. Really? How does that happen? This is what happens when you just use robots and AI. And people found this funny. And a lot of people in the comments did find it funny. But it also was super problematic. I mean, that's like a year or two. If you do, if you can't speak English, you literally couldn't understand it. Just the incompetence is just raining down from every direction, including AI.

18:11Pumps:Okay, I've got some voice from those today. And the first one we're going to start with is from Kevin. Hey, Jennifer. Hey, Poms. Hey, Kylie. Gatriot from New York City here. Here's what I've had it with. I've had it with wireless headphones. Bluetooth. I don't want to have to charge my headphones. I want to be able to just plug a headphone in to my phone or my device or whatever, and then listen to your fucking podcast or music or whatever it is. I don't want to have to know if it's charged. I don't want to have to have it connect to my computer. And then, oh, it has to connect to my phone. And then, oh, I've lost one of my AirPods and then I can't find the right adapter for the old hole or the new hole or the three and a half millimeter headphone jack or whatever it is.
19:07Pumps:Just give me a headphone that plugs into the new port on the goddamn iPhone and I don't have to charge it and then I will be happy. Yeah, that's it. Love your podcast. Thanks. Bye.
19:25Jen:i completely agree with this these came out that i have in right here i'm only wearing one because if you wear two i'm either super soft spoken or i'm screaming at the top of my lungs because of the noise canceling thing i have no way to moderate the uh pitch of my voice but this all the electronic stuff it's like they it goes and it goes and it goes and they keep advancing it to where now it's complicated. Like for example, the text messages on my cell phone have reorganized and there's columns now for like people that I text whose numbers are programmed. And I kept getting like phone calls like, Hey, I've sent you four texts.
20:09Jen:I'm like, I've not received your text. Well, it was in unknown sender text compartment. And I'm just like, well, this doesn't help me at all because I don't, I want them all in one spot. And then I want to be able to like block the person if it's spam or reported as spam. And so that that's not helpful that they reorganize the text. It's not helpful that we are all now forced to buy these because sometimes the plug in, I agree with him, it's better. You just plug it in and you have them in your ears. You don't have to worry about charging. Like when I'm on long flights, like to go to LA to see my son, my AirPods die.
20:44Jen:I'm like, well, this isn't helpful. if I had the ear pods that plugged in or AirPods, whatever the fuck they're called, I wouldn't have to worry about this situation at all. I could still be watching my show, but instead I'm having to take out my earphones, charge them for like 15 minutes at a time, one at a time to try to keep watching my show. I've had it.

21:06Pumps:No, I'm so happy to hear this from somebody other than myself, because I find all the ear plugs and connecting to the phone, all of that, I find that so difficult and frustrating. And I just thought it was me because I'm older, technologically challenged. So this gives me great comfort because I feel the exact same way. And I'm just going to go on record. I know we've talked about it before. I'm so fucking tired of the different plugins for every Apple device. Get a plugin, stick with it. I've fucking had it with that.
21:41Jen:I agree. And I also think that there's a racket. I think this has been proven before and that we're supposed to have fixed it. But now the new iPhone's out, like there's the iPhone Air. And the minute a new iPhone drops, then my battery on my current phone starts draining so fast. It's a total racket that Tim Cook is in on where they just, these tech companies are the worst. I mean, these people are like monsters. and i read this article recently that the people in silicon valley they used to be so far left now they're moving really far to the right these are the people that want ai unregulated and all this shit peter teal you know talk about all freaking freaks they're all freaks and here's my thing about these billionaires like they have all this money and they just act like they're so oppressed like oh my god they're going to tax me in california so i'm going to pack my toys up and move it wouldn't even affect your life at all there's no sense of appreciation for the country that allowed such deregulated unfair capitalism for them to succeed and for others to fail and suffer there's no appreciation for the state and the customer base that they built it in it's just like just on a whim, oh, we'll move to Florida.
22:58Jen:We'll move to Texas. Good luck living in those red states. Good fucking luck. Have fun with kitten heels and that nut governor and Ted Cruz. Have fun with Ted Cruz in Texas. I mean, just, and no disrespect to people that live in Florida and Texas. I was born in Texas, but I just have had it with these billionaires. And then here's what's going to happen. Those red states that have these really tax-friendly policies, they're going to end up having a multitude of problems and budget deficits because of this. And then these billionaires will pack their shit up and move again because they're so fucking entitled.
23:32Jen:They think everybody in the entire world has to do everything to serve them because they're rich. And I just don't think that. I would much rather hang out with a person who makes minimum wage working at 7-Eleven, 12 times out of 10, than I would hang out with any of these fucking moronic sociopathic billionaires. Agree. And here's the thing.
23:56Pumps:It's so interesting to me that they think they're so smart. Like I have so much money, so I'm so smart. So I get to tell everybody else what to do. It's like, they think that they're, they've elevated them, stop their status to like a deity or a demagogue, I think. I agree. All right, Kylie, who's next? Before I kick you, I just want to say I've seen rumors that the next iPhone, they're thinking of having no ports, no charging ports, nothing. So you'll have to.
24:27Jen:They're all sitting around circle jerking, pulling stuff out of the parking lots and they're making, it's getting too complicated. The technology is getting too complicated. You know what I just heard recently? I heard Sam Altman, that demon queen that owns GPT, right? So he said, well, the way I see the future is artificial intelligence is going to be like a utility service. Like we're going to provide, so basically what this motherfucker is doing, he's taking Google, the internet, plus critical thinking or deduction skills that human brains have. He's bottling it up and packaging all of the shit that we've all done.
25:06Jen:And then he's reselling it to you, something that you could Google and use even a moderate IQ to crack the case on shit. it's so insane how crazy it is and this is the guy who also said he couldn't imagine raising kids without ai just like you really and you're like one of the smartest worldiest people on the planet and you can't figure out how to raise a kid it's like genetically encoded into our dna how to do this like literally i when i was pregnant i was like how am i going to do this and you have the baby and you just fucking know what to do just know it's genetically encoded how do gorillas know in the zoo because it's genetically encoded.
25:46Jen:Mama dogs know it's genetically encoded, but this motherfucker, he has to consult AI as to how to raise a kid. I mean, it's just like admitting I'm so stupid. Even though I was a child and I experienced this human experience and I've watched and read all of these books and this body of evidence, I have no fucking clue unless I consult with this fucking moronic robot that I invented that now I'm going to package and resell to people. I hate these people. I hate these people. I hate these fuckers enough. I mean, it's just, we need to, these people are fucking awful. Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos, Lauren Sanchez, all of them.
26:28Jen:Neutered Mark Zuckerberg, all these people hanging out with Jeffrey Epstein. They're gross. Here's one thing. Jeffrey Epstein was a total prick, rapist, all the things. He knew when he had all of those oligarchs having dinner, he snapped a picture of it and emailed it to himself. Yeah. That's just pretty telling to me. That's pretty telling. All the oligarchs had dinner with him after he pleaded guilty to being a pedophile.
26:59Pumps:They all begged to be in his presence. Elon Musk was begging to get invited to the wild party. That's the thing. He knew how fucked up his shit was and he wanted to bring every person down with it. And these people that think they're so smart, everybody should tower to them. They're so stupid. They fell for it. Yeah.
27:18Jen:And birds of a feather. Agree.
27:22Pumps:We just had the Oscars recently and Elon Musk tweeted that he couldn't watch because he's not going to watch a bunch of pedophiles. Okay.
27:32Jen:Here's the thing. Elon Musk's step-siblings and his siblings accused his biological father of being a pedophile, of sexually abusing them. Elon Musk embarrasses and humiliates himself in the Epstein files. Elon Musk outed Donald Trump properly. You will never get the full release of the Epstein files because Trump is in them. You know, he nuked Trump on this thing. And clearly, the president of the United States, in my opinion, has done sexual assault with underage people and was best friends with Jeffrey Epstein because Jeffrey Epstein didn't have friends. He was a spy that had assets that he was working, that he was manipulating.
28:23Jen:And Donald Trump was one of those people. And the American evangelical white megachurch people that still support this shit are the biggest political liability, the most morally bankrupt people on the planet. go to speaking of grifting and capitalism go to the i've had it gift shop on our website and we have shirts that say boycott mega churches and in the trump era all the shit that i have to think about boycotting i'm telling you as a messenger from a red state mega churches are the incubator of all of this hatred of all of this shame of all of this hypocrisy of the permission structure to forgive pedophiles.
29:10Jen:And let me just say this to every listener of this podcast. If you're Christian light and you go to church and you think, well, my mega church is great because we have a couple of gay guys and there's a black couple that comes every week too. And the black couple's even gay. So we're so woke. If your mega church pastor is not screaming from the pulpit about egregious war crimes, about little girls in Iran getting shot with a tomahawk missile. If your mega church pastor is not talking about wealth and income inequality, if he is not talking about the greed and the exploitative nature of the billionaire class, because there's one thing that this atheist knows, because when I, after being pitched and pitched and pitched evangelical Christianity by the most morally bankrupt people I knew in my life personally, I read the words of Jesus, the central character of Christianity.
30:01Jen:He spoke out exclusively against the accumulation of wealth. It is not kind of hinted at. It is explicit. And then you have all of these evangelical preachers who speak out exclusively about the accumulation of wealth, which is antithetical to their Lord and personal Savior that they will not shut the fuck up about trying to recruit everybody to go to their megachurch to give them more money so the megachurch can grow. It's unbelievable, these churches. One, one of the most insidious, I talk about this a lot, look it up, live churches, 25 locations. And here's the biggest gript of the whole thing.
30:40Jen:Each location doesn't have its own pastor. No, they have a television screen where the main guy is broadcast everywhere. And guess what their social media account did when Trump was, quote, unquote, assassinated in Butler, attempted assassination. They post support for Trump. They never post support for the people that Trump goes into rural Oklahoma, where this church is based, and lies to them. Lies to them and tells them, I care about you. I care about your suffering. They don't. These big church is every bit as bad as big pharma. It's every bit as bad as the military industrial complex. It's almost worse.
31:22Jen:It's almost the most insidious.
31:25Pumps:Well, I agree with everything you said, because I am absolutely, I was in on all of it. I was raised like that into my adulthood. I did, you know, this was not like something I did at 12. I kept it moving for decades. And let's be honest, I didn't have the skills to critically think until well into adulthood. I mean, I'm aware. I mean, like I could do like academic stuff, but when you applied it to my life, I was in capable.
31:57Jen:She was, I'm just telling you guys, it was crazy because we would, we're raising our kids and then her life falls apart and would be sitting on my front porch chain smoking. And I remember her saying, and like the whole life is falling apart. I remember this so vividly. She goes, well, I'm just so happy that my kids are safe. It's like, it's like Jesus and God, like had these angels come and put barbed wire around my children. Yes. And I said to her, I said to her, like, I remember all the visuals about the barbed wire and these angels with barbed wire was kind of weird to me from job. But then I was like, I was like, but your kids aren't safe.
32:37Well, no,
32:38Jen:they are. I mean, that, you know, my prayer worked there at least. And I said, well then, okay, let's say your kids are safe. Why are your kids safe? But the kids who, you know, live in the black part of town that are over policed, why are they not safe? She snapped, just moved her head straight at me. And I'll never forget it. She goes, maybe God just likes me more than he likes them. And I was like, are you serious right now? Did you just say that? And she was like, yeah, maybe he just likes me more. And I was like, yeah, can't be serious and she was like no i'm dead serious he just likes me more and there was it was just like everything was completely shut down god likes angie more right everybody else and so her kids are safe and everybody else's kids can go fuck themselves that's exactly what it is i mean
33:28Pumps:so imagine that by the millions that's that's a trump voter i mean i will give you this for all
33:37Jen:of your crazy christian stuff you were never a fox newser which i think saved you probably you didn't like sit around and and you i mean you didn't like you weren't political at all
33:50Pumps:i never knew you to be political author because i was so above the fray i was chosen nothing bad other people's problems weren't going to affect my life jennifer come on all right who's the next
34:03Jen:caller have we only done one caller we've only done one we are just gas bags i mean once see here's the thing once you start talking about this mega churches i can go to town i can rip it because i lived around it i see the moral depravity of it i see the way these people treat minorities lgbtq plus people and it makes me crazy i'm so glad you got out of that pumps because I don't think we'd have a podcast.
34:32Pumps:Same. I'm so glad that I got out of it. Are you happy? I'm so much happier. I feel so much stronger. I feel like I have a direction. I don't feel aimless. No, everything about it. Let me ask you this.
34:47Jen:Are you still terrified of your mother?
34:50Pumps:Interestingly, I am, but not near as much. Not near as much. I mean, that is evolving.
34:57Jen:Let me ask you this. Does she know you're an atheist?
35:01Pumps:No. If she does, she is ignoring it. But here's the deal. Denial in the way I grew up, that is just part and parcel of life. So it's an inconvenient truth and you don't want to believe it. You just don't. You just don't. So that was generational in my family. So I think she would, even if she did, she would ignore it.
35:27Jen:And you just would never discuss it.
35:31Pumps:Okay. Now that I say that, yeah, I think, I think she would ignore it because she doesn't want to know. Okay.
35:37Jen:What are you going to do? Cause I remember last year Easter. Yeah. Your mom asked you to go to church and it's an anti-gay. I went on the website of it. It is explicitly very anti-gay, very homophobic, very hateful church. And I said to you, how can you do that? How can you go when we have so many LGBTQ plus audience members? And you said, this is just a year ago. I don't care. It's just easier for me to go. Yeah. Cause I didn't want to fire. Still in there like that, uh, uh, fear of your mother. Where are you this year on Easter? Let's role play. I'm Judy. Okay. I'm going to call you. Okay. Ring, ring.
36:20Jen:You have to say hello. Oh, hello. Hello. Angie, are you, are you going to, the kid's going to go to Easter worship with us on Sunday? Okay.
36:31Pumps:Here's the thing. I have actually role-played this by myself. You're getting out of character.
36:36Jen:You're out of character right now. That's okay. Be you. I'm your mom. Okay.
36:42Pumps:I just asked you the question. Mom, thank you for the invitation, but I cannot feel good about myself if I go to a place that I know, number one, is not for all human rights, that has racist overtones at every turn. and I cannot sit in a room full of people that I know voted for Donald Trump over 90%, seeing what he is doing to US citizens and abroad, I can't feel good about me if I go. So I'm not going to be able to go. Well, I voted for Donald Trump. Do you think I'm a bad person? yes i've asked you specifically how you feel about the treatment of migrants and you act like it's fine so i do think you have an empathy problem and i've told you that on several occasions that it makes me really sad that you can't have empathy for other people okay then what i don't know what
37:44Jen:she would say after that what do you think she says after that if you because this would be the first time you're 57 how old are you 60 56 fuck off sorry 56 barely 56 in like 28 days okay so 56 years old this is really it's really fascinating and it's so i think some of the one of the more helpful conversations nationally you tell your mother no for the first time in your life because that religious control the mind control of religious authoritarian parents is so massive which sets the psychological soil by the way authoritarian parents set the cycle for people to fall prey to authoritarian governments so you tell your authoritarian mother no you're not gonna go what does she do cries victim immediately cry um i don't think she'd feel like a victim i think
38:42Pumps:she'd feel like i was going to burn in hell but she would start crying immediately so it'd be the emotional blackmail kind of situation but i just and what do you do when she does that that's
38:53Jen:impre that's stressful pumps but you're used to it i'm that's part and parcel that's just so it
38:59Pumps:doesn't yeah yeah i i wouldn't back down it's a i'm so proud of you yeah no i've been playing this for a year i've been doing this in my head for a year because i was like i'm never going i can't go back i it just makes me too uncomfortable what are they doing the hand praise did they do the hand praise no they don't they didn't do that if they did i didn't notice it but i'm not saying
39:22Jen:they didn't i personally didn't notice it you know what atheists call easter what happy uh zombie day zombie jesus because i mean you think about it he was dead for three days so the decomposition position in the desert. Yeah, it's pretty intense. And so then you think about him raising and everybody seeing it decomposed. This is a level of blasphemy for that. If you're an atheist or agnostic, you're very comfortable with, but some people would be like, Oh my God, she's so crazy. But I mean, I think the whole story's crazy. It's like not believable to me. Just isn't. Of course it isn't. You guys in Oklahoma, in my neighborhood, people put yard signs up for Easter and they say he is risen.
40:11Pumps:All over. He is risen. In front of businesses, everything.
40:17Jen:Yeah, he is risen. I forgot about that. And then the Jesus that they worship, the capitalist supply side Jesus, like if Jesus did exist, the brown Palestinian Jew, Jesus would be so mortified at all of these freaks in the Bible belt and their weird worship of him and how they've whitewashed him into this Aryan businessman.
40:41Pumps:I'm just telling you, it would be like, I was shocked when I saw a picture that Jesus wasn't white. It just, the way it was preached to me, he was white.
40:53Jen:Well, I mean, on all of the Christian arts, I feel like I thought as even though I wasn't raised in church, I for sure thought Jesus was white because my family was culturally Christian. Like we celebrated Easter. We celebrated, not didn't go to church and we had like Easter baskets and Easter eggs. We celebrate Christmas. We didn't go to church, but we had gifts. So we do all the Christian holidays. I for sure thought he was white. I mean, I grew up in white suburban Oklahoma city. I thought for sure he's white. Yeah, you know, attractive blonde hair, blue eyes, kind of what they do with Trump.
41:28Jen:Now those those Photoshop pictures of Trump where his hair is a little longer and he has like the muscles and stuff. They kind of Jesus to him a little bit. They do this. That same group of people does this. Yeah, I guess it's their idealized male. Right. Yeah, exactly.
41:47Pumps:I mean, obviously Trump is the idealized male. Fucking A. oh my god he's so gross kylie did you leave us um if i may if you are like pumps and tell your parents you don't want to go to easter and you're in atlanta we have a show that weekend and we'll house you i think we have a couple tickets they could still come so that's how people here's the deal that i'm not gonna get to have that conversation with my mother you still can no i still do it but it just it kind of takes the hair out of it
42:22Jen:yeah it does i let me ask you this will she make your kids go no she won't will they will she ask them and will they go she'll ask them um no not if i don't I don't think so. You guys, this is big. It's like the biggest growth I've seen in you to be able. It is because you've always kind of straddled both sides. Like there was podcaster pumps who fought hard for all of these things. But then privately, you were still going to these institutions or holding up these things. And it always kind of like, you know, it always kind of I thought, oh, this kind of problematic. But to hear you say that you're actually going to talk the talk and walk the walk is the most growth I've ever seen in you.

Thinking about Europe?
46:09Pumps:Think Poland, a destination that surprises travelers in the best possible way. Starred in Royal Krakow, alive with legends and timeless architecture. Experience dynamic Warsaw, where history meets cutting-edge design. Wander colorful Wroclaw and feel the Baltic charm of Gdansk. And the food? It goes far beyond what you think you know. Yes, there's pierogi, but also modern Polish cuisine, Michelin-rated restaurants, craft coffee culture, local breweries, and fresh regional flavors earning international attention.
46:36Jen:If nature calls, sail the crystal-clear lakes of Missouri, hike the Tatra Mountains, walk dramatic Baltic Sea cliffs, or explore ancient forests and national parks. Poland is modern, safe, welcoming, and English-friendly, with fast trains, beautiful hotels, and exceptional value compared to other European destinations.
46:53Pumps:And no matter what kind of traveler you are, you'll find a corner of Poland that feels made just for you.
46:59Jen:Start exploring at poland.travel for ideas, inspiration, and trip planning resources. Poland, more than you expected.
47:06Pumps:I'm really kind of upset about the whole Easter thing now, because I've gone over this in my head a million times. Well, technically we're on Saturday, so you could fly back and make it. So you can still tell her no. Okay. Go. Go ahead. Okay. I'll just have to be happy with that. I'll just have to be happy with that. She probably doesn't even know. No.
47:33Jen:Don't your parents do the video church where you have to watch it with them? No.
47:39Pumps:Well, that's what growing up, once we went to the megachurch, once it was built in Stillwater, you watch the TV. People gather all over the country in big buildings to watch the same TV.
47:55Jen:That is really a brilliant grift. I have to hand it to him. He doesn't even have to hire people. Truly, like he doesn't even have to hire a pastor that he pays insurance to, that he gives a 401k to. He literally buys one TV screen one time. And then he just duplicates himself. It's really like that grift is really next level. I know what we need to do. And that the narcissism and I am only one preacher and I can be duplicated all over. I mean, it's really, if you want to be a fucked up evangelical grifter, Craig Groeschel has, I mean, he has it down. Like that is really aspirational grifting.
48:37Pumps:I know what we should do for tour. We should go on a nationwide tour. You never have to leave your home. We'll set up a TV. Oh my God, that is kind of brilliant.
48:47Jen:That's, think about the arrogance of that. Think about the arrogance. If we sold tickets to this Atlanta show, but at the same time, we had 25 other venues that we sold tickets for and the people walked in and there was just a screen it was just like this guy has 25 churches and nobody thinks how little he must think of them because i would expect our fan base to be like you arrogant narcissistic twats sold tickets and you're broadcasting your atlanta show what who the do you think you're in the fact that this guy does this without criticism tells you it's a cult.
49:27Pumps:And then on top of it, during our live show, we pass a basket around. We're like, also donate more. Donate more to I've had it.
49:38Jen:I'll tell you what, it's a good deal. You can get it. They don't have to pay taxes. They have all of this political power. But here's the sad part. And this is where it pumps. This is where I think next year, this is what you move into. All right. I think there is going to be a huge need for people as old as you to very young and even older than you, which, you know, there are a few probably that have deconstructed their faith. She's flipping me off listener who have deconstructed their faith and need guidance and community, much like people who are getting sober need a sense of community. And I think you specifically can speak to the damages of these hate academies that are a part of the megachurch boom of the eighties and all of these schools that popped up.
50:31Jen:And I think that, you know, and your daughter's so politically active and into, you know, studying therapy, I think there's something that could be really, really helpful because you were in it. You were inside the Death Star. You were in it. all of your adult life, all of your childhood, and then you reverse course and you're happy. I just, I think there's going to be a huge need outside of all the political shit that's happening for the people who have been brainwashed and abused by these mega churches to find support groups. I'm sure it probably exists, but I think you should start the best one.
51:06Jen:I think you'd be great at it.
51:08Pumps:Well, here's I, I agree with you. It's so needed. It's just, I wonder, somebody else would have to lead it because I'm still trying to fight my way out of it. You know what I mean? Like I, I'm still calling.
51:22Jen:So you would be an attendee.
51:23Pumps:I would be an attendee. Like I would love to say, oh yeah, I figured it all out. I'm aces, but I still feel like I'm unpacking stuff all the time from it and maybe that's just how it is maybe that's just you know like do you feel that kylie is part of the progression we had a little bit different i never got sucked into it
51:49Jen:that's the thing that happened with my mom like she was little her mom was people were like how was your mom an atheist and i was like she just she didn't buy it as a child she was just all the hellfire damnation was threatened on her. And she's just like, this is bullshit. So she took the bus to the library all the time and started reading about it. And like, like at 12, I mean, she's like in the library, take because she lived in Dallas. But I think that the years in it would be far more damaging pump. So I appreciate that you're still digging because I think, yeah, I appreciate that you're so growing from it.
52:24Jen:Because it's a problem. Yeah, it's a huge problem. And your kids, though, your kids kind of, like Kylie, at a very young age, kind of rejected it, right? Yeah. Yeah.
52:39Pumps:It, I just, I don't know. Maybe it's because I wasn't, I mean, like, I didn't have this control over my kids like my mother had of me, I don't think. I think they were like critical thinking and questioning authority of any kind. It was just not something I did growing up. I just didn't.
52:59Jen:Well, I think your mother's the classic textbook authoritarian parent. Yeah. I mean, it's just authoritarian parenting. Well, I just remember like when we were grown adults, we were 30. You were probably 40 and I was 30, somewhere in that range. You were like 35, not just flat 30, but anyway. And anyway, we're at your house and we are in your backyard smoking cigarettes and your mother just showed up, doesn't knock nothing, which I thought was kind of weird that she like didn't allow you your adult autonomy of your home. But I mean, you know, sometimes, you know, but even my parents, they always ring with the doorbell, but she races in, she sees pump smoking.
53:42Jen:she completely melts down she starts bawling crying screaming at the top of her lungs at angie pointing her finger grabs the cigarettes puts them under the water and again we're like grown adults with children and it was just like this complete meltdown and then she had to lie to her mother for years about hanging out with me because i refused because i refused her invitations to bible study right but i mean like outright and then the smoking and then the funny thing about the whole thing is her uh religious most religious friends total chain smoker the one and uh okay you can delete that part but she's like the biggest chain smoker on the planet but if she for your mother gets a pass on everything because of the believes in jesus thing i was always the number one but that's what i'm saying that's like that's why denial is such a part of it
54:38Pumps:no i was shaking i remember i was shaking like physically remember i yes i remember and then
54:44Jen:she storms out and i remember thinking this is wild like my mother would have been like jennifer you know smoking's terrible for you it's going to age you because it wouldn't be about cancer and be like jennifer you know these cigarettes are going to age you prematurely i just think you're such a darling girl you don't want to you don't want to look like an old shriveled up smoker that would have been her purpose of telling me vanity purposes and i know mom i know it's bad i'm gonna quit i'm gonna quit and that would have been the end of it but that it was like the super disproportionate crazy ass thing it's really wild oh i remember it vividly she still do that kind of stuff with you have your boundaries gotten better no the boundaries are a lot better that's
55:25Pumps:a lot better again i haven't seen her in a long time tiptoe tiptoe coming out does she know you vape no but at this point i wouldn't care if she did i but i wouldn't do it in front of her out of respect but i just i'm just like sorry i mean i don't try to hide it like i used to that makes sense yeah i totally get but i also
55:53Jen:understand your point of like why poke the bear if it fins her like i totally get that i'm just like
56:00Pumps:i totally get not i'm not gonna apologize for it or right right yeah i totally i don't think that's
56:06Jen:i totally i think that's respectful and you don't want a big drama about it god yeah i got drama about so much all right kylie do you have anything else to add about um any of these things i don't
56:22Pumps:I feel like you've said it all. Gas bags. Gas bags.
56:27Jen:Yeah. What does the megachurch think about the gays?
56:34Pumps:Here's the thing. A lot of them don't say it out loud. Like the one that I attended, I never heard them even mention gays in my memory. But they have ways of, I think, not being in support, especially as a church. That's your very clear, outright non-support. Totally. If that makes sense. You know, it's like subliminal kind of. Yeah, because that's the that's what everyone assumes. So unless you speak out against it, that's where you stand.
57:02Jen:Yeah, I completely agree. OK, I think that's all we have. We'll see you guys next Tuesday and Thursday.
57:11Jen:I'll tell you what I've had it with. Let's hear it. I've had it with that. Listen up, patriots, gaytriots and natriots. We have a new podcast that has dropped. It's called iHip News. 57:53Jen:A little bit more enthusiasm.
57:55Pumps:Caw-caw.
57:56Jen:That's it. That's, that's, caw-caw. That's the patriotism that this country needs right there.
